《I'm Not The Dragon's Mom》 Prologue - A Week Later A week ¨C it has been that long since I got thrown into this cave and I''m quite surprised at how fast I''ve adapted. I haven''t completely accepted the sudden turn of events yet but at least I''m past the stage of shock and denial. I guess it''s all thanks to the little one currently nestled on my lap. That''s another thing. I have no doubts that I would be frightened to death by the little one if I was the same as before. Now look at me; I''m actually staring at him with adoration. It''s certainly not because I got used to his presence. I was fine seeing him the first time along with his mother. Rael was still inside his egg when I found this area and back then he was hidden behind a black dragon whose size couldn''t be done justice in a single word. Add the lack of lighting and the pair of golden eyes staring daggers at me and Iget a front-row seat for a nightmare fuel movie. What did it make me feel? Indeed I was surprised, but I didn''t worry about my safety. I wasn''t threatened at all. Furthermore, I felt sympathy once I realized the soon-to-be mother wouldn''t see her offspring emerge from his shell. How I knew remains a mystery to me even now. It simply happened and it still weighs heavily in my mind. I approached with steady strides, my eyes meeting the protective mother''s scowl with compassion, my arms stretched outward to prove I didn''t wish them harm. As if aligning with my intention, the black and gold armor which protects my petite body turned into motes of light and vanished, leaving me with a short black dress. With luck, my efforts bore fruit. The black dragon''s hostility mellowed out. This book''s true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience. The heavy atmosphere dispersed after an exchange of words, and by the end of it we somehow became friends. I learned a lot of things from our conversation but I still couldn''t verify my suspicion. Even when her life came to an end, I still couldn''t say for sure that I was in another world. Yes, I met and befriended a mythical beast. However, I think that''s not enough. I mean, I might simply be witnessing a hidden side of the world. For all I know I could be somewhere in the Bermuda triangle. How I woke up in the body of my strongest unit in a certain game, and how I have access to some of the game''s features without a phone also linger in the back of my mind. But now is not the time for that. Rael''s eyes lazily opened as he lifted himself up. He raised his jaw in a short while and released a silent yawn. Not putting much thought into his balance, he soon fell into my direction. Instead of stopping his fall however, he moved all of his weight forward, "so young yet already so mischievous." I caught the little daredevil with ease and he wriggled closer once he was in my arms. Slowly, his head touched my chin and I caressed his lower jaw in response, earning me a purr. The small act made him so happy he began slamming his pudgy tail to the ground; albeit weakly. "Good morning, Rael." I said despite having no idea whether the sun was up or not. In a cave void of light, there was only night time. How did I know a week has already passed? Ahem, I made a random guess. "What do you want for breakfast? Except for nether frogs of course; they''re too poisonous for you." Chapter 01 - Life In The Unknown(1) I sped past the halls of darkness with Rael on my back, his elongated jaw resting on my right shoulder. It takes a long stroll to find a monster so I usually give the baby dragon a piggyback ride to his meals. Even with the blood of a powerful dragon running through his veins, taking thousands of steps at a daily basis is no laughing matter. I wonder how Malassa planned to let her son survive if she hadn¡¯t met me. After some time I detected a presence. When I approached it however, all I saw was an overgrown frog with purple eyes. The uneven lumps on its jet black body gave it a grotesque look and the purple haze its mouth occasionally exuded said all there is to know about its nutrient content. Rael has a different take on its appearance though. In his eyes, the monster three times my size was a delicious looking food that he has yet to taste. Sigh, babies and their curiosity.

Rael immediately tugged my dress and rubbed his face onto my cheeks not only to say he found what he wants but also to make me retract my earlier statement. Unfortunately, his request fell on deaf ears. As a guardian, I would never let my emotions get in the way of giving him a healthy diet. Not that I actually know what¡¯s healthy or not for a dragon. I only know the nether frog is too poisonous for him. ¡°You can¡¯t eat that,¡± I shot an oppressive aura to the frog as I spoke, making it run for its life. Witnessing his desired meal get away, Rael looked at me with misty eyes. I was a bit shaken by the display but that was all. ¡°Don¡¯t be sad. I¡¯ll get you a better meal, I promise.¡± If I remember correctly, the swamp should be in a different path. How did a nether frog end up here? There are three paths connected to the large chamber where I first met Malassa. I came from the first one, the other leads to a poisonous swamp, and this is the third one. We¡¯ve been using this path ever since we found out monsters in the second path were inedible and so far we¡¯ve only seen wolves, large insects, and humanoid beasts. Well, with the number of paths branching out of each one, it¡¯s possible that there¡¯s a connection between the two main paths. On a side note; the first path leads deeper into the cave. The monsters there might be stronger so just to be safe we¡¯ll avoid it until Rael can take care of the monsters here by himself.Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! Rael lowered his head as I continued running, clearly depressed by his loss. But the sorrowful look didn¡¯t last long as I used my skills in acting to rouse a different emotion. ¡°Do you hate me now?¡± I asked with a saddened expression. When I saw him hesitate, I added ¡°I¡¯m only doing this for your own good,¡± and let tears form by the tip of my eyes. ¡°Please don¡¯t hate me.¡± Soon, Rael shook his head and pressed his face onto mine. He tried hugging me to show his affection but his small hands ended up holding me by my almost non-existent bosom. He held the position until I gave him a kiss on the forehead. ¡°I love you too.¡± Hearing my words, he let out a happy growl. The joy also made him forget where he was. He slammed his tail down and hit my rear. I could wrestle with his mother with my bare hands so it obviously didn¡¯t hurt me. Too bad his developing mind didn¡¯t agree. He twitched and looked around in panic. ¡°I¡¯m fine,¡± I assured him after a light chuckle. Relieved, he once again stuck to me like glue. It was a bit later when I found another monster. This time it was a humanoid with massive shoulders raised on the same level as its head. It didn¡¯t have a pair of eyes and nose. On its face was only a mouth full of razor sharp teeth and a small hole on each side of its face to act as ears. Moreover, it has arms thicker than my whole body and legs similar to a wolf¡¯s without the hair and with more muscles. Its gray skin was also covered with a thin layer of sticky liquid. It¡¯s without a doubt a ten out of ten in terms of creepiness; at least that¡¯s the case for me.

I was off the ground by the time it noticed me, my left leg heading straight to its face. I didn¡¯t give it my all to limit the damage to a broken neck. Its head moved to a dangerous angle with a loud crack. Soon, it fell lifeless to the floor. I took a life and didn¡¯t bat an eye. Something definitely changed and surprisingly - I don¡¯t care. Rael ran to the corpse and began eating once I dropped him down. I watched as the unmoving body was ripped apart. Even as blood spilled and organs scattered, I wasn¡¯t bothered, only worried that Rael might choke on a piece of bone. I¡¯ve truly changed huh? I¡¯ve been asking the same question for the past few days so I guess it¡¯s true. I wonder how far this body has influenced my mind. Hopefully it didn¡¯t go as far as to change my preference. Let¡¯s see, would I be fine sleeping with a man- no, it¡¯s definitely a no! Just thinking about it scares me to death! While I was busy thinking, Rael dragged an entire arm by my feet. Upon seeing what he did, my heart was instantly filled with warmth and my problems seemed to have vanished. ¡°Aww, thank you Rael,¡± I happily told the baby dragon half my size with a smile. No matter what happens in the future, I¡¯ll be fine as long as I have Rael. Chapter 02 - Life In The Unknown(2) ¡°Aren¡¯t you too old for Distant Destiny?¡± My cute younger sister asked while shooting me an odd look. ¡°No, more than that ¨C why is a famous actor like you even playing games? Shouldn¡¯t you like, do more popular stuff or something?¡± ¡°But this is popular stuff, my dearest sister. Don¡¯t you know that Distant Destiny is considered the best mobile gacha game of the year? Oh my, where have you been living up till now?¡± ¡°You even know the genre,¡± she narrowed her eyes at me. ¡°And will you stop talking like that, it sounds creepy. Sigh, it¡¯s only been a year since you left to pursue your dreams and you already became like this. Where did my cool elder brother go?¡± ¡°Haha, jokes aside,¡± I approached my beloved sibling with open arms. Despite what she said, she didn¡¯t reject my embrace. ¡°Long time no see, Noel. I¡¯m glad to see you¡¯re snarky as ever.¡± ¡°I¡¯m not snarky,¡± she grumbled while wrapping her arms around me. ¡°I¡¯m glad you could make it to my graduation ceremony, big brother.¡± ¡°Of course, how could I miss such an important part of your life? Besides, it¡¯s not every day that I get the chance to celebrate with a top civil engineer student. I¡¯m proud of you, Noel.¡± ¡°It''s computer engineer you dumbass.¡± ¡°Oops,¡± I scratched the back of my head. ¡°Stress is finally taking a toll on my mind it seems, do forgive this stupid brother of yours.¡± I was only joking of course and she knew that. ¡°Hmmp, saying sorry isn¡¯t enough.¡± ¡°How about this, I¡¯ll treat you to the best restaurant the city has to offer. I¡¯ll even give you an in-depth tutorial on how to play Distant Destiny. I¡¯ll make you a top player in no time.¡± ¡°I¡¯m in for a free dinner; the tutorial, not so much.¡± ¡°What,¡± I exaggeratedly took a step back. ¡°Do you have any idea how many would kill to get a tutorial from the great Luke? This is a once in a life time chance you know?¡±Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. ¡°Whatever,¡± she uttered with a shrug. *** I woke up with a smile thanks to a great dream. An adolescent dragon hugged me shortly, elevating my mood even further. ¡°Good morning, Rael,¡± I said before my charge did his usual thing ¨C rubbing his face onto mine. He¡¯s now a head taller than me yet he still hasn¡¯t grown out of that habit of his. He only released me once he was satisfied which was after an hour or so. I don¡¯t have anything urgent to do so I tend to let him act as he pleases. Rael went to fetch a corpse as I lifted myself up. It was a cave lurker, one he most likely hunted while I was asleep. Now that he can fight, the only thing left for me to do here is map the two main paths and find an exit. We¡¯ve been here for too long. It¡¯s about time we step out into the open. By the way; recently there are more and more monsters appearing close to the chamber. If my guess is correct, they kept their distance because of Malassa. Since she¡¯s no longer present, they have no reason to avoid this place. It doesn¡¯t help that I rarely show my power and the few that live to tell the tale only saw a glimpse of my true strength. After placing the corpse before me, Rael sat by my side and asked me to take the first bite through his own gestures. Not wanting to waste his effort, I ripped an arm off and bit a large chunk of meat. I still prefer cooked food. But due to my body¡¯s influence, I was neutral to the sour and chewy flesh in my mouth. And once I take Rael into account, it becomes a rather enjoyable meal. Ah, I wonder how my past self would react if he sees me right now. Despite my barbaric eating style, my face remained fresh and my body was free of stain, the complete opposite of Rael¡¯s bloody appearance. And even when I ate quite the amount, my stomach didn¡¯t bloat in the slightest. As for Rael; his size made it hard to see but the bump was there. ¡°Thanks for the meal,¡± I gave my foster son a pat on the head. When he tried to stick to me, I jumped back saying ¡°nope, take a bath first.¡± He whined but all he got from me was a bright smile, ¡°no buts. Go and wash yourself.¡± Sighing in defeat, Rael left for the small river on the path where I first came from. It was just dozens of steps away so I could sense him and anyone that might hurt him. My perception becomes blurry only after one or two hundred steps- ¡°Rael, come back here!¡± In a flash, a large group of monsters entered my field of perception. Worst, their numbers increased with time and some were even coming from the third path. We¡¯re surrounded! ¡°How could this happen?!¡± The adolescent dragon returned without question but his eyes showed confusion. I¡¯m confident that I could take all the monsters on, it''s just that my arsenal is limited in an enclosed space. Since I can¡¯t kill them all in one go, a few might get to Rael while I¡¯m busy fighting. ¡°Tsk, Rael go hide in a corner and stay there!¡± Chapter 03 - Clash of Giants(1) A hot sensation spread throughout my lungs as I breathe in air and the rising heat slowly made its way to the back of my throat. Smoke soon seeped out from between my lips but I didn¡¯t feel any pain. It felt more like a cough that has yet to be released so it was irritating at most. I expelled the heat as a ball of flames with a silent yell. It came with a burst of light which disappeared as it made its way to the path connected to the poisonous swamp. The attack was large enough to engulf a few dozen men but only served to stall for time. I didn¡¯t use a full-powered fire breath since it might do more damage to the cave system than the enemies. Shortly after the monsters stopped in that one path, fifteen-foot gray wolves entered the chamber. Seeing them, I propelled myself with a kick to the ground and spun in midair for a roundhouse kick. One foolish wolf tried to pounce on me only to be hit straight on the face. Its skull broke in a flash, killing it before it could realize just how stupid it was. Who jumps into an enemy¡¯s attack? I continued spinning when I landed and shot a back kick to another wolf. Due to the height difference, I could only hit its neck but it was more than enough for a kill. Upon contact with my feet, it was pushed a step back and fell to the ground, blood spurting out of its mouth as it whined for no more than a minute. Ok; two down, an unknown number of enemies to go. By then the monsters in the third path were close so I grabbed a random wolf and tossed it to the path like a rag doll. It didn¡¯t end with just one. Every wolf I could get my hands onto would be thrown without fail. While none of them died, it did leave them with severe injuries. The first monster that came out of the path was a black spider, one much larger than the wolf that hit it. It was thirty levels higher than a dusk wolf which usually sits at around seventy. It¡¯s the highest level I¡¯ve seen so far ¨C still far from mine though. It¡¯s not a threat. While I was assessing the new enemy, a stream of green liquid suddenly flew out of the first path and it was aimed at Rael. Slightly worried, I ran to the adolescent dragon and blocked the incoming attack with my body. I only felt a bit itchy when the unknown liquid splashed onto me. The ground however wasn¡¯t as lucky. It was melted by the dangerous substance until a small puddle was formed. Once it ended, I found myself looking at a nether frog two times larger than the rest. It was behind an army of nether frogs but I could see it clearly. Unlike the others that release gas through their mouths, the huge amphibian was emitting purple haze all over its body, making it look like it¡¯s surrounded by mist. So a big shot finally appeared huh?

There were also some red hornets flying above the nether frogs. A few were burning but it didn¡¯t seem like they cared. They were slightly smaller than the frogs, both in size and level. And like with the ugly amphibians, a larger version of them could be seen at the back. It had a bright red body with orange fur around the neck. It also had what appears to be a crown atop its head.Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation.

The influx of monsters has yet to end, isn¡¯t it too early for you guys to show up? It¡¯s common knowledge for generals to hide until the last moment you know? Not long after my unnecessary remark, a single presence in the second path rushed from the back to the frontlines in the blink of an eye. When I turned, I was welcomed by the sight of a large white wolf with a scar on its right eye. Aside its muscular physique and different fur color; it looked the same as the rest of the wolves. It goes to show that size doesn¡¯t have anything to do with level.

With the turn of events, I expected a similar occurrence from the third path so I inquired if, ¡°anyone from there wants to join the fun?¡± To my horror, I heard a voice from Rael¡¯s hiding spot. ¡°It¡¯s fine; I¡¯ll wait for my turn. It¡¯ll be quite rude of me as the host of this wonderful event if I only entertain myself after all.¡± Upon turning, I saw a woman with blood red eyes. She wore a long dress with the same blackness as her hair, emphasizing her snow white skin and luscious curves, ¡°why the surprise? Have you not received an invitation? Oh wait, you weren¡¯t supposed to get one. Silly me, forget it, forget it; just think of my words as ramblings of a crazy old woman.¡±

I hastily looked around but couldn¡¯t see any signs of my charge, ¡°where did you take Rael?!¡± ¡°Rael, Rael, oh, are you talking about the little black dragon? So that¡¯s his name. Don¡¯t worry, he¡¯s safe. I have no interest in the weak. Besides, he¡¯s the heir of my dear friend Malassa. I would never bring him harm. By the way, can you extend a helping hand to this poor old woman in her quest for revenge? You see, a mean old witch bullies her at the bottom of this dungeon.¡± ¡°Quit the nonsense and tell me where Rael is!¡± I threatened, the reddish black horns protruding from my temples growing longer and my teeth becoming sharper. ¡°That¡¯s a good look you have there.¡± Her nonchalant reply was the last straw. I dropped all efforts to minimize collateral damage and let pitch black flames cover my body. As rage invaded my system, the flames expanded and my skin turned into black scales. In a matter of seconds, my height rose by ten times my original height and sharp claws took over my once delicate fingers. Colossal wings sprouted from my shoulder blades as a long tapering tail grew from my rear. Lastly, my face lost all of its human features, replaced by a more draconic look. ¡°This is my final warning you damned vixen, tell me where Rael is.¡± ¡°Not the brightest person in the world I see. Is it common for your kind to react violently to every single problem you encounter? If it was me I¡¯d take a different approach, I mean, my loved one is held captive, how could I dare to talk back to the captor?¡± ¡°So you do have Rael,¡± I raised my head and prepared a breath attack. ¡°I hope you don¡¯t regret this.¡± ¡°I have a lot of regrets, adding one more shouldn¡¯t hurt.¡± Chapter 03.5 - Sleepover of Giants ¡°And that¡¯s how we first met,¡± I didn¡¯t lie. She did do all that during our first encounter. ¡°So let me get this straight,¡± the Demon Lord of Pride Lucina furrowed her brows. ¡°She tried to kill you too? Wow, so she attempted to kill everyone here at least one.¡± ¡°I was quite mischievous when I was young,¡± said the Eternal Witch of Onslaught Laplace. ¡°As if,¡± the Demon Lord of Wrath Saten rolled her eyes. ¡°You were already thousands of years old when you tried to kill us you moron.¡± ¡°It¡¯s a mental thing, my dear Saten. I was young at heart.¡± (Laplace) ¡°Do you even have a heart?¡± (Saten) ¡°Why I do,¡± Laplace slowly turned to me. ¡°How could I fall for Akasha if I didn¡¯t have one?¡± ¡°Maybe you¡¯re scheming again.¡± (Saten) ¡°I¡¯m flattered that you think so highly of me but my love isn¡¯t a scheme.¡± (Laplace) And it better be if you value your life. ¡°Moving on,¡± Lucina grabbed a random piece of paper from the pile in the middle of us six and read its content. ¡°Next question is for Beza. Do you really have a bottomless stomach or is it magic?¡± The woman in question, the Demon Lord of Gluttony Beza, was munching on a cake. Upon hearing the question, she shrugged and said: ¡°I don¡¯t know.¡± Lucina deadpanned. ¡°Let me revise the question. Ladies, does Beza have a bottomless stomach? Raise your hand if you agree. If not, just keep doing whatever you¡¯re doing.¡± Lucina, Saten, Laplace, and even the silent Alraune raised their hands. I don¡¯t know about bottomless stomachs, I only know it¡¯s rude for a guy to say a lady has it. I may no longer be one but my heart is still the same. Upon seeing me keep my hands down, Beza¡¯s eyes shone with an odd light which didn¡¯t go unnoticed. Both Laplace and I saw it and the former reacted with a menacing glare. Sigh, no need to scare people. I know where my loyalty lies and it won¡¯t change so easily. I¡¯m a man with morals. Beza stopped eating and lowered her head in fear, that however, seemed to have given the others the wrong idea since they began apologizing except for Laplace. You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story. Once everything was settled, Lucina grabbed another paper. ¡°Next question is for Saten. You¡¯re so short, are you really a hundred years old?¡± Moments after reading, Lucina covered her mouth and giggled. ¡°Who made that?!¡± Saten turned to Laplace. ¡°Was it you?!¡± Laplace smiled as bright as the sun. ¡°Of course not. When did I ever call you midget?¡± ¡°That¡¯s it! You¡¯re dead meat!¡± Saten tried to jump Laplace but got stopped by Lucina. ¡°Let me go! I¡¯ll kill that witch once and for all! I¡¯ll rid this world of that vile creature!¡± ¡°Forget it; we all know what happens when you challenge the eternal witch.¡± (Lucina) ¡°You make it sound like I¡¯m scary.¡± (Laplace) ¡°You¡¯re in on it aren¡¯t you! I saw you laugh you damn traitor!¡± (Saten) ¡°Ok enough. Laplace, go apologize to Saten.¡± ¡°You¡¯re showing favoritism to another woman, should I be angry or jealous?¡± (Laplace) ¡°Neither, now go say you¡¯re sorry before this gets out of hand.¡± ¡°An apology won¡¯t be enough! I won¡¯t be satisfied until I kill that witch!¡± (Saten) ¡°I said enough.¡± ¡°Akasha, your inner dragon is showing.¡± (Laplace) ¡°And you ¨C apologize now.¡± ¡°It seems I have no choice,¡± Laplace shrugged. ¡°Saten, I¡¯m truly regretful for what I did-¡± ¡°Che, whatever¡± (Saten) Is this how a girl¡¯s night out should be? It doesn¡¯t seem fun at all. ¡°Sorry I¡¯m late,¡± said a voice we all knew. When I turned to look I saw a gorgeous blond elf. Even amongst the elves I have seen, not one comes close to the Arcane Queen in terms of beauty. ¡°I¡¯m glad you could come, Sylferia.¡± ¡°Lady Akasha invited me so it¡¯s only natural for me to be here,¡± she said with a smile as she sat down elegantly. ¡°I hope I didn¡¯t miss too much.¡± I wanted to admire the elven matriarch more but a chill made me stop whatever I was planning. Come on Laplace, I was only looking. It¡¯s not like I was cheating on you or anything. After sending me a glare that could kill, Laplace asked: ¡°Is the master puppeteer and Saten¡¯s best friend not coming?¡± ¡°Who¡¯s my best friend?!¡± Knowing who Laplace was talking about, Saten leered. ¡°Ceris is on the verge of creating her new masterpiece so she couldn¡¯t come. Yna¡¯s case is the same,¡± Sylferia looked down in shame, ¡°kind of.¡± ¡°Let me guess, she¡¯s tiring herself off with a new training regime.¡± (Laplace) Sylferia answered with silence. ¡°She really is your best friend,¡± Laplace gave Saten a knowing smile, ¡°you two think alike.¡± ¡°I¡¯m nothing like that muscle head!¡± (Saten) As the two once again faced off in a battle of words, Sylferia turned to the former guardian of the abyss dungeon. ¡°It¡¯s been a long time, lady Alraune. I¡¯m pleased to see you in good health.¡± Alraune smiled in response. For an elf that protects the tree of life Yggdrasil, an entity like the Wikced Rose of Calamity Arlaune was the same as a celebrity regardless of what sin the flower has committed in the past. Aside from the Master Puppeteer Ceris and Rampaging Fist Yna, the ladies from three of the five great powers are now all in one place for a slumber party. I wonder how the people would react once they find out the important figures of three different factions gathered to chat like teenage girls. I bet they would be shocked to death.
