《Cold Havoc: Carl, the Destroyer》 Chapter 1: Damned land "Si¨Cgh." Breathing a sigh from atop a stone pillar. Is a young man with features that entranced both genders (especially women) with a beautiful body and a handsome face to boot. If not for the tired and dead look on his eyes, everyone would call him a "Blessed". Clunk The man took away something from his breast pocket and tossed it below. It hit a creature with a small figure covered in scales akin to a lizard walking on two legs. Not a single movement came from the lizard, as though it was dead. Well, looking at the environment it was in, it is strange how a low Fang rankcreature can survive in a place where the weakest monster would be of Disaster rank. Which heroes of a country would require to take down. The man continued to laze around and didn''t notice the small lizard struggling towards the item he nonchalantly threw. It is an orb with a pure black surface that seems to draw the light around the surroundings. The small lizard swallowed the orb whole. A few seconds after swallowing it. The lizard convulsed and then burned by black flames until all that''s left is a dark scorched carcass. "Hmm? That smells like dark magic?" This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there. The man dozing off finally stood up from high up the pillar and looked around. "I didn''t know there is someone still with guts to perform dark magic rituals in the middle of these damned lands." Just as he spoke that. hundreds of gigantic silver tentacles thrashed around his surroundings. He was taken aback a bit, for there is no such creature that approached him for the past day or so. ''How can this thing bypass my detection'' He has a skill ''Existence Detection'' up and always active. A skill that not only detects physical lifeforms, but also ethereal and/or lingering will and souls of the dead. Anything that has an existence would show up in his radar. "This thing... " The massive silver scaled monster is 350 feet tall and each and every tentacle is as thick as the world tree. "G*dzilla?" The silver tentacle shot towards the man. The sheer size of it make him look like a fly about to get squashed. Though the outcome came obviously different. The silver scales that''s stronger than titanium and purple flesh burst around the moment it made impact with the man''s raised fist. "Huwoah¨C skin contact really is unpleasant." His face warped in displeasure. As if he touched trash. Not noticing that the monster howled so loud that other monsters in the vicinity cried wary. The tentacle he blew off has already regenerated. The monster''s unfocused eyes stared at the man''s direction. As if accepting that the man is an enemy. Unfortunately for him. "Demon lord in strength at the least?" The man in front of him view his existence nothing more than a pest. Giant pillars of condensed light came from the skies, as if a revelation from the Gods. Except this time it was used like lasers that danced around the monster at incredible speed. The monster was sliced into gigantic chunks. Then the pillars of light formed into one and eradicated the chunks of flesh into oblivion. The scene afterward reminds one of a wasteland. Leaving an overwhelming sense of dread and fear. "Haa... Crusaders of that crazy church would probably come danger these lands to check what caused their ''God''s Revelation'' huh. Troublesome bunch... " Admist his self monologue. He snapped his fingers like he remembered something important. "Why don''t i visit my human worshippers?" 28st day of the 3rd month. Year 901 of the empire''s calendar. Numerous disasters appeared all around the world. The seal on the most powerful mage that achieved immortality E?d V?rk, Has been undone. Scriptures foretold the movement of the Ancient classInfinity dragon. The church of Cael, god of time and space. Is in turmoil after the unique divine energy was felt by their top individuals. "Ahh.. Cael-sama grieves the ungratefulness of humanity." The graceful and divineappearance of a woman kneeling with a pained expression was enough to make any man feel weak. "Terifa-sama are you all right?" Terifa turned to the young attendant by her side. "I''m happy, since i felt Cael-sama''s glorious divine presence once more." The beautiful smile on her pretty face, makes one wonder if she''s a princess of faraway kingdom. Her beauty might even rival or surpass most princesses even the emperor''s daughter Irena. "Hoh~? I can actually feel cold? I''m surprised i can feel the chill with my resistances." He shrugged off the eerie breeze as he thought of what identity should he use from here on out. "Carl? Although infamous as a destroyer from my excessive actions back then. Carl. Varl. Barl." He tapped his chin deep in thought. Then. "Ah, i know. I shall be known as Carl, the loneadventurer." Chapter 2: Aeristolis summoned Hero/ God "How doiget there though?" A lone man laid sprawled on the grassy fields, Behind him were huge hills filled with greenery. This man is facing a problem with something uncanny. Usually humans troubles over the lack of transport over long distances, especially from one end of the world to another. But this man is troubled on the specific place he should warp to. This person is none other than Carl. "If only i knew the locations of my churches.. Haaa... " He knew the general direction of the churches and heard their locations. But he can''t go to someplace he haven''t been and seen yet. "I also have that option of going to a random country. But i''m not sure if myself is viable there." Countries where the churches of Cael, God of time and space. Do exists. On the offchance that he did went there. The fanatics of other churches would surely feel his presence from ''That'' Barrier. "Goddamn sluts and manhoes playing god." He cursed the countless faces of beings from his memory that reprimanded him on the council. ''Cael-sama, please understand the laws of our council. You just can''t be causing trouble on each of our respective domains.'' ''We acknowledge the fact all of us combined can''t defeat you, but please be humble.'' Constantly nodding his head, all the words from the ''pseudo-holy-lady'' didn''t enter his ears at all. Next thing he knew he was kicked out of the council. ''No use crying over spilt milk now, wish i atleast groped her buttocks'' his thoughts sidetracked from the image of a firm ass attached on a white veiled woman. "Hum... Is Gregor still alive? Then he should be a lord. No, a king by now. My church should be at his country. Though i don''t know the place." Carl scratched his head in irritation. Then a name popped up his head. "Ah! Aeristolis! Let me see... Near that country is the forest of Kom. I should have a small cabin there." The thought of the cabin being in ruins and infested didn''t even cross his mind. Only thoughts of a comfortable house enters his mind. "Maybe i could be an adventurer with an old wooden cabin? That ought to have a plausible backstory."The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. While in the midst of scanning his memories for the specific location of the cabin. "Hmm... What was that country called again? Roland told me something about.. Kingdom. Heroes. Summon?" He finally found the place and activated his All-powerful warp unique to himself and other God of Chaos. * * * "What do you mean!?" Nanya Laplace has been a devout follower of the god Cael and at the same time a diligent princess who will do everything in her power to help her citizens. Today was just another normal day, starting her daily routine as a Hime. Nothing unusual happened until her time on horse-back riding lessons. "What is happening in there Caroline?" She asked her closest attendant with a soft tone befitting her title of ''Gentle Diamond''. "Hime-sama. I myself have no clue on the cause of ruckus inside the castle for i am here beside Hime-sama at all times." ''She''s right. I shouldn''t have asked a pointless question'' Hiding the fact of her slight lack of focus. She coughed and gestured at Caroline. "Let''s go inside i want to know what''s going on." Nanya got off her horse, with the help of the instructor, And strolled back to the castle. The instructor silently guided the gallant and white horse to it''s stable that looks more like a miniature mansion than a dwelling of mounts. "Caroline." "Yes, princess." Replied her while she quickened her pace to walk beside the princess. "Why do you think the guards are avoiding us?" Caroline tilted her head slightly. "I don''t think i understood what you meant?" "Ah. I mean, look at them. Usually they approach to greet me. But now they seem to be keeping their distance, as if hiding something." True to her words. The royal guards stationed at every corner of the castle, avoids getting in the path of the princess and some even change directions when they see her. "If you want we can ask a maid¨C " ¡°Excuse me.¡± Nanya cuts her off by calling out to the guard standing beside a door. (Excusemewtf.png) ¡°Yes, princess.¡± The sounds of the heavy armor when he shifts towards the princess made Nanya disheartened. ¡°It must be tiring to stand for hours in that armor¡¡± Nanya¡¯s gentle and softly alluring voice seems mature contrary to her age of 17. ¡°Thank you for your kindness, princess. But for a royal guard like me, having strength to donn this armor like nothing is required.¡± He bent his back slightly to bow and returned to his position. ¡°Oh my, how reliable.¡± Nanya flashed a smiled that made the guard falter but her next words made him tensed. ¡°Can i ask what is the commotion around here is about?¡± Nanya kept her smile. But the guard isn¡¯t relaxed anymore. Instead he looked troubled. ¡°T-that¡¯s¨C ¡± Before he could speak. A clear voice resounded through the halls. ¡°Princess Nanya.¡± The princess and her attendant looked towards the source of the voice. ¡°Advisor Hardan.¡± Slight wariness passed through Nanya¡¯s pupils. She didn¡¯t know the reason but everytime she sees this man, her senses became alert and call for danger rings in her mind. Although she felt displeased she still needs to maintain proper etiquette. ¡°Good afternoon Sir Hardan.¡± ¡°Good afternoon Hime. if im not mistaken you should be having your mount training.¡± Hardan spoke with unnecessary movements, making Nanya feel even nore eerie. ¡°I decided to end it early because i noticed the ruckus inside the castle.¡± She said while staring straight at the advisor¡¯s eyes. Nanya readied herself to be reprimanded but the next words went against her expectation. ¡°Hmm. That¡¯s perfect, for his majesty has sent me to call for you once your done.¡± Nanya looked beside her at Caroline. She bowed her head. ¡°Let us go Hime-sama.¡± * * * ¡°So.. Is it possible my warp failed?¡± Carl stood. Deep in thought. It¡¯s been several decades since he last used his warp spell. For a human it is possible for their magic to deteriorate if not used for a long time. But for a being like Carl, whose control on magic is Omnipotent. The probability of failure is naturally 0. ¡°Or maybe my poor home has been taken down to build this extravagant¨C ¡± He was about to say warehouse, but the overwhelming size of this place exceeds castles and might be more akin to a temple. ¡®Could it be¡¯ Unfortunately his suspicions was spot on. He used a spell called Eye of God. Allowing him to see the humongous structure built inside the forest of kom. The temple is huge, although a size of a pebble compared to the monster Carl took down earlier. After scanning the whole Temple. He pondered about if he¡¯s going to destroy the temple or erase it from existence. ¡°Can¡¯t believe they stepped over their privilages. Humans doesn¡¯t fail to tick me.¡± The Destroyer Carl¡¯s irritation peaked and was about to summon a black hole when. The tall stone doors pushed aside as the fresh sunlight poured in. ¡®Come to think of it this place is unnaturally lit¡¯ Carl¡¯s eyes wandered on the crystals embedded on the walls and ceiling of the temple. ¡°I-it¡¯s true!¡± The girl who went it exclaimed as he saw Carl¡¯s figure. Carl looked at her and her companions.then their eyes met. The girl issued a bright smile and said. ¡°Welcome summoned hero-sama. My name is Nanya Laplace.¡± Chapter 3: Dummy Hero "My name is Nanya Laplace, 2nd daughter of king Lowen Laplace. Pleased to meet Hero-sama" Carl raised an eyebrow at the sudden introduction of a king''s daughter. His eyes went and scanned the figures clad in armors and lady dressed as servants behind this ''princess''. "A Princess? What is the meaning of this?" Carl''s usual haughty attitude caught up and made the guards tighten their grips and the ladies in waiting gasp. But the princess maintained her smile and spoke: "I understand that hero-sama is confused by his sudden transportation from his world. Let me take the liberty to apologize for the inconvenience that this has brought upon you." Nanya gracefully bowed her head to Carl, which made the people behind her clamor in disturbance. The scene of their princess bowing her head to some unknown human induced shock and headache to her attendants. "Princess?! W-why are you bowing your head to that nameless man!?" The head of the guardsmen exclaimed angrily towards Nanya. But she just responded with a confident tone. "Why, you ask? Of course, because hero-sama had been summoned here against his own will and we have an obligation to take responsibility for his well-being." Nanya turned her head to Carl and smiled. Which he returned with curiosity in his eyes. "A summoned Hero, huh?" He rummaged through the deep memory of his for information on summoned heroes in different timelines. Hero summoning. An act, a ritual. Where a country sacrifices something to the God of time and space, Cael. To bring forth a being with limitless potential to become strong. Unlike normal inhabitants of this world. Those who came from the rift that Cael made is 20 times faster in getting strong synchronized with their limitless potential. Heroes like these made for a trump card, superpower. But more than often they used them for times of great calamity, like demon lords. Carl''s memories bumped into an interesting information about summoned heroes. They all have something in common, that is. The love for ''Fantasy''. Once summoned, they undergo the basic training and subjugation of low-ranked monsters for their quick growth. The last time that summoning magic is at it''s abudance was the time of the ''32 Demon lords of Chaos''. The god of chaos, Bargon created these 32 beings with unparalleled power with thoughts of destruction in mind. Reading on this site? This novel is published elsewhere. The church of Cael, god of time and space. Whose power is dwindling by the lack of followers, revealed something to the world. "Our most supreme being, Cael-sama made a revelation." Spoke the top holy woman of the church. She revealed that each country can make an offering to their god Cael, and in exchange gain an enough power to stop the march of the Demon Lords. At first the human world was suspicious, councils of the human society believed that this was nothing more than madness of lunatics who''s terrified by the upcoming end of the world. But one of those countries tried the said method out of sheer desperation. That country is a vanguard and at the most forefront of the war. So they thought they had nothing to lose and heeds the words of the church. To their surprise the summoning worked, at the cost of the youngest child of royalty. A young man appeared on the shrine appearing confused. At the start, the king was enraged, felt that he was cheated and tricked of his own son''s life. But soon the summoned Hero proved his worth. He rallied the country''s soldiers and took the 30th demon lord''s siege head on. The outcome of this was the beheading of the enemy general. Demon Lord Ooka has fallen and the demon''s forces was in turmoil after the death of their leader. This led to the other countries believing the church, and each of them initiated their own summoning. ''If i think back about it. That was some unpleasant memory, i can''t fathom how much concubines human kings have, to make 10,000 offerings.'' Carl returned back to the present situation with a handful of useful information in his mind. "T-thank you for your consideration." Carl appeared as flustered as possible, to give the impression of a naive boy lost in place. "It''s nothing to fret over. If i may, could i ask hero-sama''s name?" Carl put up a nervous smile and said: "M-my name is Kaguya Kazuto." Nanya seemed pleased as she took Carl''s hands and grinned widely. "Well then, hero-sama. Let us go to the castle for your official appearance." Carl smiled faintly. "Y-yes." At the same time as he spoke those words his shadow moved and disappeared alltogether before being replaced by another shadow. Nobody noticed this strange phenomenon and nobody in this place has qualifications to identify the Shadow magic of a chaos god. The shadow materialized just outside the giant temple. Casting invisibility on himself, Carl stood beside a tree as he watched the ''other'' him, being taken away by the princess and her lackeys. "Well then, how should i go from here on out?" He already confirmed the location of his Church and the name of this temple built atop his old home. "High Temple of Cael... I don''t know why they decided to bury the forest for a giant structure like this. But, I''ll make sure to pay the little shits who did a visit." Cael checked the entirety of the forest using God''s Eye. Only one thing remains for him to know. he turned to the princess and asked. "Princess, does this ''world'' has an adventurer''s guild or something similar?" Nanya twitched by the sudden question. The hero beside her has been quiet all this time, looking nervously left and right, now he asked a question as if he made up his mind. "Of course hero-sama. Aeristolis shelters the 2nd largest Adventuring guild in the world, and also It''s guildmaster that is an S-Class legend whose prestige is known around the globe!" Nanya puffed her chest proudly and her graceful appearance crumbled for a moment, seconds before she realizes her blunder. "cough! That said, why does hero-sama want to know?" Nanya turned to the quiet ''Kaguya''. He stared at empty air for a second before replying. "Ahh.. Back in my world i always dreamt of becoming an adventurer, travelling around the world, defeating evil monsters.. ¨C" ''Saving the princess'' ''Kaguya'' felt awkward saying that in front of a real breathing princess so he just turned and straightly asked. "Where is the adventurer''s guild?" Nanya''s head tilted in confusion by the hero''s words. "Umm.. The guild is large and conspicuous you can get a glimpse of it from afar in the capital." "The capital... Huh.. " ''Kaguya'' the hero stared off into space again before cheerfully smiling at the princess. "Thank you for telling me!" The Goofy smile of ''kaguya'' and the sudden silence afterwards made Nanya curious if heroes from another world was always this peculiar. On the other hand. Carl flew leisurely at the level of the treetops towards the kingdom of Aeristolis. He listed the things to take care of before playing around as an adventurer. ''I''ll make a full Homunculi later and imbed the memories of ''Kaguya Kazuto'' into it. Of course such things as own self and consciousness would be blur, but he should be able to appear perfectly human to others. Kaguya Kazuto is a name of a summoned hero Carl met while his time role playing as the Chaos God. An unfortunate young lad that was forced to the front lines in hopes of him achieving victory and glory. The country where he was summoned was in one of the frontlines of the battlefield. ''If i remember correctly, the 2nd seat demon lord done him in.'' He didn''t stood a chance against a demon lord holding one of the 10 seats. At that time Carl was roaming the battlefield possessing demons after demons. But he saw an interesting figure of that of a young man, saving his comrades neglecting his own self. He didn''t even flinched when he came to save a comrade from a Catastrophe class demon when he himself isn''t even a match against a weaker one. "Ahh, i thought it was a good idea giving him a glimpse of the enemy leader before he died." Reminiscent of his deed, boosting the power of several broken-willed human soldiers to break through the lines. This has let them charge through the demon encampment where a haughty busty lady with brutally curled horns awaits. A pretty face distorted in displeasure entered Carl''s mind. "Maybe i went too far at that time." Let pasts be bygones, his motto. Surely she wouldn''t despise her creator wouldn''t she? Carl was in doubts, not sure what lurks in the heart of the demon lords he created. Kaguya Kazuto died by the hands of a pretty lady. Sure he was satisfied, thought Carl. He felt somewhat responsible for the untimely death of that young man. So He ate his soul so it doesn''t enter the circle of reincarnation and stored his memories in itself. So that he would be brought back to life with full memories intact. Carl did decide to erase the memories of his past after the summoning. Troublesome emotions would only remain if he lingers on blank regrets after all. The time for Kaguya''s resurrection has come. ''I plan to put minimal amount of will, so it doesn''t come haunting me afterwards.'' The appearance of the ''Kaguya kazuto'' now is the face Carl has been using for the last decade or so. "Which means i should change this face now." The space around Carl distorted and thick shadows covered his figure. His black and rich hair was replaced with a thin blonde color. His eyes which naturally holds a gentle look became more timid. "Aren''t i becoming more of a prince with this look?" Carl scoffed at his own changes and finished the transfiguration. Now his face is done, he should be speeding up towards the capital. Carl used a spell and his figure disappeared completely while the winds ahead sharply roared by the pressure of the air splitting speed that passed them. "I have arrived... " The hero Kaguya kazuto mumbled something making Nanya turn her head to the side. "Is the carriage comfortable for you hero-sama?" Nanya asked, which Kaguya responded by saying. "I am fine, princess. May i ask when will we arrive at the capital?" Familiarity could be felt from the way Kaguya talked to the princess. This made her attendants grit their teeth in discomfort. But the princess herself doesn''t seem to mind. Instead she was happy that the first Hero she had met is a gentle, kind and friendly person. "Yes! We''ll be arriving at the capital within a day." Chapter 4: a Good person, Cruel demon The city of Fandra is well-known not only for it''s sturdy walls that withstood invasions but also the commerce and economic value it holds towards the country. The kingdom of Aeristolis is placed in between two neighbouring countries. One of them which is a Vanguard country for any demonic invasions. So naturally their military would be top-tiered compared to those behind them. Normally nothing worth of notice happens in between these human countries. But sometimes there are those on the top who ambitiously crave for more than they can take. Whenever these kind of persons come to power they try to invade Aeristolis and claim it as their rightful land as humanity''s vanguard. Only one thing stood in their way, and that is the impregnable fortress Fandra. Years of sieges and battles led them to admit failure and go back to their lands. Fandra became a well known historical memento after many years. The high fortress walls had been fortified and lengthened by the order of the king. The land which Fandra has jurisdiction on became 10 times as large, making it the size of an average city. Encampments of refugees has been replaced by Inns and barracks replaced by the city office. From rations of soldiers to restaurant and stalls with food for the poor and wealthy. The fortress transformed into a full fledged city in more than ways than you might think. At the foot of the lengthy walls, an unknown phenomenon took place. The air and space violently distorted as a mini explosion occured in it''s vicinity. A figure of a man tapping his boot on the ground materialized. "Hmm.. This is the thing blocking the way?" Carl looked for any way around the obstacle he saw from afar but it looks like these walls extends as far as the monster boundary. ''If i can, I''d like to avoid destroying unsuspecting beasts'' The speed which Carl has been going at has enough force to rip through the air and space itself. Naturally any living being would get shredded to pieces just by him passing it. "Now where exactly is the entrance to this thing?" Stolen novel; please report. He avoided populated areas by far, but it looks like he arrived at human territories. ''I could always jump through these walls.'' The 40 feet high talls pose no problem for Carl, but he also curious as to what place this is. "Then¨C " Carl moved to turn around. Then a rustling from bushes entered his ear. ''Hmm?'' Carl used God''s eye and saw the figure of a young boy around 15 or 16 peeking at his direction. Carl grinned. ''Ah, The first human i will meet.'' He decided to give the human child a little scare by transforming into a demon but. ''What''s this? Another child?'' Behind the boy is an unmoving figure of a girl laying beside a tree, panting heavily. God''s eye revealed that the girl''s life is at the verge of being extinguished. Carl''s face stiffened. "You there." The boy jolted in surprise by Carl''s call. He briefly froze in place and stared at Carl with vigilance. "I don''t know who''s there but if you''re not a monster or a bandit then come out here." As if he''s convinced that Carl is just aware of a potential enemy. The boy decided to reveal himself. "I, i am not an enemy." The boy walked out from the bushes. Now that he is plain sight, Carl could see his outfit and equipments. A wrung out leather vest and pants stacked with Leather knee pads. On his head is an iron helmet strapped around his chin. Carl silently praised his equipment, a standard must-equipment that every newbie adventurer should follow. Like some certain G*Slayer said, "cool appearances doesn''t save your life. Proper equipment does." Carl could faintly remember the obsession of that person from killing one type of monster over and over again. "What are you doing there?" Carl asked. Pretending to be wary of the boy in front of him. Seeing this the boy spoke: "I am just looking for the entrance to the walls just like you but i became lost." Carl sensed the urgency in the boy''s tone and the rough breathing in the background. "Are you with someone?" Carl''s question made the boy purse his lips, his eyes went from side to side as he sweated profusely. "I, i am alo¨C " "Cough! Cough!!" The hoarse cough from the girl broke the silent atmosphere and the boy immediately jumped to her side without hesitation. "Irra!" "Cough!! Cough!!!" The coughing became more severe. It looks like she is holding her chest tight to prevent her from being discovered. "It looks like this girl is in a serious predicament?" Carl slowly walked towards the two. The boy maintained vigilance on him but he is too focused on tending to the suffering girl. "Do you need any help?" Like a saviour, or a devil. Carl offered a hand with a gentle smile on his face. There was an audible sound of teeth grinding, and the boy turned nervously to Carl. "P, please save her." Carl nodded and kneeled beside the girl. "Hmm? This is a Frosoc poison, she got less than an hour before dying at this point." Stung by this frog-like monster, anyone would be normally unresponsive. Carl pointed out his observations and this made the boy''s shoulders quake in fear. "T, that c-can you save her?" "Of course." Carl reached into his pocket and a piece of leaf materialized in his hand. He crumpled the leaf in his hand and rubbed it on the place where the wound is. A small light appeared on top of the wound and the crumbled pieces of leaves disappeared on top of the skin. Of course the leaf didn''t have any healing properties whatsoever. It was just a leaf. Carl healed the girl by returning her body to her most healthy state. A glint of a blade reflected in Carl''s eyes. The cold edge is pressed onto his skin, despite that he doesn''t look fazed instead felt intrigued and curiosity. ''Hmm, what''s this?'' Carl remained stiff and tilted his head ever so slightly. "Get away from her, now!" The trembling and nervous voice from before couldn''t be seen. Instead replaced by the cold eyes filled with hostility towards Carl. "What are you doing, may i ask?" Carl knew the inside and out of a human''s mind and emotions. But it still surprises him how humans could have such unpredictability. "Now you saw her face and touched her body, i have no choice but to silence you. I recognize those disgusting eyes that''s mocking us." "I don''t know what you''re planning but unfortunately for you i will end it here." The boy twisted his blade across Carl''s neck in a swift motion. Carl''s head fell silently to the floor but the smile and gentle eyes of his still isn''t gone. The boy looked at the decapitated head in disgust. He felt eerie at the same time when he heard a gentle voice from behind. "Hmm, but why would you kill ''That'' poor girl?" The boy felt an ominous premonition as he turned around. Chapter 5: Mind break His head began turning slowly, he can''t move or do anything as if something was in control of his body. The trembling stopped when he met a pair of eyes filled with shock. Blood pooled from where the decapitated head laid. At that moment the boy''s mind went blank. He ran towards her, the person he had commited to protecting with his life. His shaking knees made him stumble a few times. Finally arriving at the lifeless corpse of the girl he let out an unintelligent cry. "AAAAAAHHH!!" "My, what do we have here?" The familiar soft voice from earlier now sounded like the devil''s laughter to his ears. He turned towards Carl and shouted. "WAHT N YU DO!?!" The boy hugged the still warm body of the girl closer to him. he glared at Carl with teary eyes. "What i did, you ask? But i haven''t done anything at all. Isn''t it all you making a move?" The boy briefly recalled his actions. He unsheated his blade and unhesitatingly try to take the life of the man in front of him. But instead it was Irra whom was beheaded. The boy sat lifelessly, staring at the head of the beautiful girl that he is used to seeing since the day he was born. "Such a pity sight." At those words his heart thorned and was filled with hatred. He regained a little bit of sanity and charged at Carl with his sword. Carl didn''t try to dodge or block, instead he opened his arms and took the blade. The slash connected and blood spurted like a fountain in front of the boy''s vision. "U, uu¨Cugh.. " Carl''s figure shrunk and transformed into the shocked face of the girl who was supposed to be dead. The boy''s vision quaked as he screamed in frustration. "A, AAHHHHH!!" He stepped forward to try and catch the falling body of the girl. If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. "¨Csan." "Ni¨C " "Nii-san wake up!" His body jolted awake and the face most familiar with him entered his eyes. "Irra." He tried to hug the girl in front of him but his brain screamed in pain. Cold sweat poured down his back with his eyes quivering and unfocused. "Nii-san are you okay?" Irra looked at him worriedly. The sound of someone gasping for air deemed audible in the silent atmosphere. Finally the boy''s vision readjusted and he can see clearly now. "Irra, what happened?" "Ah! Nii-san you suddenly lost consciousness after bringing me to the walls. I got so worried, Hup¨C !" Before Irra could finish her words, she was embraced tightly. The arms and head that''s on her seems shaking so she frowned in dissatisfaction. "Nii-san! You should tell me if something is wrong. Really, how would i help you in any case?" Irra grumbled but she let her ''Nii-san'' embrace him more. "I, i thought you were gone. I, i dreamt of a m, man¨C a d-demon. He made me kill you, y, you died by my own hands... " The last bit of his words sounded faint to Irra but he heard the part about him dreaming of a man. "Ah! Nii-san did you mean him?" Irra pointed to a direction. She smiled energetically when she waved at the ''man''. Irra seems to be a good mood. But the boy, was strucked with fear. The smiling face of the man looks the same as his dream. He immediately stood up and went in front of Irra, to protect her. "You! What did you do to me?" Carl''s face had a ''I''m innocent'' written on it. he stared blankly at the boy that''s glaring at him with hostility tinted in terror. "Nii-san what are you doing? The boy reached for his weapon in it''s scabbard. He barely lifted the sword before slipping off from the massive trembling of his fingers. Carl watched this scene with a peaceful expression. But contrary to the outside. His inner self is in turmoil. ''Crap i didn''t know that the ''price'' the succubus queen demands is a nightmare from a person'' When Carl used his healing magic on the girl he saw some disturbing things in her mind that his power cannot erase. So for the sake of her recovery, Carl decided to ask for the experts on dreams, the creatures ''succubus'' he made for help. The only mistake he did is that he didn''t specify who to call and just connected himself to the demon realm. He didn''t know what transpired inside the nightmare but it seems like himself is a bad one in the boy''s eyes. ''If only i can use dream magic i won''t need the goddamn help of this noisy bitch'' "Oh my, but didn''t i save father from being beheaded? Didn''t you see that foolish boy''s delusions on killing you?" ''You know he can''t hurt me yet you still went and did unnecessary actions.'' ''Did i make father angry? Oh my, i''m so soorry.. Next time you should have¨C '' ''Shut up, Succubus queen Harloys.'' The dark and deep tone that seems to revebrate from the abyss made the Succubus queen Harloys feign docility. ''Yes, master'' The voice of the Chaos god that Carl used has the effect of complete submission from any being that sides with Chaos. Monsters or Demons. ''Go back to your realm. remember next time not to heed my call and send somebody else to me.'' Harloy''s figure bowing, briefly appeared in Carl''s vision before disappearing in a blur. "Nii-san what is happening with you?" His brother isn''t listening to him, instead his eyes are affixed on Carl. "Irra.. " "Huh, what?" "Run. Run as faraway as you can." "What!?" Irra raised her voice in confusion by the words of her brother. "What are you saying? Why will i run when Ni¨C " "Irra, that isn''t someone we can defeat." ''Now he''s just spouting nonsense'' Irra turned to the man who had saved and healed her. He leisurely nodded and smiled at the two. "Nii-san come on! Get a grip of yourself! Can''t you see you''re being rude to the guy who helped us?" His brother twitched at the word help. "H, help? You said help... " "You will die and i can''t do anything... I can''t help.. " Slap! The loud sound of her palm hitting flesh made the birds and critters startled by the broken silence. "Nii-san... Why are you like this? I have never seen you act like this for the past years we''ve been together. Please do not make me embarass myself more than necessary." Those words poured down the boy like cold water because his mind is now crystal clear by the light shock from the slap. "Irra, I.. " He turned towards the man whom embedded him with a deep fear. He never felt fear like this before, his instincts are screaming for him to run, but the duty of being a brother strongly stomps that desire. "Sorry, Irra." Irra''s eyes sparkled by the light of sanity returning to his brother''s eyes. He stood up and trotted towards Carl. "Excuse me sir Carl." The boy almost instinctively ran to grab her sister but he resisted the impulse, he might only get hated more at this point. "Yes?" Replied Carl while combing his fingers through his blonde hair. "Would you like to come together going in the city?" Carl stood up casually. "Of course." Irra turned to go back to his brother when Carl asked. "By the way what''s the name of your brother?" Irra rotated to face Carl again and cheerfully spoke. "Ah! I forgot to tell you. His name is Artur." Chapter 5.5: Carl and Irras talk "C, can i ask a question?" "Hmm, sure go ahead." Carl briefly nodded at Irra''s hesitating words. "A, are you really the one who healed my wound?" She asked the most obvious question that Carl guessed she would. "Hmm yes, i saw your brother behind some bushes when i was walking beside the walls." "He looked really worried and nervous so i asked what''s wrong. Then i saw you in a near-death state. because i luckily have some high grade medicine with me, i was able to save you." Carl gave a clear explanation without cutting corners. Of course the part about a high grade medicine was obviously a lie. "A, amazing... " To Irra''s mumbling, Carl asked. "What is?" She fidgeted nervously before speaking. "Y, you used a high grade medicine for a stranger you just met a, and on top f'' that you did so w, without hesitation... " Carl hmmed as he stared blankly at the girl whose head is lowered. ''If only she isn''t so gloomy she''d be as pretty as that princess.'' The princess who is sleeping inside the carriage entered Carl''s vision. Through Kaguya''s body he played a prank by making the earth tremble a bit under the road they''re taking. The princess jolted awake with drool still dripping from her lips.If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. ''So unprincess like.'' But the fact of her beauty is an evidence of a bloodline. "C, can i ask one last question?" "Sure, go ahead." "I, i''m sorry for being rude to my savior but what will you ask in return." Irra''s eyes clouded with vigilance. Carl''s next words may very well end up having him marked as a criminal as before he even arrive in human society. Carl erased his smile and answered in a serious tone. "My knowledge and information about the hu- er, cities are greatly outdated. It could be fatally dangerous going around without being informed. Since i could be making enemy around the city without me knowing anything. So, i''ll let you two help me with that." "Are you perhaps raised far away from civilization?" The young looks from Carl and his lack of knowledge on human society could only look like someone that grew in a closed off country. Moreover Carl looked like a foreign prince so Irra had the urge to pry on. "By any chance.. Are you a prince from a fallen country?" Carl heard the faint ''as well'' at her words. He sensed expectation from her question. "Shouldn''t you be avoiding prying into the life of someone who saved you." Irra lightly gasped at his words, but she regained composure and became less wary than before. Her eyes cleared with some doubts as if she come to a conclusion. ''Well, whatever she thinks it would be more easy for me.'' "Thank you for saving me." "I still need compensation for that high grade medicine though. Since i won''t know the price it have in the market today, it is up to you if you will try to trick me or not." Carl said words to reassure her of his intentions clearly. Though it seemed intimidating, Irra responded brightly and saying: "Of course, we won''t even think of deceiving our saviour.. Umm.. " "What is it?" "C, could i ask for saviour''s name?" Irra asked hesitatingly. "It''s Carl. I''m a lone adventurer." "I see." "May i inquire on one last thing?" Carl thought it wasn''t so bad to converse with a human for a bit. So he replied. "Sure." He was wrong though. Their conversation soon turned to a lengthened story telling. "You know, Nii-san always scolds me whenever i play with the horses. He says that it isn''t suitable for a lady but my dream is actually to ride my own horse someday going with Nii-san on a journey¨C " Irra became more talkative and her wariness of Carl disappeared like dust. The long narration that sounded more like endless complaints made Carl refreshed. As humans they live short lives and always seek thrill and new things. The lack of boredom in their lives is what made Carl like humanity. To the point of making enemy of the other gods and turning into a Chaos god. "Can i ask one last question, please?" Carl can''t remember how many times he have heard that phrase but he still smiled and ushered her to go on. "Um, why did sir Carl decided to be an adventurer? Isn''t being an adventurer full of risks? Why not stay comfortable at your own home." Carl inwardly grinned. For this situation he already had an answer ready. "I once had a home, and i was planning to settle down there until recently. But somebody took over the land which it stood and destroyed my humble house. Thus i decided to become an adventurer to somehow earn enough for a new house." Carl told his made up backstory, but somehow Irra fell silent. "Umm, I''m sorry i asked. It''s surely tough losing your home." Irra spoke with heavy feelings, as if he experienced a same thing on her own. "Don''t be down, i could have choosed not to tell you but i saw the cheerful aura you had and it affected me." "Be sure to smile or else you''ll be affecting those around you with your gloom." Carl caught a glimpse of a single tear that formed on Irra''s crystal eyes. She stood up and puffed her chest. "Yes! I will heed your advice!" It was then that the unconscious Artur shuffled awake. "Nii-san!" Irra rushed to his side and Carl sat on spot.
