《All Things Must End》 Introduction My name is Omnia Finem. You might be wondering why I have such a strange name, well I have my parents to thank for that. They believed that my name should "mean something" and I guess it does. You could almost say my name has defined my life. You will often hear a lot about an individual who lives up to their name, but I am a special case, even amongst them. This is probably more than you wish to know about my name, so I will change the subject. How¡¯s the weather is it rainy were you are? I have had a paltry amount of rain where I live, the rain can seem quite depressing to me sometimes. Actually, it is because of the rain that I''m writing this story for "you". I will get down to business and tell you the story that you wish to hear. After all, why would you be here if you didn''t want to read a good story. I can only hope that this story will appease your demands. Before I start I must tell you something: this is NOT a story of fiction, this is a story of my life. My non-fictional or made up life, after all "cogito, ergo sum". Anyone who can say something like that has to be real right? In reality though (or should I say in "your" reality) my existence is meaningless, I am only here to be the world¡¯s best web novel. This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it If you are still here, then hats off to you my good sir (or ma''am)! You are a loyal reader; henceforth, you shall bring greatness to this literary work. I shall now tell you my story (I promise I will this time). My name is Omnia but to my close friends I am known as jabber. I am joking, I am Actually known as Milo. I have recently turned thirteen and was told a shocking truth about my life and the world around me. You might be wondering why at such a young age I speak so pompously? There is a simple answer for such a thing, I have always been highly intelligent, and I thought you would be accustomed to over the top protagonists. Ths is kind of an introduction to my story/life I''m sorry I can''t tell you everything about myself in this introduction. Even If I did tell you everything what would be the point of finishing the story? Only by using cliff hangers and what may seem as a plot whole can I keep my readers interested. Fret not readers, for in the next chapter you will meet other characters! I must regret though that they will not be protagonists, they may not even be reoccurring characters. After all, in the wheel that is life, not all things can be foretold, or known, or so you think... Chapter 1: The Start to an End The day was anew with fresh life and beginning. The grass was dripping with dew from the previous night. Water droplets hanging on a spider web shined like diamonds, in the early morning sun. Just like morning signifies a new and fresh start, so did today for Milo. "Son, now that you have turned 13 you must go to a new school" said Milos father. "Dad why do I need to leave? I have become quite accustomed to my school." Milo responded. "Milo, you have much to learn which you do not know, don''t worry someone will be coming to get you" It seemed that out of nowhere an individual popped in to the room. He was wearing formal garb, it was the kind a classical school would wear. "Top of the morning Tim" said the home intruder. "Good morning Edwards" Milo''s father responded with a stiff face. "Hmm" Edwards smirked and looked over to see Milo. Milos eyes were protruding from his face, and his jaw had almost touched the floor. The sheer shock of what had happened had stunned him for a moment. "So, this must be the young''un ay, he appears quality enough." Edwards said "Hello sir, I am Milo sir." Milo didn''t think it would be wise to be rude to an individual who can appear anywhere. "Well, trained isn''t he, I guess he should be for such a scrawny thing." Edwards mused to himself. Milo was not strong for his age, but he was not weak. He laid somewhere in the middle of the two groups. Milos hair was a dark blonde with a tinge of unnatural redness speckled throughout. His eyes looked like an Emerald that lived in the ocean. He had a tall stature being almost 5.5 feet tall (168 cm) and appeared like a stringy individual. He looked peculiar, but all of these peculiarities gave him an unnatural looking charm. His skin gave off a pale rosy complexion, it gave him the appearance of being healthy. He always carried a smile on his face, or at least a smirk not the smug kind, instead it was in more of a playful way. This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it. "Are you going Edwards?" said Milos dad, Tim. "You wish me to be gone so badly, that you don''t even care about your son, why are you so heartless Timothy?" "Don''t call me that! Edwardo..."replied Tim "Ohh so you wish to fight Doctor Tim, as long as your wife is not here what do I have to worry about?" replied Edward. Milo interjected at this moment before anything could get to heated, between his father and the mysterious stranger. Milo was quite confused in this whole situation. It was quite obvious his father knew this man named Edward, but who was he? This question would be answered soon. "Alrighty Omnia, it is now time for you to go to that school I told you about earlier." While Milo''s father said this, he was holding back tears in his eyes. "Already dad? That was fast." It was hard for Milo to imagine that he must depart already. Edward did not agree with Tim about this idea of leaving so soon. "I don''t know Tim, it is awfully nice hear how about we stay a bit?" RING* RING* RING* Tim picked up the phone and answered it. "Hello, is that you honey? You are coming back? Guess who''s here, Its Edward, Yup, he can''t wait to see you." As Tim hung up the phone he looked at Edward and said. "That was the wife she''s about to be home, she said she CAN''T WAIT to see you." As Tim was saying this he had the largest smile on his face. The smile was so large in-fact, it was almost blinding to look at. "Hahahaha" was all that Edward could say. Milo who was standing behind Edward could see his hands behind his back fidgeting and there was cold sweet pouring off of him. "Well I guess we should go Milo." Said Edward. "Why not stay awhile Edward" said Tim still with that unnatural smile across his face. "Oh no, I hate to over stay my visit, besides the school is probably expecting us." "Alright have a safe trip, I would hate to lose my good friend, if Milo was hurt after all..." Replied Tim still with that smile, it was even scaring Milo now. "Don''t worry I will protect him with my life." Responded Edward. "Is that good enough Ed?" Edward was too scared to talk anymore to Tim. He put his hand on Milos shoulder and told him. "We are about to jump, it won''t be dangerous, but it might feel a little funny." Gulp* It was then that everything went dark. He could still here Edwards voice telling him not to worry. Hearing Edward talking Milo asked. "Why are you so scared of my mother Mr. Edward?" Hearing Milo talk surprised Edward, but he soon replied why. "Anyone Logical would be, after all she is called Aufer¨ Susan." "What does that mean?" asked Milo. "Nothing you should or would want to know." After hearing Edward say that, he did not think it wise to tell him that his dad had actually called himself... Chapter 2: Were Am I? Nowhere... After a little while Milo and Edward finally arrived where they were going. When Milo looked up he saw the most peculiar sight. It was as bright as day but he could see the stars. This astounded Milo as he didn''t know of any place on earth like this. "Were are we?" Milo asked Edward. "Nowhere." Edward bluntly replied "Nowhere?" Milo yelled appalled at the illogical answer to his question. "How can we be nowhere, we are obviously somewhere". Edward sighed at the over-dramatic Milo, he didn''t say anything and thought for a while. Edward then looked over to Milo and said. "How do I say this... We are technically somewhere, but we do not know where that somewhere is exactly. It could be in an undiscovered part of the universe, between space, or even a different reality, in short we do not know, so we are virtually, nowhere." "Then Mr. Edward why exactly are we here?" asked Milo. "Obviously for school, why else would I have taken you away from your terrible father and generous mother." Replied Edward matter-of-factly. "What School, I don''t see a school." Responded Milo, fearing for Edwards health and eye sight. "Obviously you can''t see it, step forward and it will be visible." Thinking he was speaking to an idiot, he sighed. When Milo stepped forward he could feel as if he was walking through a thin film, it was almost like it warped around his body. After stepping through he could see a grand looking array. There were beautiful towering buildings that looked both modern and classic. The glass and stone on the buildings appeared like a flowing river with no obstruction. There was a reflection pool in the center of the buildings that gave off an impression of the stars being on the ground. It seemed as if the stars were waving at each other from above and below.Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! "Amazing site isn''t it." Edward said, spoiling the mood Milo was in, after viewing such an exotic scene. "Yea" Milo replied. "We must hurry Milo or you will miss the recommencement ceremony." Edward stated. "Is that bad?" Milo asked. He becoming pale with fright. Being late on the first day, would make him the laughing stock of everyone, he thought with horror. Also what a cliche thing to happen. It was almost like he was novel''s protagonist. Such thoughts soon left his mind, after all what is the point of entertaining such absurd thoughts. "Being late to you''re Recommencement ceremony would be very bad, especially with what it signifies." Edward said. As the two continued on there way to the ceremony they passed a couple individuals, many of them looked at Milo with interest. When they caught sight of Edward though they bowed their head in respect. When the two had almost reached the building holding the ceremony, which looked like the Parthenon they were stopped by an individual who was similarly clothed to Edward. "Hello Edward, I am sorry to say that you are late." Said the man. "Out of the way Possessio I must get into the building and I will not have you hold me up." Replied Edward. "Oh but Edward I am not holding you up, I am merely following the preexisting rules." Informed the ''kind'' sir. "You can''t fool me Possessio I know what you are doing, and I will not stand for it! Now out of my way or else..." threatened Edward. Edward could see that this conversation was going no-were, so he used a different tactic. "Possessio, have you ever heard of a Susan Finem, this is her son Omnia" Stated Edward. Edward asked this question because he could obviously tell, there was someone hiding around the corner of the building. It was quite obvious to him who it was also. The person was Cain. He maintained a similar job to Edward, except he was not as high up or well regarded. One of the main reasons he wasn''t as well accepted, was because of situations like these. Cain always felt that he was greater than others perceived him to be. Because of this he craved recognition and acceptance at all costs. Cain went to great lengths to win the acknowledgment of others, but in reality he was perceived, with less and less significance each passing day. When Cain heard the name Susan Finem he jerked his head up. If the Susan he was thinking about, is the same as the one Edward mentioned, he might not live past the night. He quickly realized it must be the same, how else could two share such a strange last name. As Cain had this epiphany his back become wet with cold sweat, and he couldn''t help but feel chills running down his spine. The closest thing he would be able to relate it with would be death. It was almost like he was having a staring contest with the harbinger of death... Cain ran out from behind the building with his face twisted in anguish. He strictly reprimanded Possessio for upholding important business. "Possessio how could you uphold these fine men, when they even Kindly asked to pass?" "But Sir Cain you said...." Possessio tried to prove his innocence, but he was cut short by Cains harsh glance. "Possessio do not try to get out of you''re reprimanding, you have done wrong, and when an individual does wrong they must face disciplinary action." Responded Cain without a hint of shame across his face. It seemed as if he didn''t even see his own faults or wrongdoings in the matter. Edward was to tired with the situation to talk any further with the two. He looked over too Milo and asked "Are you ready, your life will forever change from this moment." "What kind of life would I live if I didn''t seek out change and adventure?" Milo asked. "Good answer" Edward Said. Milo was full of anticipation for what was about to happen. His heart was racing and he was breathing heavily. As Milo and Edward opened the door, to the building housing the ceremony Milo was shocked. Chapter 3: The Recommencement Ceremony When Milo Stepped in to the building he could see, a sea of people. Many of these individuals looked to be the same age as him. A few were young adults, and even fewer were older people. These older people were wearing similar looking clothes to Edward. Their clothes were not exactly alike though. Their clothes appeared more refined, almost like a formal teachers clothing. Milo was not the only one to be inspecting people. It seemed like the entire crowd of people turned to look at Milo. The emotions showed on their faces was extremely varied. Many showed signs of disregard, this didn''t surprise Milo as he too wouldn''t care in this situation, but that is only if he is not the one being stared at. Most of the teachers showed signs of surprise and joy when they looked over at him, Milo couldn''t come to a concrete idea for this. What surprised Milo the most, was some teachers and students showed hostility, this was astounding as he had just arrived. How could he get these individuals hostility? One of the students appeared so hostile it was like he wished to take Milos life. Milo could almost sense a killing intent from him. The student looked as if he was used to the sight of death and blood. It seemed hard for Milo to imagine a child of similar age, who would have to go through such suffering, to have such a strong killing intent. The boy¡¯s name was Azrael. Azrael lived terrifying life. He was raised to kill.... His existence was to kill.... His mission from both was to kill.... Ever since at a young age Azrael was trained, it was his father who taught him to get rid of the problems that might arise in his future. When Azrael caught sight of Milo he was intrigued, but when he noticed the teacher¡¯s admiration for him he knew Milo could not stay. Azrael came from a harsh family, A family without the love of a mother. Azrael''s mother died in child birth with Azrael. Because of this Azrael was both physically and verbally abused from a young age. Azraels father, had put all of the blame of his mother¡¯s death on his shoulders. There was only way for Azrael to relive the hate he suffers from at home. Azrael took his hate out upon the world by making others leave it. He found joy in what his name meant, even though his mother named him Azrael, so he would do Gods bidding. The first time Azrael killed someone was when he was six-years-old. Azrael did not view humans as humans. They were ''fleshy robots'' in his eyes, and obstacles to overcome in his path of life. Azrael was not caught for his taking of lives and because of that he continued to do it. Sometimes he would be irritated, and the police would be lucky to find a piece of what had happened. Other times he would try to be as silent and proficient as possible. This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source. Because of all the deaths in Azraels home town people were petrified. The police could find no killer to any of the cases. There were even times were people would go missing never to be found. The only one who truly knew what happened was Azrael. When Azrael was picked up to come to the school, the one who brought him was deeply saddened for him. After all Azrael told him that his father had committed suicide. Earlier that year Azrael was sick of living with his father. One night when his father had ''hit the bottle to hard'' Azraels plan was set in motion... Earlier that morning Azrael ran to the hospital with a face of panic and anguish. When the medics arrived to his house they estimated that his father had died that night. The police found that he had died from taking to many anti-depressants. They found bottles strewn around him, it appeared like he swallowed so many at a time he almost chocked on them. Still only Azrael knew what truly happened that night... (back to Milo) Milo saw only one seat open in the entire building. Obviously, this seat was placed in the front, very close to the podium. After Milo sat down everyone returned their sight to the podium. It was then that an individual got up and walked behind the podium. He wore a long robe, had a white beard, and looked quite old. He was virtually the definition of a wizard, all he needed was a staff and a menacing composure and it would be perfect. The wizard looking man then spoke. "Hello, all students, this is the school ''Lernejo'', this school is grounded in Knowledge and tradition. All who go against the rules of this school will face immediate expulsion. This our oldest and most enforced rule here. I advise you all to be disciplined while you attend this learning institute. If you do not maintain top grades you will immodestly fail and also face expulsion. Finally, disputes will not be allowed by any member of the student body. If such a situation arises it must be put to rest with no physical activity. If both sides do agree, that the issue can''t be put aside, then you must gain permission from the school for a physical fight." Said the wizardly old man. He then paused for a moment of recollection, he then stated. "Now I must lead you all in your recommencement ceremony, if you look behind you, you will see 7 tall statues. These statues each have an out stretched arm. You must all, in single file, while following the teacher¡¯s instructions walk beneath the outstretched hand." The students were all very confused by this. Why should they do such an odd thing? When they thought about it this entire school was extremely odd. Ultimately though what were they to do but listen and obey, and so they all did what they were told. As Milo stood up and joined the line, he realized he was the last in the line. He would have to wait for everyone else to go before him. This seemed like a waste, but he would realize, a while after now what a great benefit this actually was. After the first student walked below the hand, everyone saw a site that they would never forget for the rest of their lives... Chapter 4: Leaping Over The Dragons Gate The student beneath the hand did not notice anything for a second, but then like a raging tide, bright red particles poured out of his body. All of the surrounding students were petrified with this sudden occurrence. They didn''t know what was happening, or why such an occurrence would happen. Too the surprise of all the students, the individual beneath the hand had his clothes start to combust. When this happened, a teacher stepped out and snapped his finger. SNAP* Just like that the particles were gone, and the child was fine, at least physically that is. The individual was so surprised he was put into a stupor by it all. He probably would stay like this for at least the next couple days. The person behind the podium, which the students wisely guessed was the head of the school. The headmaster started to speak once again saying. "As you can see with what just happened this is no ordinary school. Even though this is called a recommencement ceremony, it¡¯s more of a reawakening than anything else." The students started to talk amongst each other after hearing this. A reawakening? What is reawakening? They didn''t have to wait long to get an answer. The headmaster continued to talk saying. "You were all born with special gifts, superpowers in a sense. Each individual has a unique gift that only they possess. These gifts are known as a ''Singula''. Others may possess a similar Singula, but each individuals Singula is unique. These powers pass down from generation to generation. Your parents also share similar powers, but yours are inherited from both of them or mainly one. Rarely a child might not gain any one parents power. They sometimes will get both. This will only happen when both parent¡¯s gifts are of similar strength. Even more rare is when you will have gotten neither of their gifts. In such cases the parent¡¯s unique attributes will compliment or not, and they will merge to create a new individual gift. This will not always react positively. Sometimes the unique attribute that is created is not better than the two that made it." The students were completely confused with this. After all, if this was all true why had they never seen their parents use such supernatural capabilities? The headmaster could see their suspicion and continued to say. "I know this seems hard to believe, but what would I gain from lying to you? All that I have said is true. The reason why you have never seen such miraculous things is because of rules we have set in place. These rules prevent the use of our Singula to any person who does not possess a Singula themselves." The students were somewhat convinced by this, but not all of them were. If what he said was true, then they also possessed this Singula that he spoke of. If they did possess such a power, then shouldn''t they have known about them before?Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more. "When I child is born from parents that possess a Singula that power is suppressed within them. The reason we do this is because children can''t always hold back from telling the world about their ''amazing abilities''. Another reason is for the safety of the child. As you saw earlier when this student¡¯s powers were reawakened his clothes started to burn. If a teacher did not step out to suppress the fire that broke out, the student might have died." The headmaster looked over to the student when he said this. The thirteen-year-old was so surprised that he was instantly brought back to reality by the gravity of the situation. He couldn''t help but feel grateful to the teacher that saved his life. After all he would have died without him. What the students did not know, was that what the headmaster had said was not true. A Singula could not hurt the one who possesses it. The reason for this was because a Singula is the person who owns it, and the person who owns a Singula is the Singula. Still though this was a great way for the headmaster to scare the students into not being careless with their newfound gifts. The headmaster then told the child, who had his Singula awakened to hold out his hands. The child who was named Aaron, was scared to do what he was told, but he was even more scared to not comply to the headmasters demands. So, he put out his hands which were now shaking in fright with everything he had when through and heard. The headmaster than told him to think of fire. He then said to imagine it pouring out of his hands. When the child imagined such an odd scenario in his mind, the surrounding students were flabbergasted. When he thought of that happening fire did start to pour out of his hands. It was like there was a bonfire raging above his palms. What perplexed the child the most was that they did not burn like a normal fire would. They actually felt comfortable, it was like the warm that a cote provides a chilly winter day. The flames continued to burn for a few more seconds until they shrunk and disappeared. When that happened Aaron started two sway and then fell unconscious on the floor. One of the teachers picked him up and brought him away. The headmaster then continued to say,"As you have just seen that is a Singula. In the end the child could not sustain the flame because he ran out of energy. The energy used to sustain a Singula is called Vis, this energy is only found in those that have a Singula. Each individual has a different amount of this energy, and each individuals Singula will use a different amount of Vis when in use. The students had a hard time remembering all of this new and fabulous knowledge. If they could reawaken then maybe they could become the superheroes they only dreamed and read about. Sadly, very few would actually be able to accomplish what they were dreaming about. Even fewer would have strength and power like they wished. After all a Singula was determined from birth. Because of this, if one¡¯s parents did not have a strong Singula, then it was practically impossible for their child to also have strong Singula. This was gift that what only mattered was whose child you were. Those from strong families had strong children. Those from weak families could only be cannon fodder and ants to those who carried strength. This year though there would be one individual who would completely turn this belief around, and this individual would not be Milo. The reason for that, was that Milo was from the strongest family here. Milo would have a strong rival in his search for strength. Well, thats at least what the rival will think, but he will be very wrong. Milo will not need to put anyone in his eyes with his Singula''s That will only be possible for Milo if he actually can survive to gain strength though. Who would allow such a strong nemesis to rise up against them. The logical thing to do would be to get rid of future problems when there young and small. After all, if one can''t live past young then they have no future ahead of them... Chapter 5: The Power of The Soul When the students heard what the headmaster had said they swarmed towards the statues. One student was almost trampled because of all of the other''s actions. There were only two people who stayed were they were. These two people were Milo and Azrael. Both of them remembered what the headmaster had said earlier, telling them that they had to stay in single file. What Milo, Azrael, and the rest didn''t know was that they were already being graded on their actions. There actions and reactions would play a big part in their class placement and standing within the school. None of the teachers were surprised with how Milo acted, but they were surprised with how Azrael acted. Azrael was defiantly the dark horse out of these students. Some of the teachers put more faith in Azrael then they did in Milo. Th main reason for this, was that they believed that, they would be able to shape Azrael into what the school needed. This belief could not be farther from the truth. If they wanted, they could look into Azrael''s mysterious past, but saw no need to. This lack of information and laziness on the school''s part would cost many lives in the future. Even if they did know what he did, they would probably want him even more. A mysterious organization like this needed people with Azrael''s talents. What were these talents that they were looking for? The janitorial position, cleaners after all are always in high demand, especially one with so much experience and proficiency at the job. The best student here would definitely be Milo. Milo had the greatest morals and the greatest value. This does not say that any of the other students did not hold as much value, because they didn''t. Milo just held the greatest, or at least he did. Now he had to share that with Azrael. When all of the teachers saw the students crowding towards the statues, they couldn''t help but smile. After all the students were hurting their futures by showing such a greedy nature. When the students got beneath the statues nothing happened. Nothing happened because no teachers allowed them to reawaken the students. This caused the students to be perplexed, as they did not know what was wrong. Agitation started to set in with the crowd of students. You could hear students screaming. "What is wrong?" "Why isn''t it working?" Or the greater out of all the voices. "Where is my ****ing superpower?" The person who said that was instantly remembered by all of the teachers. Even if he did great, because he couldn''t hold his mouth he would suffer for the rest of the time he was here. Finally, the head master stepped in. He didn''t say anything for a while, as he found the whole situation amusing. It''s not every day that you can see people acting in such a way directly infant of you. Especially for such a reason, if he wanted to see this again, he would have to wait till next year. Even then each year was different with all of the children. The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. When he did step in he said. "ALL OF YOU, BACK IN TO SINGLE FILE." He said it in such a booming voice the entire building shook. The children were shocked. They couldn''t imagine the wizardly old man to have such a strong voice. Milo and Azrael didn''t even flinch when this happened. Just using common sense, they knew this headmaster had to be the strongest in the school. If he wasn''t then he wouldn''t be able to maintain leadership over the school. The headmaster continued saying. "All of those who do not follow the rules will be kicked out. I must also mention that they will not have there Singula reawakened." When the students heard this, they were in Horror. If they couldn''t have their Singula reawakened, then they would forever be normal people. Who could continue living their boring average lives knowing such a shocking truth with everything. Because of that they all got into single file once again. There were a few minor scuffles, but they were resolved as fast as they appeared. No-one wanted to test the headmaster any more than they had. Even if they did they were hoping it would be someone else not themselves. The process of Reawakening the students Singula continued once again with both threats and joy hanging over the student¡¯s hearts. The sight of student walking beneath the statues outstretched hand and the particles streaming forth from their bodies was seen again and again by Milo. Rarely a teacher would step forward and snap his fingers to stop the Particles from going to out of control. As it was approaching Milos turn he saw a girl step forward beneath the hand. He could overhear that her name was Rose. She was very beautiful for her age and she seemed to shine like a crystal to Milo. When the statue was activated piercing yellow particle flew from her body at fast speeds. It almost seemed as if they wished to race away from her body as fast as possible. When the teachers saw this many of them raised their eyes in acknowledgement. They were able to tell that this child was special. Over all of the commotion that went on because of this, Milo was not able to hear the rest of her name. After she was done she was moved out by a teacher. All of the students after reawakening were showed out, right after awakening there Singula. The teachers said this was to provide privacy to the students. Finally, there were only two lines left with people in them. And these two lines only had one individual each in them. These two people were Milo and Azrael. when Azrael stepped forward, the person beside the statue said. "Azrael Jones?" To which Azrael replied. "Yes." The person then said. "Your fathers Singula was the refinement of internal strength, your mothers Singula was purification. Azrael didn''t respond to this. The person beside the statue took this as an ok. The person beside the statue then said. "I am about to start the Awakening of your Singula get ready." Azrael only nodded in acknowledgment to the person. When the reawakening started pure white particles started to flow from Azrael¡¯s body profusely. It was like when a dam is opened up and water pours out endlessly. The person was shocked by this abnormal occurrence. He could only imagine, that this was one of the rare times, that both parent¡¯s abilities complemented each other and merged to form a new Singula. The teacher asked what word popped into Azrael¡¯s mind when his Singula was reawakened. Azrael responded with. "Soul." The teachers were shocked by this. The reason for their shock was that no ability had ever existed that dealt with the soul. There hadn''t even been such an ability spoken of in legends... Chapter 6: Invincible Milo watched this entire scenario happen. He wasn''t sure what the Singula that Azrael had, was capable of. Actually no one knew not even the teachers. Whenever a person had a Singula get reawakened they only asked for the word that popped in to their head at the time. The words that popped into the student¡¯s heads had not been their own. It wasn''t their Singula telling them, or even their body, no. It was the statue. Milo would later ask why this could happen, but nobody knew the answer. None of these teachers knew and not even the ancient files in the library had an answer. It wasn''t like nobody had asked the question before, but there was absolutely no information regarding the statues. They had just always been there, for just as long as the school was here. This school was even so old that some of the original documents did not exist as they had rotted away even in a controlled incitement. At least thats what they told Milo... For Azrael the only person who knew what rules, regulations, and restrictions that his Singula had to follow, was only known by himself. These restrictions were the most highly held secret for all things with a Singula. If anybody knew these then they could torment the person to no end. Dying and not knowing the cause would not be surprising if your secrets were leaked. Another thing with Azraels Singula was that it was to scary. The power that it provided was immense and would shock many people. The drawback to this power was just as large. What Azrael needed to do to gain this power was even more scary, if anyone knew what had to be done to gain that power, he would probably be hunted down to no end. The only thing Azrael could take solace in was that nobody knew any of this. Even though he had to tell them his Singula had to deal with the soul, this was only so they could categorize it with other Singulas. Nobody knew what it did, if someone did find out then he would need to silence them. Anyone that knew and tried to tell others to get rid of him, would ultimately help him go farther... Finally, it was Milos turn to be reawakened. As he walked beneath the statue he could sense a chilling cold that emanated from it. Oddly enough there seemed to be a familiarity to it. It almost seemed like he knew this statue. It was like he was there when it was made. He almost had this feeling that he was the one that made it. All of these feelings were hard to contain when looking at the statue. He wasn''t sure why he had all of these strange feelings. He realized that all of this was extremely illogical. How could he know the secret behinds these timeless statues, how could he have been there, when they were made, even starter enough how could he have been the one that made them? This was a feeling that he wasn''t able to shake off no-matter what. The statues did not look like stone. They didn''t even appear to be metal or any other material Milo knew about. If he was to say something about them, he would have to say they looked more like a crystal. Again, he didn''t know why he thought this, but it was that feeling again that seemed to tell him. It was an odd feeling, almost like when a word is on the tip of your tongue, but you can''t say it. It was also a very unpleasant feeling, Milo felt that if he realized these simple facts they would tell him a lot more about the world and Singulas then any one person could. Finally, the teacher beside the statue asked. "Omnia Finem?" To which Milo responded with a. "Yes, that is me." "Omnia, your parents Singulas are Eternal Knowledge which is your fathers, and your mothers is Spatial Reconfiguration." The teacher replied. When the teacher said this, he was taken back. With Singulas like these his parents were probably some of the strongest Singula users alive. This book''s true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience. What Milo didn''t know was that his father was a word renowned doctor and scientist. He used his Singula to get all of that, but he only used it for the betterment of people. Out of things with a Singula his father was probably one of the most knowledgeable. Milos mother was just as impressive. She had an almost invincible Singula for combat. it allowed her to be able to defeat almost any opponent in close combat. She was miserable at long range but in close combat she was unbeatable. When the teacher activated the statue, Milo felt the strangest thing. It was like a prickly sensation all over his body. It wasn''t painful like needles, but more like his body was ''opening up''. He later related it to all the pores on his skin growing larger to allow something either in or out. His pores started to then have particles pour out of them, but at the sometime things seemed to pour in. it was a distinct feeling of all things pouring into his body. It felt like what poured into his body from the outside divided up and started to pour back out looking like particles. At least that was what the majority felt like. One-third of what poured into his body didn''t come back out. It found a spot in his body and just settled down there. When this was happening, his skin started to get loose and dry, but at the same time it became soft and smooth. There was a feeling of contradiction happening all over his body, yet it all seemed to work as one. The closest thing he could relate it to would be the yin and yang. It was two opposites that worked together to increase the whole. The particles that came forth from his body had two different colors. One color was a pitch black. It was even darker than a night with no moon or stars. It was the complete lack of light. Actually, it sucked up the surrounding light growing even darker. The other color was a rich vibrant royal purple. The color only a king would dare wear. Milo looked like he was clothed in black and purple garments. It was like he was the king of all. The teacher that watched all of this happen was shocked. Azrael also had a shocking reawakening, but Milos was at least two times greater. When the reawakening stopped he asked Milo in a shaking voice. "What words did you see?" Milo responded with. "Space, and Knowledge." The teacher wasn''t surprised with this answer. After watching Milo reawakening it would be even more weird if he didn''t acquire both Singula from his parents. What perplexed Milo the most was that there seemed to be a third word beside Space and Knowledge, but there wasn''t, it was more like a weird pixilated word or something. Milo just assumed that he imagined it, or that maybe it was a side effect from reawakening. After his reawakening was done Milo looked over to the headmaster and asked. "Is it possible to be born with three Singulas?" The headmaster looked Milo in the eyes and said. "It is impossible, that is if your human..." Chapter 7: Rose After hearing what the headmaster said, Milo was traumatized. He wasn''t sure that he had three Singulas but he had an awful premonition that he did. He couldn''t tell what it was, he even tried to bring it forth from his body, but nothing happened. Milo eventually came to the conclusion that he either didn''t have such a power, or that it was sealed for whatever reason. The later wasn''t actually too far from the truth. He wasn''t exactly right but was not completely wrong. It was one of those weird cases were you are both wrong and right at the same time. It''s like when you use a slot machine but only get two out of the three in a row, even though you''re close you still can''t do anything with it. The entire time that Milo was going through this Azrael was watching him. Azrael could tell that Milo would be the greatest wall he would have to deal with in his life. Milo might seem invincible with his abilities that he was born with, but Azrael knew he could defeat him with his own Singula. Azrael''s Singula might seem pure and innocent because it deals with the soul. That thought could not be further from the truth though. His power was the darkest one out of all the students. Even though he awakened to a blinding white light, his heart was pitch black. The headmaster could see Azrael looking at Milo like this. He didn''t show a care in the world though. His own belief was that ''only through fire and endless forging can the best sword be made.'' If Milo could not survive adolescence, then he would never grow strong. Only if Milo worked and lived like no one else would he gain peerless strength. After all a strong Singula at birth was a curse for a newly awakened student. This might seem strange, but it wasn''t that surprising really. It takes a lot longer to sharpen a hard steel sword, but a hard steel sword can get sharper than any other. It was the same way with Singulas, especially knowledge and space. They seem invincible in their own categories but in reality, they are almost impossible to strengthen. If an individual could not find the correct things to strengthen their pool of Vis (energy used by Singula) then they would forever be weak. Azrael would have an even harder time strengthening his ability. After all no Soul ability had ever existed before. This was what the headmaster thought at least, but he was wrong. Azraels Singula did not need any Vis, it used something much more sinister as its energy. ============================================================ After all of the students had finished their Reawakening ceremony they went to another room.Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! When Milo and Azrael arrived in the room they could feel the stares of all the students. All of the students knew it was these two students who watched all of their reawakening, yet they had not seen theres. Many of the students felt this was wrong and unjustified but didn''t dare voice their claims to the teachers. Emphasis on to the teachers, many of the student flocked towards Milo and Azrael to ask about there Singula. To the student''s dismay Milo and Azrael weren''t stupid enough to tell them, even if they did know it wouldn''t help them at all. What was most surprising was how Azrael acted during this. Milo acted quite amicably to the students. He avoided the student''s questions and talked about other things with them. This annoyed the students but did not make them overtly angry towards him. Azrael on the other hand was the complete opposite. He forcefully moved through the crowd of students, leaving unjust statements as he went along. This enraged the surrounding students. They were all students of this school after all. How could one student do such a thing, they asked themselves and those around them? Milo was definitely the most surprised by how Azrael acted though. What would Azrael gain from making enemies of almost all the students? It made no sense whatsoever. Azrael seemed like a very logical person to Milo. He acted very taciturn the entire time. So why would he act this way now? Only Asrael himself could understand his own logic, because no one else knew about his Singula. Azrael had a very good reason for all of this. A reason that he could never voice whatsoever. The reason was dependent upon his reawakening, or in more detail his individual Singula. To grow to be as strong as possible he needed people to hate him. If people didn''t hate him he would never have a justifiable reason to do what he needed. Even the hate he was given was a terrible reason for what he would do, but there was no other way to go about it. Finally, it seemed like ages to Milo a teacher started to speak. "Now that you have all Reawakened you are ready to sign up for class. No need to worry about signing up though actually, as we, the school have kindly done it for you." At this statement many of the students felt that something was off. There were only a few that knew this was a good thing for them. The students who knew that were Milo, Azrael, Rose, and a couple other individuals. Everyone else could only help feel a formless pressure that loomed over their future. The teacher continued to say. "Don''t worry about unjust actions or discrimination, we as a school value all of our students and what they do. That is why we believe that each student should work on excelling. This means that it is up to the individual how well they will do at this school." The student that heard this felt relieved. Only the few before truly realized what this statement meant. They were virtually saying that strength was key, those with it will move forward and those without it, can only fall behind. Milo didn''t feel too bad about this as he knew he would be the one excelling. If he wasn''t the one that would excel, then he would probably have a different opinion on all of this. It was a dog eat dog world and those that fell behind stayed behind, being a babysitter would get Milo nowhere. The Teacher continued to speak for a while, but as most of it was too boring Milo didn''t remember it and I didn''t think it was necessary to write down. Then it was like a cool summer breeze when the student heard the teacher stop speaking. They all looked up in anticipation and!!! nothing happened... Well, something did happen another teacher got up to speak. It seemed like the students would die from boredom if this continued any longer. The teacher spoke quickly saying. "You Are now all free to go. Remember the school code and take one of these as you leave." The teacher finished fast before any casualties were sustained in the student body. What the teacher was holding up was a white rectangular box. It had two eyes shown on the cover with an abnormal mesh that seemed to cover them. It appeared to look like futuristic contacts. When all of the students filed out of the building there were teachers beside the entrance calling names. "Azrael, Omnia, Rose, Philip, Ben, Daisy, and Renjamin, all of the students by this name come over here." When Milo looked over to see the group he noticed that it was all of the notable individuals who reawakened. Rose also especially caught his attention. When He walked towards the group the teacher asked. "Omnia?" Milo responded with "Yes, but I am also called Milo." Milo could see Rose looking at him from the corner of his eye. Milo walked up to Rose and asked her for her name. She looked at Milo for a while and responded with "Rose Dux" Chapter 8: Schooling Begins After Milo had met everyone that joined the group, the teacher started to talk. "Now that everyone has made it, I need to tell you what classes you will be attending." When the group of students heard this, they were full of anticipation. They were finally about to begin their schooling. They were all overjoyed and couldn''t wait to learn more about Singulas! Sadly, though this is not what was going to happen. The teacher then continued to say. "You will all be attending mandatory history and science courses." Some of the students in Milo''s group were not sure if he was being serious, history and science? He had to be joking, right? After a few seconds of silence those students knew that he wasn''t kidding. The teacher was being completely dead serious. The students face became paler at the thought of just the prerequisites. After a while they calmed down. They were only 13, there was no way it would be that hard. Once again though they had to face reality. The teacher dashed their hopes and dreams with the final thing he had to say about it. "You are expected to excel in these courses, don''t worry, they will not be terribly hard. The history and science courses are only equivalent to a college doctorate degree. If you fail these courses, you will be removed from the school. Trust me when I tell you this, being removed from the school, would be the least of your worries, were this to happen." Most of the students took this as an empty threat, but Milo did not. Milo could tell there was a lot more to what the teacher was saying. The only reason he didn''t just tell the students, was probably because he was not permitted to. Whatever the reason was, it defiantly wasn''t simple. Milo definitely did not want to test this rule. Even though he was from a notable family, it would not be wise to create trouble. If the school did let Milo off for not following the rules he would gain nothing. Everyone in the entire school would hate him, if such a thing were to happen. He defiantly wouldn''t go far with absolutely no friends. Milo didn''t have any friends yet in the school, but he knew they would be important to have. After all, friends can help you with work, getting money, or almost anything in life. He also had to watch out for enemies. Milo was defiantly to the kind of person to go out of his way to make enemies. This didn''t mean that enemies didn''t find him though. A perfect example of this was Azrael. Milo had done nothing to Azrael, but he could tell that Azrael already hated him. This wasn''t something that Milo could understand. Milo felt that there must be something wrong to hate him for no reason. Milo wasn''t wrong believing this. There was something wrong with Azrael, but he also did have a reason to hate him. Milo didn''t know that Azrael had a reason, but Azrael did.The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation. After all of the classes and things to go with it, everyone was ready to move on. The teacher told the students that. "Now that the class schedule is completed we are ready to assign you to your rooms." Renjamin was confused and asked. "But we never even said when we would take the classes. We didn''t even get a choice. Did you sign us up for this too? This is wrong. I want to sign up for my own classes." When the teacher heard this, he tried to smile as amicably as possible. It didn''t seem like that to Renjamin though. The ''smile'' that the teacher had appeared to be a hideous scowl. It was as if the teacher would swallow any disobedient students whole. To the rest of the students the smile seemed perfectly normal. Because of that they were very confused with how Renjamin was acting. They could see him shaking profusely. There was a continues, stream of cold sweat pouring off of his body. The students could only assume that Renjamin wasn''t feeling well and he was possibly sick. Only Renjamin could feel and see that hideous smile that seemed to consume him. It was a smile that almost sucked him in and destroyed his mind and his soul... The rest of the students during this time were thinking about the rooms they would be staying in. Milo was wondering who he would be maintaining a room with. What he did not want was to stay with Azrael. He didn''t know why but Azrael seemed to put off a horrifying demeanor. It was the feeling of ultimate pain and suffering. It was the feeling of a never-ending torment and absolutely no control. Milo could only pray that he wouldn''t end up with him. What he worried about even more though was Azrael ending up with Rose. He couldn''t put his finger on it, but Rose was somehow connected with Milo. Whatever that connection was he couldn''t allow it to be destroyed by letting her be with Azrael. Milo didn''t need to worry about this though. Considering this was an old classical school, they did not allow a female to stay in a male''s room. They had never had any problems, mainly because everyone was still just thirteen-year-olds, but the school were set in their classical ways. The teacher then started to walk them through the school campus. There were massive towers that seemed to loom above everything and wide buildings which had the appearance of medieval castles. The strangest sight by far was a MASSIVE towering building that was made of pure grayish crystal. This building went up into the sky almost endlessly. Milo wasn''t even able to imagine how long it would take to climb the whole thing. The entire tower was filled with small twinkling white dots that looked like stars. Milo thought that this must have been a reflection from the stars that were currently shining down from the sky. Sadly, they weren''t going to that building so Milo couldn''t observe it any longer. When they finally arrived where they were going, the students were blown away by the sight they saw. It wasn''t the in sheer awe, no, it was the opposite. The boarding rooms are incredibly plain. The building that they were housed in was also very plain. It was one large stone building with two wings one for the males, the other was for the females. There was only one problem Milo and his roommate wouldn''t be staying here... Chapter 9: Haunted Dormitories? Milo wasn''t told that he wasn''t going to stay here, at least not yet. Actually, not even the school was sure until after the day. When all of the students were standing in front of the places they would be staying at, the teacher told them. "As you have probably figured out this stone building behind me will be where you will be staying for the remainder of your schooling. I must regretfully inform you that you will all be split up in groups of two. These groups will either only have boys or only girls." The students had been waiting to hear this. The roommate that they would have to share with, for the remainder of their time at the school. They weren''t sure who they were going to get, but it would be very important. If they could get someone that was similar it would be a great blessing. If they got someone drastically different, it would be the greatest curse to befall them. The teacher continued to speak, saying, "These groups will be given rooms together, women on the left and men on the right. If Women go to the men''s side, there will be drastic consequences. If any men go to the women''s side, there will also be massive consequences. These dorms are only for sleeping and studying. There will be no parties or rough housing allowed. These dorms are one of the newest buildings on campus, so you better not misuse them." The students were confused by the teachers last sentence. Newest building on campus? How was that possible? The building looked absolutely ancient. Why would the school build a building with such an old design and on top of that such old looking materials? One of the students asked the teacher the question that was on all of their minds. "Teacher if this is the schools newest building why does it look so old? If you recently made it, why not use modern materials? After all modern materials are way stronger and better than stone." When the teacher heard this, he held back making a smile, but he failed. He then started to laugh profusely. After he calmed down he said. "You are quite silly Ben. Just because I said this was the most recently made, it does not mean it was made not too long ago. Actually, it was made very long ago. Well, very long ago to you. Time can get pretty convoluted here or to those with a Singula. This building was made a little over 600 years ago. I still remember when they laid the ground work for it..." The students were absolutely flabbergasted when they heard this. It wasn''t the age of the building that surprised them. Well, it also was that, 600 years ago and that the newest building? What really surprised them was the age of the teacher. He was over 600 years old. The teacher was over 600 years old and he still looked so young? If what he said was true how old was the headmaster that looked like he was ancient. All of the students shuddered at this thought.Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! They could only imagine how old the headmaster was. The amount of knowledge a person would have if they lived that long would be horrifyingly scary, if you were his enemy it would be incredibly dangerous. The amount of power someone like that would have would also be equally horrifying. The headmaster was as the children thought incredibly strong, but he was not the strongest. In front of those with true strength the headmaster could only put his tail between his legs. One of those "truly strong" was one of the student''s parents. Who''s parent? Milos parent obviously, Milos mother was incredibly strong. If Milo followed a similar path to his mother, he would also become incredibly strong. There was only one problem with this though. Firstly, Milo couldn''t follow the same path as his mother. The main reason for this is that his mother completely cleaned out the path she took. Secondly, Milos Singula was different than his mother''s Singula. You may ask how considering they both are space manipulation. When Milo reawakened, there was no number in front of the word space. When his mother reawakened, there was a 3 before the word space. The only reason why the school didn''t question this was because, they assumed Milos was the same, but he just didn''t say the 3. This was very wrong, and it would surprise many people later on. Finally, the teacher started to split up the students into their groups. The teacher told the students. "I will now start to split you all up into groups. I will start with the guys first, Phillip and Azrael. You two will be sharing a room, your room is A32." When Milo heard this, he was overjoyed. He hadn''t been put in a room with Azrael, Milo wondered if the school knew it would be too dangerous to put them together. This was actually right; the school didn''t put them together because they knew it would cause problems. The teacher started to say the rest of the groups. "Ben your roommate is not here yet, but he will get here soon. You and your roommate will be staying in room A64. Daisy and Rose, you will also both be sharing a room. Your room is D33. Here are all of your student keys. Enter through the doors directly behind me." After saying this he handed out keys, these keys looked like a thick crystal credit card, he gave these to all of the students. Well, not all of the students. Milo and Renjamin were the only two that were left out from the rest of the group. Milo was confused by what he saw as a mishap, so he asked the teacher. "Why is Renjamin and I left out from the rest of the group?" The teacher responded with. "Sadly, we ran out room this year and don''t have any extra rooms. The last time this happened was over 600 years ago. We have decided to put you in the haunted dormitories. Don''t be scared the builders just had a very bad naming sense. The place you will be rooming out is also one of the oldest buildings ever made here so be careful." Milo asked. "Old? How old exactly?" The teacher responded to Milo saying. "No one really knows, not even the headmaster. It was made long ago, Millions of years ago, who knows maybe longer than that." Milo was intrigued by such an old building, ''there must be so much to learn and discover there'' he thought. Renjamin did not hold a similar mindset to Milo, he was horrified by what the teacher said. Both people had different ideas and only one of them was right. Which one you might ask? I will tell you, the one who had the correct mindset was Renjamin... Chapter 10: Beware The Darkness The teacher didn¡¯t actually take Milo and Renjamin to their room. He did for the other students, but he left them out. He said it was because he had to go work on the upcoming classes, but Milo knew that was just a lie. Milo could see the fear that was on the teachers face when he spoke about the ''Haunted Dormitories.'' Milo wasn''t really sure how to feel with all of this. Was he supposed to be afraid like the teacher and Renjamin. He couldn''t help but think how he had never actually seen the building before, so why would be scared of it. This mindset that Milo had, was both a blessing and a curse. Milo would suffer great lengths because of this mindset. Fear is not a bad thing, it is there after all to keep us alive in dangerous situations. Milo would also make incredible gains because of this uncanny outlook on life. Only by living through and not backing down can one profit in a deadly situation. Milo and Renjamin had to walk to their dorms on their own. The only nice part about this was that they could look around the world that the school was in. They weren''t pressured by the teacher tasty in the group and not fall behind. They were also given a map. This map wasn''t supposed to be given to the students. It was a facility map that showed the entire campus. This was also no ordinary paper or plastic map it was electronic. It showed the ENTIRE school campus which was mind boggling large. How large you might ask? It was so large that it took up around three percent of this entire world. Three percent might not sound like a lot, but only three percent had actually been explored in millions of years. When both of them were walking together Renjamin asked Milo in a shaking voice. "Do you really think were we will be staying is haunted?" Milo responded to Renjamin not really caring about how he would feel. "Yea probably, I couldn''t imagine any other reason for the teacher to say that. This school is already so strange and fantastic '' too hard to think it might be haunted." These were the most non-reassuring words Renjamin had ever heard. He was expecting Milo to say it wasn''t true, but he was completely wrong. Now Renjamin just felt even more scared, he was even shaking profusely. They were both taking minor detours on the way while walking towards their rooms. Milo wanted to backtrack and look at the crystal tower they passed before, but Renjamin didn''t want to and wouldn''t let Milo go. They saw a multitude of beautiful sights along the campus. In one spot there was a massive bird-cage that looked to be miles long. When the both of them looked inside, it was full of different kinds of birds. There were emerald-green ones, blazing purple ones, and the most amazing was one that looked to be the size of an elephant and had every color of the rainbow and more on it. This wasn''t the only sight they saw though. The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. Support the author by reading it there. A forest stretched out for as far as one could see. It was a deep piercing green that almost blinded one to look at. The trees were so tall they looked like they would pierce the heavens. There was a thick fog that seemed to permeate the entire forest, it almost seemed to be trapped within as none of it leaked out. There were sounds washing over the two of them when they were walking by. Loud guttural roars rang in their ears. Almost unnoticeable squeaks were heard coming from different directions, it sounded like the small furry friends were holding a conversation. Squawks rang out above the trees as the birds were singing their evening songs to the joy or dismay of the animals bellow. A sense of tension seemed to permeate the area and a slight hint fear could be felt. Something only Milo noticed was an almost unrecognizable bloodlust that locked on to the both of them as they walked by. Even though they could hear all these noises not a single animal could be seen. It was almost as if they were hiding from them, which they were. The animals at the edge of the forest were horrified of humans as they knew about their dreadful Singulas. When Milo and Renjamin were almost passed the forest, Renjamin looked into the forest and saw a ghostly apparition. Renjamin was petrified at this sight and couldn''t even form words to speak. Milo looked over at Renjamin and saw his profuse shaking only get worse, he also noticed a cold sweat pouring off of him. Milo was confused by this, so he looked into the forest also, what he saw was trail that winded in to the darkness. There was a sign besides path with archaic symbols written on it. Milo had never seen these symbols but for some reason could understand what it said. "Beware the darkness young one. For those that look, can never look away. Beware the darkness young one. All those who see, shall never see again. Beware the darkness... For when one stares into the abyss, the abyss stares back at thee." Milo was confused by this cryptic message that was left on the sign. Were the sign said "beware the darkness" for the third time it appeared to be carved away. Milo had no idea why he could read this, or what any of it meant, but he did have this feeling that what it said was incredibly important. Oddly enough it felt like just this one sign held more significance than everything he had learned in his entire life. Milo looked over to Renjamin and asked him. "Renjamin can you read what that sign says." Milo pointed to the sign when he said this, Renjamin followed Milos finger with his eyes where it was pointing. Renjamin had a quizzical look on his face and asked Milo. "Milo are you ok, there is no sign were your pointing only a slight dent in the ground." Milo was just about to refute Renjamin when he looked back to where the sign was. What Renjamin said had been right there was only a slight indent in the ground with a square piece of stone in the middle of it. Milo felt he must have made up what he had seen, but life is not so simple. Like a lightning bolt striking him, he realized the stone where he thought the sign was, was the same material as what the sign was made with. Did he really make it up? Chapter 11: Litost When the day was getting darker Milo and Renjamin finally arrived to where their dorm was located. Oddly enough when it got dark the stars also disappeared from the sky. They did not slowly fade away, but it was a sudden and abrupt departure. It seemed as if the stars themselves were scared away for whatever reason. Milo looked over to where they would be staying and couldn''t help but exclaim. "My goodness, it really does look haunted!" This was taxing on Renjamin''s already fragile demeanor, with everything that had happened he was not of a stable mind. The building did look extremely haunted though. It might sound weird to say it "looked" haunted, but that is really the best way to describe how it actually looked. The building had that clich¨¦ "haunted" look. It looked just like it was pulled out of a horror movie. There was a very good reason for this too. Some horror movie directors had actually gone to this school. Because of this they had tried to emulate apart of the school in there works. The piece they usually decided to go with was this school; therefore, this school was the original and defining "horror house" Neither Milo nor Renjamin knew this though, so they could only gasp when they saw how it looked. Renjamin turned, looked to Milo and said. "Milo... There is no way this building is actually haunted right?" Milo didn''t look at Renjamin and kept on studying the building, when he responded with. "I would imagine so, I can''t understand why a teacher would lie to their students over such a petty thing. The teacher also seemed genuinely scared to come here, this further, makes my idea more likely." Renjamin didn''t respond to Milo. What Milo had just told him seemed to be horrifying to know and still be able to stay calm. The both of them had nothing to do except go find their room. As they were both walking towards the building, they needed to push a large steel gate that said. "Litost Dormitories Est. XC~~" When they opened this door to enter the courtyard they heard a soul reaching sound. "SCRRRRREEEEEEECHHH!" The loud noise of the gate that hadn''t been oiled in eons made Renjamin jump in fright. To Milo it seemed like a normal sound of metal rubbing against metal. To Renjamin''s imaginative ear though, it seemed like the screeching call of a crying banshee. The reality of this situation was, that it was entirely possible for it to be either of those.... Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! Walking through the courtyard they could see twisted trees on either side. They appeared to have been growing for almost eternity but were chocked at the base by vines that tried to grow up their trunks. The trees looked to be twisted like a length of rope and had spikes protruding from its trunk. The spikes seemed to keep the vines at bay and prevented them from overtaking the trees. The path to the duos surprise was impeccable. It looked like it was swept and cleaned every day. There were no pieces of cobblestone missing, there were no tree roots protruding from its surface, and it appeared to be bleached white by ages of use. This astounded the two as they expected it be in disrepair after countless years of never being used. All of these sights were visible to the both of them because of a slight glow that came from the building directly ahead. It glowed with an ambience that reached the farthest corners of the courtyard. This light was only visible when the both of them had entered the courtyard. Strangest of all was that the light reached all areas but was the same brightness everywhere. Another thing was that there were no shadows cast anywhere, even though the light defiantly came from the building and not directly above. Milo and Renjamin didn''t know how to describe this sight except one word that they both said unanimously. "Magical." One simple word that seemed to encapsulate this beautiful yet somehow tragic scene. Renjamin quickly said after seeing all of this. "We should probably hurry up and get to our rooms. I doubt the school would know, but there is technically a curfew we have to follow. Also, we should find our rooms before it gets any later tonight. I don''t know why but I have this growing feeling that we need to hurry, it oddly enough feels like our life depends on it." Milo looked at Renjamin and said. "I have also had the same feeling for a while. It''s odd that we have felt the same feeling, the only difference I I feel like if we stay we could see and know things that we could not see or Know otherwise. If you think we should go then let''s go then." When the both of them arrived before the door of the building, they put their hands out to open it. Before they could open it the door just opened on its own. Renjamin jumped back when he saw this. He was just about ready to run away and could barely prevent himself from doing it. Milo held back from laughing when he saw this, He said to Renjamin. "Renji you need to calm down, it''s not like there is anything dangerous. You need to act "alive", don''t cower in fear just because you''re scared. Use that fear and adrenaline to act smart and get things done." When Renjamin heard this, he started to get upset and retorted back. "Well, why aren''t you scared? Isn''t this scary, what is wrong with you?" Milo looked at Renjamin with fear in his eyes and responded with no emotion. "I can''t feel fear. Ever since I was young I have never known or felt such an emotion." He then walked into the building right after saying this to Renjamin. Renjamin felt terrible after hearing this. There was no way to respond to such a statement. No matter what he could think of none of it was able to actually add to what Milo had just said. After Milo walked into the building Renjamin saw something sweeping down from the ceiling. He saw a metallic "Blob" that swung down and slammed into Milo. After seeing this everything become bloody, there was blood absolutely every were. Renjamin couldn''t help but scream out. "WHAT JUST HAPPENED... Milo? Milo had died. Chapter 12: Dead? To clarify with what had happened in the previous chapter, milo is not dead. Milo is not dead now that is, but that does not mean that he did not die, confusing? As Milo walked into the building he saw giant "printer" fall from the floor above. There was no way to dodge from this impending disaster, so he suffered the fate of being squashed. When all of this was happening though, Milo had a strange stirring feeling in his head. Milo assumed this feeling came from the printer falling on top of him. What this feeling came from was drastically different than a printer. It was his elusive third singula that had awakened. He didn''t know this at the time, but he would see the benefits of it in the future. What actually did happen was that the printer did squish him flat. Milo noticed that when the printer fell on him, that he could see himself getting slowly crushed under its weight. He then noticed soon after that the printer was defying gravity. It started to go back up in the and fell down to the side of him. Milo wasn''t sure how any of this happened, but he was overjoyed that he did not die to a stupid thing such as a printer. Renjamin during all of those was scared out of his mind. He had no idea what was happening and why Milo had died. Renjamin was continuously yelling out. "Milo, Milo, where are you? Oh, Milo I''m so sorry please just please come back." Milo didn''t know what to think of all this. Renjamin was seeking about him like he was a long-lost lover. It was pretty weird to hear him speaking like this, when he had seen him trying to flirt with a girl earlier. Seriously, the kid was only thirteen, why was he flirting with someone? Renjamin was to scared to go into the building because of what he had seen happen to Milo. He thought that he should go back and tell the school, but he was to scared to walk back in the dark. He wasn''t sure what was going on with everything, but he knew it wasn''t wise to walk back to the school when it was dark out. Renjamin was confused with how Milo acted earlier especially with the sign that he claimed to see. Renjamin wasn''t sure how to deal with what Milo said but he knew Milo wasn''t stupid. He also had this gut feeling that what Milo claimed to see probably wasn''t just an illusion. Finally, Renjamin worked up the guts to go into the dormitory. When he walked into the building, nothing happened. It was extremely anticlimactic, he expected some "otherworldly" experience to happen, but nothing did. He felt like he was being a little paranoid with everything, but with everything he had seen today he realized he wasn''t.A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation. When he got through the door what he didn''t see was Milo. He was petrified when he didn''t see Milo, where was he? Was he dead, he wasn''t sure, but he knew it couldn''t be good. There was no real reason for Renjamin to get upset though, after all Milo was completely fine. Renjamin started to have strange day dreams, or they were night dreams because it was dark now. He kept on replaying in his mind what he saw earlier. He wasn''t entirely sure what he had seen, and it almost seemed like he didn''t see any of it. It was defiantly a strange feeling to say the least. He kept on calling out Milos name hoping to hear something or anything that would signify that he was fine. When he kept on calling he finally heard Milo exclaim. "Renjamin, you need to get up here right now, this is amazing." He was put into a stupor when he heard this. Milo was yelling for his name and he sounded completely fine. Did he really see anything earlier or was it all a dream? He couldn''t tell what was real and what was not, he was so confused everything seemed to be illusionary. Renjamin looked around trying to find were Milos voice had come from. When looking around he got a good look at the building he was in. There were large double stairs in front of the door. The stairs had a slight turn to them as they went up to the top floor. They were made out of curly mahogany with Patagonia rosewood balusters. The handle was a creamy maple that had a beautiful aged look. He looked down and saw that there was knotty pine with deep gouges and scuffs. He could only imagine the story this building and floor would say if they could talk. When he looked to the side and saw the wall he was taken back by the sight. The entire wall was full of hand prints. They were extremely small but looked identical to a young adult''s. They were all arranged in lines under different symbols that seemed to separate them all. Renjamin slowly walked to the wall and set his hand up against it. He then started to scream profusely. "AHHHHH, it burns, my skin it''s going to burn off." Milo was upstairs when he heard this, he ran down the stairs calling out to Renjamin. "Renjamin are you ok, where are you? What happened for you to scream like this?" When he made it down the stairs he could see Renjamin holding his hand while he was on the floor passed out. Milo could smell a slight burnt wood smell, he looked at Renjamin''s hand, but it looked complete fine. He then looked at the wall and saw all of the small handprints, except now there was an out of place large one. This handprint was the same size Renjamin''s even down to the slight turn of his ring finger. Above this hand was "YC~~." There weren''t any other handprints that had this above them. The first set of handprints only had two with, "XC~~" hanging above them. One of the handprints under it also had a slight turn in the ring finger also. The two handprints started to light up with a slight golden glow, but it soon disappeared. Milo then saw a slight almost intangible redline linking these two hand prints together, but when he blinked it disappeared. Milo felt like the saying, "I''ll believe it when I see it" to be laughable right now. It seemed that his eyes were the only thing he couldn''t trust in today. Milo was unsure why, but he had a feeling that he also should put his hand on the wall. When he put it on the wall there was no burning feeling, at least not right away. When it did start to burn though, it wasn''t painful. When he took his hand off the wall. A similar thing happened to him as it did Renjamin, a hand print started to light up then two, then three, all of a sudden, they all started to shine with a splendorous gold. Milo was forced to close his eyes because of how bright it was. He started to pass out from the sheer brilliance of it all, while he was blacking out he could hear a trembling voice say. "How is such a thing possible? Who are you... Why are you here?" Chapter 13: The Minds World When Milo blacked out everything did not go dark as he thought it would, instead there was light like a spear perching his inner mind. This light searched around in Milos head but was stopped by a formless mass. This mass didn''t have any image but was clearly visible. It was like a grey fog settling over water, except it was also the water beneath. It changed continuously not being liquid, gas, or a solid. The light kept on trying to break apart the formless mass but couldn''t succeed. With each attempt it made it was slowly dwindling and being eaten up by the formless mass. Milo didn''t feel any pain during this but instead felt a cool warmth spread throughout his mind. He could tell that this pulsating mass was a part of him just as much as he was a part of it. This mass determined his past, his future, and also the present. When the light was being complete destroyed he heard the same voice that spoke earlier. "Such a thing should not exist; such a being should not survive." Milo was confused with what the light said, was he talking about him? Why did it call him a being and not a human? Milo then called out to the fading light. "Why do you say such things? I have done nothing and am a simple child." The voice responded back to Milo as the light was just about to disappear. "No, you are the harbinger of all and the daemon of destruction¡ Wait how can I fell such contradicting things? Are you the...." Before it could finish speaking it had been swallowed up by the formless mass and disappeared forever. Milo would not know what it had to say until many years from now. By that point though, it would be too late to change what had already happened. The past was set, and the future was predetermined by someone. Only the few can break away and live a new life not lived by any other. A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. When the light had finally disappeared there was silence, absolute silence. Milo felt like the silence was the most serene thing there was. It was a peaceful and refreshing feeing that let Milo think clearly. After everything that had happened Milo felt like he was able to think more clearly than before, it felt like his mind was able to think and process faster. Milo noticed that everything started to blur. He had a hard time standing and soon fell down. Falling down is an odd thing to say, mainly because he was already unconscious. When Milo cam too, it was still dark outside and Renjamin hadn¡¯t awoken yet. Milo went over to Renjamin and tried to wake him up. ¡°Renjamin, psttt, hey wake up!¡± Renjamin muttered, ¡°Noooooo¡ I¡¯m sleeping just leave me alone MOMMM!¡± Milo was so confused with this. Mom? He wasn¡¯t his mom! What was wrong with Renjamin? Milo yelled at the top of his lungs into Renjamin¡¯s ear, ¡°WAKE UP RENJAMIN, IF YOU DON¡¯T YOU WILL DIE!!! BAD THINGS ARE COMING, AND THEY WANT TO EAT YOU!!!! Milo had never seen someone jump up so fast. Renjamin looked around in terror and kept on muttering. ¡°Where are they? Where are they? WHERE ARE THEY?!¡± After he finished saying this, there was complete silence. Milo could only imagine how awkward and stupid Renjamin felt right now. He definitely did not want to have to be the one who acted in that way. The both of them didn¡¯t have time to be horsing around. They both needed to get to their rooms and sleep in preparation for tomorrow. In the morning, they would have to walk back to the campus, for classes that would be starting. They also needed to get there early in case they wanted to get breakfast. Milo and Renjamin were still young they definitely could not cook breakfast for themselves. The school provided breakfast, lunch, and diner to all the students. The food might not be the same as what they are used to, but it would be just as good. The school tried to have a diverse and large variety of food for the students. None of this would matter though if the both of them didn¡¯t wake up early enough. After the both of them were completely awake they headed up the stairs. The building they would be staying in was huge. They were the only people who would be staying tin the building. Because of this they could stay in whatever room they wanted. Milo and Renjamin decided to stay in the same room because it would be easier to talk to each other. It also made it easier to get to each other in case of emergency. They decided to stay on the fourth floor. What confused them both was that on the outside there was no fourth floor. They could only see what looked like a third floor from the outside. This floor was also the largest out of all the floors. There was one main hallway going down the center with doors branching off to each side. They both decided to go with the first door to the right. Both of them didn¡¯t know what was in the room, but right when they opened up the door, it looked like a normal room with two beds and dressers. What they didn¡¯t see was what they needed to see most though. When the door was opened everything moved by a very small amount. It was so small that neither of them realized it, when it happened. There was also a little bit of smoke that seemed to dissipate after the door opened up. This was no ordinary smoke, it wasn¡¯t even smoke at all. No one was really sure what it was actually. Some would call it a ghost, a spirit, or an aberration, all of these guesses would be wrong. It wasn¡¯t any of these because it wasn¡¯t really anything. If it was to be defined, it would be a sentient nothingness. It was neither real nor was it anything fake. The two wouldn¡¯t have to worry about it until they fell asleep. Milo was the first to walk in the room and Renjamin soon followed in after him. They looked at the beds and saw they were made immaculately and didn¡¯t even have dust on them. This was odd and creepy to the both of them, but they were too tired to dwell on it now. The duo laid down and slowly drifted into sleep¡
