《Orb Of Oblivion [Dungeon Story RE-WRITE]》
Chapter 1: Transported to a New World
Ah well, I suppose it had come to this... Such is life!
Ned Kelly
You had to wonder why in this scorching heat, were two men intensely locking eyes. Their white see-through shirt was drenched in sweat as they moan out loudly. Rolls of sweat could be seen dripping down their strong muscular body like a spring oak dew rolling down a wet juicy green leaf and onto the cold hard ground.
''Pah pah pah''
The loud clapping sound echoed throughout the area, the two men were swinging their tools with such power! Grunting heavily with oompf!
"Ah... Oh...Hummpft...Ugh...Fuck!"
Back and forth power struggle between two muscular men, hundreds were watching in awe. Such raw masculine public display! Such a thing was out in the open for all to see!
How the ball rubs against the tool, so beautiful! The tool wacks the ball with vigour and might, sending the ball flying in a rush!
''Pah''
This was, unfortunately... not the sweet lovemaking of two men, but a well-known international game of tennis.
''40 love''
"Yes!"
The six-foot-tall, French man was sporting a wide grin, his pearly white teeth was shining brightly, blinding the opposition, who in turn was sulking heavily. This opposition was a short five foot six, Italian. His face was gloomy, and often distorting between pain and frustration.
The ball had speeded past the Italian and had drifted outwards towards a tall young man, six-foot-two, dark medium sized hair, smooth skin, his dark browneyessparkled withinnocence.
Therehewas at the edge of the court, a ball boy, well technically hewas nowan adult. He turned18 just recently, but ball boy is what hisprofession iscalled.
Hisdripping sweat sparkles as the sunshine rays¡¯ brush againsthisskin with warmth. He hurriedly ran towards the rolling tennis ball with speed just to scoop it up skilfully andthen placed the ball inside his blue indigo shorts pocket. He looked to be a professional ball boy whilehe stoodtallatthe edge of the field withhishands behind my back. His handsome vigour often distracts woman and girls from the tennis match, some even smiled and winked towards him.
Heloved this job, but he felt a little jealous, even envious of the two professional players. They made it big, while he was a little bit short of skills. The ball boy also wondered why he didn''t train enough, but half of his focus and passion was into video games. He cursed himself for being stupid. He was trying to be popular among peersinstead of maintaining and increasing his tennis skill.
He also had skills in games, and in this one MOBA game, he had ranked into challenger.Hisskills wereunfortunately a few levels short of making itinto the professional scene. If only had he chose oneprofession and focused on it. But he split his attention into two major paths. He also fooled around with others a lot in his spare time instead of putting in extra practicein one of those pathways.
He thought thatit shouldn''t matter too much, because he was still young and talented with a lot of different potential options going forhim in life.
Hisname is David Lee, an adopted orphan from China, but he didn''t know anything about his birth family. He only vaguely knows that they were all murdered, and that he was the last to live.
.........
When he was little, he always cried a lot, causing a lot of pain for the workers at the orphanage. They pitied this little child but rejoiced when he was chosen by a well-off Australian family. The workers hurriedly accepted the cash and happily waved the annoying little cry-baby away. That child didn¡¯t know any better and innocently waved back towards the workers.
Flying had scaredhimstiff, but after he had been in the plane for a few hours, he settled down under the soothing care of his newfound parents. The roaring engine and the shaky plane still scared him to pieces every now and then, his even freaked out when his ears popped. His crying had hurt the ears of every passenger and they couldn''t help but curse bitterly under their breath.
As soon as he got to his new home, his eyes opened wide in shock, in front of him was a hugemodern style mansion. It was painted white, the sun shine reflected off the building and into his eyes, causing him wince cutely. His new dad picked him up to show him around. The boy went giddy from happiness and bliss as he hugged his dad as he was carried. The boys¡¯ eyes went wide as he saw the grand big open space, so much room to roam, a large clear pool, a giant cinematic tv, fridge filled with junk food to the brim! And what sent him almost flying to heaven was the kid park in the backyard, a giant slide and swings.
But what made his new dad smile the brightest was that the boy wanted to know what that area at the side was. It was a tennis court,a sportDavid Lee has neverheard ofbefore, he was curious and wanted to know what the heck tennis was.
It wasalmost like heaven as he grewuphere. His parentswere professional athletics, tennis stars. Which gothim playing the sport. He was talented in this area which pleased his parents, but he was slacking in training and didn''t make the cut with the nationaltennisagency.
His parents wanted him to surround with the professional tennis scene, they wanted him to have a strong understanding, and wanted him to have friends who played tennis. And so, with hisparents social standing and background, they managed to score him job with the national tennis agency, a ball boy, paid $21.95 per hour, it was decent enough.
.........
Hecouldn''t help but shake his head out of a daze as he sensed a malicious gaze lingering on him. There were two dark brown eyes staring at him maliciously. David Lee eyed the man with a confused look, his first thought was that the Italian was checking him out, but the gaze was filled with hostility. David Lee shook his head while not knowing how he had offended him.
Maybe it was because David Lee was too handsome, and the audiencewere paying more attention tothat ball boythan they were of him, a professional tennis player, a star!
The short Italian man snorted in disdain, his eyes looked atthe ball boywith taunting eyes before focusing upon the match, throwing up the ball to serve.
''Pah''
The ball bounced bodacious over the swinging net, the wind blew hard as the clear sky turned cloudy. The French man hadsuperior athletic skills, speed and power. He smashed down the tennis racket with force, forcing the Italian back and barely able to return the deadly shots. The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
''Pah''
The Italian made a huge mistake because he had hit the ball too softly. The ball flew up into the skywhich made itan easytargetfor the French player.
''Boom''
The stricttennisumpire watched closely. The audience watched with everlasting eager. The broadcasting camera zoomed in capturing this iconic moment. The French man had hit the tennis ball with such force and a boomingsoundhad startledthestadium.
It was a monstrous volley attack. The ball went flying towards the corner of the opposition side, which made the Italian cried out in alarm. He took a huge leap towards the ball withhisracket reaching outwards. The racket barely tipped it,and the ball bounced off the edge of the rackets. The ballflew out towards the audience anda girl happily caught the ball, she showed it off by waving it into the air, smiling and laughing.
This caused the Italian to crease his brow in anger.
"Game, Set and Match!"
The umpireannounced loudly whichcaused a wave of cheers from the audience, they stood up clapping wildly, cheering for the winner of the match.
The winner jumped up in immense joy, seconds later, he was surrounded by a swarm of people all congratulating him. While the loser was left alone, slumping down in exhaustion and defeat. He angrily threw his racket in a random directing. The racket flew it swiftly into the air.
''Dong!''
"AHHHHHHHH"
"Oh my god!"
A few spectators screamed out in alarm as a young man was laying down on the ground with his head crack open. There was a continuous stream of blood pouring out of the wound.
Hecould barely maintain his consciousness as the pain was too much to bear, and he was extremely dizzy from being stunned with a concussion because of the racket brutal impact.
The Italian man face looked like one in deep shock, but his eyes slit as he sneered inside his mind. Obviously, he was not remorseful at all!
The camera turned sideways toward the bleeding young man as he was being carried away by paramedics. The young man¡¯s mind was pitch black. He could barely hear audible mumbling, the sound was at least familiar, his adopted parents. His mom was crying, his sad be dad beside her also crying, but he was trying to comfort her as they watch the life of the boy they raised slip by.
David Lee really wanted to wake up and say that everything is fine, but he felt himself fall deeper into the dark abyss, the darkness surrounds him wholeheartedly. And then his body went cold.
''Beep, beep, beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep''
"I''m sorry," The doctor said sadly causing the two parents to break down over the bloodied dead body of their son
.........
A ray of white shining light blinded his eyes as soon as the ball boy got up. Looking around in confusion he sees himself in a bright white like terminal room.
¡®Where am I?¡¯ He thought with confusion, perhaps he didn¡¯t die?
"Hello¡ Yoo~hoo! over here boy!" A sharp sexy voice echoed throughout the terminal room.
Fang Li turned around slowly, only to see a smart looking lady in a black short work dress with a diamond shaped face, her long black hair tied into a neat little bun, she looked like a naughty school teacher that is commonly found in an adulterous flick.
¡®Maybe she¡¯s a thot?¡¯ He thought with a weird expression.
He eventually saw that the busty woman who was happily welcoming him, was now frowning with dry anger, her sharp eyebrows was extremely menacing which caused him to feel pressured.
He suddenly thought that she had heard what he was thinking, but then laughed that idea off softly.
"Uhh, where am I?" He said towards the only person around in sight.
"You died and now you are in the afterlife, hummpft" She said, with a bratty attitude, while crossing her arms and tapping her high heels in slight anger.
"I died?" He said confusingly, his face was one of disbelief. He quickly searched around the terminal looking for a hidden camera.
¡®This is probably a stupid prank¡¯ He thought.
"Yes, you died not long ago, but you died to an ordinary tennis racket, tsk tsk" She sneered mockingly.
"What?" He briefly remembered what happened just moments ago and thought that he should be in hospital.
¡°Hummmpft, If I say you are in the afterlife, you are in the afterlife, this goddess word is always the truth!¡± She said while feeling very annoyed as she sensed his further doubt.
"Oh, and by the way, that two-horned red dragon ruby bracelet is an afterlife token, I guess you must have been lucky getting your hands on it" She said, changing the mood and subject quickly.
"Oh, this?" He said looking at the bracelet onhis arm. This bracelet was an heirloom of his deceased family, he couldn¡¯t research anything about it, or find any facts about his family. His birth family was shrouded in secrets.
"Ok so what now?" He said with a rude and impatient tone. He had enough of this ¡®prank¡¯ and wanted to go home. But his attitude made her furrow her brows.
"Well now you need to make a hard choice, because not everybody gets to be sent to this room, so you only have three options to choose from.
Option 1: Choose to be sent to the yellow river where the underworld gods will decide what to do with you, be it reincarnate, go to heaven, or hell. It is up to them, but just a warning. If you have been sent to heaven, you will enjoy an endless blissful life in a holy realm under the protection of a god. If you are sent to Hell, life will be full of torture and pain for all of eternity. If you have reincarnated in this option, you will have forgotten all your current memories, and be born a new person.
Option 2: Reincarnate into a random world, taking over a dead body that syncs with your soul, take over their life including family, wealth, memories and their abilities, be it stats, cultivation or others type of power.
Option 3: Transmigration, you will have your old body revived, and you will be sent to a random world, but because you will be in that world with nothing but a clean slate, you will be granted one random perk.
"Well uhh, hmmmm¡± David Lee stuttered around for a few minutes, making the goddess grow more impatiently before ultimately deciding on a choice.
¡°I would have to choose to transmigrate¡ who would want to change out of this handsome body," He said shamelessly while rolling his eyes.
"Well ok, bye" She said happily while enthusiastically waving him goodbye, as if she is very glad to see him go. But why did David lee find this scene familiar? He waved her goodbye too.
"Bye..." He said, playing along with the ¡®prank¡¯ but he felt something strange happening behind him. He turned his head around in shock, because he saw a huge spatial tear in the middle of the air and a violent purple void opened, the portal swallowed him which caused him to scream out in fright.
.........
In a very desolate area was an old run-down barn, a mysterious purple spatial portal had appeared inside of it, causing the fluffy foolish sheep to tremble in fear. The portal rumbled quietly for a few seconds before it spat out a frightened human.
As the human fell hard onto the dirty ground, the portal disappeared into a flash, and poof, it was completely gone as if it hadn¡¯t ever been there before.
David Lee was now in an old worn down smelly barn, still dumbfounded with what just happened. He was unable to comprehend what just happened, but then remembered everything that happened in the white terminal room.
¡®Everything was true!?!¡¯ He thought while trembling in fear.
Then suddenly a bright holographic screen appeared in his mind which scared the bajesus out of him. A message popped up before him, it was a little holographic note
''Congratulation, for the random perk raffle, you had won a title... Ball Handler!''
¡®Ball Handler?¡¯ He thought, ¡®Isn''t this jabbing thorns at my job as a ball boy...?¡¯
¡®Furthermore, what the heck is this¡¯ Another screen popped up, and this one was much bigger, it displayed something that would be seen out of a computer game.

¡®What on earth is happening?¡¯ He thought in deep shock.
Baa Baaa Baaa
All the barn animals were shouting out in confusion, the flock of sheep became cautious of the strange human who had appeared so suddenly. Fang Li ignored all the commotion as he was now sitting down on the ground, completely lost at what to do from now on.
Chapter 2: Goddess of Beauty and Love
Love shows itself more in adversity than in prosperity; as light does, which shines most where the place is darkest
Leonardo da Vinci
¡®Where am I?¡¯ David Lee thought before seriously contemplation his situation.
He searched around the old barn but could only see the rusty wooded walls, starched dry hay that smelled of urine and animal droppings. He also spotted the flock of sheep that surrounded him. They were fairly clean but were shivering in fright.
"Uh, G''day?" He said while waving towards the group of trembling marshmallows in a friendly manner.
Baaaaaa
The marshmallow like animals returned the greeting, and after a few minutes, they begin to slowly drop down their guards. They quickly got back to their ordinary life, munching on dry straws while drinking water from the watery buckets and forgetting everything thing that just happened.
He slowly stood up from the cold hard earthy ground with some dry stubborn straws that were stuck onto his clothes. He then searched around at his own body, only to find that everything was the same from before he died. He still had the same ball boy uniform on, his body is the same, and he had no terrible wound on his head.
He thought about what the woman said at the afterlife terminal.
¡°You will be sent to a random world¡±
Maybe he was sent to back to Earth? Because he everything he saw so far in this ¡®world¡¯ fairly resembles Earth, perhaps he could find his parents again. But how will he explain the situation, after all he had died.
''Mother, Father...''
He couldn''t help but get teary eyes, droplets of tears dripped down his face, a young man sobbing could be heard throughout the barnyard. He walked forward towards a bucket of water, shoving the sheep that was drinking peacefully to the side.
Baaaaaaaa
That sheep kicked off with its leg and hid behind its fellow kind, frightened by the sudden push from the strange human. That sheep then curiously looked toward the human from afar, only to see that human cry-baby staring at the reflective mirror of the bucket water.
David Lee touched his own face, it was exactly the same as before. Every detail was painted perfectly. His handsome rugged sharp-faced head, thick manly eyebrows, dark hair, brown eyes, blue shorts, a plain white t-shirt, sneakers, long white socks, and a tennis ball his pocket.
He knew that it wasn¡¯t his original self, it was a perfect clone because his past self-died. Maybe his original body is being buried by his parents right now¡
¡®Wait?¡¯
¡®Tennis ball hmm?¡¯
He grabbed the tennis ball out of his pocket slowly.
¡®This came with me too?¡¯
Throwing the ball up and down in his palms had made him calm down considerably, but he then realised that he didn''t have his dragon bracelet anymore. His family heirloom was gone just like that.
¡®What was it exactly and why did my birth family have something like that?¡¯ He thought strangely.
He then started to play with the tennis ball, bouncing it everywhere out of boredom. It was miraculously able to calm his mind.
The sheep were watching with blank faces, ¡®what a weird human¡¯ they thought as they sat down as a crowd, watching the human bounce the ball over and over.

A message appeared through the holographic interface, He couldn''t help but open his eyes widely as he was dumbfounded. This was real life here and all he did was bounce a ball for around a few minutes, and was giving an experience point?
Mumbling to himself as to keep himself sane, he didn¡¯t notice that the barn door was opening from behind him.
"Excuse me"
"Excuse me..."
"Boy with the weird clothes, over here!" A sweet-sounding voice resounded through his ear, he couldn¡¯t help but turn around while rubbing his eyes that had gone reddish from crying too much.
¡®Huh?¡¯ He hadn¡¯t hallucinated, so he really heard a woman¡¯s voice?
He had turned around, but his face was stunned still. Obviously, he was shaken up as he accidentally dropped the tennis ball, it went rolling towards the now opened barn door where he could see a bright shiny sun light up the outside world, but also the sun shine reflected off the skin of the woman making her seem like a goddess.
She was a young woman who looked to be around eighteen years old, she had long black hair, white rosy skin, and her dress was fairy like with many different flower patterns, her perfume smelled like a freshly plucked peach, coupled with her clear blue eyes that were like the oceans at a five-star holiday resort island, her cute button nose and her sharp exquisite eyebrows had raised her beauty many folds.
She was unfortunately sitting down in a wooden wheelchair with crossed arm with a hint of anger in on her face, but when she saw his reddish teary eyes, she eased up a bit.
"What are you doing in my farmhouse?" She said courteously.
"Uh, I got lost, I stumbled upon this barn by accident, I''m sorry if I had intruded..." David said slowly while trying not to look at her legs. He had accidentally caught sight of her silky smooth long legs. He was about to drool as something arouse within his heart, but he firmly kept a straight face, trying to not seem like a pervert.
"Hmmmm" She was thinking carefully while trying to see through the strangers¡¯ statement, her eyes checked every inch of his body before smiling slightly, she decided that the boy was trustworthy.
"What¡¯s this?" She said curiously at the rolling green ball, the ball rolled softly towards her wooden wheelchair, leaning just below her legs.
Again, David tried so hard not to stare at her rudely, but as he was about to respond, he saw something that shocked him.
"Woooooooosh¡±
¡®Magic!?!.¡¯ David had almost yelled out as he saw this scene.
The beautiful girl was sitting quietly in her chair when all of a sudden, a gust of wind appeared. The wind turned visible as it was slowly caressing her skin, then a bright blinding light appeared. The bright light was azure coloured, he was awestruck by the sight.
A long azure coloured ribbon appeared from under her sleeves, it extended to the ball like a soft whip, the ribbon grabbed the ball pulling it towards her palm. She grabbed a hold of the bouncy ball before recalling the magical ribbon back towards her sleeves.A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
"Hmmm... It¡¯s a little hairy and squishy, it also smells like grass?" She said confidently as she continues to squeeze the ball in her soft slender palm.
"Hey, you, what is this thing?......... Hellooooooooo." She said while clicking with her free hand towards the stunned boy.
¡°Uhhhhhh¡± David Lee was just speechless.
He was just standing there like a dead zombie, his mouth was just hanging open, but some of the filthy fruit flies decided to land in.
¡®Cough cough¡¯
Spitting out the fly in disgust, he finally stumbled out of his stupor before being able to hear what she just said. He couldn''t help but elevate this woman in his mind. One of that on a higher scale than that of a goddess, her pure visage, her beauty vastly overshadowed that busty thot who he saw in the afterlife.
"Oh. Goddess of Beauty and Love, that is just a tennis ball" He responded, but immediately regretted it, who told him to be bad at flirting, all he did was rely on his good look to score girls.
But fortunately, she had giggled at his response, and then she flashed him a bright smile, which showed her perfectly pearly white teeth. This made him blush bright red, he shyly tried to avoid eye contact due to embarrassment, he wanted to dig himself a hole to hide in.
"Ten... tennis ball, what¡¯s that? is it a weapon or magical artefact?" She said playing with it in her hands, rubbing it with her soft dainty palms.
"It''s a normal ball, like a toy, for playing sports" He said dumbfounded, ¡®Did this thing look like a weapon or magic artefact?¡¯
"Sports? what''s that..." She said, unsure of the term.
"Uh, you know like a game you play" He said with doubt, ¡®Surely you would had heard of tennis or the term sports?¡¯ He thought.
"A game? Like chicken?" She said with a sudden understanding.
"What¡¯s chicken?" He replied.
"Eh, you don''t know... it''s like this, you have to find a giant monster and whoever runs away first is the chicken" She said as if it was common knowledge, looking at the boy as if he had been living under a rock.
"Sounds dangerous" David said while trembling, he had just realised, he had seen magic, and this girl does not know of tennis or sport, he realised that he was not on Earth!
"It is, my cousin died playing it, sigh, may he rest in peace, he played with a group of friends in the forest, they chose to pick a Volcanic Flame Rooster as the monster, but its giant beakbit of my cousins¡¯ head because he didn¡¯t move at all" She said not realising what David Lee was going through.
"Oh.... my condolence..." He said with watery eyes because he was still thinking about his parents, but the girl thought it was because of what she said.
"Hmm it''s ok, by the way, tell me more about this tennis" She said, trying to move onto a lighter topic.
"Oh, it''s like this¡¡±
What seemed like an eternity, was only around two hours, he was chatting to her passionately. He forgot how much he loved tennis, so he shared all his knowledge. She was intrigued, her eyes sparkled with longing, but then she looked down towards he legs that were slumped down on the wheelchair unable to move a budge.
He sensed this, and he wanted to know what happened, but she avoided answering with sad teary eyes, so he tactfully moved on and away from this subject.
Continuing with his story, the girl voiced out her thoughts and said she still feels like it was weird to call a score love. He too felt the same way, and they grew closer due to having the same agreement.
After told as much as he could about tennis, he wanted to know more about the world he landed in.
She thought it was weird, but he told her that he was from a faraway land, well it was believable considering tennis is not known in this world and that his clothing style was something she had never seen before, even his shoes, and also he has something called socks which she had never seen before.
She thought it was a great invention because it can warm up the feet. No sock has been invented yet. She wanted a pair of her own, but it would be useless because her crippled leg won¡¯t feel the warmth that it provides, but at least she could style her foot and legs. She made a mental note to make some in her free time.
Her name is Maggie and the area they were currently at is in a low tiered kingdom. He was shocked to learn that there everyone everywhere had an interface. That this world had dangerous dungeons that host multiple different types of monsters that only exist in fiction stories. The higher tiered kingdoms had more dungeons, they also have plenty of sects, schools, organisations and noble families that monopolize and conquer everything. Only leaving the crumbs to adventurers and citizens.
There are Dungeoneering, Mage and Warrior Guilds and others in almost every town. She told him that there is almost every type of guilds for every type of class or job in this world, but some rare class had guilds that were rarely seen. Such as something like a Dragon Hunter Class. There was only one guild in existence for that class, but its location was unknown to the public.
You can only sign up to guilds that represent your class or job.
There¡¯s a universal identity card for this world, it shows your name, age, race, level and class. Maggie had a unique mage class, arcanist, but unfortunately, she had an accident which in turn ruined her career as a Dungeoneerer.
The card also changes colour depending on your total average attribute, and like Dungeoneering levels, higher average attribute can get you into special regions in a dungeon, or hidden sections of the dungeon shop. Some people also say the average attribute hidden sections are better than the Dungeoneering hidden sections because it is much harder to raise your average attributes as there areten attributes in total that you had to raise to get a higher average attribute score, while raising your Dungeoneering is simple.
If you were average ranked;
F, your identity card was Green,
E, Bronze,
D, Silver,
C, Gold,
B, Platinum,
A, Diamond,
She didn''t know what came after diamond, but Maggie slowly took out her dungeon identity card.
Maggie Faeris / Age 18
Human / [Dungeoneering: Level 10]
Title: Nil
Class: Arcanist [Level 14]
Subclass: Tailor [Level 17]
Average Attribute: F+ [Green]
She wanted to see his card, but he said that he had lost it, so he would have to buy a new one at the local Dungeoneering guild. It was said to cost around 5 silvers coins, which he didn¡¯t have.
So, he figured out that levelling up Dungeoneering was different to levelling up your main class and sub class.
Levelling up Dungeoneering, gets you access to the higher levelled dungeons. Access to an exclusive dungeon shop. This system was rumoured to be created by the gods. Maggie was level 10 in Dungeoneering, but it was still too low of a level to access this exclusive dungeon shop.
Since you can only level this Dungeoneering in a dungeon. Having her legs crippled had crumbled any notion of being able to advance in this category anymore, because nobody would team up with a cripple like her to challenge a dangerous dungeon expedition.
Classes are entirely different, you can level both your main and sub classes anywhere in the world. Sometimes levelling classes, or skills can boost your attributes. But there is something called Gods Shackle. This limits the levelling of attributes harshly.
For example, if you have both, a main class warrior and a skill that boost your strength. When you level your Warrior class from one to level five, you get a strength attribute boost.
F will go up to F+
But when you also level that strength skill from one to five, you can get another strength attribute boost. Which in theory would get your already strength attribute of F+ to E-
But unfortunately, because of Gods Shackle, it won¡¯t work. The System only rewards quality and not quantity. Things of similar attribute and level will not stack. So, the attribute boost of the strength skill will become voided. Therefore, it is best to have many different classes and skill that branch out to other attributes, so they don¡¯t conflict. But by going this way, it also makes your focus spread out too much, thinning out your strong points.
You also need to take note of synergy. You can¡¯t just any random skills of different attributes, you need skills that can stack up a combo, like a chain of attacks that connect perfectly with each other. Your killing and fighting ability is much more important than maintaining an equal and balanced attribute. This is why many people will just focus on what is good for battle. ¡®Who cares if every attribute is raised equal¡¯ they are just focusing on skills that can connect and chain together.
Therefore, some people of the world will just forget an unimportant attribute entirely, perhaps keeping it at F rank while they focus on their main specialty, this also keeps their average attribute to an all-time low and that¡¯s why 60% of the population are not able to unlock higher hidden average attribute regions.
Levelling up Dungeoneering will not give you an attribute boost, but everything else will. And in every five level up, you will get an attribute boost. But David Lee felt it was a pity that the God Shackle was there otherwise he would be able to choose two similar class, to boost a single attribute to A or S rank very fast.
Maggie has a few skills, they were giving to her by her class, including a bunch of arcane skills like the azure ribbon, and some tailor skills, skills can also be levelled up. Some skills can evolve.
Evolving a skill can increase your attributes accordingly. but this is an extremely hard thing to do. Even if you max level a skill, it won¡¯t evolve. You need to properly understand the secrets of the skill. David Lee suddenly thought that this was like understanding a Dao path in certain cultivation novels. If you understand a skill so deeply and intimately, making it become one with yourself, then evolution of a skill would proceed. From what Maggie knows, you can evolve the same skill many times, but only nobles, geniuses or people with a strong backing are known to do this.
After learning a little bit more about the world, they were interrupted with a set of footsteps coming out from nearby. A young man was seen entering the barn.
"Maggie, so this is where you are" He said with a cheerful voice.
"Oh Malcolm, I was just talking to this young man over here" She said in return with a smile.
"Eh? who are you!" That boy said with shock and turned vigilant as he pulled out his sword. David was now trembling in fright from the dangerous new threat, the sword points directly to his low part, threatening to cut ¡®that¡¯ off ruthlessly.
Chapter 3: Dungeon Identity Card
Don¡¯t depend too much on anyone in this world because even your own shadow leaves you when you are in darkness
Taq? ad-D?n A?mad ibn Taymiyyah
"Who are you!" The young boy said ferociously.
....
"Malcolm, its ok, he isn''t dangerous, you can trust him," Maggie said calmly, her confident voice had calmed down the young farm boy.
"If you say so, sister..." He said, lowering his sword but still not taking his eye off the strange looking man.
"Hi, I''m David Lee," The strange boy said, gulping down saliva, a little frightened, well he just had a sword pointed at him, more importantly it was pointed at that lower region of his body... Perhaps it was because David was too tall, and this farm boy was too small. No one likes having a sword pointed at them when they had no proper protection, he had a tennis ball but was that a weapon? A tennis ball will not even do any damage to his enemy, it will only be sliced into two!
"I''m Malcolm," He said rolling his eyes at the strange shivering man, placing the short rusty sword in his hilt before crossing his arms.
The day went dawn, the suns'' heat cooling down with clouds rushing in to cover the once clear blue sky. There David was sitting at the worn-down table of the Faeris family¡¯s house, the two siblings were orphaned, their parents died a few months ago from some self-serving scummy servants of a ¡®Nobles¡¯ house.
The servants young master was dissatisfied with the clothing the parents had made and executed them on a whim, the two siblings were out hiding in the barn with the sheep herd when it happened.
David had learnt the Faeris family came from a long line of tailors, saving up enough money for Maggie to become a proper Dungeoneerer with an Arcane class. The parents didn¡¯t want their children to follow in their footstep and become something great.
But unfortunately, during a dungeon expedition, something horrible had happened to Maggie, which she kept tight-lipped about. So, she became a tailor anyway through her subclass, making clothes out of the sheep wools and other things around their land.
David and Malcolm got along quite well after getting to know one another. He told Malcolm about tennis. Malcolm was happy to gain new knowledge, he attentively listened to the description of this ¡®tennis¡¯ and though in his face, he tried to hide the fascination and awe by keeping his expression neutral.
Malcolm was only 12 years old, he had a few levels in his class and it was time for him to get an identity card. Tomorrow was the day they were leaving to sign up for one.
David also wanted to get one, because apparently it is important to have one if you want to get into cities or exclusive buildings and shops. But he will have to owe Maggie five silver coins. He feels bad taking their money, they seem to be barely scraping by, but David vowed to return this favor ten folds. Maggie just smiled and said that it wasn¡¯t needed, and Malcolm just pestered him to swear that he will pay fifty silvers back, so David and Malcolm shook hand as to officialize the deal.
Baaaaaaa
David found himself cuddled up against something soft and warm, it was the wool of a sheep. He was inside the old barn groping onto a warm but distressed sheep on a pile of dry dirty grass straws
"Oh crud" Feeling embarrassed, he let go of the shivering animal while patting the pile of straws stuck on his clothes. He slept deeply after a night of grinding some exp for his ball handler skill.
Finding himself outside of the barn and into the small house of the two siblings, he went ahead, knocking on the musky moldy wooden door, which Malcolm, after a few minutes, had sleepily opened the door to greet him.
After a very nice and filling breakfast with a tasty mystery meat sausage and mystery scrambled eggs, they all head out towards town.
Maggie was in her wooden wheelchair and was travelling down a ramp which led down from her house, to the ground. Malcolm steadily watch over like a good natured younger brother, pushing from behind carefully and making sure she is not going too fast or slow.
Going to town did not take long, only around an hour walk. The scenery through the walk was wonderful and breathtaking, all kinds of creature that he had not seen before were on display. Dozens of new birds that he had never seen before, one bird was golden with three wings, another had four...
Woooooosh
Malcolm suddenly had to pull out his short sword, chopping down swiftly on a rabid squirrel-like creature, it had dark red fur and a long black horn, sharp claws, quick speed, but it was chopped into two halves cleanly.
David couldn''t help but feel his chest tighten after seeing blood squirt out like a fountain, filthy organs splashing out, little brain bits were all out in the open to see.If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
It was his first time seeing something like this, but it won''t be the last. He apparently must toughen up his mentality as this will now become a common sight. He is now in a different world, but that will be harder than it sounds, as this world and his last are so vastly different. Malcolm was just playing with the ball to calm himself, gaining bonus exp on the way.
Seeing the town from afar, it looked like an ordinary town except there were a mass of wagons pulled by tall strong and masculine horses, the horses looked very terrifying and powerful as they were dark and thick with red blazing eyes. There were many people in weird dressings, full armor or robes, holding staff or swords, many unique looking people roam everywhere.
They all proceeded towards a building, the Dungeoneer building, it was the most well-crafted building out of the whole the town, two stories high with master craftsmanship, there was a small step to get into the building in which both Malcolm and himself lifted Maggie and her wheelchair through the front door.
"Ha, cripple, go back to your run-down pile of shithole" A harsh drunken voice echoed into the trio¡¯s ears.
David turned my head frowning towards the one who made the hatefully rude comment.
"Hummpft, open up your eyes, duh," The brutish, blacked toothed man said towards David viciously while pulling his eyes to look like his with his fingers.
"You Bastard!" David had enough, and his loud voice startled everyone in the building.
He was furiously mad, shouting out in anger towards the racist bandit, he and his friends got up laughing, mocking his eyes even more. Maggie''s face went icy cold, and behind the cold look was immense anger. She was about to summon her arcane abilities to back up and protect the foolish angry boy in front of her. But it was unnecessary as someone came to intervene.
This was beautiful lady around thirty years old who was armed in a majesty shiny silver battle armor, a huge black battle axe hilted onto her back which immitted intense killing aura outwards. Everyone could feel the horrifying aura that it released and backed away. She stared down the rowdy drunken group with cold eyes. This made the drunken group drop their beer and run away like frightened kittens
The main drunken culprit sent me David one last glare before running out to follow his brothers. The trio then sighed in relief as the moment was over before thanking the savior for helping them out from that situation.
David eventually calmed down, looking towards the woman. He had just realized that on her head were two snowy white fluffy bunny ears, and her eyes were deep dark purple, which was very alluring and if you stared long enough into her eyes, it feels like you were going to be sucked in.
"Ignore those idiots¡. Well you get people like those everywhere, even at Obsidian Citadel, but you get used to it," She said softly, while covering her scary axe with a leather sheet which had blocked out its murderous intent before smiling at the trio. Everyone was glad to be freed of that horrifying pressure, and just continued what they were doing as if this was something common to see.
"You''ve been to Obsidian Citadel? The capital city of this continent where a vast number of dungeons is spawned every day? The city where experts are like fish in an ocean, the strongest Dungeoneerers all meet up there!" Malcolm said with bright shining eyes, jumping up with joy and awe at this half human half beast woman.
"Yes, I had just came down from there, too much competition, so I''m travelling around to different towns and trying their dungeons¡ So, young boy, are you getting your identity card?" She said taking a guess randomly
"Yes, me and David Lee over here" Malcolm said happily while pointing to the tall boy beside him.
"Hmmm... aren¡¯t you a little too old to just get one now?" She said towards David, but before he could respond, a soft warm voice interjected quickly.
"He lost his old one, and I''m helping him get a new one" Said Maggie, pulling out an old pouch filled with a few silver coins. The bunny eared woman had then noticed the girl sitting behind them, her breathe quickened in haste because this girl was even more beautiful than her.
"Eh... well you guys are lucky to have met me, so I''ll pay for you two boys identity card." The bunny eared woman said happily while blushing shyly away from Maggie. Though she briefly judged David as a weird freak from just looking at his laughable attire.
There was no time for refutes as the bunny-eared woman had already went towards the counter, taking out ten sparkling silver coins for the two boys to take an official dungeon identity card test.
The young female attendant had called the two boys over while pulling out a light bluish crystal dome.
This was an Identity Crystal, bought from the Dungeon Store. Anyone can get these if they have the right Dungeoneering level, but every branch of Dungeoneering Guild had to have one. The accountant lady placed a blank card, from the dungeon store, she placed it inside crystal dome, there was weirdly a card slot for it to fit in perfectly.
"Place your hands-on top for a few minutes" She said towards the two boys.
Malcolm went first, he placed his hands onto the crystal, feeling excited as he saw the artefact flashed white in an instant, it was buzzing considerably, computing the information from the human before it.
After a few minutes, the crystal went back to blue, a card popped out like a bread out of a toaster, heated up.
The accountant waited for it to cool down before recording the details in a crystal tablet, she then gave the card to Malcolm who snatched it impatiently.
Malcolm Faeris / Age 12
Human / Dungeoneering: [Level 1]
Title: Nil
Class: Warrior: [Level 6]
Subclass: Nil
Average Attribute: F [Green]
David was then called up to try after the accountant had placed another black card into the crystal artefact. Nervously placing his hands onto the hard crystal, it turned bright white, but after a few seconds, the crystal went from bright white to sparkling gold briefly before turning back to blue.
She took out the card, trembling in shock, looking at the card than towards the tall boy, over and over. She couldn''t help but tremble while recording down the details before handing the card down to the boy respectfully, bowing down before running off to the back of the room, heading upstairs and disappearing in a flash.
"Eh, that was weird... Let us see your card" Said Malcolm curiously, Maggie also looked forward to it, so did the bunny-eared woman.
David Lee / Age 18
Human / Dungeoneering Level [Level 1]
Title: [Ball Handler]
Class: Nil
Subclass: Nil
Average Attribute: F [Green]
"A Title!" The battle-hardened bunny woman shouted out in shock, which caused the whole building to pause in silences, everyone then turned towards the shy human who had no idea how much a title means in this world.
Chapter 4: Choosing a Main Class
The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing
Plato
A Title!
Did she just say a title?
I think she did, that young man over there has one.
Is he a noble?
The whole building went from stark silence to a bumbling group of bustling whispering Dungeoneerers all talking about David. Maggie was stunned silences, looking at David like he was another person, someone of a higher class compared to a commoner like her. She and Malcolm were very surprised and shocked at this revelation.
But just then, a squeaky sound could be heard, the door that lead to the second story room was opening.
First came the familiar young attendant, she was walking slowly with two hands clasp together respectfully, she descended the steps with her head bowed a little, but what came after was another person.
A fairy like person, exulting an air of supremacy, she looked like a young woman, but nothing could cover up the look of wisdom and age in her sparkling silver eyes, white long hair with two pointy ears, a short light green dress, she felt like she was gliding down the stairs with her barefoot barely touching the ground.
"Guild Leader!" The bunny-eared woman shouted out in respect, all though she came from a well-known city, any guild leader of any branch of Guilds, no matter how run-downed and poor the town or city is, were very strong people. So as second strongest in the room, she had to pay respect to the strongest.
David was gob smacked, an elven woman in the flesh, he saw two different people of another race, all so beautiful, he couldn''t help but continue to stare, even though it is rude.
The Guild leader nodded to the bunny eared woman in respect, then turn to face David Lee as she walked closer, slowly. She held out her palms, smooth and silky, but he had blushed red realizing that she wanted to see his card, so he pulled it out and gave it to her.
"Hmmmmm... Ok, follow me, alone" She said while handing back the card to the young man, walking back to whence she came from. He followed along in pursuit, nervously pondering the situation that befell him. He had no idea what was installed for him, but it shouldn''t be anything bad right?
Walking up the stairs and into the second story, he came across a room that was bright purple, the carpet the wall, the furniture, all in different shades of purple, warm and cozy, like a feeling of a home. His face went bright red as soon as he saw her queen-sized bed filled with fluffy stuffed animals, he guessed that she lives here.
"Ignore those things, come sit at my desk" She said walking to a tall dark purple chair, a seat fit for a Guild Leader made by master craftsmanship¡¯s with high grade fur, wood and gems. David sat at the other side of the desk, the feeling felt like of one seeing a school principal.
"So, who are you and where did you come from" She said straightforwardly without beating around the bush.
"Uh, Da... David Lee and I came from a faraway land, I don''t know the name of it though" He said nervously. She eyed him carefully, fully, inspecting the youth before her before saying.
"I will not have a noble dying under my watch, so, I will ensure your safety inside this town" She said unexpectedly, something that David would had never guessed off even if he had a million guesses.
"No...Noble?" He said with a very unsure tone.
"It''s ok, although I haven¡¯t heard of the Lee family, I can see that you are well cultured, your mannerism is different from common people, even if you don''t realize it, let me guess further, you are a sheltered noble from a faraway land, who ran away from home?" She said confidently, to which he replied with a slight nod, well he couldn¡¯t outright lie through his voice as it would give himself away.
"Well then, we can''t have you being defenseless, so you''ll have to choose a class, although it¡¯s a little too late to start now, I guess I can set something up for you" She said in a lecturing tone.
"Uh, ok... um how do I choose one?" He said while biting his teeth from nervousness.
She rolled her eyes in disbelief before telling me that she will send her accountant to help. He walked out of the room slowly, seeing that all eyes were on him while he descended the steps like a pack of ravens. Some eyed him with greed, seeing him as an easy target for kidnapping for wealth, some looked at him with immense fear, and some with hatred.
David then start to walk back towards the group, Malcom came up to him and asked about how it went, to which David replied, that it was ok, and he was going to choose a class.
"I can''t believe you haven¡¯t chosen a class yet, what did your whole life? Eat cake?" He said mockingly to which landed the cold glare of Maggie, he shuddered before laughing wryly while scratching the back of his head.
David didn''t mind, he was not actually a sheltered spoilt noble, but it would make a perfect persona and cover for him, so he did not refute the fact that he is one, by just merely nodding in consent. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.
The young attendant pulled him away, well he was glad to get out of that awkward almost silence situation. They were both walking behind the counter, towards a hidden room, there was a giant sparkling opal crystal like stone which was around three meters tall, it stood in the center of that room, tall, towering over everything else.
"You should know, just in case, not every class is available to people, some only get an option to choose from less than 5 classes... Well put your hands onto it, this is just a low levelled dungeon stone, not everything is available..." She said impatiently, while waiting for him to proceed.
He had a lot of questions, but he placed his hands on the cold hard stone, but what happened next made him raise a brow, a holographic interface appeared in his mind.

Class Activation: [Available]
Sub Class Activation: [LOCKED Level 10 Needed]
Low Dungeon Store: [LOCKED Level 15 Needed]
Low Special Store: [LOCKED D Rank Average Attribute Needed]
There weren¡¯t many options, Dungeon Coins must be a currency used to buy things in the Dungeon Store, but those are only available at a higher level¡ so he clicked onto the class activation category, and a long list of class appeared. He couldn''t help but feel giddy with joy.
Class Activation
Warrior
Ranger
Beserker
Archer
Mage
Knight
.......
.......
So many classes lay out in front of him, he didn''t know that this was not normal. There were also a lot of random trashy classes like, clown, prostitute and models... seriously.
He scrolled down further the list. He was thinking of becoming an archer as he felt like his dexterity and perception were his strongest talent, due to his genius like talent in tennis and gaming back in his old life. He really did have talent, but it was a pity he didn¡¯t train that talent to its peak.
David was about to choose Archer, but he thought that he¡¯d at least look through all the classes, and he found at the end of the list was a light ocean like crystal blue colored class which was very weird.
.......
Thief
Rogue
Assassin
Monk
Martial Artist
Beast Tamer
Summoner
Sphere Summoner
He clicked open Sphere Summoner with curiosity.
Sphere Summoner
[Only Available for those with the Title: Ball Handler]
[Uses, Dexterity, Intelligence and Wisdom]
[Summon all types of Spheres for various uses]
Eh? What kind of class is this? Seems lame... He tried to exit out of the class details, but he didn''t know how, suddenly there was a countdown timer, his eyes went wide in shock.
How come they didn''t tell me about this!
10, 9, 8, 7, 6,
"Go back"
5
"Choose Archer!!!" He yelled fiercely.
4, 3, 2,
The Dungeon System Interface timer went down from 1 to 0, a buzzing sound was heard, a powerful force from the crystal shot out, shiny light-blue light descended from the crystal and into the dumbfounded boy. This process took a quick second before the light disappeared into his body, the crystal cooled down and went back to normal. He couldn¡¯t help but bitterly sulk to himself as he found himself not being an archer. Though a holographic note had appeared before him.
[Note]
[Gained one new class and three skills]
He concentrated his mind to open his personal Dungeon Interface.

He sat there, slumped at what to do, he then decided that this class well didn¡¯t look that bad. But he¡¯d rather be an awesome archer sniping from afar, rather than a mage that can only fondle with balls.
The accountant recorded down his class in her crystal notebook, she had an odd look on her face when she saw his class. After finishing scribbling down in her notebook, she gave him a bronze key, and to his surprised, she showed him towards a room where he was free to stay at. It was a room at the edge of the building, decent enough for him to stay in for now, rather than on the ground of the barn with the sheep herd,
So, after looking at his new room, he found at that it wasn''t for free, and that he had to wait tables for adventurers starting from tomorrow. After checking everything out once, he went back to his old group who were seemingly waiting for him.
"So, what did you get?" Asked Malcolm, the two other girls look at him in curiosity, but Maggie was less enthusiastic. David thinks it is probably because she thinks that he is a noble, and a noble had something to do with her parents. He really wants to clear up this misunderstanding later when they are alone.
"Sphere Summoner" David replied embarrassed
"Oh, Spear Summoner? That¡¯s odd, but awesome; can you summon a spear now, a magical one? Do you have a spear fighting skill? Something cool like Poisonous Snake Strike, Hidden Dragon Claws, or 1000 Stabs of Doom!" Malcolm continued rambling excitedly.
"No, it¡¯s Sphere Summoner..." David replied in correction.
"Yeah, I know, Spear Summoner" Said Malcolm in annoyance.
Chapter 5: Testing new abilities
The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step
Lao Tzu
There he was inside his new room, perhaps he will be living here for sometimes, he played with the tennis ball inside his hands, thinking of everything that had happened so far.
New world, a class, magic exists...
Half beast half human, Elves, Sphere Summoner...
It was night time, the dark sky covers the sky like a cold thin blanket, stars shine brightly in the sky in the thousands. There were two bright moons in the sky, twins, beautiful and breathtaking to see. He was looking out through the small window of his apartment while relaxing on his comfy new bed.
The siblings had left ages ago, they had all talked about David¡¯s new class, but no one had heard of it before. Even the bunny eared woman, her name was Lilith, she told them that she would be leaving to the next town. So, they bid farewell. Maggie and Malcom also left back towards their place. David had wanted to go with them, but they said that they will come to visit regularly and that he should take the chance to get under the Guild Leaders wing.
The young attendant brought in his dinner, it was a bowl of mashed vegetables paste, and some mystery meat. He found out her name was Perry, a normal human girl with an accountant Class. She was ashamed to mention it, but it didn''t bother him, any class would be fine if it contributes to society. Strength isn''t everything. A rare thought that was in a world that values strength above anything else.
After finishing up dinner, he quickly went to deep sleep, snoring loudly which annoyed the guild staff members that were in the next room over. He was very tired from grinding even more exp by playing with the ball.
......
[Ball Handler] [Level 1, EXP 43.43/100]
The next day he woke up to find that he gained a few more experience in his title. It is now at a total of forty-three, maybe playing with his ball for a few hour isn''t a waste of time, but it levels up too slowly, David then decided that he will try and get 20 Exp a day in his spare time. But he decided that he needed to find out a lot of new things today.
The door abruptly opened, it was Perry the accountant, she threw him a fresh set of waiter¡¯s uniforms, the clothes set was a mixture of purple and white, with an emblem of the Dungeon Guild, a round circle with a dragon in the middle sewed above the heart region.
He quickly found the washroom, he was glad that it was a private one. Washing alone quickly with soapy water, singing a nursery rhyme. But the accountant told his to hurry up from outside the room, killing his joyous mood as he had to quickly dry up and change into his new clothes.
"Ok, you need to sweep the floor, wash dishes, and wait the table, you can''t be standing doing nothing at any given moment, your break is at lunch time for one hour, then you will resume working for another three hours, that¡¯s when you are done for the day" She said quickly handing the young man a freshly made broom stick. He nodded with a headache, ¡®this is a drag¡¯ he thought as he began to sweep the dusty floor of the guild.
It felt like forever, sweeping, cleaning and waiting tables, but after a few hours of diligently working, he was finally finished. He had heard a lot of rumors from the customers, one of them being that a newbie dungeon was resetting soon, the others was that usually about relationships and such which he didn''t care for, oddly enough he had heard his own name sometimes into the mix, usually paired with the word Noble.
So, he also found out that there was a training field outside, behind the guild, just a medium sized outdoor area with low wooden fences surround it. He was now standing in the warm sunny heat, back into his old tennis clothes and sneakers that had been washed, but he didn¡¯t know who did it.
In front of him were three wooden dummies and beside him was the fairy like Guild Leader who was taking time out of her busy schedule. She wanted to see what his unique class was, because she had no idea what a Sphere Summoner was.
"Ok, well then, show me what you got" She said calmly, he couldn''t help but feel nervous sensing her curious gaze on his being.
Opening his sweaty and shaky hands, he faced his right palm towards the dummy while intensely concentrating his mind. He had thought of fire, imagining a huge red roaring flames of fire like the fiery sun in the sky, his hands felt warmer and warmer, until a burst of sparks shot out.
But that¡¯s all it was, a spark.
Tiny specks of spark flew from his palm, he was dumbfounded. There was no fireball. Just a tiny miserable spark that fell onto the cold hard ground before disappearing.
Heh
His face went red with embarrassment as he heard the elven woman laugh coyishly. She had a small smile at the corner of her pink lips which was very capitating, he couldn¡¯t help but zone out for a while as he was lost in that smile.
"You need to chant, since it¡¯s your first time, some people can use their abilities chantless, but that for people of a higher league" She said, breaking him out of his daze.Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings.
¡®Chant?¡¯ He thought with confusion, before trying it out for himself.
"Uh¡ Fire Ball?" He said nervously.
A small spherical ball of fire extended out of his palm, he felt the energy surge out of body as the ball of fire shot out towards the wooden target.
It just brushed past the dummy, barely hitting it before crashing into the ground and dissipating into thin air, leaving a black scorching mark at the area it landed in. The ball of fire was very slow, and from what he could tell, the fireball couldn¡¯t reach that far out, making him sulk because he wanted to be a long-range sniper.
But suddenly, the tiny embers that was left onto the wooden dummy when the fireball grazed it, quickly grew into a large bonfire. The dummy quickly turned black with ash, ruined.
Fire Ball EXP + 1.01
Ball Hander EXP + 1.01
He gained a measly sum of 1.01 EXP. His Mana reserves went from 100 to 80.2
So, it would take forever to level up any skills like this...
¡®Wait¡ I also got a ball handler exp? And why did the spell only cost 19.8 mana instead of 20? Hmm, that does make sense though.¡¯ He thought with a weird expression.
¡®It must be my title, it supposedly raises my proficiency in anything ball related by 1%. Perhaps the cost of my spell had been reduced by 1%. He had also noticed the extra increase in exp gain as well. But a bonus gain of .01 exp due to the title does seem too minimal to have any major affect,¡¯ He thought.
"So, you can summon a mages fireball, but from what I know their chanting for this particular skill is much longer, a full sentence whereas you just said fireball, hmmmm, not a bad class" She said with ahard to dechiperexpression. David followed through with another action, summoning a water ball to put out the fire which made her grow slightly more impressed.
Water Ball EXP + 1.01
Ball Handler EXP + 1.01
Health 100/100 Mana: 60.4/100
"Are you able to show your last skill, you should have one more left as everyone starts off with three skills after they have chosen their first class" She said curiously, looking forward to the last one.
"Uhh, I have this one thing, it¡¯s called Sphere Contract, I can make a contract with any creature or object as long as they are spherical" He said slowly.
"Wait what? Is there any restriction on the strength of the creature or object?" She had so many questions to which he answered truthfully, and at his explanation, her eyes went wide with fascination and envy.
"How do you activate it? Is there a chant needed? I know where there is some gold ranked Poisonous Floccus Bat, they are round woolly bats, it should be ok if they fold their wings in to be spherical when you make the contract. It is already an overpowered skill for a low levelled person like you, if you could get a pet like that without having a beast tamer class, everyone would envy you. Furthermore, even a beast tamer at your level wouldn¡¯t be able to tame that kind of high levelled beast" She said while sighing in amazement.
David¡¯s¡¯ eyes went wide with joy, a strong pet, just right of the bat? No pun intended but this class now doesn''t seem all that bad. He quickly opened the skill to check out how to make a contract is made. Pretty much there is a description right at the bottom.
"Sphere the gods of the universe with everything and nothing, The Orb of Oblivion, by thee words of a Sphere Summoner, I strike this contract, Bind to me for Now and Forever"
He said out loud for her to listen but...
Something odd happened. His body began to glow light blue and he began to float above the ground, this had shocked both him and the Elvish Woman, she tried to pull him down, but the glowing light was like a strong force field, stopping her forcefully from getting any closer to him.
He felt something else heat up, it was close to his bottom. He panics heavily but calmed down as it was his tennis ball that was hiding in his back pocket. The ball flew up and out into the air in front of him, but his face changed into pain and despair as the ball dived into his right palm.
Hssssssssss
A strong but painful burning sensation occurred, the tennis ball melted into his right palm, burning into his skin with force. He was trying not to scream too loudly as he felt like his palm was going to melt.
Woooooosh
He fell from the air and onto his bottom, dumbfounded as everything returned back to normal. He then looked at his palm, there was a tattoo of a tennis ball¡
¡®What the heck?¡¯ He thought, he then saw that in his personal interface that there was something new.
Sphere Contract [Level 1 Permanently]
[Cost: Nil]
[Three contracts available, 1/3]
Contract 1: Tennis Ball [Level 1, EXP 0/100] [Cost: 10 Mana]
[A blessed bouncy ball, used to play tennis, can now level up]
[Bonus Effects: Nothing]
¡®What happened?¡¯ He thought.
The Guild Leader felt bad, feeling like it was her fault, she swore to compensate for his lost, but it was instead his fault for negligence that costed him one precious slot of the contract. This was one less contract slot for something like an overpowered object or beast.
He was promised the strongest Poisonous Floccus Bat she could find, she also offered to be his own personal tutor for one week, and a spot in the reopening of the newbie dungeon.
All newbies dungeons are opened to level 1-5 Dungeoneerers. Anyone stronger can''t enter because of a strange force that is known to be the will of this world. This particular dungeon is called Goblin Paradise and has a 3-month resetting time.
Nobody knows why, but when a newbie dungeon is completed, it will reset again with the same environment, same monsters and same dungeon core. Whereas in normal dungeons, for level5 and over, once completed, are never again seen because the dungeon core will not respawn anew. But a good thing is that a new but different dungeon will spawn elsewhere nearby, it¡¯s like the will of the world plants a new dungeon after one dies.
During the reviving phase of a newbie dungeon, it cannot be entered again because a force field prevents you from entering. The reviving period of the dungeon called Goblin Paradise will be completed in one week. David had only a week to train and learn everything he needs to know by the time he sets of to do it.
He spent the whole day training and found that the tennis ball can be levelled up by playing with it, destroying it, and re-summoning it, it can also gain exp when you throw it at a living target. And so, because the guild leader promised to be his tutor for a week, she lets him throw the tennis ball at her. David was blushing excessively because one time he through the ball on her sensitive area which caused her to grow mad which made him sweat coldly. Chapter 6: Preparing for the first Dungeon
Nothing is so painful to the human mind as a great and sudden change
Frankenstein, by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelly
Standing before him was a huge cave. The sky was windy and cloudy, and the white soft clouds roam mischievously, giving cold shades to the vastly rich earth from the shining sun.
He was escorted by few of the dungeon guilds workers and the young female attendant of the guild, Perry, towards the newbie dungeon. It has been one quick week and David was feeling both excited and nervous. Over the one-week period he had learn to love training, levelling up and grinding exp as it gave him a sense of purpose and progress, but he was also nervous as he knew he was going to experience something dangerous.
The Guild Leader never told him his name, but he just decided to call her President. She did not let David rest at all once she found out something shocking. She found that David knew absolutely nothing about anything, not even anything about Nobles that he was, so called supposed to be.
He came out with the truth, that he was adopted and didn¡¯t know much about his birth family. Hearing this, the President felt that he was just swarming with more secrets but didn¡¯t press on to exposed them, instead she just calmly explained.
Nobles were people that were descendances of Dungeoneerers that had reached unimaginable heights. People that had reachedA Rank Average Attribute, which means they were A rank in most of their attributes. They were half gods or legends. Only a tiny portion of people in the entire history of the world has reached this state. Because once you reach that state, a title that fits you is automatically given to you by the worlds will, and then that person is are able to pass that title to their children¡¯s and so on.
According to her, these descendants of legends quickly became overbearing like a bunch of spoilt rich kids. They band together and protect their own kind even if they do degenerate things such as murder and rape. One very strong person with a bunch of B rank attributes tried to punish one of these so-called nobles, but not only was he quickly suppressed and killed, their whole family and all that associated with them were killed. All the nobles worked together to do this task. Similar things happened all over the world which caused nobility to be feared, the only ones that can suppress them are guilds, schools and sects.
But most of these legends have already died through the passage of time and most noble family do not have the protection of those legends which is probably why they like to band together and bully others to put on a show of strength. Each noble family usually have thousands of descendants to which they can then form a huge family clan, similar to that of an army.
David sneered at these nobles, thinking that they were cancer and needed to be cut out. The President also told him that when he one day eventually goes out to explore the world on his own, he should pretend that he has a great backing even though he was adopted. David agreed reluctantly, he only hopes that someone with a deep vengeance for nobility doesn¡¯t come after him.
The President also explained what each attribute means.
Strength will increase your physical power, this is important for most melee fighters. Some strong special weapons may require a certain strength attribute grade to wield. But these weapons are rare and well sought after.
Constitution will increase your health capacity, health regeneration and your stamina, making you able to do more physical actions for a longer period of time.
Defence will strengthen your body which will mostly help reduce physical damage done to the body. Some special armour may require certain defence attribute grade to wield.
Resistance is obviously magic resistance, to weaken the all types of spells done to your body, it also includes curse and poison resistance. This attribute is the rarest attribute out of them all, most people will rarely have a class or skill that includes this attribute. Only a small percentage amount of people has this attribute. Even David didn¡¯t see any class with this attribute while he was choosing his main class.
Dexterity will increase your movement speed, reaction speed and attack speed. This is something that class like archers and assassins love.
Intelligence increased your thinking capability, your IQ. This can make a dumb blockhead suddenly turn into a seasoned scholar but increasing this attribute will work best on those who are born highly intelligent as their intelligence will be above the rest by far, for those with the same grade. Some highly advance spells would require a higher Intelligent Grade.
Wisdom increases your EQ, your mana capacity and your mana regeneration.
Perception is more concentrated on the eyes, and your mind eye. You overall senses heightened, your danger sense is raise which makes even feeling a little bit of killing intent against you, simple, and you can pick up on things that are easily missed. You can also sense targets hiding or assassins lurking in the dark. This too, is something archers love.
Charisma is more about charm, raising your appeal, making people fall in love with you, growing beautiful. Or simply raising your charismatic persona overall which is important for leaders, being able to gain subject due to your charms. Most people abuse this attribute for attracting people for sexual purposes. Most Nobles love this attribute and would even choose useless classes with this paricular attribute. But in the hand of certain people, it can be extremely dangerous and effective, and used as a hidden weapon making people not even realised that they have been trapped. This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
Although David would had guessed what these attributes do on his own, it was nice to confirm the details officially. David¡¯s training over the week went well, not only was he improving his movement and flexibility, he was also preparing knowledge for the newbie dungeon that he was about to take. He was taking a basic lesson about goblins, their weakness and strength, but they didn''t have anything particularly outstanding, these goblins were supposed to be one of the weakest creatures in the whole planet, so he was relieved.
But he was then told by his tutor that he shouldn''t underestimate his enemies and to always be on alert. He was then taught a basic understanding of how to identify traps and dangerous objects. He didn''t know why, but the Guild Leader wouldn''t give him a complete guide on how to complete the dungeon, he knows they should have one, but the Guild Leader said that it wouldn''t be necessary, and that he needs to face real danger in order to get a feel of dungeoneering. She also pointed out that if he needed a cheat book to complete one of the weakest dungeons in the world, then he was setting himself up to be reliant on others and that he won''t gain skills needed to survive on his own for the future.
The president also made him improve his aim in both fireball and waterball. He quickly became proficient in hitting moving targets by training against objects that were thrown by the guilds workers, orders on behalf the Guild Leader. This made her impress. She wanted to cram more things into the young prodigious boy because she felt he learns far too quickly. He was taught some basic dagger skills since it does not conflict too much with his magic spells as does a sword, he can also easily wield and sheathe very quickly.
David after the end of the week was able to get both fireball and waterball halfway to level 2, his title had reached level two which raised his proficiency from 1% to 2%. His tennis ball had reached level 2 as well, which caused the it to grow a little bit more durable, the ball did just hit a little bit harder than before, this was proven by throwing it at his beloved tutor. He was now standing before the newbie dungeon, ready but nervous.
From the town to the dungeon it was about around a four-hour walk, but it was an interesting walk. The reason why he was woken up early to trek to the dungeon instead of relaxing and going on a carriage ride when it was time, was because the Guild Leader said that it is better to get a warm up exercise instead of being relaxed. She thought that a carriage ride would make him laxed and lazy. So, a long walk would keep him on edge, warmed up and ready for the dungeon expedition.
David loved looking at the different scenery of the land which intrigued him. It was similar but also not, to his old home planet Earth. Not many people focus on the beauty of nature, but he was one of them, but he had to be extra careful as it was also dangerous as there were many violent creatures and dangerous plants along the way, but they were taken care of Perry the attendant.
He bounced and played with the tennis ball, because he vowed not to waste time. In his last life he grew idle and didn''t train in his talent as much as he could, but in this life, he will grind and train whenever he could because back then, when he was a ball boy, he was always jealous of the professional tennis players that he worked around. He was only an insignificant servant running after the ball they hit. These pros took the recognition, these pros took the pay check, these pros took the fame. But what did he have?
What he learned is that there was no need to be jealous, that was just a negative emotion in which he needed to cut. So, he did. And he learned that he could had have all those things, the recognition, the pay check, the fame if only he had trained. It was the same in this world. He saw people eyeing him with jealousy, his supposedly nobility, his supposedly rich backing, his title, and his good looks in which he was born with.
David sneered at these people with disdain, which made him look like a proper arrogant noble in their eyes. But David was in fact sneering at them because it reminds him of his old self. Jealousy. He wanted to yell at them to stop being jealous and get off their two lazy butt cheeks, get up and go dungeoneering, go grind exp, go level up, go discover new things instead of being jealous because the truth is...
With enough hard work you can get all those things. All you need to do was get an A average attribute grade, then you can have a title, be a noble first in your line. And, even if you don''t make it to this stage, you had made wealth, grown stronger and you can look back with pride because you would had never made it to this stage if you were that jealous, wishing for something to be yours instead of taking the initiative yourself and not sitting down staring at something you wish you could have.
David was seen wearinga full set of leather armour made with out of a low-grade water dragon lizard hide, it was greenish in colour with a short-curved horn sticking out of the centre of the leather helmet. This armour wasn''t separate pieces, but it was a onesie. Perry joked about him being a greenhorn since it was green, and that he was a newbie new to the scene with a green coloured identity card.
To him, it felt like a handout, but the Guild Leader who gifted this too him insisted that she owed him at least this much. This leather armour felt great to him because it didn''t restrict his movement, instead he felt like he was faster. It was the property of this armour, he was surprised when they told him what the bonus effects were.
Low Grade Water Dragon Lizard Full-Set Armour (75/75 Durability)
[Durable against F+ physical attacks]
[F+ resistances against water related attacks]
[Less restriction when moving in water]
[Weak against Lightning attacks]
There was water resistance, which made him pleased. But he was warned that he would die very quickly if he was to encounterany lightning properties.
His dagger was simple.
Low Grade Lizard Bone Dagger (60/60 Durability)
(Can only penetrate up to F+ Defence)
(Bonus Effects: Nothing)
On his back was a small leather bag, created by the same material as his armour, it was flexible durable and waterproof, with only two potions inside. A weird potion which was blue, it gives you 50 Mana when drunk, and a low health potion that was bright red, which heals around 50 health.
Low Grade Water Dragon Lizard Bag (75/75 Durability)
[Durable against F+ physical attacks]
[F+ resistances against water related attacks]
[Water Proof]
[Weak against Lightning attacks]
Actually all these were gift of those a teacher usually gives their students, these were a goodbye gift that the Elvish Guild Leader had chosen after the end of their one week agreement. Kind of like a graduation gift.
He and his escorts all settled down waiting for the dungeon to open, but as he was waiting, he saw two familiar people that he got to know since he first came to this world.
Chapter 7: Newbie Dungeon Part 1
Every new beginning comes from some other beginning¡¯s end.
Marcus Annaeus Seneca
In a desolate forest full of where there should be hardly any activity, was a newbie dungeon, and a few tens of people camping around for the time being. There were noticeably young people all dressed up in combat uniforms, between the age of 10 to 14. David was not only 18, but the oldest participant of the dungeon expedition there, some people mocked him for being so but after finding out his name, they quickly quietened down.
One person kept looking at him, he was a young person around 12 who wore a full red robe with a red wizard hat, he also had a long wooden staff with a red ruby gem implanted at the top. This kid annoyed David for some reason because he could sense the immense jealousy in his eyes.
The dungeon should open soon enough as the forcefield surrounding the entrance was weakening. And as he was waiting for the opening, he briefly saw two familiar people. He grinned at them both before welcoming them to his camp.
¡°Damn, David what is this awesome armour?¡± Malcolm said in awe, he was only wearing a half-full suit of armour that looked to be a little old and decayed while holding onto a familiar short sword, the sword that Malcolm used to threaten David when they first met. The armour only covered his head, should, arm, waist, legs and foot. Leaving a few empty spaces such as his torso, but Malcolm was wearing a black full sleeved shirt and pants underneath the armour to cover his skin.
Malcolm admired David¡¯s lizard armour as it looked not only strong, but fashionable. Maggie looked to be in a daze as she saw David¡¯s handsome visage, he too saw her and they both smiled at each other, looking at each other¡¯s eyes as if no one else exists. But unfortunately, that moment was ruined by the nagging of the younger boy, Malcolm who hates to be ignored.
Over the one week of his training, he had visited the Faeris twins plenty of time. He had told them his secret, that he was adopted which helped clear out any misunderstandings that he was a noble. Even though he had a title, he didn¡¯t grow up in a noble house which made Maggie sigh in relief. After that moment they both began to grow closer and closer. She even gifted him with some pairs of warm socks that she made just recently, he keeps them close to himself, in his bag because it was a precious gift from his crush.
Wooooosh
The force fieldhad suddenly disappeared, this caused many people to cheer loudly, edging on their young ones into the dungeon. Most participants had a lot of their close ones gather because, sometimes it¡¯s usually the last time they see them¡
The Dungeoneering Guild members had all planned for this, calmly letting around ten participants inside. Two of which were David and Malcolm.
¡®Ok, this is it...¡¯ David thought nervously.
The participants all disappeared into the dark gloomy cave, where cold wind had brushed pass their skin, giving them goosebumps all over.
Walking into this Dungeon felt like descending into another dimension, the air felt off, making it hard to breathe, but after a few minutes of walking through the dark cave, David got used to the environment. He looked behind him for a moment, to see that when the last person walked in, the entrance had disappeared. They were no longer able to exit and must continue onwards.
"My name is Darius Firoach, I am a levelnine mage, I specialize in fire spells" A familiar boy said, the one with the red robe and staff. There were a few mutterings here and there, this boy must be quite famous.
"Well, it''s best to introduce ourselves by telling our names and classes," Darius said, with an air of supremacy, to which David rolled his eyes at.
"Katniss Pritchard, levelSeven Archer" She was a cold looking girl, black leather armour with a thorny bow.
"Ned Whiker, levelSeven Rogue" A shifty looking kid which a bone dagger hanging from his waist.
........
........
"Malcolm Faeris, Level Six Warrior"
They kept calling out but their names and class until only three were left, the next two had stood out like the fire mage.
"Zhao Yin, LevelNine Monk" He was a bold headed teenager dressed in an eastern monk¡¯s attire, he had a prayer bead made from bones from an unknown source as a bracelet and a pitch black wooden club.
"Alfred Morningstar, LevelEleven Appraiser" Everyone had brieflygone into a state ofshock and awe when they heard his level, but once the class was mentioned they all sneered in disdain, a non-combat class was looked down by many people, this guy has a scholarly vibe, dressed in a formal uniform and glasses, dark hair and brown eyes.
All eyes landed on David when it was his turn. He gulped down saliva due to nervousness, but he had managed to project his voice out.
¡°David Lee, Level One... Sphere Summoner" David said embarrasely because he had yet to gain any exp in his class. He hasn''t gain any exp in it yet because he hadn''t killed any creature yet.
Heh...
They all began to whisper to each other, some mocking, some unsure how to act, but nobody was happy to have two useless people, the appraiser and this level one guy.
Darius always had to be in front, struttinglike an exotic peacock and leading arrogantly. The group had then all stumbled upon a wide-open area which were filled with thorny jagged rocks, with a bunch of wooden torches all lighting up the area. As water sprinkle softly from the ceiling, David gulped saliva down his throat, gripping his hands as he saw the sight.
The wide-open space was filled with dozens of spiders, the size of a human head. The spiders looked like huntsman, they were brown and hairy, webs covered a fair bit of the area, but it wasn¡¯t too much that it restricted their movement.
"It¡¯s ok, they are only green ranked,"Alfred said confidently, pushing his glasses up with a finger, looking boosting his scholarly vibe.
"We don''t need an appraiser to know that, hummpft, useless trash!" Darius said viciously before adding in.
"Watch this...The God of Inferno, Grantus, lend me your power, I summon thee fireball!"
A small ball of flames, moving not too fast or slow, smashed into a roaming spider, burning it into ash. This caused the other spiders to go into a frenzy, teaming up in a swarm before rushing towards the group.
Everyone took out their weapons in preparation, but David had quickly chanted, pointing his palm towards the group of spiders.
"Fireball"
Everyone watched in shock as a similar ball of flame shot into the swarm of spiders, it took out around three of them before dying out onto the ground into a pile of black patch of ash. David simply smiled towards the arrogant fire mage who was just standing there shocked. The appraiser then smiled in satisfaction as the supposedly fire mage had his face slapped because David had a much shorter chant using the same fire ability as Darius whose specialty is fire magic.
A holographic note had popped up in front of David, shocking him. This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

"Wow, that was awesome! You don''t even need a staff to assist you, or say a really long chant" Alfred said, passively throwing in some shades towards Darius who had a dark face. Alfred and everyone else thought that David was a spear summoner, but Malcolm corrected them by yelling out the spelling.
¡°S P H E R E Summoner!¡±
To which the annoyed and pissed mage snorted with disdain calling this class lame, but you could see the hint of jealousy in his eyes.
The swarm of spiders was quickly eradicated as it was only the beginning and weakest part of the dungeon, David had used another fireball, but it only killed one spider which gave him a small amount of EXP. And after finally settling down for a break, they moved on to the next phase.
There were two entrances, the right and left. David didn''t know the details of each of the passage, but some did. On top of each entrance was a wooden board with the number five, this is the amount of people allowed through each tunnel.
¡®No wonder, theylet in only ten people for a reason, but what if more than five people go into one tunnel?¡¯ David thought.
Darius had forced them into two groups of five, nobody wanted to group up with Alfred except for David, he thought that his class would be useful and that it would be worth to befriend someone like that. So, David went up to him, Malcolm followed, albeit a little dissatisfied, strangely the monk also came. The group was missing one more person as they only had four people so far.
In thegroup of over six, someone pusheda person away, she was a little shaken by the sudden force.
¡°Trash goes to the trash group!¡± Darius said in an overbearing voice as he pushed a young girl over, was sent tumbling towards David¡¯s group, her eyes weredrearywith tears.
The little girl who stumbled before their group was the youngest person out of everyone, Sarina a level 6 Thief. Darius group of five quickly disappeared through the left tunnel leaving them to the right.
They had then all entered the tunnel on the right side of the dungeon after resting for a bit more just to be in peak condition. The young thief had had a face full of regret by not being able to enter the stronger team, but beggars can''t be choosers.
David had then felt uneasy after entering, and he had every reason to be, that is because when his foot landed in something soft he had lost his footing, but due to the one week of training from his tutor. He had quickly jumped backwards to safety. There in the spot where he used to be was a big hole, a pitfall trap with dozens of rocky pikes, dozens of sharp cone shaped stones all pointing at me.
"Amitabha, you almost became a shush kebab"
The monk said to him in a joking manner, but he too was sporting cold sweat. The group of five simply didn¡¯t know about these traps, or any basic knowledge except that it¡¯s a goblin dungeon. David asked around only to find out that not only does he not know the layout of the dungeon, the other four also didn¡¯t know.
The monk embarrassedly said that he received the guide book from his master, but he accidentally burnt it when cooking fried chicken, he said that all the wood was wet and that he needed to burn paper to cook. David couldn¡¯t help but roll his eyes.
The appraiser said that he came from a medium size family clan of 100 hundred, but he was disowned when he chose his class because his family was expecting him to be a fighter. So, he didn¡¯t receive any guide book about this dungeon as he is poor and is by himself.
The thief simply has no backing, she only got in this dungeon by paying a fee to the local Dungeoneering Guild who has a monopoly on this guild, she had no money left to buy a guide for this dungeon.
And Malcolm just scratched his head, saying that he forgot what his sister told him from before¡ Everyone soon became friendlier to each other, except the young thief who was still sulking from behind them. They navigated the pathway slowly, avoiding the traps as they go.
"That Mage is a F**king bastard, hummpft, I just wanted to bash his head in when I first heard his voice" An annoyed voice echoed throughout the cave.
¡®¡®Eh? Did this monk just curse?¡¯ David looked at the monk strangely.
David had a smart idea of using his tennis ball to open a way, where he rolled the tennis ball is where they walk to, if it triggers a trap, He resummons the ball again with mana to find a safe area. He repeats this over and over, stacking up a lot of exp for not only the tennis ball, his title too. They were both now both halfway through level 2.
When they got to the end of the tunnel full of traps, David was so stunned that his eyes opened so wide, and in the reflection of his pupil was a ravine, a ravine that was filled with fast rushingblue water, like a river of sharp swords, it looked like you would die painfully if you fell down into it.
A rope like vine hanged from a tree hanged from their side to the other side of the ravine. He guessed that they would have to climb across using that vine. He couldn¡¯t help but imagine falling into the cold sharp river.
Alfred told them that according to his appraising ability that he had just used on the vine, that only one person can use it at a time. Alfred went over first by using both his hands and his feet to climb across the vine, smoothly making it to the other end. Next was the monk as he was very impatient, not wanting to be one of the last ones across.
Malcolm went next, taking longer than the first two by dozens of minutes, he was shivering from fear even when he made it across safely, maybe it was because he looked down a lot. Once he made it across, he thanks the appraiser because without him, they wouldn¡¯t had known only one person could climb across at a time. They could only sweat coldly as they imagined what it would be like if they all went across at the same time, then falling to their miserable death.
Then it was David¡¯s turn to travel across the vine to climb across. He had used quite a fair bit of mana when he had to find traps with his ball, but he regenerated a small amount due to waiting around for his turn.
He found that the texture of the vine felt weird, luckily it was not a thorny vine or else the trip would be much more difficult. The vine just felt like a soft string of cotton, he tugged the vine to make sure it was not as weak as it felt, which only resulted in the vine to shake a little.
Breathing in with a deep breathe, he finally makes his way across. The freezingly cold wind brushed pass him softly, but that just made him more nervous. He had then taken a brief look down, which was a bad mistake as he felt nauseas and dizzy, the height scared the crap out of him.
"Hurry up, slowpoke" The young thief had complained, she was jumping up and down, anxious.
David couldn''t help but frown when he felt a tugging force, he then paused his advancement, only to look backwards and see that the thief had started to climb!
"Hey, get off!"David said furiously.
"You''re too slow, I''m going across now!" The young thief said impatiently and annoyed, she thought that she would be light enough that the vine wouldn¡¯t break, but she couldn¡¯t be anymore wrong.
The rope started to shake even more, David could feel the rope began to lower itself. A snapping sound could be heard from the distances as thevine connecting to the tree began to weaken, before snapping off completely.
¡°AHHHHHHHHHHHHH¡± The young thief screamed in despair as the vine from her side had snapped off, David held on tightly, he was freaked out of his mind when he felt his body descend.
He gripped the vine tightly, like his life depended on it. The thief started to scream had startled the three idle people, the monk, appraiser and Malcolm all watched with shock as they saw what had happened. David was relieved that one side of the vine was still connected to the top of the ravine, but he couldn¡¯t help but flinch as he was going to crash into the wall.

Chapter 8: Newbie Dungeon Part 2
I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion
Alexander the Great
He felt the cold hard ground break some of his bones into pieces, blood dripped out of his mouth. He was confused as to how he was still alive. But he couldn¡¯t properly find out just yet as he was in immense pain, the pain was like having a million metal shards stabbing into the core of your body. He couldn¡¯t help but moan and groan pathetically before finally opening his eyes.
He found that he was on a ledge that was hanging far down the cliff wall to which he fell on. And before him was a hole in the wall, a cave and at the entrance was the thief. Her light weight andnimbleness made her only come out of this disaster with a broken ankle, she limped out in pain while stumbling through the hole.
David had barely managed to slowly pull out the health potion, he was glad that it didn¡¯t shatter during the fall, his lizard skin bag was durable. To him, it felt like forever considering his condition. He felt himself losing a single health every minute, and as his health plummeted down to three hp left. He was finally able to drink the red potion. It was both bitter and sweet in taste.

He felt his bones and flesh regrow slowly, his body grew warmer as his wounds had closed. He rested lightly till he was fit to stand up again. He couldn''t help but rub the back of his head in discomfort, he had a bit of a concussion due to the fall, so he felt a little bit dizzy. He had to slowly walked into the cave, away from the ledge because he did not want to benearthe deathly sword-like river.
David had to thank his armor for absorbing some of the fall damage or else he would had died. He felt that his armor took a huge hit, and he rightly guessed as he saw more than 1/7 of the durability was gone.
Low Grade Water Dragon Lizard Full-Set Armour (64/75 Durability)
He was able to check his armour status without being an appraiser because the item was already appraised. In this world, once an item is successfully appraised, it leaves an imprint where non-appraisers can see the items status by touch. That rope-like vine clearly was only fit for one person to cross at a time if the status was checked, so he couldn¡¯t help but feel hostility for this ignorant girl who almost caused him to die.
Inside the cave he could see the thief, Sarina, looking excited from something. He then turned his head to see where she was gazing at. He had a hint of surprise in his eyes as he saw that at the end on the cave were three wooden chests. Treasure chests.
"Two of them are mine, you can have the last one over there" She pointed at the chest at the end, it was worn down, rusty and brown, whereas the other two she wanted were bright gold with crystal gems for decoration, giving off a wealthy vibe.
"No way! You almost had me killed!" David yelled in complaint, but the young thief went ahead anyway, taking out a silver lock pick to open one of the golden chests.
"If it wasn''t for me, we wouldn''t be here, you''re lucky I''m giving you one, hummpft!" She said arrogantly while stabbing the lock pick into the lock. The reason was because David was level one in his class, she thought that he was an ant, weaker then her. She didn¡¯t care if he was a noble. What was a noble to her? Someone she could steal from.
Click
"Hello trea......" But before she could finish her sentence, a small bloody hole appeared in her chest. Her heart was punctured cleanly which made her eyes grow wide open in disbelief before she fell, slumped dead.
David saw that the treasure chest was alive, it had sharp gnarly teeth, on the lid of the chest were two sinister looking eyes that had just opened, and a long sharp tongue poking out, which iswhat had stabbed into the thief heart, killing her instantly. David had obviously studied about traps during his one-week training period, but it was only the basics. His tutor didn¡¯t know that there would be these creatures in this dungeon because he and that young dead thief were the first people ever to discover this place. He probably wouldn¡¯t had died due to his armour if he blindly tried to open the chest, but he would at most be close to death.
The chest turned towards him looking in disdain, trying to taunt him as it ate the girl¡¯s body. The flesh and bones had all been gulped up. But After getting over his initial shock, he pointed his right palm towards the monstrous chest.
¡°Fireball!¡± David shouted towards the unknown creature.
The arrogant treasure chest stared at the crackling ball of flame in slight fear, its movement were too slow to waddle away now. It then unexpectedly opened its mouth, David saw the inside of the creature, there were no sparkling treasures except the flesh of the dead girl.
''Crisp''
The monster swallowed the flaming ball. But this action made it start to cough out black smoke and ashes, the flame did intense damages before it died out inside the fleshly body of the chest. The chest smelt like a barbeque as the inside of the monster were cooked just a little, this made it go raging mad with fury.
Its eyes went red and its body started to tremble, and the room started to quake as the treasured chest monster moved its body forward. The creature was in a berserk state. This scared the shit out of him, but he quickly calmed down to breathe.
Shooting another fire ball at the creature, the only direction it the creature could take was forward, so the ball of flames crashed in the chest easily. This time a small fiery ember had latched onto the skin of the chest, and it caught fire quickly.
It went senseless, screeching out stridently like a dying spider, the high pitch scream coupled with the wailing body, David couldn''t help but feel a tight feeling inhis chest, it was getting hard to breathe.
¡®Die faster please¡¯He pleaded.
The dying scream went on for a little longer, haunting him for a moment until a holographic notice came before him.

¡®Sigh¡¯
Slumping down in cold sweat, his hair became messy and wet while his forehead creases in pain. He was breathing heavily while trying to recover his mind and body as he meditates.
His health is too low at this moment, and it takes himthree hours just to regain just a single point of health back. Asingle mana point is regained every ten minutes, so he had to rest for about around a week to get back to full health naturally.
His eyes caught sight of the burnt flesh of the dead mimic, and he then suddenly find myself scared of chests, big or small, you never know if there is amimic beneath it all.
Looking around this small cave David couldn''t help but think that it would be joke if the other two chests were mimics, he thought that there should at least be some wealth here or why else go through the trouble of creating a hidden room, that no one had ever found, except for now.
The cave could not be seen from the top of the cliff, even when you climb across the vine. Discovering this place was pure accidental, so he didn¡¯t know if this was a blessing or a disaster. He was now staring at thetwo chest, he decided to shuffle closer to them slowly until he got around a few metres in front of the golden coloured box.
Hmmmmm....
He pretended to be someone greedy, rubbing his hands and laughing the same way the thief had did before, he put on a show to pretend he was going to open the golden chest. But suddenly, he quickly unsheathed his bone dagger, before rushing off towards the golden chest, he stabbed out towards the head of the chest.

He knew that it would have low intelligent, so he easily tricked that mimic to kill with his dagger by stabbing it in the brain, he didn¡¯t have enough mana to use his fire or water magic spells. He also found out that when he killed the mimic with the dagger, he didn¡¯t get any exp in fireball, waterball or his title, which was obvious.
He then checked the status of his dagger. The dagger as lost one points in durability, he thought it was because it was used to kill.
Low Grade Lizard Bone Dagger (59/60 Durability)
Not wasting any time, he did the same thing towards the last chest, the old worn out plain chest which was smaller than the other two. He had used his dagger to forcefully open this chest. He didn¡¯t lose a single point in durability for his dagger this time, maybe it was because he didn¡¯t kill anything, but then the chest clicked. This was his cue that it was now opened and inside the hollow box were some objects, a vial of green substances. It was bubbly and murky, green and muddy.
¡®What the heck is this?¡¯He thought in disgust before putting it in his bag.
¡®I wonder if Alfred could appraise it...¡¯
The otherobject inside was a round crystal clear blue stone, his fingers wrapped around it softly, the touch of the stone felt and smelt cold and salty like the ocean water, it texture was icy. He did not know what the stone was untilhis personal interface opened with a message.
[Note]

[Do you want to absorb it?]

Ye...Yes
He thought carefully before deciding to do it, he was curious. The cold blue stone disappeared into a flash of light, the light entered through the middle of his forehead making him cringe as he felt the freezing crystal aura inside his body, making him shiver coldly before paying attention to what happened next.

''So, this exclusive to my class? Just becauseI am a Sphere Summoner, I could absorb magical spheres? Or is it because of my title? Doesn''t this seem a little too OP...¡¯He thought happily at this outcome even if he was confused.
Wracking his brains for thoughts, he finally decided to choose waterball. He wasn¡¯t sure if he made the right choice, but he guessed that since the stone was water attribute, his water skill gets a bonus, and he didn''t like wasting things. He will most likely choose the option that yields the better result from now on in the future.
¡°Choose waterball¡± He said with a finalized voice.
Water Ball has levelled up!
Water Ball[Level 2, EXP 26.5/150]
He didn''t know if this transaction was worth it, as he doesn¡¯t really know the value of low crystal stones or experience points. He had a feeling that he should had choose something else, something that¡¯s more difficult to level up, but that¡¯s a thought for next time. He also found that he gained a little more than 75 exp as promised, the bonus 1.5 exp must be because of the title.
He glanced once more inside the worn-out chest and found that there was something that he had almost overlooked, it was a small piece of paper, worn down, mouldy and old. He picked it up with care before reading the content.
¡®What''s round, fragile and holds half the formula to life.¡¯
"Eh, what the heck is this?" He said confused, with a baffled expression on his face. But seeing that it''s nothing but a weird riddle, he placed it back inside the chest, and stored that sentence towards the back of his mind before walking back towards the entrance of the cave and onto the ledge.
Stretching his body to warm up, he decided it was time to climb the vine hanging down from outside the cave. This scared him because of the sound of the river roaring from below keeps sending chills down his spine. It takes a lot of strength and energy to reach the top, although it did take him around nearly an hour, he was finally safe on top of the cliff. The trio were not there, but he was glad anyway to finally be away from the river, he was also thankful that the vine did not break during his climb, he felt very lucky.
With a little bit extra mana back, he felt like he could continue at any time, but he was still tired and exhausted. His hair was drenched in sweat coupled with his heavy breathing, after a short rest he finally had the strength to move on.
He saw footprints leading further down the tracks, so he followed it closely. He had to pause every now and then becauseit took him a long time to get through the new tunnel, he was careful about any traps or enemy that could possibly come out. Using his tennis ball to scout the way, this made him gain exp freely in both his title and his tennis ball, but luckily there wasn''t any danger. His mana also went up again during this journey, as he got to the end, his face went blank, he was dumbfounded.
It looked like a small outpost made of crude wood, sharpwooded fence surrounded a small village where miniature green humanoids were in abundant. Goblins all wearing hard leathered amour, holding spears and swords, some even had bows. There was a taller goblin that stood out from the rest, leading the pack and giving orders, it wore a dark green robe and it was holding a magical wooden staff. It was a goblin shaman.
He then had suddenly felt a hand grabbed him from behind, the big hand covered his mouth and stopped him from making a sound, it turned out to be the monk, he moved him away from the goblin villages sight and towards a giant boulder where the other were hiding.

All strange and terrible events are welcome, but comforts we despise

He was glad that he didn¡¯t overreact at the time or else he would had attracted the full force of the goblin tribe, and that would had been very unfortunate since he only had a little bit of mana.
So, he let them take him behind the huge boulder and decided to act like them, laying low for now. Malcolm was happy to see David alive and well, so were the other two for some reason, and before they asked what happened, they turned their eyes to search for the young thief with an annoyed expression.
They all tried to spot her coming in from the entrance where David had come from, but David just shook his head, he couldn¡¯t help but feel angry when remembering her, it was the second time he wanted someone to die so badly, the first was that bandit who made fun of him and Maggie from before.
After carefully thinking about what to say, he decided to come clean about what had happened. How he had accidentally stumbled up a random ledge in the cliff which had saved his life. He found three treasure chests in a hidden cave from where he fell. The trio¡¯s eyes lit up when he mentioned those two words, but then went dumbfounded as they heard that two of the chest were carnivorous mimics.
He also come clean about the details of how the young thief died and everything she said. The Monk stared at him with his black pupiled eyes, scanning his face with what seemed like an ability. The monk felt that he had detected no hint of dishonesty. So, the monk and the other two boys believed the story. They wanted to know the treasure he got from the last chest. David only told them that it contained the mysterious vial, and a poem.
He purposely left out the crystal for obvious reason; he didn¡¯t want anyone to know that he absorb crystals yet. He then suddenly remembered something, he slowly took off his bag and took out the mysterious vial of murky green liquid and passed it onto the dumbfounded appraiser.
He told Alfred that he wanted it appraised. Alfred nodded in agreement. Alfred also did say that Malcolm did not have to owe him for this task as appraising new items will give him free experience points, and that would be enough payment for him to bear.
Alfred took a hold of the vial carefully, he tinted his glasses and started to seriously look observe the object, suddenly he activated an appraising skill, luckily it didn¡¯t cause any big commotion, but the skill made his eye light up for just a moment. David saw that Alfred was carefully reading something, he thought that it should be a holographic note. So he smiled, because that meant the appraisement was a success.
Alfred had sighed, before handing the vial back to its owner. David quickly, but carefully held it in his hands and focused his mind on it.
Goblin¡¯s Insanity Potion (Max upgrade is E+, Last for 3 minutes)
[Increases Strength by a minor grade]
[Increases Dexterity by a minor grade]
[Decreases Intelligence by a minor grade]
[Decreases Perception by a minor grade]
"So, thispotionis called GoblinsInsanity, it is said to increase your strength and dexterity by a minor grade but decreases your intelligences and perception by a minorgrade also. The limitations are that that you your strength and dexterity will not increase over E+ Rank and that the potion will only last for three minutes"
He read out softly for the others to hear, but he couldn''t help but be let down from disappointment. So, if he was to drink it now, his strength and dexterity will go from F to F+, but his intelligence and perception would go from F to F-¡
¡®Does F- even exist?¡¯ He thought with confusion.
He would not dare use it because, who would want to go extremely dumb? He wanted to move on, so he placed the potion back in his bag, and then he told them about the strange riddle.
¡°What''s round, fragile and holds half the formula to life¡± He said embarrassedly.
To which they dismissed, it was totally random which is why he left the paper back at the hidden cave. They were now on another matter, the goblin tribe. Observing the village from afar, they could see that there were around twenty or so goblins, maybe more inside their village grass huts.
Malcom suggested that they should just rush in, but there was a problem with facing both the spear wielding taller goblins, who can poke from a safe distance, and the goblins with bows that could support from afar, anyone of them would quickly turn into a human porcupine. Another fact is that there will only be three of them fighting as Alfred is at least almost useless in combat. He could at most, with his higher perception, small frame and appraising abilities, become a scout if needed.
David suggested to divide and conquer the enemy, but they were all confused as to what he was talking about. Instead of explaining, he decided to give a little show, he did repeatedly say that it fine for me to go and that he knew what he was doing. This calmed them down a little, they were all following from a position not so far away, so they could see his every action.
He walked out slowly from the hiding spot, crouching down low as to avoid detection, holding tightly onto the bone dagger and luckily in this underground dungeon, there were a lot of huge rocks to hide and sneak around, so he could get closer to the outer edge of the village while still hidden.
He saw that there was a spear wielding goblin wandering around on the edge, kicking stones and picking its nose. He saw the goblineattheslimy green booger which made him nearly voice out in disgust.
He was stalking him from behind a rock, so he decided to take out the tennis ball slowly. He was still very nervous, but he held himself together while breathing softly as to not make a fatal mistake. David then decided to roll the tennis ball a few metres away from him, the ball wasn''t too far away, and it was lead to an area out of sight from other goblins. The noise was at a minimal, but enough to attract the attention of that singular goblin.
¡°Dar daan maach¡± The goblins voice was croaky and hoarse, David didn''t understand a word it said, but the goblin had slowly scuttled towards the tennis ball, still on guard. The goblin pointed it spear in the direction where it heard a sound, and it didn''t see anything but a small green ball. The goblin decided to drop its spear just to pickthe ball up slowly for a closer observation. This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
¡°Tuun tuur¡± It played withthe ball while squeezing it with joy, but little did he know that a human was sneaking up from behind with a sharp bone knife.
¡°A kuugaan ar¡± Was the last thing it said before a flash of red blood squirted out of its neck like a waterfall. David quickly hid the body behind a large rock, so it could hide out of sight from the village before returning towards the dumbfounded trio with his tennis ball.

"Wow that''s awesome" Malcom said while giving a thumb up.
After they all finally calming down they all planned to do the exact same thing all over the village until the number of goblins dwindle down vastly. It was decided that Malcolm and the Monk will handle the archers, while Alfred and David will take care of the spear wielders.
¡°Break a leg¡± David whispered to them for good luck, but this saying wasn''t known to this world, so they were all confused by what he said, but David had just shrugged and laughed it off without explaining and started to move off on his own.

These were the last words of the three goblins that he had managed to slay smoothly. For some reason, killing goblins didn¡¯t bother him as much as he thought it would, maybe because the situation he was, was still unbelievable to even himself. He cleared his mind of any distracting thoughts before another trap for another wandering goblin. But something unexpected had happened...
"AHHHHHHH"
He heard a loud scream from the distance, it was Alfred, he saw that Alfred had a spear penetrated his left shoulder, it stabbed through cleanly.
All the goblins had turned to that direction and snarled, screeching out in their own language while preparing to rush out to attack. David took advantage of this, and came out of hiding, he sneaked up behind the goblin he was about to trap.
Wooosh
He had used a little too much force due, the knife slashed towards the back of the neck of the tiny goblin, its neck was very thin, so theknife hadcut through cleanly, a head fell down towards the ground with a thump, the sight was very alarming as blood was squirting out of the neck like a fountain.
David had to question himself in that my moment, he was thinking about what the hell was he doing? Why was he in a dungeon? Why did he let himself be convinced to go dungeoneering? Was it because he had one week of training? He had overestimated himself, because he could sense the anger of all the remaining goblins, onto himself. He suddenly thought that the Dungeoneering Guild Leader was not a simple person after all or else, why did it feel like she had sent him to his death¡
¡°HuukecAraalkaan,Akhan!¡± The Shaman Goblin yelled in anger, pointing towards the stabbed human intruder, some of the remaining goblins went to charge towards Alfred, and some to David because they saw him killing one of their own.
¡°Ha!¡±
Something happened, a fierce voice echoed through the dungeon, it was the Monk, he came out of hiding and charged into the village with speed, he held his giant club tightly before smashing the head of one goblin into a pulp.
This diverted the attention of the goblins focus, making them all split up, and so this is how the fight became messy and uncoordinated. The Shaman was very confused, he seems to have been shouting over and over in his own language, recalling all goblins. But as the Shaman observed his surroundings, all his loyal subjects had seemingly disappeared, the numbers of goblins had dwindled by many folds! All the archers were nowhere to be seen, thespear wielders were also missing, the Shaman had never panicked this much before, he felt immense anger, hatred and wanted to slaughter all the impudent humans as revenge.
In total there was the Shaman and six other goblins, one spear wielder and five sword wielders. David was facing two sword wielders. He gripped his bone dagger tightly before rushing out, the clumsy goblins attack seems too slow to David as they slashed down towards him. But who was David? Someone who was one step closer to becoming a pro tennis player, he had top notch athletic skills, ingrained into him since he was young by his parents.
He had easily dodged the two blows from the two goblins and side-stepped before leaping forward and stabbing the dagger into one of the goblins eyes. The dagger had penetrated all the way towards the brain.

He then took out the tennis ball he had on himself and threw it towards the other goblin. This made the goblin dumbfounded as it felt no pain, it was in a daze because what happened was too weird. It suddenly heard footsteps, but it was too late because David had stabbed it in the brain. The goblin died with endless regret and rage as it fell towards the ground, lifeless.

He was a little bit tired from all that action, but he remained calmed, he picked up his tennis ball before running off towards the others. He saw that the Monk and Malcolm had easily killed off their goblins, which means that there were only two goblins left alive, it was the Shaman, and the spear wielder who was still standing over the injured appraiser with arrogance.

They all saw Alfred grinding his teeth in pain, he suddenly took out a green coloured paper slip. David was confused about what the paper was, but the appraiser had torn the slip in half before the spear wielding goblin could finish him off. David watched in shock as he saw that the appraiser had disappeared into thin air.
The spear wielding goblin was also confused, standing there poking at the empty area, refusing to believe that its prey is gone. David was the closest towards this goblin and had easily sneaked up behind it.

The Shaman felt raw anger as it saw its last subject die ruthlessly. David and the other two decided to close in towards the Shaman, one step at a time which made the Shaman feel threatened. The Shaman roared out unintelligently before chanting a spell.
The monk with his wooden club went rushing forward towards the Shaman from behind, while brandishing his club. His skinhad suddenly turned to copper because of one of his skills. Malcolm had also came charging in with increase speed towards the side of the Shaman, using a charging skill with his sword, ready to slash down in any moment.
The monk swung his club horizontally with force, it was about to hit the Shaman, butinstead, a green glowing force exited out of the Shamans hands. It had finished its chant. The raw power of the spellhad split into three green blobs, the blobs were aimed towards all of them.
David quickly rolled to the side, narrowly dodging the toxic sludge whereas although the monk was hit, he wasn''t harmed that badly. When the acid had landed onto his left arm, with the help of the defensive copper skin he was only burnt on the outer layer of his skin before the acid was wiped clean with a piece of his clothing that he had ripped off.
Malcolm also got hit, he was really hurt badly. The acid hit his legs when he had jumped backwards to dodge, the green blob had melted some ofhis flesh. Although the leg was not beyond repair, he was now useless in this fight and had to bow out. He crawled away to get out of reach of the Shaman and away from the fight.
The Monk did not stop his momentum and had forcefully hit the Shaman with his club, crushing one its arm. The Shaman screeched out in pain. The Shaman thought that the toxic sludge would be enough to take down everyone, but who knew that all of them would get out alive with that attack.
The Monk must have had a few levels in his body protection skill as to avoid any major damage from the sludge. The Shaman had forcefully taken on the pain before shouting around three words in its own language.
The Shaman had summoned a quick spell, it sent off some tree roots from below its self, the tree root had quickly travelled underground before reaching the Monk, rooting him in place, trapping his legs for just a few seconds.
This few seconds was enough for the Shaman to summon another spell, it was a familiar chant, the toxic sludge. It was going to blast it point blank into the Monks head, and even with his body protection skill, it wouldn¡¯t be enough to save him as the Shaman could summon three blast, and all three blasts will be concentrated into one spot¡
O dech huul dhuur den...
Before the Shaman could finish his chant, David had used his own quick thinking before deciding on a solution, and after a moment, he threw the tennis ball towards the Shamans head. He figured that the ball would travel much faster than his fire or water ball spell, so that it could interrupt the spell before the Shaman had completed its chant.

The ball didn''t do any damage except interrupt that chant, but once a chant is interrupted, there would be a backlash. The Shamans glowing green arms had now started to tremble, the tennis ball did gain a neat amount exp for causing a backlash effect. This resulted in crippling the Shaman for a small moment.
The monk was still struggling to escape from the tree roots, so it was up to David to finish this off. He had wanted to save his mana since it was still so low, so he had rushed forward with his maximum speed. Seeing that the Shaman was still kneeling in agony from the backlash pain, David had stabbed towards its brain, killing it instantly with his lizard bone dagger.

He watches in silence as the exp fill his status, making him almost level up in multiple categories before slumping down onto the ground, out of breath and energy. Cold sweat could be seen dripping down his forehead as he had imaginec what would had happened if they had charged in to face the whole goblin tribe instead. But luckily, they had played it smart, dwindling down the numbers of enemy before facing the leader.
The Monk had finally freed himself, but the fight was already over, so they both decided to check out how Malcolm was doing.
Malcolm were in no shape to continue and had to bow out. He decided to leave, David didn¡¯t know what he meant, but Malcolm had already taken out a green paper slip and had ripped it. Malcolm wanted to see if they would survive, and once he had seen them killed the Shaman, he wished them good luck before he had disappeared into thin air.
¡°What was that?¡± David said in confusion towards the Monk.
¡°Wait you don¡¯t know what that is?¡± The Monk said dumbfounded.
¡°Should I?¡± David said while scratching the back of his head.
¡°You¡ Didn¡¯t you get an escape charm before coming into this dungeon?¡± The Monk said with a disbelief tone, but all David did was shake his head.
¡°Do you want to kill yourself? You¡¯re only level one and yet you don¡¯t have an escape charm¡¡± The Monk said as if he was looking at a crazy person. David asked about the escape charm and the monk replied that the green paper slip that Alfred and Malcolm had used were low level escape charm used to escape newbie level dungeons.
The Monk had a weird question, he wanted to know who sent him to this Dungeon. But he had a dumbfounded look when David said that it was the local town Guild Leader. David then explained all the circumstances that had happened; the one-week training, the armour and weapon gifts, the potions, and the spot in this dungeon.
¡°You better be careful¡± The Monk said with a serious tone before continuing on.
¡°I advise you to separate yourself with that Dungeon Leader, quickly go travel on your own, far away from this land because, she does not care for you at all.¡± He said courteously, David was stunned at this statement before issuing the Monk to explain.
¡°She had only giving you one week of training before sending you to the death pit with no hesitation, she had even known what your level is at and knew that it would be near impossible for you to come out alive with that status. That one-week training is far from enough, I had around nearly six years of training before going into my first Dungeon. Also, she did not give you an escape charm, this shouldn¡¯t be too expensive, but the fact that she didn¡¯t tell you about it means that she does not care all that much about you. One health and Mana potion is far too little, just look in my own spatial ring¡± He said quickly before holding out his hands and releasing something.
David was shock to see items come out of nowhere, the Monk explained that it was his ring, and that his master bestowed him it. David also saw many health potions, at least a dozen or so, there were also some mana potions as well but there were only around five. This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon.
¡°You see, with this, I could take out the entire goblin camp by myself, but it was too much of a drag, and I would had probably wasted all these potions just to do so¡± The monk said while handing David one health and one mana potion each before putting the items back into his ring. The Monk said that he was going to give Malcolm a potion too but who knew that he would be so quick to leave. David accepted them with a stunned expression.
¡°This is because of you, your idea, that I get to save so many potions, so helping you this much is just normal¡± The Monk said while shrugging.
¡°Thanks¡ But how do you know if the Guild Leader is not trustworthy just from this?¡± David said while still sceptical.
¡°Well I know this, most people have grudges against Nobles, no offense¡± He said while looking at David before continuing.
¡°She probably wouldn¡¯t want you to die in the land that she oversees, and even if she wanted you dead, she couldn¡¯t because there is a group called NPS, Noble Protection Services. It is run by a group of high levelled people who are talented in investigation and detection. They have branches all over the continent and are a service to all nobles. If a noble die, they can pick it up with an advance device, and once they found the area of death, they will stop at nothing to figure out what had happened. The only exception is that they won¡¯t investigate death in a dungeon. So, I am guessing that she would had sent you to your death this way so that she can keep her hands clean.¡±
David was stunned, he briefly remembered what the Guild Leader had said towards him.
"I will not have a noble dying under my watch, so, I will ensure your safety inside this town"
David thought that about this, then his face went white, he was trembling in fear because of this realisation. The Guild Leader had created an environment where he could feel trusted, she gave him a tiny bit of training with some gear and items, creating an illusion that he was ready to take on a dungeon. She probably took advantage of the fact that he didn¡¯t know how hard a Newbie Dungeon was and sent him to his death. She won¡¯t have him die in the land she oversees, but that didn¡¯t include inside a dungeon, where his death won¡¯t be investigated.
David had clenched his fist tightly, slightly regretting giving away vital information to the Guild Leader. He decided that he had to ask the Faeris twin for help in running away from this area after he had left this Dungeon. That is, if he was still alive by then.
He had calmed down after breathing in and out for a moment, he then decided to drink both the potions that he was gifted.
Gulp gulp gulp
Health 100/100 Mana: 84/100
He felt his body restore back to its pinnacle, his mana was almost full. He could do a fireball spell four times which was alright.
After cleaning themselves up of blood, they decided to move on to the next phase. Davidcouldn''t help but feel nervous, but he was thankful for the Monk help. The Monk didn¡¯t need to go out of his way to explain anything and help him in this Dungeon. He guessed that the Monk should be at least be trustworthy enough to be considered a friend.
He clenched the tennis ball tightly in his hand tightly before placing it back into his pocket for him to use whenever he is ready. They both walked down the dark gloomy tunnel towards the end until they saw light.
At the end of the tunnel was a final room. There was a giant hobgoblin in the centre of the room, meditating, and behind it was a transparent orb which was the size of a head, it must be the Dungeon Core. The Dungeon Core was locked inside a tight metal cage with a lock, and the key was hanging on the Hobgoblins neck.
Oddly enough there was a statue of an Orc Wargod, blocking a huge stone door and on top of the door was a sentence.
Complete the Riddle
Just a few minutes after the duo had entered, they had heard sound coming from another cave they had found beside them. Five silhouettes could be seen coming from this cave and those five people had caught up to them.
"Where are the other trash? They died? What a joke¡" The familiar Mage muttered under his breathe. He was the only one that was squeaky clean, his robe had no sign of dirt but the other four from his group look injured, and extremely annoyed.
"You six go forward while I support from behind" He voiced out in a loud domineering tone, which had unfortunately drawn the attention of the meditating Hobgoblin.
O duulaan ghaan ac rhar
The Hobgoblin voiced out in annoyance before standing up. Its two-metre-tall body stood over all of them with its red glaring eyes. The Hobgoblin scanned the mage menacingly to which the small puny human trembled under that gaze.
The Hobgoblin roared out a massive sound wave which shook the earth, the creature than picked up a giant boulder with all its strength.
F**k!They all heard mage curse. The Hobgoblin was aiming for that fire mage, and everyone couldn¡¯t help but sigh in relief, some even watch with amusement. The mage had panicked and ran towards a random team member. This was someone forgettable, a young boy with the class of a warrior, the warrior panicked trying to run away, but the mage followed closely behind.
Suddenly, a huge rock came shooting like a cannon ball towards the two boys. The mage suddenly kicked off the warrior and with that momentum he barely jumped away to safety while the warrior had also barely escaped. The warrior had to use an escape charm with much regret before the boulder had come crushing down to the area he was just at.
Everyone was shocked, but the mage had just played it off like it was normal, he was complaining about how that warrior was laughing at him, and that, that was the price to pay. But now wasn''t the time for any inside argument as the Hobgoblin had decided to rush forward.
Boom boom boom
Its steps were like small earthquakes. David was very shaken as he thought about his abilities. ¡®Will fireball or waterball do any damage to this thick muscular Hobgoblin?¡¯
Katniss the archer began to fire a volley of arrows, dozens of arrows shot into the body of the Hobgoblin, but it only went in an inch deep. It was barely doing any damage, if anything, it just made the Hobgoblin even more mad. She only had drawn just a small amount of blood of the enemy, she then tried to aim for its eyes, but it protected its eyes with its hands.
Ned the rogue and another person from their team, an assassin, tried to sneak towards the Dungeon Core to end the dungeon expedition without killing the final boss as they knew how to pick lock. But unfortunately, the Hobgoblin had caught wind of this. Probably because they were stained with blood, if they were clean, they could had avoided the Hobgoblins detection, but the stench of blood had given them away.
The Hobgoblin stomped the ground hard with its massive feet. This caused some jagged rocks to fall from the ceiling for it to use as a projectile weapon. The Hobgoblin was smart, using long range first to pick them off one by one.
The Hobgoblin threw around a dozen rocks towards everyone. But it flew slowly, not enough to put anyone in danger. Everyone dodged smoothly except for the assassin. The assassin was acting cocky, moving closer towards the Dungeon Core instead of retreating like the rogue. A fragment of a rock had stabbed into his leg, making him trip over. The assassin had a face full of regret as he saw another rock shooting straight towards him. He couldn¡¯t dodge with the injury, so he had to bow out, directly tearing apart an escape charm.
¡®This is a Newbie Dungeon?¡¯ Davidthought after the final rock was thrown. That rock didn¡¯t hit anyone, but it did create some terror in some of the dungeoneerers mind.
He wondered how other people had finished this dungeon. Katniss began to shoot the arrows at the Dungeon Core, but it was too far away. Even if the arrows had made it, the metal cage would block them off, because the gap between each metal bars were tiny.
There was now only the five of them left to face this boss... David, The Monk Zhao Yin, The Archer Katniss Pritchard, The Rogue Ned Whiker and the Fire Mage Darius Firoach.
The Hobgoblin had once again, put its sight onto the fire mage before rushing with frustration as it hadn¡¯t managed to kill anyone just yet.
¡®TheGod of Inferno, Grantus, lend me your power, I summon thee Dragons Breath!¡¯
The mage chanted quickly while holding out his staff, mass of fire erupted from the staff. The fire then began to rush outwards like a cone. It was just like a dragon¡¯s breath, as its flame was extending for more than ten metres long. The Hobgoblin who was now screaming out in pain and its skin blackened like charcoal with the smell of burnt flesh and ash wafted through the air. But this wasn''t enough¡
The burnt Hobgoblin was still standing, and it was slowly moved forwards under the pressure of the fire, the mage mana began to deplete until it was empty, he was frightened to see the Hobgoblin smile sinisterly once the spell had worn off.
Crack
The monster turned to see that his left ankle was crushed. Behind the Hobgoblin stood a copper skinned monk who was emitting a righteous aura with muscles tensed to the max. The monk had continuously smashed down with his wooden club.
Booom!
The Monk was sent flying through the air for dozens of metres before landing down onto the ground, causing a small crater. The arrows were still going strong, turning the Hobgoblin into a porcupine, but it still did very little damage.
David was stunned as to what to do, should he run towards the Dungeon Core? But how will he destroy it if it¡¯s in a cage, the Core isn''t exactly as weak as an egg. He estimated that he couldn¡¯t break it easily without taking it outside the cage.
He had to make a quick choice as the Hobgoblin was currently heading off to finish the injured Monk.
He, after a brief moment of thinking, had firmly decided that he was going to help fight, he wanted to save his newfound friend from danger.

Chapter 11: Newbie Dungeon Part 5 (End)
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and and then beat you with experience
Mark Twain
He bravelymovedtowards the Hobgoblin. He was slowlystepping steady steps while also thinking of a plan. The Hobgoblin was currently in a frenzymode, from not only being overcooked. It was also being turned into a porcupine by the archer and it had a broken ankle bone due to the crushing blow of the Monk.
The mage had started trembling from the lack of mana, he was tiptoeing backwards as to not catch the attention of the giant monster. The mage was pitful as he had already used up all of his mana potions beforehand.
ROOOOAR!
Roaring out in anger and frustration as the Hobgoblins legs stumbled forward, forcefully walking to his target. But it was too injured because all the damages it had suffered from had stacked up on top of each other. But it still wasn''t enough to bring the green humanoid beast down.
Woooooosh
The archer kept firing shots after shots until her reserves of arrows completely depleted. She soon fell into a state of despair as the Hobgoblin decided to go for her.The Hobgoblin had fallen into a berserk state, so it ignored all kinds of pain while charging forward, savagely towards the girl.
The ground shook heavily as it continued treading on its path, its monstrous red eyes stared at the little girl in hatred. It was now standing tall over the girl with an overbearing pressure. She tried to run away backwards but couldn''t move very far. She was being soaked from a powerful murderous aura. To her it felt like gravity had held her in place. This must be one of the skill the creature has.
The Hobgoblin was now within arm¡¯s reach of her. But before it could grab the girl with its own two hands, a small fire was set upon its head. The Hobgoblin felts its head warming up, making it sweat profusely. Soon its head went from warm to boiling hot as the fire grew fiercer on its head.

David had sent a fireball hoping that it would kill the beast, but that was wishful thinking as the fire was easily extinguished. Its huge hands had wiped the fire dry, killing the flame instantly. The full body of the Hobgoblin was already burnt, so that fireball had did additional damage to its head, burning into its flesh and reaching the skull. Everyone could see a piece of that skull from outside. David felt that it was too bad that the flame didn¡¯t reach its brain.
A Dech Mech o Rharar!
It was now extremely angry and furious as white misty smoke breezes out of its nose. The Hobgoblin had now forgotten about its initial target and began to rush towards David who is feeling extreme terror. The Hobgoblin speed had also increased, this scared away the rogue who was trying to sneak towards the dungeon core. The rogue had immediately ran back towards the entrance where the fire mage was currently hiding and resting.
Katniss sighed in relief, but she didn''t stop her offence because the person who saved her was in danger, she began to pick up pebbles to throw but that just bounced off the tough skin of the Hobgoblin, not doing any damage at all.
David saw the huge rushing creature. It scared him to death, but suddenly, he felt a hand brush against his shoulders. It was the Monk. The Monk pulled out his giant club. brandishing it before telling David to run away while he takes on the Hobgoblin. But David shook his head in disagreement, if he wanted to run away he would had done so ages ago.
At this moment, he couldn''t help but think carefully for a solution. His briefly thought of the club. That club reminded him of something, something from his old world.
¡®A Bat!¡¯ He thought while pulling the Monk¡¯s arm, asking for his attention.
"How good is your clubbing skill?" David asked abruptly towards the monk while taking out the tennis ball.
"What? Uh, its pretty good, I have a passive monk skill that increase my blunt weapon proficiency, why?" The Monk said in a confused tone. David held out his right hand while holding onto his tennis ball. The ball had suddenly turned into a ball of flame.
Health 100/100 Mana: 45.8/100
The Monk looked into David¡¯s eyes confused, but then caught up onto the plan. He nodded as he had suddenly leapt away and once David also got into position. David readied his arm for the next thing to happen¡
He threw the fiery tennis ball towards the Monk with his fastest speed. The Monk aimed his club before taking a swing, like a bat, the wooden club smashed into the ball hitting it into the distance. The ball rushed like lightning towards the center of the berserk Hobgoblins head.
''Dong!''
The ball of fire moved so fast that it drilled into thick head of the creature, the fiery ball rotated fiercely as it burned into the skull. The ball drilled all the way to the brain, ripping it apart while also burning into a fiery bonfire due to the heat of the ball.

The corpse of the Hobgoblin flopped down onto the ground with a loud thump. It was as dead as a doornail. Everyone was shocked at that final attack, that killing blow. But unfortunately, David didn''t get the killing exp as he never got a holographic note saying that he killed it. But he had at least gotten some exp for participation. He thought that if he had gotten this much exp for participating, he couldn''t imagine how much the Monk had gotten for making the killing blow.
His Tennis Ball, Title and Fire Ball had all levelled up which made him feel excited. He felt the tattoo on his hand, glow for a moment. David had startedwalking towards the burnt corpse. The heavy smell of ash and blood wafted through the air strongly. He couldn''t help but cover his nose as he grew nearer to his target.
There on the corpses¡¯ neck was a silver key. He quickly tore it off the Hobgoblins neck before reuniting with the Monk. They were both smiling due to the Dungeon Boss being killed, which meant that this horror show was finally over.
They both slowly moved towards the metal cage. Katniss also came running after them, she was smiling brightly, showing her white teeth for all to see. She was thankful to David for saving her at that time. Those three continued to small talk until they got to the cage.
David¡¯s¡¯ hand was trembling due to excitement, but he forcefully held himself together as he places the key in the keyhole, and had and began to unlock the cage. During this moment, he couldn''t help but think about the strange statue in the distance.Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

[Crystal Sphere Detected: Low Grade Dungeon Core]
[Do you want to absorb it?]
[Yes/No]
¡®What!?!¡¯
He shouldn''t be that surprised really as it did make sense. But what would happen after he had absorbed the Dungeon Core?
He really wanted to find out immediately, but he felt a tugging force in my heart. He suddenly felt like he would regret not checking out the mystery behind the mystery statue and the door behind it, if he completes the dungeon right now.
"What are you waiting for" The Monk said in a questioning tone.
"Just that... I want to solve the riddle¡± David said, pointing towards the statue.
"Don''t be ridiculous, no one had solved it ever!" A sharp voice had appeared from behind, a pathetic looking mage came out from nowhere. He kept repeating over and over to hurry up and destroy the Dungeon Core.
David ignored him and started walking up towards the statue. This was a statue of an Orc War God dressed in heavy army, it had one hand out, holding out a palm as if it was ready to receive something. The other participants had followed him from behind.
"What''s round, fragile and holds half the formula to life" David said out loud, telling the other people that it¡¯s from a riddle he found in a hidden room.
"Maybe it''s the Dungeon Core?" Asked the young girl.
He had placed the Dungeon Core onto the palms of the statue and waited, nothing happened, to which the mage complained that it was a waste of time.
"Hmmmmmmm" The monk was thinking carefully about the riddle before opening his eyes wide, the monk hurriedly ran up to the statue. and looked under the statues waist, funnily enough, the monk exclaimed.
"His balls are missing!" The Monk said, shouting out towards the others.
¡®His balls?¡¯ David thought, dumbfounded.
They all went to check, and there under the waist region, were two big holes¡
"Maybe we need to complete the riddle by giving it balls?" David suggested.
But what could be used to give him balls? Stones? All the stones around here are jagged and rough. They won¡¯t fit inside the hole.
The mage then took out a crystal gem, it was like the water crystal David had found before, but this one was red, warm and bright. The mage then placed the crystal in one of the hole and it had fit perfectly. But there was still one more slot missing.
David knew that he would probably regret absorbing that water crystal...
¡®I hope this works,¡¯ He thought as he used his mana to summon another tennis ball as the other had turned to ashes. He slowly tried to place it in the other slot, and strangely enough, it worked!
There was a rumbling sound coming from the door behind, it started to crack and after a few minutes the whole rocky door crumbled down onto the ground, leaving an opened entranced with a stone staircase.
The Mage quickly snatched back his fire stone and had rushed up the stairs with haste. David left the tennis ball there as it wasn¡¯t that precious. He quickly followed up behind the mage, the other participants also followed up. Everyone was incomparably excited as they imagine what kind of treasures await them in this secret room.
At the end of the stairs, was a very small room with a table. On that table were ten objects. To be clear; there was a golden crown, a set of red gloves, red boots, a mysterious dagger and a piece of paper. The other five items were crystal stones, which none were of the same colour.
As the Mage was about to loot the treasure room, everyone had ganged up on him, saying that everyone will have to get a share. They had all decided that they could choose only one object and stone. The mage had stamped his foot in anger before choosing the crown and another red crystal stone, after all he is an arrogant fire mage.
Katniss had chosen the boots and a whitestone. The Monk chose the gloves and a brown stone. The Rogue had chosen the dagger and a purple stone.
David had to reluctantly choose the paper, at first it was blank, but after touching it, words began appearing. But he didn''t understand the writing at all. He had also taken the last stone, it was colourless, but unfortunately, it wasn¡¯t spherical which means that he couldn¡¯t absorbed it.
Once everything was decided, and after unsuccessfully searching for more treasure in the room. David then decided to absorb the Dungeon Core.

David saw everyone leave, he was the only one left inside the dungeon. And suddenly, the whole dungeon started to tremble, David was feeling quite flustered. The Dungeon shook gravely, and it felt like it was also shrinking. The walls began to cave in. David felt deep pain at the back of his head before slumping down onto the ground, blacked out. Asmall rocky debris had fallen from the ceiling and had crashed into his head.
¡¡¡¡¡¡..
¡®Ughhh¡¯ David moaned in pain as he woke up sleepily. He founded himself a little bit dizzy, but when he touched his head, he felt that there was a crude bandage wrapped around his wound. He was confused because as he looked around, he was in a room.
Surrounding him was a perfectly squared room made of earth. The walls, the ground, the ceilingwere all earth. And in the middle of the room was a familiar orb that was sparkling bright. The Dungeon Core which was the only source of light. He looked around more, only to find that there was no exit.
¡°Morning Master, you are finally awake!¡± A high-pitched voice echoed throughout the room. The stunned David as he thought it was a female¡¯s voice, but he soon saw the culprit, and what he saw made him drop his jaw, dumbfounded.
Flying in the air was a small person, a fairy. Two tiny wings were flapping furiously to hold up what seems like, a chubby man. This was a small obese fairy wearing a black suit, trying its hardest to fly. He had an unkempt appearance, with a scruffy beard, David saw that the voice of the fairy did not match his looks which almost seems funny.
¡°Master, thank you for freeing me, I was stuck managing this Dungeon for hundreds of years, but you freed me. I owe you a debt of gratitude, so please let me repay you with my body!¡± The chubby uncle-looking fairy said while flying closer towards David.
¡®Let me repay you with my body!¡¯ This phase was replaying in David¡¯s mind over and over¡
¡°AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!¡± David screamed as the sweaty chubby fairy came flew close to his face, he saw the expression of the chubby fairy, the fairy was blushing shyly while staring intoDavids eyes.
Splaaaaaaaaat
The fairy went flying miserably as David squatted it like a house fly. The Fairy felt like crying as it crashed into the wall with its limbs werestretched out widelike a snow angle. Butit seems that no real damage was inflicted onto the odd creature. Just only emotional damage as it kept crying pitifully.
¡®Right, why did I choose to own a dungeon?¡¯ If he had known that a chubby male fairy would call him master and would shamelessly try to sell their body to him, he would had never chosen this option¡

Chapter 12: A New Dungeon Master
You come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly
Sam Keen
It was dark cold night, the wind howled like a furious pack of wolves, brushing against everyone¡¯s skin, giving them goosebumps. The gloomy night setting did not stop the joyous atmosphere eluding into the air, once the surrounded people had seen the dungeon fluctuate. This was the signal that the dungeon core had been destroyed, and that the remaining people were coming out.
''Woooooooosh''
Four silhouettes could be seen plummeting out of the dungeons entrance. This was naturally, Zhou Yin, Katniss, Darius and Ned. All their respective family members, friends or guards had surrounded these four.
They were making sure that they were fine, if not, they were giving medical attention. But, these four final participant all had cheerful smiles on their faces. They were extremely happy to have gotten some treasures from the hidden room behind the Orc Wargod statue. The people who had quickly surrounded the four could see the treasures that they were holding, which made their eyes go green with envy.
Malcolm naturally didn''t care about those treasures, he had to forcefully quit due to his injury. This had triggered Maggie to almost suffer a heart attack. She hurriedly applied medical care to Malcolm¡¯s leg, but luckily, her fears were just an overreaction. She was scared that Malcolm would become crippled just like her, but fortunately, the wound was easily healed with no permanent damage.
Malcolm decided to wait outside the dungeon for David. Maggie too wanted to wait since she felt something for the strange young man, though she didn''t know what she had felt in him. But she was curious to see where that feeling would lead to.So once the four people had exited the dungeon, you could imagine how Malcolm and Maggie had reacted once they saw that David was not part of the group.
"Hey, where''s David?" Malcolm said with a worrying tone, brushing through the crowd towards the four participants. This alarmed both Zhou Yin and Katniss. They ignored their people and began to search around for David frantically. Zhou Yin then sighed in regret, nobody knew what he was thinking. Katniss also sighed, she felt sad because her saviour didn''t make it out, but after thinking carefully, she furrowed her brows.
"You... did you kill him before we were transferred out?" Katniss said, her voice echoed loudly through everyone¡¯s ears. Her eyes were focused onto a particular person. This person¡¯s face went black, he crinkled his brows in annoyance.
"Hummmpft, that weakling died after the Dungeon Core was destroyed? How laughable, but you shouldn''t accuse me of a crime, unlessyou want to pay for the price of slander!" Darius Firoach said mockingly as he walked towards his group. He only hada few body guards, but they were all wearing some luxurious red robes with fancy jewels and high-grade staffs. These guards all must be fire mages like him.
"If I found out you had anything to do with his mysterious death, I will kill you" Zhou Yin said ruthlessly, brandishing his club for preparation of a fight.
"Dirty monk, let me see how you will kill me! If you make a move, I won''t hesitate to turn your whole monastery into ashes!" Darius said while flaring up flames. His whole group too flared up with flames, emitting a fierce hot fiery wave towards the monk. Theiraurarootedthe monks body in place, the aura was like a heated heat wave with a strong crushing gravitational force.
"Hmmmm, why is there cockroaches here? Ah... Do I have to dirty my hand just to clear up a group of pests?" A voice could be heard in everyone¡¯s mind, it was like a deep soothing voice, clear of any negative impurities. A soft blowing wind had suddenly wafted toward the group of fiery cockroaches, the fire that they were so proud of had easily been extinguished. The group of fire mages all stood there dumbfounded, they all had their eyes wide open due to shock.
"Master!" Zhou Yin shouted excitedly. A tall hunched back old man with a regular walking cane had appeared ahead of him. This old man wore a traditional white martial artist robe. The old man had no hair, his head was very bold but shiny, and he also had six dots on his forehead, they were patterned like a regular six-sided dice.
"Disciple, I see you had found a treasure in this trashy place, hmmmm this glove is... Not bad" The old man said while looking towards the young monk.
Darius did not dare to utter a sound because he knew who this old man was. It was theGrandmasterof the Kunlun Mountain! This old man was even more stronger than his father, only his grandfather would barely be able to match up to him.Darius thought that it was laughable that he had said that he would turn that old man¡¯s home into ashes right in front of him!
This whole time, everyone who was dare did not dare to utter a sound, until the old man had taken away his disciple. Darius and his group were too embarrassed to stay so they also quickly left. They were also glad that they were ignored in the end because of what Darius said, it could had made the old man wipe them all out.
Katniss left reluctantly, taking one last look towards the dungeon. Every other group left too, leaving behind a desolate camp ground. The only people that were left was the two twins. Maggie wheeled her wheel chair towards the dungeon entrance, she placed her hands in front of it only to feel a forcefield. She bit her teeth trying not to cry, but it was no use as a single tear drop had fallen from her eye. She had lost too much, her legs, her dream, her friends, her parents and now David Lee.
Even though they had not been together for a long time, she sometimes yearn for him in her dreams, she wishes to hear more bizarre stories from this strange young man, stories that seem too out of this world. Over the week he had been in her life, he told her some folk tale stories like Cinderella, Snow White etc. He even told him about some magic artefacts, something called a plane that will let people fly from one country to another.
Malcolm also grew close to David, he sometimes trained with him too. He was punching the protective forcefield with anger until his fist bled. They both had lost too much, so losing someone that seemed like a bright shining light of hope and joy so suddenly, was very depressing.
"Enough... we will go home now but promise me this Malcolm. You will grow stronger so that you won''t die too easily, If I lose you too then I don''t know what I would do..." She said in a low sad voice.
"I promise" Malcolm said while clenching his fist. They both then began to walk back towards their home, leaving behind the lonely forest quietly.
...............
Knock knock knock
"Come in" A voice could be heard from the other side of the door.
"Oh, Perry you¡¯re here now" The Guild Leader said while looking up from her desk, she was buried in paperwork.
"Yes, the Newbie Dungeon has been completed. Four people had completed the dungeon to the end, but another four had torn their escape charm. Two people did not leave the dungeon at all, they are now assumed dead." Perry reported, but her tone went slower when she said that last fact.
"So, where is David now?"The Guild Leader said while scribbling down inside a workbook.
"I''m sorry Miss, but... David didn''t make it out of the dungeon" Perry said sadly, as she grew rather fond of the young man. That man seems to spread positive energy around everyone he talks to. He also didn''t seem to have a bad bone inside his body, he was trusting, compassionate and kind, a very rare man indeed. The Guild Leader paused for just a moment, before returning back to her writing.
"That is very unfortunate, but if that''s all, please leave, I''m very busy right now" The Guild Leader said coldly.
"Yes miss, I will recorddown the datethat is exactly three months from now, for the re-opening of the Newbie Dungeon" Perry said while bowing down towards the Guild leader. She then exited the room with an odd expression. If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it.
''That was weird, wasn''t she his master? She could at least show some more emotions towards his death''She thought while shaking her head.
Meanwhile inside the Guild Leaders Room...A sweet-sounding humming tune could be heard. The Elven lady was cheerfully humming while smiling coldly with a sneer.
''I didn''t even have to take a move myself, stupid noble. Luckily he didn''t grow because his potential was too frightening''She thought as she recalled those moments when she had heard about his abilities from his mouth. She didn''t feel at all that bad for what she did, and even if David appeared to be different to other nobles, she did not want to take any chances.
''I will kill all nobles, every last one of them will die!''She thought furiously, before humming her tune again with a smile. If anyone saw her now, they wouldn''t exactly see a homicidal maniac, they would only see a breathtakingly beautiful lady cheerfully humming and working diligently.
...............
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH, stay back!" Screamed David towards the little chubby fairy. That fairy kept rising like a zombie constantly after being swatted dozens of time. He had swatted the little fairy once more after the fairy had tried to jump onto him again.
Splaaaaaaaaaat
"Uuuuuuuuuuunnnnngghhhhhh" The fairy moaned tiredly. This time the fairy was laid flat on the ground. But suddenly, his upper body rises, his head turned towards David, his eyes stared right at him.
"Ooooarrrgghhh" The fairy''s voicesobbed out painfully as he tries to stand up. The fairy''s body was all battered and bruised, his black modern suit was entirely messed up andhis wings were crinkled. This caused the pitiful fairy to be unable to fly no matter how hardhe tried, flapping furiously will not work.
"You... you stay back!" David said, but his voice had hit empty air as the fairy continued to walk towards him. Histiny body looked almost comical as he walked slowlylike an undead towards David.
"Is my body not good enough!" The chubby fairy suddenly said while crying intense tears, but then, something happened.
Hethen began to...
Hethen began to strip!!!
"Ahhhhhhhh! What are you doing!" David said, terrified as he began to sweat coldly.
"Master, if my body won''t do then... What use am I alive?" The fairy only took offhis top, leavinghis upper body bare for all to see, you can see the rolls of fat jiggle for every small movement. But suddenly, the fairy held out its palm.
''What is it doing?'' David thought in confusion before his eyes grew wide open.
"Wait stop!" David said towards the little fellow. His voice had reached the fairy in time before the fairy had killed himself with his fingers. The sharp long finger nails had barely stabbed the skin below the fatty¡¯s¡¯ big breast. Luckily David had said something or else the fairy would had dig his nails towardsthe heart.
The fairy had suddenly broken down into tears while kneeling, David didn''t know what to do so he consoled the fairy, trying to cheerhim up. He also gave the upper garmentback towards the fairy, so it could cover his bare chest, but the fairy instead used the suit to blows its noise.
Hoooooooooonk
The chubby fairy had drenched the suit in snot from blowing too much before wearing the top again. If David was inconsiderate for the others feeling, he wouldn''t have had to hide the disgust on his face, but David just tried to maintain a relaxed expressionto the best of his ability.
"Thank you master for accepting me, I will be the bestservantever!" The Fairy said cheerfully.
"Wait servant? Is that what you meant before..." David said, with a dumbfounded expression.
"Yes, what did you think I meant? The fairy said innocently while tilting his head in confusion.
"Uh....nothing, anyway uhh, can you tell me who the hell are you?" Said David while staring down at the little guy.
"Me?" The fairy said while pointing to himself, before continuing cheerfully, "I am JoJo!"
"Uhh... What I meant is, what are you and why are you here? And, where are we? He said impatiently.
"I''m the Dungeon Core! But I was also a prisoner, imprisoned for hundreds of years just to manage this dungeon. I could never go outside of the dungeon because I was forced to stay heredue to the ordersof the higher ups! JoJo was so lonely and bored, being here every day without a friend, that is before you came!" He said while flashing a huge smile.
"This place is inside the dungeon, the dungeon had re-set into a blank state with only just a single room" The fairy added in quickly before fidgeting around.
David slowly took in this information, he thought that the fairy seems mentally unstable, since it was imprisoned here for hundreds of years. The fairy¡¯s'' body is just a projection of mass from the Dungeon Core. David suddenly felt sorry for it and decided to treat him right.
JoJo said that he basically had no free will ever since he had been born, he was forced to manage a Newbie Dungeon and was unable to do whatever he wanted. But now since David had come, David had automatically released that restriction which was holding down the Dungeon Core hostage.
Since the restriction was lifted, this was basically JoJo¡¯s first time producing a physical form ever.
Basically, a dungeons function has two options. Creation, and Summon. Both options were forcefully locked due to the higher ups orders. Now that David was in charge, he had the ability to use these functions to create whatever he wanted.
He had then decided to investigate this new function by concentrating his mind to his new status.
Dungeon Master, David Lee
Low Grade Dungeon Core [JoJo]
Dungeon, Revival Period (1/90 Days)
Dungeon Coin: 0
[Creation]
[Summon]
David saw that he needed Dungeon Coin to help build up his dungeon. Currently the reserves were reset back to zero. David felt frustrated since he couldn''t do anything right now. But he scrolled around looking in both the Creation and Summon category. In Creation, you can unlock more blocks of land like the one he is in now, you canbuy traps, decorate etc. This is more for architecture. The Summon category will let you buy monsters such as goblins, mimics, spiders, dragons, nine headed hydra etc. This is more for army building and buying underlings.
Natural, every month you get 1000 free dungeon coins. You can get more dungeon coins when your dungeon officially opens. Killing Dungeoneerers or keeping them idle and trapped will give you dungeon coins depending on their strength. Recycling items to the Dungeon Core will also give you dungeon coins.
David was stuck in a daze, thinking about what to do until he had felt a tugging force on his leggings. It was JoJo, and he looked like he wanted to urgently say something, so David issued the fairy to speak his mind.
"Uh¡ If the Dungeon Core is destroyed, you will die with me" The Fairy said shyly, revealing a shocking truth.
"Yo... You''re kidding, right?" David said in a disbelief tone before he fell to his bottom, sitting down in despair, trying to deny that statement in his mind.
His leg began to tremble, his life just got more complicated. He asked for more details, so the fairy said that every time thehe dies, he gets revived by the higher ups, but since the higher ups have no jurisdiction over him anymore, he felt that the revival will not happen again.
Jojo also said to David that he had made a Dungeon Master Contract, which meant that both their lives are bonded together.
David had decided to seriously think about his plan for this dungeon, but he couldn''t do anything due to the lack of Dungeon Coins. He then decided that since he had three-months of time before the dungeon re-opens, that he had time to train himself. Because if the worse thing does happen, and the Dungeoneerers reach Jojo¡
He would have to be the last line of defence.
Chapter 13: New Sphere Summoner Skill
Our dead are never dead to us, until we have forgotten them.
George Eliot
Inside a very small dungeon room was afurious young man. He was searching around frantically, trying to find an exit. Naturally this flustered person was David Lee. He was banging onto the walls with his hands, searching for a way out. He had been doing this for a few dozens of minutes after he had found out that his life was bondedto the Dungeon Core.
''If this core breaks, I die...''He thought, sadly while still searching for an escape. He wanted to leave because there was nothing he could do in there since he had no dungeon coins to renovate and expand the dungeon. He also briefly remembers that at level five dungeoneering, you could start earning your own dungeon coins. He didn''t know how to, but he would have to reach level five so that he could use those dungeon coins that could be earned and use it to help build the dungeon.
He didn''t want to just rely on the 1000 Dungeon Coins that the dungeon naturally generates. The dungeon would give him a total of 3000 DC over these three months and he didn''t know if that would be enough. So, he had a plan once he had gotten out of the dungeon, which were; training his combat skills, find some more newbie dungeons to reach level five dungeoneering, and after that, rack up some Dungeon Coins before teleporting back to the dungeon to build it up.
"Master, what are you doing?" A bright squeaky voice echoed throughout the isolated room.
"I''m trying to find a way out" Said David, annoyed at the fact that a tiny fairy that looked like an uncle was calling him master.
"That¡¯s easy, just focus your mind, and think about leaving" The fairy said as if it was common knowledge.
''Eh?''David had stopped banging on the walls and began to focus his mind. Funnily enough, he could feel a barrier in his mind. He made a mental figure of himself, and made that figure walk past the barrier.
Woooooooooooosh
He found himself outside. David opened his arms out wide like Jesus, he was happy to feel the sun ray shine onto him. Taking in a gulp of fresh air and admiring the healthy environment, he was finally glad to leave the dusty, boring old dungeon room, and he was also happy to leave behind the fai...
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"David heard a high pitch voice behind him, he opened his eyes wide in shock as he saw the figure copying his Jesus pose.
"I''m outside!" Shouted the fairy, he was now standing beside David, finally bathing in the sunlight for the first time.
"You... How did you get out?" David said with a shocked expression, he clearly didn''t like this outcome.
"I don''t know, but master, does this mean I get to follow you around?" The fairy said excitedly, trying its best to fly up into the sky, the fairy then landed onto the shoulder of his master, who was stunned stiff.
JoJo''s Avatar
Teleport to Dungeon (Teleport towards your dungeon from anywhere in the world with the Avatar, available only once a month, unused teleportation can roll over to next month and be stacked)
Teleportation use: 1
Death (Death of this Avatar will not result in death of the Dungeon Core, in case of an Avatars death, it can be resummoned again after one month of cooldown, also death will not affect the Dungeon Core functionality)
Long Distant Order (If Dungeon Master and Avatar is outside of the Dungeon, the Master can still take control of the whole Dungeon, through speaking with the Avatar, you can see the inside of the dungeon, this function is useful when you are in the outside world and your dungeon has been attacked.
Idleness(Avatar has zero fighting strength)
David fell into a daze, ignoring the fairy who was chattering away on his shoulders. He thought that this new function was very useful because not only does he have the ability to maintain his dungeon without being inside it, he also gets to teleport to it. But the bad thing was, that these functions were only available if the Avatar was beside him, which means that he had to take it while journeying.
He didn''t know when, but he decided to walk in the opposite direction of the Vermont Town. He did not want to be anywhere near that place. This was the town where his former teacher resides, the Elven Guild Leader. He also decided to delay his meeting with the Faeris twin. It''s not that he didn''t want to, he just had to go through Vermont Town to reach them.
He didn''t dare think about going around the town to meet them, that was just suicide because there were many wild beast, bandits and other hidden dangers. But if he was to be honest, those were just excuses. He just didn''t want to be caught and found anywhere near that area because then the Guild Leader would get word that he is alive. He did not want that to happen. He would not face her until he knew he was strong enough to protect himself against her.
JoJo was just sitting on David¡¯s shoulders, staying idle and taking in the sight of the outside world. Whenever he sees something new and exciting, he wouldmake noises like''Ooooooh, Ahhhhhhh''
David was getting bored playing with the tennis ball as to grind for exp, he didn''t expect that after getting to level three in his title, that playing normally with the ball took far longer to gain exp then before. So, while walking through the seemingly endless forest he decided to take out the mysterious paper from his bag. He briefly saw the pair of warm socks that Maggie had made which made his heart skip a beat, he then ignored the socks and began focus his attention onto the mysterious paper.
Once he held it in his two hands, the white blank paper began to shine brightly, illumination the vast lonely forest. Some mysterious ancient texts had appeared that looked like the language only gods used. He saw these texts before last time he held the paper, back in the dungeon. If he lets go of the paper, the bright shiny writing will disappear, which was odd and magical.
He felt an invisible pressure of force, radiate onto his body. He couldn''t help but tremble slightly, his hands had almost dropped the paper, but he held on tightly with a firm grip, not letting go no matter what.
The paper had caught the attention of the fairy, it began to think on its own before yelping out in surprise. The fairy was then tugging onto the ears of David, who was feeling quite annoyed at the others action.
"I feel that... I feel that you have to rip the paper in half!" The fairy said, yelling into his ears.
"Huh? Why would I do that?" David said in a questionable tone. But the fairy just told him to trust him, before pulling harder on David¡¯s ear.
"Fine, just stop that!" David snapped angrily. In his mind, he thought that it was unfair, why couldn''t he had gotten a beautiful female fairy with a higher IQ. He felt that he was cursed with balls because he had gotten a fairy that looked like a round plumb soft ball.
He sighed sadly but he had decided to trust his new companion, and although he was very hesitant, he had decided to rip the paper in half.
[Permission of the Gods has been used]
[1 skill token received]
The sparkling paper had turned into dust fragment, these specks had all gathered into mid-air, they were shining very brightly before they were sent flying into the pores of David Lee. At first, he had panicked, cursing the fairy with every creative curse word that he could think out loud. Jojo''s eyes were wide open in shock because he had never heard this kind of mouth before. How could he had known that David had been raised in Australia, and in school he had heard many different kinds swear words between friends, David had even heard his high school teacher swear as well.
"You dumbc*nt, are you trying to killme!" Cried David as he felt his body heating up to extreme temperature, but he soon had calmed downed after the heat had gone away before ignoring the flustered fairy before concentrating on the strange scene appearing in his mind.
Inside his mind was a giant holographic screen. At the top of that screen was a giant text that says, ''Permission of the Gods'' and underneath that was a whole list of text that seemed innumerable. He saw that the list contains names of skills. His jaw had reached so far down as he continue to examine everything, he saw that there werehundredsof skills. But all these skills seem to have a relation to the shape of a sphere. The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
Some of the skillswere so credulously crazy, there were skills like summoning a Sun! There were toomany unbelievable skills to count, which had made him excited.
''Would I be able to choose one of these?'' He thought, because he saw that at the bottom of the list was a text, it says that he has one token. He thought that it meant that he could use the token to choose onea skill? He didn''t dare wait any longer and had directly usedit.
Ding!
[1 Skill Token has been used]
He was prepared to choose between a few of the skills that had caught his attention, thought he didn''t have time to look through thousands of different skills, he saw a few that stood out.
Wormhole Sphere, opening up a wormhole which can be used to teleport long distance.
Meteor Shower, summon a wave of meteors to destroy cities whole.
Particle Control, bend particles to your will.
He couldn''t help but drool over all these kind of skills, he then decided ultimately decided on one of the skill, Phoenix Egg Rebirth, it was a passive that gives you an extra life. If you die, your body is reverted into an invincible egg and after a period of time, the egg hatches and you will be revived but once this is used, the skill disappears.
"Huh?" He had discovered that even after trying to choose this skill that it didn''t work, and instead, the very first skill had an arrow next to it, after that, he could see that thearrow began to travel downwards. Only one skill can be pointed to at a time, so he had guessed that this was some kind of lottery.
This had caused his once good mood to take a step backwards. He was frustrated that he couldn''t pick a skill and that it was basically a lottery, a game of chance. But he decided to stop complaining, since getting something was better than nothing at all. David Lee then apologised to the fairy, who was hiding from him behind a small bush. JoJo slowly came into view and accepted the apology, he then acted like nothing had happened before returning to sit on David¡¯s shoulders.
Davidsaw that the arrow had been moving too fast. The arrow had been moving past many kinds of abilities. He saw some skills that didn''t get to before since it was too far down the list. The arrow went over, Lightning Ball, Ice Ball, Air Ball.... Spherical Drones, Automatons, Nanobots....
He also saw some strange movement techniques like Meteor Rush, Dance of the stars, and many more. It seems that no matter what the skill was, if it was useless or not. If the skill was related to something spherical, then it¡¯s on the list.
He then saw some support skills, he didn''t mind getting any support skills such as Healing ball, Defensive Barriers and so. There were also some different kinds of orb totems, these float around you like summons, these flying balls had many uses likegifting bonus attributes, such as increase speed, or increase resistance to elements like fire and water etc.
He saw that the arrow had already reached the bottom and had returned back towards the top. Once the arrow had almost reached a skill he had wanted, he decided to shout "Stop" The arrow began to slow down. He couldn''t help but be disappointed. The arrow had slowed down drastically, and it did not stop onto any of the skill he wanted. The arrow slowly arrived at a normal skill called Earth Ball, he was very dissatisfied with this, but there were simply too many elemental ball skills, he had a higher chance at getting one of these skills than unique one.
But before he could blink, the arrow that was moving as slow as a turtle, that was on the brink of stopping, had suddenly moved onto the next skill and stopped.
[Congratulation on gaining the skill: Mystical Hyper Sweat]
His face went blank, ''Mystical Hyper Sweat? What the heck is that?'' He thought with a dumbfounded expression before looking into his personal interface.
Mystical Hyper Sweat [Level 1 EXP 0/2500]
Passive Skill, [Mystical Sweat: On]
[Turn On/Off]
[Your body is now able to secrete balls of mystical sweat]
[Mystical Sweat can unclog pores and purge basic toxins, which means that sweat load can easily open the pores and releases impurities inside the body. This also helps maintains your skin, and increases your heat resistance when coated in sweat]
Active Skill [Hyper Sweat Blast]
[Cost 80% of Mana and 99% of Stamina]
[Gathers all sweat inside of body towards the right palm, the sweat grows extremely boiling hot as it concentrates and compresses into a tight sphere, ready to discharge at any moment. The more mana andstamina you have, the stronger the blast]
[Warning, using this blast will leave you in a state of extreme exhaustion]
''What the...This skill has so many different attribute; cleaning the body of impurities and toxins, improves and maintain your skin, improves heat resistance when coated in sweat, and that¡¯s only the passive effect! There is also an ability that seems like a final finisher, a special move'' He thought excitedly.
He didn''t exactly care about the sweating part because he was an athlete, so what if he sweats twice as much as before. If it helps him grow stronger than it can only be something positive, although he was thinking about the smell factor, he didn''t want to always be smelling bad due to the sweat, but thankfully there was an on/off option.
He also thought that since his body and excrete mystical sweat now, would he be able to expel weak poison since the description of the skill said that it can allow him to purge basic toxins.
He was lost in thought, thinking about his new skill and thinking about how it was weird that the skill needs 2500 EXP to level up to level two, but the fairy beside him started to pull on his ear.
"What is it now?" David said annoyed, but the fairy just pointed to the far distance.
He looked towards that position, but he couldn''t help but grow bleak, his expression went sour as a band of bandits had appeared in sight. They also saw him and began to charge towards him. But it was too late run since they were all riding horses.
"JoJo teleport us back to the Dungeon!" Roared David who saw the bandits coming closer and closer.
"Master, it takes one hour of preparation to summon the teleportation portal..." JoJo said in a panic, releasing a bombshell in David¡¯s mind.
It was too late for regret now since the bandits had already surrounded the duo, they looked like ruthless murderous, clouds of killing intent had been directed towards them. David couldn''t help but tremble slightly as beads of sweat came pouring out of his forehead. The Mystical Sweat Passive is now working, but David couldn''t care less since the sweat was hindering him, hewas constantly wiping the sweat away from his eyes so that his vision wouldn''t be blinded.
All the bandits laughed at the young man since he looked like a scared chicken. The leader of the group had pointed hisweapon towards the duo with a murderous expression. It was a pity because David had travelled this way specifically to avoid meeting troublesome things like bandits, he also thought to himself, ''Why would there be bandits here in the middle of nowhere?''
"Was that shining light from before, you? Hurry and take out the treasure and we will leave you with one arm and leg intact!" The Bandit Leader said in a merciless tone.
¡°Wait, wait, I¡¯ll take it out!¡± David said in a panic tone. He had taken off the bag on his back and under the watchful eyes of the dozens of bandits, he had opened the bag, he then placed his hand inside.
David then started to pretend to search around inside the bag before pulling his hand back out again. The initial happy and greedy guises of the bandits had turned into one of rage because David Lee had pulled out a middle finger to all of them.
¡°F*ck you all, dogshit c*nts, go f*ck yourselves!¡± Yelled David. Although he was scared, he didn¡¯t want to die being a coward, so he bravely put of an unyielding front. His had grown back into his original personality from his old life. When he first came into this new world, he was shy, confused and clueless, but since he had been in this world for quite some time, he had finally integrated back into his true self.
Whether it was tennis or video games, he was a hooligan. Always on the offensive in both pathways. On a particular MOBA game, he calls his useless teammates noobs and trashes while in tennis he always uses overbearing serves and volley attacks. Though he is like this, he is also kind as well, he offers to help those that he calls trash and noobs by giving them pointers in private matches, though they usually reject such notion by sending a bout of curses his way.
¡°My master will f*ck your mother! You c*nts!¡± Roared JoJo, he was flashing out two middle fingers while standing on David¡¯s shoulders, he didn¡¯t want to miss out on acting thug-like. David¡¯s swearing had been picked up by JoJo, losing his innocence as this was the start of him turning into a hooligan. But even so, JoJo''s was now actually acting like how he looks like, a middle age yakuza uncle, even if he is small in sized.
¡°You¡ I will f*cking kill you bastards! Show no mercy!¡± Roared the bandit leader, he ordered all of his men to attack at once, he wanted them to dismember both of them alive so that they could feel excruciating pain before dying.
David couldn¡¯t help but feel a sense of loss, he absolutely didn¡¯t want to die here, but since he had no way to escape, he wanted to take down at least one of the bandits down with him. He had long chosen his choice of target. The Bandit Leader.
David had decided that he will use his special move, Hyper Sweat Blast to kill the man in one blow.

"Wait calm down master, you can absolutely make it out alive if you follow my instructions" JoJo had transmitted his voicewith haste into David¡¯s head as to stop him from making any rash decisions.
David was surprised for only a brief moment due to the voice transmission; he didn''t know that JoJo could do that. So he nodded slightly as to say that he had gotten the message beforetelling the fairy to hurry up as the bandits were closing in. Jojo had voiced his ideas immediately beforehiding behind David¡¯s head, gripping his collar tightly so that he wouldn''t fall off.
David had to give credit when due, he was totally surprised that this idiotic looking fairy was very knowledgeable. First it was the mysterious paper, Permission of the Gods, and although the fairy didn''t know what it was, he knew how to use it.This time it was something else...
David saw the dozens of bandits inching closer and closer on their horses, he couldn''t outrun them so had to fight. He thought that using fireball or waterball would be totally useless as they are low in levels but now after listening to the fairy, he now had at leasta few otheralternative moves, other than using a skill that will completely exhaust him.
So he swiftly took out the low grade colourless crystal and held it high up into the air. This made all the bandits pause in their movements, stopping their horses while eyeing the crystal with greed. The bandits then all turned towards the leader, awaiting new orders.
"Brat, if you hand that over now I would give you a swift clean death!'' The leader said with a hint of greed, he was afraid that David would suddenly destroy it in his palms.
"Fine, take the crystal... Now give me that swift clean death that you had promised!" David Lee said while throwing the crystal towards the leader. The way the leader is behaving, grinning arrogantly with a hint of greed in his eyes, shows how precious this kind of stone was. In fact, the leader thought that he had made an easy haul, and wondered what else was in the young man¡¯s bag.
The crystal flew into the air, but David was still holding out his palm, and as the crystal was flying within the perimeter of the bandit leader, he suddenly chanted.
"Fireball!"
A red blazing fireball had suddenly shot off into the air, towards the flying crystal. The bandit leader was too busy daydreaming about the imaginary wealth that he would easily gain to notice anything odd. As the leader was going to catch the crystal, the fireball came closing in, and slammed into the crystal.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
A small fiery explosion had occurred in the middle of the forest, startling all the wildlife¡¯s into fleeing far from the commotion.
Neeeeeigh!
Every single horse wasalarmed, they all reared in fright due to the explosion. Every horse had stood up on their hind legs, making every single bandit fall towards the ground as they run away.

Sphere Summoner had levelled up!
He had finally reached level two in his class, but now was not the time to stay idle because all the bandits were starting to recover from theirpredicament. He had seen that the leader had survived the blast, the leader had his hair and skin burnt, he was quickly wiping of the remaining flame flickering on his body.
The leader saw that his horse did not survive, and some of his men had died. He saw that all the horses had already run away, leaving them without mounts. There were only nine more bandits left, including him and they had all suffered from injuries reigning from slight to major, most of the bandits suffered from broken bones due to falling of their horses.
David Lee took advantage of this time, he ran towards a random direction, towards an area where only one bandit sits. This bandit had suffered a broken bone in his legs; he was currently writhing in pain to even notice a young man sneaking up towards him.

Using his Lizard bone dagger, he had stabbed the assailant in the eyes. The sharp edge of the dagger had penetrated the brains, instantly killing this bandit and sending him on his way towards the afterlife.
David Lee did not think that the bandit leader would had survived the blast, if he did, he might had tried to finish him off once and for all, but it was too late as all the remaining bandits had grouped up, and they were now chasing him down for revenge.
"F*cking bastard, I will torture you for 100 days straight until you die, I will make your life miserable once I get my hands on you!" The leader roared. He was charging towards David like a raging bull, and although he had drank a health potion, he still looked very pitiful as some of his body was still burnt and mangled, the potion seemed to be a weaker one then what David had used, as it only healed the leader a little bit.
David smiled wryly, although he seemed to be in a better position than before, running away with a head start on foot with the enemies losing their horses. He was still panicking internally because he saw that even though the group of bandits all have some broken bones, they were still catching up to him. Their speed was faster than his, so he estimated that he would be caught in around two minutes.
David thanked the fairy for giving him a small chance of surviving, and asked if there wasanything else he could do. The fairy said that the mana potion he has can give off an explosion, albeit only a tinier one compared to the low grade crystal. This explosion would at most only kill one or two enemies, but in total, there were still eight more bandits alive.
Even if he killed two enemies with this move, he would still have six more to go. He was running with all his might past all the trees and bushes, he didn''t even know where he was going, whether he was running back towards the Dungeon or in another direction, he had no clue. As he was running, he realised it has been one minute so far, and the enemy were closing in on to him. He had to decide on his choice, fast.
He noticed his grip on the dagger became loosed; he was alarmed when he looked towards his palm. His palm was covered in sweat. His whole body was sweating do to the intense sprinting, while his heart was beating fast, churning out even more sweat.
"Fireball!"
Health 140/140 Mana: 101.2/140
He decided to shoot a test shot just to see the effectiveness of the fireball by itself. The fireball flew towards one of the bandits abruptly. That bandit saw it coming and cut it in half with his scimitar. This shot had only made that bandit pause for a brief moment and it also didn''t feel like that it would do a lot of damage if the fireball had landed on the bandit.
If only he had another low grade crystal he could easily wipe out the enemies with ease. David was thinking of a way, but he realised that no amount of thinking would make him able to kill all the enemies perfectly, since he was still new to real life fighting, so he decided to wing it with everything he has.
David ran to a nearby tree totemporary hidefrom sight of all the enemies. He chose to stop here and risk it all. He quickly placedthe mana potion in a nearby bush. He then took out one of the socks and his tennis ball, he placed the tennis ball into the sock, making a sling and held it in his hand, before rushing out dozens of metres away from the mana potion trap he just placed.
David had stopped in placed while holding out the tennis ball sling he made. Once the bandits came into view hesuddenly let out a shout.
"You f*ckers are making me lose all my crystals, f*cking dieyou c*nts!" David¡¯s angry voice echoed through the forest, the bandits were all grouped up and were rushing towards David, but once they saw what was in his hands, they paused in panic.
"F*ck! Run!" Yelled the bandit leader as he saw the young man throw the sling towards them, It was followed by a fireball. Some of them dove out of the way to avoid it, while a few ran backwards. The Guild Leader saw the young man summon another fireball, but it wasn''t going to hit any of them, he was confused because it was going towards a nearby bush.
All the bandits took cover, but once the fireball had hit the sling, they were confused. The outcome didn''t go at all the way they had expected. They thought that there was a low grade crystal inside the sock, but it was only afake trick since the sock and the ball inside it just burst into flame. All the bandits were now much angrier then before as they all thought about how the young man had fooled them.
Just as they were about to give chase again, the other fireball hadcharged into abush.

The leadergave a grimace of pain, his face distorted into madness. He andtwo other bandits were the ones who had jumped backwards due to the sling, while the others had dived towards the area where the mana potion was hiding at.
This was David Lee''s plan; he was purposely thrown the sling towards the left of the bandit group so that they would run to the right, towards the trap. JoJo cheered as the explosion. He had given an estimate that the mana potion explosion could only kill one or two people, but David had just went beyond that and killed three! This was due toDavid¡¯s smart thinking; he had also injured the two other people who had dived towards the bush. They were charred black with burning limbs, they were critically injured and on the brink of dying!
There were now five bandits left; the two critically injured bandits near the remains of the explosion, the moderately injured bandit leader, and the two lucky lightly injuredbandits that were behind their leader.
David was going to run but it was too late, the bandit leader has already recovered and had started to charge towards his way, the other two lightly injured bandit followed in from behind. David absolutely did not want to turn this fight into melee with this bandit leader, if he was against the cannon fodders, the bandit underlings then it would be ok. But this Bandit Leader seemed to be much stronger then the underlings, so he would have many higher levelled meleeabilities due to his bandit class.
Before the bandit leader came into David¡¯s reach, Davidquietly chanted a few words.Unauthorized content usage: if you discover this narrative on Amazon, report the violation.

He felt the life drained from him as all his stamina seemed have been suckedtowards one part of his body, his right palm. David¡¯s felt all the sweat, from both outside and inside his body moving at an insane speed. He felt extremely dehydrated as he felt the lack of fluid. His body began to heat up; creating visible white smoke could be seen exuding from his frame at an insane rate. The sweat gathered in his palm, forming a tight sphere. The sphere was spinning in a rotational manner and was also bubbling intensely as it was boiling hot. The sphere did not only contain boiling hot mystical sweat, it also contained a bit of pure mana. These two substances have fused together, and all this had happened in an instant.
The bandit leader had charged out too quickly, he couldn''t stop his movement even if he wanted to. David had already discharged his ability towards the enemy. The Hyper Sweat Blast had darted with rapid speed towards the bandit leader; this move was too fast to dodge.

The bandit leader died in an instant as the boiling hot ball of mystical sweat and mana crashed into his abdomen. The leather armour did not even stop the ability as it melted instantly. The blast then spiralled into his skin and flesh, melting everything in its path. Suddenly the blast exploded inside the leaders¡¯ body, making his limb fly in every direction.
All spectators felt sick after seeing this sight, especially David who received a front seat view of thebloody, gore-filled death as the explosion ripped apart every inch of the enemies body, it was like a water balloon bursting from sudden impact.
David suddenly fellonto his knees, exhausted. His body was completely dry, it was even morevisible on his lips as they were now flaky and torn. He had no saliva to wet them. His stamina fell to an all-time low, he could barely stand up anymore which had alarmed him, but he was expecting this much.
The two bandits who followed behind their leader were dumbfounded; their expression was one of fright and terror. But as soon as they saw the drained out young man, their brief moment of cowardice had overturned and they began to walk up towards the young man with their maximum killing intent.
David was on the brink of passing out, but he forcefully held his consciousness together as he bit his lips. He did one final action that his 1% remaining stamina allowed him to do. He hurriedly took out the last potion in his bag. Goblins Insanity, andhastilygulped it down.
Then his vision turned dark.

David was not conscious anymore, but his body moved on his own. He was now acting like awounded beast on the verge of dying, so he went berserk.Boiling red steam could be seen rising from his body, it was his blood. David was now acting on pure instinct. His instinct was top notch since he had practiced tennis for many years. He would practice his tennis skill against high grade tennis ball machines, they shoot out at rapid fire but David easily raised his racket, and hit every single ball over the net.
So when one of the bandits slashed down with his scimitar, David raised his dagger above himself, and blocked the attack. The bandit was surprised, and tried to use force his way through that block. But with the increase strength of David, the bandit''s scimitar did not budge the dagger at all.
David then bent his back, and dodged a horizontal slash from behind, this was the other bandit. He then kicked off the ground and twisted his body, making the scimitar in front of him, slide off his dagger towards the side. This gavehim a huge opening. David then used his free hand and stabbed out with his fingers, tearing apart the throat of the enemy.

The Bandit behind him was stunned, he was sure that his sneak attack would hit, but the young man before him had suddenly dodged by bending his back backwards, then in a blink of an eye, the young man sent a quick attack with his arm and fingers, tearing apart his comrade¡¯s throat.
This bandit was scared shitless, his legs were shaking because of this beast like human. But he wanted to survive so he sent out another attack. But it was all for naught as David had easily dodged with his upgraded dexterity, and sent a slash across the bandit¡¯s throat with the dagger.

This feat would not be possible if David was conscious, he was now acting on his beastly instinct. If he was conscious, he would have suffered horribly from the degraded intelligence and perception, he would also not be able to fight like he was able to. His finger technique was top-notch between every one of the same level due to his tennis skills, his arm was much faster than average, and his gaming skills, his finger movement was also much faster than average, hence is why he was able to tear out one of the enemies throat with his finger.
David was like a blood hound, smelling out the enemies left alive, two remaining bandits still lives. They were the two critically injured bandits that had been crippled by the mana potion explosion from before. They saw everything happen with their two eyes, they tried to crawl away with all their might, but David had walked up towards them, killing them instantly.

He finally left out a heavy breathe, and as the potions effect wore off, he fell backwards onto the ground with a weak heartbeat. His health had deteriorated due to overexertion, his health was now at critical state, below 15 health points, and he needed to heal up fast as his health was naturally depletion over time.
JoJo crawled out from underneath his David¡¯s collar, he was speechless. He absolutely did not believe that David would be able to come out alive;he was just lying to David from before when he told him that he could. But it happened! His master had done what was thought impossible!
"Oh, no..," He saw that his master was slowly dying before him, but he couldn''t do anything.
''Should I use the teleportation skill? But it takes one hour to use, master won''t make it in time'' JoJo was panicking, he thought that maybe he could offer up these lizard armour and turn them into Dungeon Coins, then use the dungeon coin to buy a single health potion, but there wasn''t enough time.
Suddenly, JoJo heard a commotion in the distance, he was stunned.''Is there more bandits?''He thought while freaking out inwardly.
"I heard the explosion, it came from here" A clear sounding voice echoed throughout the deathly silent forest, and a group of footsteps could be heard following it.

"Ugh, where am I?" David said grudgingly as hewoke up due tosome sort of rocking movement. He felt like a piece of pounded meat as he felt pain in every inch of his body. Once he had gotten used to being awake, he observed his new surroundings and saw that he was inside a moving carriage.
''What happened?''He thought while sitting up, but to his surprise, he was completely naked. The only cover he had was a few fur blankets, he was about to panic but he soon found his bag nearby. It had everything that it should inside, he also saw his own armour pieces and weapon neatly placed beside the bag, cleaned of any blood.
David then decided to check his personal interface status by slowly concentrating his mind. He saw that he had a few level advancements in his class which was not too bad, but soon after checking through the interface, his face turned white. He had to double check in case he was hallucinating. He had finally realised that another contract slot had been used.
Sphere Contract [Level 1 Permanently]
[Three contracts available, 2/3]
............
Contract 2: Low Grade Dungeon Core [Level 1, EXP 0/100]
[Cannot be resummoned it¡¯s after destruction]
Davidwas blinking his eyes repeatedly, while also pinching his own arm.
''It''s true...'' He thought, but then he had realised something. He hurriedly checked his naked body and soon found what he was looking for. He had hoped that it wasn''t there but unfortunately the gods seems to laugh unfavourably towardshim as he seems to accumulate bad luck wherever he goes.
On his right ass cheeks was a tattoo of the Dungeon Core!It was branded into him when he was unconscious inside the Newbie Dungeon. He wanted to cry but felt no tears rolling down his eyes. He felt that it was a waste of a slot since he currently couldn''t find any positive things about becoming a Dungeon Master yet, instead all he found was a heavy responsibility due to the becoming danger that will befall him in 3-months when the dungeon re-opens.
He had many thoughts towards this revelation,''How does the Dungeon Core Level Up? Will levelling it up increase the strength of the Avatar? Can the Dungeon Core upgrade from Low Grade to Middle Grade?''
After thinking for a while, he then moved on towards his second interface, as he can switch between two different statuses, one was his personal, the other status was his Dungeon Master one.
Dungeon Master, David Lee
Low Grade Dungeon Core [JoJo]
Dungeon, Revival Period (3/90 Days)
Dungeon Coin: 100
He was surprised to see that it¡¯s already been three days and that he had been unconscious for so long. He also saw that the Dungeon core had earned 100 DC naturally, as it has the ability to get 1000 coins a month, being 33.33 coins a day.
David then last thought of the life and death fight with the outlaws, and thought that it was completely unreasonable. He wasn''t a saint, but anyone comes at him with bad intentions, he would retaliate with all his might.Though he doesn''t rememberanything that hadhappened after he had drank the Goblins Insanity potion. But he silently guessed that he had killed the remaining bandits, because he calculated the exp he gained in his head, and the excess exp he had gotten could only come from the remaining bandits.
David realised that he had been thinking for too long, and didn''t notice that the fairy was missing.
''Where did he go? Did he die?''He thought, dumbfounded as he though he now has to walk all the way back towards the dungeon instead of teleporting, he also feels a sudden sense of lost, as if he felt a little sad due to the death of the lively fairy. But he knew that the Dungeon Core Avatar can be revived after a month of cooldown, so he got over it fairly quickly.
Suddenly, the moving carriage had slowly come to a stop.He could hear loud chatters and footsteps from outside, so he became curious as to see who would act managmious towards him. It seems like the other party had nursed him back to full health. He knows that this world is full of deceit and violence, so who would heal him, a stranger? Unless it was someone he knew.
''Is it Zhao Yin or Katniss? He thought in expectation, as he hurriedly equip the lizard amour, sheathed the lizard dagger and placed the bag pack onto his back. He then slowly exited the carriage only to be dumbfounded.
''How could it be him?''David thought with a confused expression.
After exiting the carriage, he felt the hot blaring sun shine down on him. In front of him, the surrounding environment was not one of the forest that he had been in, but a wide grassy plain with many small hills. In the distance he could see a very large town with many people coming toand fro.
There were other towns all over the vast grassy plains, but albeit, they were smaller than the one the carriage was heading too. He also saw that behind him was a wide vast forest, he instantly knew that thisforest was the place that he came from.
"So you are finally awake" A sharp sounding voice echoed into his mind. The person that David was least expecting to see save him was the person before him now. Dressed in a familiar fancy red robe, a red wizard cap, and was wielding a big wooden staff was Darius Firoach, the arrogant fire mage that he had met back in the newbie dungeon.
"It was you? Why did you save me?" David said, as he couldn''t comprehend any reasons whatsoever as to why Darius would save him.
"It wasn''t him, it was me" A sweet resounding voice could be heard from behind him, he turned to see who it was. The voice came from an older looking woman, her face has some similarity to Darius, so it was obvious that she was a relative.
"Hi, I''m Lacey Firoach, Darius older sister; I see that you two are apparently acquaintances? I heard that my little brother met you inside the Dungeon" She said softly, to which David nodded in confirmation.
"Well, you were lucky that we heard your fight or else no one would be around to save you, we were delayed on our trip by the small representatives of NPS, Nobles Protection Services, because they heard rumours that a Noblewas in Vermont Town. They wanted to offer you some assistance, but they soon found out that you had supposedly died in a dungeon. After questioning my little brother for some time we were finally let free, only to find you in after a few hours on our trip. I''m very sorry for not sending you back to town as we were on a deadline and didn''t want to stop" She said quickly with a hint of regret.
David said that it was fine; in fact, he was overjoyed at this decision. He was firmly believed to be official dead on the outside, mainly towards the cunning Guild Leader and he felt lucky that he wasn''t sent back to Vermont Towm.Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
"Hummmpft, how did you kill all those bandits, I refuse to believe that you killed them on your own" Darius sharp voice interrupted David¡¯s train of thoughts.
Paaaap
"Don''t be so rude!" Lacey slapped the back of her little brothers¡¯ head.
"Ouch, what did you do that for?" Darius said with an unsatisfied voice but Lacey just ignored him.
"I''m terribly sorry for my little brothers behaviours, he¡¯s is just straightforward sometimes" Lacey said slowly towards David.
"Ah... That''s ok, anyway, those bandits weren''t that hard to kill, and they were extremely weak for their age" David said, with a hint of confusion.
"That''s because not only were these men, bandits, they even had the bandit class. Bandit class is an all-rounder class where the goal is to rob brazenly. Bandits usually have a bad reputation with the law and are always on the run so they have very little time to train and level up, keeping them stagnant and weak." Lacey explained as she saw David¡¯s confused expression.
"Anyway, we should get going since the festival is happening in a few hours" Lacey said towards David while motioning everyone to start moving as their inspection had ended.
The reason they stopped was that the town before them didn''t allow large group of carriages to arrive at once, since they feared an attack. You had to stop your carriages a fair bit outside the town, then send someone to get an official town inspector. Once the inspector had checked everything was ok, you were good to go inside the town.
It didn''t take long for the group to pass through the front gate, although the towns security did another check, it was just a light check since they trusted their official inspectors to do their jobs properly. This town was called Lupia Town; it was two days away from Vermont Town.
Lupia Town wasseven times bigger and had ten times the residence than Vermont Town. David was sitting in the coachman¡¯s seat, next to Darius and Lacey on their main carriage. He saw that the horses they used were a higher breed than what the bandits used, they were bigger, tougher and were arrogant and prideful. Many pedestrians had avoided their group, but that did not stop the lively vibe that the town emitted.
"This is the annual food festival of Lupia Town, our family has been coming here every year ever for15 years since our father fell in love with the food" Lacey explained slowly to David as they travelled. He couldn''t see one street without a food stall; they were selling many different exotic fruits and veggies.
But most stalls were selling many different kinds of meat whether they be roasted or smoked, they were shouting at towards the crowd while yelling out different prices. David was couldn''t help but listen closely towards the various chefs voices in shock because most of them were selling a small piece of meat for dozens of gold, and people were crazily buying them up as if they were going to run out.
"Every top chef in the region comes to this town just to sell their proud work of art. In the past, around 250 years ago when the world was in chaos, a renowned chef of the time had organised a food competition" Lacey said towards David, she then pointed towards a giant statue that was situated in the middle of the town, this was a statue of a tall handsome stout man who had a huge wok behind his back. He had two hands on his hips, spouting a heroic poised.
"He is called Lord Fredrick Milton, he became the first Noble in his line but his main class was that of a chef. This caused his future generations to become unorthodox Nobles due to becoming a family of chefs. They were out casted from friendly gatherings between Nobles, so they just rule this town, far away from any major cities where most Nobles reside in.
Anyway, back towards the competition. During the time of chaos, where many races were in dispute, he had boldly organised a food competition, while putting in his personal wealth as the prize pool. He then invited the Dwarves that were enemies of the human race to participate, at first they were sceptical and thought it was a trap, but after finally sending some representatives, they fell in love with the food and alcohol. It is commonly known that Fredrick Milton family secretalcohol brewis number one in the world.
The food and alcohol created by the Noble Class Chef hadscored peace between humans and dwarves. This made way for many trade deals between the two races which tip the tide in the chaotic war, so every other race followed through with a peace treaty and the ones that didn''t sign were casted out and killed by the new alliance." Lacey said proudly. David was shocked to hear anything like this; he didn''t expect that a respectable person like this could ever exist in this world. He looked towards the statue with respect before looking back towards Lacey as she wanted to say more.
"Our father had a chance encounter with one of the Milton descendants, creating close ties between our two families. This was at a time when Darius was just born. That''s why every year; our family sends someone to become a judge in the annual Milton Cooking Competition. I will be this year¡¯s judge alongside other people of other families." She said proudly, this cleared things up for David as he was wondering why this town was there destination.
After around half an hour, their group had finally found an inn to stay at. This in was a popular inn in this town, called, The Pondering Inn. It was four stories tall with excess facilities on the side, such as a private rented space to place your carriages. There was already a large reservation for the Firoach family. Many of the guards were also giving rooms but they had to buddy up as there were too many guards.
David thought that they took this whole Fire Mage family thing too far as every single person whether they are family members or guards, they all wore red. But he was confused when Lacey had giving him a key. It was a key for a private, premium grade room. He knows that the Firoach family has booked a total of four premium rooms, one for Lacey, Darius and now himself. He didn''t know who the fourth one would go to.
"It¡¯s only a room, it''s booked for only one week and besides, I know that you don''t have anywealth on yourself since I was the one who nursed and cleaned you up" Lacey said while winking towards David. He blushed shyly before giving his thanks. So after checking the room out, he couldn''t help but be dumbfounded.
This room was like a five star levelled room from Dubai as there were so many expensive decorations, golden pillars and statues can be spotted around the room. High grade carpets, bed, bathrooms. He especially loved the bathroom as it was modern, he no longer had to squat down over a ceramic pot to do his biddings, there was now a real toilet with soft wipes on the side. He couldn''t help but cry silently as he felt right at home in this place. He vowed to now only book premium grade rooms wherever he goes!
He finally exited the room after exploring the inside; he joined the others in the main dining hall where everyone was eating. He sat next to Lacey and Darius at their table, Lacey only ate a light healthy meal since she was going to need to save room for the cooking competition. Darius and Davidshared a hearty buffet, he couldn''t help but worry about the cost, this buffet had costed around 300 gold coins, so he had to savour every bite and not waste anything.
"Ah, benefactor!" A voice shouted amongst the guards, and soon every guard had stood up in respect, stopping their meal time while staring at the newcomer who had walked in.
"Teacher!" Both Lacey and Darius said in sync towards the man.
"Ahh, why do you guys always do this, you''re making me blush" The old man said, smiling wildly while motioning everyone to sit down. David finally knew who the fourth premium room holder was as the old man was coming to sit at their table.
"This is our family benefactor, and teacher, Merlin Wildart, an ex - Wizard Guild Leader of a middle sized town, a town the same sized as this one, he quit his duty tobecome our family teacher because our father saved him one time when he was in trouble" Lacey quickly introduced the old man who had sat down beside them.
"Now, now, don''t make me remember that embarrassing thing, that was a different time" The old man said, before quickly ordering some of the most expensive dish and wine, costing over 2000 gold coins. The reason being is that the food he ordered were medicinal but David had no clue what these effects were.
As they continued to eat, something happened.
''AHHHHHHHHHH, Master!" A squeaky voice echoed throughout the dining hall. David turned to see who would yell in such a place, only to be completely shocked. The voice came from the mouth of someone familiar; it was the Dungeon Core Avatar, JoJo.
The fairy flew from across the room and onto David¡¯s shoulders. He began to cry while hugging David¡¯s ears, he was happy to see that his master was well and alive. This sight made Darius snicker in disdain, but Lacey caught wind of his action, and smacked him across his head again. Apparently JoJo was being cared of by one of the animal caretakers of the Firoach Family, and he enjoyed his time playing with the other animals while also recieving some of the same care as them.
"I think that it¡¯s very interesting that you have a fairy as a companion, anyway, I''m off to see some old friend, take care of yourself young chap" Merlin said towards David, before exiting the inn, and disappearing from view. After this, thedining hallhad finally went back to where it was before, loud and lively.
"Ah, that reminds me, I have a competition to judge, David, I have something for you, and Darius, take care of David for the day" Lacey said towards her little brother, he was going to voice his complaint, but feared that his sister will smack him in front of everyone again, so he agreed.
Lacey clapped towards one of the servants, and that servant went back to get the suppose gift. The servant bought back a plain copper box and placed it before David. After that, Lacey took one last glance at Darius before rushing off in a hurry to the competition.
As soon as David opened the box with curiosity, a foul odour smell wafted out from inside the box. The fairy felt sick and David¡¯s face green. Inside the copper box was a half melted head. This was the head of the Bandit Leader he had just killed a few days ago.
Chapter 16: A Purpose in this Dungeon Filled World
All door-ways, before going forward, should be looked to; for difficult it is to know where foes may sit within a dwelling
TheH¨¢vam¨¢l
David instantly slammed the lid shut as the sight and smell of the mutilated head had made him feel quite sickly. He had to cover his mouth with both hands, just to swallow down the vomit that was about to erupt. He turned towards the snickering mage with a confused expression, he was makinghis feeling of disgustknowntowards the young mage by giving him a frown; David was looking for an explanation.
"Naturally my sister isn''t adegenerate psychopath as to gift you a head for fun.She harvested this head so that you can turn it into the local Bounty Hunter Guild" Darius explained reluctantly with a mocking smile, he was having too much fun seeing David squirm.
"Bounty Hunter Guild?" David said with a puzzled voice as it was the first time he had heard of this type of guild.
"You..." Darius was looking at David as if he was a fool. Darius sighed before he began to explain, even if David didn''t ask for one, he wanted to show off the knowledgeable side of himself.
"The Bounty Hunter Guild offers up payment for killing or capturing known criminals that are up for bounty, since it was a waste of gold to leave the head behind, my sister decided to wrap it up into a nice little gift so that you can register the kill in your name"Darius said as they were just finishing up their meals. He had gotten up to take a short break inside the bathroom.
David used this time to thank the caretaker for taking care of JoJo while he was unconscious. After Darius had finished, he told David that he wouldtake him to theBounty Hunter Guild. David was curious as to how this Guild is like compared to the one he had already been in, so naturally he agreed to go; but before they left, JoJo said one final goodbye towards the caretaker. He was waving towards her with enthusiasm until him and his master had left the building.
Alongside the way, Darius was frowning and grunting in displeasure constantly because David was constantly stopping along the way, admiring the towns wonderous atmosphere. David noticed that there were many security guards posted in almost every corner of the town. He thought that this Lupia Town, although smaller than a city, has strong security.
In contrast to Vermont Town, security was lacking, the streets were dirty, poor beggars litter the street with hardly anyone giving them spare changes. InVermont Town, he had noticed plenty of suspicious looking people, actively sneaking in and out of the town. Security was lacking, and the overall mood was down, there were also plenty of old buildings that were on the brink of crumbling down. The only place that seemed to maintain themselves was the Dungeoneering Guild Building.
David sneered at the thought of the elvish woman, she did not do a good job at maintaining the town. Instead, he felt that she was didn''t care about that town. But in Lupia Town, wasperfectly in harmony between the commoners, the businesses, the Guilds and the Milton nobles. Everything seems to connect where no one is discontent. But this was his thought after only seeing and hearing everything on the surface, he didn''t know what lurks underneath.
Thirty minutes later, the three of them had managed to find themselves in front of a tall two-story wooden building. David thought that It had a sense of style as a big western cabin used in snowy regions of his old home planet. Something a rich lumberjack would live in. He saw a big bronze title above the entrance. ''Bounty Hunter Guild''
Walking inside, he could instantly smell the scent of blood as there was in-built prison with many bloody and miserable people chained downed. These were the criminals caught alive by bounty hunters. David had thought he had seen wrongly; but there was also a small kid chained up inside one of the prisons. He frowned and wanted to immediately ask about what was going on, but Darius reluctantly explained.
"The Bounty Hunter Guild is general known as to be upfront and in the light. They''re funded by the law, so they are given a portion of the people¡¯s taxes just to pay for the bounties reward. The Guild itself does not generally make much money which is why many people respect them and are happy to pay the taxes. While the Assassins Guild which is similar to them, is more behind the scenes and in the dark, they don''t discriminate between good and evil, young and old, they make profit for killings. So, this kid might had done something fairlybad to be put on bounty since this upfront guild only collects criminals" Darius said with a non-caring voice.
David was still bothered by the thought of locking up a child, but he didn''t know the whole story of the situation and decided to handle his business first. They walked up towards the counter where a tall muscular man stood.
"How can I help you?" The tall muscular man said in a nonchalant voice.
"Just a membership card and to hand in a bounty," David said as he was knowing what to do due to Darius instructions. The bounty officer then took out a similar looking crystal to the one he had used to get his identity card in the Dungeoneering Guild.
This time, the crystal looked to be a little bit smaller, it was darker in colour. After the bounty officer placed a familiar blank card inside the slot of the crystal, David then placed his hands onto the crystal as he knew what to do. The crystal began to glow brightly for a few minutes before it went back to normal.
The officer took out the card before taking a quick glance at it before handing it towards David. The blank card had turned green, the same colour as his identity card.
David Lee / Age 18
Bounty Hunter Rank: F
Bounties Kill/Capture
F: 0??E: 0
The officer explained that he needed to rank up his Bounty Hunter Rank if he wanted to be able to hand in D rank bounties as being F rank would only let him hand in F to E rank assignments. The officer had then giving David a free bingo book that was full of pictures and drawings of criminalswith their bounty price. In total there were more than two thousand criminals inside the bingo book. The officer quickly explained that these were only F to E grade criminals that had been on the run for quite some time. The officer pointed out a wooden board at the side of the building. On it were fresh bounty requests of criminals that had recently popped up.The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
Finally, after looking through the wooden notice board and remembering all the F grade targets faces, he then gave the copper box to the officer. When the officer opened the box, the officer wasn''t too surprised to see the mutilated head and he didn''t seem too bothered by the smell and sight, he then took the head out of the box calmly.
"The head is too mutilated to do a visual confirmation, so I have to use a new tech to test his DNA" The officer said while pulling out a giant crystalline like technology. David was confused as to what was happening but waited for the officer to finish what he was doing. The officer then placed the head inside of the weird technology and pressed a button. The tech began to glow with red lights scanning the head, this process only took a few minutes before stopping.
George Melks / Age 31
Class: Bandit
Subclass: Chef
Average Attributes: F+
David was surprised to hear a robotic voicecome from the tech. The officer quickly searched through his own bingo book to find the culprit.
"Hmmm, here it is... Bandit Sub-Leader of theRavaging Cavalries, George Melk¡¯s with a Bounty of 345 gold coins" The officer said calmly as he tore out a page of the book. David saw the drawing of the person on that page and it looked exactly like the person he had killed.
Below the picture was a description. It further said that George Melk¡¯s was a family of chefs and when he was young, his parents were kill by nobles, ever since then he had to live on his own in the dark. He joined the Ravaging Cavalries when he was 10 and moved his way up to become a sub-leader years later. The gang is known for raiding villages as a cavalry unit then disappearing and in a flash.. Thegang grows a level higher in combat when they are fighting as a unit on their horses. It is recommended to fight them dismounted.
David felt lucky that the horses were scared away in that fight or else he would have been easily diced into fine mincemeat. The officer then said that the information¡¯s about the criminals in the book are gathered by victims or witnesses, and not every bounty target has this much information on them inside, some criminals can also have just a few words or less. Sometimes the information is outdated and can''t always be trusted.
The officer then asked for the Bounty Hunter card, he had then placed it in another crystalline tool to register the kill. This didn''t take too long before he received his card again.
Bounties Kill/Capture
F: 1??E: 0
"Ok, here is your payment, but because of using the low-grade DNA testing device, I had deducted 25 Gold coins. The membership card is free but upgrading it cost money. You can upgrade your card to Bounty Hunter Rank E when you have a kill/capture count of50 for F rank, or 10 for E rank. Having E rank will let you hand in D rank assignments and let you have a 5% discount from every Bounty Hunter Guild store." The officer explained slowly.
David then took the pouch of 320 gold coins and placed it in his bag, he was dumbfounded as a criminal that had almost killed him was worth around the same amount of gold that he had eaten this morning. He wanted to know what was in that buffet meal to have costed that much, at the same time he felt depressed that a person with such a low bounty had almost done him in.
He then looked around what they were selling. There were many weapons and traps, but they were all vastly overpriced. The officer smiled wryly, saying that because they basically make no money, they had to at least make a profit with their wares. David quickly placed the overpriced wares into the back of his mind because he simply had no use for them currently.
"Uh... Can I ask what that kid did to be locked up" David asked curiously, looking towards the young boy inside the cage. The boy looked to be around nine years old with long black hair. The boy noticed someone looking at him, so he turned to face who it was. David just saw the boys red eyes staring coldly at him.
"Him? He stole around five thousand gold coins worth of food from a few businesses around here. But since he cannot pay it back as he already given them to his fellow orphans to eat. The automatic process is to hold him for a few days till someone pays off his debt, if no one comes in the next seven days, he will be sent to the mines where he will be forced to work off the debt" The officer replied.
"How long is the mining sentence" David said with curiosity.
"For his kind of deed, the sentence is usually around five years" The officer said in pity, he too didn''t like the situation, but the boy stole from the rich and usually crimes against rich people is harsher.
''Five years?''He thought that he had heard wrong, but unfortunately, he was forced to let problem go. He was curious as to how this boy that looked to be around ten years old; stole the food in the first place. So David made sure to remember name of the boy, he was surprised to learn that his first name was King, and that he didn¡¯t have a last name, most orphans didn¡¯t have last names.
David was thinking about recruiting some underlings as he was considering on making a major play. He had come into realisation that having an organisation is the main source of power. The Guilds, the Nobles, the Schools, Gangs and others. They ruled this world by having a vast amount of wealth and people behind them. So, he thought that since his dungeon was closest to Vermont town, he was going to have to build up an organisation to take over the town. This way he could he protect his dungeon in more ways than one.
He would never forget how he was played a fool by the Guild Leader, so he wouldhave no problem kicking her off her seat. A girl like her,on top of a hill would not bother themselves with the lowly peasants at the bottom of the hill. This makes it so the peasants down below can remain unseen and unnoticed. The Guild Leader should had taken him seriously instead of attempting to have him killed with a risk-free play.
Now that he had survived her plot, he can round up all the surrounding peasants at the bottom of the hill tokickher off her throne. It was actually very normal for a Noble to be this domineering, so he would just be playing his part.
This was easier said than done as he had not completely gone down the road of vengeance as he was still clear headed. He was just thinking of one of the many possible paths he could take to secure his future. Many people will be after his head for just having a title, and he doesn¡¯t trust anyone or any organisation because they may have some sort of ulterior motive.
But first, he wanted to recruit King. The more he learned about this boy, the more he was sure of it. He had learned from the officer that the boy went from business to business to steal a handful of food from them, he then took it back to his orphanage where they ate all the evidence. After a few days of going unnoticed, he was finally ID by a witness. He then went on the run and hid in all various parts of this town avoiding the tight security. It wasn¡¯t until the business owners got tired of waiting that they upped his bounty, this caused a D Rank Bounty Hunter to personally act. Now the boy was sitting in this jail cell, awaiting his fate.
He gave one last glance to King, if he could get him, then he could recruit all the local orphans as they respect King. He wouldn¡¯t force anyone to join him. He was thinking of giving them jobs, this job would include gathering information and acting as spys. But he wouldalso show that they can be welcomed as his family and that he would treat them right. He knew what it was like to be an orphan, but he also knew what it was like to finally have a family take him in.
He brieflythought about the twins as they were also turned into orphans. The Nobles that killed their parents made a mistake by letting them lives. Just another example of someone at the top of the hill who looks down at all the peasants at the bottom. He saw the anger burning bright in Maggies and Malcom¡¯s eyes, they had not forgotten what had happened, and that Noble, whoever he was, would soon regret leaving behind the roots.
After leaving the guild,David finally knew what his purpose in this world was.
Chapter 17: Orphans
You have power over your mind ¨C not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength
Marcus Aurelius
David wasn''t a fool, he knew that it could take years of planning to take over Vermont Town. He would need plenty of money and resources. Not only that, he would need the strength to take out Guild Leader, whether it was his own strength or his made-up organisation, it didn''t matter as he just needed to own a powerful trump card. He didn''t know how strong she was but maybe he could find out through gathering intelligences, therefore he needed the orphans.
Daviddecided to roam around the paraded town on a whim as he wasn''t sure what he was looking for, but for now, he had decided to travel freely, merely going with the flow of the crowd to see where it takes him.
"Anyway, since you don''t like travelling with me, why don''t we go our separate ways?" David said towards Darius who was following him around.
"Nope, if I leave you my sister will get really mad since she told me to babysit you for the day, but after that, I will have nothing to do with you" He said with an annoyed expression. David just shrugged his shoulders and continued travelling.
David decided to take advantage of this living encyclopedia and began to ask questions. He first asked about the food they ate and ask why it was so expensive, he found that quite odd.
"Basically the food we ate had bonus properties; firstly, it will boost your stamina to regenerate twice as fast as usual for a few hours, also the material used were high quality, and lastly, the venue was at one of the most popular inn so the price willno doubtbe more expensive than other places that would sell the same thing" Darius said reluctantly.
''So certain food can help your stamina regeneration? I would have to find a talented chef to be part of my new organisation''David thought before asking another question. He wanted to know about the DNA device and how did it know the bandits detail just from a scan.
"The Device is linked with the Dungeon Network, so basically if you had ever used a device that scans your body, such as the Identity Card test or the Membership Card test you just took from the Bounty Hunter Guild, then your DNA has been put into the Dungeon Network, and any scan on your DNA will result in them giving your details like how you had gotten that Bandit" Darius said impatiently.
David didn''t know how to feel about this. His DNA had already been registered into the Dungeon Network, and that there was nothing he could do about it, so he decided to move on. And after walking around for a few more minutes, he suddenly felt himself sweat a little. He saw that his passive skill was still on, but he decided to keep it on as it didn''t bother him much.
He decided to stop at one of the small shops that sold festive masks. He contemplated for a moment and decided on getting one of cheaper one. He paid two gold coins for a clean, plain black toad mask to cover his face. He bought this mask to hide his identity as he didn''t know if the Elvish woman had people in this town, but it was best to be cautious. He then decided to sell his armour set too since it was a gift from that woman. Darius said that it was best to sell it at the Lupian Armoury for a higher price.
David borrowed the backroom of the mask shop to change out of his amour, he only had the ball boy uniform to change into, so he had used that. He was now back into his familiar blue shorts, white t-shirt and sneakers. His weird casual clothes have caused him to be the centre of attention, but this was just for a small moment before everyone went on their merry way.
Some girls who hadn''t seen his face yet tried to see behind his mask since his body was well toned and muscular, they guessed that his face was either too handsome or too ugly to be covered up. But David ignored them before letting Darius lead the way towards the armoury.
"I''ve seen the remains of the bandits you killed, there were enough evidence in the battlefield to know exactly how they died. We had our investigator draw up a recount of the battle by looking at the scene. Both a low-grade crystal and a mana potion to cause an explosion, but our investigator couldn''t comprehend how the leader died. His best guess was a special unknown ability... What was that ability? And why didn''t you used it on the Hobgoblin boss?" Darius suddenly asked.
"Just a trump card, what''s it to you?" David said, not wanting to give out any details of his hidden move. Darius wanted to know but stopped pestering David as he saw that he wasn''t budging, he then asked another question.
"Why didn''t you teleport out with the rest of us when the dungeon was completed" Darius said in a questionable tone, this was what he wanted to know the most as it had caused him a headache too, many people thought that he was the one to kill David.
"Uh? I had help from my contracted companion, JoJo as he helped me teleport elsewhere, away from you guys" David lied shamelessly. JoJo was stunned to hear his name, but after living a long life, he was able to catch on with his basic intelligence.
"Hummpft!" JoJo grunted arrogantly towards the young fire mage, which caused Darius to think twice about this fairy. He thought the fairy would had been stupid and useless. But now had to take the tiny fairy seriously. Whether it was the truth or lie, it was a fact that David didn''t appear with them when the dungeon was completed, and this feat alone was something he had never seen before.
''Was the fairy really the reason? But why didn''t I see it inside the Dungeon? Did the fairy also used that kill the bandit leader with the mysterious blast? Huuuumpft, still I can''t believe this clueless Noble killed all of them, it¡¯s unreal''Darius thought inwardly.
"Whatever, anyway, I could had killed that Hobgoblin on my own, I didn''t need yours or that Monks help in killing it, I was the one who did the most damage and could had killed the boss if I drank my mana potions, but you guys stole him away" Darius said shamelessly. David couldn''t help but shrug his shoulders, perhaps Darius was telling the truth but what¡¯s done is done.
Soon, they had made it towards the Armoury. This building was made of bricks and steel, is three stories tall and had plenty of customers coming in and out. He then decided to take a look at the store. The first floor had plenty of grade F to E items, he didn''t need to go to a higher floor as everything he needed was here.
"Hi, how can I help you" A young voice startled David who was just looking around, this was a female attendant with a name-tag that says Missy.
"Hello Missy, I would like to sell my usedgoods here" David young voice echoed from behind his white frog mask. He slowly gave the lizard armour setto her hands so that she can inspect it.
"Hmmm, it has a few minor damaged, but nothing that can''t be repaired... I will take this for 850 gold coins" She said after thinking for a moment. David didn''t know if this price was acceptable, so he turned towards Darius with a hint of expectancy. Darius rolled his eyes as he couldn''t believe he was going to help David.
"An armour set like this could sell at 1600 gold coins, you are basically robbing us in broad daylight!" Darius sharp voice countered hers. She couldn''t but frown at the young fire mage.
"I can at most, give you 950 gold coins. You must account for the reparation fees for the armour, and also the fact the armour doesn''t have the idealistic attributes. A bonus resistance againstF+ water attacks is almost useless to Dungeoneerers of this region, and what makes it further detrimental is that it is weak against lightning attacks. The only redeeming factor is that its defence can take on F+ physical attacks, but that can easily be made up for when you level your personal Defence Attribute from F to F+. So, inconclusion, this armour has almost no value to our types of customers, you can try and sell it somewhere else, but I doubt you would get a higher price than ours" She explained calmly.
David accepted the deal and sold the armour set. He wasn''t surprised when he heard that the armour set was extremely useless, so hethen took out the lizard dagger. This stunned the attendant as she wasn''t expecting the young man before her to accept the deal without bargaining first. She forked out the gold coins with an ecstatic expression as she just made an easy profit in just a few seconds. She then packed away the armour and took the lizard dagger from the young man¡¯s hand.
"I can take this dagger for 750 Gold Coins" She said while smiling brightly. David didn''t see anything wrong with this type of price as he just wanted to get rid of these stuffs. But before he could accept the payment, Darius reached out his hands to stop him.
"Didn''t your parents teach any basic skills? Sometimes I forget that you are a Noble" Sneered the young fire mage. This statement stunned the female attendant. She thought that the young man in theblack toad mask was the servant of the boy in the red robes. She heard the word Noble, but there was no proof of title shown, hence she stayed cautious and kept a friendly smile on as the fire mage raised the price.
David watch the two fights back and forth, he wasn''t used to such a scene as he had never bargained for anything in his life. Anything he wanted in his past life, he asked his parent to buy, no matter if it was too expensive. Sell? He didn''t need the money at all, so he just gave some of his personal belongings to his friends, they were happy to take the expensive gifts. Suddenly thinking about Earth had made him a little teary, but no one saw his sad face through theblack toad mask.
Finally, the match came to an end, and the settled price came to land on 1000 gold coins. David was stunned, this was more then what he had gained for the armour set. He turned to see the arrogant mage snort triumphally. The attendant nodded her head in defeat before handing David a paper slip. This paper slip was an official bank note of the kingdom, on the paper was a picture of a king and the numbers $1000 on top.Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.
David felt that handling in notes was better than carrying a bag full of gold coins. He accepted this payment and then moved onto his last item, the lizard bag. He had already emptied out the bag of its content beforehand and placed everything inside his pockets.
"Hmmmm, this bag is still in top quality. It has the same attributes as the armour set and is waterproof... I can give you 250 gold coins for it" She said after inspecting the bag. David¡¯s face went down, he turned towards the fire mage,
"Hey, don''t look at me, bags are generally this cheap" Darius said while shrugging his shoulders.
"Can I trade this bag for another one, I can add in gold coins if that''s needed" David said as he needed a new one. The attendant then bought them to a back room where there was plenty of used goods, waiting for reparation.
"Here are the ones you can trade for your bag" Missy said before pointy to a few dozens of bags left lying around. David searched through the pile until he found one that was fairly acceptable.
Belly-DrumToad Bag (76/80 Durability)
[Durable against F+ Physical attacks]
[F+ resistances against water related attacks]
[F+ resistances against sound related attacks]
[Water Proof]
David also found the design wasn''t too bad, the pattern looked to be like a black onion. The material felt elastic and stretchy. David only had to trade in his old bag, plus an extra 250 gold coins for this item, which he did. David then placed all his wealth inside the bag, he found that the total amount of gold he has is 1918 gold coins, including the bank note.
They soon left the Lupian Amoury after David had thanked the attendant. She found it odd to receive some thanks after trying to scam his money, but she nodded anyway before moving on to another customer.
But when they saw the streets before them, they were stunned. A huge crowd surrounded one shady man who was wearing a black hoody, the crowd was jeering loudly towards the man as he began to speak in a loud voice.
''"Hear ye Hear ye, douth lordth hath spoken, we are recruiting members so join the Sacred Serpents. Our organisation won''t force you to join, that''s because our lordth will save only those who wants to be saved! The lordth mission is to cleanse our body of the slave mark as we are all born slaves to the world! The Gods imprisoned every living soul with a flawed system, this system is what you all have now, a system to level up your classes. But what will happen when you reach the peak of your class? The gods had made it so that everyone with a system will be unable to soar the heavens!
The world is not at peace because of this, humans had become so judgemental, look at the arrogant pathetic nobles, they treat us like scums because they think they are so better. They cause needless bloodshed, but fret no more, our lordth will shackle all chains, free all humans and bring peace to the world! All you need to do is join us so that we can cut offyour ties towards the Dungeoneering System!"
David couldn''t help but stand there dumbfounded, he was watching the angry crowd chase away the cult member. He saw that the shady mans voice was even louder then the crowd, and that he was repeating his speech over and over as he ran. The security guards also joined the chase but they all couldn''t catch him. Everyone was frustrated as they saw the man escape. David heard the angry mutters of the crowd. He heard between a few people that the Sacred Serpents are all crazy, they want to start a war with the nobles and he also heard that anyone who joins this cult is never seen or heard from again.
''The Sacred Serpents Cult? The levelling system is a prison? Are they able to make their personal levelling systemdisappear? But who would want to lose that?''
He shook his head left and right, thinking about how dumb people would have to be to join that cult.
The sky was getting dark, so the trio began to walk back towards the inn. David was especially surprised about Darius attitude as the young fire mage was very helpful today. But the attitude of the fire mage, more or less didn''t change, he was still as arrogant as David had seen him inside the Newbie Dungeon.
Soon David found a worn-down building, this build stood out because it was the only building that looked to have never been maintained. It was bleak and dark, different from the bright colourfulvibe that every other building has. He soon found children¡¯s playing around inside the building, they wore old clothing¡¯s and seemed dirty.
''So, this is the Orphanage'' David thought, before walking towards the entrance. All the children¡¯s stopped play while they stood on vigilance as they saw a young man walk towards them. Darius had an unpleasant expression as he saw David walk towards the orphanage, but he kept quiet as he wanted to see what he would do.
"Hi, how are you doing" David said towards one kid. This kid was quite startled by the sudden approach and ran away. David scratched the back of his head wryly because to anyone he turned to inched backwards.
"What are you doing here" A girl said, this girl seemed to be the leader as all the kids hid behind her.
"Do you want to save King?" David¡¯s voice echoed throughout the orphanage. This caused a wave of chatter between each of the kids, all their eyes lit up due to the mention of saving King, but this had caused the girl to become a littlesceptical.
"Why would you want to do that?" The girl said coldly
"Because I want to hire him" David said while taking of his mask, he felt she wouldn''t listen to anything he says if his identity was hidden.
"I don''t plan on forcing him to work for me, if he declines, then naturally I will leave him alone, but first, he needs to be free and for that, you need money to pay his release fees" David said in a soft tone voice.
"Well do you have the money? If not, then scram?" The girl saidwhile crossing her arms.
"I may not have the money, but I can easily get the gold needed if I have all of your guys help" David said slowly.
"I doubt that, so can you please leave" She said, tapping her foot in impatience¡¯s.
"Wait, I have a precious secret recipe that I''m willing to share with you guys, I want to hire you all to help cook and sell food using this recipe on the main street tomorrow, and every gold we make will go towards the release fees for King" David said, this cleared up the reason why he was here to all the orphans here.
"Believe it or not, I am an orphan like you, and I used to live in a building like this, so I know how it is like. All you need to do is just come to the main street tomorrow at noon, I will be waiting for you guys with the food ready, but don''t forget that this is a job, and that the pay would be 1 gold coin per hour each" David said while leaving the orphans to chatter amongst themselves. He left the building after saying what he needed.
David forgot that Darius was still following him, and that he had exposed the fact that he himself was an orphan. Everything that just happened had stunned the young fire mage, but then the fire mage thought that David was just lying to win over the orphans.
"Why would you hire these little thieving brats? There are plenty of servants for hire around this town" Darius said with a confused expression.
"Well, I felt quite bad when I saw King''s imprisonment and decided to help out the orphans, isn''t hiring them to work, better than donating them money? This way, the orphans can gain the necessary skills needed to work for a steady income?" David explained slowly as they continued to walk towards the inn.
"Yeah but aren¡¯t you going to expose your secret family recipe? And also, you are paying way too much per hour to this little thieves" Darius replied.
"Its fine, it''ll just be a normal secret recipe, and as for the payment, one gold per hour? How is that too much?" David said with a baffled expression. This caused Darius to look at him funny. In Darius mind, he was screaming towards David with a frustrated voice.
"The average earnings for lower class civilians is at least a few bronze coins per hour" Darius said.
"What are bronze coins?" David accidentally blurted out.
"What are bronze coins? Are you serious?" Darius said with a dumbfounded expression, this cause David to nod with embarrassment.
"Bronze coins are typically used by lower class civilians, one hundred bronze coins equals to one silver coin, and one hundred silver coins equals to one gold coins. So now you understand how much you promised to pay these orphans?" Darius said bitterly.
"That much huh? Then why am I seeing so many gold coins being thrown around casually these days" David said with a confused expression.
"Well there is a festival going on, so many people from all over the region came to taste the food, so many of the buyers are those that have the ability to travel far and wide. As for my family, we usually dabble in escorting, we escort mostly Scions of Nobles around the region, that¡¯s how we get our wealth" Darius said slowly.
.................
"Oh right, the day is still not over, and I need your help" David smiled towards the young mage as they made it towards the Pondering Inn.
"I need you to hire some oven-carts, around ten, and please help me get all these materials, just bill me about these things tomorrow" David said while borrowing a paper and pen from one of the servants, he then wrote down a list of all materials needed for his ''secret family recipe,'' Darius frowned as he took the paper, he couldn''t say no to David as he was asked by his sister to help him for the day.
"Fine, I have them ready inside the rented space we have, but I won''t help you move all the stuff tomorrow hummpft" Darius said while running out to order his own servants to do the work. David only took did this because he didn''t know where to buy everything he needed, and also it was because the young mage attitude was bad.Darius was like a neighbourhood bully that liked to show off his tough side to impress other people. So David was happy to order him about.
David then went towards his room and began to work out. He wanted to take advantage of the fact that the stamina regeneration effect was still ongoing. He did hundreds of push-ups, sit-ups, squats inside his room. When he first started the exercise, he found that he had sweated a lot, which was to be expected due to his new passive ability.
But after a while, he found that he began to get experience points for working out. Every ten minutes or so he would get one exp in his Mystical Hyper Sweat ability. He found that this was too slow, so he decided to up the ante by getting one of the servants help him find some weighted suit. The weighted suit was around 40kg, this cause him to get two exp every ten minutes.
The stamina regen effect seemed to have worn off after three hours, so this caused David to be dissatisfied. His room had a bath and after filling it up with warm water, he quickly took of his sweat soaked clothing¡¯s and jumped in. His whole body was soaked in black slime, he found that the mystical sweat had expelled many impurities from his body. He felt cleaner inside and out, and after washing of all the sweat and impurities off his body, he felt that his muscles were more well-toned and had more depths than before.
He suddenly had a thought.
''Can I improve my body''s grade like this?''
David was excited about this thought, he never heard about people doing regular training to upgrade their attribute, as everyone seemed to only level up their class or abilities to upgrade their attributes, but never through regular training. He then thought about the Sacred Serpents Cult, from what he had heard so far, they seem to be set on the path of relying on their own body. They had no help from the levelling system as they had somehow erased it from themselves.
But without the system, how do you get superhuman strengths and power? Any human from Earth can train as much as they want, but they can never get super human strength or powers...
He slept deeply after a long thoughtful night with all types of theories swimming in his mind. He wasn''t expecting this, but he was eager to start the next day.
