The man they were dragging had light white sleeping clothes he was screaming and begging for his life and pleaded to be let go but the black robbed men only gagged him and continued on their way. After some time the dragged man stopped resisting and let him be taken away easily, in his mind he just gave up he saw that there was no hope for him even after all his beginning the two didn''t even spare a glance at him. He knew no actually he heard of the people that captured him he heard rumors in a nearby tavern where he often spent his nights, he heard of a rising cult in their kingdom, a cult dedicated to the fallen gods of Atmos. But how could have he known that one night a beautiful stranger would sit right beside him and offer him her services, after rough days of working on his farm he just wanted to have some good time, but looking at it now he thought to himself that no beauty would look at the thirty-year-old farmer that can barely buy bread in the morning. I am never gonna trust a woman again. He thought to himself as the two that were dragging him stopped suddenly. He raised his head and saw a giant rust iron door that had a strange eye symbol painted on it, to him the painted eye looked rather ugly like it was done by a three-year-old child. "You brought the *specimen*" the rusty iron door opened and a familiar sweet voice entered his ears, he recognized it immediately as he looked up he saw the wretch that drugged him that night her black hair swayed over her shoulder as she smiled sweetly at him. She wore similar robes like the two men but hers was red and had a giant black eye painted on her robes but this one wasn''t so ugly as the one on the iron doors. "Oh my don''t give me that look you are gonna make me blush!" the woman smiled as she lowered down to meet his eyes, but he just glared at her with pure hatred. "Nothing to say, oh well it doesn''t matter" the woman stood up "take him inside and give him the red bottle we are gonna try the red with this one this should be fun, I am sure the second prince will enjoy the show as well huhuhuh!" the woman laughed as she gave her grim orders to her servants. It wasn''t long before he felt sharp pain from his neck like it was pierced by something very sharp. "PAIN!" the man felt something entering his body, he wanted to kick and scream from the pure amount of pain he felt, it was like thousand little bites from his neck it only got worse as time slowly passed, his entire body shook from the pain to him it felt like an eternity has passed. Oh, gods please end my life and my torment! If there is reincarnation please do not let me be a human again! Or any other sentient race I want to have nothing to do with them they are all the same! I don''t mind if I get erased completely just end my suffering!! The man screamed inside his head like a madman but the pain continued until it stopped completely the world around him froze and he heard just a few words before he lost his consciousness. "So be it, your torment is over and your new life shall begin" Those were the last words he heard as he drifted away. Back inside the room, the rusty iron door was slowly opened a young man with bright blond hair walked inside he was a definition of handsome with his top quality clothes that screamed noble. The black haired woman slowly followed behind him with a grim look on her face. "Nadia I said that you would make me an army of loyal monsters that would follow my every command but what is this how many times have you failed already what am I backing you up for!?" "M...my prince Vint please forgive me these are just minor setbacks you will have your army soon trust this servant of yours!" the woman Nadia bowed down in front of the second prince as she pleaded her case. "Hmph! You better not fail me I am taking enough risk as it is to finance....you lunatics, now I have to leave the king has requested my presence I don''t wantto be late now do I?" the prince slowly turned around and made his way out of the room. Nadia raised her head and looked at the back of the prince, as soon as he was gone she spit in his direction and cursed at him. "Master shall we take care of him?" the two black-robed men kneeled down and asked in unison. Nadia turned around and looked at her servants "no we still need his support in this kingdom, heh but soon we will finish our goal here and our true master will have his army ready to do his bidding" "Now go and bring more" Nadia commanded and slowly made her way out of the room but she stooped and turned around "ah and get rid of the filthy thing" she pointed at the lifeless body still chained to a chair. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Ugh, my head....wait what happened to those fanatics that killed me, why am I alive??" He slowly opened his eyes and what he saw was a sight that truly shocked him, he was in some kind of cocoon, he was deep in strange green fluids. He panicked and started punching and kicking the walls of the cocoon, as he did that he noticed his hand and feet were different, for starters they were small extremely small, they had small claws at the end of each finger, the skin was also different it was white with bright red lines all across. "What the hell am I !?" He screamed but all that came from his throat was strange gurgling sound. Not long after he saw a large silhouette hovering over his cocoon, he got scared and panicked was he going to die just as he got reincarnated?? Claws tore the side of the cocoon and he got washed out with the strange liquid that was inside he fell butt first on the cold hard ground. As he looked up he saw claws very big claws, similar white skin with red lines no clothes no hair on the body very viscous black eyes with yellow irises and a mouthful of extremely looking sharp teeth. Chapter 2: Survival of the strongest No way this must be a dream I mean I did plead and beg to the gods but this... If I knew I would be a ghoul in my next life I would have been more specific! As he screamed in his mind about the misfortune of his newly given life and body the ghoul that tore his cocoon crouched down and grabbed him by the leg and lifted him in the air and brought him closer to his face. "Wha....what the hell!?" he screamed as the ghoul observed him, he did speak the tongue of humans but all that came was the same gurgling sound as before nothing more. He stopped struggling as he saw it was rather pointless he was a newly born his strength was nothing, so even if he tried to use the little claws he had they would probably break as they looked rather fragile. The ghoul kept staring at him a little longer before he spoke in his strange deep voice and he sounded rather displeased as he did. "Kahh...female another....worthless" as he finished he slowly stood up and carried him off deeper inside. The man looked around as he was being carried off still only by the leg, he noticed that he was inside some kind of cave possible a very big cave as the tunnels he passed were rather long this cave was most likely a nest of these ghouls. It didn''t take long to register that the ghoul actually spoke the language he understood but what shocked him the most was what the ghoul spoke and said. "No...I don''t remember asking to be a female, you damned gods!?" And again he or rather a she now, screamed and like before only gurgling sounds came out which rather annoyed the ghoul that was carrying her around he glanced at her which made her shut up immediately out of fear it was pure instinct. After some time they arrived at their destination, the ghoul tossed her inside a wooden cage and a rather badly built one at that it was mostly made out of branches and sticks. She hit the bottom of the cage with a thud but this time she didn''t feel pain as before when she got washed out with the fluids of her cocoon or rather the egg? She didn''t know either. She glanced down and saw a furry thing on the ground she landed at, most likely a wolf hide that had a really bad luck to get caught by the ghouls and got skinned alive, everyone knows that ghouls love inflicting pain, poor wolf. "Gagaga" she heard a familiar gurgling sound in the corner of her cage she moved her head in the direction of the sound and saw a bunch of little ghouls just like herself. "I see so this is where they put their newborns" as she was calmly observing the baby ghouls she saw a group of ghouls were ganging up on a smaller ghoul. "Ghouls are vicious and aggressive creature by nature so it makes sense that their newborns are the same, to them its strong eat the weak" she thought to himself as the group of bullying ghouls grew even more vicious which made her snap out of her thoughts and look at the group. The smaller ghoul tried to fight but she was overpowered by the stronger and bigger baby ghouls, looking at them she could only think that the bigger baby ghouls were male and the smaller one was probably the female, looking at bullied ghoul and than at her body, she could only come to that conclusion.Royal Road is the home of this novel. The male ghouls kicked and scratched the female ghoul, they made sounds that could only be described as laughter while the little female ghoul was whimpering on the floor. It wasn''t long before they noticed another female making their way towards them, they looked at each other and made a facial expression that looked like a grin. "I hope this works" her heart was pounding loudly as she was really scared one wrong move and she would probably be killed by these male ghouls not to mention she was rather a coward in her old life as a human but she steeled her resolve which made her fear go away she understood that this was for her survival. The group of male ghouls blocked her way and surrounded her, she hid the sharp rock in her hand as much as she could. "Gugu" the tallest and the strongest looking ghoul stepped forward and made the strange gurgling sound like all the other ghouls make but his voice was deeper she was right they are all male. He charged at her full speed without any warning his claws were already fully heading to her neck, she jumped backwards just in time to avoid the males claws but she did not avoid them completely as they slashed across her right eye, she was lucky as her eye wasn''t damaged the claws of the male just tore through the flesh around it. She slowly backed away towards the wall of the wooden cage, the male was already sure of his victory over her as he grinned at her and made his way slowly towards her, the other males cheered on their alpha. "Just a little bit closer" she thought as she readied her hidden weapon the sharp rock in her hand. The male ghoul felt no fear from the frail-looking female as he charged once again at her with his sharp claws he was truly confident that this strike will end it, but she waited for this moment and ducked at the right time his claws hit the wooden wall of the cage. As he hollowed in pain the female ghoul took this opportunity to attack she hit the male ghoul right in the forehead with her hidden rock, he fell down with an even bigger howl of pain he felt. She didn''t just leave it at that she sat down on him and continuously bashed his head with the sharp rock until the male stopped moving and kicking. "Huff...huff" she was exhausted from her first fight she stood up all and glanced at the other male ghouls and made a low threatening growl at them. It didn''t take long for the other ghouls to understand what fear was as they looked at the frail female ghoul cowered in the blood of their former alpha. They backed away from her and let her pass, she glanced at her hand and looked at the bloody rock "this is the first time I took another life...and I feel nothing is it because I am a ghoul? Maybe I should be grateful I don''t feel anything" she threw the rock outside the cage and made her way towards the bullied female ghoul. The bullied ghoul flinched at the sight of a bloody ghoul standing in front of her, she thought that this new ghoul would bully her as well but instead of bullying the other ghoul just crouched down and patted her head with her bloody arms. She looked at the blood covered ghoul and saw a smile or at least something that looked like a smile. "To survive I will probably need allies so this one will be good for now even a ghoul should feel gratitude for saving it right?" she thought to herself as she continued to pat the head of the bullied ghoul. "But still being a female its like my parents knew this would happen and gave me a bloody female name....Niraya.... bloody hell" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 3: Changes and disturbance "Ughh why is this thing so freaking hard to do!?" Niraya yelled as she tried to make herself simple clothes so she could cover her private parts. Even if she was a ghoul now she doesn''t have to be a savage one that doesn''t know anything and just acts according to instinct and go all commando, because of her former life of a human she felt shame walking around without any clothes on, but she soon gave up as she was just not skilled enough to even make some simple clothes. A week has passed since that little incident where she killed the former alpha of the newly born ghouls and many changes happened in that small amount of time. The first and major change was not something Niraya expected at all and was the change as how the newborn ghouls saw her, after killing the former alpha it seems that she automatically assumed his position as the new alpha honestly she didn''t want for that to happen she only wanted to show her strength and to be left alone but ghouls are creatures that follow the strong almost like wolfs but only more brutal and cruel. The other major thing was the ghouls terrifying speed of growth only a week has passed and already the former baby ghouls are now the same hight as a twelve-year-old human child. Niraya was stunned by her growth in such a short amount of time, one morning you are a baby that just came into this world and the next one you are an adult that has to care for himself, not that adult ghouls took care of the baby ghouls that much they would come and toss some dead animals carcass into the cage and move on with whatever they are doing. Another thing that shocked Niraya was the thing that shook behind her, yes it was a thin white with red lines just like her skin tail. The first morning she saw it she freaked out, she thought she was attacked by a strange snake monster and actually tried to strangle it only after some time and a sharp pain that came from her attack did she realize what it was. "At least now it is a lot easier to recognize female ghouls from male ones" she thought to herself as she looked at her tail once again. What made her snap out of her daze was a little ball that curled beside her, the little ball was the former bullied female ghoul for some reason even with the freakish nature of growing so fast the bullied ghoul didn''t grow too much she might be a size of a five or six years old. I poked the little ghoul beside me and woke her up as she was kicking around with her tail too much, she raised her head and looked at me she smiled or at least did something that resembled a smile and jumped to hug Niraya''s leg her tail swayed like that of a dog. "Sigh" Niraya sighed at the scene where the little ghoul acted like a little dog rather than a ferocious beast that devoured animals and humans whole. But the little ghoul did become ferocious only not to Niraya after she became the alpha of the ghoul pack whenever it was time for food the little ghoul would leave Niraya''s side and come back with a large chunk of meat in her mouth, Niraya just thought that she just arrives there first and gets the biggest chunk of meat. But in reality, the little ghoul became so ferocious that made all the other ghouls fear and cover whenever she came to get her meal she was no longer a bullied ghoul but rather a true bloodthirsty beast like the ghouls are, of course Niraya knew nothing about it and just thought that she was useless. As Niraya looked at little ghoul waving its tail around the doors of the cage opened and the same tall male ghoul that threw Niraya into this cage spoke up.Enjoying this book? "He is most likely the nest alpha, unlike me leading these newborns he is a true beast I better be careful...for now" Niraya thought to herself and walked towards one of the tunnels, she completely failed to notice the eyes of the smallest ghoul in her group the eyes full of bloodthirst towards the nest alpha, that of course was the formerly bullied ghoul. Niraya led her pack through one of the tunnels, the nest alpha didn''t show them the way out but a ghouls sense of smell is on par with wolves so it wasn''t too hard to find a hole leading to the outside world. "This is...." Niraya was dumbfounded at the sight in front of her as she stepped outside the nest for the first time. "Snow...." in front of her eyes was bright snow-covered forest everywhere she looked she would only see white treetops. "Damn...so this is how the northern region looks but the question is what kingdom did I end up in...I just hope it is not Elbedar" Niraya gulped down her saliva as she continued to look around for anything that might tell her where exactly was she. "If its Elbedar we...I am screwed who would want to be reborn as a monster in a monster hunter....no exterminator kingdom!?" she freaked out and started waving her hands around like a lunatic. This upset the little ghoul as she came closer and hugged Niraya''s leg and let out whimpering sounds. Niraya looked down and finally calmed down "yeah you are right maybe we are lucky.." she finally calmed down and petted the head of the little ghoul which made the little one let out a sound that resembled a cats purr. "Anyway we need to look for our own food from now on, or we will starve to death I doubt the adult ghouls will take pity on us lets move!" even tho Niraya spoke her speech sounded like a bunch of beastly howls but for some strange reasons the ghouls in her pack understood it completely and followed closely behind her. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Father you have requested my presence?" the second prince of Galma kingdom Vint Helford entered the throne room with all his pride of a noble. "Vint come sit down we need to speak of a serious matter" the elderly man with a big grey beard spoke as he pointed at the seat next to a young and handsome similarly blonde haired man. "Greetings to you brother Elias" Vint greeted his elder brother with a slight bow to which Elias only responded with a small nod. "Well then, shall we begin" the king and a father of the two princes Helgoras Helford spoke up in his elderly voice and looked at his two sons, they both nodded and the king continued. "You all know that I am not going to live much longer the illness of my heart is growing stronger by the day, and I need to name my successor now by the tradition the eldest son would be given the throne but I will do it differently, both of you will set out and conquer our hated enemies to the north no longer shall we be in a stalemate with them" Helgoras continued with a growing anger and hatred in his voice. "The barbarians that established their so-called northern kingdoms alliance is a threat to our great kingdom both of you will take your legions and subjugate the northern kingdoms I will let you chose which one you will take first who ever subjugates more shall be named my successor I am confident that I will witness the fall of the northern alliance before I die, now excuse me I need to lie down for a while" Helgoras stood up and slowly made his way out of the throne room with a help of his servant. The brother bowed until he left the throne room then stood up and looked at each "chose where you will start little brother I shall start from the opposite side if you want I will take on the famed monster hunter kingdom if they scare you" Elias smirked as he spoke. "Hah, me scared of those northern barbarians, fine I will make sure that Elbedar is the first one to fall even before you move your army brother, besides how strong can their army be when they are led by a woman hahaha" Vint laughed as he left the throne room and Elias behind. The snow was falling down quite heavily today so any tracks the animal might leave would be quickly covered up by it but still, she could not return to the nest without any food because there is no telling what the adult ghouls and the nest alpha will do to her and her little pack. "Grrr!!!" as she was absorbed in her thoughts she heard a low menacing growl coming from her left, she quickly ordered her pack to slowly approach the place where the sound came from. She made her way slowly towards the sound and as they got closer the sound became stronger and stronger and what seemed to be just a growl of a beast at first it turned out to be an all-out battle between two different packs of dire wolves. Niraya commanded her pack to hide quite far from where the battle of the two packs was taking place. Dire wolves are bigger and stronger than normal wolves and they are only found in the northern kingdoms as that is where they prefer to live with their packs. Niraya watched the two packs tore each other apart "the reason they are fighting must be because of the hunting ground seems there is a shortage of food for the bloodthirsty beasts like the dire wolves.....and ghouls" Niraya thought to herself as she continued to watch the bloodbath between the two packs. She turned her gaze at the two biggest dire wolves those must be the alpha''s they were both almost identical with their white fur and big build of their bodies the only thing that separated them was the color of their eyes one had bright blue eyes and the other dark green. The wolf with dark green eyes took the initiative to attack the other alpha it charged at him and tried to bite the neck of the blue-eyed alpha. But the blue-eyed alpha was not an alpha for nothing it quickly jumped to the side and counterattacked with its own powerful bite. The green-eyed alpha took a bite to the front legs and howled in pain but it did not forget to return the favor as he slashed across the blue-eyed alpha''s eyes leaving them both injured in short amount of time. The other smaller wolves of the pack were locked all locked in their own little death battle, Niraya gazed at the battle and secretly formed a plan "no matter which pack wins they will be too spent to defend themselves that''s when we will strike" cold light flashed in her eyes as she continued to watch the fight between two packs. After some time the wolves from the blue-eyed alpha''s side were completely destroyed not even one of them was left standing. Both alphas were equally bloodied and barely stood as they watched each other hatefully, the green-eyed alpha howled in victory as his pack surrounded and slowly got closer to the blue-eyed alpha. The blue-eyed alpha growled at them which made them flinch for a second but after seeing his injuries and his bloodied body they got confident again that he was no threat. "Now!" Niraya yelled out and jumped out of the cover of the trees and stood before the victories alpha and its pack. The green-eyed alpha was surprised and scared for a second but after seeing only one ghoul he relaxed and almost formed something of a mocking smile on his furry face. "Heh so you think I am actually alone....you are not the only ones who hunt in a pack you know?" as she said that about twenty of ghouls appeared from all sides as they surrounded the pack. Instantly the same fear he felt the first time appeared again after looking the situation he was in if he was not injured so badly and his pack was still in healthy numbers, this much ghouls would be nothing but that was not the case this time. He growled at the ghouls and slowly backed away, his pack was terrified as well as they followed their alpha in slowly retreating. "Gahh!" the ghouls became restless as they watched the wolves slowly backing away Niraya knew that the green-eyed alpha was going to retreat without a fight but she also understood the feelings of the ghouls the only thing she felt right now was a lust for bloodbath "ghouls are truly terrifying creatures....sorry" Niraya spoke as she gave the command to attack the retreating wolves.Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. That was simply a massacre as the ghouls descended upon them they whimpered in agony as the sharp claws torn the flesh of-of their bodies, ghouls were cruel creatures that knew very well where to strike and what to tear as they loved tormenting their prey and making them suffer before they kill them. One of the wolves managed to escape the encirclement of ghouls and charged at Niraya in his desperation but instincts took over Niraya and she easily avoided the wolfs attack and grabbed him by the tail, she lifted him up and slammed him hard against the nearby tree a sound of bones was heard as the wolf fell down on the ground. It whimpered in defeat but that just made Niraya become even more satisfied with herself she knew that as a human these feelings were wrong so very wrong but the ghoul instincts were stronger and took over her quite easily. She slowly approached the lying wolf and started cutting and carving his flesh out his once beautiful white fur was covered in blood and bits of hanging flesh. The wolf cried out in agony but that did not stop Niraya it only gave her even more satisfaction it didn''t take long for the wolf to die from the injuries Niraya gave it but the way he died was truly agonizing. Niraya snapped back and slowly stood up and looked at the carved out body of the wolf "sigh" "I need to learn to control my self-better" she thought to herself as she finally looked at the massacre the ghouls made "they ar....we are truly terrifying creatures" she whispered to herself as she made her way towards the last remaining wolf. She arrived at the scene where the green-eyed alpha had actually killed two of the ghouls despite his own injuries from the previous duel between the alphas. The ghouls growled at the alpha and were just about to jump at him altogether but they just stopped in place without moving a muscle, this made Niraya look at them in curiosity as she wondered what happened she heard a loud cry of the green-eyed alpha. As she looked at the alpha she was very surprised at the scene she saw before her, the little-bullied ghoul actually jumped down from a tree and onto the alphas back. She tore his back continuously and even bit him down on the neck with her razor-sharp teeth, the alpha tried to shake her off but to no success as the little ghoul stuck her claws too deep into his flesh. It wasn''t long before the light in his dark green eyes left him and he slowly collapsed on the blood covered snow. The little ghoul jumped of-of him and made her way towards Niraya with a happy smile and bloodied face. "Wow, I take it back you are truly a ferocious little ghoul aren''t you little one?" Niraya squatted down and petted the head of the little ghoul which in turn made the little one wave its tail around furiously. "Maybe I should give you a name...to all of you actually if I am to be an alpha I think you should have names there are only nineteen of us left, after all we should stick together as a pack!" as Niraya spoke the ghouls howled in agreement with her words. As they made their little cheer one of the ghouls started growling again behind Niraya, she turned around and saw the defeated alpha slowly standing up from the ground. "So he played dead heh" Niraya let out a small laugh she found it funny that a proud creature like a dire wolf would play dead just so it escape death. The ghouls were about to jump and tear the blue-eyed alpha apart but they were stopped by Niraya, she walked over to the blue-eyed alpha and just looked at it before she turned around and ordered her pack to start carrying the dead bodies back to their nest. The blue-eyed alpha looked at her back before he himself turned around and despite his injuries slowly walked away. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "My queen, Galma kingdom is finally making its move our spies have sent their report in haste" a man covered in a fur of a silver dire wolf kneeled down as he presented a paper in his hand towards a woman that sat down on what can only be called a throne but a throne made out of an enormous dragon head she was almost fully covered by the giant head only her silhouette of her could be seen. The woman took a piece of paper from the kneeling man and slowly read its content with a yawn. "So those fools are sending the second prince to attack us...if they sent the first prince I would have been worried but there is nothing to fear from an inexperienced brat now is there?" the woman yawned once again and threw the piece of paper into a nearby fire. "What are your order my queen?" the kneeling man smiled as he looked towards the giant bone throne. The woman in her forties slowly showed her full face and body, she had red eyes and equally long red hair she wore leather armor covered with a strange fiery red fur that complimented her eyes and her hair she was also rather tall for a woman but that did not affect the wild charm she gave out only intensified it. "Heh, Tharlur what do you mean? The ghouls from her pack were cheerful as they dragged the dead wolves to their side of the lair they wanted to eat their hard-earned meal quickly but they would never dare do that because they knew their instincts screamed that they shouldn''t touch anything before their alpha does. Niraya was pleased with this development as it meant that she could control them rather easily as she is the strongest, for the time being, she also knew that sometimes the alpha''s would be challenged for the right to lead she just prayed that it doesn''t happen soon. He was little worried because he was slower than Niraya but he knew that the inexperienced her would try the same attack again. He licked his lips as he slowly approached Niraya who desperately holding back the pain that assaulted she knew that the nest alpha was strong but she thought that she at least had a chance against him. The pain assaulted her more and more with each passing second, flashbacks of the day she died as a human came back like a storm inside her head the pain kept growing stronger and stronger she heard her human side scream for it to stop, but it didn''t it only kept growing. "Snap!" something snapped inside Niraya she could feel her body changing her body felt like it was being stabbed by countless blades all over she started to scream which made the nest alpha stop and cautiously eye her as she wouldn''t stop screaming. But something else started happening her body started to twist and turn she grew in size her claws got longer and sharper the top of her head was slowly filled with black long hair like the darkness itself the tail that looked like an oily snake now grew spikes all over. She screamed and rolled around for a few more moments before it all stopped the pain and the screaming, she stood up she huffed heavily but she felt strange she felt stronger she raised her hands and looked at them they were more humanlike but still same old ghoulish color and skin but with longer and sharper claws, she looked at the nearby puddle of water she now had hair her face didn''t look so ghoulish anymore but the razor-sharp teeth were still present alongside two stripe markings near her eyes and lastly her tail which she could now control even better than before.
