《The Immortal Demon》 Chapter 1: Awakening Feeling as if he had just broken out of an eternal dream Lucifer woke up once again. "I''m back..." Standing from his black throne that gave off an insidious aura, he walked down the pile of bones surrounding it, and then--- "Shit, I''ve been in slumber for so long that even my legs fell asleep." Picking himself immediately after awkwardly tripping, the demon made his way down to the ground slowly. "My horns, tail, and wings have all disappeared, I can''t even feel a sliver of my original power left, truly an undesirable predicament." Making sure all his body functions were working properly, Lucifer thoroughly inspected every part of it. Although he couldn''t find anything wrong with his body, it bothered him how much he looked more human than demon now, if it weren''t for his golden eyes with a very much inhuman slit black pupils, he wouldn''t even be able to call himself a demon out of shame. "I guess I''m perfectly fine." Barely satisfied with his current condition Lucifer nodded, he was thankful that at least he still had limbs. Then, snapping his fingers, a black magic circle suddenly appeared below his feet, and from it came impossibly dark mist that enveloped the entirety of his body. Twisting and turning, soon the mist disappeared, dispersing into nothingness. With the mist now gone, it revealed the demon in an elegant black suit. "Now then, shall we dance?" Looking towards the darkness in front of him, he saw countless shards of ice were heading towards his direction. Despite the shards of ice flying at him almost reaching the speed of sound, Lucifer dodged each and everyone of them as if he knew the path they would take. As he continued to avoid the seemingly endless barrage of ice, a chilling wave of air came rushing to Lucifer''s direction, freezing everything that it passed. With a simple snap of his fingers, a magic circle appeared in front of Lucifer and from the ground rose a gigantic earth wall. *Whooosh!!!* The ground shook as the powerful wave of icy wind passed by. Looking at his sides Lucifer saw the ground frozen solid with ice imbued with magic, the only space not frozen was the space he stood on. Then suddenly an alarm inside Lucifer''s head warned him of incoming danger.= *Boom!* A gigantic pointed ice pillar broke through his stone wall as if it was tofu. "Heh..." Seeing the huge projectile, Lucifer had used his chi and enveloped his right hand in a dark aura. "Shatter!" With a single right hook the magically strengthened ice pillar shattered into countless pieces. "Still warming up huh?" Sensing incoming danger once more Lucifer jumped back and just barely dodged the attack from two giant constructs made out of ice, ice golems. Compressing his chi on his feet Lucifer charged at the golems and moved as if teleporting. He smashed the head of the golem on the right with his knee and used earth magic to crush the other one into peices as earth spikes erupted from the ground, both golems had the cores in their head destroyed rendering them useless. "Starting to get serious are we?" From the distance Lucifer saw a horde of countless ice golems charging towards him.The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. With a snap of his fingers, dozens of fireballs appeared behind Lucifer. With perfect accuracy the fireballs hit the golems cores and shattered them into fine pieces as they exploded upon contact, several tens of golems instantly became nothing more than steam. Then, as the barrage of fireballs continue to completely overpower the golems, something very fast had slipped passed the chaos and headed towards Lucifer. He didn''t dodge the blurry projectile but instead stood his ground and focused chi on his eyes. With a single fluid motion he moved to the side just slightly for the projectile to miss, then at the same time grabbed the projectile before it passed. "You finally showed yourself, ice spirit." Clutching a trident made out of ice in his left hand, Lucifer moved his body to the right as he saw something with a humanoid figure heading towards him even faster than the trident had. Destroying the ice trident in his hand, Lucifer found an opening in the female ice spirit''s defence as it moved pass him and slammed his elbow onto her side but- *Crack!* A pillar of ice had blocked his attack and froze his left hand inside of magical ice in the process. ''So the ice drains both my mana and chi huh?'' Feeling the mana and chi inside his left hand being drained, Lucifer realized he could,nt break it out of the magically hardened ice. The ice spirit looked at Lucifer and spoke as if looking down on him. "You had no chance of defeating me demon, my master created me for the sole purpose of killing you." However, Lucifer only smirked at the spirit''s words, "Is that so?" Without a second thought, Lucifer ripped his own left hand off his body. *Ssssshhhhh!* The fatal injury of Lucifer losing one of his arms had already started healing as something resembling smoke rose up from the wound. And not even three seconds had passed, Lucifer had already regrown a new arm. "Show me what you got." Though the ice spirit was shocked at the scene it immediately came back to it''s senses and started creating and throwing ice tridents at a breathtaking speed. While covering his fist with his chi, Lucifer started destroying each and everyone of the ice spears targeted at him at such a fast speed that he started creating afterimages. Just when the fight looked started looking like a stalemate, something had intervened. *Boom!* A gigantic earth sword several meters long had crashed down on Lucifer. As the smoke cleared it revealed Lucifer surrounded by a magic barrier with only a tear on his garment as the sword was only able to pierce halfway through. "So the other players have come..." Behind the ice spirit suddenly appeared four other humanoids, one made from flames, one from earth, one from the wind, and the last one was from light. "You''re life shall end here demon!" It was chaos, giant balls of fire rained down from the sky, spikes of earth erupted from the ground, tornadoes spawned everywhere, and beams of light that disintegrated everything in their path was targeted at Lucifer. As he was getting target by an absurd amount of magic attacks, Lucifer had been looking for an opening to attack. "Got you!" Lucifer jumped towards the rock spirit that seemed to have a split second interval while casting earth spikes. "Stupid demon..." Pretending to have been waiting for a cooldown the earth spirit saw the opportunity and launched a giant earth spike directly towards Lucifer''s heart. "Guaaah!" Blood sprayed out of Lucifer''s mouth as his torso was pierced, but then--- "...Heh!" Despite getting mortally wounded Lucifer''s lips curved as he smirked, Lucifer pointed his right hand at the earth spirit. The blood splatters on the earth golem''s body started glowing as they formed a circle with strange runes. "Blood magic, seal." Lucifer used his fist that was clad in chi and destroyed the earth spike impaling him. "I guess that''s enough for a warm up..." Said Lucifer as the gaping hole in his chest already started in healing itself and in a few seconds was already completely recovered. "Blood magic, blades." From the veins on Lucifer''s wrist erupted crimson blood that solidified and became 12 blood red short swords all in all. With a snap of his fingers the blood swords shot out towards the rock golem which was unable to move and cast magic because of the blood seal. *Thak! Thak! Thak!* The blades had cleanly stabbed into the earth spirit without any difficulty. "Blood magic, energy drain." The blood swords stabbed into the earth golem glowed and started absorbing the life force of the helpless spirit. "Don''t be cocky demon!" A conjured ice coffin suddenly appeared out of nowhere and trapped Lucifer inside it. "Fall before the light.¡± The light spirit waited for the opening that his sister, the ice spirit, would create and shot out a bright beam of light. *Kaaazaaak!!!* The entire upper half of Lucifer had been completely destroyed and had turned to dust. *Ssssssshhhhhh!* The upper body of Lucifer started regrowing itself as soon as the attack ended and in a few seconds his body all the way up to the neck had regenerated. "Turn to ashes!" A sea of crimson flames, conjured by the fire spirit, had suddenly swept over Lucifer before he could fully regenerate and engulfed him entirely, or so it seemed like that. As the dust dissipated revealing the charred earth, Lucifer was inside a dome made out of his own blood appeared that had completely negated the damage from the attack. "Blood magic, double." And then as he commanded, the blood making up the dome collected and transformed into Lucifer''s exact double. "Blood magic, explode." Together with a snap of his fingers the swords impaled on the earth golem exploded and the only thing left was a perfectly round, brown core crystal. "Now, let me show you the true power of a demon, spirits of the Great Magister." Said Lucifer with a serious tone as a giant bastard sword made out of his blood appeared in his right hand. Chapter 2: Core With the huge bastard sword just barely smaller than himself, Lucifer deflected all the elemental attacks coming from his front as he got closer to the spirits. "Blood magic, wings." At the end of his words, blood once again erupted from his wrist and this time it formed a pair of crimson wings which attached themselves on Lucifer''s back. He had been looking for an opening to completely destroy the earth spirit''s core which had already started regenerating its physical body, but as the other spirits easily caught on to his plans they prevented him from coming any closer, and even with his increased mobility was unable to pass. After Receiving an order to from his master, Lucifer''s clone had started distracting both the fire spirit and wind spirit. The clone slammed his fist into the ground, creating a thick wall of magically enhanced earth that surrounded and trapped the two spirits for a short moment *Craack!* *Boom!* A lance of wind had broke through the wall of earth as if it were paper. "Foolish..." In a split second the freed wind spirit conjured more than a dozen wind lances and shot them all at once towards the double. By concentrating the chi on his legs, the clone was able to dodge the incoming wind lances without getting a scratch. *Fuuushuuu!* An unexpected fire geyser shot up from where the double was, but due to his incredible reflexes the double was able to use a part of the blood it was made up of to create a barrier in time. Unscathed from the attack it took head on, the double didn''t waste a second and used the blood he used for the barrier and created a scythe out of it. "Brother, let me handle this..." The wind spirit stopped the fire spirit who was preparing to activate multiple spells and conjured a long and curved single-edged blade out of air. Without saying anything, the double launched itself at the wind spirit and madly swung around the weapon in its hands. Like a seasoned warrior, the wind spirit dodged each and every attack from the scythe by moving only the bare minimum needed of its body as if it saw the weapon''s trajectory, while also looking for possible openings. Looking back to see his double, Lucifer knew that it would not hold up for much longer and that he needed to finish the fight before his ki and mana depleted. You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author. "Blood magic, shield." At his command more than a dozen bucklers made out purely of blood intercepted the incoming shower of earth swords. Unable to destroy the core in time, the earth spirit had already fully regenerated and was already retaliating. ''These spirits, despite the death of their master, which caused a lot of their power to deplete are still able to fight this well huh? As expected from his creations.'' While in thought, the angry earth spirit that was hungry for revenge appeared out of nowhere and swung its gigantic battle axe at Lucifer. Without enough time to dodge, Lucifer took on the attack with his sword. *Craaash!* Because of the overwhelming strength of the earth spirit, Lucifer came crashing down the earth like a meteor. And in quick succession, the earth spirit made follow up attack and made giant earth swords rain down from above. Noticing he was being cornered, Lucifer had erected a barrier in front of him and defended against the barrage of earth swords. Seeing the enemy preoccupied by the assault of earth swords the ice spirit saw an opening from the side and decided to attack using her trident. "Space magic, transport." Upon finding an opportunity for a counterattack as the ice spirit charged at him, Lucifer continued to focus on defending from the onslaught of earth magic and let himself be pierced by the trident, while casting space magic to transport his other arm and attack. Lucifer grit his teeth as the attack from the ice spirit pierced his body and severely damage his insides. "Heh..." The blood from inside of Lucifer''s body had been infused by magic and wrapped around the trident and the ice spirit''s body to make it incapable of moving. Then, a black hole that tore through the very fabric of space appeared behind the ice spirit, and from it came out a hand. Covering the warped hand with chi that could easily cut through a crystal, Lucifer stabbed his arm into the unmoving ice spirit''s body and pulled out its core. "End of your rope..." Without any hesitation Lucifer crushed the perfectly round blue orb in his hand, preventing the spirit from regenerating and permanently destroying it. "One down..." While the crushed core pieces in his hand dissipated, Lucifer stopped the space magic and immediately created a blood shield as he saw something approaching from his side. *Claaang!* The enraged wind spirit swung down its sword with power that could possibly split a mountain, but reacting fast enough, Lucifer''s magic caught the blade and nullified it''s damage. "Void magic, zero zone." Then with Lucifer''s words the entire place turned pitch black, an infinite zone of nothing but darkness, with only Lucifer and the spirit''s inside visible. "I have one minute to end this battle." Said Lucifer as he snapped his fingers, and from the darkness appeared hundreds of crimson spears. The entire area had turned into Lucifer''s domain, giving him full control of everything inside it. Unable to use their main strength which is their magic, the remaining spirits were nothing more than sitting ducks. "Now show me how much you can take." _ ? _ ? _ ? _ Crushing the orange colored orb under his foot, Lucifer had completely annihilated all of the elemental spirits. Leaving the apocalyptic looking battlefield, the demon continued to move forward. After a few minutes of walking Lucifer reached something that looked like a layer of thin green glass blocking his path. ''This is the barrier that''s been weakening me the whole time, seems like even his magic is not impervious to the passage of time.'' Putting his palm on the surface of the barrier, Lucifer said one word, "break." With a loud shattering sound the barrier broke into pieces and dissipated. "Hm?" Looking in front of him, Lucifer saw the old dusty skeleton of a man in robes sitting on a throne made of earth, it was the remains of a once legendary mage. Coming closer to the skeleton, a few words escaped Lucifer''s lips, "good try kid." With a snap of his fingers the skeleton burst into flames, and on the floor the demon saw a round marble platform with runes engraved on it, a teleportation circle. ''I guess it''s time to leave this place.'' Update! + Chapter 3: Out ''The world surely has changed after my disappearance.'' Thought Lucifer as he stood atop the tip of a giant pine tree. He scanned the nearby locations for anything he could remember, only to see nothing even slightly reminiscent of the places in his memory. In the distance, far east near a stream he could see rising black smoke-----a sign of civilization. Smiling, his figure suddenly vanished. - 0 - 0 - 0 - "Don''t get any closer!" She screamed as her body threatened to give out. Clutching the huge gaping wound on her stomach, she felt as if her guts were about to fall out, the blood flowing down from her wound was like a stream, if the wound didn''t kill her first the blood loss would. Already pale, she watched as her life force spilled on the ground. The only thing that kept her conscious was pure strength of will. She wasn''t prepared to die yet. The three men in front of her slowly stepped forward with big grins plastered on their faces, one of them licking the blood off the sword that sliced open her gut. "Ah, elven blood, a treasured product with the ability to preserve a person''s youth." Said one of the men handling a small tomahawk, his eyes focused on her. "Is that what your after!?" She shouted, anger flaring up from her depths as her blood boiled. She wasn''t even a living being in the men''s eyes, but rather a big profit. All three of the men laughed, then the one in the middle, the biggest one that had sliced her open looked at her with serious eyes. "You''re wrong, you see, the value of elven blood might be high, but the value of their hearts," he licked his lips, "is priceless. It is believed to give a person an elf''s lifespan and greatly increase someone''s mana and magical affinity if eaten." She grimaced as images of what the men would do to her flashed in her mind. The fear that gripped her overcame her rage as tears started flowing down her face. Her fire magic was her only means of defense, but with the pain from her wound she couldn''t concentrate to cast even a tiny spark. Seeing the men get closer, she closed her eyes. ''Please...'' She pleaded to anything that she could, anything that could save her, but she knew nothing was there to heed her call. Awaiting her grim fate she waited to be struck down, at this point she only wished for a quick death. She heard a loud sound causing her body to shiver as it tensed up. She knew that her death was next, and yet... nothing came. Opening her eyes ever so slightly, a scene of beautiful carnage entered her vision. The ground and trees were stained with deep red color forming a flower-like pattern, and in the middle of it all was a man in a black suit, his slit golden eyes staring right into her as if unraveling her every secret. She couldn''t make sense of the situation, but the closer she looked, the more she saw the true beauty of the person before her. The amount of pure, crimson colored mana that swirling around the man like a tempest was simply awe inspiring. He radiated a chilling aura of calm, sharp bloodlust, yet with a warm gentleness underneath. This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report. "A-angel..." She muttered as she took a step forward, both hands outstretched as they tried to reach out towards the man, but almost immediately she felt something else overtake her-----darkness. - 0 - 0 - 0 - Reaching the spot he saw earlier, Lucifer was met with noting but a small patch of scorched earth and a trail of blood going upstream. Then, he heard a scream in the distance together with the scent of an elf and three men. He felt a type of sadistic bloodlust from the three men and the scent of blood from the bed elf. "I see..." He muttered upon realizing the situation. Although he already felt exhausted, with the amount of chi in his body nearly rock bottom, and with less than 1/12 of his mana remaining, even he could get overpowered by a group of well trained bandits at his current state, but then... He remembered the promise he made with the elven princess. Unforgettable memories resurfaced opening up old wounds. It was a lifelong debt he incurred. And here he was now. Running upstream he followed the stench of blood, using magic to hasten his speed. He saw them, three men and a cornered---dying young elf. Using the element of surprise he jumped straight into the middle of the three men. Almost spontaneously, he used his last remaining chi to strengthen his left hand, making his open palm sharper than a sword. Taking a sword stance he used his palm like a blade. Speed, dexterity and mastery was thekey of his attack. Like a whirlwind he struck immediately, not even giving the men time to notice his existence before slicing them apart as he spun around. Skin, flesh, bone---everything was severed, crimson spilling outwards as the process repeated itself over and over again instantaneously. Soon, he was finished. Only broken weapons, tiny shredded pieces of cloth, and diced pieces of flesh remained of the three men. He stood in the middle of a blooming red flower he had planted. A slight feeling of pride welled up in Lucifer at seeing his own handiwork, but he had more pressing concerns. Checking on the elf girl, he heard her mutter some words before suddenly reaching out to him. Seeing her fall to the ground, he dashed to her side and caught her. Feeling something wet and squishy on his arm, he realized the severity of the situation. ''Her intestines are sliding out.'' - 0 - 0 - 0 - She was walking in the darkness, not a soul in sight. There was no way to know which path was forward. Then, she saw herself in the distance together with three men. She casted a fire spell, but she wasn''t fast enough. One of the men threw a dagger that embedded itself in her elbow, causing the magic to miss, and almost immediately another man dashed towards her, slashing open her stomach. She ran, but she was too wounded to escape. She knew her life would end at that moment, any yet she couldn''t help but plead for someone to help her. And then it came... The crimson angel. ... ...... ......... "Haah... Haah... Haah..." She jolted up, suddenly awaken from her dream. Her chest, rising and falling rapidly. Catching her breath, she calmed herself. Then, something important was recalled. ''My stomach!'' She screamed internally, panicking as she threw away the blanket that covered her body. Lifting up her bloodstained shirt she looked at her stomach and was shocked to realize it was completely okay. There wasn''t even the slightest of scars. Her eyes suddenly darted at her surrounding. It was already deep within the night. She was on a makeshift bed made out thick, yet comfortable cloth of unknown origin. A fire rested nearby, and beside it was a wooden basket that emanated the smell of berries. ''Where is he?'' Looking to her sides she saw nobody, but as she moved her gaze upward she suddenly felt a chill down her spine. There he was. The man that saved her, laying his back on the trunk of a huge pine tree as he sat on its branch, his golden eyes giving off a soft glow as he gazed at the sky. A vicious predatorial aura covering his entire being. She then realized that he wasn''t gazing at the stars above, but rather-----he had fallen asleep with open eyes. Then, as if feeling the recoil from her earlier injury, she felt drowsiness take hold of her body. She couldn''t refuse the call of the warm sheets. If it were just her, she wouldn''t be able to sleep out of fear of being killed while she rested, but with the angel watching her, all her anxiety disappeared, together with the rest of her fears. Eyelids heavy, body weakening, she couldn''t help but allow the darkness to take her.
