What followed fire, was life, the flames of desolation gave birth to the flames of life, and the wheel of life began to turn this time, the world was submerged in the boundless ocean of stars, and with it life grew on it, trees were sprouting and life was blooming, but the wheel of life was not satisfied, it wanted the whole world to be alive, it sacrificed its very self to make life become alive, and the races were born, the beast race from the animals that were on there before, the dryads from the plants and trees that first lived, and the demons from the previous thought of fear from those who were first alive, the humans then remained, the race who first controlled the world and company they gained. This was the era of Life and with the destruction of the wheel of life a new wheel was born, the wheel of power, and a new era reigned in the wheel of time.The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement. The wheel of time had seen many cycles but none that took so much time as the one with the wheel of power, but in the end the wheel of power broke, it broke into millions of pieces, and the stars were born, which in turn gave power to the races, and the era of power began. this was a completely new era, and the wheel of time had been gone, when they turned to look, it also appeared to have disappeared together with the era of power, and the wheel-less era began. Chapter 2 - Starfall Where am I? Who am I? The wheel of time, Lios¡­ what is that, my name? I don¡¯t need to know, just that I¡¯m falling¡­ falling? To where? Altrea, the world of the races, I shall start anew.
On that day, the world saw the first star-fall and amidst that was Lios, falling to the ground unaware of what was happening. He woke up in a daze, in the middle of a forest with his head hurting. It didn¡¯t seem to be dangerous where he fell, it was a simple forest, calm and with a light breeze, it seemed as if the forest was welcoming him with its arms open. ¡°Where¡­ Altrea, is it? I just know my name and the name of where I am, things don¡¯t seem to be in my favor, should I walk? but to where? to find what? with which purpose?¡± Lios thoughts were a mess, but he soon became clear-headed, and reason started forming in his head. ¡°If I don¡¯t know where to walk I should just follow the sun. If I don¡¯t know what to find, something will surely be in my way. If there is no purpose in walking, there is no purpose in staying, as there will be no change in what is around me. Good, I seem to have found a way now¡± Thus, he started walking, he walked until it was night, but he didn¡¯t get tired, so he continued walking, walked day and night, until it became weeks, and soon it was months. He had a very firm mentality, as the only way he knew to move on was to keep walking, he closely held onto the hope that there would be something if he kept walking, and so he did, he walked for five years. Until, one day, he saw a tunnel, a tunnel made of trees which piqued his curiosity, it was in the direction that he was walking and the trees formed a barrier around it as there was no way around, only through. He entered the tunnel, it was very dark and eerie, but nothing could seem to scare him, what scared him the most was to be alone in that forest one more second, so the thought of going back never travelled on his mind. There was no light on the tunnel, it was completely dark, until a blinding light appeared, like the sun appearing suddenly on a dark sky. the light appeared and he couldn¡¯t open his eyes, so in the end all he saw was darkness, he felt his way through the dark tunnel, until he didn¡¯t feel anymore the tunnel, and he opened his eyes, on his front was a vast grassland and on his back the tunnel back to the forest, with resolute eyes he moved forward, because on that grassland there were humans, and more importantly a city. People from all directions, except his, were running to the city like something exciting was happening, so he walked after this brief pause, without hurry, but fast, without being slow, but with calm. ¡°A city, according to my memories that I discovered over the years, a city should have a place that I can learn about this land and it¡¯s costumes, I knew walking would lead someplace, it¡¯s good to know that I just didn¡¯t waste those five years¡± Lios thought to himself while walking, he appeared to have 10 years. It was strange for a child to be alone in that age, and that made the people around him start staring at him, not knowing if they should call someone, but what made people stay away from him wasn¡¯t his white hair and red eyes, nor his ominous clothes, but that he came from the tunnel, the tunnel that no one ever came back. As he was approaching the city gates, a guard came talk to him ¡°hey, hey kid, don¡¯t you think it¡¯s better to wait for your father or mother before entering the city?¡± The guard said before Lios could enter the city, and in that instant it was like all the fatigue and hunger he didn¡¯t feel before affected him now. Lios passed out, the last thing he could hear was the guard¡¯s worried voice. Chapter 3 - Astus City ¡°What should we do about the kid?¡± ¡°I¡¯m not sure, he didn¡¯t seem to be of any danger as his cultivation hasn¡¯t even begun, but he did come out of the man-eating forest.¡± Some voices were talking, Lios woke up with a splitting headache as those voices faded into the background and information regarding his doubts was suddenly appearing on his mind. ¡°I was in a forest that was connected to the forest those two are talking about, luckily I found the exit, it seems the man-eating forest isn¡¯t something to trifle with. I didn¡¯t feel hunger nor felt exhausted because I was made to only feel those things when I made contact with one of the races, and those years I spent walking were made to strengthen my physical body. It seems like I didn¡¯t spend those years in vain after all, but I wonder what gives me these information¡± While he processed the information he was given there were others talking in the background. ¡°I won¡¯t let someone harm a child in front of me, neither will those higher in power let you guys do so.¡± ¡°But captain, we don¡¯t know where he is from¡± ¡°It could be a miracle that he escaped from that place, no matter where he is from, no word of this is to get out of here, he is to be kept safe, such is our duty as the city guard!¡± ¡°¡±Yes sir!¡±¡± The once opposing guards were now obedient in the face of the captain of the guard, like they were either afraid, or respected him after what he said. ¡°C-Captain, the kid is awakening¡± ¡°Hurry and leave, he will be scared with so many people here¡±
Lios slowly woke up, with the headache now gone, it seemed there was a person standing on the side of the bed he was, he opened his eyes and saw a bearded man wearing leather armor. ¡°How are you kiddo? you gave us a worry suddenly passing out in the gates of the city¡± Growl~ Suddenly, a loud noise is heard. ¡°I¡¯m hungry¡­ ¡± Lios said it more to himself than anything, but the captain laughed and spoke to him again. ¡°Here, you can eat this, my daughter always says that my cooking is the best, she is about your age, a little bit older than you actually.¡± Lios stared at the plate of food that the captain had taken from the table nearby, it seemed they already thought he would be hungry and had prepared food for him, but he still kept staring at the food, afraid that there would be something bad for him in there. Suspecting that Lios had thought that there would be poison on the food, the captain started talking to him. ¡°Don¡¯t worry, I won¡¯t do anything to hurt you, if I wanted to hurt you I could do things a lot more openly¡± Lios took the food, he wasn¡¯t worried about poison anymore, the captain was right, if they didn¡¯t want him to be alive, they wouldn¡¯t choose such methods, he was a child no one knew about, it wouldn¡¯t make difference if he was or wasn¡¯t here.Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. I mean, I couldn¡¯t just keep a kid outside the city in case something happened right?¡± The captain laughed loud, and smiled to Lios, then suddenly turned serious, as if remembering something, and stared at him and asked. ¡°So kiddo, what¡¯s your name? and where are your parents?¡± ¡°My name is Lios¡­ I think¡­ About my parents, I don¡¯t think I have.¡± The captain sighed, the worries he had proven to be right on point. ¡°She won¡¯t stop nagging at me if she discovered I found a lost kid¡­ Well kid, do you have a place to stay?¡± ¡°Not right now¡± ¡°Sigh¡­ You¡¯ll be staying in my house then, my wife and daughter wouldn¡¯t stop bothering me if I just let you alone¡± It seemed that the guard captain wouldn¡¯t let Lios go by himself, and it was a nice offer to begin with, the captain was a nice person, and it was likely that his wife and daughter would be too so Lios decided to go with the captain. ¡°It¡¯s almost night so we should get going when you finish eating¡± ¡°Okay¡±
After Lios finished eating they proceeded to the captain¡¯s house. The captain¡¯s name was Aquill, they were quickly arriving at his home without chatting. There were decorations along the way and there was also a big sign saying ¡°Welcome to Astus city¡±, it seemed the city¡¯s name was Astus and today seemed to be quite the big day for the city. Lios then turned to Aquill and said the first thing in a while. ¡°Was there a commemoration of sorts in the city?¡± Aquill looked to be surprised by Lios question ¡°You didn¡¯t knew? tomorrow is the day all the big schools open their doors to new students, I thought you were here because of that¡± ¡°Ah, I was lost actually, I was trying to find a city to stay in and this was the first city I saw¡± ¡°Well, you found a city, what do you intend to do now?¡± ¡°I want to find someplace to learn about the world¡± ¡°Then your best shot is going to the school, lucky for you the schools are also open to registry tomorrow, so when we get to my home I¡¯ll ask my daughter to lecture you a bit about schools¡± ¡°Thank you¡± ¡°It¡¯s of no problem kiddo¡± Lios didn¡¯t knew much about the world nor about himself, and if he wanted to survive in this world he would need to learn its costumes, and learn how they live, only then to find something more about why he is here, who he is, or why he is here, one needs to be strong to keep his own secrets, and to discover, even more.
They finally stopped walking and arrived in front of a common house, just like the others by its side, nothing special to be said about it, it would become his home in the years to come, but Lios didn¡¯t knew that yet. They entered the house. Something seemed wrong as Aquill stopped walking a bit after the entrance, Lios decided to see what was in front of the captain that made him stop walking. Lios saw a woman and a child sitting on a chair, the child seemed to be sleeping and the woman had an angry look on her face, he wondered who they were. ¡°H-Hey Mere, I have a good reason to being late¡± Said the captain with a look full of panic on his face, the woman seemed to be someone he knew, her name seemed to be Mere. ¡°I wonder what good reason is that you left your daughter and wife waiting for you¡± ¡°I-It¡¯s best I show you¡± Lios didn¡¯t knew what they were talking about, ¡°Who is that child on her lap?¡± he wondered completely unaware of the atmosphere of the room. Aquill moved to the side so that Lios came into Mere¡¯s view. ¡°Listen, I decided to take care of this child, he was found wandering outside of town and the city guards post office isn¡¯t a good place to stay, so I brought him here¡± Mere sighed and then said ¡°They really should fix that place up, but now that you brought him here, what do you plan to do?¡± ¡°Well¡­ He said he wanted to know more about the world, so I thought to make him enter a School, they have dormitories and he should be relatively safe until graduation, since the applications for the new term will begin tomorrow, I thought to have him sleep here tonight and go to apply to enter a school tomorrow, since they only test his talent he should be able to enter a school without any prior knowledge.¡± Mere sighed again, though this time it was for a different reason, she had an annoyed look on her face. ¡°So you just plan to trow him into the world? When the school closes for the holidays what will you do? make him stand out on the street?¡± ¡°That brings to what I wanted to discuss with you, I planned on making him enter the same school as Aria, that way I can be sure that someone will be there for him, and for the holidays I wanted to bring him here, I want us to become his guardians here in Astus, that is¡­ if he wants to.¡± When Aquill turned to look at Lios, he saw him lied down on the ground sleeping, while laughing a bit Aquill turned to look at Mere. ¡°Seems like that will have to wait until tomorrow¡± Chapter 4 – The School Test ¡°What does a guardian do exactly?¡± Lios asked after being asked if he wanted Aquill and Mere to be his Guardians. Once he woke up, he was in an unfamiliar room and Mere and Aquill were there and explained what were Aquill ideas for Lios future. ¡°Well, we guarantee your safety, are responsible for you and we will pay your expenses in case it¡¯s needed.¡± Aquill explained. ¡°Then yes, I agree to Miss Mere and Mister Aquill being my guardians¡± Lios lightly bowed to Mere and Aquill once for each. ¡°The school test will begin soon, Aria, our daughter, will be guiding you there, since she is already a student she won¡¯t be going to do the test with you, but I¡¯m sure you will pass.¡± Mere said and lightly smiled to Aquill.
While walking down a street Lios followed a girl a little bit older than him, she was the daughter of Mere and Aquill, Aria. She was wearing a light blue frilly dress with dark blue ribbons, just like her mother she had dark green eyes and blonde hair. Lios was wearing something different this time, a white shirt with a black vest and brown pants, Mere insisted on him wearing those clothes, saying she went out to buy them before he woke up. They soon got to the school. Aria started talking for the first time after they left home. ¡°Lios, I will be waiting for you near the exit for the exam, they will test your aptitude for cultivation, your cultivation technique and which faction you will belong to, there are a few things that I should explain, each person has a cultivation technique that they own, they were born with it, the name of the cultivation technique will appear when it is appraised.¡± Aria stopped speaking and turned to Lios. ¡°Do you understand everything that I explained until now?¡± ¡°Yes.¡± Lios Answered. ¡°Good, I will continue to explain then, there are 4 factions, the faction of time, the faction of power, the faction of life and the faction of the wheel-less. Those who are in the faction of time are those that have an affinity with the wheel of time, the same is for the faction of power and the faction of life, they each receive different teaching based on their affinities, the faction of the wheel-less is a bit different, for those that have more than one affinity or have the affinity of the wheel-less they will go to the faction of the wheel-less, those who are from that faction are called the wheel-less, because of that it is the faction of the wheel-less, the wheel-less are those that receive the title of genius because they mostly have more than one affinity they have more expansive powers, I belong to the faction of life, and that is everything that I should explain to you, the rest the teachers will explain in case you meet the requirements.¡±The narrative has been taken without permission. Lios found himself in a large room full of people, it seems they were all here to participate on the test. The large room looked like an auditorium, there was a stage surrounded by a staircase, no-one got close to the steps of the staircase and there were quite a few adults that were sitting on the stage as if waiting for something, when suddenly an old man walked from behind the curtains of the stage, those adults got up from their chairs. ¡°I would like to welcome all those that are going to partake in the test for our school¡± His voice could reach every corner of the room, it was a deep voice, like a voice from someone who had seen what the world has to offer. ¡°I would like to say that regardless of your potential you will be accepted in the school, but depending on it, it will change what class you will be assigned to. The ranks are from class A to class J so, good luck on the examination and good enrollment in Arcadia.¡± The old man went back to behind the curtains, and so the examination began. A line was formed, Lios was to the end of the line, one of the last.
Time passed and soon Lios turn came. He went up the staircase and got on the stage, there was someone he thought was a teacher waiting for him there. ¡°I will guide you to the exam location.¡± Said the teacher(?) in charge and he started walking, soon Lios followed without saying a word. They went behind the curtains and the old man from before was waiting there with other elders. ¡°Say your name and age and enter the circle in the center¡± As the teacher(?) said that Lios looked at the ground, there were strange runic markings on the floor and in the center there was a circle made of the same color of the runic symbols, inside the circle it was as if emptiness reigned there. Lios gulped and then said his name. ¡°I¡¯m Lios, 10 years old.¡± And so, Lios went in, to the middle of the circle. The circle started to shine, and soon did the runes they shined as if they would never stop shining, just like the stars in the sky. Then, a text appeared in front of Lios.

Lios descended the staircase and went to talk to the gatekeeper of the dormitory ¡°Hello, I would like to ask about the class roster for new students mister Aviro.¡± ¡°Oh¡­ Lios right? here they are, behind is a map of the school.¡± After receiving the class roster, Lios said thanks and started checking the classes he was enrolled in. The first class was a short explanation on cultivation and it¡¯s realms and later it was free time for training your cultivation understanding. Lios heard screams, they were the voices of his classmates, he quickly opened his eyes to see that there was something forming in front of him, he reached his hands and the light started to shine brighter and the wind stopped. A book was floating in front of him, he reached his hand and grabbed the book, his classmates were astonished at him, with a face that said that he was something dangerous. The book had something written on the cover, it was ¡°Inner World Formation¡±, there was a golden lock on the book, matched with golden embroideries.
The class resumed later without much commotion, people gor their books with their own effort, but no one got one like the one Lios did, no wind blowing or light shining, the book just appeared on their tables. Lios thought that was a bit strange, why was he the only different one? but didn¡¯t put much thought into it, he thought it was just something that happened because of the book, which in turn increased his curiosity to the book. After the class ended it was cultivation time, everyone was supposed to find a place they were comfortable with on the school grounds and read their books, Lios quickly left the classroom and went to a place he saw earlier in the way to the classroom, it was a flower garden, in the middle there was a bench for observing, Lios got strangely attracted to that place and went there to cultivate. When he got there, there was a person sitting on the bench, but luckily it was a two person bench so Lios sat next to that person, he didn¡¯t pay attention to the person he was next to and just started staring at the book, he first examined the lock on the book, the book didn¡¯t open until he touched the lock with his index finger for examination, after observing he saw that the book would open and close the lock when he touched it with his right hand index finger. He started reading the book, he reads carefully page after page, the book was by no means simple, but strangely Lios could understand everything in it, like the book was somehow destined to him. The book talked about a strange form of meditation, one had to absorb the energy of the sun, so it couldn¡¯t be done at night, and the energy of water, so it had to be done close to a body of water. The place he was now fitted the criteria, as it was day and the garden had a scenic lake he could start meditating now and so he did. The first month of school was mostly filled with cultivation time and strangely, there was always a person when Lios went to meditate on the garden, it was a girl, she wore the B class uniform, it was the same as the one of the A class, but the vest was blue, she had long black hair and purple eyes, but Lios didn¡¯t give too much attention to her, just meditated all month. The technique of the book was as followed, one had to absorb the energy of the sun to form a small sun inside your spiritual body, with the sun formed concentrate in absorb both the energy of the sun and of the lake to create a small world that was bound to the sun, when the small world was created one had to gather moons, moons were formed by your cultivation, when one gathered 10 moons one could advance to the next cultivation level, that was the Inner World Formation technique and when the inner world was formed you were a Lower Level 1 Human cultivator, currently Lios was steadily advancing towards the Level 2 with 5 moons, he was at Middle Level 1 Human. Chapter 6 - Athen I wonder really what¡¯s up with him. I mean why is he always sitting by my side? Does he have something against me? Such thoughts pass through my mind while I look at him reading his book. Isn¡¯t everybody supposed to keep their distance from me? Am I not a person that is cursed by the wheels? Such person is often avoided by others, why doesn¡¯t he do the same then? Is it a new form of harassment? ¡°haa¡­¡± I leak out a sigh while having such thoughts. Despite such a thing being common to me, the boy doesn¡¯t look at me with disgust neither does he abuse me with words, contrary to my expectations he only stays there quietly reading his book. ¡°He doesn¡¯t know about me¡± such a thought never passed through my mind, not because I didn¡¯t think of it, but because I didn¡¯t want to think that was it. Even such a person that is me, even I want to live a normal life, even I want to have someone I can call a friend. While having such thoughts, the boy turns to look at me and finds me staring at him. The boy finally opened his mouth after I had such thoughts, and as if to mock everything I thought he says what I feared the most. ¡°My name is Lios, nice to meet you miss¡­?¡± He doesn¡¯t know me, if it was the me in the past I would be very happy, but¡­ now that I know what happens when someone doesn¡¯t know me, it¡¯s just a hammer crushing my hopes down. ¡°You probably shouldn¡¯t talk to me.¡± I say while making the most serious face I can. ¡°Why?¡± The boy asks me crushing my hopes even further. ¡°I mean, I¡¯m an existence cursed by the wheels, everybody knows that those cursed by the wheels aren¡¯t people you should talk to.¡± And as if suddenly remembering something the boy says what hammers the final nail in the coffin that is the hope I had of making friends. ¡°Oh, so you¡¯re miss Athen?¡± And trying hard not to let my feelings of despair leak out I respond. ¡°Yes, now that you know you should stay away from me.¡± I make a bit more effort to drive him away. ¡°Now go-go, away from me¡± And the response is something I didn¡¯t even imagine in my dreams. ¡°Why?¡± And the boy continues as if it¡¯s the most common thing in the world. ¡°I can¡¯t cultivate anywhere else because of my cultivation technique restrictions so I plan to stay here to cultivate, if that¡¯s okay with you.¡± Oh I see, so he wants me to leave here then. What did I think it was, there isn¡¯t anything else that someone can take from me.
