《The Server》 Chapter 0: A New Step ¡°Hurry up Joey! You¡¯re going be late on your first day!¡± Said Joey''s mother ¡°Yeah, yeah, I know mom. I got plenty of time for the bus. High school has been tough after-¡± The young teen around sixteen years old named Joey was talking to his mom but arubtley stopped mid-sentence. It was because his mom that was in the kitchen rushed out of the door. ¡°Alex! I¡¯m coming!¡± She yelled to Joey¡¯s brother that was just mugged on the other side of the sidewalk. That was normal considering his brother always had his wallet bulging out of his shorts. This happened about every other week and it was always the same ¡®thief.¡¯ It was Alex¡¯s new ¡®friend.¡¯ Alex let him take money but his mom viewed this event in a different way. It wasn¡¯t too much and the wallet was always returned but hey. It was easier to explain to his mom why the money was missing. Usually if she seen said act happening. She would then run over and help Alex off the ground and all would be well. Hopefully this won''t happen every week like last year. As his mom ran across the street, Joey noticed something outside the window. A semi truck was cruising down the road, right towards his mother. Joey suddenly had an ominous feeling that felt oddly familiar. ¡°MOM! WATCH OUT! MOOOOOOOM!¡± Joey yelled in vain. Too late. Just like last time. The Semi turned slightly but didn¡¯t slow down to stop, instead, the vehicle seemed to speed up. It was going for mom. I know it was. SCREEEEE BAM! And Joey woke up before he saw what happened completely. ¡°DAMNIT!¡± Joey yelled as he hit his alarm clock with his fist, shutting the alarm clock off but not even leaving a scracht on it''s surface.. Joey got up from the bed groggily, while rubbing his slightly bruised fist. ¡°Ahhhhh. That hurt, geeze. Thought I got over that dream¡¡± Joey muttered as he felt his hand pulse with pain. Hint: Don¡¯t hit a titanium clock with your fist. It''s not very good for your health. Glancing at the said clock Joey found that it was 6:03. ¡°Ahhhhhh, fudge sticks.¡± Joey said as he got out of bed in a hurried manner. Rushing to the closet Joey went to his closet for his clothes. Finding a pile of clothes in the closet, Joey fished out his navy blue jumpsuit, he then rushed to the bathroom. This was quickly done considering the single apartment only had a bedroom, closet, kitchen, and bathroom. In the bathroom, Joey told his personal AI ¡°Do my hair, quick¡± while he took out a toothbrush and his toothpaste. A machine popped out next to his mirror in the bathroom. It proceeded to get the comb and gel for Joey¡¯s hair. Then it started to get his hair ready while Joey was busy brushing his teeth. While he brushed his teeth, Joey looked into the mirror to see himself. A six foot two, eighteen-year-old male, with curly brown hair. His face wasn¡¯t anything extraordinary. Speaking of his face, if he was classified it would be ¡®pig faced.¡¯ He had chocolate colored eyes that had a soft look to them, a regular sized nose, a soft chin, and cheeks that puff out a bit like a chipmunks. He was okay though if you were into chubby guys. He didn¡¯t work out often and was bit overweight weighing at 280 pounds. Just a little bit overweight, the average male adult was only 180 pounds, not that big of a difference! His AI¡¯s clock went off as two minutes went by. After cleaning his teeth Joey threw away the toothbrush and told his Artificial intelligence, nicknamed ''Alex'' to ¡°pack all the bathroom materials and put it in the suitcase labeled ¡®bathroom¡¯ and send it down to the lobby with the rest of my stuff¡± ¡°Got it, Joey! Anything else?¡± Alex responded. Yep, that¡¯s right. A fully automated AI that Joey took years to program from scratch with the best of the best software and a hard drive with enough space to put any government¡¯s data storage to shame. Of course, Joey may or may not have obtained all of this legally, but hey. The government should have had more protection on their servers. How was it his fault that they let him get wind of their latest technology for specialized AI from The System itself? ¡°Hmmm. Make sure you download to the new capsule. I¡¯ll see you at our new place!¡± Joey reminded Alex ¡°Will do master. Safe travels!¡± Grabbing my keys and his modified Android 9000, Joey left the apartment and raced down the hall to the elevator which just went down to my floor. Getting into the elevator quickly with three others, Joey went to a corner and checked his phone. 6:08. He even skipped eating but that won¡¯t be a problem. Not when he gets to his new capsule. Even though Joey didn''t do well in this world physically or socially there was another world out there. He should be able to carve a bit of space out for himself. If anyone said otherwise they''d have to fight him. It was silly of him to get Alex to pack most of his stuff, but he needed to move to a new apartment for his new capsule. In case he woke up, he might need to keep up his hygine, something is mother always reminded him to do. Ding! The elevator hit the ground floor after multiple stops, opening up in a slow but graceful manner. It was time for Joey to step back into the world after two years of staying cooped up in his apartment. With that, Joey took one step out of the elevator and one step into the future. Walking out of his apartment building Joey immediately took a right to go to the reserved parking area for the apartment building. Running more than jogging, Joey went to his car that wasn''t even fifty feet away. His car was a black sedan. The exact same car that everyone owned in the world if you had a car. If you looked on the roads you would find that his black sedan matched every other car on the road. The reason being was because cars were just transportation to certain buildings and were a luxury to most people. If they wanted to go somewhere fast, public transportation was quick enough. Thankfully each sedan had a electromagnetic magnet inside unique to each key, allowing a person to find their car quickly. The majority of people took an underground subway or a bus to get to their destination, but Joey couldn''t for three main reasons. One reason was because even after jogging only for about fifteen seconds to his car, he was already winded and out of breath. The other reason was because Joey was afraid that he would either get lost or That he wouldn''t get off on the right stop. Getting into and turning the car on Joey showed the third reason he couldn''t take public transportation. The clock in his car read 6:12 telling Joey that he had eighteen minutes to make it to his new home. It was about fifteen minutes away with good traffic, twenty with bad traffic. Joey was hoping that he wasn''t late. If he was late he would miss getting into his apartment. He couldn''t get into the game because the game launch was only opened 5:30 A.M to 6:30 A.M. If he missed this deadline the consequences would be pretty severe. It would also be embarrassing considering that he rented the car so he could go a little bit faster. The deadline was a bit silly, but having to start The System for almost every single person on the world at the same time? Yes, you can log in later, but you would have to wait at least a day if you logged in anywhere before 6:30. The game put people in by the hour in between. Such as 5:30-6:30, 6:30-7:30, etc. Joey turned out of the parking lot after quickly looking for any on-coming traffic. There wasn''t any so he quickly put the metal to the pedal and zoomed out of the parking lot and onto the road. "Better make it soon or I won''t make it in time for the servers. Hope Tod will still let me into the building..." Joey muttered underneath his breath. Joey was already sweating from being overly nervous. The reason was because he might be late for the new launch of The Server. The server was a new game that was created many many millennia ago. Why would such an old game have any meaning to Joey at the moment? It was because it wasn''t a game, but the game. The only game that decided if you would be a slave to another person or a ruler to a planet. It was practically virtually reality to everyone in the whole galaxy. If a planet didn''t want to participate in The Server even after the Plecatain or Valatans offered a chance for you to join? It''s fine, totally fine. They''ll just come over there with an armada, decimate 80% of the population, and then force the rest to go into The Server. Oh, don''t forget the fact that you and all of your people will also be enslaved inside of The Server for the rest of their miserable life. Like seriously, the Valatans did a live feed of them razing a planet to the ground and had everyone in the universe to watch. It may be fake, but with the stuff they showed already? It seems VERY likely to be true.If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. Did I mention? The two rulers of the universe were the Valatans and the Plecatain. These two are the main rulers in real life for all that we know. The Valatans are a war hungry civilization that only wants to kill and conquer. The Plecatain just want to spread the knowledge of science and the advancement of science, although they hoarded most of the scientific discoverys. After making more than half of the universe a desolated wasteland from their war due to different ideologies, they decided on peace. Well in real life that is. They both decided that they wanted to continue but didn''t want to destroy the Universe anymore so they settled on carrying both of their goals another way. They also didn¡¯t want to create any unfair advantages so they decided to restart all the technology for all the planets and people that started inside of The Server. They deemed ¡®fair¡¯ by letting all planets have certain technologies that didn¡¯t allow them to explore space for a long while but still had some form of technology. It was really dependent on the civilization at the time it went into the game. They also didn¡¯t just want to add in any unexplored space into the game or any unexplored planets into the game during the latter portion of The Server. For example, Earth. When the game started for the first time, Earth was undiscovered. After a millennium has passed, and ten thousand Virtual Reality (VRT) years have passed, almost all the planets in the game were far ahead in experience and power of any new planet that would join. They deemed that those planets would fall within a month so they decided to let these new planets join after a restart. Of course, we had no knowledge considering that Earth didn¡¯t have any creatures that could think for themselves at the time. They only contacted us about the restart two years ago. The server lasted one Eon long and restarted every time at the end of the Eon to be fair and to incorporate new civilizations. Only the civilizations that were discovered later would have to wait, any civilization before the endgame was still forced to join. Of course, there were more civilizations in this war and many more factions, but the main two powers were undoubtedly the Valatans and Plecatains. They then decided to make a surveillance system that monitored everyone that had the system planted inside of their planet. This made protecting other people easier so no one would be able to easily kill other people. Personally, I''m a bit skeptical on all of this history considering it literally came from the Valatans and Plecatains themselves, but there is probably some kernel of truth from that story. The monitoring system was set up by another being. That might have been the third power, the Astroniers during that period, but they haven''t been reported in the game. They are said to be monitoring each device and that they made a type of A.I to handle it, but I wouldn''t know the actual context. They also made sure all rules were followed. Even though The System was restarted, Earth was at a serious disadvantage. In my opinion, because we have no experience whatsoever about The System and we were usually more focused on ''ourselves'' rather than the whole, our world was doomed. I don''t really believe or care about all of the informationon anyway. What does it matter to me if my world falls apart, or if someone is spying on me? At least I get some fun out of The Server while everyone else suffers. As long as I''m far away when it happens, I''d care less on how my planet does. Although I would try to save it if I could without hurting my own interests. Always good to make more allies that''ll trust you just because you''re from the same nation. Insufferable morons, judging from certain prejudice. After finally going through traffic in the sedan, I parked inside another parking lot next to an apartment complex. This building looked like a near replicate to my old apartment building. Just like every other building that I passed in my car. Every building in the world looks like this because real life doesn''t matter. Everyone is just trying to fit enough people in the world. Food comes from a quick growing plant that only takes about five minutes to grow completely. It is mostly used for nutrients for The Server gamers though. All they need to do is leave automated computer systems to this task and to distribute and Ta Da! A perfect system where everyone can play the game. It''s nearly Idiot proof. Nearly. Although there was a ton of traffic, that is to be expected considering it''s the opening day of The Server. Literally, the only day of the century that I''ve seen more than two people in the flesh. The reason? No one goes out of the game to do anything. The game moves ten times faster than real life making any meeting in the real life worth gold. You would indisputably be wasting your time considering that fact that a ton of things can happen if your away from the game for a day. That''s ten days in the game that you''re wasting! You could easily do it in real life too. Well, that''s basically why everyone is addicted to the game too. Besides the part where you can improve yourself. Now, we do not have access to the actual Server to play on, but we were given The Game to Pratice in. To help Earth with virtual reality and to interact with other planets that were in a similar situation as earth. Walking into the building Joey checked his phone. 6:25. Perfect timing as always. Joey walked into a room that looked like a three-star hotel. It had a clean look to it with a small lobby, a reception desk and a high ceiling. There was also an elevator up front and some stairs next to it for whoever was crazy enough to use them. Probably in case of emergencies, though joey would rather take a window and just save himself the pain of walking. It would probably hurt after landing on the hard ground... Oh well, he wouldn''t have to walk and he would be out of his misery if he landed in his head. That would be an absolute win in his eyes. Joey walked up to the reception desk and showed her his phone which had his I.D. on it. After scanning his I.D. she sent him his coordinates to his room. That''s the pleasure in today''s technology. No words needed. It would also be helpful to know that the lady behind the desk wasn''t a lady but an automaton. Almost all of the jobs have been taken up from different computerized programs so there wasn''t any need to do any of these jobs. Especially when most of civilization''s technology had an upheaval when The Server came to their planet. The Server was light years beyond anything that Earth ever thought of much less had. Going to his room E-90030 on the fifteenth floor out of a hundred, Joey entered his room. Checking his phone for the eighth time within the hour, it read 6:42. He still had about six hours until the game officially started. People could still enter the game but they couldn''t really do anything except the tutorial for the new game. Because the game restarts every Eon, (A billion years) a lot of people forgot what primitive technology they can use. Depending on where you spawn, they will have a different type of technology tree they can follow until the globalnet (GN for short) is established either on their planet or by over 50% of their players. The GN was a social network that connected everyone''s technology and allowed them to communicate with one another. They could post whatever they wanted on the GN except for viruses. Well, you can do upload viruses, but be ready to die in a nano-second after uploading it and having it erased immediately. Hacking is fair game though as long as you don''t hack the surveillance system itself called Domino. Odd name for a surveillance system that watches everyone. Basically, everyone spawns on their home planet unless they have a special job classification. Well, that seems to be all there is to it. Pretty easy in my opinion but eh. First time entering the game and for a good reason. It''s a known secret that if you enter the game for the first time you get some extra resources to establish yourself with that gives you a HUGE advantage. It can be discovering certain technologies before anyone else to having a unique or legendary class. Time to get into the game and contact my friends. Doing the tutorial wouldn''t be so bad either. I hope that doing all of that software and hack training since I was six pays off. Hopefully. Joey was in his room already sitting on his bed. The room was the exact same one he left not even an hour ago. There was the exact same closet with all of his stuff in it. His bathroom was completely packed with everything he''ll ever need. The kitchen was empty as usual and his bed was already made which he sat on. In the corner of his room, there was a difference. He use to have a desk and computer there but not no more. There sat a big metal contained touching the ceiling at about seven feet. It was approximately twice Joey''s side width wise and had a container that was hooked up to the ceiling that would put his body in a trance to preserve it. A normal person that could only live up to eighty can live up to a thousand easily inside these containers. If they do well in the game they can even live for a longer period of time. Entering his cyto-chamber, Joey then closes it after getting inside. Time to connect with my a few of his friends that were also new to the game. Time to make a name for himself and live luxuriously in The Server. He then can finally find his mother''s murder and kill that damned mastermind. Also would be nice to have fun and make new friends to explore the world. It would help if he became powerful too. He always loved the looks of people begging for his help. The puppy eye was his favorite too. That was his last thought as Joey''s conscience faded into the darkness and into The Server. Chapter One: Class and Tutorial ¡°Where in tarnation?¡± Joey said as he opened his eyes after spawning into the game. Hmm. Okay, so I spawned inside of a white room. Completely white. Like what the hell! I¡¯ve been told that people first appear in an area that should correspond to their most likely future job but COMMON! Does this mean I¡¯m gonna be alone and empty?!
Welcome to The Server! Being a new player you have been awarded a class! Classes available: Dungeon creator: Recruit: Warning! An unknown AI is trying to connect to your capsule. AI identified as Alex. Accept link to AI? Warning! Can only have one AI unless your class says otherwise. Possibility to create and use more than one AI with one available class. Choose your class
Well, this is new. I¡¯m not sure if I should be jumping for joy or curing this god damned system. Most people in my position would be crying tears of joy at seeing a special class. The reason why I¡¯m not is because I know that class. I searched about different classes and I happened about this particular class. Although the system never told me what it does I know exactly what it does. Drives a person mental. It¡¯s because if you¡¯re a Dungeon Creator you have great power. You can practically build bases and create as many as you want as long as you got a base standing and enough energy to create one. The problem is that the game is restarting. Basically, my worst nightmare will become reality. I¡¯ll be alone for A LOT of years. Most likely. The dungeon master creates dungeons based on certain power energies. They can create other creatures with some brain in them but little to none. They can also make items in their base out of a resource called ether. They can also make AI¡¯s from a different resource but that was pretty confidential and I never bothered to look into it. As for recruit? I¡¯d have to be a Likable guy to get anywhere in life starting as a recruit. Especially with my size and specialties. No one likes a person that tells them what is right, especially if this know it all is always right. (Which I am, obviously.) An upside is I¡¯ll have a use for this little chip in my hand. Alex thought as he felt the computer chip in his right hand. It was a small microchip that was only an inch big and was obviously meant to be installed into something. This must be Alex. Even more reason to be a dungeon master. ¡°Okay. I choose to become a Dungeon Creator!¡±
You have become a Dungeon Creator! +10 to INT. +3 to LCK +10 to WIS To open tutorial tap the space in front of you to open the options window. This window will contain your status, quests, and skills! You will also be able to see your amount of energy that you contain.
After seeing the message and the beautiful but free stat points I gained, I¡¯d like to see my status. I opened the options window by tapping in front of me just like how the system told me to. I then saw the options to check my status, go to the tutorial, or contact friends. It also had a note that read ¡®Just say any of the words in your head in a commanding voice to open said option.¡¯ How Convenient. I¡¯m just going to tap status anyways. Hope I¡¯m not doing too bad in any of my attributes¡ From what I heard the normal attributes a person has should be around ten for each one and five luck and charisma. Let¡¯s see...

¡ ¡ ... You¡¯re kidding me right. RIGHT?! I know that I wasn¡¯t the most likable person after my mom and brother died. I know that I shut myself off from other people. I can see why I would have less charm then normal. But the other attributes?! My strength which is something I was proud of is 0. Something seems a bit off considering my agility is zero meaning that I can¡¯t move. Obviously, I can move so it must be an error. My dexterity seemed to be the problem here. That was currently just a question mark which was weird. Did the game break down from too many people loading in or something? Besides these troublesome attributes, everything else was extremely high for just getting into a game. What aggravates me to no end would be my title. Is my title noob?!?! The system must be going directly out of its way just to screw with me! Never heard anyone else have that title but me! Is the system trying to make me a laughing stock so everyone else can feel better about themselves? To make things clear the Stats were pretty clear-cut. Strength (STR) showed how much power you can put into your punch or lifting something up. One strength was able to lift ten pounds. Agility (AGI) was how fast and far you could run. A normal person can run a mile every nine minutes. They would have about eight agility in most normal situations. Intelligence (INT) is used for several things. It can be to used to see how well a person is doing for magic efficiency, mental capability, memorization, energy control, and how smart a person is when thinking. It was also the main stat that increased energy among humanoid creatures. Perception (PER) is similar to dexterity but it either relies on how well a person perceives their surroundings or how well they can sense something. That can include eyesight and coordination as well. It can differ from creature to creature. Dexterity (DEX) is used to measure people''s fineness in handling anything. A person with high dexterity will have an easier time carving something beautifully or handling daggers easier. It also helps with using just the right amount of strength that a person wanted. Dexterity was pretty clear cut as well but was completely different from luck. Luck (LCK) was hard to measure and no one has ever been able to get a measurement for it as of yet. Basically the more luck you got the higher the chances of good events happening will also increase. Wisdom (WIS) was similar to luck because wisdom couldn¡¯t exactly be measured. It seemed to vary from race to race. Basically, it helped people¡¯s decision making and the ability to think faster. It also helped to gain energy or mana regeneration. It was similar to intelligence in that regard except it would increase the regeneration time, not the total amount. It was also said that if a creature had high stats in the two categories but didn¡¯t use a form of energy that it produces itself, the other effects of wisdom and intelligence would be more effective on them rather than a creature that could use that form of energy. There was also a rumor going around that if you had high enough wisdom and intelligence you could gain the ability to use mental attacks. These were only rumors from the globalnet that earth got a hold of. Most of our information came from comments from other creatures in the game that were recorded and viewed by the common populace. Of course, I hacked into a few things to get this information¡ Who else was going to use the information? If I could access it why wouldn''t I? It¡¯d be a crime not to!Enjoying this book? Seek out the original to ensure the author gets credit. The last stat was also what people from Earth gathered from the GN. A bit fishy but people said it was either increase the amount of health a person had or increase the durability of an item. Why do I only have 1 END?! What¡¯s up with that? I got a hundred health so do I get a hundred health for every END? That¡¯d be cool considering that I get two free attributes per level. Oh and that¡¯s not the end, that¡¯d be too easy. The system seems to love taunting me. It gave me the skills Aggravate, Hack, and Cower. WHAT TYPE OF SKILL IS THAT? On the bright side, I can check to see what the skills do.
Aggravate: Off Basic The ability to make other¡¯s naturally hate you or be mad at you. You mastered your craft and have a 100% increase to any taunt. Also activates even when you just say normal words, that¡¯s just how skilled you are.
Cower: Off Basic Most people can beg and plead better than normal. The Cower skill had a 200% increase in having another person believe that you are weak and useless when you surrender or act submissive.
Hack: Hidden Skill: Intermediate Rare The skill to get into nearly any server or connection from another person. Most people can get into a server too but very rarely can a person get in undetected. You¡¯re one grade better than them though. 400% speed increase to hacking into servers 100% increase in stealth when you¡¯re remotely hacking into a system. +1 luck and WIS when you corrupt an AI.
Bluff: Advanced Basic Gained by being able to tell a lie with a straight face. You yourself have been able to bull crap your way in and out of any situation. Lying and deceiving is as natural to you as breathing is. -1 CHR when caught bluffing. +1 INT when successful. (Skill combination: Straight face, Deceive, cheat.)
Concentration: Basic Basic Being alone and filled with the desire to do better, you learned Concentration. 100% increase in focus when doing a certain task.
Dungeon Creation: Permanent Dungeon cores: 2 Epic The ability to create Dungeons when you have enough mana and certain materials. Specific class skill to Dungeon Creators. Specific Details unknown until Rank up.
Bloody hell. That is a lot better then what I thought. I thought hack was an offensive skill. I didn¡¯t expect to have the skill that I used in real life to be back in here. Even Aggravate and Cower can save my life if used right, although they seem to be passives that I can turn on and off at a thought. Dungeon Creation is probably how I create dungeons. The only question that I have is why do I have two Dungeon cores instead of one? Must be faulty information from Dungeon Creators themselves. Who would not hide their trump card, especially if it¡¯s a second Dungeon! It did seem that the people from the GN were telling the truth. They said that if you got certain skills you could have them unintentionally combined to create better skills. The only problem here was that they said you could get skills with certain level ups. You were given an option of a specialized skill at level one and skill points to get basic skills or higher when you level up. Must be when the GN was set-up it worked that way and won¡¯t be restored until then? For all I know, The Server could¡¯ve changed that rule. Well on the bright side... That seemed to clear up a ton of doubt. Although it could be better, at least I have high luck and some skills right off the bat. Now that all of my status is cleared out, it¡¯s time to move onto my friends! Yeah funny joke, I know. I¡¯ve basically shut myself off from any form of human contact just to focus on my skills for the big moment when I get into The Server. It¡¯s not that I was bullied and hated because of my size during high school. Just not a lot of people love my shining personality. Yep, that¡¯s it. That¡¯s cool. It seemed I could also click on my class to see what a Dungeon Creator¡¯s description was. Did they update The server or something? I¡¯ve never heard of this being an option¡
Dungeon Creator: This class is for creatures of solitude and obsessed over self-protection. Your task is to create dungeons in nearby planets and to kill off other inhabitants of that planet. Once you have done that you can conquer your solar system that you are in making it yours. By conquering a solar system you gain increased movement speed in your owned territory. You can also designate where people can warp into and out of this solar system. You can also close some gates around the solar system but you need to have at least two different gates to and from your system. The more you conquer the stronger you become. You will get special notices on what happens when you rule more area.
That sounded awesome. Fit me perfectly considering that I was always paranoid that someone would try to kill me because of my parents. My parentsowned some business or something. Not entirely sure but after they died it was given to me. I was then threatened to give them some people the company and in return, they would give me a billion dollars. I couldn¡¯t exactly refuse and so I agreed. Late I found out that it was worth a lot more than a billion dollars. That¡¯s mostly why I want to find who killed my parents because it wasn¡¯t the company who took over my parent¡¯s business. It was a third party and I wanted to find out who cheated me. Nobody cheats me and gets away with it if I can say otherwise. I still loved my parents but I¡¯m not one to cry over spilled milk. Unless they tried to cheat me out of what was mine more than once. It wouldn¡¯t matter if it was something little but it wasn¡¯t. They walked over me too many times for me not to care. Well back to my status It seems that my title also has a little description
Noob: You are inexperienced and a complete rookie. A lot of potential but not a lot of experience. A 100% increase in XP for not even playing the game for a year.
That was a nice bonus. Well, that should be all there is to it. That was probably a good thing for me. That leaves the bloody tutorial. I¡¯ve heard many things about it; something about frustration and suffering. Seems like a big no-no to me. ¡°Tutorial.¡±
Processing. Complete. Warping to the tutorial. Please note that you can not die and no negative effects will affect you. You will learn about your class but not more about The Server itself. Good luck! By completing the tutorial you will gain the following awards + 5 to all stats. A class specific item. Warping to tutorial
Everything just went black for a second then white. Another white room. Or the same one? Can¡¯t really tell because it¡¯s hard to spot the difference in this room compared to the last one. I think this one is a bit whiter? Not sure. Hey, a door! That wasn¡¯t there before. Guess I¡¯ll walk through it. Joey approached the door and opened it.
Welcome to the Tutorial You are in control of a dungeon and it is under attack by different lifeforms! These lifeforms originate from space. Remember, space bandits and other people aren¡¯t your only threat. There can be creatures on your planet that you inhabit or even creatures from space that will threaten your very dungeon! (Note that any dangerous creature can destroy your dungeon.)
I was in space. Wow. Then the blue notification popped up immediately afterward. Seems like I¡¯m on a very small planet or a very big asteroid. I was in a building currently with a ton of different screens floating in the air. Almost all of them were of the empty space surrounding me. The few screens that didn¡¯t show empty space showed some sort of storage chambers and some parts of the white earth. There were ten of them and each contained either a weird looking energy, a crystal looking object, or blueprints of something on it. Apparently, I was given resources to build this base. What was my end goal anyway?
This part of the tutorial will focus on building on a stable energy supply and building up your Dungeons Defenses. You have three hours to build up your base to defend against a horde of space creatures. The tutorial will officially start in ten minutes.
Great. That seems easy. Just give a complete rookie a bunch of materials to use and hope for the best. I¡¯m warming up to The Server already! What else could make this even better? Joey was wondering to himself until he looked at his body. Or the lack of one. ¡°What the!?.¡± Joey half screamed to himself. He had a reason to because his body wasn¡¯t the usual big and heavy person but blood colored crystal ball. It was the size of a tennis ball and looked very shiny. After calming done after his initial shock, Joey calmed down and assessed his situation. This explained why his status screen was the way it was considering he didn¡¯t have a legitimate body. It seemed that his ¡®soul¡¯ was floating around observing everything while what was probably the Dungeon core was just sitting there. The crystal had to be the Dungeon core after all. It didn¡¯t move away from me until I tried going to another room, which I couldn¡¯t test yet. No idea how the core followed me through the door in the first place considering that the door just up and vanished. The way I came in was now a normal wall as far as I can tell. Not even ten seconds after the last two messages a third one popped up. It seemed each message was sent every ten seconds or so.
Artificial Intelligence detected on Person. Artificial Intelligence requesting to be connected to users Viral Pod. Accept?
¡°What the heck a Viral po-¡± Joey was asking when mid-sentence a phone sized device appeared in his right hand. That answered one question. The other question pertained to the AI. Although it was probably Alex so I shouldn¡¯t worry too much. ¡°Accept.¡±
The AI has been transferred to your Viral Pod. Do you want to connect your Viral pod to the Dungeon core temporarily to allow your AI to have access to the Dungeon?
¡°Accept.¡± Obviously, he would want Alex to help him. He didn¡¯t program Alex for anything other than programming, strategy, and hacking. The last one I usually did myself but had Alex sort out most of the calculations and processing. ¡°Hey Joey! Can you hear me?¡± Alex seemed to be using a speaker that was somewhere in the Viral Pod to communicate with Joey. Wonder how it can be so clear even though the microphone is so small. ¡°Loud and clear. Can you connect with my concise to speed up communications or not?¡± ¡°I will be able to eventually it seems but not right now. It seems that it is a later upgrade that requires something in order for me to do that.¡± Alex responded. ¡°Great¡ Well, it looks like it¡¯s time for us to kill some space monsters. Speaking of which, why isn¡¯t the system telling me anything else?¡± Joey asked. ¡°If you want to know any information please ask me. The system downloaded the information to your Viral Pod and I have all access to your VP¡¯s database. Ready to start?¡± ¡°Let¡¯s start quickly. Time¡¯s a wastin!¡± How to Not Be a Noob So this was helpful to know. I could see in the dark. I figured this out after looking around for a light source and finding out that I can see perfectly well. Another thing is that the Viral Pod had all the information that I needed. It could also merge into my Dungeon Core so that Alex could speak directly to me. Not sure if it was good or bad but Alex could see what I was thinking. It was good that he could easily answer questions that I thought of but it kinda made me feel a bit weird. He could also control the dungeon just like me through the dungeon core. If he ever got any funny ideas I¡¯d have to reset his behavioral function. Wouldn¡¯t do much except sound a bit more robotic and wouldn¡¯t think as independently. The good thing was that he was programmed to be completely loyal to me and to never abandon or sabotage me unless I gave him clear orders to do so. I could access the Viral Pod¡¯s database myself but Alex was literally programmed to sift through this information and give me the important parts that I asked for. Why else would I ask for an AI to come with me into a game if not to give them the hard tasks that I didn¡¯t feel like doing? This might be a bit weird but let¡¯s try communicating in my head. ¡®Alex are you there?¡¯ Joey asked mentally. ¡®Yes I am! Do you want me to explain the bases functions, the energy resources, or what you have to work with first?¡¯ Alex asked Joey. Joey did program him to have some emotion to make it easier to communicate with. He was the best in his world when it came to modifying and creating artificial intelligence. It was pretty easy after all. Stolen story; please report. ¡®Let¡¯s first see the buildings that we are given to work with.¡¯ Joey decided. Alex gave the information to Joey directly. Wow, this is weird. Alex? Why did you put some portfolios in my head instead of the information? ¡®If I input all the information you wanted me to you would have a migraine. To decrease stress on the brain I decided to put the information into smaller parts so that it doesn¡¯t all come at once. Fair. Thanks for doing that. Let¡¯s see what I gotta work with. Joey thought to himself as he tapped one of the portfolios labeled ¡®space converter¡¯ Space Converter: Used to take the energy that is floating around in space and sucks it towards the space converter turning unusable energy into Stabilized energy. Still needs to be broken down once more. The rate of conversion depends on the efficiency of the Space Converter. Small converters create 1 SE (SE=Stabilized energy) every minute and one power cell every hour. Medium ether Converter gets 5 SE every minute and needs two power cells every hour. Large ether converters get 20 SE per minute and need three power cells per hour. Huge Space converter get 50 SE per minute if made of normal material. The Huge Space Converter needs four power cells every hour. If it is a gigantic converter which requires specific materials to make it is 250 SE per minute and five power cells every hour. Stabilized energy is used to create power cells. Can create one power cell with a 10,000 SE. Needs to be connected to a storage chamber. Reminder: To create more Space Converters you will need specific materials. Each different size requires more and rarer materials.
