We were on our way back from a mission which was a possible terrorist attack, because of the danger we were issued with SCARs. We found there was nothing wrong and was returning in the Humvee we were in when we saw what looked like a heavily injured person walking up the road, then it started banging on the windshield we found to our horror that they had no jaw and the man''s eyes were lifeless and bloodshot. There were also 5 more bloody and disfigured zombie looking things crawling towards us. Hello Worms! You are mostly at peace nearly all the time and you do no hard work! Military Combat Armour: Grade 1 Armour Standard armour from the U.S army, can block small caliber bullets and can stop viral infections lvl 10 5 times and lvl 1 20 times FN Scar: Grade 1 Weapon A top U.S rifle that can rip apart all Ungraded defences. 50 bullets given per 6 hours The rest of my stuff is normal. To test something I open the window and fire at the 6 zombies. I aim at their heads and only use 1 bullet per zombie. Due to the power of the Scar they get ripped apart and brain matter flies everywhere. I see 5 white boxes and 1 green box on the floor next to the corpses and I open them all. I got a Strength Solidification Skill Book, Lvl 3 Ice Manipulation Skill Book, Firearms Mastery Skill Book, Lvl 3 Flame Manipulation Skill Book and a Steel Body(Passive) Skill Book from the white boxes and I got a Grade 1 Protective Vest from the green box. Me and my 3 comrades looked with disbelief at this, but we divide the spoils with me getting the Grade 1 Protective Vest, Steel Body Skill Book and Strength Solidification Skill book, Mike getting the Lvl 3 Ice Manipulation, Ross (because he can''t aim well) the Firearms Mastery Skill Book and David got Lvl 3 Flame Manipulation skill book. After learning the Skill Book Strength Solidification I saw this window. That skill book made him 2-times stronger than a normal human, he had decent stats as well. Also the Steel Body Skill made his skin tough enough to block small caliber bullets and all pre-apocalypse melee weapons save for the masterwork ones, he then put the Grade 1 Protective Vest over his combat armour and felt that he got a +1 in all stats. There were 7 six whites and two greens, I opened them to find 3 energy drinks that refilled stamina, Level 2 Skill Flash Steps, Level 3 Enhanced Bullet, Grade 1 Katana and a Grade 1 Combat knife from the white boxes and Level 3 Skill Air Manipulation and Agility Solidification from the green boxes. Level 2 Skill Flash Steps: Increases Agility by 20 for 10 seconds for 5 stamina. Level 3 Air Manipulation: Gives ability to control air, how much damage is done decided by how much stamina you use. Level 3 Enhanced Bullet: Makes a single shot of a gun more powerful. Agility Solidification: Gives a increase of 10 Agility permanently. Ross got the combat knife and an energy drink, Mike got an energy drink and flash steps, David got Enhanced Bullets and an energy drink and I got Air Manipulation, Agility Solidification and the Katana. 10 Undistributed attribute points. (2 attribute points per level) 10 into stamina I thought. Level: 6 Strength: 20 Agility: 20 Vitality: 10 Stamina: 20 Spirit: 10 Endurance: 10 A howl tears my eyes away from the screen and my head turns to see a zombie which starts stumbling down the road and snail speed so I have plenty of time to run up to it and slash at it''s head with my katana, with my 2-times strength and speed the zombie is decapitated before it could retaliate. I also test my speed to see what 2-times speed really is, while running I realise that even the fastest man in the world would be slightly inferior. I opened the door getting into the humvee and waited until the rest were inside (especially mike who was the driver and had the keys) and we drove to Edmond which is north of Oklahoma City as we were in the vicinity. On the way there we saw not many zombies only about 6-8, which makes sense because why would so people be in the road? Anyway we chose Edmond mainly because it only has 90,000+ people compared to Oklahoma City''s 640,000+. If we were attacked by a huge amount of zombies even our body armour and bullets won''t save us. Even If I was level 60 instead of 6 if I was attacked by that many there is no hope of retreat and even our bones would disappear under that large of a corpse tide When we arrived on a small road of Edmond we were ambushed by a group of 5 thugs armed with machetes, the scum probably have done this many times before and maybe they were murderers before the apocalypse. When they realised their mistakes and that we were armed soldiers they tried to flee like scared children, I responded making a 10 meter long air blade which shot forward and sliced them all in two. Holy damn that is op... maybe I have some problems... I just killed 5 people with the wind... Anyway that took 5 stamina so it is 1 stamina for a two meter long air blade. I would''ve killed this scum on a daily basis if it wasn''t for the law previously Murderer!!! You have killed (Many) someone(s) without remorse and have been put under the Murderer Faction. Uhh I don''t know about this murderer faction but the bonuses are amazing. Suddenly a howl so powerful that even a god couldn''t rival echos in the entire city and every fibre of my soul, my hairs stand up on end so I look around frantically to see what could''ve made such a powerful screech. While i''m searching Ross screams like a little girl that got her teddy bear ripped apart right in front of her. I turned around to see a zombie chase at him, I was about to cut it in two when I noticed that it was different. It had crimson, almost black, red skin and small horns with runes on it''s head, nails longer than 10 cm, dreadlocks and pure red eyes, suddenly information on this Infected flooded into my brain. Level 10 Infected D1: Spirit evolved infected that uses harmless spirit attacks to terrify prey stunning them before ripping them apart. When I connected the dots of the howl and this zombie, anger and shame coursed through my veins like a drug. Rage suppressed the spirit attacks and I ran with my 2-times speed slashing viciously, the D1 attacked with it''s claws and it''s speed which was 50% faster than an average human exploded out. Although it was slower it was aimed at my throat and I had to block it with my sword. When my sword and it''s nails collided my superior strength forced it half a meter back, it seems that it only has the strength of an average person. Without giving it any ground my faster and stronger slashes injured it heavily, however as it is only a normal type 1 zombie it at this point and can not feel pain nor fear death. Although this means the D1 have a powerful offence it means it doesn''t try to defend at all so no matter how long it attacks me if it can''t break my defence it will inevitably die. My danger sense went off like a nuclear explosion, I dodge to the right to see a pale blue hand with sharp nails barely miss my throat. I look at this new opponent which seems to have speed which isn''t inferior to mine. It looked fairly normal however it had blue skin and it seemed to have 2-times speed, like the rest of the zombies it doesn''t have intelligence however it''s eyes seemed to have recovered a tiny bit. Level 10 Infected S1: Agility evolved infected that possesses ghastly speed. With my dropping stamina I don''t have the confidence to take on this newcomer, thinking on all my options I remember my Blood Empowerment skill and I summon up twenty 20cm long wind blades to rip apart the D1. The injured D1 was now slow enough for me who didn''t know how to aim the wind blades be able to hit it. The injured D1 was instantly torn asunder with bodily fluids and brain matter flying everywhere, imagine a sledge hammer hitting a tomato. I level up from level 6 straight to level 9, 6 attribute points into endurance. With blood empowerment all my stats go up by 10 and my speed shoots through the roof, I instantly slash at it''s claws with my temporary 3-times strength against its 1-times strength. The S1''s arm was cut off with it being sent back 2 meters, if it was human it would be spitting blood. However it wasn''t and it lunged again, I reacted by swinging my Katana in an overhead strike, time almost seemed to stop as I watched the now double dead corpse slowly split in two... You heave level up to Level 11! 4 into endurance... Chapter 3- Mystery box and Unstable Agility Orb I went over to the two corpses and pulled out two items. One being a box the size of a fist with a question mark on it, with the other an orb which glows like a rainbow. Mystery Box: A mysterious box that when opened gives a random item. Unstable Agility Orb: Gives user a great boost in agility but has a 20% chance of removing one of your skills. It seems that every now and then what drops from zombies changes, good to know. Well I reach out to the Unstable Agility Orb and crush it, I feel extreme pain but can feel my agility increase. +50 Agility! -Skill Blood Enhancement (later on it would''ve been too op so I got rid of it now) I pick up the Mystery Box and open it. It started flaring and light as bright as the sun blinded me. It lasted only a second and I looked in my hand to see a silvery grey apple with black lines on it. Tetsu Tetsu No Mi--- Type: Logia Tetsu no Mi is a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allows the a person to control, create, and transform into metal at will. (Can only turn into metal you''ve seen before) I''m not sure but I think this is something from an anime... weird. I also remember that you can''t swim after eating a Devil fruit. Well after the end of the world I don''t know what is in the ocean and I don''t want to find out. Without hesitation I eat the apple in a few bites, It tasted like the most discusting thing ever times 10. My body starts to heat up and I feel as the increase in power, it was invigorating. +20 to all stats! +20 to Endurance!Support the author by searching for the original publication of this novel. Also it seems that levels don''t matter 100%, although a level 1 vs level 100 is suicide. On the radio we hear at the centre of Edmond there is a survivor camp, which has roughly 1000 people with 100 soldiers. The other three want to go there but I don''t so they take the Humvee and leave. I was walking down the road when I heard a screech. I turn my head to see a giant rat (about 1m tall)surrounded by 10 smaller large rats (size of a large cat), all of which were looking at me. Level 26Elite Mutant Rat Level 14 Mutant Rat Although everyone of them are higher level than me I''m not afraid at all. My body turns into reinforced steel and I charge at the Elite Rat, before I reach it three smaller rats intercept me. In retaliation I shot steel blades out my body slicing them in two pieces, the other seven also charge at me but I jump back to avoid being surrounded. After that I immediately charged back into the midst of the seven rats steel blades slicing out, another three get turned into mince meat. The other four slashed with their claws but only 1 inch deep scratches (Even my organs and bones were steel), I almost felt invincible. After another few seconds I had shredded the last four rats. I turn to face the Elite Mutant Rat with a smile on my face. It howled and slashed at me, which I dodged and countered by punching at it''s body. It was hurt but my strength is too low to kill it, It grunted painfully but recovered and used its right claw to slash at my left leg which to my suprise took my leg off. I was made metal so It didn''t hurt but it was annoying, the leg reattached easily. I completely turned into liquid metal and pushed as much metal down it''s windpipe as I could, itfutilely tried to spit it outbut it was unable to do so. After about 5 minutes it stopped struggling, but I still crushed it''s head to make sure. Nothing dropped from the 10 mutant rats but next to the Elite Mutant Rat I found a ring with a skull on it, It had strange runic markings and was black with the skull being white. Grade 1 Ring: Ring of Bones: Every hour 15 Level 5 skeleton warriors can be summoned for 20 minutes.
