 Prologue

    The white beard of the old man was flying with the life of its own. The blue sheen of the robe gave the old man a celestial feeling. The vertical slit eyes can give any handsome man a run for the money. In one word the old man could have become many maiden''s dream prince charming but he had to ask such a cliche line "Are you sure you want to fight all three of us at once?"


    "It''s doesn''t depend on my wish, does it?" I asked with a smile.


    "You would have a peaceful life if you just listened what I had told you."


    "Said the one who waged war from the day one." I just hate this human, the human emperor.


    "You people are talking too much. The days of talking are long over." The one didn''t waste any more time.     Scales started to appear on the face of the old man. The beautiful azure colour was shining in the sunlight. The beard started to turn into whisker as he turned into Azure dragon.


    At the same time four orbs, fire, water, earth and wind, started to rotate around the human emperor. Without moving a single finger he sent lances of different elements charged towards me from the orb.


    With a smile, I raised my left hand. Ruby red crystal scales covered it till the shoulder. The moment it touched the shadow claws, the claws shattered like wet sand. The azure dragon was charging towards as I looked up. It stopped like it was trapped in an invisible cage as I raised my right hand, unable to break free no matter how much it struggled.


    The fire lance drilled through the invisible barrier that stopped the other three grazed past the right side of the chest.


    "Ouchh! It hurt a lot despite being VR" The pain surprised me.

 Superhero? Isekai? No I just died again.

    I was laying in my bed, staring at the roof. The dream came to me with a shock. Though most people couldn''t do it, I was confident about my mind and was sure that I will be able to control my dream till the end. It was the first time that I saw a dream that I couldn''t control. It is better to say that it was a nightmare in a way


    I sat up on the bed as I took off the helmet. It was a VR helmet, but different from those gaming ones. The VR-Dream catcher. It could record the dream you saw through the night. Other might think it as a useless device but to me, it is an irreplaceable part of my life. Without this, I would have lost many ideas of my novels.


    The year 2074. The paperback novels were long history. The reading world dominated by the online novels, but it was also becoming an endangered one. Though some might argue that a live-novel could never take the place of a written one, still the live novel was becoming popular with time. I have read some people had the same opinion about the paperback novel when the online novel became mainstream. But that is history now. The live novel is the thing of the future, rather than reading the novel you will get to live it, it''s like dream come true.


    I am Capula Mural. I am a research scholar, going to submit my thesis soon. With a contact from the VR-Dream Catcher Company for Live-novel, I had no need for job hunting. Many people applied, I was one of the few to be selected and given a contract.

    If the lab assistant was a woman then it would have been a deredere. I checked the situation of the eggs first, then the insects. But how can be everything be ok?


    "Which f**king idiot kept the spider cage open?" I cursed out loud.


    [Is there any problem, Capula Mural?] The assistant was quick to respond.


    "Activate both 3d recorder and the motion tracker. Capture any movement outside the cage. Also, put on the UV lights." The spiders were genetically engineered to spit out the UV activated silk. Putting on the goggles everything became clear to me. It''s totally a jungle here.


    [No motion detected.] The assistant concluded.


    ''How that can be? The thing might be hiding in some corner.'' Even before I could move from the place something bit me. With a single thought, a chill ran through my spine.


    ''It must be a mosquito.'' It wasn''t a guess but a prayer. I reached my hand and grabbed it. The moment I touched it I screamed. "Lab on high priority, contact all lab personnel, contact preofff¡­proffer¡­" It was my tongue which gave way first. Soon the other muscles followed. In a moment my head hit the ground but for some reason, I couldn''t feel the pain.


    ''Well, who knows I might become Spiderman.''


    Next time I wake up I was in the hospital bed. I can hear about other talking.


    "Please, doctor do something." I can hear my mother pleading too.


    "The problem is he was there for 2 hours without any treatment. The poison was circulated through the body¡­"


    ''Looks like I am not going to be a Spiderman.'' But for some reason, I couldn''t smile.


    "Ma" that was all that escaped my throat. With the words, the room was in disarray.

I can fell that ma was trying to put the helmet on me. I slimed, at least I tried to. With the smile in my heart, I command ''Connect''.

    ''Where am I?'' It was the first thought in my consciousness as I woke up. I was bitten by the spider, right? This should be a hospital¡­ but something was wrong. I couldn''t open my eyes.


    Are the muscles still affected?


    That might be so, but it surprised me as I tried to move my hand. It wasn''t just the hand, the leg and the body too, I can move it as much as I want.


    Could it be I died and now in amniotic fluid? Could it be like the ''Isekai'' story? Well, at least it would explain why I am not in bed. But I have never heard that a child who could use such reasoning before he is born. Maybe this has something to do about the ''Isekai''.

    ''Why there is no sound?'' That fact confused me a lot.


    Well for the first few days I was happy, thinking about the world I am going to born. Will it be a world of cultivation or a world with a system, maybe magic or mecha. I hope there will be at least adventure guild.


    I even forget about my terrible death. I planned out everything, for endless possibilities. But all went through the drain because there was something wrong.


    For a starter, there is no sound. It is said even a child can hear a sound inside the belly. Well, there is a chance that my ear is not fully formed or I am deaf. Above all, I could move my body without any problem. That''s why I am trying to open my eyes. If I can control my other muscles then I might be able to control my eyes too. It was painful, well painful may not be the right word to describe it but somehow I succeeded. But view made me speechless.


    ''It''s a fucking stasis pot''. A full glass cylinder type. As I looked up there were thin-tubes that were coming from the top, one went into my mouth and I can''t see where the other went but I didn''t feel any pain. Can I be still on earth? In a moment I got the result.


    My struggles in the pod attracted the attention of the people outside. I can''t see the outside clearly but it looked like a human. Form the dress I almost cried "It''s Isekai". Other than some liquid going in my throat no sound came out. But for some reason, I lost consciousness.

    Well, I got good news and bad news for me. The good news is it is actually another world. But the bad news is I am not in a good position right now. My life can be in jeopardy. It''s like some kind of facility and it is not some ''happy go lucky facility''.


    For example, I was in this room whose wall was marked by some unknown creature, with day count marks, dry blood spots and many more. I was fed through the small spot in the door. And the foods are like bread, unknown meats, mushrooms, fruits with some weird effect. One gave me diarrhoea, another gave me insomnia and much like it. One gave me an erection for 4 hours straight. That would have been a pricey product on earth, but believe me, you don''t want to use it. On the top of I don''t understand the language they were talking.


    *Crack*.


    The door opened breaking my train of thoughts. Two people in weird dress came in. It was not weird rather it more looked like leather armour with shamshir hanging from the belt.


    "@#@#$@#$!%%@" they shouted aiming the crossbow at me.


    "Do you guys forgot that I can''t understand you?" Well, I shouldn''t have shouted that out. But after waking up somehow I was losing control of my emotions. It''s not like they could understand it, so they shoot. If I didn''t move at the last moment the arrow would have pierced me.


    Soon we were moving through a narrow corridor with one in front and one behind me.


    It was a shamshir. Not that I didn''t say that before, but it was in a museum and those were old rusty one. I wanted to grab it but the one at the back will shoot me for sure before I could take it out. I am not the spy material who can kill them in a blink, so I followed. Rather than dying I followed the word of master Sun, ''knowing the enemy is winning the war''.


    After about 4 left and 2 right turns we reached a big door. Believe me, the door didn''t give me any good feeling and as I suspected they forced me to enter the room. Soon the door closed behind me.


    It was an arena. Did I become a gladiator? For the starter, I ran straight toward the weapon deck close to the wall. What I took out first was gladius, to be exact a curved gladius and a round shield. I also hid small dagger inside my dress.


    Who knows when it will come handy? A helmet was an all-important of war. Though it was heavier than my expectation, it was necessary. There was no armour so I moved towards the arena with the shield and sword at ready.


    "Ha ha ha¡­" laughter arose through the arena. It colosseum look alike, packed with those beings who were dressed weird.


    ''I don''t look weird, do I?'' Even before I could give another look at my attire the light of the arena gone out. For the first time, I realised that the arena was underground.


    ''Could it be it is legendary [Dark Vision]? Did I really get a skill at last?'' That was my second guess, but my excitement was short lived. There was a pair of red eyes was coming at me at high speed. It was human, a butt-naked one and totally tackled without hesitation.


    Even before I could understand what was happening I was already laying on my back with unbearable pain. The shield was fast to come into contact with the charge, resulting in a broken arm. Then I was thrown into the air. [Dark Vision] was good enough to see in the dark but nothing was as clear as a day. I felt weightlessness followed by a crash on my butt.


    Somehow my thought became clear. Without hesitation, I rolled to left, put my back against the wall with the shield at chest and the gladius was ready to strike. It didn''t even strike me once that how I was able to move my broken arm, but that wasn''t important right now. The important question was where my attacker was now. Without much of a surprise, the red eye was sanding just a few meters from me and was staring right at me.


    "@#$%#$#@@$%#" All his effort was wasted on me. He sighed as he understood that too and raise his arm. Before I could move something pushed me toward him. In a moment he was grabbing my neck. I can see my life flashing right in front of my eyes.


    *Snap*


    He did it. He broke my neck without hesitation. His eyes were like red LED, not a single shard of hesitation.


    ''But how can I still think about it?'' The moment the thought appeared I could feel my consciousness fading away. Maybe it is the transition period. There was a light flash before I lost it all.


    ''Did I just dozed away?'' The moment I opened my eyes I was surprised. I was holding a body by its neck, it was not moving. The body had the same red eyes. But something was seriously wrong about it. For starter, my body wasn''t under my control and for an unknown reason, I couldn''t keep my thought straight. I lost my consciousness again with a sharp pain in my head.


    This time something was different. Rather than standing I was sitting. There was the stinky smell of blood in the air. Everything around me was red, red with blood. The buildings were burning. For the first time, I saw the beautiful night sky above my head after coming to this world. And beneath me was¡­ bodies, dead bodies. Not just one or two, hundreds of them. What I was sitting on was a big pile of dead bodies.


    "Did I kill them all?" I couldn''t help but murmur those words but nobody answered. It was shocking to me that I was sitting on the top of that and I don''t even remember doing it. A moment ago I was dead, now I am the only one alive when everyone else is dead. It wasn''t making any sense. My mind was in chaos as I tried to stand. There was no even ground under my feet, all there were the bodies. I tumbled down from the body mountain. Before I can stop myself I was already the bottom. A child''s head was staring at me with shocked eyes, the body of the child was nowhere to be seen.


    "Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!" with the scream I lost my consciousness again.

 Second Chance!?

    The scenery of that vicious night was still vivid in my mind. I opened my eyes, in the fear of being greeted by the headless bodies and flowing blood river. I was happy that it didn''t come true.


    Everything was different around me. There was a warm bed beneath me with a straw roof above my head, light warm sunlight was coming from somewhere and a flowery scent in the air.


    Might be the good isekai life came to me on the second chance. I didn''t even want to think about the first one. I might have died that night, but somehow I was relieved. Understanding the situation comes first, for now, I didn''t want to make any mistakes again.


    As I moved my hand, I turned speechless. Not that I could speak but It was a child''s fist. I was a child, well at least that explains why couldn''t I move my body freely.

    ''It was fucking embarrassing.'' I was picked up by a man of the same age if I calculate all my life I remember. That all went out of my mind when I saw the woman in front of me. One word, ''Mesmerising'', nothing more, nothing less. I envied this man to the bone. He made this beautiful woman pregnant.


    ''What the hell I am thinking about?'' they are my mother and father. There is no reason to envy them. Sometimes I couldn''t understand my own emotion. And there was a problem. By the look of it, I was not even 2 months old. The colours were not clear to my eyes so it''s not even 3 months. And by the look of the belly the woman she would have given birth within 1-2 months.


    It was not even 1 whole month and it was proven true. For now, I can be sure that I was not from their blood. Not like that was a matter to me. Whether real or adopted, God, at last, gave parents to me and I was happy about that.


    10 years later.


    "Brother is back." A little girl came running as Father and I approached the house. Her hair curled neatly in the blonde braids. It was not that she was naturally blonde, rather her hair was little peculiar according to me. At the root, the hairs were blonde but at the tip it was black.

    "Don''t worry mother we will come back soon." With the shout, I increased my speed. That''s right, tomorrow will be my coming to age ceremony. The day after which I could take a wife. Though mother and father already know about it and Amori was willing still I want to propose her.


    "Damn!" I couldn''t help but curse out as light rain started. The place was at the cliff. A beautiful place right at the outskirt of the forest. It was our secret place, a place where I first kissed her.


    After we turned 12, we had to sleep in separate rooms. It was natural. So this was the spot where we naturally meet. This place has the best sunset view. But she never gets to see it.     The claw took out the heart and put it inside the hole in her chest. The veins slithered like snakes, attaching themselves with her body. She started to go into spasm. Slowly the heart started to bore itself inside her body and the wound started to heal all by itself.


    ''What am I?'' living without a heart. Even my heart was like a living thing.


    "If you live long enough then you will know." I was going ask the voice more, but as the voice faded the immeasurable pain kicked in.


    "Ahhhhh" The pain of the heart ripped out of my body made me believe that I am human after all. I was running like a headless chicken and that became the reason for my downfall.


    The heavy rain made the edge of the cliff brittle and with the movement the result was imminent. I fall into the sea. I died again, so I thought.

 The Broken System

    ¡®Where am I?¡¯ The place is damp, and the rocking movement means I am not on land and then there were prison bars. A small space confined by bars by 3 sides and wood at the back.


    There was movement in the cell right beside me. The girl was gagged. One of the men was holding her down, while the other one doing it. It was rape

But the long shamshir was not suited for the naval battle and the top of that their dresses looked more like a businessman than a pirate.


    The ship looked like galleons. And the flag on the top of it was a white one, underneath was a blue one with lion¡¯s face on it and at the bottom was the black one with a seagull. I don¡¯t know the meaning but doesn¡¯t seem like it¡¯s a pirate flag.


    ¡°It¡¯s not the time for sightseeing. Madam is waiting for you.¡± With the words, they forced me into the room. There was a woman with black cat ears. It was my first time seeing a beast-people but what surprised me most was the cat ear woman was sitting there with another human between her legs.

Those scales were like a metal plate that was a size of a human head. It was stacked over each other. It was like a giant armadillo with a long thick scaled tail.


    ¡®No matter what I have to escape.¡¯ His sense was screaming inside his head. But before he could move the army started to close in. He bypassed the army and ran out of the square. He hit an invisible barrier before he could step outside the square and only to fall on his butt with his nose bleeding.


    There were people with a peculiar dress, standing just outside of the barrier. By the looks, it was not wrong to say they are cosplayers. One of them was most eye-catching. The dress contained every shiny colour of the planet. He had a peacock blue colour hat on his head. On the hand, there was a spine of an unknown small animal with skull still attached to it. With contrast to him, the other one was totally grey except the weirdly shaped branch they were holding.


    The magic circle had dried out leaving a burnt mark on the paved square. The intruders had assembled themselves into formation with the scaled beast at the centre. Four 8X8 formations formed on the four sides of the beast.


    ¡°I have never thought that even at the edge of the empire you people will prepare such a welcoming party. No one can match the grandness of the Krounen Empire.¡± The words felt sarcastic.

    Even with perfect execution of the order, there was still something missing from it. After 8th round arrows the first one fall on the left flank. Within 2 rounds 2 more fell. But the enemy was well trained too. Whenever one in front fell the one at the back took its position. They weren¡¯t having any problem. By 15th round with only 8 casualties, the situation reached stalemate again.


    Just as Kinoya was thinking about the next step his danger sense was tingling. He moves along the wall. On the next moment 8 arrows hit the spot he was hanging from. Someone from the ground shouted in surprise.

The enemy soldiers were constantly rotating themselves stopping other from getting tired. The Empire army was strong but he could feel that the longer it will drag harder it will be for them to win. He can¡¯t concentrate the situation while running from the arrows aimed at him.


    On top of that, he couldn¡¯t mobilise the swordsman carelessly. He got a feeling that as soon as he will send the swordsman to fight the beast tamers will release the beasts. Even if they don¡¯t do that with a longer scimitar the empire¡¯s man will be at disadvantage against the short gladius holders.


    The more he thought about it the more pressure he felt. It was not like the game or the movies. The reality was totally different from those. Here he won¡¯t get a second chance like in the game, nor will the enemy let him go if he lost. Not everybody could bear the weight of others life. He had to think of something otherwise the whole formation will collapse from fatigue. The observed the field once more.

Not just the enemies even his own people were stunned, but they didn¡¯t waste any time. The swordsmen were quick to lay on the ground. The archers who were aiming upwards didn¡¯t miss a single breath turned towards the hole. They showed Kinoya the fastest archer rotation. In 10 seconds they shot almost 100 arrows almost emptying the quivers.


    The enemy could hear the order too. How can they just stand there and take attack head-on? They were ready to go back in the formation with a moments notice and so they did. Alas, it was already too later.


    Within a moment almost 10 enemies lost their lives, 5 more was wounded. But even before they could recover, another command came.


    ¡°PUSH. Swordsman advance along the wings.¡± Kinoya shouted on the top of his lunge and they compiled. With the assault along the wing front row of the enemy line crumbled reducing the number of the enemy by another 10. Before a smile could appear on Kinoya¡¯s face the beasts charged in, with the tamers backing up with arrows.

    Korai was one of the generals who were present from the birth of the corps, was slow but steady better known for his defensive attitude. Contradictory to the all offensive status of the ¡®The Red corps¡¯.


    Korai nodded his head as he looked around. The path through the forest was littered with the bodies. Bloody spots were all over the places. It was a merchant route, so it was quite natural to have bandit here. But they usually avoid doing such a bloodbath in open.

    The front of the supply station was too crowded, filled with big muscled men. Some were wearing red armour while the others were wearing the blue one with snow-peak mountain symbol. The number of blue armour was far more numerous than the red one but that didn''t mean anything to Kinoya.


    He went to the supply counter and showed the badge. The person inside the counter was a little surprised when he saw Kinoya. Actually, the people around him was too big and they were old enough to have Kinoya as a child.


    ''This child must have some background or have immense talent.'' Without hesitation, he pulled out a good beast leg with a bag of rice. But not all was as clever as this man. As soon as Kinoya gabbed it another hand hold the beast leg.


    "Who lost a kid? I fished out a kid with my food." The man was over 6 feet tall with muscles bulging all over the body. He was smiling with his pure yellow tooth while looking towards Kinoya. "This is no place for a kid, boy you should go and send your father back."

    Kinoya already released the grip on the leg. The man was on his knees but was still agile enough to swing his arm.     The man stood up, holding the leg in left hand he took out the sabre. The temperature plunged. Kinoya felt chill his spine, the pressure was high enough to make him faint, but he persisted.


    ''There was no way it could originate from him.'' He looked around to find the source. All of sudden the chill intensified. Everything around him stopped in a breath.


    A smile greeted him. A chilling but beautiful smile. Kinoya couldn''t control his body anymore as the woman moved toward the man who has a handy turned into a statue, a stink was originated from him. Not even the wind was blowing, the woman moved and patted on the cheek of the man. "You shouldn''t bully a child."
