《Mana of Heaven》


 Prologue

    At the center of a huge magical circle with red light, there is a boy with youthful face standing on top of it. This was a magic circle for random teleportation magic, that is to say, the boy will be teleported soonly.


    Somewhat around a corner of the room, outside of the magical circle, a very beautiful woman who looks around the age of 20s asked the question.


    "Are you ready?"


    "Sure" the boy delivered a reply with a loud tone, but behind that, there was a bit of sad look on his face.


    "Stop making that face, I can''t be beside you forever you know...?" After a brief of silence, the woman continues to speak "There''s something I need to do, and it''ll be dangerous as for you right now..."


    "But if it''s with you magisa, I certainly don''t mind even if I died..." He''s not joking, if it''s for the woman in front of him he is certainly wouldn''t mind to throwing out of his life, no, he even gladly to do so. The air becomes tense all of sudden.


    The woman who''s called Magisa then replied.


    "Sigh... You know Abel, you shouldn''t treat your life so lightly like that, how many times I already tell you this? besides that, are you not excited? there are tons of beautiful girls other than me outsides here and you might be able to get some of them"


    A tower is a place that this room belongs, was a place Abel has spent all of his life inside of it, he never goes outside at all and only hearing about it from Magisa or read it in the books.

    "Ara? Did I ever say something like that? Fufu" Magisa makes an exciting smile. She really can''t resist teasing the boy in front of her. Just like a joke, the tension from before had gone as if it never happened.

    "...huh? Are you... serious now? Then what''s the point of my training up until now!" Feeling depressed, Abel said it like the world about to be destroyed.


    "You said it like me becoming your bride is the only reason you learned magic... " Magisa said with half-closed eyes " I got it already... How about we prolong my promise a bit of moment, since you have yet mastered everything anyway."


    "That''s unfair you know, it''s because you gonna disappeared on who-know-where now, that I''m unable to finish my training in the first place!"


    "Like I said I''m sorry, it can''t be helped right, if I don''t go you might not know what''ll happen with this world you know."


    "Between me and the world which is more important?"


    "Uwaah, you said something like an annoying housewife right now, where do you learn that anyway?" Magisa makes a somewhat annoyed face.

    By ''Nee-san'', he was referring to his senpai he was growing up with, learning magic together, there is another one which he called ''Aniki''. He treated them just like a family. Both of them was already teleported before this. They along with Abel was the same disciples under the same master with Magisa as their master. In this tower, it''s impossible to get out of here without the master permission. That makes Magisa, the tower master, will be the last ones to come outsides.


    "What do you mean by admittedly saying you gross? Anyway, this doesn''t mean you can''t see me anymore you know? I''ll be back after I take care of my business, and see how are you doing, if I see you neglecting your life, then you should know what will happens right?"

    "Then it''s good" not bothered by what Abel said Magisa put on a satisfied smile. She then stretched her hand toward the magic circle and begin pouring magic into it.


    It''s almost time they about to be parted. A silence surrounding the room.


    Shortly after, the blue light began to illuminate the magic circle.


    "Then... Until we meet again" after Magisa said those words, Abel then disappeared along with the light, making the magic circle becomes dim.

    Now then, I guess it''s time for me to move out as well.


    without any sign, Magisa began teleported herself, leaving the empty tower behind with no soul.

 Chapter 1

    Within the maze of forest, There is Abel who walking inside of it, the robe he wearing is covered in mud. Looked irritated he cleaned his robe by rubbing it out with his left arm, it was a white robe with a plus red sign around the chest. The robe was something that given by his master Magisa, it''s so precious to him, so he doesn''t want to make the dirt became permanent. As he passing by he''s using his right hand to get rid of branches and leaves that block out of his way.


    "As I thought, random teleportation wasn''t a good idea after all"


    It was already three days since he was being teleported, and yet Abel hasn''t meet single living person besides himself. The place Abel teleported was large space of forest, no, it''s probably more accurate to call it jungle despite how thick this place is. As proof of that, the grounds were full of young trees and vines making it hard to step on it, it''s always making a rustling sound as he passes through it. Looking at the top, it was fully covered with leaves coming from the big tree branches which make the sunlight barely reached the ground.


    The reason he was randomly teleported was because of Magisa suggestion. When he asked why, Magisa answered with ''Don''t you think it feels more adventurous that way?''. Ignoring the logic Abel decided to agree with his master. It surely possible for him to teleport near the city, or a village using fixed teleportation magic.


    "Did Magisa playing on me again? What the heck do you mean felt adventurous? There''s nothing besides troubles so far. And what do you mean I''ll meet some beautiful girls? All I see is only trees and monsters!"


    Just like a madman, Abel can''t stop the urges to letting out his complaint. He usually was not the type person who speaking out his thought like that when no one around. However, being alone for three days with no one to talk to, he was slightly hoping that someone can hear and respond to him.


    "This is bad, isn''t? What if... Just what if this world was different from what I''d know? There couldn''t be any human beings beside myself. If I know it would be like this I''d rather stayed inside tower."


    At this point, he can only think negatively. And then instead of someone, what answered him was different from what he expects for.


    "Hm?"


    A few meters ahead of him, there''s something that caught up his eyes.


    "Grrrrr...!"


    A monster with roughly one meter height growled at him, ready to charge anytime. It was monster called Hare Wolf, just like its name, having an appearance of a wolf with very long ears that pointed downward. It has white fur covering its body expect area around its neck which colored in red. There are five of them.     "C''mon, how many times is this?"


    It''s not surprising that he feeling annoyed, it was not the first time this was happening to him. It was too much that it makes him started to lost count. as the passing days, he was brimming with an absurd change of mood. After one day he came here, everything becomes so dull for him, it''s not like this was something new to him, the monster, tree and other things, even in the tower where he comes from, there''s also a lot of monsters inside it, not just that, even something like the sky and trees also does exist. It was something that only can be done with magic, it''s proof that his master was not an ordinary magic user, since she''s the one who built it.


    However this time, the monster''s different from he has seen so far. There is the thing called monster territory. As the territory changed, the monster that resides inside of it will also change. The fact something like that happened, meaning that Abel has already moved along to a certain direction. Knowing that, Abel keeps walking forward as if the monsters didn''t exist.


    Looking their prey walked toward then without a care, the monster which happens positioned in the front, closest to Abel, makes a long jump toward him. The other monster in the back also running followed behinds. With huge ''roar'' sound, it opened its mouth so wide, making its sharp fangs can be seen, until-

    The monsters were frozen like a statue.


    From the tail to the head, a layer of ices is covering the monster''s body. There was no sounds nor moves coming from it. After one-two second, the monster that jumped, with its momentum, failing to the ground making a ''srk-srk'' sounds after crashed with the bush surrounding it.


    It''s dead.


    Anyone with normal thinking can immediately understand just by looking at it.


    But, that''s not the case here. What Abel did was just make them unable to moves, when the time comes, the ices will melting and freeing them from the binding.


    The reason he''s not killing them was not that he felt guilty after killed so many monsters in the last three days, it''s not also he''s scared to shedding blood. The reason it''s more simple than that. It''s because he loves a dog. That''s all. And combined with the fact that the monsters had the same color pattern as his robe. He thought that it would be a waste to kill it.


    Ignoring the unbelievable sight in front of him, Abel continues to walking straight looking for the town.


    "Please, just let me spot a town already."


    Leaving the monster behind him. Abel decided to check the tallest tree he can find. After he founds what he looking for, Abel makes a very high jump to its direction, he jumps from branch to branch until he arrived at the top. It took him only 10 seconds to do this. Standing on the highest branch that strong enough to support his weight, he then used his [Fly] magic to floating slowly to the sky.


    ''H, he''s flying!'' if there''s anyone nearby, that probably would be the reaction that comes out from them.


    "Here we go."


    Floating in the air, his jet black hair now is being swayed by the wind along with his ponytail. Pulling up the long bangs that become messy and disturbed his eyesight, Abel used another magic.


    [Strengthening]


    Strengthening is magic that allowed the user to enhances part of the body psychically. For example, if it''s used on ears, it can sharpen its hearing further, and if it''s used in legs it will multiply the power that comes out from it, this was something that Abel did before to make a jump on trees. Focusing his spell on his eyes, Abel begins to look for a town or village.


    "T, there is it!"


    Approximately 25 km from where he''s floating. There''s indeed a town. It looked small when seeing it from this distance.


    Dispelling his magic, Abel descended into the ground in rush. Now that he found what he looking for, He can''t waste times anymore, Abel then excitedly perdures his adventure.

 Chapter 2

    In an open area of forest, there are three men and one girl. The men wearing iron-plated armor colored in grey, there''s nothing that corresponding them beside the armors, blonde hair and the sword that hanging from their waist. As the girl, she wears an empire waist dress, that has a blue color, has a pretty face, that could be mistaken for a doll, a pink lip that looks covered in lipstick, and slender body which make her looks perfect in every aspect.


    The men were grouping the girl, cornering her between a big rock behind her. The girl has despair looks on his face, but even so, that didn''t make her face look ugly in the slightest.


    "Stop resisting!" one of the men says with the ringing tone. He has a pencil mustaches on his face, and that makes him the most old-looking among the three.


    "Someone, help!" as the men closening the distance between them. The girl makes a very loud scream.


    "...!" all of the men can''t help for feeling surprised by her shout.


    This place is located far away from the town. Even though the girl shouted so loud, there''s no way that it will reach anyone.


    "It''s useless, there''s no way anyone will come here"


    Taking a cautious step, The men proceeded to approach the girl. Their armor makes noisy noise within every step.


    "N, no! Don''t come any closer!"


    As the distance between them shrank, the girl''s scream grows louder.


    It was then- that someone interrupted them.


    "Um... I think you guys should stop."


    The sounds neither came from the men nor the girl. It was a young combined with panting voice, it was like someone who had just done 25km marathon run. Looking at the source of voice they all see a single boy standing on a big rock while looking down at them. Because of the sun''s shadow they can''t see his face very well.


    The boy jumped from the rock, he''s now standing between them, facing off the men and revealing his figure.


    The most suited words that could describe him probably would be ''beggar''. He wore black shoes and pants and a white robe that has a red plus sign on his chest, while the robe itself seems to be made from a nice piece of fabric, with the dirt that lying around all place, it makes it look like something that being picked from the grounds. He has a long jet black hair that''s a bit ruffled warped in a ponytail at the back, over his head, there are some leaves which stuck on his hair. Despite having a nice face, his messy bangs that falling off on his face just make it looks pale in comparison. If It was not for the situation they are in, the men might think that the boy would say ''can you spare any change?'' at any moment. The sight was too unbelievable for them to react immediately. Sadly, it was our hero, Abel.


    "I don''t know kind of country this is... But, I don''t even think that rape is allowed here you know?" Tilting his head slightly, Abel glared at the men. It was not intimidating glare, it''s more like filled with pity.


    Why he was here you say? Let''s look what''s happening for a bit before he got here. It was around an hour ago after Abel found a town, he immediately rushed here running, flying and jumping, ignoring everything on his sight.     There''s no need to answer his question. Thinking so, Abel ignored the men and facing the girl "is that true?" From behind him, He can hear a shout ''don''t just ignored me!'' coming from the man.


    "...No, that''s not true! They were just trying to pin me down just now!" it took a moment before the girl answered, it was though she trying to calculate something first before answered.


    "H, hold on, what do you mean pinned you down!? We barely touched you at all, stop lying!" The cross cheeked men refuted.


    "Hmm..." Looking between the two, Abel pondered a little. Listening to their conversation, it was enough to someone could possibly understand what''s happening here. However to him, it really doesn''t matter. Between the rough men and the cute girl desperately looking for aid, there''s no need to thinking through this. The answer is clear.


    "I just need to help you escape, right?" gazed at the girl, Abel said with assured tone. Because of the high difference in them, he lowered his head a little when stared at her.


    "Eh" looked back with her alluring blue eyes, the girl yelped softly, it seems she was not expecting that the boy would agree to help her.


    ''it''s alright now'' just for a second, the girl thought she could hear those lines from him.


    It was that moment, the man who have been quiet all this time, begin to noticed something, he had a feeling that the boy in front of him will do something. Gripping at the hilt of his sword, the man trying to trust his intuition, this was to prepare if the boy started to do something foolish.

    "Excuse me for a bit" amidst the mist, Abel who has the most composure among all, without waiting for a reply, started to lift the girl with a princess carry.


    "A, eh..." The girl who still shocked at what''s happening can only mutter a word that doesn''t have meaning.


    "Dammit!" like a madman, the mustache man swinging his sword blindly to remove the smokes that illuminated his surrounding. Even so, the smokes just keep regenerating without end.


    The cross cheeked man and the hoarse-voiced man stayed still as they raised their sword for a guard, this was just in case if the boy suddenly launched an attack at them. Even they decided to charge toward the boy, the smokes were thick enough to disturb their views, there''s also a chance that the boy planted some trap on the ground without them knowing, confirmed this was the safest course of action, they resolved to stand still, waiting for the fogs to disappear.


    It takes a while before the smoke dissipate. After their visions returned, they immediately began to observe the sight that encircling them. The first thing that they recognize was the boy and the girl has gone.


    "They''re escaped huh." The mustache man said as he sheathed his sword.


    While the rest tried to mimic him- "But who''s that guy anyway? He did use ''short chant'' just now, wasn''t he?" The cross cheeked man threw a question.


    Short chant was one of four ways to activate magic. By shouted the name of the magic spell and pouring out mana, It will trigger the magic spell.


    Next is long chant, which only can be activated by fully saying the incantation of magic, it took the longest time to chant magic with it, depending on the spell, it can even take more 10 minutes for just chanted the incantation. Granted, most of the magic user used this type of chant.


    There''s also a magic circle, which can be activated by drawing a magical circle, it can be drawn physically or even spiritually using mana. There certain magic that only could be done with a magic circle, one example of that would be random teleportation magic. Even though it can be used by anyone as long they have enough mana, It''s very rare for someone to uses this with how complicated a magic circle can be, even the simplest mistake can get the magic to be jammed.


    The last and the rarest one would be chantless, by controlling the flow of mana inside the body, it certainly possible to use magic without chanting, and that''s making It the most advantageous among all. Without chanting, they are no way of knowing what kind of spell that the user would use. However, even if someone capable to use this, that doesn''t mean it can be used for any spell, they need to go throughout full training for each spell in order to do it.


    Within of all magic user, there are only 10% that can use short chant whereas chantless are only 1% in total. That''s mean even being a short chant itself was quite an accomplishment.


    "You''re right, he must not be an ordinary person then"


    "More importantly, are we sure we can just standing here? Don''t you think captain will get angry at us, since we let the girl escapes?" The hoarse-voiced man inquired with a suggestive tone.


    They had given the order to bring back the girl who was running away from home without hurting her. Apparently, the girl seems to come from royalty or some sort. It supposed to be an easy task, if not for that boy who helped the girl escape.


    "Kuh..! That would be suck, I can imagine Captain will hit us if he knows that we let the girl escapes." The cross cheeked man began to rub his stomach with a pained expression. "Tch! This is your fault for talking nonsense since the beginning! If not, there''s no way those two would run!" He then suddenly glared at mustache man.


    "Are you blaming me now!? The reason they''d run was probably because you have a shitty face! Stop suspect other!"


    "Can you guys be quiet? I think it''s too late for talking about that now" scratching behind his ears, the hoarse-voiced man started to comes out with an idea "Can we just tell him, that she''s being taken by a strong magic user? Then I''m sure Captain will not punish us"


    "..." Glanced at each other, the mustache man and the cross cheeked man hesitantly consider at their friend suggestion.


    "L, let''s do that, it''s not like we''re lying or anything, right?"


    "Y, yeah, let''s do so"


    Agreeing with themselves, the men determined to come back to the town.

    Carrying the girl in his arms, Abel has been running away from the men. His left arm placed between her back of knee while the other supported her back. Slipping his hand into her armpit, he can feel a soft sensation at the tip of his fingers. This whole time, he could not help himself for making a small grin, not because he can barely touch the girl''s chest, it was for another reason. Since coming outsides, he thought he was running out of luck when being teleported in the middle of a forest far away from the town. But now everything seems going well.


    Looked below, he can clearly see the girl he saved before. Her pretty face looked up forward the roads they passing while her dark blue hair gracefully flowed over her right shoulder. Because of that, he doesn''t really know what kind of expression she''s making. Suddenly, he was reminded of the books he ever read. It was books full of cliches, about a girl who gets saved by a guy from bad men and began to fell in love with him. To think something like this happened to him.


    Well, a cliche is not bad at all, rather, I like it more this way!


    After a short wait, he can hear the plea coming beneath him "C, can you put me down right now?" There, he saw the girl making a worried expression as she stared at him.


    Confirmed that the distance was safe from the armored men, Abel does as he told.


    Looking her staring at him intently, Abel curiously asked: "What''s the problem?"


    What she gonna do? Is she trying to thank me or something? Well, she might as well start to give me a kiss or tried to use her body to repay me maybe.


    As he drowned in his own thought, the words that come from her was:


    "YOU STINK!"

    "Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you? You smelled so bad uughg" pinched her nose, the girl wrinkled her eyebrows in displeasure.


    Being told so, Abel pulled up the collar of his robe with both hands and lowered his head in order to smell it. It''s smell bad indeed. It''s not that he doesn''t take a bath, with magic he can easily create water and washed his body with ease, but what about his clothes? While he can wash it, he doesn''t necessarily have the time to dry it, since he was hastily searching for the town, that''s leaving the clothes became damp and filled with a sweaty musty smell. But still, he can''t accept it.


    "Well, I admit that my robe smells bad, but don''t you think that it''s rude to say that to someones who helped you?"


    Faced with aggravated Abel, the girl crossed her arms in a majestic way "Hah, what are you talking about? Is that normal to help someone in need? Are you saying you''re hoping to get something in return? Or what, you''re not imagining I''m gonna use my body to repay you, are you?" at the end, she didn''t forget to add some half-joking words.


    "H, how did you know!?"


    "Y, you were thinking that all along?! P, pervert! D, don''t get close to me!" the girl taking a step back in disgust.


    Oh, crap! I dig my own grave, didn''t I?


    "A, anyway! I don''t have time for this, sorry but, I gotta go now"


    "Wait! Can you at least tell me your name!?" Extending his hand, Abel raised his voice as the girl about to move away.


    "Why are..." ''Why are you asking that?'' Is what she gonna says, but when she thinks about it, she hasn''t thanked the boy yet. Even though the boy in front of her was the worse kind of pervert in the world, it would be still very rude for just leaving him like that. it should be fine at least to telling him a name, so she thought. "En... I, it''s Ameli" stumble upon her words, she adverted his eyes as she continues to speak.


    Why this girl always stuttering whenever she talks?


    "Now we''re even, right"


    Even what!? He doesn''t really remember getting anything from her besides rudeness and name. However he refused to says that, he thought it would pointless to continue this conversation any further. Saying that, Ameli take off to the forest, leaving the respond less Abel.


    What.. the heck was that...?


    He could not help for feeling disappointed. He''s not expecting anything actually, he was just imagining it! Even so, this treatment was beyond his expectation. Watched in loneliness, he saw Ameli runs away hurriedly distancing herself. Gazing firmly at the sky, he takes a long sigh, making a little commitment, he decided to let it go instead. The town he''s been waiting for was not far away, there''s no reason for getting worked up over this.


    "Kyaahh-!!"


    As soon he taking a small step, he can hear a very loud scream coming from Ameli way.
