《Endless Possibilities》 Chapter 1: Where am I Jason awoke to the sounds of grasshoppers rubbing their legs against their wings. The sound was both distant and at the same time near. Jason slowly fought to open his eyes, but his drowsiness overpowered his senses lulling him back to sleep. ¡°Wake up buddy,¡± Jason heard a nasally sounding voice close to his ears asking him to wake up. Thinking it was part of his dream, he casually shrugged it off. ¡°Wake up buddy,¡± Jason heard the same voice a few octaves higher. Jason was starting to get annoyed, he just wanted to sleep. ¡°Wake up buddy,¡± Jason head the voice again right in his ears. Without thinking he swatted at the voice by his ear. SLAP! Was the sudden sound he heard before everything went silent. Jason felt something getting up and a sudden kick to his ribs. He groaned from the pain and had no choice but to open his eyes. At first, he couldn¡¯t make out anything the darkness was too much for his eyes. He waited until his eyes adjusted before looking at who kicked him. He was greeted with the sight of a slightly chubby dude. He had a goofy innocence about him that made you want to be his friend. ¡°Are you awake now¡± ¡°Huh¡ Where am I? Why am I on the ground? Who are you?¡± ¡°I¡¯m not sure where we are. I¡¯ve been walking around the forest for a couple hours now and you are the first person that I¡¯ve seen so far. As for why you are on the ground uhm I¡¯m not so sure. When I woke up I was also on the ground, so your guess is as good as mines. Uhm my names is Chubby, Chubby brown.¡± While hearing Chubby talk Jason sat up and looked around him trying to get an idea of where he was. The trees around him were blocking most of the moonlight from coming through. So, Jason field of vision was limited. The only things he could make out where the rhythmic swaying of the tree leaves above him, a limited amount of moonlight, Chubby and an endless number of trees. The last thing Jason remembered was blowing off his school work to watch some random shows on the internet. When he had finally remembered he had an exam coming he tried to cram as much knowledge into his head as possible. Suddenly around midnight he heard this soothing sound coming out from his bedroom window. He got up to check who was making that sound. He opened the latches on the window and looked outside. There was nothing there and the sound had suddenly stopped. Bewildered and tired he thought nothing of it at the time. He slowly closed the window still trying to find some clues. He found nothing out of the ordinary and decided to leave it alone. He rationalized that he was just overly tired and paranoid. Stepping away from the window Jason jumped back into cramming for his upcoming exam. But while closing the window he forgot to close the latches. A few moments later the soothing sound came back. Jason thought nothing of it and started unconsciously humming to the rhythm. The unlatched window started to move up ever so slowly. Every time the window went up the stronger the soothing sound effected Jason. Unknowingly Jason was humming himself to sleep. When he finally noticed he was getting drowsy it was already to late. His face hit the desk while he fell into a deep sleep. The next thing he remembered was trying to open his eyes, but not being able to and falling back to sleep. Then was finally awaken by Chubby¡¯s nasally voice close to his ears. Looking around him, he began to wonder what the soothing sound was and where did it come from. Most importantly how did he end up in the middle of nowhere in a forest of all places. Was he kidnapped and brought here for the sick enjoyment of others. He couldn¡¯t remember making any enemies. He was just an ordinary fellow trying to get somewhere with his life. ¡°Puzzling very puzzling,¡± He thought to himself. ¡°Hey buddy, are you listening? Who are you?¡± ¡°Huh¡ Oh I¡¯m Jason King.¡± GROWL! Jason heard his stomach growling. He hadn¡¯t eaten anything for a long time and was starting to get hungry. He looked up at chubby to see if he heard the growl. ¡°Are you hungry? I heard your stomach growling. Now that I think about it I¡¯m hungry too. I haven¡¯t eaten anything since I came here.¡± There came Jason answer. Chubby did hear his stomach growling. He was slightly embarrassed and blushed as a result. Ignoring his embarrassment, he asked Chubby did he have some food on him. Chubby shook his head and emptied out his pockets for emphasis. Great Jason thought they were both hungry and there wasn¡¯t anything in sight to eat. Plus, it was night time so trying to find something to eat was practically out of the picture. Just in case he missed something Jason tried checking his pockets to see if he had any chocolates. As he already knew there wasn¡¯t anything in his pockets before he checked, it was still disappointing to find his pockets empty. Both people having nothing to eat became quiet. They stared at each other before staring into the dark forest. Nothing was there other than the sounds the crickets were making. Having nothing to talk about the creepiness of the forest became more apparent. Chubby finally got tired of standing up for the moment and sat next to Jason. Jason looked at him before turning away. The relative quietness was deafening.Love this story? Find the genuine version on the author''s preferred platform and support their work! GROWL! GROWL! Both of their stomachs growled at the same time. They both looked at their stomachs before looking at each other. They started chuckling at each others misfortune. Their chucking was the icebreaker they needed to start socializing again. They started talking about their lives before this incident. They talked about what they use to do, their hobbies, girlfriends and other miscellaneous boy talk to pass the time. By talking they found out they were the same age and were going to the same college. The more they talked the friendlier they were getting, and the faster time seemed to pass by. They would have kept talking until they heard their stomachs growling again. ¡°Maybe we should look around to find something to eat,¡± suggested Chubby. They decided to look in the diameter of fifty feet around them. It was to late into the night to look any further. Chubby took the left side while Jason took the right side. Looking around Jason saw trees of varying sizes spread around. There were trees ranging from a foot thick to five feet thick and bigger. The more Jason looked around the more mystifying he found the forest to be. Being a city boy, this was the first time being surrounded by so many varieties of trees. He touched the barks of the trees to find some bark rough and some smooth. He found out the trees that seemed rough were actually the smooth ones and vice versa. The further out he walked the more diverse the trees became. Finding everything novel he touched and prodded. There was one tree that he found the most interesting. One second the tree was rough and the next it was smooth. He tried knocking on the tree to find it hard as stones. The more he looked, the more he was starting to think maybe they weren¡¯t on earth. He wasn¡¯t a tree expert, but a tree that could change its textures that fast wasn¡¯t one he was familiar with. Getting caught up and his discoveries he almost forgot the true reason he was looking into the forest in the first place. He stopped with his fascination and became serious for finding food to eat. He tried looking up, but none of the trees were short enough for him to take a good look at. The only place suitable for him to look at was the ground he was standing on. Every step Jason took from there on he payed attention to the ground and its surroundings. He took caution for possible bugs and insects. To his surprise he didn¡¯t stumble into any bugs at all not even spider webs. He also didn¡¯t find any food. Jason started drifting around and before he knew it he was past the twenty feet diameter previously set. Not knowing that he passed the point set he kept walking and walking. When he turned back to see if Chubby was still near by he became lost. Not wanting to panic he tried retracing his steps, but it was pretty much impossible to. When he was walking it wasn¡¯t in a straight line and all the trees looked familiar to one another. Seeing that retracing his steps wasn¡¯t working he got closer to the forest floor to look at his previous foot prints. When he got close enough to the ground he saw that everywhere he stepped was going back to their previous untouched states. Every second that passed the ground was raising back up and leveling. It was like the forest was a living breathing creature. While fascinating it was pretty dangerous without any markers to retrace his steps being lost was a sure thing. If you added not finding any food in the surroundings to the list this forest wasn¡¯t a place you should ever step foot into. This place was starting to feel like a beautiful but forbidden forest. Jason took a deep breath and slowly breathed out. Nothing good would happen from losing his composure and Jason knew it. Standing up Jason brushed the dirt off his knees and looked around. He was trying to find something, anything that he remembered seeing while walking. Nothing registered in his brain. Everything was starting to look the same and the more he looked the smaller the distinctions became. It was like the forest was intentionally messing with his brain and urging him to stay lost. Jason started to feel like the forest was closing in and was trying to swallow him whole. He shook his head and took another deep breath. That one breath soothed his mind and the paranoia started to disappear. Knowing that Chubby shouldn¡¯t be to far from him reassured him. He just had to pick a direction and follow it. He closed his eyes, brought one of his hands up and pointed. He stood still like that for ten seconds before he started to spin in place. He counted to three before coming to a complete stop. He opened his eyes and looked at where he was pointing and went the opposite direction. This wasn¡¯t a rational decision, but with every direction looking the same it wasn¡¯t like picking one rationally would work any better. As for going the opposite direction of where he was pointing it was a spit second decision and it felt right. He started walking following the direction he choose. When trees got in his way he walked around them getting back on path to the direction he choose. While walking for thirty seconds he was starting to doubt his decision. Nothing he passed by was something he remembered and was starting to feel he was walking for too long. Jason walked for another ten seconds before he decided to stop. He leaned against a random tree for support. He needed time to think. Randomly walking around wasn¡¯t as effective as he hoped for. While leaning into the tree his hand touched the bark. The texture changed from being smooth to being rough. He took a step away from the tree and turned to look at it. From an appearance perspective it looked like any other tree in the surrounding, but when being touched Jason was able to see the difference. His mind started operating at full speed. ¡°Maybe this is the tree from earlier and me picking a random direction wasn¡¯t ludicrous,¡± Jason thought. To make sure he found the right place he kept his eyes on the texture changing tree and felt the textures of the surrounding trees just in case. From feeling the different textures of the surrounding trees, he didn¡¯t find one as special as the texture changing one from earlier. Just when he thought he found his destination close to the Chubby he felt another tree with the texture changing characteristic. Stomped was all Jason was feeling right now. He felt his conjecture was false and maybe he was lost. ¡°Jasssonnn, where are you buddy. I found some mushrooms and they seem eatable. Where are you.¡± As he was starting to lose hope of finding Chubby he heard Chubbys nasally voice. Jason couldn¡¯t be any happier to hear that distinctive voice. It felt like he saw the light at the end of a dark tunnel. Chapter 2: Mushrooms ¡°I¡¯m around the corner, you don¡¯t have to look for me I¡¯m going to come to you,¡± replied Jason after catching his bearings. Jason tidied hisself up. There was no need to show Chubby that he was distraught. When he finished tiding up his clothes he followed the direction he heard Chubby¡¯s voice was coming from. It took him around thirty steps to get to Chubby. Looking back Jason found out that the direction he was following earlier was practically right and was only a bit off. If he had kept on walking, he would have eventually found Chubby. ¡°Where were you, I looked around our agreement and I couldn¡¯t find you.¡± ¡°Sorry, I was looking for food before I was distracted by the trees and before I knew it I had already wondered off from our fifty feet restriction.¡± Chubby waved off my mistake before asking, ¡°did you find any food when you were wandering about?¡± ¡°Nope, didn¡¯t find anything other than trees. You said you found some mushrooms are they edible?¡± ¡°I don¡¯t know if they are edible, but you could look if you want.¡± Chubby finished talking to Jason and gestured for him to follow him. It took them fifteen to twenty seconds to get to their destination. If there weren¡¯t as many trees in their way on top of having to go around them it would have taken them ten seconds or less to get there. Reaching their destination Chubby stopped and pointed to where he found the mushrooms. At first Jason wasn¡¯t clear at what Chubby was pointing at. All he saw was darkness. Most of the moonlight was being blocked by the trees in the surrounding making the visibility of small things nearly impossible. Chubby was able to understand that Jason wasn¡¯t able to see the mushrooms being pointed at by the clueless look on his face. With that hint in mind Chubby decided to get closer to the mushrooms before he showing it to Jason. Jason followed Chubby¡¯s example and knelt done beside him. Chubby moved to the side to give Jason more room to see the mushrooms. That was when Jason saw a cluster of mushrooms. There were about six to eight of them in total. The mushrooms were white all over without a speck of dust on them. It looked almost similar to an average white mushroom. Jason also saw the mushrooms weren¡¯t the same sizes and their luster weren¡¯t the same. The smallest one in Jason estimate was three times the normal size of a regular white mushroom and the biggest one had a size about five to six times bigger than the average mushroom. In comparison their sizes had a correlation to their luster. The bigger the mushroom was the brighter the luster. Jason came closer to the mushrooms to take a quick sniff. The mushrooms gave off a sweet smell similar to that of freshly pealed pineapples. The closer Jasons nose got to the mushrooms the sweeter the smell became. The smell was extremely intoxicating, it drew you in and made you let go of your inhibitions. Just when Jason nose was about to touch the mushroom Chubby pulled him back. ¡°Huh¡ What¡ Oh my bad,¡± said Jason after seeing what he did wrong. The smell was just to great for him to handle. When Jason first tried to smell the mushrooms, he thought they would have an earthy woody smell, but to his surprise that wasn¡¯t the case. The smell reminded him of a fruit, a pineapple to be exact. The aroma it gave off was a level higher than the smell of the sweetest pealed pineapple. His mouth started to water at the thought of tasting the heavenly smelling mushrooms. When Jason felt himself unconsciously licking his lips he knew he was going to far. Jason shook his head to snap out of it and turned to Chubby. He saw Chubby was in the same daze as he was. Chubby was rubbing his hands and licking his lips. Jason chuckled to hisself he wasn¡¯t the only one the mushroom had affects on. Remembering that heavenly smell again a smile came on his face. He reached out to shake Chubby out of his trance.Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more. ¡°Huh¡ I¡¯m up.¡± ¡°Yea you are, so how should we split them up. Since, you found them you could choose how to distribute them.¡± ¡°Uhm alright I choose to split it up evenly. We will do rock paper scissors for the biggest one. That should be the fairest way.¡± ¡°Alright if that¡¯s what you want we will split them evenly. As for the biggest one that one will go to you. There¡¯s no need to do rock paper scissors and besides you found them, and we are able to eat now.¡± ¡°Are you sure?¡± ¡°Positive.¡± With that being decided they only had to decide on who would pull them out. Without a knife they wouldn¡¯t be able to perfectly pull them out. They had to make due with their hands and try not to damage the body as much as possible. They decided to let Chubby do the honors of pulling them out. Chubby got as close to the mushrooms as possible without damaging them. Next, he dispersed the dirt around the mushrooms. The entire time not a speck of dust touched the mushrooms. When it seemed like dust was about to fall on them it was like the dust was being repelled by a force field. These mushrooms were truly magical. Done with dispersing the dirt around the mushrooms Chubby slowly and carefully pulled out the mushrooms. He started from the smallest and worked his way up to the biggest ones. When Chubby was done pulling the mushrooms out they checked if there were any damages on them. They noticed that the smaller ones had the most damages since Chubby started on them. The damage got progressively smaller until the biggest mushroom only had a small amount of damages. All in all, the mushrooms were in great shape. With the mushroom in hand they walked out of the dark part of the forest into a place where there was more moonlight. They found a tree that was big enough and had enough moonlight for the both of them to sit around. Chubby then evenly split up the mushrooms and kept the biggest one to hisself while also giving the second biggest one to Jason. The second biggest one was only slightly smaller than the biggest one, so Jason was content with the ones he received. Now was the time for the truth were the mushrooms as good as they smelled or were they disgusting. They were only a bite away from finding out the truth. Both Jason and Chubby decided that they would eat the smallest ones first and work their way up. They looked at each other and said ¡°cheers¡± at the same time. They then withdrew their gaze from each other and looked at the mushroom in their hands. Grabbing the smallest mushroom in his hand Jason brought it up to his nose. ¡°Ahhhhhh,¡± said Jason when he smelt that divine scent again. His mouth started watering again he couldn¡¯t wait to put the mushroom into his mouth. He took the mushroom away from his nose and brought it close to his watering open mouth. He hesitated for a quick second before putting it into his mouth. He took a bite and started moving it around his tongue. The mushroom was as soft as a fluffy cloud. It felt like it would melt on his tongue like a warm soft caramel candy. It felt so soft that Jason was slightly reluctant to bite it again, but thanks to good he did because he would have missed out on a heavenly treat. When Jason bit into the mushroom there was an explosion of flavor on his tongue. The sweet nectar like taste of pineapples was flowing down his gullet. With every bite the sweet taste came back and was overpowering his taste buds. It tasted so good he almost let a moan out. Jason then felt the mushroom going down his throat and everywhere it passed the place started to feel comfortably warm. When it reached his stomach, the warm feeling started to spread out to all his limbs. Saying Jason was feeling extremely comfortable was an understatement. The feeling felt terrific. Jason closed his eyes savoring both the taste and the warm feeling. When the feeling disappeared Jason slowly opened his eyes, he looked over at Chubby. Chubby had a goofy smile on his face. It seemed he was enjoying the sweet taste and the comfortable feeling. Jason looked at how much mushrooms Chubby had left. He found that Chubby had already eaten his second one. Not wanting to be left behind Jason started on his second mushroom. The second mushroom was a tad bit sweeter than the first and the warm feeling was a bit more comfortable than the first. Jason felt like he was on cloud nine and while riding the comfortable feeling Jason found out that the bigger the mushroom was and the brighter the luster the better the overall feeling the mushroom gave. Jason then quickly moved on to eat the third and then the last mushrooms. Eating the last mushroom, the sweetness and comfortable feeling he felt was multiple times higher than the first mushroom. Jason was so comfortable he didn¡¯t notice he fell asleep. Chapter 3: NOOOO Jason found himself floating in a pit of darkness. there wasn¡¯t anything around not even a spec of light. Everything was encompassed by endless darkness. He tried moving his fingers to grab onto the darkness and was relieved to know that he could move his body. It was wonderful to find out he wasn¡¯t stuck in one place forever. Next, he wanted to try moving another body part his legs. He willed his legs to move from the right leg to the left leg one step at a time. With that he started walking, but no matter how much he walked he wasn¡¯t going anywhere. In reality, he was walking in a endless loop, surrounded by the wicked night. He decided to use a different approach. The place he was in wasn¡¯t working by any natural laws he was familiar with. No matter how much he walked he wasn¡¯t getting anywhere and the longer he stayed in the darkness the more nervous he became. He felt himself physically walking further and further away, but he didn¡¯t know he was walking in an endless loop. He felt trapped and he was starting to feel a bit claustrophobic. Jason contemplated running due to his failed attempt to walk. He figured since walking didn¡¯t work running would have a slim chance of making an impact, but not trying would be a great injustice. Jason started moving his legs one at a time: from a slow walk, to a slow jog, to a full out sprint. It didn¡¯t take long before Jason ran out of breath. He bent over with his hands on his knees trying to breathe. After several minutes of breathing hard, Jason finally got his breathing under control. He slowly straightened his posture and wiped the nonexistent sweat off his brows. The second idea was a failure, so he pondered on his next attempt. After some deliberations he decided on trying to jump his way out, but at the same time he prepped himself for the inevitable failure. Jason bent his body at the knees resembling a stable squat like stance. Next, he brought both of his arms back and made them as straight as possible. Jason put as much power into his legs as possible building the force he needs to jump as high as possible. He took a deep breath, got on his tip-toes, and he jumped with his arms swinging up in accordance. This was possibly the highest Jason has ever jumped in his life. He never imagined he could jump so high. In mid-jump Jason felt like he was going somewhere until he reached the peak of the jump. From that point there was no more going up, His feet were destined to fall back done. That was what was supposed to happen, but it didn¡¯t. Jason only fell for a tenth of a second before he found himself landing on solid air. As Jason was about to celebrate his success, he felt himself being slowly brought back down to the ground. To combat what was happening Jason got back into the squatting stance and jumped again. Once again, he felt himself being slowly forced back to the ground. Everytime Jason felt himself being brought down, he constantly jumped again and again while in mid-air. It worked until his stamina started depleting and his sense of fatigue worsened with every jump he made. He reached a point where his legs were on fire and his heart felt like it was about to jump out his chest. With no other option, he stopped and composed himself. His body started to sink down to where he first started. Jason felt his heart breaking. All the progress he made was going down the drain. Oh, the agony and despair he felt made him want to cry. He held his tears in because from this attempt he learned that there was a possible way out of this place and all he had to was find it. He was determined to escape. Once Jason breathing was under control, he though back on what had caused his previous failures. When he walked or ran he didn¡¯t go anywhere. When he jumped after a while he ran out of stamina. Though a failure Jason was able to learn one key information from jumping. It was that going up was the best way to approach the problem. It is the best chance of getting out of this god forsaken place. Out of nowhere an idea came to mind. He had to find a way to fly out. Jason didn¡¯t know if that was possible. He didn¡¯t have any other ideas as well as not having any tools to assist his way out. Jason started going over all the possible ways he fly. Then a funny idea came to mind. He started laughing at the idea considering how absurd it sounded. Jason decided to follow the idea. He positioned both of his legs together, then raised his right arm up to the sky. He kept his left arm at his side. Next, he craned his neck up forcing his face to look at the dark sky above. Lastly, he got on his tip-toes and said, ¡°up, up and away¡± with zealotry in his voice. Five seconds passed, with him still being stuck in that ridiculous pose. Jason blushed at the absurdity of the pose. He felt ridiculous and he knew that what he just attempted was point blank stupid. Jason looked around to see if anyone had magically appeared to watch him make a fool of himself. There, of course, was no one present. Jason breathed out a breath of relief. The action he did now was just out right embarrassing and having people see him would make him want to bury his head in the ground. Great thing no one was there. In the moment, Jason was tickled from what he just did. He laughed so hard he had to hold his stomach.Did you know this story is from Royal Road? Read the official version for free and support the author. After his bit of laughter Jason had one more gimmick he always wanted to try. The probability of it working was as slim as doing the superman pose from earlier. It was pretty simple. He just had to imagine himself with wings. Jason closed his eyes and started imagining an angel like white wings with flame designs growing out of his shoulder blades. Then he imagined working his back muscles to flap his wings. As he imagined the majestic wings he felt wind blowing pass him. The force of the wind was created by his flapping wings. At the moment, Jason was ignorant to the effects of his flapping wings. All that was on his mind was flying. After flapping his wings for the umpteenth in his imagination, he started to fly. Outside of Jasons imagination he was actually flying. When Jason felt that he was flying he opened his eyes in wonder. He was so surprised that his gimmick worked he stopped imagining himself flying. Within the next few seconds, he was free falling to his death. The abrupt fall caught him off guard and like his predecessor Icarus he started grabbing at the empty air one hand after the other to no avail. Jason closed his eyes in despair to avoid seeing the second of his fatal impact. He started picturing himself flapping his imaginary wings again. Jason felt his descent slowing down until he came to a standstill. He sighed in relief because he wasn¡¯t going to plummet to his death. Jason opened his fidgeting eyes. He knew he had to keep imagining himself flapping his wings especially with his eyes open. He looked below him to still find the never-ending darkness. It didn¡¯t bother him as much as it did earlier as he found comfort in his imaginary wings. Jason imagined himself flying up. His body followed his imagination and chased after the sky. In the next thirty seconds Jason saw nothing other than darkness. Jason knew he had to hold on to his hope in the midst of all his hopelessness. He could not lose it. He learned that lesson from the day he was searching for Chubby when he got distracted by the trees. He must keep hope and keep persevering through the hardships. With that small lesson in mind Jason persevered through. It took him another minute of flying before suddenly he saw a spec of light in front of him. Jason smiled to himself before flying towards the small speck of light. The more he followed the speck the bigger and brighter it became. He busted out of the darkness into the warmth of light. He spread out his arms to embrace the warmth. He indulged himself in the warm feeling for a minute before he caught his bearings. Jason looked down to gander at the place he came from to find it closing up. The sight was both exciting and terrifying. It was exciting because he wouldn¡¯t have to return to that gloomy hell. On the other hand, it was terrifying because it made him wonder about the possibility of not escaping on time. Would he have been stuck to rot in the darkness for all eternity or was him escaping a prerequisite for it to close. The though was terrifying. Taking his mind off of possibilities that didn¡¯t happen he saw a breathtaking scenery right before his eyes. There was a valley filled with flowers that had a myriad of vibrant colors. The colors resembled the brilliance of the rainbow. There were different types of butterflies flying through the valley enhancing its beauty. On the other side of the valley, an emerald colored mountain had a waterfall cascading down its side. As the water fell down the mountain the vivid sky-blue color was highlighted by the rays of the sun. The emerald color of the mountain and the sky-blue color of the waterfall enhanced each other making the entire scenery seem like the paradise of the gods. The scenery was extremely refreshing to Jason¡¯s soul. While taking in the scenery, Jason saw giant mushrooms growing out the ground. The mushrooms resembled the mushrooms he had eaten earlier. They didn¡¯t have a speck of dust on them and were as white as the clouds floating in the sky. Jason watched them grow from a sprout to the size they are now. The bigger the mushrooms grew the stronger the heavenly aroma of pineapples permeated the entire valley. Inhaling the scent of the mushrooms had the same effect on Jason as the first encounter. He remembered that heavenly taste and the comfortable feeling he felt afterward. His mouth started to uncontrollably water and his posture started to visibly sag. He wanted to taste and fell that feeling again. The mushrooms kept growing until they were ten meters long. The luster of the mushrooms was out of this world beautiful. Jason couldn¡¯t help himself anymore and flew to the closest mushroom to take a bite. No matter how much he flapped his wings he could never get close to them. Something that was so close to him was unattainable. This feeling compared to staying in the endless darkness was the true hell. Jason subconsciously inhaled the aroma renewing his will to eat. He kept flapping his wings to get to what was rightfully his. When he finally felt like he was making some progress towards the mushrooms something weird happened. A giant bodiless head rose up out of nowhere. The giant head was an exact replica of his head but thousands upon thousands of times bigger. The giant head turned its eyes towards the mushrooms Jason was coveting. Jason felt like the head was looking at him. It wasn¡¯t until he saw the heads mouth watering as it stared at the mushrooms before he got scared. The giant opened its gigantic mouth to devour the mushrooms. The head did a swallowing motion and all the flowers, butterflies, the fully-grown mushrooms, the majestic mountain and waterfall was being sucked into his mouth. The beautiful world was being swallowed whole and Jason wasn¡¯t excluded. Feeling his impending doom Jason flapped his wings to the best of his abilities to fly the opposite direction of the head. That didn¡¯t have any effects. Jason was instead being slowly dragged into the mouth. ¡°NOOOOO don¡¯t eat me,¡± Jason screamed as he was swallowed whole. Chapter 4: Thank God Jason¡¯s eyelids were fidgeting. His heart was beating faster and faster by the second. Sweat was being formed on his forehead. As the seconds ticked by the sweat showered his face. Jason was startled. He didn¡¯t comprehend what just happened. One moment, he was having a good time and the next moment he was scared witless. He replayed the incident over and over in his head. He couldn¡¯t grasp the difference from his dream and his reality. He opened his eyes and they wandered aimlessly. He couldn¡¯t see anything clearly yet; his eyes hadn¡¯t adjusted to the faint light coming through the trees. When his eyes finally adjusted he saw he was surrounded by trees. He moved his head slightly to remove a crick he was feeling in his neck. When he moved his head, he felt something soft beneath him. He took his head off the soft object to identify it. The soft object he felt was the shoulders of his sleeping companion Chubby. Jason was absolutely relieved after finding out he was back in reality. He wiped the sweat racing down his face and drool that was coming out his mouth. ¡°Thank god!¡± he murmured ecstatically, ¡°It was just a dream. I thought I was going to die for a second there,¡± mumbled Jason. With everything clear, Jason was able to relax and got the chance to observe his surroundings. When he looked up, the rays of sunlight that found their way through the swaying trees hit his face. He closed his eyes for a moment to let the scattered light brush his tired face. A smile started creeping on his face. He was so relaxed he felt as if he was melting into his surroundings becoming one with nature. When he opened his eyes the feeling slowly escaped his grasp. ¡°What a beautiful feeling,¡± he muttered. Jason suddenly had the urge to explore the forest and intake more of its natural beauty. When he turned to look at the peaceful sleeping figure of Chubby, he wanted to shake him away. Jason didn¡¯t feel like sitting down without anything to do, while waiting for Chubby to wake up. With a quick deliberation he decided to wake Chubby up. As his hands were about to touch Chubby, he had a good look at his sleeping figure. Chubby had a serene look on his face. That one look made Jason remember his serene moment from earlier. He decided against his foolish action. Waiting for a few minutes didn¡¯t bother him anymore. He brought his head up to look at the swaying trees. While watching them he took in involuntary nap. ¡°Wake up buddy,¡± said Chubby while waving his hands close to Jason¡¯s face. ¡°I¡¯m awake, I¡¯m awake. Sheesh I was just waiting for you to wake up,¡± Jason said after opening his eyes. ¡°Yea, whatever you say buddy,¡± Chubby replied. Jason rose to his feet after thinking it wasn¡¯t worth arguing with Chubby about who was awake first. He patted his back side to get the dirt and dead leaves off of him. Jason cupped both of his hands behind his head. ¡°We could either continue to argue or find a way out of this forest,¡± stated Jason with his eyes drifting afar. It was as if he was a psychic with the abilities of looking into the future. Jason didn¡¯t hear Chubby¡¯s response to the question, so he turned to face him. Chubby smiled at him before mimicking him. He cupped his hands behind his head and his eyes were wondering afar. ¡°Whatever you say buddy,¡± Chubby replied as they both laughed. ¡°Alright,¡± replied Jason as he exhaled before he closed his eyes. He dropped his left arm ehile positioning his right arm in front of him. After waiting five seconds, he spun his body in a complete circle several times before stopping. He opened his eyes to find his hands pointing in the direction of Chubby. He decisively turned around and started walking the exact opposite direction. He stopped and turned around to see Chubby wasn¡¯t moving. ¡°Are you coming,¡± Jason asked questionably. Chubby turned to look behind him. He only saw trees and nothing else out of the ordinary. Chubby became increasingly puzzled as to why Jason didn¡¯t walk in his direction. Chubby began to question Jason¡¯s decision: ¡°What?¡±. ¡°What¡¯s going on?¡±, ¡°What just happened?¡±, ¡°Did I miss something,¡± were the thoughts going through his mind. He didn¡¯t have a better logic as to why they should walk I the direction which Jason had gambled in the first place. Chubby caught up to Jason after a quick jog. He stopped in front of Jason and turned around to face him.Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. ¡°Why didn¡¯t you go the way you were pointing at,¡± implored Chubby. ¡°Oh that, I basically flipped a coin and decided to go the opposite way. We don¡¯t¡¯ know how to navigate around here because everywhere looks the same. So, in my head it doesn¡¯t matter where we go as long as we get there,¡± answered Jason. ¡°I get that part, but why didn¡¯t you go the direction you first pointed at,¡± Chubby asked again. ¡°This may sound a little crazy, but I did the exact same thing to find you when I was lost.¡± ¡°Oh, I kind of understand, but aren¡¯t you worried that we¡¯ll get lost by going this way? Wait we are already lost so it kind of doesn¡¯t matter at this point, does it?¡± Jason shook his head at the rhetorical question before walking around Chubby. ¡°Are you coming?¡± inquired Jason as he started walking away. Chubby quickly followed after him. For the next hour or so, they continued to walk. They talked to lessening their perception of time. They passed an enumerable number of trees that looked the same. There were a couple of trees that caught their attention the most. There were a few trees that resembled a family. One of the trees in the family had leaves the color of blood. Every time they looked at the tree, they had an illusion of them stepping into a bloody battlefield where a race of six armed figures were slaughtering monsters many times their size. When one of the figures turned to face them, they felt their blood run cold and where immediately pushed out the illusion. The second tree in the family had leaves the color of cyan. When they looked at the tree they were brought into an illusion of them being in a clear blue ocean surrounded by beautiful mermaids playing their zithers while singing a beautiful song. The illusion was both peaceful and beautiful. The last tree in the family was wedged in between the blood red and cyan trees. It was the smallest of the three trees with electric, purple leaves. When Jason and Chubby looked at the small tree they were brought into an illusion of a battlefield with the six-armed figures fighting the giant monsters with the beautiful mermaids singing their songs to encourage the slaughter. The illusion was a beautiful contradiction. There was a section in the forest where the trees resembled a cherry blossom tree. The leaves of the tree were similar to the colors of the Anemone flower. As they walked passed the trees the flowers started to fall down. The scene resembled pink snow slowly falling from the sky. Jason caught one of the falling leaves. The leaf was soft to the touch. When he brought the leaf close to his nose, he inhaled the aroma of freshly squeezed cherries. Jason told Chubby to catch one of the falling leaves and smell it. Chubby had a content look on his face after smelling it. Jason and Chubby both climbed the tree hoping to find some cherries to eat. They couldn¡¯t find any cherries on the tree. The smell emitted from the cherry blossom satisfied their hunger. After coming up empty handed Jason and Chubby continued to walk until they heard a streaming sound. Following the direction of the sound, they found a flowing river. They ran to the river in desperation for water. They devoured the water, in that moment, they realized they were extremely dehydrated. The water wasn¡¯t stagnant so it was relatively safe to drink. After satisfying his thirst, Jason examined the river. From the shore they were on to the shore on the other side of the river, it was about two hundred feet wide. The water was so clear you could see the depth of the river. The river ranged from a couple inches deep to about ten feet deep or even deeper. The river was so long he couldn¡¯t see the end of it. Jason took a step backward to look at the sky. He squints his eyes as he looked up. He found the sun in the middle of the sky. From the position of the sun, Jason guessed it was around noon. Jason stomach growled. It was like his body subconsciously felt hungry once he estimated the time. He turned to face Chubby, who was still drinking water, and said ¡°I¡¯m getting hungry, so I¡¯ll look around here to see if I could find something to eat. I won¡¯t go too far so don¡¯t worry if you can¡¯t see me.¡± Chubby stopped drinking water for a moment to acknowledge Jason. He instantly went back to drinking water. Throughout their journey, they didn¡¯t see or hear any animals. the only food they had found were the mushrooms from last night. Jason¡¯s only expectation was to find more mushrooms. Chapter 5: What could possibly go wrong(slightly edited) Before entering the forest, Jason decided that he wouldn¡¯t go further than thirty meters from the river. Since There weren¡¯t any bushes blocking the path into the forest, Jason slipped right in. For the first five minutes Jason didn¡¯t find anything to eat. He examined the trees from their roots to the top of their crown to reassure no fruits escaped his line of sight. He didn¡¯t find anything and was starting to notice an ongoing pattern. The forest seemed to be devoid of all life and had an extremely limited number of things to eat. He started to speculate that both chubby and himself were placed in the forest to die. At this point Jason started thinking that walking around in this foodless forest was a waste of time. Two minutes later he still couldn¡¯t find anything that could be eaten and was about to call it quits. As he turned around in defeat, he saw something white in the corners of his eyes. He quickly traced his eyes back in the direction he saw the white thing. When On further inspection he saw that it was a couple of white mushrooms. They looked similar to the mushrooms he had earlier. What he didn¡¯t notice about the mushrooms was that they had dust on them and it had small red lines running on the sides of them. Without thinking he started pumping his hands in victory. He was now a bread winner and his search wasn¡¯t a pointless endeavor. Jason calmed down after his excitement started to fade away. He got on his knees to remove the mushrooms from the ground. He gently removed the clutter from around all the mushrooms without disturbing them. Next, he put his hand around the first mushroom and started pulling on it just as gently as he removed the clutter. When the mushroom was pulled out of the ground it had a minimal amount of damage afflicted on it. Jason brought the unearthed mushroom close to his nose to take a whiff of it. The aroma of freshly peeled pineapples hit his noise once again. With the smell he was able to confirm that this was the mushroom from earlier. He knew from this point on he had to be extra careful when he pulled out the mushrooms, he didn¡¯t want to damage the mushrooms at all, if possible. One after the other Jason gently pulled out the rest of the mushrooms. Done with the task Jason put the mushrooms in his pockets. He then stood up and proceeded to stretch weary body. He moved his body around to hear all the desirable cracks in the right places. With every crack he knew his stretching was getting the job done. When Jason was done stretching he started walking back to the river. This time he wasn¡¯t lost he knew exactly were to go. While walking Jason had something on his mind. He was debating whether or not he should show Chubby all the mushrooms he found or tell a lie and say he found a few. Both options had their advantages and disadvantages. If he showed Chubby all the mushrooms he found he would be a true team player, but on the other hand he wouldn¡¯t get to eat all mushrooms he wanted. He had no doubt in his mind that he would give chubby some, but how much? After a few minutes of deliberation, he decided on showing chubby all the mushrooms he had. He reasoned that Chubby would do the same for him and that was all the comforted he needed. The guilt that Jason had started to feel disappeared completely and was able to walk with a straight back. After a few minutes of walking, Jason was able to see the river in front of him. He quickened his pace with a pep in his step. He was excited to show Chubby the fruits of his labor. When Jason came out the clearing of the forest he saw Chubby sitting peacefully in front of the river. The thought of scaring Chubby crossed his mind for a second. He knew that it would probably lightened the mood and might make both of them relax afterwards. The more he thought about it the more appealing the idea became. That was until he saw just how peaceful and relaxed Chubby seemed. He started thinking that maybe scaring Chubby wasn¡¯t the greatest of ideas. What they needed was to find food, shelter and maybe people to give them directions. The closer Jason got to Chubby¡¯s position the more correct he felt his decision was. He saw chubby sitting cross legged on the grey stony ground with his left arm resting on his right thigh and his face resting on his right fist. The picture contrasted the upbeat feeling Chubby usually gave off. ¡°Your back already buddy?¡± ¡°Yea I¡¯m back,¡± Jason answered back. After answering Chubby, Jason though back to how ridiculous the thought of scarring chubby was. He was more alert to his surrounding then he was. ¡°Did you find anything?¡± ¡°Yea I found a couple of mushrooms.¡± ¡°That¡¯s great, I thought you didn¡¯t find anything.¡± ¡°I just got lucky.¡± ¡°Luck or not you did good buddy.¡± ¡°Thanks. I found eight of them, so four for me and four for you.¡± Jason took out the eight mushrooms from his pockets to show Chubby. After showing Chubby the mushrooms Jason split them as equally as possible. He of course took the biggest one and gave Chubby the second biggest. It was fairer that way. When Chubby took his mushrooms, he thanked Jason and smelled the sweet scent coming from them. ¡°Let¡¯s eat them at the same time,¡± suggested Jason. ¡°Sure buddy,¡± Chubby answered back after he was done smelling the mushrooms. The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. ¡°On the count of three we take a bite.¡± Chubby nodded his head in conformation. After that Both Jason and Chubby positioned their smallest mushroom by their mouths. ¡°On my count. ONE! TWO! TWO IN A HALF! THREE!¡± Chubby almost ate his mushroom when Jason said two in a half, but he stopped himself at the last second. When Jason said three both of them took as big of a bit as possible. On their first bite they didn¡¯t taste anything, so they kept on chewing. On the second bite the taste started to appear. On the third bite the taste punched them in the face. The mushroom tasted similar to freshly puked vomit. They both took an involuntary fourth bite and their faces scrunched up. Their faces resembled someone who ate an extremely sour candy and couldn¡¯t handle it. The taste was so nasty the opened their mouths and spat out the mushrooms. The taste didn¡¯t immediately go away with the mushrooms out their mouths. In a sense it actually became stronger and more disgusting. They started scraping their tongues to get the foul taste out. It wasn¡¯t working and made it worst. Their fingers had the residue from the other mushrooms they had in their hands. By them scraping their tongues the residue had spread all over it. The taste was making them gag. That was when they remembered the river in front of them. They turned around to face each other before they bolted to drink some water. They started drinking the river water by the mouth full. After they drunk water till they couldn¡¯t drink anymore they stopped. As soon as they stopped drinking the river water they noticed the disgusting taste in their mouths was starting to recede. ¡°That was one of the most disgusting things I ever ate buddy. Where did you find those mushrooms from?¡± ¡°I found it by the roots of a tree plus they looked and smelled like the mushrooms you found earlier.¡± ¡°Yea, I know, but why did they taste so bad?¡± ¡°I don¡¯t know, I don¡¯t know. Gosh it tasted so bad.¡± Jason and Chubby continued to trash talk about how nasty the mushrooms were. They couldn¡¯t figure why the mushrooms were so nasty. The mushrooms looked similar to the mushrooms they had from last night and the aroma they gave off was the same. So why were they so different? That was when the scenes from last night and the scenes from earlier overlapped in Jasons head. He remembered the details from each mushroom and started comparing them. The first batch of mushrooms were spotless without any marks on it. If Jason could remember correctly the second batch of mushrooms weren¡¯t spotless and possibly had a mark. ¡°Wait, did they?¡± Jason thought. Jason scrambled over to the mushrooms on the ground to see if his theory was right. He picked up a mushroom and brought it close to his eyes. The first thing that he noticed was that the mushrooms weren¡¯t spotless they had dust all over them. On closer inspection he started to see the faint red lines running down the side of the mushroom. ¡°Oh S*** they weren¡¯t the same mushrooms from last night,¡± said out loud to both himself and Chubby, While fully understanding he made an unexpected blunder by not identifying the right mushrooms; Thirty seconds had pass since both him and chubby took their first bite of the vomit tasting mushroom. That was when Jason looked over at Chubby to find himself seeing things. He saw Chubbys clothes started turning different colors and length. After a while Chubbys outfit set on a red and black long sleeve striped shirt with a midnight colored black pants. While he was looking at Chubbys right hand he saw it forming a black glove like covering on top of it. After the glove like covering formed his fingernails started to elongate and at the same time turned to metal. When Chubbys metal nails stopped growing they resembled extremely sharp knives. The worst thing happened when he looked at chubbys face. His face resembled a person who had just healed from extreme third-degree burns. Jason couldn¡¯t believe what his eyes were seeing. He blinked his eyes just in case he was seeing things. After blinking his eyes Jason looked at Chubby again. He found chubbys entire appearance was back to normal without anything out of place. Jason was relieved thinking that his mind was only playing tricks on him. As he relaxed he involuntarily blinked. After blinking he accidentally looked over at Chubby he saw the abomination was back. Jason was staring to freak out he didn¡¯t understand what was going on. Every time he blinked either chubby or the abomination would show up. The eighth time Jason blinked the figure was staring to get close to him. The tenth time he blinked the figure became a little closer. On the twelfth blink the figure was still coming closer. After twelfth time blinking Jason knew if he kept blink the figure would come closer to him. He tried to stop himself from doing so. He was able to control his eye lids for thirty seconds before he blinked and everytime after that the time he was able to keep from blinking was getting shorter and shorter. After Jason blinked the fortieth the figure was close to his face. Jason was scared out his mind. ¡°It¡¯s Chubby,¡± said the figure in a creepy husky voice after Jason blinked the forty second time. Jason was so scared he felt his heart skip a beat and he almost peed on his self. On the other side of Jason Chubby was going through a hard time to. When thirty seconds had passed since he took his first bite into the nasty mushroom he started seeing things. When he looked at the river the water started turning blood red. Chubby could swear he smelled the stench of blood coming from the river. The smell made his stomach hurt. When Chubby looked away from the river and looked over at Jason he was starting to get scared. Jason¡¯s face was becoming a blob of swollen flesh. When his face couldn¡¯t possibly become any more swollen a yellowing mask started to form on his face. Chubby watched the mask start forming from the left side of Jason face to the right side of Jasons face. The only thing the yellowing mask didn¡¯t cover was Jasons two eyes. Suddenly Chubby saw Jason eyes open and stare right at him, Chubby felt like Jason was staring at his soul. The transformation didn¡¯t stop on Jason face it. His clothes turned pitch black with tearings forming all over them. The last thing Chubby saw happening to Jason was what was forming in his hand. A black metal started growing from a couple inches to a three foot long machete. When the machete was done forming it was being pointed in Chubby direction. When Chubby seen It happen he wanted to run, but he couldn¡¯t get off the ground. Jason figure slowly stood up and started walking towards him. Chubby was so frightened his mind went blink for a second. He snapped out of his daze to find Jason figure coming closer and closer. He wasn¡¯t able to do anything other than watch. From then on every step Chubby saw Jason take he felt his heart skipping a beat. When Chubby saw Jason take the last step that brought him one feet away from him he thought his heart had stop. Then Jason positioned the sharp looking machete by Chubbys neck. The eyes that was staring at Chubby opened wider and stared exactly into Chubby eyes. Chubby started to hyperventilate. There was no doubt in his mind that he was about to die. Chapter 6: what could possibly go wrong(continued) Chubby eyed the sharp machete on his neck without knowing what to do. At the same time the monstrous figure that Jason magically transformed into just stared at Chubby without blinking or moving a muscle. Chubby felt the piercing gaze on him and involuntarily turned to face it. When both of their eyes meet, Chubby felt like his very being was being read like an open book. He felt like he was butt naked and all his sacred parts were out in the open for the entire world to see. He wanted to fold his arms over his chest while getting into a fetal position to cover as much of his body as possible. His thoughts were ineffective in this situation. The only thing he could do was stare back into Jason¡¯s eyes. While doing so, he saw something in those unblinking eyes that wasn¡¯t obvious at a first glance. He saw what he interpreted to be an endless amount of loneliness, pain and bitterness. ¡°Is it my imagination or do I see pain in buddy¡¯s eyes,¡± thought Chubby. He wasn¡¯t expecting someone who had a machete against his neck to have all these complicated emotions. ¡°I¡¯m not sure what¡¯s going on, but this might be my chance to get out of this situation scot free,¡± reasoned Chubby after putting all the noticeable clues together. As he was about to open his mouth to communicate with the terrifying figure of Jason, something unexpected happen. Jason for the first time since putting the machete on Chubby¡¯s neck suddenly moved. He took a small step back while at the same time removing the machete from Chubby¡¯s neck. As the machete was being removed from his neck, Chubby for a moment thought Jason had possibly heard the voice in his head. That thought didn¡¯t last long though. Jason has suddenly swung the arm carrying the machete with all his power at Chubby¡¯s fragile looking neck. ¡°Stoppppp,¡± yelled chubby with all his might as he watched the machete getting closer and closer to his neck. Not even a second later he felt something cold on his neck. Then the next second, he saw the machete exiting the other side of his neck. Bewildered by the thought and feeling of having his neck cut clean through, Chubby reacted the same way any sane person would. He moved his once disabled right arm to check if what just happened was real or a terrifying illusion. He felt around his slightly dried skin for any abnormalities. He probed and probed finding nothing to worsen his concerns. His happiness was starting to build up in his chest just waiting for the chance to explode out for the whole world to see. Oh, how happy he was, nothing could threaten his happiness not even the terrifying Jason. But, oh how short lived that happiness was. In all his giddiness he put too much force in his probing hand positioned on the top half of his neck. He felt his head shift over about one or two centimeters to the left. The nothingness he felt before was replaced with something warm on his fingers. He rubs his thumb and his index fingers together to find the wet substance to have a thick and sticky consistency. He had a sickening feeling in his gut that the machete cutting straight through his neck wasn¡¯t his imagination. He couldn¡¯t believe the reality he was going through, so he brought his sticky fingers before his eyes. That moment confirmed all his suspicions. On his fingers was his very vividly real crimson red blood. ¡°Am I going to die,¡± thought chubby while turning his eyes to face his beheader. There he stood without an ounce of an emotion escaping his demeaner. The machete in his hand was at full attention eyeing Chubby¡¯s every move. Chubby felt like he was a piece of meat and the machete was a pitch-black hungry serpent drooling while looking at its week and defenseless prey. One wrong move from chubby would make the hungry serpent strike at him, squeezing the last ounce of life out of him before ending up in its stomach. Chubby shuddered at the disturbing thought and tried to put it out of mind. From the start of his disturbing thought, everything started to go down hill for Chubby. The monstrous Jason seeing that Chubby hadn¡¯t fallen over raised his arms to strike him again. Chubby instinctively tried backing up as soon as he saw the serpent like machete move. That was when he messed up big time. He felt his head shaking unnaturally as if something was terribly wrong. Then he felt his head stabilize for a quick moment before it slowly started sliding off of something that was very wet and viscous. He tried thinking about what was wrong with him, but no thought was able to form in his head. It was like he was incapable of any thought process. It scared the living day lights out of him and it only got worst from there. His head never stopped sliding off his neck when it reached a point where it started to tilt instead. His eyes that were once focused on Jason and his serpentine machete was slowly made to look at the serene, without a cloud in sight, blue sky. The sight contrasted the terrible fear he was going through. Like riding a roller coaster at the highest point one is bound to go down. That was exactly what happened.Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. He felt his head free falling from the precipice that it was once on. He watched as the blue sky getting further and further away from him. The fall felt like it took an eternity to happen, but in reality it didn¡¯t even take a second. THUMP! Was the sound he heard when his head landed on the hard rocky ground. He finally was able to see what his head had fallen off of. It was his life long partner, his body. He would have been more shocked if he had the ability to form a coherent thought in his once clear mind. Sadly, looking at the serene blue sky wasn¡¯t the last thing he would see. By the cruel hands of fate his head was somehow miraculously rolled to where he could see both his headless body and his beheader, Jason. Time seemed to slow down for Chubby. He saw his robust headless body slowly fall on the same hard rocky ground as his head. His body hitting the ground made a sound that his ears couldn¡¯t pick up anymore. The despair that he was feeling earlier started to melt away as if it was never there to begin with. If he could still form thoughts in his addling mind he would¡¯ve thought ¡°is this what death feels like.¡± He would never get the answer, but it would still be okay with him. With his last once of strength he could muster, he moved his eyes to face Jason. As he started feeling his consciousness slowly fading into the dark depths of death, he mouthed the final word he would leave the world with, ¡°why?¡± Then the darkness finally embraced Chubby and all his wonders. ******* Jason looked down on the knife fingered gloved hand that was buried deep in his stomach. He watched as his vividly red blood stains the once clean knives and his blood slowly spreading on his favorite Taffy the duck shirt. He weakly pulls his eyes away from his grievous wound to look at his soon to be murder Chubby. He looked at the scarred face for any possible resemblance of an emotion to warrant Chubby killing him. All he saw was a smirk on his face. There was no remorse or anything pertaining to him being sorry for what he did. ¡°Was this the first time he did this,¡± thought Jason. It couldn¡¯t possible be the first time he did this to someone. In his opinion, only a true col-blooded murder would be at ease in taking someone¡¯s else life. It made Jason wonder was all the bonding they had earlier a fa?ade to get him to lower his guard or was all this a sickening dream. He thought back to all the things that happened earlier in the day to see where he could have possibly gone wrong. As he was thinking back his thoughts were continuously disrupted by the searing pain in his stomach. No matter how hard he tried from that point, it became a pointless endeavor. But there was one thing clear to him, something did go wrong. It might have not even originated from Chubby. It might have come from him instead, but he couldn¡¯t remember all the important details. He snapped out of his fragmented thoughts and looked back at the face of the transformed Chubby. The conceited smirk on Chubby¡¯s face was still there. The smugness of the smirk made him mad. If he could smack the smugness off of Chubby¡¯s face he would, but at the moment it wasn¡¯t important. He remembered his parents always told him to look a man in his eyes if you had a problem with him. As the eyes were a symbol to the mirror of a person¡¯s soul. So, Jason moved his eyes away from the smirk on Chubby¡¯s lips to look into his eyes. In those eyes he saw an endless amount of self-confidence, conceitedness, and the will to cause chaos into the world. Usually Jason would shrink back at such a high level of self-confidence but dying made him change his outlook on his final moments. It gave him the courage to look into those eyes and not shrink back. He realized the only thing Chubby could possibly do to him at this point was cause him more pain. Even though he himself hated pain he knew that it wouldn¡¯t last for long and in fact could be brief. The transformed figure of Chubby noticed the quick change in the attitude of his new victim. He didn¡¯t get flustered. In fact, he loved when his victims had some fight in them. It made him savor the delicious moment when they lost the last strand of defiance in them. Nothing was sweeter than a person¡¯s dying struggles. The smirk disappeared from his face and in its place a toothy smile was being formed. From his past victims, he learned forming a slow smile made his victims imaginations go wild. Which in turn made their weak will that much weaker. He was laughing in his heart in anticipation for what was about to happen next. In front of the transformed chubby, Jason saw the creepy smile forming on chubby face without letting out an ounce of his emotion escaping his demeaner. If you had asked Jason how the smile made him feel he would tell you ¡°it was one of the creepiest things I¡¯ve ever seen, and if I wasn¡¯t dying I would of broke out in a cold sweat.¡± The smile wasn¡¯t as creepy in face value, but the intentions behind the smile was what made it terrifyingly creepy.
