Walking quietly towards the bar Steve thought over why he was even trying anymore, he had been single his whole life, not from lack of trying, however, more from he never seemed to find the one. He had almost given up hope of even trying anymore, but here he was walking to the bar, just because his party infected best friend had called him not even an hour ago babbling about some ridiculous party he was at, at a newly opened bar, he had tried to protest with his friend for several minutes but that leach, had finally won him over when he said he¡¯d pay for booze. Looking up at them after a while, with ice blue eyes, inspecting them he finally spoke, ¡°walk through the door and chose a sword and step into the circle in the middle of the room" nodding both their heads they walked through, as soon as they did the scenery changed, to a torchlit room, with racks upon racks of swords. walking up to a rack, Steve looked over the swords, eventually finding a samurai sword, picking it up, it glowed faintly before dimming. fascinated he took a few practice swings, and the sword felt perfect for him, like the sword was meant for him. sticking it in the sheath that magically appeared at his side, he walked over to Emily who still looked over swords, she was eyeing several of them and didn¡¯t seem sure which to pick, feeling and watching over them all. while he wanted to help her with this, he knew that this had to be her choice, interfering would only make this take longer. while Emily was looking through swords, he started taking practice swings, felling the weight and heft of his sword. he started seeing visons that seemed extremely odd to him, there were drums thumping in the background while soldiers were marching towards a village, their steps were synchronised with the beat of the drums, each step bringing them closer to the town, Steve knew instinctively what was going to happen. Yet he just watched, when the soldiers reached the town all hell broke loose, there were screaming and blood everywhere. He would have had looked away, because this would normally disgust him, but he continued watching, entranced by the display of violence, houses were now burning, and he could smell the stench of burning flesh, amidst the sobs of people he could feel a pull to somewhere, like something was calling for him to move his attention there. Looking over where the pullwas coming from, he could see a young woman on her knees, mumbling to herself, but it was more than that, there was something strange about it, finally realizing it he knew she was praying, she was praying to him. He inspected her for a moment, she had shoulder length black hair, and even though her face was bleeding and bruised, he knew she was a beauty, her body only proved that further. If by instinct he reached out towards her, and when he touched her he infused her with some of his strength. Fight for life There was a blinding light, then suddenly they were in a cavern, holding his sword Steve stepped forward, taking a couple practice swings. I dont even know what to say, the blue windows seams to not like me, but the skill seams awesome so.... yeah" Looking over at the enemies Emily had recently chopped of one guys head while flowing into the next strike and dancing back and forth. Deciding to try out the skill, steve created a fireball in his hand and aimed at one of the last four enemies, who didn''t seam to be in such a good shape. Throwing the ball at the monster it, screeched forward with an insane speed growing larger in size as it neared the crab. With a deafening boom, the fireball hit at the size of a small truck, and the concussive force from the impact threw him backward, as well as Emily, engulfing the remaining four crabs in an burning inferno, and scorshing the ground turning it into liquid lava. skill level up 2.3.4.5...500 Skill learned overcharge Achievement earned pyromaniac For earning a rare achievement, all stats increase by 100. No sooner than she said that a light eveloped them and they there reported again, then the light subsided they were in a new cavern, with yet another monster there. Were going through not over After the light cleared, in front of them in a smaller room they could see a giant hulking giant standing in the middle of the room with two orcs beside it. The giant was at least 10 meters tall with giant bulking muscles and holding a giant club. The orcs looked about 2 meters with corded muscle and both having a rusted sword with pieces of rusty armour pieces here and there like a breastplate and bracers. Looking at them closely a popup appeared. troll with vanguard level 60 and 100. "Okay that just sucks" he mumbled. Getting in to a stance he could see Emily doing the same albeit faster and more elegantly. dungeon challange part two, this is the second part of this dungeon, clearing this will grant you a bonus, be wary though dangers lurk in mysterious places. The first he dealt with quickly by throwing a fire bolt at, incinerating it on the spot leaving only ash remaining, but the second orc had time to cross the gap and got in to range to start flinging his sword at him, but with his split mind and sword mastery, time seamed to slow down around him and he could see the blow coming, pairing it perfectly, after that he shifted his stance and slashed his sword in a fast arch, sewering the arm cleanly off, the orc didnt even have time too scream before he spun around and sliced him in two sewering the top body from the lower one. Time snapped back in place and the arm fell to the floor and the body fell to the floor on two pieces. "Wow, that''s a rush" he said with a huge smile on his face. Emily having already crushed her opponent, walked upp to him with a sway too her hips, having a big smirk on her face. level up x20 100 attributes gained, 20 store points received. After they talked for a while longer the bright light enveloped them again, and they were gone. End to the winner End to the winner They both appeared in a room like before, except this time the room was dark. looking around Steve found that they were still in a cave, however the floor was smooth and he thought he could smell a strange scent. glancing to Emily she just gave a shrug and summoned a light. The room lit up clear as day, showing all the hidden details in the room that was shrouded in darkness before. The room appeared to be 100-meter-long and 50 meters wide, looking up he could see the roof which looked to be 300 meters tall. He had to admit that it was an impressive sight, looking more like a cathedral than a cave, it even had carved statues lined up along the walls, depicting impressive warriors and mages fighting against massive monstritys, if you looked close enough they almost seamed alive locked in an eternal battle showing of their battle prowess for all to see. spells cast and flying towards their enemies with certain death written all over the fireballs and lightning bolts with the occasional wind slash, the warriors mid swing or having hit with undeniable strength capable of shattering mountains. He had to forcefully drag his eyes away from the sight, focusing on the only other thing in room, a giant devil standing over 10 meters tall with bulging muscles, and an aura of royalty around him. however, the thing that was the most terrifying was the cunning intelligence he could see in its eyes. before he could do anything more several popups appeared, flooding him with an unimaginable power and knowledge. my man, the awesome rewards as promised, have been given, use them wisely congratulation for completing stage 2 of the dungeon, 100 points to all attributes have been given with a random skill related to your observed choice of combat skills and magic skill unlocked fire slash fire slash the ability to imbue yore weapon in fire, dependent on the amount of mana used the temperature and damage will increase, at its basic mana amount your weapon will burn with the fires from hell with a base damage of 1000 hp, with potential burn damage and other status effects depending on circumstances looking at the notifications and then to his sword he could feel the power flowing through him, he clenched his muscled and activated the new skill. The sword lit up with flames all over his sword, burning with an intense temperature but not damaging his sword or him. Giving a wide grin, he canceled the skill to preserve mp. His sword caught fire and he also activated split mind slowing down time, in the time he did that Emily had already flown at the devil at explosive speed, because of his level the devil was no slouch either meeting Emily mid-way with a powerful blow from an oversized war hammer, the impact created a shock wave blowing dust away all around them, rushing out of the dust cloud Steve came up beside the devil, slashing at him with an impressive speed, the devil however parried his sword slash with a flick, stopping it cold. the devil was holding them back with ease, suddenly Emily activated a skill and speed up even faster, applying pressure to the devil, taking a step back under the barrage he stared at her with a raised brow and gave a chuckle before also speeding up and attacking with even more fervor. she took a blow to the shoulder and gave a pained yell before glowing red and speeding up more. ¡°attack him with magic from a distance, I can only hold this skill for a short while¡± she yelled between grunts from impacts and slashes of her own. giving a nod he attacked a few more times before backing of, charging his mana, ho looked for an opening, even with split mind, he barely kept up with the fight, he sheathed his sword and formed a fireball between his hands giving it more mana than normal it grew to the size of a bus before he compressed it down to the size of a fist. the ground started melting around him, but with his increased stats, he took the brunt of the fire and continued to infuse mana and compress it. seeing an opening he shot the ball against their opponent and prepared another one. the blast that resulted from the impact threw the devil across the room smashing against the ground, even though the devil took the brunt of the damage the shock wave and heat forced Emily back a few steps. grunting the devil got up from the ground with a grunt, but Emily was already there raining down blows on him, even though he was severely damaged he still defended against the barrage of attacks and speed up himself, scoring a couple hits on Emily, breaking something after one especially nasty hit. Emily didn¡¯t look much better than the devil, though even still with broken bones and bleeding all over she didn¡¯t give an inch of ground and kept up the barrage of attacks. Steve shot another compressed fire ball and watched the devil side step and avoiding it, but tacking a hit from Emily slashing up his side. ¡°shit¡± he said and prepared another fireball, there his previous ball hit the wall, it blew the wall to a million pieces and raining down debris creating a crater with melting rock in it. Emily slashed him thugh the throat and avoided another swing, steve took the opening provided seing that it wasn¡¯t enough to finish him off. throwing the fireball at him with an insane speed, he watched Emily take a step back and prepairing for impact. the devil only had time to twist his head and opening his eyes wide before it impacted blowing a giant hole in his chest and fldinging him back. after he landed he looked down at his chest and gave a low chuckle, before looking up at them both, chocking on his blood he said thrugh gasps of air. ¡°welcome. ¡°Hough¡± to the knights¡± then he fell to his side, dead even before he landed. a blast of light washed out from his corpse, healing them and teleporting them away. then they arrived back in the loby to the dungon, he ran over to Emily checking her over and embracing her. ¡°I¡¯m fine, upon completing a dungeon you get healed, thanks though¡± she said with a content smile on her face returning the embrace. steping back he checed on his notificasions. congratulations on completing the dungeon rewards membership in the knights, boost to all attributes with 500 points and one random skill. skill unlooked mana shield mana shield allows for the creation of a shield made of mana encompassing the user or specified target, strength varies depending on mana used. that¡¯s pretty good for a reward he thought. ¡°congratulation upon completing the dungeon and welcome to the brotherhood¡± looking up Steve saw a muscular guy surrounded by other people giving of an aura of strength. level up 200 times. ¡°awesome yeah this is good¡± he said. brothers in arms Steve wondered exactly who these people were, he could guess but nothing concrete. putting his hand on his sword pommel, he was ready to pull at any moment, one of the people behind the presumed leader raised an eyebrow, but did nothing further. Emily looked over at him and shock her head, Steve took his hand of his weapon and straitened up, looking the leader in the eye, unflinching. ¡°well, well, well, you got balls I give you that¡± the leader said with a smirk. ¡°who are you?¡± Steve asked still staring the leader in the eye. ¡°Oh, my apologies, my name is sir Maximillian lockwell, and you have impressed me fourthly.¡± he said with a noble tone. Emily looked like she had bitten a lemon, but said nothing. seeing this Maximillian shock his head and sighed. ¡°a pleasure as always to see you miss goldwell, how many months have it been since we last saw, it¡¯s too long we need to get together over lunch someday to discuss our travels¡± Maximillian said with a tired smile. ¡°no¡± Emily simply said looking away. sighing again, Maximillian turned his head and looked over at Steve before speaking. ¡°well anyways, like I said before I¡¯m impressed with your results and wanted to personally congratulate you on your victory.¡± he said while holding out two batches that had a glimmer to them.Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Emily pulled him away and said simply, ¡°we would love to go to a bar and have a drink but we have things to do¡± ¡°well looks like we¡¯ll have to reschedule guys, apparently, we have things to do¡± ¡°well as I said before a pleasure to meet you and welcome to the knights, club meetings will be in a week, attendance involuntary¡± saying their goodbyes and promising to take a beer someday Steve and Emily walked away passing the same guard as before who gave a nod and continued standing there stoically. ¡°so, what do we have to do then?¡± Steve asked with a raised brow. ¡°we¡¯re going to study¡± Emily said simply ¡°oookey¡± Steve said with a unsure look. they walked through massive halls passing student and teachers along the way, after walking for what seemed like an eternity, but was more likely a couple of minutes, they arrived at another grand hall this one filled with books everywhere, presumably a library, they passed the reception desk, and walked towards an hall with a more ominous feeling to it and darker colored books, Emily seamed unperturbed by this and continued walking, after a while Emily abruptly stopped and pointed towards a bookshelf. ¡°you need to summon a companion, its obligatory, but since you are a new good you need to do it now before classes start¡± Emily said with a slight smile. ¡°ok this is awesome; can I like summon a giant serpent or hydra or something cool like that¡± Steve asked almost jumping from giddiness. ¡°well¡­ you could¡­ but¡± Emily said with a thoughtful look. ¡°but?¡± ¡°well I wouldn¡¯t recommend it, because its only useful in certain situation and pretty useless otherwise¡± ¡°but its your choice so if you want to sure¡± Emily finished with a smile. ¡°o-okay¡± Steve said s bit crestfallen ¡°hey there are so many different things you can chose so don¡¯t be depressed, youll probably find something¡± Emily said while nudging him in the side playfully. ¡°well, okay then where do I start¡± Steve said with a bit more hope again. ¡°just read these books and learn the summoning spell, and then make your choice¡± nodding Steve went over and started reading the books combing through them in about three hours and, prepared the summoning with Emily¡¯s help, all the while thinking on what to choose.
