 Chapter One: Freedom

    As the sun sets, the sour stench of fear and sweat fills the air. Night was fast approaching, leaving a young teenage boy dreading what to do.


    Kazuto sat in the closet petrified to even leave this place. His aunt and uncle would beat him for every little thing he did, all he wanted to do was flee. He heard his uncle yell in a bitter tone. "Kazuto! Come out here now!"


    Kazuto kept silent. He didn¡¯t know why he was being beaten or what he had to do for it to stop. All he knew was that his uncle had been fired from the military for the consumption of an illegal substance. From that time on, he would always see the hate in his uncle¡¯s eyes directed at everyone except for Kazuto''s auntie. He didn''t know what type of sick and twisted relationship they had, but he did know that she much rather enjoyed to see her nephew being whipped.


    The thought of never being loved by anyone brought him to tears each time,; his parents had died when he was only three and he had been sent to live with his aunt and uncle. The more he thought about it, the more upset he became. It was the wrong place and the wrong time as it brought up the horrible memories and he wondered why he would deserve this; the rage and sadness roared inside of him as the tears began to fall faster. He began sobbing loudly and uncontrollably, which attracted the attention of his uncle.As Kazuto''s uncle¡¯s footsteps drew closer, Kazuto was unsure of what he should have done.


    The closet door swung open and an icy chill flew down Kazuto''s back. He felt his uncle¡¯s large, hairy hands wrap around his ankle. He tried to grab onto something before he yelled at the top of his lungs as his uncle dragged him from his hiding place.


    No -one was there to help him... He was all alone, about to take a punishment he didn''t deserve. He turned around to look at his uncle¡¯s eyes but they were flat and cold which made his soul shiver. Kazuto''s uncle struck with his hand, attempting to punch Kazuto in his face. Kazuto''s eyes closed, hoping it would decrease the damage when all of a sudden he re-opened his eyes and everything had stopped. "W-What¡¯s happening.." he asked, confused.


    A small voice whispered into his ear, ."Do you think your uncle deserves a punishment for all the torture...?"

    "Y-yes..." Kazuto said as he looked down.


    "Very well then..." the voice said before it faded away with the very last word.


    Time had unfrozen.


    Kazuto''s uncle punched him in the face and was sent flying backwards. Kazuto slowly stood up and looked at his face in the dark window; blood had started to run down his face from a cut above his eye where his uncle had struck him. Then he glared at his uncle where he was laying on the ground, breathing heavily. "I HATE YOU!" he roared. At that moment he felt the rage building up inside of him. He bent his head down, his shoulders hunched with anger. "SO WHY DON¡¯T YOU JUST DIE?!" His eyes turned red and his body was engulfed in blue flames but within seconds the flames went out.


    Kazuto looked around himself before opening, his hands to see a blue flame dancing on his palm. He stood there amazed for a bit. His uncle looked astonished, absolutely lost for words, but eventually regained his senses and tried to move away, reaching for a bottle"You can''t hurt me anymore,." Kazuto said as tears fell from his eyes.


    Kazuto''s uncle gulped. "You''re a monster..."


    Kazuto looked down. "I guess I am,¡± ." he said as he bent down to set him ablaze with the flame burning in his hand


    Kazuto stood there for a bit;, had he really just killed his uncle? Was this the end of his reignrein? Was he safe? He looked around. Where are was his auntie? Had she seen what had happened.? Kazuto shook his head, realizing he needed to kill her too. He then dashed up the stairs to her bedroom; he had heard the door shut earlier. He kicked the door open and as he moved into the room he heard her say, "Kazuto...? What are you doing here...? Where¡¯s your uncle?"


    Kazuto walked towards her and whispered, "Dead."


    Kazuto''s auntie¡¯s eyes widened as tears fell from her eyes. "You..." she began, but her words trailed off She slapped Kazuto. "You''re a murderer!" sShe screamed.


    Kazuto stood there and smiled. "Well, who''s to blame for that?" hHe said, letting the fire appear in his hand.


    "I wish you died instead of your parents!" she cried, with her voice breaking.


    Kazuto walked back to the door before he threw a small fireball over his shoulder at his auntie.


    30 minutes later.


    Kazuto''s tried to use his flame again but nothing came. He was now calmed down while he was cleaning up the blood on his face the thoughts came across his mind. What.. Have i done?! D-Did they really deserve to die? What if the police find out?! How am I going to survive? All these thoughts raced through his head but he knew one thing for sure: he had to run.Kazuto took his uncle and auntie¡¯s money and changed into some new clothes before he ran into the pitch black night.

 Chapter 2: Verge of death

    The streetlights flickered on and off. Kazuto hung his head down in fear of the police coming after him, he constantly looked left and right and was very cautious of his surroundings, although the boy was only fourteen he was smart enough to know what happened to people who murdered their parents.

    Kazuto kept watching his back until he had thought that he had made it far enough for himself. He thought that he would book himself into a hotel but was unsure whether that was a smart thing to do. A fourteen-year-old walking into a hotel at the crack of dawn hardly seemed normal, he had decided that he would figure out what to do in the morning. He looked forward and right into his eyesight stood a broken down and abandoned fast food restaurant. Perfect! Thought Kazuto, a place where he could hide out until the morning. And nobody would have bothered to look for him. Kazuto slowly made his way to the run-down restaurant and wondered if there would be any left-over food. He thought it would be much wiser to conserve his money supply since he was limited with only 4,000 Yen. He would hear his stomach growl violently and thought to himself that it wouldn''t matter if he used only a little bit of the money.


    Kazuto turned around and began to walk around looking for a place to eat, as he walked he had more time to think, he thought about what had actually just happened, in Kazuto''s mind he couldn''t fully process the fact that at this moment and time his uncle and auntie were dead. Who whispered in his ears? What did his auntie mean by saying "You''re a murderer!" all these questions had now illuminated Kazuto''s mind. What power had he been given?


    Kazuto was not excited about this power but much rather filled with fear, what consequences came with this.


    Kazuto''s mind was so clouded that he didn''t even realize he was in the midst of trouble before he had realized he felt a knuckle adjoin to his cheek and he was sent backwards and fallen onto the ground. Kazuto almost instantly fell out of any train of thought he had. "OW!'''' He said with the aching pain which throbbed on his cheek.


    Standing in front of him stood three boys each looking quite angry.


    Kazuto looked at the three people in front of him. "W-What seems to be the issue...?" Kazuto said quite close to frightened. He didn''t know how to access this power that was given to him or how it worked. He had zero type of combat training and now he was in the midst of getting his ass killed. What terrible luck fell upon Kazuto.


    The first man looked around the age of fourteen. He looked at Kazuto before walking closer to him. "Your dumbass bumped into the wrong people..." as he cracked his knuckles.

    The other two boys began to laugh one of the two boys then said. "I don''t think he knows who he''s messing with."


    The boy in front of Kazuto. "We are the Reapers... And I am the leader of this part! Karma!"


    Karma then pointed back at his two friends. "And these guys...? Well, you don''t need to worry about their names, you won''t live long anyway!" Before he stepped backwards and Kazuto watched ass the Reapers moved forward.


    With them closing in Kazuto began to fear for his life once more, he was starting to wonder when the voice would come when he would be offered the power to dispose of the enemies in front of him.


    Nothing happened, he stood there as he watched the two reaper boys moved even closer and closer before they pulled the boy up and pushed him against the wall where they would rapidly punch and kick him. He stood there and continued to get hit.


    "W...hy...?" Kazuto managed to slip out of his mouth. Tears started to roll down his face. "Why is it always me?" He said beginning to sob.


    "SHUT UP!" Karma had yelled. As the two continued to punch him, and at that moment he felt time slowing down, it had felt as if it was just him all by himself.


    A voice whispered in his ears. "Kazuto... Kazuto, Kazuto...! How do you find yourself in these situations?"


    "Help me..." Kazuto said faintly.


    "As you wish. The voice whispered. And just like that time had resumed.


    A battered-up Kazuto looked up at the two in front of him, his eyes had moved from dark brown to a dark red colour.


    One of the two boys said. "Wait... wasn''t his eyes brown before?"


    The other one responded. "Who cares?" and attempted to hit Kazuto in the face.


    Kazuto smiled. "It''s punishment time." He said as he caught the boys fist and twisted his hand before the flame then engulfed his body once more."Tsk...tsk... tsk..." Kazuto would the screaming body that laid on the floor. He then looked in the direction of the other one and smiled. He walked very slowly to him and once he finally reached him a blue flame sword appeared in his hands as he impaled the other man in his chest and watched the screaming of the male.


    He then moved towards Karma. "Go and tell your ''Reapers to never come near me again." Before he clicked his fingers and the bodies turned into dust and blew into the wind.


    Karma smiled. "You took out the two but don''t get cocky! Do you honestly think you''re the only one with powers?" He said before a massive chill fell upon Kazuto. And the words fell out of Karma''s mouth. "Fear... Inducement."


    All of a sudden Kazuto had begun to feel his body stop moving, his heart was beating heavily he couldn''t even move his lips, just what type of power did Karma have? Karma smiled as two pistols appeared in his hand and he dashed forward and smiled. "Goodbye..." Karma said smiling as the two guns stood facing Kazuto''s stomach Kazuto would try and create a fire guard at the last second to lessen the damage.


    Karma slowly pulled the trigger and a massive amount of energy busted out and Kazuto''s eyes widened as he would cough out a massive amount of blood.


    His body laid they''re on the ground Karma looked at his gun smiling, "Well that was easy." He said wiping his guns.


    A shadowy figure stepped out and yelled. "Whats up with the dead body? Ugh, you''re so impulsive.'''' The mysterious woman looked at Karma quite pissed.


    "He''s dead now, so no point crying over it." He said as he walked off. "Let''s go now Misokai!"

 Chapter 3: Injured

    Misokai walked over to Kazuto then checking his pulse."It seems like your little friend is not dead." She said smiling.


    "What?" Karma turned around."But.." He said as he walked back to the body. "Grr! How could he survive my magic bullets?!" Karma said beginning to become infuriated.


    "Maybe you are just too weak to actually kill him." She said beginning to laugh.


    "SHUT UP!" Karma said as he moved forward grabbing on to Misokai"


    Misokai smiled as she pushed Karma off her."Boys are so quick tempered." She said turning around and walking off.


    Karma sighed as he began to calm down, he followed behind Misokai and headed back to reapers hideouts.


    Kazuto slowly opened his eyes. Several hours had passed and Kazuto had woken up in a room with completely white shining all around him. He looked around himself."Where..am i?"


    Kazuto then slowly walked out of his bed but still had the aching pain come from his side. he let out a little scream of pain and thats when he saw an adult rush into the room.


    Kazuto looked up at the a person r before trying to put up a guard but failing, he was too weak right now and utterly useless.


    A feminine voice said softly."Please lay down, you are still injured." She said as she tried to help Kazuto move back to her bed.


    Kazuto looked over to the woman."Where am i?" he said still looking around him unsure where he was.


    "The hospital." She said almost instantly.


    Kazuto''s eyes widened. The hospital? Kazuto instantly began to think of a way to get out. He rested himself onto his bed and asked the woman and the other person that followed her if he could have some space.


    He wondered if they had found the dead bodies of his parents, could this mean it would be the end for him? He instantly began to feel nauseous but the boy held it in.


    Surely if there was a major incident like this it would be on the news, his slowly turned to his side to see what time it was. 10:55 AM. He gulped as his hand slowly reached for the remote. once his  hand grabbed it he turned the tv  on instantly. The news was going through its weather forecast, Kazuto waited five minutes before the news had started and there was still nothing about his parents, Kazuto sighed in release and laid back."Nothing yet.." He mumbled to himself.


    Kazuto sat there and thought to himself.What had happened after he left the house? His trail of thought was soon interrupted.


    A doctor walked into the room."I see you are up... I have news about your condition. It seems as if  you have a fractured rib cage." The doctor said looking quite concerned."There was no way to contact your guardians, do you have any idea on how to reach them?"


    Kazuto began to panic, he felt the sweat falling down his face and hands, he gulped and looked at the doctors."Uhm, yeah its just that they are very busy at the moment so you may have to call them later."     The doctor then said."This is very important, could you repeat the number and your information so I will be able to contact them."


    Quite reluctantly Kazuto told his number and and wrote a fake name. As soon as the doctor left, he started to think about how to get out.


    Kazuto looked at the window in front of him."Shit.." Kazuto mumbled to himself, in his current state he was to weak to move and would be unable to move, if he stayed he would be caught.


    Kazuto decided that he couldn''t stay here, he needed to get out and fast, he looked to his right to see someone peer through the door and she had noticed that he had seen her, she began to freak and she fell forward and landed in the room.


    Kazuto looked at her with eyes of annoyance."What?" he said coldly.


    The girl slowly got up."What do you mean what?! Don''t be so rude." She said as she dusted herself off.


    Kazuto then sighed." What do you want?" He said getting a little irritated.


    "I saw them rush you in at 4AM and i was just looking to see if your dead or not." The girl said crossing her arm and looking away.


    Kazuto kind of smiled but that soon eradicated when he thought about what would happen when the police caught up with him, it hit him. He needed to get her to help him."Im Kazuto by the way." He said with a charming smile.


    The girl said."Did i ask for your name? " She said as she would lean back then she sighed and said."Im Mayumi..."


    Another girl soon walked in."Mayumi what are you doing here? The doctors looking for you." she said looking annoyed.


    "Sorry Aiko." she said as she would then walk out.


    Kazuto would say. "Wait! will you come visit me again?''''


    Mayumi shrugged."If i feel like it." she said as she shut the door.


    Kazuto thought. She''s too stubborn! he then sighed and then turned to the tv.


    Kazuto realised that the tv was still on, his eyes widened his stomach sank and his sweat became more uncontrollable. He quickly searched for the remote and turned up the volume.


    "Two bodies have been found in the east of Tokyo, the victims have been confirmed to be dead and the cause of death had them being burnt." Kazuto watched the news.


    "Neighbours have reported to the news company that there was loud screams coming from the house within the night, the police are still investigating on what was the reason of the murder of the two. It has also been reported that their son had also gone missing and he police were now  looking for him."


    Kazuto instantly tried to get out of his bed but felt the pain in his abdomen, he crutched down and tried to hold down the pain but had to sit back down. "Damn it.." He mumbled to himself.


    Kazuto sat in his room for about an hour planning out how to get out of here successfully.


    the door swung open and Kazuto looked over to the door."Oh, so you came back?" He said as he would then sigh.


    Mayumi said."Just because I was bored." She said.


    Kazuto tried to warm up to her and the two spoke for about 2 hours about random topics before they went on to the topic of how they arrived in the hospital.


    Mayumi started."My parents were in a car crash and.. well they perished. My older sister and I were the only ones that survived. They asked for us to stay for at least 3 days." She said trying to hold back the tears.


    Kazuto felt sympathy, he tried to grasp the thoughts and memories that the had of his parents but nothing came to mind all he could remember was the pain his aunt and uncle caused

    "Hey are you listening?" Mayumi said looking at Kazuto.


    "Yeah, i''m really sorry for your loss." Kazuto said with a warming smile.


    Mayumi would then say."What about yo-" Mayumi was interrupted mid-way.


    The door swung open once again it was he doctor."Dai- Oh Mayumi you are here? I need to have a private word with Daisuke."


    Mayumi exchanged looks with Kazuto.Daisuke? she thought


    Kazuto had completely forgotten about the fake name and gulped.


    Mayumi nodded and walked out.


    "I have been trying to contact your parents for the last 3 hours but there was no response." The doctor said quite concerned.


    Just then there was a knock at the door and the door was opened.


    "Hi Im here to pick up my son." The man said with a smile, the man looked as if he was in his mid-twenties.


    Kazuto looked up at the man in front of him. Son? What was going on?? He thought to himself.

 Chapter 4: Fugitive

    The hot beaming weather beamed through the window. Kazuto felt himself begin to sweat, in front of him was the doctor and besides him was the man claiming to be his father. The man had sunglasses on his face and even though the weather was hot he seemed to be wearing a black suit. On the blazer of his suit, there was a sign of a clover. His hair was quite long and it was bundled up into a ponytail, it was purple. Some strands of his hair dangled in front of his face. His skin colour was sort of like a warm beige colour.


    "When can I have my son discharged?" He asked with a firm tone.


    The doctor observed this man for a while. "How can I confirm you are his father?"


    Kazuto was pondering in his mind, should he trust this man? He decided at that moment that if he was to get out of this place he needed a strategy and for the moment it looked like this man could be his way out of here.


    "Kazuto? Kazuto?? Are you listening?!"


    "Huh...? Oh sorry, my mind must''ve drifted off." He said with a smile.


    "Is this man your father?"


    Kazuto nodded.


    "I''ll be right back with the release papers." The doctor left the room and headed for his office.


    Datenshi and Kazuto stood in silence for a few seconds until Kazuto finally broke the silence and spoke out. "No questions... Kazuto?" Datenshi smiled, he adjusted his glasses on his face.


    Kazuto kept silent and simply observed Datenshi. He watched to see that Datenshi had looked at his watch and then walked slowly over to Kazuto. "We''re leaving..."


    Kazuto looked confused. "Huh...? No the doctors coming now!"


    Datenshi ignored Kazuto''s words, he took Kazuto''s blanket off and picked him up.


    "What the fuck are you doing?! " He tried to move his body but the intense pain that made him instantly stop.


    "Would you shut up?!" Datenshi yelled out as Kazuto looked to see veins popping out of Datenshi''s head.


    Datenshi pushes the window wide open and right at this moment the door swung, Kazuto looks in front of him to see three swat officers bust through the door and following behind them was the doctor and Mayumi, Kazuto''s eyes widened.


    One swat man dashed forward attempting to stop Kazuto and Datenshi from jumping from the window but it was too late, right at that moment Datenshi leapt from the window. Kazuto let out a loud scream and shut his eyes tightly. Datenshi holds his hand out and suddenly forming into his hand was a parachute. He slowly glides himself and Kazuto to the floor and then he looked to the window to see the doctor, Mayumi and one of the SWATS heads poking out of the window.


    Kazuto and Datenshi had landed in the bushes of the car park just landing from a six-story building. Datenshi had realised that there were many officers that began to surround him. Datenshi placed Kazuto down quickly. "Damn, I was hoping to be quick with this..." Datenshi muttered to himself. His body slowly floated just above the grass. His body was completely engulfed in a black coat of armour wrapped around his body and hugged tightly against him. A black helmet wrapped around his head and with mere seconds a black axe landed on his palm.


    He closed his eyes and began to concentrate and soon a black ominous aura surrounded him, Kazuto looked at Datenshi absolutely lost for words. He shook his head and then looked to the police and then saw that they were stood there frozen, he saw their lips quiver but then he watched to see one step up and began to spam his pistol towards him.


    By this time Datenshi had finished charging up, he smiled and with a menacing smile, he moved forward at almost the blink of an eye. he moved fast coming forward and it was almost as if he was teleporting, he kept moving forward and the bullets simply moved past him and hit the tree.     Datenshi grabbed the pistol and began to twist it before he grabbed the officer by his neck and his eyes beamed bright purple. "Horror sight." He muttered as he looked directly into the officers'' eyes. He then dropped him down and the other officer''s look frightened. The officer began to scream out loud as he smashed his head on the floor three times and screamed out. "Help me! Help me! Please make it stop! I''m begging you! Make it stop!" He then got his fingers and began to scratch his eyeballs. "Stop, stop, stop!" He cried out,  blood had now begun to drain from his eyes and he started to cry.


    Datenshi smiled, he turned to the officer and bent down to him. "Don''t worry... I''ll make it stop."  Dancing on his palm was a black flame which he flicked onto the officer which caused him to scream louder and louder to the point where he was rolling on the ground and was burnt to a crisp.


    The officers looked both disgusted and petrified, half of them lost for words and completely frozen. Datenshi smiled and moved closer to the next officer. "Are you next?" He asked.


    That had snapped the officers out of their frozen state, the officers began to scream loudly before they retreated to their car as fast as they could and drove off, they started the car and was off quite quickly.


    Datenshi closed his eyes and quite quickly he was left back in his normal form. He walked over to Kazuto quickly and picked him up, the two moved toward the gate of the hospital and moved out but just as they walked past the gate they heard a loud noise. "You''ll pay for this!" One of the SWAT men said. "Remember the name Snr. Kawasaki! I will kill you!" He yelled with tears dropping from his eyes.


    Datenshi looked back with a smile. "I''d love to see you try." He walked out the gates and moved forward.


    By this time Kazuto and Datenshi had been walking for quite some time and Kazuto had been silent the whole time, his mind still couldn''t comprehend what had just happened. His uncle and aunt deserved their death, the two boys he killed deserved their death but the officer was harmless. Kazuto had begun to fear his life if it had been entrusted with this demon.


    He finally managed to choke these words out of his mouth. "Where are we going...?"


    "To the first gate, we are almost there." He said continuing his walk.


    Kazuto was generally shocked that he could be so joyful after what he had done.


    Kazuto had spoken a word, he was scared of what Datenshi could do to him.


    Right at that moment flying past Kazuto''s face and nearly hitting him was a bullet, he looked to where  It came from to see a man with a gun standing there.


    A man grinned. "I won''t miss the next shot! That 10 million bounty is mine!" He said as he would continue to fix his aim and shoot.


    Kazuto looked up. "10 million bounty?" he instantly yelled out. "RUN! We aren''t going to kill another innocent man who thinks he''s doing the right thing!''''


    Datenshi rolled his eyes and after a few seconds of debating in his head, he ran forward. "The gate is quite far away and if I let every enemy go past we could never make it! Do you understand?'''' Datenshi tried to keep his cool and tried not to be rude. "You''re far too important right now for you to die!" Datenshi yelled out.


    "What do you mean?" Kazuto asked.


    "It doesn''t matter right now we just have to go!" Datenshi yelled out and increased his speed moving forward.


    Datenshi and Kazuto had successfully outrun the man who chased them and now was very much closing into the portal. Kazuto was quite sad, he knew that there was a slight chance that he would never be able to return. He was now a fugitive. He looked down and closed his eyes.


    Datenshi was quite irritated.  Datenshi had led Kazuto and himself to an alleyway and then he closed his eyes and reopened it.  "Arise!" And at that moment a giant portal had opened. Once the two entered Datenshi placed down Kazuto and whistled.  A woman with a large chest and long green hair with yellow hair with a slight tanned beige skin colour. she smiled with her white sparkly teeth glistened. "Datenshi!" She said pouncing onto him.  "What took you so long...? I was getting lonely." She said as she would slowly stroke his hair.


    Datenshi went bright red and shook his head. "Sorry it took so long Delilah, the reincarnate was injured and it took longer than I thought... He''s going to need some healing. "


    Delilah stood up. "I hope you didn''t use too much mana..."  she said as she slowly walked over to Kazuto.  She put her hands above him and a green aura surrounded him, he quickly began to heal.


    "Woah... I feel completely better." Kazuto said jumping and stretching.


    Datenshi looked over at Delilah. "Do you have the coats?"


    Delilah nodded and brought out large coats.


    "Why do we need coats?"


    "This is the Mizu Kingdom... We have to get past the this to get to the next gate, don''t worry though this will be a good chance for training."


    "Where are we going?" Kazuto asked.


    "The Kasai kingdom now let''s go ill explain the rest on the way."


    They looked forward to seeing the giant gate that was in front of them they would finally get ready to enter.
