《God of Evolution》 Chapter 1: New world, New life Darkness was at the beginning and end of all life, it lay in the background unseen and unfeeling. To some a driving force, to others an ancient evil but right now it was simply the only thing that could be seen. The blanket of thick blackness seemed to be twisting and turning and slowly becoming a putrid mass of dark light. The foul and disgusting black parts faded and what rested in the middle of the dark cocoon was a baby with heavy eyes that blinked once or twice before slamming shut. It''s skin was pale as snow and had eyes of scarlet roses accompanied with small strands of deathly black hair. The void slowly vanished as the child levitated down into a crimson pit of blood, the baby was situated in a tomb of sorts, souls that had wandered for a millennia permeated the air whilst bones and dust settled on the floor. The blood was dazzling as though it was harvested from a mythical being with it still slowly moving as if it was a lake in the spring. With each ripple light would shine and create this gruesome scene more desirable. The baby had yet to truly awake from what could have been an endless slumber, it simply rested in the blood, feeling at home in the warmth of the currents. The blood was no taller than 1 inch making it a perfect depth for this child to sleep in. Time seemed to pass at an incredibly slow speed with no possible way of telling when it was day or night. However what was an instant to the infant was 6 years to the outside world and on the first day of the sixth year since the child had arrived, the crimson pit started to condense. The blood coagulated inside the now six year old child and disappeared without a trace, all light was now almost extinct returning to the dark void that existed before. Scarlet red eyes suddenly opened making the endless void disappear, the eyes themselves glowed eradicating the infinite blackness surrounding them. In the centre of the now barren room stood a small six year old boy, lost and unaware of his surroundings. ''What is going on.'' The boy started to think, something odd considering the child should technically have the mind of a first born. Looking around the boy observed the bleak environment he found himself in, then looking at his lack of attire and small stature. ''I am Lucius Chevalier Valroyeaux, Heavenly Death Lord and Master of the Sword. I achieved Heavenly Star Realm at the age of 22 and was a legend across the World of Pavarion. Yet here I stand as a young child with no skills nor martial power. A young genius one step away from Divine God Realm turned into a brat, how has this happened.'' The boy was physically a six year old but mentally Lucius, a genius martial Cultivator who was a soon to be a god. ''I remember challenging a Divine God Realm expert so I could absorb their Divine flame and reach the next realm, I had ripped the divine flame from the experts body but before I could devour it I was enveloped in pure darkness and now I''m here. For someone like me who was seconds away from attaining god hood to become a child really is a sick joke.'' ''Well no use dwelling on it I need to get out of this tomb as soon as possible.'' Lucius walked over to a pile of bones that had a cloak, rags and loincloth sprawled across them, picking it up Lucius wrapped the cloth around his waist and put the cloak over his shoulders. [Necron Cloak Equipped] [Ragged Shirt Equipped] [Loincloth Equipped] Lucius jumped in surprise at the sudden appearance of a screen in front of his eyes, with its disappearance Lucius became curious as to what he just witnessed. Calling out for it to reappear hoping it was something he had control of and with the word open, it did. What lay before his eyes was a large screen that had a list of several categories, each making Lucius even more confused than the last. [Name - Lucius Age: 6 Level: 1 Stats: Vitality- 20/20 Endurance- 20/20 Strength- 25 Dexterity- 25 Spirit- 10 Spirit Power- 100/100 Evolution: Fledgling Bloodeater - A human that has begun their transformation into something monstrous, only through blood can one evolve further. Skills: Unique: Divine Flame(Dormant) - Godly flame that lays in wait to be awakened Rebirths Rage lvl 1- With a new life comes the anger of unfinished business in the old world. Heavenly Star Realm power revitalizes stamina and strength. Bloodeater: Feast lvl 1- Ingest blood to satiate hunger and boost Endurance and Strength stats. Equipment: Necron Cloak- Evolving Armour capable of summoning stored souls. ? Summon Lesser Demon Eye - A demon eye capable of weak mental attacks Loincloth - Basic loincloth to cover waist Basic Rag Shirt - A shirt made of rags.] Lucius was bewildered by this screen in front of him but it seemed to detail all his traits, strength and equipment. He could now see that he was not a human but a Bloodeater, some sort of humanoid monster that feasts on blood to get stronger. He also noticed he seemed to retain his past life''s cultivation and divine flame despite the very limited access to it. But it must be stated that in Lucius'' old world even a fraction of Heavenly Star Realm power was devastating, so being able to nourish his six year old body with it was a huge gain. This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Report any appearances on Amazon. There were two others things that stood out to Lucius, one being the fact that he was level one, even coming from a martial world he could surmise what this meant and second was this cloak he found himself wearing. When he first put it on it felt like it shrunk so as to fit it''s new master which seemed to have been the case as it''s detailed as a living piece of armour. it''s special skill also looked like it would come in handy. Lucius stopped thinking about the screen and it soon vanished showing that it was mentally opened and closed. Following that he toyed with the cloak as well as testing out this so called spirit he had. Lucius found that spirit was much similar to martial power and ordered it into the cloak, at which point small dazzling lightening tendrils coalesced into a small demonic eye with a meaty tail extending behind it. Lucius was sure that he was in a new world he already felt off being unable to sense martial power but after everything he''s seen so far he is now more than convinced. Realising he couldn''t just stay in this tombs room he walked towards a door that seemed to be the exit. Opening the door, Lucius left the tomb looking around all he could see was a dark passage way in front of him. In the middle of the hall way was an odd looking skeleton, firstly it was alive which wasn¡¯t much of a surprise to Lucius as reanimation was possible in his old world but what did surprise him was how it seemed there was flesh of beasts almost alive within the skeletons ribs. The face of the skeleton also had a flesh substance writhing across it. ''What is that? A cross between an undead human and beast perhaps?'' Lucius questioned what type of being could be in front of him and as if the world heard him a sudden message appeared in front of Lucius'' eyes. [Appraisal Lvl 1 learned] As if staring at the creature with intent made this skill suddenly appear out of thin air. Lucius could guess what the skill entailed but still checked his status. [Unique: Appraisal Lvl 1 - Identify Lesser Life forms and objects] Lucius could now study low level creatures and items which he was sure would come in handy to develop ways to deal with enemies. Moreover whilst looking at his Status Screen he realised that he remained at 90/100 Spirit Power meaning the summoning of the demon eye required constant spirit power expenditure. So with a thought the Demon eye slowly dissipated into the cloak, returning the spirit power back to normal. ''Alright let''s find out what this hideous creature is and whether or not it will help me level up'' Lucius assumed Appraisal would work by simply staring at something with the intent to appraise it. Thus a small screen once again appeared before Lucius eyes. [Reanimated Apparition- A creature that was once alive now only contains a chaotic mess of emotions and instinctual drive to feed. Stats: Vitality- 30 Endurance- 15 Strength- 15 Dexterity- 5 Spirit- 0 Spirit Power- 0] ''It seems pretty weak but then again I''m in the body of a six year old, it shouldn''t be able to do any special attacks without spirit, basically a foot soldier. But then again in my past life I would guess foot soldiers would have at least ten to a hundred times more power.'' Lucius walked closer to the creature and when he was about fifteen meters away the skeleton turned to face him. With a growl it began its charge, but with five points of dexterity it was like a jog or a stumbling walk. Lucius didn''t have his past life cultivation nor body but still retained fighting techniques at least enough to fight a monster compared to a drunken fool. With a swing of its arm the apparition aimed for Lucius'' face but with five times better dexterity Lucius found it easy to manoeuvre around the creature and threw a punch at its jaw from side on, thinking logically a skeletons head shouldn''t be very secure on its brittle neck bone. Yet this world wasn''t a very logical one from the beginning as all Lucius'' punch achieved was the shattering of the right jaw, which would be a deadly move utilised on a human but against this skeleton? May as well have tickled the monster. Lucius didn''t stop there just because he didn''t kill it in one shot, pushing his small and agile body underneath the skeletons reach, Lucius performed a powerful uppercut that would at least disorientate the creature and yet to Lucius'' surprise the Apparition who was essentially moving in slow motion grabbed Lucius and held him in a bear hug squeezing tighter and tighter. The skeletons high Vitality clearly made it a tough opponent for Lucius who was technically stronger but he was still flesh an bone and would fell every inch of pain. If you felt no pain and had bones of steel it was just a waiting game to catch your opponent. With Lucius now finding it hard to breath staring into the empty husk that was the Undead, he attempted a last resort attack, he began biting at the flesh on the Apparitions face. No matter how foul or disgusting it was he needed to use his Feast skill to become stronger and to replenish his stamina. If he had time he could have activated Rebirths Rage but he found that it is very draining to use, naturally it would erase that feeling once it was used but the process leading up to it requires simply too much stamina, which he certainly could not spare at the moment. Gorging on the rotten flesh some black ink slithered down Lucius'' throat. The liquid was actually blood and as soon as it was in his body he could feel his strength and stamina return, breaking free from the hold and retreating back a few steps. This time Lucius wasn''t going to underestimate his opponent so with a thought his demon eye was summoned and was sent to distract the skeleton. With its usual slow reactions back it found it hard to damage the demon eye. Whilst this happened Lucius charged at full speed utilising his now 26 points of strength and dexterity, with the speed multiplying his initial attack Lucius punched the skeleton right in the middle of the chest and with a downward motion smacked it into the ground. Still the creature remained alive, but with an unconscious use of appraisal Lucius could now see the once 30 points of Vitality down to a measly 5. Not wanting to drag the fight out any longer Lucius started to bend the apparition neck, feeling to weak he continued feeding on the flesh around the Creature and soon after a loud crack was heard throughout the passage. Lucius had managed to finally break the skeletons head off. [Level Up] [Feast Complete - Evolution Unlocked] Chapter 2: Dual World Cultivation Lucius panted heavily, his Endurance and Vitality had dropped by a few points and his miserably weak body couldn''t exactly handle the fatigue. His knuckles were bloodied and his ribs were bruised from the tight hold. Still none of that mattered because Lucius had achieved his first Level up. In his old world death followed him wherever he went, he knew the longer he was a mortal the more death would surround him, love would only end in violence and hope would turn into suffering. The only way to overcome death and sadness is to become an immortal and so Lucius spent his years overcoming obstacles in his way and had almost achieved his dream of becoming a god that ignores such trivial things as death. Yet he was placed in this world, he wasn''t sad because darkness had already taken that emotion, he wasn''t longing to return because everything to go back to was already ashes years ago. Instead he was angry that he lost the power that he cultivated, the power he would use to overcome all these emotions he hates so much. Lucius already once tried to cast aside his emotions and yet anger, hatred, unwillingness, greed and selfishness remained. Now in this world where only dark emotions were festering he felt.... Excited. Perhaps it was his destiny to accumulate power and then lose it. Over and over again, but that wouldn''t stop him from becoming unrivalled and ascending to a place where he can finally escape. Death was easy, living and training to become a god was impossible and yet after this level up he was one step closer to achieving his dream in this new world. Lucius had finally regained some of his humanity, well it''s more accurate to say that he regained the human emotion of wanting to fight, to battle stronger opponents to become stronger himself. Caution would always cloud his mind but now if he faced strength he would reply with power in return. Lucius opened his status menu, what appeared in front of him was some text that made him feel a mix of emotions, that he couldn''t quite understand. [Level 2 reached! - Upon reaching level 2 you may choose a Potential and Talent enhancing award. Choose Reward: ? Dragon Blood ? Soul Emerging Pill ? Dual World Cultivation] Lucius wasn''t sure what any of these rewards were per say but they all looked mystical in their own way. ''Dragon Blood would probably allow me to evolve into a Human/Bloodeater/Dragon Hybrid which would definitely make me several times stronger. I''m not sure what the other two rewards are maybe I should just choose the blood.'' As if the system heard Lucius'' inquiry a description was displayed for the two other rewards. [? Soul Emerging Pill Increase your spirit power to the upper limits of your current evolution ? Dual World Cultivation Transfer consciousness between two bodies in two different world''s.] The soul pill was definitely the greatest way to improve one''s potential, the spirit power capacity gained could be enormous depending on the evolution, however Lucius was solely focusing on the Dual World Cultivation reward. ''Can I get more information on the last reward?'' Lucius eagerly questioned the system hoping that he was right in thinking it understood him, Unsurprisingly a new interface was shown. [? Dual World Cultivation Your body will exist both in this world and another of your choosing, they will be separate bodies but also the same, everything will be shared. Control will transfer every time you lose consciousness, however time will not flow for one body whilst in the other. When control is transferred again you will resume your previous unconsciousness.] Lucius stared at the description for a god few minutes, perhaps surprise had made him faint standing up and yet he still seemed awake. "Haha haha haha I''m going to return, return to my old world, I will start over but I do not care. There is a sure fire way for me to become a god and if I''m persistent enough I could be a God in two world''s, I shall be a Lord of Evolution and an expert in the Divine God Realm." Lucius was happy, thrilled, joyful, for a moment he felt all the emotions he had locked away flow back In. He could now get stronger in two world''s, he could return and complete unfinished business and explore a new world side by side. With a thought Dual World Cultivation was chosen as his reward, with this Lucius could strengthen himself quicker, after all he knew the ins and outs of cultivating in his old world. [Dual World Cultivation Chosen] [Select Alternate World] A long list of world''s appeared in front of Lucius, he scrolled through the air for a minute straight and was still in the A category, he could imagine how hard it would be to choose a decent world at random. So Lucius thought of his old world in his head, Pavarion. A world of beauty and foulness alike, a land that worshipped the strong and killed off the weak, a world that Lucius would return to. As if the system and interface knew what world Lucius wished for the screen suddenly changed to a world with several locations mapped. On the World Lucius recognised most of the continents and countries, only most of them because there were several foreign lands mapped that never existed, this made Lucius frown, he was sure that there weren''t just undiscovered countries, they simply never existed. ''It is possible that it took over a thousand years for me to be reborn which would mean Pavarion would have changed drastically. Well that doesn''t really matter, even if it has changed I still have the home advantage. Alright lets select this world.'' Lucius chose his second world and the screen disappeared, he would only have to sleep to go back now.Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. The system was not going to rest though as a new screen popped up printing even more information. [Reinforced Bloodeater Evolution unlocked] [Proceed?] After feasting on the reanimated apparition it made Lucius'' evolution advance a stage, he would no longer be a fledgling Bloodeater but a reinforced one, there was a chance that he would resemble the skeleton if he accepted, but from the name it seemed the evolution was favouring the Bloodeater over the apparition. Lucius thought it over and decided he may as well accept, even if he turned into a skeleton he would be welcomed in this tomb, and when he got to Pavarion he could just eat a person and then become more humanoid again, well there would be a chance that wouldn''t work. The screen once again disappeared and light shrouded Lucius in a blinding mist, then he felt like every bone in his body was breaking, slowly and painfully a bone would crack, rotate, break apart and then reform. This happened for at least two hours, Lucius kept conscious the entire time, not that he wanted to just the blood curdling screaming and bone wrenching pain wouldn''t stop. For a six year old body that was much smaller than an adult the pain was already mind shattering, Lucius shuddered at the thought of doing that in adulthood. The initial breaking he could handle but shattering, rotating and then reforming before starting the process again was just unbearable. With his body finally soothing and relaxing Lucius opened up his Status menu. Name - Lucius Age: 6 Level: 2 Stats: Vitality- 16/50 Endurance- 15/25 Strength- 30 Dexterity- 30 Spirit- 11 Spirit Power- 91/101 Evolution: Reinforced Bloodeater - A Bloodeater whose body has been broken and reformed to the point of physical perfection. Heavenly Star Realm power revitalizes stamina and strength. Dual World Cultivation - Transfer consciousness between two bodies in two different world''s Bloodeater: Feast lvl 2 - Ingest blood to satiate hunger and boost endurance, dexterity and strength Steel Bones (Passive) - Users bones are stronger than steel, regenerate and have high resistance to elements Equipment: Necron Cloak- Evolving Armour capable of summoning stored souls. ? Summon Lesser Demon Eye - A demon eye capable of weak mental attacks Loincloth - basic loincloth to cover waist Basic Rag Shirt - A shirt made of rags Looking at his ever growing strength Lucius was feeling content. He guessed that it wouldn''t be so easy to reach high levels but for now these Reanimated creatures would do just fine to help him advance. After a while he slowly felt his fatigue fade, with his Endurance and Vitality at the max Lucius felt he could fight another ten of those undead skeletons. With his energy returned he got up and continued down the passage way, however eager he was to return to Pavarion, he needed to grow as much as possible in this world first. Once he crossed over Lucius was certain he would keep his skills and so if he were to level up Rebirths Rage then cultivating would be almost too easy. Well it would only really remove the need to meditate, he still would need to use herbs, pills and gain battle experience otherwise his new body would never be as good as the old. The thing troubling Lucius'' mind right now though was how good would his cultivating talent be in his new body. Thinking realistically a body born outside the land of Pavarion would have absolutely no talent to cultivate. In his old life he was known as the Heavenly Death Lord, the Sovereign of the Sword. Born to a powerful clan with the best talent in several millennia he progressed rapidly through the realms, he became a threat to the world so everyone who even looked upon him died, whether it was by his own hands or another''s. Now Lucius would have no background, no home and honestly he felt that would be better at least then he won''t have to lose anyone again due to the simple fact he was born to be a God. In his last life he had the luck to have divine talent he could only hope his luck hadn''t run out, either way as long as he had even the smallest amount of martial power with time he would ascend all the same. The passageway was a snake twisting every now and again making Lucius think that it would go on forever, he encountered a couple Reanimated Apparitions and found it much easier to fight them, with his strengthened bones his hits were more powerful and with a large increase in vitality it wasn''t difficult in the least to knock the skeletons over where he would feast on them after which he would smash their skulls. [Immortuos Bone obtained] A sudden message appeared after Lucius killed another undead, he obtained a new item after killing it showing him that these creatures gave him something more than just experience to level up. Equipment: Immortuos Bone - A sharp bone knife imbued with dark magic to make it harder than metal Lucius had finally obtained a weapon, it looked like a knife in all ways except it''s bone structure, dark particles also drifted across its surface showcasing the dark magic that resided within. When Lucius struck it against the undead on the floor a concave was left where the bone cut. '' So this bone is slightly stronger than the apparitions making it probably even more sturdy than a usual sword. This bone could be wielded well as a dagger to use alongside my high agility. Moreover if I apply enough strength this weapon will be capable of killing without fail, humans and undead creatures alike.'' Lucius would definitely find this bone useful for now, a strong dagger was hard to come by but this bone suited just fine. After walking for a while longer Lucius found another room attached to the passage, he had been walking for an extended period of time and felt drained after so many fights, although the system said his Endurance was full, his body sure as shit didn''t feel it. Opening the door Lucius was ready to fight with his blade in one hand and the demon eye trailing closely behind. What entered his vision was a similar room to what he could only call his birthplace, a small dent in the floor where a strange liquid gathered with several dead bodies surrounding it. Lucius was unnaturally drawn to the liquid, it was black in colour and had a purple tint that made it look royal and majestic. Lucius felt he was losing himself, entranced by the liquid. A drunken psychedelic feeling overwhelmed him and he collapsed to his knees, slowly crawling towards the liquid. His usual scarlet eyes became a deep crimson and veins around his eyes bulged. Falling down into the pit he felt warmth embracing his body, some of the liquid splashed into his mouth and with it unimaginable pleasure came. Lucius felt the delicious and inviting feeling for only a few seconds before he slowly faded into unconsciousness. Chapter 3: Shooting Star The Sun slowly reached its peak in a quiet manner and the wildlife became more active. Grass swayed with the breeze with refreshing smells of nature drifting across the land. The atmosphere of this land was calm but held an underlying power that if used in the right hands could shake mountains. This was the land of Pavarion, a world of extreme beauty on the surface. Nature thrived and created beautiful scenery wherever one looked whether it was the flora or fauna everything had a uniqueness to it. Laying amongst the living grass was a small child, this was naturally Lucius who had found himself back in his own world. His appearance remained the same with his pale complexion, scarlet red eyes and long black hair. His stature remained thin, after all only the mysterious blood satiated his hunger for six years. Carefully climbing to his feet Lucius surveyed his surroundings, he was back in his original world, he could feel the martial power in the surroundings and already felt it''s nourishment and yet he was regretful right now, to him only a moment ago he was tasting the most glorious fluid in all existence, it felt like he was drinking the blood of angels. "Did you see that shooting star just now, it definitely landed over here. Come on hurry up Charlie!" Lucius heard a feminine voice closing in, he hid in a small bush as quickly as possible, he was still unsure of where he was. Although in Pavarion, he could be in the land of immortals or a simple peasants village, he had to be careful. Through some long grass a small girl and a boy emerged, the girl had long golden hair and looked no older than ten whereas the boy was slightly younger with similar golden hair. They approached the spot where Lucius was before, burn marks were scattered across the ground with ash leading into the bushes. Only now did Lucius realise that he was covered in some kind of burnt substance and that it lead straight toward his hiding spot. "Emily whatever landed here is alive let me call an elder, I know your in the Refined Realm but we have to be careful. If it''s an Immortal Overlord martial artist, the whole village will burn." The young boy called out to the girl and then turned around and ran, meanwhile the girl studied her surroundings. ''What''s going on, what the fuck is an Immortal Overlord martial artist. Also this girl is already a Refined Earth Realm martial artist, she must have very good talent.'' Lucius recalled that when he was alive there were seven realms each containing three stages. The Refined Earth Realm was the third realm on the path of cultivation and Immortal Overlord didn''t exist so Lucius could only wonder what an Immortal Overlord martial artist was. Lucius barely moved however the bush rustled just enough to catch the girls attention, so she quickly retreated and prepared to fight. In response Lucius could only surrender, he didn''t know if he could face her and also needed information. "Who are you? Are you the shooting star?" She was on guard but when she saw a six year old boy with only rags and a cloak on she relaxed. "I''m Lucius I don''t want to hurt you, can you tell me where I am please." Lucius was a six year old so he acted like one. "You are outside Cloud Striking Village, I guess that doesn''t mean much to you but anyway do you want to come back with me, I can help you get cleaned up." This girl called Emily was kind to Lucius and held him like a big sister would. ''Well okay then I suppose I could use this to my advantage, I need to know what country I''m in, just the name of a village won''t tell me anything.'' Lucius looked towards Emily she was smiling, she seemed innocent and was ready to take care of him. "I heard you were a Refined Earth martial artist, I remember mummy telling me about it but that¡¯s all I remember. Please tell me more about it." Lucius utilised his youthful voice, honestly it sounded cute but the squeak to it could also be called annoying "So you only remember martial arts, not surprising considering its importance. Well let me tell you then, all beings start at the Spirit Realm and then in this order you get to the Refined Realm, Ascended Realm, Soul Origin Realm, Martial Void Realm, Mystic Lord Realm, Radiant Sky Realm, Breaking Dawn Realm, Infernal Star Realm, Heavenly Exalted Realm and then the Immortal Overlord Realm. Silly boy the Refined Earth Realm hasn''t existed for a millennia, your mummy must have been teaching you history instead of martial arts." ''Well fantastic my guess was right the world is at least a thousand years in the future, what happened that made martial arts change so much?'' Lucius said he didn''t mind the changes to Pavarion but such fundamental changes such as this wasn¡¯t exactly what he had in mind. "Why did the names change though?" Lucius had to know why his world had changed so much. "Well if you have to know, about a thousand years ago what was known as a Divine God Realm expert fought another very powerful Divine God. The battle encompassed the whole world in a way, simply because they could not kill each other. Their strength was so powerful yet they were too similar, in the end there was a victor and through the fight he achieved a new level of strength, what was called gods back then were simply immortals and by the True God''s decree the world would be reshaped in the way he desired, with that apparently everything died and was reborn, the world started again, a new age was upon us. Cultivation fundamentally changed and now we are here, stronger than our predecessors were at the same level. Some condemn The True Gods'' actions and others worship him for cleansing the world. Oh look at me speaking so much you probably only understood the cool bits he he" Emily detailed Pavarion change and with each word Lucius felt more dazed than the last.Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! Coming to his senses Lucius wondered how this knowledge was known by some little girl in the country side, but Lucius wasn''t feeling particularly curious at the moment no instead he felt the kindling of his rage set off like an explosion, he dedicated his life to become a Divine God yet that wasn''t even the summit, moreover he could have been part of that purge by the ''True God'' and faced death all the same. His past loved ones died so he could achieve god hood and yet even if he reached that stage he would still have perished along with his family''s hopes and dreams. "What''s wrong little one are you feeling alrig...." Emily started spurting blood instead of words, her throat made sounds of choking even though all she was taking in was air, well not exactly anymore now she had blood flowing down her throat but also spurting out at the same time. She was choking on her own bodily fluids and she still had no clue what happened, the boy in her arms had dark crimson eyes staring into her soul with deadly malice. Lucius had lost control, his anger made his mind spiral and right now he was completely lost as if his life was a lie. Continuing to tear at Emily''s throat Lucius started to enjoy the pain he was inflicting and the more enjoyment he found the more control he regained. Emily in terms of strength was in the second realm, but against someone who had already ripped her throat open she couldn''t fight back at all. Moments later she died of blood loss, Lucius sat on top of her with cold eyes with blood lining his mouth. "I''m sorry, I lost myself to rage and you paid the price, unfortunatly I''m already nothing like a human after all I found enjoyment from your pain. I wasn''t a saint in my previous life, I was selfish and cared only for myself but I never enjoyed it. Out of respect for you I will no longer take pleasure out of death, instead I will feel nothing as you now do. The death of youth brings sadness across the world, Goodbye I hope you rest well in the afterlife." ''Perhaps after levelling up I regained humanity but after killing for fun I feel empty, perhaps that''s the only way I will reach my goal, death is the only path I can walk down to succeed.'' Lucius was entranced and only now noticed his status screen in front of him. [Butchers Regret learned] [Level Up] ''Well what does this skill entail, honestly this system really makes skills out of nothing especially this one, are you laughing at me for my sympathy for this girl?'' Lucius was in an odd frame of mind, he felt sorry for the girl and regretted what he did, death was only natural when coming across him and he had just accepted it so why did he care so much now. [Unique Skill: Butchers Regret - Followed by death wherever you go, you find power from it allowing the user to enter a berserk mode and yet when you claim an innocent life your strength turns to weakness, your emotions turn to stone and your life turns regretful] ''I see I feel so melancholic because of the skills backlash, I''m not really sure how to break this feeling, perhaps it would be better if I stayed this way.'' Yet even though he thought that he triggered Rebirths Rage subconsciously , Heavenly Star Power or what was now known as Infernal Star Power engulfed his body, he felt his soul replenish it''s lost power, as though it was natural to maintain this energy. His emotions returned and he felt normal again, his forlorn mood had disappeared and the want and need to get stronger returned. ''I agree with my previous sentiment that this child''s death is a tragedy but I need to think about my future first, my life weighs much heavier than those around me, it''s sad but it is also true.'' Lucius stood up and looked at Emily''s corpse, after a quick search of her belongings he found a medicinal herb and a brush. Dismissing the brush Lucius picked up the herb and began fleeing in a random direction. Lucius had learnt only a fraction of the changes Pavarion faced before murdering Emily so he needed to find a new source of information, he was also aware that the other child would find Emily soon accompanied by an elder, Lucius was unaware of the strength of a village elder but knew they would at least be in the Soul Origin Realm. Lucius was now trying to follow the new cultivation system as it would be confusing for him to continuously change between his old age knowledge and the new ages knowledge. Continuing on through a thick forest, Lucius was constantly thinking about how he would have to live here in Pavarion, he didn''t have any background and would have no support, he would probably wind up living in the forest or on the streets. He couldn''t go to the nearby village on the off chance he is found out as Emily''s murderer. But fate didn''t want Lucius to choose his own path because as Lucius was running through the forest he ran into a man with pure white hair draped over his shoulders, he wasn''t old in the least instead he seemed to be very young or at least retained a youthful aura. "Hello there young one, are you perhaps lost and need to get back to Cloud Striking Village, I happen to be headed that way I just got side tracked due to the sight of a falling star." The man seemed to contain a deep wisdom and slyness behind his callous and unfeeling sliver eyes. The man then observed Lucius looking at the scorched clothes that were still intact and the pale complexion that shouldn''t be possible to have within a village so exposed to the sunlight. "Please don''t mind me I was just returning home, I live close by." Lucius couldn''t evaluate the man in front of him at all, he even tried to use appraisal to no avail. Being an Infernal Star Realm Martial Artist he thought he could at least guess someone''s realm. "Hmm, there is no structure in the vicinity of 100 miles excluding the Cloud Striking Village. I''m surprised someone so young can be so crafty, judging from your appearance you must be the thing I got side tracked for." The man got closer almost seeing through Lucius'' soul, his piercing eyes held much more power than Lucius first thought. "Mister is right, I remember very little and don''t understand why I fell from the sky. But I can find my mummy by myself don''t worry about me." Lucius wanted to shake off this strange man, he would be better off alone, independent and uncontrolled. The man suddenly grabbed Lucius'' shoulder tightly, with a smile that seemed demonic he began whispering in Lucius'' ear "Less than a mile away there is a dead girl, with a gaping crevice in her neck, blood is spilled everywhere and the scent leads, oh what''s this? It seems it leads right... to.... you....." Chapter 4: Business Deal A wolf in sheep''s clothing, that''s the only way to describe this man standing opposite Lucius. Seemingly young and calm like the spring breeze, he hid his ferocious side well with his apathetic eyes barely hinting at something deeper. This exact man had Lucius in the palm of his hand literally, with a tight grip on his shoulder. Lucius would find it difficult to escape this precarious situation. Still it wasn''t as if he was completely out of options, if the man wanted him alive Lucius could accidentally lose consciousness, where he would need to rapidly need to build strength in the other world. That plan would only work under the assumption that Lucius wasn''t going to be killed in the next few seconds. "You intrigue me, you fall out the sky after which you kill some random villager and then run away with no destination in mind. You look barely older than 5 yet can still scheme, you are lost and seem unsure of the world. In front of me you do not show fear but instead intelligence that you no doubt are using to plan an escape, I look at you and see weakness and yet a hidden strength. Am I wrong and I am simply looking to much into it?" The man relaxed his grip but still kept eye contact, making his glare even more hostile. "I''m sorry sir I don''t know what you are talking about, I really have to go." This was Lucius'' chance to leave he didn''t want to wait around any longer. For all he knew a village elder was on their way to kill him to avenge the girl. Lucius could only laugh at that thought and guessed he must have been a psychic in one of his previous lives because in the distance an Old man with a small boy following behind approached. Lucius was suddenly pushed behind the odd man and felt martial power sweep over him, removing the burnt substance across his body. Although brief and not long enough for Lucius to calculate the strength of the martial power he knew one thing, that it was strong. The old man stopped in front of the strange guy, the old man had a bald head with a long grey beard stretching down to his chest, the boy beside him was the same one as before however he had the eyes of terror and rage combined. "Are you the ones who killed Emily, if so you better prepare to die a more gruesome death than what you did to that sweet little girl." The old man condensed martial power around his fists creating rings of thorns around each fist. "Thorn Cutter" the old man shouted out the skill to give it more power and with a large slash he aimed to wrap the thorns around the strange guys neck. But before they reached him the thorns dissipated as white sparks flashed across the air, without a word or movement the strange guy eradicated the old mans attack. The old man stumbled backwards and was shocked to see his skill dealt with so easily. Lucius observed the skill closely and believed he understood the power of the old man as well as the skill he just used. In the old era of Pavarion skills would be ranked alongside cultivation realms. A skill would then be a Low, High or Flawless grade, Lucius believed this had not changed as that attack skill was clearly a Low grade one and if the low attack power was anything to go off then that skill was definitely a Soul Origin one making this Elder less than remarkable, especially for his old age. "Is this how you welcome Imperial Guests in the Cloud Striking Village, I must say it is rather rude to include fights in your introductions. Or perhaps your unaware that you are facing Imperial Lord Samael Grimvale in which case I may spare your life." The strange guy was called Samael and was an Imperial Lord, Lucius had no clue what that meant and was still wondering why he was protecting him. "I''m so sorry milord, I was so angry that I didn''t recognise you and even attacked you, please punish me and spare the rest of the village." The old man''s attitude made a complete 180 and started to kneel and grovel at Samael¡¯s feet. "You may stand. Just escort me to the Village so I may talk to the head, understand that I have spared your life today." Samael sent forth his oppressing aura that made the old man and child cower, this time it was enough for Lucius to discover what realm this Samael was in. It turned out he was in the Radiant Sky Realm, a powerful expert to say the least. He was only a realm or two short of being in the same realm Lucius was in before he was reborn. "Milord may I ask who this is accompanying you, we believed to only be receiving you today." The old man asked humbly and respectfully to ensure he didn''t offend this powerful expert again. "I decided to adopt this young boy, I have not had children of my own and when I was wondering the lands I found him living in the wilderness, he knows little of the world but has strong foundations to become a martial artist." Samael¡¯s words surprised everyone present especially Lucius, he thought he could live independently but now he had an adoptive father, then again it was most likely just a facade, a trick that Samael was playing. "It is an honour to greet an elder of the Cloud Striking Village, I am known as Lucius." Lucius was conveying his name to Samael so the lie would run smoothly and he wasn''t found out. Samael looked at Lucius with cold eyes, he was constantly evaluating him and became more certain that this was no ordinary kid. A child that had descended from the heavens with unnatural intelligence and a vicious nature would intrigue anybody, Samael thought he would take a gamble perhaps if this child was of the heavens he had something to gain out of it as well. The group of four people began heading towards the Village, the Elder and Samael began talking about the villages situation whilst Lucius and the boy trailed behind. This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author''s consent. The small child looked at Lucius with wet eyes, grief was evident and made this small boy look broken. Lucius didn''t respond after he looked at him and then dismissed him, he thought remaining silent was the best solution. For all he knew after Samael finished his business Lucius would be thrown to the wolves, better if he came across as a shy little boy that couldn''t harm a fly. Soon after the bustling sounds of people entered Lucius'' ears, In front of his eyes now stood a tall wooden fence, with an imposing gate in the middle. Guards stood in watch towers with bows in hand, at the sight of the elder the doors were swung open and the guests were welcomed. "The Village head has a grave matter to deal with at the moment so he will have to trouble you to wait around for awhile, is that okay milord?" The old man was almost begging Samael to accept having to wait, if not things were going to get ugly fast. "Tell the Village head that we will discuss our business tomorrow. Give me and my son a place to stay for the night." Samael just accepted waiting, he could make a big deal out of being disrespected but that wouldn''t solve either his or the villages problems. Lucius cringed at the word ''son'' perhaps his new life didn''t have parents but this Samael although strong could never match up to his father in his old life, his father''s strength was stuck at the Infernal Star Realm since his youth but that wasn''t anything to scoff at in the old era in actual fact it''s what made his old family so powerful, yet there still existed stronger beings and because of a simple mistake he made in his youth Lucius'' family, his clan, his only anchor to this world perished. Death followed him ever since that day and would''ve been claimed by it to if it wasn''t for his father''s sacrifice. That is why Lucius felt he didn''t deserve a family, one who has lost everything would not want to lose it gain. But despite losing his cultivation he was prepared to cultivate again, perhaps he could get a fresh start with a new family. Lucius felt hopeful for a few moments but dismissed the idea. Cultivation wasn''t the same as family, it wouldn''t leave you or betray you it was completely loyal to the one who cultivated it, a loving family felt more out of reach than becoming a god and so Lucius was prepared to forsake it forever. Inside a small wooden house that severally lacked in decoration, with a thatch roof and unsteady windows stood Samael and Lucius. A single bed with a small hide sleeping bag next to it were the only things that adorned this shack, well in Lucius'' eyes this truly was a shack though compared to the other houses in the Village it was pretty good. "So what do you say do you want to be my son? To be precise you will accompany me back to the capital and learn martial cultivation from me. Think of it like a Business Deal, if you even know what that means." Samael looked at Lucius with his piercing silver eyes once again, looking past the seriousness he actually seemed sincere which did seem odd to Lucius but when he thought about it carefully it did have some logic to it. Imagine coming across an intelligent six year old that fell out the sky, assuming it''s out of pure selfishness then taking in a child of heaven, a descendant from the skies and maturing them well then your status would easily grow. "Listen brat I don''t plan on loving you or really even caring for you, I need you to represent my interests amongst the younger generation and everything I''ve seen so far shows me your more than capable. Naturally I''ll help you get stronger and when I reach the apex of the kingdom you will have absolute access to everything you could ever dream of." Samael had already decided in his mind that if this child from the heavens didn''t have good enough talent then he could easily discard him. ''I''m not stupid enough to think I can survive completely alone, with this I gain background and a foundation to improve upon, the offer to help me get stronger is essentially useless, if anything I would be helping him. Well if it doesn''t work out, independence is always an option. I''m glad that in the end this is a simple business deal, we aren''t family just partners in his bid to take over this country.'' Lucius thought that this deal could constrict him but at the same time it would protect him, and honestly he didn''t want to essentially die again. "Okay I will follow you but honestly I don''t remember any of my past, I am aware of how to speak, fight all the basics really, what I really don''t know is where I am and why I''m here." Lucius played the amnesia card, it really was the best thing he could think of, it was the only option with the bare minimum amount of questions asked. "Well Lucius you have found yourself in the country of Morrigan, right now we are inside Cloud Striking Village a vassal to the current Queen of Morrigan. I am an Imperial Lord someone who serves the Queen directly and governs several legions of warriors. Under the Queen are 72 Imperial Lords and I find myself being part of the minority of those without offspring so you will become my lost son that I searched the lands for. Under my care you will become the strongest of the younger generation. I am simply repeating this so you come to understand how important your job is." Samael gave Lucius some idea as to his whereabouts unfortunately the country of Morrigan meant nothing to him, he was still clueless as to where in the world he was. Samael also wanted to make sure his future plans were well known ensuring Lucius followed along well. Usually if you were a persons senior with stronger strength you would find it hard to bow your head in front of someone weaker than you but in this situation Lucius could only comply, he needed the security and in this body he was Samael¡¯s junior many times over as well. "Well now you understand where you are and what I wish for you so we can start cultivating. Most children are around your age or a little older when they start cultivating so now is the perfect time to start your cultivation journey. Now what you must know is you are in the Spirit Realm from here......" Samael¡¯s voice was slowly tuned out by Lucius, he kept his eyes on Samael to feint attention but stopped giving him his mental attention. ''The world has changed a lot with the rebirth of cultivation and honestly it doesn''t seem to different, it looks like cultivation got easier but really it''s gotten more simplistic. In the old era seven realms with three stages each seemed simple and yet in the new age there exists only twelve realms, in terms of numbers the New Age seems quicker yet I can clearly tell that with this faster Cultivation a decline in quality in the later stages is present. Samael is at the Radiant Sky Realm which would be equivalent to the old ages Imperial Spirit realm, a realm not so distant from the Heavenly Star Realm. But in this time you would need to progress through the Breaking Dawn realm to reach the same power, when comparing three stages to an entire Realm it is evident how much more time is actually spent as well as how little ones martial power is actually refined into better quality. So with this in mind I will combine the cultivation paths of the Old Age and the New Era into one with the products being increased cultivation speed and higher quality martial power.'' Lucius was deep in thought but still was aware to the fact that Samael had now placed his hand on Lucius back to help him move his Martial Power for the ''first'' time. Chapter 5: A Dream? "The key to channelling martial power is to firstly gather it into the centre of your body, your energy within will then begin to strengthen your insides and with its power you must slowly spread it across your body. You must use the martial power from herbs and pills as well as from your surroundings and through the gathering of martial power and the strengthen of your energy centre and body you will slowly increase its potency and only when your body has reached its peak under your current martial power will you rise in cultivation. Martial Cultivation is a rigorous process that has you constantly refining your body and it''s energy to get stronger." Samael pushed against Lucius with an incorporeal force, with its help Lucius'' martial power would gather more easily in his energy centre. Meanwhile Lucius sat there with a straight face as if he was obeying commands but his mind was in a completely contradicting state. ''Has Pavarion been reborn as a land of idiots, even a child in the Old Era could tell you that this was Martial Body Cultivation, a simplistic way to strengthen the body and ones martial power at the same time. I will admit that it isn''t as simple as before and definitely has it''s merits but missing out the key phases of refining your martial power until it''s completely pure and improving the Spirit within makes a cultivator much weaker as they progress. I reckon someone from the Old Era in a lower realm than one in the New Age would be able to at least escape if not put up a decent fight. The thought of someone a whole Realm weaker being able to escape much less fight back really puts this cultivation to shame. However this may be good news as well because I could easily adapt or add this Body Cultivating to my old cultivation system, which focused more on the mind and spirit. If I were to guess then I would say ''The True God'' or whatever he is called would have heavily focused on refining both his body and mind perhaps that is why he triumphed over all who stood against him.'' Lucius was certain that what Emily said about Cultivators in the current time being stronger was far from the truth. By implementing this cultivation system people would be able to advance at an increased pace at the beginning but bottlenecks would soon appear around every turn to the point that only genius'' could advance further. Lucius had two theories, one was that the True God had either left out parts of his cultivation methods or that they were simply lost or removed in an attempt to make a Cultivators grow faster. The second theory was that with the rebirth of the world many Legacies and Inheritances were left behind and what were now known as the powerful overlords of the land had monopolized the knowledge and simply let the commoners continue with their methods. So experts at peak levels of cultivation had an even greater edge over those in lower realms, a truly hopeless situation was created where the hierarchy would virtually never be toppled excluding the appearance of Heaven defying genius''. Lucius was now planning to be exactly one of those genius'' who would return his world to its rightful state. During the time Lucius spent calculating in his head he multi tasked and was now gathering his martial power towards his core, it was very easy to do after all his prior experience and the presence Samael boosted his ability greatly. "Alright now remain sat as you are and continue to draw your energy in, after two hours of doing this you may rest, understand?" Samael stood up after a nod from Lucius and walked over to the bed where he sat and began his own meditation. Lucius remained in a meditative position but halted the gathering of martial power and instead remained completely still. ''In the Old Era you began in the Mortal Soul realm, where one had to make their martial power stronger through mental exhaustion and soul refinement. The idea behind this was to make your Martial power not only strengthen itself but also the Cultivators foundation and soul. The Mortal Soul was what is referred to as a persons life force, all beings had life so naturally they would only have a Mortal Soul to begin with. The next stage in cultivation was the Pure Spirit Realm which was only achieved through the successfully refining of the soul into spirit. This meant that one''s life force would transcend and become something that had a spiritual link with the world, only in the Pure Spirit Realm could Martial Power outside the body be used in creative and exotic ways. Technically there existed Mortal Soul techniques however these were all internal and would never utilise outside elements. The New Age seems to follow a similar idea as when one''s body in the Spirit Realm passes it''s peak it becomes Refined and can manipulate Martial Power. Yet the Refined Realm falls short of the Pure Spirit Realm as the soul isn''t making a connection with the world it''s more that your body can simply handle the flow of Martial Power on the outside and this is why The New Age is quicker and allows physical enhancement but naturally without the Old Eras mental strengthen the Martial Power you control is only limited.'' Lucius was continually comparing the Old Era and New Age, he knew he could find the best cultivation path from a combination of the two so he had to simply figure out a way to merge them, this proved to be difficult but he was sure he could manage it.If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement. Lucius then recalled that the specifics of Soul Refinement required you to refine martial power in all parts of the body, then condense the spread out energy into a single place in the body after which you would repeat the process until each major body part had condensed martial power within, after this you would be essentially in the second stage of the Mortal Soul Realm. There was very little variation between the Old Era and New Ages technique however it was clear that the Martial Power was much more refined around the body in the Old Era but much less refined within the energy centre like the New Age. So Lucius simply had to do both, he would refine his energy centre whilst doing the repetition process of refining each body part independently. You could say Lucius was doing both Cultivation Techniques at once which would slow a persons progress down to a near halt but to Lucius, someone who was in the Heavenly/Infernal Star Realm he would at most be slowed down to the point of a regular genius, perhaps if his talent was worse than he expected then just an average Cultivator. But in the long run he would be so much stronger than his peers that his slow speed would have meant nothing. So Lucius continued his gathering of martial power across his entire body, the more he would take in from the world the more chaotic his insides felt, Martial Power generated from yourself was like a calm water, however it was limited and you could only generate so much in a short amount of time. In the situation where you needed more that wasn''t naturally created by yourself you would absorb the Martial Power in your surroundings, this power would starkly contrast to the calm water that was your own martial power. It was like a tyrannical tide that wanted to be set free, it would clash with your own power until you gave up. Naturally when you advanced in cultivation it would be easy to silence the chaos but right now Lucius wasn''t having a too pleasant time. He needed to have martial power in every corner of his body for his new cultivation path to work so he could only take in power from the outside. Lucius struggled with pain but could easily bear it, he had gone through a hard-core bone metamorphosis so he wasn''t a stranger to pain at all in his new body. Luckily the more time that passed the calmer the tempest within his body was and after several hours of meditating he had almost filled his body to the capacity. Lucius was aware that to get to the second stage of the Mortal Soul realm he would have to go through that process several times, more than he would like to admit but even still he was prepared, prepared to do what it takes to reach the pinnacle of the world. Coming out of deep meditation for several hours Lucius noticed it was already dark outside and that he should sleep soon, on top of the bed Samael sat still not even moving to breath. Lucius guessed it would take concentration and will power he did not have yet to cultivate at the Radiant Sky Realm especially after noticing the clear weakness in it at the later stages. It was a clear testament to Samael¡¯s strength and perseverance to be able to reach the Radiant Sky Realm with the Martial Body Cultivation method. After some more brief thoughts Lucius passed out on the Hide sleeping bag, he had already been awake for several hours he was kind if glad to be able to sleep all of a sudden. Drifting off Lucius felt content with his starting point in both world''s, in one he was in some sort of experience grinding labyrinth where he could train his body to perfection and in the other he had the backing of a powerful official in a Land rich with Martial Power, it was only slightly regretful that Lucius couldn''t utilise Rebirths Rage to stimulate his Martial Power but he could not reveal that to anyone around him and knew that with even the slightest use of it Samael would be aware of its existence. So with light fading and his mind finally resting Lucius drifted into the dark abyss that was sleep. "Commander, Commander what are our orders! Kilgore¡¯s unit has fallen, his whereabouts are unknown how do we proceed? Commander what are our orders!?" A raspy feminine voice drifted into Lucius'' ears which were soon after followed by the sounds of fire and screaming. Lucius looked around and found himself in the sky with several hundred to a thousand people in a Large skirmish with skills of all kinds being sent through the air, claiming or saving lives, striking down or reviving people. "Commander Of Death, Sword Sovereign, the Demon of the Sky whatever other silly nickname you''ve been given WHAT ARE OUR ORDERS!?" The female snapped and grabbed Lucius by the collars of his clothes. "Denara? Your alive? What...where are we? Is this a dream?" Lucius looked at the familiar female in front of him, it was none other than Denara Valencourt, arguably one of the strongest Heavenly Star Realm Cultivators Lucius ever met. "What joke are you playing? Since when have you had a sense of humour? You are at the Battle of Whiteridge Peak, now get your head on straight and give out our orders!" Denara was displaying a look of fear and anger at the same time one she did not show often. "This can''t be, I lost this fight. One of the greatest failures of my life, I wasn''t ready for the burden of being the Commander for the Country of Avankhar I am still not ready." Lucius mumbled to himself whilst he saw blood spilling across the ground innumerable times. A strong gale soon followed that pushing back many Avankhar Soldiers. On the horizon a man with battle armour cloaked in beast furs stood, with a swing of his hand wind blades would sever tens of soldiers in half. He made eye contact with Lucius and roared, it''s sound multiplied by torrents of wind sent in several directions. ¡°So Ulthgar, we meet again¡± Lucius looked at the Barbarian like man and felt an overflowing rage was controlling him, Lucius could relate he now also felt like rage had taken the wheel and was about to be set loose. Chapter 6: Return to the Tomb "I faced Ulthgar the Wind Demon and slaughtered him, with his death I gained his precious Amulet of Infinite Gales allowing the user to fly without the use of martial power expenditure, it was a key piece of equipment that helped me kill the Divine God Realm Expert in the future. But if I did not engage him out of greed and stayed at the helm we wouldn''t have lost the battle, Kilgore my loyal vassal would not have been captured and executed and the closest thing to a friend I had Denara would not have been murdered." Lucius carried on talking to himself not enough that others heard but enough to convey a crazy and psychotic image. "Our Commander has lost his nerve and is unable to issue commands so I will take the helm, starting with the 11th brigade you will.." Denara began giving out commands to the Lieutenants around her. "ENOUGH!" The sky shook with the deafening sound of Lucius'' voice, his eyes that were a usual light green became a pearlescent black. His skin darkened and his stature seems to grow in height and muscle, even his fingernails grew into claws. "You will follow my commands and my commands only, Denara you will go support the Rear Guard. Everyone else follow me, we are heading to the left flank where we should find Kilgore, once retrieved return him to the Rear Guard as well. I will then take out their Commanders on the Right Wing of their forces. GO!" Lucius commanded with absolute authority and with his words everyone followed, even Denara who seemed to have many things to say. Lucius soon locates Kilgore surrounded by tens of enemies, with his command the soldiers that followed him launched an assault and soon after extracted Kilgore and his men. Increasing his speed even more Lucius used a Flawless Heavenly Star Realm speed technique turning his trail into blue flames and making the right wing suddenly into a flame festival. Blue and red flames combined and created a tornado of destruction burning through almost all those close to Lucius. With a rapid pace Lucius was now in front of the Right wing army''s headquarters. With his current Secret Technique ''Devil from the depths'' which changed his appearance to that of a demon and his strength to that of Heavenly Demons there were very few who could evenly match him at the Heavenly Star Realm. With the stroke of his hand a slash of pure crimson that contained the full power of the heavens stars broke apart the Headquarters. Giving the occupants no time to react Lucius called forth a great Blood Serpent from the far reaches of hell and willed it to devour anything in its site. This was another secret technique that Lucius had which was created through the constant use of ''Devil from the Depths''. Secret Techniques were created through the combination of several flawless techniques and required a vast amount of power to utilise much less create. The serpent opened its mouth an exterminated everything in front if Lucius, he remembered that it was precisely the Right Wings commander that killed Denara and resulted in the battles lose. "Did you think that much would kill me?" An arrogant man suddenly appeared behind Lucius with a golden body and crystalline eyes. He then proceeded to launch a powerful attack that made the earth crack into spikes and form a Large spear that went to impale Lucius. "In the battle before I summoned my Blood Serpent to stop your advances whilst I fought Ulfgar, you didn''t fall to it then so why would it change now, but remember I''m not called the Serpent Sovereign, no I''m the Sovereign of the Sword." With Lucius'' words the earthen spear disintegrated after which Lucius found himself standing before the Golden man. "Everyone knows Body techniques are for the weak." Before the man could even refute Lucius summoned a black sabre that slashed the golden body in a perfect half. The Black Sabre shone with a crimson lustre before returning to its original pitch blackness. Lucius then flew into the air and looked for Ulthgar, however he was nowhere to be seen so Lucius proceeded back to the Rear Guard where he would finally push for a final attack and as he approached the army in waiting he spotted two poles with crimson slowly drizzling from them. At the top of the grandiose poles were two heads, a grim pale female whose mouth was jarred open and a Male whose eyes were dangling from his sockets and his tongue barely attached. Lucius stopped. He set himself down to the ground with no force, amongst the soldiers on the battlefield no one would even realise Lucius'' presence. A single tear streamed down Lucius'' face before everything within a hundred metre radius turned to flesh that soaked the fields. The trees decayed into nothingness and bones were in shattering explosions. Lucius had failed again, one of his greatest regrets could not be fixed, he would forever shoulder the burden of the lose on that day and he now knew that no matter his strength even when he won he would lose. No longer, no longer would his strength be insufficient so he could only strive for more power, greed would overwhelm him but as long as he had nothing to protect that didn''t matter. With this resolution Lucius opened his eyes, once again in the unknown tomb, his birth place, surprisingly the safest place he felt. [Unknown Blood Absorbed] [Evolution Unlocked] ''I need to stop feeling sorry for myself, the past is the past. Right here, right now I''m a six year old, I''ve been reborn with a chance at a new life here so I''m going to make the most of it. Fuck sadness and grief those useless emotions time to kill and get stronger.'' Motivation overwhelmed Lucius and he put the past out of his mind it didn''t really help him instead it made him feel sadness that should have disappeared years ago.You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version. A new window soon appeared detailing Lucius'' new evolution, this time he didn''t have a choice whether to accept it or not. [Evolution: Lesser Blood Demon - A demon that thrives off blood and can use it to cast unique sigils that invoke the power of death. Only through blood can one evolve further] ''I''ve become a demon? Lucius was interested how his status was looking now, he hadn''t looked at it in a while and he thought he should have some small increase in overall power. ''I really need to get new clothes, well it shouldn''t be hard to get some on Pavarion but equipment from this labyrinth probably have more useful effects.'' Lucius was pleased with his current power, he also noticed that his cultivation was now listed, adding to this his Spirit had increased more than ever before which made Lucius suddenly think that perhaps his spirit stat had some connection with his cultivation, thinking up to here Lucius was now nearly certain there had to be a connection, with his spirit governing his magical power it would make sense that it would affect his Cultivation power as well. As a test to check whether the two were linked, Lucius tested out his Blood Sigils. Suddenly a Large magic circle with runic writing and a pentagram in the centre appeared. Aiming at himself he drew out a sticks width of blood from his leg, the next instant he hardened it to crystal after which he threw it and pierced a nearby wall. Lucius checked his status and as expected: [Spirit Power- 103/123] he used spirit power for his ''magic''. Next he activated Rebirths Rage, it took a lot out of him to activate but as soon as it did he felt heavenly looking at his Status again made him smile. [Spirit Power- 123/Error] The system couldn''t calculate Lucius'' sudden power surge and proved that the spirit power was connected to both world''s. With Lucius'' increase in cultivation an increase in spirit would naturally follow. Imaging the spirit power of a Heavenly Star Cultivator made Lucius smile wryly after all he would then be able to draw the blood from hundreds and make thousands of these blood spears, this was assuming he kept this skill only at lvl 1, the potential here was massive. ''I remember thinking that the pill that expanded your spirit power to its maximum was the greatest talent choice but in the long run this is definitely greatest choice by far, even excluding all the other benefits it brings.'' Lucius then thought that if he could cultivate his martial power to increase his spirit power, couldn''t he also train his spirit power? Someone in this world would know how and then his spirit power would become godly. Perhaps that was the route to become an overlord in this world, to break the barriers of all your stats. Leaving the second tomb, Lucius continued to travel down the labyrinthine passageways where he didn''t see any monsters instead he noticed that it seemed to get brighter, what Lucius hadn''t realised was that being a Bloodeater and now a Demon allowed him to easily see in the dark so when then corridors got lighter Lucius thought he found the exit. Instead what Lucius found was a single torch on the floor, it burned dimly but didn''t to want to die out. ''Is someone nearby? For a torch to be lit then I must be near an explorer or care taker of this tomb. If I find someone things could get troublesome like it did in Pavarion, perhaps I should avoid talking to anyone. But I still am curious so lets check first.'' Lucius headed down the hall and followed it for several minutes before hitting a crossroads, this was the first time Lucius came upon a secondary path way. At this point he wasn''t sure which path to follow however in the distance of the left tunnel he heard a pant or a sigh, whatever it was it definitely sounded human to Lucius so he ran down the path turning a corner and seeing a black silhouette. "Figures I would be wrong, Humans aren''t the only things that pant when they''re tired." With Lucius'' lament the silhouette zapped into Lucius'' chest sending him into a nearby wall. Lucius looked up and could only wish he turned back earlier in favour of safety. "Grrrawr" *Screech* With the growl and deafening scratch Lucius finally felt the danger of the creature a true sense of dread washed over Lucius. Only those that faced perilous situations countless times over would feel the same terrible feeling in front of this creature. "Let''s play!"
