《I was Scum, now I am even more than Scum》 Chapter 0: Do More ???: ¡°I am scum. Literal scum. I deserve nothing better than hell, and anything worse than its deepest pits. I¡¯ve slaughtered¡ no... I massacred. People feared my name, and ran when they saw my flag. The many innocents that died under me, the injustice, the thievery, the thousands of families I ruined in the name of money and power. The rape, the many men and women I gave to my soldiers to sate their twisted minds. The very same mindset I had installed into them once they became my underlings, the grunts for my legion.¡± ???: ¡°I knew I would be going to hell as soon as I died, if there even was one. I was never big on religion. Always destroying any church I came across probably didn¡¯t help either. No remorse, no mercy, no reason. Pure destruction and chaos just because I could. The cries of those that suffered still have not left my ears. My evil was so great that my own nephew had killed me, appalled by the pure horror that I managed to spread across the world in the mere fifty-two years that I had been alive. I had resigned myself to eternal suffering¡ so why¡¡± ???: ¡°Why are you giving me a chance at reincarnation?¡± I stared at the glowing entity in front of me. It certainly didn¡¯t seem like a demon, there were no iconic horns, fangs or pointed tails. It didn¡¯t glow red and I could sense no ill intent. It sat on a marble chair that only barely hovered above the green plains that stretched on for eternity. The literal ball of light could have been staring up into the sky for all I could know, but somehow, I had a feeling it was watching me. Scratch that, acknowledging me. I don¡¯t think this thing has eyes, I don¡¯t think it can see. Then it spoke. God: ¡°You had done. More than did. You did more than done. That is enough reason. A successful product. You will do more. Do more than done. That is good enough.¡±If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. A voice vibrated in the area around me, It was no language I knew, probably not even speech, but I understood what was being said, I understood because I was made to understand. It was definitely a funny feeling. Probably something I don¡¯t want to think about too much with my puny mortal mind. Its riddled speech went through one of my ears and exited out the other. I heard what it said, I didn¡¯t know what it meant. I continued to stare at the glowing ball of light hoping it could read my mind and answer my questions. It didn¡¯t. ???: ¡°What happens now?¡± God: ¡°Reincarnation.¡± Of course. I got stuck with the god that doesn¡¯t talk. What about the hot sexy female gods or the vengeful angry male ones. Where are they? How did humanity get god so wrong? Why did we even think it would be humanoid in shape? This makes much more sense actually. A ball of floating light. I sigh. The disparity of the situation finally sinking into me. I have no control over what will happen, and I won¡¯t get to know anything because god isn¡¯t one for talking. The most infuriating part is that I still don¡¯t understand why I¡¯m being reincarnated. I was thoroughly convinced that upon my death I would be sent to eternal suffering. Now¡ I guess not. ???: ¡°Fine. I can see I¡¯m not going to get anything out of you. Do what you must, but remember, I will continue to do evil so long as my mind is free. You understand this right? Just because I realize my actions were wrong, doesn¡¯t mean I¡¯ll change.¡± A long silence fell over us. Then, it spoke again. God: ¡°Do. More than done. Then you would have done more than did.¡± A brilliant light enveloped me, and my vision started to blur. God disappeared from my vision, then the sky, the throne and finally the green fields, they all vanished with this blinding light. My consciousness started to falter and then everything turned black. Chapter 1: Wait... I woke up, my body practically jumping in the air. I was breathing heavily, gasping for air as if I were drowning. My vision was still hazy but it didn¡¯t stop me from noticing the somewhat viridescent scenery around me. As my vision returned, I saw more and more. Tall trees, thick trunks. Probably deciduous. It looked similar to the forests back at home, but with one clear difference. The trees weren¡¯t all green. There were trees with sharp metallic blue leaves. I saw a couple of trees with a crimson red growth, purple splendor and vibrant oranges. THe strangest one by far was the tree with some translucent pale yellow leaves. I plucked one from a nearby branch and inspected it. It was definitely semipermeable to light. This¡ is odd. While inspecting it, I looked through and saw a deep, almost black red¡ on me. I looked at the rest of my body. My clothes had a large hole in it, as if I were stabbed, and they were soaked in blood. Probably my own. I looked back and I saw a large pool of blood, probably from where I woke up. Huh. God reincarnated me in a dead body. That¡¯s¡ interesting. I stuff the leaf into my pocket. I was now curious. This was clearly not my body, I felt taller, a lot younger. My muscles were untrained and my body responded so slowly to my mind. That bothered me. I had spent years perfecting my body. It took me almost ten years to develop a technique that would develop my internal power and mental strength. All that work, gone. I sat down immediately and started to meditate. I needed to start training my body again, it was often the only thing that kept me alive from the immense amount of assassination attempts I had faced in the past. I closed my eyes and let that around me go, I felt the world¡¯s energy rush into me¡ ¡! This world¡ it has so much energy¡ its so abundant. I could feel it all around me. In the grass I sat upon, in the trees, even in the leaf I plucked from the branch. Normally, the energy would have dispersed back into the world, but here¡ there was so much energy outside that the energy inside the leaf had nowhere else to go, nowhere else to rush too. I grinned. This was simply incredible. I could feel my strength rising rapidly, a few more days of this and I might even surpass my past self¡ incredible. Simply incredible. I let myself go and focused on the meditation. Now was the time to train. --- - Several hours later - --- I opened my eyes once again, feeling the world energy flow through my veins freely, entering and exiting. I had mastered control over this new abundant source of energy. I was right, no matter how much energy I took, more just kept flowing in. In my old world, sources of energy like this were as rare as black suns and extremely coveted. I had slaughtered millions just to get ahold on one of these. Now¡ hahaha! I was an inventor, dreamer, scientist and a philosopher. I believed if someone had enough energy, they could sustain their body indefinitely, not needing to eat, sleep or even age. I had struggled to develop a technique to do that, and I worked even harder to gather the energy required in order to test it. Even if it was for one meal, I didn¡¯t need to eat because of the energy, but it quickly wore on my stores. But this world¡ this damn amazing world! My body, despite it probably being almost fourteen hours since I¡¯ve been here¡ I feel no hunger, no thirst. Maybe it¡¯s possible to remove the need for breath as well? Sounds stupid because controlling your breathing is vital for training but¡ it might be useful in some situations. Very¡ specific¡ situations.... ANYWAY I get back up, my body feeling fresh and my muscles teeming with my newfound energy. Time to test it out. I turn to a nearby tree and force a palm into it. My hand moving faster than expected. I figured the tree would just topple, but instead, it just made an imprint. Huh. That¡¯s disappointing, and confusing¡ why did that happen? I should have way more than enough energy to destroy ten trees in a row¡ Oh right. It¡¯s not just me that has an abundance of energy anymore. I close my eyes again and look for the energy around me. Just as I thought, the tree was also full of energy, probably even more than I was. Well, that was to expected, when any living creature grows in an environment with this much energy, it¡¯s only natural that they would absorb it over time. I wish I was born here rather than that desolate place. Whatever. I stretch and look into the distance. Forest in all directions. Hmm. This body, it was stabbed and killed. That means humans. I would like to know more about this world, the best way to do that is to find more humans. Now¡ where would they be¡ I looked around the forest again. Seeing absolutely no hints as to where civilization could be, I started to walk in a around direction that felt good. I¡¯m sure I¡¯ll find some humans. --- Several other hours later --- Night¡¯s fallen. I still haven¡¯t found any humans and I¡¯m growing bored. The rainbow forest disappeared pretty much, the trees around here have no vibrant colours and they look like the ones back from my world. Great. The abundance of energy was gone to. While still much more than my original home, the energy around here didn¡¯t even compare to the area in the rainbow forest. I could still probably sustain myself on only energy though. I might need food if I get into fights however. I continue walking before I hear a rustle in the bushes. I quickly raise my fists in the direction of the noise. Out walks out a group of three horrible looking green gnomes. They had big noses, horrible disgusting growths on their face akin to warts, pointed ears and very short stature. The way they walked was broken, their tiny legs seemingly struggling to keep up their massive heads, and their skinny bodies only barely holding up the crudely made weapons in their hands. I hope this body didn¡¯t die to one of these things. They looked at me and grinned. Barking and yapping. I stood my ground. They looked at each other and started to talk. I recognize the language but it sounds almost¡ broken. Goblin #1: ¡°The human stay? He no run? Stupid yemar cub. We kill yes?¡± Goblin #2: ¡°We kill, yes we kill, but first we play. He look stupid.¡± The gnomes started to chuckle and laugh. Cub? Stupid? These f**kers. I could sense the amount of energy they had within them. It was comparable to the leaf I plucked from that tree. These things think they can insult me when I¡¯m right here? They have another thing coming... ???: ¡°Hey, morons! I¡¯m up here, idiots. I look stupid to you huh? You wanna fight then?¡± They turned their eyes and looked at me in surprise. Their eyes widened and their jaws dropped. They quickly looked back to each other. Ignoring me?! I was going to take it easy on the mass murder but these¡ things¡ They are REALLY getting on my nerves Goblin #3: ¡°HE SPOKE! Stupid yemar cub spoke! He speak biggish tongue! What we do? Could yemar cub be biggish disguise?¡± They looked at me and shook their heads. Goblin #2: ¡°No, just stupid yemar cub. He stupid. Look at face. Too stupid to be smart bigger.¡± Goblin #1: ¡°So what we do? We kill human with biggish tongue? Ooh, what a bad bad. If only chief were here. He know what smart biggers do.¡± Chief? They have a leader? I wonder¡ if I kill their leader¡ ???: ¡°Oi. Green things. Take me to your chief. If you idiots don¡¯t know what to do, then take me to him. He¡¯ll know what to do. Right?¡± They looked at each other and smiled. Goblin #3: ¡°Bigger would have never thought that! Stupid yemar not stupid? Maybe actually smart bigger disguised. Hehe, we get reward from Chief for bringing back yemar with biggish tongue even if you not smart bigger.¡± HAHAHA. Are they really taking me to their leader? How stupid are they, putting their own leader in danger? This is hilarious. The small green things let down their guard and I was able to get a better look at them. Apart from their awful faces, they had primitive, almost neolithic clothing. They weren¡¯t at the level of cavemen, but all they had were simple cloth coverings, and pointed stone spears. Had they not developed metal working yet? Their are very underdeveloped. Maybe they weren¡¯t given enough time to learn? They had animal hide satchels by their side. They rummaged around in them before pulling out some crude rope. Crude but efficient. I could tell from even a distance. It would be trouble breaking out of those. They waddled over to me and tied by hands together. I let them do so. They aren¡¯t complete morons but they¡¯re pretty lacking. Once they felt I was properly secured, they lead me away from the direction they came from. It looks like they were a scouting squad. We walked a good distance down the path, often meeting up with other goblin squads, all of them surprised of my presence. They joined the original group of three and walked with us, keeping their spears pointed at me. I guess their on their guard because I didn¡¯t speak to them. Eventually, we came across a large cliff with a cave opening right in the middle. The trees around the area were cleared out, and there were many goblins walking in and out, carrying prey in and carcasses out.If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it. They often bumped into each other and dropped the food on the floor, open wounds and blood touching the ground. It didn¡¯t look like they minded and brought the corpse in anyway. Hmm, even primitive humans knew that the ground was dirty and causes disease. Do they have a resistance to it? We entered the cave, and there I was truly surprised. Light. They had managed to light up their cave. When I looked for the source, I could see no lamp or torch but rather, yellow-tinted, white crystals that jutted out the walls of the cave in various places. Fascinating. Inside, a large room was obviously dug out, the stone somewhat smooth and filled with other, smaller holes, probably the dwellings for the creatures. The center of the room was just a pile of flesh, a disgusting, rotting smell came from it. I could see maggots, goblins and some strange, one-eyed lizards swarming the pile, all of them eating voraciously and as quickly as they could. I scrunched up my nose in disgust. This was pretty horrible, even for me. Past the mass of rot was a large, stone throne, right at the back of the cave. There, I saw what was obviously their leader. Tall. Very tall, taller than me. Green skin and a more humanoid body, toned muscles and proper clothing. By his side was a large club. His eyes were narrow slits and the lower part of his jaw was extended. The law held two extended canines that ended just above the upper lip. His body had many piercings, all of them a shiny bronze-like metal, but more¡ yellow. By his side were the first humans that I had seen in a while. Two of them, human females, but when I looked into their dead, cold eyes, I could see that they didn¡¯t have much life left. I had seen that look many times before. When my men had their way with the losers. When I entered the cave, everything stopped. And I mean everything. Nothing moved, not even the maggots with their primitive brains. Perhaps even they sensed the disturbance? The large creature turned his to me. A confused look on his face. Then, he spoke. Ogre: ¡°Idiots! Does this look like a woman to you? There is no chest! Moronic fools! I told you to bring back human woman! Not a fucking child! Kill it! I don¡¯t want to look at it anymore. Then, come up here so I can show everyone what happens to idiots!¡± He looked angry and the goblins started to surrounded me, some of them carrying actual weapons like daggers. Though, after seeing the other humans here, I don¡¯t think they made that themselves. Before they could kill me and drag the three goblins away, the first of them spoke up in a desperate attempt to save his life. Goblin #1: ¡°Chief no! This not stupid yemar! This smart yemar! Yemar has biggish tongue! Show chief yemar!¡± The goblin turned to me. Desperation in his eyes. I was going to speak anyway but whatever. ???: ¡°Hello there, ¡®chief¡¯. It¡¯s a pleasure to meet you.¡± The green things all gasped in unison and the large green thing looked really surprised. He left his throne and walked up to me, an intrigued look on his face. He turned to one of the smaller green things beside him. Ogre: ¡°Call the shaman! This is interesting¡¡± The ogre then looked at me and spoke again but this time in a language I could not understand. Meanwhile, my attention was on the human women. The whole commotion had taken them out of their blank state and upon seeing me, hope sparked in their eyes, although small, they weren¡¯t dead on the inside anymore. Poor girls, if I survive, I think you might have a worse life. Meanwhile, the ogre looked even more confused. Ogre: ¡°Human, you don¡¯t speak your own language? How come you know goblin tongue. What is this trickery? Are you playing dumb? It didn¡¯t look like it¡ WHERE IS THE SHAMAN!¡± He started to talk to me before rambling on and finally shouting. At that moment, a tribal-looking figure emerged from one of the many holes in the walls. Complete with animal bones, adorned with strangely coloured leaves, a staff and an ominous wooden mask. The thing approached us both. Shaman: ¡°What do you want you stupid ogre! You know the ancient chants are today! If I do not complete them, bad luck will come upon us!¡± Ogre? Is that what they are called? Either way, the big ogre turned to the shaman. ¡°The chants can wait! The human boy can speak goblin tongue. Look.¡± He turned to me and shouted. ¡°Speak maggot!¡± I looked at the shaman. It was the same size as the smaller ogres but I could feel much more power coming from it. ???: ¡°Hello, Shaman. Who¡¯s the leader of the cave, you or the big ogre?¡± It looked at me confused, completely ignoring my question. Shaman: ¡°In the name of Ywsj! He can speak our tongue? That is strange, humans do not have the capability to speak our language. This one is very interesting, give him to me. This one I want.¡± Ogre: ¡°No! You¡¯ll kill it. I can use this human to lure more humans out! This one is mine. It can¡¯t even speak their language so it can¡¯t get help from them.¡± Getting slightly annoyed, I watched as the two bickered before my patience ran out. I broke the ropes using a little bit of force and tapped the large ogre on the back. ???: ¡°Excuse me but, are you the leader of this cave or is the shaman?¡± It turned back to me. Looking like it¡¯s pride was hurt, it shouted at me. ¡°OF COURSE I¡¯M THE LEADER. THIS LAZY BUM JUST SITS INSIDE THE STARROOM AND PRETENDS TO GIVE PROPHECIES. MEANWHILE, I LEAD THESE STUPID INGRATES TO MAKE SURE THEY SURVIVE, OF COURSE I¡¯M THE LEADER!¡± Great. ¡°Alright, I challenge you to a duel.¡± It looked at me. As did the rest of the cave. Everything fell silent again before the shaman started to burst out laughing. Shaman: ¡°Look at how weak you¡¯ve become! Even a human child thinks he can beat you! To be honest, I think he can, after all, I¡¯m not the only one sitting inside the cave and eating, hahahaha!¡± The ogre looked furious but didn¡¯t lift a finger to the shaman. He instead turned, probably about to yell at me or something, or kill me. The fact that the ropes were no longer around my hands probably hasn¡¯t reached his mind. Before he could do anything though, I started to speak again. ???: ¡°If I beat you, I take over the cave.¡± The ogre was growing more and more angry, he was one second away from killing me but he waited, probably curious about what would happen had I lost. ???: ¡°If you win however, I¡¯ll show you where I found this¡¡± I pulled out the leaf I got from earlier. Ogre: ¡°A leaf? A LEAF? YOU DARE CHALLENGE ME, THINKING YOU CAN WIN AND GIVE UP THIS MEASLY PRIZE FOR A LEAF. YOU INSOLENT LITTLE HU- YEMAR!¡± The ogre¡¯s skin was blood red and his fist went lose but the shaman extended his staff and the ogre stopped. His rage turning to the shaman. Shaman: ¡°STOP YOU BRUTE! Don¡¯t you realise what that leaf is? Look closer idiot.¡± I held up the leaf further and the ogre¡¯s eyes went wide. His anger turning to shock. Ogre: ¡°Ywsj¡¯s tree¡ human¡how did you find it?¡± The smaller ogres looked thoroughly confused on what was happening, but the ogre and shaman were both looking at me expectantly. ???: ¡°Not yet. First you have to beat me in a duel. Then, I¡¯ll show you the tree.¡± I figured the coloured forest was important, regarding the leaves on the shaman¡¯s headdress. I guess the translucent tree was much more rare. The shaman turned to the ogre. ¡°Take the bet fool. Yswj truly is smiling upon us today, showing us where her tree is for free. Make sure you do not harm the human boy, if you kill him I will make sure you die the most painful way possible!¡± Ogre: ¡°Shut up! I¡¯m not stupid enough to risk the tree. It doesn¡¯t mean I can¡¯t break all his limbs. There¡¯s a price to pay for insulting me. I don¡¯t care, even if the boy was sent by Yswj.¡± The shaman sighed before clearing the area of the surrounding smaller ogres, most of which were bored or terrified, not understanding what was happening, but not daring to do anything for fear of them being the target of the rage. Before long, I was standing face to face with the ogre. The anger had mostly disappeared from his face, replaced with an unusual seriousness I didn¡¯t expect from someone who sat in the same room as a pile of rotting flesh. He had many scars on his body, all of them probably from medieval weapons, swords, arrows. A few burn marks too. The more scars usually means a stronger warrior. Oh, and he had hair. The only creature other than the humans that did. Is he worth keeping? I guess so. He looks capable, as does the shaman. They are vital to my understanding of this world. Plus he said something about the human language. If I am indeed a human, I think I¡¯ll need that. I looked at him straight in the eye. I looked to the shaman and nodded. I had said nothing, but the shaman understood. Shaman: "I will oversee this fight. Combatants, you may begin!¡± Alright. Time to end this. I¡¯m curious about this world. I started to release tremendous amounts of energy, my body was probably glowing. The small green ogres around me started to fly to the edges of the cave, and the human women in the back looked at me with a mixture of hope and fear. Both the ogre and shaman jumped backwards, probably on instinct. Good instincts. It won¡¯t help you though. Not when this world has this much energy. I ran towards the ogre, to him, it probably looked like I suddenly appeared in front of him. I jumped and with one quick movement, I grabbed his hair and pulled, bringing him on his knees and kneeling in front of me. I tugged on his hair and he roared in pain, his arms uselessly flailing, trying to punch, pull, push me away. Really, do anything, but they were simply repelled by the sheer amounts of energy I was forcing outward. I tugged harder and harder, the strands of his hair ripping and tearing before I finally grabbed his ears, his eyes going wide. ???: ¡°Give up! Your weak! You can¡¯t defeat me!¡± I started to tug on his ears this time. His screams filled the room before he finally smacked the ground and started to yell Ogre: ¡°I give up! I lose! Stop! Shamans top the fight before he rips my ears off!¡± It was then when I let go of his ears and stopped the energy flow. The once straight, pointed ears now dropped and slightly elongated. He held his ears in pain. This was the third time the cave stood silently. Everyone just¡ waiting¡ Oh right. I¡¯m in charge now. They were probably waiting for me. ???: ¡°Uh¡ go do what you usually do or whatever. Oh and, if you want to challenge, you can do so. Though, I don¡¯t know if I¡¯ll hold back like I did this time.¡± The small ogres quickly hurried off and started to do whatever they did before. The shaman looked at me and laughed. The fear I felt from him, now mostly gone. Shaman: ¡°Ha. Of course you would know where the tree was. How could we ever beat a Yswj¡¯yjae? Alright, Yswj¡¯yjae, what would you have of us?¡± I looked at the shaman confused. What was a Yswj¡¯yjae? And why was he calling me that. Wait... What was my name? Chapter 2: Really Beginning Where to begin? I woke up in the middle of a forest, found that this world was bountiful in energy, followed a bunch of small green things to a cave and now a few of those small green things and their shaman are looking up to me. I look down at the shaman. He wasn¡¯t much shorter than me, but he was still quite small and disproportionate for a humanoid. Like the others, his head was large. It looks like his body shouldn¡¯t be able to hold it up, but he remains standing nevertheless. His arms were scrawny, a fact hidden by the animal hide robes and long coloured leaves that decorate his person. He looked at me, before speaking again. Shaman: ¡°It only makes sense. Your a Yswj¡¯yjae! Of course, there is no way a human would be able to understand goblin tongue? It also explains how a human child is able to defeat a fully grown brute like Killar. That must be it, I would shudder at the thought of human offspring being this powerful. Serving a human again, I would surely die first.¡± I looked at him, unable to read his face because of the tribal mask covering any expression. He¡¯s calling me Yswj¡¯yjae¡ I don¡¯t know my own name¡ should I just adopt it as my own? I guess I have to, for now at least. I have nothing else I can refer to myself as. I assume the name refers to their god, which I think is this Yswj figure. I really am lacking about knowledge right now, something I need. I need to figure out why god sent me here, I can¡¯t do that if I know nothing about the place it sent me to. Yswj¡¯yjae: ¡°Shaman, I know nothing about this world. I want you to teach me everything you know. That should be it for now.¡± I told him what I wanted. He looked at me, puzzled but nevertheless lead me into one of the larger rooms in the cave. It was clean. That was the first thing I noticed. And it was decorated as well. A large animal skin rug made by stitching fur together covered the entire floor. Shifty furniture made out of the woods I saw outside lay scattered around the room in an attempt to fill the space. The main focus of my attention was the work bench with paper, ink. It sat beside a large hole that opened up into the sky. It was covered by a mismatched thick layer of glass. This was surprising. I didn¡¯t think they could make glass. Afterall, they haven¡¯t even made proper clothing yet. He pulled up a shoddy chair and presented it to me. It was the largest one in the room, rather, the only one in the room. I didn¡¯t refuse the seat though. Shaman: ¡°Where should I begin Yswj¡¯yjae? How much do you already know? How much did Yswj tell you?¡± I pondered and what I should ask. The Yswj¡¯yjae is a servant of Yswj right? It must be. I think I should continue acting like a religious figure with them, at least with the Shaman. I have a feeling that I¡¯ll be using the small ogres for many things in the future. That also means I have to word my questions carefully as to not give away my identity as a human. Judging about what he said and those two other human women, I don¡¯t think they are very well-liked. Yswj¡¯yjae: ¡°Let''s start with Yswj. How is Yswj¡¯yjae perceived in this world? And Yswj¡¯yjae. Explain the meaning of the word to me. I am unfamiliar.¡± Shaman: ¡°Ah yes. How silly of me. Just because you speak goblin doesn¡¯t mean you know all of our words. You would only be speaking the god tongue with Yswj. Let me begin then. Yswj is the god of gods, as we all know. Unfortunately, Yswj and the lesser gods have been discarded by the thinking peoples of the world. The humans, dwarves, elves and beastmen all have their own heathenic representations of her. Some of them say the lesser gods and elemental spirits don¡¯t even exist! Our faith only persists among goblin kind now. I am sorry¡¡± Yswj¡¯yjae: ¡°It¡¯s fine. It¡¯s to be expected. Explain Yswj¡¯yjae to me. I have no name and I¡¯ll be using that from now on so I should at least know what it means.¡± Shaman: ¡°Ah yes, of course! Yswj¡¯yjae. It means servant of god.¡± He stopped. Shaman: ¡°Ah¡ sorry, my human tongue emerged slightly. It means servant of Yswj, forgive me Yswj¡¯yjae. I meant no harm.¡± Yswj¡¯yjae: ¡°It¡¯s fine. Continue.¡± Shaman: ¡°Yswj¡¯yjae are the direct servants of Yswj. They do Yswj¡¯s will. Of course, you would know what your real purpose is. This is what we mere mortals believe. I do not know when the last time a Yswj¡¯yjae had come grace us with their presence. What is your purpose if I may be so bold to ask?¡± Huh. Didn¡¯t expect that. Purpose huh? Never really had one before. I had done evil because I had the ability to. Watching people scream and suffer gave me joy. I don¡¯t feel like doing that anymore. God ruined that feeling. There never was a consequence for anything I did, what I did didn¡¯t matter. Evil¡ it doesn¡¯t have a purpose anymore. No¡ my goal. I want to know why. Why god allows evil. Can it even understand the concept? I want to know more about god. I want to reach the heavens once again and ask it the question directly. Why? That¡¯s not a suitable answer here, though. What would this small ogre want to hear¡ oh I know! Yswj¡¯yjae: ¡°For now? My purpose is to help this tribe of small ogres. I will help you grow and expand, perhaps even combat or take revenge on the humans that have tormented you for so long. At least, that is what I assume.¡± Lets hope this works. The shaman stood silently, unmoving before suddenly bursting out with a joyous laugh. Shaman: ¡°HAHAHA! OH! Yswj truly is merciful! A Yswj¡¯yjae helping us grow! Take revenge on the humans! My prayers truly have been answered! Joyous day! Joyous day! I shall prepare a feast tonight!¡± That worked¡ good. I was really putting leaps of logic together. Can¡¯t let him go off a tangent though. I need to base a few things. Yswj¡¯yjae: ¡°Wait Shaman. There is a few things you must know. Yswj had not granted me my true body, because of this, my time here is limited and my body mortal. This does not mean I am weak however. What it does mean is that I will be leading the small ogres so that they can continue on, even without me.¡± Shaman: ¡°Of course. Yswj has her reasons I¡¯m sure, and as do you. I am simply happy Yswj has finally answered our prayers¡ we are not small ogres though. We are called goblins. Though, that is a human word. The goblin word for it is bigger. Ironic but true.¡± Wait. They aren¡¯t small ogres? He definitely called that big green one an ogre. What¡¯s an ogre then? Yswj¡¯yjae: ¡°What is an ogre then?¡± Shaman: ¡°Right, you would have no understanding of our terminology. Let me begin. An ogre is the name for very strong goblins. Killar, the one you had just fought is an ogre. When goblins live for a long time, their bodies rapidly change shape and they become much more powerful. They start to look more human-like as well. This trait is unique to only the goblin tribes. The human faction has lost that ability.¡° Yswj¡¯yjae: ¡°Human faction?¡± Shaman: ¡°Ah yes. Humans, elves, dwarves and beastmen. The only races that do not gain strength through age. They have much smaller lifespans too. It was punishment from Yswj for abandoning her teachings.¡± What¡ what are elves? Before I met these things, I didn¡¯t even know different intelligent races existed. I need to ask him about this. Yswj¡¯yjae: ¡°What are elves, dwarves and beastmen?¡± Shaman: ¡°You do not know? I suppose they had lost the way of Yswj much faster than the humans did. I¡¯ll try and explain using the best of my knowledge. Elves are tall, skinny humans with pointy ears. They live twice as long and often inhabit the forests. They worship all the lesser gods, the spirits of nature. Everything but Yswj. They deny her existence. They are adept with a bow, their eyesight is very good but they breed much slower than humans so we don¡¯t bother with them.¡± Hmm. What does breeding have to do with race? Shaman: ¡°Dwarves are short fat humans. They will only reach about half the size of one. They are a little bit taller than goblins. They live in caves and mine the metals. They believe in the lesser spirits as well, but they focus on earth and fire spirits. They are good crafters. They live twice as long as humans, just like the elves. They are horrible breeders though, extremely hard to break and very loyal. Plus, the women are ugly. We don¡¯t like them.¡± Shaman: ¡°Finally the beastmen. They have no kingdom of their own. They live in a bunch of tribes, like us goblins. They look like humans but mixed with animal traits. I haven¡¯t seen one myself but they are the best breeders as they rely mostly on their instinct. Easy to tame as well. They are much more dangerous however and they carry grudges. That¡¯s why we only go after humans. There are so many of them that no one cares if one or two go missing haha.¡± The author''s narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. Again with the breeding thing. What is that about? Yswj¡¯yjae: ¡°The breeding you mention¡ explain further, This is something I do not know.¡± Shaman: ¡°Really? You do not know? Yswj really is testing you. I am sorry Yswj¡¯yjae, I guess even immortals have it difficult. Thankfully you have me to explain everything! We goblins don¡¯t have female kind. Therefore we must kidnap other races to breed with in order to persist. This has larger lead to our society turning into one of raiding and therefore we steal most of our goods.¡± Ah. That explains why they are so underdeveloped. Like the Shaman said. They steal what they need. They never evolved to for self-reliance because they never had that ability in the first place. They need other races to do simple things like reproduce. What a cruel fate god has given them. Now that I¡¯m thinkin about it, how long do goblins live compared to humans? Yswj¡¯yjae: ¡°How long do goblins live?¡± He looked at me and laughed. ¡°Oh. If we aren¡¯t killed before we evolve, probably forever. I¡¯ve never heard of a monster dying of old age. Only death by fatality. Course, goblins die all the time. Our lusts are much too large for us to deal with, ever blood moon that need to breed explodes and every goblin searches for one to breed with. It¡¯s a sad tale, yes. Breeders never last too long either. We can never have enough of them to sate us, eventually some of us roam outside where the other races are waiting. I¡¯m a shaman though, and my magics protect me from the cruel effect of the blood moon. Doesn¡¯t mean I don¡¯t get lusty from time to time. Hehe.¡± Ah, that¡¯s why they were unable to stay secluded. This red moon sounds like a problem. Though, there are solutions to this, especially from what I gathered. They kidnap many girls and everyone is allowed to use them. The leader has priority though and can use them at any time. The others have to wait their turn. Maybe if I introduced a partner system and actually provided the breeders with decent conditions, the chance of survival would be higher? Plus, having a bunch of goblins gangrape isn¡¯t efficient enough. Partners would allow them to produce more children and perhaps even induce Stockholm Syndrome. How fast do pregnancies last though? Yswj¡¯yjae: ¡°How long do pregnancies last?¡± Shaman: ¡°Ah yes. For us goblins, they last 1-2 weeks. This depends on the breeder. Humans and beastmen are much faster.¡± 1-2 weeks?! That¡¯s insane! They can produce so many children! How long do they take to mature? Are they born mature? Yswj¡¯yjae: ¡°Shaman! How quickly do goblins mature after birth?!¡± Shaman: ¡°Oh. About the same amount of time. 2 weeks. That¡¯s the usual amount.¡± Goodness. This is insane. Their populations would explode if I changed their ways. Isn¡¯t that a good thing though? More minions to do my bidding, more people to help me scour the earth. Plus it makes me look like I¡¯m helping them like I said I would. For now though, they only have two human women, mentally broken and probably no longer fit to remain in the cave. I should kill them. I need to train the goblins how to control their lust. Alright. I think I have somewhat of an understanding of what I need to do. I get up from the chair. Shaman: ¡°Yswj¡¯yjae, have you heard enough?¡± Yswj¡¯yjae: ¡°Yes. And I¡¯m ready to give my first orders. I must address the goblins, gather them. Once they are all inside the cave, inform me and I will address them. Don¡¯t let anyone touch the human women either. I will use them to make a show of might.¡± Shaman: ¡°Ah yes¡ I will give the order.¡± The Shaman ran out of the room, I could see him shout something at every goblin he could find, including the Ogre. Some goblins ran out of the cave, it didn¡¯t take long before the Shaman ran back in. Huffing and clutching his knees. Shaman: ¡°They¡ they are ready for you Yswj¡¯yjae.¡± His breath was heavy. Good. This one seems loyal. I walked out of the room, followed by the Shaman. My eyes kept wandering to the rotting pile of meat in the middle. It disgusted me tremendously. I never came back to the piles of bodies I made. I walked up the stairs to the stone chair at the back. There, I looked upon my new servants. I could count nearly 100 goblins. 1 ogre and two human women. Good. I turn back to the Shaman and whisper something, keeping the goblins below waiting. I¡¯ve already intimidated them, now I need only scare them a bit more to secure their loyalty. Yswj¡¯yjae: ¡°Shaman, do they understand the word goblin or should I be using the term Biggish?¡± Shaman: ¡°Ah, do not worry. Killar and I have taught them the human terms. After learning the language, hearing them call themselves Biggish was too silly for me to handle.¡± Yswj¡¯yjae: ¡°Good, good¡¡± The ogre and the Shaman understand human language? Interesting. Either way, that doesn¡¯t matter now. What matters is that I need another name. Yswj¡¯yjae is too long. I don¡¯t think these goblins use words longer than two syllables. Plus, I need something easier on me too. Ah, got it. Yjae: ¡°I am Yjae. One of the Yswj¡¯s Yswj¡¯yjae. I have come from Yswj to help your peoples grow and flourish. But to do this I need you to listen to my every command without fail. Can you do this?¡± The goblins below me all shook their heads yes. The ogre too. But I could tell. They didn¡¯t nod because they trusted my words. They nodded because that was what I was looking for. The best thing to do for their survival. I need to further ingrain that though into their mind. I want them to think that things they do for me helps themselves live. To do that, I need more fear. Yjae: ¡°Good. For my first order, I will purify the cave. Bring the two human women here!¡± The goblins and human woman looked confused. They brought them up here without question though. They looked at me, their eyes alight with that spark of hope I saw earlier. If I had compassion, I may have not done what I was about to do. I looked at the both of them and gently put my hands on their head. They looked up at me still confused. Then, when I had confirmed that the goblins were looking, I quickly pushed some of my internal energy directly through my palms and straight into their head. The result? Their heads exploded leaving nothing but bits of brain, fresh blood and limp bodies that kind of slumped to the floor, one of them falling off the pedestal. The ogre looked up at me, a combination of surprise, anger and fear on his face. The goblins were all cowering, trying to hide behind one and another. The shaman just started to cackle as he stood behind me, his mask covered with that slick blood. Yjae: ¡°There. The first step to purifying this cave has been made. Those women were sickly, corrupt and used beyond redemption. From now on, you will practice abstinence. You will learn to control your lust. As a reward for those who learn, you will be given your own personal breeder. Though, you will have to feed and care for them, no other goblin will touch your breeder." The goblins below all had simple minds. The fear quickly disappeared and turned into a strange joy. I expected them to express lust, but no. Joy. Strange. The ogre was the only one who looked displeased about this. Nothing I can do about that though. Being taken from leader status and grouped among the rest of the goblins isn¡¯t too great a position to be in. He might start something later if I don¡¯t placate him now. Let¡¯s make him feel important. Yjae: ¡°Killar. Come here.¡± I hope that was the ogre¡¯s name. I don¡¯t exactly know. He never told me directly. The goblins parted the way all staring at the ogre. Looks of sympathy on their faces. His face was covered in terror. He slowly worked his way in front of the throne. He said nothing and knelt, he started to sweat heavily. Yjae: ¡°You are a loyal servant of Yswj correct?¡± Killar: ¡°Yes!¡± He responded quickly and concisely. Yjae: ¡°And knowing that I am a Yswj¡¯yjae, you will follow my every command, not out of fear but devotion correct?¡± Killar: ¡°Yes!¡± He was growing hurried. His voice slightly quivering. Yjae: ¡°Even if that meant killing yourself in her name?¡± He knelt silently. His sweat pouring down his face. The goblins around him all looking on with fear or turning away. Yjae: ¡°Good. I will promote you to leader of the goblins. I am but in this pathetic mortal body. Despite my strength, I am still only one person. While I am here to guide you, I am but one, and you are many. Yswj gave me nothing but the task to help your tribe. She gave me no strength to rely on but her name. Therefore I must build pillars of strength upon which I can rest. You have kept this tribe alive and you will continue to do so, only this time with my guidance and protection. Do you understand?¡± He looked up, dumbfounded. Hahaha, he probably thought I was going to blow up his head. Yes, the pride I saw in him is a problem but he is a useful asset. Better alive than dead. Killar: ¡°Yes!¡± Yjae: ¡°Good. In honor of your title and your devotion to Yswj, I will change your name to Gord as you defend the virtues that Yswj brings to the mortals.¡± Gord: ¡°Gord¡ thank you Yswj¡¯yjae. I will do as you say.¡± There was no big reason for that bit at the end. I just really didn¡¯t like his name. It was very silly considering what it meant. Gord isn''t much better, but its an improvement. Ah, rambling in my head again. Yjae: ¡°Now, let¡¯s REALLY begin."
