《Mental Note》 Prologue Waking up from with mind wrenching headache. He finds himself somewhere different. ¡°Ahhh..¡± he takes some deep breaths, murmuring to himself ¡°Slowly. Slowly. breathhh...¡± he opens his eyelids and gets welcomed by darkness. It was so dark he could barely make out his hands. Trying to get up from the ground, he feels ceramic tiles on the ground. But that sudden movement brought another wave of throbbing pain behind his eyes. With haggard breaths, he sits up and lays his back on the wall. Now his eyes were open, and he saw all kinds of eye illusions. Weird shapes we all see in the dark. It was so clear. One may not care about such things but these shapes were so crisp and clear it took him some moments to stare away and focus on his environment.Love what you''re reading? The walls near him were barely visible. But anything further than an arms reach was shrouded with a dark ¡®fog¡¯ for the lack of a better word. Standing up his heartbeat started racing, thumping faster and faster. He had to wait for a minute till his heartbeat got regulated. Such things were common occurrences with him. Only telling him that he has been laying there for quite some time. While never letting go of the wall, he feels his way around the place. Never lifting his foot but rather dragging it all the way around the room. He didn¡¯t know what he was expecting. But it was a normal square room. Trying to feel the size and find an exit of any sort. The roof was un-visible because of the dark ¡®fog¡¯. The room he was currently in was 12 by 12 foot long. It only took him a moment to realize that there was no door. Chapter 1 The silence was ringing in his ear, it is as if his ear has a string that sends data to his mind. when there is no data to receive it stays still it sends a single frequency sound. He calls it the ringing sound. It was just one more thing to add upon his current predicament. Calming himself and breathing slowly and continuously, he looked to the center of the room, maybe he can find an exit there. Unlikely but better than nothing. Walking slowly and to feel the ground he took off his sandals and set them aside. He reached the middle of the room and finds something interesting. It was as if one of the tiles extended upwards to form an elongated rectangular box. It reached the height of his hip. At the top was nothing. Just a normal lifted tile. He searched all the sides to find something. Anything. But nothing was to be found. ¡°Dammit¡± he voiced out. He extended a hand trying to reach the end of the room. Then tried to find his sandals, after all his feet were getting cold. This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author''s consent. I am not alone in here... as fast as he could he covered his mouth. His heart thumping like a damned pump. His imagination kicked into full gear. Imagining all sorts of stuff around. Paranoid by the silence and realization that he wasn¡¯t alone in here. There is someone here. Something... He tried his best to stay away from the footsteps. They were slowly reaching for him. The darkness didn¡¯t help one bit. Only fueling his imagination with wild demons and ghosts. ¡°Ka Ka Ka...¡± It spoke something. as I was facing this something from my right something else voiced out. ¡°Shushhhhh¡± I didn¡¯t even see them, they were hiding, can they can see me? They were there all of the ti- He had bumped into the wall. On cue, the things started to reveal themselves. Knowing that their prey is now cornered and has nowhere to go. First appeared a small blob of light, then another. And then spread to form something akin to an eye in shape of a twisted V with an orange tint all the way to the back of its head. From each creature one glowing white hand appeared, the glow fading to black around their skinny wrists, it was as if their hands were on white fire. ¡°Ke Ke Kee...¡± Chapter 2 The white fire shone its light upon the room. Revealing everything hidden by the darkness. This creature was of nightmares. It had long skinny arms and a body made of dark fibers. It''s head as sinister looking with a mouth extending to the end of its face. Giving it an overall look of a hunched humanoid monster. The whole situation kept him silent, nightmares coming to reality. He was so scared he wanted to let it all go, even his bladder. But there was barely enough water in his system to keep him running. As they got closer their smile widened and one of them brandished its sharp teeth. It was the one wearing my sandals. The other creature smacked the smiling creature with the back of its palm as if telling it to shut it with a glare. The smack didn¡¯t produce any sound at all. I¡¯m going to die With all hope drained and now where to run. His legs were on the brink of giving out. Accepting his inevitable death with empty eyes. At that moment a memory flashed before his very eyes, it was of Jumana, his little princess. It reminded of his ambition, his strive, his struggle, and it was his reason to live. No! Not Today! I will not leave my princess! His chest felt warm and strength returned to his limb, allowing him to stand ground and fight. And a fight to the death will be.Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere. As soon as one of the creatures reach to grab him, all light was gone and darkness swallowed everything. ... a while later ... He wakes up. he is laying on the ground with a headache at the back of his head. It is still dark. He sits up and finds he is wearing his sandals. What just happened? Did I just dream all of that it? It can¡¯t be, it was way too real to be fake. Way too fucking real. He gets up and walks to the elevated tile, still weary and careful. The dark is no longer safe. The room changed. the elevated tile was no longer there. as if the tile retracted it¡¯s self back to the ground. His heart now thumping hard. His breathing ragged. He looks around just to be safe. still, not comfortable after the encounter. He walks around the room maintaining a hand on the wall. The silence really drilling on his mind. A Door?! He encounters a door. A solid wooden white door but without a knob. Somebody broke it off and left a broken hole in it. He looks behind him. Time to leave this place He slowly opens the door and is greeted by a corridor. A wall in his front and left and a corridor extending to his right. With the occasional dead plant vase along the corridor. It seemed like it is a hospital. The moon shone on the corridor from the recurring windows. In his view, a screen popped up.
