《World apocalypse》 Chapter1:How it all began Chapter 1 I could somehow comprehend my situation was not the best right now All and all the best way to describe the situation was a total mess The scene I was witnessing was something that looked straight out of some Hollywood movie Gore was the main theme, all around was mayhem ,with scarlet blood flowing.There was so much that it seemed like it had formed a small stream Green skinned small people were were rushing about everywhere attacking anyone; their small squinty eyes darted about,observing any and all movement, they all rushed at poor girl taking her down in the process The girls shrill voice sounded like ones made by ghosts and I could not help but open and close my mouth like a fish out of water,more than surprise I felt fear deep inside myself as I watched the gruesome murder of one of my classmates.I looked around but was disappointed to find only about five others in the same situation as me. My mind went black for a second, they were all gone;smiling and chatting just a while ago now they barely be recognised.The other survivors were in the same situation they stared wide eyed. Finally the small creatures eyes shifted to our corner,I finally realised that we were probably next the others were also not fools,they understood the situation and began to back up with contorted faces full of fear.The small faces of the green skins scrunched up and their bodies shook as scratching sounds were emitted from their throats, I could only associate this with excitement. We were all overcame with great fear and stood rooted to the floor. Strangly my body froze but I began to concentrate more to my surrounding. The others also backed up with tense bodies watching as the hungry creatures rushed at them . Time seemed as if it had stoped , all stared with unbelieving eyes they could not understand why they had to die . As the creatures got closer I finally made up my mind , I could not afford to make any mistake thus I rushed to the side as fast as I could and stretched my hand out for the hockey stick laying On the floor , God knows what this was doing here but it would serve the purpose No one noticed my movements, not even the monsters thus it came as a greater surprise when I swag the stick at one of the damned things. Caught unaware it could do nothing but receive a forceful smack to the face. The damned thing was quite sturdy as I felt a shock to my arm , although I felt a bit dazed it was not the timeto idle , I left one unconciouse creature on the ground as I rushed at the other one , it also tried to to doge but due to the previous surprise it could also not escape my swing Before I could celebrate my successive victories the last one jumped at me with an angry growl; I twisted my body to the capacity my body allowed to duck but I was unlucky , the creature crushed Into me; we went down with a bang. The first to respond was the creature , it quickly mounted on top and began raining down punches I hid my head to best of my abilities and waited for a chance . As the creature continued punching It let out satisfied grunts . It even stopped punching thinking I was dead , the moment it stopped; I punched as hard as I could, putting all my strength in. I felt the nose of the creature sinking in with my fist. My body was engulfed with adrenalin I twisted my body and pushed the creature off me . I caught the hockey stick with both my hands and swung Before the could even get back to it''s feet. This time the resistance was less, the hockey stick broke the things neck with a crunch. I stood tall , looking at the green blood that flowed out of the creatures nose , It was quite gruesome but I could not look away , today I had fought and won in a life or death battle , I still could not believe it . The onlookers and I looked dazed not knowing what to say, and then I heard it , a small voice like That which I had never heard before whispering into my ears. I shifted my gaze to the rest of the people and clicked Well at least there were some who survived Although I said such a thing I still couldn''t believe that all the others were gone ¡°Hey Dave ,man you alright ? ¡± my desk mate Mat whispered ,not daring to make much noise ¡°yeah , give me a sec ¡± I struggled to stand, my legs were a bit dazed As they saw me stand the others all came over huddling around ¡° Man what the hell is going on ¡± one of the guys said as he helped the brunette up. ¡° No idea but I think these are goblins ¡± a girl from the group replied pointing at one of the creatures. ¡° So what do we do now,¡± a tall guy with a built body asked,this was one of my other friends,Stan. Mat sent a glance at my direction and lifted his brows with a questioning look ¡° Say something Dave,I think we should come up with a plan ¡± I panicked a bit not knowing what to say. The others looked to my direction with expectant eyes Well,well.....what should I say?I was lost in thought when I suddenly thought of something . Yeah that''s what we should do.I quickly formulated my plan as the others looked on Well shouldn''t keep them long ¡°what about this, we all know video games right ¡± the others nodded and I continued ¡° well I think our situation is like that of a game thus let''s do this as if we were playing a game ¡± I stopped and looked around making sure everyone understood where I was going with this ¡° The best thing we could right now is forge makeshift weapons for everyone to protect themselves ¡± as I concluded the other nodded in agreement Matt''s eyes shone a bit as he picked the leg of a broken chair and began to make a weapon. There wasn''t any sound of disagreement, the guys made some jokes to lighten the mood, which I think somehow worked. When ever one was ready we moved out out of the classroom as quickly as we could The six of us made a circle as we made our way down the hallway ,protecting every blind spot. Before long we spotted 2 goblins walking up the stairs , we hid behind the wall as we waited When I noticed the heavy steps getting closer I jumped out jabbing my stick out at one of them. The others weren''t slow, they worked together and killed the remaining goblin, the poor thing didn''t even have a chance to retaliate before he was beaten to death. They all lifted their hands with joy , Stan was the odd one as he stood with dump face. The others couldn''t figure it out but I could guess ¡° level up huh ? I asked ¡± he quietly shook his head in confirmation It took sometime to explain to the others before starting our hunt again . It didn''t take long before everyone levelled up , I myself also gained another 2 levels. I was a bit annoyed at the rate of leveling up , as I had to kill double the amount. Everyone was in high spirits as rushed to meet more goblins , they adaptedabit fast! We slowly made our way , finally we discovered something different . There was a half a dozen goblins banging on the library doors, behind the door screams of fear were heard. We all knew what was happening.So there was other survivors Everyone was overjoyed ,wanting to rush at any time. I shook my head, although we had equal amounts of persons we would obviously be in the disadvantage I made up my mind and rushed at the goblins attracting their attention I tried my best to doge their attack sometimes returning with my own attacks. The others caught on and ambushed the goblins from behind With their attention divided I sent three goblins to hell with the help of my trusty hockey stick. I checked if there was anymore danger and collapsed when I saw that it was safe The others ran over ,¡° Hey man what The hell you should be more carefull!¡± I could hear Matt shouting in my ear. I was bit exhausted and could only reply with a silent nodd. The others ran over to the library door and knocked loudly The others were a bit vigilant asking unnecessary questions but finally opened the door What met them outside was the murderous atmosphere with bodies of goblins everywhere The survivors who came out to check out the situation were quite shocked The way they looked at Dave and the others was filled with fear and respect. They couldnt believe that students just like them could have done such a thing. Chapter 3: Goblin warrior Chapter: Goblin warrior The faces of the survivors were twisted with confusion I could sympathize with them, experiencing a new situation that they couldn''t handle Especially as students this was their first time having such difficulties. The thirty or so people were huddled in smaller groups discussing quietly ¡° Attention! Attention everyone ¡± a commanding voice suddenly sounded The whispering went down and everyone turned their gazes to the speaker. A tall intimidating man with a black suit and deep black eyes stood up. The middle aged man was Mr.Larson he looked fit making others think that he was younger, he was the vice principle of Dave`s school,as an ex-military he was quite strict David sometimes wondered if the man could have had a high rank in the military Shaking his head David turned his head wondering what he would say in such a situation ¡° Everyone come closer , David you also come here ¡± the mention of his name was surprising but David went closer to listen. The vice principle was a man of short words he basically summarised the situation into a few but clear words and then turned to Dave and the group motioning them to come forward. ¡° you are the students who have the most information say a word or two to enlighten us ¡±with these words we were pushed forward . I could feel Matt nudging me plus all the others looks. Seems like I had to say something, With a cough I began the whole story from the struggle in the class up to the current situation. Everyone''s eyes finally contained some will to fight They rushed to our group asking a bunch of questions , there wasn''t just students in the group ,out of the thirty survivors six were teachers. Before they could notice I slipped put and turned to run, I had something else to do I shouldn''t idle right now the best thing to do right now is to clear more of the goblins Without anyone noticing I quietly walked down the hall paying attention not to miss a thing This time there wasn''t any incidents and I began operation goblin slaughter The increase in The mind stats were quite obvious , I could now easily handle two goblins at once without much effort . The best thing is that I could see all the blind spots of the goblins s as if my eye was a magnifying glass. This was bad for the goblins as they rushed at me the only thing they saw before death was my mighty hockey stick and my horrible grin. Before long I heard the voice again informing me that I had reached level 7 Well how should I distribute the stats , since the last level I didn''t have the chance to distribute any of my free stats points Suddenly out of nowhere I felt a deep fear which I had never felt before cover me I dropped my weapon and hid as fast as I could , breathing as softly as I could , my heartbeat slowed down.I could feel sweat trickle down my back as my body shivered slightly from the tension I peaked from my hiding place , I wanted to at least see what could cause me to feel such fear I wish I hadn''t but there isn''t medicine for regret The was a horde of goblins moving down the hall , they looked quite savage more than the usual gobins The worst part was there in the middle was a giant goblin wielding a giant war axe . The giant goblins face was hedious with two long canines that looked fearsome jutting out from its mouth. I felt that I could crush metal between my fingers and destroy concrete with a single slap. The hockey stick in my hand was like a shooting star as it made contact with the goblins head With a crunch the stick shattered into tiny pieces. I couldn''t care less though, my fists were like a pair of bowling balls as I smashed the goblins face. The thing couldn''t even react before it''s face was crushed. I looked at my bloody hands covered in the green blood of the creature with amazement , the feeling of the raw power felt was amazing! I couldn''t continue indulging in the feeling though, my hand swooped down and gripped the iron spear. It felt a bit light but better than my previous weapon I think the other survivors also noticed our position , behind them followed four other goblins chasing them down. The goblins had carefree expressions as they hunted the humans down, the goblin leader still hadn''t made any move thus they could enjoy to the fullest Too bad though what greeted them behind the cover was a demon brutally crushing their fellow goblins. It didn''t take long to finish the goblins with my new strength plus I had gained another level I guess the weapon wielding goblins gave more experience When the survivors saw me easily handling they were much surprised , I quickly told them the position of the rest of the survivors and watched as they vanished. The goblin leader seemed to have realised that something was wrong instructed the remaining goblins to check it out. Handling five more goblins was now an easy thing with my increased strength, I once again gained a level. Seeing that there was no respond the goblin leader howled in anger , he swung his giant axe cleaving a part of the wall apart Damn even ten of me couldn''t take such a thing down, without waiting for the thing to come investigating I made my plan to run but before I could the thing had already spotted my hiding place. With a loud snort it lazily walked towards me , backing me up the wall. I had nowhere to run and nowhere to hide, I knew I had to give it my all to survive. I didn''t wait for it to start the battle, I shifted my spear from its line of site and hid it at with my body.I rushed as fast as I could not giving it a chance. With another snort the towering goblin stretched it''s hand towards my face , it''s gigantic hands were fast but I evaded to the side and threw out my spear with all my strength. Although it tried to shut it''s eye it wastoo late ,the iron spear was like an unstoppable star that bore deep into it''s eye. ¡° Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!! ¡± it cried as it held it''s left eye, it''s painful cry temporarily stopped me dead I''m my track. Damn my body couldn''t move , subconsciously I reached for the remaining stats dumping them in to mind. Caught off guard it twisted it''s head to evade to only making the situation worse. With both eyes gone it waved it''s arm randomly , it''s mighty axe made whoshing sounds as it cut apart the air David''s eyes twitched , carefully he jumped back to avoid the strikes He was quite unlucky as one of the attacks lightly hit him in the arm, blood gushed out , all he could was clench his teeth and try to stop the bleeding Suddenly the battle had come to a stand still, the creature blindly swung it''s axe around like a wild animal and David stood to the side watching calmly. The creature could not take it anymore it fell on it''s knees exhausted after it''s last swing David knew it was the perfect time to turn the tables after bandaging his arm he slowly collected all the spears of the dead goblins and placed them on the ground. Taking a deep breath he held a spear in his hand , he twisted his shoulders until he heard creaking from his bones and with a loud shout the spear left his hand Like a mighty lightning bolt the sharp spear cracked, the giant goblin couldn''t even react before the spear was planted deep inside its body ,only a part of it remained exposed The loud shriek of the goblin leader filled the hall, David didn''t give the creature much time to struggle, like a machine gun, one after another the spears left his hand and embedded themselves onto the creatures body It''s unsuccessful resistance was futile with each large movement it screamed trying to dig the spears out it''s body. It grew weaker and weaker with each passing moment and finally stopped moving. David stood to the side watching, his eyes shone deeply ready for anything uexpected After waiting for some time he finally sighed, it was finally over, well not yet David smiled at oncoming notifications with anticipation Experience gained Level up Level up ...... My mind was still a bit hazy from the battle and I couldn''t answer a single thing. The battle kept playing out in my head, the terrifying giant''s life was extinguished just like that. Just the thought made me dazed ,when I first saw the goblin warrior I saw an unbeatable existence , a being that could make others feel like ants in it''s presence but still that type of powerful creature was returned to the earth just the same. I couldn''t expell such thoughts from my head, I bit my teeth and clenched my fist , I feel an untamed desire to get stronger deep from my soul. I had to get stronger or I will die in this hell hole without anyone even knowing. This afternoon Mr.Larson had called on for a meeting , Like before everyone was still intimidated of the ex-soldier thus no one was missing from the meeting when I got there. Matt and the others waved me towards them ,as I walked to the sits I couldn''t help but notice the quietness and the soft whispers I felt like an animal in the zoo With everyone''s gazes. As an orphan I didn''t anyone to depend on, I knew the bitter feeling being alone that''s why I couldn''t do it, we should first secure the school and set up base I knew without strength to fight the monsters we would be nothing but flocks of sheep. I nodded towards the vice-principle causing him to break out a rare smile If I was going to do this I had to do it right.I began by telling them my plan Altogether the survivors amounted to around 40 people I decided that everyone should take part in clearing out the monsters I divided everyone into groups of three lead by a team leader. At any given time At least three teams were to hunt down monsters for efficient clearing of monsters. Problems of food and water were non existent Food was really available in the school cafeteria and could probably last a year Water was the same , the taps still worked so we weren''t going to be having shortage of water any time soon. Suddenly somebody interjected A tall blond guy with an ear piercing shouted loudly ¡°What the hell are you talking about ! Clearing the goblins and all that ¡± he snorted and continued ¡° That''s childish we are getting the hell out of here ¡± the two other guys at his side nodded nervously as they stole glances at the vice principle. Mr.Larson was quite at first after thinking about it for a while he shook his hand and turned his back. The blond guy sighed without looking back the three rushed out the library with make shift weapons in hand. Although I was still a bit distracted thinking of the other two reluctant faces I continued with my plan , I advised everyone to get a weapon to protect themselves. Thinking back I almost forgot, I rushed back to my resting area and came back shortly in my hand I held the 10 iron spears I obtained from the goblins. The metallic sheen and the green coating from the blood caused others to feel dread I walked back to the group, handing each one of them one. Matt and the others were like small kids , they swung the spears around with sparkling eyes When the other survivors saw the seen they threw us dissatisfied glances but I couldn''t care less. I had risked my life to obtain them so I should be the to do with them as I like. I took one from the remaining 5 and handed the others to the vice-principle I am sure he would distribute them accordingly, seeing me hand them over the other survivors gained a bit of hope and rushed towards Mr.Larson The tall man was quite intimidating he only had to shoot them a look and they were scattered like the wind not daring to look at his direction. The survivors went back to their work and continued working hard making their weapons, they knew that this was their only way of survival. No one had the the time to be occupied by my action, They were like me striving to survive. Looking at them I felt a bit guilty, well I should work extra hard tomorrow to teach them to best of my ability. That was my first day in the apocalypse , it was a hectic day filled with eventful moments everyone had gone through the cruel beginning but they survived and made it out alive. That night it finally settled in everyone''s minds, the world had completely changed and it seemed like it would never be seen again. The night was filled with the thunderous roars of beasts, but it didn''t seem odd but fit perfectly like some sort of background to the first night of apocalypse. Looking at the stary sky with countless stars that littered it I knew I had to survive.. SURVIVE AND LIVE ON! Chapter 5: Hunt Chapter: 5 Looking at the inexperienced guys struggling David let out a sigh, the stench from the dead goblins made breathing unbearable but it wasn''t too bad. David didn''t have any difficulty dealing with 4 to 5 goblins, especially in the confined space of the hallway. The others couldn''t say the same, the three teams that came to train this time were in a frenzy, some of them blindly threw out their weapons hoping it would wound a goblin. With terrified looks some were like statues not daring to make a move. David was careful so that nobody was heavily injured, he moved around decapitation most goblins. Where ever he passed he left bodies strewn about. The only people who tried were Matt and his group,equipped with iron spears each of their clumsy looking strikes managed to draw blood. Working together they were able to take down their third goblin. The whole place was like an ancient battlefield, the smell of blood that drifted in the air was quite disgusting adding to the whole situation the whole place seemed gruesome. At this time David suddenly felt a tingle at the back of his head, he dealt with another goblin and jumped back. His eyes shifted surveying the whole area ,he couldn''t notice anything strange. But he couldn''t shake off the dreadful feeling , he grew more alarmed with each passing second. He couldn''t hold back anymore without wasting much time he motioned the others to fall back. The last person to retreat was a tall guy with broad shoulders, before he could take one more step, terror filed his soul and he froze in place. He slowly turned his head and cried loudly [ No! No! Help! Help! ] In panick he began shouting , his arms flailing around but he couldn''t take a single step. David felt a familiar fear creeping in his heart but he hastily shook it off and looked around. The others weren''t much different from the tall guy, their bodies shook showing panicked faces. From behind, over 10 goblins emerged like an army, leading them was another giant goblin. David was surprised as this one was slightly larger than the previous one, it had dark coloured skin and it''s large frame loomed over the smaller goblins making it appear like a real giant. David who was watching everything was shaking, he could still remember his previous fight and it was still deeply etched in his mind. The onlookers witnessed the scene with eyes filled with terror [ we''re done for! ] David didn''t continue staring at the goblins With a rough shout he rushed past the tall guy like a powerful bull. Fearlessly he chopped towards the nearest goblin''s head. Blood splattered everywhere as it''s head came cleanly off. Eyes flashing with a determined light he didn''t give the goblins time to respond, he mercilessly swung his spear at another goblin. A powerful creature was rising to the heavens and constantly roaring, it seemed like it wanted to fight the heavens at it challenged any being that wanted to contest it. It spewed flames from its mighty mouth, making the dark night appear like it was day. When the gigantic dragon saw no challenge it flapped it''s wings and flew towards the south. The wyvern was so frightened that it didn''t care to spend another second. With a flap of its wings it disappeared without casting the goblin king another glance. When David saw the wyvern flying further and further away he finally sighed in relief. He looked towards the goblin king and clutched his giant axe. He walked slowly towards it; the others who saw this widened their eyes. The goblin king had fainted from the pain. Lifting the axe above his head, a murderous look passed his eyes, He powerfully hacked towards it''s body, aiming for it''s injured areas he fiercely hacked The body of the goblin king continuously spammed with each hack.
