《Bookkeeper》 Wiseman Dong dong dong, the sound of the usual bell that indicates the end of the class was echoing through the library. In the central part of the library gathered a group of young and middle aged people. In a corner, there is a young man that radiates a loner aura that makes people hesitate to approach or look over. Well, if you look closely, you¡¯ll see his not that good looking but noble face trying to look as friendly as possible but looks irritating and arrogant instead. ¡°That¡¯s the end of today¡¯s class, tomorrow we will be starting our lectures so don¡¯t forget to read the story of the little bird written by Bookmaker Carl Timmbler if you don¡¯t want to be left behind in the class.¡± ¡°Yes librarian mistress Ysabele¡± everyone except the young man said. ¡°Okay, you may go now¡± Everybody is starting to leave by pairs or groups but the young man stayed behind. He finally got up from his seat when only the librarian mistress is left behind. ¡°You know, nobody will approach you if you don¡¯t change that facial expression of yours.¡± the librarian mistress said with a smirk on her face in a joking tone while walking into her quarter in the library. The young man scowled and said ¡°But.., I was trying my best. Did I really look that unapproachable?¡± Then he walked in the same direction of her. ¡°Hahahaha, yes you do. And very irritating as well, It is good that no one cursed you don¡¯t even think of someone approaching you¡± she said so and sighed. If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. The young man became depressed and murmured ¡°Who will curse me in front of my aunt?¡± then laughed bitterly before entering the room. ¡°You go and rest first. I still have some work to do. I¡¯ll call you when dinner is ready¡± she said while getting inside her office. ¡°Okay, I¡¯ll go and read books in my room then.¡± The quarter in the library became quiet while people continue to come and go silently inside the library to read books and study their means to acquire enlightenment. This library is called Tibular library. It is a library own by the Tibular family, currently the head of the Tibular Family which is the young man¡¯s father named Wilfred Tibular. The Tibular family is one of the many branches of Hermon clan. They are families that owns and regulate library in different places. The library that their family owned was in the city called Genesis. Genesis is one of the many cities in the Oasis country and so on. This world is a place where the books are treated as something holy and eternal. Nobody can change what is written. Everybody believes that what is written are the truth and anyone that go against it are sinners that will be the focus of all the people¡¯s hate. Through studying books, anybody can get the means which will give people a chance to have enlightenment and learn how to wield powers. In a simple way it is called magic, not magic that makes people produce powers to use in a destructive way but to control what exist. There are some magic that goes beyond what is possible and you can call it miracle but not in a way that it became to the point that a man can fight against a country. Well, it is not easy to gain enlightenment. Most of people that does came from the families that owns library or families that already has someone that gains enlightenment. There are also talented and lucky ones from common families that saw through the means and gained enlightenment. A person that is enlightened is called ¡°wiseman¡±. The Tibular Family There are different kinds of clan that has influence in this world. There are clans that own a library or many libraries. There are clans that focused on enlightened people. There are clans that have big resources. There are other kinds but all in all, the goal is only one, to be enlightened, to have more wisemen. The Tibular family is a branch of a clan that owns library. Well, you can call it a family but it only has 3 living person as of now; the young man, Library Mistress Ysabele and his father. There is also his mother, grandfather and grandmother but they are all dead. His mother died while he was only less than 1 year old and his grandmother followed when he was 4 years old. The young man turned 17 last month and all through his life, only his grandfather took care of him till when he was 12 that his grandfather died. Since then, his Aunt was only family member that took care of him. His father always sent him things he needed but never saw him personally. Ysabele always tell him not to think badly of his father because he is very busy in the capital. He knows that but can¡¯t help to disapprove of his father in his heart. This is also the reason why it became hard for him to adapt with other people which lead him to be always alone. The young boy is called Deus Septima Tibular. He grew up with his grandfather who taught him all things in life; like moral character, loyalty, respect, and etc. It is also because of his grandfather that he likes to read books not because he wants to be enlightened but to read it with his heart. As a matter of fact he already had discovered many means but didn¡¯t care much about enlightenment which always made his aunt angry with him but can¡¯t do anything about it. It¡¯s not like he didn¡¯t have enlightenment on few books that makes him be qualified to attend lessons of mid-foundational wiseman. Tibular Library is considered the lowest level library in this world. The lectures in the library are only for foundational wisemen which is the lowest level and also the most important part. It is called foundational because wisemen in this stage is building up their enlightenments and how do they perceive the means which will later be the starting point of their way to higher realm of enlightenment. Even though they only have the lowest level library, Ysabele cannot be treated as someone weak because no one knows what level of wiseman she already is. One thing that should be noted is she was once the most talented person at Genesis city in her generation. That is why no one is making a mess of Tibular Library even if it is only a low level one. It is actually to the point that many big families in the city and cities next to Genesis want their child to be a student of her. Yearly, she accepts students that she taught for a year in the central part of the library but never did she accept her own apprentice for unknown reason. Many call her Librarian Mistress but she is only 23 years old. Inside a room in the quarter, someone is silently reading and murmuring to himself every now and then. He is seated in a chair in front of a study table at the corner of the room. The room is dark except the place in top of his table being lit by a handful size flame hovering in the air. ¡°This story of the little bird is short but full of emotions.¡± he said inwardly. ¡°I wonder why many parents thinks that a bird should leave the nest to learn how to fly¡± Thinking deeply with confusion. ¡°Is it really worth being away from home? From your parents?¡± ¡°I wonder why my dad left home. Maybe, because he wants me to grow up independently? But it¡¯s so sad, is it really worth it?¡± He said while being more depressed after one question and another. While being depressed thinking of the reason why he was suddenly interrupted by a knock, ¡°Deus, dinner is ready. Let¡¯s eat first.¡± a voice of a girl said so. ¡°Okay Aunt Ysabele, give me a sec.¡± He said while standing up from his chair. He arranged the books in his table then he wave his hand for the handful size flame to lead the way out of his room. He put off the fire after leaving his room and went to the dining room.If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. ¡°Oh, why look like that? Did you eat something bad?¡± said Ysabele while giggling. ¡°Nothing, I¡¯m just thinking the reason of something I read earlier.¡± he said while sighing deeply. He shook his head removing those thoughts in his mind and said ¡°What do we have for dinner?¡± ¡°Ahh, what makes him so depressed?¡± She murmured to herself while preparing the food before bringing it on the dining table. ¡±Well, it¡¯s our traditional keep it up meal for very first day of class in a year every time you fail making friends.¡± she said with a joking smile in her face. ¡°So it is my favourite steak huh.¡± he said so smiling bitterly while taking his seat. ¡°hehehe, yes it is my very own special steak¡± she said before taking her seat too. ¡±Let¡¯s eat!¡± Only the sound of utensils was heard for a while before Ysabele asked ¡°What were you reading earlier¡± then she continued eating. Deus finished the food in his mouth first before answering ¡°It was the story of the little bird that you said to read in the class earlier¡± ¡°Ehh, didn¡¯t you already finish that many times already?¡± she said before taking another bite. ¡°Yes, but I wanted to reread it because I still don¡¯t understand something¡± He said while looking depressed again before sighing and continue to eat. ¡°Hhmmm, so what do you not understand? Let your aunt hear it.¡± She said curiously. ¡°It¡¯s nothing big. It is just I am a bit bothered of why do the little bird needs to leave the nest to learn how to fly. Isn¡¯t it sad?¡± he said so with a wondering voice like he was thinking out loud. ¡°Sigh, is it because of your father again?¡± she said bitterly. ¡°It is not a thing which I can influence you but just remember one thing that I want you to not forget, always, please understand your father, there are things that you won¡¯t understand right now but sooner you will know and realize why. So as much as you can, please don¡¯t think so badly of your father¡± she said so with a sincere and caring tone. ¡°I understand; it¡¯s just, I can¡¯t help but feel sad from time to time¡± He said, looking down while ashamed of himself. Ysabele put her spoon down before getting up from her seat and went to his back before hugging his head in her tummy and said ¡°There is nothing to be ashamed of Deus. I am happy that you can still stay strong even though your father never been with you since you¡¯re a child. Don¡¯t worry, I am always here and will not go away from you alright?¡± Ysabele hug him tighter before letting go and going back to her seat. ¡°Okay, forget sad things and let¡¯s continue eating¡± she said with a loving smile. Deus was quiet for a sec before coming to himself then he shook his head and said ¡°Thanks aunt Ysabele¡± He continued to eat after saying so with a sincere smile. Ysabele went quiet for a bit for some unknown reason before she continued to eat and said with a loving tone ¡°You¡¯re always welcome.¡± They continued to eat and talk until the food is almost done when suddenly Aunt Ysabele asked ¡°For the Bookmakers sake Deus, how is your enlightenment?¡± He went still for a moment before saying ¡°Ahh, hehehe, I haven¡¯t tried since the last time I had one¡± then took a bite of the steak while saying stiffly ¡°Hhhmm, this steak is really good!¡± Aunt Ysabele looks annoyed and amused at the same time before saying with a smile but not a smile ¡°Ohhh, didn¡¯t tried huh. I guess I have to put some more restrictions in the books around some corner¡±. ¡°Ehh, Nn-noo, Please don¡¯t, my beautiful and gorgeous Aunt Ysabele¡± Deus said nervously. ¡°Hhmmm, Did I just hear you say you will go and try having enlightenment?¡± She said with an enigmatic smile. He was stunned for a bit before blushing then he shook his head while thinking inwardly ¡°That was weird, why did I feel like that¡± then he said in a low voice ¡°Yes, enlightenment is it. Why do I need to?¡± ¡°What did you say?¡± she said with the same expression and an additional earthshattering cute glare. ¡°I will go and try being enlightened!¡± He said hurriedly with a wry smile afraid of having nothing to read before looking at aunt again that made his heart pound faster. ¡°Good boy. Then I¡¯ll be waiting for the result. Maybe if I like it I can give you a prize!¡± she said proudly like she made a big accomplishment in her life. He stared at her blankly not knowing what is happening but when Ysabele said prize, he suddenly thought of something inappropriate that made him blush so he stood up and hurriedly said ¡°Thanks for the meal! I¡¯ll take a bath now¡± then he walked out of the dining room. Aunt Ysabele was taking a spoonful and was stunned that she forgot to put it in her mouth for a moment. Then she said inwardly ¡°Ohhh, my Deus is growing up¡± she smiled then shook her head before finishing the leftover food. She waved her hand then the dishes float and cleaned itself before flying back to the container. ¡°Hmmm I should wait a bit more before giving that letter¡± she murmured to herself before shaking her head and getting out from the dining room. Strange Dream Inside the quarter in the library, there is a young man taking a bath in the bathroom. He was lying in the bathtub while staring in the air murmuring ¡°Why did I feel like that? I even thought of something inappropriate with my dearest aunt.¡± He remembered what happened earlier and blushed again before shaking his head and saying ¡°I don¡¯t like Incest! forget it, forget it.¡± then he shook his head again and buried the thing on his mind feeling ashamed of himself. He calmed his mind and enjoyed the hot bath. He stood up after sometime and dried his body and put on robe while looking at the mirror, before blushing and shaking his head again. He then took his toothbrush and brushed his teeth before going out of the bath room. In the quarter, there is only one bathroom, which is why after going out of the room he saw her Aunt on her way to take a bath too. ¡°What took you so long? I wanna go have a bath too, so sticky because of sweat¡± She said while pulling the cloth on her nape as an evidence. He blushed then looked away from her before saying ¡°Sorry, I was a bit absentminded and forgot about time. Have a nice bath, I¡¯ll go sleep now.¡± Then he walked away as fast as he can. Ysabele look at him walking so hurriedly and giggle while covering her mouth with her hands, ¡°Ehh, my Deus is acting like a little boy. hihi¡± She stared in the direction he fled for a moment before entering the bathroom with a smile. Inside Deus¡¯ room He was lying in his bed getting ready for sleep when he remembered the scene near the bathroom and blushed. ¡°Damn Aunt Ysabele, you¡¯re doing this purposely.¡± he sighed and buried the things his mind and relaxed. After no more than quarter-hour, he was already asleep. ¡°Oohh Deus you¡¯re here, what took you so long? It is kinda late now. Let¡¯s go.¡± An old man in a robe said. He looks old with wrinkles here and there but doesn¡¯t look weak but instead full of energy and noble aura. ¡°Sorry Granpa!¡± he blushed before continuing ¡°Something weird happened earlier¡±. Then he made his way tailing the old man inside a place that looks so old but full of vitality and ancient feeling. It turns out that the old man was his dead grandfather but here he is talking with him and even guiding him in a place that looks like sacred and holy. He followed his grandpa through the gate then walked through a long and wide hallway where nobody exists except him and his grandpa. They continued to walk for half an hour before his grandpa stopped and looked over the wall. The wall looks like it is going to crumble with marks here and there except that the wall is harder than diamond and those marks is an old language that looks sacred but unreadable. ¡°Deus, my grandson, I hope that you will learn how to read this sooner rather than later. I know it is hard and you already tried a lot but you have to do so. It is not that I am pushing you but it is your mission, your fate and your destiny. You already understood some but that is not enough. The time is limited so I hope you put more effort¡± He smiled and started to walk away. Deus looked at the wall, confused and excited. Then he heard ¡°Remember, don¡¯t use just your eyes and your mind. You should also put every letter in your heart.¡± He closed his eyes and calmed his mind before opening it and staring at the wall. At first there seems to be nothing he can understand and the wall looks like it has scratches here and there but then, after a while, the wall started to shine and he felt like he was being swallowed by something and his sight became blank. He can¡¯t see anything. He tried calling out to his grandfather but no one answered. He was starting to get confused and scared but he felt something warm inside him, accurately inside his heart. He began to calm down and closed his eyes. After a while he felt like his body was flying and he saw mountains, oceans, forests and different sceneries. He travelled all over an unknown world for so long until he suddenly heard a knock. ¡°Deus, you young man, since when did I taught you to be lazy. It is already late and you will miss the class if you still don¡¯t wake up.¡± A voice of a girl echoed through his room. He opened his eyes and stared blankly in the air before murmuring ¡°It¡¯s that weird dream again.¡± he knitted his brow and thought deeply for a moment before sighing and said ¡°Yes, yes. Give me a moment, I¡¯ll prepare now.¡± He stand up and change his clothes before looking in the mirror to check if he looks presentable before walking out of the room. He went to the dining area where his aunt already started eating breakfast. ¡°Good morning Aunt Ysabele!¡± He said while taking his seat to start eating. ¡°Good morning, go and start eating now. We only have quarter an hour before the class starts.¡± She said before sipping her tea. He started eating although a bit hurried but still graceful which made Ysabele giggle. Then she asked ¡°What made you wake up so late? You usually wake up before me and start reading books¡±. ¡°I had that strange dream again and this time grandpa is pushing me to put more effort learning to read those scribbles in the wall.¡± he paused and knitted his brows before continuing ¡°I wonder what those scribbles are. It is so weird to have this dream again and again but I still can¡¯t control what is happening. Like I am watching myself having a talk with my grandpa and watching myself stare at that wall for so long. So weird!¡± He then continued to eat looking afraid of not eating enough before the class starts.Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings. ¡°Ohh, that strange dream again.¡± She said with a gleam in her eyes but cannot be seen outside. She then murmured softly ¡°Need more time huh¡± she then shook her head and sip her tea again. She stood up and waved her hand to clean her dine ware and utensils before saying ¡°I will go out first, see you in the library later.¡± ¡°Okay Aunt Ysabele, see ya!¡± he said before drinking his coffee with milk. ¡°Don¡¯t take too long or I will not let you in!¡± she glared at him before going out of the room. He continued eating till he filled his stomach before standing up and said ¡°Thanks for the food¡± The he waved his hand to clean his dine ware and utensil like her aunt did before going out of the room. When he arrived at the central part of the library, almost all the students are already in so he picked a chair and wore the same expression he had yesterday to try look as friendly as possible. The class started only a moment after he arrived. Days passed like always, going to class having dinner and breakfast with his aunt while chatting with her. Sometimes, he would have that dream again. There are days where he will have no choice but to gain enlightenment because of her aunt. 11 months passed and today is his birthday. He and her aunt is having a dinner with a special meal to celebrate his birthday. ¡°This dish is so good! Is this your new creation Aunt Ysabele?¡± He said happily ¡°Yes, I did experiment for many months to perfect it. Do you like it?¡± She said so proudly with a loving smile. ¡°Yes, Yes! I like it so much! I love you Aunt Ysabele!¡± He said sincerely and innocently. ¡°Hhmm, you¡¯re always welcome. I especially dedicate it for your 18th birthday.¡± She said with a cute smile while blushing before saying ¡°Anyway I also have a gift for you for reaching peak-Foundational Wiseman, I know you can do even better if you want to but here accept it¡± She put her hands in her purse to get a small pouch and an envelope. ¡°Here, this pouch is an extra-dimension pouch that has a 100 cubic meter space that can store any inanimate object. Everything that is stored inside will have a slower deterioration, for example; if you put medicine or a plant that can be used to make pills, they will still slowly wither but will take long enough for you to be able to use them all.¡± She explained carefully. Deus was shock to hear what she said. He was in trance for a moment before coming back to his self and asked ¡°Isn¡¯t this made using space enlightenment? and the maker has to have a very high skill to make something like this with only 1 cubic meter space, and your saying this one has 100 cubic meter? You aren¡¯t fun of me, are you?¡± He looked at his aunt with a flabbergasted face. She covered his mouth with her right hand and giggle before saying ¡°While would I lie to my dearest nephew? Oh boy, it wasn¡¯t easy finding one. Don¡¯t tell me you don¡¯t like it?¡± the she made a sulking face with a teasing smile. ¡°Nnn-noo, I like it very much! I was just shock to see and was hard for me to believe this is true¡± He hurriedly said while reaching out his hand to grab the pouch from her aunt. But before he can do so¡ Ysabele reached out her hand and caught his before putting it over the pouch. She first gently touched his hand before saying with love and care. ¡°Deus, I will give you this pouch not just to store your items. You are not young anymore, later on, there will be times that you will not able to depend to me or to anyone. I want you to remember that it is not being ignorant in what happens in your surroundings but that is not the case for all the time.¡± She hesitated before continuing ¡°There are times that your life will be on danger¡± Ysabele gently stared at him and said ¡°You should always be ready for any mishaps that might happen so putting your important items and daily needs inside this pouch is a must.¡± she then smile before putting her hand away. ¡°Enough of saying sad things, taday is your birthday so we should happily celebrate it¡± She smiled again but didn¡¯t continue speaking. Deus was loss of what to say for a while before sincerely answering. ¡°I will always remember Aunt Ysabele!¡± He said with a big smile on his face. ¡°Sure you are. Anyway, I know that you already had a bit of enlightenment about space magic that is enough to open this pouch so come here and let aunt tell you what to do.¡± She said while grabbing his hand and pulling him closer to her. ¡°Every Extra-Dimension pouches has different chant to open but this one doesn¡¯t have. All you need to do is focus on thinking of going inside the pouch and you will feel like the pouch is swallowing you. When you felt that you should think of what you want to get inside the pouch. and when you want to put something inside, all you need to do is be within 1 meter of the item and think of putting it inside the pouch.¡± Ysabele explained slowly. ¡°Here, try it. It is easier to understand if you experience it yourself.¡± She said before putting the pouch in his hand. He grabbed the pouch and tried putting the plates they used for eating. He stared at the plate for a sec before it disappeared. His face is full of excitement before thanking her aunt again. He then closed his eyes before a plate appeared in the same place it disappeared from. He laughed excitedly before calming down and saying ¡°it really is like that. It use a bit of mental energy but only an insignificant amount.¡± ¡°Yes it does use insignificant amount when you use it in small thing like that plate but it does use significant amount when you want to store a big item. So you should start having enlightenment from time to time to have better quality and quantity of mental energy.¡± Ysabele answered. ¡°That is my gift for you¡± she said while grabbing the envelope in her other hand before placing it on his hand. ¡°This is a letter written by your grandfather for you. If only you put more effort in enlightenment I would have given you this letter already. Your grandfather told me that you can only read this when you reach peak-foundational wiseman so don¡¯t blame me for delaying it for so long.¡± Deus haven¡¯t recovered from his shock in receiving the extra-dimension pouch only to hear her say that his grandfather left a letter for him. he could help but become much more excited because after his grandfather died, he didn¡¯t receive any warning nor did he know what happen and his grandfather was gone just like that. So when he heard he left a letter for him, he was much happier than when he received the pouch. He was about to open it when Ysabele suddenly said ¡°Open it later before you sleep. Aren¡¯t you embarrassed to receive my gift just to suddenly leave me in the air?¡± She said so while pouting cutely. He blushed from losing his manners and said ¡°Sorry Aunt Ysabele, I didn¡¯t mean it!¡± He then kept the letter before giving her aunt a hug while saying ¡°Thank you Aunt for being here with me everytime!¡± He went back to his sit after releasing Ysabele. Ysabele was shocked for a moment before realizing what happened and then she bushed before answering ¡°You naughty boy. Of course Aunty will all ways be here for you¡± she smile then for some reason her eyes looked blank for a bit like she thought of something bitter. The two of them chatted happily while eating their meal until they had their fill. Deus excused his self, saying he will have a bath before going out of the room. Ysabele stood quietly after he left before sighing murmuring something only she could hear. She cleaned everything before going out of the room too. An hour later, Ysabele just got out from the bathroom with her robe on walking in the hallway, absentmindedly thinking of something. ¡°I hope I had more time.¡± murmuring to herself before reaching her room. She then sighed and reached out to open the door before she heard a rustle inside the room. ¡°Who¡¯s there?!¡± Ysabele shouted angrily while hurriedly opening the door. Grandfathers Letter In the midst of the night, there was a young man anxiously walking back in fort inside his room. He is adorned by a robe seemingly fresh out from bath. His brows were knitted while thinking of something absentmindedly. He then took out an envelope from his drawer and murmured ¡°Should I open the letter now after all?¡± Turns out the young man is Deus. Hesitating if he should open his grandfather¡¯s letter or not. He stared blankly at the letter for a while before wearing a decisive face. ¡°Grandfather said that I should only open this when I reached the peak-foundational wiseman, I already reached this level for a few weeks so it should be the right time to open it.¡± Deus gripped the letter a bit stronger before he sat on his bed. He closed his eyes and breathe-in heavily. It took a few second before he opened his eyes again before expelling the air he took. Deus put a serious expression before putting some mental energy in the letter. Nothing happened at first when suddenly, the still air went turbulent till it was to the point that it formed a small tornado inside the room. He was starting to panic when suddenly the tornado stopped absorbing more wind and it scattered the accumulated wind. He readied his self for the impact as an impulse and closed his eyes. After waiting for a while, He didn¡¯t feel any wind coming in his way so he slowly opened his eyes and was shocked to see a person or so to say an avatar made from wind. The avatar smiled at him before opening its mouth. ¡°Sorry for giving a scare Deus, I just want you to realize how far can magic go because I know you are not much in to it.¡± ¡°Ii-s that you grandpa?¡± Deus was shocked that the voice and the face of the avatar is very familiar to him. ¡°Hohoho. Yes, it is me your grandpa.¡± The avatar said with a big teasing smile on his face. Deus was quiet for a while before overcoming the shock he felt. He first steadied his crumpled robe before smiling bitterly and said ¡°Grandpa you meanie, you scared me so much that I nearly shouted for Aunt Ysabele¡¯s help. That will be too embarrassing then.¡± Deus blushed then shooked his head and looked at his grandfather, amazement can be seen in his face. His grandfather laughed loudly before saying ¡°Ehhh, you two seems to be close huh. I didn¡¯t expect you to adapt having her by your side. I thought you will become a loner after I left¡±. Deus made a wry smile before answering ¡°Well, you are not wrong of me being a loner except that Aunt Ysabele is very kind to me that made me feel safe every time I am with her.¡± The old man eyes had a glint but it was gone after a moment. ¡°That¡¯s good to hear, at least I know you¡¯re not all alone.¡± He said with a caring tone. ¡°Anyway, it is nice to see you again.¡± Deus put on a happy smile too before saying ¡°I¡¯m just as happy to see grandpa too. It is just that, I wonder why can you have a conversation with me through a letter?¡± Deus can¡¯t hide his shock when he realized what is happening. ¡°That is why I said to you that magic has many other uses so you should place more interest in it. I left a part of my soul energy in this letter which is why I can have a normal conversation with you, as to what is soul energy, you are still too young and inexperienced to understand so even if I explain it, you will not understand and might even confuse you.¡± His grandfather explained Deus was quiet for a moment before asking a question again ¡°I understand now that it is because of magic but how can you talk to me even if¡¡± He hesitated first before continuing ¡°Even though you¡¯re already dead?¡± His grandfather didn¡¯t take offense and answered ¡°You can say that I¡¯m really that but not dead. This kind of things are still too early for you to know and might even bring you danger if I let you know so I will not¡±. The old man waited for a bit before saying again ¡°Deus my grandson, I know that you are very smart and intelligent but there are just things that can be known to a junior like you. I can say this things to you but not now. If you want to know it, then do your best to reach higher level of enlightenment. As you reach higher level, I might not need to say anything before you can find what it really is.¡± Deus wanted to say something before his grandfather spoke again ¡°Stop the question about this, you should instead listen to what I¡¯m about to say.¡± The old man then continued ¡°I made this letter because I need to warn you that the next time you see that strange dream again, I¡¯m already unable to help you because you are already a peak-foundational wiseman. There will be something different on it and you must not use what you will get in front of anyone or to misbehave and do something bad.¡± ¡°The things that will happen I there will confuse you but the better you understand of it, the bigger your responsibility is so Deus, you must promise your grandfather to do your best in carrying those responsibilities!¡± The old man warned him seriously. He waited for a bit before smiling. ¡°You don¡¯t need to be nervous, I know that given your character, nothing bad will happen.¡± Deus didn¡¯t know what to say and having a hard time to receive everything his grandfather told him. After a while he asked ¡°Will I be able to see grandfather again?¡± The old man smiled and said ¡°Yes, and not only once. So there is no need to be anxious. You should follow what your heart and mind wants to!¡± Deus smiled and nod. ¡°The day will come that me and aunt will come see you again¡± He said with excitement. The old man hesitated before saying in a bitter tone. ¡°I¡¯m sure that we will but not sure with Ysabele though. I¡¯m not in place to say this thing so I¡¯ll just tell you that there will be the time that Ysabele will need to go so you must be ready.¡±Stolen story; please report. Deus smile was replaced by shock and confusion. He wanted to speak but his grandfather spoke again ¡°I am out of time Deus, this avatar will collapse after a few more second¡±. He then grabbed something from inside his robe before reaching it out to Deus. ¡°Read this before you sleep. Remember, you should finish it before losing your consciousness!¡± Deus grabbed the scroll before placing it on top of his bed. he turned to his grandfather again wanting to continue his question earlier but before he can do so the avatar started to scatter. He heard his grandfather for the last time ¡°Farewell Deus!¡± He stared in shock before shouting ¡°Grandpa I still have question to ask!¡± He waited for a bit but to his disappointment the avatar continued to scatter while no one is answering. He watched the wind slowly blowing out of his room before feeling regret of not talking about Ysabele much earlier. He was absorbed in thinking the reason why his grandfather said Ysabele will have to go for a while. After a few minutes, he wasn¡¯t able to find any reason so he shook his head before sighing. Deus was about to sit on his bed before a gleam flashed through his eyes. He murmured ¡°Why didn¡¯t I think about this earlier. I¡¯m so panicky that it made me dumb for a moment.¡± he turned around and started walking towards the door. He walked slowly while humming in a low volume in the hallway. Deus is in front of Ysabele¡¯s room after a while. That¡¯s right, he simply thought of asking Ysabele directly to know why she will have to go away. He was about to knock when he remembered that it is already late in the night. He realized that what he is doing is ill mannered so he turned around and quietly left. Deus murmured while walking back to his room ¡°I¡¯ll just ask aunt tomorrow when we eat our breakfast.¡± He then thought of what he was about to do earlier and can¡¯t help but blush but he shook his head and thought ¡°He is my aunt so nothing is wrong in going in to her room at night even she is a girl!¡±. He convinced his self but still didn¡¯t go back to Ysabele¡¯s room. Meanwhile Deus and his grandfather is having a conversation inside his room, Ysabele hurriedly opened the door of her room while shouting ¡°Who¡¯s there!¡± She saw two person inside her room covered with black cloth all over their body except for the eyes. The two of them was shocked on hearing someone opening the door while shouting. They simultaneously looked back to see a woman in a bathing robe. ¡°Shit! We¡¯re discovered! Run for it!¡± The person near Ysabele¡¯s drawer said with a voice that can¡¯t be said to be a woman nor a man. Just as they were about to move, Ysabele waved her hand before the two of them froze in place. ¡°I¡¯m asking who the hell are you two!¡± Ysabele said while walking gracefully inside her room before closing the door again. The two trespassers didn¡¯t say anything and bit something inside their mouth. The eye of the trespassers suddenly turned white and foams started to leak out from their mouth. Ysabele saw what happened and that made her wore a shocked expression. She waved her hand again before a ¡®thud¡¯ sound was heard. She only needed a moment to recover from her shock before murmuring ¡°Don¡¯t tell me they are here because¡¡± Before Ysabele can finish murmuring she heard a male¡¯s voice ¡°Yes you¡¯re right, they are here for that thing that you brought out with you.¡± Ysabele was surprised to hear that voice and turned around. She saw a middle aged man passing through the door without opening it. He is adorned by a red robe designed with a golden phoenix. ¡°Uncle Robert what are you doing here?¡± Ysabele said with a bitter tone. ¡°What am I doing here? Not even greeting your uncle huh. This is making me so sad¡± Uncle Robert said so. He then continued ¡°I¡¯m here to tell you that playing house is over. Your father sent me here to take you back home.¡± She was quiet for a moment before opening her mouth but wasn¡¯t able to finish ¡°No more delays. Last time I let you stayed a year longer but that¡¯s not happening again. Your father is not happy to you in playing house with this little kid. His father is only a general in this country¡¯s capital so what are staying here for?¡± Ysabele bow her head down and didn¡¯t say anything. She sighed heavily before speaking ¡°I¡¯ll just say good bye okay? I can do that right?¡± Robert stared at her for a moment before speaking ¡°That boy is just a nobody, why do you care about him so much?¡± She didn¡¯t answer and continued to make her way out of the room. In Deus room ¡°Yeah I should just wait for tomorrow and ask Aunt Ysabele why.¡± Deus said before sitting up on his bed. He suddenly remembered the scroll his grandfather gave to him. ¡°Grandfather told me to read this before sleeping. I wonder what is written in this.¡± He said so while taking out the scroll. He slowly pulled the scroll from left to right. It took a moment before he fully open the scroll and was shocked to see nothing written on it. Looking confused, he murmured to himself. ¡°That¡¯s it? Did grandpa give the wrong scroll?¡± He was about to close it when the upper part of the scroll lit up. When the light was gone, the empty scroll is not empty anymore, it now has scribbles here and there. The scribbles look like an ancient mark but he can¡¯t help but feel familiar with it. He blinked his eyes before looking at it again and was surprised that he can actually understand what was written. ¡°Bookkeepers¡± He read slowly having a hard time familiarizing with it. ¡°Bookkeepers? what¡¯s that? librarians?¡± He muttered to himself. He was not finished wondering when the scroll lit up again. When the light was gone, the vacant scroll was filled with the ancient mark. He looked at the additional mark and slowly murmured ¡°I remember! These marks are the same mark written in the wall from that strange dream.¡± He focused on the scroll trying to read what is written. After a while he felt like he was being swallowed by the scroll and his consciousness is continuously collapsing. He remembered what his grandfather said ¡®remember to not lose consciousness before finishing it¡¯ He focused on the words not the one written in the scroll but the one he remember inside his mind and his heart. While all of this is happening the scroll is already gone and his real body is already lying on top of his bed. He relaxed his mind and removed all the panic he had before starting to read again. ¡°Books are like a world. Every word has volume that makes up the whole world. It is full of vitality and emotion. That is said, every word that is gone or replace will make the world different. Even though books are something unchangeable and eternal once written, there are exemptions. The bookrippers that rips a book soul has the power to change a happy world inside the book to a tragic one. They who is condemned by the book, they who are prohibited from enlightenment, they are the bloodrippers! They destroy worlds inside different books to gain their means forcibly. The only way to stop them and make them powerless is to return the destroyed world in how should it be and that¡¯s what bookkeepers can. That¡¯s what you are! You are a bookkeeper!¡± he continued to read until he finished every word while losing his consciousness bit by bit. He was about to close his eyes when he suddenly heard a voice. ¡°I¡¯m sorry Deus, I can¡¯t stay with you anymore.¡± All I wanted was a magical wand Chapter 5: All want was a magical wand! In a quarter inside a library, a woman can be seen briskly walking through the hallway. She has a long black hair swaying with the wind as she went through the door of a young man¡¯s room. Ysabele looked at the young man lying on the bed. He looked like he fell asleep while reading as his posture while sleeping is in an awkward position. She walked near the young man¡¯s bed and made a bitter smile while gently sitting next to him. Ysabele reached out her hand and brushed his hair before saying ¡°I am sorry Deus, I can¡¯t be with you from now on¡±. She stared at him for a moment before continuing. ¡°If I can do so I would have stayed with you for as long as I live but fate didn¡¯t want me to do so.¡± ¡°If fate wants it, I hope we can see each other again¡± She said with a voice full of love and care. She used her hand to touch Deus cheeks and said ¡°You meanie, sleeping so soundly as always. Hmph, Let¡¯s see who will cry so much after finding out that I¡¯m already gone¡± Ysabele had a sulky face when she remembered a thing in the past. ¡°Right, all I wanted was a magical wand after all¡± She jokingly murmured to herself while a scene was playing in her mind. ¡ In the vast blue sky, there is a young woman who was riding a red carpet with a phoenix sigil flying as fast as she can. In front of her is a branch of a mysterious tree emanating a chilling aura. The branch is also flying as fast as it can like it didn¡¯t the girl catching up. ¡°Damn you old piece of a wood! Don¡¯t you dare run away from me!¡± The woman said with an irritated look in her face. The branch sped up some more like it was ridiculing the woman ¡°Who¡¯s the old piece of wood?¡± The woman was shocked to see the sudden burst of speed made by the branch and was left behind until the branch was out of her perception. She then made a bitter smile and shook her head before heaving a sigh. The woman has a long black hair, an oval face with a plump pink lips and a pair of violet eyes can take away any man¡¯s heart. She has a fair skin and slender body that can entice even a monk¡¯s desire. She was about to leave when she saw a place full of festive and lively environment. ¡°There seems to have something going on in there. Might as well join the liveliness¡± She said to console herself for being unable to catch the branch. She flew over an unpopulated place near the festive city not wanting to gather other attention. She then walked her way to the city gate. There was a long line of people near the city gates. That line is for ordinary people that want to enter the city. It is not prohibited for ordinary person to enter but they needed to pay tax first. She didn¡¯t need to line up and pass through the side gate after using a small scale magic to signify that she is a wiseman. She went to the central part of the city directly after she heard from the gossiping people why the city was full of hustle and bustle. ¡°There is still an hour before the event starts, I might as well fill my stomach¡± She said so after smelling the fragrant smell from the biggest restaurant in the central part of the city. The restaurant is named Lilac Delis, it is the best Inn inside Genesis city. Lilac Delis is a 3 storey building with the lowest floor being for the middle class people and the second floor for rich and powerful families. The third floor is constructed differently than the other two floors because it was made for VIPs. Everybody knows that Lilac Delis is an untouchable place because it is a side branch of Inns that the Lilac family from the capital of Oasis kingdom. The young woman in a red robe entered the Inn and was greeted by a servant ¡°Good afternoon Madame! Are you new in here?¡± The young woman was confused why she was being asked by a question like that and didn¡¯t answer for a while. The servant didn¡¯t panic and seems like he knew what is going on so he said ¡°I am the assistant manager of the Inn so I¡¯m more or less familiar with the people that eat here and it is just a coincidence that I was unfamiliar with Madame.¡± The woman nodded to say no problem and confirm that it is her first time eating here. The servant understood what the nod means and continued ¡°Our little Inn has different accommodation based on how much a person will use for a meal or if you are a part of an important family, I saw this Madame was new here and since I didn¡¯t know what family where you from, may I politely ask what floor will you dine?¡± The servant said so while reaching his hand to give a piece of paper for the information of the difference in prices if you eat in second or first floor. The young woman looked at the paper for a moment before asking ¡°How about the third floor?¡± ¡°It is always reserved for families that have connection with government in the kingdom. There are some exceptions but I don¡¯t have the power to allow this young miss in there.¡± He said with a smile. ¡°Okay, I¡¯ll dine in the second floor then¡± The young woman said unconcerned. His twitched from the tone used by the young woman but still kept a smile before saying ¡°Okay Madame, follow me.¡± He then led the way to the second floor. The young woman spoke before reaching the second floor ¡°I prefer being close to the window if it¡¯s possible.¡± The servant didn¡¯t speak and continued to lead the way until they reached a place with a round table for four people to eat. The place is as the woman said, close to a window and to be precise It is in the balcony. ¡°Is this place alright?¡± The servant asked. ¡°Hmm, it is enough. I would like to order your best dish and best wine.¡± She said while sitting in the left side of the table. ¡°Yes Madame, it will take quarter an hour to serve.¡± The servant said before giving a bow and leaving. The young woman didn¡¯t look at the servant again and stared outside the balcony where people are busy on their own agendas. ¡°I hope the event will be fun to watch.¡± She said while not hoping much from it. As far a she knew this competition is only in a small city inside a low ranked kingdom. There was silence for a few second before she heard an old man¡¯s voice ¡°Why not join? It might be more fun that way.¡± The young woman stood up and cautioned herself while turning her head from where the voice came from. ¡°You don¡¯t need to be alert. I meant no harm¡± He said calmly. The girl didn¡¯t move for a moment before she sat again with while still ready to fight any moment. She can¡¯t help but be alerted because her perception didn¡¯t detect the old man. Even now that she is aware that the old man is right in front of the table, she won¡¯t know that someone is in there if her eyesight didn¡¯t see the man itself. ¡°Sorry for the disturbance¡± The old man sincerely said before asking while holding the chair in the right side. ¡°May I?¡± The young woman nodded with her vigilance still high. She asked ¡°How may I help sir? You won¡¯t approach me for nothing right?¡± Although she knew she can¡¯t defeat the old man in a fight, she had the confidence to escape so she is not afraid but only shocked to see someone so strong in this kind of place. The old man can¡¯t be help but nod with praise on how the young woman treated the situation. He gave it a thought before saying ¡°Let¡¯s not be in a hurry, we might as well eat first.¡± A small bell suddenly appeared I the table then the old man grab it. He shook the bell lightly that produced a tingling sound which lasted for a sec before it disappeared. Moments later, a man donned by a suit came with two servants following him, the assistant manager included. ¡°So it is Mr. Sigmund¡¡± The man wanted to continue speaking when the old man called Sigmund spoke again. ¡°No need for pleasantries. Serve us all best dishes you have with the wine I used to have.¡± ¡°No problem, give me a moment.¡± He turned back and shouted ¡°Serve the food!¡± Eight person carrying different dishes came in not even a second after he shouted. ¡°I hope you enjoy mister!¡± he bowed down before turning back to leave. The servant gave a bow to before leaving. The old man didn¡¯t look at them but instead said to the young woman ¡°Let¡¯s eat first!¡± He didn¡¯t wait for the young woman and started eating already. The young woman can¡¯t be help but shocked to see how the man in suit treated him. She murmured ¡°That man in suit must be the manager. I guess this old man is from the capital¡± She stared at the old man first before looking at the food. ¡®It doesn¡¯t look that bad¡¯ she thought inwardly. The two of them started eating leisurely with elegance and nobleness. if other people saw what is happening, they will think ¡°Are they really eating or performing an art?¡± When he felt that he had enough food, the old man took his wine glass and poured some wine before sipping a bit. ¡°Hmm, still taste the same. That old man in the capital is still as good as he was many years ago.¡± He held the wine again and asked ¡°Want some? This wine will still be treated as luxury back in your place.¡± The girl suddenly stopped from eating. She was now a bit scared of this old man. If earlier she felt she can escape, that confidence is waning bit by bit. She was shocked to hear that this old man knows her identity but still approached her like this. ¡°No need to be afraid, if I wanted to harm then even we¡¯re in front of your father he¡¯ll be powerless to do anything.¡± The old man said while staring outside the balcony. He looked at the girl before saying ¡°This wine is very special, think about it. Even your dad might not have a chance to have some, only your mother might be able to but not as much as this bottle.¡± The girl stared blankly to the old man before heaving a sign as she muttered inwardly ¡®This old even know who my mother is? I guess he doesn¡¯t mean harm then¡¯. She didn¡¯t have any choice but to accept because her mother is a big shot that not many people will want to offend. Her vigilance started to ease and said ¡°Then I will have some.¡± The old man smiled and poured wine in her glass before speaking ¡°This wine is made by an expert that not many people knew. This is only available for few people that he has connection with. Even you scare that old man to death, he might not brew one for you¡±. He paused then said ¡°Try it, don¡¯t drink it all in one gulp or there might be some accidents that will happen.¡± The girl nodded and reached her wine glass. To be honest, she can¡¯t wait to taste the wine that this unfathomable old man. The young woman can be said to be a little gourmet. ¡®I hope it is as good as this old man say¡¯ she thought to herself. She sipped a bit from her glass following the instruction of the old man. The young woman had a feeling that she was one with heaven and earth and with one thought she could cleave the ocean in half. That feeling stayed for a few seconds before she felt a warm current flowing inside her body that made her. The young woman came back to herself and stared at her wine glass. She was shocked to the extreme on the effect from having a small sip. The old man laugh from seeing her expression and explained ¡°This wine is called Soul Formation wine. It helps a person to connect with the soul of the book you made a connection with. So, tell me, ain¡¯t this wine a luxury even where you came from?¡± She looked at the old man without saying anything and looked back at her glass and took a sip again afraid of not being able to finish it in time. The old man had an amused looked and said jokingly ¡°Won¡¯t you marry my grandson for this good wine?¡± The young woman stared at the old man with an incredulous look but can¡¯t help to reconsider and be tempted by that offer. It was the old man¡¯s turn to be shocked for a moment before laughing. ¡°You little girl, don¡¯t worry, this bottle is yours and don¡¯t need to exchange it for anything.¡± The old man said with a smile on his face. The girl blinked her eyes before reaching out her hand and grabbing the bottle. She put it carefully inside her extra-dimension pouch afraid of losing or breaking it. She heaved a sigh of relief after safely keeping the bottle of wine. The old man made a big smile when he saw what happened. ¡°Okay. I think it¡¯s an ill manner of me not introducing myself.¡± He paused then looked seriously at the young woman before saying ¡°I am Sigmund Tibular, I live here in Genesis city as a librarian master of Tibular Library. It is but a humble foundational level.¡± The woman felt shy for not introducing back so she answered ¡°I am Ysabele Pheonix, I guess you already know all about my information so there is no need to say.¡± She paused before giving a bow ¡°I¡¯ll have to thank you for the food and wine.¡± It was at this moment that she realized something wrong. ¡®Foundational level? live here?¡¯ She thought before sitting again and wearing a confused expression. ¡°There is no need to think hard of it. There are many experts across this land like me. It is actually not that bad living here. I prefer staying here as much as possible if I had a choice¡± Sigmund explained slowly. That answer didn¡¯t ease her confusion but she shook her head because she understood that there are things that a junior like her don¡¯t need to know in the meantime. She then remembered something and asked ¡°Senior, may I know why did you come for me? Do I have something that I can help with?¡± She knew that even though the things she received is nothing before this old man¡¯s eyes, it is the opposite for her. The old man hesitated and suddenly had an idea to confirm what he wants to know. ¡°Hmm yes, I do have something I want you to do but don¡¯t worry you will not return empty-handed from doing so.¡± ¡°Just say what it is and this junior will do her best¡± She answered sincerely. The old man smiled ¡°You¡¯ve heard of the event later right? I want you to join in it and win. If you do I have some old wood here that is perfect for scratching your back.¡±Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. Ysabele was bewildered by what the old man said because if she joined that event, that will be an utter bullying for the remaining contestant. She was about to say her basis and reject when her eyes went wide after seeing the old wood that the old man was talking about. ¡°TTh-that was the branch I was catching earlier!¡± She said with a loud voice. Realizing how she was acting, Ysabele blushed before calming herself. ¡°So what, are you joining or not?¡± Sigmund said ¡°Of course I will! I just said earlier that I will do my best to be of help to senior¡± Ysabele said hurriedly while feeling ashamed. ¡®Will do my best my ass. I was about to reject earlier. I didn¡¯t think this old man caught that bastard old wood¡¯ She cursed the wood inwardly. ¡®This is all for revenge, just wait there you old wood!¡¯ Sigmund had an amused smile looking like he knew what the girl was thinking. ¡°Okay then. You need to be a resident of Genesis city to join so you should use Tibular as your surname when you join.¡± He said before taking another sip of his wine. ¡°Yes senior!¡± Ysabele answered excitedly while imagining how to punish that old wood. ¡°Let¡¯s finish eating for now. We still have half an hour before the competition start.¡± Sigmund replied. They continued eating for a few more minutes before Sigmund rang the bell again to pay for their food. The manager didn¡¯t want to accept it but was forced in the end due to Sigmund¡¯s firmness on wanting to pay. The old man and the young woman walked side by side until they reached a place called Tibular Library. ¡°This event is being run by my family every five years to see who has the best talents in the city and recruit them as librarian apprentices to work at the library and in return we allow them to use our resources and books for achieving better heights in enlightenment.¡± The old man explained. ¡°After every five years, the recruited librarians can choose to stay or leave to explore and sought for higher level libraries out there.¡± He paused to greet people they ran into before continuing ¡°It is the same this year and I like you to join that same even.¡± ¡°Do have any question?¡± Sigmund asked. ¡°How do you test their talents?¡± Ysabele curiously asked. Sigmund smiled and looked at the direction of a big book statue in the central part of the library. ¡°You just need to place your hand in that book and it will produce a light. The number of pages that will light up signifies how much kind of enlightenment you have achieved, for example; fire, earth, wind, and etc. The brightness of each page is proportional o how much understanding you had currently in each of those enlightenments.¡± He slowly explained while walking in the hallway. Ysabele was shocked because even though their way of testing talent is the place she came from was much better, this kind of testing gives much accurate information that can actually help a person know that he still haven¡¯t reached the limit on different kinds of enlightenment. ¡°Some says that focusing in one kind is better, I don¡¯t disagree with that but it is not that accurate too because if you want to reach much higher level, you will need to understand many different kinds of enlightenment.¡± Sigmund explained. ¡°There is a third function in that book but people in this place usually don¡¯t care about it but it is different for you and many aspiring geniuses out there.¡± He said in a lecturing tone. ¡°The third function will let you see different shades of colour in each page. Every shade of colour signifies a type of enlightenment. That means, if I have a record of what that colour signifies, I can tell you what kind of enlightenments you currently touched upon but haven¡¯t realized it exists.¡± The girl was astonished on what she heard and become excited to join the event. The old man stopped walking and said with a playful smile ¡°That is why even though you are already a peak-sovereign wiseman, winning is not a guarantee. You¡¯re lucky that my grandson is not joining or you will surely lose¡± The old man laughed uproariously before looking back ¡°You can go and enlist your name in the participant at the central area, I need to visit my grandson first.¡± The girl was shocked to hear the old man¡¯s boasting and put on a sulk before answering ¡°Okay senior, see you later then¡±. The two of them walked in a different path. Ysabele walked briskly while grumbling to herself ¡°Wait till you see how genius I am old man, let me here you boast about your grandson again then!¡± She made her way to the central area which is not as she expected. Even though there are many people watching around the central part there are only a few hundred participants neatly waiting till the event starts. Tibular Library is only considered as foundational level Library but it is not small at all, if it can be described in words then it is big, really big. It is even as big or bigger that Lilac Delis. They only accommodate the public with foundational level books but in reality, those that are chosen as librarian apprentices is accommodated with noble level books that is one level higher than foundational. Those that are loyal and chose to stay in the Tibular Library after so many years are accommodated with lord level books a level higher than noble level and those that are candidates for librarian master/mistress is given a chance to enlighten with a master level book. The librarian master/mistress can access grandmaster level books. All of these are privy only to lord level members and above. If other people knew about this, they will be shocked till their eyes balls roll out because even those big families at the capital only have their old ancestors as grandmaster level and master level for the current patriarch. Even the king of the country is only a level above grandmaster which is a sovereign level. Those that reach peak-grandmaster wiseman, although few, will have to pass down his position as library master/mistress to the one of the current candidates and the other candidate that wasn¡¯t picked as librarian master will be considered as librarian elders which will have half the responsibility inside the library as the other half will be given to the master. The Ex-librarian master/mistress will then go to the capital and serve under the military of Oasis kingdom as Wilfred¡¯s subordinate. (Deus father, see at chapter1) nobody knows what level Wilfred really is but he is supposed to be one of the strongest sovereign wiseman general of Oasis Kingdom only a bit weaker than the king. In the central area of Tibular Library, an old man appeared near the statue of a big book with a young boy following next to him. ¡°Sorry for the wait everyone, I formally start the competition now! I hope everyone be blessed by spirit of the books.¡± Sigmund said calmly but his voiced echoed inside the library. ¡°The first stage is as always. There are ten table gathered around the statue, there are librarian apprentices in each table that will test if you are qualified to take the next stage. Begin the testing!¡± The old man announced while the young boy is hiding on his back seemingly afraid from the crowd¡¯s attention. The testing started immediately and you can see an excited young men and women lining in front of the ten tables. Ysabele is currently in the middle of on line gathering the attention of many youth. ¡°Who is that girl? It¡¯s the first time I saw her here in Genesis.¡± a young man said. ¡°Yes, me too. She is so pretty.¡± Another young man murmured Even some young women can¡¯t help but agree with the boy who spoke. Ysabele wore a wry smile in her face that made her look much more beautiful before looking at the old man near the statue and murmuring to herself ¡®hang in there Ysabele, this is for your revenge!¡¯ The line is quickly shortening as many dejected youth came out from the central area failing to qualify for the next stage. ¡°Don¡¯t lose hope! Failing once or twice doesn¡¯t mean you will fail forever. The library is always open to anyone who wants to enlighten as long as you follow the rules!¡± Sigmund cheered up. The depressed youths came back to themselves and put on a determined face. ¡°This old man is not so bad after all¡± Ysabele muttered in her heart. ¡°Next!¡± It was finally her turn after waiting for quarter an hour. She put her right hand on top a mirror which produced a light and an illusory book floating in the air. That book looks the same as the statue. ¡°Ehhh, Pass!¡± The librarian apprentice said with shock in his written in his eyes. ¡¯It¡¯s my first time seeing this mirror produce a book as clear as this one¡¯ he said internally. It only took a few moments before he remembered his responsibility. ¡°You can wait inside.¡± He said while pointing at the perimeter near the statue where a few tens of people are waiting. He then shouted ¡°Next!¡± Ysabele walked inside the perimeter and thought ¡®it was over? I didn¡¯t even know I passed¡¯. She shook her head and said ¡°Well, it¡¯s not my business. Everything is fine as long as I win the first place.¡± The first stage was done after another quarter an hour passed. Even though there are few hundreds of people, Sigmund placed ten testing area to see who are qualified so it didn¡¯t took that long. Looking at those who passed, Sigmund nodded his head in approval. ¡°It seems there are more talented young ones in our city this 5 year cycle, congratulation to all qualifiers!¡± He paused before continuing ¡°To those who qualified, you can all apply as a trainee librarian apprentice. You will be supervised by a librarian apprentice for two years and if before or at that due time you already reached mid-foundational wiseman, you¡¯ll be able to apply as a librarian apprentice. Good luck everyone! Let the stage two begin.¡± ¡°Deus, you are already old enough so you need to interact with people more often, I leave supervising the stage two to you, okay?¡± Sigmund said to the young man behind him. Deus glanced at his grandfather before nodding and answering ¡°I will do my best grandpa!¡± He walked near the statue wearing a serious face while emanating a haughty aura while mattering to his self ¡®I think this is friendly enough¡¯. ¡°Good day everyone, I am Deus and I¡¯m here to supervise the second stage. First of all, I would like you to form a line according to what level of wiseman you already are and according to what age you are. The young ones in early foundational wiseman will be first and will be followed as to how I said earlier. Do any of you have a question?¡± He said so in a monotonous voice. ¡°That young man is so arrogant and very irritating¡± Ysabele muttered to herself. Many young men and women misunderstood him too. Nobody answered so Deus said ¡°Since no one has a question let us start. Begin lining up everybody!¡± Sigmund sighed and shook his head with a bitter smile ¡®This child inherited that irritating traits from his father¡¯. The youth finished lining up and began appraising their talent one by one. One particular young man is excitedly looking at the statue confirming that he didn¡¯t see it wrongly. ¡°23 kinds of enlightenment, 3 are already acquired with one at mid- foundational and two at the early level.¡± Deus announced. ¡°Pass, you can choose to stay as a librarian apprentice in our library or pick one book of foundational level and join the other family.¡± He was not the first one to pass but currently the best of the one who took the exam. ¡°You can relay your decision later after the examination ends. Next!¡± Deus said with the same monotonous tone. The test went on and the may top talent young men and women were discovered. The best talented person was changed for many times till there is only one more participant left. ¡°It¡¯s your turn young miss¡± Ysabele came back to her senses when she heard Deus¡¯ voice. ¡°Yes, sorry for the delay!¡± She said with an irritated voice. Deus looked at her with a confused look but in Ysabele¡¯s view it was an arrogant glare. She snorted and continued walking toward the statue. ¡®Hmph, just watch there and see how a frog in a well you are¡¯ she said in her mind. Sigmund can¡¯t help but put an amused smile seeing the two of them act like that. ¡®Hmm, I look forward to what will happen after a few years¡¯ He thought while putting a big smile. Ysabele placed here hand on the statue and closed her eyes. ¡®I need to control the energy I put to the foundational level. This sounds like a joke.¡¯ She felt a connection was made to the statue that made her sense being one with heaven and earth. It didn¡¯t take long in the outside but it was like a whole day inside her mind. It was like a wonderful dream before she heard gasping sound made by the crowd. Deus was a bit shocked too but he recovered quickly because he didn¡¯t that much about enlightenment. ¡°Ohh my, a genius is born in our city!¡± an old woman said excitedly. ¡°This, so many enlightenment, just who is that girl?¡± a middle aged man muttered in a loud voice. Ysabele opened her eyes to take a look in how her talent was appraised. She saw many pages lit up in different colours. Over fifty pages are lit up brightly signifying that they are at peak foundational level. Some pages have late, mid and early stages but there are also some that has a colour but not lit up. ¡°I didn¡¯t think that I still had some enlightenment that is still in foundational level, this is embarrassing¡± She whispered to herself before looking at the few pages that remains unlit but have a colour. ¡®I wonder what kind of enlightenment this is.¡¯ ¡°129 pages has a colour, 83 is at peak-foundational, 17 at late foundational, 15 at mid foundational, and 5 at the early foundational level. There are also 10 unlit colours that means you had touched upon an enlightenment but haven¡¯t realized what are those yet.¡± He said in the same monotonous voice. ¡°The Event is over, I ask that all those that passed stay here and all those that failed the stage two but passed the first one go to their respective tester in first stage and apply being a trainee if you want to.¡± He announced to the crowd. When people started subsiding and only those who passed the second stage are left, he looked over them before saying ¡°Follow me to get your prizes¡± He led them to his grandfather. ¡°Not bad Deus, I¡¯ll take it from here.¡± Sigmund said before walking forward facing the young men and women who passed the second stage. ¡°First of all, I would like to ask who among you will stay and work as an apprentice in our library? Those that choose to stay can go in that hallway. An elder will guide you on what to do.¡± Sigmund announced. After he spoke, many youth excitedly walked over the hallway and only a few were left behind. ¡°I know you guys are from a big family so say the name of the book that you want one by one¡± Sigmund said. After awarding the few youth left, only Sigmund, Ysabele and Deus was left. ¡°Grandfather there is still this woman here that you forgot to give a prize.¡± Deus said in a low voice. His grandfather chuckled and looked at her before saying ¡°Hmm, perfect, I finally found someone to be a new librarian master.¡± He smiled before answering Deus ¡°You young man, when did I teach you to be disrespectful.¡± He looked over Ysabele and said ¡°Sorry Ysabele, I haven¡¯t introduced you to your nephew so he didn¡¯t know who you are. My oh my, it was my fault.¡± Deus was shocked to hear what his grandfather said and realized how disrespectful he was to his aunt. Ysabele acted proudly at first hearing the old man apologize but was startled when she heard the full sentence. She was about to retort ¡®when did I become your daughter?¡¯ when she heard Deus voice. ¡°I¡¯m sorry Aunt Ysabele for being disrespectful!¡± He said sincerely in a low voice while bowing his head. Ysabele froze from being called ¡®Aunt¡¯ and was about to curse Deus when Sigmund spoke. ¡°Good, you can back to your room for now. I still have something to talk with your aunt.¡± ¡°Yes grandpa. See you later!¡± He hesitated first before saying goodbye to Ysabele too. Ysabele didn¡¯t have time to speak before he was gone and can only stare at the place where he disappeared from. She burst from her anger and glared at Sigmund. ¡°What¡¯s the meaning of this senior? When did I become your daughter?¡± she said while trembling, calming herself down. Sigmund chuckled and said ¡°Check your soul energy first¡± She did as Sigmund said and was shocked to see a seal with a branding that looks like Sigmund. ¡°YYy-you, what did you do to me!¡± ¡°Don¡¯t panic. It is nothing lethal. It will only prevent you from going out of this city and being detected by some else.¡± He paused before continuing ¡°Don¡¯t worry, I won¡¯t harm and will also reward you highly for the things you¡¯ll do for me.¡± Ysabele was confused and asked. ¡°What do you want me to do? Why do you need to seal me?¡± The old man smiled at her before answering ¡°I don¡¯t have enough time anymore, I might disappear in any moment now so I need someone to look out for Deus.¡± He took out a piece of wood and threw it at her. ¡°Sorry for trapping you here but I had no other choice.¡± Ysabele caught the piece of a wood. I didn¡¯t look like the way it was before. It is now prettily crafter into a magical wand. She didn¡¯t have enough time to check and asked the old man ¡°Me to look out for your grandson? Are you joking?¡± She tried to confirm that he was joking but he wore a serious face and didn¡¯t say anything. She wanted to cry but tears won¡¯t come out. ¡°It is only for 5 years. After that, the seal will automatically be removed and you can do as you please.¡± he explained Ysabele still can¡¯t believe what was happening and took a moment to reply ¡°Aren¡¯t you afraid that I¡¯ll do something bad to Deus?¡± She tried to look malicious while saying it but only made her even cuter. ¡°Will I do all of this if I didn¡¯t know you won¡¯t?¡± Sigmund confidently answered. She was stumped and didn¡¯t know what to say. Moments later she asked helplessly ¡°Why me? Where are his mother and father? Can it be that he only has you?¡± Sigmund made a bitter smile and answered ¡°Well you¡¯re not wrong in that. His mother died before he turned 1 year old and that made his father down and since then he thought that he is not worthy to be his father so he left after his first birthday.¡± Sigmund paused before continuing ¡°I didn¡¯t want to leave him alone but I have no choice. This corporeal body of mine will soon disappear and I can¡¯t send another one anytime soon.¡± It was Ysabele¡¯s turn to turn quiet and feel sorry for adding salt on a healing wound. She heaved a sigh and asked ¡°What do I need to do for him?¡± Sigmund was surprised to see how fast she accepted it and gave her a sincere smile before answering ¡°You don¡¯t need to do anything. You just need to guide him of what is wrong and right and protect him in case there is any danger that will happen.¡± Ysabele nodded her head and finished calming herself. Even though she didn¡¯t want to do it, she had no other choice but to accept because it is already happening. Then she suddenly remembered how haughty and arrogant that boy is. ¡°I need to teach an arrogant boy like him right manners? won¡¯t this be too hard?¡± She blurted out unconsciously. Sigmund chuckled and answered ¡°Well, he looks like that but to tell you the truth, Deus is trying hard to look as friendly as possible. It is not because he is arrogant or something. He only didn¡¯t know how to do it correctly and unconsciously make that kind of face.¡± Ysabele asked as she was still confused ¡°You¡¯re saying that he is not how he looks like and instead the opposite of it?¡± ¡°Yes, even a rabbit is much rougher than him¡± Sigmund said before laughing loudly. ¡°Pfft, don¡¯t tell me he thinks that face will make people approach him?¡± Ysabele giggled from imagining it. Sigmund gave her a warm smile. ¡°You don¡¯t have to worry about your resources you need for enlightenment. Before I disappear, I will make sure you have enough to suffice your need for 10 years or more just to be sure.¡± He said ¡°Ehh, you don¡¯t really need to. I went out from home to train outside so I have enough.¡± She said with a delicate tone. Sigmund waved his hand and said ¡°I never been an ungrateful person so I need to be sure that in those five years, your current speed in enlightenment will not go slower and need to be faster instead.¡± He glanced at her again before saying ¡°This old man owe you and will do anything you want as long as it is not beyond my bottom line once in the future. Till then keep this Bookmark with you, it might help you in surviving some calamities so keep it safe.¡± She received the Bookmark and held it with the same hand holding the wand. ¡°From now on you will act as my substitute as a Librarian mistress so you can acquire any details you want about the library by accessing the vault in the office. I know that you¡¯re an intelligent person so I don¡¯t need to explain anything. For now, you can have a rest inside the quarter. I need to meet up with someone so I will go now.¡± Sigmund said before disappearing. Ysabele stared dumbly in the air before heaving a sigh and shook her head. ¡°From now on I will be a nanny of a young man for five years huh.¡± She smiled bitterly before remembering the gift she received. She looked at her hand holding the wand and the Bookmark before saying with a depressed tone ¡°All I wanted was a magical wand!¡±
