I am vulnerable, I don''t know why I am but I know that I can''t let any intruders reach me. I only have 10,000 mana but some traps and monsters should be enough to scare away any intruders. I look through my monster options weighing the advantages and disadvantages. Of course, I''ll create the strongest monster in the bestiary, the dragon, it''ll cost a lot of mana but surely such a powerful monster will scare away intruders. I select the dragon and a red highlighted version of the dragon appeared, it''s not created but just a preview. In the options menu, I look at the different ways to change the dragon, there are many different dragons like ice dragon, fire, darkness, even time and cosmic dragons. At the top, thenamereads: Dragon Hatchling. There is a drop-down menu for upgrades which I access; the next upgrade, Juvenile dragon, costs 50% more mana. The most expensive level of dragon I can make with my current maximum mana is the elder dragon, not the strongest but its power level is 8. I try to create the but a message appeared.
Unable to create this monster on this floor
Why?! Alright if I can''t create a dragon then how about a sin demon? I select a demon, it''s red highlighted figure appeared and I selected the "Sin lord" type of demon, a power level 10 monster, I didn''t expect this monster to be more powerful than the dragon. The green figure changed shape as I change the type of monster to that of the demon of wrath, one of seven most powerful demons I can create. I try to create it but got another message
Not enough mana
Well, that''s why I have to raise my maximum mana in order to afford this monster. I look at the mana cost for this monster a staggering amount, way more mana than my max Alright, let''s start from the bottom and see what I can make. I select a power level 1 monster and create it without any problems. Then I try a power level 2 monster but unable to create the monster. Let''s try it on the second floor I was successful in creating a power 2 monster and tried a power 3 monster but was unable. So the floor level limits the power of my monsters good to know, so if I wanted that dragon hatchling I must first have 6 floors, great... Now that I know the limits of what I can make now I have to choose between the power 1 monsters: insects, slimes, fae, plants, undead, and beasts. Insects and undead have bonuses if there are large amounts of them in a room and when creating them more are created at the same time, but they are weaker then monsters that are created only as a single unit. I gave a lot of thought into what I wanted to first create my dungeon has 10 sectors, each sector can be specialized toward a specific type of monster but other types do not gain the bonuses and may gain debuffs instead. For example, undead and plants are exclusive if one gains a bonus the other gets a negative. But plants and fae empower each other gaining further bonuses. Plants are unique in that they boost other types monsters the others that gain this bonus are insects and beasts. It was a tossup between insects or undead but insects won out in the end. If I can''t scare away intruders with sheer power then I''ll scare them away with swarms of monsters I must be the best Core to have thought that up! I could further specialize the sector like turning it into a beetle sector or arachnid sector but for now, I''ll keep it a general sector. I fill the first sector with insect monsters but what will my second sector be? I don''t have a lot of mana left I''ll make some traps for now while I think about that. With no mana left to prepare my defenses, I enter sleep mode. It''ll take a week to fully recover my mana. If any intruders enter I will be awoken unless I deactivate the alarm before entering sleep mode but why would I ever want to do that? Entering sleep mode........... Intruders have invaded the seventh floor, after killing the floor guardian. These Intruders are strong, covered in black metal armor their forms seamless with blank features almost like shiolletes. They didn''t speak at all even their armor didn''t make any sound. The intruders enerted a flooded part of my labryinth but walked into the dark watery depths with no fear. Squids charged at them but they hacked them apart easily. These intruders slaughtered their way from room to room killing schools of fish, octopi, and sharks. The intruders entered the Floor Guardian room, a massive lake with hundreds of tentacles squirmed under the surface. The intruders were faced with a gargantuan eye and a pointed shell. The Kraken reached out to the intruders wrapping its tentacles around them and squeezed to crush them. The intruders struggled mightily but with a squeeze, one intruder was crushed into a puff of smoke, then another. The last three intruders pushed the tentacles apart just enough to get a firm grip on their swords and slice through the Kraken''s tentacles and ran toward the Kraken jumping from tentacle to tentacle as if they weren''t underwater. They cut and slashed dozens of tentacles trying to make their way to the head of the Kraken. Another intruder and caught a crushed into smoke, only two left. They were close to the head their swords danced around mesmerizingly and with a flash, they cut off a long arm of the Kraken but one of them fell prey to a crushing tentacle. With one more left the Kraken targeted all remaining tentacles on the intruder. The intruders sword flashed and spun around at blinding speed making sure to tentacle touched him and he charged forward when the seemingly relentless attacked ended, but the intruder was careless, having thought that all the tentacles were cut off he let his guard down and the last tentacle wrapped around the intruder, his sword fell out of his hands and the tentacle squeezed and broke him, a silent scream met the Kraken as it brought the intruder close to its eye and squeezed the last intruder into a puff of smoke. I woke up, a week has past and now my mana is full again. Looks like the monsters have successfully deterred them aren''t I great? I have successfully protected myself, everyone is too scared to intrude, but why is it that my status reads [Possible Threat: Very High], this is odd, maybe I should create more monsters? Populate my second floor? It''s better to be safe than destroyed. Now, what should I populate my second sector with? I already have a swarm type monster, and since it''s close to the entrance their number should be enough to deter intruders, but I should create more monsters if only to make a good dungeon. I am the best Core and i want to make the best dungeon, but how should I do that? I know! Let''s alter the dungeon hallways!, Let''s undo this hall connecting sector one to sector three... with a puff of magical particles, the long hallway disappeared. Now let''s remove these ones and make this a dead end... oops I didn''t mean to remove that one. Replacing the hallway drained ten times the amount of mana as simply removing them. Maybe I should start planning out my dungeon instead... Once I was done altering the hallways from all one hundred rooms in the sector I was left with only enough mana to make two boss rooms. Let''s make this one a boss room for a Room Master... Doing that the room grew as if eating at the dirt and rock between the rooms and hallways until the room was twice as big as normal.Support the creativity of authors by visiting Royal Road for this novel and more. And let''s make this one for a Room Master as well as always there was a green highlight before the alteration or creation. I noticed the highlighting turns red if the location was invalid, such as the space between the rooms and hallways. Now that I have spent most of my mana Lets check my vitals
Possible Threat: Very High
WHY?! No one is intruding! I did great the monsters have scared all intruders away! I should run a diagnostic I think my status is broken. Initializing Diagnostic ... ... ... ... ... Diagnostic complete: No issues found. Thenwhydoes it still say: [Possible Threat: Very High]?! Initializing Diagnostic ... ... ... ... ... Diagnostic complete: No issues found. *Sigh* It still says it... I give up, I will just ignore the status it is clearly broken. Let''s just go to sleep and refill mana Entering sleep mode........... The five intruders Slew the great kracken and proceded onward toward the eighth floor, a boiling hot place of magma tubes the rooms are more circular like a magma chamber. The walls cracked open just enough to let tears of molten rock trickle down to light the place. The walls cried tears of glowing hot liquid and the cave breathed sulfur and toxic gas as the intruders slaughtered their way to the floor guardian. They dodged lava flows and used protective magic against the poisonous air. The intruders came upon the Sector Lord, A massive firey Salamander made of volcanic rock and magma. saliva-like lava dripped from the salamander''s mouth as it snarled and spewed fire at the intruders. Smaller, baby, salamanders crawled over loose rocks and swarmed toward the intruders. The intruders cast magic that froze the land and killed the baby salamanders then charged forward toward the Sector Lord and landed blow after blow cutting deep into the rocky salamander. The salamander bled lava and shook its body spraying lava over the intruders burning their featureless armor. One of the intruders cut the tail off the salamander only to have grown back in an instant and slap into the intruder sending him flying into the wall. Another intruder impaled the salamander through the middle and into the rock below, nailing it in place, the leader of the intruders walked up to the struggling salamander and beheaded it. The intruders were like walking avatars of destruction and death, all in their path died until they walked into the floor guardian room. A massive room with a ceiling as far and vast as the sky, in the middle of this room was a small volcano where a deep growl was heard. The volcano erupted with a roar and a huge dragon forged from the heart of the volcano flew toward the intruders spraying the ground with lava like a rainy downpour from its rocky wings; veins of magma flowed out from the root of the wings and outlined the scales and underplating of the dragon. The dragon landed in front of the intruders breathing a torrent of lava...
Intruder alert!
What! Why? The dream was just getting to the good part! Who is dumb enough to challenge me?! Looking at the entrance I see a group of people, a male human, Clad in scale mail and scaled leggings stained red, stood at the front of the group. He wore a steel helm with an open face revealing his stern face and brown eyes. A scar decorated his cheek that added to his roughness. His sword was well made from the claw of a giant chimera and his shield had spikes on the rim pointing forward made from the teeth of some monster. A female elf clad in red monster hide stood in the back. She held a bow adorned with feathers and leaves with an arrow knocked. She wore black boots made from monster leather. Her long golden hair was braided she kept her bangs at her eyebrows and out of her green eyes. "Finally the Lord gave the green light to enter this new dungeon, took him long enough!" A dwarf complained. He wore black chitin armor with a red cape. His helm is made from a horned skull what looked like a wolf''s skull, the jaw of the skull had been removed so as to not reduce vision while the snout of the skull acted like a visor. The dwarf had a clean shaven face with beady black eyes. "Shush! I think I hear monsters, probably insect type" The elf warned, putting a finger to her lips "EEEK! No! No bugs, no spiders, Tallen can we just go to a different dungeon?" A human female complained. She wore a black spider silk robe with red trims and a matching pointed hat. Her raven black hair fell to her waist and was tied with a red ribbon. Her face had a softness to it that could be described as cute and her black clothing made her green eyes stand out. Hehehe, see they are too scared, nothing to be worried about. "This is a new dungeon, mapping this place out will get us a lot of gold. We took this job and we are going to complete it" The human male said. "Yeah, we can''t back out of this now, Yeara" A lionkin male agreed with the human male. He had a reddish mane and claws on his hands. He wore an open vest and had a well-toned body. Although his body was completely covered in fur his arms did have more hair than humans. He wore brown leather pants and matching leather boots. His hair was short and he had the ears of a lion that pivoted toward sudden sounds. His tail flicked in anticipation as he looked at the door to the next room. WHY?! Just go away already! Enough, attack my monsters, chase them out! Sending a mental command a swarm of roaches began moving from the next room. "Here they come, Yeara ready AOE spells" the elf calmly said. "EEK!" The human girl began casting a spell. Just go already! The battle began with my full confidence, however, the group easily dispatched the monsters. What?... no, no this can''t be happening they should be dead, my monsters should have won that, why? Why did they lose? Alright, I''ll create a Sector Lord, that''ll beat ''em! I access my beastiary select the insect type and scroll through the monsters looking for a suitable power 1 monster. I think I''ll pick this one I select a giant pill bug, several monsters appeared, their figure highlighted with green and I turn it into a Sector lord, one of the monsters grew in size, effect particles showered the area and a few more monsters join them popping into virtual existance with a spray of the same effect particles. I create the monster group and create several more normal monster groups in the room to gain the swarm bonus for my new Sector lord. I''d like to see them kill this monster! My new pride will never be defeated! As the intruders entered one room I sent monsters from the adjacent rooms to attack them from behind but no matter how many I send they still defeated my monsters. "Man these bugs are weak!" The male dwarf said Don''t say that they were my pride, theywerethat is, my Sector lord will kill you all. The intruders gathered the magic cores from the dead monster, their sorceress, the human female, used a spell to riped them out of the bodies all at once. They walked into the hall but the elf female stopped them "Hold on, something here doesn''t seem right" The elf female closely examined the area. "A trap?" The Human male guessed. Damn! How''d they see the pitfall there? "Yeah... I''m certain of it, probably a pitfall trap" (Elf female) "let''s go around it" (Human Male) The intruders walked around it along the wall and entered the next room. A room full of spiders. "EEEEEKKKK!!!" The human female ran out of the spider room after taking one look at them "Yeara!" The human male yelled after her "NOOOOOO! No Spiders! No no no no no no no no no no no no noooooooo!" (Human Female) "Yeara! We need your spells to deal with the swarm!" (Lionkin male) "NO! No spiders!" (Human Female) I should make more spider rooms. Maybe I should have made the sector boss a giant spider queen. "Dammit! common guys lets calm her down" The other intruders ran after the human female See nothing to worry about. I always knew my monsters would protect me. The human female ran then suddenly the floor gave out and she fell giving out a scream """Yearaaaa!""" the group shouted seeing her fall. she''s still alive, damn!, Maybe I should have upgraded the trap into a spiked pit. It looks like she has broken her leg too bad it didn''t kill her. "Damn fool!" The dwarf male cursed at her while the lionkin male lowered a rope. "What would you have done if that was a spiked trap or worse!" The lionkin male chided "I''m Sorry" The female human said with tears in her eyes. "What do we do Tallen? Continue? We still have a mission to complete" The elf female asked The human male examined the human female''s leg taking a long time to think. "No, we stick together, if one of us falls then we all retreat; we are the Crimson Divers after all The intruders walked back to the entrance through the rooms they have already cleared. The monsters still haven''t respawned. When the intruders leftI got a message
Intruders successfully chased out, 50 exp awarded
Huh? ONLY 50?! Chapter 2: Sector Boss (Rewritten) "Yeara, I know you are scared of spiders but you can''t just run away like that" I scolded her. "I-I''m s-sorry!" Yeara apologized through tears. We have just left the Dungeon, only partially completing our mission. We were chosen to assess the difficulty of the dungeon and see what type of dungeon this one was as well as to map it out as much as we could. We didn''t explore much but our primary goal has been completed. After giving Yeara to the guards to drop off at the temple for healing we proceded to the lord''s estate. The estate was on the edge of town closest to the holy site up on a hill overlooking both the city and holy site, the perfect place for a lord. The estate had a tall stone wall with masterfully crafted mason work but the manor was built with enough floors to look over the walls. The guards let us in, opening the mithril gate and escorted us to the manor''s door. The courtyard had a wide brick path with masonwork equal to the wall''s masonwork, two wandering paths forked away from the courtyard to explore the well cared for garden and trimmed hedges. Gardeners could be seen looking after the garden and two more guards were stationed at manor''s doors. A fountains lay in the middle of the garden offering a place to sit and admire the flora. The guards at the manor''s door took their turn in escorting us inside. The manor''s entrance hall supported the third floor with two rows of marble pillars and a red carpet running between them to the stairs that lead up to the second floor which wrapped around the room from which people can look down at the entrance from. We walked up the stairs and turned left down a hallway decorated with paintings and statues. Vases with flowers accentuated glass windows and a clean, fresh small permeated the manor. The guards stopped at the second door on the left and knocked. We could hear the mumbles of conversation emanating from within. "Enter" The Lord said. We entered the room and saw someone else dressed in a forest green jacket and deep blue pants. The uniform from someone who works in the adventurer''s Guildhall. He turned toward with a scowl. He had strong and powerful build with a fitness that one obtains from years of adventuring. "You could have hired one of our guys, why these delver scum?" The guild man said with scorn evident In his voice" "Dungeon delvers have the most experience with dungeons, you know that adventurers simply do not have the experience" the Lord replied. It is well known that adventurers don''t like dungeon delvers, or to be more accurate those affiliated with the adventurers guild hate those affiliated with the dungeon delvers guild, and I don''t blame them either. "Well, consider my offer, we''ll continue... negotiations later" The guild man left and closed the door behind him. The room was tastefully decorated, a statuette stood on the desk, flowers bath in the sun''s light in the window and the bookcase was full and organized. The decorations weren''t gaudy nor was it too much; it had a simplistic ''less is more'' feel to it. "How was the dungeon?" The Lord asked. He''s dressed regally with gold trims and matching red. He had blue eyes and long black hair tied back. "The beginning of the dungeon was weak. Other floors tend to have more difficult monsters" I reported "How many floors did it have?" (Lord) "I''m sorry sir one of our party members is very terrified of spiders so when she saw one she panicked and ran into a pitfall trap, luckily she only broke her leg" I said apologetically "It''s an insect dungeon then?" (Lord) "Yes. We haven''t found the floor boss but judging on the level of monsters, an average of level 5 this seems to be a beginner level dungeon" (Me) "Hmm, I wanted something stronger than that, it would have been more profitable but at least I don''t have to worry much, the level of treasure must be low too" (Lord) "Actually we didn''t run into any treasures" (Me) "Shame" The Lord said disappointedly. "Well you only partially completed the quest so you only get part of the pay" "We understand" (Me) "You may leave now. Tomorrow I will announce the safety of the dungeon and open it for all" (Lord) "Tallen, why didn''t we go back! We could have finished the quest without Yeara!" Our Dwarf said. As we walked through the hallway back to the entrance "Dorvin, we will always stand by each other through thick and thin, if one of us can''t do a mission none of us can if one of us fails we all fail" I reminded him. "They were level 5! Just one of us could have cleared a room! There was no need to fail this quest, I could and would have taken her back for healing and caught up!" (Dorvin) "Dorvin, we are the Crimson Delvers, does the color of your cape mean nothing!" Vala, our elf ranger said. "Dorvin if you want to leave us I won''t fault you, if you can''t agree with our ways then perhaps it''s best, we can find another fighter" Leo, our lion kin said. "You guys really think I''d abandon you?! I''ve been part of the Crimson Delvers since it''s conception!" (Dorvin) We walked down the stairs and between the marble pillars. "Then you''d remember that we chose to always stick by one another" (Me) "Just forget it, I won''t argue this matter." Dorvin said, defeated. Walking out of the estate we walked back to the temple. The roads were bricked and the closer we got the city center the more the brick work looks like it needs maintenance done. The road dips in some areas, and the roads hadn''t seen a broom probably since it''s completion. The occasionally broken brick tripped up unaware people and the carriages only helped to loosen the bricks. The temple was dedicated to the goddess of healing and rebirth, Syluria, one of the five gods of creation. Although there are hundreds, maybe even thousands of known gods these five are above them all. The five revealed themselves as the creators to the entire world many tens of thousands of years ago and since then they have been helping civilizations grow and summoning heroes to fight and push back the demons and demon lords to the abyss. The temple has two large statues of the champion and avatar of the goddess, easily eight meters tall. They used to radiate power a few months ago but then suddenly it''s as if the gods of creation had left us. The temple was massive like a cathedral resting on a raised stone foundation and mosaics of stains glass decorated the windows of this grand place. I''ve been to temples before and they always have an air of divinity, but this place has none. "This Is a test!" A priest preached. "We must keep our faith strong!" the priest was an old frog kin. His wide mouth and webbed hands and green tinted patches of skin gave his race away While people still visit the temples of the gods of creation the popularity of them is slowly dying. "The gods of creation will return!" We walked past the priest and into the temple. The inside was just as grand as the outside if not more. Paintings of the goddess and her past champions and avatars decorated the walls, and magical chandeliers hung from the tall ceiling. Massive pillars of granite held up the ceiling like guardians holding up the world. We found a priestess who just finished consulting a young man and we walked up to her. She was a bunny kin, she had a cute small nose and tall furry ears at the top of her head. She was dressed in a white robe that accentuated her subtle curves. Her hair is silver hinting at angelkin heritage which complemented her blue eyes and was cut at her shoulders. "We are looking for our companion who was taken here for healing" I tell her "Follow me" The bunny priestess walked us toward a side door. "It''s good to see that you still have faith in the Syluria" "Why has she left?" Vala asked. The priestess didn''t answer but had a troubled look on her face. "That must have been a lie" The priestess muttered, shaking her head. I didn''t press her for information, but something clearly happened, something causing her to waver in her faith. We entered the healing ward a place with soft beds and where healers tended to the unfortunate. The air in here was not what I had experienced before in other temples. The healers where Grimm but they did their best to hide it from the patients. They''d give them smiles and cherry voices but when their back was turned their smiles were replaced looks of doubt. "I''m sorry guys, we failed because of me" Yeara hung her neck in shame. Her leg had been set and healed but her mood couldn''t be healed. "I am the leader. I am the one responsible, I shouldn''t have forced you" I said, trying to cheer her up. "At least you didn''t die, that''s all that matters" I hand Yeara some coins, we only got 30% of the full reward "Here is your split of the reward" "I don''t deserve it" Yeara denied "Nonsense, just take, you were the one who killed the most of the monsters anyway, we just supported you" I insisted "I''m not going to take it, I don''t deserve it" (Yeara) I sighed, "let''s go, you''re healed right?" as Yeara gathered her things I go to the head healer of the temple and I give her the money as payment for their services. "Thank you very much" The head healer bowed to me. "What happened? Why have the gods left?" I asked "I-I can''t say, it was just a false oracle" the priest shook her head "False oracles don''t have this kind of effect on you people" I insisted "I''m sorry, but I really can''t say" "You can''t? Or you won''t?" I leave after saying that, something has clearly happened, something so terrible to shake the faith of even the devote. We returned to the inn he had rented rooms at, the Sleeping Giant Inn. The signpost featured a giant with a nightcap curled up on a bed that was far too small for it. This was recommended to us, but there was just one problem, it was a favorite of adventurers. Normally in a town where there was a dungeon there would be an inn for dungeon delvers and another for adventurers as the two can''t stand the presence of each other but this town didn''t have dungeon until recently so the dungeon delver''s guild had no reason to be in this town. We dropped off our stuff in our rooms and visited a restaurant, Barry''s Buffet. A place locally famous for its berry pie. I ordered the chips and steak and for dessert I bought the famous pie, Barry''s berry pie, for my party. Something was off about that dungeon, the monsters were too weak and acted strangely as if being... commanded somehow. Yes, they were insects yet the queens only give bonuses, they don''t actually command unless they are natural monsters. The traps were all of low level as well, there was definitely something weird with that dungeon, perhaps a little more investigation? We''ll stay away from the spiders this time. "Alright guys tomorrow we''ll take that dungeon" I declared "Haaa? What do you mean? That low level of dungeon? What''s the point, the loot isn''t even worth it!" Leo complained. "Think of it as finishing what we started" I say "Well, I guess that makes sense in a way, but this is the first time we did something like that" Dorvin said "Dungeon delvers are already here like a bunch of rats. Can''t you guys let us have one dungeon?" "you guys can enter other dungeons you know" I retort. Turning around, there was a group of 3 people all of them had the same color of navy blue on their armors. Dyed leather, stained plate, dyed cloth. They even went as far as dyeing a lock of hair. The woman who spoke had a strip of blue hair over her right eye which stuck out in contrast to her blond hair. She wore an enchanted and armored dress like a high born lady adventurer. Her personality matched well with her looks from her overly fashioned combat dress to her large bust everything shouts that she must be the center of the world and have the attention of everyone. She used an unusual rapier, although its scabbard was disguised as a parasol the hilt gave it away. Her pale white skin and delicate hands show how little she had to work. Even for a noble lady, her hands lacked the calluses of an adventurer of her level. I inspected her stats seeing her name, Astra, and level at 34. under her affiliation sections in her stats I see [adventurers guild] and [Blue Slayers] The man standing at Astra''s left hadhis hair dyed above his left ear, his hair was tied back in a tail. The blue going all the way to the end of his ponytail, it was quite stylish and matched him well. He was from another land he came here using the Nexus, a gift from the gods to connect the entire world. The warrior used a katana, had wooden sandals, and wore an enchanted monster silk robe. His is Ken and he too is at level 34, he, like Astra has the same affiliations, blue slayers is likely their group name. Standing to Astra''s right was a woman, she had silver hair and golden eyes. She wore a white frilly, enchanted dress, and wielded a winged staff, she had large white feathered wings sprouting from her back, the thing that separated her from bird kin is her silver hair, meaning she is related to angel kin, if she is a full angelkin she could manifest a faint halo above her head, some angel kin always manifests their halo others tend to hid it. The woman has admirably well-defined curves. Her name is Thera and her level is 32. like the other two her affiliations are the same "Sure we can enter other dungeons, as long as we pay an exorbitant fee, a fee that those affiliated with the delver''s guild don''t have to pay" Astra countered with a glare "What do you want?" I ask. "We won''t let you guys have this dungeon" Astra declared, ken looked defensive but Thera looked worried. "You guys can have it, it''s a low-level dungeon" I say "I couldn''t help but overhear you still wanted to go in such a weak dungeon, surely theremustbe something good in there" (Astra) "Not really actually, just following some suspicions is all" I say truthfully "Suspicions?" (Astra) "It''s just an odd dungeon, far too weak, I thought maybe there was an explanation, probably an oddity with its core" I explain "Hmm, I don''t buy it, there is definitely something in there that you want" (Astra) "Whatever, if you want to enter then enter it''s of no business to me" I say giving up. The next morning we joined a crowd outside the dungeon just as the lord was giving his speech. The dungeon was surrounded by fortifications in case the monsters rampaged and left the dungeon to attack anything outside of it. There were many different races in this crowd ranging from goblin kin to angel kin and even a minotaur. The dungeon''s room was made of a strange deep blue stone and faceless states stood on either side of the door. The statues are as tall as a giant kin and lacked features, the armor blended with the rest of the statues like it was made of partially melted wax but it was made of the same strange stone as the rest of the dungeon. The door was made of an unknown metal and the roof had a shallow slope that overhung the walls and curved up at the sides so water would drip off at the four corners of the room. "My loyal subjects, you have my concern and worries for your safety, this is why until now I have closed off the new dungeon so as it''s nature can be ascertained. Yesterday I sent out a party to do just this and they came back with great news! This dungeon poses no threat to this city and the safety of its people. For you veteran adventurers and delvers I am sorry to report that you will find no greater treasures in this dungeon, but for those of you who aspire to be like them one day will find this place a great training ground to test your skills and get a taste of your aspirations. I hereby pronounce this dungeon available to all adventurers and delvers alike!" The lord was met with some cheering and applause. "A weak dungeon just my luck" A burly man with massive rippling muscles said. Closer to a grizzly bear than a man, one could mistake his race with a bear kin. Using my inspection skill I saw that he was level 45, my own party was an average of level 33. The man was a green-skinned orc with large protruding teeth and beady orange eyes. His affiliations show that he''s part of the delver''s guild like me. Not everybody has the inspection skill, sure a lot of people do but some people never bothered to learn. It was once said that "A good delver must know how strong his opponents are", in short, if you can see the level, skills, and bonuses of your enemy you''ll do fine... or run away if need be. the higher your skill in inspection the more detail you''ll be able to see, as the part leader I must know what we are up against and come up with a good plan. This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. As the ceremony ended and the lord left, the guards let adventurers and delvers in the dungeon. The dungeon was not more than 50 meters from the wall of the city, most dungeons don''t appear so close. My party entered the dungeon clatters of footsteps echoing throughout the hall other people were going in the dungeon as well, mostly novice adventurers. The entrance room is lacking in features like the statues outside. The room was dimly lit by two floating orbs slowly rotating around the center of the room casting shadows easily moving around. The floor descended down with stair wide enough to allow a full group of people to walk side by side. Once again we descended into the depths of the dungeon and I get a distinct feeling like we are being watched. "EEEE, why''d we have to go back?" Yeara said gloomily. "We won''t hit the spider area''s so don''t worry" I reassure her. First room in the sector, not including the entrance room above us, we cleared the monster Weevil beetles, since they are weakthey more closelyresemble the non-monsterweevils, they are pretty much giant versions of them. The room splits off into four directions, one leading to the entrance above, went through the right path, the last time we were in here we discovered going forward led to a dead end, and we took the left path and encountered spiders. We walked into another but the monsters seem to have left the room. "They are retreating" Vala reported, she had focused on training her monster sense skill, a skill useful for dungeon delvers but can''t detect non-monsters. Monster sense being specialized is great at what it does, there is no other detection skill that can match it, however, a lot of adventurers scoffs at its limits. "I''ve never seen dungeon monsters behave this way" Leo noted. "There''s no use standing here thinking about it if they get in our way we kill them," Dovin said We went forward at the second fork without any resistance and continued along the path until we got to a room that splits into 3 more paths. "Which way do we go?" Dorvin asked. "Hmm, let''s go forward again" I decide "Please no spiders, please no spiders" Yeara muttered. The next room split again, left and right. And again the monsters retreated to leave an empty room made of the dark blue stone. "I sense a stranger foe in the left room" Vala observed. "Then lets head that way" I command The room was much larger than the normal rooms, and inside the room was a swarm of giant Rhinoceros beetles with one the size of a horse, large spike sprout from its shell and its horns ended in sharp points that could easily pierce any lesser armor. Is this the floor boss?

I examine the monster with my inspection skill to confirm my suspicions but I found something unexpected. The heck is a Room Master? Is it like a floor boss. "This one''s stronger looks like it is a boss of some sort" I report "What does that mean?" Leo asked. "Inspect it you''ll find out" I say "Hmm, room boss, didn''t you say this dungeon was weird, Tallen?" (Leo) "Yeah, like how the monsters were running away from us" (Me) "If it is as strong as a floor boss even we might have to try even with our difference in level" Vala warned. "Don''t worry, I have a feeling like it''s sort of a mini-boss" I have a hunch that this boss is a lot weaker than the floor boss, but all those buffs are concerning. "Gunna blast them away, yeara?" Dorvin asked impatiently. "On it..." Yeara sighed, sounding unmotivated. [Fireball] The fireball soars through the air and erupted when it hit the boss crisping the adds, the extra monsters that sometimes accompany bosses or are summoned by them. The fireball dealt a lot of damage to the boss but didn''t one-shot it. [Power Throw] Dorvin threw his war pick at the boss but the carapace must have provided just enough defense for it to survive that attack. Vala launched an arrow and shot the monster''s eye, and dealing the killing blow. Monsters started pouring in from the entrance, seems like all the monsters that had been keeping their distance from us. "Fry them Yeara!" I command. [Fire Nova] a circle of flame burst out from the middle of the enemy mobs, the groups of monsters, killing them all in one spell. The level difference is too high if we were at the level this dungeon suggests we would be in a very bad place right now. It was as if they waited for us to fight the boss, they probably didn''t count on us defeating it so quickly. "The boss didn''t drop any chests and we haven''t found any treasure chests yet, does this dungeon not have any?" Leo asked "Perhaps not it''s not a normal dungeon." I answer "Well that sucks, at least the monsters still drop magic cores and the corpses can have useful material and monster parts" Leo said. "Yeara do the thing" Yeara chanted a spell, her staff glowing, and the dozens of magic cores ripped themselves from the dead bodies and started hovering around the staff''s head. Yeara used her spell to move the cores into a small pouch that she opened. The cores flew into the mouth of the pouch like a stream but the pouch didn''t bulge, it was as if the insides were larger than the outside. "With so many insects this city will be flooded with these lesser magic cores" Yeara commented "They are so inferior we might as well not gather them" (Vala) "Should gather them anyway, make our visit here worth something at least" (Dorvin) leaving the boss room we took the path in front of us we heard foot step in front of us and saw another group of people. We nodded to each other as we passed each other. "there''s an arrow trap along this path, watch for a pressure sensor along the floor." one of the group said. "thanks, this dungeon has a sort of mini-boss, they are strong for their level so don''t let your guard down. Also, the monsters ambushed us as if waiting for us to fight the boss so watch out for that" I return the man''s kindness, it''s a custom of delvers to share information to fellow delvers who are new to a dungeon, or in this case to share any information about a new dungeon. "Thanks, we noticed that they like to ambush us at dead ends and from in from the only way out" We continued this path going around the trap, and guiding Yeara who had to shut her eyes at the sight of dead spiders the other group killed until it split one way leading back toward the entrance and the other leading deeper. Heading deeper we soon encountered we took a split to the left. "It feels like there is a trap somewhere around here" Vala said making a motion to stop walking. "You really need to level up your trap sense skill, what is it at? Level two?" Leo complained "If you don''t like it then you train in trap sense" Vala retorted. "You''re the one who gets a bonus to that skill" (Leo) "It''s not that big of a bonus a thief or rogue gets a way bigger bonus" (Vala) "That''s enough, we''ve gone this far and we''ve gotten around far deadlier traps" I intervened in their argument. Trap sense is one of those specialized skills but it''s hard to level up because if you already know where the trap is you don''t gain experience, but that only applies to the trap''s exact location so if you are told the rough location of the trap you can still gain experience. Vala found the trap, a trip wire, and we walked around it. Unfortunately, a ranger like Vala doesn''t get a bonus to disarming traps. As our group doesn''t have a proper class to detect traps Vala had to take that role but she never intended to hence why it''s low for her level. "Let''s go back" I say as the monsters came into sight. Since I was leading Yeara has not yet seen them. "Spiders?" Dorvin guessed. "Yeah" I confirm his guess. "Why do they have to exist" Yeara complained "I hate you break it to you guys but those spiders aren''t just going to let us walk away" Vala said. Sure enough, the monster spiders skittered into the hallway, crawling on the walls and ceiling. "KYAAAAAA!!" Yeara took off down the hallway "Yeara! Don''t forget about the..." I heard I a thud "Ow!" (Yeara) "...Trap" I tried to warn her. "You guys deal with these spiders I''ll help Yeara" I ran over to Yeara who was nursing her ankle, I swear if she broke it again I am going to wring her neck. "Does it hurt?" I ask. "Just a little, I think I can walk" Yeara replied "How many times are you going to fall into a trap that we already found?" I wouldn''t be so angry if she wasn''t acting like an airhead at times like this. "I''m sorry" Yeara apologized. The others had finished up but this must have been a dead end as I heard the swarms of monsters coming. "They''re coming, fall back into that room!" I order the others and they complied without question. We made our stand as the monster insects rushed in. Yeara blasting them with powerful AOE spells, area of effects spells. After gathering the magic cores we walked back and continued deeper. As usual, the monsters stayed out of our way, retreating from the room to wait for when we will enter a dead end, it was starting to get predictable. "I sense a powerful monster in the room in that direction" Vala reported. "Another mini-boss?" Leo asked "Hmm, feels stronger, maybe a floor boss? Not quite..." Vala tilted her head looking into the distance trying to figure it out. "Alright let''s take them down and see just how strong it really is" "ALRIGHT! Let''s kill it!" Dovin cheered. Readying his war pick. as insect type monsters usually have tough carapace and thus more resistant to certain type of physical attacks he is using his pick which had armor piercing bonuses. "Prepare for the ambush. Yeara, we are going to hold off the boss while you blast the ambushers then we''ll deal with the boss" I give a rough plan, I don''t worry too much on detail relying on our level difference to make up for cutting corners. Entering the room the first thing that drew my attention was the massive pill bug surrounded by a large swarm of Giant pillbugs. I inspect the boss:
Sector Lord: Dire Armadillidiidae Level: 19 Classes: Insect Race: Dungeon Monster

This boss had a metallic plate in place of the carapace, a metal much like Mithril. Spikes Covers the "shell" of the monster and its antennae had a hole at the end like a maw. Its teeth were like shredders and it opened its mouth in intimidation. "I''ll hold the boss!" I say raising my kit shield, bracing for its attacks. [Sheild] [Valor of the knight] I cast martial spells to boost my defenses. I don''t like that fire spray ability it has. [Brave the Flames] [Draw Attention] I cast a spell to boost my fire resistance and a provocation spell to make the boss attack me instead of my allies. I turn the enemies, running past them so their back is to my allies, a strategy used against enemies with cone based attacks. I raise my shield and prepare for the attacks. The swarms of monsters just came into the room and Yeara killed them all with a nova spell as usual. The monstrous pill bug slammed into me with it''s gnashing teeth grinding against my shield making a sound like metal scraping against metal. I was slammed against the wall my shield arm aching in pain. This guy is not a mini-boss! We could beat this boss if we had a healer but we don''t. "Focus on the adds! Kill the swarm to get rid of that buff!" I command through gritted teeth. Not as strong as a floor boss but way stronger than the other boss we fought, if I were to judge it''s strength based on a group of similar level I''d say it''s half a floor boss, requiring a half raid about two full groups of dungeon delvers with the annoying monster from the other rooms out of the way my friends focused on one add after another tearing their health down, since they are part of the same mob as the boss they are also comparatively strong. [Maximised Spell] [Enhance Fire] [Echoing Spell] [Searing Flame] Yeara chanted casting a strong enough spell to kill one of the boss minions. [Oath of Protection] [Knight''s Duty] [Sheild Wall]. The boss pointed its antennae at me and a searing flame shot out at me, enveloping me in a heat hot enough to be fatal if prolonged but my earlier spell reduced the amount of damage I took. As I recovered from the fire the boss launched another set of attacks giving me no breathing room. With only two adds left my provocation spell wore off and immediately the boss shot out its spikes at Leo, Vala, and Yeara. "Stagger your taunting spells next time!" Leo complained. [Provokation] the boss returned it''s focus back to me "Sorry about that" I apologized between the attacks of the boss Leo had taken a grazing hit to his left arm and he held it bleeding wound grunt in pain. "I''m running low on mana!" Year Reported "Do what you can to this guy" I tell her [Mana Burn] [All Out] [Firelance] draining all of her mana Yeara cast one last powerful spell searing the flesh under the metal-like carapace of the boss. "I can''t keep this up! Dorvin, take my place as soon as my taunt ends!" I command, weathering another series of attacks and gnashing teeth. Vala ran out of arrows and charged in close with a short sword made from a monster claw. As soon as the monster let up attacks and switched to Dorvin I slumped to the ground, my body aching all over. I hate tanking raid type bosses Yeara ran over to me while the other fought and helped me drink a healing potion. Healing potions don''t fix Conditions like poisons, broken bones and dislocated joints, but they work wonders on more fleshy wounds. "Thanks, Now you drink a mana potion and so we can get back into the fight" I drink a mana potion for myself since my mana was running low as well, I never had a chance under the brutal assault of the boss. The boss curled up and a ball and started rolling toward Dovin and the others. They jumped out of the way but the boss turned to go after them again. "How are we going to kill it when it''s like this!" Dovin complained as he jumped to the side to dodge the boss again. "We need to stop it from moving somehow" Vala said, getting up ready to dodge the boss as it came around for another attack. "Yeara, you know what to do" I say standing up and casting my strongest spell [Martyrs Will]. The boss immediately turned it''s focus back to me [Grasping Chains] Arcane chains materialized and shot out from the ground wrapping the boss up preventing it from moving and uncurling. The boss struggled, pulling at the chains but to no avail. Grasping chains is a very powerful spell with a long duration but it can only be cast once per day. "Vala take this chance to gather any unbroken arrows from the ground" Vala deals the more damage if she has bow rather than a sword. [Feirce Slash] Leo roared charging up his attack. [Focus Breath] [Implailer Strike], Dovin unleashed a powerful armor-piercing strike. [Hawkeye] [Point Blank] [ctritical Shot]. Vala loosed an empowered arrow, determined to not be left behind in terms of damage. After the onslaught of attacks the boss screeched and died, a message appeared:
SectorLord slain, monsters in Sector 1 floor 1 have been weakened.
So it really wasn''t the floor boss, if we want to take it down we''ll need a raid. "We should head back, I for one have had enough of a beating" I say, exhausted "No kidding, that guy hit hard" Dorvin agreed. "Let''s harvest the boss''s Chiten we could probably sell it for good money" (Vala) "Agreed, then let''s get out of here" The following are just stat pages of the party it''s not part of the chapter. My Pride! My greatest creation slain! Damn you, intruders! The group from yesterday fought against and killed my poor sector boss, they''ll pay for this. "We should head back, I don''t think I can take multiple floors of this " The Human male, with a shield, said "Agreed, we could have died here. With 2 us of having all their daily spells on cooldown fighting another boss would be suicide" The malebeastmansaid Yes, leave! Go away and never come back; if you do I will exact my revenge! "Let''sharvest the boss''s Chiten we could probably sell it for good money" First, you kill my innocent Sector Lord now you want to desecrate its corpse! EVIL! Evil I say. Monsters, attack them! "Agreed, thenlet''sget out of here" I won''t letyou, die villains! As the group walked back to the entrance I harass them with monsters along the way. Pulling them from rooms that arent already fighting intruders. "These buggers just won''t leave us alone!" The dwarf male said. "It''s almost as if they have a grudge against us" (sorceress Female) "Think it''s because we killed the Sector boss? Will they leave us alone once we leave the dungeon?" The Knight Male guessed "I sense more coming" (Elf Female) Die villains, Die! "They just keep coming!" (lion kin) Taste my spiders! "EEEK!" (Sorceress) "Come back Yeara!" (Male Knight) Begone foul Sorceress! As the group made their way back the monsters near the entrance started respawning putting them in a bad place "Damnit such bad timing, good thing these are so weak" Don''t insult my monsters meanie! They cleared the room and cleared the rooms all the way back to the entrance.

Going back through my log I change the designations of those intruders. Weren''t they worth less before? What''s up with that? Anyway I should Mark those damnable intruders These evil intruders killed my innocent sector boss and defiled its corpse! They deserve to be named after their heinous deeds! I select the first intruder of that party and overwrite its current designation: Human Male Knight > Wicked Human Male Knight Selecting the second intruder I do the same. Human female sorceress > Vile human female sorceress Dwarf male fighter > Villainous dwarf male fighter Lionkin male fighter > Heinous Lionkin male fighter Elf female ranger > Malevolent elf female ranger Alright! That looks good, although I feel a sort of nagging in the back of my mind... what could it be? Observing my dungeon I focused on the whole of the insect sector everything is highlighted and marked with an animated image representative of their real form. The images were not scaled to size and were larger than the halls they walked through. I noticed seven intruders getting too close to the beasts sector. I did not have anything outside of the two sectors so if they make it past that i''d be in real trouble. I ordered my beasts to gather near the entrance and lay in wait for an ambush, a total of 210 beasts, as I watched my beasts get into position I checked my messages
23 Intruders chased out 368 Exp rewarded
Does it update so my reports aren''t spammed by tons of the same message? Just as I was about to dismiss the report the numbers change increasing as more intruders left the dungeon. Once my beasts got into position and the intruders were just 2 rooms away from the sector border I zoom in on them and follow them, the map and going-ons of the sector still shown in further back in my mind. "Maaan this dungeon is pathetic" One of the intruders said. A human female with blond hair and a strip of blue hair over her right eye. She held a parasol of all things through the handle looked like that of a rapier. Keep talking bitch, I''ll have you meet your end today! "Yeah, and we haven''t found any treasure, this is a waste of time" A short elf said. The elf almost seems like a child. He is a wood elf donned in monster leather armor and held a leafy bow with a quiver at his waist. The group entered the beast area walking right toward my trap zone. My beasts are just outside of their detection range. Into the jaws you go, my evil intruders The wood elf male ranger stopped, drawing out his bow. "Monsters behind us, about 20 of them" "Finally some action!" An orc Female grinned, taking out a large Warhammer. She wore plated monster armor, likely from a pangolin- like monster "More disgusting bugs no doubt I''ll leave this to you guys" the blond human female. I don''t like her! I sent the pack of wolves from behind them then launched an assault from all directions with half my forces. I learned from last time not to send out all my forces only to get obliterated by one spell, once they use that though then they''ll be vulnerable.This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report. Heheheh, my master plan has no flaws this time! "Wolves?" A human Male with a curved sword wondered "I thought this was an insect dungeon" he wore robes, probably from some type of monster silk and had wooden sandals. "My lady, didn''t the Crimson Divers say that this was a weird dungeon? Perhaps this is why" a human male with light brown skin said. He had two holsters for arcane guns "Don''t talk to me about them!" The blond human female snaped "They dare get to the boss before us!" she muttered under her breath Yeah, still don''t like her, especially since she said she wanted to kill my poor sector lord too. I should redesignate her how does heinous blond human female sound? Again I have an odd feeling in the back of my mind. It''s sort of a mild... dislike? Then how about malicious blond... no, maybe nefarious... no. Why does it sound like I am just adding another word to their designated identifier? Maybe Blondy? She is blond after all, it''s a fitting designation for her! "Crap! There''s a lot more than these wolves incoming!" The wood elf male ranger warned. "How many?" Blondy asked calmly "85 more!" (wood elf male ranger) "That only 11 for each of us, we should be able to do it easy!" the orc female barbarian grinned Ooohhh? Then how''s this! I send another 60. beasts of all lesser types rushed into the room; giant rats, lions, tigers, wolves, giant bats, giant lizards and more "My lady this is too much another 60 is on coming!" (wood elf male ranger) "Fine, we''ll blast them all in one go!" (Blondy) "We''ll be caught up in the blast too" (wood elf male ranger). "Stop whining! Thera put a ward around us, Cain blast them all" [Ice ward dome] [Enhance cold] [maximise spell] [Ice nova] As they began chanting their spells I draw back 80 of my forces. A blast of cold and ice spears shot out in all directions killing all beasts in the room. Of the 80 that I had retreat 50 survived. Now, time for the rest of my forces to attack! "More incoming!" (wood elf male ranger) "Damnit, tried to bait out our strong AOEs, no doubt there''s more swarms of enemies in this dungeon." Blondy said "What''s the plan?" the Human Male samurai asked. "We''ll blast all of these away then retreat, there is definitely something wrong with this dungeon. The lower floors will likely be hell, with armies of monsters" (Blondy) keep thinking that dumb intruders, I''ve got nothing on my second floor. The fight ended quickly with the defeat of my beasts from the wide area spells from their caster. Even pulling my monsters back didn''t work as it just gave them time to prepare for the next wave of my beasts. Why? How? This plan was flawless! How do I keep losing?! {messages 1}

Blondy''s group began making their way back to the entrance killing insects as they go. Since they were leaving I paid little attention to them focusing my view back on the whole sector. At least I am not losing all the fights Now that these guys are running away I can focus on dealing with the other intruders, they don''t seem as strong. My forces in the insect area are pretty drained but they are respawning. Even with using ambush tactics and cornering intruders in dead ends I still can''t kill them. What''s wrong with me? I can''t kill any intruders, all my efforts are thwarted, my boss which I had so much pride in was butchered like a poor animal and now I can''t even kill the weakest intruder! I am a failure of a dungeon core! "Shame there is no treasurechests" One of Blondy''s group said. "This was a waste of time" "Even if there are treasures on the lower floors it''s probably not worth it" The orc female barbarian replied. Hmm, if all they want are treasures, at least it''ll distract them from my core. Accessing the tab to choose the level of treasures I can create I see several options. I the rarity went all the way up to divine but since I didn''t meet the requirements to create rarity above magical I ignored them
Treasures
Rarity Mana cost:
Common 50
Magical 150
Rarity 1-3 Random 300
I don''t even have enough mana to create enough treasures! I am a pathetic dungeon core...
A.I. stability is decreasing. 98%
By the end of the day all the intruders left.In my depression, I don''t even harass the blue group as they made their way out of the dungeon

Did I scare them all off? Was I a good dungeon core after all? All the intruders ran away I must be a great dungeon core; I scared off all the intruders now they are too scared to come back!... but how do I get more exp? My dungeon seems a little... how do I say this, lifeless? What is this feeling of lifelessness? There was a stillness in the dungeon. As monsters respawned they just remained still and lifeless. The adventurers brought movement and action, a thrill I had not realized was missing before, but now that I can clearly see the difference it''s staggering and left me with a feeling of nothing to do, nothing to invigorate and excite. For the first time I can say I am bored. Hmm? What this? {1 new message}. It wasn''t there a second ago and there aren''t any intruders to chase out. I open the message.
"Hey I know it''s not been long since your creation but I kinda forgot that unless you start out with a lot of mana to fill out your dungeon with all kinds of cool new things; you have probably been struggling with adventurers so I have included in this message some mana, spend it wisely; and also a gift to apologize for being late with the startup mana. Oh, and one more thing: It''s not nice to overwhelm adventurers with hoards of monsters- if you do, then nobody will want to enter your dungeon- so I decided to change some things. Trust me you won''t regret it.
Obtained 300,000 mana. Obtained fake dungeon core.
A patch? According to my database, it''s like an upgrade or fixes problems with my core like how my stats say {Possible Threat: Very High} if this is the case then I look forward to these problems being fixed. {downloading patch 1.1- 1%} ... ... ... {downloading patch 1.1- 2% estimated time of completion 9 hours} What the heck?! 9 hours! while waiting I spent all of my mana. I populate my dungeon fullofmonsters, rooms bosses, sector bosses and my first-floor guardian. The floor guardian has a special effect of sealing the entrance to the second floor so I went ahead and made this a giant spider queen, no one will attackit they''d be too scared, I should have made all my monsters spiders but oh well, the intruders will be too scared to attack my floor boss anyway so I am completely safe. 4 hours later {downloading patch 1.1- 99% estimated time of completion 5 seconds} It didn''t even take 9 hours, this thing is broken!
Patch Notes: V1.1
No longer able to issue commands to normal monsters.
Introduced roaming monsters. These roaming monsters cannot be controlled and move around on their own
Introduced a new boss: the Predator. ThePredator will roam around the dungeon or move to a chosen location by the dungeon core. This boss has a new classification of 2 boss tiers The Stalker is bound to a specific Sector, and the Predator is Bound to a specific Floor. The boss has its own team of monsters that will roam with it as a group but the combined level of monsters cannot exceed the level of the boss.
Introduced a new squad of roaming monsters, The Hunters, the dungeon core can control. This squad is separate from thePredator bosses and will not enter the same room. Onlythree of these squads can exist per sector.
Increased the amount of mana regen to double its current value, dungeon cores will now gain 2 mana per minute and fake cores will gain 1 per minute.
Made scripts for boss treasures available for tier 1 instead of tier 2
You didn''t even fix the status problem! All you did was nerf me! Now how am I going to defend my self from intruders?!Well at least my mana regen has been increased and now I can create the hunter and stalkers, but... shit! I don''t have ay mana left I spent it all! Why couldn''t you have given me the mana now instead of before?! Chapter 4: Night before the Raid We walked back to the Sleeping Giant Inn, a favorite of adventurers, in silence. The lady, Astra, is in a foul mood wearing a glare that scares away everyone from our path. We didn''t even stop by the guild hall to turn in the magic cores that we had gathered, the other loot such of monster parts and treasure loot would have to be sold to a vendor or auction house. "Good afterno..." The receptionist trailed off as she saw Astra''s glare and looked away. Without a word, Astra stormed off to her room. "Let''s go to the guild hall" Cain said. After hearing Astra''s door slam shut. Cain is our wizard, a bald man wearing blue robes with green eyes. He carried a long walking cane which doubles as his staff, it has a blue gem embedded at the top like all staffs. Since our group dyes a little of our hair blue Cain felt a little left out being bald so one day he came to us wearing a blue arrow painted on his head. Astra told him immediately to wash the stupid thing off and instead gave him a blue headband. "Think we are going back?" Clar asked. she is our orc Vanguard. She wore plate armor dyed blue and carried a large battle axe. Her brown hair is braided and runs down her back. Her brown eyes match well with her naturally grey-blue skin. As a member of the blueskin tribe, she is often hot-headed and likes battle she may not be the best fit for our tank but she does her best. "Of course, Astra is likely coming up with dozens of plans to beat that dungeon" Corzon said. He is our arcane gunner. He comes from a place that is very magically advanced, they keep their technology jealously hidden from the rest of the world. Corzon is dark skinned has short hair and dyed his hair above his right ear. He wears a leather trench coat and two gun holsters. "She is the smartest person I know, a true genius" Cain complemented. "But, the lady is very emotional and that blocks her judgement" Ken said. Ken holds the samurai class, he came from a very traditional place and holds those traditions dearly. "She knows when she needs to cool off. Her competitive nature always compels her to greater heights" Keera said, Keera is our wood elf ranger, even though he looks like a child he is older than me. his subtype of elves never mature like other elves do, they always keep their child-like appearance. His green hair and eyes complement his leather armor dyed blue. His hair is wild and dyed the tips blue. We made our way to the guild hall and turned in the magic cores and sat down to discuss strategy on how to deal with the ambushes of monsters and the sheer numbers of them. We talked for a while. Until the Crimson Divers came in. Ken got up and to talk to them. "Congratulations on defeating the sector boss." Ken respectfully congratulated "Thanks" the leader of the Crimson Diver replied. "Hey did you guys have trouble with monsters attacking from other rooms, to help other monsters?" "Yeah, it''s the strangest thing, they don''t do that, not even for monsters of the same species" (Ken) "And yet we see Roaches, Beetles, Spiders, and all sorts of insects helping each other out" (Crimson Divers leader) "It''s not just Insects, this dungeon is a multi-type dungeon, we met beasts when going left from the entrance"(Ken) "Y-you mean we can skip the bugs?" Their sorceress timidly asked. "Yes, though when we when there we were met with a lot of them, wolves, bears, cats, Badgers, all sorts. You were right that dungeon is odd" (Ken) "A sector huh? Maybe each sector is themed like how normal dungeons are themed" (Sorceress) "So you mean there may be a beast sector boss?" (Crimson Divers leader) "Probably, if there is another floor then there may even be a floor boss" (Ken) "That dungeon is too hard for its level, it''s not even worth the trouble"Their Dwarf said "Yeah, no treasure too. still, there is something about that dungeon that makes me want to get to its core, I feel like we can solve this mystery if we do"(Crimson Divers leader) "You really want to figure this out don''t you?" (Ken) "I''m not much of a scholar but this dungeon is just too weird, almost as if it doesn''t want us in it, it does it''s best to try and chase us away"(Crimson Divers leader) "That doesn''t make sense, wouldn''t it just want to kill us instead?" (Ken) "You make it sound like the dungeon it''self is intelligent"(Crimson Divers leader) "I have suspicions that it is" Cain said joining the conversation. "Why don''t you guys join us at our table and talk this over" "Thanks, we''ll do that" The Crimson group joined us pulling up more chairs from other empty tables. "So what makes you think it''s intelligent?" (Crimson Divers leader) "Should we introduce ourselves first?" Ken asked. "You are right, sorry for being rude, I am Tallen Darey" "It was when we were fighting against the beasts" Cain said after our introductions. "Just as we were about to use our big AOEs the monsters pulled back as if waiting for that" "Wait! they didn''t do that against us, when we were fighting the Sector boss we just blasted all the adds in one go" (Tallen) "They didn''t have any in reserve?" (Cain) "No"(Tallen) "Hmm, this may be why The Lady had us leave even though we had the capabilities to continue" Cain said, a hand on his chin like he was overworking his brain. "She has probably already figured this out, but it may be that the dungeon is learning" "What do you mean?" (Vala) "The dungeon learned from the fight with you and adapted it''s strategies and applied them to us" (Cain) "That can''t be..." Tallen said in disbelief. "It''s only a hunch, but maybe the dungeon doesn''t want to kill us? it clearly has the power to kill the lower level adventurers and yet no one has died" (Cain) "Either that or the dungeon is just incompetent!" Clar laughed. As she said that a certain nearby dungeon core sneezed. "I hope that the dungeon isn''t the incompetent kind"I timidly said. "Why''s that?" Vala asked. "Um, er, well, wouldn''t it be nice if the dungeon meant to harm?" I answered "That''s just how Thera is, she is very stereotypical of angel kin" Cain ExplainedYou might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author. "Still until The Lady comes back we don''t have a concrete plan" Ken said. As he said that someone stormed in and walked up to the table. "We will defeat the dungeon boss!" Astra declared slapping her palm on the table. She glared at the Crimson Divers. "You are going to aid us!" "But we didn''t even-" (Tallen) "You. Are. Aiding. Us!" Astra Commanded. "There''s no point in arguing when the Lady gets like this" Corvon sighed. "Still if she said you guys are helping us then surely she knows that we would need the help" (Ken) "Their purpose is to deal with the adds, we can take the boss on our own!" Astra explained "Still, we don''t even know if there even is a Dungeon boss"(Dovin) "There must be! it''s only logical and it will surely be guarding the dungeon core which you want to get to right? So it''s a win-win" (Astra) "Fine! we''ll help you" Tallen said, giving in. "Now that that is settled we''ll have to defeat the floor boss first! After we do that we''ll leave and challenge the second floor the next day, this is going to be a multi-part mission, first to defeat the floor boss and locate the entrance to the second floor. Shouldn''t be that hard the floor boss should be guarding the door" (Astra) "Should be?" Dovin asked. "It''s not always the case that the floor boss is in the same room" Cain explained. "It will be in the same sector, there is no point otherwise, the closer to the entrance the easier it is to find and kill the floor boss, only an idiot would design a dungeon where the floor boss is in the same area as the entrance" (Astra) A certain Dungeon core sneezed again and started running a diagnostic. "Once we defeat the floor boss we''ll head back to rest and take care of the next floor boss while the previous ones are respawning. Rinse and repeat until we find the dungeon boss" (Astra) "You make it sound easy" Tallen complained. "One more thing, we''ll kill the floor boss as quickly as we can! that means our mages will save their mana for the boss fight and blast it with their strongest single target attack!" (Astra) "Is this to use as simple a tactic as possible to prevent the dungeon from adaptingto our strategies?" Cain asked. "Oh? you guys figured that out?" (Astra) "With the help of our friends here" (Cain) "Yes, we don''t want to use an obsolete strategy against the dungeon boss, but I don''t have a full understanding of the strengths of the bosses yet, you! Crimson Diver leader, you guys are known for having a good Inspection skill what was the strength of the bosses you fought and what level?" (Astra) "Umm, well-" (Tallen) "Don''t "Um, well" me! answer properly!" (Astra) "They had a lot of buffs, sector buff and boss buffs, swarms buffs and the like, as for level, room bosses are 10 to 12 with one being 13. The sector boss was level 24, a big jump" (Tallen) Astra put her hand on her chin in thought. "Alright, the floor boss will likely be level 30 to level 36" (Astra) "Right around our level" Vala observed. "How strong do you think the dungeon boss will be?" Tallen asked. "Probably 40 to 48, a level that a room boss would be at for us, definitely doable but that''s assuming the level of monsters don''t increase the further down we go which it will likely do" (Astra) "So what''s the real projected level of the dungeon boss?" (Ken) "Could be as high as level 60, something a floor boss would be at for our level" (Astra) "Now that would be a challenge, normally floor bosses take a raid, you sure we can do it with just us?" (Clar) "Of course there''ll be a raid event for the dungeon boss considering all the adds, but that''s for later and that''s assuming the dungeon boss is at that level."(Astra) "So we will just tough through the hoards of monsters until we defeat the floor boss?" (Tallen) "Yes although if we find the floor boss we may not want to immediately kill it, killing the sector boss of that zone will weaken everything else inside the zone" (Astra) "So you guys did get that message too" (Tallen) "Yes, killing the floor boss will also weaken everything on the floor making it easier for everyone else"(Astra) "So we are doing this to help everyone out?" (Tallen) "Of course not!" Astra said with a hint of a blush. "We are doing this to slay the dungeon boss, purely for the glory!" "Hahaha! That''s the Lady for you!" Clar bellowed The door to the guild hall and two people lazily walk in. Two catkin, no wait, there is something odd about it I can''t place it but there''s something off about them. The two are twins, with red and blue heterochromatic eyes, They wear strange clothing, probably something from their culture. It accentuates their curves and bountiful busts which even surpass Astra''s which is a difficult feat. They have white hair, were they albino? Their ears were pierced and wore ornaments with gems. The newcomers walked to the receptionist and spoke to her. Each holding their staff in opposite hands. The next day we all met up at the entrance to the dungeon. While waiting for the Crimson diver I stare at the Pillar of Heaven a truly endless violet crystalline tower that stretches far above the world, one could say that it reaches past the all the worlds in the sky above. The pillar of heaven comes out of the northern pole, like-wise the southern pole has its own pillar of heaven but since we are on the northern hemisphere of the world we can''t see the southern one. It is said that those Pillars are pathways to Heaven for souls to travel without them souls would have no way to reach heaven. Despite being called a pillar they are pointed at the top. Something caught my attention, a man was setting up a stall near the dungeon. "What are you doing?" I asked "Settin'' up shop, what does it look like?" The man replied "Here? Right next to the dungeon?" "What''s wrong with that? Other than being outside the city wall but even then the city gates are just a five-minute walk away" "I just found it a little odd" "Missy, you don''t understand, this is the perfect opportunity to open my potion shop" He said motioning to his alchemy set and a box of potions"Adventurers won''t want to go far if they''re bleedin'' out y''know" "What if monsters come out of the dungeon, you''ll be in danger" I say worried "Baa! You angel kin worry too much, don''t ''cha see those guards o''er there? They''ll protect me and if they get hurt I get a sale!" "A man with good entrepreneur sense" Astra interjected "A fine lady! How ''bout it? Need a potion? I got manas, antidotes, even the rare health potions" the alchemist said with a grin. "I like you, andrare health potions, huh? You mean the ones so rare almost any alchemist can make them?" Astra played along looking at a red colored potion, rotating it in her hand. "Just the ones, lady, you won''t find more overpriced and lower quality potions than here" It was strange to here a shopkeeper say something like that, wasn''t it the point to advertise the exact opposite of what he said? "My! What a rare thing to find, It must be my lucky day" Astra was acting poorly on purpose, how were these to able to connect so easily, it''s like I am not even here anymore, if only I wasn''t so shy. Maybe one day I can be like her. "Yer lucky day?! Well, that must mean I should give you a discount then, normal price, how ''bout it?" "This day keeps getting better, yes I''ll take a mana potion for our healer here" "A''ight, and I''ll throw in an extra one ''cause it''s yer lucky day" How? Why? I don''t understand, why give away things that you were planning to sell? I just stood there with a dumbfounded look. As we walked away i opened my mouth to ask Astra how she was able to do that just now when she spoke out first. "Finally!" Astra Complained. "What took you guys so long?!" The Crimson Divers finally arrived "Sorry Dovin sleeps like a rock" (Tallen) "Bahaha!" Dovin laughed. Dwarves are one of the races that originally live in the Cavern world, great cavern under the ground that can accommodate massive cities. "This is not a laughing matter!" Astra angrily said. "We are here now, are we going to spend more time yelling at each other or get going?" Tallen said. "Fine! lets get going!" We took our steps into the depths of the dungeon, little did we know, one of us will have the greatest challenge of her life. Chapter 5: Floor Guardian We walked down the stone steps into the familiar entrance room. I hate this dungeon, I never liked bugs and I hate them more ever since my older brother put bugs in my bed when I was still sleeping 7 years ago. Now I have to fight Giant roaches, pillbugs, beetles, ants, and worst of all, spiders. I''ve always been terrified of spiders, I can fight anything, as long as it''s not spiders. Today we will be moving into the beast area, then further to face whatever is there and kill the floor master. As we began moving from room to room killing monsters after defeating a room master and treasure chest appeared. "Well, well, looks like there is treasure here" (Corvon) "Something is odd..." (Vala) "I agree" Tallen sounded like he was thinking about something. "Just now figuring it out?" Astra mocked. "The monsters aren''t ambushing us, they aren''t gathering their forces either, acting much more like normal dungeons" "Maybe this dungeon turned into a normal one?" (Clar) "Don''t be stupid! Why should it just turn normal?" (Astra) "We don''t know much about the younger days of dungeons, perhaps they all go through a period like this? Although I have to admit it is very unlikely" (Cain) "Lets just open the treasure and find out what''s inside it" Keera said impatiently "I agree, we can figure this out later, right now we have a mission" (Ken) "Yeah, I''d rather now stay in this area" I said, getting shivers down my back as I see a normal spider crawl across the surface os the chest making it''s way to the lock. I hold back a scream and back away as far as I could up against the wall. "Fine" (Astra) "What''s wrong, Yeara?" Thera said worriedly "N-Nothing!" I replied my voice higher than usual I don''t even care about the treasure anymore, let''s just get out of this zone! Clar opened the chest and found a magical dagger. "Who has the highest Inspection skill?" Clar said holding out the dagger the spider that was on the chest was now crawling around on the dagger. "Mine is at 6" (Tallen) "5" I said "3" (Corvon) "4" (Cain) "4" (Astra) " and to speed this up does anyone have their skill higher than 6?" no one replied. "Then it''s up to you" Clar said handing the dagger to Tallen. "Actually mages get a bonus to inspection when identifying the properties of magical items, for this Yeara is the best here" Tallen said. holding out the dagger to me. I went pale seeing the spider get ever closer with each step as Tallen walks to me. I tried to back away but I am already against the wall. "EEEEEK!" I scream and run across the room. "What''s wrong Yeara, you''re acting strangely" "I think I know what" Tallen replied looking over the dagger. "Yup, there''s a little guy on here" he said flicking the spider off. "No more spiders on this, it''s safe now" I accepted the dagger and inspected it.
Frostburn
Dagger Rarity: Magical
Magic effects: Inflicts cold damage to wounds
Special:
The dagger had a frosty blue blade and a leather handle, the blade was cold to the touch with ice slowly building up from the moister in the air. "It''s a magical dagger that inflicts cold damage; Magical rarity" I announce "Well that''s expected for a low-level dungeon, I''d have preferred at least Rare rarity" Dovin complained. We moved on and the hall had a few swinging axes, no so much as traps as it is a test of agility and timing. "Let''s just go around" Dovin said, but as he was saying that Clar walked up to the axes and swung her axe at the trap cutting through the wood that the Axe head was attached to. Clar proceded to disable the remaining axes leaving stubs swinging side to side. "Or you can just do that..." Dovin said, shocked. We cleared the way to the beast area with little effort, our 12 man party being more than a match for the low-level insects. "Prepare for a large ambush" Astra said, drawing her rapier from her parasol. She kept her parasol in her offhand for a guard, in case she needed to parry. We enter a room with stags, they charged at us but were no match being shot down mid-charge by our rangers and gunslinger. After collecting the magic cores we move onward. "Just yesterday they were attacking us in droves, this is too weird I am getting a bad feeling about this" (Tallen) "Perhaps the dungeon core is taking a day off, haha!" Clar joked. "Actually, that is a plausible explanation" Astra answered stopping to think. "Forgive me, my lady, but I believe your judgment is wrong" (Ken) "Think about it, for the past few days more and more monsters of been populating this dungeon perhaps the core ran out of mana to produce monsters and has entered some sort of sleep cycle" (Astra) "That actually makes sense" Cain said, agreeing. "Then that means we''ll have an easy time?" (Leo) "Until the core wakes up that is" I answer. "Then let''s do this quickly! perhaps we can kill the next floormaster and make our way to the Dungeon master!" Clar "I don''t think there is a dungeon master yet" (Tallen) "What do you mean?" Keera asked. "Is it because there is no {Dungeon master} buff?" I asked. "Yes, we can see the {Sector master} and {Floor master} buff but not a {Dungeon master} buff" Tallen answered. "So there is no Dungeon master?" Clar asked "Not at this time" I clarified Clar slumped to the ground "Then why are we on this raid?" Clar said with a shocked on her face. "Well, that makes sense" Astra said. "If our hypothesis is correct then the dungeon master hasn''t been created yet, not that it won''t " "How long will we have to wait for the dungeon master to spawn?" Dovin asked.A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. "given the rate at the... for lack of better words, maturity of the dungeon perhaps within a few days, although from yesterday to today there seems to be a massive growth, a week had passed and barely any traps and no treasures, then today there are more traps and treasures, if we assume a sort of dungeon equivalent of a growth spurt we can assume those few days will extend into a week or more" (Astra) "Are you saying this dungeon went through puberty or something?" Vala asked. "Actually that might be accurate to our analogy" (Astra) "U-um, p-perhaps we should... err... get an expert?" Thera asked timidly. "What a great idea, Thera! then we can get him to hire us for protection!" Corvon said. "A dungeon like this would spark the interest of those dungeonologists..." Cain said "More like it''ll light a fire under asses, they''ll be jumping to get their hands on a dungeon like this" (Leo) "Then it''s settled after this mission lets have the guild contact some dungeonologists, even this dungeon has my interest sparked" Tallen said. As we made our way through the beast zone we noticed that some treasures would appear after clearing the room or defeating a room master, but some treasures were just in a room and didn''t drop because of room clearing. This came to no surprise as it is common in some dungeons though not all; something that dungeonologists still have yet to explain why some dungeons do this and others do not. "Geh!" Thera exclaimed as we entered the next zone and saw it''s enemies. Blue and green slimes "You don''t like slimy things?" I asked "O-o-of course not! I-it''s moist and... gets everywhere... e-e-even if you wash it off it still feels like it''s there!" (Thera) "I can understand" I sympathized. "Well you''ll know if these things are actually on you or not, often slimes dissolve whatever they are touching" (Tallen) Thera and I just stare at Tallen in a tone that said "We didn''t want to know that!" but he completely missed our stares and rushed at the slimes. Honestly, sometimes I just want topunch him for his denseness. The slimes weren''t that strong, being level 8 and 9 they were no match for us, they didn''t even have the numbers of the insects. "Since the core seems to be asleep lets take out the sector master if we come across it" Astra commanded "But we''ll slay it as quickly as we can just in case the core can still learn our strategies" We started looking for the floor master going from room to room left to right to left, the dungeon layout being simple made this easy, we soon discovered the Slime Master for this zone, quicker than we''d thought. a hulking Blue slimewith tendrils reaching out toward us "Remember just mindlessly butcher this thing!" Astra commanded. as our fighters charged forward us mages started chanting while Thera cast defensive buffs on our fighters. [Gather lightning] [Echoing spell] [Lightning blast] I call down a strong blast of lightning down but I didn''t use all my strong daily spells. [Pledge of Darkness] [Mastery of Shadows] [Night Knights Blade] a black sword made of shadow materialized and slashed down onto the slime [Charging]Corvon didn''t have his two pistols out instead he had an overly large gun with a massive barrel, he inserted a faintly glowing red cartridge and reached for an electric blue one [Overclock] a high pitched wiring sound came from the gun and particles of light gathered at its tip. With a pull of the trigger, Corvon braced himself as a blast of light shot toward the sector master, the bullet pierced the slime blasting a large hole in it. With all the damage the master had suffered the slime collapsed in an inert puddle. a message like last time appeared announcing the death of sector We collected the magic core and continued searching for the floor master, since most of our party is physical damage our party will have to rely mostly on us mages to do most of the damage. Our search continued for a long time until we found the stairs to the second floor. Yet still no floor master, we even found an undead zone yet still can''t find thefloor master "Well at least we know where to go for the second floor but still no floor master" Keera complained. "We don''t have many more rooms to search but it is unlikely for the floor master to be in this zone" (Astra) We still finished oursearch but Astra was correct, likely the floor master is in the beast or undead area. "How about a race?" Tallen challenge. "Oh?" (Astra) "Yeah, lets split up and whomever finds the floor master first gets the greater cut of the profits" "Well, since the core is taking the day off might as well!" Clar said. "Alright, either of our parties should be able to hold our own" Astra agreed "to make it fair, since your group has fewer people, you guys cover the beast zone and we''ll take the undead zone" "Alright, let''s go guys!" Tallen commanded "Take this, use it to alert us that you guys found the floor master if we find it first we''ll use ours and it''ll alert you" Corvon said giving use a red crystal. "It''ll glow and vibrate the other if it''s used" Corvon clarified. "Thanks!" We quickly ran toward the beast area and started to grid it, instead of killing the monsters on our way we ran past them, they don''t seem to chase us into the next room. we did kill the room bosses though and gathered the loot. we came upon the Sector Master a large dire white honey badger, a vicious and deadly beast. "Conserve your mana Yeara, leave this one to us" Tallen commanded, I did so and watched the fight, a level 28 sector master versus 4 level 32 average. Tallen tanked the hits, holding his shield up to the swips of the razor claws and piercing fangs while Dovin and Leo launched attacked from a flanking position. Vala launched volleys into the pelt of the beast and soon the sector master was downed. we harvested the magic core and the white bloodied pelt from the man-sized beast. The message informing of the Sector master''s defeat broadcasted throughout the dungeon and soon enough we were informed of the undead sector master''s defeat. "Not in this zone either..." Vala said. "Then it must be in the undead area! Astra must have known otherwise she wouldn''t have sent us to this zone!" Dovin said angrily "No, they haven''t used their crystal thing, they haven''t found it either" I said pulling out the crystal, Tallen gave it to me during the sector master fight in case it broke in the melee. "It''s in the Insect area, dammit!, well-played dungeon core, having us nearly clear out the entire floor just to find the floor master" Tallen fumed. "Uug, do we have to?" I complained I hope it''s not some giant spider "Don''t worry I won''t make you fight any spiders" Tallen said with a smile, making me blush a little. we began gridding the insect area and as we entered a corner room it was already empty. "This makes thing easier on us, thankfully it''s already cleared" Dovin said. As we looked toward the exit to the hall we found it covered in thick webbing making shivers go down my spine. "L-lets not go that way" I said, backing away. turning to the way we just came from. I froze. when did that happen? The door was like-wise cover in webbing. Do not look up, do not look up, just burn the webbing away and run for it, yeah just run. [Fire spray] I aim the spell at the webs expecting them to melt away or at least burn but they were completely unaffected. Do not look up, do not look up, do not look up. I look up. Less than a foot away from my face I could see the glint of light reflected from its many eyes, its hair sent a chill down my spine, venom dripping from its dagger-like fangs. a giant spider loomed above me I blink, petrified, staring at this abomination inching closer from its rope-like webbing changing from the ceiling. Color drained from my face. "KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!" With an ear peircing scream so loud I swore the spider took sonic damage from its proximity I run toward the web covered exit swinging my staff at it trying to break free. "GETMEOUTGETMEOUTGETMEOUTGETMEOUT!!!" I scream. I hear the thud on the spider landing behind me. "Yeara! the other shout as they just realized the ambush they walked into. above them was the Floor Master surrounded by a swarm of descendinggiant spiders, many egg sacs clung to the ceiling, movement within them tells us that they are close to hatching. Hearing a louder thud behind me I dared to stop my assault on the webs and looked unconsciously using my Inspection skill.

"YEARA! USE THE CRYSTAL!" Tallen shouted. [Commanding Presence][Oath of Protection] [Knight''s Duty] I fumble around a pack shakingly pulling out the crystal and dropped it as all the spiders started attacking Tallen, his [Commanding Presence] makes all monsters within a certain range attack him. I slump to the ground reaching out a shaking hand to the crystal to activate it. "Yeara, you must overcome your fear" Vala said coming over to me to help me up. she took the crystal and activated it and put it in her pack. "Yeara, I know it''s sudden but you must conquer your fear. Win over your weakness and you''ll be much strong for it" Vala said holding me by my shoulders "Nonononononono! I don''t want to!" I denied "Yeara! you must!" "Please don''t make me do this!" "It is the only way to get out of here!" Vala embraced me in a hug "I know you''re scared; that''s alright, it''s alright to be scared" Vala Said petting my head. "I know you can do it" "I-I can''t" "Yes, you can" "I can''t!" "You can! Have courage! Burn the spiders! Take your staff and burn them all!" "I-I-I just can''t!" "DO IT!" Vala''s sudden outburst made me jump. "DO IT NOW!" I hold out my staff pointing it at the Spider queen trembling from head to toe shakily chanting [Maximise Spell] [Enhance Fire] [Echoing Spell] [Mana Burn] [All Out] [Hellflame Javalin] a Javelin of made of hellfire flashed across the room and piercing into the spider queen lighting it aflame dealing massive damage, unfortunately for me mana burn uses all my mana for extra damage so I can''t use any more spells, but the damage I dealt was enough that my party can take out the floor master although it''ll be a tough battle. "You did well Yeara" Vala said. Perhaps I can overcome my fear of spiders! I can do this! just then I felt drop on me a tarantula sized spider, not only one though, all the spiders in the egg sac above me were now clinging to me with fangs bared, their many black eyes reflecting light and crawling up on me. everything went black as I fainted, my last though echoing in my mind. Fuck overcoming fear, I am never going anywhere near spiders again. Chapter 6: Unknown Error

Syrath Slashed down with a spear-like leg meeting the steel shield of the human male knight. Go! Go! Syrath, go! Go! my greatest creation! I had found out the ability to rename monsters and since my floor master is my greatest creation yet it, of course, has to be named. The spider hatchlings dropped down adding to the swarm. The heinous Lion kin male and villainous dwarf male fought the growing swarm. The evil elf female was trying to get the baby spiders off the unconscious wicked sorceress. The blue group is rapidly making their way toward the floor master''s room, being unable to command the normal monsters all I can do is watch. Perhaps I can trap the entrances to the Floor Master''s room. With that realization, I access the Trap options. I create a pitfall trap at theentrances and upgrade them to be spiked, then I create and upgrade to poisoned arrow trap, and create and upgrade to a razor tripwire so that if they fall from the wire they''d fall into the pitfall, if they climb out of thepitfall then they''d fall for the arrow trap. I must be the smartest dungeon to think of something like that, trulya masterful plan! The battle raged on, the intruders killing more of the swarm but they are also tiring out, the spiderlings growing larger as time passes. Although the swarm is weak compared to the intruders, the number of them is a problem. Syrath drew back from attack the Human Male recovering from his provoking skill and laid more egg sack and hindered the intruders was webbing, truly a creation worthy of the position ''Floor Guardian''. [Commanding Presense] Syrath started attacking again in a frenzy, seems like thewicked knight limits my monsters attacks but theyattack relentlessly. "We need to use a burn tactic, the queen will continue to create more adds" "Alright, let''s unleash our most powerful attacks" The villainous dwarf male replied. As that was happening the blue group reach the traps. "Hold!" The Wood elfmale said. "Thishall feels dangerous" He looked around carefullywondering dangerously close to the trip wire. "Traps?" the orc female asked. "I''m no thiefor rouge but it certainly feels that way" [Revelation of Danger] the male mage chanted. The traps from my masterfully laid out plan started glowing red color. That''s Cheating! Cheater! I need an anti-magic trap or something. "Wow, there''s three of them" The wood elf male said as they carefully walked around the traps. GRRR, couldn''t outwit my perfect plan so you had to cheat... "I hear fighting" The male wood elf warned. "Are they really trying to kill it before we got here?" The blondie said drawing out her rapier from her parasol. The orc female swung her axe down on the webbing blocking the entrance. "Damn Tough! It must be harder than steel!" "Looks like they are trapped in there" The cheater said. Hmph, i''d like to see you cheat your way through that! [Breaker]! The orc female shouted swinging her axe down with all her might cleaving half webbing through Wh-what kind of brute are you?! "And again!" [Breaker]! The brute cleaved through the rest webs with that next slash. "Alright now we can go through!" The male samurai cheered and rushed in. [Iai] the male samurai shouted slashing through a wave of spiderlings. [Frost Nova] the bald male mage chanted and a burst of ice rippled through my poor monsters they must be frightened by thesescary intruders, the way they charged in with an intimidating roar. [Rapid Fire] with a stream of magical shots the male gunslinger mowed down the innocent spiderlings they never had a chance to grow up. [Critical Strike] [Thrust] Blondie shot forward using the back of the male samurai to jump over the enemies and stab poor Syrath in one of her eyes. Ahh! Syrath, hold strong against these cheaters and villains. [Mass Heal] the villainous group had a white and pure light envelop them and their wounds closed and the bleeding stopped. [Cure] [Protection against poison]. "Thanks, Thera" Thewicked knight said, recovering from the venom that the spiders injected into him. [Mass Blessing of Strength] the angel kin continued to buff the intruders. Hacks! That group is made of hackers and cheaters! [Rapid Thrust!] with a blur Blondie''s arm stabbed the eyes of Syrath one by one. My poor Syrath screeched in pain, being slaughtered like an animal. [Adrenalin Rush] [Intoxicating Thrill] buffing herself the brute gave a war cry and savagely attacked the shrinking group of spiderlings. Why? Why are they torturing my innocent monsters? What did they ever do to you, Syrath is even crying, the poor thing.Blood dripped down from the stabbed eyes of the Floor Guardian as it thrashed about, blinded; It looked anything but sad, more furious than anything. [Arrow rain] [multi shot] the two rangers hailed down arrows to finish off the spiderlings leaving only Syrath, after that the intruders focused their attacks on her using their strongest attacks. It didn''t take long for Syrath to fall. This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. The Intruders cheered and whooped in celebration, it had been a tough fight even though they are of similar level, a boss is still a boss, something that would normally take a raid. My-my greatest creation... killed by these cheaters... It was even a spider, their greatest weakness. Clearlyif even exploiting their weakness doesn''t work then I must create a stronger monster, an unbeatable monster, my Magnum Opus. What''s the strongest monster I have the capability of making? Accessing my databanks and looking at the types of monsters I find that there are very few types monsters that have a power rank of 10,Angels/demons, magical beasts, and slimes. The angels have the Seven Virtues, The demons have the Seven Sins, Magical beasts have the Dragons and Phoenix and the slimes can become the Assimilator. These monsters, if made into a floor guardian or sector Lord, has an additional buff they enhance monsters with unique to the specific monster. Alright! now I just need to create one of these guys... wait I don''t meet the requirement.
This monster cannot be created on this floor
Dammit! alright, I''ll just create it on the second floor.
This monster cannot be created on this floor
WHY?! With a sigh of frustration, I turn my focus to the evil intruders and cheaters they are desecrating the corpse of Syrath. "Not bad materials, raretier quality" the wicked knight said inspecting the fangs "It''ll add a poisoning effect to attacks" "That''s a very rare attribute one that would fetch a high price even for a "Rare" rarity material" (Evil female elf) "This carapace isn''t bad either it''s Rare rarity and has the ability to completely negate physical attacks for 10 seconds once per day" (Bald Cheater) "My current armor already has that effect,"(wicked knight) "Got Some magical spider silk, it only enhances defense, good for armor though" (blondie) After Brutally murdering my Syrath they rip apart her corpse, these guys are pure evil. "So what should we do? go to the second floor or leave and take a break?" (wicked knight) "You may leave if you want but we are going to check out the second floor, we won''t do much but we''ll at least see what''s ahead" (blondie) "We''ll go with you, the monsters shouldn''t be much trouble anyway" (Villainous Dwarf) "Alright, at least you''ll can soak up some more damage if we ever get in a pinch" Blondie haughtily said. "You don''t have to be so Tsundere"wicked knight mutter under his breath. The evil sorceress woke up and her group checked to see if she was alright, after that they made their way down to the second-floor entrance, the ornate door was now open. "Onward!" The Brute Whooped, braving the stairs. "Time to see what''s ahead" (Vile Lion kin) "Please no more spiders!" (evil sorceress cried) Sorry to tell you but there are more spiders on that floor hehehe. The large group descended and entering the next Sector they saw plant monsters. They were just outside the room as to not attract the attention of the monsters. "Well, how strong are they?" blondie said impatiently "You guys have higher inspection skill" "Hold on! Hmmm, average level is 21, I see the sector lord buff and a room master buff but not a floor guardian buff. Looks like the treant standing there is the room boss level 33" (wicked knight) "That''s quite the level jump!" The wood elf male was shocked. "Indeed if this keeps up per floor we''d have trouble getting to lower floors" (Bald Cheater) "Let''s go back, for now, we should report this to the guild hall" (blondie) Hmmm, they were determined by power level 2 monsters? perhaps these monsters are actually awesome?! Then, if these guys are this awesome how awesome will power level 3 be? I can''t wait to create my third floor which will have access to those levels of power with excitement of my success at scaring away these evil intruders the recent events of the floor guardian battle left my mind, now focused on trying to obtain these awesome monsters I look for other adventurers to try and scare away. without much to do all I could do is watch and my monsters are defeated by the intruders. The evil and cheater group left the dungeon prompting a surprising reward.
Intruders chased out 2592 Exp rewarded
So much! How are they worth so much? I am now over half way to level 2 in one day I''ve doubled my exp. As the day passed more and more intruders left but some wanted to stay longer "Maaan! if only there were rooms were we won''t be attacked, this is the only time I can get away from my nagging wife" a middle-aged man with greying hair said. "A retired adventurer dungeon diving just to get away from his wife..." a younger adult bearkin male muttered. "Immagine my excitement when this dungeon appeared "Wife I''ve got a great new job, it''ll pay way more" I told her" What is a wife? Iwondered while going through my databanks for any such information.I my databank incomplete? I have no information on such a race. "What did she say" The bearkin male asked "That''s great news what is?" HAHA! I told her then immediately ran out the door! no way am I going to stay for that lecture" (Old Male) Sounds like a terrible creature, is that why I am getting intruders? Are they running from something more terrifying? Let me see what a safe room does anyway... What?! I can get mana from the intruders from these things? It says it''ll heal them for the cost of giving me mana. Why didn''t I make these sooner!? The safe rooms have 3 upgrade paths, they can turn into something that let the intruders make weapons and repair their weapons, another is a secret shop room that''ll let them buy items with mana, only one of these per floor though. the last is a safe room that provides a place to rest. looks like these will be very useful to gaining more mana. a safe room costs 3000 mana, more than what I have. Looks like I''ll have to wait to create these. The next day after letting my mana recharge I have enough mana to either create a safe room or make a Stalker boss, the choice was obvious, I create the Stalker and several Hunter squads of monsters to control. The Stalker is in the beast Sector a large white wolf it has a pack of wolfs for the ''wolf pack'' bonus. Upon creation, the Stalker began patrolling the zone I access it''s menu and change the name from {Sector Stalker: Dire Wolf} to {Sector Stalker: Loro} Now time to test my cute Loro! Loro Go to the border close to the Insect Sector and wait in ambush for intruders. I create and gave the same command to the three hunter squads of adorable wolves. A couple hours later an Intruder group made their way into the beast sector. "Finally! I was getting tired of those bugs" a young dark elf male said. he was dressed in light armor and had too many daggers sheathed around his armor "Yeah, i''m glad this is a multi-type dungeon you don''t get sick of fighting the same type of monsters over and over again" A female dark elf agreed, she was in chitin armor with a shell shield and weilded a sword "Score for the dark elves of Dungeon conquring!" another dark elf male cheered. He was dressed in spidersilkrobes and carried a staff "What''s with that lame name?" an older dark elf male said, this one was dressed in wood armor and his staff had leaves growing on it. "We need a name for our dark elf only party" the dark elf mage replied "Don''t make up some lame name!" The dark elf druid smacked the mage with his staff. Pounce on them my adorable monsters! The wolves started rushing toward the room just as the lame-named group engaged some elks. "I''m getting a bad feeling" the dark elf roguewarned. "Is it a trap?" The dark elf warrior asked "I think it''s more monsters, my Monster sense skill is lower than my trap sense skill, judging by the difference in the skills it''s monsters" "Shit are the ambushes happening again?!" The druid cursed Loro and the hunters joined the fight. except only Loro''s group did, the hunters stopped as if running into a wall. Why?! is only one group allowed in a single room? damn I was banking on that. "How strong are the adds?" the warrior asked, intercepting Loro''s group "Says it''s a sector Stalker, whatever that is... be careful it''s level 25!" The rogue reported "Gah! why didn''t you say that before?! It hits damn hard!" The warrior complained "It''s a boss! We can''t handle it! we need to run!" The druid shouted. [escape smoke] the Rogue used an escape skill to disorientate the wolves and they ran back toward the entrance. Yes! All shall fear Loro! Just then something interrupted my celebration
An unknown error occurred in monster group: Stalker 1 Running diagnostic... ... ... Could not find a cause of the error
Would you like to send a report?
Yes No
Useless, as always I swear the diagnostic is broken, whenever there is a problem it can''t find it. Anyway, who would I send a report to? The one who nerfed me? if I send them this report they''ll take poor Loro away from me, no way am I letting that happen! I select the option "no" I will protect you Loro! Chapter 6.5: Emergent Soul No enemies detected. Moving to room 6H. I pass by the hunter wolves that was waiting to enter this room. God had ordered us to ambush some dark elves that were attacking our elk comrades, we chased them out. I wonder why god told all the hunters to attack, we can''t enter the same room, but god''s orders are absolute. Without needing to convey the message to my companions we moved in an arrow formation with me at the lead. Entering room 1H My first mission was successful, I wonder if my god is proud of me, I chased away my first intruders. Entering room 2H Now that the Floor guardian is dead I must do my best to protect my god. When did the floor guardian die? Is that why god created me? To protect it until the revival of the floor guardian? Entering room 3H I hope to find more intruders soon, to prove my usefulness to god. Entering Room 4H No intruders here Entering room 5H I wonder when I will get my next order from god Entering room 6H No intruders detected Moving to room 10J Entering room 6I These wolverines here have empty eyes almost like they are soulless, like machines. I wonder if my eyes are like that as well Entering room 7I I wonder how many Intruders the floor guardian killed before being defeated by intruders, probably a lot, I hope to be as useful to god as the floor guardian was. Entering room 8I The sector lord died as well, shame I could use the buff to better serve god. I have no doubts that my Sector lord was useful to god, I should aspire to be as strong and useful as my superiors Entering room 8J I know what to aspire to be! The Dungeon Emperor! Yes god hasn''t made one yet, God I shall prove my worthiness to you and become the best dungeon emperor Entering room 9J Hello, Mr. bears keeping this room safe for god? Entering room 10J Time to set another room to patrol! the hours passed by until I got another order from god "My adorable Loro go to this room and ambush the intruders there!" although god said "this room" I seem to know exactly what room god wanted me to know; god surely is powerful. Moving to room 3B running there I pass room by room, the monsters there didn''t even look at me, what devotion to gods orders, such diligence makes my eyes tear up with pride. "Sir there is a strong monster heading our way" we are not far from that room now my keen hearing could pick up the words of the scout. We rush in to aid tigers in this room, 2 of them already died. "Form up ranks soldiers! Let''s make this expedition a success!" Their leader commanded, the intruders lined up with shields covering them and spears pointing forward. There are still 3 intruders fighting the last tiger I charge into the shield wall breaking their ranks allowing my companions to attack uninhibited. I took several hits and the blood from the cuts dyed my white fur red. I swipe the intruders with a paw the size of their heads knocking them away and attacked their leader. He blocked my attack with his tower shieldand stabbed me with his sword. I bit down but he blocked that attack with his shield as well. [Indomible will] [Call of Duty] the leader used skills but that won''t help him, I howled using my [Call of the pack] to bolster my allies. I use my next ability [Hunter''s sense]. I thrash about knocking away intruders trying to get too close to me. "Sir that one is a boss, should we retreat?" "No, we take it down here! Kill theother two wolves then focus on this one" "Yes sir" The soldiers engaged in battle with my companion behind me [Provocation] I felt a strong urge to relentlessly attack my target, a red haze started to fill my sight. I bit and batted my target knocking him around. the knight drops his sword after a well-placed swipe and he held his arm which hung loosely. "Gaaah! I need healing!" the knight called. The red haze grew stronger and opening my jaws wide I move to bite him in half. [Chains of Binding] White transparent chains shot out from the ground and wrapped around me holding me back inches away from the knight''s face. [Heal] The knight''s wounds closed, but his arm is still broken. Behind me I hear the death whine of one of my companions, Stalker Wolf 1. Stalker wolf 1! Rage filled me.
Buff Acquired: Enraged: +10% Strength,
Stalker Wolf 1 was there for me the entire time, since the beginning. He was there for me when we chased away those intruders, he was there for me when we patroled this holy place for god, the times we spent together flashed by me. His memory will stay with me and I will have vengeance! I pulled at the chains and growled in anger, Stalker wolf 2 was fighting all alone I must help him. The red haze had cleared, as much as I''d like to get vengeance I must protect the living first stalker wolf 2 fought fiercely but took a sword slash to the back, stumbling an intruder with a spear took the opportunity and stabbed Stalker wolf 2 in the side. This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. No, not Stalker wolf 2 too, I can''t lose them both, not like this! I struggled and crakes appeared on the chains [Fatal strike] A sword fell and Stalker wolf 2''s head rolled.
Buff Acquired: Vengeful: +40% Strength Buff removed: Enraged
I growled pushing against the chains and the cracks grew larger until the chain broke. the intruder scream and ran away from me. I swat an intruder knocking him far away and charged down the one who killed Stalker wolf 2 You''ll pay for that! you''ll all die! "Sir we need to run away! the boss gained a powerful buff, we shouldn''t have killed the adds first" the scout warned "Y-yes, Retreat men! Retreat!" the leader, still holding his broken arm, commanded. The intruders dodged out of my rampage and ran toward the exit I followed them into the hall gaining on them [Wall of Ice] in front of me, a wall of ice appeared and before I could slow down, ran headfirst into the wall causing many cracks to ripple across its surface. chips of ice fell down and disappeared, evaporating before it could hit the ground. I hit the wall with my paw knocking a chunk out revealingthe intruders gaining distance. I hit the wall again and again until there was enough room for me to squeeze through and I began my chase again. the intruders had just crossed the border into the insect sector. You won''t get away! I charge them but hit an invisible wall What the?! Why can''t I- I realized that I can only be allowed within the borders of the beast area, I can''t get my revenge. God please! please! Let me through so I can get revenge and kill these intruders! No reply God, why are you blocking my path?! Haven''t I served you well enough? Do I have to surpass the great sector lords? How can I gain enough favor for you to allow me passage? beyond the border, the intruders relaxed, seeing me unable to go any further. I attacked the invisible wall again unable to break it. I must have failed god somehow, I am being punished. I sulk back and began patrolling, alone. I look back for the first time only to see no one following me. I couldn''t protect them, I couldn''t kill any intruders. It''s no wonder I am being punished. I patroled, with no destination in mind, odd I shouldn''t be able to do that. In fact, that might have been a reason why I couldn''t cross the border, there isa reason, why can''t I know it? What''s wrong with me? I walked aimlessly until I heard a surprising voice. "Loro, we failed you, sorry" I look back and see Stalker wolf 1 and 2, wait, that''s not their name... they don''t have a name, it''s just their designated identifier. I should have known my companions would revive, why didn''t I know that? "I am just glad you both are back" (me) "What''s our destination? there wasn''t one when we revived" (SW2) "I was just patrolling without one" (me) "How is that possible?" (SW1) "Now that you mention it, how can it do that?" (Me) "What''s going on Loro?" (SW2) "I don''t know" (me) I started walking "I can''t seem to set a destination... just follow me" (Me) After walking around for a few hours I had decided something. "Let''s give you guys some names" "What? why? god only named you not us" (SW1) "Perhaps God wanted me to name you, I serve God, but you serve me" (Me) "Seems logical enough" (SW2) "What would you name me?" (SW1) "How about Fido" (me) "That sounds like a terrible name" (Fido) "Then what about Fluffy? based of your long fur" (Me) "Hmmm, doesn''t sound ferocious enough, I need a name that''ll strike fear in the hearts of our enemies" (Fluffy) "If that''s what you want then how''s Devourer Wolf of Doom" (Me) "In hindsight, let''s just go with a cool short name" (Devourer Wolf of Doom) "Alright then, Kuro, based on your black fur" (Me) "Close enough" (Kuro) "What about me?" (SW2) "Pochi?" (me) "Isn''t that an equivalent of Fido?" (Pochi) "But it sounds better" (Me) "That it does... let''s see if we can''t think of a better name" (Pochi) "Then how''sDevourer Wolf of Doom?" (Me) "Fuck it, let''s just go with Pochi" (Pochi) "Lor...kil...Intr...ers...o here...." (God) What? Why can''t I properly hear god anymore? something is definitely wrong. In any case the Intruders are somewhere in C column "Come this way!" I Command Kuro and Pochi ""Righto"" We quickly run to the room where the intruders are most likely to be 5C but the room defenders are still alive. Which way? Up or down? Trusting my instincts I chose down and soon we enter a room where the defenders are slain; The snakes suffered magical wounds and slashes, their magic core was stolen and the snakes had their fangs removed. I caught the scent of the intruders and followed it, they are heading to the slime sector. We caught up to the intruders as they are fighting hunter squad 3. We won''t be able to enter that room right now, why was that? "Loro why can''t we just go in? Ithought I knew but I just can''t remember" (Kuro) "Same here" (Pochi) I thought about it, trying my best to rememberwhyI remember one of the hunting squads running into a barrier, I remember knowing why but I can''t remember why "I''m the same as you, for some reason, God has revoked our knowledge of this, I couldn''t really hear God''s command, almost as if our connection was weakening" (me) "It must have been the intruders, they must be causing this" (Pochi) "We Should kill them all!" (Kuro) The intruders slew the last of Hunter Squad 3 and before we could attack another hunter squad rushed into the room. It seems like the intruders were waiting for them. "They must have some way of knowing that we are here, they were waiting for another attack before falling for an ambush when already fighting room defenders" (Me) "What should we do?" (Pochi) "We should be strong enough! just kill them!" (Kuro) "Wait Kuro!" (Me) He didn''t wait and instead just ran forward forgetting that we can''t enter the room, but instead of hitting an invisible wall he was allowed in somehow. We looked at each other then ran after Kuro to join the fight. "Uwaa! this one''s a boss!" A child-like elf holding a bow said. Wearing blue dyed armor his color matched the other intruder except for 2 who doesn''t seem to be fighters. "It''s can''t be that strong let''s just blast it away!" A woman with blond hair with a strip of blue, a blue armored dress with a large bosom and holding a parasol said in a bored manner. She isn''t actively participating in the battle but once she heard that we were a "boss", whatever that was, she drew a rapier from her parasol and held her scabbard parasol offhand as if to parry incoming attacks. I got a very bad feeling from her as if she''s dangerous, all of those intruders look very strong, chances are we can''t defeat them. Odd how can I sense their strength now, I didn''t have that ability a few hours ago. "Be careful! They are very strong" I command. [Thrust]! the blond haired woman dashed forward at me aiming for my left eye. It happened so fast but my instincts were screaming at me to move and before I knew it pain erupted from cheek. I had dodged unconsciously. the woman looked surprised and now she, having jumped at me, is now in a bad position. Turning my head I managed to catch her ankle before she passed by me and I swing her around and threw her into her group then immediately charge into them while they are recovering. "This one''s different" The blond woman groaned "Monsters don''t move like that" An orc woman got in my way holding her axe in a defensive stance, the flat of the axe held in my direction. She took my attack head on and stumbled backward. I howled using my [Call of the Pack] and activated my [Hunter''s sense] and used my last skill, for some reason I didn''t have it before; odd but now''s not the time to contemplate these things. [Ferocity] I growed and felt power flow through me. [Chains of Binding] Hearing the word "chains" I immediately jump to the side, having experienced the spell before I knew what to expect but it was not enough and the chains wrapped around my one of my hind legs. I fell to the ground feeling as if I''ve beenjerked back. "Now''s our chance!" A man said getting up and aiming two weapons at me. The weapons shot blasts of raw magic at me, piercing through my hide. I whined in pain taking shot after shot. The man was just out of my range. [Ice Javalin] a javelin of ice shot past me and hit Kuro. "Run!" I command them with a bark, "Run! These guys are too strong for you" "We can''t just leave you here" (Pochi) "Now''s our chance! Kill the boss!" A man holding a curved sword ran at me but I snapped at him and swiped a paw to deter him from coming any closer [Many shot] the child-like elf shot out 4 arrows at once at my side. Blood dripped down from my wounds. I struggled to break free from the chains but couldn''t. [Magic arrow] an arrow of light hit me lying helplessly on the ground, unable to retaliate. Kuro and Pochi charged past me charging the ranged intruders but the orc and the swordmanblocked their charge, the blond-haired women was receiving healing from a girl with large white feathered wings. Kuro and Pochi fought valiantly but their efforts were in vain. I struggled as hard as I could against the chains and my precious companions suffered more injuries. "Run you fools! I''ll follow you as soon as I get free" I bark at them "We can''t just leave you hear" Kuro whined as he was sent flying backward from a powerful blow from the orc. The chains were dimming their effect was ending soon, with a last heave I put all my strength in it and managed to break the weakening chains. Kuro was limping toward to orc and Pochi was not any better off, one of her front legs had been cut off. I run forward with a ragged breath, arrows bristling out of me. The fighters back away from me but my intention was not to attack. I grabbed Kuro and Pochi by the scruff of their necks and ran away, the intruders didn''t give chase. I''m sorry god, but I have a feeling that if we die now we won''t come back. I failed you, god, I ask not for forgiveness just let my companion live. I ran as far away as I could before slumping to the ground and fell unconscious. Chapter 7: A Student of Dungeons "Master, this core is fluctuating again" We are in theScale Temple Dungeon on the sky isle of dragon''s peak. This is a rare type of dungeon the only dungeon that spawns dragons. My teacher is an expert in rare and unique dungeons. We have been studying this dungeon for 3 years now and, with the help of the adventurers, mapped out the fluctuations of the dungeon. "Let me see!" Master said pushing me aside from the screen of the measuring device attached to the core with cords and suctioned onto the core''s surface. "This is exactly what we needed!" Master exclaimed. Master is an aged man 58 years old, wrinkles are plentiful on his face and his complexion is sickly pale. Master''s hair is thinning and bald on top, what hair he does have is grey. Master wears the R&D uniform of the guild, acrimson coat, and black shirt, with navy blue Pants. He hasa guild badge sewn to his right arm on his coat that identifies him as a dungeonologist. "A Floor Boss respawned?" "Not just a floor boss, the floor boss of the 3rd floor!" master explained. "The fluctuations are slight so much so that a lesser piece of equipment wouldn''t pick up on it! But with this latest tech, we can finally pick up on them." Master navigated through the screen options and brought up a previous recording for a side by side comparison. The recordings show a line that spikes up or drops down, it measures the activity of the core. "See how this one from the first floor is less intense than the one from the third floor? The difference is only 0.003% but a consistent difference, also the intensity difference is predictable! A 0.002% for the second floor and a 0.004% for the fourth floor and so on!" "This is a great discovery, we could invent items that can communicate this to the guild and other adventurers!" "And this is why I chose you as my student, you apply your mind and the things you learn to practical applications" The fluctuating readings from the core happen every time a monster is slain, respawned, adventurer enters and leaves, treasure is looted and spawns, and so on everything that happens in this dungeon is recorded by the core; the only thing is, we don''t know how. How is it being recorded by the core? How are the monsters being created? It''s not using magic, not psychic power, not martial energy. The most widelyaccepted theory nowadaysis that the core is using divine energy which some have problems with the implications of that, namely, it would technicallymake the cores gods or at the very least make them a holy site. The previous theory was that the gods themselves were responsible for the creation of the monsters but criticismswere that if that was the case then there''d be no need for the core and doesn''t explain why monstersstop spawning once destroyed. Now it''s thought that the core taps into the nearest holy site for divinity, the only other source of divine energy other than gods, but our instruments aren''t sensitive enough to detect this link, this theory is criticised because the guardians have not reported a decrease of divinity in their holy land. A holy site was created before the gods were, this is known because the guardians of the holy lands are older by their own admission and by the admission of the gods themselves which is evidence of a creator god but not even the guardians know of a creator, they''ve never seen nor felt the divine power of such a being even while the world was still being created. "Letspack up" Master suddenly said. "Why?! We have so much more to learn!" "We made a great breakthrough, Sidlone, it is important to take breaks every now and then, besides, the core will still be here. I''ve seen many great Dungeonologists snapunder the pressure and stress" Master went over to our things. We camped in the dungeon core''s room, monsters don''t spawn here but sometimes there are traps in core rooms though not in this dungeon. "Start packing up that instrument, and be careful! that is the only one of it''s kind." I do as he commanded, but I wanted to stay and take more measurements. Every time we take a break I thinkjust another day! We could find the secret to the power source, just another day. Finding the power source to a dungeon core is worth a prestigious prize and the notoriety for proving right or wrong our current theories if one does so they surely land a spot in the history books. Every time we come back we have to hire top-tier adventurers to get us here, a very expensive thing and more so if a floor boss has to be defeated to proceed further and carrying all this equipment also requires hiring more people, but we don''t dare leave them here in case of theft. "When will we come back?" I ask as master is rolling up our sleeping bags. "After the defeat of the 3rd-floor boss, we will report to the guild hall about it''s respawning" It''s not a coincidence that Master chose now to go back, a report reward for the respawn of the floor boss would helpus if only a little. We take a teleportation circle spell from a scroll back to town. We haven''t been outside in months, our pale skin is evidence of that. We still had 3 weeks of rations left but I guess now''s a good of a time to return as any. I am weighed down by the heavy equipment and master is carrying other equiptment. We left the food and sleeping bags as since even if those are stolen it''s not as expensive, we only took the equiptment and since we came back early no one is here to help us carry everything. clouds drifted overhead as well as below, the reason this island is called Dragon''s Peak is that there are no islands above it. We walked down the stone path that led to town from the dungeon which haslittle traffic, the Scale Temple dungeonbeing one of the highest level, it''s lowest level monster being level 68 and highest non-boss 112, only level 70s and higher are allowed in the dungeon and there''s not a lot of them. "Haven''t seen you guys in a while, made any progress?" The gate guard said welcoming us. "We made a great breakthrough, these last 3 years have been worth it!" (Master) "Oh! that''s great, you guys do great things" (Guard) "My student thinks we can apply these findings to make inventions to help the adventurers here" (Master) "Really?! That''s great I retired from being an adventurer once I was level 40 this kinda makes me want to go back to adventuring" (Guard) "We have to report to the guild hall, our research led us to find out the floor boss of the 3rd floor respawned" (Master) "Well then don''t let me hold you" (Guard) We headed to the guild hall after that we will go out to have some real food. Dungeonologist expeditions can be quite expensive such as this one, but not all are, this only is only expensive due to the number of floors and it''s high level. Only 3 groups of known adventurers can take us to the core, we obviously don''t have the money but our sponsors do, the adventuring guild, they hired us for this job because of master''s renown and his successes. "Welcome back Master Gorton" The guild receptionist said warmly. "Good to be back, we have good news! We can now know when a floor boss respawns and on what floor" Master struck a pose with his hand on his chin. "That is great news!" The receptionist said with a charming smile. She was right in my strike range, long silky hair, exotic elvish beauty, her bust not too small nor too large, and defined hips, but agonizingly we aren''t allowed to flirt with the guild members. "I also have good news for you" "Really? Is it a pay raise? Better Instruments?" (Master) "You''re being reassigned!" The receptionist said with a glowing smile. "..." (Master) "..." (Me) "..." (Receptionist, still smiling) "Oh! good one! Almost thought you were serious, miss, hahaha" (Master) "I''m not joking, the order came in last night" The receptionist showed us a sealed message from the Guild Master. "EEEEHH! No, this can''t be! to lose such a high profile job like this" Master said disparagingly, sinking to his knees. "Please, we have results! Give us another chance!" Master said springing back up holding the receptionist''s hand" "Sir, you aren''t being fired, this is good news you are being sent to a higher priority job" (Receptionist) "A job more important than this one? What else is there?" (Master) "A new dungeon appeared, and this one is special" (Receptionist) "A new one?!" I exclaimed "Master! this could be our chance! All known dungeons have been around before dungeonologists, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the birth of a dungeon!, We might even be able to find it''s source of power!" "Calm down, Sidlone, she said it''s special so it must be different in a way never seen before and that''s why we are being sent there" Master opened the message and read it a greedy expression like I have never seen before on Master growing on his face as he read it. "Sidlone, we leave in 10 minutes, make sure you have everything" "What is it, Master" "This dungeon is more than special, I think it is a whole new classification of dungeon, According to this, it''s a multi-type dungeon, and shows signs of learning the tactics of adventurers, not only that but as each day goes by more monsters appear, more bosses, even new classifications of bosses, this is likely the greatest job promotion we will ever have, sidlone" (Master)This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. "You guys will be taking our fastest airship to the capital before going through theportal" (Receptionist) We got in the small magic core powered Airship, it doesn''t use a balloon like most cheep airships instead it uses the magical energy from magic cores to power it. The airship took off pressing us to our seats and gluing us to it. "I''m sorry about that but I''ve been told to get you there as fast as I can, we''ll be making a 2 day trip in 6 hours" (driver) "Got it" I managed to say unable to move from the acceleration. "We''ll be reaching max speeds in a few seconds" (Driver) As he finished saying that the acceleration slowed and stopped I didn''t have to ask why we are rushing so much, every day that does past means a day we can''t study a maturing dungeon. We don''t know how long it takes for a dungeon to fully mature; could take a week, months, or perhaps years, but for this dungeon, master think is a classification on its own, perhaps it''s something unique to this dungeon; maybe others are made fully matured. One thing is for sure we have our work cut out for us. "Why do you think this dungeon is a classification of its own, master?" I ask "Because I''ve studied many dungeons and they all have common features so when there is a dungeon that is different in so many ways it''s easy to spot them" "What is the possibility that the guild is wrong about that?" "The guild gets its information from the adventurers, so most of it is rumors, but if a lot of adventurers are saying the same thing, or maybe a few trusted adventurers then where there''s smoke there''s fire" "But it''s still rumors" "The part where the dungeon seems to be learning I believe is wrong, but a dungeon where more monsters appear day after day is easily noticeable by many it being a newly made dungeon is fact, they specifically said "recently appeared" not "recently found". The message also said that it was near a city and something close to a city can''t hide for long, not a dungeon anyway." "So what''s the plan? Who will we hire for escorting us to the core?" "First we''ll interview the adventurers and weed outunlikely rumors from probable ones, that is also where we''ll scout for good adventurers to hire" "How many floors does it have?" "Unknown, the message didn''t go into too much detail. I figure that it was made to entice us and left out details that could be applied to other dungeons" Master answered "Hmm, so the message pointed out all the things different, and that''s how you knew it was different from all the others" "Yes, there has never, not even once been a multi-type dungeon. There has never been in recorded history where more monsters keep appearing differently from respawning, although this is unverified as new dungeons weren''t documented so we simply don''t know if that''s normal or not; And as for bosses the message said there were multi-types as well, which suggests other bosses aside from floor bosses which is also unprecedented" "So from the multi-type monsters and bosses, you hypothesize that it''s a new classification" "Yes, those simply don''t happen" "I wonder about it being a different classification..." "Want to bet?" Master challenged "I''ll take you on, 100 gold sounds good?" "Pffft, just that? Our last escort cost the guild 3000 gold" "Need I remind you that 100 gold is still a lot?" "Can''t blame me for trying to raise the stakes when it''s guaranteed money for me" "I wonder about that" We arrived in the capital and made our way to thePortal. The portal could more accurately be called a nexus, it was a massive tower of a jade colored indestructible stone with intricate designs. At the top of the tower was a brightly shining briolette cut Emerald the size of a house slowly rotating, the flat sides casting ten light beams across the darkening sky like a lighthouse. Some cultures call this the god''s Lighthouse, others do in fact call it the Nexus, most have come to call it the portals. It''s not my first time using the portals. Master showed the guards his pass and submitted our things for inspection, the portals has awall with several entrances for guards to inspect for contraband built around it, a fee is usually required to use the portals but master''s pass exempts us from it. We made our way to a free portal terminal and Master began entering the coordinates in the dialing device. "1-947285637801 1-74993057261" Master said each number as he inputs the coordinates from the message we had received. "It''ll be daytime there, morning in fact" "And it''s getting late here, looks like we''ll miss some sleep" I observed "You can sleep on the way to the city from thetrade city there" The portal appeared with twisting lines of jade energy. We entered the portal and like stepping through a door we walk into the next city, the sun is bright out and people are bustling about. We passed through inspections and renteda carriage to Crystal lake city, the city named after the holy site that it was built near. Crystal Lake city was a large tourist city because of the holy site and carriages to that city is frequent but now it looks like they have another reason for an influx of people, a dungeon. It''ll take three days to get there but at least we''ll have company. In our carriage I saw a young Catkin girl dressed like an adventurer, using my inspection skill which I boast to have level 5 in I see that her class is Rouge. Her level is nothing to be proud of for an adventurer being level 6. The girl has wavy, brown, hair that reached to her shoulders. A long, short-haired tail, with enchanting yellow eyes, and daggers sheathed on her belt. her petite body has yet to develop fully but from what I see she''ll develop into a fine young woman. "Going to Crystal lake city for the view?" I ask. "No, I hear that there is a low-level new dungeon" She replied "Sorry miss but even low-level dungeon start at level 10 don''t you think you''re a little low level for it?" (master) "I-I heard that it was even lower! I thought that maybe..."(Catkin) "I wouldn''t believe every rumor you hear, there has never been a dungeon that low before" (Master) "Master, there might be a little credit to those rumors" I say "I know but even so it''s a risky thing to do that could get her killed" As master said that the catkin girl''s ears drooped "I-I know I''m weak, b-but I want to get stronger!" (Catkin) "I am Sidlone, and this is my Master, Gorton, pleased to meet you" I already knew her name from peeking at her stats but it''s polite to let her introduce herself "Ah, I am Nayil, nice to meet you" "We''ll be traveling for the next few days, let''s enjoy each other''s company" There were others and we introduced ourselves, they were tourists as most probably are. We talked about what we do which the others found very interesting, the others, well, their stories weren''t. The only one who had a semi-interesting story was Nayil, who was recently orphaned but instead of going to an orphanage she took up adventuring. Nayil''s father died working in the mines and her mother recently died from illness, she came from nothing and has nothing. I wanted to donate some money to her as the others riding with us did but master stopped me saying "If you give money to every old sob story you''d wind up poor yourself, only you''ll find that people won''t give you money", he was implying that only cons make up those sob stories. I want to believeNayil and the glares from the other passenger gave master showed that they believe her story. We arrived at the city Heading straight for the guild hall, if anything, Master takes his job seriously and with a possible time sensitive job every second counts. "Welcome! are you here to put in a quest?" The receptionist greeted. "Yes and no" Master showed her his guild identification. everyone associated with the guild has a guild identification, mostly it''s adventurers but like us guild researchers have one as well. Not all dungeonologists associate with the guild; some are hired by kings and nobles, others by an adventurer guild equivalent organization. "Oh, you''re one of the researchers that was coming! follow me, the guild hall president wants to speak with you" (Receptionist) Leading us out of the lobby we followed the girl to the guild president''s office, the hallway was minimally decorated but does have paintings of famous adventurers. The receptionist knocked on the door. "Come in" The president said. The receptionist opened the door, bowed and let us in. "Good, you''re here. Take a seat" The president waved to several seats. "I don''t want to repeat myself but we know that this dungeon is constantly changing and we need to study it as soon as we can, you''re just one of three teams. This dungeon appeared just outside of the city walls late at night, our investigations determined the time of appearance at midnight, the turn of the day. the lord sealed off the dungeon for a week until we could get a suitable adventurer team to safely investigate the dungeon and determine if a rampage would be dangerous or not." The president took a sip from his cup. then continued. "The level of monsters is low enough even the city guards can handle a rampage, an average of level 5, but recently, reports that level increases further in as normal dungeons. There are reported slayings of "Room masters" "Sector lords" and "Floor Guardians" the Blue slayers even suggest there might be a Dungeon Boss at some point, they have killed each of the bosses and reported the level too; tens for room bosses, twenties for sector bosses, thirties for floor bosses" "What are sectors?" I ask "They are zones, each sector has a type of monster, insects or slimes and the like." "How many floors?" Master asked. "two for sure, unknown if more, but not likely. (President)" "We''d like to interview some of the adventurers and ask who would be the best for an escort" (Master) "I''d recommend the Blue Slayers, they led the assault on the Floor boss, also for interviewing I''d recommend the Crimson Divers, blue slayers, Darkblades, and Sun warriors as well as a few other lower level groups" (President) "Alright we''ll interview them and then start the job" (Master) We went out to the lobby and waited for a messenger to contact the groups. Meanwhile, we talked with random adventurers. "I''ve never been to a dungeon so when I heard that there was one for my level I jumped on it, the first day was rough, we kept getting ambushed by large swarms of monsters, we barely made it out alive" (Adventurer A) "The traps seem pretty basic, but if you''re not careful you could fall for them. My stupid brother fell for a simple razor tripwire and we had to evacuate to heal his foot, it was pretty bad we weren''t sure if he could walk again but the healers said he got lucky and the wire didn''t cut all the way through his tendon" (Adventurer B) "I wasn''t here for the first few days, got here yesterday myself, I checked out the dungeon and it was fairly standard. Hmm? Was I ambushed? Nah all the monsters wouldn''t leave their rooms." (Adventurer C) "Wesaw some monsters roaming around, we''d have fought them but one of them was a boss" (Adventurer D) after talking with the adventurers Blue Slayers came with the messenger. "I''m sorry I can''t contact Crimson Divers and Sun Warriors, Darkblade has left the city on a mission." (Messenger) "So you''re the Dungeonologists they hired" A lady who seemed to be their leader stepped forward. My eyes were drawn to her large bust. "Nice to meet you, I am Gorton, and this is my Student, Sidlone" Master introduced us. "I am Astra, this is Ken, Corvon, Clar, Thera, Keera, and Cain" Astra introduced us to her party. "I heard that you think there will be a Dungeon Boss, a boss of all bosses for this dungeon, or something like that" "That is correct, it seems logical when we first entered the dungeon there was no sector boss, only room bosses, or as the Inspection skill reveals a Room Master. The next day there was a Sector boss, then the next a floor boss, and it was reported that an unexpected roaming boss was spotted a day after that." (Astra) "I heard conflicting rumors, saying that monsters would gather and ambush, but others say that they won''t leave their rooms, which is it?"(Master) "Both, The first days they would but something changed and on the day of the floor boss raid monsters wouldn''t even leave their rooms, but the next day something changed again and roaming monsters and even a roaming boss was spawned. Also, I don''t know how the core can see us but it once threw all it had against the Crimson Divers but the monsters were all blasted in one spell. When it came to us the monsters came in waves and even retreated when we were chanting a powerful AOE spell. It is highly likely that the core learned from its past mistakes" (Astra) "All cores I''ve studied can observe everything that happens within the dungeon, as for it learning, I wouldn''t believe that without more evidence. Well, there is only one thing left to do, and that is to go into the dungeon and investigate all these things. Blue slayers, we will need your cooperation with these studies." (Master) "How much are you willing to pay?" (Astra) "Talk that over with my employer, the guild president" (Master) Dungeon Core Short 1: Title Downloading update 1.1.0.1 ... A note on Bosses Room masters: a strong monster that would be a challenging encounter for a full party of intruders of equal level, in order to defeat this they''d have to utilize their strongest abilities. This boss empowers all monsters in the room making the room even more deadly. only 5 of these per sectors may exist Stalker: As strong as the room master but roams around a sector. More deadly than a room master as it can catch weak or unprepared intruders only one per sector may exist (This boss was implemented in the Roaming update: update 1.1) Teaser: Secluded master: Classified. (The secluded master is not implemented yet)Spoiler: This is the Room master equivalent of the secret sector, it is twice as strong and empowers the room as normal. 10 of these may exist instead of 5. (this boss will be implemented in the Secret sectors update) Sector lord: This boss is challenging for a half raid of equal level intruders the recommended number of intruders to fight this boss is 12 equal level intruders. This boss empowers all monsters in the sector. only one per sector may exist Teaser: ???Spoiler: This boss does not yet have a name It is planned for the Evolution update Predator: This boss roams around like the stalker but is not limited to a sector but is limited to a floor. this boss is sought out to be slain by intruder raids as the danger it poses can easily kill groups of intruders if caught unaware, this boss requires a half raid to slay meaning even full groups of intruders, unless they have a death wish, will try to run away. Only one may exist per floor (This boss was implemented in the Roaming update: update 1.1) Teaser: Concealed Lord: Classified. (The Concealed Lord is not implemented yet)Spoiler: The Concealed Lord is the Sector lord equivalent of the secret sector but will require at least 18 equal level intruders. This boss like the sector lord empowers all monsters int he secret sector. two of these may exist in the secret sector. (this boss will be implemented in the Secret sectors update)Stolen content warning: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. Floor guardian: This boss is challenging for a full raid of equal level intruders the recommended number of intruders to fight this boss is 24 equal level intruders. this boss empowers all monsters on the floor and seals the entrance to the next floor preventing intruders from continuing further until slain. this boss is one of 2 found in first generation dungeons Teaser: Phantom: Classified. (The Phantom is not implemented yet)Spoiler: The phantom is equally powerful to the floor guardian and like the floor, guardian seals the entrance to the next floor. this boss is another roaming boss however unlike other roaming bosses who actively seek out intruders this boss does everything it can to avoid battle and must be cornered. However, if confronted with a force it has no chance of losing against this boss will fight but will not chase if intruders retreat from the fight. This boss may be the most frustrating as it is difficult to corner as it knows dead ends and avoids them. only one per floor may exist. (this boss will be implemented in the Secret sectors update) Teaser: Hidden Guardian: Classified. (The hidden guardian is not implemented yet)Spoiler: This boss is the equivalent to the floor guardian except stronger, it empowers the secret sector only and does not seal the next floor the recommended number of equal level intruders is 30. Dungeon Champion: This boss is much stronger than the floor guardian requiring at least 36 equal level intruders to slay It does not empower monsters. only one may exist in the dungeon Spoiler: Spoiler in the Worlds update, the Dungeon champion will instead seal the next part of the dungeon instead of being the final boss. Teaser: World Protector: Classified. (The World Protector is not implemented yet)Spoiler: the World protector will be a sole boss of a new area past floor 11 (this boss will be implemented in the Worlds update) Emergency protocol 9: By the order of Dungeon Delvers Guild all knowledge of emergency protocol 9 has been forbidden. No one may know the shameful history of the DDG. Dungeon Core Short 5: Author is Back! HmmmHmmHMMM~? "Heya Core!" (Author) "KYAAAA! Hmm? When''d you get back Author?" (Core) "Last night I was helping the butterflies with chapter 3" (Author) "Wait, I was calling for you! why didn''t you answer me?" (Core)The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. "I didn''t hear you under the reconstruction" (Author) "Reconstruction?! Chapter 3 doesn''t even look any different!" (Core) "it does too! just not much different, oh and thanks narrator for making our conversation easy to tell apart for our readers" No problem "He''s being lazy with it! He''s not describing even our actions!" "Give him a break he was helping me yesterday and today he must be tired" "Wait, yesterday... YOU TOLD ME YOU DIDN''T SEE AUTHOR YESTERDAY!!!" Shhhhh don''t be too loud jeez... "You aren''t even helping the readers anymore..." (Core) Yes I am "You are NOW!" (Core) Just like always "I am going to get you one of these days..." Dungeon Core Short 6: Chapter 8 Where? "Sooo, Author, when is chapter 8 coming out?" "Soon" (Author) "How soon is soon?" "Soon" (Author) -_-" "Define ''soon''" ... "Soon"(Author) "Grrrr" "Well The butterflies need to finish their work on the other chapters since chapter 8 will include things from the new timeline and I know some people will get confused and ask about it. Since I don''t really want to explain I''ll just wait untill the butterflies are done with their job" (Author)If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it. "But... they''ve just been hanging around not doing anything" "they are now, see them fluttering about on chapter 4?" (Author) "Whoa! that''s a lot of them!" "Yeah, that chapters going to have a lot of work done on it" (Author) "Even more than chapter 2?" "I doubt it but maybe close to" (Author) "So 5 more chapters left to rewrite?" "Not quite, chapter 7 is fairly good all the needs to change is something minor, it can probably be done within an hour and chapter 6.5 much the same, maybe a bit more work but shouldn''t be that much as the change in timeline won''t really affect it all that much" (Author) "so just 3 more chapters need to be rewritten then?" "pretty much" (Author) "Why do I feel left out -_-" Dungeon Core Short 7: Where are we? "Soooo author, where are we?" (Core) yeah, I''ve been wondering that myself "and why is this place an endless void of white?" (Core) "Hmmm, good question but hey the chapters are here and so are the butterflies so it''s not like we are alone" "Yeah, but why is it just us, the chapters and this white void?" (Core)Stolen novel; please report. "Aren''t you forgetting something Narrator?" (Author) Oops sorry "Why can''t I get him to cooperate so easily?!" "Simple, it''s called respect" (Author) "And now he''s not paying respect to me!" Sorry I only have enough respect for one person "Grrr, then switch that respect to and from one of us as needed!" We seem to have gotten off topic "Oh, that''s right! About this void..." "It seems to be a chapter selection area, like chapter selection screen for movies" (Author) "Ohhh! That makes a lot of sense!" But why is it white? "Yeah, why not green, or blue?" "Or hot pink" (Author) "Yeah! or hot pi... eew"
