    In a town called, Shenjeng, on a lot of dry patchy fields, a young boy was working without much rest for a whole two days. The town has been suffering from drought for two years in a row, and no amount of effort put by the boy could help this field regain its vitality.


    His sweaty body was covered in mud as he laid down on the ground for a quick break, his chest huffing and puffing, trying to catch a breath.moistening his throat that has become dry from dehydration.


    Maybe for some, his action in the face of adversity may look heroic; but for most people in Shenjeng, his actions were ridiculous. Chen Yang didn''t care though, his face which used to be as white as snow was now tanned from the glaring sun, and even his innocent and energetic eyes have grown dull. He simply laid there, gulping forcefully in hope of moistening his throat that has become dry from dehydration


    Chen Yang who turns ten years old this month was originally from a rich family back in Xinhua.


    His father was a merchant and his mother died during his birth, Chen Yang father sold beauty potions for old ladies in the castles, among other products from cities to towns


    This led to Chen yang experiencing frequent home shifts, this time he was leaving Kenkau after living there for two years.

    "Where is he? We have to kill him before night otherwise there would no meal for us", said a voice echoing in the forest, as another voice replied " quick let''s hurry and not waste time


    "Run away my child or else they will kill you too", said his father, then from his pouch he slowly took out a wood piece with the image of a map with some characters on it. He placed it in Chen Yang hands and told him that the piece of wood was from Xham Chen, a friend who was like a brother to him when he was younger.


    " I''m sure he can raise you to be a fine young man ", he said as he coughed a mouthful of blood, he then ordered him to run away to follow the road which also leads to Shenjeng.


    " Dear Chen I''ve got not much time left in the world and please remember that your father always loves you"


    and then he caressed the amulet one last time and put the amulet in Chen Yang hand and said that I should always wear it. I should never lose it and then father passed away then I buried him in the forest right under mangrove tree and kowtowed three times and escaped from there.


    Chen Yang still remembered that day clearly. He sighed as he cleared the tears with his small hands from his eyes and then he took amulet from his inner clothes and closely studied it. It was a star-shaped amulet father said to wear this always so he will.then he slowly hid it under the clothes and then suddenly a foot kicked Chen Yang out of his daze.


    "Ouch!"


    Chen Yang said as he looked up, it was Xie Hung the eldest son of uncle Xham Chen. He still remembered that day when his father said to go to his old friend, but upon arriving Xham Chen treated coldly towards him and Chen Yang was made to slave away in the fields that are dry because of drought;furthermore, his sons always bullied him upon arriving here and if he ever tried to talk back they will whip him.


    "Why aren''t you working you freeloader,"


    Xie Hung said with a cold look in his eyes and then beat Chen yang furiously and then spat on him and then berated him saying trash that can''t even plow properly father should never have taken you. To Chen Yang, though this became so regular to him so he knew if he ever tried to talk back he will beat him more. So Chen Yang always silently endured.


    As Xie Hung is beating Chen Yang, a hard metal stuck to his feet; Xie Hung carefully looked towards Chen Yang then.


    Xie hung shuffled through Chen Yang clothes and he took the amulet and inspected closely and it looked expensive he whistled and thought he can probably sell it for a fair amount of price and then beat Chen Yang more till he was bruised and almost unconscious and then got ready to leave.


    Chen Yang almost unconscious somehow managed strength enough to hold on Xie Hung leg and pleaded "please anything but that amulet" he said. This only strengthened Xie Hung suspicion that this amulet must be expensive.


    He smirked and said "you, you must have stolen it you wretch see how I''ll beat you"


    then he whipped him some more and said " remember kid strong always prey on weak such is the way of heaven you understand " and then he left whistling.


    Xie Hung could never imagine that this sentence will be the pathway to prominence for the Chen yang but for now, Chen yang lied there unconsciously.

 Chapter 2: Whove disturbed my slumber!(part 1)

    Chen Yang got up from the ground, injured, his body full of bruises and injuries. Chen Yang tried to clear of dust and mud stuck in his clothes but it never seems to go away.


    "ah!"


    Chen Yang cried from as his back is covered with blood pouring down and bruises because of the whipping.

    They were hiding in a cave. I was crying out loud that time just like this time but then he suddenly grabbed me and hugged me and said


    "My child if you''ve ever come across a situation which seems impossible and insurmountable to do promise me, promise to stay alive "


    then he remembered Xie Hung saying " remember kid strong always prey on weak such is the way of heaven " as he remembered this with determined eyes he took the foot from air into the ground.

    Suddenly rain started pouring down heavily. Now that his heart has been cleared, he should go back get back his amulet from that jerk before he sells it,


    but if he objects now. Cold look appeared in Chen Yang eyes this time there will be dire consequences for him that would make him wish if he were to die instead.

 Chapter 3: Whove disturbed my slumber!(part2)

    "A-Ah it hurts! ouch "


    Chen Yang said as he opened his eyes. All Chen Yang could see was the ceiling in which, where water droplets are falling onto his body, as Chen Yang tried to look around by moving his neck sideways a beautiful lake entered his vision.


    It looked like Chen Yang was washed up ashore from well to this cave, Chen Yang seriously wondered how he was still alive. He gathered his thoughts and tried to muster enough strength to sit straight up " huff huff I-I can''t get upppp! huff huff " Chen Yang couldn''t even sit straight up.


    Chen Yang noticed his eyes becoming blurry; his voice dry, his clothes are completely drenched in water; his body becoming cold Chen Yang started shivering it is so cold right now that he can''t even feel his own body, his wounds when he was whipped by Xie Hung stings like hell!


    As Chen Yang was wondering whether he can survive this ordeal. Then Chen Yang remembered his father Hao Hen, then Chen Yang remembered his promise and said to himself that he will remain alive no matter what!


    Chen Yang tried to crawl himself out of shore and go into more dry place, after about 10 minutes of crawling he found a little hole on the side of a wall where he can fit into to. Chen Yang got in that hole because his body is so small, It is important to keep in mind that no other adult can do that, Chen Yang got into this hole because he was a child.


    Chen Yang felt dizzy after all he had to go through basically in one day, It is quite taxing to the child''s body after all. Chen Yang thought maybe I should sleep for little while then, he slowly slipped into dreamland.


    Sometime later.


    "Huuuh huff huff "Chen Yang got up, he had a nightmare. Chen Yang slowly tried to sit up "ouch!" his head hit the ceiling of that little hole, then he slowly got out of the hole and started walking, It''s his first time ever seeing the cave in its full glory.


    It looks cave has a waterfall in which he was washed up ashore. The cave was fairly well lit, Chen Yang didn''t know where the light is coming from, but It''s lighting up the cave. Chen Yang was still little dizzy in the head, but he felt much better.

    As Childlike wonder overcame him, Chen Yang started to walk and explore the cave. The cave was big. As Chen Yang traveled he saw various things like a chest with treasures; swords and spears, writings on the wall; but the most frightening thing Chen Yang saw was human skeletons.


    Chen Yang knew this was suicide well so he should have expected that but, still seeing those human skeleton''s frightened him this child''s soul.


    Chen Yang continued to stroll throughout the cave for a long time. Chen Yang stomach grumbled as he felt hungry he tried to search for food, there was no food available then found that in this cave there was another cave inside of this cave which goes even deeper inside.


    Chen Yang gathered his courage got inside of that cave, It seems to be the direction which the light comes from so that must be an exit point thought Chen Yang.


    As Chen Yang walked for a long long time he''s getting tired; maybe I should rest for a little while Chen Yang thought.No I''ll just walk for a little then rest He said to himself, then as he walked light is getting bigger this gave Chen Yang motivation for to walk faster.


    Then suddenly the cave trembled as a roaring voice echoed throughout the cave"Who''ve come to disturb my slumber?! Which rut got in this time huh?" an elderly voice rumbled throughout the cave.


    Chen yang face paled upon hearing this voice. It seems the story about Immortal is correct, he should hurry and escape as thought to himself he turned back.


    Then there he saw an old man with his cold look in his eyes examining him,It''s as if his gaze can see through everything for a ten-year-old this first time seeing an immortal in his life ,he looked like a humongous mountain that can never be surpassed but just looked at and marvel at its grandeur.


    Then the old immortal smirked a little, then he spoke with a light voice "to come upon this wretched place, what fate has befallen you young child?" his voice smooth but weak, the old immortal wore simple silk shirt and silk pants. His face looked rough probably because of all the time inside of the cave, He looked tall; back straight, stern eyes.


    Chen yang looked in daze for a full second before answering"Immortal one this one''s name is Chen Yang;10 years old,I accidentally fell into the cave,I seek your assistance in getting out of this cave and enter into human society"Chen yang thought although not perfect, the etiquette classes that he had when he was child helped him.


    Then the old Immortal said "Hoh you speak well for your age boy;" he said as creased his eyes "but why should I help you boy" you know before you come before not one left alive, then why do you think you will be any different?


    Chen yang gathered his courage up his chest and said: "This little one believes in fate, I meeting you here must be my fate even though I am now incapable but if I become capable enough then I will follow whatever request you have."


    "hoh quite a brave one you are, but to put yourself in a position to fulfill my request is an insult to me," he said in a stern voice " but since you are quite a brave one I do wish to give you chance. Hmm, what should I do? old Immortal said to himself as he put his hand on the chin then suddenly light filled his eyes as he said this "Okay let''s play a game where the gamble is if I lose I will fulfill one of your requests"


    Chen Yang then thought it seriously for a while and then a doubt was raised in Chen Yang mind and he said "What happens if I lose?


    To that question, old immortal smirked seeing that smirk Chen Yang had goosebumps all over his body and then he heard


    "It''s simple you die."

 Chapter 4: How dying is making the world a better place

    In the black forest near the Shenjeng town. It is said that there was a suicide well in which hundreds of thousands of people said to have committed suicide,even greatest of the great cannot the survive this,It is said that not even Immortals can survive it,


    However on this day deep within the well;in that cave there are two people staring at each other, as there was silence between two.


    Chen yang broke the silence "gamble, I die? haha, surely mister Immortal is joking how could this lowly mortal gamble with you, I do not have this courage." Chen yang despite being a child of ten years old understood how peculiar his situation is, his aunt Yamaoka from neighborhood house used to tell him stories about how Immortal can fly, slay evil people how they are like gods to our mortals; so Chen yang had nothing but admiration, respect and little bit of fear in front of this old Immortal.


    The old Immortal who looked at Chen yang suddenly sighed and muttered " you pathetic little runt who can''t even gamble a little deserves no space in this cave prepare to end your life" suddenly the old immortal right hand appeared out of nowhere grabbed onto Chen yang neck.


    Chen yang face paled about on seeing these he couldn''t even move an inch because of unshakable fear he had, nothing he had ever seen in this life is comparable to this unimaginable fear, with great determination he was able to say "Mister Immortal please spare my life whatever gamble you want to play ,I agree!"


    The hand that placed on his neck suddenly disappeared Chen yang who was in the air fell into the ground. Then the old immortal smirked and said "haha you have good sense, very good decision-making skills"


    Chen yang thought yeah right! maybe if you didn''t try to kill me you fucking old geezer as he tried to get up on the ground trying to wipe dust off his clothes. " To that old immortal smirked and said "Oh! that''s sad but you know my friends always say useless people have no place in this world, and you know ones who come before you they were quite useless so, they died! as they say, useless people dying makes the world a better place."


    Chen yang felt chills in his back''; his whole life flashed before him, he didn''t want to die; at least not before his revenge, then he gathered his courage and asked "Mister immortal can you promise me that if I die, can you fulfill my request ?" Chen Yang said with pleading eyes, but "useless people should have no ambition for they cannot fulfill one; to fulfill your wishes you have to be one doing it." The old immortal disagreed.


    Chen yang took the pill from old immortal hands and examined it was in saffron color. It gave off a certain medicine smell, as old immortal looked at him, he carefully put the pill in his mouth and swallowed it. Then some time passed "huh it had no effect does that mean I pass?" Chen Yang said as he looked at old Immortal.


    The old immortal smile widened "Ho ho you''re just starting my boy you have no idea what is going on right now do you?" as he said this Chen yang face turned purple he fell on the spot his heart started beating slower his eyes started to dim he experienced this hell for 5 minutes, then the pain slowly subsided.


    Chen Yang eyes got redder he gritted his teeth and said "you, you old bastard! what did you do to me?"


    To this old immortal snickered and said: "First and foremost let me introduce myself to you, I am Tang Tenshin, I was the patriarch of Devil sect and from now on you are my disciple, you will enact revenge upon whoever destroyed our devil sect bring peace to your elder souls." The old immortal got emotional as he said this.

    Then Tang Tenshin said, "if you can''t even achieve a small success stage then maybe the world will be a better place without you."
