《Whisked Away With My Divorcée》 Messsage (1) "How is the war going?" A girl in dark crimson armor asked. Beside her, kneeling in a servile manner was a figure wearing a dark green cloak. The figure rasped, "Princess, currently our armies are slowly pushing the Zorians back and we have already recaptured two cities." The girl jumped onto a tree branch and swung her legs back and forth. She gritted her teeth and said, "If the only father would let me fight! I could at least take down a few of those Zorian bastards!" Some of her black hair flew in front of her face as a gust of wind blew. She clenched her fist even more and swiped the hair out of her face and said, "Instead... I am left as far back as possible. In fact, I couldn''t even be further from the fighting!" The kneeling figure rasped once more, "Princess Scarlet, the king has already told me that you must be protected. Would you rather become a hostage and be used against your country?" Scarlet bit her lip, "Trust me, that won''t happen; I would die before they could take me hostage. I just don''t like sitting on the backlines doing nothing while everyone else is at least helping in some way."This text was taken from Royal Road. He put a rough hand on her shoulder and said, "Well, we can''t risk it. I don''t like sitting on the backlines either, but protecting you has the same value as being on the battlefield." The man smiled bitterly, "Scarlet, believe me, I thought that I would never be captured alive too. However, the Zorians have incredible healing abilities. I have heard that their best doctor could cure anyone of anything but death." Scarlet raised an eyebrow, "So why not just try to kill yourself right before you were captured by them if you didn''t want to be interrogated, Dunlas?" Dunlas sighed, "I tried. Unfortunately, I did not die quick enough. At the time, I had a suicide pill that I ate as soon as I knew I was captured. Before it took effect, one of their soldiers fed me some pill that caused my suicide pill to lose effect." Dunlas stood up and looked out from the hill, revealing a muscular body under his black cloak. He turned back and gave a smile, "That''s why I am here to make sure you don''t make the same mistake. I already owe the Girid Empire too much." Scarlet smiled back and jumped off the branch. "Could we at least move a tiny bit closer to the battlefield at least? We would still be on the back lines and I could probably see a lot more than on this tiny hill." Dunlas opened his mouth to reply but he suddenly took his bow and rapidly shot an arrow towards the sky. Scarlet looked with shock in her eyes as a dead carrier pigeon, pierced with an arrow, landed right onto Dunlas'' outstretched hand. Message (2) Scarlet''s shock passed and she said with surprise, "Dunlas, I had no idea you were that good with a bow!" However, why did you shoot down a random carrier pigeon? It could have been one of ours." Dunlas'' expression was solemn as he said, "None of our carrier pigeons fly through this route. The strange part is that this carrier pigeon seems to have been flying towards the Desolate Mountains." Scarlet walked towards Dunlas as he opened up a letter attached to the leg of the carrier pigeon. Their expressions were filled with shock not long after. Scarlet said with seriousness, "We have to let the general and my father know about this. This could change everything." Dunlas nodded and his figure seemed to be in deep thought. His hoarse voice replied, "You must find the general. He is still near the backlines so you should be safe. Deliver the letter to him. I will try to rush back to the capital to tell your father." Dunlas thought for a moment before he tossed Scarlet an earring shaped like a black dragon as he said, " You can have your earring back by the way." The earring Dunlas threw was one of a pair that signifies direct royalty (ruler & heir).Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation. Scarlet clenched the small earring in her hand and replied, "You too. By giving me back my earring, you are not afraid of me using it to command the troops on the frontline?" Dunlas shrugged, "Although he never told you this, the earring lets His Highness track you as he has the identical token. It was quite useful when you were younger and always hid in the palace. It also has some small amounts of magic left from the founders that can protect you from small dangers and might be able to help you get out of sticky situations. As long as it can protect you, it is worth it... I hope." Dunlas jumped onto his horse and sighed, "While I can''t force you to stay on the backlines, I really hope you promise me that you will stay at the back. The war is at a critical point and any more unexpected changed like the one in the letter will shift the balance." Scarlet swept the dirt around the campfire, putting it out. She jumped onto her own white horse as well and said to Dunlas, "I''ll try, but no promises. Now, we must hurry on our separate ways. Based on the letter, it seems that Zoria has somehow managed to bring a dead occupation back to life." Dunlas turned his horse behind them, back towards the capital of Girid. He glanced back at Scarlet and said, "Remember to ration your food carefully, the general''s camp should be about a day''s ride east. If you get lost, find landmarks and cross-reference that with the map His Highness gave you before you left." Scarlet turned her horse away as well and laughed it off, "Are you my grandparent or something? I already learned all these basic skills back at home. I''ll be fine. See you later, I guess." She kicked at her horse and heard Dunlas shout behind her, "I''ll rush back to the general''s camp for you as soon as I can." Message (3)

Scarlet patted him on the head and said soothingly, "You did great Cress. Just wait here for a while." Scarlet started walking off the road towards one side and heard the sound of a stream. Cautiously, she slowly crept towards the stream, making sure she didn''t snap any branches.
