Two successive dings rang inside the mind of Titus as it added to the buzzing already present in the former. Unfortunately for Titus it did not made his mind clear though as much as it clouded his mind even more. Shaking his head Titus got up unto his buttocks in attempt to find a comfortable position for him to recover. A few moments later the clouds covering Titus'' mind started clearing up as the sun was once again shining brightly. When Titus opened his eyes the first thing that he immediately caught his attention was the words displayed in his eyes. Titus was surprised for a moment but eventually recovered as he started regaining his memories piece by piece.Unauthorized content usage: if you discover this narrative on Amazon, report the violation. Titus quickly read through the words in his eyes and contemplated for a bit. ''First things first, basing on the'' skills'' unlocked written on his eyes or more specifically his retina, then this should work. '' Titus then moved his mind and started imagining. Alas, there it was."It really appeared!" Titus exclaimed. An then the former words that appeared on his eyes was then replaced with a new set of words. Window Select >Info >Status >Titles There are three categories that you can choose but Titus did not have any thoughts checking them out at the moment as he is already starting to get... funny. Chuckle* Hahahha2x From a grin to mild chucking. Titus then started laughing horrendously after he woke up from his dreary thoughts. "It succeeded!" Titus exclaimed. ''I really am a genius.'' Titus immediately continued but now in his thoughts. ''Anyway, I have to figure out where I am first.'' Titus then quickly found back his sanity and started thinking logically. Titus got up unto his feet and started scanning his surroundings when suddenly he was alarmed. He jump from fright when he noticed that his surroundings seemed to be... bigger, than himself. However having just experienced the information window first thought of possibllities before freaking out. ''There are two possibilities, either my surroundings are big or... I''m the one who''s small. In order to confirm this-'' Titus then looked down and there came to view his... Body? What Titus saw was his body(?) full of vibrant brown hair(?). Titus saw this and lifted his palms up. He saw his hands smaller than they are supposed to. His fingers longer and thinner than the former and his hands seemed to be more spread out. Looking further down he saw his feet also in a similar fashion with his hands. Touching his face Titus felt his furry face but what''s more was that his face seemed to be disfigured(?). Definitely still in the same shape of a skull just that it is much smaller just like the rest of his body. Passing for a moment, Titus completely stopped moving. Then suddenly he dashed straight through the lush vegetation. He did not know where he was going but he was still running continually nonetheless. During his seemingly aimless sprint, his ears twitched as he started hearing that the sounds around him are much louder and his movements much more agile apart from his small stature, Titus quietly nodded on the inside. Still running, Titus then heard the sound he was looking for. Ripples* Titus started hearing rippling and followed the direction where it came from. Arriving at a river, Titus stopped at the edge and peered through the water. On the flowing water he saw himself in he waters reflection and muttered, "imp." After confirming it firsthand Titus finally opened the Info* categories on the window selection as he willed through his thoughts. >Info Character Window Name: Titus White Level: 0 Race: Forest Imp + . . . Titus then willed and chose the plus sign after the ''Forest Imp''. Forest Imp Like most other imps, forest imps are basically one and the same compared to other Imps. Forest Imps are often characterized with their smaller stature compared to normal Imps. They have however much stronger teeth and claws in order to live up to their name as Forest Imps as they usually prey at fruits and even small insects thus their enhanced speed and mobility and eyesight for looking and scavenging for food. ''Hmmm''. Titus thought. Looking to the both ends of the river which Titus can''t even see the end of it despite his enhanced eyesight. ''Logically I shouldn''t stay here because first I am a Forest Imp meaning that my compatability with the forest is much higher thus safer and second this is a river and a long one at that I presume meaning that this is a ''primary'' source of water to most creatures, or should I say monsters if ever I see humans, thus it is much better to leave this place the faster the better as this is where most of them converge to drink water. '' Snapping out of his thoughts Titus prepped himself up and took a deep breath. Titus turned around to the he forest when suddenly heavy breathing blew right into his face as soon as he turned around. Opening his eyes, Titus saw a dog, a rabid one at that. Judging from the looks of it sharp fangs and obnoxiously open and bubbling mouth made Titus reach that conclusion. Also as to why the Paranoic Senses sense did not work, well, it did work. It''s just that Titus was focused on thinking and was really not used to having just ''skills'' in general. ''Come on!'' Titus exclaimed in his mind. I really have to adapt to this bullsh*t and fast. Chapter 2 Chapter 2: Latter (2). A chill ran through Titus'' spine as he shuddered at the ghastly face of the rabid dog. Titus'' impish* instincts tells him to run however he was not an animal. Titus was a human in the former and just woke up in the body of an animal as the latter, so he was not as dumb to follow this instincts. Titus was currently conflicted inside his thoughts as his brain had started working at fast pace calculating possible ways and their consequences along and with making it as logical as possible. Titus thought into his mind. ''The river is long and flowing mildly so and it is I assume the primary source of water of the creatures living nearby. However since in this world, purely basing on the fantasical setting'' s common sense, the river could also house some underwater creatures and will put me more into a disadvantage on footing than facing the rabid dog. If, there happens to be none around at the moment I jumped then it would be great as I have avoided the dog. But another issue will arise because since it is ''rabid'' it''s much more stupid than a normal dog and will wait till the end of time to wait for me, it''s prey, and during that time frame I would not be able to grasp an opportunity to ashore instead the dog will just continue and may even attract more creatures. Having the above said, the only other way I can think for right now is using what I, my body, is good at. I already identified when I was running and the information given that my greatest strengths that will supplement me in this crisis is my speed and dexterity and my claws. Next is the disadvantage, it is possible that I can''t outrun the dog since again it''s rabid and due to that it has enhanced strength and as for my greatest ''strength'' then it will be rendered useless and I will be overcomed not to mention using my claws in the first place. Thinking about it-'' Titus paused his thinking and moved only his eyes to look at the ground and also in his peripherals there is water after that he once again resumed.'' Yes, even though it''s rabid its still a dog in the end and is afraid of water, the reason I wanted to jump in the river in the first place as it can''t follow me, and adding to that idea... The moist ground, close to mud, is a good way for irritation.'' Thinking up to that point Titus heaved a deep breath and focused his two eyes straight into the rabid dog. Although Titus'' contemplation of the situation seemed long but in reality it was done in less than five seconds. As to why he could do that? It''s natural, for further explanation try this analogy(for future chapters sake), try speaking a sentence using only your thoughts and record the time how long you you did it. Now, do the same thing and repeat the same sentence but instead using your mouth to speak. The conclusion is that the thoughts in your mind is faster than actually doing it. Although it does apply to Titus executing his thoughts but remember he is an imp. Titus used his dexterity and quickly changed the direction of where his left hand is and used his speed to scoop up water while his right hand did the exact same thing but with the mud/soil on the ground. Technically he was able to this multitasking even if his current level is zero as it is equivalent to him back when to his normal, being human. It is not impossible to execute since this kind of action did not divide its attention because although Titus was doing this simultaneously, the action done was the same in execution thus not needing to do the above.Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website. Swinging his left arm and splashing the water scooped from the river right into the rabid dogs face, Titus was able to achieve his desired result, to shock the rabid dog. Since the dog was in a stunned state Titus was able to slide underneath the rabid dog (note that he is an imp, a small creature compared to to a dog or rabid dog in this case). Having his left hand free Titus used it to balance his small stature and posture his right arm and aimed right at the dogs neck. Titus'' right hand held the dirt in his palm in a bowl shape to avoid it spilling and bent his fingers akin to that of an eagle as the claws protruded out. Rip* sounds of ripping followed suit as Titus was continuing to slide through the semiliquid soil while leaving tracks of blood and moist dirt as he got further. Blood splattered everywhere as soon as Titus claws met with the dogs neck and ripped it apart continuing until its belly. Finally Titus stopped sliding and used the momentum gained from the stop and did a front flip. When Titus landed he began to run to the nearest tree and started climbing it in a quick fashion totally displaying his forest imp''s race'' specialty. Stopping halfway, on a branch Titus heaved as a big sigh of relief came because his planned worked. Quietly peering through the short distance, Titus saw the rabid dog turning around and started dashing straight to Titus'' tree. Upon seeing the rabid dog approaching the tree he was in, Titus however did not worry as he knew exactly what was happening. While dashing to the tree the rabid dog spilt more blood on the ground making the dry soil moisten, apparently it already left the shore of the river as the soil was already dry at some point. When the dog was at the trees footing the dog tried to used its paws to climb the tree. However it was nothing all but a futile attempt as it can never climb up, why? Although it is not impossible for four legged animals to climb a tree the current situation was not at all favorable to the dog as from the neck upto its belly was a long gash of claw marks rendering it unable to put strength in its whole body much less its legs. After a couple of rounds of attempted climbing the rabid dog suddenly stopped and let out a wail, as it started flailing about. Titus who was watching from the above grinned as he saw that the mud technique had started working. Even though the gash was not deep it was also not shallow thus the rabid dog was not able to put strength but if combined with the mud then there will be an opposite effect. When the mud was applied an irritation was build up on the wound, and no matter how shallow a wound is it cannot escape germs and bacteria, thus the rabid dog could only flail about splashing and spilling even more blood as the rapid dog applied pressure on its wound. . . . Baam* The body of the dog fell to the ground flat after an hour of struggling. Even though it was already suffering so much then again it''s rabid as it still did not gave up on Titus and chose on staying at the foot of the tree until it drew its final breath. ''The stupid dog finally died!'' Titus exclaimed inside his mind. There are three major factors why the dog died. First is due to exhaustion which was obvious on how long it struggled. Second is due to bacterial infection that came from the mud on the wound as Titus desired to happen when he scooped up the mud and since there was an opening from the neck it immediately got up to the brain much faster if not then the dog could have survived longer but still will face inevitable death though. Third is due to blood loss because no matter how shallow the wound from the claws is the blood would still leak out just in a slower pace but with the flailing causing the rabid dog to add pressure on the wound made it accelerated again the inevitable as it is bound to happen just that it would just take much longer rather than just an hour. And there it concluded the fight between Titus and the rabid dog, and Titus emerged victorious using his knowledge. Titus who was preparing to climb down paused when suddenly he heard familiar sounds- Ding* Ding* Ding* Ding* Ding* Chapter 3 Chapter 3: Latter (3). Ding* Your level has risen. Your level has risen. (in relation to how you level up will be explained on a later chapter as this chapter focuses more on obtaining skills) Automatically the information window popped out. >Info Character Window Name: Titus White Level: 2 Race: Forest Imp + Occupation: None + Note: A feature has been unlocked, notification. You can either disable this feature or use the filter function that came along with it. Titus thought for moment then thought in his mind, ''only notify me of important things.'' Then he continued, ''it should be able to identify, as it is my subconscious after all, what I consider important right?'' However Titus'' thought, was all for naught (get it... Rhyme?) because as soon as he thought of his option it automatically confirmed his decision. Although it did not notify him directly, at least he felt it because again it is his own subconscious. ''Speaking of leveling up... Why did I not see a single statistics. Like strength, hp, mana and etc.'' Just when Titus thought of this, his question was immediately answered when the ''Skills'' category popped up. > Skills Authority (Passive) All inhabitants of this world have this skill regardless of race, species and etc. All of the inhabitants of this world have complete control of themselves. Fate? Destiny? There is no such bullsh*ts. You are the ruler of your own life and its path to take from the day you are born till you die. All the decisions you make are yours and yours only. God''s? FAQs: Since you have the authority of everything around you then you can make your own intrepation of measuring one''s strength. Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation. After seeing this Titus immediately dived into deep thought because although it may seem insignificant in the future it will help him avoid danger by knowing their strength. ''Okay then it is decided. I will not change anything. I will just simply follow the level system here with level 2 being stronger than level 1. The same hierarchy goes with the skills as well. But when cases like using a skill where it is to temporarily increase your strength then we can use simple mathematics and add how much strength (level) has been stacked. '' Titus then concluded in his mind. Example of this is below. Fighter A'' s level is 5 and fighter B''s level is 4. With that said, if fighter B uses a skill than can add 2 levels worth then it makes fighter B''s strength equals to six meaning that fighter B is much stronger than fighter A after the skill activation. However once the skills duration is over then fighter B''s level will revert back to its original level until the skill is activated again. (Skill system will be explained in future chapters) However, if both fighters have the same level (refers to both actual level and measure of strength if specified but it will do even without specification) then it will base on external factors on which will decide the victor such as techniques in fighting, the terrain and even the skills the fighters have. Now that was settled Titus moved on for now, ''if there is somethings that the above cannot apply then I''ll just add something then as again I have the authority to do so. '' Titus thought as he got back from his thoughts and backed his focus again on the three remaining notifications. . . . Ding* A new skill is obtained. Focus (Passive) Since you performed a feat that relates to the foundation of this skill thus it has been unlocked. Effects: -It will allow the user to divide the user''s focus to do different tasks simultaneously. +Number of how many times can the user''s focus could be divided: 2 tasks (Upgradable: Increases when requirements are met.) Note: Please keep in mind that ''thinking'' is not included in the counting as it is a different type of task (more natural aspect). ''Maybe it was because of the swings I did back when I was clawing up the rabid dog made it possible for me unlock the skill?'' Titus deduced. ''In conclusion I can do some sh*t and if it somehow relates to a skill and met a certain requirement or close to the foundation and the base of the skill then I can unlock skill like so.'' While Titus was thinking go ft that in his kind he unconsciously grinned as his mind was already starting to run at full speed as he thought of his ''genius'' plan. Ding* A new skill has been obtained. Survivalist (Passive) Since you performed a feat that relates to the foundation of this skill thus it has been unlocked. Effects: (Effects may vary depending the way the user obtained the skill) - this skill allows the user to use the surrounding terrain to the user''s advantage more effective. +100% increase in efficiency has been added in anything related to the terrain even when outside of combat. - this skill allows the user to quickly analyze the situation the user is in and maximize survivability. +100% increase in effeciency of the minds processing speed. Note: User can not add additional effects through actions and execution. However, external factors such as skill books having a different effect can be used. ''So the skills can so be like this.'' Titus thought as he read through the description. ''It is possible to have different effects of the same skill through the way it was obtained. Also, you can learn the same skill again apparently with the use of external factors but only the effects are retained. And most importantly, I think I have to rethink my genius plan as this unexpected factor came up.'' Titus then added and was accompanied by a nod. Ding* A new skill has been obtained. Hunt (Active) Since you performed a feat that relates to the foundation of this skill thus it has been unlocked. Effects: - Once activated, the skill can allow the user to refrain the user''s prey (Opponent) to escape or flee in the middle of the combat. Or it can be done vice versa when the user is the prey the user can use this at perfect moment to temporarily stun the enemy and escape if the user has the ability to. Note: This skill requires the perfect timing of the user as the skill only lasts an instant and will not be viable again if used on "the same enemy again in the same combat" (if the user fights another enemy apart from the enemy the user used the skill then when the user fights the first enemy that was affected by this skill will now again be susceptible as the user switched combatants during the whole ''fight'') as their susceptibility will be removed. ''Finally an active skill!'' Titus exclaimed in his mind as his eyes widened from surprise. ''Even though it''s quite wrong to say that I'' finally'' learned an active skill while this is the first time I''ve leveled up and obtained skills through this method and in a suggestive tone at that, but then again it''s an active skill in the end! '' Titus self wronged and self justified himself due to his surprise and happiness. '' Although the skill is very difficult and can be quite complicated to execute but since I have to learn it first all the more "it is an active skill which require more studying than a passive skill as passive skills is only a matter of greeting used to compared to active skills where you have to execute it" and even the skill description emphasized that ''perfect timing'' is needed. Nonetheless this skill will inevitably useful overall since it can both work in two ways, also there is a loophole because if I considered one as an enemy then I can use this skill freely and does not matter if it really is my enemy as long as I considered it to be, and the explanation of the susceptibility is a great help and a great thing to keep in mind. '' Thinking upto this point, Titus dismissed all of the above and was planning to learn the skills later after he got out of here. Why? Because the smell of blood coming from the rabid dogs dead body is starting to spread and worst case scenario will attract even more monsters into this place. ''Won''t I be dead at that point'' Titus thought as he remembered how lucky he was to have only met a stupid dog rather than an intelligent opponent or else he won''t even mention of surviving against something stronger than the rabid dog at that and this moment as he was still to weak. Resolving himself, Titus then climb down the tree and approached the dead body laying flat on the ground. Chapter 4 Authors note: This chapter is more of focusing on answering the established questions that might have built up during the battle of Titus and the rabid dog and for the future chapters'' basis thus I decided to delay the magic system of one chapter and prioritize this one first as it will clear up the explaination and will shorten the chapter about the magic system. P. S. It may be of a waste to say this but still I felt the need to do so. The first 5 paragraphs of this chapter is the explanation I mentioned (I decided to make it simple and tried a much smarter approach in explaining the matter, I do hope that it will clear things up) and the rest of the paragraphs in the later parts of the chapter is what you call, ''setting up the stage'', for the next chapter. Chapter 4: Latter (4). Titus did not dilly dally on his descent as he knew that there will be danger if he did so. Why? The main problem that Titus thought of was the smell of blood. Also, Titus was not dumb enough to think that transmigrating from a modern world to a fantasy one was this easy. Nor was Titus dumb to not know that other predators are looming around the area and may be attracted by the smell of blood despite him thinking of a plan during that life and earth situation making him even question his own intelligence if he actually was not aware of. Reaching the foot of the tree the stench of the blood is strong, the reason being Titus having a sensitive nose and is pretty close at the ''crime'' scene. However it is mild enough to have a little bit more of leeway in regards to the time Titus has before he will get surrounded by more predators. When Titus was at the foot of the rabid dogs body, he did not surprisingly vomit nor felt any of the aftereffects of killing a living being. But as Titus used his mind instead of his head, it is just because he ''is'' an imp in this world, they are mischievous devils, sprites and is a dark entity by nature, so it was not at all a surprise in the end. Looking at the body, Titus could still see the long gash from the rabid dogs neck to its belly. Evident of Titus'' ''mud plan'' was the bulging opening of the wound and it made Titus a bit proud for his calmness and desciveness during the battle. "Albeit, perhaps I had already accepted this world even before I came here, proven by the fact of my performance in my first ever battle; life at stake." Titus exclaimed under his breath as he concluded the reason of his ''amazing'' feat during the event. And Titus also thought that it may be a factor in which he was able to suppress the fear instilled by instincts back there. Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon. Now that the questions in Titus'' mind was answered he then proceeded to the task at hand. Titus thought, ''I am sure that I cannot salvage anything from the dogs body as I do not have anything to dismantling the body to begin with. Second is that I am exhausted from the battle that had just ended.'' Titus looked around his surroundings. After a moment of thought, Titus suddenly stick out a finger and spat saliva on it. He then raised his hand and closed his eyes. Feeling a cold sensation from his finger Titus concluded that the direction of the wind was towards the forest which is bad because although the wind is mild and soft it will eventually attract more attention to the blood''s smell much faster than he initially calculated. ''I don''t have the means to dig a hole and bury the body. I don''t have the means, plans nor intention of just ''simply'' cleaning the ''crime scene'' as the latest dumb idea is just suggesting that I''m stupid. So, the only choice is-'' Titus stopped and made haste with his movements. Even though he just got back down from a tree he decided to climb yet another tree. However Titus chose a much more lush tree than the previous one as he did not want the view of the dead dogs body but instead Titus wanted Vines, the sturdy ones. Agilely climbing the much bigger tree Titus stopped by a thick branch and started searching strong sturdy Vines. As soon as Titus chose his pick, he started unraveling the Vines from the tree branch and let the acquired Vines fall off the tree. Titus did so, not because he was dumb and damage the Vines, but because he knew that the Vines he chose with the help of his ''Forest'' imps instincts will be able to handle the impact and the reason why he let it falling was because it is inconvenient for Titus to carry it during his descent. Baam* The Vines that hit the ground formed a dust cloud. When the dust cloud started to fade a figure could be seen through it. Precisely, it was Titus. As Titus descent was much faster without the additional weight he quickly arrived right after the Vines hit the ground. Dragging the thickest of the vines around the closest and sturdiest tree near the river (by mean nearest, it is still long). Titus secured the vine and used the knot specifically used for this types of situations that he learned from ''boy'' scouts during the special P.E. Lectures back on earth. Titus did the same with the other Vines as he started connecting the Vines from each other as Titus did not exactly picked them out for its length but sturdiness even if he did the length of one vine is still not enough to cover the distance from the tree to the river not eliminating the need to connect the Vines excluding ''two'' that is. Having that done, Titus brought the end of one vine specifically reserved and tied it to the dead body. Titus then dragged the body at the river bank/shore and connected the last vine there along with the other Vines and pushed the dead body rightfully so after he was done tying the Vines together. Titus after seeing his piece of work, the rabid dogs body was submerged into he water and the flowing water dragged out the blood out of the body, Titus then proceeded to his final proceedings. Titus gain had gone back to a tree and picked out big leaves and quickly returned to the river. Titus took the measure of going a little bit upstream to avoid the blood contaminated water and used the big leaves to gather water. The water in hand Titus had gone back to the crime scene and the blood trail which was fading as it got near the river and poured water over them. Titus did so to eliminate the smell and will let the blood dissolve along with the water and let it seep into the ground. Now that Titus was done of his work he watched his masterpiece, the rabid dogs dead body although diviated from a parallel line rom the tree to a diagonal one it is still slight as the rivers current is not absurdly strong, Titus then realized something and felt like a total idiot. "I should''ve dragged the body first near the river before tying it with the vine and that would had just made my work work much easier and I can exert less strength than needed, damn the additional weight of the vine is heavy!" Chapter 5 Chapter 5: Latter (5). In the morning, the wind gently blew across the entirety of the forest. The wind that demonstrated its free nature glided atop the trees among the forest. Like a mother caressing her new born baby, drops of morning dew dropped from a leaf unto a sleeping Imp''s face. Splat* Titus who felt a wet feeling on his face awoke from his slumber. With a yawn, he stretched his limbs out while one of his hands is rubbing his drowsy eyes. Now that Titus was fully awake, he climbed out from his makeshift hammock that he made from one of the leaves he used to get water and from a vine that he left out yesterday. Titus was really tired from yesterday''s events and he actually slept like a log. The place where Titus slept is relatively safe. Currently, Titus was midway of a tree and just hanged the hammock he made at a little stub of branch. Fortunate enough, the small branch was able to bear the stacked weight of Titus and the hammock but of course Titus was not dumb enough in the first place to just randomly crash on his hammock without checking if the branch was secure. Titus was just down stream from where yesterday''s events happened. As to why, Titus thought that it was better to go to the separate direction instead of going upstream which if, worst case scenario, a human had stumbled upon his doing will choose to go upstream as the human will think that the piece of work that Titus did was from a fellow human which by nature was not wrong considering he was ''formerly'' one but things aside currently he was an Imp. On the other hand Titus was not afraid of having small creatures like him disturbing him especially snakes but snakes are more active during early in the mornings rather than the night as snakes need to rest to, even though snakes here are monsters Titus thought that there is no difference between the two. Now that Titus got a good night sleep his aching limbs from yesterday were now almost healed and only feel a slight pain when he moves. Speaking of why he tied the dog and made an effort in dragging it into the river, Titus thought of fishing, that''s all. Titus was trying to see if there is something underneath the water and will eat the ''bait'' saut¨¦d with blood and germs. If there is then, f*ck, as Titus would not be able to cross the river when the time he needs to just by swimming. Now that it''s early in the morning the snakes are bound to wake up soon so Titus got down from his tree. He then proceeded to go upstream but was sticking close to the trees and he can easily run for his life or specifically ''climb'' for his life from tree to tree in case some monsters that was attracted by the smell of blood was still lingering at the ''crime'' scene.Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon. When Titus arrived, his already vigilant self heightened his senses as he first scouted the area. Making sure that there are no mishaps from the area Titus then started planning for his escape if, worst case scenario, there is some ''bastard'' creature lying in wait for God who knows where. Thankfully all of it was just in Titus'' head and there is actually none lying in ambush. Titus followed the ''line'' he created using the Vines he connected which was now loose completely different from yesterday where it was tight, clearly the weight it was bearing was gone, Titus suspected and saw the dead rabid dogs body was gone confirming his initial guess. At the very end of the tip on where he tied the dead rabid dogs body he saw the Vines, it was torn forcefully of what he guessed the ''fish'' that he, the fisherman, wanted to catch or in this case confirm its presence. At least Titus'' decision was correct in not going into the water or else he might have died yesterday. Shaking his head, Titus went back to the he tree where he tied the Vines and with the use of his claws started tearing it apart out from the tree the same thing he did to the make shift hammock after he woke up. After the Vines snapped from Titus'' constant scratching he pushed the Vines to the river and watched as the Vines drowned in the gentle current of the river. Finally done with all of his business here, at the river, Titus walked a little bit upstream and started heading in a 60¡ã degree angle from the river''s parallel. Titus was strolling through the woods casually and was stretching out his limbs to make a feel of his overall change from yesterday''s level up. Apart from the little fatigue that remained, he can now feel that his body was much ''lighter'' he must say. He continued feeling the changes in his body to boost his ego when suddenly he got an idea. Titus quickly climbed a nearby tree and found a sturdy vine nearby. He then started leering through his path upfront and started to make calculations and noted on where the Vines are. With an inward shout, as he was not dumb to actually shout and attract monsters and besides he still could not speak apparently and only ''hooing'' noises came out as he noticed when he tried to talk out lout after yawning this morning; as oblivious as he is yesterday, and grabbed unto the vine firmly then he jumped. Titus was swinging from tree to tree just like what he thought and actually looked like ''T*rzan'' as he skillfully maneuvered though the forest with double the speed of his former walking pace. Although it was Titus'' first time doing this from the while of his two lifetimes including this one, he still succeeded nonetheless. Titus was a bit skeptical but just shrugged it off, ''as he was an Imp so why can''t he?'' Titus just visualized and searched through his memories of references he can use along with his own theories to make it work. What more? However Titus was not able to keep his skeptical self much longer as he saw a smoke from a distance. Although it deviated his path a bit, nonetheless, Titus was just roaming around aimlessly to begin with and was just exploring his new'' home'' and familiarizing himself with the environment as it was deemed crucial from yesterday''s battle. Also, Titus thought of this encounter as a chance to meet if there really is ''human'' civilization or even humanoid ones in this world as from the moment he knew that he was an Imp and the world has level and can trigger evolution and etc. He already resolved himself to go back to his former, a human, or at least a humanoid as it was the closest thing he could think of with his base form of an Imp. Without hesitation Titus sped through the forest even more as he was quickly approaching the source of the smoke. Chapter 6 Chapter 6: Latter (6). The same gentle wind that blew the dews on the leaves courted the puffy smoke to sway. The smoke was dancing in place. Akin to that of a rainbows end, full of treasures, the source of the smoke also contained such as Titus might say. When Titus arrived at the end of the ''rainbow'' of smoke saw the treasures that he sought. His eyes glittered a bright light clearly visible despite it was amongst the rays of sunshine piercing through the roof of leaves in the thick vegetation. "Master!" A young maiden''s voice permeated through and broke the silent atmosphere. Titus who had just finished settling on a branch, hidden among the leaves, saw the youth with a dazzling introduction ''fuzzily'' as accompanied by the dancing smoke in the youth''s background. Sigh* A sigh emerged from the ''masters'' mouth although it could not be heard through the ear especially in a distance, it can be felt through from the atmosphere respective as to what Titus did. "Yes... Coming my child." The voice seemed to have gone through the passage of time carrying a profound sense in the voice itself as if natural. Followed by a rustling of leaves; an aged man, indeed, came out from within the ''thick'' bushes and steadily walked towards the youth a supposed disciple (the child used meant disciple but is deep and close to actual kinship) of his. ''Lolicon?'' Titus almost exclaimed out loud if not then he would had been discovered no matter the distance as he can sense the depth of the aged man just from his presence. (lol) The aged man gestured to the youth to sit on a stump near a burnt out campfire used overnight, the source of the smoke. The youth who was about to reply, mouth midway open, closed her mouth again and sat on the designated seat. The aged man who saw the youth that grumpyly sat and simply shook his head as if a common occurrence and once he was in front of the youth he asked. "What is it child?" "Grandpa! You still haven''t exacted the revenge for my dear Bruno!" Titus who heard ''grandpa'' coming from the youth''s mouth was finally freed from his cold sweat as the aged man was not a Lolicon as he suspected. "Child, you are already 15 this year yet still here you are acting like a spoiled regal." The man replied with his unchanged voice since from the beginning, steady and dignified whether intentional or not. From Titus'' view, it is not possible to distinguish the features of both people despite Titus'' enhanced eyesight after his level up. In addition the atmosphere coming from the aged man seemed to distort reality as both of their figures only looked vivid images. However, it was certain that they were humans if not at least humanoid beings with high intelligence similar to humans. "I already explained it to you yesterday child... *sigh The rabid dog was not suitable for controlling as it has such wild and brash nature. Although it may seem easy for me but there is a big difference between the levels of both you and I." The aged man elaborated." I know but don''t we have the same ''hidden skill'' as heritage from out family! " The youth retorted so." Yes, child however you do have to remember that hidden skills are the same with other skills the only thing that differs it from the other known skills is because it is hidden thus not publicaly known and is only slightly stronger than the other skills only that hidden skills have a certain surprise effect thus adding to battle power especially to a foreign opponent. Also, I have to ''again'' remind you that it is a taboo to speak about our family having a hidden skill as it will only bring calamity upon us. "" B.... But-" The youth tried to retort but was cut off by the aged man. This time however the man''s voice suddenly became stern and it was further apparent from the girl''s sudden stop of stutter. Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site. "You child, do I have to explain it to you again?" The aged man thought out loud nonetheless despite the remark the aged man still proceeded. "Again, skills are divided into three different tiers the; low, middle and high which respectively comes with bottlenecks in between, according to its strength and each tier has it own respective ratings of upto five stars corresponding to the ''*level*'' of ours evaluation-wise of tiers and ratings (refers to all creatures because it is a litrpg after all). The so called hidden skill is merely a remark given by the general public but that did not make it much different apart from slight differences, again, from others as I explained yesterday and earlier. Our family''s hidden skill, ''mind manipulation'', is a tier 1 low skill Mind Manipulation ( it may seem redundant but I guess it adds taste to it) that has been rated 2 stars according to the esteemed elders of our family. Finally, to answer your question from yesterday night again, to make it clear, currently your current level is 9 and the rabid dog you controlled had its level nearing five thus your already low proficiency of using the skill was rendered to sink lower unless you already had practiced this in about a year or so however you did none until a week ago thus the purpose of our journey, which simultaneously has come to an end at this moment as an event like this happened and needed your full concentration and pondering only to be done at our household. Although there is a massive leap of strength in every 5 levels still the power output that you can put on the skill of ours is minimal as you are only level 9 unless you are already 10 as it may have eliminated the wild and brash trait of the rabid dog. I already told you in advance not to choose monsters on your first time such as those rabid dog as it does not work on creatures that do not use their minds to think. Apart from the ability to order it around finely during casual times when things such as those that happened yesterday of the rabid dog running away because of the sudden stimulation of instincts. Please keep in mind that mind manipulation is only a tier 1 low skill despite it being rated 2 stars and it being a hidden skill. But fret not child as when you reach the level like I am, level 27, you will be able to control a child to bring you his most treasured candy that his mother bought for him without hesitation much less those elders of our family that despite only being a tier 1 low skill was able to utilize it unprecedented above its tier and was very helpful in carrying out assassinations thus it being rated two and also there came to play why skills which was rated higher and has a higher tier are crucial when it comes to people of the same level including monsters. And don''t think the way that even if it is only ranked two star each individual star has a high gap in between, not to mention the eighth, fourth, half and a quarter of a star which it may not be as big of a gap it still is to the point of it being noticeable..." Authors note: This chapter is a further explanation the level system and level concept of this world as predeceed by the explanation on chapter 3. Also the skill system are also explained in this chapter. I think I will do more chapters like this that contains both the cause and effect or just the relationship of things rather than delaying it and causing confusion unless this was a completed story which is not but it is however; excluding to the chapters that are emeant to be divided into different parts to be effective and only including independent chapters that has their own goals which by the way most stories are built of by balancing both independent and connected chapters. Chapter 7 Chapter 7: Beginning (1). After the aged man''s long explanation the atmosphere which was left lingering the area had already turned long solemn. The smoke, previously swaying, was now floating still and faint like a flame on a candle wick out of wax to supply energy. Suddenly- Accompanied by a boom that came from the pit of fire (campfire), although it was only a sound akin to that of a cricket created by the burning coal (branch), it was sufficient in a way of telling that it was a beginning of the unfolding of an extraordinary event. The youth however was still in the stump and remained unmoving as if she were a statue and the same as the aged man whom staring to his both disciple and granddaughter finally starting to integrate and ingrained the knowledge in her mind. However for the man it was not weird as he was explaining he got too passionate about it and unknowing activated the hidden skill which was far above of the ''level of control'' from the youth and ''slightly'' affected the youth''s take on the subject matter making the old feel a little bad but nonetheless he was not worried as he knew that this daughter of his is a genius among the family''s young ones. As Titus was listening through the aged man''s explained had something suddenly dawned upon him. And with ''it'' being the reason why he felt something was not right when he was making his way here. Because of such Titus sunk into deep contemplation as he peered through the entirity of his soul. If you look at his eyes at the moment, Titus'' eyes seemed unfocused and blank totally not aware of his surroundings, it is a good thing that he was still hidden among the leaves. A hidden skill has been discovered. Synchronization (Passive) [ Not upgradable] Mind and body are one. Isn''t that godly? Well, congratulations as you had already paved the path that you''ll walk on while still in your infancy stage, good job Imp! Effects: - mind and body are one; allows the users mind and body to become one and be able to uniformly control the two as one, obviously... + the host''s visualization for example will be attained as if already ''familiar'' with it and just ''familiar''. Never in his imagination that this situation came to his mind such as this one. Titus expected and since he was still new to this world he did not know that he can even acquire a hidden skill through the ''find it'' rather than just inheritance. However, thinking a bit more it makes sense as he created a new hidden skill exclusively for himself, unknown to also himself apparently until now. ''No wonder there was only three skills that popped out apart from the level notification despite having 5 Notifications (ding*) in total.'' Titus thought back when he acquired the skills. '' So that answer how I was able to "T*rzan" swing without experience at all. And looking at the skills introduction, it is as godly as it is. From the start I already felt I''m too OP since I was a hard on nerd in my past life. It was so much that the primary and only goal of mine was to get things such as a PhD on all major subjects and professions, and so I did and afterwards became depressed and bored about life and came to his world by ''technology'' I ''created'' at least helped to create to restart my life. Still I have no clear goals at the moment apart from getting accustomed to the law of the jungle, in other words survival. '' Titus recalled a moment and then evaluated his current situation. In the midst of Titus contemplation the grandfather and granddaughter already left and even reached the point of completely erasing the evidence of someone camping here. Just like the smoke that lead Titus unto this place vanishing into thin air without warning as the surrounding nature came back to their tranquil state away from human interference. Although Titus only watched from a distance he knew that this encounter was not the last of then as it was only a beginning. Awakening from his stuppor, Titus gazed at the empty space on where his source of enlightenment came from and got disappointed. However he just shrugged it after some thought. Thinking of an immediate goal he quickly left the area and quickly found a more secluded area. At the moment Titus'' exploration has come to a pause as he needed to prepare himself first. Titus found a tree whose inside was hollow and start chewing on the trunk (anime reference/inspired BTW) until he created a small cave dwelling inside the tree. Along with some stalks of grass the he casually plucked as the floor, it looked like a proper home. Satisfied, Titus sat on the center of his ''home'' and entered his "sea of consciousness" or simple just contemplation and pondering. Upon his entrance he quickly recalled all of his skills and started familiarizing all of them at once and is complementary skills. This continued until the sky turned dark and still continued up until the first light of the day, the next day. Opening his eyes, instead of tardiness he instead felt comfort and accomplishment thus he got out of his dwelling and gone out to look for some food. Plucking some fruits on the nearby tree, he gobbled the food and gulped a big mouthful while thinking of his discovery. Titus found out that when a skill is obtained it does not make Titus actually ''executing'' it and more like of ''learning of how to execute'' it through ''feeling'' just like in school were your P. E. teacher being the ''skill obtained'' teaches you PUSH UP and tells you to do push up until you can execute it perfectly after respectively (same thing applies to spell books or skill books just to get it out of the way) . In the end, it is still a matter of learning and not like in games when you obtain a skill you can just execute it. Excluding the executions he made with synchronization, all are pretty much the same. Authors note: Well this chapter is pretty laid back for two reasons; one is that the day I wrote this was my birthday and was feeling laid back hence the influence and second is its the ''beginning'' ehem* refer to title to the real story unfolding without more delays as I feel that the foundations are already sturdy for the time being. Also one last thing. I specially made this chapter to act as a scapegoat of mine instead of just plain plot armor. As for what? You folks already know... Chapter 7.5 Authors note: Hello there! Since the foundation building of the story is finished is about to enter the actual storyline I decided to make this one and included it along with the last chapter of foundation building, chapter 7. This is for you folks'' reference also do consider of commenting "skill combos" that you thought of, you never know that I might include it. (with credits to the person of course) . . . . . Whilst upon the mark of a new day, the great sun has bathed upon the forest''s expanse in its glory. Rising atop the sky, peeking between the ranges. Under the tree top roofs, rays of light peirced though akin of judgement spears. Lighting the world below beholding its beauty. After yesterday''s whole day of ponder and contemplation Titus woke up early in the morning feeling refreshed. Although, he is however nervous nonetheless as it is the start of his march to the path he paved for himself. "Evolution!" Is what Titus had in mind. However he does not have goals as such; conquering the world and becoming stronger nor other delusions concerning others and the world instead his sole purpose on coming here is finding stimulation through new knowledge to the point that it made him ''look'' crazy and created a machine just to come to this place. In short, boredom, is the reason he came to seek more knowledge in a foreign land as being the world''s "GREATEST" on earth has some disadvantages in it thus this is the only way he can satiate it, this is unless other ''factors'' come to play. Although Titus down played his merits to points such as getting just mere Phd''s in multiple areas of expertise, trust the narrator, it is "MOAR" than that. (the spelling is intentional) "Evolution first and knowledge second. " Titus thought in his mind as he did not want to go ''focus'' on knowledge while he is in Imp form, a matter of preference, thus he needed to evolve to at least a ''proper'' humanoid first. . . . Titus'' plan for the day is to explore the forest first after all he should not be unfamiliar with his home. Along the way Titus would also start refining his executions he created yesterday. To do such, he first need to find something that can aid him so when he stumbles upon them upon journeying. Titus first further inspected and secured the perimeter around his ''home'' to avoid hidden danger that may bring him calamity and prevent future implications. From predators to the environment, none can escape his scrutiny which thankfully was not present. Having done his safety measures he then proceeded to wander and find food. It was already noon when he finished thus he felt the need too eat. On the way he unknowingly stumbled upon the place where the grandfather and granddaughter duo resided and decided to check the place. Alas, even after his meticulous searching he could not find a trace much less a clue from the two. Dejected he came to the river and started heading downstream. Suddenly, his ears started twitching and immediately became vigilant. Silently Titus cursed himself for being letient and vowed to always put up guard wherever, whenever and whatever as he started to accept the reality that this world in not a peaceful one. Surprisingly he was not tensed. Bushes rustling, and there came a frog hopping about. When Titus saw it and confirmed the situation being light, he decided to use it as an opportunity instead of negligence. Titus approached it until he is half a meter away and started to focus his attention towards his surroundings. Precisely it is the paranoic senses that he started to get used to, although it is a passive skill he needed to adapt to it. He divided its training into 3 parts and already completed the first step; being aware of his environment in his surroundings and is now at the second step detecting life.Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation. While using his subconscious to survey the surroundings and lock unto the frog he started performing a basic one-two punch and blindly kicking about to divert his attention. Doing so will help him get faster improvement than solely focusing on the passive since it is supposedly to be a passive in the first place. Titus continued this until the sky was painted orange before he finally stopped. On the way home he plucked some fruits and ate it along the way. Upon arriving to his ''home'' he crashed down on the already dried stalks of grass. He was so exhausted that he could not move. Although it took him only a night to familiarize the skill it is entirely different when it comes to observing life in general but in specific those that has no motive or ill intention towards him and even those opponents who can hide their intents. Apart from the information telling him that he can sense anything and everything, the skill itself does not hold much hope at the moment. Titus just thought that maybe because his level was too weak to fully utilize it or he just too inexperienced. Thus he took upon the chance to distinguish between the two while he was familiarizing himself with it. Other than this skill Titus also planned to practice his only active skill ''hunt'' after paranoic senses as he recognized this 2 skills most vital in his foundation apart from synchronization. But, synchronization unlike its complements are much easier as it is basically a cheat ability and does not really need much effort. (author talking to Titus: its cuz you were already a cheat back on earth thus the birth of the skill you ignorant idiot!!!!) When it was morning, Titus got up a little bit late than yesterday apparently that he really was exhausted from yesterday''s practice even though it was only half of the day. Repeating his actions yesterday but on a ''skimming'' manner he then proceeded and spent half of the morning''s time doing so. After that was training so he left the perimeter of his home as he did not want to attract monsters near his home whilst training. Even before he arrived at the edge of the forest on his way to the river he already found his ''prey'' which he caught on with paranoic senses instead of his enhanced hearing. The power of the skill was already apparent to this situation that Titus'' hearing ability was rendered useless by the wind blowing due to his speed of travel, what''s more if paranoic senses reaches a more wide coverage farther than his hearing even if it is available. Although Titus was still stuck at a bottleneck in his 2nd stage of training he was nonetheless still able to notice the deer laying under the tree. It looked like it was bathing under the sun''s ray looking comfortable,it looked peaceful. But- On the opposite of this deer was Titus who was itching to break through the third stage and finish the training by the day after tomorrow. With that in mind Titus immediately chose to do the training similar to blind martial artists who only rely on their senses. It was audacious to say but it will help him break through faster both in his hypothesis and a book that he read one time at some library in China when he ''visited'' there. He was determined to fight, kill and eat the deer not just to improve his skill, satiate his hunger for supper; as he did not eat lunch preoccupied by the training but also to confirm one of his suspicions. Wether an Forest Imp like himself can eat meat and get certain benefits by eating it... Both from, in his understanding and because he read it somewhere from his high-school library when he was searching answers for his assignment a lifetime ago. Authors note: Please do let me know if this kind/the writing of this chapter suits your taste or followed the promise I made to minimize overspecification and balance it along with story progression. Chapter 9 Chapter 9: Beginning (3). Titus found a tree with flat leaves and plucked two leaves from it. Titus stacked the two on top of each other to reinforce blockage of vision and put it on by tying it around his head as a mask. After yesterday''s training, Titus was already beginning to subconsciously accept this newly acquired power. Although unstable it will not be soon after this deciding fight. Titus crept closer and closer to the deer in the most blatant of ways. He approached it as if approaching his lover that had just come back home from overseas clearly suggesting that he wants to get its attention. The deer however still lying under the tree bathing at the sun''s glory did not mind him. As a mere glance of the deer to Titus made it dissatisfied as it found Titus annoying especially when it glanced upon Titus'' face covered by leaves. ''What an idiot.'' Is what the deer should have in its mind right now as it quickly got back to its indifference and focused on relaxing itself. Of course Titus did not see this. Even though he had paranoic senses nonetheless he was not able to detect it for two reasons. One was because of both Titus and the skill being low level and second his low proficiency aka stage two, the process of training. Titus was walking according to his senses kept getting closer until it was only half a meter away from the deer as indicated by his senses. Once he felt the deer he immediately divided his mind into two focuses. One is to the deer itself and two to his surroundings, and it was all possible through his another skill he acquired recently ''focus'' that allowed him to multitask. Titus bent his waist until his whole upper body was parallel to the ground used his right hand as a foothold to the ground with his left hand being used to balance his body just like professional runners do at the starting line. Titus'' muscles tensed and with great force coming from the cooperation of his whole body which of course can only be done through his skill, ''synchronization''. Although it is a cheat skill it is only is a cheat skill for people like Titus whose minds were computers that can recall every single detail as ''synchronization'' will not just perform just because you visualized only the general idea of the action and not with ''how'' to perform the action. This is why you read kids and adults as it exercises your brains! Titus shot through like an arrow and swiftly closed the gap between him and the deer. In a matter of literal three seconds Titus was at the deers face whose head was still down and descively swung his extended claws towards the neck of the deer slitting five gashes along it. The deer was not even able to utter a cry as the deer''s tender neck which as softer than the rabid dog and added with Titus'' strengthened claws smoothly accompanying the action. The battle started and ended in a manner of literal five seconds including with the two seconds of Titus posturing and testing the first ever he "consciously" used ''synchronization. At this point Titus already took of his ''blindfolds.'' ''The was anticlimactic!'' Titus dully thought but nonetheless reasoned with himself that because the deer despite a level 0, was a peaceful animal to begin with and second its arrogance towards Titus not paying him attention. That was because, as upon closer look it was a baby deer and thought in its baby mind that deers are regals while Imps were boorish peasants that only plays tricks as implied by Titus'' blindfolds. Clearly the baby deer was as green as a leaf.(idiom of inexperienced)The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. Once he got over that thought, Titus felt everything and ''the'' anything that was mentioned from the description of the skill as his already raised vigilance soared so high that it increased his sensitivity making him slightly uncomfortable, a sign that he broke through. However it is to be expected because if not then there would be no point in having a stage three where just letting the things go with flow. In short getting used to where the possibility rise of consuming a higher amount of time, as according to Titus'' estimation; the day after tomorrow. . . . Titus got a pice of meat through the most primitive way he could think of. He bit the belly of the deer where most of its flesh lies with his bare Impish fangs making him look bloody as indicated by the blood running through his mouth and chin. Titus who only desired to test his hypothesis quickly got a vine and made an effort to hang the deer. But before that he first opened its bitten stomach and removed the innards through a branch he found laying on the ground. After doing so Titus with the piece of meat in hand moved far away from the scene and found a relatively secluded place and built a small campfire. Using two branches and rubbing them together he created fire just like a pre historic human and used fallen branches and leaves to fuel the fire. He skewered the piece of meat unto the more sturdier branch and let it sit atop the fire to cook. Closing his eyes he started mediating and used his consciousness to tamper with paranoic senses. Doing so he passed time and was able to control a fourth of the added sensitivity until he was forced to stop by the urge to eat the cooked meat that he discovered the already cooked meat through his paranoic senses. ''Amazing indeed'', he thought as he nodded in his thoughts. Titus ate the piece of meat and gulped it in whole without bothering to chew. Closing his eyes he started sensing his body. After a while he then discover- Discovered a benefit but was only slight and came to a conclusion that although it does have benefits it cannot directly make you leap a level and at most can only increase statistics such as strength and etc, at least from monsters like this but he doesn''t know things about like ''dragon'' meat. Although he chose to bite the meat off the deer because of the lack of materials, he also did it to test if he can also enhance himself by eating it raw slash gulping some blood but he did not notice it as he forgot because he was too preoccupied by cooking the meat until he has playing with paranoic senses and the same with the cooked meat there was a slight change but a bit higher than the cooked one. As he was busy with his thoughts he was suddenly reminded of, his mother, when she told him to eat food to get stronger when he was still a toddler. Reaching up to this point he started looking back unto the most unforgettable scene of his life... While sitting beside the campfire, Titus remiscice to his past as he began recounting his experience. Flashback* In the kitchen. Titus'' Mother was sitting on the table while Titus asked about what food his mother wanted. Hearing her reply he immediately searched the food and got into cooking as if he already cooked the requested dish even though it was his first time cooking this kind of this as he let his mother chose French cuisines he heard from the blogs. Titus then served dinner to his mother after he was finished cooking. "Better to eat while it''s hot." Titus reminded tenderly. Vivid scene* (remember, it''s VIVID) The scene was stiff... While eating his mother asked him to find wife and such and not just studying and studying and studying and more merits because she wants none of that. His mother then began sobbing. His Mother said, "what you had done is already enough. It even reached to the point that you can perform minute actions just by reading the recipe of this French cuisine once. You were recognized by the world as the greatest scientist that redefined quantum mechanics as your thesis. You even settled the turmoil by proving yourself right and your thesis correct after graduation. But still even with all that, you still keep studying. Studying is enough and try to enjoy yourself instead. " Titus mumbled, ''but it is the only thing I enjoy. Wife? My heart did not even beat for someone in my whole life apart from my family...'' End of vivid scene* Years later... And with that, Titus'' experiences can be summed up into this bullsh*t part of his life that he did bother to remember, except by the time line, the details even though it was not hard for him either to do so... His mother died. Titus created a machine. And he came here. ... "Life''s is nothing but a beach. (b*tch)" - Titus White ... And maybe because he was deranged and wanted to none but himself to control his life at those moments he was brought on this world ''specifically'' among the vast world''s in queue... End of flashback* Authors note: If anyone''s curious, all of Titus current skill are all base skills and are all ranked at the very bottom meaning low and 0 stars as it was just his first level up and all of his skills were either innate or acquired by performing a feat thus only they are beale to rank up as he gets stronger. I think this chapter is also a break through for me also in terms of writing as I clearly felt while editing this that I felt like reading one of the published books that I shamelessly borrowed to read from my classmates. And it was only possible through your guys feedbak and support! And hey, yes you! "Crywolfseven" your awesome!!! And thank you so much for your deeds ??. Chapter 10 Chapter 10: Beginning (4). On the vast ocean above, clouds were nowhere to be seen, as if frightened by the sun''s presence. The sun was staring down from its peak height imposing a grand aura, signifying that it''s already high noon. The surrounding was solemn but out of nowhere a noise broke through the intangible line between silence and sound. Rustle* Rustling of the bushes behind Titus could be heard as his ears twitched. Titus without hesitation, immediately got out from his emotional state and stopped his pasts recollection. Feeling the still sensitive, new found and still yet controllable senses, Titus quickly sprung up from his seat and immediately kicked the campfire without hesitation whether it was still hot or not. He quickly dashed in a diameter of the incirclement he was staying and his stature could be seen rushing towards the bushes and is the opposite side of where the noise came from. The commotion continued and Titus who was hiding was getting tenser as time flows. It is an instinct to fear the unknown and with the addition of Titus'' realization of his mistakes, thus making vow again, of being too absorbed in his daze while in the wilderness made him more frustrated. It is the second time he committed a major mistake since coming from this world apart from not raising vigilance at all times before the commotion caused by the frog. Shua* A shadow emerged from the bush however the scene baffled the bulging eyes of Titus. The shadow''s stature was similar to Titus if he was standing upright and not slouched. But that was not the problem, the problem was that the former was wearing a crude helmet made out of thin but durable sheet of metal with two horns attached on each side, similar to a vikings hat. A jagged short sword could be seen hanging on the formers waist, nearly touching the ground. It was a goblin! Titus was shocked to encounter the species so soon as goblins are practically humanoid creature to a point. Although he did not mind meeting humans, i.e grandfather and granddaughter, it was a whole different story to find a goblin alone due to it alone being weird as goblins move in groups! Or at least what the books on earth say. Upon closer inspection the goblin seem to be sniffing around the area, as Titus squinted his eyes. ''He is probably looking for the damn deers meat I was cooking!'' Titus did consider that it was a mistake as he did the hiding procedures and besides cooking was essential especially in the wilderness even if it attracts monsters even though it was low as he was hidden properly which can be found no fault as there is no absolute in the wilderness and he knew that thus the letiency. Titus cursed in his mind. Yes it''s a he, as to why, it is by no means intentional but instead the thing that signifies that its a ''he'' was freely dangling in between its damn legs. Looking at the scene it made Titus uncomfortable. Thankfully, apart from goblin leaders, common goblins are much dumber so it was still lingering around the area despite it was stepping on the still warm coal from the destroyed campfire. Seeing the donned attire of the aimless goblin Titus was salvating upon looking at the weapon. In the end Titus succumbed into the temptation and slowly inched away from the bush where he was hiding and climb a nearby tree. Titus deemed the goblin ''defeatable'' as looking at its ''rod'' it was premature nor has it had undergone puberty which was identified through high school anatomy, goblins was still a humanoid creature so human anatomy is still plausible, therefore it was still within his bounds of strength.Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere. The goblin was still young and inexperienced and can only be at most at level 4 as level 5 has a boundary considering its young hence the aged man slash grandfather said so. Titus manuervered through from tree to tree by following suit the interconnecting branches of the trees. When he was ''somewhat'' above the ''aimless'' goblin''s head whose nose still sniffing, Titus made use of the time of waiting and analized in his mind. Although this world is rpg based and there were three catalogs (Title, Skills, info) despite that statistics which as ''hp'' and ''mp'' was nowhere to be seen meaning that they were not measured by quantitative and qualitative values and are not absolute and can be influenced such as things like eating monster meat. Titus summed it up, since the health bar was nowhere to be seen hence its absence on himself then if the goblin was hit on a fatal spot such as the neck it will certainly die. When the goblin moved to smell to another spot it came to the calculated place where Titus were and the goblin was directly under Titus. Titus who was a crouching tiger laying and was patiently waiting jumped like a leopard from the tree branch as his body did a turn from his back facing the goblin to his front in midair, through synchronization of course, he did so so lessen the speed of his falling. Titus straightened his slouched body and pointed his heels in an angle to avoid breaking his spinal cord upon impact on the ground and aimed it at the shoulders of the unsuspecting goblin. The same as the scene of him killing but was more less fortunate than the deer, the goblin did not even know how it died much less utter a cry as it was sent to the ''yellow springs'' (hell) still looking for the deer meat. Thud* A loud thud reverbated the surrounding and was immediately followed by bones breaking turning the surrounding solemn. Titus did not hurt himself from the protruding bones from the mashed meat of the goblin, as he landed just because he used his third major skill and only active skill, ''hunt'', unto himself when the force from his fall transfered to the goblin and timed it right after it was done transferring so. Although it requires extreme precision, who says that a man who could cook a dish that only read the recipe once, does not have precision. The only thing Titus was worried about, thus he considered training his first, was he would not be able to do such things unlike his past life as he initially thought that synchronization did not cover its scope. ''Truly a disgrace for the earth''s "numbah" one to not even figure out such things which where basically at the same level of differentiating between ''and'' and ''or''. Although his brain was like a computer, a computer was not perfect so does he, as perfection was nonexistent in his dictionary thus there is no shame about it.'' Is what Titus would think if he had time to do so, unfortunately he had none. ( Note: I am indeed making a claim here that he is in fact not omnipotent) Ding* A notification appeared but was ignored nonetheless. Titus who was still hurting from the impact, even though he used hunt last minute nonetheless there was still effects as he was not omnipotent, quickly got up as soon as he landed. Why? Because he heard shouting not far from where he was thus he decided to scram away from the scene. (Note: I will not keep on specifying the reason he was able to do such things as it is a bother to always see me write, synchronization, and also it is a passive so it will be redundant if this keeps going...) Once, he noticed faint shouts from afar he quickly snatched the weapon of the goblin and hid among the trees which, remind you, a Forest Imp''s home. Then he saw group of goblin all armed individually and was looking matured and have experienced the cruelties of life as they bothered to hide their rods underneath animal skins tied on their waist unlike the goblin Ttius'' just killed. The group then saw the dead body of their ''young'' comrade lying cold on the ground, blood seeping through the soil dampening it. The group raged but could not find the perpetrator, Titus, who was hiding and was trying his best to conceal himself to the point of sweating all over. In the end they surpressed their surging emotions as they were not high level enough to discover Titus'' presence which even the aged man who was level 30 was not able to and dragged the dead body as they go home to their dwelling. ''Wow, they really changed their minds so fast!'' Titus inwardly exclaimed but thought so otherwise as he saw something that answered a question in his mind. Titus who was hiding followed the groups trail after a couple of minutes as to why? It was because the shout he heard from the goblins was accompanied by muffled shouts of a girl which was nonexistent. Which was further fueled Titus when he noticed a squirming ''sack'' behind the group and he had his own suspicions that was answered once he saw so. Sigh* Sighing, Titus needed to satiate his curiosity of what''s gonna happen next as it overwhelmed him and just decided and followed them silently. ''Plus, it''s still daytime and I''ll just crash down to bed once I get home if my body feel even the slightest relaxation after this two consecutive battles which will certainly affect my sleeping schedule...'' Titus thought so while looking at the still bright sky. Chapter 11 Authors note: I am sorry in advance to those who do not like things like what I did with this chapter but it is needed as I want it to be a world of "dog eat dog"! (also, it is not so vulgar, at least the terms used so but certainly it will make you uncomfortable, just like me while writing this) oh, how cruel the world can be? Fret not I will gladly open your eyes?? Welcome to depression my friends! Hahahahahaha! Me? Sinking into depravity? Indulging in my fantasies? Don''t worry as I will bring "Titus" himself to hell with me!!!! Cough* Anyway here is the chapter... . . . . . Chapter 11: Meeting (1). WARNING!!! NSFW Akin to that of a wild stampede, the goblin marched their way through the forest. If one were to stare at them, then they would certainly feel the imposing aura. However, no matter how grand they are, in the end they are just a mob. For, in the eyes of Titus in the least. The group marched through the forest completely neglecting the noise their making onwards to their destination. And so, Titus who as tailing behind such negligence couldn''t help but feel praise and gratitude for making his job easy. Rustle* The group converged into a much wider circle. Upon noticing their checkpoint, Titus has his eyes opened wide as he recognized the place. It is wide and spacious and is relatively safe when it came to environmental advantages especially to frontal battles. Precisely because it is the same place where the fated meet of Titus and the aged man. Rustle* Another rustlings could be heard in all the remaining three respective directions apart from where Titus'' mob came from. Coming to his Visage was another three more group of goblins whit each group composed of by the same types of goblins, donned in a helmet and a melee weapon. However the most noticeable features among all the present groups is that all groups respectively have at least one while the other two of young goblins with their ''rods'' hanging freely. Such appearances made Titus almost want to vomit. However he endured as he noticed something pericular among each groups composition. Apart from the ''unclothed'' goblins (Author: don''t want to say n@k€d bluntly) another thing worth mentioning was that each group carries a sack, each corresponding with the number of the former. Adding from the purpose of their actions here out in the wilderness and the ''supposed'' behavior goblins innately possess with a hint of the goblin''s culture as sopposed to books he read, Titus dawned upon realization. Ceremony! A Ritual! Or to be more precise... "Coming of age!" Had not Titus needed to be quiet as to tail the group, he already had exclaimed that out loud. Although there is no need to have such reaction that Titus had, but if you consider what inside the sack then any human being that came from peaceful times no matter how abnormal they are, will have some sort of ripple in their state. It is especially so if Titus considered the muffled noise he heard from the sack... He shivered upon the thought. The group rendezvoused here for the purpose of regrouping thus they did not even wait for Titus to regain himself from his thoughts. The group already made signs to move after a friendly bout of gesture although some of the goblins face still contorted probably because of the tragedy of the goblin Titus killed they proceeded nonetheless, not that they knew of Titus'' existence tailing them anyway...The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. The group that had became merrier from the addition of three other groups resumed their journey and was now heading towards the depths of the forest. Each time the group advances it was as if the earth would break unable to bear their sheer number. The bloodied dead body already dried and left no more traces along the ground but Titus did not rejoice of a monster possibly jumping out in a second as what replaced his source of tracking was the muffled voices that came from the sacks gathered by the groups, each with different tones but ones thing is certain, all of them came from young women. ... The scenery drastically changed as the group ventured deeper. The tree tops became more abundant lessening the light passing through. The vegetation became more lush and the atmosphere humid as the overlapping branches enclosed the area. It gave off an eerie vibe. Soon, the group approached a relatively big cave with thick vines on the entrance and into the inside of the cave. Titus on the other hand stopped between the premise of the cave and the forest and hidden. The group halted their steps in unison as a fellow goblin comrade came out and greeted the valiant warriors. The goblin seemed aged suggested by the long beard, wrinkles and slouched body needing the cane the goblin was holding. The goblin sage, the goblin who greeted them, spoke in seemingly intangible words. "AF1 *" %/J) @&¡é{€[" However reality was the contradiction as Titus who heard it ''actually'' understood it. "Get inside and let us start the ceremony." The sage said. Immediately, Titus thought of possibilities by comparing towards all sorts of books he had read including novels. With a sigh Titus temporarily reasoned himself, that the sage spoke the general or universal monster language and was not the exclusive dialect of the goblins, assuming that the goblin was really a sage then it would not be a surprise to contain wisdom far more advanced than the goblin warriors (the group) although they were able to understand such through guidance by the sage. Titus being an Imp which was an entity birthed by nature, negative ones, was innately able to understand such general language as gifted by nature. Respective leaders of each of the four groups stepped forward and followed the sage inside the cave. After a few rummaging sounds came the screaming of the young girls as they gasped for breath. Hearing the screams the ''unclothed'' goblins took it as a ''signal'' and entered the cave themselves. The remaining goblins outside did not stand still as after the ''youths'' left they started moving towards east after they were free from their responsibilities of guessing the ''youths''. Along with the stomps of numerous feet, screams of the women became more and more apparent as echos of their tragedies echoed inside the cave. However it did not stop there even after the goblin group disappeared to the wilderness instead the screams escalated into groans that was hinted with unwillingness. Titus who was hiding could not bear it as his Impish instincts told him that there was michevous things happening inside the cave. Imps by nature were michevous thus their natural attraction to mischief was strong, even comforting. Maybe because Titus felt it when he heard the muffled scream back at the forest thus he followed the group here but he needed a reason to do so. The result. He excused using of disrupting his sleeping schedule that was not entirely true as the way he sentenced it, "slightest relaxation", gave a leeway that that was a false argument as he could just train until it''s time to sleep in behalf of his instincts and nature as an Imp. (Author: I hope that I did not dwell in the matter so much but I really need to get this out of the way as it will greatly affect Titus'' "character" from here on out. I tried my best to make it short while at the same time understandable. Also, this note was a hint itself soppose to the message in regards for future ''character development''.) Without wind rustling the leaves thus it was void of noise, Titus would not be able to take his leisure time to sneak to the cave. As a result he would have to sprint and time it when a scream slash groan will sound. Titus came down the tree he was hiding and formed the running position again althea same way he used to the deer, while tensing his muscles. Ahhh* Along with the noise he dashed straight to the cave with his target the thick vines. Titus who put his whole strength in dashing seemed to glide through the ground without making any noise. When Titus neared the entrance, he bent his body while dashing and jumped towards the vines. Titus did so without stopping thus the momentum was carried along with him. Fortunately he was not dumb and aimed for the vines not just to grab unto but to also cushion his built up momentum without making noise. Heaving a mouthful of breath he calmed himself down. Phew... Since the vines lead towards the inside he used it to sneak inside the cave. The cave was lit by a big campfire in the middle of the supposed camp of the goblins. The inside of the cave was spacious enough to house all the goblins including the ones in the wilderness while still having enough space for comfort. Moan* The groans had now turned to moans as the women''s voice carried pleasure and ecstasy. If not for the sadness behind such voices, then it really sounded like a bridal chamber during the night. Titus who noticed the difference quickly shifted his gaze as his instincts were calling unto him. Seemingly excited by the scene he will encounter, it totally contradicted the Titus who disgusted the ''unclothed'' goblins. Speaking of unclothed goblins... Papapapappa* Sounds of banging came to his ears and saw the ''unclothed'' goblins (author: excuse me) "banging" the hell out of the women. Like a piston of a hydrololic the ''youths'' filled with enthusiasm kept going faster and faster as they thrust deeper and deeper into the women''s forbidden cave. Horrendously, the women looked about "13 to 15" (!) years old respectively. The age where they would bloom and pure but now, evident on the women''s faces was ecstasy. Apart from the tears flowing on the sides of their faces, it could be said that they are having fun. The worst thing was that Titus who was watching very intently was not disgusted at all. It seemed like he transformed into a bona-fide Imp unlike a human he was before with morality and steel will and conviction; and was clearly enjoying the scene to the point of him drooling. The euphoria did not stop there, as one of the youths took his ''rod'' out from the ''flesh'' cave it had been previously inserted into and stood up. Unlike the previous time Titus saw the ''rod'', the looks of it right now was akin of a bomb wanting to explode as veins are visible on its surface with a very significant increase in length and girth. The woman who found the sudden change was about to utter something was blocked off midway as the ''rod'' was inserted into a new ''flesh'' whole continuing the stopped pleasure. The throat of the woman was clearly bulging each time the youth thrusts. With a groan the youth released his pent up liquid straight down the pipe as the youth made a big and deep thrust. The woman choked but nonetheless ecstatic. The ''rod'' that just released its essence was still alive and vigorous thus the youth flipped the woman over and found another flesh hole and started piercing through the tight ''bowels'' of the woman. Along with a scream of pleasure. The other women also let loose of their howls of desire as they climaxed into the still counting number. But ones thing is for sure. The pure and innocent women- Broke. And their sadness was swept away by the waves of lust they were feeling. Along with the tears they''ve been shedding nonstop until now. Unwillingness was apparent... Authors note: [1] I met interchanging the use between ''unclothed goblins'' and ''youths'' but fret not as they are all and the same. [2] The plot thickens... Is all I can say- . . . . For now. [3] I will still use "it" for creatures, excluding the main ones such as side characters(maybe??), instead of using he or she. [4] No dialouges this time as they are not needed at the stage where they can talk freely like the sage. Mainly as you''ve read it was only composed of monologs like other chapters but again I''m this chapter is full of ''actio---n. [5] Again, I am sorry... ?? Chapter 12 Chapter 12: Meeting (2). Pant* Heavy pants filled the cave as the heat the room just felt was just superficial. Imaginary. Such so the show has come to a close. Curtains dropping so. If not for the scene on display then people would really have to doubt themselves. The previously vigorous ''youths'' was now wasted laying on the ground, limbs spread. Contrary, the women was curled, waist bent, similar to panggolins with traces of tears on each of the women''s faces. The sage goblin (from here on out, sage only) who was an overseer of such event nodded in satisfaction. As he swept his eyes upon the ''mess'' its eyes glinted as a spark of interest flashed through them. Stomp* Stomping could be heard as the goblins who was hunting in the wilderness came back with each of their respective catches. Some caught a rabbit, some a wildcat and some a deer. The group entered the cave and the leader of such stepped forth to greet the sage. "Good, store today''s catch and ask our mothers to prepare us food for tonight." The sage spoke in an indefferent tone imposing authority. The leader backed out and lead the rest deeper into the cave. Even though such scene was on display, the group seemed to be not at all concerned about such circumstances as if it was a common appearance. When the footsteps got fainter, the sage who stood atop an altar suddenly raised his head. On the sage''s face, a grin, could be make out. Titus who was still immersed in his indulgence of what he had just witnessed suddenly felt weak. His limbs that was used to stick atop the ceiling became fluid like a liquid. His eyes gone dark. Not knowing what just happened he fell from the ceiling creating a dust cloud as he landed face first, not that he was sober anyway. ... Laying waste on the floor Titus could be seen joined the rest after the dust cloud settled. The sage on the other hand who was the reason as such, raised its staff. The staff started vibrating and started making noise. A second later the staff burst forth brilliant light that made the entire area which was dimly lit shine brightly. This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. As the light settled the previous mess was no longer to be seen. The previous occupied ground was now barren void from the previous existences. After performing such, the sage turned, 180¡ã and walked inwards to the altar. Leaving the place in silence. Morning. The sun rose just the same as any other day. A normal day. However for Titus who was laying in comfort in a pile of dried grass did not felt so. He was startled when he woke up in such a place. ''How did I got here?'' Titus inwardly asked as he felt helpless. He was quickly searching through his memories but was in vain. Titus'' memories was in shambles. He could not remember a thing after he hid to watch the intimate scene. After that contained none as his memory was muddy and blurry. Prior to what Titus had expected to happen, the outcome was vastly contradictory. He tried to sit up and started struggling to support himself. Also, it was all in vain as he was feeling pain all over his body especially to his face which was burning. Titus'' ear twitched so suddenly not because of the pain but because he found that unknowingly the old goblin, sage, was already standing upront. If not for his vigilance always up then he would have not notice its presence. "Speak your thoughts child..." The sage spoke as it saw the startled appearance of Titus. Clearly he had not still recovered from the shock as the events came one after another but that did not meant that he was not calm. However even with such facade was directly seen through by the sage as it spoke again. "Just speak and let this elder have a talk with you..." Fling hesitant, Titus replied nonetheless. "Who are eyou?" Hearing the words came out from his mouth, it furthered his shock and puzzlement. Even after he leveled up he was still not able to speak but miraculously he was able to just like the sage said so. "As you can see, I am an elder of this goblin tribe. An overseer. A leader. An elder. I was the one who brought you here to answer your question prior to our meeting. Please do not hesitate to ask more." Titus was now immune to the shock instead increased his vigilance towards the goblin. His eyes contained viciousness as he was staring to lose composure evident from the hostility in his eyes. "Ahh... There you go again. Succumbing to the darkness of nature again." Titus quickly snapped out of his state and became sober. The situation just got more confusing. Thus, Titus decided to ask rather than figuring out himself as being ignorant will not work in this situation. " Then tell me what was that. " " Fret not child as it was only the darkness of your heart, your nature in fact. Although it was not an anomaly in the first place among your kind, you however struck out weird. From the moment you hid within the leaves I knew you were. Perhaps I neglected the fact before but once I felt you enter the cave through such ''daring'' methods to avoid detection was simple cunning even for an imp. "I truly wonder if you are an Imp in the first place." The sage paused and peered through Titus eyes. "I can feel that you are smarter. So smart that I believe that you are a creature with high intelligence and such I was not wrong. I see deep within that pride and knowledge no less than mine. I dare not to imagine why you were acting panic-stricken after you woke up but reality hurts. You may not know but it was just a side effect. Normally Imps do not posses such intelligence and was solely focused on following their instincts. The nature of an imp is as dangerous it can as imps are naturally born out pure yin energy of nature. So having such black out during the intercourse of my children and the women was to be expected as you may not know but the first time you followed your curiosity right after it bloomed (the time he saw the smoke) it was bound to happen of such occurrence to escalate to what happened to you yesterday. The massive leap of stimulation was the main reason as I know an imp as smart as you would have noticed it if the process was gradual. It was also evident that that your birth was not that long before because no matter how high your intelligence and self control is you cannot control your nature as it will be rendered useless. Titus suddenly interjected. "But wouldn''t that go against ''authority." "Good question, but let me ask you one question my child- What level are you?" Titus was rendered speechless upon the question as the Greatest Scientist on earth was long gone and was not to be found the moment Titus decided to tail the group. And behold, witness the downfall of a one in a millenia genius. Authors note: This chapter is quite long winded but it is necessary for Titus'' future character development. Pleas edible me know if some part confuses You.
