《The Gods' Arena》 Chapter 1 - A Second Chance at Life but this Time with Superpowers! Inside a room, what looked like an 18-year-old man/teenage boy was sitting on one of the only objects in the room; the bed. His blonde hair was short and swept to the side with both the back and sides shaved incredibly short. He was currently leaning on his hands, his crimson red eyes gleaming with excited lights, but overall his mind was obviously somewhere else. This man''s name was Jason, his last name didn''t really matter, and on Earth, he was a fighter/killer for Hire. He worked with many, many gangs, being used to fight for each gang because of his ''talents''. Since Jason could walk, all he''d ever known was fighting, fighting and even more fighting. He didn''t have many social skills and his skills with money were even worse, he wasn''t too bright neither. But the last part was because of his lack of education, generally, he was pretty perceptive, picking up on things quite easily. Anyone who really knew him wrote it down as him relying on his instincts like the animal he was. Jason didn''t mind it, it was only a joke and frankly, he agreed, he was relying on his instincts. Because of these instincts he developed, his lack of social and monetary skills was not too detrimental to him in modern society because his talent in fighting allowed him to get known by many gangs and their money continued to flow into his bank account. Despite this, he wasn''t invincible, as proven right now as he was dead, sprayed down by one of his previous employer''s death squads in his own house. When he next opened his eyes he was greeted by a giant figure and was surrounded by a lot of people like him; confused people. The figure introduced itself as a representative of the Gods and honestly, most people believed it. With the number of stories of this manner on the internet, most people were open to this kind of announcement as long as it seemed probable. And there was no more proof needed than being killed and waking up in front of a 4m tall pure white figure, and before you knew it you''d believe in Gods as well. It wasn''t that much of a stretch when you experienced it first-hand. He and the 99 other people in front of that Gods Representative were informed that he would gain 3 powers/abilities and have to play a part in the Gods Game for their entertainment. At first, the teen wasn''t too happy but as soon as he thought about getting powers and being able to sate his appetite for violence, he didn''t care about it anymore. What would he do if he didn''t take the chance? Die and give up his second shot at life? After having the bestowal of powers explained, which were pretty much randomly picked and distributed, everyone was sent to a room and told to wait until their powers were given to them. They were told that once their powers were bestowed to them, they would be instantly transported to their new world which would serve as a battleground for their fights. Their future fights were part of the ''game'', you had to fight when the Gods organized a match for you but you could still kill another player outside of an organized fight if you really wished to. Back to Jason sitting in his room, he had closed his eyes and lay back on the bed a while ago, feeling pretty tired after experiencing his death and then meeting a representative of God all in one(?) day. But his eyes sprang open as he felt a flash in front of his face. Opening his eyes, he let out an excited sound as he shot up to read the screen''s information. Congratulations Player Jason, you have picked to participate in The Gods'' Arena No#1451. Your powers have been decided, please enjoy them. POWERS GAINED: -Chimera M.O. Operation Physiology (Permanent change, no medicine required. Random Bases will be used.) -Accelerated System Development -Aerokinesis You will be moved into your new world with your own body. However, your body will be aged down to 14 years old to give your powers time to integrate with your body. Good Luck, you will be transported now. This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author''s work. Before Jason could say anything, his vision went black. By the time Jason opened his eyes again, he felt his body morphing. Twisting and turning into something new, something better. Jason tossed and turned as he felt his body changing but didn''t cry out despite the pain. The pain mainly came from what he suspected were his Bases awakening. He knew the show they came from; Terraformars. A pretty serious anime filled with gore and death where Cockroaches, sent to Mars in order to Terraform the planet for Human use, evolved into humanoid creatures of inhuman strength and speed and just like how most humans held inherent disgust for cockroaches, these Roaches held the same inherent hatred for all Humans. A few missions went to Mars with the first one being BUGS I, who didn''t know about the Roaches who were called Terraformars. They were all killed because they were normal humans against 2m tall, roach men who could rip humans in half with their bare hands. The way Human''s countered this was by splicing Human DNA and Insect DNA, this resulted in Bases and men and women who could hold the abilities of Insects but scaled up to Human Size. Jason always liked the manga/anime and found the abilities fascinating. A human with the strength of a common ant would be able to lift 50 times his own weight. A Human-sized ant couldn''t do this because it''d collapse under its own weight and it wouldn''t be able to get enough oxygen to its lungs but we''re talking about a human here, not an Ant. Plus it''s a manga. Jason had just found out Gods exist, so why couldn''t this little bit of weird ''science'' just work for now? Currently, Jason discovered that having this permanent transformation wasn''t going to be easy. In either the short term or the long term. The short-term because; Goddamn, the pain hurt as the transformation was much more in-depth compared to the Operation in the Show, down to his very genetics, changing them and introducing his Human DNA''s new playmates. ( Author Note: Long Term problems will be discussed next chapter~ ) Jason felt his muscles change. Weirdly he could feel the different muscle types being introduced to his body. He felt the weaker muscles which were his original human ones, these muscles only had one thing going for them; Endurance. Then he felt a type of muscle which were incredibly dense and seemed to hold herculean strength. After they set in, he felt another type spring up. This type seemed focused on extreme speed and explosive power. All these three muscles started to tangle together which was an excruciating experience for Jason but he could still feel each individual type. Slowly, however, they started to merge their best traits together. Endurance from his Human Muscles, the massive strength from the dense muscles and then the extreme potential for speed and explosive power from the last type. In the end, Jason was left with a muscular system of what could be seen as perfection from an evolution standpoint. Jason would also see it that way if it weren''t for the rest of the changes happening. His bones and skin seemed to be getting reinforced and compacted, increasing their density and therefore the durability of both of them. Then his Organs were reinforced - which felt like a rabbit had been let loose in his body. After this long and painful process, Jason could finally open his eyes. He was momentarily shocked by the clearness of his vision and his other sense that weren''t clouded by pain anymore. He was only momentarily shocked because he saw a screen in front of him and dropped his shock for excitement as he wanted to know what Bases he got. Congratulations, you survived the Chimera M.O. Operation Physiology awakening! You awakened the Arthropod Base Heteropoda venatoria, otherwise known as the Huntsman Spider (i) You awakened the Insect Base Paraponera clavata, otherwise known as the Bullet Ant (i) You awakened the Insect Base Pachyrhynchus Infernalis, Part of the Weevil Family (i) Accelerated System Development Trait has been added successfully! (i) Aerokinesis Ability Added to Player (i) Looking at his bases, Jason could help but shake in excitement. He went to click on the (i) for each of the bases and additional abilities he''d gained but a screen popped up in front of him before he got the chance. Each of your powers has been given to you now, train with them, fight with them, entertain with them. Your powers can go past the limits they have in the shows, you just need to put in the effort and you''ll break through the limits. It would be wise to know that you don''t have your powers at full capacity either, you have about half of the power that they had in their first seen appearance whether it be in Anime or in a TV show and some of you may even have less depending on your powers'' peak level. In 3 months, dungeons will be opened for you Players to train in. For now, train the forests we''ve given to you. Each of you has a personal forest fit with enemies meant to push you to your limits. Good Luck, Players. Signed, Job, representative of the Gods. Jason''s earlier excitement about his powers waned a bit when he realized he didn''t have his full, 100% capacity but he soon shrugged it off when he remembered he loved to train anyway. Standing up, Jason did a few stretches with his new body, feeling the power coursing through it, seemingly unending. His flexibility was much higher than what he remembered and thanked the Gods that they''d given him powers. Jason then turned to the (i)''s next to his powers. Chapter 2 - The Forests Inhabitants The Huntsman Spider Base gives the user extreme speed, incredible sensitivity to air currents and movements around the user and also an untamed ferocity when it comes to fighting. Reflexes and Reaction Time, even Visual Acuity, are enhanced massively to keep up with the speed of this Base. Current Lv: 1. The "Bullet Ant" Base gives the user extreme strength. Users usually develop more muscle mass as this Base promotes muscle growth. Current Lv: 1. Pachyrhynchus Infernalis gives the user extreme durability and a minor increase to both strength and speed. Skin and Bones will have a thin, invisible layer of protective coating on them while also experiencing a reinforcement themselves. The end result is the prior mentioned extreme durability. Current Lv: 1. Intense Emotions/Desires can lead to further strengthening of a Base by allowing more DNA to splice with the Player. Beware, too much splicing can fully destroy the Human side of the Player. Jason felt excitement bubble up once again from his core as he looked over the information in front of him. He remembered the characters from the manga who used these Bases and the one Terraformar who used Pachyrhynchus Infernalis'' Powers, and they were all incredibly strong. Marcos E. Garcia with his Huntsman Spider Base was near untouchable by any and all roaches who tried to run at him. His speed, plus the strength enhancement the Base gave him, allowed him to use his inertia to a devastating degree. The only problem with this Base was that the Huntsman spider didn''t have much stamina/endurance but Jason figured his Human muscles, that had spliced in their Endurance for his new muscles, would solve that problem or at least help lessen the problem. Donatello K. Davis and his daughter Michelle K. Davis both had the "Bullet Ant", or Paraponera clavata, Base and they flung the Terraformars, creatures that could rip apart groups of Humans with relative ease, they flung them around like an empty sack of potatoes. Pachyrhynchus Infernalis was only really seen used by a Terraformar, aka a Roach, but it still showcased it''s strength well enough. This specific base gave the user an incredibly thick carapace around their body which would be incredibly hard to scratch, let alone damage. The more he thought about it, the more Jason truly felt like a kid again. ''Extreme speed, Extreme strength, and Extreme Durability. And they can all be ranked up! Hahaha! This is all going to be so much fun!'' Jason started cackling as he stood there. Well, until he heard it. "Johj!" a deep voice said right behind Jason, causing him to stand stock-still in a mix of fear and surprise. Slowly turning his head, Jason saw something he never thought he''d saw but now he thought about the message from Job saying the forests were personalized for each of them, this specific enemy made sense. Standing behind him at around 2m tall, a shiny brown carapace covered creature looked down at him. It was distinctly humanoid and looked like a tall, incredibly buff man. But it''s face was what gave it away. It had perfectly circular eyes which seemed almost blank if it weren''t for the slight flicker of intelligence in them. The carapace between it''s nose and the top lip was longer than what seemed normal to a human, making its face look quite long. It had slightly thick lips and very human-like teeth, currently it''s face was emotionless apart from the curiosity on its face as it looked at Jason. Jason had always been a big guy, when he hit 12 and 13 he had massive growth spurts and in his 14-year-old body, he was taller than most men at 189cm tall but in front of this thing, he felt small. This was a Terraformar. "Johj!" "Johj! Johj!" And it had brought friends. ''Wonderful.'' 5 of them to be exact. 2 of them were quite vocal when they came out of the bushes but the other two were quieter. The ones who were more vocal seemed to be bigger and have more muscle mass while the quieter ones seemed more intelligent. Jason slowly turned around, looking up at the Roach in front of it. Something in him ached to destroy it and another part seemed scared of it because of what he''d seen these things are capable of. They were all holding stone clubs which all looked to be over 1m long and thicker than a human''s arm at the grip and thicker than a human''s thigh at the thickest part of the club.If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. *Whooosh!* Suddenly, the Terraformar in front of Jason swung it''s club down at him, cracking the air with the speed at which it did it. At first, Jason''s instincts went into overdrive, scared he was about to die and willing to do anything to stop it from happening but when he looked at the incoming club he noticed something; it was going so slowly. Jason seeing this knew that his worries were just him not knowing his own power. Stepping to the side of the club, it sailed past him and hit the ground with a massive boom. The Terraformar looked up at Jason with a slight confusion in its eyes, it was beginning to feel a feeling it hadn''t felt in a long time. Jason''s smirk intensified as he fluidly stepped into a stance that kept him grounded and he swung his fist up with devastating speed. The fist impacted the hard shell of the Roach and the soft and human looking hand simply crushed the shell. The hand cleaved through the shell like a hot knife through butter. A sickening crack echoed throughout the surroundings, similar to multiple eggs breaking at the same time. The other roaches were looking in confusion at the Jason who was still drilling his hand into their brethren''s head. One of the bigger ones crouched down into a sprinters stance and shot toward Jason, seeming to teleport right next to Jason. But Jason was unperturbed and simply put more power into the fist currently breaking the roach in front of him. The added strength was the straw to break the camels back and the head flew straight up, coming clean off the Terraformar''s shoulders. Turning slowly, Jason saw the bigger roach running at him. It didn''t appear slow to him, more like an actual sprinter running at him but still, that was easier to deal with than what normal people would see; instantaneous travel. Jason got into a sprinting stance of his own and charged at the bug himself. Cracks spread from a small crater he''d left setting off and another cracking sound was heard, again, similar to what eggs getting broken sounds like. Jason had his arm punctured right through the bug''s chest. His hand was covered in a yellow goo which was quite sickening to look at but he didn''t seem bothered as he looked up at the roach''s face. A small trickle of its blood came running out of its nose, ears, and mouth. Jason saw fear in its eyes and smirked, the part of him aching to destroy it relishing in the fun of the hunt. As he pulled his arm out of the hole he''d created, the roach tried to jump backward. Obviously, Jason stopped it but not by normal means. Jason had grabbed the upper part of the hole with one hand and the bottom part with his other and got his grip nice and tight, digging into the creature''s flesh and carapace. The other roaches just stood there, watching. The occasional ''Johj!'' and insectoid clicks were all Jason could notice from them, they seemed to be learning about him as he fought. ''Well, they wanna learn something, then why don''t they learn about this...!'' Jason strained his upper body muscles and felt his blood rush around his body supplying energy and power to his obscenely strong muscles. The shell around the hole continued to crack further and further as more strength was put into the effort of ripping the Terraformar apart. The Terraformar wasn''t taking this lying down either, as soon as the cracks got bigger, it had latched its hands onto Jason''s muscular forearms and start trying to pry his hands out of the hole. So Jason was both trying to break some thick and strong carapace and rip a 2.1m tall creature in two, while the creature also desperately tried to stop him. The challenge excited him. Something deep inside him, whether he''d always been like this or because the bug DNA had given him some new instincts, but regardless he felt elated when he proved he was better than the roaches. When he killed the other one earlier, with relative ease, he felt his body release a concoction of chemicals which made him feel like he was on cloud nine. And he wanted to prove he was better some more. "Arghhhh!" Jason let out a strained roar as he pushed his new body to its limits. Somewhere deep inside him, there was a small, round organ that started to release some chemicals as he strained himself. These chemicals powered his need for more strength to finish off the roach in front of him and the other 3 behind it. *Crack* The shell on its chest looked fragile at best and Jason''s veins were protruding and wiggling like small worms, his muscles bulged as he put one last push into it. *Crack! Snap!* The roach''s chest, shoulders along with the arms and head flew off the roach''s lower half spraying yellow/green-ish all over Jason''s arms and face. Along with his predatory grin, Jason looked positively monstrous. The intelligent roaches instantly spread their wings and went flying into the air. Jason wasn''t going to let them go easily. Using his new muscles made for explosive power, Jason shot forward to one of the roaches and ripped it''s head clean off, with surprising ease even to Jason. Looking at the head in his hands, Jason smirked; he was getting more powerful the more he got used to his powers. Using the body of the roach he was currently standing on, Jason pounced at the other roach who was 3m in the air already and instantly ripped his arm off and slammed it into its head with his inhuman strength, using the arm as a club. Before the bulky Terraformar could even react, it was on its own against an opponent it knew it couldn''t beat. So it tried to run. Emphasis on ''tried''. Jason shot onto it''s back and started using his incredibly durable hands as clubs, smacking the utter shit out of the back of the bulky terraformar. It didn''t take long for the banging sounds to become cracking sounds and for them to finally become squelching sounds. The bug dropped to the floor, missing it''s entire back carapace. As the roach was twitching on the floor, Jason decided to go find a place where he could wash and look at his other powers. Chapter 3 - Powers and a Surprise Jason didn''t have to look far for a water source and stripped himself and jumped in after checking the surroundings for Terraformars. The small lake Jason was currently in was about waist height for him so he didn''t worry about any ambushes from under the water, the water was also crystal clear so he''d be able to see a 2m tall, insect man if it tried to sneak up on him. As he washed, the water around him was slowly dyed a yellow and green color because of the muck all over his body. It didn''t take too long for Jason to wash the goo from himself, so he jumped out of the lake and lay on the ground with the sun beaming down above him, Jason decided to use it as a drying device as he didn''t have any towels nearby. While he was drying, Jason opened up his powers and abilities screen and clicked on his other abilities for their information. Accelerated System Development Trait allows the User''s bodily systems to grow to be stronger, tougher, faster and better at a much faster rate as the body grows. The user''s body systems, all of them, grow over time as the user ages/matures, making them better than those of other people. Their nervous system, skeletal system, digestive system, immune system, muscular system, etc. all grow better faster as time goes by. This trait as low short-term power but as long as the user can stay alive for a few months, they will see a definite difference between their bodily systems and others. Current Lv: 1. ( Author Note: For those who didn''t get what I mean by this, here''s a simpler way: As he ages, his bodily systems get stronger meaning he gets stronger as he ages. ) Jason looked shocked at this for a minute. He realized how powerful this ability was, especially put together with his M.O. Operation Physiology. His new physiology had given him amped up bodily systems anyway but if this ability improved them, he''d get to 100% capacity in no time and even surpass it if he trained hard enough and had enough time. The physiology had even given him a new bodily system, the Mosaic Organ. If that was improved by the Accelerated System Development power, his Bug powers would explode forward and he might even develop additional powers for his existing bases. Smirking, Jason felt that he had a deadly combination already, he just needed to stay alive and not get killed by some other player. Taking his attention away from the information, he opened his last abilities information. Aerokinesis allows the user to create, shape and manipulate air, the common name given to the layer of atmospheric gases and various compounds (mostly oxygen and nitrogen). Since air cannot be seen by conventional methods, neither can the attacks and derivatives formed by/from it, making it an invisible and versatile weapon that is very difficult to block and dodge. Manipulating Air takes Mental Energy, exceeding your limits has multiple repercussions. From the lightest being a headache and the most severe being brain damage. Jason wasn''t expecting it to be this powerful. He was expecting some serious restrictions on a Kinesis ability because of their unfair power. But for some reason, they hadn''t given him many restrictions other than this Mental Energy but he didn''t think that''d be too hard to raise as it seemed like it was linked with his brain which had received a buff from his Bug Physiology and would grow stronger with the Accelerated System Development power as well, so he only had to wait if he needed Mental Energy. Testing out his limits, Jason tried to control the air around him. A vein started throbbing on the side of his temple as he tried his hardest to grab the air around him but no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn''t do it. Annoyed at his lack of ability to use his power, Jason slammed his hand against the ground next to him, unconsciously using enough strength to create a small crater around his hand. He stopped his mini-tantrum and looked at his hand, wryly smiling. ''I should try to learn to control my strength, can''t go getting angry and destroying my surroundings, without meaning to at least.''The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation. Lifting his hand out of the crater, Jason shook the dirt and grass off of it before sitting still and thinking deeply about what he needed to do. It didn''t take him long before he realized what he had to do. ''If it uses up Mental Energy, that should mean I have to find my mental energy, right?'' Having an idea on what to do, Jason stood up, put his briefs on along with his sweatpants and discarded his goo covered top. He walked away from the lake and toward to the trees surrounding the lake. Putting a bit of strength into his legs, he shot up through the air and grabbed the nearest branch to him. That branch turned out to be one of the higher ones. Jason chastised himself to control his strength better and dropped a few branches and started jumping forward to another tree''s branch. He did this because he wanted to avoid the Terraformars while scouting out the area for a suitable place for him to camp at, because even if he could kill them with relative ease, he didn''t want to attract hundreds of them as he knew from the Manga that their strength wasn''t in individual strength but rather swarm tactics. After running for a while, and nearly overshooting multiple times, Jason was getting more control over his strength and could use it to pull off maneuvers of inhuman finesse, flitting from tree to tree. Shortly after he gained control over his new body, Jason found a cave. He''d be overjoyed if it weren''t for the constant swarm of terraformars coming in and out of the entrance. Clicking his tongue in annoyance, Jason turned around and tried a different direction, not wanting to risk getting seen by any of the innumerable bugs in front of him. Before long he found another cave but it took longer to get here than the roaches'' cave, but yet again, hostile occupants were walking in and out of the cave. But this time it wasn''t roaches, they were a bit taller than the average roach at around 2.1m+ and seemed to have skin instead of the carapace that the roaches had. They were all hulking masses of green muscle, with tusks sticking out of their lower jaws. All of them had long hair, either in the form of braids or let loose but they each had different colors. Some had blood red, some had raven black and some even had light blue hair. Jason''s eyes widened in surprise. ''Orcs! I didn''t expect to see anything other than Roaches in this forest.'' Jason didn''t approach the Orcs but instead turned around and ran quite a bit away before stopping and sitting down on the highest branch of a big tree. Luckily he was covered by the lower branches'' canopy and wouldn''t be seen unless someone was specifically looking for him. Sitting there, Jason started to meditate. Not because it was something he usually did but because it was the only way he could figure out to try and find his Mental Energy. Scowering his mind, Jason tried to clear it and see if he could find this energy but alas, he couldn''t. Figuring it''d take longer than a few pseudo-meditations to find the Mental Energy, Jason decided to mess around with his other powers. Mainly his Insect Physiology. Only because he felt the Mosaic Organ in his body releasing chemicals which strengthened his bug characteristics. Closing his eyes, Jason flexed a muscle he never knew he had. Well, it would be better to say he never had it before. The ''muscle'' he was talking about was him making his Mosaic Organ pump a chemical into his body. Jason''s eyes snapped open as he felt a rush enter his body, making him feel like a hyperactive kid who''d had enough sugar to give an Elephant diabetes. The concoction of chemicals and hormones went around his system in one big circle before stopping. The liquid seemed to soak his entire body in what seemed like a human''s version of plant fertilizer. His muscles felt full of energy and saturated with nutrients to grow, his bones felt clean and pure like they had no impurities and his organs did their jobs, pumping his body along with ease, seeming more vigorous than they already were. Jason tried to flex that muscle again but it cramped up whenever he tried to fully flex it. ''Figures.'' Jason mentally spat in annoyance. He was mainly annoyed because he didn''t have much to do right now, well, other than figure out how he should train but he knew that it was going to be hard to improve his already incredible body, so his ideas on training were still being made harsher and more intense than anything possible for a human in his head. As he was about to get up and try out one of his training ideas, Jason heard something. "AHHHHH!" "HELP!" Two screams of pure terror and fear sounded out not too far from Jason. They were in the direction of where the Terraformars were but Jason didn''t mind, he''d found something to placate his boredom. Leaning forward on the branch, Jason shot forward with a wide, predatory grin on his face as he saw the sudden information in front of him. Hello, Players. The Gods have voted for the Game this time to involve teams. Teams of 4 to be exact, your 4 personalized forests will be merged and some of you may find yourself teleported to different places, please try your best to survive. For those of you who team-up without killing your would-be comrades, there is a gift for you. Jason''s feet touched the floor and he flickered off forward with renewed passion, that promise of a gift enticing him into being a nice person for once. Chapter 4 - Team? Jason hurtled through the forest, using his keen senses to listen out for where ever the commotion is. He knew the general direction from the first two screams but he didn''t know if the fight/slaughter had moved somewhere else after the initial screams. Jason was right to listen out as sounds of fighting made him change his course as he was running. Despite his current speed being incredibly fast, Jason didn''t feel out of breath or worn out and even felt that he could go faster if he really pushed himself. Not that he was going to now, he wanted the gift from Job but he didn''t want it that badly. Nevertheless, Jason''s current speed was fast enough and he soon arrived where the commotion was happening. Two people stood, surrounded by 12 roaches, all of them the smaller, more intelligent kind with wings hidden in their backs. 3 roach corpses were laying not too far from the surrounded pair. One of the people was a black-haired, black-eyed, petite girl. She looked pale but other than that, surprisingly calm despite the scream she let out earlier. She was wearing a slightly ripped high school uniform for Girls in the west, her blazer having a few tears here and there. The man, or better called a boy, had the same school uniform on as the girl and quite frankly looked exactly like her. The only tell that he was a boy was his short hair, slightly manly features and the male uniform he was wearing. Unlike his twin, the boy looked terrified and even seemed to be cowering behind his sister. ''Great, I get twins and one of them seems like a weakling.'' Jason jumped up onto a tree''s branch and stood on it with his knees brought up to his chest putting him into a position to jump into the fray at any given moment. But for now, he wanted to figure out the powers of the two. Looking at the corpses of the 3 roaches, Jason instantly saw that they seemed to be crushed into the ground and one even had smooth holes going through its chest and head. The woman raised her hand a summoned an arrow of water in front of her. This instantly got Jason''s full attention. ''She knows how to use Mental Energy! She can teach me how to as well. At least she''s got some use.'' Jason prepared himself even further as he flexed and tensed up his legs muscles, to dive to her rescue if she needed it. But it turns out that sentiment wasn''t needed currently. The girl flicked her hand toward one of the roaches that took of. She didn''t do it with amazing speed but as if she knew that specific roach would run at them. The water arrow rotated in mid-air, picking up enough speed so it didn''t look like an arrow anymore and more like a spinning cone. The arrow/cone of water acted as a high-pressure water jet and flashed through the bugs chest. To Jason''s surprise, the arrow turned back around and pierced the carapace again and then again, until finally, the roach fell over twitching. Jason was dumbfounded with her control over her powers. ''But that''s a good thing, I need strong people for my team.'' Sadly, that one display of power seemed to completely drain her of power, blood dripping from her nose. The girl looked at the boy cowering behind her with desperate fear in her eyes. Not for him to get involved, quite the opposite, in fact, her eyes screamed for him to run. Jason felt it was time to step in, he might be a prick but he didn''t want to upset this girl for some reason. This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. Flexing his muscles further, Jason practically teleported next to the twins. Both of them were quite short with the girl being 166cm tall and the boy only being a bit taller at 168cm. So it was sure to say that they were intimidated by the roaches'' 2m tall frames. But when Jason appeared in front of them, even though he was shorter than the roaches, every cell in their body demanded that they cower in front of him. If it weren''t for the reassuring smirk on his face, they probably would have. "Sit tight you two, I''ll sort this out for ya. But remember, you owe me." Jason''s voice was full of mirth as he looked at the surprised pair looking up at him. Chuckling, Jason turned around and cracked his neck. ''Let''s see how quickly I can do this~'' Jason pumped himself with the liquid from the Mosaic Organ before he shot off, feeling like he''d been injected with multiple doses of adrenaline. He appeared in front of the first of the last 11 roaches and punched out. His fist blasted the roach''s chest out it''s back and the bug flew backward into the trees. Using his momentum, Jason carried on to the next terraformar. The terraformar saw his charging at it and threw it''s fist out to intercept his charge. Jason snorted in disdain and ducked under the fist before grabbing the arm it was attached to and ripping it from the bug''s body and finishing off the bug with a lightning fast kick which bisected it at its midsection. Still holding the arm of his latest victim, Jason turned to the other bugs and let a feral grin spread across his face. He could''ve sworn he saw the roaches flinch. POV Change - Beth ( Author Note - One of the twins, in case you were wondering~ ) Beth couldn''t believe her eyes as the tall boy in front of her decimated the creatures she and her brother had such trouble killing. At around 1.9m tall and his bare upper body showing his rippling muscles and perfect physique, Beth felt her breath being taken away with every punch and kick or tearing and crushing motion he made. His short, dark violet hair looked quite exotic and mixed with his wine-red eyes meant he gave a unique kind of devilish handsomeness. All these factors paled in comparison to his strength. ( Author Note - His hair color change is due to his powers~ ) Throwing the 2m tall insect men around like they were toddlers, ripping arms, legs, and heads off like the hard carapace was made of paper mache, his power made a stark comparison to their pale faces and inability to continue fighting. Beth looked over at her brother and saw he was in just as much awe as she was over their soon-to-be teammate. "How...?" Was all Beth heard her brother, Anthony, say. She was glad he wasn''t just feeling awe, but also the same kind of confusion as her. The confusion was because they''d just been transported to this place. ''How is he already so strong?'' Beth watched as the boy slipped under a fist being thrown at the back of his head and then whipped his leg around, completely crushing the knees of the insect man causing it to fall to the ground. As it was falling, the teenager slammed his fist into its head, driving its head into the ground with more force. Yellow-ish goo exploded out from the bug''s head, covering the boy''s fist. By this point, there were only 2 Insect men left and they both charged at the tall boy with near-instantaneous speed. Beth gasped as she worried for the boy who was their savior but her worries were unneeded. The teenager stepped forward and intercepted both the bugs, grabbing their faces and lifting them into the air. The bugs grasped and tore at his arms, trying to free themselves but the iron, vice-like grip on their faces didn''t allow for it. "So you two..." The boy started, his deep voice sounding too calm for his current situation. With a squeeze, the boy popped both the heads in his hands, like popping a flimsy water balloon. "...Wanna team up with me?" He turned around and flashed them a smile. Beth thought that if he wasn''t covered in yellow goo and broken pieces of carapace from the roaches, he''d probably be a pretty handsome guy. Beth, coming out of her stupor, turned to her brother who nodded his head vigorously. Sighing, Beth looked back at the tall boy. "Well, Job, or whatever his name is, said we''re a team anyway, so I guess we might as well make it official." She tried her best to hide her shaky voice behind a calm exterior but from his mirthful smile, she knew she''d not done the best of jobs. Before he could tease her, the teenager froze as he heard a voice behind them. "Jason...? Is that you, Jason?"
