《My story Graveyard》 The Final Countdown. Prologue Pt1 2359.50... 2359.51... 2359.52... ¡°Well, it was fun while it lasted...¡± Sighed a dark haired woman with iridescent blue eyes and pale skin as she watched the clock at the edge of her vision count ever closer to midnight. She sat atop a large stone in a black cloak along the shore of a vast underground lake, the walls, ceiling, and crystal clear water lighted by manastone crystals emitting a blue-green glow. It was at this moment she reflected on her last great raid, or hiest as she liked to call it. The individual with the player name Siren, was one of the most notorious thieves in all the nine worlds ofNiu Heimar; the first truevrmmorpg to hit the market. She had the reputation of being able to breach any vault regardless of security. Naturally this reputation rubbed the do-gooders ofNiu Heimar the wrong way, being a vampire didn¡¯t help her in that regard either. Many tried to track her down only to fall prey to her traps or become lost in her illusions, attempting to reclaim their absconded wealth. Hours earlier Siren had completed the largest heist in her career as a player ofNiu Heimar. She had single handily raided the home base of the #1 ranked guild in the nine worlds, Wiken¡¯s Warriors. A guild based on the generic ideal of the heroic warrior, the white knight, etc.Despite Wiken¡¯s Warriors having hundreds of members, none were active this day. This gave Siren a unique opportunity, for that guild was rumored to have stashed in their treasury 3 God teir items. These items had the power to alter the game itself; with the developers approval of-course.The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. Support the author by reading it there. She infiltrated the guild base with a combination of stealth and magic, pickpocketing keys and hypnotizing human NPC guards with her vampiric race skills. The NPCs and automated defenses didn¡¯t stand a chance without their creators present to notice anything was amis. When she had successfully disarmed the last trapped enchantment on the vault door, she had the ultimate rush. She carefully entered the vault with a manic smile and claimed her prise, the only present God Teir item. The Chalice of Evolution, an item that allows a player to make what some called a game breaking change to their character. As long as the lore provided with the requested change is of the developers liking, they will approve of the request in a timely manner. With the chalice in her grasp, she activated the God Teir item and entered her request; To become a prognator, to posses the essence of Lilith, mother of all vampiric kind and all the power it includes. With her task completed, she activated her spacial ring forming a vortex drawing everything to her, emptying the treasure filled vault within moments. With a smile she activated her waystone amulet and teleported to her favorite scenic location, Glowstone caverns to wait for the end. As the the worlds ofNiu Heimar will cease to exist come midnight, with the closing of the servers. 2359.55... 2359.56... With a final glance at the natural beauty of the manastone lit waters Siren closed her eyes and layed back across her stone seat. With a high capacity spacial ring full of loot, a completed bucket list, and the addition of landing a God Tier Item. A thought popped up in the back of her mind ¡°I neverdid get to test my new powers... 2359.58... 2359.59... As the last few seconds tick by, Siren says calmly to herself ¡° It¡¯s a shame, I out lived the one thing that has kept me going for so long... A Living Nightmare: prologue Pt2 Beep... Beep... Beep... Swoosh, click Beep... Beep... Beep... Swoosh, click ¡±HOLLY SHIT THIS HURTS!!¡± Screamed the man in his thoughts as his mind emerged from hazy nothingness. He tried to scream aloud but he couldn¡¯t, tubes filled his mouth. He tried to pull them out, but he couldn¡¯t feel his arms or anything below his neck, nothing but agony. He started to choke and gag on the tubing in his throat, he opened his eyes and saw nothing but darkness. Beep.Beep.Beep.Beep.Beep.Beep. He heard in his panic the thundering of his heartbeat and the rapid patter of many sets of feet racing towards him along with distorted yells before he once again faded back to nothing. .............................................................. Siren¡¯s eyes bugged open and she lurched up into a sitting position in a panic, eyes darting about. She released a pent up breath seeing where she was, before muttering to herself. ¡°I seriously hate that dream...¡± She glanced out over the water of the subterranean lake before noticing something strange. The hud was gone and her body was soaked in sweat, something that shouldn¡¯t have been possible as that wasn¡¯t part of the game. This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Report any appearances on Amazon. She started listing every voice command she knew looking for any response. ¡°Um, Command Menu? no? ok, how about Chat? Admin? Help???¡± After exhausting every command phrase she knew, she started brainstorming for what could be happening to her. After what seemed like an age, she was left with three possibilities. ¡°The the servers have hit a snag, and only partially shut down..¡± ¡°Some god thought it would be funny to pull me into a real version of my favorite game for laughs...¡± ¡°Or I¡¯m dying and all this is just my brain hallucinating in its final moments...¡± With a sigh Siren brings her knees up to her chest, then grimaces. She glances down at herself, then back out towards the clear waters of the lake. She says quietly to herself, ¡°Well, I can kill two birds with one stone if I bathe and change my clothes... I¡¯ll at least know if I¡¯m still in the game, it had no nudity in it after all...¡± She rolls off the stone and onto her feet, then looking down at her spacial ring she began to recall how the lore explained its use. She focused on the ring with her thoughts and suddenly she could see everything stored within. She withdrew a pair of leather trousers, a dark green tunic, and some loose cloth to use as a towel. She set her new clothes aside and began to disrobe; first with her belt with attached pouch, her dark mage-like cloak, soft leather boots, and then her soiled clothing. Standing nude along the manastone lit shore, she admired her own reflection in the water. Smooth pale unblemished skin that seemed to glow in the low light, curves in the right places, full breasts, a body some may say is built for sin. She strode into the calm cool water and dove forward into the to swim, something she missed greatly. Prologue Beep... Beep... Beep... Swoosh, click Beep... Beep... Beep... A women in black sleeps atop a dark throne, alone in a vast cavern surrounded by mirror like waters lit by blue-green glowing crystals. She stirs, before jolting awake. "Fuck''n Hell, I hate that dream..." Yawning and clutching her head she looks across the chamber and noticed something troubling. The faint hud that has been at the edge of her vision for the last five years is gone and is she still in the game... ¡°This is strange, I should have been booted out to my home space when the the server shutdown Last night...¡±The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. "Home Menu, Log Off!" She yelled into the empty cavern, her voice echoing off the manastone studded cavern walls. "Shit! This is pretty serrious, my voice commands seem to be disabled and I have no way of contacting the administrators unless I find someone else that can. I need to get moving, the capital of this world should still have some people that can help me.¡± She takes to her feet and walks forward from her throne, stepping from stone to water. Her feet do not sink, but countinue to walk across the water''s surface. A simple ability common to high leveled vampires should they will it. She makes her exit towards a smaller cave at the water¡¯s edge. She follows the passage leading upwards, after a few minutes of jogging in the low blue-green light she reaches the surface world. ..................................................................... "What!?¡±Squawked the woman in black. The world she just entered is alien to her. What was a massive forest of redwood like trees is now a temperate forest of pine trees at what seemed to be mid-morning from the suns position. She walked forward with overwhelming curiosity. "Where am I? and... and... the wind... I can feel it... and it...smells so...SO GOOD!" Her bright blue eyes turned a murdurous red as she felt a ravenous hunger like the which she has never felt before. She takes off at a sprint in the direction of the delicious smell, her long dark hair trailing behind her. Throwing caution to the wind she runs and keeps on running, the smell and her overwhelminghunger edging her on. She breaks through the trees into a clearing, finding a lone man huddled there. He is injurred and leaning his back against the trunk of a tree. His head jurks up and swivels around to look at her, fear in his eyes. She stops to study him and to search for the origin of this most delicious smell. The woman in black realizing how painfully hungry she was could not break her gaze from the man. He was a tall man in ragged furs, rusted chainmale, a poorly cared for sword cluched in his right hand, and his left hand pressed against his stomach with blood seeping between his fingers. The rough looking man¡¯s expression changed, he now wears a cocky smirk as he lurched onto his feet, now staggering towords his sudden visitor he spoke in a language unknown to her, but she hardly noticed. The woman in black¡¯s full attention was locked on the man¡¯s wound. The delicious smell growing stronger with every step, she began to move forward to close the gap and just as she reached him, she blacked out. A1Ch1 In the Great Northern Woods slept peacefully a woman in a dark cloak laying on her back in the late afternoon sun. The knee high grass around her swaying gently in the breeze, scavenger birds circling lazily overhead. She sleepily opened her eyes, noting that she felt like she just had a full meal. Looking to her right, she sees gently swaying pine trees. Then looking to her left she sees a badly mutilated corpse hanging by its own intestines from a nearby tree. She closed her eyes and faced the sky before taking a deep breath then letting loose a scream that that echoed off the surrounding hills. .............................................................. ¡°HolyshitholyshitholyshitholyshiT¡± A Blood splattered woman in blackrapidly chanted to herself as she curled into a ball and proceeded to hyperventilate. With each breath she fell further into panic and nearly passed out before she began to calm. Sittingup, she hugged her knees tightly. ¡°This can¡¯t be happening... so much blood... and it¡¯s was so so sweet...¡± she said between gasps. ¡°To think, the first thing I tasted in years was to be so sweet...¡± she raised a bloodied hand to her face. Rising shakily to her feet, she staggered into the woods. ..............................................................If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement. ¡°Boss, the blood trail is only a few hours old, we¡¯ll have him before the end of the day!¡± eagerly stated a young man in leather armor. ¡°Good!¡± Grunted a man that some may mistake for a bear, with his size and bear skin cloak. They once again started setting forth into the Great Northern Woods on the trail of a wanted brigand. A group of adventurers had tracked bandits to their layer for a considerable bounty. This particular group of brigands earned the personal ire of the Baron of Lastwatch by kidnaping and brutalizing his daughter before she managed to escape. The two adventurers were pushing steadily forward through the forest on the trail of their last remaining quarry when they heard it. A woman¡¯s shriek from up ahead of them. It made their blood run cold. They looked at each other before nodding, they continued onward at double the pace, fearing for the worst. After several minutes of continuous running they reached a clearing and what they found shocked them. A haunting sight greeted them, a dismembered torso entangled in intestines hanging between trees and covered in bite marks. The ground was littered with scraps of flesh and armor with a severed head impaled upon a broken sword as a centerpiece. Though strangely, there was little in the way of blood. No pools, only individual drops. The young scout looked to the grizzled warrior in question. ¡°What could of have done this?¡± The warrior responded quietly. ¡°The Northern forest frequently produces strange beasts. Our man must of stumbled upon one, which I can¡¯t discern.¡± The scout nodded and inquired. ¡°The jobs done then?¡± ¡°Yeah, grab the head and let¡¯s hurry back to the others, we need to report this and I¡¯d rather not stick around incase what ever did this comes back.¡± Responded the warrior as he hefted his great axe up on to his shoulder. ¡±Agreed¡± said the leather clad adventurer as he steped forward to claim the head for it¡¯s bounty and unceremoniously shoving it into a burlap sack. A1Ch2 ¡°This can¡¯t be real... yet I can smell the forest of pine around me, taste, feel the breeze on my skin... This world is alive and the first thing I did was rip someone apart like a roast chicken... I don¡¯t even remember doing it! I-I just blacked out and killed someone!¡± Sobbed the woman in black as she wandered aimlessly through the woods. The path she wandered was winding, gradually leading down into a vast wooded valley. ¡°I¡¯m no saint... I¡¯ve killed before, but something like that... I haven¡¯t seen anything that bad since... the wars...¡± with that last mutterance she stumbled to a halt. (faint rumble) The steady sound finally breaking through her thoughts, she closed her eyes and listened. (Steady rumble) ¡±A river?¡± She glanced down at her bloodied hands, suddenly feeling an overwhelming urge cleanse herself of the gore, she rushed forward. The woods hurtling past her as she ran. The sound building until the pines suddenly parted revealing a breathtaking sight. A waterfall pouring into a pond of crystal clear waters, feeding a creek. The majestic sight calmed her frayed nerves as she walked steadily to the water¡¯s edge. In its gently rippling surface she saw a blood streaked face looking back at her. It had bright blue eyes, delicate features, and raven black hair. The woman in black reached up and touched her cheek with a quivering hand. ¡°I¡¯ve wished to be reborn, to be somebody else, to be whole for so long... and now that my wish was granted... I¡¯m terrified of what I¡¯ve become... what I created.¡± With a sigh she began to undress, tossing her bloodied clothing into a pile as she entered the cool waters to scrub herself clean. As she washed, the woman reminisced her past achievements that led to the creation of her current form. .............................................................. It all started as a literal escape from reality at the suggestion of my psychiatrist. Strange thing for someone like that to suggest right? Well, it did certainly help, I was extremely depressed at the time. One tends to sink into despair when you find yourself trapped in your own body. Quadruple amputee, shattered spine, blindness, and constant agonizing pain. It took awhile for my doctors to get the pain meds right, so for a time I was going in and out of consciousness.Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site. Fun times... Though after discovering the game Worlds of Yggdrasil, it was like I was born again. After I got the neural implant needed for virtual reality I dived right in. I could walk, I could run, I could do... anything I wanted. I spent nearly every waking moment in the worlds, creating an avatar vastly different than my past self. It was in my opinion, the image of perfection itself. Tall, athletic build, fair pale skin, raven long hair, and pale blue eyes. A real stunner. I shed my old self and embraced my new identity, I became . A human female spell-sword, a sorcerer thief in particular. With this combination I became rather notorious PKer and raider of bases. It was after ambushing a battered group returning from a boss raised that I first encountered my first ultra rare item. A vial of Vampiric Lord¡¯s essence. An item that turns those who consumed its contents into a high leveled undead, a Vampire Lord. With this essence my powers were taken to a new level and all it costs me was crippling weakness to anything holy and daylight. Over the years I had taken to collecting books and tomes on what many considered dark magic in particular. I also started collecting items of interest, such as the the five divine class items. When these items are apart they are not that impressive, offering large stat bonuses or various resistances. Though when brought together they allow a one time boon to the holder, a wish that they can ask of the games developers themselves. When I collected the last of them I immediately activated the relics right in the middle of the abandoned clan base and made the final alteration of my avatar. Within an hour my wish was granted and I became the first of my kind. A vampiric Progenitor. The lore for my newly created class was thus: .................................................................. The Progenitors, race of beings that are a walking paradox. They have immense power over death rivaling that of a Lich Overlords, yet are amongst the living. Their kind are believed to be of some relation to High Elves, with their proud features and pointed ears. Though with some certain differences. The progenitor¡¯s pointed ears are shorter, not unlike a half elf¡¯s. They typically have pale skin, light eyes, and dark hair. Once they reach adulthood they cease to age altogether, unlike the High Elves who continue to slowly age after that point. The progenitors, as the creators of Vampire kind, their word is law. None can resist the will of a progenitor, they will be compelled to fallow all commands even to their true death. Like their creations the progenitors have a taste for blood, or more precisely the vital essence that in habitats the blood. A progenitor¡¯s thirst is directly tied to their use of their racial abilities. If they make lite use of their powers they can subsist on regular foods for long periods of time. (Racial Abilities) -Blood Elemental Affinity -Death Elemental Affinity -Dark Elemental Affinity -Beings of Magic(all members of this race are capable of casting magic) -Unnatural Might(speed and strength increase) -Unnatural Grace(silent movement, water walking, and agility increase) -Indomitable Will -Hypnotic Gaze(able to put others into a trance with eye contact) -Psionic prowess(able to influence and attack the minds of others) -Wings of the Fallen(able to sprout and retract wings from their backs)(Males-bat like membraned wings tipped with talons)(Females-Wings of razor sharp black feathers) A1Ch3 ¡°Those damned creatures are still hanging on! Even with my holy edict, the faithful continue to fail in cleansing them from my world...¡± said Sahana the goddess of order and justice with a sigh at the pitiful efforts of her followers. Shifting her gaze from the failed crusade against the demon¡¯s stronghold to the hazy cloud like atmosphere of her domain. With a wave of her hand an orb formed before her, within it unfathomable possibilities. ¡°I¡¯m in need of a new hero it seems...¡± Sahana stated flatly as she peered deeply into the orb with her golden eyes from beneath her robes of light. She searched many worlds for a certain soul, one to fit her specifications. She searched far and wide and on a world called Terra she found one. ¡°Oh? What a wondrous mind! Though their flesh is so damaged... I¡¯d have to reincarnate them for them to be of any use.¡± She said as her face took on a thoughtful expression. ¡°Hmm, strange, very strange... the astral body doesn¡¯t match their physical body and it seems they are under some sort of illusion... maybe that¡¯s the cause...¡± Tapping her fingers against the orb, Sahana continued that thought. ¡°Instead of using reincarnation and then waiting for them to mature in a new body. I could just use their astral body as a blueprint, a way to skip the wait time!¡± Humming with glee for her own cleverness, the goddess Sahana began gathering her powers in preparation for creation, without ever studying what she was about to create. With immense focus and a surge of power released, her impulsive choice of a hero was reborn. ¡°Wow, that was more costly than expected ... Well... let¡¯s watch my new hero¡¯s first steps!¡± Sahana falls backwards as a cloud like sofa rises to catch her, golden locks spill from her hood as she props herself up on an elbow. The lounging goddess waves the orb over to her, starring into it as if watching an interesting flick on a tv. She watched in amusement at her hero¡¯s momentary confusion and when she caught a glimpse of their face she commented. ¡°Oh! A pretty one! She¡¯ll be popular...¡± When the hero left the cave she stated ¡°Awesome! Let¡¯s disband that dungeon and save some energy...¡± quickly erasing the crystal lit cave from existence. ¡°Pheew! That¡¯s enough work for one day!¡± Sahana chuckled to herself as she watched the orb intently. This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source. ¡°What the? Why is she rushing towards the only baddie in the area? I placed her there so that she wouldn¡¯t get herself killed first five minutes!¡± The goddess said to herself in bewilderment. ¡°How did she know where that guy was? She be-lined straight to him!¡± Sahana sits up and stares at the orb. ¡°What??? How???¡± She muttered in disbelief at the scene displayed before her. A scene of inhuman slaughter. ¡°Oh, no... I have to fix this! How did this happen? How did I get ¡®this¡¯ from a human!?¡± Kicking herself for her impulsiveness, she reached for the orb and began examining her creation¡¯s astral body. Spending vital moments studying the orb before her, the goddess¡¯s expression fell before it twisted in anger. She felt betrayed and tricked. She had inadvertently created a demon, an existence she despised and was trying to purge from her world. Seething with rage the goddess Sahana rose to her feet and shifted her gaze back to her supposed hero, they at this time bathing in a stream. She reached out with her power and pulled their soul into her realm. In the next moment a dark haired woman in the nude was deposited onto the cloud like floor with a smack. The woman sat on the floor in confusion before quickly covering herself as best as she could with her arms, locking her eyes on the golden woman before her. Flustered and confused she blurted out. ¡°Wha.. Where am?¡± ¡°Silence!¡± Interrupted the golden entirety before her. ¡°Abomination! Within an hour you have failed your purpose and my expectations! I judge you unworthy of existing upon my world and in my presence!¡± By the time Sahana ended her tirade she had gathered all the divine power necessary to obliterate the being before her. Unleashing her power to smite the creature before her, she watched as... nothing happened. Suddenly noticing a presence, Sahana snapped her head to the left seeing what was normally the white clouds of her domain had taken on a dark coloration as if storm was about to descend. ¡°Well well well... what do we got here? A gift? You shouldn¡¯t have!¡± Said a deep voice dipping with mockery. ¡°Luss!¡± The goddess Sahana spat out the name like a curse. ¡°How dare you invade my domain!¡± She sputtered out in rage at the intrusion and interruption. A mass of shadows in the shape of a man stepped forth from the darkened mass of clouds along the wall. His pale dead eyes fixed on the dark haired woman seated on the floor, a twisted smile on his lips. The woman frozen to the spot in fear. ¡°To think a goddess of order would create for me such an excellent candidate...¡± The dark being known as Luss stated, not dropping the mockery from his voice. With a sickly sweet voice Sahana said: ¡°Well if you gifted ¡®it¡¯ your protection, it¡¯s only right I give a gift as well...¡± Two pulses of power ring out, one from each god, battling for supremacy. The target of this struggle, screaming in agony as it rages through her being, until one canceled the other rendering her a groaning heap upon the ground. The god of chaos, Luss grunts in annoyance. ¡°Huh, you tried to pull a fast one on me Sahana? I grant her protection from divine harm and you tried to turn her into an infant as a counter? To use a boon in such a manner is so deviously unlike you.¡± He shakes his head. ¡°I think this little reunion of our¡¯s has gone on long enough.¡± As the goddess of Order stared daggers at him, the god of Chaos walked forward and taped the subject of this conflict of the gods upon her head and banished her back to the realm of mortals. A1Ch4 ¡°Blurb blob bloob!?!¡± A surge of bubbles suddenly disturbs the water¡¯s surface, followed by a head of dark hair bursting forth gasping for air. *cough* *cough* *gasp* ¡°What the hell was that? I almost drowned! Since when was this water so... deep?¡± She sputtered out with gasping breathes, her blue eyes widened with bewilderment at the sound of her own voice. She frantically began to run her hands down her body, finding it more slender and smaller than before. She goes still, allowing herself float upon her back, mind still reeling from what she just experienced. All she could recall was being screamed at by some woman with golden eyes and hair in some language that she didn¡¯t understand, followed by a feeling of imminent death, then a dead eyed man shrouded in shadow showed up, and finally immense pain. Initially she thought that it was all a dream, but there was no denying her body¡¯s changes and there was no way the pain she felt wasn¡¯t the real deal. ¡°It¡¯s Real! This is all real!¡± she finally admitted to herself. Up until this point, she was in a dazed denial up until the pain shocked her out of it. The sudden encounter had forced her to face her new reality. Thinking again of the encounter, her thoughts turned to her savior and the possible cause of the intense pain with a sigh. *sigh* ¡°Well... at least I wasn¡¯t reduced to an infant... I think that creepy guy may of actually saved me...Twice!¡±Shuddering at memory of her apparent savior. A chaotic mass of shadows with a weathered head of an old man set with a pair of dead piecing eyes with a hunger that made her skin crawl. Returning to the present she noticed the sky had taken an orange hue, the pale sun was well past it¡¯s zenith. She judged it was time to get out of the water and waded her way back to shore. The clothing she had left confirmed her change in stature and was now much too large for her. Gathering the least soiled of it, she begrudgingly started to alter them to fit her new form. After an hour of toil, she had converted her adult clothing into a ragged knee length dress from her blouse along with a makeshift pack from her cloak.Stolen content warning: this content belongs on Royal Road. The dark haired girl estimated her bodies current age to be physically that of around 12-14 years old human or roughly a 30 year old elven child and had adjusted the clothes accordingly. Whilst clothing herself, her eyes locked onto her left hand as she was reaching for her pack. A band with a dark stone was resting upon her finger, something she had completely forgotten about. ¡°I feel like an idiot...¡± she said in exasperation. She could of withdrawn clean enchanted resizing clothing instead of ruining her outfit and wasting her time. Continuing to stare at the ring for a moment she had a sudden sinking realization. ¡°How do I even open it?¡± Fidgeting with the ring before removing it, she watched in surprise as the ring grew large enough for an adult. The girl then gingerly slipped it back on and watched in wonder as it shrank to a perfect fit upon her finger. ¡°Ok... safe to assume it still works, but beyond that... I have no idea how to use this thing without the system¡¯s hot keys.¡± With a sigh, she started to think about her situation. ¡°I¡¯m a mage that knows next to nothing about magic... Although that may be for the best, it probably works differently here than back in the Worlds... I just need to find a teacher and then I¡¯ll figure out my spacial storage ring from there...¡± ¡°I¡¯ve next to no knowledge of this world besides knowing there¡¯s powerful beings here and one seems to have it out for me for some reason...¡± ¡°I got experience as a rogue and my training as soldier that I can lean back on if I can¡¯t find less dangerous work to support myself with.¡± ¡°I¡¯m trapped in the body of a child and am completely lost in a world that I know nothing about...¡± Slinging her makeshift pack onto her shoulders. "Y-Y-Yes sir!" stammered the nurse as she rushed to the specimen and carried out the command. She reached over the specimen''s battered chest to check the leads placed there, when suddenly thedecrepit creature lurched upwards with tremendous forceand tore the table from its mountings. If it can survive this... we''re fucked..." xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Asgard, The Grand Hall of Valhalla Odin sat upon his golden throne asone his feasts of legend was in full swing. TheGolden King was surrounded by warriorsof many worlds andjust as many agesmakingmerry ashe presided over thefestivities. He was taking a swig from hisgolden challace of mead when he felt an itch at the back of his mind. It was of a presence he had not felt in nearly a thousand years. He looked across his hall to see the entry of one of Freyja''svalkyrie, a woman in plate armor and winged helm with a long sword at her side by the name ofHilde. He watched as she wove through the crowd of revelers towards his throne, swating aside those with wandering hands with mighty blows. Odin grunted with amusement asa particularlyoverzealouswarrior was sent flying head over heelsthrough a table as thevalkyrie arrived at the base of the throne and gave a respectful bow. He acknowledged her with a nod his own and waved her over to him. Thevalkyrie then climbed the steps to his throne and greeted him with her besiness. "Greetings King Odin of Asgard, Skardib Skuldson has at last been slain. I carry on my person his soul stored within a soul gem as was the agreement should he meet his end by the conditions set." She promptlystatedand lightlytossed the said stone to Odin at his throne who cought it with ease. "You have my thanksHilde, daughter ofFreyja. If you have nothing else for me, you may take your leave." "I have one last thing to share, the soulhad grown... strange. " "Hmm, that so?" Odin held the stone to the light as thevalkyrie made her exit.Examining it in the light, he stiffened at what he saw. The stone had a red hue with a dark crimson core instead ofthe normal light blue or white color. He stood up from his throne and walked down from it to the hall''s central fire pit. His warriors quieted at his passing as he walked through their ranks until he reached roaring flames and swiftly threw the red stone into it''s depths. The flames surged upward and filled the hall with a crimson light, the spectacle drawing the eye of all pressent. Odin then fed his power into the flames to connectwiththe soul and see what lay within. What he found was disturbing, a scowl distorted his features and regret clawed at his gut. The soul was broken... the man it was is gone. Now only agony and the whispers ofmadness remained within. The only thing holding the soul together was the curse, which was also what destroyed it in the first place. Gathering the remnants Odin bagan to piece what he could back together, it won''t be enough to bring backSkardib but he could do the next best thing for him. He could return him to the cycle of reincarnation andoffer a good nest life for him by placing him back at his home world with good people instead of tossing him to the sea of souls. Odin grunted in annoyance as he worked, he decided he would never again use that curse due to the troubleit caused him. It had become impossible to remove without commiting the taboo of destroying a soul, so instead he just modified it the most he could before sealing it tothe damaged memories of the soul. If the curse were to resurface it would be more of a boon instead of a hindrance to it''s host. Despite his efforts and sealing of the curse the soul remained crimson with it''s taint, but that was the most he could do within reason for the fallen warrior. It was now time to send this tormented soul away to its next life and hopfully for it to heal in time. He gathered more of his power and called forth a tear in realitytodraw thesoul from the fireto sent the soul ofSkardib Skuldson on it''s way. "Far vel Skardi, son of Skuld!" Odin called out loudly as he grabbed a drinking horn from a passing servant. "May we meet again within these very halls! He then lifted the horn for a toast and surrounding warriors cheered and did the same. "Tonight we feast!"
