《heroes,monster and mistakes》
a new day, a new world
As usual I walk to school with my friends, mike your usual weird but likeable guy, leo the guy who tries to hard and george, the one who is with us without a good reason but we like him anyways.
As we walk to school chatting about everything and anything that goes through our mind, from games to stories and the ocasional crush (mike we know about zoe). We reach our class and wait for the teacher to arrive as the rest of the class slowly comes in and makes more and more noise.If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
The class starts and I slowly lose any will to stay awake, and let go... or at least that was the plan.
A bright flash of light (no shit?) comes out of nowhere and we find ourselves in some kind of forest, what is happening.
| Welcome to the world of rilllaz, please wait while a new race and class are randomly chosen for you. |
WAIT,WHAT?!
rebirth and rekindled hatred
{Congratulations, your randomly chosen race is "Slime", your randomly chosen class is "Devourer".}
What?
{Due to the incredible changes in the shape of your form, you will be left unconscious for an unknown duration.}
WHAT?
"WAIT A MOMENT WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING!"
I lose consciousness at the same time as others from my class, just have to hope the others won''t abandon us here to be eaten or something.
Timeskip because I''m a lazy bum
I wake up from this bout of unconsciousness wich lasted who knows how long to see...
That I''m alone, everyone left, nothing that looks even remotely alive is around me.
Wait, I''m a slime now soooo, how can I see?
{Slimes are monsters that are very in tune with mana, as such, hiding from them is nigh impossible due to them "seeing" with the use of mana itself, making them a surprisingly dangerous foe at times.}
Thank you for the random bout of information about my species... whatever you are... system or gods doesn''t matter, I like you either way, seems like you gave me common knowledge for slimes and the basics of what I can do, for exemple.
I proceed to use the ONLY power that comes with my class on a piece of rather large wood nearby.This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Report any appearances on Amazon.
[DEVOUR]
I don''t know how to explain it but, it''s kinda like doing that makes me a bit more "whole" in a way, also
{DEVOUR has been used on a large piece of wood, user obtains [Bark generation] and [photosynthesis], user has become more in tune with nature, this may intervene with evolution later on}
First things first, there are no limits on how many times I can do this, and it costs nothing, unlike magic wich would require mana, I just gained 2 skills from a single use on something as trivial as a piece of wood, and, EVOLUTION, I can evolve, from slime to possibly a variant of sort, that''s it here is the plan.
1. Abuse [DEVOUR] to get as many skills as possible.
2. Evolve into some kind of nightmare inducing monster.
3. PROFIT.
I like this plan, let''s keep using [DEVOUR] on everything we see until we find something that''s alive.
You know... I said something that''s alive buuuuut, an undead works too.
I walked (slid, rolled, slimed?) my way to what appears to be a small group of undead, now, that''s where your typical protagonist would destroy those "unholy wretches" buuuuut.
[DEVOUR]
I''m just not like that, they are just a few more skills to add to my collection.
{User has used [DEVOUR], user has obtained the skills [summon lesser undead], [cursed eyes] and [infection], user has become more in tune with undead and cursed mana, this may influence evolution.}
Yeah I get it already, you kept saying that for the last several hours I get it, can we keep it to only giving me the skills, thank you.
{Understood}
Wait, I didn''t expect that, anything else I should be made aware of?
{Due to [cursed eyes], you will go through changes to your form (eyes), as such, you will made unconscious}
Shit.
As I lose consciousness for the second time in such a short period of time, I can''t help but think of one, simple, thing...
Or, more like wonder one single thing.
Just how fickle is friendship?
Eyes and curses...everywhere...and POWER
I wake up again from my system induced lack of consciousness to find out, I can now see again, and let me say this right now, you don''t miss sight nearly enough until you get it back.
I make use of my being a slime to manipulate my body in order to finally see what I look like and the result is... unsettling.
What I see is a classic blue slime covered in purple eyes... also, I''m quite a bit bigger than I thought, as in I''m the size of the trees in this forest, and boy is it weird, I used to think that I was fat back in our world but look at me now...
Anyways, I go around the forest some more, going deeper and deeper inside, growing bigger and bigger as I unintentionally devour everything in my path, growing more and more powerful.
-Human king POV-
While waiting for the otherworlders to arrive in the throne room I look once more on the report I got from the scouts and rangers in the forgotten forest, normally a slime isn''t something I would worry about, but, this one... it''s different, it''s way bigger than any slimes we have ever heard of, I have no other choice than to ask for their help, they are competent, I''m not worried about that, but they are a proud bunch, that is dangerous.This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
As they finally enter the throne room I decide to begin speaking and explaining before they start becoming a pain in my ass.
"otherworlders, I have called you here due to recent sightings of a slime in the forgotten forest, this slime is a size that is unheard of... it can currently be seen from outside the forest, and it visibly grows bigger and bigger, leaving not even mana behind as it eats everything in it''s path. We are worried that it may also be growing more powerful... it''s not that we want your help...but we NEED your help."
"We need you to destroy... the slime overlord."
Luke POV
You know, I could really get used to this, apparently the whole [cursed eyes] thing makes so that anything that stares into my eyes is paralized, most likely in fear, and I have eyes everywhere, you look at me, and you can''t move anymore for about 30 seconds from what I have seen. there is op, then there is this shit.
sooooo, a few days have passed and finally, finally it''s here.
{You are now able to evolve, here are your possible choices
-Slime overlrod
-Slime humanoid
-Slime nature devourer
-Slime cursed ruler
-Slime divinity}
The choices, wich one to take, they are all interesting as far as I am aware FUCK!
Do I WANT to be knocked unconscious again, it''s been a couple days and I have been waiting for evolution for a long time.
a new God, a false threat and the downfall of a God
I have made my choice, this day is to be marked as that of the rise of a new god, this day is to be remembered
I choose to become the Slime divinity.
{Congratulations on achieving Godhood, you are to become the God of Slimes, liquids and Hatred... for you are now known, as Sl''ier''is, the devouring God}
{May this day be remembered as the rise to Godhood of Sl''ier''is, the devouring God of Slimes, liquids and Hatred.}
Okay, I''m gonna take it that this is a world announcement of sort and that Sl''ier''is is my new name, or would it be some kind of God specific name, like a name that is only used in God related business... probably the latter, also, it sounds suspiciously like an attempt at an eldritch name... pathetic much.
*yeah, laugh all you want I didn''t know what else to name him*This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it
Anyways, Godhood comes with a shitload of skills apparently, but, most importantly now I can do this.
I separate tiny chunks of my body and will life into them, essentially going against the actual nature of Slimes themselves in this world to create new ones, I decided to name these one [theological slimes].
I send them outside the forest and across the world, trying to unite the Slimes of the world in this forest, a safe haven of sort for them.
a few months have passed and the world seems to have missunderstood my actions, I have been branded as an evil God my mortals, though the other Gods understand my actions, they cannot interfere with the mortal world as much as I can, most races do not have a God that represents them, and the few who do have been enslaved by humans and other races out of fear, branding them as heretics.
Oh how much I HATE those actions, they are sending troops after troops against me, they even sent my former classmates, they did not give a lot of skills, but it felt good to rid the world of these pests, humans, elves, orcs, you name it, it''s against me and my people, I don''t understand WHY they act like this, if they stopped acting out of fear the world would be so much better...
...If only they were more like my Slimes...
To rule a forest...
That''s it! I just have to make them more like my Slimes.
I use [Infection], and find myself "holding" a weird blob, I slowly insert it in one of my [Theological slimes], unsure of the result, kinda afraid of the possible result actually. And that''s when it happens.
[Infectious slimes], Slimes that can "corrupt" in a way their victims by mutating parts of the body of said victims (most often the nerves and brain as well as a few limbs) into a [parasitic slime] that takes on the role of whatever it replaced, or whatever it covers.
I essentially made a zombie infection, the main differences is that instead of zombies, we got slimes slowly but surely taking over the area.
I send the [Infectious slimes] to "corrupt" the rest of the forest, at first, a couple rabbits, wolves, nothing major. Then we start going into monster territory, Goblins, Gnolls, Ogres and all that shit.
As if we weren''t infectious enough, we started spreading to birds, fishes... and even plantlife, trees covered in [parasitic slimes]. It gives the forest a somewhat eerie, if relaxing atmosphere, we like it, it feels a lot more like our home, like we belong here and no one else.You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
The Elf kingdom, in nearby forest, doesn''t appreciate what we are doing, they do not realise that we are making everything fearless, beautiful...perfect, predators and preys living in harmony, without ever needing to eat, sleep, or even think, as we take those burdens away, we allow them to live a more peaceful existence... why can they not see that.
No, maybe they DO see that, and are merely jealous of them, they desire to have an existence as peaceful as the one we grant our numerous hosts, they long to be freed from the shackles of mortality, and we can help them with this desire, we can answer those desires the other Gods ignore.
A few elves lost in our home, it is a good start, let us take it slow, a take over their brain, leave no phisical proof of our presence on them, and then, we will visit the elf kingdom, slowly granting them their wish for a peaceful life without burdens, so long as their desires for it does not disappear, we shall not leave.
We can see the forest of their kingdom, we enter it and are greeted by their guards, folls who think they can detect our presence, we enter, and so we start to grant their wishes.
And so it begins, and so our work is now forever demonized.
a kingdom for the slimes
As we enter this kingdom as they keep on calling it, we immediatly start spreading through the less careful elves around us, nobles who think themselves above consequences, orphans unfortunate enough to not have crossed our path earlier, and the random joe schmoe that passes by, we keep it slow though, we cannot arouse suspicions just yet, we must take it slowly.
Following the memories of our elven hosts, we go to their "home(s)", infecting their famillies, allowing them to be joined in perfection, forever in a state of bliss and fearlessness, from here, we start infecting the neighbors, and educational facilities the children attend, we spread quickly in this one outer village as other infected go on their way to other villages and cities to infect others.
The infection is incredibly fast when taking over a village, but taking over an entire kingdom, especially one as vast as the elven kingdom, is much slower, more difficult to see, and yet, the moment we are seen, is the moment we become the most dangerous force they will ever face, as imperfect beings.Did you know this text is from a different site? We spread, faster than any plague could hope to spread, and yet, not nearly as deadly as a lone goblin, from a village, to cities, to entire social classes, commoners, slaves, nobles, they have all joined us in perfection, the royalty of this kingdom is unaware of our presence, as we start with their maids and butlers, watch as they join us.
We will admit it, the king and queen were harder to infect than we thought, the king and his constant paranoia was a big problem to deal with, refusing to let anyone other than his queen anywhere near him, they could afford to do it, they are surpsisingly powerful compared to their guards.
But the queen... not so much. She was only troublesome because of how strong her mind is, she is the one I am most worried about, it took a lot to infect her and she could break out of our control at any moment, I do not know why she would do this, but she could, We need to work more on how to infect those lesser beings and most importantly how to keep them under our control.
Next we should go after the Beastpeople, their senses being better than those of other species make them our biggest threat as of now, Humans are average at best and incredibly weal minded compared to other species, Orcs only focus on pure strenght meaning we can VERY easily take care of them.
