《Tale of A Guide》 Chapter 1: The Incident Dante Greene is your average degenerate except for that he has a life that is broken beyond compare. He lived with his mom, dad, and younger brother Ezra until the incident. His brother was bullied at school but he would never tell a teacher or any person. The stress started to build up to the point of where he slowly started taking pills. He slowly eased up towards the idea of just ending it all until one day a student from his school told a teacher about what he was going through. Word went around the school that he had ratted out the bullies even though he didn¡¯t. The bullies didn¡¯t seem to like that because eye witness reports say that after the final bell rang the next day they took him into their truck and drove towards the old train tracks. Dante¡¯s family hadn¡¯t received a call until somewhere near 11PM. It was from the local police station, the cop said that they had found Ezra¡¯s book bag and the corpse of one of the bullies but it was half-way burnt. The Greene family had rushed to the scene and there was caution tape everywhere. The air smelled smokey and kinda like burnt ham and plastic forced into a jar being released at once. The police were guarding the crime scene and Dante¡¯s parents were just yelling over and over to see the Deputy Chief on what happened and where Ezra is. Some officer came out and told them to drive to the police station so that they can discuss this in private so no one can hear what he¡¯s about to say. His parents were yelling that they wouldn¡¯t go anywhere until Dante interrupted ¡°Mom, Dad, please let¡¯s just go it¡¯s gotta be somethin important.¡± His eyes looked so cloudy that at any moment he might just break down. His parents quiet down and get back in the car while the officer goes over to some other officer and is handed a rainbow patterned bag. His brother Ezra¡¯s BackPack. They¡¯re slowly riding down the road when his mother starts to break down in tears just saying ¡°Please not my baby, not my Ez.¡± Dante looked towards his father and could see a singular tear scroll down his cheek. They¡¯re in front of the station so they pull in and park right in front of the door and they wait for the officer to pull up. They can see his cruiser park right next to theirs so they all get out and walk along with the officer into the station. Soon as they walk in a group of parents run to them and start screaming ¡°WHERES MY SON- MY DAUGHTER IS SHE OK-¡± and etc. The officer tries to calm them all down when a grown man runs up to Dante¡¯s dad punches him knocking him to the ground and mounts him, yelling ¡±YOU SON OF A BITCH IF MY SON IS HURT ILL-¡± He was cut off right there by a click. Dante had grabbed the officers gun and pointed it at the man and said ¡°Mr.Stevenson get off my dad right now.¡± The room was quiet for a quick second until all the officers in the room drew their weapons yelling ¡°PUT DOWN THE GUN¡± and ¡°DON¡¯T DO THIS¡±. The officer Dante took the gun from said ¡°Dante calm down ok, LETS ALL CALM DOWN. MR.STEVENSON GET OFF OF MR.GREENE!¡± Stevenson slowly got off of Dante¡¯s dad. Dante¡¯s mother rushed over to help him up. Once Dante saw his dad was ok he threw the gun to the officer and said ¡°I¡¯m sorry, I-I-I-¡± the officer interrupted and said ¡°It¡¯s ok I get it just put your hands behind your back so I can cuff you, YOU TOO MR.STEVENSON!¡± After Dante and Stevenson were cuffed everyone was moved to a more private room that looked like it was probably held for meetings the officer introduced himself. ¡°Hello, I¡¯m Lieutenant John Selvaggio, now I have to say a case like this is something I¡¯ve never seen before. 5 missing teens, and 1 dead. This will be a hard case that we, the people of the Carmel Police Department, will try our hardest to find your children.¡± The parents started to make noise when one of them asked ¡°WAIT, wh-who¡¯s the child thats dead?!¡± The officers face went pale and he said ¡°That is¡­..the body belongs to Adam Stevenson¡­..I¡¯m sorry Bob we¡¯ll find who di-¡± ¡°NOOOOOOOOOO YOU¡¯RE LYING YOU FUCK, SAY YOUR LYING!!¡± Stevenson started to break down crying. Everyone in the room could feel the pressure, the pressure of a parent who¡¯s lost a child. The only sound that could be heard in the room was 2 parents crying together. John interrupted ¡°I¡¯m sorry and I feel for all of you. They¡¯re only kids and they¡¯re out there somewhere but I promise we¡¯ll find them.¡± He walked towards the door and said ¡°Everyone please go to the front desk and fill out missing people papers. Your kid could still be out there.¡± All of the parents got up and got ready to leave until ¡°One second, The Greene¡¯s, I need to speak to you privately.¡± While Dante thought ¡°This is too much¡­.I can¡¯t¡­.Please be safe Ezra¡­..Please¡­¡± The parents left and John closed the door. He walked to the table and indicated for them to sit down but Mrs.Greene didn¡¯t. ¡°You¡¯ll might want to sit down for this, especially you Sarah I know you have low blood pressure.¡± Mr.Greene says to his wife ¡°Sweety lets just sit maybe he has info.¡± Mrs.Greene slowly sits down. John says ¡°This might hurt to know so I must say get prepared.¡± Mr.Greene responds ¡°Come on man this is my kid do you know anything!?¡± There was a long silence until John said ¡°I warned you¡­..While investigating the crime scene we found your sons book bag. Inside was...well¡­¡± ¡°GET TO IT MAN, SPIT IT OUT. WAS IT SAYING WHERE HE WAS!?¡± yelled Mrs.Greene and John yelled back ¡°ITS WAS A FUCKING GUN¡­..¡± There was complete silence for what seemed like eternity. Mr.Greene said ¡°What do you mean a gun, Ezra¡¯s never shot a gun in his life and you know that. Who would he even shoot with it.¡± John¡¯s face went extremely pale. More pale than when the time he had to tell his wife that he wanted a divorce. ¡°He wasn¡¯t going to shoot anyone¡­..no one but himself¡­..¡± Chapter 2: Choices The inside of the car was silent. Mrs.Greene was passed out in the front seat, Mr.Greene was driving with his eyes on the road but they seemed lifeless and Dante was just remembering what happened at the police station. (FLASHBACK) ¡°Hey¡­.w-what do you mean?¡± stuttered Mrs.Greene. Her face was pale as a ghosts, she seemed like she was going to crack at any moment. Lt.Selvaggio was worried that this would probably cause a stir in the room but he had to let them know. ¡°At the crime scene we found several book bags and onewas your sons...we searched for evidence inside and we saw something bulging from the inside compartment in his bag so we decided to check......... We found a Glock G19.¡± Said Lt.Selvaggio. He continued on with ¡°Mr.Greene do you perhaps own one?¡± Mr.Greene was just staring at the floor in silence until he heard ¡°I¡­.I bought one.¡± Everyone looked towards the voice. It was Dante, he had said he bought it but everyone looked at him in disbelief. ¡°Why...WHY DID YOU BUY ONE!?¡± His father yelled at him questionably. His face was bright red and you could see his eyes were unfocused. Stolen novel; please report. Lt.Selvaggio said ¡°HEY, let¡¯s calm down. Now Dante, why¡¯d you buy a pistol. Was it for self defense or-¡± Dante quickly answered ¡°NO NO, recently at the liquor store I work at there was a robbery so the boss said I should keep his gun beneath the counter since he has a license.¡± Mr.Greene slowly calms down and sits next Mrs.Greene. (END FLASHBACK) The silence felt unavoidable. How would any parent react after learning they¡¯re child had bought a gun and the other is missing? Dante slowly looked upwards to his father expecting him to break the silence but in return his father only stared at the door mirror. He couldn¡¯t tell what he was exactly thinking but he knew that his father was worried about his brother. He shifted his gaze to his mother. She would only look ahead like there was something there. Her eyes looked like they were stabbed a few needles but that was only from all the crying. (FLASHBACK) ¡°What do you even mean officer?¡± asked Mr.Greene. Lt.Selvaggio slowly looked back up at the worried family and said, ¡°We found a gun in his book bag and we also found a note¡­.I¡¯m sorry but it shows the exact same ways a suicide letter would¡¯ve been writte-¡± ¡°I want to see it.¡± he was interrupted by Mr.Greene. ¡°Sir, I¡¯m sorry but I can¡¯t show it to you because it¡¯s st-¡± ¡°SHOW IT TO ME!¡± yelled Mr.Greene, interrupting Selvaggio again. The room was filled with an awkward silence. Either Selvaggio would let Mr.Greene see the note or he could make a families situation even harder. He chose the only one his morals would allow him to choose. Chapter 4: This doesnt seem right? He walked out of his front door so he could go buy the newest edition of ¡°The Tale of A Degenerate¡± when all of a sudden he sees a truck speeding his way. He could feel his body grow stiff like a deer in the headlights and then he blacks out thinking, "So I''m a victim of the truck too, heh." Dante regains his consciousness but he still sees only darkness so he tries to raise his hands near his face to forcibly open his eyes. ¡°Ok, I don¡¯t know where I am but who ever did this just know the police will be looking for me.¡± He said but he actually thought ¡°Yeah, they¡¯ll be looking for me. To blame me for something¡­.. if they do find me.¡± There was no response to his outcry, only silence, completely dead silence. He was going to say something again when he heard a voice or voices. ¡°I¡¯ll protect you so just hang on.¡± It sounded like thousands of people talking at the same time. He was startled so he tries to yell out to the voice asking what exactly did it just do and what is it protecting him from. But out of nowhere Dante is blinded by a bright light similar to looking at the sun for during the eclipse but 100 times stronger. The light starts to dim and that is when he hears a voice from in front of him say, ¡°Hello Mr.Greene.¡± Dante looks towards the voice and sees a beautiful women clothed in a somewhat Chiton (google it) dressing. He freezes in shock for a moment but quickly recollects himself and asks, ¡°Where am I, what are you, did I die, WHAT¡¯S GOING ON!?¡± and he slowly starts to break down until he hears her voice. ¡°Calm down, I will explain everything.¡± Dante shouts, ¡°CALM DOWN, YOU WANT ME TO CALM DOWN!? WHERE AM I?¡± the persons face scrunches up and Dante slowly realizes how he¡¯s acting and he doesn¡¯t care. It was his life to live and out of nowhere he¡¯s¡­..hit by a truck¡­..the realization starts to come to him. The lady looks into his eyes and says ¡°You get it now, you¡¯re dead.¡± The woman in front of the him turns out to be a goddess named Aziel and she rules the inbetween of death and life, Limbo. It seems that Dante was the winner of a lucky drawing to be reincarnated in a different world with his memories intact. He has many questions but the goddess interrupts before he can say anything and says, ¡±Also you will be reincarnated as a baby in a world of swords and magic.¡± He¡¯s surprised but then starts to day dream about all the possible things he could do with magic. Aziel realizes something and says ¡±Oh, I almost sent you off without telling you about this.¡± Dante looks at the goddess questioningly and she says ¡°In the world I¡¯m sending you to there is a thing called [Status] and most of the inhabitants in this world rely on it very much.
