《Lys》 Last Mission, First Nightmare [Chapter 1] Every story has a start, every world is born of an idea, a simple thought that transcends logic or human comprehension. Everything that exists has an opposite, a nemesis, an antithesis. For light to be able to exist, there must be darkness, so it is to water and fire. In what it¡¯s considered as the mortal plane, where humans live in majority, forming great civilizations that started hundreds of years in the past, some even almost being a thousand years old, fallen and risen back in different parts of the history that transpires in said plane, in lands where tragedies and conflicts abound, away from the eyes of the royalty, there begins this story. A young woman in the city of Wunor, the capital city of Takia, one of the central and more prosper human kingdoms, of dark and long hair tied up, untied could reach below the shoulders, tall compared to the normal feminine height, hiding a body shaped with a strong physical training behind black tinted clothes, everything in her seemed to be perfectly put to allow for better movement, there she waited the signal from a man at his side. The light of the moon was the only one illuminating the two of them, he was covered from toes to head with dark clothes almost as identical as those worn by the woman that he was leading, only some strands of brown hair were barely visible, his face look severe and cold, with a penetrating gaze. They were standing on a roof somewhat steep and difficult to travel by someone lacked in real training, from there you could see almost all the rest of the city, or at least it gave that feeling. A tall building could only indicate one thing in that city, it was the home of a member of the nobility who ruled over all the lands of Takya. Although the current monarch was not particularly cruel, he was not free of sins as expected of someone in such a high position, yet he was highly respected along with his nobility by the common people. The woman moved through that roof with surprising ease, following his partner who at the moment was acting only as a guide, going to the other end of that roof with the intention of entering the mansion through a window that leaded to a room that according to the information they had gathered before, it was supposed to be empty. Their objective was simple, they had to go inside and kill the head of the family who was suspected of colluding with rebel groups against the monarchy, such an act was clearly unacceptable and the penalty was death, but there wasn¡¯t enough evidence to condemn such an important nobleman family, and that is why they were there, doing the dirty work for the good of the kingdom. The young woman carried the name of Allyson, lacking family and therefore also a surname, and who accompanied him was known among the bloody crows as Sauvre, one of the best and most lethal of all the assassins who composed that organization. The man signaled to his companion the right moment to travel safely through that place, paying great attention to any sound that could be heard from the surroundings. But after all, in those hours of the night few were those who dared to leave their home knowing of the increasing crime in the capital, even being in one of the districts of the nobility only a few guards crossed the streets and for those trained in the art of stealth, it only required a good movement, balance of the body and control of the field of vision of others to go unnoticed. It was clear that the clothes helped in that task and the low light of the moon only made it easier for them to enter. The man hanged with strength to the edge of the roof, his gaze was nailed on that window while the air seemed to change its course, to be molded according to his desires, pushing and opening with incredible precision and smoothness the window they were supposed to cross to then swing and jump inside, all in just a short time, less than even a minute, a guard in the streets didn¡¯t even finish turning around and both were already inside. The information was true, it was a room in disuse, full of dust and some old furniture, it was clear that there was nothing of real value there, yet stealing was never their initial goal. Sauvre turns around watching Allyson as he quickly brings his hand to his own mouth, resting a single finger in front of his lips in a clear sign of silence. The woman responded with an expression almost of anger at the irony of that gesture, while the man only smiled under the mask that covered his face, a gesture that could only be noted by the movement of his eyes. Allyson wasn¡¯t a great assassin, in fact that mission would be the first in which she would actually execute someone because until then she had always been more of an explorer or simply a spy, gathering information either for targets to assassinate or incriminate as it became necessary, as it was seen as a benefit to the kingdom. However, there were two main reasons why she was quite good at her job. The main one is that she knew how to write, a rarity since the majority of the common people were illiterate lacking this capacity, that came in handy for the necessary reports with detailed information about everything she could hear or see. But there was a second reason why she was so good at what she did, the young member of the bloody crows was mute. Having been born incapable of speaking, she lived a difficult life due to that birth defect that no doctor could ever explain and no healer was able to cure, nevertheless that''s what made her so good for the kind of work in which she ended up involving so many months ago. ¡°Doesn¡¯t seem to be anyone nearby.¡± Sauvre said, his face returned to that severe and penetrating look, his tone of voice was quite low and soft to avoid being discovered. Although for time it was, most probably everyone in there were asleep, but no good assassin will ever trust just in their luck to move on. Allyson raised her hand in a clear sign stop to his partner, closing her eyes to concentrate on her ears, trying to listen to everything that could be heard in that place. She could feel a voice in the distance, maybe a couple of rooms away. ¡°This can not go on like this, we must act ... besides its already time for the lineage of fire to end.¡± It was the voice of a man in a slightly muted tone to avoid awakening the servants and other members of the family. It was clear from his tone and the words used that he did not intend any good, for the lineage of fire could only refer to the royal family that had ruled Takya for more than six generations. ¡°It''s sad, but it''s the only way to eliminate the crows.¡± Did she just hear correctly? No one should know of the existence of the bloody crows, only the highest nobility and royalty. And why did they talk about getting rid of it? At that moment the woman felt confused, frowning and reopening her eyes to look with a gesture of strangeness towards Sauvre, who simply made a slight movement with his hand, a personal sign between the two to ask what was happening. This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. She denied without further ado, from what she was hearing it was clear that one of those two men should be her target, who was suspected of betraying the crown, it was the only explanation, but she feared that perhaps they already knew of their imminent arrival if they already knew too of their secret existence and sought to eliminate them. Two simple and quick movements with the hand towards the exit door of the room were marked, then his fist was closed leaving only two fingers as the last sign. The man nodded fully understanding those signs, they had been partners for a year, and he had become accustomed to the pleasant silence of his mute companion, they formed an excellent team after all those months and countless missions of espionage and assassination through the kingdom and even outside it, their coordination was impeccable and both knew the weaknesses and strengths of each one. However, hidden behind that mask, Sauvre maintained an almost sad expression, because he had received personal orders from the leader of the Bloody Crows, orders that part of him would have never wanted to hear, because he knew he could not ignore them knowing the high price to pay for disobeying his boss. Gossips and legends said that death wasn¡¯t to be feared among the crows, betrayal in the other hand, was rumored to be punished with years of torture by the hand of the best torturer in the kingdom, maybe even the whole world. ¡°Let''s move. Now.¡± he said in a low tone, quickly opening the door with incredible subtlety and speed, as if he knew perfectly what kind of noises it was capable of making with only a small inspection of his gaze. Facing both was now a long corridor decorated with ornaments and pictures worthy of a home of someone extremely wealthy, a large quantity of doors that led to different rooms, the size of that mansion was undoubtedly incredible, surely one of the most important families or maybe even the most, only surpassed by the royal family. The woman patted his partner¡¯s shoulder, pointing instantly to the left side with her free hand, while then she brought her other hand from Sauvre''s shoulder to his dagger sheathed in her leg, slowly sliding it from its sheath, preparing for the worst. The professional assassin nodded in complete silence, passed the first door on the left, making his way to the second. ¡°They have gone out of control ... that someone outside the nobility tried to use the monarch as a puppet while killing anyone who acts against him, is inconceivable, it can¡¯t go on, that damn crow has to die.¡± Strong words that left in evidence the clear intention of murder towards the leader of the organization to which both belonged, however Allyson was surprised to hear those words, something didn¡¯t make sense. But at that precise moment Sauvre snap his fingers gently, forcing his partner to concentrate, his hand was already on the doorknob, on the verge of opening it, it was her turn to act, this was her mission. His other hand left two fingers open, the signal was clear, it was obvious, both had to die. Reacting instantly by pure reflex, the door began to open, and she was already beginning to move with great speed towards it, moving her hands over her dagger and taking it from the edge. As soon as she could cross, that simple knife flew with incredible speed, almost inhuman, burying itself in the forehead of one of the targets. However, in that place there were now two corpses, the two targets had been neutralized in a single movement with two exactly identical daggers buried in the forehead of each individual with brutal precision, the expression in those recently murdered was frozen in complete surprise, defending themselves was simply impossible. Her heart was beating fast, it was the first time she had ended a life, two even, but the movement came out so natural and so fast that she did not even have the time to think, that was the training she had gone through, To the point that her movements were burned into her body, it was not even necessary for her to even think... that she would be acting as she should. ¡°Hum ... good kill.¡± the man said calmly and coldly, now also entering the room, closing it quickly behind him. Allyson was still frozen there, not quite reacting to what she had done, not only done, but also heard. What was really happening? They were the good guys ... Isn¡¯t it? As the protocol indicated she instinctively moved towards the bodies, resting two fingers on the neck of each to take their pulse ... They were dead, there was no doubt that those direct blows to the skull had pierced through and damaged part of the brain causing a quick death. Mission completed, everything was over, it was time to get out of there before they ended up calling the attention of those who were still asleep ¡ ¡°You heard them ... Isn¡¯t it? I know you did Lys, I know you too well, you got better ears than any of the crows ... unfortunately he gave me a different order today, my mission wasn¡¯t to just guide you here. It was to kill you if you heard more than you needed to.¡± The slip of a dagger could be heard coming out of its sheath, that metallic sound, shivers down her spine, she turned with an expression of real horror. It couldn¡¯t be true, she had found a place, a home, however twisted it was it couldn''t compare to all those years living on the streets. She learned to control her body and even more than that, it felt good to do that job and it was good for the kingdom, it was supposed to be. Her legs trembled at the mere thought of having to face his partner, she didn¡¯t want to, it was the last thing she would have wished for. She backed away only a few steps, colliding instantly with the corpses and staggering to the edge of falling. That was her end, it should be, if Sauvre was her enemy there was no way to not die in that situation, she was never able to beat him in any kind of competition, he practically taught her everything she had learned. She knew perfectly well what he was capable of. His face paled almost instantly as a choked and silent crying began, tears fall down from his eyes at that last moment. The assassin moved with a speed simply impossible to match for her, her dagger was already in the air when the last words of Sauvre were heard. ¡°I wish I could shed tears for you, Lys.¡± Suddenly a woman woke up in a barn at the powerful sound of a lightning, lying on a simple pile of straw, her black hair now with gray and white tones mixed in, it makes her seemed older than she was and her eyes bore the mark of someone with a lot of trouble sleeping, although her face still appeared to be of someone young who perhaps barely passed twenty winters. His body that was once trained to be the perfect assassin by a secret organization of the kingdom of Takya now lay there almost devoid of muscle, lost by the hunger suffered from a life devoid of luxuries. Only a nightmare, a heavy memory that had returned to Allyson, depriving her of the dream like an eternal curse that condemned her to never be able to rest... A New Place to Call Home 1 [Chapter 2] After a night of nightmares, only the loneliness in that old barn filled Lys'' mind with the memories she had so long wanted to hide in the depths of her mind. She felt fear, a lot, she feared the repercussions of her actions wherever she went and, above all, she feared her own powers. That which was considered magic was the force of the soul projected through the body and manifested on the mortal plane through the will, it had a strong connection with the mind of its practitioner especially for those who were akin to extravagant elements, her case was one of these. There were more than a dozen elemental affinities that had been discovered up to that time, yet having one affinity was normal, and there was one that did not stand out in anything special like all the others, usually called common affinity. The vast majority of people had it, however this did not mean that they were useless or unable to use their affinities for actions that could break the limits of physics and logic. Lys had three affinities, possessing two was outrageously rare, three was already a very particular case possibly one in a million, and one of those was... troublesome. Each affinity was tied to different feelings that could unleash or enhance it, controlling those feelings was the way to control that power, something that not many people in the world were capable of doing, no matter their soul¡¯s affinity. Although considered prodigious for her age, it did not matter how much dominion she had of the power of her soul, or how many affinities she had, her cause was lost, she did not know how to fight against her enemy, there was no other option but to escape, to hide everything that she once was and try to live with it, with the burden of having possibly murdered two innocents, with the burden of having helped a corrupt organization of the kingdom that saw her be born, which she swore to protect and help with pride, as if when they recruited her, she would have felt the call, that would be her job until the end of her life. She was almost right, it almost became her last job, but that wasn¡¯t the case, she was still alive and now she had to deal with the consequences. Having escaped to the outskirts of the kingdom, the young woman was now seeing the first rays of sunlight through a window in that barn, on a farm far from any city or town, near the borders of the Kingdom of Takya. She had been living in that place for about three weeks now, she was beginning to feel nervous to stay there, fearing to endanger those who had welcomed her. A kind and old couple almost reaching fifty years with their young son who was about to reach fifteen, however the latter seemed much younger due to his small size and stature. Weeks ago when hiding in the nearby town, Allyson witnessed what looked like a robbery. A young man who, at most, seemed about ten or twelve years old, even slightly feminine in appearance, small in stature, with hair as golden as the sun and clear blue eyes, had been forcibly dragged into an alley in that town with clear bad intentions, it was dusk and the reality was that in a town like that so close to the border, the law was almost null, the guards never meddled unless it was too notorious, and by a lucky coincidence, Lys heard what was happening. But it was clear that she couldn¡¯t alarm the guard, after all the young assassin was not only unjustly sought by the law but was also unable to speak, and the chances that a simple night guard could write or even get a paper to write to convey what was happening ... were low, very low. How to act? She asked herself at that moment. She heard the young man''s initial cries before his mouth was covered by those who had captured him. Maybe she was going to make a mistake, maybe it was a simple game, maybe they were going to leave him and only stole some coins and nothing serious would happen ... She knew well that acting there would leave her presence in evidence and if the rumor spread it would not take such a long time before someone ended up there looking for her, they just had to follow the trail and knew well that the crows had informants in almost all parts of the kingdom, she had worked as an informant on several occasions, simply living in a remote village listening to all rumors of criminals or actions against the kingdom to help avoid such actions. Concentrating the energy of her soul in her ears, Lys was able to increase her hearing almost twice as much as a person trained in it, becoming an excellent tracker because of that ability. Even though she was several houses away, she could listen exactly what the raptors were saying, and what she heard ... scared her, a lot. She felt fear, and when she did, a few of the nearby stones begun to tremble and disintegrate. She needed to calm down or worse things could happen. At that moment and by pure instinctive reflex she left, beginning to run with great speed down the street, at the sight of two simple boxes that worked perfectly as a staircase to reach the roof of one of the homes there, gave two simple jumps treading with a subtlety and precision worthy of a trained assassin, reaching the roof and then jumping to the next one. Just below her were those two criminals and the boy they had taken captive. They were ... they were about to abuse the boy, two larger men probably drunk and fresh out of the local tavern, and just as if nothing, as if it were the most common thing in the world, they were about to cause one of the most complex traumas to a simple young man who just happened to pass by. She had to do something, she felt the obligation to do something, she couldn¡¯t bear to live with herself letting that just happen as if nothing, hoping that he could save himself or someone else helps him when she knew perfectly well that it wasn¡¯t possible. However, How does a woman with her training solves that kind of situation? Without a voice there is no easy way to scare the criminals into leaving the poor boy in peace, in fact even being able to speak didn¡¯t assure any success. The reality was that they probably would ignore her or threaten her too, it was a difficult time to be a woman, times where they were only seen as the representation of weakness, unable to become a soldier, unable to even get some important position in something, the cases of this were extremely scarce and the general view was that of disrespect. She had to stay cold-minded, stay calm and control her emotions, think the best way to solve that situation without causing excessive harm to anyone. After concentrating, she finally decided to lean out that roof, stopping at the edge to let the shadow formed by the full moon behind her serve as a warning, in her hand was already her throwing knife, simply pointed to the two criminals, hoping to see a reaction...Stolen novel; please report. Nothing happened, they were still struggling with the boy without even being aware of the presence of Lys, the young assassin sigh, felt his heart speed up as more time passed, she was nervous and it showed, but she couldn¡¯t let fear overtake her or It would happen again, she didn¡¯t want that to happen ever again. At that moment, she took a deep breath, moved her fingers with speed and precision, taking the knife by the cutting edge while pushing back the left arm, throwing the weapon instantly in a sudden impulse of the hand forward. The knife was buried in the wall behind the thugs, both were startled to hear the noise, turned to observe the woman and as expected to throw dozens of insults at her, prompting her to get down. No matter how well-trained in hand-to-hand combat she was, two men with greater height and greater weight in a thin alley against her alone ... was troublesome to say the least, also she wasn¡¯t going to simply fall for their taunt. If she wanted them both to be scared, she had to show them something incredible, something that made them really afraid, and to do that ... she had to control her own fear first. Fear was what controlled her affinity, specialists called it entropy, magic capable of destroying everything around the user, extremely dangerous and in the hands of someone uncontrolled, excessively destructive. It was known as one of the rarest affinities of the soul that existed and Lys had the luck, be it good or bad, to discover that she was akin to that element. Controlled by the desire to impose oneself over whatever your target was, wishing to cause it the worst of fears, and uncontrolled by feeling fear. Her expression became severe, she tried to concentrate as much as she could, stretched out her hands... To the naked eye a woman with a body that little by little was starting to lose the glory that she had once after years of forced physical training, perhaps a little bit higher than the common female, wasn¡¯t someone who could really be imposed over two uninhibited drunkards, who began to laugh at the woman. One of them turned and removed the dagger easily from the wall where it had been nailed, pointing it towards the woman threatening to throw it at her. However, suddenly that same dagger in the man''s hand began to slowly disintegrate from the tip to the handle. The man got scared, dropped the knife. "Witch!" They both shouted, the young man they had caught stood there in complete shock, then in front of Lys two daggers began to be created from thin air, she instantly took both throwing weapons and pointed them at the thugs. They looked at each other backing up a bit, they were drunk but they weren¡¯t that stupid, fighting unarmed against someone they could not reach and was using magic ... it was a very bad idea. Finally, both withdrew leaving the boy there, pushing him with brute strength away as he crashed into the wall, making him shout of pain. That was the son of the two elders with whom she would later live. When she saw them leave, waited for a few moments for them to get far enough away, then descended and tried to see how the young man was, he at first backed away, fearing that maybe she could hurt him, but Lys approached anyway and checked that he didn¡¯t have any real injuries, noticing that they were only blows and nothing major, she turned to leave, the young man nervously tried to stop her, he wanted to at least thank her before she left, however soon the light of a common lamp carried by a guard and the barking of a dog trained to track began to be heard. Allyson stopped and turned to watch the other side of the alley, her expression of fear at the idea of being trapped there gave her away, and the young man with great courage approached his silent savior, took her by the hand and began to run. That''s how she ended up sleeping in the barn of that impoverished family, every day thinking about leaving to avoid causing problems with her presence, but she did not want to feel ungrateful with what they had offered her. She helped in whatever she could do within that simple farm. Almost all the work was done by the young man, the father of little health and old bones because of a life of hard work, couldn¡¯t do much to help, and the brave young man for his small size wanted to keep up with his true age, It was not a healthy life but it was the only life they knew, they were good people who only had suffered the injustices of a tyrant monarch. Those lands where the farm was located were officially from the neighboring kingdom of Takya, the kingdom of Narselles. Currently there were no conflicts between the two kingdoms, but five years ago there were some skirmishes along the borders, Narselles was going hungry and had no choice but to go to war to try to capture some of the territory of Takya which had a richer soil for agriculture, the latter ended the war by signing a peace treaty when the current monarch ascended, inheriting his father''s lineage of fire and showing mercy to the problems of his neighboring kingdom, delivering food as part of the treaty, since then both kingdoms have had good relations. Before that conflict, in that farm, it was not just a simple boy who did all the work, the old couple used to have three children but the two of bigger age were forced to go to the war and both lost their lives leaving a great void in that family. The youngest of the brothers tried to fill that void, but it wasn¡¯t something easy to achieve. His name was Jerre, and it was the main reason why Lys had stayed there for so long. Although initially accepted to stay for a few days out of pure humility and not to pass as ungrateful after the boy took the risk of hiding her at home. When she finally decided to leave, the night she was about to escape she saw something that surprised her, Jerre had left the house with a lamp, but on the way its handle broke and this made him almost lose his only source of light, however the lamp remained hanging from the only left part. With the broken handle, the young man looked everywhere, muttering and bringing his hand to the part where the handle broke, and instantly the lamp fixed itself... She decided to stay after seeing that young man use the power of his soul to repair the lamp, the next day she tried to communicate with hand signs, but after a long time of not being able to understand each other in any way, the young assassin took the boy to the barn, where she took a simple piece of wood and broke it in half, in front of a confused Jerre, she concentrated and as he had done that night, Lys reconstructed the piece of wood again without much effort. That affinity was known as creation or energy in some other kingdoms, an elemental affinity that allowed to modify the matter or even generate it with enough training. Creativity and logical thinking enhanced it, while nervousness made it out of control. It was a very strange affinity to see uncontrolled, but was known to be at the same time the most difficult of all to master, that boy was like her, a prodigy, the mere fact that he could concentrate enough energy to fix that lamp it was proof that despite not having any training he could already execute at least simple tricks. The boy had already seen that skill in the assassin the day she saved his life, but it was she who did not know about him, at that moment Lys pointed to the restored wood and then pointed to her eyes and finally to Jerre, it was clear what she wanted to tell, she saw him use his magic. The young man denied acting as if he didn¡¯t understand, retreating with clear nervousness at the fact of having been discovered. As he drew back his hand touched a poor fork, and when that happened it began to bend completely. It was the first time in a long time that the girl laughed, she smiled for the first time since she had escaped. Her silent laughter took the boy by surprise who first cursed for his mistake and then simply smiled innocently. Since that day almost two weeks ago, Lys has been secretly teaching Jerre how to control that power... A New Place to Call Home 2 [Chapter 3] "How am I supposed to teach him when i can¡¯t even speak? Agh." Those were Allyson''s thoughts as she tried to find some way to teach that boy to use the power he possessed. The reality is that she was taking risks by staying there, but she was intrigued to know how far he could go. If young Jerre improved, he could rebuild the whole farm, fix any problem, and surely drastically improve the last years of his parents'' lives. Not to mention that he could even get any kind of work off the farm and earn a lot of coin. Those who were born prodigious and were able to use the power of their soul at such a young age and even possessed rare affinities were highly sought for all kinds of jobs, Lys herself had not entered the bloody crows by sheer coincidence, they knew perfectly well what her skills were and therefore decided to train her, but despite all the training there was always a certain disdain of the young assassin towards the idea of ending the lives of others, she wanted to always do what was just. His morale was stronger than they had imagined, and the leader of the crows knew this perfectly, that''s why he ordered Sauvre to end her life, or so she imagined, wanted to believe... However, she still carried the weight of those two men she killed so easily, as if their lives didn¡¯t have the slightest value, with a simple movement so memorized that it was capable of being executed without even thinking about it, for her body the idea of killing was as natural as breathing and that was something that had always terrified her since that last mission. After a few weeks of hard work on the farm, Lys and Jerre found the necessary free time to start practicing, so there they were, in the old barn with its only source of light being a simple lamp. Jerre did not want his parents to find out that he had also manifested his affinity so the training had to be hidden. Lys had had a bad night the day before, so that distraction was just what she needed to leave her past behind. However ... teaching without being able to talk was going to prove to be the difficult, and the young Jerre could not read so it complicated things even more. "So¡ What will we do to train?" Asked the boy, he was somewhat nervous about the situation in which he had ended, after all he was alone with a young woman, and although his body had the appearance of someone much younger, he was a teenager. "Hum, he''s nervous." The girl thought to herself as she watched the young man. She was really good at reading people, if she concentrated enough she could even know when someone was lying, everyone usually makes different faces when it comes to telling the truth or lying, such as avoiding eye contact, looking down, or looking up if you are thinking about something that really happened and try to remember it, as well as in general the heartbeat which is usually accelerated when you are lying, something she could notice when she used the power of her soul to enhance her hearing. Lys snapped her fingers in front of the young man, her face turned severe, she stood firm and began to breathe calmly, moving her hands from bottom to top in coordination with her breathing, prompting the young man to imitate her gesture. Jerre began to breathe deep concentrating. The key to controlling the affinity that both had was a clear and creative thinking, imagination was extremely important as well as knowledge, one had to know exactly what he wanted to achieve in order to manifest it. The young assassin stretched her hand concentrating and began to create a small wooden figure in the shape of a horse, something simple while waiting for the boy to follow her steps and imitate her action. "Should I... Should I try to do the same?" The young man was insecure about it, swallowed hard and tried to start creating that figure, however his clear nervousness only led him to a disastrous end. Although a small figure began to form on his hand, it twisted, losing whatever shape it might have had. "Not bad for a first time..." She thought as she smiled a bit. "I ... this ... uh ... I''m sorry, I got nervous." The boy had blushed a little, he was nervous for having to stand in front of the girl that had become his teacher, nerves were his worst weakness to use that elemental affinity because without a cold mind and clear thinking there was no way he could generate something with the correct form. Lys denied trying to comfort the young man, resting her hand on his shoulder, that was just the first real practice, she knew well that he wasn¡¯t going to achieve it the first time, even worst with someone who could not explain in detail what he should do, his training was going to Take much longer because of that. Nervously at the approach, Jerre walked away from the young assassin, turning his back and sighing heavily, he knew well that her intentions were nothing more than to help him control his power, but in the midst of all those nerves there was also fear and confusion. looking away the boy managed to calm down a little more, simply staring at the wall, denying to himself with disappointment of his own failure.Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author. "You know ... my brothers were also like me, like us. That''s why they were taken to the war." Jerre said that with a sad tone, it was clear that this fact weighed heavily on the boy''s young heart. His power had the ability to be both a blessing and a curse, after all if another conflict between kingdoms came to be provoked, he would be forced to leave his parents alone and unable to take care of the farm. "Fear, sadness ... you need to learn to channel your feelings in another way or you can never concentrate enough to materialize something complex ..." Those were Allyson''s thoughts as she listened to Jerre''s words. She understood well how feeling that way blocked his abilities, being afraid of what took his brothers away from him was only natural. From that day the training continued, it began to be more and more constant, the girl tried to teach him some signs to at least be able to communicate simple things with which she could guide him during his training, at first he was quite confused but with time he began to get used to the signs, to understand better and better the teachings that she was trying to transmit. Lys showed herself to be quite empathic, she understood Jerre''s feelings perfectly, she knew exactly when to press him more, when she had to stop, and while she taught him more and more she also learned, she learned to deal with him without being able to talk, she learned to teach him in better ways. Time passed by, one more season passed and a dangerous winter approached, the young woman enjoyed living in that home, Jerre''s parents respected her privacy and appreciated the help she was giving them with the farm, only receiving food and sleeping in the barn was enough for her. The training continued and little by little Lys was realizing that the boy had great potential. Unfortunately she was not the only one who realized that potential. Out of his knowledge, while the boy was visiting the nearby town to buy some seeds to plant during the winter, he again found himself in trouble, only this time his teacher was not there to save his life. However, that was not necessary, because the boy in despair of being surrounded by three thieves who wanted to take away the little money he was carrying, without which he would not be able to buy what he needed for the farm to survive the winter that was coming, realized how terrifying his own power could be out of control, because in its purest state its effects could be catastrophic. A simple touch of his palm on the chest of one of the thieves was enough for the flesh of it to twist violently, the man recoiled before the agonizing pain of feeling his internal organs writhing and mingling with each other, spitting blood instantly and falling to the ground. falling to his knees without even being able to stand. The other two thieves didn¡¯t end up that different. One of them managed to imprison Jerre from his back, however his arm soon twisted breaking his bones at that moment, leaving the boy who now ran desperate to the only exit of that alley, the third had the bad luck to simply stay on his way, Jerre tried to push him out of the way, but it was not his physical strength that made him move, but the devastating effects of his uncontrolled power. He did not even turn to see the state he had left them in, he just kept running without stopping. The training that night was strange, Lys realized that something had happened even though the boy did not want to tell her anything, it was clear that he was completely out of focus, more afraid of using his power than on previous days. "I can feel his fear ... Why did it get worse so much from one day to the next?" She thought as she watched the young man, trying to figure out what could be disturbing his concentration to such a degree. Finally she decided and simply snapped his fingers in front of him to get his attention, finishing the training. The young woman tried to ask what had happened to him by signs, however the boy refused and pretended not to understand and to be feeling well, and simply went to sleep. The next morning Lys decided to go to the nearby town to try to find out if something had happened to him during his stay there, after all it had been the only thing different from that week, his trip to that border town. To her surprise she found that the safety of the town had improved, the guards were more active and seemed to be looking for someone in particular, fearing the worst returned to cover his face and looking for some small dark alley to hide. There she concentrated the power of his soul in his ears, drastically enhancing her hearing to try to listen to any conversation that the guards might have that could interest her. However, the moment she tried to improve her hearing, a deafening sound almost destroyed her ears, she took both hands to cover them with desperation, she seemed to want to scream in pain. In that instant she knew that the worst had happened, there was no reason for something like that to be playing at all times, that infernal beep could only mean one thing ... the crows had reached her at last. That stinging whistle was still coming out of the barracks where the guard was staying, Lys knew she could not waste time in that town, she needed to return as soon as possible and get away before they discover her. Dizzy with the disorientation caused by that loud sound and with some drops of blood coming out of her ears, the young girl tried to get away from there as soon as possible and return to the farm. She tried to make sure no one was following her, hiding as best she could before finally arriving at her new home, one she would soon lose. After arriving she simply went into the barn where she rested and dropped on the simple pile of straw where she slept. She was exhausted, extremely disoriented and feared that they could track her, at that moment what she needed most was to calm down before her powers began to manifest in an erratic way. She tried to calm her feelings, closed her eyes for a few moments and finally let herself go, falling asleep. The crows had found her... now all her happiness would be over again, she feared for her future, for her life, for the lives of those who had welcomed her for several months already. When her eyes opened again she was no longer in that barn, but again in the capital city of Wunor... First Mission, Second Nightmare [Chapter 4] When she opened up her eyes she felt like she was no longer in that barn, dragged into a deep sleep, a memory, a nightmare ... Again forced to remember the life she most wanted to leave behind, what she had considered as the great lie that she had lived in total ignorance for so long. Deep in a mansion, in what appeared to be a gigantic inner maze underground was the secret base of the Bloody Crows. There she opened her eyes and stood up, feeling an absolute terror at the sight of that place she so easily recognized, the feeling was ephemeral because it was clear that it was not reality, only a dream, another nightmare. Soon she would see Sauvre approaching to greet her, extending his hand towards the girl who at that time still had his hair completely black, that assassin had not only been his companion in missions, he was also his teacher and one of the best and highest ranks of the organization. His position was not very important at the decision-making level, but he was known as the best of all at work and when someone failed he was the one in charge of ensuring that nobody knew anything and everything followed the course that had to be followed. Rising and smiling a kind smile towards her teacher, that Lys didn¡¯t feel the pressures or the fear she would eventually feel, it was a strange tranquility to remember the times in which she could sleep. Sleeping only two or three hours a day due to nightmares and the fear of being ambushed wasn¡¯t very healthy, and it left its mark on her face. "The time has come Lys, no more training, today will be your first mission out of this prison. I hope you''re ready." The veteran-looking man with several marks crossing his face, incipient beard of several days without shaving and short brown hair began to walk making a slight signal with his hand towards Allyson, telling her to follow him. "The mission will not be difficult, or it should not be difficult with our abilities. We will travel to a tavern that according to the information that has been collected, holds meetings in its basement, meetings where they clearly speak against the current monarch. Rebels." While Sauvre was talking, they both continued walking. They passed through a room full of torture tools, fortunately empty at that moment, then through a long corridor that seemed to go up, until finally reached a door. What looked like a door on one side, was in fact a wall on the other, going out in the middle of the night from that secret passage that led to an empty alley, the famous "Cursed Alley". They had created the story that there was a curse there and that every time someone approached he or she appeared dead weeks later to prevent someone from approaching, it was effective, no one but a member of the bloody crows entered the place. The girl patted Sauvre''s shoulder to try to get his attention, while she began to make a series of signs with her hands, strange signs of varied forms trying to communicate through them, however the assassin went his way a little more, waiting for the door behind them to close and kept walking until the edge of that alley, then he turned. "Sorry, I didn¡¯t hear you there. What did you just say?" A picaresque smile was drawn on the face of the man, who was clearly teasing the poor young woman, she looked at him with a clear expression of anger beginning to make the same signs with great speed, she went mad. "Hey, Hey, I said I was sorry!" The veteran crow gave a slight laugh at his partner''s anger, denying to himself. "Come on, calm down, slow down so that i can understand you. Start from the beginning." The girl sighed heavily and moved her hands with more precision and less speed, trying to make her partner understand what she wanted to say. "I hate when you do that. What will we do when we get there? Shall we go in secret or in a normal way and I''ll have to try to hear if there''s something wrong underneath?" That sign language was his only way of communicating, something only Sauvre understood. Through the rumor of a language like that among servants of the nobility of a remote kingdom, the veteran of the crows had decided to look around and learn that language to facilitate the training of his star pupil. "Of course we will do that. The second clearly. How else could we act?" The man said with a sardonic smile, he liked to annoy his beloved apprentice, knowing that she couldn¡¯t do much about it. "That''s why I said it would be an easy mission for both of us, we go in, I make a little distraction, see if I can make the bartender talk and you just stay in your corner and pay attention." The girl just stood there staring at him still mad for his joke. The truth is that she was a little nervous and Sauvre had noticed, that''s why he distracted her by bothering her to forget that they were about to go on a mission, the girl worked much better when she was calm, and he knew it. "If we''re lucky, we''ll grab them in the middle of a meeting, otherwise, we''ll have to do this for several days until we get them." He finally said as he pulled up a simple hood that rested on his shoulders, it was not necessary to cover themselves so much for that mission, not yet, after all they had to pass as simply two ordinary people who were going to drink something at that tavern, nothing more. After a few hours of walking to reach the remote tavern in the area of the docks, the two of them went inside, it was past midnight by the time they arrived, the perfect hours for a hidden meeting. Sauvre went to the bar and asked for the table in the far corner, the place did not seem to be very busy, there were some drunks in the bar and the local bard already had several glasses on top, so he was lying in a corner with a lute in hand and a smile from ear to ear. He ordered two beers and pointed to the desired table, meanwhile he stayed at the bar to wait for the drinks. The young woman moved with shyness and nervousness about that place, it was the first time she was in a place like that one, as far as she knew, and people did not seem to be the kindest of all, after all the docks tavern had its fame.the place was rumored to be filled with pirates who were posing as corsairs to enter without risk of being imprisoned. Fortunately, there weren¡¯t many people that night. Lys took a seat at that table away from everything, was distracted by the excess of noise that was in general, the screams of drunks, a sound discussion in another of the tables filled with half a dozen men looking like crooks. Meanwhile, Sauvre after asking for something to drink at the bar decided to play a little to see how much he could get from the bartender.Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Place looks a little empty though..." the man had charisma, he knew how to speak calmly and appeal to the instinct of others to want to tell what was happening to them, his picaresque smile was answered by a spit from the bartender to the pitcher where he would serve a drink, passing a rag inside to clean it up. "Yeah. A few idiots tried to leave without paying and ended up beaten by that guy" The innkeeper pointed to a man in a corner, somnolent, sitting in front of a wooden door, a large man perhaps seven feet tall, extremely muscular, it was clear that he was not just any guard. "Pity, I heard that things get fun around here at night, you know, a lot of people, a lot of insults, a lot of fights and some dirty jobs in some corner of the place, all that makes a man feel excited to live in this damn kingdom eh" While Sauvre tried to extract some information subtly by means of its magnetic charisma, Lys had to dedicate herself to what she knew best to do, hearing. After reacting from her distraction by the constant noise of the place, the girl tried to leave behind the nervousness and calm down, the concentration was what strengthened the common affinity, being the lack of this what made it weak and in very rare cases uncontrolled. She concentrated the energy of her soul directly on her ears, however at the same time she raised her hands to cover her ears, she didn¡¯t want to be exposed to all the noise suddenly, because that could be troublesome, she had to isolate everything that she didn¡¯t care to listen to and look for what she wanted to hear, in this case some sign that there were people gathered in the basement. It was difficult to consider that day as fortunate or unfortunate. The young woman had just heard what they were looking for, a meeting was taking place down there, in a small basement, she could hear their voices, little by little concentrating more and more and isolating the rest of the noise, trying to discern what they spoke... "This is horrible, every day there are more robberies, my family fears for my life every time i leave the house. How are we supposed to live like this?" A man with a worried and fearful voice made himself heard, some whispers of uneasiness were heard among the people gathered there. "We only have to act, if the king doesn¡¯t do it, we''ll have to do it." His voice was low and imposing, but it also sounded worn like it was from an old man. "If the guard is in cahoots with the criminals that constantly threaten us, we will have to show them that a King can¡¯t be king without the support of his people, we will burn his barracks and hang all criminals in front of the whole dock so they know that nobody should mess with us." The same old man was following his speech, it was clear that it was exactly what they were looking for. The speech continued, talking about the duty of all those who lived on the docks, to unite all the people to act against the guard and the king who both ignored them, that it was the only way to live in peace. However, the general reaction of the rest present at that meeting was fearful. They were only family men who sought to protect what they loved, they were not warriors, they were not idealists or rebels, they just wanted their home to be safe, but that man was transforming them into something else. The young woman was scared at first, she stopped covering her ears with her hands, being stunned by the loud noise around while trying to concentrate again so that her ears return to normal. By then Sauvre was there at the table in front of her, smiling at her calmly and resting his hand on hers to help her calm down. "Your face tells me you didn¡¯t hear something nice, Lys. What''s wrong?" With a reassuring tone and a sideways smile that showed an appreciation for his apprentice, the assassin reassured the girl who, after all, was on her first official mission so it was understandable for her to be more nervous than usual. "They''re down here, they''re talking about ... burning the barracks, hanging criminals, going against the king." The girl gestured with the signs that only they knew, Sauvre calmly nodded taking a more severe and cold expression, he knew exactly what to do next, he had to go into the meeting and kill all those who could oppose the king, it was for the good of the kingdom, that was his order. "Well, your work ends here Lys, now it''s my turn." When he was about to get up, Allyson took his hand tightly, trying to prevent him from leaving with a clear expression of fear and despair. "I''ll be fine, do not worry." The girl repeatedly denied with nervousness, that was not what was bothering her, she knew well that her teacher was more than capable enough to kill a dozen civilians on his own, they weren¡¯t any danger to him, but felt a certain attachment for those people, they would die only for the words of a single man when all they wanted was to find security for their families. Would his parents have done the same? They were innocent, they had done nothing more than be convinced by another. How was that fair for the people they were supposed to protect with their actions? Those questions tormented the mind of the girl who ended by letting go of her partner''s hand, then gesturing in that sign language she used. "They are ... they are just people who want to feel safe, it is not fair ... only their leader spoke against the king, they are afraid, but they have no other choice, it is not their fault." The girl expected her partner to understand, but an order from the crow was something impossible to ignore, they were in that meeting and therefore were rebels. Sauvre fixed his penetrating gaze on his apprentice, stern and completely cold, denied without further ado and turned to go to fulfill his goal. At that moment the young woman got up from the table and put her hand on her partner''s shoulder, when he turned around again he could not help but be surprised. "Don¡¯t do it." The girl''s lips moved, they mentioned those words that simply could not be heard as tears fell down her face ... she was crying as if those men there had been something important to her, as if they were family when actually they were complete strangers. The veteran crow didn¡¯t know what to do, froze there for a moment, felt something he had never felt in many years, felt compassion, felt the pain for which his apprentice was passing, the desperation of trying to do the right thing, of saving a life that did nothing to deserve the worst of punishments. Killing had become so natural during all those years in which he was part of that organization, he had done it so many times that he had lost complete sense of what it meant to end someone else''s life. The training to become a bloody crow usually had that effect, however no matter how severe it was with Lys, she still felt empathy, felt the pain of those she did not know as if it was her own. He knew the consequences his actions could bring, but he simply could not watch his beloved pupil in the eyes and do nothing about it. He directed his hand to the young woman''s face, passing it through his tears to dry them, then came over and gave her a simple kiss on the forehead. "It''s fine Lys, you win. I will only kill the leader, if you are so sure that they are innocent I will believe you. Is that okay?" The man lost that stern face worthy of a trained killer to show his softest side, smiling sideways with kindness and a gesture of compassion for his partner. Lys simply nodded as she wiped her tears away, her cry had not attracted anyone''s attention there because she was unable to make the slightest noise, that was her eternal curse after all. They both sat down again, the girl began to calm down little by little, she stopped crying and look at her partner ... they had decided to do things the good way but ... How were they going to do it? That, they didn¡¯t know¡ yet. End of Dreams, beginning of the Nightmare [Chapter 5] Sauvre and Allyson were sitting at the same table they had ordered, two drinks on either side of them completely ignored having been brought in moments earlier by a woman who worked there, they were discussing in signs that no one but themselves could understand. "Well ... how will we manage to take care of their leader without the rest getting in the way?" Sauvre started using the signs too to prevent anyone from listening to them, after all planning out loud what they were going to do right there was not the smartest idea. "I don¡¯t know. We have to act fast and do something to dissuade the rest from acting on behalf of that man. I felt a lot of fear in their voices, I know that they do not do it for pleasure but for obligation, but even so his opinion is respected and his orders heard and obeyed." The young assassin had calmed down after a short break and now with a clearer mind she had to think of some way to help those innocent people. "The easy thing would be to simply wait for them to leave, follow their leader and ... problem solved. But you will not accept that, will you?" The veteran crow smiled, knowing perfectly well what his apprentice''s response would be. The girl denied, because it was clear that if they murdered in silence and in another situation to that man they would only make him a martyr, and with some bad luck someone else could emerge who really has been more convinced of his ideals, and there they would have no choice but to kill them all as rebels, that was their obligation to the kingdom. But there was a way of acting that could allow the escape of civilians and only the dead of the man who led them, a particular plan that would serve for everything they wanted to achieve, something that the veteran Sauvre had come up with. "There is something we can do." The man continued with that smile that now took a picaresque tone, he had found a fun plan to execute. "What did you come up with?" The girl asked with speed, always using those signs to speak because she had no other method of communicating. Lys on the other hand was nervous and anxious, fearing that no matter how much they think she would end up witnessing the murder of a dozen innocents, fearing that only because of her, everything could go complete wrong and have horrible repercussions. What could be said, the girl was depressed. "Complicated and simple at the same time. We must enter that meeting right now." He said with his own voice this time, rising instantly from the table, his face lost that smile and returned to the severe and cold expression of a trained assassin. "Do not worry, it''s a good idea. You just follow me and try to look more ... evil." Disconcerted and not understanding what kind of idea had occurred to Sauvre, the young woman decided to trust anyway and followed him. "Hey you, big guy, the meeting is over, you can stop watching the door." Without any fear of being discovered, the veteran crow approached that large man and lied to him as if it were the most natural thing in the world for him. The giant shook a bit from his chair as he reacted, had fallen asleep, let out a loud yawn and then looked at Sauvre with a less than friendly face. "Hey you, what are you-" The bartender shouted from the bar when he saw them approach the giant, but Sauvre turned and looked at the man with a penetrating gaze, a look that made it clear that a single word more of him would only advance the end of his days by a lot. The bartender closed his mouth in fear, moving backwards and beginning to act like he hadn¡¯t seen anything, washing some beer mugs. "Oh? Finished? But... you weren¡¯t inside ... and if it finished ... How did they come out?" With a serious and extremely sleepy tone that large man asked the two assassins that were in front of him, without even taking the effort to stand up, even sat down he was already as high as both of them. "Do you see this girl here? She is going to kill your boss. Do you understand? She told me she''s here to kill them all, she''s forcing me to lie to you." His expression changed to one of fear acting as he approached the giant to mention those words in a lower and subtle tone, he knew well that even so his companion was going to hear those words, it was all part of his plan. Now the giant began to rise with an angry face, believing the words of the veteran crow and looking down at what looked to him as a simple meddlesome fly. "You will not do anything to the boss" The girl was really scared to have such a brute in front of her, in a close fight it was clear that her chances were very low against a mass of muscles like him. However, everything was thought and meditated by the best assassin the crows had, if he was really good at something, it was to improvise any kind of plan that might occurred to him. While the giant began to go towards Lys, she started to retreat before the imposing size of the man, fearing the worst. At that moment a gigantic gust of wind began to enter through the main door, sticking to the walls on each side to generate an enveloping effect. It was there that Lys realized the plan, and with great fear of the one in front of him, she took strength and released the strongest kick she could make direct to the most precious parts of every man, in this case of that giant. With great speed and precision the blow was direct and even someone of that size could not help but fall silent on his knees before the most agonizing pain that a man was capable of feeling. After falling to his knees, the wind began to pile up and as if he had accurately calculated the time, now the giant had lost his balance and was just on a straight path towards the exit door. The wind enveloped the giant on both sides pushing him with brutal force into the street, it was not a deadly attack, not for someone like him, but it would take that big guy a long time to get up from that. Sauvre again showed that picaresque expression before a well executed plan while Lys looked at him incredulous of what had just happened. He had used her as bait to have time to concentrate enough wind to act, and if it wasn¡¯t for the girl who knew him and imagined what he was going to do to weaken the giant, none of that would have worked. From that first mission, their abilities and minds were coordinated in an excellent way, they could predict what each one was about to do and act accordingly to complete the other part of the plan without even mentioning a single word, thats what made them an incredibly effective duo for any job the bloody crows gave them. After flying that giant off the place, the veteran erased his smile and returned to his severe look. He began to move with determination and speed into the door that was blocked by the guy he just threw outside, Lys followed without much doubt, still a little nervous about the whole situation but knowing that those nerves should be under control if she wanted to be of use to save all those innocent lives. They descended by a corridor that soon gave to another closed door, now the shouts of that man that tried to motivate the citizens to act against the kingdom could be heard with clarity, but Sauvre would not allow himself to be distracted by that, he turned and standed up with his back against the door and winked an eye at his companion, at that moment a gust of wind crashed against him and made him go through the door. A sudden silence was present, the words of Sauvre at the beginning resonated in the mind of Lys "And try to look more ... evil" It was clear what she had to do after what he had just done, she tried to make her face look cold and severe, took a step forward and hit with both hands to the walls at his side, the same stone they were composed began to deform and close the only exit that place seemed to have. The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. With a look of utter fear on the face of the one who looked like a veteran full of marks on his face that made him look like a stern and cold man, now showing absolute fear as if he were in the presence of hell itself, that was the face of Sauvre that sought to scare those who were there. "She''s a monster! Nobody comes near, she''s going to kill us all!" He exclaimed in a voice that seemed to break with the same scream, he was indeed a master of the performance, for that and much more he was known as the best of all crows. The common people stepped back empathizing with the man who had entered violently pushed by what was seen for them as a superhuman force, they felt great fear towards the figure that appeared in front of them, imagining it as if they were facing their worst nightmares. What kind of monster was capable of inflicting so much fear on a man who looked so much like a war veteran? The man who was leading them soon raised his voice, he had not been carried away by the performance and his face only denoted confusion, it was not someone who would fall too easy, it was not someone who would be manipulated by a simple act. "What is this all about?! Intruders! Where is my guard?!" He exclaimed as he instantly drew a short sword that he carried in the waist, pointing to Lys but still at a long distance to be able to hurt her. "Dead sir, Dead! Nobody can face her, she is an extremely powerful witch and she comes for your head! She said that you are a criminal from her kingdom, she has forced me to help her, I did what I could to keep her from entering!" No matter how well he acted that wasn¡¯t goin to convince a paranoid man. But it wasn¡¯t a lie that something had made him fly and to cross the door with superhuman strength, and that the man with the appearance of a veteran was clearly wounded and lying on the ground with an expression of fear. "She¡¯s a Silent Assassin! She said that, that she was looking for him for inciting the people against his king and escaped after failing!" The face of that old man with sword in hand only showed confusion, didn¡¯t understand what was happening, nothing that was being said made sense, he was from there, but those words of Sauvre had sown doubt in the common people present there. "It could be true," muttered one. "Oh gods what have we gotten ourselves into? This was a mistake..." Said another across the room. "We are condemned, everything just for following this madman with his plans, we will all be executed as traitors." The voice of another was heard along with dozens of whispers of fear and doubt. Lys simply watched from the door with the most serious expression she could give, she could not talk so that was her role, that of a silent killer whose only job was to kill that man, but to herself she was somewhat afraid that everything would ended up horribly wrong. A sudden darkness began to appear around the woman who was just in front of the only exit now distorted and closed by her power. The darkness gave her a more fearful look, her eyes fixed on Sauvre, although the reality is that she was waiting for some kind of signal to tell her how to act, the darkness suddenly covered her eyes giving her a hellish and more threatening aspect. The veteran crow who was lying there in the middle of that small closed cellar began to speak again to continue with the act. "She told me that she only wants him, if we let her take him to her kingdom she will not kill us all!" He said without delay, hoping to see the reaction of the people. "Attack these two idiots, do not let them ruin all our efforts, remember what we want, the king does not deserve our obedience if he is not even able to give us security, do not believe his lies, I was born in this kingdom and I will die in it!" Though inspiring, his words fell on deaf ears, the simple villagers there, men of simple jobs and without any training had already fallen prey to fear. "Take him!" One shouted. "We never wanted to go against the king, we just wanted security!" Said another. Lys was right, it was only a man who possessed the ideals of rebellion against the monarchy, just one guilty of that crime. The young woman raised her hand towards the one who was inciting the people, but behind the shadows that now covered her there was fear and nervousness. Should she be the one to kill him? Everything in that act seemed to indicate it but ... she didn¡¯t know if she really could. From her hands a throwing dagger began to be created, the man with the sword had realized the situation in which he was and how everyone did not hesitate a moment to turn against him, decided to charge directly to the girl with a lunge of his sword. However, at that moment the darkness began to dissipate slowly as the wind from that room began to swirl just in front of the man and Lys. The dagger suddenly detached itself from the girl''s hands and flew directly to the neck of the man who was stopped by the wind, while she tried to maintain the seriousness of that act and a cold expression in her eternal silence, the truth it is that she felt liberated for not having to be to be the one who gave the final blow. "Oh master of the almighty soul, unbeatable lady, spirit of the murders, let us go free, we did not want to act in favor of this horrible man, you have already fulfilled your mission and we ask you for mercy!" No other than Sauvre in his eternal Act could say something like that so seriously. The people there present didn¡¯t even doubt for more than an instant that they got on their knees to ask for mercy. The girl turned and put her hand on the wall, undoing the blockade on the only exit, moving towards the center of the room and leaving a clear space for people to start desperate getting out of that place. "Ignore my wounds, save yourselves, run for your life!" Sauvre shouted as all the people got out in desperation from that place, it was more than clear that none of them would even think about acting against the king after what they had just seen. When the place got empty, the veteran crow began to laugh out loud. Lys denied to herself as she watched her partner laugh, with a slight smile on her side, her expression had calmed but still showed that she was nervous, her hands were shaking a bit, for a moment she had considered throwing that dagger, making the final blow, but her partner knew perfectly well that she wasn¡¯t ready for that yet. "Agh ... that blow hurted." He said between laughs and grimaces of pain as he tried to get up, fortunately being a man with a body extremely worked but hidden behind his dark clothes, he had received nothing but blunt blows devoid of real risk to his body when he threw himself against the door. As soon as he was finished getting up he was overwhelmed by a hug from the girl and a small kiss on the cheek, nervously she would go away instantly to make a single sign with her hands. "Thank you." She couldn¡¯t be more grateful to have such a partner and teacher, no one could be better than him, he had changed everything and even rejected orders just for a whim of her. The veteran crow smiled kindly and simply denied calmly. "Let''s go back." he said without further ado, as he began to walk back to the secret base of the bloody crows. There the dream would have ended, there it should have ended, because that was not reality, but it was not a dream either, but a nightmare, and every action has a reaction, in this case one that would mark the end they would have. As if time was advancing at great speed, now she was days ahead and what was drawn in front of her eyes was something able to frighten even the bravest. The vision of the one whom she cared above all being tortured before her eyes in that torture chamber, Sauvre''s naked torso full of horrible marks and wounds that she had never seen, and a man of imposing size hitting him with a sharp whip with metallic edges. That had been the horrible price to pay for not respecting the orders of their leader, for not fulfilling the mission as they had been told, but the punishment was not going to fall on the young woman who asked for everything to change, but on who was supposed to watch that the mission was carried out properly, and that was Sauvre, Lys had fulfilled her mission at the time of checking that there was a meeting, and that should have been the end of her work and the beginning of Sauvre¡¯s. However, in the eyes of the crow leader there were now a dozen people who were witnesses of two bloody crows and who had agreed to follow the orders of a traitor to the crown, of a rebel, only that fact already marked them as possible rebels that should be executed, but now it was hard and useless to trace them one by one. Weeks of torture was the price to pay for her beloved teacher, and hers was to witness that torture. She could feel that dream becoming a nightmare, as the image of Sauvre being tortured became clearer and sharper, as if she were reliving it, until suddenly she awoke in what would have been a cry of terror, muted and only showing an expression of absolute fear. That would be her price to pay if she got caught? Was that why she remembered this right now? Now in reality she could see Jerre''s worried face in front of her, the dizziness had gone away at least, but everything around her, tools and the same straw where she slept, had been completely disintegrated. His power had been activated even while she slept without even realizing because of that horrible nightmare ... What was she going to do now? She had been discovered, and soon... soon she would end up facing the crows again... and that never ended well...
