 Chapter 1: Beginning

 Chapter 2: His Abilities and World

    Cheng Hao was really intrigue by the information and went over it again to see if he could get more information, but to no avail.


    He looked around the surroundings and confirmed that he was inside of the temple, even though he had never been in it before.


    The inside of the temple was not small, being 5-meter-high, 20 meters long and with a width 10 meter. The wall of the entire temple was made of rock that where uneven, making the place look chaotic and undignified.


    Inside of the temple, there was only one window and that window was behind a statue that was sitting upon a throne made of rooks. Calling it a statue may not even be appropriate as the statue was not completed, it was more like a natural rock that just happened to be in the shape of a person.


    The front of the temple was a wide opened area that should have been the door but was left unfinished or purposely left that way. It seems to be that way as to allow lots of worshiper to come inside at once.


    After looking at the surrounding and getting a feel for it, he immediately put his attention to something else, his abilities. As soon as he got the information from the temple, he also receives five abilities.


    These abilities are powers the temple received after Origin Temple spilt into seven parts, that¡¯s to say that the other six temples also had abilities as well, before they got destroyed that is.


    The first ability he has, he thinks it¡¯s the best, even though all the temple has this one. The ability is Telepathy. He would be able to read minds and send his thoughts to anyone if they are in an area of 1 mile from him (temple).


    The reason he thinks this ability is the best is because he would be able to pass of as a god if someone come to pray here, if they know that a god reside here, they would not dare to destroy the temple, if they found it. Of course, if said god doesn¡¯t benefit but hinder them, they are bound to be destroyed.


    As for why he thinks the temple might be destroyed? That¡¯s because it would be weird if it wasn¡¯t, considering who owns the world now. Humans could be considered a god from a point of view, a destruction god that is.


    The second ability is the main reason for the temple¡¯s survival, Camouflage. The temple was able to use this ability to hide itself by blending in with its surrounding environment that no one could find it. If one doesn¡¯t come within 20 meters of the temple, its impossible to find it, but it¡¯s a pity that this ability was finally seen through as he was here in the end.


    The third ability is kind of useless to him as it has no allure to him at all, the ability is Ability Steal. With this ability he would be able to steal the powers of other people if they have weaker mentally/soul than him or if he defeats the individual.


    Since he¡¯s bound to the temple, he can¡¯t leave 1 mile from the temple or he would be deflected by an invisible barrier. Even if he could, where would he get these abilities from? The gods and dinosaurs have long died out, so it¡¯s impossible to steal from them. Esper¡¯s?     As for the fourth ability, Reincarnation? Its also useless as he is immortal if the temple lives. That¡¯s to say, even if he dies, he would reborn immediately. Although it doesn¡¯t have much use to him, if he uses it on someone, he could reincarnate them into anything, if they are in a mile radius of the temple.


    The last ability is the second best on his list of abilities, Lend. With this ability he would be able to give people abilities as well as taken them back as he¡¯s only lending it. When he saw this ability, he wonders if the gods in myth also use this ability, as its mention lots of times that gods have their own companions.


    After looking at the abilities, Hao was disappointed as he only got these few abilities as he knows that the other temples had at least eight to ten of them. He soon shook his head as he knows that the abilities he has are few because they are too powerful, and they could develop to become more powerful in the future.


    For example, the reincarnation ability that he has should be the blend of life and death coming together to create reincarnation, that¡¯s to say he could develop a new ability from the reincarnation ability if he explored it.


    ¡°Now what to do?¡± there is not much to do as he¡¯s dead and is only a spirt that floats around the temple. He can¡¯t go home (nor does he plan to) as he doesn¡¯t really have one. He had also scanned the area around the temple but found no one around, well there were some tigers and lions.


    The ability to scan the area around him is an ability that only available to him, it can¡¯t be lend to anyone else either, so it can¡¯t really be call ability. He calls it God Vision, as nothing can hide from him in a radius of a mile of the temple.


    ¡°Maybe I should look at the world inside of the temple?¡± Well he knows that there was a world inside of the Origin Temple that was easily thousands of times bigger than earth, but what about his temple? Does he also have a world?


    Brimming in anticipation, he flew towards the statue and disappeared inside of it.


    He soon appeared in an unfamiliar place that took his nonexistent breath away. Not far away from him, he saw a towering black globe that he assumed to be his world. The world was completely different from the world that he was used to by being desolate black.


    Curiosity got the better of him as he flew into the globe and shocked at how big it was. Before, even though it was big, he had assumed that it was because he was to far away from it but seeing it from the inside he could tell that the world was at least twice the size of earth.


    As he looked at the planet, he notices that although its bigger than earth, its lacking life as there is only lifelessness visible. There is only towering mountains, barren plains, rumbling rivers and oceans but still no life.


    He knew the reason for this was because the temple didn¡¯t have any owner before him and couldn¡¯t actively develop the world by itself, even the Origin Temple couldn¡¯t do it. In the end, the temples are only tools to use.


    Although he could develop the world, he can¡¯t do it currently as he can¡¯t affect the material world as he is a spirt. If he could, he would be able to take plant and animals from earth to this world to let it develop and became more inhabited.


    As he looks at the world, he made a silent promise in his heart to make this world a world that he had always dreamt of. As he looked at his world he became bored as he had nothing to do.


    ¡°Maybe I should try may abilities as I don¡¯t have anything to do.¡± He can¡¯t use Telepathy as he needs a target. He can¡¯t use Camouflage either as no one could see him anyway. He can¡¯t use Ability Steal as he has no ability to steal. That leaves Reincarnation and Lend.


    ¡°Reincarnation it is.¡± As soon as he made his choice, he shouted reincarnation in his head, a black vortex soon appeared in front of him, it sucked him in and he disappeared.

 Chapter 3: Old woman

    In a great wilderness, smoke could be seen rising to the skies. If one looked closer, one could see a tribe, this tribe seemed to be full of commotions as all the tribesmen are running about, seemly celebrating.


    The tribe is a big one, with at least 200 huts visible in sight, it was well organized that it was like a small town. In the center of the tribe, one could see a statue of a golden bull that¡¯s was a least 2 meters tall and 3 meters long. The statue was so lifelike that it seems that it could come to like at any second.


    Contrary to the happy tribesmen in the tribe, at the outskirt of the tribe, the atmosphere was gloomy that it could make anyone¡¯s skin to crawl. That¡¯s because one could an old woman that seem to be more dead than alive in front of a grave that had been dug up on her knees.


    The old women seem to be in her 80s¡¯. She wore an old plain washed out clothes on her bone like body. Her body was so thin that one would wonder if a gust of wind could blow her away.


    The old woman that is on her knees, cried and prayed to God as she made her request for her son to come back alive.


    The old women cast her ash brown eyes at the hole she had dug up with her bares hands, wanting to see if God would bring her child back. After looking at the coffin in the hole, she saw that it was still stationary, not moving at all, the old women body started to tremble as anger and hatred flooded her heart.


    ¡°Why do you do this to me? I have worshiped you since I could remember, and you can¡¯t allow me to simple see my child again?¡± She started to question her religion and the God she believes in. She had worshiped this God since she could remember.


    Sonia had once wonder why they (she and her mother) worshiped this god when there was a divine totem spirt in the tribe, her mother¡¯s response at the time was that the divine totem is not the one true god that create all things.


    Startled by the revelation, Sonia taught at the time that it would be best to worship the one that was real instead of the false one.


    As she worshiped this god, she had not once felt his presence nor as her day gotten better as her mother had told her, in fact her life could be said to be a living hell as she had given up too much and gotten nothing in return!


    Hao at the point in time, open his eyes and started to glance around his surroundings, but found that his movement were severely restricted. Hao had no idea of where he was, as the last thing he remembered was using the reincarnation ability and then he was here.


    As he laid there and was about to move, he was hit again with a familiar feeling of memories not his own inside of his head. Since he had experience this feeling before, he was not scared as he calmly reorganizes the memories.


    ¡°Wow, this is so cool! I can¡¯t believe that I went back in time. Right now, I seem to be dead, that¡¯s to say that I took over this dead body. Well I can buy it, considering I¡¯m a spirt now.¡± Hao couldn¡¯t stop muttering and talking to himself as he didn¡¯t expect that the reincarnation ability to work on him. In fact, at that time, he was only thinking that once he tests it, he could then use the other abilities as well.


    As Hao was moving around in the coffin, Sonia was staring at it with unblinking eyes that burnt with hope. It was then that she saw that the coffin moved faintly, she taught that something was wrong with her eyes.     With a happy expression on her face, he jumped into the hole and stated to open the coffin. Just as she was about to opened it up, she stops. She was scared if she opened it, she would be disappointed at what she saw, so she hesitated, but she made up her mind in the end.


    She pulled opened the coffin and inside of it, a young black man around the age of 17-18 years old could be seen looking around with curiosity in his dark eyes.


    Seeing the young man, she revealed an excited expression on her face as she hugs him and started to cry in happiness. She seemed to have gotten at least a decade of life back as her face shown with a youthful glow.


    ¡°Mother release me, I can¡¯t breathe.¡± Well he can¡¯t breathe anyway since the body he is in is dead. As for why he called the women his mother? That¡¯s because of the memories of the body, and considering he is using the body, he might as well call her as such.


    ¡°Apso, mother will never leave you again! If not for that reason you would not have died, I¡¯m so sorry.¡± The woman screamed and cried happy as she cuddles her baby in her arms.


    ¡°Mother, if you don¡¯t release me, I¡¯m going to die again!¡± although he doesn¡¯t have to breathe, he felt very suffocating in the woman¡¯s arm as he is not used to having such affection shone to him. Although he enjoys the feeling, he knew that she isn¡¯t doing this for him but for her son, her real son.


    ¡°Apso, how did you come back to life? I swear that the chief removed all your organs.¡± After calming down, she started to ask as she knew that it impossible for son to be alive as the chief had personally killed him and gave him organs at the sacrifice to the divine beast totem.


    Looking at the women in front of him, he had mixed feeling as he knew that she would be angry to death if she knew that her son was dead and a demon like existence like him took over his body, but he feels that it was wrong to lie to her, thus he asked.


    ¡°Do you believe in God?¡± he said, already knowing the answer.


    If it was before, she would not hesitant to say she believe in God, but now? She felt a mixed feeling for this so-called god. It was both gratitude and hatred, she felt gratitude since it finally did something for her but hatred because of all the suffering she went through to serve him but at the cost of something so dear to her life. After thinking for a while, she answered ¡®no¡¯.


    Hearing the woman¡¯s answer, Hao was startle and shocked as he simple could not believe what he was hearing. Hao knew from the memories of the body that this mother of his was a very religious woman that had followed his grandmother Corzine and sold their lives to God. So, to hear her say no, how couldn¡¯t he be shocked?


    ¡°Mother, to hear you say this, what have happened since I have been gone for this change to happen?¡± a complicated look appears on his face a he looked at women that seemed to be 80 but only 30 years old, sadness surge into his heart as felt pain. He knew this was the soul of body that hadn¡¯t disappeared yet that was affecting his mood, but he didn¡¯t erase it, as its his body to begin with after all.


    As she looked down at her son, Sonia felt that something was different about him but just couldn¡¯t put her finger on it. Usually he would never think about her wellbeing, so why did he change all sudden? Doubt started to spurt in her heart as she looked him and answering his question.


    ¡°After you was killed for looking at the chief¡¯s daughter with lust, I went to the divine beast totem statue to pray for an audience. I know that if I went to the chief, he would probably have killed me as to remove all troubles at the root. But at the time, I was ignorant that chief had given your organs to the divine beast totem as a sacrifice, so the divine beast totem told the chief of what I did, and he cast me out of the tribe since it would be bad to kill me right in front of the tribesmen.¡± Her answer was plain and simple to understand, but hearing this, Hao and the bodies soul were angry at the audacity of these people.


    It was one thing to kill the body but to outcast his mother? Isn¡¯t that looking for death? In fact, he wasn¡¯t angry at the chief, who he was angry at was the Divine Beast Totem. How could it backstab his mother? Isn¡¯t that like slapping a sleeping god in the face and expecting them not retaliate?


    Unknown Sonia, her ¡®son¡¯ had just made a startling promise to eradicate the Divine Beast Totem.

 Chapter 4: Thinking Of killing The Divine Beast Totem

    After listening to his mother and hearing all that happen in the two days of the body¡¯s death, Hao decide that he would hide the fact that he wasn¡¯t her son temporarily as that wouldn¡¯t do no good now but the opposite.


    He had long gotten out of the coffin and had help his mother to cover the hole as that would be suspicious if a coffin had been in plain sight with no body inside of it. His mother was very cooperative as she knew that if the tribe knew that her son was alive, they would probably hunt him down to extract the reason for his resurrection.


    And after thinking for a while, his mother had decided that it would be best to leave as far away form the tribe as possible, but Hao choose to stay 10 miles away from the tribe as he had secretly promise himself to kill the Divine Beast Totem before leaving completely.


    Although he had decided to kill the Divine Beast Totem, he knew that with his current power it would be nigh impossible, after all one could tell how powerful the Divine Beast Totem is just by having the ¡®divine¡¯ in its name. Plus, he doesn¡¯t even know much about the totems, but the general knowledge spread in the tribe.


    From what this body knows of totems, he could conclude that these totems are supernatural beings that have unique powers and they could share that power with mortal if the said mortal make sacrifice to it with its acknowledgment. In a sense, it¡¯s like a devil contract from the legends where you give something of equal valve to the devil to receive its power.


    The totem of Bull Tribe, the golden bull as the power of strength enchantment. With this enchantment, a young man at the age of 16 could lift a ton in weight with some difficulty and that¡¯s only the elementary stage. Above those stages are immediate, and advance stage.


    According to what the body knows, the chief is the only one in the entire tribe that is in the immediate stage. In this stage, one could have iron like bones and jade like flesh that is impregnable against sword and arrows.


    Of course, the so call impregnable to weapons is only possible if the said opponent is not at the same stage as you.


    As for the golden bull? its at the peak of its ability which is to have a golden body that is literally insane as one could heal from almost all deadly injuries if one could fine a safe place for a while. At this stage, one is literally at the peak of one¡¯s body potential and can¡¯t become stronger.


    After going over what he knows, a solemn expression was cast on his black face as he knew that to kill the golden bull is impossible unless he had someone to help him, but the only one that¡¯s closet to the golden bull powers is the chief and to get him to help is really going to be difficult if he knows I¡¯m the one that¡¯s seeking him.This book''s true home is on another platform.     Also, although killing the golden bull is his top priority, he also very interested how the totems work exactly. If he could create totems himself, he would have more cards to play in he if he¡¯s in danger of having the temple destroyed. They could be the temples guardians.


    But before he could learn about the secret of the totem, he as to instigate hatred between the chief and Divine Totem Beast. Well to him it¡¯s not hard, as he was once a human, so he knows that humans don¡¯t like to have someone above them that is almost as close in status to them.


    Before putting his taught into action, Hao must know if his abilities are still usable before proceeding with his plan.


    Of course, he¡¯s not stupid enough to use the reincarnation ability as that would most likely send him back to the temple, so he decides to use camouflage as a test first.


    As to not let his be mother suspicions, he made an excuse saying that he had something to do, but before he could go, he received a 2-hour long nagging from his mother, which he finds annoying. That¡¯s a lie, his heart was brimming with warmth of having someone worried about him, he was so happy that he didn¡¯t care if this feeling was genuinely his or not.


    Bidding farewell to his mother, he found a valley that was barren and soundless after walking for a while. Usually anywhere one goes there would sounds of insect, birds, or even the wind, but here? One could not heared a single thing and it makes one heart shudder with unease as if a beast was lying in wait.


    If he¡¯s not mistaken, this valley must be the valley of stillness, a place that said to have been curst to be forever still as stated by the demonic spirt of evil.


    The valley is also a forbidden place to all tribes in the surrounding areas as it said that who ever intrude in the valley will turn into a duppy [1] that haunts the intruder of the valley.


    He looked at the valley in wonder as he would love to go adventure inside of it, but at the last minute he reined in his curiosity as he knew that the so call duppy would not be able to really harm him as he literally a spirt as well, plus he would have a lot of time to come here after he kill the divine beast totem.


    Throwing away his curiosity, he stayed at the outskirt of the valley to see if he could use camouflage.


    Doing like what he did with the reincarnation ability, he mentally taught the word comanage in his head and watch his surroundings at the same time, but nothing happened. He was still at the same place, visible to the world.


    Not convinced that he couldn¡¯t use his ability, he tried repeat but to no avail. He had not choice but to acknowledge that he can¡¯t use his ability at all. Disappointed, he decides to return and readjust the plan as not able to use his ability, would make his job ten of not a hundred times harder than what he expected.


    As for why he didn¡¯t try his other abilities? He did but the results were the same. Earlier when he asks his mother if she believe in god, he had tried to used telepathy to speak to her, but it didn¡¯t work at all! He assumes that he mostly like could only use most of his ability in the modern world.

 Chapter 5: A Short Adventure

    After checking, and seeing none of his abilities work, Hao decided to go back '' home'' to his '' mother'' as he really was starting to miss her badly. Maybe that''s what a family is, missing them when they are not there, and reluctant to leave when they are.


    Feeling all poetic, he started to hum a tune as he continued forth.


    As he got far from the ''Valley of Stillness'', Hao noticed that he could heared the sounds of insect and birds again. He even noticed some weird species birds that had two heads, and even a squirrel that has its tail on fire jumping around.


    Hao had always been someone that explore the unknown, so seeing something that he wasn''t familiar with, how couldn''t he be curious about it?


    After coming to the Past World, this is what he decided to call this world, he had not done any exploring or made any discoveries. All he had done, was deciding to kill the divine totem beast, which any person could promise to do.


    He was sure that if it was someone else from his time, they would have done some amazing things, such as introduce medicine, technologies and even conquering the tribes in the area.


    Medicine and technologies where never his strong point; so, there is no way that he could improve the Past World with it. As for conquering the tribes? Only dumbasses would do that. There is no point in conquering the tribes as it will not belong to him in the end.


    So, he thought he could explore as he walked back home, he was sure his mother wouldn''t mind it, right? following through with his decision, he took the longer route home as he looked at all the animals and plants around him.


    The reason he made this decision, other than his curiosity, was that even though he can''t bring the tribe with him when he return, he could bring the knowledge he learned about the animals and plants, even the knowledge about the totems.

    After walking awhile, he was surprised when he saw a bearlike being that was 3 meters tall and had two heads. The left head of the bear is blue in color, it is the same color as the ocean. It made it seem like this head of the bear could breathe under water. The right head is green in color that it looks poisonous.


    Altogether, a 3-meter-tall black bear with two heads of blue and green stand before him roaring at the skies in rage. It looked like a war harden machine that had seen lots of blood and death in its life.


    This not what surprised him, what surprised him was that the bear was in front of him but didn''t seem like it could see him, as he was sure that if it did, he would be deader than he was already.


    Interested by this discovery, he wondered if the bear was just naturally born blind, but he soon denied this, because if it couldn''t see, nature would compensate it with echolocation like the bats or something of equal value.


    It¡¯s just like humans, humans are naturally born with weak bodies but with smart minds that make up for it. Of course, there are people born with both, a strong bodies and mind, but they are rare.


    He walked up to the bear and stood 5 meters away from it, to see if it could sense him. He was disappointed as the bear had no reaction other than stopping its roars.


    Hao became bold and advance one more meter, as soon as his feet touch the ground, all the bear''s hair stand up on edge as it''s two heads looked around in the surroundings warily.


    The bear had sense there was a presence nearby but could not locate the it. Although it couldn''t see it, from the numerous years as a hunter, it could sense a faint danger at the front. The bear didn''t hesitant any longer and use it massive black paw swipe at the empty air in front.


    The massive paw seemed to have enlarge in Hao''s eyes as it descended like lightning, Hao didn''t hesitant to jump backwards as soon as the bear lunched its attack. Hao''s back hit the ground and roll backwards like a ball.


    BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!


    Just as Hao jumped back and was swearing buckets, booming sounds reach his hears, so he looked up and was shocked silly!


    In the place that he was at, there is a two-meter-wide hole, the depths unknown. The hole looked like someone had donate a grenade there, no, even a grenade might not have the power to do something like that!


    The one responsible for the destruction, looked around in the surroundings with confusion as it was sure that it senses something in that location, but even when it launches its small attack to test the waters, it didn''t hit anything but the soft ground.


    It was smart, even though it is a bear, it knows stuff like these happened when there is a strong beast or beings of unimaginable powers in the area. Not wanting to lose its small life, the bear decided to retreat in haste.


    Watching the bear leave with fear on its face, Hao was laughing in his heart as he found it funny, it must think that something powerful was the cause of what happened.


    " So much for an adventure!" remembering how close he was to being squish into meat paste, fear grips his heart. Although he is unkillable, even he doesn''t want to experience death a second time.


    " I¡¯m going home, still to think the camouflage ability works, it works a little too well." He got up, ready to go home.


    As he walked, he couldn''t help but muse as he was pretty sure that the camouflage ability works, because there is no way in hell that a powerful being like that couldn''t noticed him, even when he was so close by.


    He noticed that the ability has become even more powerful, as even a person in 20 meters of him wouldn¡¯t noticed him like in the real world.

 Chapter 6: Building a Hut?

    knowing that the camouflage ability works, he wasted no time on his way back as he was in a hurry to begin the plan. He was more confident that he could accomplish what he sought out to do.


    Out of all his abilities, only the camouflage ability was the most usable in his current situation, even if the others still worked. After all, even if he had the other abilities, could they compare to being untraceable? Nope, unless it reaches the point where the other abilities get strengthen further, only then could he be said to be almighty.


    Still, with the camouflage ability, he could only be said to have the necessity to be safe, that is if no one can see through it.


    He soon reached home as it just became sunset.


    He saw his mother making supper with some twigs and leaves to burn fire. On the fire, between the two rocks was the twigs and leaves, and on top of the rocks was a small bronze pot.


    He walked up to her, feeling pain in his heart watching her doing such laborious work and ask, " Mother, after eating supper should we make a hut for ourselves?"


    She looked up and looked at him. She looked at him for about 45 seconds and answer softy, " No, remember we will only be staying here temporally. We will leave as soon as you do what you must!" her tone was resolute, there was no trace of hesitation in it, she will not stay if it means bringing unnecessary trouble.


    Hao was sweating bullets after his mother looked at him for so long, he felt as if she had seen through him, which he finds absurd. He did not leave any loopholes, he was sure.


    Hearing her answer, Hao agreed as that''s what he would do if he had not decided to kill the Divine Totem Beast.


    He still feels it was necessary to build something for his mother to rest in, he would not allow her to stay outside at night if he could help it.


    After making this decision, he looked around the area and noticed some red bamboo like trees. As someone from the bamboo country, he was biased towards the bamboos. So, since there are bamboos, his hut must be made from it.


    If he builds a house without bamboo, his ancestors would probably kill him, if they knew.
