《Sailing into the unknown》 Chapter 1: Stranded The sound of waves crashing against the rocks. The sound of insects chirping. The sound of seagulls screeching through the heavens. These were the sounds that woke me from my unconsciousness. ¡°Where am I?¡± I mumbled to myself as I struggled to get on my feet. ¡°What happened?¡± I had no clue where I was or where my crew mates were. The last thing I remember is our ship perishing in a devastating storm. I assumed I was going to die as soon as I fell into the water, so I let myself get thrown around by the waves as I let my consciousness fade away. ¡°How did I survive?¡± I wondered. ¡°Did I even survive? Maybe this is the afterlife?¡± I soon got my answer, thanks to a crab that pinched my big toe. ¡°Ouch!¡± I shouted, while trying to shake of the crab from my foot. ¡°At least I know I¡¯m still alive.¡± I concluded. I looked around if there was anyone or anything else washed up on the shore. I found a sword, a small rope, but most important of all, the necklace with the tooth of a shark my late father left me. ¡°At least I still have this.¡± I sighed as I put the necklace around my neck. I picked up the small rope and tied my spiky, messy hair into a ponytail. Lastly, I picked up the sword. It was a curved sword, the grip was made of gold. This must have been the sword of a strong pirate, maybe even from our captain. This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source. That¡¯s when I realized I saw no one else from my crew here. I assumed the worst and concluded that they¡¯d all perished and that I was the only surviving member of our crew. I decided to go into the jungle, which seemed to cover the entire island except for the coastline. ¡°There must be something edible on this island.¡± I thought. Surviving became my top priority. Living on for my drowned crew mates, that seemed to be the task I was given by the oceans. As I wandered through the overgrown jungle, cutting away all the vines that are in my way, I found a few plants that seemed edible. I took the plants with me and continued my way through the jungle. The already dark jungle got darker and darker as time went by. ¡°I should find a shelter.¡± I mumbled to myself as I continued my way. However, I was completely lost in this enormous jungle. I decided to look for a cave, a hollow tree or something to use as shelter for the night. It didn¡¯t take me long to find a shelter. However, it wasn¡¯t a cave or a hollow tree. What I found was a village, or ruins of an an ancient village rather. I decided to take shelter in the least destroyed house there was. The ruin had no roof, but the walls seemed sturdy enough to keep them from collapsing. I made a fire using some branches on the ground for some light. ¡°This should keep me warm for the night.¡± I told myself as I started eating some of the berries I found in the jungle today. After I ate some berries I decided to call it a day and laid down and fell asleep. ¡°Let¡¯s make a raft tomorrow.¡± I mumbled to myself as I fell asleep. Chapter 2: Village The sound of footsteps. The sound of people talking. These were the sounds I heard when I woke up the next day. It took me a while before I realized what was going on, but then I remembered. I fell asleep in some ruins on an uninhabited island, or that¡¯s what I thought. When I woke up, I saw lots of people around me, as well as multiple houses. This must be the village of the inhabitants of this island. However, the people here clearly didn¡¯t have any plans of letting me leave, since I was locked up in a cage. There was no way of escaping, as my sword was taken away by the villagers. The oldest one of the villagers had noticed that I¡¯d woken up. ¡°Silence!¡± he shouted. The villagers immediately stopped talking as they heard his call for silence. ¡°Our ¡®guest¡¯ has woken up.¡± pronouncing the word ¡®guest¡¯ in a rather sarcastic way. Everyone looked at me as if I was some kind of thief who came here to raid the entire island. I couldn¡¯t really blame them, I am a pirate after all. The old man walked up to me. ¡°You were wrong coming here, boy.¡± The entire village glared at me. ¡°I can explain.¡± I said, hoping to convince them I¡¯m not here to harm them. ¡°You have two options, boy.¡± The old man continued, ignoring my words. ¡°You can either be killed immediately,¡± the old man paused for a second, ¡°or you can fight with our mightiest warrior and die at his hands.¡± He glared at me, waiting for my answer. The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. ¡°But I didn¡¯t come here with evil intentions.¡± I said, hoping he¡¯d change his mind, but he didn¡¯t seem to be willing to cooperate with me. ¡°To die or to die fighting, boy! Those are your choices!¡± he shouted at me. Guess I have no choice then. ¡°Fine. I¡¯ll fight for my life then.¡± I snarled. ¡°Good.¡± the old man said. He turned to the villagers. ¡°The prisoner will be fighting for his life in the arena at noon!¡± he announced. The entire village let out a roar of excitement. After everything had calmed down and everyone went back to their daily routine, a few people picked up my cage and carried me to the arena. I was let out of my cage in a room next to the arena. The room contained various weapons of all sorts. The only two ways out of the room was through a prison like gate, which leads to the arena, and a wooden door that only opens from the outside. This must be the room where they leave people like me to prepare for the fight. The people who carried me here already left and I was all alone in the room. The only chance I have to survive is fighting, so I decided to look through the weapons and pick the one I¡¯m most comfortable with. I don¡¯t know how strong the warrior is I¡¯ll be fighting, but I¡¯m not going down without a fight. I have to survive for my fallen crew mates.
