《Memories of a Trained Killer》 First day of Class I walk into this overly bright room and what do I see a bunch of fucking kids who don''t know that their future is already determined for them by the assholes who put me here. I''ve been doing this for ten years, and I''ve hated every minute of it. No matter what happens invariably there''s always one kid who I''ve killed either their parent or their Donor. Looking at the class I see this year is not going to be different in that regard, but they do mix it up a bit at least. For who do I see but all of my sister''s Changelings. This is gonna be fun. Like that year father trained me in anti-interrogation techniques. Ah, the tortures I had to endure, how I miss time with father. "Hello class, I am your instructor for the next five years." As soon as I turn to face the class, what happens but the obvious. Paolo, my sister''s first Changeling, stands and angrily says "You son of a bitch I''ll kill you." Like I said nothing new. "Please, don''t make me kill you, Paolo, I''ve not even had my coffee. To be honest, I''d like to eat something first too, but I doubt you''ll wait long enough for me to get some eggs and maybe a steak. If you insist I can kill you later. I understand you loved Ireliana lik..."If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. "Don''t you dare say her name, you have no righ..." "I HAVE NO RIGHT, SHE WAS MY SISTER YOU USELESS FUCK," I curse. Taking a deep breath, "Now for the rest of you, my name is Borelli St. Johns...Mr. St. Johns if you say one more fucking word I''ll rip out your tongue and the class can learn how long it takes to regenerate from such an injury. You finished, good." *sigh* "Where was I, ah yes I have spent the last ten years of my extremely long life teaching the Welps of the Changed about what it is to be Pack. Before you get your chance to join our illustrious culture. If you can''t tell I do not like this job, I don''t like you, I fucking hate your parents, and one day I will break this blood oath and kill them all." I say with a wolfish grin on my face. "Any questions?" Meeting the Class I suppose I should describe some of these Whelps. I¡¯ll start with Paolo, above average height somewhere along to lines of 6¡¯2¡±. Of the apparent age of 18 and of Italian descent, with the oddity of blue eyes. I mostly assume because she missed me. I am blond haired and blue eyed much like our mother. Ireliana favored our father more with her auburn hair and green eyes. Oddly father said I more closely resembled his father in my changed form. Whereas Ireliana was like a carbon copy of our mother, but I''ll get back to describing them later for now back to the class. I¡¯ll tell you about my sister¡¯s Changelings first, I suppose. Bell was a young fourteen when my sister changed her. She was from the Congo but had the most vibrant green eyes. From her file, she is an intuitive and fast learner but thinks everyone beneath her. Which if she can get over what has Paolo up in arms, we¡¯ll get along just fine. Virginia was the last to be added to my sister¡¯s menagerie, and the only other one to live. American, changed shortly after the colonies started according to her file. Young by any standard to be Changed, a mere 11 years old. If it weren¡¯t for her vastly superior mental development, she would have been killed along with the other seven. The other kids weren¡¯t Changelings, they are what Pack calls Whelps. Born of werewolves, as the modern world refers to us, but too young to be Changed. They are of varying ages and nationalities. The youngest, aside from Virginia, is Pearl at a whopping thirteen years of actual age. She is the youngest daughter of the council head and the man who holds my blood oath. Brown hair, brown eyes, an average height for a 13-year-old white girl, not pretty but not ugly the most average existence I''ve ever seen. May the gods be with this girl if puberty decides to be cruel. Richard is a raven-haired, blue-eyed, tall sixteen-year-old of Native American descent, and the only Whelp not from the council. Calvin is 15 and of African descent, though I don''t know where his father is from and have never met the man, his mother is the only member of the council that advocated for my life. So, I like him¡mostly.A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation. As I stare out at these six kids, all I can see is a stunned silence on their faces. ¡°I said are there any questions. Don¡¯t be shy, ask away I have nothing but time.¡± Pearl raises her hand. "Ah, our first volunteer. What is your question, Pearl?" She pauses with a look of terror on her face when I say her name. To alleviate her fears, cause despite my hatred for her father she seems like a decent kid. At least from her file. Which I raise in the air and state, ¡°I have a file on all of you. I know your names, birthdays, favorite foods, hell I even know your estrogen and testosterone levels. This is not a normal school. I know everything there is to know about you. Except for the Changelings, who for various reasons this institute couldn¡¯t small pieces of info. So, ask your question miss Pearl, and don¡¯t fear me. At least not while I¡¯m human.¡± She gulped. ¡°How old are you?¡± I tilt my head to the side and smile, ¡°That¡¯s not usually the first question, and knowing your father he¡¯s already told you.¡± ¡°He has, but I want to make sure he wasn¡¯t lying to me.¡± ¡°Very well Pearl, first I¡¯ll ask you. How old did he say I was?¡± ¡°1500 years old.¡± She said without a hint that she thought the number was too small. I could tell from the way she said it she firmly believed her father was overestimating my age. I was going to ruin this child day. I start laughing, ¡°Ha-ha, to think he¡¯d guess that low.¡± Even Paolo scoffs at the number. Virginia and Bell just giggle. ¡°As of last week, I celebrated my 4395th birthday, approximately. More than 1500 years ago time was told in an entirely different manner. There was B.C.E. or A.D. there was just one year after the next. So, while I am absolutely certain I¡¯m older than 1500 years. Seeing how I was at the battle of Thermopylae and saw the rise and fall of the Roman Empire. I¡¯m not entirely sure of my actual birth year. It¡¯s safe to assume I¡¯m not so young. ¡°You may be wondering class at the reaction of the other half of the room. I¡¯ll tell you this Paolo is 900 years old despite how young he looks. Bell is 700, and Virginia is 250. These are of course rough guesses, seeing as their exact dates of birth can no longer be determined. Except for maybe Virginia¡¯s if speculations prove to be accurate. ¡° Define Impossible ¡°Now, class you may be wondering how the council¡¯s information could possibly be so bad. Well, that¡¯s because they think I age. A Pureborn does not age. The only way for me to die is if someone kills me with steel or claw, or if I happen to be hit by a car or something along those lines." ¡°That¡¯s not possible,¡± Calvin scoffs. ¡°He turns into a wolf-man a full foot taller than what you see now on a whim, and the fact that he is essentially immortal is the part you scoff at?¡± Bell chuckled. ¡°He can¡¯t change on a whim. My father said it takes anywhere from twenty to thirty minutes just to complete a change without the full moon.¡± Pearl said. I nearly choked on my coffee when she said that. ¡°It takes your father that long to change. Odin help me. If I had known how far removed he was from the Prime, I never would have let him have the power he has. Child, it takes me around twenty seconds to complete a change, and needing the moon to ease the change means your even weaker. Paolo, how long does a transformation take you; should be around twenty-five seconds right?¡± "Around about, yes," Paolo growls. ¡°Calm your tits boy. The more removed you are from a Pureborn line the harder a change is, adding on to that you also don¡¯t have the added benefit of immortality. You do age. Take the three Changelings in the class, they are the children, so to speak, of a Pureborn. They should have a lifespan ration of about 1:500." I say as I write on the smart board. "Meaning for every five hundred years they live their cells will age by one. Paolo was changed at 18 give or take a year. Right now, his cellular structure puts him around 20. With your father being that weak he most like has a ratio of 1:25. Which is a good thing for me, it means he''ll die soon. He''s about 500 now. He was Changed at around 35. That puts his cellular age around 55. Daddy starting to grey is he."A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. ¡°My advice kids is if you want to live a ridiculously long time if your parents or Donors aren¡¯t able to make the change in under a minute find someone else.¡± ¡°What about you? Why don¡¯t we just have you change us?¡± Richard asked. ¡°You may petition to have me as your donor, but I will warn you it guarantees you a position in the Justicars.¡± They all gasped. Followed by the easily identified denial of the existence of the assassin branch of Pack members. I had just pointed out to them that their parents were little more than human and their leaders were weak, but having a group of assassins be the law of the Pack. That was where they drew the line of incredulity. You would think when dealing with someone who is obviously older than you think they are, you would maybe give them the benefit of the doubt, but nooo. I¡¯m obviously lying now. So I decided to make a demonstration. Which sucked because I liked that suit. So I changed fully into my 7¡¯8¡± warform. I was angry so it only took me 5 seconds. ¡°SHUT IT.¡± I roared at a volume that would terrify a lion. They all stared in abject fear (I love that reaction) as I towered over them. Black fur and piercing white blue eyes stared out at them. Most didn¡¯t notice the black armor with the depiction of Justicia. ¡°Now, if you are done telling me I don¡¯t know what I¡¯m talking about when it comes to the policing force I formed nearly two thousand years ago. I will discuss history at a later date. Right now we will continue our lesson on bloodlines.¡±
