《Dungeons & Dragons : A Dragon's Tale (fan fiction)》 1. In the beginning The sky had just darkened above the small town of teriel. A man, never seen before by the eyes of the town''s men enters a local tavern, seeming to have been looking for someone. This mysterious man searched the scene before him finding a one of a kind beast sitting at the bar. ¡°Another¡±. The beast stated. The tender would pour another glass of ale. This beast stood at 9 feet tall with a scale covered body, the color of snow. He was one, of an ancient race, called Dragonborn. The mysterious man sat a seat down the bar from him. ¡°This is your 7th tonight Amarok, your barely even fazed¡±. The tender said. ¡°Amarok huh?¡± the mysterious man stated, with a slight chuckle. His voice boomed with a deep raspiness that could relate to that of Amarok. Amarok peared over, ¡°Who might you be stranger¡±? The man wore a dark hood covering his face. ¡°I''m an old friend¡±. He said turning towards him. Amarok thought through his memories to see if he might remember him, but nothing came to thought for he did not remember much. Just then the man exhaled sending a small burst of fire, revealing that he wasn¡¯t a man, but another Dragonborn. This Dragonborn had scales black as night. This took Amarok by surprise for he hadn¡¯t ever seen another of his kind. ¡°You don¡¯t remember me?¡± He said confused and a bit disappointed. ¡°I am Arrinn¡ your oldest friend.¡± he said. ¡°And you are Sheidden, the great white Dragonborn, Alpha to your bloodline.¡± ¡°I am Amarok, of Teriel, I don¡¯t know who you are.¡± He said as if he was unsure of his own words. ¡°I am camped just outside of town in the woods.¡± Arrinn said as he got up and left the tavern. Amarok thought for a second. Then still confused, he finished his last drink and left the tavern, returning to the Inn he had taken as home.If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. That night a storm had struck the land, pouring rain over the village. Amarok couldn¡¯t seem to escape this dream. He kept tossing and turning in his bed, discomforted by this nightmare. He saw himself, as a baby white Dragon, with other baby white dragons around him. Suddenly an attack happens, and there¡¯s a blast of flames, followed by a bolt of lightning. He hears the voice of a powerful being. The booming voice almost seemed like that of a women. Amarok then burst from his bed into reality, hitting the floor. His hands and eyes rapidly searched around as if he did not know where he was. Once he had noticed that he had lived this nightmare before, he quickly grabbed a cloak and left the inn in a hurry. He had gotten to the gate and passed through, entering the beginnings of the woods. Amarok played with this memory in his head, until he had come to the realization that he just may be who this mysterious Arrinn had said he was. Amarok searched for any type of flame or camp in the trees, but he did not find anything. ¡°Where are you?¡± He thought. He began to wander around losing his way into the woods. Suddenly a large dark figure lept down from a tree landed just meters from Amarok. It landed hard with a heavy echo at its feet. ¡°So,¡¯ A female voice spoke,¡¯ You are the one called Sheidden.¡± She said. She stood about 8 feet tall covered by a dark hood. ¡°Who are you?¡± Amarok questioned. Just then two more figures fell landing on either side of him, also under hoods, shielding their identity. These two both also stood around 8 feet relating to the female. Amarok prepared himself mentally for a battle, until he saw Arrinn pace out from the trees. ¡°So¡. You came.¡± He stated. Arrinn drew back his hood depleting the shade from his face, before the others did the same. It was a group of dragonborns. ¡°Who are you?¡± Amarok asked. ¡°I am Kavara.¡± the female dragonborn spoke. She was covered in green scales. ¡°I am Marik¡±. Another male dragonborn stated. He had goldish scales. ¡°And I am Destin.¡± the last spoke, he having red scales. Amarok sat for a second waiting. ¡°Destined to what?¡± he said. Impatiently, Destin repeated ¡°My name, is Destin.¡± ¡°Oh ok.¡± Amarok said. ¡°So,¡¯ Kavara said,¡¯ Who are you?¡± He thought for a second. ¡°I am Sheidden.¡± He decided. 2. On the road Heat flared off unto the Dragonborns. They all gathered and sat around a campfire surrounded by the the thick oak trees of the Tenzo forest outside of Teriel. The night being late hadn''t affected sheidden, for a lot was lingering in his head. Memories slowly came to him that he hadn''t remembered. It was something about seeing the other dragonborns that put a spark in his head. These memories were not clear but I''m small pieces and blurry. ¡°So, why have you come for me?¡± Sheidden asked. ¡°We have set off on a quest¡ to find our parents.¡± Arrinn stated. Sheidden looked a bit confused. ¡°Parents? ¡± ¡°yes, so you not remember? My mother is the ancient black dragon, Kavara¡¯s is the ancient green dragon, Destin¡¯s is the ancient red dragon, Marik¡¯s is the ancient gold dragon, and yours is the ancient white dragon. ¡°How do we find them?¡± Sheidden asked. ¡°The Dragons are each known to be in their own territories. The closest would be the Green dragon of Shayrak forest.¡± Arrinn explained. Sheidden peered at Kavara for the Green dragon was her mother. Sheidden turned and tried to fall asleep now understanding the group''s goal. The sun has risen, an hour hence to the group''s wake. It has taken time for the light to reach through the trees surrounding them. Sheidden sat up to see Destin was gone and the others were packing up camp. ¡°We move for Shayrak.¡± Arrinn announced The group began to move along through the trees straying from teriel. There wasn''t a path but Marik was an exceptional navigator. He hadn''t needed a map to get around for in his time he had travelled a lot, and the group has deep trust in him. As they moved along Sheidden got the constant feeling they weren''t alone. He felt as if they were being followed. Just then Destin paced out from the woods baring the carcass of a recently slain deer hanging over his shoulder with a single arm to balance it. ¡°Welcome back.¡± Kavara said. They moved along coming to a clearing of a meadow. Wind would flow silently through the tall grass portraying a peaceful scene. The group began to walk through the grass getting to a river in which crossed through the middle of the meadow. A waterfall lay at the end of the river leading into a valley. It was beautiful. Destin placed the deer down and began to cut and skin it. The others say down to just hang out for a while. Sheidden just pondered over the scenery. This text was taken from Royal Road. When he looked Kavara passed him a dagger. ¡°just in case.¡± Sheidden attached it to his belt hanging it by it''s sheath. He nodded at Kavara. Just then as he went back to pondering, a wolf ran out from the tall grass towards Sheidden. Destin quickly gripped his bow and put an arrow into it putting it down before Sheidden. ¡°Wolves!¡± Arrinn called as more charged from the bushes. The group began fighting them off. Sheidden went for his dagger as one leapt at him. Just as he drew the blade the beast tackled him. They both crashed to the floor and rolled into the river. The water immediately took them both with the current. Sheidden fought as hard as he could to keep the wolf off of him at the same time he struggled to see where he was going, flipping and rolling through the water. He then gripped his left hand around its neck and jammed the dagger into its side. The wolf stopped fighting and fell into death but the fight wasn¡¯t over. Sheidden was on the course for the waterfall and it was coming quick. He dug his arms into the water as hard as he could to swim to the side but the current was strong. The group had successfully fought off the wolves and wass running after him. Destin ran ahead of the group with Arrinn close behind. Sheidden was but fifteen feet from the shore. Destin took a few fast steps and launched into the air towards Sheidden. Arrinn simultaneously grabbed his ankle and held a strong branch Destin landed next to Sheidden and grabbed his hand just as he flew off the waterfall. As the group caught up, Arrinn struggled to rip both of them from the raging water. Kavara and Marik grabbed Arrinn and pulled the three of them out from the river. ¡°By my scales!¡± Marik yelled. Sheidden got to his feet ¡°Well there goes the dagger.¡± He said. The group recovered and kept on along the river, farther into the woods. They were headed for a town just a mile up river. There they could resupply and get Sheidden a weapon. They had arrived to see a very active marketplace. The group searched for the first weapon bender they could find. Once one was revealed, they approached, Sheidden counting his money. He bore you 120 silver pieces. He began to search through the weapons until one in which seemed appealing to him would reveal itself. The other Dragonborns searched the market for other supplies necessary for their journey. Sheidden had picked an elvish longsword, which to his mighty hands measure out to match that of a draconic shortsword. ¡°How much for this?¡± He asked the vender. ¡°100 silver pieces.¡± The vender replied shocking Sheidden for this was most of his money. He felt it necessary and purchased the weapons. Along with this he had bought a large black cloak which he''d wear over his clothes. Then regrouping and sitting at a local tavern, Arrinn unfolded a large map, placing it over the table. As they discussed the route they''d travel, Sheidden almost felt like the names that Arrinn read aloud were familiar like he''d been there before. They were going to cross through everything from jungle to desert. They would eventually reach the ancient Draconic temple. Then maybe things will make a little more sense.
