《It's Hard To Be A Hero(The Companion of Justice)》 Chapter 1: Hero No. 013 Nafla Summer Chapter 1: Hero No. 013 Nafla Summer The twelve holy stars that formed the summoning magic circle lit the sacred hall with a storm of iridescent light. Mana swirled and swept through the hall like a raging tempest. Teressa knew her spell was a success. She can feel the all mighty presence of the hero who answered to her summon. He would be the light that liberates the world from the darkness that is the demon lord. He would be the savior and protector of this world. He is the mightiest hero who walked the hall of the Companion of Justice. Tessa knelt solemnly the moment the light faded and the storm of swirling mana settled. "O great hero, please save our world from the villainous hands of the demon king," she respectfully asked. There was no sound. The hero spoke no word. Intrigued, Teressa looked up to the majestic figure of the all mighty hero who would save her world. His hair was dawn itself, a majestic red, enchanting and mysterious. His body was not a bulk of muscles just like that of the paladins who served the temple. He was lanky, tall and lean just as she has imagined, yet appeared to be solid as if every fiber of muscles on his body was forged by fire. Yes, he was half naked. Tessa had no idea why he would answer to her summon while being in such a state. The hero stared at Teressa with widened amber eyes, then made a fist and punched himself. "Hero?" Teressa could not help but let the confused words slipped off her lips. A booming voice of fury shook the entire scared hall, "You imbecile!" The hero''s countenance was that of fury like an erupting volcano, "I''m basically on vacation leave. What have you done? No, what have you done? You have just destroyed my honeymoon." "Hero?" Teressa could not understand a word that the hero said. Vacation leave? Honey moon? Those were strange words. She should have understood the hero through the magical bond that she used to summon him. "Nincompoop, can''t you even read the clauses of our company before making a summoning? There are still like dozen of them still on duty and currently not taking any job. Why would you use the Emergency Summon to summon an off-duty hero like me?" the hero clutched his head. His fingers dug into his red hair and started tearing at them, "Can''t you see this giant notice on the board?" He then used his magic power to conjure a board out of thin air, a list of heroes that worked for the Companion of Justice. "Can''t you see the status? It reads . Are you perhaps illiterate or too stupid to understand the meaning of this notice? What do you have against me? This is the first holiday I had in thirty years. I had planned for this honeymoon for over twenty years and you have just destroyed it completely." Tears filled the hero''s eyes and wetted his ashen cheeks. His amber eyes turned into the angry red of ruby and fire. Teressa found herself completely stupefied, unable to mutter a word. She was both confused by the strange words that the hero spoke and the fury that radiated from his eyes. Even when he was angry, he''s still dreadfully beautiful and dreamy. This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. "What? Say something! Are you pretending to be deaf or muted?" The hero shouted and the entire hall seemed to shake, tilting to his booming voice. Teressa did not expect the hero would shower her with such wrath. Then, she remembered the words on the summoning manual and muttered them again. "O great hero, please save our world from the villainous hands of the demon king," "Now you are pretending to be a broken radio. And why would you summon me for this case? Did you even take a look at my resume? See? See this section? I have written very clearly here." The hero furiously scratched his head and stomped his feet. He summoned another semitransparent board in the air and pointed his finger at it. It was a familiar board which Teressa has read again and again for many years until she remembered every word on it. It was the resume of her beloved hero. The hero''s finger was pointing at that one specific line on Teressa''s favorite bible. "Why would you use an Emergency Summon to summon me? Demon Lord is not a specialty of mine," complained the hero. His handsome face wassmeared with tears. "But Hero, if you are powerful enough to deal with Demon Gods, surely you can deal with a demon lord," reasoned Teressa. "You imbecile. Demon Gods and Demon Lord are completely different. The procedures and methods of dealing with them are not the same. Why? Why do people as stupid as you even exist? Can''t you read the clauses first before signing the contract with my company and summon me? What do you say to defend yourself?" "O hero, please save our world from the villainous hands of the demon king?" "Fuck, the story of my life," the hero cursed, violently banging his head against the wall again and again and again as he set all sort of advanced vocabulary loose. That was the first time Teressa met with the beloved hero of her dream, hero number 013-Nafla Summer. YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY Matter and anti-matter, light and darkness, life and death, they are the opposing forces that perpetually counterbalance each other. So are Hero and Demon Lord. They are meant to fight and destroy each other from the moment of their birth. It is the hero''s duty and destiny to preserve, create, and protect the world while the Demon Lord would destroy, consume and undo the world. However, the world is imperfect. While there are universes and dimensions that have both Hero and Demon Lord to counterbalance with each other, there are also universes and dimension that only have either a Demon Lord or a Hero. There are even universes and dimensions that have too many of either Demon Lords or Heroes. That''s how the heroic company The Companion of Justice was first founded. They consist of ready-made Hero who would answer to the summon of people in need across universes and dimensions. These Heroes would then fulfill their destiny and duty, and combat the opposing force of the Demon Lord to protect the people who called for them. Nafla Summer is one of them, one of the thirteen Heroes who founded the Companion of Justice. His identification number was 013 and his rank within the company has consistently stayed at the number 13 from the beginning, unchanging without moving up or down once. Nafla Summer is one of the Heroes who specialize in a specific field within the Companion of Justice. For instance, the Hero number 073 Matt Scott is a specialist in dealing with Demon Lords who have weakness to cute things. The Hero number 055 Martha Waynekent is a specialist in dealing with a sub-specie type of vampiric nature Demon Lord that known as Children of Trypkon. Nafla is a specialist in dealing with the evolved form of Demon Lord. He is specialized in handling those Demon Lords who have evolved into Immortal life forms. Just like most specialized Heroes, he is extremely ill-equipped at dealing with anything that he is not specialized. While he had a mean at dealing with the strongest and most powerful evolved form of a Demon Lord, he is unable to deal with the weakest of Demon Lords. Chapter 2: SPEED-RUN IS THE ONLY ANSWER Chapter 2: SPEED-RUN IS THE ONLY ANSWER I telepathically dialed the 24/7 Emergency Hotline of the Companion of Justice for hours and still, nobody picked up. Tears welled at the corners of my eyes and started dripping down in two silver stream. I looked around the predominantly white hall that I was summoned to as my vision blurred. That priestess who introduced herself as Teressa still had that confused look on her face, doe eyes as if she was in a dream. The current situation is especially bad for many reasons. At this point, I could care less about my job perfect completion rate of 100%. I need to return to my wife quickly before she goes banana and destroys a universe or two. Once that happened, even with the entire squad of No.001, No.002 and I combined, it would take us weeks before we could calm her down. Of course, this moronic priestess Teressa had no idea what kind of catastrophic incident she has just caused. She and the rest of her world did not take the flyers of our company seriously. They did not take the words of our company flyers at the face value. After failing at dialing the emergency hotline for the zenith time of the day, I was frustrated and looked at the roster of Heroes of our company, dialing telepathically for a friend who is on duty and not summoned for a job. "What''s up Naf? How is the honeymoon going on for you?" The cheerful voice of Zegray, a close friend and colleague of mine, echoed within my ear canals. "Yo, Z, I need you to help me right now. Some idiot on Terran 1051 just used the Emergency Summon function to summon me." I told Zegray while staring at the perpetrator with my most intimidating look. "Shieeet," Zegray cursed, "That''s fuckup, dude. Did you call your wife and talk to her about it?" Z''s voice was especially high pitched, ringing within my ears. He''s obviously freaking out. He is one of a few who truly knows how terrifying my wife is the last time she''s on a rampage. That stuff was like a millennium ago. "I tried. However, the Galaxyfarfaraway universe, where we are having our honeymoon, is out of the service area. I could not connect to her." "Fuucck, you are so screwed. Why would you even holding your honeymoon in that backwater region?" Z cursed again and asked, "What do you need Naf?" "I cannot connect to the 24/7 Emergency Hotline. I need to get rid of the <24-hour no return> status on my head right now. I can''t teleport back to my world." I told Z. As long as the <24-hour no return> status is still sticking on the area above my head, I have to stay in the world which I was summoned to until that status expires. That status is branded on every Hero who is summoned via the Emergency Summon to ensure the Heroes would not abandon the people who are in extreme need before a substitution or reinforcement could arrive. The Emergency Summon function is only available to old customers who the company trusted. Therefore, I am required to get rid of that status to return to my wife. "Dude, you did not know?" Z made a strange question. "What?" I scowled at the strange question that Z pose. "Ty and Leshrac were summoned a week ago. Lian took a few days off, family business as usual. DD is on sick leave. Kylo was re-summoned two days ago. They said that the Demon Lord that she supposedly killed has recently re-spawned again." "That''s the entire Department!" I screamed internally and externally. I clutched my head and could not believe in what I have just listened. "Shouldn''t our company have a clause to prevent this kind of case from happening?" I started to bang my head against the wall again. "What else can I do for you Naf?" Z asked. "Come here Z. I need your help to clear this case." I told Z. "Of course, I''m glad to help you brother. However, you know that I''m no good at dealing with Demon God and things like that. They are your specialty." "No, it''s a Demon Lord." "Maaaaan, this is definitely not your day, isn''t it? You are like royally screwed big time." Z''s voice cracked up inside my head. It was like he was laughing at the other side of the line. "I know. Come here quickly Z. I have to clear this case before my wife notices me missing." "What''s the level of the Demon Lord?" "I have not asked them yet. Wait a second," I told Z and turned at Teressa the priestess who summoned me for the case, "You," I called her and the moronic priestess turned to look around as if there were other people in the hall. "You, yes you. Do you see another person in this hall? There is just me and you. Of course, I''m talking to you. What''s the level of the Demon Lord?" "It''s over 9,000, O Hero," she replied. "What?" I screamed, freaking out. I sorted of leaking that scream into the telepathic call by accident. "What?" Z''s anxious voice echoed within my head. "It''s over 9,000," The priestess confirmed. "Yo, Z, they said it''s over 9,000," I screamed into the line. "What? What the heck? How come that bastard has not evolved already at that level? Are you sure it''s not level 900 instead?" Z freaked out as well. "Hang on," I told Z, "Is that number a mistake? "No, Hero. It''s over 9,000," Teressa confirmed the information once again in her monotonous voice. "Lady, has anyone ever told you that the way you talk is like an auto-reply machine?" I shot the priestess a daggered glare and started talking to Z again. "Z. It''s not a mistake. This Demon Lord is one of those insufferable foolswho keepsholding an Ever-rock as he levels up." "I can''t deal with that. He''s like 3,000 levels ahead of me. I don''t usually deal with anything above level 5,000." Z shouted. No wonder he got stuck at level 6,000-ish for decades. He only took the job when he has confirmed that the Demon Lord he is tasked with is 1,000 levels below him or more.A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. "I know. I don''t usually deal with this shit either. Who else is currently on duty and not summoned? Rope in as many as you could. Tell them that I will pay them extra credit. Tell them that it is an emergency." "I don''t think anyone would be thrilled to deal with this case. Usually, those that are above level 9,000 are one of yours and the Twenty''s. We don''t deal with something like that." "I know Z. But, every single one of them is currently summoned. I can''t ask them for help. Do something about it Z, please. Just don''t bring trainees into this case. I will call you again later. I have to work out all the information related to this Demon Lord." "I will do what I can," said Z and hung up. YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY The numbers of people who came and responded to my Emergency summon hit 25. Adding Z and myself to the roster, it''s 27. The last time I have seen this many Heroes answered to a single summon was around the era when my beloved wife was still on active duty as a Demon Goddess of War. She has retired for centuries and at the moment looks like the most harmless woman in the world. However, the fact that she was once the Ace and the leader of Ally of Villain, a company founded by Demon Lords, still holds true. Though, other than I and Z, the rest of the squad is junior Heroes. Only three of them have experienced their first Ascension. The highest level Hero after Z is Desgia Dai Nichi, topping the level at 4,500. The rest averages around 3,300. Our team is seriously under-leveled. I complained internally. This is going to be a difficult speed run, I thought and began to clear my throat to get everyone''s attention. "The target is a level 9,000 Demon Lord type Dragon. Other than the ability to breathe fire, he has an incredible amount of life force and defense. His dragon scales are supposedly harder than diamond. So, make sure you remember that. He can neutralize all type of magic spells that are below level 9,000 with his draconic anti-magic barrier. So don''t waste your mana on those. However, Light and Dark magic attributes are the two exceptions to this case. Therefore, team A, I need you guys to keep spamming your or on him. You guys will be the main damage dealer of our squad. If you guys ran out of mana and he is still alive, use your range holy or dark attribute weapons. I don''t know how useful that would be, but we have to try. Team B, you guys have to maintain , , and on him. Keep him weakened. Team C, you are with me; we will tank all of his attacks and protect the rest of the squad. Team D, you will be put under Z''s command as a quick reaction unit. You will deal with any mobs that might show up and react to the situation accordingly. Any question?" I completed my debriefing on the Demon Lord and looked around the room, waiting for anyone to raise the question. "Yes, Mr. Summer. Do you think that it is even possible for us to clear this case within two hours?" A girl with bob cut stood up, separated herself from the rank and inquired. I glanced through her brief resume that Z has sent me through a telepathic message. Even though she looks like a girl in her teen, she has ascended once, so she could be over a hundred years old. "Chrys, right?" I confirmed her name and she nodded her head, "Call me Naf. No, my answer is no. It''s not realistically possible for us to defeat such a powerful target within two hours. However, we will do it. Why? I will tell you the answer because we are Heroes. If we don''t do it, nobody will and this world will be destroyed. If we don''t do it, many innocent lives in this beautiful world will be lost to the Demon Lord." I told Chrys, spilling nothing but bullshit while employing a low, deep and suave tone to conduct the most heartfelt speech I had in a while. "But why setting the deadline within two hours? I don''t understand. If the target is so strong, we can take some time to weaken him and his force slowly," Chrys raised her brows, embarrassedly scratching her cheeks as she continued to ask. "That''s right. That''s an excellent question. That''s a question that I want to hear. Why two hours? The answer is: we cannot afford to waste more time dealing with this one demon lord. There is a universe, maybe two or three, currently facing the risked of being wiped out of the existence of a certain Demon Goddess. As a Hero, I need to be there and prevent such tragedy from happening." I solemnly declared, making a fist and thumping my chest with my clenched fist. "Nice bullshit Naf," Z opened a secret telepathy channel to me and communicated, adding a thumb up emoji at the end of the message. I internally replied to him with an expressionless emoji and dropped our telepathic conversation. I did all of that while maintaining my serious business face. Of course, I was spouting bullshit left and right and Z knew it. However, it was a fact that if I could not return to my special duty honeymoon on time, there would be a very angry Demon Goddess on a rampage. "You are just like everything I have thought, Mr. Summer." I could see Chrys struggled to try calling me Naf for a moment, then she resumed to call me Mr. Summer again. "You are such a shining and exemplary example for us junior Heroes to follow. Even though you are currently on holiday leave, you are still taking priority in saving people and upholding justice." The bob cut hair girl clutched her two hands together and commented, making dreamy eyes. I zipped my mouth shut and let her believed in whatever she believed. "Can I also ask a question?" This time, it was Desgia''s turn to inquire. "Yes, please," I nodded my head. "Ummm, I have wanted to ask for a while now. Who is that man you are using as a chair?" Desgia pointed his finger at the human chair that I have been sitting on. "Oh, this?" I pointed a finger at my human chair and quickly slapped its greasy and sweaty head in a spur of anger, "Don''t mind him. He''s just a fool who self-proclaimed himself as the Holy Emperor and rightful ruler of this world." Desgia gulped loudly, rolling his widened eyes at my human chair. "Am I correct?" I angrily slapped my human chair in its head again. "Yes, master, you are absolutely correct. I''m a fool, a massive fool. Please spare me," my human chair cried, banging his head against the carpeted floor of his throne room. The indulgent red of the carpet turned dark as his tears wetted the fabric. Most people in the room are looking at the fool with concerned eyes, laced with pity. I felt my anger flared up and unconsciously slapped my human chair again. "Do not empathize with this fool. He''s the only reason that we are having such an Emergency Summon. He monopolized the Heroic Summon leaflets. He could have made the usual Heroic Summon years ago, yet he didn''t. He blackmailed the entire world to submit to him. Otherwise, he would not make the attempt to summon a Hero. After that, he allied himself with the Demon Lord and allowed the Demon Lord to devour one-third of this world''s population. That bloody Demon Lord was first discovered when it was around level 4,000. Now, it''s over 9,000 thanks to this fool. It''s only now that he realized that there is nobody can stand up against him and challenges his rule that he made the attempt to summon us Heroes." I seethed, slapping his head again and again. As soon as I ended my call with Z and worked on the information regarding the Demon Lord, the detailed data that Teressa and the army provided me struck me in a weird way. The data and documents are extremely detailed, vivid and clear that it is very unusual. Normally, the information regarding a Demon Lord is very obscure until Hero like us appears and shed light on it. People don''t usually confront a Demon Lord and live to tell the story. Furthermore, when people discover a Demon Lord, they would call our Company immediately before they even created anything resembled an educated document about a Demon Lord. Thus, Heroes like us more than often had to plunge our head straight into the fight while trying to get as much as data and information related to our case. As the result, when the information and data are too detailed, vivid and well-documented, I instantly realized that the case that I''m on is bizarre. I probed Teressa and got an answer from her. After that, I took my anger on this megalomaniac fool who self-proclaimed himself as a Holy Emperor. I might not be able to deal with a Demon Lord. However, I am still a man who saw through five Ascensions. I''m more than enough to take on a tyrant overlord or two at the same time. My anger could not subside, no matter how many time I slapped on the fool''s head. I knobbed my bony knuckles against his forehead instead. He cried and burrowed his head on the carpeted floor. It was because a giant fool like him that I had to come up with a ridiculous plan to speed-run a level 9,000 Demon Lord within two hours. As soon as I finished, the rest of my Demon Lord subjugating task force showered him with disdain. The human chair cried, but no longer has he received any more compassion from my companions. Really, this is such a shittiest whack-job that I have ever had in a while. First, I have to speed-run and dethroned a tyrant. Now, I have to deal with a level 9,000 Demon Lord. What worse? If I failed this speed-run, I have to face the wrath of a level 15,000 Demon Goddess. Just to be safe, I sent Z a secret telepathic message, "Just in case I don''t make it back before my wife starts to go on a rampage. Do you think this team could stop her?" Z sent me a sweating face emoji and "Count me out." Chapter 3: HEROES VS DEMON LORD Chapter 3: HEROES VS DEMON LORD The best record for beating a demon lord in our company was set by Hero No.003 Lisa Bravestorm. It was a peculiar case because she was summoned by none other than the Demon Lord, who she was tasked to subjugate. That one Demon Lord got himself pretty cocky after he has succeeded conquering his world. "Got bored," he said and attempted to summon a Hero to kill his boredom. He thought he was the strongest in the universe. Sure, he was the strongest being in his world with a total whopping Level of 6000. He got cocky and probably did not bother to check Lisa''s level. He asked Lisa to entertain him and she did not take his word very well. She was very pissed. She activated her unique skill and punched him so hard that his entire body became space dust while that pitiful Demon Lord was conducting his Demon Lord''s monologue. The fateful battle between a Demon Lord and the Hero did not even last twenty seconds. That was a record that nobody thought they could beat. Though, I could only hope that this Demon Lord Subjugation case I''m taking on would be as smooth as that one. I have confirmed the coordinates of the Demon Lord''s Fortress from the documents I collected. Z set up his warping spell and as soon as all of the Heroes stood on the magic circle Z erected, he activated his spell. My sighted warped as the magic circle that Z drew lit up like neon lights. "Fuuccck,"Z cursed aloud while I was doing that internally. I would like to say that the coordinates of the Demon Lord''s Fortress that these people gave me was too precise. This is literally a speed-run. God damn it! I immediately knew that Iam already inside the throne room of the Demon Lord from the experience. God damn it! I need some time to prepare myself first¡ For a moment, I was in awe at the sheer scale and the gargantuan larger-than-life feeling that this throne room projected. A predominant golden hall that was so big and large that it must be an architectural wonder of this world, created by the most ingeniousengineers and dwarves no less. The pillars that supported the hall must be at least 60 meters height or something. "This could not be pure gold, could it?" I asked myself internally, gulping. They must be gilded, I deluded myself. How many tons of gold is required to construct this hall? I had no idea. The massive ceiling of this golden hall was even more impressive. A semi-transparent hemisphere created from the glistering of millions of diamonds. "I knew that this day would come. That puny rat has finally done it. Heroes, I have been waiting for you," Fiery voices boomed and shook the throne room, reverberating through my bones and ear canals. Suddenly the entire throne room was lit by thousands of braziers and torches. Three serpentine necks rose from the stretching shadows of the tall pillars, framing the golden hall with their shiny black scales. What a massive beast, I thought. A towering three head dragon covered in jet black obsidian scales stood, spreading its massive wings. Red eyes peered down at me from above, filled with both contempt and amusement. "My name is Nafla Summer, a professional Hero. You must be the Demon Lord Salodonel Highdragon if I''m not wrong." I stepped out of the fray and introduce myself. The three headed dragon scoffed and puffed out its chest. "Feast your eyes upon my mighty form, Heroes. Tis'' I Salodonel the Destroyer, the Devourer, the Flame of Flame, the¡" "Sorry, I don''t have time for that. Quick question, have you had any thought of surrendering or revoking your seed of destruction and co-exist peacefully in this world?" I interjected, skipping the entire self-introduction cut-in of the Demon Lord. I did not have time to wait until he''s done with his introduction. The dragon did not appreciate the fact that I have just cut its monologue short. It gnashed its teeth and hissed, "Puny creatures, do you think you and your puny group can¡" I shouted, conjuring an orb of light to smash into one of the dragon head, dazzling the behemoth for a moment. "He said no. Stick with the plan and beat the crap out of him," I shouted and my companions bellowed their thunderous war cry. I have expected that the dragon would not surrender peacefully without a fight. I wished it did, would save me a lot of time. Flame spewed out of the dragons'' snout and his eyes flared up with fury. "There should be a limit to how rude¡" , , , It seemed the Demon Lord was trying to say something, however, team B was already on their job, casting debuffs on him according to the plan. The dragon choked on its words due to the effect of . Now, it could not cast any spell until it manages to do something about those guys on team B. The three headed dragon cocked back, inhaled deeply and puffed its mouths. "Incoming," I barked my order, signaling my companions to get behind me. I casted a defensive spell and erected a golden barrier to protect my companions. Three columns of fire scorched the enclosed throne room, turning up the heat by several thousand Celsius. Each one of those spewing flame column had a different color, one blue, one reddish yellow and one white. However, the moment those three fiery columns touched my glowing golden barrier, the fire went poof, leaving no trace. Three pairs of giant ruby eyes turned round and widened, filled with shock, not for long. A barrage of smashed against the gargantuan figure of the three headed behemoth with impunity and sent it falling backward, crushing its golden throne with its sheer size and weight. A tremor spread through the golden throne room and the diamantine ceiling seemed to shift. "Team C, with me. A and B, keep your distance and keep spamming your spells. D stay alert," I shouted, leading the vanguard to move forward. From within the cloud of dust, the dragon bounced back from the attack with an explosive display of agility that was physically impossible for something of its size. Its reddish toothy mouths opened wide, revealing razor teeth and fangs like a forest of spears. I tapped into my mana core and conjured five layers of protective barriers with a unique skill of mine. The dragon tore through the first three barriers easily with its massive strength, cracked down the fourth and was stopped short by the fifth. My team backed me up with their defensive skills. and were casted, adding more defensive layers to stop the dragon''s onslaught. The dragon raked its massive claws against my final barrier twice and managed to tear it down after the third time. The dragon then turned its back and spinned like a tonado, its morning star-like tail whipping, effortlessly smashed through dozen layers of and that my team conjured as if they were nothing but glasses. I instantly glimpsed through my inventory box and took out my beloved Gates of Heaven. The pair of great shields materialized in each hand of mine, "You shall not pass," I braced myself for the impact, teeth gnashing. The bulk of the dragon carapace tail met my Gates of Heaven and a tremor spread through the throne room. I felt my bones rattled as I took that attack head on. Shit, I felt that attack. Even when it was inflicted with , the dragon''s attack still packed a ridiculous strength of a Level 9,000 Demon Lord. We, I and the Gates of Heaven, are immovable objects when we are together. The three headed dragon, strong as it might be, is, however, not an unstoppable force. Thus, the tail bounced off and knocked onto a nearby pillar, bringing it down to the ground.A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. The dragon stared at me with increased bewilderment. The thought that something like a puny human have managed to repel its attack in a direct confrontation had never crossed its mind. The thought that it has lost in a contest of strength must feel strange to it. Nevertheless, this three head dragon is just a frog inside a well. There are things, creatures and people, who possess a greater strength in the vast arrays of multiverses and multi-dimensions. My wife and our company Hero No.003 are the best examples of that. When No.003 became serious, she could destroy a star with a single punch. My wife on the other hand, when she entered her rampage mode, she could dish out a barrage of attacks that could obliterate an entire Solar system within seconds. Until this day, only those two women have managed to put a crack on my defense. "As expected of the greatest masochist of our company," Z sent a telepathic message straight into my head, which I ignored and told him to watch out instead. As the dragon was busy staring at me with disbelief in its eyes, and rocked its body. The Demon Lord staggered but bounced up right away. It lashed out a new onslaught, however, the cool down for my was up and I immediately conjured the five layers barrier. The dragon''s attack was once again repelled. Furious, it launched another breathing attack again, spewing an infernal jet stream of three colors toward our direction. Again, my dispelled the dragon''s fire completely. The dragon angrily bellowed, or at least that was what it looked like. It was still afflicted with . Just for a moment, I thought that the behemoth was looking up. I saw the same identical evil smirk spread on its three mouths. The dragon lashed its tail and tore through dozens of and that the junior Heroes in my team conjured before straying into a nearby pillar. The pillar broke into two and crumbled. The dragon continued to spin around, violently smashing its tail at us. Again, I repelled its attack with the pair of great shields on my hand. Its massive carapace tail bounced and nailed another yet pillar. and did nothing to slow down the dragon from wrecking its own throne room. Pillars and walls crumbled one by one. The entire place was coming down. That diamantine dome tilted over and came crashing down. Z and his team casted an instant warping spell on all of us and got us out of the collapsing Demon Lord''s Fortress. YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY As soon as we warped out of the collapsing Fortress, the dragon took the opportunity to conjure a level 9000 spell as soon as nobody kept him checked with . My entire team had put all of our effort on the defensive end to keep the entire force alive. Even Z''s team and team A had to stop what they were doing to conjure all sort of defensive spells within their arsenal, barely weathered through the rain of fire and destruction. "Puny rats, do you think that I have done nothing while waiting for you? Behold, this is the Ever-rock, I used it to prevent myself from evolving." The dragon grandiosely crushed the item within its hand. "And this is Ambrosia. I will consume this and gain 1000 levels. Then I will evolve into¡guh" It staggered and groaned. A boulder at the size of an elephant flew straight at the dragon''s torso. The dragon looked down at us with widened eyes. The thought that us Heroes would attack it while it was trying to level up and transform must have never crossed its mind. It was like someone has casted on all of us, the dragon and us Heroes. I turned and looked at the perpetrator of the awkward silence. "Just to be sure. We can attack right?" Desgia sweated and gingery asked in a quiet voice while 29 pairs of eyes beamed at his figure. He was the person who launched that boulder. "Actually, just let him evolve." Z shouted into the open telepathic channel shared among our raiding force. His message confused the heck out of everybody. "What?" "Are you sure?" "Are you on weed or what?" "Wait what? Are we supposed to wait and let him become even stronger?" Everybody just typed whatever came to their mind. Those guys on the parallel Earth series worlds spammed the entire communication channel with the confused Nick Young meme. Before long, the entire channel was filled with spams and emoji. "No, however, this time, it''s different. Just let that stupid lizard evolve for god sake." Z scratched his head and ended all the discussion, typing his message in all capital letters. Half of the raid force clutched their head, staring back and forth between Z and the three headed Demon Lord. "Sorry for the etiquette. Please go on and evolve. We will wait," I told the Demon Lord, breaking the awkward silence. "You promise that you would not attack me while I''m doing that?" The dragon inquired. Its face shrouded with doubts. I don''t blame the dragon for being doubtful. That''s a natural reaction. "You can have my word," I said, "Go on, have that Ambrosia and evolve. We will wait." I confirmed. "You swear?" the dragon was still full of doubt. "Just hurry the fuck up. I don''t have time to stay here all day and chat with you. If you planned to chew on that Ambrosia or whatever and evolve, hurry up. If you don''t, we will resume this fucking fight. My schedule is packed," I snapped, thudding the pair of great shields on my hand against the ground. A crater formed around me due to the weight of the shields. The dragon nodded its three heads, "I will trust your¡" "Hurry the fuck up and stop talking," I impatiently cut in. The dragon tossed the Ambrosia into its mouth and it started to convulse. The semi- transparent level indicator on its head started to soar. In an instance, the Demon Lord''s level went up to five digits. "Oooh this is power. I''m filled with power," the Demon Lord completed its first evolution, turning into a Super Demon Lord. The number of heads attached to its torso tripled. "I''m not done yet," it bellowed and convulsed again. The nine heads dragon began to shine like a light bulb, evolving once again. It became a Supreme Demon Lord, growing in size. It was at the size of a 60 meters building before, now, it was the size of a mountain. Its wings darken the sky and casted a massive shadow on the ground. The dragon cackled and convulsed again."Ooooh, I''m overflowing with power," It shed its scale this time, shrinking in size and attained a humanoid shape. "Hurry the fuck up," I internally cursed the dragon, impatiently tapping my feet. "What the fuck are you? Frieza?" "How many forms does he have?" The guys from the parallel Earth series flooded the telepathic channel again. The Supreme Demon Lord has evolved into a Demon Demi God. Three pairs of leathery bat wings sprouted out of its back. It has shrunk to the size of a hill giant around three meters in height. "This is not even my finally form yet," the Demon Lord laughed and once again convulsed, shrinking even further to the size of a human. Its three pair of leathery wings shrunk to match its size. A dark armory exoskeleton appeared and covered its entire body. A pitch black halo appeared above its head and the Demon Lord has finally attained the title of a Draconic Demon God. "Feast your eyes upon my magnificent form, puny rats, for I am your Undoer," the creature laughed, flapping its three pairs of wings and spreading its muscular arms proudly. It released an oppressive invisible pressure, forcing every single person on my raiding force to buckle to their knees. "All yours Naf," Z told me via the telepathic channel and I nodded my head, snapping my fingers. The space around the newly evolved Demon God twisted and a multitude amount of red ropes appeared, chaining the creature. "Do you think these puny ropes of yours could bind me? Watch this, rats." The Demon God bellowed and fought back. "What the fuck are these things? Why can''t I tear them?" "Struggle all you can fool," I internally cursed the creature. Those Anti-Divinity cables of mine would not be broken by the strength of a mere Demon God. The Draconic Demon God stared at me, struggling to break free of the binding ropes. It then switched its strategy, using its newly attained power instead "Thou shall fall before¡" "Oops," I snapped my fingers again, the space distorted and a total of thirteen swords of light appeared, impaling the bounded Demon God. "¡before me." The Demon God stared at me, confused. Its conceptual words of power did not activate. "Why can''t I use my power?" It growled, "What are these things?" It then tried to use a multitude of different words of power. "Those who defy me, Die," "Disintegrate." "Burn." The confused Demon God tried to weave all sort of words of power and none of them worked. "Stop trying. Your power won''t work," I stopped the creature from wasting its effort on a futile endeavor and my time. My swords of sealing light are capable of negating thedivine power of any god. "Lies. What have you done to me? Why can''t I use my power?" the creature bellowed, still struggling to break free of the ropes. "This is your final chance. Revoke your seed of destruction and surrender or die." I gave the creature my final warning. I don''t have to explain to the creature anything about my power. "Stop kidding with me puny rats," The newborn Demon God bellowed, struggling even fiercer. It tried to conjure all manners of spells and conceptual words of power in a futile effort. "Your choice," I sighed exasperatedly and manifested the anti-Divinity gun within my hand, "I''m firing muh lazer. Any last word?" I asked. The Demon God helplessly struggled and then it looked at me with eyes full of hatred. "I hate you,puny...." it cursed. I nodded and fired my gun, erasing the creature from its miserable existence. The battle ended in the most anti-climactic note, just the norm for me. I stood and offered the creature a one minute of silence to honor it. My companions on the other hand were high-fiving each other, rallying their victory cry. A few of them entered the praise-the-sun stance. Z was boasting his seniority''s knowledge, "See that? That''s the power of a moron who invested all of his perks into anti-Divinity." The moment the <24-hours no return> status disappeared, I quickly teleported back to the tropical island on Galaxyfarfaraway, leaving the all the unfinished businesses to Z. Galaxyfarfaraway was just a minute away from being destroyed. Chapter 4: The peculiar case of Hero No. 001 Voohoo Dialac Chapter 4: The peculiar case of Hero No. 001 Voohoo Dialac ¡°Help!¡± A telepathic message was sent to the 13 founding members of the Companion of Justice. ¡°What happen?¡± Hero No. 013 Nafla Summer was the first to reply to the message. He was the only one who was currently not on a special duty. Soon the special channel that was shared among the thirteen of the original Heroes of the Companion of Justice was flooded with the same question, ¡°What happened?¡± ¡°I give up,¡± Hero No. 001 replied, adding the crying emoji at the end of his message. He was the person who sent the telepathic message to the Thirteen. ¡°What?¡± Nafla freaked out immediately. His wife was peacefully asleep next to him, snoring rhythmically. He closed his mouth and discreetly left the room, entering the bathroom, locking the door, and replying to the message, ¡°Slow down brother, tell us what happened to you.¡± ¡°Hang on, wait, what? WTF, let me defeat this Demon Lord first.¡± Hero No.002 immediately replied via an audio message. ¡°Me too, don¡¯t do anything stupid. Wait, I will help you after I defeat my Demon Lord,¡± Hero No.003 shouted out with urgency. ¡°Woaa, calm the fuck down and tell us what happened.¡± Hero No.004 typed. ¡°Wait. What kind of Demon God are you fighting against?¡± Hero No. 010 asked. ¡°Don¡¯t do anything stupid. You are not alone,¡± Hero No. 012 replied. He was the closest to No.001 among the Thirteen. Soon the entire channel was flooded with encouraging messages for Hero No. 001 ¡°I just can¡¯t do this anymore,¡± Hero No.001 continued, ignoring all the encouragement from his friends. ¡°Chill the fuck down Voo,¡± Nafla sent his audio message as soon as he could. He had no idea what kind of foes that Voohoo Dialact the No.001 of the company is fighting against that he became like this. ¡°Suicide won¡¯t solve anything.¡± No. 012 shouted. ¡°Calm down, V.¡± ¡°Just hang on for three minute. I am using my ultimate on the Demon Lord. Don¡¯t do anything stupid.¡± No. 002 replied. ¡°Who said anything about killing myself?¡± V typed, all in capital. ¡°What?¡± the same message flooded the entire channel. Nafla sighed out in relief. If Voohoo had enough energy to type his message in capital letters in situation like this, he won¡¯t kill himself. Suicide is a common occurrence within the company and that is especially true with the Ascended Heroes who has managed to become Immortal. There are many reasons that lead to such tragic end for Heroes, for instance, boredom, depression, addiction, marriage, etc¡ However, stress is easily the biggest and most common factor among all the factors. Among all the suicide cases that happened to the Heroes of the company, the lover suicide of Hero No.014 Romeo and the Demon Lord Juliet, who he was supposed to dispatch, became a phenomenon within the company for tons of reasons. Since, the number 014 was retired and no Hero was allowed to inherit that number. It¡¯s not easy to be a Hero. ¡°Voo, calm down and slowly explain yourself. If you don¡¯t speak, we cannot help you,¡± Nafla told, finally coming to himself. He was so freak out a moment ago, thinking that No.001 was about to kill himself. ¡°Yes, V. Take your time and speak to us,¡± No. 012 added. The channel slowly overflowed with the encouraging words for No. 001 to come out and tell everyone of his story. YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY I bombed the channel with a depressed emoji, having no word to say after listening to Voo¡¯s story. I have finally understood why Voo was so angry and depressed at the same time. Voo was summoned to the Shroom Dimension #30061 to dispatch a Demon Lord by none other than the creator and owner of that Dimension. He was a God and the leader of the Pantheon of the Shroom Dimension. The Gods explained to Voo that a powerful Demon Lord has plagued their dimension and they could do nothing against that. After that, he offered Voo the sword of the Hero to combat the Demon Lord, but Voo declined anyway since he has collected over millions of those. He also turned down the prospect of any god and goddess to join his party to dispatch the Demon Lord since they are more likely to slow him down. After that, it was the usual .Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site. After 23 hours, Voo managed to locate the Demon Lord castle and flattened it with a Level 10,000 magic spell. He felt the vanished presence of the Demon Lord. Just when he thought he was done with the case, he received an anonymous telepathic message from an untraceable source, ¡°Dear Hero, your Demon Lord is in another castle. Better luck next time.¡± Voo was confused, but he resumed his search for the Demon Lord. This time, he was lucky. He managed to track down the Demon Lord castle within 2 hours. It was the same Demon Lord castle he has just destroyed. Again, with a Level 10,000 magic spell, he leveled an entire Demon Lord castle. Again, he felt the vanished presence of the Demon Lord. Again, he was informed, ¡°Dear Hero, your Demon Lord is in another castle. Better luck next time.¡± After that, Voo destroyed no less than 30 Demon Lord castles in similar manner. Still, he received the same telepathic message from an untraceable source, ¡°Dear Hero, your Demon Lord is in another castle. Better luck next time.¡± It was the same message all over again. He started to ditch the idea of destroying the Demon Lord with the castle, thinking that maybe the Demon Lord possessed a special skill that allowed him to cheat dead. Voo challenged the Demon Lord castle just like the time he was a newbie Hero, fighting through hordes of demons, traps and dungeons, and finally reaching the Demon Lord. Voo scanned the Demon Lord, did not see any special skill that would allow him to revive. He erased the Demon Lord while the bastard was grandiosely conducting his Demon Lord¡¯s etiquette speech to Hero. Again, he received the same telepathic message, ¡°Dear Hero, your Demon Lord is in another castle. Better luck next time.¡± Voo repeated the same procedure again for ten more times until he had enough. He came back to meet the Gods and demanded an explanation from them. They replied that they had the same problem dealing with that Demon Lord. No matter how many times they destroyed the Demon Lord, the bastard revived. Thus, they had to summon Voo to deal with the problem. After that, Voo spent weeks, trying to hunt down the bastard, experimenting with different methods of dispatching him. He took time to study the Demon Lord, though, the arrogant bastard kept repeating his lines before attacking Voo. Even Voo could not understand why the bastard has nothing else other than repeating his introduction lines over and over again every single time they met. It was like he has no other line to say. As soon as the Demon Lord finished his lines, he would attack Voo and immediately die due to the unique reflection attribute of Voo. Again and again, the Demon Lord kept dying from the reflection of his own attack. He kept committing suicide in the same manner over and over and over again. It was as if the bastard had a death wish or too stupid to learn. Again and again, he revived. Again and again, Voo received the telepathic message ¡°Dear Hero, your Demon Lord is in another castle. Better luck next time.¡± Then, weeks became months and months turned into a year. Voo gave up on his usual method and developed a cheating system to kill the undying bugger. He weaved countless words of power together to automatically kill the little bugger every time the bugger revives. Then, his head was overflown with a universe of spams ¡°Dear Hero, your Demon Lord is in another castle. Better luck next time.¡± That message came into his head non-stop, ceaseless and endless, until it bugged out. He could only hear the word ¡°Dear¡± repeated over and over again inside his head. Voo could take it no further. He demolished the cheating system he painstakingly created. ¡°Dear Hero, your Demon Lord is in another castle. Better luck next time.¡± The bastard is still alive. Voo could not kill him and thus the message ¡°Help¡± on the channel. I think I would have gone insane if I was in the same position as Voo. He was a fucking hero for being able to stick with his job for an entire year. ¡°Brother, just take a day off to relax. You need a break.¡± I suggested, thinking that I might have to end my honeymoon sooner than I have expected. ¡°And therapy as well,¡± No. 012 added. Then, No. 003¡¯s telepathic message broke the channel. ¡°Have you tried destroying that dimension? Maybe that Demon Lord would not come back after that? Ps: I was again for a different case. How many times is it? Give me a break.¡± ¡°What?¡± I was completely stupefied by the message. ¡°V, absolutely do not do that,¡± No. 012 immediately followed, typing the message in all capital letters. ¡°Woa, hang on, are you sure you are a Hero?¡± ¡°What the fuck is this insane woman suggesting?¡± ¡°That¡¯s a Demon Lord¡¯s thing to do.¡± ¡°Can someone check the past record of her works? We might have a Fallen Hero among us.¡± Everyone expressed his or her doubt for No. 003¡¯s sanity. They thought that he stress must have done her in. ¡°V, don¡¯t listen to that deranged woman. I have killed my Demon Lord. Send me your coordination, I will teleport to¡. Ah¡.What have you done to me, bastards? Why must you summon me at a time like this?¡± This time it was No. 002. His screamed split my head and probably everyone else who was listening. The poor bastard was so shocked that he leaked that information into the channel by accident. ¡°Hahahahahaha¡± I heard Voo¡¯s laughing voice. He doesn¡¯t sound okay to me. ¡°Voo?¡± I asked. ¡°Hahahahaha,¡± he laughed again. He sounded like a broken man. ¡°Voo?¡± I asked nervously, no longer having the time to type, sending an audio message. ¡°V?¡± No. 012 asked. ¡°Hahahahaha, I will kill them all,¡± Voo muttered. ¡°Fuck,¡± I cursed and so did No.012. No. 012 immediately asked another Hero within the company to take over his case and teleported to where Voo is. I, on the other hand, woke my wife up, kowtowing to her, explaining the situation to her. My honeymoon ended shortly just like that. It¡¯s never easy to be a Hero.
