《Naruto: After the end.》 Prologue: The Valley of the End *Cough* Narumi stirs, laying on her back with her long blood red hair pooled around her. She gasps and stiffens before opening her bright blue eye, the left swollen shut. She glances down at her ruined right arm then at her companion next to her before softly calling out ¡°Hey... Sasuke?¡± *Groan* *Cough* ¡°yeah, I¡¯m here...¡± He responded faintly. Sasuke opens his dark eyes and slowly turns his head to look at his childhood rival. ¡°Why... did you not... kill me? Why... have you kept... chasing after... me?¡± He says looking her in the eyes.Narumi smiles faintly ¡°Because we¡¯re friends...¡± They both go quite for a time.If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. ¡±I¡¯ve been a terrible... friend...¡± Sasuke says faintly. ¡°Well... there¡¯s no time... like the present! Ha, Ha, ow!¡± Narumi replies with a chuckle before grimacing in pain. Sasuke also laughs quietly to himself. They look up and study the star filled sky for a time before Narumi breaks the silence once again. ¡°I hope Sakura made it... she was injured in the battle... pretty badly...¡± Sasuke grunts out ¡°I¡¯m sure... she¡¯ll pull... through...¡± as he shudders in pain. (Narumi? Narumi!) ¡®Huh?, hey Kurama... welcome back.¡¯ (Your dying! ) ¡®I¡¯m aware¡¯ (I may be able to do something about it, get closer Sasuke and I¡¯ll activate a jutsu!) ¡®Um... Ok.¡¯ Narumi painfully rolls over closer to Sasuke, he asks in alarm ¡°What... are you... doing?!¡± as she reopened some of her wounds with the movement. ¡°Kurama has a plan... just trust me... on this...¡± Narumi hisses as she grabs Sasuke with her remaining hand. They both vanished and the world went undone. A Sage鈥檚 Precaution Sasuke sits up sharply, his wounds were healed as if they never existed. His left arm whole once again, he clenches his hand into a fist, testing it. The unfamiliar surroundings drawning his attention, burnt out homes and forest surrounding him. He hears a pained groan from next to him, looking down to see Narumi curled into a ball clutching her head, but otherwise whole. ¡°Narumi? What¡¯s wrong?¡± He asked with concern. ¡°My eyes... it felt like they were on fire...¡± she looks up at Sasuke to see a surprised look appear on his face. ¡°What? Why are you staring at me like that?¡± ¡°Narumi your eyes... they¡¯re completely white... like a Hy¨±ga!¡± Sasuke exclaimed in shock. ¡°Well, this wasn¡¯t what I expected...¡± stated a third voice. Narumi and Sasuke whirl around on to their feet to face the voice¡¯s source to see the Sage of Six Paths standing before them, he continued ¡°The jutsu Kurama and his siblings activated to save the two of you and bring you here was intended to be a fail-safe in the event my mother¡¯s resurrection was imminent... To offer a second chance for preventing it, but it was used to give the two of you that chance. Please don¡¯t squander it.¡± ....................... Sasuke was the first to speak. ¡°Where exactly is ¡®here¡¯?¡± ¡±The two of you are still in the Land of Fire, when or where? I an uncertain.¡± Responded the great SageIf you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. ¡±When? What do mean by that?¡± Inquired Sasuke with a trace of irritation in his voice. ¡°The past. The seal I placed on each of the tailed beast allowed them, with cooperation to push an individual back through time should they pour their chakra into that seal, activating my jutsu. Undoing the events of the world up to this point in time. The more chakra, the further back you will travel.¡± calmly explained the Sage, leaving Sasuke stunned. Narumi with concern asked ¡°What are the consequences of us coming here? My eyes suddenly changed... so...¡± The Sage raised his hand silencing her, he then answered. ¡°I am a merely an imprint of chakra from the seal, my time is short. Through I will answer your questions before I dissipate. My time space jutsu reveresed time on your bodies back to an uninjured state. This process may caused the awakening of your byakugan, meaning you are also a descendent of my brother. As for consequences of your arrival? You do not need to worry, you will not suddenly cease to exist should you act, but there will be some slight changes going forward. Now farewell.¡± With that finale explanation the Sage of Six Paths fades away. Narumi and Sasuke while still numb from the encounter felt exhaustion creeping up upon them. Together they cleared a hollow in a nearby ruined house and together collapsed into a dreamless sleep. The next morning with a terrible hunger, they arose and began to explore the destroyed village. With nothing but the tattered and torn clothes on their backs, they started shifting through the rubble of the village for anything of use. After searching much of the destroyed village fruitlessly, they decided that foraging for food in the surrounding forest would be the best use of their time. Relying on their survival skills they gathered enough food to solve their immediate concerns of starvation. As they ate their meager breakfast, Narumi and Sasuke discussed their next course of action with the same thought in their heads. What now? The Road to Nochi City ¡°Well... the old man said we¡¯re somewhere in the Land of Fire, which is still rather vague. I think we should find a town or something to figure out where we are and what¡¯s going on¡± Stated Narumi gesturing towards the burnt ruins around her. Sasuke nodded in agreement before adding ¡°We also need to find some work or other means of gathering funds. We have next to nothing at the moment.¡± ¡°Then that settles it! I¡¯ll send some shadow clones to scout the area, then we¡¯ll travel to the nearest city!¡± exclamed Narumi, quickly summoning 10 clones that scattered woods around them. ¡±Narumi, something needs to be done about your eyes... Should wuord of them get to the Hy¨±ga or others, they will actively hunt for you.¡± Warned Sasuke¡± ¡°Oh, I totally forgot! Ha Ha...¡± Narumi said with an embarrassed laugh, scratching the back of her head. In response Sasuke just sighed and shook his head. Together they practiced their new Kekkei Genkai abilities while waiting for the clones. Narumi was recalling what her friend Hinata had shared with her about the byakugan. Using what she knew, she sat against a tree meditating. Narumi focused on supplying her eyes with chakra when her world suddenly expanded. Despite that her eyes were closed, she could see the world around her. After spending an hour meditating together, Narumi suddenly hopped to her feet. She approached a meditating Sasuke with some news. ¡°Hey! My clones unsummoned, we¡¯re about a half days journey south of Nochi City. Let¡¯s go!¡± Narumi cheerfully announced, then tearing a strip of cloth from her remaining sleeve she tied it around her head to cover her eyes. This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author''s consent. Traveling north they found a major road, to avoid any unwanted attention they slowed to a walk as they followed it and encountered traders, travelers, and refugees along the way. They learned from them that the 3rd Great Shinobi War had been raging for almost the last 2 years. The news shocked them, they were sent 21 years into the past. When they were alone Narumi went from shocked to excited and exclaimed ¡°We can save our families Sasuke! We can prevent the Uchiha massacre and save my parents!¡± She embraced Sasuke in glee on the road side, he awkwardly patted her back before taking the wind out of her sails. ¡°We can¡¯t just show up out of the blue... We need to establish backstories, if we are an unknown Konoha won¡¯t accept us. They may see us as a threat, we need to build a favorable reputation with them first.¡± Calmly interjected Sasuke Narumi sighed, calming down she released Sasuke from her embrace and they continued walking. She then wistfully stated ¡°I understand, we need new identities and a probable origin. Though I don¡¯t know much about my clan, they were erased from Kohona¡¯s records and Jiraiya sensei didn¡¯t say much about them... I would like to visit Uzushiogakure and see if there¡¯s anything still there...¡± ¡±I think that could be worthwhile, but we need some supplies before we make that journey.¡± Sasuke said in agreement, much to Narumi¡¯s surprise. They walked together in silence for a few hours along the fairly busy road until Sasuke suddenly said ¡°I think that it¡¯ll be for the best if we choose new names for ourselves. It¡¯ll be hard enough to speak to our parents and others we knew previously, them calling us by name will make interactions with them... painful.¡± Narumi tilted her head towards him and with a sigh said ¡°Alright, what do you want me to call you from now on?¡± ¡±I¡¯ll go by Sato, Sato Uchiha. One of my clansman by the name of Izu fled during the second great war, I¡¯ll just say I¡¯m her son and that she fled because she was pregnant.¡± ¡°Hmm, ok then Sato Uchiha. You may call me Rina Uzumaki.¡± She said looping her arm through his as they walked. She continued ¡°Let¡¯s live in the moment for now and get used to our new life. All this heavy stuff is kinda depressing, you know?¡± ¡±Ha, I promise.¡± chuckled Sato as they they reached the outskirts of Nochi City. Nochi City ¡°Halt! What business do you have in Nochi City?¡± Demanded a city guardsman as he leveled his spear, keeping an odd couple at a acceptable distance. The two of them¡¯s clothing was torn to shreds, yet no visible injuries aside from the cloth covering the woman¡¯s eyes. The guard¡¯s eyes lingered on her. Long bright red hair to her waist, pale skin, symmetrical face, and a shapely body. ¡®Hmm, it¡¯s a shame she¡¯s blind¡¯ he somberly thought. ¡°Hrrrm¡± The man next to the her cleared his throat drawing the guard¡¯s attention, a frown fixed on his face when he curtly replied ¡°We¡¯re here seeking refuge.¡± ¡°You¡¯re refugees then? Plenty of folks like you pass through here. Let me check something...¡± said the guardsman as he planted his spear into the ground and withdrew a bingo book. He leafed through the pages glancing at the man every now and then. The guardsman didn¡¯t normally pull out the state issued bingo book for wanted criminals and enemies of the state, but he was sure the dark eyed man before him was of the dangerous sort. So to be sure, he checked it for the both of them. With a pop, he closed the book before pocketing it. ¡°Welcome to Nochi City!¡± He cheerfully stated, before waving the couple through the guard post. The guard watched as they walked further into the city until he lost sight of them in the busy street. He turned his head and scanned the crowd until he found who he was looking for, finding him he waved them over. A man that could be described as a stereotypical street thug leisurely made his way over to the guard station. ¡°Yo! You find a good mark?¡± He asked with a cocky smile. ¡°Yeah, two actually... a young man and woman, refugees. The man might put up a fight, he has dark hair and eyes. The woman is a looker with long blood red hair and is blind. I think she might be the type your boss likes.¡± Reported the guard. ¡°Ohh, sounds promising. I¡¯ll arrange for your payment to be left at the usual place once we¡¯re done. See ya!¡± Said the thug cheerfully as he left to gather his crew. .................................................................. ¡°Hmm, we¡¯re being followed.¡± Said Sato in mild amusement. ¡°I know, they¡¯re not exactly subtle...¡± answered Rina as she watched some of the thugs shoulder their way through the crowd behind them with her byakugan. ¡°Lets see what those idiots want from us.¡± Soto calmly said as he steered Rina towards an alleyway. They followed the path around a corner to a dead-end where they calmly waited. After about five minutes ten thugs armed with an assortment of pipes, cheap knives, and a sword rounded the corner with smug smiles and leering grins on their faces. The thug armed with a sword stepped to the front of his gang identifying himself as the leader and said while leering at Rina. ¡°When they said you were a pretty one, they weren¡¯t exaggerating. I think I¡¯ll sell your friend and keep you as my pet.¡± Her pale face flushed with anger, she then said with venom ¡°Slavers then...¡± Sato nodded to her before shooting towards the gang leader who then swung his sword at him, before the blade could complete its ark the gang leader found his wrist in an iron grip. Sato then delivered a swift strike at the man¡¯s extended elbow shattering it before stripping the sword from him. Then in a flash he severed the arms of two thugs attempting to bludgeon him with pipes and planted his new blade into the eye socket of a third. The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. A moment after Sato reached the gang leader, Rina had jumped over him and into the midst of the thugs. She landed on a thug¡¯s head with a powerful stomp and as he crumpled to the ground, she delivered another stomping kick to a surprised thug¡¯s chest sending him flying into another and slamming them both into a wall. With her feet now planted on the ground Rina threw a punch into a short thugs face as he tried to stab her, then twirled to her left to avoid the swing of a pipe and round house kicked another thug¡¯s neck in one smooth motion. She turned toward the now last remaining thug. With his gang destroyed in less than thirty seconds, the man stared wide eyed at the sight before him. His pipe shaking in his grip, he managed to take a step back before a knife sailed through the air and planted itself into his left eye. Rina turned around to see Sato crouched in front of the injured gang leader, he said to the man ¡°Let¡¯s have a little talk...¡± ......................................................... ¡°I¡¯m glad we helped those people, nobody deserves to be sold into slavery.¡± Rina said cheerfully as she walked arm in arm with Sato through the Market district of Nochi City. They freed 15 people that were locked in cages like animals at the gangs base at an abandoned warehouse. The leader was more than willing to provide the location after some ¡°gentle¡± convincing from Sato. They also cleared out the safe that Rina found, they kept enough money to buy what they needed and gave the rest out to the people they saved. The two were making their way to a particular store geared towards ninja or wannabes more often than not. Sato glanced at Rina as they walked, he was still surprised with her. When they were younger he never saw her straight up kill anyone like she did with that slaver gang. He squeezed her arm gently in acknowledgment as they arrived at their destination. A small store front with a worn sign that simply read ¡°Yuwa¡¯s Shadow Sales¡±. They entered and were greeted by the owner, a short wrinkled old man with tanned skin and what seemed a permanent scowl on his face. ¡°You youngsters better have money, if not then get out!¡± He said with annoyance. Rina replied with a laugh ¡°Relax Gramps, we¡¯re paying customers.¡± preventing Sato from giving an angry response by pulling him with her into the maze of shelves. The two re-emerged some time later and placed the items they wished to purchase or the counter. The old man glanced at them in mild surprise, realizing they were the real deal from what they picked out. He was used to local idiots playing dress-up and buying stuff they thought looked ¡°cool¡± or made them look tough. He went and tallied up the items. ¡°2 packs, 2 pouches, 2 belts, a pair of striker gloves, a gray flack vest, medium roll of paper, 4 ink vials, 2 ink brushes, a bundle of kunai, and a spool of wire...¡± the old man muttered to himself as he worked. When he stated his price the woman pulled a wad of cash out of her cleavage and gave him exact change. The shopkeeper, distracted for a moment hurriedly thanked them for their patronage as they left. With packs to place their belongings in, they set out get some new sets of clothes and necessary supplies. Sato bought some grey and white shirts to go under his new flack vest and dark pants, while Rina bought clothes in the style of what she normally wore. She returned to Sato from a changing room wearing a short blue kimono style dress with white wave patterns, a white sash tied around her waist, mesh under shirt, and black shorts. They continued to walk the city buying what they needed until nightfall, spending the last of their funds on a room for the night in a comfy inn at Rina¡¯s insistence. She wanted a private bath, Sato couldn¡¯t really complain. He didn¡¯t like the idea of bathing with strangers at a public bath either.
