《Tera》 Chapter 1 - Emergence of the Legends Suddenly a bright light appeared in the middle of a green plains, after half a minute, the light slowly faded away. What replaced the light, were four humans; two males and two females. The four were all having a shocked expression on their face, all of them were wearing the same type of clothing, a simple brown cloth which covered their body. Within the group of four people, only one of them was slightly calmer. He had a lean body and silver hair. After carefully glancing at that person, you could see that his age could only be near 20 and his eyes were dark as the night. He glanced around, seeing the other three people which were wearing the same clothes as himself and the plains they were in. As he was glancing around, he could see a large man with overgrown muscles on his body, a sweet looking young girl and another woman with slightly cold eyes. He suddenly smiled faintly, not because of he knew something important, just that he saw they were all confused and shocked as he was initially. He opened his mouth and spoke with a natural tone. ¡°I see that you¡¯re all confused, even I am myself. But, since we¡¯re here together, let¡¯s try to confirm a couple of things.¡± When he finished speaking, the three others were startled, they did see that there were others like them there, but they didn¡¯t think much of it. ¡°My name¡¡± The one with silver hair stopped as he was about to tell them his own name, but no matter how much he thought about it, he couldn¡¯t remember it. He was slightly dispirited, but quickly found a nickname for himself. ¡°I don¡¯t quite remember my name, but you could call me Silver until I remember my real name.¡± ¡°Can any of you remember anything before we arrived here?¡± Silver asked the one question he wanted to ask the most; does everyone here not remember anything just like him, or was it only him? The huge and burly man nodded slightly and spoke. ¡°My name is Ivar, my memories are fuzzy, but I remember that I was on my way to work before everything turned black.¡± Ivar had blond hair and blue eyes which sparkled slightly in the light. Near Ivar stood the sweet looking girl, she was intertwining her fingers as she glanced up towards Silver. ¡°I, I remember a little.¡± Her voice was quite low, but she was managing to answer Silver. Her eyes were big, and the colour was green while her hair was in the middle of blond and brown. ¡°Sylvia is my name and I can remember walking home from school.¡± Silver nodded slightly, looking at their age, Ivar seemed to be in his thirties while Sylvia in her late teens. As he put that in the back of his mind, he glanced at the last person; the cold looking woman who seemed to be in her early twenties. ¡°Sarah.¡± Sarah didn¡¯t even glance at anyone than Silver, her eyes seemed to want to pierce through Silver, but she couldn¡¯t figure out anything about him. ¡°The last thing I remember is walking from work.¡± Sarah had long and black hair, reaching down to her waist. Silver nodded before his eyes widened slightly, he lowered his head and was in deep thought. Ivar, Sarah and Sylvia didn¡¯t bother Silver when they saw him figuring out something. Silver slowly raised his head and glanced at them before speaking. ¡°From what I can confirm, none of us are from the same place and we came here from different time periods.¡± Before anyone could speak, he continued. ¡°I don¡¯t speak of years in difference, but hours.¡± Silver glanced towards Ivar. ¡°Ivar¡¯s memories were during the morning. Sylvia, you said you were going home from school, which should be later than that. And, lastly, Sarah seemed to have walked home from work. Depending on the hour, she should have taken public transport or drive by herself, but we could most likely guess that it was very late when she finished her shift.¡± After Silver finished speaking, everyone couldn¡¯t help but feel slightly shocked. They were all in the same situation, in a different place with random people, but Silver managed to stay calm and figure out such information by just listening to their introduction. Sarah slightly narrowed her eyes, but she really was surprised by the calmness Silver was showing. Before they could even talk a little more, three people walked towards them from the horizon. Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site. In the lead was a female with a white armour while standing behind her were two males in black armour and huge swords. Silver stepped in front of the group and stared at the three, waiting for their arrival. He swiftly glanced at the three, their armour and weapons. A frown quickly appeared on his face which vanished the next second, he could only brace himself if something happened. Ivar also saw it, but he didn¡¯t step forward, his body was trembling slightly of the giant swords they were equipped with. Sylvia¡¯s body trembled fiercely, but she forced herself into raising her face and watch what was going to happen. Sarah on the other hand tried her best in staying calm, she had also noticed the three people very early on, but she froze on her spot when she saw their weapons. But when she saw Silver walking in front of them and standing bravely there made her more courageous. Without knowing why, Silver slowly placed his right hand towards his back. After half a minute, the three quickly appeared in front of Silver and the rest. The female in the lead had red hair and big eyes which were shining brightly. The two men in the back seemed to be twins, they had the same face structure and grey hair. The female stopped three meters from Silver and smiled brightly. ¡°Welcome!¡± ¡°I¡¯m Tara, the captain of the camp on this island.¡± ¡°Camp?¡± Silver asked while raising his eyebrows. ¡°Yes.¡± Tara nodded and continued speaking. ¡°This island is one of the furthest areas from the Core. For the Alliance which was made of the several races on this continent, there¡¯s lots of captains, I was one of the few who was appointed to protect an area.¡± Silver nodded and lowered his head. Tara didn¡¯t speak, but she calmly glanced at Ivar, Sarah and Sylvia, but after finding them not acting, she could only wait for Silver¡¯s response. After ten seconds, Silver raised his head with a slight smile on his face as he was staring towards Tara. ¡°You mentioned you were a captain in the ¡®Alliance¡¯ made up from several races.¡± Tara nodded, not knowing why Silver would speak of that. ¡°That surely means that the Alliance was made to fight against something or someone.¡± Silver nodded as he didn¡¯t even wait for Tara¡¯s response. ¡°You did also mention that this island is one of the furthest areas from the ¡®Core¡¯, which means that this is a camp for recruits. Am I right or wrong?¡± His faint smile slowly turned into a grin as he glared at Tara¡¯s expression slowly change. ¡°Will we be forced to join your lovely ¡®Alliance¡¯, protect the rightful and kill the heinous enemies?¡± The more Silver spoke, the worse Tara¡¯s facial expression became. But, she quickly calmed herself down. After hearing what Silver said, Sarah, Sylvia and Ivar quickly understood that the reason Silver explained was not only for confirming it, but to also let them know what was currently going on. ¡°No, we will not force any one.¡± Tara which had finally calmed down spoke to Silver. ¡°The Alliance has promised to those who were not willing to fight would be given fifty gold coins and a house in a city of their own choosing.¡± Silver raised his eyebrows and asked in surprise. ¡°Wait, this means that the Alliance wasn¡¯t the ones who sent us here?¡± Tara shook her head. ¡°We don¡¯t know why, but from time to time, people would appear here after a bright light. After several people came, we quickly figured out that they were forced to come here. The Alliance swiftly held a meeting regarding this and declared that those who appeared could be given two choices to pick between, either the option where you can be given gold coins and a house or fight with us.¡± Tara explained in detail, she would of course not lie as a captain of the Alliance. Silver nodded and turned his head towards Sylvia, Ivar and Sarah. ¡°You heard her, you can either pick between fighting or leave peacefully¡¡± Silver¡¯s tone became slightly strange when he said ¡®peacefully¡¯, but he meant what he said, it was their own choice. Sarah thought for a couple of seconds. Even if I live ¡®peacefully¡¯ as Tara and Silver mentioned, who knows for how long I can live here. And, Silver seems to hate that suggestion a lot¡ Sarah stared at Silver as she asked. ¡°Silver, you¡¯re going to fight, right?¡± After seeing that Silver nodded, Sarah asked another question. ¡°Can I fight by your side?¡± Sarah¡¯s voice was slightly hurried, she knew that her best chance of in this new place would be near Silver who had several times showed his calmness and good points. Silver nodded and said with a smile. ¡°Of course.¡± ¡°I do not believe that even if we pick that peaceful choice that it would be that simple. Hey Silver, would you mind having this old man following you too?¡± Ivar quickly decided after hearing that Sarah wanted to follow Silver. Sylvia might be younger than the rest, but she wasn¡¯t stupid. She knew that Silver¡¯s calmness was in regard to his confidence. Well, also that when she heard his strange tone when saying ¡®peaceful¡¯ did make her body tremble. ¡°I too want to join.¡± Sylvia carefully glanced at Silver and voiced her thoughts. Silver smiled and turned around towards Tara. ¡°We will fight¡!¡± Tara¡¯s expression froze, her whole body was trembling. As she was watching the silver haired youth, she couldn¡¯t place any importance to his clothing as everyone who appeared wore the same things. But, his whole being radiated with an aura which could have belonged to an ancient creature like the Gods¡! This! Goddess Velik herself gave me this skill, she said that one day someone will appear who would shake the whole world. I, I only thought it was only something she would say, but, but, this guy is totally frightening! Chapter 2 - Classes After having calmed down, Tara put up a smile and continued talking. ¡°What we can offer those who are willing to fight are starting equipment and a class.¡± ¡°Class?¡± Silver asked Tara as he wanted to know more. ¡°Yes, with help from the many races in the Alliance, we have been able to put up classes which anyone could practice in.¡± Tara said in a natural tone and continued speaking. ¡°There are three different roles. Tank, support and damage dealer.¡± ¡°Tanks are those who keep the enemies in check, we can provide two different classes for that; lancer and brawler.¡± ¡°Supports are those who¡¯s goal is to support the team, by healing and buffing. The Alliance can provide two different classes; mystic and priest.¡± ¡°Finally we¡¯re at the damage dealers, there is a huge variety of damage dealers, their main goal is to output the most damage to their enemies. As of now there exists classes like; sorcerer, slayer, berserker, archer, gunner, warrior, reaper and valkyrie.¡± Silver nodded and glanced back at Ivar, Sylvia and Sarah. ¡°You heard her, which role will you be picking?¡± Ivar nodded and spoke out the first. ¡°For more a balanced party, I think I would fit the tank role the best.¡± Silver nodded in approval, he sent his glance towards Sylvia next. ¡°Uhm, I, I want to be the support role.¡± Sylvia said in a low voice, when she saw that Silver didn¡¯t disagree with her, she felt relief and all her worries escaped her body. Silver wouldn¡¯t stop Sylvia in becoming a support class, that was because he could clearly see that it would be a lot harder for Sylvia to pick a damage dealer class or a tank class and adapt to it. Silver smiled slightly and glanced towards Sarah, wanting to know her pick. ¡°If Ivar¡¯s going to pick the tank role and Sylvia¡¯s picking the support role, then it would be best for me to become a damage dealer.¡± Sarah spoke as she had thought about it a lot and she was sure that Silver had already figured out a plan. ¡°Alright, to make the team steady, I¡¯ll also pick a damage dealing class too.¡± Silver turned around towards Tara and asked. ¡°Could you tell us about the two tank classes? What are their pros and cons?¡± Tara nodded slightly baffled, most people would have already been scared and picked the safe fifty gold payment and live in a far away city. But, she was currently facing Silver who calmly thought of everything and could ask about the pros and cons of the classes without being flustered. ¡°Yes¡¡± She quickly reorganized her thoughts and said calmly. ¡°There is a big difference between a lancer and a brawler. To speak in the overall statement; it is harder in becoming a lancer, but they can give great buffs for the whole team. While brawlers on the other side is a lot easier controlled, they can personally deal a lot of damage, but they don¡¯t give buffs like the lancers does.¡± After thinking for a moment, Tara continued. ¡°If I¡¯m not mistaken, the only thing that a brawler can do which is regarded in helping the team is giving an endurance debuff to the enemy.¡± Silver nodded a couple of times and glanced at Ivar, as he saw him also nodding, he let out a faint smile. ¡°Ivar will be taking the brawler class.¡± ¡°Now, tell us about the mystic and priest.¡± Tara couldn¡¯t help but be slightly confused, she would of course have thought that Silver would pick the ¡®lancer¡¯ class for Ivar, but he agreed on picking the brawler class without thinking twice. This time, Tara couldn¡¯t hold back her curiosity and asked Silver. ¡°May I ask why you picked the brawler class instead of the lancer class?¡± Silver smiled and replied the second he heard her question. ¡°In regard to the overall bonuses and buffs you spoke about, lancers should be way more important than brawlers. But, you seem to have forgotten one crucial thing; we¡¯re all rookies.¡± He shook his head slightly as he continued speaking with confidence. ¡°Even if brawlers don¡¯t have those buffs, it would be enough if we can survive. Besides, who said that the brawler class won¡¯t be good? A class is a class, it doesn¡¯t matter who uses it, they will be able to do the same thing, right? Heh, sadly I don¡¯t think it¡¯s like that. There should exist people who can use their own class more efficiently than others. Even if the lancer class is superior to the brawler class, that doesn¡¯t mean that every lancer out there are greater than the brawlers.¡±Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. ¡°Silver, after hearing you say this, I will want to try being a lancer.¡± Ivar interrupted Silver. ¡°Even if it is tough and would take lots of practice, I will manage in the end to stand firm!¡± He spoke with a serious tone and didn¡¯t back down when Silver glanced at him. Tara couldn¡¯t help but nod in approval after thinking about it for a second. ¡°You asked about mystics and priests, right?¡± She quickly thought about the main points and spoke without hesitation. ¡°The difference between priests and mystics should be large. Priests themselves focus only on healing while mystics have a large variety of other skills they can use.¡± ¡°Priests as I said focus on healing, they have spells which heals over time, group heal, and focus heal.¡± ¡°While mystics have only focus heal as their healing ability. But, regarding other skills; they can summon minions to fight, give buff to the team and debuff the enemy.¡± Silver lowered his head once again, deep in thought. He slowly turned around and glanced at Sylvia, he wasn¡¯t truly sure which one would fit Sylvia the best. Regarding being simple; priests should be the best. But in the overall situation; mystics should be more helpful. Sylvia also understood the main points of both classes and she could clearly see that Silver was struggling in figuring out which one would be the best. If I¡¯m not mistaken, Silver thinks that the mystic class would be more helpful for the group and priests could only help in healing. ¡°Silver, I can pick the mystic class.¡± Sylvia tried to raise her voice, but her voice could only reach a couple of meters before disappearing into thin air. Silver could only gratefully glance at Sylvia before glancing at Sarah. ¡°Sarah, what will you be deciding on, close combat or range combat class?¡± Sarah thought for a moment before replying. ¡°Close combat.¡± Silver then turned around towards Tara. ¡°Seems like we will be picking the mystic class for Sylvia, would you mind telling us about the close combat classes now?¡± Tara nodded and counted on her fingers while speaking. ¡°Slayer, warrior, berserker, reaper and valkyrie.¡± ¡°Slayer is a class where you need to be fluid with your movements and overlap most of your skills into a combo. If you use the skills separately, they will be slow. But, if you overlap them, they will become faster and stronger.¡± ¡°Warrior is a class based on speed and some burst. There is not much to speak of them besides that you need to slightly focus on when you¡¯re going to do burst damage.¡± Silver raised his hand and stopped Tara from continuing. ¡°You said speed and burst, does this mean that the warrior class have minor skill where they can add up to in using a burst skill?¡± ¡°Ah, yes.¡± Tara was still shocked by how quickly Silver was able to catch up on these details. ¡°The warrior class has a burst skill which they can only use after having gathered 10 edge. These edge¡¯s I spoke about is automatically gathered when using any skills, when having the warrior class, you will be able to see how many edge you have currently gathered on an enemy.¡± Silver nodded and gestured with his hand towards Tara to continue explaining other classes. Sarah saw Silver¡¯s actions clearly. She was at first slightly interested with the warrior class, but she felt disappointed by the ¡®edge¡¯ system. ¡°Reapers are those who wear scythes connected through chains, they have abilities to combo their attack to become stronger and faster, the same as slayers. They have close combat and mid-range reach.¡± Tara stopped explaining when she saw that neither Silver or Sarah was interested in that class. ¡°The next class is; berserker. They are wielding giant axes which they usually just swing and hammer things with it.¡± Tara could only explain that much about the berserker class, she wasn¡¯t an expert on every class and could only explain things from what she has personally seen. Sarah¡¯s eyes suddenly brightened, and she quickly spoke up. ¡°I want to be a berserker.¡± ¡°Could you tell me about the last class now?¡± Silver asked Tara, he wanted to know each class before deciding one. Tara thought for a few seconds before answering. ¡°Yes, the valkyrie class is slightly strange. In regard from what I have seen, they are a mix of the warrior class and berserker class.¡± Silver slightly raised his eyebrows. ¡°They aren¡¯t fast as warriors, but they are not slow at all. Valkyries have a special ability which you can learn after having mastered most skills; Ragnarok. Ragnarok is a skill which boosts their strength for a short amount of time which makes them the most powerful class during that time period.¡± Tara said in a low tone, she personally hadn¡¯t seen many valkyries, but she knew a few of them. ¡°From what I have heard and seen, they are only depended only on their burst attacks, if you consider their damage output for on their average skills and attacks, then they should be the weakest class. But, they have four or five skills which are really strong which makes it a lot higher than most other classes, especially during their Ragnarok mode.¡± Silver felt something strange in his body, his body shook the moment he heard about the abilities of the valkyrie class. It was like his body and soul wanted to pick the valkyrie class by all means. ¡°I, I will pick the valkyrie class!¡± Silver didn¡¯t hesitate any longer and decided upon the gut feeling he had. Chapter 3 - Obtaining classes ¡°Are you sure about that?¡± Tara asked Silver, of all the classes, she knew the least about berserkers and valkyries. She had been in countless battles and seen the large variety of how weak and strong a valkyrie can be. Tara might have seen a thousand valkyries in battle, but not many of them were able to utilize their class to the best usage. Silver nodded slowly, he knew that his soul and body wished for the valkyrie class. So why should he hesitate any longer? ¡°Alright.¡± After seeing Silver nod, Tara could only accept it. ¡°Follow me to the camp, I will personally give you guys the equipment and class which you picked.¡± Tara said then turned around and walked away. The twins behind her didn¡¯t speak nor make any expression during the whole exchange, they only followed Tara and would only act on her orders. Silver turned towards his group and let out a faint smile. ¡°Let¡¯s go.¡± As they were walking they could see the green plains and the blue sky. Ivar, Sylvia and Sarah could only gasp of the beautiful view, but they quickly put that thought away and followed Silver. Sarah who managed to get a glimpse of Silver¡¯s expression got slightly frustrated. She could clearly see that Ivar, Sylvia and she herself were glancing everyone and could only think of the amazing view. But, Silver himself were in deep thought with a small frown on his face. How is he even able to keep himself calm during all these? He¡¯s not even glancing at anything, what is he even thinking about? Sarah was most likely only a year or two older than Silver, but she felt inferior to Silver in every single way since arriving to this world. After walking for a couple of minutes they arrived near a camp with several raised white tents. There stood guards with different type of weapons on their back, they didn¡¯t feel strange when they saw Tara returning with four unknown people. That was mainly because this would regularly happen once a month. Tara walked past the guards and headed towards the largest tent. She walked in and sat down on a chair behind a desk. Silver glanced around the tent, seeing that it didn¡¯t have lots of things in it besides lots of paperwork on the desk. ¡°Well¡?¡± He asked with a little smile on his face. Tara smirked for a moment, she was somewhat getting excited because she hoped what she was going to do would make Silver react in some way. She lifted her right hand up and then four different orbs appeared in her hand. Ivar¡¯s mouth went agape, Sylvia placed a hand in front of her mouth and widened her mouth and Sarah¡¯s expression froze. While seeing that, Tara smirk grew larger. When she glanced at Silver, her smirk froze, and her expression darkened. ¡°Ah, well, this is interesting enough, I guess.¡± Silver said without showing any expression, even his eyelids were half-open, as he was about to sleep. ¡°If I¡¯m not mistaken, these should grant us the abilities of the classes we picked, right?¡± He let out a yawn as he was asking Tara. Tara¡¯s face twitched and her hand holding the orbs shook, almost letting the orbs fall from her palm. She gritted her teeth and asked Silver with an annoyed tone. ¡°Why do you never get surprised and how the hell can you guess almost everything!?¡± At this time, even Sarah, Sylvia and Ivar glanced at Silver, wanting to know the answer. They of course felt themselves calmer when being near Silver, but if he wasn¡¯t there they could only panic. Silver glanced behind him, seeing that everyone was waiting for an answer. He let out a bitter laugh and shrugged. ¡°I don¡¯t know.¡± Before they could speak up, Silver continued speaking. ¡°Sylvia, Ivar and Sarah over there still have their memories intact. Let me ask you this then, have anyone who was brought here without any memories of their past?¡± As he saw Tara shook her head, Silver continued. ¡°I on the other hand can¡¯t remember anything.¡± Tara widened her eyes for a moment. If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. ¡°But, I have a feeling that these things which has been shown here so far should be common.¡± Silver shook his head for a second. ¡°I don¡¯t know why I feel these things are common even if I know they shouldn¡¯t. Hehe, even I¡¯m not sure why I can keep myself calm, but I know at least something.¡± The more he spoke, the lower his voice became. ¡°There should be someone waiting for me.¡± The last sentence Silver spoke was so low that he thought that no one could hear it. Silver shrugged once more and glanced at the orbs in Tara¡¯s palm. What Silver didn¡¯t know was that behind him, Sarah¡¯s body shook for a moment and her eyes shivered. Someone¡¯s waiting for him? Sarah managed to hear Silver¡¯s last sentence clearly. ¡°Yes, these are the classes for you.¡± Tara absent-mindedly said. ¡°Hm¡ How do they work?¡± Silver tilted his head a little and asked a real question for once. Tara smiled bitterly. ¡°These were made by Goddess Velik. After having known that outsiders like you guys would arrive, she simplified the different classes we had in this world for those who wanted to fight by our side.¡± ¡°How do they work?¡± Silver asked once more, even while not showing lots of emotions, he listened carefully to Tara¡¯s words. ¡°After having placed this orb near your chest, it would absorb itself into your body.¡± Tara said while being proud. ¡°These orbs which contains the classes would give you every ability of that class, but you wouldn¡¯t be able to use them all before your body adapts to it.¡± Silver raised his eyebrows slightly. ¡°You¡¯re saying that we¡¯re limited to the class because of our strength?¡± ¡°Yes.¡± Tara nodded calmly, she has slowly getting used to Silver¡¯s monstrous mental ability to adapt. ¡°This one is the lancer class.¡± As Tara was speaking, she held out an orb which shined like steel. Ivar stepped forward and accepted the orb. He didn¡¯t place it near his chest at once because he saw Silver shook his head. ¡°Let¡¯s do it together.¡± Silver only left those words. Ivar nodded and held the orb in his palm. ¡°Here¡¯s the mystic class.¡± The next orb was shining purple-ish and had an ominous aura. Sylvia meekly stepped forward and took the orb from Tara. ¡°Berserker is the next now.¡± The next orb was bigger than the rest and it had a strong pressure coming out from it. Sarah didn¡¯t bat an eye and grabbed the orb from Tara. Her eyes glittered for a moment as she was glancing at Silver. ¡°Well, here is the last class; valkyrie.¡± Tara said so and glanced at Silver. Silver stared at the last orb. The orb didn¡¯t look special, but Silver felt that this orb was more fearful than the others. His breath grew heavier as he felt the orb was hiding an unbelievable power waiting for him. He stepped forward and picked the last orb. He then turned towards Ivar, Sarah and Sylvia and nodded. They all slowly placed their orbs near their chest and it slowly entered their bodies. Keeping their eyes shut, they couldn¡¯t think of anything else than the knowledge they were receiving. Tara kept herself quiet as she knew this was important for them to fully understand their own class abilities. Sylvia opened her eyes the first after two minutes, half a minute Ivar opened his eyes. Not a couple of seconds later, even Sarah opened her eyes. They smiled as they could remember everything clearly. They then glanced as each other, seeing that they also had the same expression. Finally, their eyes landed on Silver¡¯s body, they were slightly shocked when they saw him still having his eyes closed. After two minute later, Silver opened his eyes. Feeling slightly embarrassed having everyone staring at him, he shrugged and asked. ¡°What are you guys staring at, a clown?¡± ¡°No, a monster¡¡± Sarah said as she was narrowing her eyes. Everyone else nodded their heads multiply times, wanting to show how much they agreed with Sarah. Silver¡¯s eyes widened for a moment and his mouth agape by their reaction. ¡°It might be that my class just took longer, no need to worry about these things.¡± He then turned towards Tara. ¡°Could we have equipments? And are there any place we could practice our new abilities?¡± Tara nodded and stood up. She flicked her finger and four rings appeared. One was metallic, the second one one was purple-ish, the third one was thick and looked heavy while the last one looked quite simple. ¡°Just wear those rings and your mind should make a bond with the ring. You can at any time place things inside the rings and take them out, just remember the amount is limited and if you want a larger one you would have to pay for it yourself.¡± They nodded and took their respective rings and wore it. After feeling a bond between themselves and the ring they could clearly sense there was an armour and a weapon in the ring. With a thought, they wanted to summon the armour and the weapon. ¡°Woah!¡± Their simple clothes changed with armour. Ivar¡¯s body was covered in a metallic armour with a shield and a lance behind his back. Sylvia wore a purple-ish cloak with a small staff was placed near her waist. Sarah wore a metallic armour almost as large as Ivar¡¯s, but the main difference was that behind her back was a heavy axe larger than her body. Silver was wearing a light armour; the armour was coloured in red and black. Behind his back was a large glaive, or to speak more correctly; a runeglaive suited only for valkyries. The four of them stood there with their armour equipped and weapons on their backs with smiles on their faces. Chapter 4 - Abilities ¡°Haha.¡± Tara laughed a little. ¡°You guys can go outside, there are some weak wild animals a few hundred meters away from the camp, familiar yourself with your class and equipment.¡± Silver nodded and walked out, behind him followed Sylvia, Ivar and Sarah. As they were walking out of the camp, none of the guards stopped them or asked anything. After they reached outside, Ivar finally breathed out in relief. ¡°Wow, that was pressuring.¡± Sylvia nodded meekly. Even if Sarah didn¡¯t nod, she felt the same. ¡°Let me say this in advance.¡± Silver said with a serious tone. ¡°Since I came to this world, I felt there was something calling me out. After getting the valkyrie class, I know that I need to grow stronger.¡± ¡°My path in becoming strong would most likely be filled with hardships and I might even lose my life.¡± ¡°I will not force you three to follow my path. With the classes you guys have decided, you would have someone to heal, the second to hold the front and the last to deal damage.¡± After saying this, Silver didn¡¯t speak any longer and walked away. The three stood there like statues, they were of course afraid of dying and had to think deeply over what Silver was saying. As Sarah thought about it, she raised her head and glanced at the lonely back of Silver walking away without turning around. Her heart unknowingly beat faster, and she swiftly ran towards Silver. Following Sarah, Sylvia hurriedly tottered along. ¡°What should I do¡¡± Ivar shook his head and grit his teeth before rushing towards Silver and the rest. Silver heard their footsteps and turned around staring at Sarah, Sylvia and Ivar in turn and spoke in a light manner. ¡°Are you guys sure that you want to follow me?¡± Sylvia was the first one to nod, she was at least not stupid enough to think that she could survive in this world with a group not knowing what to do. She held Silver in high esteem because of his every move were calm and calculated. ¡°I will follow along.¡± Ivar was the second one to agree. Even after having those two agree with following Silver, Sarah could still feel the lonely aura from Silver. Her eyes shined brightly, and she opened her mouth as she stared deeply into Silver¡¯s eyes. ¡°Silver, let me be your companion, I will follow your orders!¡± Silver was slightly shocked, but he quickly smiled and nodded towards Sarah. As they were walking further ahead from the camp, Silver asked without glancing back. ¡°Ivar, tell me about the knowledge you obtained about your class.¡± Ivar nodded and started to speak. ¡°¡¯ As powerful in defence as in attack, the lancer¡¯s role in a fight is at the head of the formation. His heavy shield absorbs damage, while his lance provides striking power that¡¯s targeted yet effective against multiple foes. Numerous skills for drawing aggro let the lancer take the heat and give his party members more opportunities. Lancers can minimize damage to their own party and help them devastate the enemy.¡¯ This was the first quote I could hear in my mind when that orb entered my body.¡± ¡°Lancers are supposed to be a bastion and a battering ram in the battlefield.¡± ¡°As a lancer, its¡¯ shield not only protect myself, it also protects everyone behind me. We the lancers are a walking safe spot for the wounded as they escape, and a refugee for ranged fighters who want to get in closer.¡± ¡°Not only that, besides pinning down the foes and shrugging off their attacks, lancers can drive forward, drilling through anything in front of them, mowing down multiple targets as easily as one.¡± ¡°A moving shield and a mowing lance.¡± Silver nodded a couple of times. ¡°It sounds great when it¡¯s simplified, we will see how it works later.¡± He then turned towards Sylvia and asked. ¡°Sylvia, would you mind telling us about the mystic class?¡± ¡°Mhm.¡± Sylvia nodded happily and recited the first quote she heard in her mind when the orb entered her body. This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience. ¡°¡¯Mystics walk a wild path, wielding primal powers to heal allies, summon thralls, and curse their foes. Mystics travel the battlefield freely, helping where they can and anticipating the enemy¡¯s next moves. If you can keep up, the safest place in the world to stand is near a mystic.¡¯¡± ¡°Mystics in the over situation is a creator and destroyer.¡± ¡°In comparison to other classes, mystics have control over the flow of battle. Strategically placing health and mana replenishing orbs around the battlefield and generate auras that enhance critical hits and movement speed.¡± Silver raised his hand after Sylvia finished speaking about the ¡®creator¡¯ part. ¡°You said something about health and mana replenishing orbs, do you mean that these ¡®orbs¡¯ you can make can improve people if they are injured and those who are low on magical power?¡± ¡°Yes!¡± Sylvia nodded happily when she saw that Silver managing to understand their abilities with just a glance. ¡°Huh, how do you know about magical power?¡± She quickly asked as she thought she was the only one knowing about magical power. ¡°I¡¯ll tell you when I¡¯ll describe my class, you can just continue for now.¡± Silver smiled and motioned his hand for her to continue talking. Sylvia nodded and continued without stuttering. ¡°They are destroyer of the battlefield. Mystics stuns, curses, sears and smites enemies. They can dispel buffs on foes and debuff on allies with a simple gesture and can drain health from opponents and transform it into magical power for allies. A mystic¡¯s thralls are devastating allies that can stand claw to claw with the deadliest of enemies.¡± ¡°Hehe, they seem useful as I thought.¡± Silver felt happy that Sylvia picked the mystic class. ¡°Sarah, if you don¡¯t mind.¡± He said in a slightly gentler voice as he spoke towards Sarah. And of course, did they catch up on that difference, while Silver was still smiling, it was an indifferent one towards Ivar and Sylvia. Whereas his smile was gentle as the morning sun towards Sarah. Sarah nodded and felt happy that she decided to trust her gut-feeling. ¡°¡¯The berserker is an offensive juggernaut with better-than-average defensive capabilities, heavy armour and an axe block that absorbs damage. Their capacity for sheer destruction gives them a place of honour in any party.¡¯¡± ¡°The two points of berserkers which was the most important ones were frontal assault and siege breaker.¡± ¡°As a frontal assaulter, berserkers lives for combat. As they move from one downed opponent to the next, berserkers must keep attacking to generate magical power. They are like rabid giants, with axes.¡± Even Sarah knew the existence of magical power, but she didn¡¯t bother telling that to Sylvia when she was worked up when knowing that Silver also knew it. ¡°The siege breaker; a berserker on the front lines scatters, stuns, knocks down, and spins around their opponents. There¡¯s no formation they can¡¯t disrupt, and no opponents too big to fell.¡± Even she herself was starting to grow impatient, wanting to know more about her class. ¡°It seems like all of you picked great classes.¡± Silver smiled faintly. ¡°What about your class?¡± Ivar asked as he did really want to know more about the valkyrie class. Sylvia and Sarah did also nod in agreement. ¡°Of course, I was about to talk about it now.¡± Silver¡¯s faint smile turned into one of a bitter, but he shrugged and started talking. ¡°¡¯ Using their intricately carved runeglaive, the valkyrie brands runemarks onto enemies and explodes them for massive damage. they mix slashes, leaping attacks, and power slams to destroy their foes, maximizing the effectiveness of their critical hits while nimbly evading damage.¡¯¡± ¡°As it was mentioned, valkyrie is a class which used both force and magical power in their attacks, or more refereed to; runemarks.¡± Silver stopped for moment and glanced at them before continuing. ¡°Valkyries aren''t concerned with subtlety on the battlefield. Their philosophy is ¡®kill them all, and then find someone else to kill.¡¯¡± ¡°Weapons are meant to be used, not admired, and how the valkyrie uses their runeglaive reflects that. If they¡¯re not branding you with a runemark, they¡¯re exploding one in your face, knocking you up in the air, or using it to draw you in for the kill.¡± Silver took his time and breathed calmly before finishing up. ¡°The seven runes carved into a valkyrie''s weapon aren''t just for decoration, they''re a recipe for destruction. Every time they score a hit, they brand one of them onto their opponent. After that it''s no longer a question of if they''ll kill their foe, but when!¡± ¡°Wow!¡± Sylvia was the first one to voice out her reaction. ¡°that is crazy, are valkyries a class for battle maniacs!?¡± After voicing out her thoughts, she quickly held her hand in front of her mouth and stared at Silver, wanting to see his reaction. Silver didn¡¯t care and agreed with her with a nod. ¡°Yes, the valkyrie class was supposed to be forgotten long time ago, but it seems like the Alliance managed to keep it alive and turn it into a class.¡± ¡°From all the extra information I got, it all clearly showed the valkyries were a violent part of a demonic race called; Castanics. They soared through battlefields and fought to protect their homelands.¡± ¡°They seem like a class you would have fit very well in.¡± Ivar voiced out his thoughts too. ¡°Haha, well, it might because of that I felt bonded with the valkyrie orb.¡± Silver smiled and shrugged. ¡°It¡¯s great that you have a class which is suited for you.¡± Sarah spoke and nodded towards Silver. The moment they were about to talk more in details about their own classes, they could see they were a long way away from the camp and could hear growls of wild animals near them. Chapter 5 - Beast Just by hearing the growl, Ivar and Sylvia trembled slightly. Sarah on the other hand reacted and drew her large axe in front of her body. Silver swiftly turned towards where he heard the growl and narrowed his eyes. ¡°Stay calm.¡± He said softly and moved his right hand towards his runeglaive. ¡°Ivar, you¡¯ll be our vanguard.¡± ¡°Sylvia, you stay on the sides, do help where you see fit with the knowledge you obtained earlier.¡± ¡°Sarah, you and I will be taking the opportunity and harm the monster when there are openings.¡± After he finished speaking, he moved sideways. Sarah quickly followed him, and she gripped her axe harder. Sylvia didn¡¯t move that far away from Ivar, but she closed her eyes, her mouth opened and chanted slowly in a voice no one could hear. ¡°By the hand of the Gods, turn merciless and slay our enemies in front us; Aura of the Merciless!¡± ¡°Stand tall and do not fall, strong like a God and stay firm like a mountain; Aura of the Tenacious!¡± A great light erupted from Sylvia as she held her sceptre to the surrounding fifty meters engulfing Ivar, Sarah and Silver. Silver clearly felt his body reacting to the light which erupted from Sylvia, and he could sense that it benefited him greatly. ¡°It seems like our limit is a radius of 50 meters, don¡¯t leave the space!¡± Silver hollered and glanced towards where he thought the beast would appear from. ¡°Uwaah!¡± Ivar roared and lifted his shield in front of himself and the lance by his side. His eyes narrowed as he stared at the beast coming out from the horizon. The beast was walking on four, its height seemed to be the same as normal human, it had dark fur which seemed to be harder than metal and fangs piercing out of his mouth. ¡°Growl!¡± A nasty growl escaped the beast¡¯s mouth as it glared at the four humans. ¡°It seems to be similar to wolfs and dogs, be wary of the speed, bites and claws!¡± Silver spoke hurriedly and stopped walking, he was around 17 meters away from Ivar, Sarah was standing to his left. Ivar nodded and stepped forward heavily and stood in front of the Sylvia. The beast hastened its speed and rushed towards Ivar. Ivar seeing that the beast targeting himself, let out a smile and didn¡¯t move. As the beast saw the human not doing anything special, it lifted a paw smacked it towards Ivar when it got close. Ivar¡¯s smile turned into a grin and lifted his shield towards the paw. ¡°Boom!¡± After a loud sound, all that could be seen was the paw standing still on the shield and Ivar standing still. ¡°Heh, I¡¯m a lancer, you bastard!¡± He yelled and stabbed his lance towards the stomach of the beast. ¡°Roarrrr!¡± The beast roared and sent another paw towards Ivar, but this time from another direction. Ivar hastily moved his shield towards the paw to intercept it. As he was blocking the paws, sweat could be seen on his face. As the beast fought with Ivar, it quickly noticed that it couldn¡¯t break the shield. It sniffed and glared at Sylvia behind Ivar before wanting to pounce towards her. ¡°Like hell I would let you!¡± Ivar screamed and quickly stood in front of the beast once more with his shield blocking the beast. Ivar¡¯s eyes were bloodshot, but he stood firmly on his feet. The beast once more growled loudly before wanting to pounce towards Ivar. Before that could happen, a large axe descended from above and cut the rear of the beast. Not a moment later, a runeglaive followed and heavily slashed towards the beast. If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. ¡°ROAR!¡± The beast roared, wanting to turn around. But, once again, Ivar stopped it. He slammed his shield towards the beast¡¯s face and made it angry. ¡°Don¡¯t you dare turning around!¡± ¡°Good, keep it up!¡± Silver hollered before lifting his runeglaive once more and slashed with a fluid movement. The strange thing was whenever Silver slashed a runemark on his glaive would lighten up. Sarah wasn¡¯t standing still either, she stepped backward and held her axe below her body for a few seconds before unleashing an unbelievable mighty attack towards the beast. ¡°For Thy who is our enemy, receive the curse of illness; Contagion!¡± Sylvia chanted once more before lifting her sceptre towards the sky. A pink light shined from it and entered the beast. ¡°Roar!¡± The beast roared non-stop in bellow. ¡°Runeburst!¡± Silver¡¯s voice sounded out while he took a stance with his runeglaive. The next moment, the seven runemarks on his runeglaive vanished as seven explosions attacks the beast¡¯s back. ¡°Bang!¡± ¡°UWAA!¡± The beast howled in agony, it was not able to escape because of the large shield, and it was getting injured rapidly by those humans behind him. ¡°Don¡¯t attack yet, it is getting desperate. Block it if it tries to escape and only attack with good enough openings!¡± Silver roared as he stepped back. Not doubting his orders, Sarah stopped her attack and stepped back. ¡°Ivar, do not attack, only focus on blocking him with your shield!¡± Silver continued ordering around as he glanced around while focusing on the beast. Silver was easily able to see that the beast was going insane. The beast stood still for a moment before its¡¯ eyes turned blood red. Its body didn¡¯t tremble any longer because of the injures, it sent Ivar a cold stare before pouncing on him. More sweat started running down Ivar¡¯s face, just trying to block the beast was a huge challenge. Ivar had no idea that he would be able to fight against a monster, or a large beast. But, the moment he saw the beast, his mind turned calm and he did what the ¡®Lancer¡¯ class was supposed to do; block the enemy! ¡°I won¡¯t let you!¡± Ivar roared as he held his shield with all his might. Sweat could be seen running down on Ivar¡¯s face, his hands were numb from holding the shield against the beast, but he adamantly held on. ¡°NOW!¡± Silver roared his lungs out as he hurled himself towards the beast with the quickest speed he could muster. Silver held his runeglaive behind him as he ran, when Silver approached three meters away from the beast, he jumped up high, sending his own runeglaive hurling downwards towards the beast¡¯s back. Not even a moment later, a large axe was being smashed towards the beast. Sarah was gripping her axe, using all her might in attacking the beast for the last time. ¡°Crack!¡± A cracking sound could be loudly heard as the runeglaive and the axe entered deeply into the beast¡¯s body, which sent it to the ground, not making any more sound. A second later, Ivar fell backwards, not having any strength left in his own body. Sylvia hurriedly ran towards Ivar, asking him with a concerned voice. ¡°Ivar, are you alright?¡± Ivar nodded weakly as he stared at the blue sky. Sarah on the other hand, took her axe from the dead body of the beast. After she glanced at it, she saw that it was bloodied, Sarah did understand that she had to clean her axe, or it would get rusty. Silver also lifted his runeglaive from the beast¡¯s body, still keeping up his smile as he transferred his runeglaive to his space inventory inside of his ring. ¡°That was an interesting fight, it seems like that the class changes allowed us to stay calm in battle.¡± After going through the memory of the fight, everyone swiftly understood that it was weird how calm they handled the situation. ¡°It was scary¡ But, I am glad that we managed to win without suffering injuries.¡± Sylvia meekly spoke as she glanced at everyone. ¡°Ivar, get up, we better leave before we meet other beasts.¡± Silver glanced around as he spoke, before thinking about it, he touched the beast and wanted it in his space inventory. Not a second later, the dead body of the beast vanished. ¡°How?¡± Sarah asked as she as surprised by the sudden disappearance of the body. ¡°Our rings.¡± Silver answered as he didn¡¯t glance at Sarah. ¡°I thought that we could place anything inside as long as it¡¯s not alive. Then, why not a dead body?¡± ¡°Besides, I do think that this might be worth something. Let¡¯s bring this back to Captain Tara.¡± Sarah nodded as she glanced towards Ivar and Sylvia. Ivar was already standing up, he also felt his weight, therefore he placed his shield and lance in his space inventory. ¡°It would be better if we could have decent clothes besides the armours. They are quite heavy¡¡± When hearing this, Sylvia and Sarah both had their hopes up. Of course, both of them like to wear beautiful clothes and not armour or robes¡ ¡°Hahaha.¡± Silver laughed happily as he started walking towards the camp when he saw the three of them wanting new clothes. ¡°Let¡¯s go back and see how much this beast is worth.¡± ¡°I can at least promise one thing, we will have a lot of beautiful clothes in the future when we are strong and rich, hahaha.¡± Silver continued laughing heartily, but deep inside, he did also thought of wearing a certain type of clothes which would suit him¡
