《The Deal was beginning(Hiatus)》


 Chapter 1

    We should have fleed when our friends warned us, back then portals were still working. And now our capital is surrounded, with us trapped here. Our capital, Luara, is the most fortified city in our kingdom, but with waves of the enemy approaching from all sides, we stand no chance.


    My brother Bolton and I are hiding at the moment in our manor with few servants and one guard. Mother should be on the outer wall with all our remaining forces helping with defense. She is one of the last remaining mages of our House.


    I, Celina Darkmoon, am the youngest of three children, but as the only one with magic, I was destined to be the future head of our house. However, when the war started, I didn¡¯t even get the chance to start studying at the academy.


    Brother wanted to help mother at the wall, but she persuaded him to keep me safe instead. Father and most of our Household died in the battle of Reino two months ago. Only mother and few uncles managed to escape, but this time Darkmoon House might lose everyone leaving only my sister Alice and some cousins.They were married off before the war has started.


    ''Why isn¡¯t the Emerus Union here yet? If Raldus Kingdom falls, they, as our allies, will be next on the list. Could it be that they could have abandoned us? No! I can¡¯t think like this, most likely they are still rushing here after being delayed bysome diversion.''


    "Young masters! ..." our guard rushed in with pale faceand lost his voice mid-sentence.


    "Young masters ..." The guard tried to speakagain.


    "What is it Claud?" asked my brother with concern.


    "Th ... The wall has fa ... fallen, the enemy is swarming our streets as we speak ¡­" Claud barely managed to finish a sentence.


    Soon we could hear some voices in the distance from our manor, they were getting louder with each passing second.


    "Dammit!" roared brother, servants started to quiver with the realization of what will come next.


    "M ¡­Mother" I whispered silently while tears run down my cheeks as I fell down on my knees.


    "Y...Young Masters, w...we must run!" shuttered Claud.


    "Where?!" shouted brother "The city is surrounded and none of the portals are fixed since the day we tried to send off Celina."


    "M...Maybe..." started the guard only to be violently interrupted by loud bangs outside the manor¡¯s outer gates.


    "Hey, Jack I think this thing is enchanted.We can barely leave a dent in it. Could you handle it?" We heard voices outside the manor.


    "Maybe we could climb over it?" said another indistinguishable voice.


    "Wait! Let me check it first. If this is reinforced with magic, it is very likely there are some other surprises." We heard another voice.


    "Damn it, if they have a mage, the gate won¡¯t hold long. I guess it would be too naive to hope that he doesn''t have tools for detection. Traps alone will be useless." Angrily whispered brother.


    "Sigh... there is no escape for us anyway, we will fight near first trap here, and try to reduce their numbers as much as we can. Celina, you try to find a place to hide, maybe after our fight, they won¡¯t search for you as toughly. The war will soon be over for this City. Eventually, the armywill be replaced with some guards to keep order, you will have a chance to slip out" said brother with a heavy tone.


    "No Bolton! I will fight with you. I know some magic, I can be of help. If you all die, there is nothing left for me to live for!" I yelled with panic.


    "Listen, sister! You are an heir of our House. What do you think awaits if you do that? You are a woman and a noble at that, if they capture you, you will become a slave for their nobles. You know it¡¯s a fate worse than death. I can¡¯t let our House name be tarnished like this. Besides, one spell before you faint isn¡¯t much help. Now go and hide. If you survive this, one day you might avenge us, don¡¯t let our House fall like this" said brother firmly, he checked his gear and started giving orders to our servants and Claud.


    With tears flowing like a river I turned around and ran. ''Where do I hide? They will search for wealth so the storage room is no go.'' I stopped and started looking around ''they also have a mage, finding if someone is still in the manor without magic interference will be easy... wait, the Study room. Yes.     Deciding my course of action I ran upstairs and after entering the study room, started to look for a place to hide. Suddenly I heard a loud explosion echoing through the manor. ''This isn¡¯t form outside! Main entrance! When did they take down gates outside the manor? Was I so deep in thought that haven¡¯t even noticed the previous explosion? No! There is no time for this!'' I quickly closed door behind me and started to search for the best place to hide.


    ''This might be just a study room, but they might search for spell books or documents. I can¡¯t hide in the wardrobe, too obvious. Damn it. How I wish we had a secret room behind bookcase like Alice at her manor''...


    After looking around a bit my gaze stopped at the fireplace ''no other choice I guess, the study doesn¡¯t have many places that a few kicks or pushes won¡¯t reveal me.'' Heading to fireplace I looked at my dress and frowned. ''This won¡¯t do, the skirt part will get me exposed.¡¯


    I quickly started tearing the bottom of my dress and stopped only when the skirt part was barely covering my underwear. ''Now what to do with the ripped cloth?¡¯ I can¡¯t burn it or the smell will expose me. IfI leave it as it is, it will be like screaming ''search for a girl.¡¯ My gaze turned to the decorative pillows on the couch.


    I ran to them, grabbed the letter cuter from the table and made a cut on pillows, I then stuffed the ripped cloth evenly inside. ''There, now to hide and hope for the best.'' I ran to the fireplace and stepped inside, hugging the inner wall as best as I can to not be visible from outside. ''Done. I need to calm down my breathing.


    Damn it! Meditation won¡¯t work with my current state of mind''. After some time I somehow managed to calm down and started to listen for noises, sadly without any success. The enhancements of the room were working as intended, no sound comes in or out when doors are closed. After what felt like eternity doors to the room suddenly opened.


    "Go search the bookcase on the left, we need to find a way to weaken enchantment of that seal." Said one of intruders.


    ''To weaken the enchantment?'' I thought with a worry ''but they can¡¯t know someone is hiding here.''


    "Jack, we have to hurry, others are getting more achievements as we speak. With most generals killed in previous battle, only nobles will get us something. There is no guarantee that we get anything from that storage room. Anything of worth should have been used against us in the war already. We should hurry to search other manors after a quick sweep on this. Head of a noble is worth more than the few coins we get wasting time here. Maybe we will even manage to get some females of noble birth, at the end of war those will be worth a lot as slaves."


    "Yes, and if we rush again we can lose another third of our squad. All just because we were greedy. Those bastards didn¡¯t even had a single mage. With the exception of that noble all of them together were weaker than any man from our side. No matter how you look at it, six dead knights is a loss for our House. And for what ¨C a single noble head and a few peasants?" argued the mage angrily.


    ''A third of our squad? Six dead knights? So brother managed to kill so many while being outnumbered one to six. With a mage on their side. And those were knights, not some mercenaries. Father would have been so proud of him. He should have been given the gift of magic instead of me. Even with it, all I did was laze around, not a behavior of a future head.


    If I had spent more time in training like my parents had asked, I could have helped them. Maybe I could evenescaped with brother if learn teleportation spell like from those legends. My parents couldn¡¯t escape with the responsibility of a noble, but I could at least saved mybrother.


    No! Stop getting agitated! I will expose myself like this. I need to survive, only then can I can get revenge for them. Maybe with the help of sister we can get Aizerus involved. They could counterattack while Zolmor is exhausted from the war. As for those bastards from Emerus Union, I bet they betrayed us''.


    "Manor is clear, we found no one else. I sent Ren and Zed to double check, but I doubt they will find anything that escaped your eye, Jack. Say, what spell did you use on that noble? I¡¯ve never seen anything like that." said a knight who just entered theroom.


    "Don¡¯t overestimate magic. Everything has a weakness, detection magic is no exception. As for the spell I used... well that noble got me very angry for killing six our people. I sealed his soul into the crystal to suffer. I can use it as a mana back up later."


    ''No! Brother!'' I got agitated and before noticed, loudly breathed in.


    "Did you hear that?" asked one of the knights.


    "I think it came from there." said magician while stepping closer to the fireplace.


    ''I¡¯m sorry brother I failed you. There is no escape from this now ... But I won¡¯t go down so easily. I will drag all of you with me''.


    I started incantation of the only spell I¡¯ve ever managed to cast, while revealing myself from the fireplace. I rarely practiced it. Because even if I did it right, I get exhausted to the point of fainting just from one use, I never managed to cast weaker spells.


    "Elements of Fire answer my call..." I chanted while drawing every ounce of my mana into hand while pointing at them.


    "Whoa, jackpot" said one of knights looking at me.


    "She is a mage! Stop her from finishing incantation!" shouted the mage while drawing his orb tool and with just two words ''Wind shied'' a small wind cyclone surrounded him.


    "Burn the enemy before me... Inferno!" With one knight almost reaching me, I panicked and ended incantation without finishing some of the chant.


    The failed spell still incinerated one of approaching knights. His armor melted in a blink and flesh perished in flames leaving only dust behind and a molten puddle of metal. The backslash, from the spell cast wrong, sent a part of my energy back to me. Pain thousands of times worse than what I ever felt in life assaulted my hands, stomach, and lungs.


    I wanted to scream but no sound left my mouth. Strength left my body as I fell on the ground like a puppet with its strings cut, blood dripping from my mouth. I could see the glowing cracks on the skin of my arm. My mouth still open, from an attempt to scream, let out only a silent breaths. I couldn¡¯t even thrash from pain nor turn my head as I could no longer control my body.


    I was facing the open door¡¯s direction with my hand stretched out in front of me,little by little glowing cracks on the skin began to fade. I felt ever increasing pain eating away my sanity, but couldn¡¯t lose my consciousness.

 Chapter 2

    "You bitch!" shouted knight in anger. When his companion died, his face was burned from the heat.


    "Wait! Don''t kill her! ... uhh .. dammit ...she is done for." said mage looking at glowing orb in his hand "That backslash destroyed her insides beyond healing. She has few hours left to live. Even if we had a healing magic expert here and now, it would be of no use. Seriously, whats with our rotten luck?! First that noble with stupid traps, nowthis female mage just had to fry herself to death..." ranted mage kicking furniture.


    "Few hours you say .. you won''t die that easily." said knight and then opened the door wide open and roared. "EVERYONE, GET YOUR ASS HERE!"


    In a few moments more knights rushed in and a man with scar spoke through gritted teeth while facing me


    "This bitch burned Valter and have few hours left to live. Our job is to make sure it will be as memorable as possible."


    He then walked closer and started tearingmy clothes. My mind was still clouded fromthe pain and moving was impossible. At bestI could only tilt head a little or bend fingers during spasms. And my voice was still gone. Haven''t stopped trying to scream since the momentmy spell has failed. All this pain ravaging my body was unbearable.


    After the knight with scar striped me naked walked to the table andwith a movement of his hand, tossedeverything from its surface on the ground, he then got back, picked me up and then tossed on the table.


    "Wait a second Red." saidthe mage who now calmed down from his rant.


    "Don''t try to stop me, Jack, she killed Valter and ruined my face."


    "Don''t misunderstand, as your superior first turn belongs to me. It''s not every day that you have a chance to do as you please with amage. Don''t worry, you will get your turn soon enough." he said with lust showing up on his face.


    "Ye .. sorry." said the man with the scar and with a bit of reluctance stepped aside.


    In the background, more knights were showing up and started whisper about the situation. Some showing lustful smiles.


    "Its a disaster we couldn''t get you alive. Selling you as a slave with a status of a mage .. uhh, we would be set for life. Well, at least your head as a mage should be worth more than some no-name noble... Oh, right, time is ticking, I guesswe should get started." Said the mage and started to remove his pants.


    Still, with aclouded mind from the pain, I started to realize what comes next. ''This cant be happening.''


    It was painful.


    Wounds sustained from backslash hurt a lot from the movement. With each thrust, pain assaulted me from my internal injuries and occasionally my mouth forcefully spit some blood from a push. There might have been pain from losing virginity too, but it wasn''t noticeable in comparison with hell other wounds have caused.


    ''No! Not like this !'' was all I could think over and over. Wishing to have at least some strength to resist, punch him, leave some scratch on his face, scream... anything!


    My vision started to blur. Maybe it was from tears in my eyes or maybe it was just my death approaching. I sure hoped it was the last. All I could do was scream in my mind from the pain and humiliation, because my body still couldn''t.


    After some time it stopped, butI didn''t even realize that. Still screaming in my mind Ireacted only when heard words "your turn", theneverything started all over.


    I don''t know how many took their turn, it felt like an eternity. Suddenly I heard loud thunder accompanied with some loud noices. Pain assaulted me once again, this time even stronger than before, this time only in the head. Soon my consciousness faded.


    "Hello little girl"I heard a strange voice.

    The mage named Jack, asI recall, was now with clothes, he was standing aside with smirk on his face. Knight with the scar, was searching for something in the bookcase. Two more knights were in the middle of dressing... or undressing their armor. One more was sitting on a couch with a satisfied expression and other twowere standing not far from me in the ''picture'' with a worried expression.


    I doubt they were worried about me, most likely they just feared I will die before their turn or in middle of the act - making them necrophils.


    I say ''picture'' because everything seemed frozen, not in ice but the time itself. It was like someone just painted all of this,though it was not. Well, saying it''s frozen isn''t right too, ever so slowlyI could see a slight movement of knights. It was barely noticeable but the movement was there.


    I ''walked'' around and tried to touch myself from the ''painting'', my hand passes right through ''me'' without any obstacle. I quickly withdrew it and look at my hand closely, It was transparent, and I could see ''picture'' right through it.


    "Have I died?"I talked to myself and barely recognize my own voice.


    "Not yet." I hear an answer I totally didn''t expect.


    It was the same voice as before. WhenI ''woke up'', I wasn''t sure Iheard it as it was the cause of my waking up in the first place. Now I could hear it loud and clear.


    I never heard anything like it. It had an echo resonatingwithin itself, giving a feeling that some of it was caused by metal or a beast, but it was neither. I know how most demi-humans sound. Especially after my sister Alice was married off to Newblood house.


    It was done to reinforce trading route with Aizerus Alliance. Her husband Dio Newblood has origin of lion beasts and has the most threatening voice there is.. was. A simple whisper from this voice gave more sense of danger than a roar of any angry demi-human I ever heard.


    "My my, what a shy little girl. I''m not that scary when you know me. Hmm, no forget what I just said, barely remember anyone who doesn''t faint or pee in their pants once they fully know me."I heard him again, this time with hummor in his voice.


    "Are you death?" I asked fully expecting confirmation. Stopping time right before my death, talking with my soul? Can''t think of any other explanation.


    "Ha ha ha ha! didnt hear that in long time, what was it? Four hundred years ago or was it six? Hmm, no, four hundred years ago it was just an ''aspect of death'', six hundred years it is. Anyway, to answer your question, no, I am not, but it allways walks by my side." answered the voice.


    "Then what are you?" I asked while looking at ''picture'' me. Anger and frustration started to surface.


    "What I am? Not who? How rude of you little girl! Well, youcan call me Demigod.Just don''t mistake me for a God. Too many take word God lightly. So many punny beings gets a bit of power and start religioin of themself, when they can''t do a shit when it maters, even if their life depends on it. Killed many of them in the past and don''t plan to stop in the future. Their souls are so tasty. WhatI consider a God is Universe itself, with all its laws being controled by omniscient consciousness that can alter them as it likes, but isn''t bound by them it the slightest. Me, I am nothing like that. Yes, I can snap star out of existence, actualy do that a lot, but even a simple Black Hole, if im not careful, is a bit dangerous for me. That''s not a God at all. This is why the name is only a Demigod. Probably a bit overboard even that, but can''t start calling myself immortal or somthing as silly now can I?" Said voice in happy tone.


    In my mind still echoed words that he ate souls of gods and something about stars.


    "Do you planto eat my soul as well?" I asked and with my own words, remembered what caused me being discovered in the first place, that bastard mage traped the soul of my brother.


    "Hmm, not realy,I doubtit''s tasty or anything." Said voice with amusement.


    "Yes, of course, you wont be intersted. If it''s somethig even mortal mage can easily get, it must be below you to even bother." I said with a sad voice still thinking about brother.


    "Mortal can get a soul?! Pff ha ha ha ha ha ha. Now thats absurd joke. Let me see..." Said a voice and pain asaulted me for a brief moment.


    "I see, well fret not little girl, your brother soul is on its way to be reincarnated... though with some handicap. What that punny mortal took is a residing energy inside the body of your brother. Just because he died, all energy his body had didn''t disaper like some silly magic. I don''t know why you people call it a soul. Well, know this little girl, no other being can do a shit to a soul. Well, besides myself or other Demigod if there is one. It was one hard nut to crack even for myself. How long wasI unable to properly punish those self proclaimed gods when they pissed me. Eat a planet they pretend to guard, tossthem into a star - nothing! Alive and kicking, scared as shit, but still kicking. Could almost see those bastards wavivng while swiming to reincarnate. That''s it, utilI learned to consume souls. Now they flee at the sight of me, he he he. By the way didI said they are tasty?" What this Demigod just said calmed about brother, but was scary at the same time.

 Chapter 3

    "Is destroying a star some big deal? From time to time they fall on their own, and from ones we found, they are just rocks" I said.


    "Seriously? What is this? Got a bit magic and astronomy got stuck at stone age? What kind of civilization is this? Now you will tell me next that world you live on isn''t round but some stupid flat plane on turtles back or something?" asked Demigod with a voice full of sarcasm.


    "Forget it. No point for words when we can have a little lesson tour." Before I could even answer his questions with the sound of fingers snapped my body/soul froze.


    "Now listen well, little girl, the world you live on is a planet, hmm let me check, ah yes planet called Sand, he he he. How interesting, we name other planets with interesting names, but the one we live on is always earth, dirt, sand or a mountain. Guess that''s what you get when name the world you live on with what you stand on. Hmm, sand because talking on the road? Anyway, look closely." said Demigod and we started to fly up at very fast speed, our capital soon became a little spot in the horizon and in no time, before me I could see round thing he called a planet - my world in all its beauty.


    "I know what you are thinking little girl, howcome people don''t fall at the bottom right? Well just imagine that real bottom is the center of planet. No mater where you stand on it, bottom will allways be down bellow." said Demigod and we started getig close to one of moons.


    " Behold a moon. Basicly just smaller planet flying around your planet like it has nothing beter to do. Same with other moon." Said Demigod and before I could say anything we started move again this time to the sun.


    "And this my little girl is a sun. Let meactivate teacher mode, ahem ahem. Sun is just a name your people gave to it, but it''s basicly a star like any others you see in the sky. Its just that its closer, thats why it looks biger. Oh and your planet fly around it like it has nothing beter to do he he. Once it finishes one lap it''s year for you people, hmm almost two from my origin planet, ah, nevermind. You probaly have no idea just how big stars are and how dangerous for any mortal. Remember the size of your planet Sand? Pff,he he it''s so funy no mater how many times you hear it, well at least its not a dirt. Anyway, if you stack your planet one after another on top of each other next to Sun, you would need nearly four hundreed of them just so they can reach same height. Sun is basicly one friging huge fireball. Its surface is hoter by fourten times than melting point of mithril. Impressive isnt, well but thats is just coldest point of your sun. Insides are at least six hundreds times hoter than that. Hmm but thats just becuause its blue. Other stars are usualy much colder than yours, though some still can be even hoter. Soooo, stil think snaping star is a childs game little girl?" Asked Demigod after long lecture and with a sound of fingers snaped Sun disapered for a moment and apeared again moment later after another sound of fingers snaped.

    "Well back to cruel world little girl, we have business to discuss." Said Demigod and with sound of snaped fingers we were back in study room with ''picture'' a bit diferent before we left, but then again time wasnt frozen solid. Just slowed beyond reason. Me in ''picture'' was still being raped by same guy from before.


    "What business ? What do you want ?" I asked with a bit of anticipation. maybe i could somehow get my revenge. Even my soul wouldnt be price to high. Ah i forgot, he already said it doesnt interest him, but cant imagine anything else i could give. Im already dead after all, well almost.


    "Why of course its your body my dear little girl" Said Demigod with what i thought playfull tone.


    And i was lost for words what to say.


    "Oh dont look at me like that little girl, im not a prevert. Mostly. Hmm ok i might be a little. A ..anyway we are geting off topic here. Sigh. Well in this dimension we have two days of time worth til your body dies so i guess i can tell a tale ..." Said Demigod. Not that i look at him or anything. All this time all i could do is hear his voice from all around me, without knowing how he looks like. If Demigods have body at all. And before he could continue i interupted.


    "This dimension ?"


    "Well yes of course, you dont expect me to change time as i see fit for a whole universe with a snap of my fingers do you ? After all im just poor little Demigod." Said a guy who snaps suns out of existence for fun and eats self proclaimed gods.


    "Then what is this" I point at stil frozen view in front of me. And get iritated again when notice ''picture'' me on the table.


    "This little girl, is diferent dimension, special one at that. I call it Dimension X or just X for short, because it sounds cool and why not. There time flows diferently and its connected to world at the same time in strangest of ways. Reason why we can see whats happening in the world from there, but most importantly i still have lots of my tricks working from there. There are other dimensions, but none have convenient stuff like that. Actualy one of my latest discoveries. just a twelve thousand years ago i couldnt do shit like that. Anyway since day of my discovery of X all my Deal propositions were done in them. Lots of time for chitchat or education and other fun stuff like peeping. Uhh you didnt heard last part ok ?"


    This is most eccentric Demigod i ever meet.


    "What is that business or Deal you are talking about ?" I asked with hope igniting again, no mater how you look at it, it sounds like i could get somthing out of it. And from being that could rival .. ha ha silly me. What a wrong wording with rival them. I dont know him long but i fell i understand him a bit. This eccentric Demigod has his own ideals about God and any pitfull being trying call himself as one does nothing but insult that image. Especialy when In face of Demigod, he is just a snack. Anyway im sure that wharever deal this is, i can expect somthing nice. Especialy since all i need to pay is my body. It cant be worse than what i already expierenced.


    "The Deal is simple little girl, i get your body to possess and you get wish within reason fullfiled. Oh and happy reincarnation with a boost and retained memories, shouold you choose to keep that ability. Hmm maybe add some cheat powers as bonus package. I mean what kind of reincarnation adventure she woud have without cheats. Yes yes sounds about right. Oh im so exited, lets see .. immortal body til puberty. Yes yes we dont want some accidental slip on ice or meteor to end adventure premature ..." answered Demigod and started to ... talk to himself ?

 Chapter 4

    "I would like to ask question why you need my body ? Im sure with your power you could create body of your choice with a snap of fingers. And judging from voice you use, you are male. At least i think so." Last part i added with uncertainty. I hope i didnt offended him .. uhh it ? .. Wait a second, he did introduced himself as Demigod, it would be Demigodess if i was wrong right ?


    "It doesnt mater if i was man or woman before little girl. You like oposite gender because your body is made so. Will you still like girls (when you are newly made girl yourself) if you look at their naked body and feel absolutely nothing ? Hmm a bit envy maybe, but other than that nothing. But quite opposite happens in boys case ? You might try resist it by clinging to memories of what you ''should'' fell, but body needs will win eventualy. I was on both sides many times, no point to even bother. As for why i go trough all this trouble ... what do you think i have too much on my hands ?"


    "Power ?" i tried to guess.


    "There is no such thing as too much power. Ahem .. to answer you question no, what i have to much on my hands is time. When you do same thing once or twice its fun, hundred or tousand still berable. But what if almost every thing you expierenced or did is at least billions of times ?"


    And there it hit me. A godlike being with power to get evrything you want. Over ages eating each of dishes billions of times, looking at similar scenery billions of times, hearing same jokes billions of times ...


    "Yes little girl, you will get very very bored. So bored you can actualy go crazy. But i found a solution before that happened he he. You see what could help with routine is a good story ,tale or just simple game with somthing unexpected. Now all is good, but there isnt much unexpected for me. Thats why i follow lots of rules like in a game to make a nice story" After a little pause he continues.


    "When i got here little girl, i followed my rule to take over a body that is about to die. Then i followed my second rule and choose it to be body closest to location i selected beforehand, in my old world without knowing anything about this one. And like this little Demigod, if Deal is made and all rules are met, will become a little girl and play a role by rules to create a story. By the way, third rule is your wish little girl, if it doesnt go against forth one and that one is secret."


    Somehow it wasnt what i expected. This means he .. her should Deal be made, will fullfil my wish pesonaly as its goal.     Whoa. That was totaly unexpected, this is so overwhelming. There is no reason to even think though. I had my answer the moment i heard word mother. All this short time we talked during deal and after it, i felt this strange closure between us. Yes i wanted escape when noticed her perversion rubing on me. But the moment i entered sphere and was snaped outside room, i felt stab in my hearth and loneliness. And now its like fate itself doesnt want us to separate.

I am Celina Darkmoon heir of Darkmoon House and beautiful mage to boot he he. Now with this out of the way .."     I tried to attack, but my body wasnt responding. Every muscle was strained trying to do contradictory actions at the same time and keeping me paralyzed in the process.

And then i saw how one part of lightning traveling over mages foot launched trough all five of them, leaving charred bodies in its wake and deafening thunder. Mage keept working with magic tool and didnt even bothered to turn around to face soldiers, like their entrance and thunder didnt even happened. Then she stoped, smiled and lifted orb above her head. Soon ligtning started to gather at orb making it shine and air around vibrate, making humming sound. I wanted to step back only to be reminded by body that im still paralyzed. After a bit orb exploded releasing sphere of light expanding and traveling in all directions at fast pace, reaching horrizon in only few moments.


    "There ... oh they almost outside ? Not bad, seems my help might be not even necessary. Still, beter to make sure. He might be a candidate for husband" Said mage and after making few steps stoped and turned to me.

Uhh back to topic, this ''Spirit of Lightning'' is not made up, i actualy created it. Didnt miss all this lightning over surface of my body right ? Besides many other bonuses, it can even help defend while you are sleeping. From this day forth our and our only offsprings will have one of their own at birth too. Custom made genes and shit like that. Cant be ''Empress of Lightning'' for nothing he he he. Oh wait a second .. umm that doesnt include you, i altered my genes ''after'' i got pregnant. Behind us we could hear soldiers shouts only far into distance. Our speed was just incredible like this. Occasionally some soldiers were sent flying by accident push. I couldnt help but chuckle every time it hapened and mom started to bump into them more often. Soon we reached dungeons of Palace. With bang and flying wood splinters, we entered holding cell and finaly stoped.


    "Hmm not bad, not many would guess entrance to secret escape tunnel in holding cell for prisoner. Hmm lets not search for switch or somthing and leave with a bang." Said mother and lightning surounding us started intensify and soon we turned into lightning. We charged forth, destroying walls and ceiling all around us, into tunnel behind hidden wall. Destruction caused collapses right behind us. But after few seconds of flight we returned from lightnig form to human and continued forward by runing. Just those few seconds in lightning form let us travel most of the tunnel.


    But now with runing we didnt caused cave ins behind us. When enemy will find entrance there will be no way to follow. Would be easier to dig new tunnel. Not long after, we were reaching end of tunel and saw group of cloaked people resting. Mom reduced runing speed and by time we reached them it was just a bit faster than normal human being.

    Mom walked near wall sat down and started meditate.

 Chapter 9

    /Gabrielle Goldmore POV


    I look at my magic tool orb and cant stop being amazed. No arrays, no preparation with dozen scrolls of blueprints to check and recheck before even starting to enchant. Once we were outside there was Leo with Jade standing and behind them we could see five direwolfs. Good. After all we will ride and not walk.

 Chapter 10

    /Still Gabrielle Goldmore POV


    "I know we needed mounts but, wasnt that risky ? Horn could attract more than just direwolfs." asked Celina of Leo when he was riding nearby. She was huging prince Tomas from behind on the back of Alpha direwolf. It was totaly coincidence that, when we were choosing mounts, i indirectly blocked her path, and she ended up riding together with my cousin.


    "No need to worry. Even if there were somone within reach of horn ..." answered Leo then put horn to lips and slightly blew. All direwolfs glanced at him at the same time.


    "As you noticed, humans cant hear it. Only some demi-human races and beast are able to hear its sound." continued Leo.


    "And no demi-human are allowed in Zolmor army. I see ..." smiled Celina and leaned closer to cousins back. And i could see him tremble a bit with face red. With chuckle i leaned closer to Jade as well. With seven people and five mounts two of them had to carry more. At first i was worried when remembered her lightning spirit. Thinking that this might be painful journey for cousin, but he, as well as direwolf, showed no discomfort from her touch at all.


    After few hours of travel trough forest, we finaly found cave. Our large detect range helped with that a lot. It would be hard to do that without, while hindered by trees and lack of light at evening. While we were setting up camp Leo and Ace departed to hunt and by the time we finished, they returned while draging corpse of bear. That was quick. After geting some of its meat for our travels, rest was feed to direwolfs. Camp was separated for girls and boys. Maybe cousin had some illusions of more my ''help'', but i wont budge. Just today Celina became mother against her will. Should be happy with pleasant ride i setup for him.


    Next morning we departed while it was still a bit dark. After few hours we spoted village to our right with detect. Some Zolmor soldiers were making mess there, by forcing some girls come with them and villagers tried to prevent that. Its only mater of time till people start dying.

    "We ..we will be exposed. But we will be far away by then. They cant do anythig by then." tried justify Jade.


    "Exactly. We will be away but villagers not. First with this location and Luara as start, they will deduce that somone capable dealing with squad, is heading for Arcae. Second, people they send to check for missing squad will be numerous and thirsty for blood. It wont end just with few dead and some missing woman. Will be lucky if whole village wasnt blazed to the ground, just to be sure. And third, if they know our destination, its not only army that we have to worry about. What if they have spies at Arcae ? High rank commanders have communication tool. You remember what hapened with our portal gates at Luara dont you ? In the end it will spell their doom and possibly ours." what cousin said is right. I havent though this far, we cant let our emotion rule over us.


    "Grrr" growled Jade and turned away from village.

    /Nina and Celina POV


    After flying in lightning form, we crash landed not far from soldiers with a bang and created cloud of dust.


    "cough cough ... Uhh i hope no one heard this. Dramatic entrance would be totaly ruined." complained in whisper mother.

    "Shocked to see me ?" asked loudly, but no one could respond, still being in slight paralysis from shock. He he shocked ..


    "You are right to do so he he he. Now kneel and beg for your lives, for you are in pressence of ''Empress of Lightning''. " said mother loudly in pompous voice.

They slowly spined around body four feets away and grew larger from lightning striking them from body now and then.


    "She is mage ! Qickly knock her out, before she has chance to cast spell." Paralysis was tempoary because we heard shout from one of soldiers, that looked like some leader. He quickly toke out silver handle and chanted "Water whip !". With those words water whip formed from handle and hanged in the air.


    "A spellblade huh ?" mutered mother, then raised her hand and with fingers snaped one of flying orbs launched to leader splattering him in the process with innards and blood flying in all directions. Remains of orb hit ground and electrocuted soldiers again, making them stop for a moment.


    "Ahhh ..so refreshing, to kill stuff without snap just doesnt feel right." muttered mother with ecstasy on her face. Then lifted another hand while lowering previous and with snap another soldier turned into fountain of blood by second orb of light. By the time third soldier meet same fate, all had look of terror in their face.


    "This is your other desire you talked about ?" i asked mother.


    "Yep yep. I was itchy all over with desire to snap somone. But lightning coulnt express image i had in mind for finger snap motion. Anyhow time to play weak" muttered mother.


    "Tremble and feeaar .. ! " started mother with pompous voice while lightning formed new orbs of light and then amulet on her neck shattered.


    "Eh ?!" mother faked surprise and then fear, while lightning orbs dissipated.


    "W ..wait a b..bit" stuttered mother while pretending trying form orbs of light again, without any success.


    "This is our chance ! Get her !" shouted one of soldiers that recovered from last paralysis and started charge with others following.

    "Aaaahhh !!" screamed mother and started to run away in north direction. With lightning making her just a tiny bit faster than soldiers, leading them away from village.


    "Cant wait to get my hands on her" shouted one of chasing soldiers.


    "First will have to somehow turn off that lightning thing around her" added other.


    "How much will she get us as slave ?" asked slowest soldier.


    "Dont count ahead of time, she still might have some tricks up her sleeve" shouted chase leading soldier.


    While runing, mother pretended to attempt incantation only to fail from stuttering. And after half hour of runing she finaly ''managed it''.

    And with that turned into lightning, started to fly low and just slow enough, for soldiers to see her destination still being north.


    "You think after this they will call you as ''Empress of Lightning'' ?" i asked.

    After we flew away from soldiers eyesight, twenty Bo or so, we launched into air at full speed and pierced clouds. Then after a bit of sightseeing above clouds returned to prince and co.

 Chapter 11

    "Empress of Lightning huh ?" asked Gabrielle with smirk on her face while returning cloak we left behind with her.


    "Saw it trough detect ? Err ..girl have rights to have a dream !" pouted mother while puting cloak on.


    "Thank you" suddenly mother was huged by Jade leaving her with only one sleeve of cloak put in. Confused mother looked at others for help.


    "When she was little, her mother died during raid of bandits, who targeted her village. So she allways had weak heart for stuff like these." steped in closer Leo and pat on Jade shoulder.


    "Trained hard since then and managed join royal guards without any background of nobility." He continued and Jade started to feel uncomfortable from attention and released mother.


    "One of fastest and strongest wariors we have. If had magic gift would be captain without a doubt. If i had to fight without my adventages as spellblade, i wouldnt be her match. Lars still dreams about beating her at least once though."


    "Hey ! Last time i almost managed." complained Lars.


    "Yeeaah suuure. With the help of two friends." laughed Leo.


    "Ha ! Win is a win." declared Lars proudly.


    "And you still lost." laughed Leo and prince with his cousin started to giggle. Jade pretended its not her busines, but her tail was swinging back and forth.

    "We should start moving. Direwolfs had enough rest and we are still very far from our destination." Said Leo and headed to direwolfs.


    Soon we departed and continued our journey to Arcae. Every now and then we stoped to rest and journey was mostly uneventful, til we reached end of forest. End of forest meant end of cover and travel in plain sight. After direwolfs enjoyed their last hunt here, we headed for road leading to Arcae and now traveled at faster pace. When we stoped near lake for next stop it was almost halfway to our destination. Lake meant refilled water supplies, after boiling it, and of course our long awaited bath. None had luxury for that in a while. And of course girls had their turn first.


    "Hmm ?" looked questioningly Jade, when felt mothers gaze.


    "Dont mind me, just curious. Never saw you without cloak." Said mother while checking her body. Not counting tail and wolf ears her body was moslty like human, with exeption of having additional knee at crural and feet more that of a wolf just way biger. Front torso and face had skin just like of a human. But back, arms bellow elbow and legs, had a slightly noticable fur with grey color, just like her hair. And like all lycans she had glowing in the dark, golden eyes.


    "Its not dangerous to step in ?" asked Gabrielle, standing naked near shore and looking at us.


    "Mmm ? ..ah .. you are about lightning spirit. Nope. If i am not agitated or in danger it means no harm he he." answered mom and with that Gabrielle entered water and came closer to us.

Almost every mage we have today is born from noble Houses, thanks to careful marriages only between gifted with magic. If child is born betwen two mages, there is forty percent chance for baby to be mage. If only one parrent is mage, that chance is few percent at best. And if none of parrents is mage, only one out of few millions born is a mage. If nobles married out of love or those they fancy, we would have only few mages wandering our lands."


    "Uhh so complicated" grimaced Jade.


    "... Its been like this for ages." Said Gabrielle after surfacing from quick dive underwater. With washing of our backs done, we were separated a bit now, but still facing each other in circle.


    "As for man ... neither my parrents nor supposed fiance survived war. So decision of my marriage is in hands of my cousin now, as he is present head of Goldmore. Depending how things turn out, my marriage might be needed to secure power or standing. As long as what he picks for me looks decent, i will be happy." She said and after another dive, tossed her hair to the back with quick movement of head.


    "Mmm sounds a bit sad ... what about you ?" asked Jade facing mother.


    "Hmm i guess, i have full freedom in my case." said mother and after looking at belly added.


    "After giving birth that is. If i had to choose i would like him to be strong and ..."


    "Wow just like me ?" interrupted Jade with smile plastered on her face. "Mmm but i think you have a problem. From what you showed so far, to find somone who can beat you fair and square ... mmm ... immposible." said Jade, then suddenly her ear twitched.


    "Did you heard that ?" she asked while facing in direction of trees with thick bushes around.


    "If its not some wandering beast, then somone is looking for beating." Said Gabrielle facing bushes.


    "If its Lars, i will beat him to a pulp" said Jade while heading out of water with eyes glimmering dangerously.


    "He he. If that was the case, i will lend you a hand. But what if its not ?" asked mother heading out of water as well.


    "Hmm ... i will let it slide then i guess, everyone needs some distraction." said Jade and then launched on all four, to direction of bushes, still stark naked.


    Mother and Gabrielle, with hands covering private parts, started to head near left clothes. And after some loud noices we could hear Jade.


    "Look whom i found !" she said and pushed culprit ahead of her into view and headed to us, who still had no chance to get dressed.


    "Cousin?! I cant believe it. How could you ?! And Jade, cover yourself already. And why you ran out naked like this ?" barraged with questions Gabrielle, while prince was trying find place to look at, without inventing new shade of red with his face. His glance stayed on mother quite often making her giggle. While Gabrielle and mother were covering private parts with hands, it was still sight to see for any man.


    "Mmm ? Ah .. well he already saw everything there is to see. And if i was slow, criminal would have escaped. Besides when served in army, i often had to bath with men so im used to it." said Jade and walking over her clothes started dressing without care.


    "I c..can explain ... Its not what it looks like" started defend himself prince, still secretly stealing glance now and then all over mothers body.


    "I wanted to prevent Lars ..." he continued with excuse.


    "Ahh .. so sweet, peeping on me like that. Mmm ... you just earned yourself a few more points my dear prince" whispered mom.


    "I cant believe it mom ! He just peeped on you andits his good side for you ?" I complained.


    "Hmm ? Oh .. its not like that little Nina. I might be pervert, but im not a slut. If it was somone else, i would beat him to a pulp. But if you are peeped by man you fancy, it makes your heart racing. If he shows more strong or cool points, i might actualy fall for him. Though i start to think that its fated to fail." whispered mother.


    "Why ?" i asked.


    "Becuase if i someday marry him into his House, Darkmoon will cease to exist, but with state of Goldmore neither can he." answered mother in a bit sad whisper.


    After a bit more of scolding we dressed up, with prince facing other direction, and returned to Camp. After seeing us Leo blushed for some reason.


    "Why is your face red too Leo ?" asked Gabrielle with suspicion evidant in her eyes. After what prince Tomas did she had no faith even in Leo.


    "Sorry, when i heard commotion, i used detect and saw what i shouldnt" answered Leo apologeticly.


    "Dammit ! Why cant there be detect tools for those without magic gift. Life is so unfair." Lars started ranting only to recieve hit from passing by Jade.

 Chapter 12

    /Jade POV


    I blocked both swords of oponent with pair of my own and quickly sidesteped to avoid incoming swing of spear from the side. Directing swords in deadlock with swordsman i pressed with them spear that missed and used side kick on oponent with spear. Spearman jumped backwards to avoid and oponent with swords used that moment to sweep my leg with his kick. I jumped and used leg in the air from previous sidekick, with a spin of my body, to kick swordsman and at the same time launching myself to oponent with spear that jumped earlier. While in the air i used both swords at the same time for spining strike, which was blocked with spear, but stabilizedme and stagered him in the process. Have only one second till swordsman reengage, but thats enough. I used leg to sweep him of the ground, but leg was blocked by shaft of spear stabed into ground. Withone of swords keeping upper part of spear locked, i used another to reach for neck. One down. I quickly jumped to the side just in time to avoid swings from swords. After short staring contest i attacked with one sword leaving other ready. Oponent blocked with one of his own and attacked with other sword. I sidesteped with a spin and while using our deadlocked swords, directed them to one that just missed, making both swords of his occupied with my one. And stil in spin from sidestep i attacked his neck with my ready sword. Oponent jumped back, but i already anticipated this and jumped at same time and blade reached his neck.


    "And another victory for Jade." declared Leo and i withdrew blade from Lars neck. He is getting beter. If he was like this when i joined royal guards, he would be a bit stronger, than me at that time. Timing of that leg sweep was perfect. If i reacted just a fraction second later, spar might ended with my loss. Too bad he is still a prick.


    "Fuck ! This is even faster than before !" crumbled on his knees Lars.


    "By the way, how you managed persuade Ace to help you this time ?" asked Leo while Ace was placing his spear near rucksack. Ace spearsmanship is getting beter too. I was very proud of myself, when managed to win in spar againstLars, Ace and Nash back then.


    "Im charming person, i have my ways." said Lars after jumping on his feet and with head held high, no signs of depression from just a second ago.


    "Money." said Ace while rummaging trough rucksack. And most around started to laugh.


    "So what count it is now ?" asked peeping prince and i started to count. Uhh i hate mathematic, its necesary or i will get fooled in market, but that doesnt prevent me from hating it. So all started ...


    "Four" answered Lars and when Leo chuckled and was about to say something he quickly added.


    "Ok ok its hundred forty three with this one. Next time i will definitly win." Said Lars with determination in his eyes.


    "Come on, leave me out of your conquest for glory already." i complained, this persistent bastard is so annoying.

    "Why ?" If i had to gues, bastard just wants bragging rights that he defeated me. I was quite famous as strongest in royal guards ... if we dont count spellblades. Ohh ..come to think about it, Gabrielle did mentioned about weird marriages betwen mages only, among nobles. Must be why not a single spellblade was interested in me. They might be not mages officialy, but its still gift of magic. Hah ... nobles and their magebreeding.


    "Because he wants you and with that strange rule for your man..." Said Celina this time.


    "What ?! Hmm, no. You are wrong. I clearly said i will accept man only if he beats me fair and square in duel. If i remember right, he challenged to duels only few times. Its allways two on one, and few times he somehow managed nag me into accepting three on one. No mater how you look at it, its not a duel and definitely not fair and square." I denied their claim.


    "i wouldn''t be so sure, did he ever asked you directly ?" asked Gabrielle this time.


    "No." i answered, still not sure how it changes anything.


    "You would be surprised how tales change after retold by many lips. Maybe what he heard was to just win." Said Celina with mischievous smile.


    "Oh .." So all that pestering with countless challanges ...


    "Hey Lars !" i shouted facing him and he turned his head my way. "Just so we are clear. Probably heard about my rule that i will accept man if he beats me ? Let me tell you, its only if he does that in fair and square ''duel''." I said while emphasizing word duel.


    "What ?!" he said with shocked face and after a bit cursed "Fuck !".


    So its true ! All that naging for challanges day after day. I allways welcome sparing match, be it duel or one against many. But the way he did it was getting on nerves. There are times when you just have your own plans, but he just kept naging until i accept. I ended up getting irritated just from seeing him.

    Its been almost whole day ago, when prince Tomas was renamed to peeping prince. I dont mind calling him that, it sounds funny. I dont know whats the big deal with peeping though. In army you dont have luxury to be separated between boys and girls. Officers maybe, but not common soldiers. There were some clever lads with funny ideas at start. But its nothing a good beating couldnt fix. And with time you just learn to not see their gaze when bathing.


    Not counting that sparring match at one of our rest stop, nothing of interest happened thus far. Soon we will be at Arcae City.


    "Wait" i heard Leo and after we stoped our direwolfs, waited his further words.


    "There is ambush ahead. From the looks of it, its some bandits." answered Leo while looking at his detect orb in hand.


    "Could tell more once we are closer, they are at edge of detection range." he continued.


    "What we will do ?" asked Gabrielle.


    "We could probably easily pass without issue. No bandits with brain will attack armed group riding direwolfs, but ..." Said Leo.


    "Oh come on, let our little wolf get some blood on her hands." interrupted Lars while looking at me. Hmm so he ''can'' be nice, if he wants to. I definitly was going sugest to kill those scums.


    "Yes they will let us pass." started peeping prince "But they definitly will be the cause of death for many travelers and merchants to come. We might needed to avoid alerting enemy soldiers, but that doesnt include bandits. There was only one answer from the start. What we will do is .."


    "Kill." finished Ace with evil smile on his face.


    And same smille appeared on my face.


    We stared at each other, with doom spelling grinfor a bit and then started laugh all at once.


    ''Enjoy your life while you can scum, because its coming to end''. I thought while facing direction where bandits should be.

 Chapter 13

    ''This is disappointing'' i thought while cutting throat of bandit ahead of me, slightly leaned to the side to avoiding swing of sword from another bandit, cut off his arm and followed that with cut to throat with other sword. Then just stood still and waited for two more to get up from my leg sweep earlier. Seriously, what is this ? I knocked them like four seconds ago. And by the looks of it, they will need few more to be battle ready. If i wanted, could finish them off like ten times already.


    I quickly glance around while keeping my awareness of bandits ahead. Ace at his side, with swing of spear just knocked one bandit off his feet and with same swing cut throat of another. Lars on his side is slowly approaching bleeding bandit, that has his both legs cut off, while other just stands nearby like idiot.


    Leo walks near Gabrielle with disappointment on his face. He just guards Gabrielle now and she is just looking around. After she dealt withinitial threat of archers, there was no need for more magic. Peeping prince just stands here with mouth wide open, he had no chance to do anything and there was of course no need for Celina''s backup either.


    "You bitch !" roared one of bandits that finaly got on their feet.


    Almost yawning i parry swings of theirs with my both swords and while guiding their swords a bit to the side i turn them and slice their heads off at the same time. Are all bandits this weak ?


    I try to remember day when my village was raided, but all i could see are flashes of people being cut and my mother covering me with her body and blood driping from her mouth. I shake my head from unpleasant memories and look at others once again. Ace now is cleaning his spearhead with riped cloth from some bandit. Needless to say all around him are dead. That gave me idea that i should do that withmy swords too. Lars is holding sword pierced trough throat of standing bandit, otherwithout legs seems died off shock or bleeding, because i cant see any new wounds on him.


    Just like i said, its disappointing. I guess they attacked only weak prey, without receiving any retaliation.


    Though i have to admit, without Gabrielle taking care of arrows, it might have been different. I have confidence that with their number of archers and my speed, i would be fine. But if Lars or Ace missed just one arrow... One wound would lead to another and in no time that might ended really bad. Leo ? Well he is spellblade. Besides lucky shot into eyes, he has nothing to worry about from such threat as arrows.


    "Well this was disappointing" said Leo while dispersing water whip and puting back silver handle. Gabrielle at his side is frowning from the sight of all corpses.


    I chuckle at words of Leo. They were ringing in my head this whole ''fight'', then i turn around and stop aproaching direwolf from eating corpse. You shouldnt allow mounts to eat human flesh. We could use direwolfs in battle as well, but there was no need. And with travels ahead, we cant afford get them injured. All we did, was use them for quick approach before jumping off.


    "Hmm guess i will just burn corpses then. Should have launched some spell before you guys engaged. Had no chance for any action." said peeping prince with sad face.


    I tore some cloth from nearby bandit and started cleaning my swords. As royal guards our weapons are made of mithril. No need to worry about chips from choping off limbs or heads.This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.


    "Ok start draging them in one place, will burn them and we can move on. From the looks of it, there will be rain soon." said peeping prince with a glance to dark clouds covering horrizon at the distance.


    We did as he said. It has nothing to do with respect for dead or something like that. We cant kill bandits to protect their victims to be, just to allow undeads to be born.


    "I will be of no help soon." frowned Celina.


    "Hmm ? Why ?" i asked. While looking at peeping prince chanting some spell in front of pile of copses.


    "Water is my weakness ... well if i have to worry about friendly fire that is. I can normaly fully controll whom i hit with lightning. But if ground is wet, attacks with lightning will harm all around as well." said Celina while gazing at dark clounds in the distance.


    "But we even bathed together yesterday and there was nothing wrong." i objected.


    "Thats because when im not aggitated or attacking, spirit of lightning is in mana form. It doesnt harm that way." Said Celina while scratching behind my ear emphasizing her point.


    "Mrrr" i accidently leaked sound of satisfaction. Cant be helped, ears are my weak spot.


    With bodies dealt with, we resumed our journey and just in half hour we could see City of Arcae. There were many farms around it, but most people were inside or heading to their houses. Before we could enter City, we were caught in the rain.


    "Halt ! State your name and purpose of visit." said one of guards at the gate with sulky face. Well standing in the rain isnt exatly pleasant.


    "Celina Darkmoon, heir of Darkmoon House and those are my guards" said Celina while showing her House insignia and then pointed at us.


    "Just passing trough. Plan leaving soon trough portal after checking my property." As agreed before she used only her name. With risk of word spreading, discovery of royalty can be bad.


    I was vigilantly observing reactions of guards and was ready to act with any signs of hostility.


    "Sorry for my insolence Lady Darkmoon, but its my duty to ask your guards to show their palm of right hand." Asked guard and faced us. We did as he asked and with no scorch mark on our palm guards relaxed. If we had, it would mean that we were criminals exiled from one of Cities and thus trouble.


    Besides looking surprised, fromCelina''s spirit of lightning, i couldnt detect any hostility from guards. But one was a bitsuspicious. Unlike others, i could smell excitement from him, when he noticed lightning.


    "That would be all. Sorry to say Lady Darkmoon, but square with gates should be closed at the moment. We had heavy usage of portals during day and it affected our mana well. It should be open in the morning." said guard and steped aside to let us pass.


    "Psst Leo. Keep an eye on one with red hair." i whispered to Leo before we started to move. Leo with a nod looked athis detect orb.


    "Our Darkmoon House have small manor south east from there, we will hide from rain and sleep there." said Celina showing us the way.


    "I havent seen it personaly yet. Its a place for meetings or lodging, when our House have dealings in this City." she continued and we passed trough streets, some bystanders werejumping back when noticed us. He he, seeing direwolf up close when you turn around, ''can'' be scary.


    Soon we arrived to her manor and after Celina showed insignia to guards outside gate, we entered territory of manor. We left direwolfs at the stables and headed for manor front doors. As for that suspicious guard, he headed away from gates the moment we entered City. Leo lost track of him though, once he entered some nobles manor. This might spell some trouble for us.


    "Wha .. ! Who are you ?" asked startled maid of vixus race when we entered inside manor. Young, could see only two tails. And they were pure white just like her hair. Quite unusual for her race.


    "We havent meet yet, i am Celina Darkmoon" introduced herself Celina


    "And they are my friends." added while gesturing at us.


    I quickly glanced around. Clean and nice, not too pompastic though, as it was norm at royal palace we sreved. With discomfort becoming more evidenti starteddreaming to get rid of those wet clothes as soon as possible.


    "Ah .. please excuse me for my rudeness Lady Darkmoon." deeply bowed maid "I am Vivian, and am in charge to take care of this manor."

 Chapter 14

    /Prince TomasPOV


    "Manor communication array was working. I contacted my uncle at Redwater''s Edge and he promised organize tomorrows meeting in his name." said Celina while sitting on couch.


    "Good, once at Redwater''s Edge we will meet them. With Darkmoon influence and a bit of my help, it should go smoothly." i said trying keep my mind on the topic. Celina, siting in front of me, wraped only in towel after bath, didnt helped at all.


    "Yes, its a pity we cant do same for Arcae" she said examining magic tool orb in her hands.


    "Risk is too high. We might try from Redwater''s Edge, but only then." I said.


    What we discuss here is attempt to save some of our Citties and territory by becoming part of Aizerus Alliance. They might no do it for free, but its beter than left without nothing. And no gurante it wont fail anyway, but its a chance. Without Celinas contacts and communication we would be just runing away with tails betwen legs.


    "Vivian" i awoke from my thoughts at words of Celina and looked at fox maid. I have never seen vixus race with white tails.


    "Yes my lady ? ..." answered maid.


    While maid was recieving orders, my gaze returned back to Celina. I was bewitched by her beauty when i first saw her at my seventh birthday party. Since then she was on my mind. I wanted father to arrange my double wedding with her, but she was single heir candidate of Blackmoon House. It was possible to marry into her House, but not for her into ours. And as future king and head of Goldmore, neither could i. So i just patiently waited til her father managed produce another mage and new heir candidate with that ...


    "Ah ... that was great. Way beter than cold water." said Gabrielle after entering meeting hall. And just like Celina was wraped only in bath towel. I just hope Jade isnt walking somewhere naked.


    "So everything is ready peeping cousin ?" asked Gabrielle after sitting on couch oposite from Celina.


    "Yes and could you let it go with that nickname already ?" i asked.


    "Never my dear peeping cousin." answered Gabrielle with a smirk.


    Uhh. Its Lars fault that i am called peeping cousin by Gabrielle and peeping prince by rest, even by Lars himself. I really didnt intended to peep back then. I actualy stoped Lars from sneaking on them and stayed guard for a bit to prevent him returning. And then i was captured by Jade. And then .. and then ... that sight .. oh god. Everything was worth it. Should thank Lars for what he got me into. Hmm there will be river on the way to Farwatch. I must get my hands on detect tool in market. There is no way i will live if they catch me peeping at Celina again. Yes, must buy even if its overpriced ...


    "... peeping cousin ! Peeping cousin helloOo." i was awakened from my dreams by voice of cousin.


    "There you are. Now wipe that droll and stop trying see trouh her towel." she said with a pout and i quickly cleaned my mouth and averted my gaze from Celina chest. I can swear i heard her giggle. Uhh. With this, there is no way they will stop calling me peeping prince anytime soon.

    "Wake up ! Enemy attack !" suddenly shouted Leo and i woke up. Lars and Ace were almost battle ready already.This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.


    "How many ?" i asked while quickly puting on some clothes too. Leo opened door next room and was waking up girls.


    "Im not sure. If have to guess at least ten." answered Leo from other room.


    "What do you mean not sure ? What about detect ?" I asked and started to put my battle gloves on.


    Those are Grandmaster level enchantment tools, attached to palm of glove, with Fireball and Distort spell engraved. Specialy made for me as next head of Goldmore. Cost quite a fortune. They use just a tiny bit more mana, than what you normaly need, from full incantation. With weaknes of mage being long chant, these are quite handy. In a way, by using them, i am a bit like spellblade. Though they can never hope to use fireball even with this tool.


    "They use some sort of concealment. Cant see them with detect directly. I realized we are under attack when noticed killed guards outside. At the moment Im concentrating on footprints and sounds of footsteps with detect ...but its hard ... they split up." He said and showed up with Jade fully equiped.


    Jade quickly charged past me and after swift swing, masked head rolled trough window into middle of room. Right after that, i could hear loud bang from another room. I quickly rushed there and saw Celina facing window, then she turned to me and smiled.


    "Dont worry dear peeping prince, i just dont like being peeped by strangers he he." She said and then walked closer to window.


    I could see some blood strains on frames and walls around window. With Celina and cousin safe, i turned my gaze to corridor. I, Lars and Ace were standing at the dead end of it. Intruders most likely entered other rooms by now. Our and girl rooms were at the end of corridor, so just one direction to worry about.


    "Fireball ! ..Fireball ! " I launched two fireballs in a row, when dark clothed intruders charged from other rooms. Three of them died on the spot from blast and fire, but five more were fine. Mage ! I looked at wind barrier surrounding them.


    Leo, from inside room we were sleeping, sliced wall with water whip and charged in with Jade, trough new made entrance to room behind. There were three more enemy. Two .. one of them fell in two pieces before they reached. Must have been sliced together with wall by Leo. At the side i heard another loud bang, this time i noticed that it was caused by lightning separating from Celina and attacking somone outside manor trough window.


    "Elements of fire answer my call. Burn the enemy beofre me ..." started incantation enemy mage in corridor and from wordsi could recognize it as ''Inferno'' spell. Its area affecting spell and strong enough to hurt even trough barrier. others were tossing daggers at me, but Lars with Ace were deflecting them with weapons.


    "Distort !" I used another enchant from my gloves and disrupted spell forcing mage to cough some blood and drop to one knee from backslash.


    Leo in broken trough room, was keeping bussy other spellblade from mage group, by exchanging blows at range with water whips. Three intruders in their room were already dead and Jade was standing near Leo at the ready. From their exchange corridor and room had almost no walls separating them.


    "Elements of fire answer my call. Burn the enemy beofre me, leaving only ash behind .. Inferno !" i cast same spell that mage attempted previously and he, with spellblade and others were swallowed by fire tornado.


    "Leo are there more ?!" I quickly asked while observing other doors and windows i could see.


    Leo looked at his orb then with a swing of whip yet another entranceto room ahead was made and intruder hiding there fell to the floor.


    "Two more at first floor." said Leo after that.


    "Oh come on guys. I know its ulikely we ever return here, but could you show some mercy to my manor ?" asked pouting Celina while looking at all damage done and Gabrielle giggled at her side.


    When we got to first floor, we saw two more dark clothed people. One of them was holding fox maid under his hand. After noticing us they looked at each other and started to run in different directions.


    Celina disappeared from our side with a wind and apeared next to one of intruders with hand extended. Man flew and crashed into wall with incredible force. Body deformed beyond recognition and blood covered cracked wall. Then she disappeared with a wind again and apeared in front of other, with hand on his forehead. Fox maid sliped out from abrupt stop of her captor and slideed on the floor a bit. I quickly ran over and noticed that she is only unconscious.


    "And i though i was fast" whispered Jade with sad face while looking at corpse still stuck in the wall.


    "Now lets hope there is something usefull in that head of yours." said Celina and intruder started screaming with his body shaking.

 Chapter 15

    /Nina and Celina POV


    "So you are saying that they were only after you and had no idea about my and peeping cousin indentity ?" asked Gabrielle while looking at mother.


    "Yes those ninj .. err i mean, those Raven as they call themself, had mission to capture me and get rid of the rest." said mom while playing with amulet in her hands.


    Those amulets are reason why Leo had hard time to spot uninvited guests. As Leo after battle explained, Raven were invisible trough detect sight and he had to look for them indirectly, like sounds of breathing or footsteps. As detect wasnt meant for that, It was incredibly hard to do so.


    "But why were they after you? Are they spies from Zolmor ?" asked peeping prince while looking at lightning mom used to ''explore'' amulet in her hands.


    "No. Basicly Raven is special group of assassins or spies, that Ridsour House used when they needed to do some shady things. I guess raven stands for Ori raven species with their stealth style of hunting and all. But Ridsour is House of our kingdom, hmm should i say was ? As for why ... it seems Zolmor promised most of property and lands intact if they get me to them." answered mother and amulet in her hands shattered. She picked another from pile nearby and lightning connected her finger with new amulet.


    "But how people from Zolmor knew you will be here ? Did that stunt at village gave away ?" asked Leo.


    "They didnt knew. This was offered to most remaining human nobles of our kingdom trough communication. Capture lightning mage and reward is yours." said mother and after pause continued.


    "I have no idea why enemy are so determined on geting me though. Ones who saw true terror of my power are dead, for others im just unusual mage. It might be enemy bluff with that offer, but i dont think one mage is worth all this trouble." Said mother with smile. Amulet in her hands had glowing lines from inside and didnt showed signsit will shatter.


    "Are you sure no one saw your show of power with detect ?" asked peeping prince while glancing at Leo.


    With those words amulet in moms hands shattered with bang and mother froze.


    "Oh ... that miiigght sliped my mind" said mom with look of embarrassment.

    "Leo can you give your detect tool ?"


    Leo quickly pulled out orb and handed over to mom with happy face. Tail was swinging so hard that even created small wind. After mom toke orb she started engraving it with lightning. Everyone was looking in silence. After a bit orb started to glow trough markings and shake a bit. Leo grew even more exited. But then orb exploded with pieces scattered all around.


    "Ups" whispered mother.


    Leo froze, still with smile on his face. Then happy expression started to slowly change to that of terror. With heavy breaths body started to shiver and single tear ran onleft cheek.

Everyone looked at moms hand, but it was fine. After a bit she picked orb and started engraving with lightning. And after it was done, handed it to Leo with a smirk.

    Early in the morning we prepared for departure, taking Vivian with us. Bodies of Raven and dead guards were burned in basement to prevent undead rising. Luckily direwolfs were ignored during attack so we departed mounted. When we left manor it was still raining. Your tiny House have neither means nor authority. I suggest you turn around and crawl back into hole you came from." answered mother with pompous voice.


    "There is no more royalty thanks to you. And we will get in touch with duke rank House in time. Dont make this harder on yourself." still kept with his farce noble.


    "There is royalty right in front of you. I am Prince Tomas Goldmore, first son of our King Julian Goldmore. Your charges of betrayal are pathetic at best, now move out of the way. Or maybe you want to say you have authority to arrest me as well ?" said peeping prince revealing his face from hood and shoving his royal symbol.

 Chapter 16

    "Wind shield !" activated wind barrier Gabrielle with her orb and volley of arrows were harmlessly redirected to the side from our group.


    She used same barrier when we approached bandits day before, only this time, with lack of time for full incantationit was activated by her orb. Activating this way meant greater mana consumption, but there was little choice.


    "Archers hold your fire, shoot only when see opening, and dont hit lightning mage. Two mele squads forward and rest be at ready to support. Mages aim for upper part of barrier to drain their .. guh !." commanded leading noble and recieved direct fireball hit.


    "Fireball ! fireball ! fireball ! ..." while now dead noble was giving commands, peeping prince was launching fireballs one after another and wind barrier of cousin didnt hinder them at all. But with soldiers blocking view, he couldnt take adventage of his battle gloves and go directly for other mages, before they cast their own barriers.


    "Fuck ! Hurry with barrier already ! Spellblades, help with draining their mana ! Our mages cant use serious stuff without killing lightning mage." shouted another noble, when previous one in charge died in explosion. Mages in group of advancing soldiers were only midway of finishing chant for wind shield. By the time their first barrier appeared out of two squads advancing, only one remained with half numbers of mere nine people. They stoped and merged with threemore squads from behind. Five more were standing at ready with most mages. With apperance of barriers, mages started launch some spells at Gabrielle barrier as well. Peeping prince tried disrupt them, but most mages were hidden behind soldiers while chanting and emerged only before launch.


    Even with protection of barriers, ten more soldiers died by the time first squad was about to reach us. Barrier wasnt intended to cover so many people at once.


    "Dammit ! Fireballs are of no use against barrier." cursed prince while looking at barrier of approaching enemy. "Have to risk with Inferno, we cant let four spellblades enter inside our barrier."


    "Its too risky ! With so many mages on their side, someone will be waiting to interrupt you with distort. You cant allowyourself backslashwounds." objected Gabrielle breathing heavily, maintaing barrier under assault of spells was taking toll on her.


    "No other choice, without killing us all, Celina cant use lightning in this rain. If they get too close, i will be unable to use it anymore" answered peeping prince while looking for other mages.


    "I cant help with lightning directly in this rain, but if its only speed boost it shouldnt affect more than twenty feet around me. I will deal with mages at their back ranks once these sodiers get closer. Cant leave you til then.Without danger of killing me, they will use heavy stuff ." said mother. "Please hold on til then."


    Soon barriers of Gabrielle and enemy mage merged and soldiers charged to battle. Leo started exchanging blows with whips against few spellblades on enemy side and prevented other soldiers from geting closer as best as he could. Jade, Lars and Ace were fighting few people at once and few more spellblades were held up by direwolfs, that charged them and soldiers from flank. Many soldiers died with screams in their maws, but one after another, from whips of spellblades, beasts started fell as well. Peeping prince would launch fireball when it was possible, without hurting allies and interrupted mages from casting spells with distort. And after a bit, managed to take down one of spellblades dealing with direwolfs.     At the time when enemy just entered battle with group of peeping prince, mother ran for thirty feets or so without aid of lightning. Then she accelerated and her target mage flew to the side with his throat riped off. But with slipery ground mom lost balance by doing so and slided to the side after falling. No one could use moment of weakness, because nearby soldiers and mages were slightly electrocuted. After standing up mom speed up again and killed another mage followed by fall and tackle of few soldiers while sliding on the ground.


    "Uhh .. so unsightly" whispered mother while standing up. No one nearby could do anything this time as well, because of slight paralysis.


    "Oh come on mother. Its just a bit of dirt." i said with amusement.


    "Uhh" grunted mother and started seach for new target.


    Mages further ahead started chant spells while looking at mother, ignoring group of prince. Few whips missed mother when she tackled another mage and slided on his dead body without heart. But spellbladesbecame electrocuted trough their own whips hitting ground.


    One after another mages fell and unlike few spellblades attempts, they couldnt time spells well to offer resistance. While kill was done in a blink, most of time mom used just to slide and stand up from fall. In the end she choose to allways slide on mage body after tackle. With last mage killed mom finaly looked to peeping prince group.


    With most mages focused on mother and now even dead, Gabrielle could maintain barrier easier. But even without threat of archers, others looked exausted. Only one direwolf was left alive and had many wounds. Leo was bloody all over, but was fighting like wounds didnt even hinder him. There were only two spellblades remaining on enemy side and all mages were dead. Peeping prince was just panting heavily, while looking at battle. Slightly wounded Jade was dancing in middle of four soldiers, reducing their numbers with each passing second and Ace with few wounds here and there, was keeping three more at bay. Lars with last direwolf at his side, was attacking from flank. His right arm was missing, but that didnt made him less dangerous.


    Mother quickly killed nearby soldier and picked up his spear. Then after spining andbecoming blur, tossed with incredible speed and pierced one of spellblades engaged with Leo.


    "Dammit ! Should have fought like this from beginning. Way beter than cleaning streets with my body" hit her forehead mom after spellblade was pined to nearby wall with spear. I could only chuckle to that.


    Then she started run around with soldiers and spellblades chasing her.


    "And herd is in place. Time for some fireworks." said mom with a sudden stop and with evil grin faced soldiers that became paralyzed from slight shock mother was creating.


    "This time without rape he he ... Elements of fire answer my call. Burn the enemy beofre me, leaving only ash behind .. Inferno !" chanted mother and giant fire tornado turned paralyzed group of soldiers into ash.


    When we looked to group of peeping prince again, they were done as well. With only one spellblade left, enemy stod no chance for royal guards, even if exausted and outnumbered.


    "Go go. We dont have time to lick wounds. Soon half City will be on our tail if they get word aboutCelina." Hurried Leo.


    With battle over, most of blood on his body, was washed away by rain, and onecould see many superficial wounds closing up on their own, as he spoke. There were still some archers on roof hiding here and there, but with Gabrielle barrier still up, threat will be over once we leave their firing range.

 Chapter 17

    /Vivian POV


    I am Vivian. Until recently i served as maid at manor of Darkmoon Housein Arcae. I was orphan before that. My earliest memories are of life in streets, passing days by begging or stealing to have something to eat. But then one day all that changed, when guards of noble caught me stealing.


    I wasnt punished and instead, picked interest of that noble. As i later learned, it was because of my unique color for my race. Most vixus are golden or red with some shades of those colors, but everyone i meet said they never saw white one while young.


    Noble that picked me up, was from Darkmoon House and i was trained as maid and cook. After training was complete, i served in manor at Arcae ever since. It was happy life, i had food and roof over head and masters were nice to me. But everything changed again, when war started.


    Most nobles in manor and our soldiers in City were called by House to front lines. And only i with some guards, were left to keep manor in order and serve guests of Darkmoon House, should they need lodging or place for meetings. But with time, their visits became more seldom.


    I was happy when lady Darkmoon arrived, and even more so, when she said i will be her personal maid from now. But sooni realizen that times have changed. Same night of lady Darkmoon arrival, i was attacked and just in few moments knocked out. When i woke up, it was already over. Lady Darkmoon and her friends toke care of uninvited guests and even rescued me.


    For first time i realized just how powerless i am. I didnt wanted to be burden for my lady, but i didnt knew how to fight. Then right next morning i was reminded of my weaknessagain, when all i could do was watch them fight, what i thought as army. With immpossible odds they fought bravely and won, while all i did was shiver from sight of blood and death.


    Right after battle, i became burden again, by slowing them down. The only mount left alive, was carrying most of luggage and rest had to run on their own feet. With growl, i was tossed over shoulder, by man named Lars. And i couldnt help, but feel anger rising inside me, from frustration.


    I saw how he lost arm. While facing few men at once, water whip caught him off guard. He still cut it with his sword, but separated part of whip, cut off his arm. There was no scream. He just retreated a bit, stabbed sword into ground, picked some bottle from bag at his side and poured liquid over wound. That made bleeding stop and he charged to battle again.


    And now he was carrying me, a single person from our group, without as much as single scratch. While i was angry at myself, we reached departure gate square. After lady Darkmoon showed her House insignia, we reached our portal without incident.


    I never saw portalsin my life. Only nobles with their attendants and merchants who have special permit, are allowed to use them. It was strange sight. On our side it was raining and behind this ''water surface'' of gate, we could see sun shining in large square, even biger than the one we were in. There were more portal gates in our square, but only this one lead to our destination - City of Redwater''s Edge.


    Using portal was unpleasant, when entered trough that ''water surface'', i barely held up what i ate earlier. Once on other side we were greeted by old noble accompanied by soldiers. After he huged Lady Darkmoon i learned that he was her uncle Lord Edwin Darkmoon.


    While on the way to manor, i heard them talking and from that learned, that most from House Darkmoon have died in war. I never knew my parents, but i heard from others, that its very painfull to lose someone so close. Lady Darkmoon doesnt look older than me and she already have faced so many hardships. As we walked i learned thateighty percent of Darkmoon forces stationed at Redwater''s Edge were sent to war, and all this time her uncle tried to train more. After lady mentioned humans seeking to capture her, Lord Darkmoon reasured that the only human House with power here is Darkmoon. Rest are demi-humans and they will never make deal with Zolmor.


    Soon we reached manor and after quick bath and change of clothes departed to meeting of nobles at castle.


    During meeting of nobles, i waited outside hall. Left alone i skimed over recent events and felt frustrated again over my powerlessnes. I know maid isnt supposed to be guard, but i dont want to be burden at least. But even if i start training now, it will be years before i can be on par with simple soldier. And during that time, i would be unable to properly perform my duties as maid.


    After few hours meeting was over and we headed for communication hall. This time there were fever nobles and i stod at back of my lady and prince together with guards. After hours of their discusion i had hard time to stay awake and from time to time caught myself dozing off. Your new ranks of nobility as part of Aizerus Alliance will be discused at our capital Hull at later date. As for you Celina Darkmoon, make haste for capital and once here, you will enroll into Eruanna Academy to get official title of mage and able inherit head position of your House. Also make sure to dismantle all portals connected with old Cities of Raldus kingdom fast. Because from this day forth you will be new border of Aizerus Alliance.     After projected woman disapeared everyone started to cheer. With exception of Lars. He just silently stod with sad face. On the way there, occasionally i could see his accusing glance directed to lady Darkmoon. I didnt liked those looks, but it wasnt my place to speak.


    After few more hours of talks with projections of various people we finaly departed to our manor.


    "Lars." my lady started conversation.


    "What do you need !" Lars shouted in answer angrily.


    "Im sorry. I know you blame me for losing your arm. If i wasnt with you, no one would have attacked. All they wanted was lightning mage ... me. I will make up for it to you."


    "How will you make up for it ?! No healing magic can regrow lost limbs. Money ?! Ha ! Now i need to relearn how to even fight, because most of my moves are useless with only one sword !" shouted Lars again then looked at lycan girl walking nearby and grinded his teeth.


    "Lars thats going to far. She didnt cut your arm. Besides if you still want to challange me, i will use only one arm as well." meddled into conversation lycan girl before others and i noticed Lars relaxing a bit at the end. Did they have some history betwen them ?


    "Oh dont worry Lars. What i plan is inventing artificial mechanical arm. Our body moves because of very very weak lightning signals trough body. And guess who around here is expert of lightning and enchants he he. I will need lots of money to get my House back on its feet and artificial limbs will be our newest servises among others. And you my dear Lars, will have honor of helping me create my first prototype." said lady Darkmoon while glancing with a smile to Lars and i had no idea what she was talking about.


    "Great. So now i will be lab rat." said Lars with sarcasm, but i noticed small smile showing up on his face.


    After dinner i was seated in front of Lady Darkmoon with only us alone in the room. I feelt a bit nervous, what if she changed her mind and doesnt need me as her personal maid. I dont want to be burden, but for some reason i dont want to leave her side with all my heart. And possibility of being separated even scared me.


    "Vivian." after long stare she spoke.


    "Yes Lady Darkmoon ? .." i awaited her words with a bit of fear.


    "Call me by name. Lady Celina should be fine. I dont like being called Lady Darkmoon. It feels so unnatural."


    "Yes Lady Celina." I quickly answered still with anxiety occupying my mind.

    Then Lady Celina extended her both arms and placed them on my head. All my hair on body, both tails and head stod up and i started to feel discomfort that changed into pain in head. Pain grew bit by bit, but i endured and waited patiently. When pain finaly stoped i could hear Lady Celina laughing. There was now prince in room as well and i could see his cousin entering.


    "Lady Celina do i have magic gift ?" I asked with hope. With her laughter it should be good news right ?


    " ... he he ahh. No Vivian. You have zero magic talent ..." she answered after managing to stop laughing for a bit, and all my hopes were shattered.

    "Psionic power ?" asked prince while looking at me, then at lady Celina and back to me.

    I was overwelmed by what i heard. Do i really have such power ?

    "Ah please forgive me lady Celina." i quickly bow while blushing.


    Lord Darkmoon was no longer in a room and i could see everyone else looking at me. Just how long i spaced out ?


    "Dont worry. Everyone here cant wait to see you demonstrate some of that power. So lets give them a show." said lady Celina and placed feather on table.


    "Try to move it with your mind, i will help you." she said and placed hand on my head.


    I could feel all hair standing just like when she checked me before. I concentrated and tried to ''move'' feather, but nothing happened. But i didnt gave up. Lady Celina said i have this power, it must be my efforts that are at fault. I concentrated and tried again and again. After many attempts feather finaly trembled a bit. I tried to remember how i did it, and repeated. Feather trembled again. Soon pain assaulted my head.


    "Try again now" said lady Celina when pain subsided.


    "Yes Lady Celina." i answered and tried to make feather tremble again.


    But this time from touch of my mind feather moved. I grew exited that i finaly managed it, but there was a bit of disapointment too. Somehow i was expecting .. something more.


    "Try to lift it and keep in air." asked lady Celina.

    "Jade, could i hire you for fencing lessons while we stay here ?"

    And with this my training in sword was decided as well. As lady Celina explained later, it was to get used to warriors responces. My style will be different in the end, when i learn to fight with swords using my mind only. I dont need to look out for my hand being cut that way. And with training from Jade, i will get used to multiple swords at once.

    Its been few weeks since i awakened to my power. With help of lady Celina, telekinesis was getting stronger very fast. Now i could even levitate my own body. It was wonderful feeling, but i was scared of ''flying'' too high.


    By now i channeled power trough my body unconsciously. That created incredible defenses for my body. When during training with Jade, i accidently sliced my own arm, there wasnt even a scratch. From then on training became more brutal though as Jade wasnt worried about me geting hurt anymore. As she said, im now a lot like spellblade, with swords alone they cant be seriously wounded. Only magic or very strong attacks get pass their defense. When she said that, i remembered how one of these spellblade was pinned down with spear that my Lady threw during battle at Arcae. As i thought she is incredible, but i will train hard. I have dream to become strong enough to protect her. I dont know when it became like this. But i realized that besides maid, i wanted to be her guardian as well.


    During these days Lady Celina spent most of her time in ''Laboratory''. Experiments on Lars were done only in first few days. He would growl when Lady Celina was cuting flesh and attaching metal parts to his shoulder. But after metal shouler was completed she would call him only once a day. Lady Celina would attach metal arm to shoulder, ask him somequestions, then remove arm, write something on paper and let Lars leave. Rest of time she would work on other ''projects'' as she said.

    I was sparing with Jade at the courtyard and as allways was losing badly. I thought i was very strong now, especialy with the help of Lady Celina, but Jade was just at monster level. My power wasnt only thing that ''teaching hand'' of my lady improved. Every time she used it after spar, all my unnecesary movements would be gone. By now i was confident, that i could easily win against any of Lord Darkmoon guards using one sword. But i never managed to get even a draw against Jade, and thats using four swords at once. I could lift or toss dozens of them with my mind, but fighting with them like using hands, four was my current limit.


    "Concentrate." shouted Jade.


    I was exanging blows with two swords and directing two other from behind, but she easily avoided them with slight lean of body or sidestep. After few more exchanges she sliped past my defenses and with kick sent me rolling twenty feet away. Yes, after she learned about my improved body, there was no mercy in spars.


    "Jade ! I challange you to a duel." I was saved from follow up beating by voice of man.


    "Hmm ? Ah its you Lars ... your arm ... Celina finished it ?" Jade stoped from attacking me and looked to visitor.


    "Yes ! Metal parts made fully of mithril. Powered by five mana crystals and mana regenration enchants. Can squeeze rock into dust with it. And very nice secret ability. Ha ha ha." started bragging Lars and i could see him now with metal arm.


    "But lets not change subject here. I challange you to a duel and after i win, you will belong to me." he quickly faced Jade and declared something unbelievable.


    "Sigh. You still dont give up. Fine! But when you lose, no rematch for a two weeks." said Jade and after looking to me added.


    "Vivian pay attention during match. This might help you with training."


    Then she faced Lars and started fight. From a distance i could see Lady Celina rushing here with anxiety on her face.


    "Jade be careful, his hand has .." she shouted.


    In the mean time during exchange Jade froze for a moment, with her hair standing. And by the time she recovered, there was blade resting on her neck. What was that ?


    " .. ability to shock " finished slowly Lady Celina while looking woriedlyatJade who waslooking ahead of her with blank look.


    "I Won ! .. ha ha ha! I won! I won! i won! I fucking won !" Lars was shouting and jumping around.


    "What ... was that ?!" shouted Jade while looking at her left arm after recovering a bit.


    "That was cheating !" quickly added when looked at Lars acting like child.


    "No my dear Jade. This arm is part of my body now. So all is fair and square. And with this win ... you are my prize." said Lars then grabed her arm and dragged to manor.


    "W..wait i ... i still think its cheating ..." we could hear Jade whisper while she reluctantly followed Lars.


    "Uhh ... i hope Jade wont blame me." whispered Lady Celina.


    I guess thats end of training for today. I thought while looking at Jade dragged away.

 Chapter 19

    /Nina & Celina POV


    Next day most of us were meeting at the garden.


    "What happened to you Lars ?" asked Gabrielle while looking at Lars, who looked no different than undead.


    "I underestimated her ..." he answered while looking to Jade.


    "Mmm ?" Gabrielle questioningly looked at Jade.


    "Just showed him who is the Alpha he he." answered Jade with a smirk.


    "Ah ... another challange huh ?" made conclusion Gabrielle.


    "You could say that ..." answered Jade still with a grin.


    "What really happened ?" asked Gabrielle now confused.


    "Lets just say he dont have stamina to take me on." said Jade still grinning.


    "Wait .. you mean ..." started to realize Implications Gabrielle.


    "Yeah, bastard got lucky win. Should have predicted that arm, Celina worked few weeks on, is more than just new limb from metal. But worst of all, just when i started to enjoy feeling of being woman, bastard ran out of juice." Said Jade while accusingly looking to Lars.


    "Lucky bastard." mutered prince while looking at Lars then glanced to mother.


    "I am sorry Jade. When he rushed out, after i explained how arm works, i realized his intent too late. If you knew beforehand about shock, would have dodged his sword in that arm, instead of parrying with your own ...." started to apologize mother.


    "Meh, dont fret. I needed stress relief anyway. If i really was aginst it, no way he could force me. I just immagined my man to be way stronger than me, not somone who won by luck." said Jade.


    "Hey ! ... those were genuine skills .. mmMmMm." started to complain Lars, but Jade covered his mouth for few seconds.


    "Now listen well Lars. You won, and i might accept you as my man, but ..." started Jade with strict gaze.


    "I. Dont. Like. To. Share. If i ever smell another girl on you ..." continued Jade in strict voice.


    "I will cut it off." she finished while looking below his waist.

    "Run away after all this trouble ?! Ha ! Im no coward! Bring it on !. With you around, no way i will have strength for others anyway." Lars quickly recovered from fear.

And ... yes, we have to do something about your stamina in bed.     "Hey ! My personality is perfect. And wait ! When i said bring it on, i didnt meant right now ! Im still exausted. Cant you see just from looking at me ?" shouted Lars backing away a bit.


    "Vivian todays lesson might start hour later." said Jade after quick glance toSun. Vivian just noded in return with big eyes.


    "Hey didnt you listen ?! I said wait ! ... And what do you mean lessons start hour later ?! Fuck ! Thats three hours ! You want to kill me ?! I am still exausted !..." Lars shouted while backing away now faster and Jade was closing slowly with evil smile.


    "Fuck !" he cursed last time and turned around to run.


    Jade charged after him while runing on all four and caught in few moments. When she did, her knee connected with his stomach and his body went limp. Jade tossed Lars over her shoulder and walked away with tail swinging.


    "One should be careful what he wish for he he" whispered mother.


    "Women are scary." Said Ace with pale face.


    "Mmm i should train in martial arts too. Will be much easier to control my future husband." said Gabrielle with admiration on her face.


    Only prince showed a bit of envy on his face and after quick look to mother sighted. After commotion was over everyone started discussion about preparations for journey to capital, only few weeks left before departure.

    After those few weeks we left Redwater''s Edge with caravan. All merchants and guards were part of our group and were means to establish ourself in capital Hull.


    Mother created many blueprints for new enchantments, so enchanters working for heruncle at Redwater''s Edge could produce tools after studyas well. Once we establish ourself in capital, hired enchanters will do that here too. As for unique tools that are possible only for mother to create, they will be used to gain favors. With only mother alone in whole world supplying them, their worth will be tremendous.


    Journey to Farwatch was mostly uneventful. Only prince with guards were riding direwolfs. Though calling him prince might be out of habbit only,with us being part of Aizerus Alliance that title isnt right anymore.


    Carriages were drawn by argus - big lizard creatures. As for our carriage .. it was drawn by maid Vivian with her mind as part of her training. When we were just day away from Farwatch, she even started to levitate whole thing with us inside. But during spar with Jade she still couldnt win with swords.


    If she used her power to hold Jade in place or deflect swords with mind, Vivian would win in seconds. But purpose of training were reflexes, controll and reaction speed. Mother had plans to create special helm/diadem to improve her power and recovery even more, but needed rare materials she hoped to get at capital.


    And after one week journey our caravan reached Farwatch city. From there using portals few times we arrived to capital Hull, though geting permissions to use portals for all our guards and merchants toke some time.

    Capital Hull was colossal City. It was surrounded by tall walls and similar walls could be seen inside capital. They were probably outer walls in earlier stages of city. Near midle of it lay big lake with tended surroundings and noble squares surround it in perfect circle. It is said that Hull has millions of citizens. Not far from lake is located Eruanna Magic Academy, place where mother is suppoesed to enroll. Only nobles with magic gift study here. As for rare few, born with magic gift among commoners, they are quickly offered to marry into some noble House upon discovery.


    Its not first time i am here. When i was still Celina, i visited my sister Alice at her manor, now she is my aunt. Its so confusing sometimes. And just like her we are part of Aizerus Alliance now.


    From what i remember Aizerus Alliance is country with almost every possible race living there. But demi-humans make up most of population. Its ruled by Council of Three. And heads of three Great Houses are Council members. Newblood House is one of them.


    At portal gates mother had teary reuninon with her sister and my aunt Alice Newblood. With her help we reached our new manor. There we left part of our guards and few servants, we brought with us, and unloaded few carriages. Then headed for next building our House will use for business.


    It was Alice who helped us to obtain those buildings, while we were at Redwater''s Edge.


    While we traveled in carriage in capital, Aliceasked many irrevelant questions while avoiding topic of me in her belly. After all this time at Redwater''s Edge and journey here, pregnancy was obvious on sight.


    After mother recounted whole storyabout death of Bolton, being raped and lightning spirit apperance, Alice started crying. Our carriage stoped as Vivian lost controll over it and while forcing herself not to cry, was apologizing. Yes its first time she heard about it as well.

 Chapter 20

    After we finished with distributing guards for our manor and business establishment, there was still discussion about preliminary plans with merchants. After it was done we had dinner and said goodbyes to Alice and promised to visit soon. Prince with his cousin and guards will stay at our manor for few weeks as it was hard for them to get manor of their own as well.


    Tomorrow mother will enroll into Eruanna Academy. Tomas and Gabrielle are officialy mages already. But mother still need official status of mage. Only then can she become head of Darkmoon House, instead of staying only heir even with parents dead.


    Tomas with Gabrielle will try establish themself here and will take care of "Seal of Arcana" in mothers stead - its name of our business establishment here. And Goldmore House are our business partners.


    "Seal of Arcana" will sell newest enchantment tools and will have branch that deals with artificial limbs. There is still plenty work to be done. We need to hire reliable enchanters to produce new goods, because there is risk of blueprints being leaked. And mother will be busy with academy, so Tomas with Gabrielle will deal with it as our partners.


    "Your sister is amazing. We are still at parley to get our own manor. Even with price five times of usual, its hard to get manor in capital." complained prince Tomas.


    We were sitting in dinning hall with Tomas, Gabrielle and Leo. Vivian was serving sweets and tea. As for Lars and Jade ... horny wolf dragged him for another round of ''training''. Only this time, i am sure it doesnt involve swords practice. She got him completly under her foot. When Lars complained that she wasnt like this before, Jade just answered that before he was just fellow guardian. Now that he is her man, its her duty to train him in every way possible. And she did it with deadly determination. Mother said that just in this short time Lars became way stronger from training. And Jade mentioned that he did so in bed too. During spars Lars manages to win once in a while, but even with shock, its only once or twice out of ten matches.


    "... Ah yes, Alice is amazing. Her husband is still traveling around to secure new resource for Newblood House. So she managed to get me property all on her own." answered mother.


    "Whats on your mind Celina ? You have been glancing to window almost for half hour now." asked Gabrielle.


    "Thats because i am excited. Thunderclouds are coming." answered mother and once again glanced trough window into distance.


    Now that she mentioned i could hear thunder in distance. Its still very far but its indeed geting closer.


    "Thunderclouds ? Ah ! Your lightning spirit. What will it do ?" asked Tomas and Gabrielle almost with same words, then looked at each other.


    "I will get more powerfull of course he he he." giggled mother.


    "What ?! even more ?!" this time was Leo who shouted surprised.


    "Yes. Well more preciesly i will get my mana pool increased." she answered.

    "Lady Celina is it safe ?" asked with a worry Vivian.


    Lately i noticed her becoming more possessive of my mother. Once at Redwater''s Edge, mother offered her position of a noble in our House. As psionic she could get that offer from any House. But Vivian immediatly refused and said she only wants to be at mothers side and serve as maid and guardian. With her confidence and power rising, she started acting less like maid and more like big sister. Sometimes she scold mother for speaking with guards to politely or clothes being too revealing, failing to notice its not maid behaviour.


    Other times guards, if Vivian caught them staring at mother, ''accidently'' fall for no apparent reason. During travel to capital, even Tomas once fell along with direwolf he was riding, but in that case Vivian at least pretended it wasnt her doing.


    "Of course Vivian. You dont need to worry, even lightining in nature is only food to me." calmed her mother.


    After hour mother was standing alone in rain, just outside manor, while facing sky. At first only one out of ten lightning would hit us, but with time number increased. And eventualy every lightining in vicinity was heading only for us. Even i could feel changes in my body. And i am sure unnatural lightning behaviour caught attention of many in capital.

    Next day with only few guards and Vivian, we departed to Eruanna academy. What i first saw were walls enclosing lands of academy. At gates we were greeted by guards and entered without any problems, once mother said her name and showed insignia. Inside we could see wide road leading to huge building of academy. There was sign with greeting words and surroundings were more like a park. With some enchanted glowing decorations and benches.


    As we headed to building, could see students walking here and there and occasionally some patrolls of academy guards, responsible for order.


    After we entered building mother asked for meeting with headmaster. We had to arrange our enrollment with him as we arrived past official enrollment day.


    "Lady Celina Darkmoon, heir of Darkmoon House i presume ?" asked elf with long beard sitting at the desk, while eying lightning spirit dancing over mothers body.


    "Yes, and i asume i am talking to Headmaster Laidhan Erumollien ?" answered mother and asked in return after slight curtesy.


    "Yes, one and only ha ha ha." answered headmaster while stroking his beard.


    "Bianca really got lucky with you ..." added headmaster while studying ligthtning on mother again.


    "Hmm ? Ah yes i owe her big favor." answered mother a bit confused.


    "Ha ha ha. That sly fox, said nothing about legendary lightning mage back then. Too bad we recieved reports about you late. Maybe our Erumollien House could get deal of you owning favor too." continued headmaster starting stroking his beard again.


    "Legendary lightning mage ?" asked mother.


    "Oh you dont know ? There was this legendary lightning mage in history - Terrell Kaladweh. He was famous as one man army in war betwen elfs and demons. He later became emperor and his Kaladweh House are rulers of Illuminati Empire to this today. But even he had to use incantation at first. I am sure Bianca danced for hours when she got you owe her a favor. And Zolmor king Astor must have uprooted half of his hair when you slipped out. You probably heard that he destroyed portals of fourcities he had spies in. I still remember story my brother told how council contacted with Astor to declare three new cities as part of us. Can you immagine, he got nerve to demand of us to hand you over. Of course he didnt mentioned even a word about you being lightning mage. If we had no chaos on our own lands, we could use excuse of helping neighbors to wipe those rasist bastards from the map. Sigh. If you wasnt heir of your Darkmoon House, that favor could have been marriage into Newblood House. Hmm it can still be even with that. I can gurante our House would tried get you into ours for sure."

 Chapter 21

    After all formalities were done, we had to send guards away. Everyone in hereis noble and academy would be very cramped if all started to walk with bunch of guards following them. Only Vivian was allowed to follow mother, most nobles had one attendant as well. After we arrived at theory department, we entered our first class.


    "...but just because they cant cast spell on their own, never underestimate spellblades. Among common soldiers they are called immortals for a reason. Mana flows differently for them and because of that, body is very sturdy and normal weapons or arrows have hard time to do any damage. Its almost like spellof "stone skin", but that spell fades over time and soon you need to recast it. And only mages with good affinity in earth can cast it. Spellblades allways have their protection, even when sleeping. Now if we add regenration tool, that only spellblades and water mages can use, we get terrifying warrior..." when we entered classroom,professor was in middle of lecture.


    Professor was elf and looked quite young. Of course you cant judge elfs age by their appearance, but i somehow had immage of old teacher. After he noticed us, professor stoped with lecture and just looked at us. Hmm not us, but lightning spirit dancing on mothers body.


    "I am sorry for interupting. I am Celina Darkmoon and this is my servant Vivian. I am new student who just arrived. Will be in your care from today." said mother with slight curtesy.


    "So you are famous lightning mage ? Oh i am sorry Ms. Darkmoon and wellcome to Eruanna academy. I am professor Erlar Erumollien and we will meet mostly on subjects "basic introduction to magic" and "magic application in combat". You can get aquinted with others after lesson, now please take free seat so i can continue. If i forget where i left, will have to start all over." said professor and we started to walk towards empty seats.


    As we walked to our seats, others were whispering among themself while looking at mother. We could see some humans and elfs or even few demons, but most students were demi-humans.


    Weircats, lycans, vixus and gorgon. Those four races were considered as demi-humans. Weircats had ears and tail of cat and lycans those of wolf. Vixus like Vivian were fox kin, and once they had three tails, were considered adults. Vivians third tail just started to grow and still had few months til she is considered adult.


    Now gorgon had reptile features as you could see scales instead of skin here or there. They stil looked mostly human, but instead of hairs had small snakes. It is said that those snakes produce paralyzing poison and gorgon warriors coat their blades and arrows in it. Unlike other demi-humans their tails were big and reminded those of lizard.


    Demons have many species, but in class i could see only two. One was male minotaur and other was female naga. It was first time i saw demons in real life. I recognized them only from descriptions in books.


    Minotaur had very muscular body. This one had two pairs of horns on head and i heard that very old ones can have even three pairs. Face was just like humans, and had dark hairs reminding lions. As he was siting, i couldnt see, but minotaurlegs had hoves instead of feet.


    Naga girl had upper body of human with four hands, while lower part was giant tail of snake. Tail was over twenty feet long and because of that, she alone was occupying space of three seats.


    "Now please calm down, you can get acquainted with Ms. Darkmoon after lecture. Lets continue where we left. Now who can tell me why spellblades have lesser position when compared with pure mages ?" professor silenced whispers and asked question.The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.


    "Because we have higher range and power with our spells." said human girl after geting permision to speak.


    "Thats partialy true, but hardly a reason. They dont waste time with incatations and can attack more often. Their whips deal decent damage to regular soldiers and only mithril weapons orarmor can withstand them. Some elite units might have them, but there is no way army can have all equiped with those." said professor and looked once again to class.


    "They cant use magic without tools and even then there is limited amount of tools they can activate." This time it was weircat boy.


    "That might be true, but hardly a reason as well. With the ones they can activate they are deadly already." dismised professor and looked for more sugestions.


    "Even weakest spells ignore spellblades defences, and defences are what makes them so dangerous against others." answered elf boy after geting permission.


    "Yes. Mages with their barriers can protect themself from weaker spells, but defence of spellblades collapses instantly once spell reaches their body. Some spells can cause them even more damage than regular soldier would recieve. Because their mana defence collapses and damages their own body. Of course expierenced spellblade will try intercept spells with their whip, but thats only possible against weaker ones. Stronger spell will kill them anyway. Thats why they are considered lesser than pure mages. But dont let it fool you. This comparison came from my breathen elfs in Illuminati Empire. Recognized elf mages are old and powerfull and can cast spells without incantations. Should regular mage fight against spellblade without guards, most mages would loose. Unless mage have attack spell tool. That brings our next topic - incantations." professor made pause then walked near board and wrote incantation for firebolt.

    "Who knows why we need incantation to cast a spell ?" asked professor Erlar after facing class.


    "Incantation is vocal blueprint for spell construction. Mage follows it to create spell with desired effects." answered same elf boy as before.


    "Very good. Just like Sildur said its vocal blueprint. When we construct spell, there are countless micro action that we perform. And with incantation we make sure to do it right. Its like when craftsman creates complicated structure, he glances at drawings to make no mistakes. If we create spell without incantation, there is placefor errors to be made. If we are lucky, final result will be just twisted spell that uses too much mana or spell power is barely one tenth of what it should have been. If we are not so lucky, mistakes can cost us our life. Thats why never use spell without incantation." said professor.


    "But what about those powerful elf mages you mentioned ? You said they can cast spells without incantation." asked gorgon girl without permission but professor wasnt angry.


    "Yes we can. But you should also remember that i said old and powerful. Old is very important here. In long life we elfs constructed those spells countless times. At this point every litle detail of spell construction is part of us, like muscle memory. Most old mages try to do them without incantation from time to time to see if they reached that level. But you should know that they are expierenced mages and have little chance to harm themself in case of fail..." while professor was explaining we heard loud sound of gong.


    "Ok our time is up for today, we will continue next time." said professor and after cleaning board picked some books and left.


    "Hi i am Jun and this is Minori. Why is your servant white? Oh and what is this lightning ?" after class ended mother was aproached by two vixus girls and one of them barraged with questions while reaching hand to touch lightning spirit.


    "Stop it Minori !" shouted another fox girl and held her arm.


    "I am sorry for my sister. She is allways like this. I am actualy Jun and my sister is Minori. We are from Aritail House. She mix our names as prank. People cant discern us and she makes it even harder by wearing evryting identical. Tried using diferent accessories to make it easier for others, but now she got them as well." she started to apologyze.


    Jun with her sister Minori were twins and like she mentioned, they looked identical. Same clothes, hairstyle, accessories and same face. Behind them i could see other people aproaching us as well.


    "No problem. I am Celina Darkmoon and my servant is Vivian. You can just call me Celina."

 Chapter 22

    /Vivian POV


    After lessons, Lady Celina was quickly surrounded by others. Besides Jun and Minori from same race as me, almost everyonecame to introduce themself as well, but I forgot most of their names by the time last one finished. I managed to remember Sildur Erumollien, as he was an elf that answered few times during lesson, andwas a forthson of Laidhan Erumollien - headmaster of academy.If I have to name someone else, it would be demons, as theycaught my attention earlier with their exclusive looks. The Minotaur was Lodmos and fourhanded Naga was Vex. But soon break was over and everyone headed for their next lesson.


    Lady Celinadecided to skip rest, as she still had to tune some details regarding business with Tomas and Gabrielle. Our plan was to live within premises provided by an academy. Traveling back and forth would beinconvenient as we would have to know ourtime of departure to inform guards beforehand when to come back to escort us. I am sure that with Lady Celina and me alone there is no danger for us, but we have to keep apperances. Lady Celina planed to improvesecurity of a manor and "Seal of Arcana" as well.


    After Lady Celinainformed academy about her planed abscence for few days, we left for our manor. Once we arrived she started to specify details about business.It was boring as expected, but I just served them with snacks and soon human girl maid replaced me in my duties as it was time for training with Jade. Those two days are probably last time I will see her in a while.

    "Uhh." grunted Jade after she missed to deflect one of my swords in time.


    "My win" I shouted enthusiasticly.


    Though fighting against six flying swords my look unfair, but Jade shouldnt be compared to normal people. It''s like she has eyes on her back.


    It was my first win against her. Could grab her in place with telekinesis, make her slip, prevent air from entering lungs, there were many ways I could win just in a second. But it was my first time I won by fencing using swords. Of course I had to useonly part of my strength when wielding them. Battle would lose its purpose of training my reflexes, if she had to defend against swords held with enough power that can easily crush even a large boulder. Though I know that all thisis work of Lady Celina. Every time she helds her hand over my head I improve in seconds what normaly should take years.


    "Seems you improved a bit, should remove two swords and try repeat that with four. We will concentrate on training your reflexes more. You can train with wielding more swords when alone, it servesno more purpose against me." said Jade and got ready into battle stance.


    "Yes Teacher." I answered and got ready for battle again, this time with four swords.


    After nine loses and one draw, our training session ended and I returned to the side of my Lady. After she finished talking with Tomas, placed her hand on my head and like allways I felt my battle expierence deepening. It wont be long before I can hold on my own against Jade even with two swords.

    Next day after some more boring talks about business there was finaly something more interesting. Lady Celina had task that only I could do. With her instruction I learned to create mana crytals from earth and some materials Lady ordered to be delievered at our manor. With a bit of practice I managed it and started to make them. I created pillars from them twice the size of average man. Once Ifinished with one Lady Celinawould say where to place it. I continued with creating next while Lady Celina started to enchant them.     Lady Celina said it will take some time till crystals absorbed enough mana from surroundings. And once they do, this manor will be more secure than a palace. She then started to create insignias for guards and servants to be recognized by obelisks. I recieved one as well, but my looked a bit different from most.


    "What doest it do Lady Celina ?" I asked.


    "Your insignia is of highest rank, this means you have no restrictions when order obelisks torise force fields, create special field of distort - those without insignia cant use magic. Also use detect on surroundings or even strike with lightning bolt at intended target." explained Lady Celina.


    "But I can''t use magic." I reminded to Lady Celina.


    "I know. But you and dont need to. Obelisk will have enough mana on its own and have enchants to regenrate when not full. Even you can use detect if you touch them." said Lady Celina and continued with creating more.


    Just like this we spent whole day working together. It felt nice and from creating crystals I even got few new ideas how could I fight against enemies of my Lady. After looking at Obelisks I decided that I like how those crystals look. After glancing at one carriage in the distance I suddenly got new idea. With permision from my Lady I started my own project "Rose".


    Next day was repeat of previous, only this time we created Obelisks for a business building "Seal of Arcana". During breaks I continued with my project "Rose" as I wanted to finish it before we leave for academy.

    And on the next day it was time to return to academy.


    Lady Celina was siting on levitating "Rose". "Rose"was crystalbed platform. Red mana crystal formed a pyramid, it floated upside down with my help and lookedlike wasmade from ruby. Its upper side was flat and was covered in soft red beddings with pillows here and there. I created It as means of traveling for Lady Celina.


    Its bad for Ladyimage, dignity and health when walking so much while being pregnant. I was prepared for a long fight to persuade Lady into becoming my doll ..err I mean into taking care of her health. But surprisingly when Ishowed "Rose", Lady Celina immediatly agreed and was very pleased with my idea.


    She even happily said that with this she might be called "Empress of Lightning". And I agree, as I think Lady Celinais fit to be Empress.

    Once we entered academy everyones eyes were on my Lady Celina. As I saw awe in their eyes, I even felt proud.


    "Is she "Mother of Lightning ?" I heard somone whisper.


    "Of course. I think there aren''t that many pregnant mageswith lightning." whispered another.


    And judging from fact that Lady twitched at those words, she heard them as well.


    "Vivian can you bring me to them." asked me Lady Celina and I obeyed.


    "Wh .. why did you call me "mother of lightning" ?" asked Lady Celina.


    "Oh I am sorry. Everyone was talking about new mage "Mother of lightning", so I assumed it was you." said lycan boy.


    "Ev .. everyone ?" asked Lady with trembling voice.


    "Yes." answered boy.


    "Lady Celina !" I shouted when she felt and was lying without moving on "Rose".


    I quickly lowered "Rose"and leaned closer to check if she is alright.


    "Everything is over. *sob* My "Empress of Lightning" is ruined. *sob* " I noticed that my Lady Celina was cryig.


    I never saw her crying. Even when she recounted about her terrible expierence. Dont worry Lady Celina.I will help you become Empress. Just give me one year, no half year and I will be even more powerfull than those psionics from legends.There will come a day when they all know youas "Empress of Lightning." I thought with determination.

    After one month we were preparing to leave academy once again. With mana storm aproaching there will be no lessons held for almost a month and everyone was leaving for vacation. We didn''t planed to return with others, as our intent was to return only once baby of Lady Celina was born.

 Chapter 23

    It was finaly my birthday. I should have been born a week ago, but mother was delaying it. She was waiting for thunderclouds to create ''right'' atmosphere and image. Andnow, with the sounds of thunder all around us, I am about to be born.


    Before my birthday,nothing of interest happened. Well there was that ''mana storm'' and few more assassination attempts, but other that that nothing.


    Mana storm is a phenomen lasting for almost one month, and hapens every year.It can''t be seen with a naked eye, but all mages feel it''s influence very strongly. Basicly it makes all magic harder to perform. I heard that in earlier years when empires were still in the making, it was the time when military actions were often taken. It was a perfect time for countries with less mages to turn tables in their favor.


    As for assassinations .. I only know that we were attacked. By the time we left too see what''s with the commotion outside, even bodies were removed by our the servants. Assassins probably planed to use mana storm for beter chances, sadly for them, our obelisks worked perfectly even during them, and we had no one left to interrogate.


    My guess is that it was work of the Zolmor kingdom, they lost chance to get my mother as slave so now they wanted to remove her. Though there is also posibility that other nobles don''t look kindly at our growing influence.

    During birth my connection to the eyesight and hearing I had withmother was canceled. I don''t know how long all this process of birth toke, but it surely felt like an eternity, well maybe it was just day or hours, but with nothing to do I couldn''t tell.


    "Don''t forget to cry little Nina." I heard voice of mother in my head, when I was finaly born.


    It was peformance for midwifes and other servants that were helping with the birth, but after my attempt to cry mother quickly stoped me. My cry felt very unnatural. Well I can''t be blamed, have you ever tried to imitate cry of a baby with a mindset of an adult ?


    After birth I was a bit gloomy as my eyesight and hearing was terrible. After looking and hearing trough eyes of my mother for almost an half year, it was a strong contrast. It was strange feeling being newborn.My movements with body were limited.


    "Time to eat little Nina. Say ahh ..." I heard voice of my mother.


    And then we have other implications of being baby. No one should be doing thisconsciously. I swear I could hear mother giggling every time when she stuck her nipple into my mouth. I felt so embarrassed.


    Even with my evolved body, It toke me two whole days til I could finaly see and hear like a normal person. I don''t know how long it should take for newborns, but it was still too long for my liking. I could finaly examine myself beter. When motherwalked past mirror, with me in her hands. I noticed that I have blue eyes just like her. This is good, I would hate to have eyes inherited from that ''scum father''. Next thing I noticed was that I had lightning spirit as well. It looked so cool. Though body of newborn might have lessened that effect. As newborn I looked quite .. ugly ?     I tried to control lightning spirit, but it didn''t responded to my comands.


    "Now now little Nina, be patient girl. If all our children were to control lightning from birth, it would be a disaster forpeople around us. Not all babies are supposed to understand what they are doing. You will be able to control it with time." I heard voice of my mother.


    I tried to imagine what would hapen if baby born by one of us in the future started to unleash lightning around it unconsciously. That would be scary.


    After a bit more, mother planedto return to an academy. She will take me with her, but I will be often left at ourpremises in academywhen she attends to her lessons. Newborns could make lessons quite difficult it seems. But Vivian wassupposed to take care of me when motherdoes that.


    Speaking of our white fox, during all this time she became even more powerful, partly because mother finaly finished special diadem for her, that enchanced her powers even further. But what I meant was that now she was equal to Jade when fencing, even when using only two swords . If we talk about raw power then I think only my mother could be her opponent, mostly because Viviancan''t stop lightning with her powers like she does with spells of others.

    But before we returned to an academy we made a visit to a SOB again.


    ''Services Of Binded'' or just like most call it - SOB. It''s an official organization dealing with slaves. Slavery In Aizerus Alliance is legal as it''s in most of empires or kingdoms. But only slaves confirmed by SOB, in case enslavement was noticed wihout legal claim, offender wouldbe punished by the Law, depending on involment death penalty or drop in rank of House was not an exception.This way no nobles dared to enslave their enemies or rivals out of prying eyes.


    All slaves were expensive because of many costly procedures needed for checking ifenslavement was legal. It was done with the help of comunication network, test of slave and one who delivered trough ''Hall of Truth'' other enchancements, and lastly binding ritual itself. So even if some commoner was enslaved, after all procedures were done, they would cost a fortune. Only nobles could afford slaves and number of slaves they had were used to show off.


    "Good morning Lady Darkmoon, sorry to say but we have no more news aboutslaves with origins ofDarkmoon House from our network in Zolmor." greeted us a lycan.


    SOB functions in many kingdoms and Empires, and we were buying trough them our relatives that survived and were enslaved in Zolmor kingdom. Sadly there were very little of them.


    "Too bad .. Show me what you have from slaves with battle potential." said my mother while holdingme in her embrace.


    Lycan lead us into a huge hall where soon slaves of different races were brought. We were also buying slaves as servants or potential warriors. At first we only hired them, but very many of them were spies from other Houses or assassins in disguise and mother changed her target to slaves.


    My gaze was attracted to a naga, I found them exotic on our first day in the academy. She waswoman just like that demon from the academy.


    "From females I would like that naga and a weircat, as for men .. that gorgon seems ok, hmm ?" mother stoped and looked at Vivian.


    "Found someone fancy Vivian ?" she asked with a grin.


    "Wh .. what are you sa .. saying Lady Celina ?" Vivian started to blush.


    "Your tails give you away my dear Vivian. But if there is really someone you fancy I might buy for you. Money isn''t a problem for us now." said mother still with a grin.


    When mother mentioned I looked at her tails and from their movement I could see that she was indeedexcited.


    "N..no its nothing like that La..Lady Celina." flustered Vivian.


    "Are you sure ? If we leave now, somone might buy him after us and he will have to do all kind of thingsas slave ..Even in bed." teased further mother.


    Vivian went silent for a moment then looked to one man.


    "Pl..please buy me that lycan, La..Lady Celina." she asked with a red face.

 Chapter 24

    After we returned to our manor, mother lined up our newest servants in the garden.


    "Let me introduce myself once again. I am Celina Darkmoon, heirof Darkmoon House and .. your Master. You may adress me as Lady Celina. What I want from all of you is toperform your duties to the best of your abilities. Also all of you were selected for your capabilities in combat. Don''t neglect that part and keep training, as from now, all of you are secret guards as well..."started adress them my mother, but soon was interupted by naga.


    "Don''t expect me to follow orders of someone weaker than me. Those enchanted robes with lightning might impress others, but being pretty is nothing in the face of power." she shouted while glowing tattos on her skin showed that she was ignoring the pain from slavery bindings.


    "How dare you speak like this to Lady Celina !" shouted Vivian angrily.


    Naga girl crumbled to the ground from invisible pressure. Nagatried to prevent her face from touching the ground with the help of four arms. Cracks formed under her body and her arms started to sink into the ground like it was water, bringing her face closer to the dirt.


    "Wait Vivian" mother tried to calm down our angry fox.


    "But Lady Celina, for showing direspect to you she has to be disciplined." Vivian objected, but the pressure on naga noticibly lessened.


    "Don''t be like that Vivian, she isyour fellow coworker." smiled mother.


    "Not yet. First she has to prove herself worthy of such honor." pouted Vivian, but pressure lessened even further.


    "What''s your name ?" asked mother while facing naga.


    "Sinzi !" answered naga while glancing to Vivian with a fear.


    "So Sinzi, to have your loyalty all I need is to beat you, is that right ?" asked mother still smiling.


    "Yes ! I have no problems in following your commands, if you are stronger than me." answered Sinzi.


    "But Lady Celina, you should''t .." started to object Vivian.


    "Vivian, I was pregnant very long, then I had to sit in this manor with nothing interesting to do, and even when assassins came to entertain me .. they were gone before I even reached. Soon I will have to return to an Academy.Can''t you see this is my oportunity to finaly get some action ?" mother started to complain.


    "Ahhh .. I am sorry Lady Celina, I havn''t thought like this." appoligized Vivian and faced naga girl.


    "Rejoice, as you are granted great honor in facing Lady Celina personaly." after saying this, she steped to the side and all pressure from naga was gone.


    While Sinzi was standing up, if you can say that about people from race with snake tail instead of legs, mother gave me to Vivian.

    "Notbad" said mother from behind her.


    This time Sinzi sweept with her tail, but mother once again was not there anymore.


    "You leave too many openings when you attack." said mother while smiling from the side.


    Naga attacked her with her arms again while keeping guard of her surroundings.


    "Now better." said mother once again from the back of Sinzi.


    "Stop runing and fight !" shouted naga while sweeping with her tail again and preparing to strike with her arms to possible places from where mother can appear.


    "Very well." said mother and then vanished.


    Naga started screaming while floatingin the air. A slight blur and wind surrounded her body whilemarks from fists and palms started appearing all over her body. Then blur suddenly stopedand with Sinzi heavily falling to the ground, mother appeared once again.


    "Anyone else wants a spar ? If you manage to beat me here and now, I can even promise to release you." saidmother while looking at the slaves.


    Everyone looked at now unconscious Sinzi lying on the ground. She was breathing heavily and had marksfrom hundreedshits byfists or palms.


    "No one ? What a pity." said mother then came closer to the unconscious naga.


    "Elements of Water answer my call. Aid me in mending wounds of the body. Heal !" and with heraid wounds of Sinzi started to heal.


    After she touched her head, naga woke up.


    "Now thatI don''t need to worry about repeating myself, let''s continue." said mother while picking me again from the hands of Vivian.


    "My House actualy doesn''t need slaves, what we need are loyal servants or even new members of the House. I will watch how you do your duties and if I like what I see, I will change slavery into a work contract for specific amount of time, I might even offer a chance to join my House as a member. Of course in that case you will need to pledge your loyalty and get trough my personal check of your true intentions. I don''t care about your race or gender, as long as you have abilites, loyalty and dedication, all of you have this chance. In the future my House will go to war with the Zolmor Kingdom, so anyonewho shows a promising future of a general, captain of guards or other high position, can expect to bear name of Darkmoon, instead of being a simple servant." and after little speech mother brought me to our chamber. Sadly it was time forlunch.

    After mother finished her next project it was time to return to an academy. As for project mother was working at, it was ''power armor'',as mother named it. Basicly it was some sort of mix between a golem and anoversizedarmor made from metal. It was a fourteen feets tall metal giant, thatwas controlled by toughts of a person inside it, even if that personhad no gift for magic.


    Personal barrierpowered by giant mana crystal, (work ofVivian) could protect from any spells. It was equiped with detect ability and large water whips for each hand. When Jade was trying it out, it looked terrifying. She needed a bit of time to adjust with new problems that comes with such mass, but after that ''power armor'' became just a bit slower version of Jade.


    I haven''t heardof any human sized golem capable of dodging a fireball, but Jade did thateven with this collosal body. And not just one but five fireballs from different angles were easily dodged by her. There was no need for that, as barrier could handle them all, but this was to checkit''s mobility. In a war it would be a terryfing weapon if controlled by experts. Mother was hoping to lurethe House of Newblood into asking for them as return of favor she owed them.


    So far this was a first prototype and mother made so it can be controlled only by people with highest level insignia. Our people were already making parts for others, but they will still need a finishing touch of mothers enchantment and Vivian''s mana crystal to work. But at least mother doesn''t have to work from start to finish on them alone.


    They werejust a small part of what mother planed for Zolmor to face. Her next project was something she caled an ''airship''.

 Chapter 25

    Andwe were back at the academy. It was so boring. It was way more fun when I watched everything trough the eyes of mother.


    Now during the lessons of motherI was left with Vivian. And that was actually most of the time. Yes, she would come to feed me, play with me like I am a real baby, and then just run away once again. Being a baby is no fun.


    At first it was still ok when Vivian was spoiling meexploring grounds of the academy or making a show with her powers. But then lessons started for her too. Mother said that she needs some basic knowledge. And that brings us at the present.


    Vivian was reading a book with me in her embrace. If I was a normal baby, with crying and all she would have hard time with her studies. With nothing beter to do I started reading as well.It was basic knowledge of our continent with some recent changes mentioned. I already knew most about it, but like I said, I had nothing beter to do.


    Name of our continent was aStormcall, and as today we had seven nations remaining. Aizerus Alliance, which we were part of now, had borders withIlluminati Empire,Emerus Union, Zolmor Kingdom andBeaul''s Empire.Before the fall ofRaldus Kingdom, Aizerus Alliance hadno borders withZolmor Kingdom. Besides those there was alsoNemiro Kingdom andErad''haus Empire with which we had no borders.


    Aizerus Alliance and Erad''haus Empire are two largest nations in the continent. OurAizerus Alliance consist of almost all races, demi-humans being dominering in numbers among them. It is ruled by the Coucil of Three, and Council seats belongs to the Houses of Newblood,Morluso andErumollien.


    Erad''haus Empire is anEmpire of Amdu race and is ruled by an Emperor Albert Highstone. The Empire is on East side of continent, oposite from Aizerus Alliance. People of amdu race are small, have oversized head and thick limbs. When dealing with them one should never call them a dwarf. They are highly technological race and any forms of slavery is illegal in their Empire, it is highly hated to the point of zeal, and if discovered is punishableby death.Anyone foolish enough to enter with slaves have to immediatly free them, and should they refuse - death. If someone manges to escape, elite squads aresent to hunt them down and free the slaves, as long as they are within Empire, though in reality their hunt rarely stops even at the borders. All of their elite squads use something similar to the power armor mother created.


    The backstory of their hate for slavery was quite interesting. As of today you won''t see a single amdu as a slave even in other nations.They have engraved enchants on their body from the birth, that will kill them should any attempt to enslavebe made.It was result of new Law that was released from the times of ''the bloody week''.


    In the past south east from their territory, there was a Reso Kingdom. Their slavers captured and enslaved Groz, a former Emperor, that passed the throne to his son. He was traveling the world according to the tradition of amdu, to attain ''the final inspiration''. Slavers didn''t knew of his origin, or maybe didn''t care. They wanted him to produce inventions amdu were so famus for.


    It was greatest insult for amdu royalty and no attempts of Reso Kingdom royalty helped to remedy the situation. Reso Kingdom was attacked without any declaration of war immediatly. Amdu brought to the war all their armies, used all secretly developed inventions and prototypes. It was a first time the world saw their ''Air Fortres'', a prototype and the only one at that time flying city made of metal. With unimaginable fury, war was over with total anihilation of Reso Kingdom in just two weeks. It was almost the same speed needed to travel from one side of Reso Kingdom to another. None were spared, and to this day Erad''haus Empire is considered the strongest force in the continent. After destruction of Reso Kingdom, Erad''haus Empire released a Law withdeath senttense for slavery and every amdu, old ad young, had enchants engraved preventing enslavement.


    Then we have Beaul''s Empire. An Empire ruled by arachne race and their ruler was allways an Empress. Other races are nothing more than servants or slaves in their territory, andusedfor their crafstamnship and construction as arachne themself have limited talent in that area.Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.


    Only forty percent of their domain is the land surface, where rest consist of underground tunels and halls. Over time they were decorated with the help of slaves, but only slaves are working there, while servants are allowed only on the surface, thus leaving undergrounds as mystery to most.


    Beaul''s Empire is ruled by strong matriarchy system. Where only top few males from the strongest Nest were allowed to mate with royalty. If females born from intercourse were considered as strong by royalty standarts, they would send some lesser males born to those Nest as reward- which were still considered as strongest bloodline one could get among other arachne.


    Iluminati Empire is an elven Empire to the South-East from Aizerus Alliance. Currently was ruled by the Empress Aire''ell Kaladweh. Iluminati Empire was almost the same size as Zolmor Kingdom. Mages fromIluminati Empire are considered as strongest in the world. Mostly because of their long lifespawn. Their mages participate in many battles with demons and don''t sit somewhere in the tower, closed from the rest of the world like some cowards. If they are still alive after a thousand year, it means they have huge expierence under their belt and there is no way to compare their battle prowess with the mages from other races. And Terrell Kaladweh, the founder of Empire androyalty House Kaladweh, was the famous lightning mage that made mother so noticable.


    Even though the Zolmor Kingdom is only half the size asAizerus Alliance orErad''haus Empire, it''s still third by the size and is one of larger nations of the continent. It''s dominated by humans and other races have hard time achieving anything there. Their King Astor Rendstor is my enemy. I can''t wait for the day when we will make our move on them.


    Nemiro Kingdom is aland where you could see every possible demon in existence. Only one fourth of population are demi-humans, and only demons are known to have ranks of nobility. It is ruled by a king Gray Soulfeast, an archdemon. To this day they have some skirmishes withIluminati Empire, but hostility with elves never goes beyond that. Mostly because of a fear for their neighbor from another side -Erad''haus Empire.


    Emerus Union were supposed to be allies of our Raldus Kingdom during the war with Zolmor Kingdom. But from reports we learned that they made a secret deal withZolmor Kingdom. Their ''help'' during the war was only an act, and in reality they would constantly ''loose'' some encounters makingRaldus send forces where they thought everything was covered. By the end of war they ''rescued'' some of the lands byabsorbing into their territory.


    It''s strange how they managed to make deal with Zolmor Kingdom, asEmerus Union was populated and even ruled by different races trough the council of four.Or they just made their bigest mistake and soon will be next on the list. Well, they are on our list for sure.


    After some time our reading session was stoped by visitors. It was a group of some nobles with their servants.


    "Lady Celina Darkmoon has requested us to escort you with her daughter to her. Follow us." said one of servants.


    "Ohhh ? I never saw any of you among her friends. How come Lady Celina asked complete strangers toescort her daughter ?" asked Vivian.


    "They were busy so she asked us, now stop with useless questions and follow us. You are just a servant." this time one of nobles joined in.


    Vivian glanced at them and then lifted her left arm and activated the bracelet enchantment.


    "Sorry if I interrupted Lady Celina, there are some nobles who claim you send them to escort us toyou." she spoke into bracelet.


    "He he he. Those idiots. Can''t do anything to me so now go for my daughter ? They are an enemy Vivian. Think you could handle them or should I return ?"We heard voice of mother from the bracelet.


    "No need Lady Celina, they are just small flies." answered Vivian and I saw nobles with servants started drawing their weapons and enchantment tools.


    "Very well, I leave the method of disposing to your discretion." said mother and with that the conversation has ended.


    "Water blade !" shouted one of the nobles while pointing an amulet at Vivian.


    "Ohh ? Is this similar to battle gloves of Tomas ?" whispered Vivian while looking with curiosity at theamulet.


    Water blade was stoped by an invisible force five feet ahead of us and then disipated. All of nobles and their servants started to hower in the air with grimace of pain on their face.


    "Be a good girl Ninaand don''t look now." gently said to me Vivian and directed my head into her chest and away from them.


    I couldn''t see what happened next, but loud screamletsome room for imagination. Though it lasted only for a second. As I faced in that direction a bitlater, all I could see was a red ground. There was no sign of nobles ortheir servants.I looked as familiar amulet flew into the hand of Vivian.

 Chapter 26

    As the attempt to kidnap me was made in the territory of Accademy. It''s founder, Erumollien Household - one of the three ruling Houses, started investigation immediatly. Households of involved nobles tried to deny the claim and blame mother with the murder instead, butinvestigation revealed bribes of Academy patrols and otherpreparations to quickly transport me after the capture. This was a great insult for Erumollien House, as with this others might start to look down on their ability to protect their young.


    To make an example, Erumollienused their status in the Council to punish them.I don''t even remember name of that Household .. Raktomus .. hmm, maybe Rakotus .. I am sure it started with R .. anyway, they lost titles and lands, while people involved directly were immprisoned or executed. Usualy punishmentfor similar maters would be lighter, but they had a honor toprovoke two out of three Houses holding the postion in the Council.


    Half of the lands striped from them were transfered to us as a compensation and our Darkmoon House was once again in the center of everyones attention. And with a reason.


    If you wanted the best enchantments money can get, you would come to the "Seal of Arcana". As of today you could find them in three cities.Power armors was thebigest sensation, and attracted everyones attention. Before others could act Newblood House finaly gave in and asked for a contract, so the power armors are sold only exclusively for their House. And with this mother was finaly free fromowning a favor.

    It''s been three months since thatincident.


    "Kyaa, she is so cute." squeled Jun. Or was it Minori? I still coudn''t tell them apart.


    Fox twins Jun and Minori were harassing me for an half hour now. Too bad as baby I can''t just run away and hide.


    We were in our room at the Academy and mother was having a ''girls night'' with her friends. Not counting fox twins and Vivian there was also Vex, Tia and Elsa. Vex was a nagademon we saw on the first day at the Academy, while Elsa was a gorgon. Tia was a weircat of lion bloodline, she was actually a third daughter of Bianca Newblood.


    All of them were friends mother made during the time she studied atthe Academy. Vivian was preparing a tea at the moment.


    "It doesn''t hurt to touch her ?" askedElsa while looking at me.


    "Hey, I am not Minori. I am very carefull. There is no way I would hurt such a cutie." complained Jun.


    "Hey !" pouted Minori.


    "Err .. no, I mean .. lightning, it doesn''t hurt when you touch her ?" asked gorgon again.


    "Ahh .. no .. she is a good girl. Right Nina ? You would never hurt your big sister ?" said Jun and started to tickle me.


    "That''s enough Jun,it''s my turn to hold her." said Vex.

    "Mostly. Besides, I am sure she will become strong in the future as well. I could then brag that I tickled her personaly and even got away with that." said Vex with a smile while gently taking me from Jun with her four arms.

    "Oh speaking of husbands .. made any progress with Mauro Vivian?" asked mother with a grin.


    "I .. I don''t know what you are t .. talking about Lady." blushed fox.


    "Oh .. come on, don''t be shy. We are all girls there. There is no way nothing happened when you both slept in the same room. Tel us everything how it go." further teased mother while others started to gather around. Seems the topic picked their interest.


    "Was he gentle, rough ?" asked Minori.


    Oh I am sure someone was rough. But I doubtanyone will suspect Vivian. How do I know ? Thats because I was in her embrace when she visited Jade for ''lessons''. Those lessons had nothing to do with a fencing. By the way, Mauro is a name of lycan mother bought for Vivian. I heard he isn''t a slave anymore. I know I am baby, and not supposed to understand what they were talking about, but I can''t just shut my ears like eyes. I heard every little detail Jade had to ''teach'' her .. is it even physically possible? No wonder Lars looked like a corpse back then. Uhh, I am still a baby, but my mind is already tainted.

    Today was a very exciting day.This is because we were flying. We were on board of a large military airship named ''The Storm''. It''s shape reminded a bit of silver octopus, only with three ''limbs'' instead. The ship would land on two of them, while the third a bit larger was a main body. It was colosal, at least two thousand feet long, and if we count spread ''limbs'', almost thousand feet wide.


    I was in embrace of mother and she along with her guardians was standing in the middle of ''captains deck''.


    The deck was a large sphere with the view all around us. Although it looked like the sphere made of glass, it was just an illusion. Everything we see was just a ''projection'' of enchantments, while sphere itself is made from mithril. Those enchantments made it look so real, as if floor was made from glass. Itwas a scary sight to see the lands and villages from the altitude of birdflight while looking at your feets.


    "Increddible." said Bianca from the side.


    She was one of the Council members and head of Newblood House. Actualy all Council members were onboard, along with their elite guards. This ship was a joint project between Darkmoon House and the Council. Without their help it would take forever to build on our own, and some conflicts could arise if power of this magnitude was only in the hands of Darkmoon House.


    "Target is withing firing range." said one of the crew members.


    Just as he said that, one part of the floor changed and abandoned castle entered our sight. Just a moment ago it wasthe size of dust. Rest of the floor showed the sight far from above as before.


    As mother looked at the members of Council, they just noded their heads.


    "Fire main cannon !" shouted Tomas.


    After command was given we could heara loud noice increasing with each passing moment and vibration trough the floor. Finaly with a shock of entire ship we could see a large glowing ball leaving the ship.


    As glowing ball reached walls of the castle, we were blinded by a bright blast. After the sight returned, half of the walls surrounding the castle were gone with some lavahere and there.


    "Deploy troops." said mother.


    "First team, engage." shouted Tomas.


    Sight ahead of us changed and part of the sphere showed our ship from the side. Metal doors opened and five power armors walked out and then jumped from the edge of the ship.


    "Second team, engage." shouted Tomas again.


    Now we could see as same thing happened from the other side of the ship.


    View changed again and now we could see the castle more closely. After some time power armors reached the ground. Just before landing stream of fire left from their backs slowing them down.


    In the mean time, orcs that survived the blast of the glowing ball, launched an attack from abandoned castle. All power armors summoned their thirty feet long water whips in each hand and started the battle.


    Ten power armors with the size of fourteen feets, against four hundred orcs, but it was completely one sided slaughter. They simply had no chance to approach them. And even if they could, there was nothing they could do to harm power armors.


    "Descend." commandedTomas after getting a nod from mother.


    "You really can''t sell those ''power armors'' ?" askedThalion. He was an elf member of the Council and the head ofErumollien House.


    "I am sorry, but I have a contract with the Newblood House that prevents me from selling them to anyone else. If they are willing to sell I could only suggest to buy through them." said mother.


    "Well played Bianca." saidThalion while looking at the weircat.


    Bianca just grinned in response.


    "How much ofstarsouls could we get?" asked mother while looking at Binaca.


    "They are rare, we could probably get enough for two more rek .. hmm .. what was the name ?" Bianca looked at mother.


    "Reactors. Hmm, that''s not enough to finish one ship for each of us as per an agreement. Is there any way to get more so we can move on with the war ?" asked mother.


    "Beaul''s Empire. They have a lot of it, but It''s very hard to make any deal with those Arachne." saidBaldrick, a weircat of common blood and the lastmember of Council.


    "I guess with this my plansafter graduating from the Academy are decided." smiled mother.


    There was an agreement, that once each of our House has an airship, Aizerus Alliance will declare war to the Zolmor Kingdom.

 Not a Chapter, but please read as it concerns the plans about the future of the story

    First of all sorry for vanishing on this one. The worlds in both books I write are completely different and as one was getting in the way of another I just thought of finishing one book before continuing with the other. But from the way it goes, it might be very far in the future so, while most likely at the slower pace than before, I decided to start writing this one again.Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.


    That being said, after looking at the story so far, I found many details... lacking, so my plan is to rewrite the whole thing. I will start doing that in a week or two so in the meantime, anyone who has suggestions of what should be changed or improved, feel free to share in the comment section below. I do not guarantee that it will happen, but the ideas I find interesting might make an appearance in the book.

 Not a Chapter

    As the name suggests, the link above directs to a book, that is basically the same story, but nowslightly altered and hopefully with better grammar. Have planned to release it earlier, but making new cover took much more time than I thought. Anyway, I have no plans to delete this old book, as it''s very nice to have a backup in case the data on PC is lost, but the story I will work on will be the one linked above.This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.


    Once I catch up with the events written in the old book, will release a note,soall who don''t want to read all over again will know when to start. Depending onhow much the story deviates from the original might even list the changes in a few words once that time comes.
