 A Strange New World

    On the Year of 2XXX, the country of Terra disappeared from the faces of the Earth. No one knows where they went. They just dissapeared in one night. And it''s not just the entire population that is missing¡ªbut the entire country, the entire island¡ªhas gone missing.


    Only those living in Terra knows what happened. They were transported to an entirely different world. A place where magic exist. Where elves, dwarves, and even dragons exist and not just a bedtime stories told to children.


    Of course, people in Terra still continued with their normal activities as usual. But the goverment are busy trying to find out if they''re alone in this world. Are there any humans in here? Are they friendly? If so, can we talk to them?

    Somewhere, in the territory of Gandum Kingdom.


    A wyvern knight are seen riding his wyvern in the air. He wore nothing but a leather armor and a chainmail. Though looking lightly armored, the armor itself are made by the best quality material and forged by the best blacksmith. Though, not comparable to those worn by elite trooper or such, they still possessed a decent amount of protection to the wearer.


    He was a member of a patrol team that patrolled the air. Because the Gandum Kingdom is in a hostile relationship with the neighbouring kingdom¡ªMysar Kingdom. They increased the amount of patrol in the air, sea, and land.


    Suddenly, he heard a strange noise from a far. He squinted his eyes when he saw a strange object flying towards him. What is that? Is that a wyvern, or a dragon? He does not know. One thing for sure, that thing is flying, though he doesn''t know how because it doesn''t flapped it''s wing like a bird or a wyvern.


    When that thing came close, he already became aware of it. That thing is fast and seems to be made by some kind of iron. The strange flying thing flew past him. He tried to give chase but the speed of his wyvern simply couldn''t catch up with the strange flying thing.The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.


    Without thinking much further, he reported this to his higher ups using the Mana Communication Device.

    The officer on the otherside of the communication device couldn''t believe what she was hearing.


    A creature that flies so fast¡ªit surpassed a wyvern? How could it be!? That''s impossible! If there''s a creature such as that, they would''ve known long ago. Now, the world would know it by now! Even perhaps the Empire will already use it as their mount!


    The officer gritted her teeth and stormed out of her room. Walking fast trying to find their commander as fast as she could.


    But suddenly, she hears a loud noises up in the sky. Everyone around her looked up. Everyone in the city of Gandum looked up. There, they saw way up in the sky, a strange thing¡ªcreature¡ªare flying in circles. As if observing the city. Like a hunter observing it''s prey.


    "Wha¡ªwhat is that!?"


    "It''s a monster! We''re doomed!"


    "Guards! Aim for that creature! Shoot it down!"


    Even though the archery unit already aimed. They knew it was impossible shooting something that high from the ground. It was too far that their arrows can''t hit it.


    Some started to kneel down, praying to whatever gods they believed in for salvation. Some of the guards even started praying too. Though they do it inside their hearts, while their hands still holding tight to their weapons.


    After a short while. Nothing happened. No attack was ever commenced by the strange creature in the sky. It simply flies in circle before heading towards the south. Where only ocean with violent waves exist.


    People that are kneeling stood up one by one. Fear still could be seen clearly in their faces. But soon enough, they resumed their activities again, hoping to forget what just happened.


    The female officer still standing in her spot. Sweat trickling down her forehead. Something that fast and big. How could they take it down if that creature or whatever it is tried to attack? It''s simply impossible just to dream of approaching it. Not only that, just looking at the speed of it''s flying. That thing already arrived in the city just as she received the report from patrol team.


    Is this truly the end of Gandum Kingdom?

 First Contact

    It was the dawn of the second day after the strange iron beast appeared in the city of Gandum. All kinds of rumors started to circulate in the kingdom. Question like is the iron beast a messenger of god? Or is it a harbinger of doom? Priest started appearing at the street too. Preaching about the strange iron beast is a messenger of god that came to deliver a message. Many people believed¡ªmany don''t¡ªsome even still continued living their lives like nothing unusual happened.


    But, something different happened in the south seas. Where the strange iron beast has dissapeared to. A galleon are seen traveling the south seas. Though knowing the danger in sailing the south seas, these people have nothing to be feared of, they''re the Gandum Kingdom navy forces. The most experienced sailor they have. Brave enough to sail through the south seas.


    The captain leading the ship are called Barney Mclinder. He was a brave man, there was nothing that could fear him, not even the big wave of the south seas. Let alone the navy forces of Mysar Kingdom. Though if the naval forces of Gandum Kingdom and Mysar Kingdom are to fought head-on, the Gandum Kingdom are sure to lose, but Barney do not care. He will still fight and bring his enemy down with him.


    But what he faced now¡ªis something beyond his comprehension. A ship that is bigger than even a galleon. The ship also looked like it was completely made of steel. His ship looked like an ant in front of this ironship.


    Is this the same as the rumored strange iron beast that''s flying in the air two days before? Barney is not sure. So he commanded his crew to get closer to the ship. How can this ship even move without a sail? His head hurts just thinking about it. What he need to think now is how he should deal with whatever he is going to deal with. He just hoped that whoever owned this ship does not have a hostile intention.


    "Hello!" Barney shouted. But no one answered, did nobody hear him?


    He waited for awhile. But he still didn''t get an answer. So he ordered his crew to setup a grappling gun. But before he could do it, he saw a figure standing on top the ship¡ªwaving his hand to him¡ªcoming down with a platform that is slowly descending towards his ship. The figure on top of the platform beckoned him to come over. Which he readily complied.


    When Barney finally got on top to the ship, he was met by a vast deck. Vast enough that it can be used as an jousting arena. So far, he don''t see a single thing that is made by wood.     "Welcome aboard, my name is Furanth Ardelinth. An ambassador from the Country of Terra, pleased to meet you." A man in fancy suit introduced himself. He offered his hand for a handshake. Barney grabbed his hand and performed a handshake.


    "My name is Barney Mclinder, a captain of the Coriander ship of the Gandum Kingdom. I''m here to investigate about a strange flying iron beast that headed to the south sea. Is there a relationship between that iron flying beast and you people?"


    Furanth scratched his head awkwardly. But he can''t keep a secret from Barney. He was here to make allies, not enemies. So it is better to tell Barney everything that he should know.


    "Yes, it was an aircraft sent by us to scout the land around us. To be honest, we are also surprised to find a kingdom not so far from our country. We are terribly sorry by the inconvenience caused by our aircraft two days prior. It was also an unexpected territorial intrusion, we are truly sorry for that."

Our country was transported to this world just two days ago. Our government is trying it''s best to find out where are we right now. We has also send aircraft to another places and discovered other kingdoms as well. But Gandum Kingdom is the first we ever get to contact with."


    Barney became surprised after hearing what Furanth had said. Country of Terra already sent the strange thing¡ªaircraft¡ªto different kingdoms already? How fast are those aircraft? He realised now that the Country of Terra are dangerous. Perhaps more dangerous than the Myra Kingdom or even the Three Main Territories. Just by that aircraft alone, they can already scout places far ahead in short time. What else does the Country of Terra have at it''s disposal?


    "It may be a little bit of a hassle, mister Barney. But could you help us to meet the leader of your kingdom? We would like to apologize directly to your leader if possible."


    Barney could only comply. The Council should want to meet this Country of Terra. Barney do not want something bad happen between Country of Terra and Kingdom of Gandum. Something like war is not something that Kingdom of Gandum could afford. Because overall, they''re not a strong country, not even stronger than the Myra Kingdom. Waging war with a foreign country that have an advanced technologies is just suicide. Nobody want that, not even him that was known as the most fearless captain in Gandum Kingdom Navy.


    "If that is your wish, then I should comply."


    And so, the first meeting between Country of Terra and Kingdom of Gandum, began.

 The Negotiation

    Two days after Barney Mclinder returned from the southern seas. Many people still talked about the event that''s happened a couple days before. But the news that Barney Mclinder met a mysterious ship made completely out of steel surprised them even further. If it was the old times, people will just laugh at him and tell him that he''s a crazy man. But after the strange iron beast that flew over Haebel--Kingdom of Gandum capital city--a couple days ago, they believed his stories and didn''t doubt anything about it.


    While Barney are busy making report about discovery. His crew told stories about how big the ship is. Like how wide and big the deck is that it can be used to held a jousting match. The ship itself is not even used for battle. But to be used as a carrier for the strange iron beast called aircraft, meanwhile the ship itself is called an aircraft carrier. From that on people began wondering various things.


    If a ship bigger than a galleon are only used for transport--how big is their battleship?


    Many people shudder just thinking about it. Something that big and advanced just for transport. If it was fitted for battle. It would probably fit many people and wyvern. An ideal ship for attacking settlement on the shore. Even the Empire doesn''t have something that big.


    While people are still busy talking about the massive iron ship. The Council are busy talking about how they should approach the Country of Terra. Waging a war againts Terra is obviously not a good idea. They''re not a powerful country like Mysar Kingdom or The Empire. The amount of Wyvern Riders that they have are also less than what the Mysar Kingdom had. And coupled with how fast those aircraft flew and how high it can flies, they doubt that the Wyvern Riders could take those aircraft head-on.


    "So? What do you think?" Said Ailas Elatris, one of the member of The Council of Kingdom of Gandum. She was a female elves.


    The Council are comprised of five people. Two elves and three human. Ailas are the only women in The Council. And coincidentally, also the leader of The Council.


    "Well, we clearly must think about this carefully. The Country of Terra doesn''t show any hostile intention. Although it is still not proven if their friendliness is real, we should at least trust them, but still keep our guard high." Answered one of the Council. He was stroking his beard while reading a report brought in by his subordinate.


    "This Country of Terra is a completely new. There''s never been any record about it in our old journal. We must not provoke them!"


    "But what do they want from us? Is it land? Or is it perhaps this very kingdom? We don''t know that, that''s why we must be careful."


    While everyone are busy talking about what should they do to the Country of Terra. Ailas are contemplating about how dangerous the Country of Terra is.


    Everyone knew just by one look that the Country of Terra are a dangerous mysterious power. Their technology are something never before seen on this land. Ailas are sure that even the Three Main Territories doesn''t have technologies that advanced. Dwarves might have, but not on the scale that they can make a ship completely out of metal. Though they tried, but it resulted with the ship shinking, so how could the people from the Country of Terra did it?


    Is it perhaps magic? No, there''s no magic strong enough to lift a ship that big. She also remembered that Barney mentioned that the ship is moving by something called an oil. As to how it moves, he said that the ship has somekind of a windmill under it, except smaller and moves faster. Thinking about it, it was rather a smart invention, that means the ship can still moves even if there''s no wind on the seas. That alone can prove the ocean superiority of the Country of Terra. And don''t even start talking about the aircraft.


    Ailas sighed, she realised just now that all of the other Council members are staring at her. As a leader, she must stay composed, she must not fear about the emergence of a new country. Well, perhaps she should have, but she should still be positive about it, right?


    Before she could open her mouth again, someone knocked on the door. After telling whoever it is that knocked on the door that they could come in. Two soldiers clad in iron armor walked in followed by five people in strange clothing. By the looks of it, this must be the ambassadors of the Country of Terra.


    "Greetings, my name is Furanth Ardelinth, a diplomat of the Country of Terra. I''m here to apologies to Kingdom of Gandum about the intrusion of our aircraft a few days ago." The man named Furanth introduced himself and offered his right hand for a handshake. In which Ailas shake his hand.This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road.     "Greetings, my name is Ailas Elatris, the leader of The Council of the Kingdom of Gandum. As for your apologies, we accepted it." Said Ailas. She doesn''t really mind about the aircraft that intruded their airspace. Even if she mind it, she doesn''t have any means to stop it.


    "This might be sudden... But may I inquire about the purpose the Country of Terra in this visit?"


    "Ah yes, before that, we want you to read this document."


    One of the Terra diplomat opened a suitcase and started to distribute the document to The Council members. All of them frowned when they see the document handed to them.


    "I am sorry, but I couldn''t understand anything that is said here..."


    "What?! That... Is a surprise, we thought you could read it because you talked in English language. Which reminds me, we also couldn''t read anything at the city signs at all. But how could you talk in English?"


    "No, from our point of view, you''re talking in our language."


    Furanth and Ailan stared at each other. Shock can be seen in their eyes at this discovery.


    "Ehem, it might be true. For this strange phenomenon to occure... Then, let me explain the document orally. We come from a country called Terra that is located 1000 km south from this kingdom.... Do you understand the measurement unit?"


    "Of course, but please wait. There''s only ocean in the south, while it is true that there''s a couple of island and some of them have a village in it. Could it be that the villages gathered and build a country?"


    "Err... No, but our country is a land with total area of 9,147,590 km square, so I don''t think it can be called as an island..."


    All of The Council members are surprised with how big the Country of Terra is. Even the continent they resided in--Molias--is not that big. All of them can only be dumbfounded with what they just heard.


    "Though this is difficult to explain, but we came from a place called Earth and somehow transferred to this world one way or another. The cause of this transferrence is unknown."


    Ailas then took the opportunity to talk again.


    "Certainly, we have received that kind of report a long time ago. But, to move a country... just how much mana is needed is beyond my imagination. I''m sorry but rather taking your story as a fairy tale, I rather take it as a fake news."


    "It''s natural if you think it like that. If the same stuff happened on my side too, we wouldn''t believe it without any solid prove. Perhaps, if on Earth, there are people saying ''our country has been transferred 1000 km from this place'', we wouldn''t believe them too. Maybe, to make both of our country acquainted with each other better. How about if your country dispatched a diplomatic mission to our country? If they reported from direct observation, then maybe you could believe it, wouldn''t you agree?"


    It''s natural for Ailas to not trust what Furanth said. Even if The Council are public official, they''re still a citizen of this kingdom. If somethin happened to them when they''re in a foreign country. Then it would be clear who to be blamed by the masses.


    "Council Leader."


    Unable to wait Ailas any longer, one of The Council members--Josiah--opened his mouth again so Ailas could reply faster.


    "I understand the Council Leader''s worry. However, they actually flew their flying unit atop Haebel and visited using a large sized ship. Even if the island in the south formed a country, they shouldn''t be able to build a ship that big. They possessed abilities that we don''t have, but they proposed for us to send a diplomatic mission and see it with our own eyes. Above all, they understand propriety. Depending on the condition, it would be beneficial for us to maintain a diplomatic relation, don''t you agree?"


    Josiah then faced toward the diplomat from Terra and continued.


    "Gentleman from Terra, what do you desire by initiating this diplomatic mission? Surely, it wasn''t for sightseeing?"


    "The foremost is food. Then, natural resource. Furthermore, we completely don''t know a single thing about this world. If we can, we want to acquire as much information as possible."


    "Haha! So it''s food!"


    "Yes, we would like you to provide food as much possible. The food requirement of our country is very high. Of course, we don''t think your country would be able to manage it alone, so we will also perform food procurement negotiation with other countries."
