《How to become a Demon Lord》 Prolog The Death of Ragen Prolog It was raining. Ragen stood outside of his house. There was still the smell of smoke in the air and some firefighters ran around. He had lost everything. His beautiful wife, his three kids, his house, his loyal dog just everything. He was working all day as a salarymen when the police called him. They told him it was just bad luck. The old house had rusty gaspipes. Nobody in the house noticed the gas and the tragedy tokk its way. Killing all of them. Now he was waiting. He didn¡¯t know on what but he was waiting. Perhaps to wake up and realise it was all a nightmare or just to die and be again together with his family, but nothing happened. It was just raining. One year later. He walked out of a bar totally drunk. This world was too cruel for him. He had no family. After his loss he started to drink like a crazy man, but there was no end to his nightmares. His kids called him in his dreams to help them. His wife stood there on the other side of a river. She always smiled in his dreams until the flames came. The flames burned her body until there just an empty skull left who grinned at him, who mocked him. So he stopped sleeping and drunk alcohol. As much alcohol as one can buy. He drank all day. After a while friends and relatives stopped visiting him and he lost his job. They told him to forget this incident. To forget everything. HOW COULD HE EVER FORGET? He shouted this question at his boss. That was the end of his career. Now he stands in again in the rain. Looking into the night and drinking out of his bottle of vodka. There was no tomorrow for him. He looked down and up. Under him the lights of the city above him the darkness of the sky. He shouted: ¡°If god exists than he is a cruel bastard¡±.Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation. His mobilephone vibrated. A new message. Out of a long reflexe he looks at the screen. It was a message from a person called L. He never heard of a person named L. The message said: Hello pal, if you really hate god, than write your name and your wish back. I will hear it and you shall have a second chance. He hesitated. A second chance for him? There was no way that this message was real. Perhaps some kind of advertisement. But what matters, he had already lost everything. He wrote his name back but didn¡¯t write back his wish. He didn¡¯t know what to wish. He started to think, he wanted his family back and his life in the society. But was that really possible. As he was thinking, another message came in. [Now and only now is the limited time to buy the new Elder Wizard War 3] He sighed and whispered: ¡°I wish my life would be a game like this, then I just could level up and revive my family. Everything would be easily solved.¡± But life had never been easy or nice to him. So he stared at the city under him and leaned on the railing of the skyscraper. In the distance he saw a little light, like a ball out of light. Perhaps an airplane or drone. So he leaned forward to see it better. As he leaned forward his mobile phone slipped out of his hands. He tried to grab it and leaned further until he had it in his hands. At that moment he noticed, that he lost his balance and fell over the railing. He needed a moment to realise what happened and startet to scream but it was to late. He fell directly back to earth. After a moment of intense pain there was nothing but just dark nothingness and rain endless rain. His last expression was a smile. He could go back to his family. Chapter 1 A new life Chapter 1 A new Life He felt warm. He floated in a white space. So did he believe because he couldn¡¯t see anything. He couldn¡¯t even feel any of his limbs. He just felt warm. Then a voice. [Hello Ragen welcome to the afterlife. You have surely a lot of questions. But I can¡¯t answer them all. I want first to say that I am Lazarus the person who wrote you the message on your mobile phone. I have heard your wish. And he will come true.] Ragen, still unsure what to say of think asked. (Is my family here? They are more important than my wish.) Lazarus answered: [No, and you will not find them here. They have all already reincarnated in a new world.] Ragen was shocked. ¡°Is there no way to find them¡±, he asked. Lazarus answered [Calm down Ragen. I will offer you a deal. I need a new Demon Lord in one of the worlds I want to have. You do the job well and I offer you your old life. What you think about that?] Ragen hesitated. What should he do? He knew very well what it means to be a Demon Lord. He had to be cruel to others. He had to kill, to plunder, rape and steal the things of others. But he would get his family and life back. He could see the smile of his wive and kids again. He still asked ¡°Why me? Couldn¡¯t you have found someone stronger, crueller and meaner than me?¡± [No, they all have the protection of a god when they die, so I can¡¯t reach them. You are the first in a while who could meet me in the afterlife.] He had so many Questions. But he knew that this Lazarus wouldn¡¯t answer them all and in the end everything to him was not important if he could get his life and family back. Even if he had to do cruel things. So, he answered: ¡°I will do it, I will be your Demon Lord¡±. Lazarus started to laugh. He laughed like a crazy man who had lost his mind. He laughed until the whole space was filled with his laughter¡¯s. Then his Vision blurred and became black. He didn¡¯t know how much time passed until he saw the light of the sun again, but it must have been long. He opened his eyes and saw a beautiful woman. She seemed tired but smiled at him. She had blue eyes and long dark hair. Her skin was slightly tanned but smooth. She said something he didn¡¯t understand and then another face entered his vision. An edged face with grey eyes and curly red hairs stared him happily. As he was studying the faces of these two persons who were probably his parents, he heard a ding. Suddenly he felt intense pain. A pain he had never experienced. It felt like his whole head would explode at any moment and at the same time his brain would be fried in boiling oil. He started to cry. Meanwhile his parents noticed that their son was crying and felt relived. They first weren¡¯t sure if everything was okay with him, so they were quite worried. Normal children would start to cry when they were born, but he didn¡¯t cry, he looked calm and interested. After a short while which was like an eternity to Ragen the pain disappeared. Another ding sounded.

He waited for another message or anything else, but nothing happened. As he was waiting he noticed that to woman started to lift him up to her chest. He knew exactly what would now happen. He wanted to struggle or to say anything. But his limbs didn¡¯t obey him and nothing other than some baby cries noises came out of his mouth. The woman noticed his movement and his crying. She smiled and said: ¡°My little one, don¡¯t scream. Mommy will give you now some milk, so eat and become stronger.¡± He cursed all the gods he knew in his mind, but it was useless. He had to do it. A little bit later a satisfied Ragen let out a loud burp which let the rest of his pride crumble. Then he was laid into a soft and comfortable cradle. There he became quickly tired. So, he closed his eyes and started to sleep. He dreamed of his family, but this time the dream ended with him smiling. Chapter 2 Magic in a new world As a Baby the time flew bye very quickly. He mostly slept or ate. Sometimes he overheard his parents. They talked a lot around him, so he got much information about this new place. Firstly, his name didn¡¯t change. He suspected that Lazarus had his fingers in this. Secondly this place was nothing like earth. Here governed strength over anything. And this strength wasn¡¯t only powers he knew from earth. There was magic, superhuman strength, godlike wisdom and other things. He knew he had to wait until the time was right for him to shine, but he was sure the time will come. So until then he waited. Six months passed by in an instant. One morning when he woke up he heard it again. The ding sound.
Congratulations you have successfully completed the first quest. Here is your reward.

For a moment he was shocked, but then started to analyse his status. He thought that Lazarus hadn''t really fulfilled his wish of becoming a ¡®player¡¯ in a real life, but he was wrong. Lazarus had promised to fullfil his wish and has made him into a ''player. While analyzing his status he roughly estimated that he was really weak right now. So he had to train and study to become stronger and obliterate the world to save his family and he had to find a way to fight against Lazarus if he betrayed him. He closed the status in his mind. The he crawled out of his cradle. But as he reached the door of his room, his mother came in and saw him. She said ¡°Where are you going my little Ragen, I know you must be quite curios what is outside of this room but the time is not right yet. I have to put you back and now it''s already feeding time. So come to mommy my little one¡± Ragen shouted in his mind NOOOO, not again, but it was useless and so he had to stay in his cradle and wait until his mother was finished with feeding him. Then she did something unexpected. She cast magic on his cradle. She said ¡°Oh great Lord Lamassu protect this place and the person inside it¡±. Then a beautiful little dome stretched itself over the little cradle and protected him. His mother watched how Ragen''s eyes became round and laughed a little. He sat inside his cradle and watched the whole process. He had heard a lot about magic and it¡¯s power but to see it in real life was just too amazing. Player has learned the basic magic skill [Magic Shield Dome]
He was stunned. He could learn the skill by barely seeing it one? Could that really be true? It would be amazing. He waited until his mother left the room than he wanted to try the skill out. Just how? He thought about the words of his mother and repeated them but nothing happened. What was the name of the skill again? Ah yes [Magic shield dome]. He noticed how the mana flowed inside his body but nothing happened. Then he heard again a ding sound and a new popped up.
Player is unable to use the skill [Magic Shield Dome]. More mana is needed.
So mana was his problem. Now he just needed a method to increase his mana pool. While thinking about this he remembered something from his old life. Most of the masters in material arts or other arts of the mind and body had to meditate to get a deeper understanding of the universe. So he thought he also needed to mediate. He sat down in his cradle and started to mediate. He soon noticed the flow of his mana and after an unknown time to him he noticed some kind of mana around him. He wanted to grab it with his mind but it was to thin or too far away for him to reach it. Beside the mana outside of his body he started to notice the mana inside his body. He got a feeling for it. He tried to control the flow of mana inside his body but the result was quite poor, so he had to slowly advance. Another important thing for him was the breathing and the position in which he mediated. All those factors were important for his advance of his mana pool. Right as he tried to concentrate on his breathing he heard a lot of dings.

He was quite surprised with this amount of quests in such a short time but he was pleased. Now he could fully concentrate on his meditation and become stronger. Day by Day. Until he was able to change his fate and his life. Chapter 3 First hunt Chapter 3 When he became two years old he was firstly allowed to get out of the house and investigate his surroundings. His first surprise was that they lived on a island. They lived in a small house near the coast. But what was the most surprising thing for him was the colour of the ocean. It was a blue mixed with purple. His father called it always the lilac ocean. When his father told him story about the ocean, then he had an absent face and his father told him a lot about the ocean. So he always thought that his father was a sailor, but when he asked his father the answer was unexpected. His father was a local hunter. Another interesting thing he discovered was the little harbour town, which lied south from his house. Its name was San Tomas and it was a little town, with a little harbour and few but kind hearted people. He really wanted to go to the town, but his mother didn¡¯t let him go. He was too young she told him. So the time went bye and he came just with his parents outside. They showed him their garden, the coast and the nearby forest but he was never alone until he became 5 years old. Then finally his mother let him go outside alone. It was his birthday present. His father also gifted him a bow out of wooden with a few arrows. It was nothing special but for him it was a gift out of love. In theses five years he had started to love his parents hearty and he sometimes even forgot why he was here. So he went out of the house and in the garden he thought status.

He had improved but was still lacking in many aspects. So now was he chance to gather experience and information. He went out of the garden and into the forest. His parents had told him that in this forest there were manly animals, but if you went deep into it you could find a lot of different creatures. From Goblins to Bloodwolves who are famous to be cruel. Ragen wanted to see them and fight them but he was not a careless person. So, his first target were boars, deer¡¯s and rabbits. When he knew the forest better, he would advance further.Reading on this site? This novel is published elsewhere. Support the author by seeking out the original. Sweat was running down his body and he was restless. He had successfully hunted down two rabbits and a medium-seized deer but now his primary target should show up. A wild boar. He had just one arrow left the rest was used or broken. So, he needed a perfect shot. He waited behind a little bush and monitored a little clearing of the forest. At this perfect spot was a little creek where a lot of animal¡¯s came to drink, so he had to wait until his prey would show up. The wild boar came into the open and went to the creek. Right when it stopped in front of it, he shot his arrow. The arrow flew with high speed to the boar and missed. It had noticed something was wrong and dogged the arrow. And now it stared at Ragen furiously. Ragen just had one thought: RUN! He shouted: ¡°Shit, why do I have to miss. SHIIIIIIIIIIT!!¡± While running he heard how the boar started to catch up, so he had to find a way to escape. A big and beautiful old Tree was in front of him. With no other options he had no choice but to climb that three. So he climbed as fast as he could. The boar on the ground stopped in front of the tree and was waiting for Ragen tom come down. On the tree, Ragen had to calm down and started to wait, but the boar didn¡¯t even twitch with his limbs. The boar wouldn¡¯t let him go like this. It just waited for Ragen to come down and Ragen had to come down, then his parents waited at home for him and if he didn¡¯t show up before the sun went down, then his mother would skin him alive. So, he had to come up with something. The question was just what to do? He couldn¡¯t ask for help, there was nobody near him, nor could he escape, the boar was faster than him. There was just one option left, to kill the boar. Just how should he do it? Right at this moment he remembered something his father had given him. It was a little knife, just a bit bigger than his hand. This was his only option. He didn¡¯t think long before he took the knife out and jumped down on the boar. With a loud cry he rammed the knife with the power of the jump into the head of the boar and won. The boar let out a last cry and then died. Ragen was happy and tired at the same time. Then heard a ding sound.
Congratulations you have levelled up. ''Player'' is now Level 2.
He had levelled up, that was great, but he had to look later at his status screen. Firstly, he had to go back before the sun went down. And he had a long way back with a lot of new weight. Fast did he drag the boar to his little hideout in the forest. It was just a small cave which he had found when he had explored the forest together with his parents. There he had the other preys which he had hunted today and packed it onto his self-made wooden carriage. After a few hours of walk he finally arrived home. Ragens mother hugged him tightly when he came back, and his father smiled and made big surprised eyes when he saw the result of his sons first hunting. He was quite happy and asked Ragen a lot about his hunt. Ragen told him everything except for the incident with the boar. In the end his father taught him how to dismantle the animals. Then he said to Ragen: ¡°Son you have more hunted than I thought, so I think you should come with me tomorrow to the Town and sell your spoils yourself.¡± Ragen was quite happy and instantly agreed to his fathers suggestion. Tomorrow he would visit the town. Chapter 4 The town San Tomas Chapter 4 He got up early in the morning. Yesterday he had forgotten to check his status, so he thought status.

The stats went up quite a bit. He was satisfied. With confidence he left his room and went outside to meditate and train. He used his bow to improve his skills and started to think what was ahead of him. To go to the town was quite exiting, but the main reason he wanted to go was another thing. His father had told him that there was a library, and this library should have a lot of useful information. After training he went at the back of their house and packed everything he wanted to sell onto a little carriage, then he went back into the house and met his father who just had prepared his own things for the market. His father smiled at him and they both started to wander to the little harbour town. When they entered the town and passed through a big wooden gate, he saw the town. It was an old beautiful town which was like the medieval town in history. Most of the houses were out of wooden and stone. Just a few houses had glass in the windows and the door were out of wooden and metal so they were quite heavy. The Street was mostly mud and clay. Just the centre of the town had stone on the ground. In the middle of the town was a big temple and tall building which should be the residence of the mayor. On the seaside was the little harbor of the town. Despite being a small harbor it was quite packed with ships. From small fisherboats to big war ships like frigates. The people wore long robes, hats which were sometimes bigger than their heads and the shoes out of wooden and leather. Some people wore armour and weapons but that was only a minority. The most people in the town were sailors and fishermen. Who wore something similiar to tshirts and jeans out of cloth. People were busy walking, trading, cursing and talking too each other. The atmosphere was good, and the people smiled which indicated that the town was flourishing. The only thing what was suspicious was the amount of guards in this little town. They patrolled through most of the streets and the wall was full of them. So Ragen asked his father: ¡°Dad, why are there so many guards in this city?¡± He looked a bit surprised at Ragen but then answered: ¡°There is a war ongoing in the northern continent and this island has an important position in the ocean which is at the border of one of the involved countrys. So there could be an attack on this island.¡± Ragen knew nothing about the political situation in this world and that was something he had to change as fast as he could.Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website. After a short walk through the town they reached a piazza in the centre of the town. Here were already a lot of different merchants who sold all kind of goods. He saw herb merchants, slave dealers, magic traders and much more. They placed their carriage with the goods into a corner, where already a lot of merchants were, who sold food and clothes. Then his father explained how he had to sell his animal skins and meat. After a short explanation about the methods of selling his father also told him about money in this world. 100 copper coins were 1 silver coin. 120 silver coins were 1 gold coin. 10 gold coins were 1 emerald coin. Because meat was rare in this world it was quite expensive. It costed around 50 to 60 silver coins per 5-pound meat. And the fur of the deer wasn¡¯t cheap too. The cost for that was around 100 to 120 silver coins. Just the rabbit fur was cheaper then the rest. It was around 10 to 20 silver coins. After the explanation he started to yell about his prices and his goods: ¡°Good fresh meat, just hunted yesterday. Beautiful furs, best quality.¡± Even though he cried with all his might the other merchants were louder, and he felt like nobody heard him. But he didn''t give up and used his skills from his previous life as a salaryman. He had always been a devoted worker and that wouldn''t change. Around two hours later, he had sold to his surprise most of his goods. The meat of the wild boar and the deer was sold to an old chef. And the fur was sold to a merchant. With the new money in his pocket he asked his father, if he could go to the library. His father thought a moment about it and then let him go. An excited Ragen walked to the library. It was one of the only buildings in the town which was entirely out of stone and the windows contained glass. The stone had a gray colour and the roof was packed with red bricks. The front door was gigantic, and he was relieved that the door stood open. He entered the building and was amazed. He stood in the middle of a small hall and the whole hall was packed with bookshelves. There was even a first floor which was packed too. A few guards watched the people from the entrance and the books. In the middle of the hall was small counter. An old person with a long gray beard was seated behind the counter and read a book. There were some tables in the corner of the hall. Where some people sat and read books, even some kids. Especially one young boy was eye catching. He wore some expensive clothes and studied his books. Ragen ignored the people there and went to the bookshelves. He just picked one book out of the shelf and went to the table to start reading it. He opened the book and wanted to start reading it, when he noticed something. He couldn¡¯t read it. It was a completely different language than back on earth. He started to panic. How should he learn, if he couldn¡¯t even read a book? The rich boy who was siting on a neighbour table saw his panicked expression and came to him. He asked Ragen: ¡°You can read, don¡¯t you?¡± Ragen looked at him and didn¡¯t know what to say. Before he couldn¡¯t stutter a lie, the boy said: ¡°I like you. You know, I can teach you to read and write if you want?¡± Ragen hesitated, he didn¡¯t want to own this boy something, but he needed information and he never saw his parents read or write anything, so he suggested that they were not able to write or read either. This was his only choice. He nodded. The boy said: ¡°Good, my name is Victor, remember it. Now shall we start?¡± Ragen whispered his name and then watched how Victor opened the book and started to explain the letters. He learned fast and before the darkness of the night came, he already could read most of the letters in the book. Victor was quite pleased with him and said he should come again tomorrow to learn more. Ragen agreed and went back home. On his way back, he heard a cry in a small alley. He was curious what was going on and saw a boy around his age. The boy stood with his back to a wall while two big guys blocked his way. They said angrily to him:¡± Shut up you little beggar and pay your debts or die.¡± Ragen knew he had to do something fast or these guys would do something horrible to the boy. He hid around the corner and searched his clothes for a weapon, but the only weapon he had was his little knife which he had already used in the forest against the boar. He always hid it under his clothes for an emergency. He readied himself and then walked into the alley. Chapter 5 Street fight and Progress Chapter 5 Ragen saw a big bald head who threatened a little boy in the corner of the street with a big knife and a smaller figure who didn¡¯t look like a thug. The smaller one spoke to the boy about some debts. Both of them didn¡¯t notice the entering of Ragen. He just thought for a moment before he jumped in the air and stabbed the big thug from behind in the neck. It was a good hit, but it wasn¡¯t enough. The big thug started to scream in pain and turned around to hit Ragen. If Ragen wasn¡¯t a small young boy then he wouldn¡¯t be able to dodge the attack from the big thug. But with his small stature he was barely able to dodge the ponderous figure. He landed another hit with his little knife at the legs of his opponent. Suddenly he heard a ding!
Player has aquirred the skill [Shadow knife]
He was stunned for a moment and that was a fatal error. The other one who hadn¡¯t acted yet did also take out a knife and rammed it into Ragen. He felt intense pain and collapsed. He thought: ¡®Noo, I was hit. I can¡¯t die here.¡¯ One of the thugs said: ¡°Shit, I think he is dying. Everyone heard your scream, Idiot. Now we have to escape before the guards find us.¡± Both got up and escaped, but before the big thug disappeared, he looked back at Ragen and inside his eyes was a murderous shine then he turned around and ran away. He saw the little boy approaching him. Ragen told him: ¡°Please take me to a healer. Please help me.¡± The boy hesitated and then nodded. He slowly lifted him up and then carried him away. At this time Ragen had already fainted. He had a dream where he saw his family. They were playing soccer together. His two sons Liam and Robert were the outfield players while his daughter was the goalkeeper. He was the referee. It was a funny game. The dream ended, and he stood alone on the field. His two sons and his daughter had disappeared. He missed them very much. Right then he heard a voice. ¡°If that is not Ragen. Long time no see. You must have avoided death by just an inch to meet me. You know I can¡¯t stand to watch you any longer. We have a deal and it¡¯s time that you start to wander on my path. So, I will give you a task. Before the year ends you must go deep into the forest and kill Hobgoblin who governs over the Green Fist Tribe. If you fail to accomplish this task, I will punish you and everyone you love.¡± Ragen who had stopped crying starred at the sky where the voice did come from. It was Lazarus who had spoken to him. He knew he couldn¡¯t do anything against Lazarus, so he just nodded. The voice said: ¡°Good, if you are able to successfully eliminate the hobgoblin I will give you a reward. Now it¡¯s time to wake up for you¡± With that sentence the voice disappeared. Everything became black again and he heard a ding sound.
Player got a new quest: Kill the hobgoblin in the forest until the time is over. Remaining time 7 months 2 days and 8 hours. This is a special quest. For this quest the player gets the double amount of EXP. Rewards: Skill [Domination] will be unsealed Scroll ¡®Path of a Demon¡¯ will be given
Then he woke up. The first thing he saw was a yellow ceiling, then a face entered his vision. It was an old granny with a serious expression. She asked: ¡°How many fingers do you see?¡± He replied: ¡°Three if I am not mistaken¡± She grinned and proclaimed: ¡°He is well and can argue with this old lady.¡± Right after she proclaimed that he heard a crying voice. ¡°My little one. Mommy is coming.¡± Somewhere in the room he heard a satisfied grunt, then his vision was blocked by the huge chest from his mother who hugged him tightly. He tried to breathe but it was futile. Before he fainted, the old granny told his mother to stop strangling him with her chest. Then his father came into his vision and firstly looked at him seriously, as if he wanted to confirm something and then he was hugged tightly by his father. ¡°Son you have done something stupid, please don¡¯t do that again.¡± He just nodded, then he started to cry and was happy to be alive with his family. After a while he heard how somebody cleared his throat and came to his bed.Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website. The person was armed and armoured. ¡°Hello Ragen, I am captain of the guards. My name is Ian. Would it be alright for you to answer some questions from my side?¡± Ragen replied: ¡°I can answer them, but I would prefer it if my parents could wait outside until we are finished.¡± His mother tried to protest but his father took her outside with him. The guard captain asked him some questions about the appearance of those guys and what they did to him. After the questions were answered, Ragen asked the captain what happened to the boy who was with him. The captain told him, that his men found them in the street, they brought him to the old Janet who was a healer. There he was unconscious for the last two days. In these two days the boy disappeared and was not seen again. Ragen was a bit disappointed to find out that the boy left him, but he thought that the boy must have had his reasons for that. Right when the guard captain left the room his parents and the old Janet came back in. They talked for a bit longer with him and he heard that they saw him when the guards carried him wounded to the healer and how worried they were. He smiled to assure them that he was well. After a while the old Janet interrupted his parents and asked them to leave their son to her. He had to rest. The days went by for Ragen as he slowly recovered. But there was a problem and that was the payment for his treatment. His parents weren¡¯t poor, but they weren¡¯t able to afford the price for his healing. The old Janet had to use some quite expensive herbs and a lot of magic to save him. He saw the solution and asked Janet if he could work off his debts. She wasn¡¯t against it but reminded him that it was a hard work which required the mind and the body. As he was recovered, he started to help the old lady. She often nagged about his work, but he put a lot of effort into every task she gave him. At first the tasks were quite boring, and he had to concentrate. For example, he had to wash the glass cylinder and the floors of the building. Then he had to clean the house and sort the medicines. That became his daily routine. As more time passed Janet became quite pleased with his work and gave him some free time between his work. In this leisure time he went back to the library where a mad Victor lectured him for missing his lessons. He had to apologise to victor and he explained his situation. Even tough Victor was quite mad at the beginning the lessons continued, beside the work at Janet¡¯s place. Soon Ragen would be able to read 90 percent of the books he found. Victor was quite pleased to see his self-proclaimed student making such progress. Ragen often read the books now just for himself. He stayed for hours in the library when one day something happened. He heard a ding sound.

He was surprised and pleased at the same time. He immediately tried the skill out. He opened a new book which he just found. It was called ¡®The basic knowledge about magic¡¯. He activated his skill and was shocked. All the facts, details and phrases flooded his mind. He instantly knew that there were 6 types of magic. 2 non-elemental magic, called the dark and light magic. The other four are the elemental magic. There was fire, water, wind and earth. There existed another magic, but it''s not clearly explained and it can''t be used. It''s the legendary chaos magic. It''s neither a element or a light or dark thing. All that the book knew, was that it existed. He didn¡¯t even need to read the books anymore, he just needed to take them into his hand and appraise them. He continued like this and started to appraise every book he found in the library until the night came and he had to head back home. At home his parents told him that the old Janet visited them and asked for him. She had a mission for him. He was surprised that Janet visited his home, that was the first time that something like this happened. Janet was most of the time busy and wouldn¡¯t visit someone just for an ordinary mission. It had to be something very important. They told him, he should come tomorrow quite early to her. Something had happened, and she needed him quite urgently. He meditated and trained with his bow before he went to bed. Before he started to sleep he looked one last time at his status screen.

Then he went into dreamland. Chapter 6 The Blue strangler Chapter 6 Ragen woke up early. It was still dark. He prepared his stuff and then walked to the city. At this early hour the town was still silent and most of the people were asleep. When he arrived at the old Janets house he saw a group of people. That was unusual for his teacher. She normally didn¡¯t accept any quest before the sun was risen over the horizon. He cleared a path in the group and went inside the house. Inside were even more people and his teacher who clearly had a discussion with somebody was running around. He went to his teacher and asked: ¡°What is going on?¡± Janet looked at him and then said to the people: ¡°Get out. I need some time to think and find a cure.¡± The people wanted to stay but after a murderous gaze from Janet they left. She turned around and faced Ragen. ¡°Ragen we have a crisis. An Illness occurred on one of the ships which entered the harbour yesterday. It seems that it is the ¡®Blue Strangler¡¯ and it already spread in the town.¡± Ragen was shocked. He had heard about this sickness. It went through the air and killed the people by strangling them. It started with a normal cough and ended with death because of a swollen lung. So, the people will be strangled by their own lung. The death rate was around 80%. It was catastrophic that it now broke out here. Janet saw the panic in the eyes of her little helper and she said: ¡°Don¡¯t worry Ragen. There is a cure for it. We just need some herbs from the forest and with that we can cure it. You have to gather them.¡± Ragen was surprised that he should gather them and replied: ¡°But why me Janet. Couldn¡¯t you go instead of me. I don¡¯t even know which herbs I have to collect.¡± ¡°No, you can do it. I must stay. The people will fall into panic if I leave the town now. They would think that the illness is not curable and start a riot. No, my dear Ragen you must fulfil this task. I give you a list with some pictures from the herbs on it. I can only trust you. Others would steal the herbs and sell them for money. You are also a hunter, so you know the forest better than the others. I count on you. Here is the list and a map for the locations. Now go.¡± After this serious talk, Ragen walked to the market to buy food rations and some arrows for his bow. The locations were in the inner part of the forest and he would need at least three days to successfully gather these herbs. This location was also known for goblin raids which made the whole thing dangerous. When the sun went over the highest building in San Tomas Ragen left the town and wandered towards the forest. His face was full of worry but also filled with determination. Ragen walked for hours in the forest. It became darker as he went further in. There were a lot of big trees. Double the size of normal trees, these trees were very old and mystical. It looked they speak to each other. Even some light mist was sometimes occurring in this forest which hindered his sight. The wind whistled through the branches from the trees. The air was humid and smelled like wood and dirt. Sometimes he heard a rustling behind some trees and bushes. That made him nervous and he even started to sweat when he heard something like steps. Luckily, he just encountered wild animals and not a single goblin. After two days he finally found the first spot on his list. It was a small hill in the forest with some small rocks. Here he found the ¡®Yellow Bells¡¯ a strong herb plant which directly helps the lungs to suppress the swelling. The only problem was that they smell horribly. He put the herbs in his leather back and wanted to walk back when he noticed a movement behind a tree. He immediately hid behind one of the rocks and watched the trees. Some time passed, as suddenly two green small figures entered his sight. They were goblins. The author''s narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. He had heard tales about them. Even tough they were the weakest of the monsters in this world and they weren¡¯t even considered as demons. They had a stature of kid who was around 12 years old. Their eyes were crimson red, and they wore some furs on their bodies. The weapons of these goblins were very crude but fulfilled the description of a weapon for combat. One of the goblins had a club and the other a small blade which looked more like a dagger than an actual sword. They were quite dangerous. The danger lied not in the individual goblin and his weapons but in the whole tribe. Once a goblin is attacked, it will howl out loud and alarm his tribe. The whole tribe will then attack and that means hundreds of goblins come at once. A lot of ignorant people died through that mistake. He firstly used [Appraisal] on the goblins. The first goblin didn¡¯t look weak. But he didn¡¯t know how to compare them with other monsters as he hadn¡¯t encountered any other monster.

He noticed how one of the goblins stopped and looked around. Then he started to sniff. The second one followed his example and sniffed too. They must have noticed him. They didn¡¯t know his location yet but if they followed his smell than it was just a matter of time. They were too far away for his [Shadow knife] skill, so there were just two options left. Run of fight with a bow. He decided to fight. He took his bow out and prepared some arrows. Then he chose to shoot the stronger goblin first. He aimed at the head and shot his arrow. Immediately after he shot, he prepared the second arrow. Before he even could put the arrow on the string of the bow, he heard a ding sound.
Congratulations you have levelled up. Player is now level 3.
He was relieved. He had killed the first one. When he aimed at the second one and shot, he heard something that let his blood freeze and his heart stopped. A loud howl pierced through the calmness of the forest. It was the [Howl] skill of the second goblin. After that he heard a dropping body. He had also killed the second goblin, but it was too late. Right as he wanted turn around and run, he heard dozens of howls from all sites in the forest. He was so goddamn fucked. He ran for his life. As far away as possible from these howls. But he had to change his direction every second, because he heard a new howl from the direction he was running to. Then he realized it. They chased him already to a certain location they picked to kill him. He had to find a safe way out. As he was running, he suddenly heard a sound which made him hope again to escape. He heard water, perhaps a river. He run into that direction. When he heard another howl directly behind him, he saw dozens of red eyes chasing after him. He turned around and started to increase his pace even tough he was already tired. Then he saw an opening in the forest and ran with full speed towards it. He came out of the forest and stood on top of big rock. Beside him was a big waterfall and rocks, before him was a deep abyss and behind him were the goblins. They cried: ¡°Human flesh. Fresh human flesh!¡±. He had only one choice. With that thought he betted everything on one card and jumped. Chapter 7 A friendly dragon? Chapter 7 The first thing he heard was the voice of an old man. He left the eyes closed and listened to this old man. ¡°You can open your eyes. Your breathing has changed, so I can tell you are awake and now please drop the act.¡± He was shocked to be seen trough so easily, but he opened his eyes. He was in a big cave with torches and pictures of some unknown lands on the wall. He lied on a small bed and in the corner was a big wooden wardrobe. He wanted to run away when he saw that his saviour was not a human being but a Person who had golden eyes, horns on the head and on half of his face was scaly. Perhaps it was demon who wanted to torture him. ¡°I knew you would be shocked, but rest assured I will not harm you. You are my esteemed guest.¡± ¡°Who and what are you?¡±-Ragen. ¡°I am a dragon and my name is Bane Firestorm but you can call me Bane. Now what¡¯s more important is, what are you doing in this forest and who are you?¡± He hesitated before he answered but he didn¡¯t feel any hostility towards him so he answered: ¡°My name is Ragen and I¡¯m here to gather herbs for Janet the healer in my hometown. But I had to jump into the river because some goblins wanted my flesh.¡±-Ragen. ¡°Janet must be quite desperate to send a kid into the forest. Drink something first and then eat with me. I have to ask you something later.¡± He was confused. How come this dragon knew his teacher Janet and what was the relationship between them and why did he help him? There were so many questions in his head. He ignored them for now and followed Bane to a small table where some food and water was prepared. It was the best meal he had in a long time. Normally he just ate some dried meat or porridge. But here he got fresh fruits, some nice stew with mushrooms and wonderful roasted meat served. The meat was perfect. It was good roasted but not dry and it had this wonderful fresh flavour. Like the food from his wife in his old life. Bane saw his happy expression and said amused: ¡°You know I had a lot of time here to improve my cooking skills and as I see you now, I think I have made quite the improvement.¡± After a satisfied Ragen ended his meal he watched what Bane would say or do. Bane asked: ¡°Now I after you have eaten, I have some questions for you. Your answer will influence your future.¡± Ragen gulped, he didn¡¯t want to fight a dragon. It was the first time that appraisal didn¡¯t show him everything and he suspected that the difference in their level made it difficult to see the status of this old man. Bane looked intensely at him and then said: ¡°I know that you used [Appraisal] on me. I saw that you are no normal human. This old man has just some questions to you and then you can go wherever you want.¡± He replied: ¡°I hope you didn¡¯t lie. So, please ask your questions.¡± ¡°Hmm, I have only one question for now. Why do you want to walk the path of a demon lord? You don¡¯t seem to be cruel or sadistic in my eyes.¡± ¡°I don¡¯t have any other choices. I must save my family and restore my old life. For that I have to become a demon lord.¡±-Ragen. ¡°I don¡¯t know with who you made a contract to open up the demon lord path for a human, but I am sure you will regret it later. But if you help me with something in the future than I could help you to advance further. You should know that how you are now you don¡¯t have even a single chance to beat a demon even a lesser one. So, what do you think?¡± ¡°Deal, I need help on my way to become a demon lord and I think I can trust you.¡±-Ragen. ¡°Good, now please swear with your blood to fulfil my request and I will help you¡± ¡°I swear to solve your request, whatever it is. I swear it with my blood.¡±-Ragen. Bane cut his hand with blade before Ragen could even react. He was shocked and angry for a moment but understood instantly that it was for his blood oath. ¡°Very well you have done what I asked you to do. I will tell you later your mission. Firstly, we need to solve your problem at your hometown and then you can come back, and we train. So, what happened?¡± ¡°The ¡®Blue Strangler¡¯ broke out and is now spreading in town. So, he went together with Bane to different places in the forest and collected as many herbs as he could. After they were finished Bane talked one last time to him and told him the receipt for the potion if something happened to Janet. Then he made a promise to come back in two weeks from now to train and increase his powers. Before Ragen left Bane gave him a skill scroll. Ragen never saw one before. It contained a skill which everyone could learn. The skill was called [Poison Resistance]. It would dispel any infection from the disease. He read the scroll and heard a ding sound.

He had improved a bit, but he was still lacking compared to Bane. With that thought he started his journey back to his hometown. He wandered back through the dark forest and even encountered another goblin. But his one was alone and so he killed it. Then finally after five days he was back at his hometown, but everything had changed. There was smoke over the town and on the sides of the road were a lot of graves filled with dead blue corpses. The ¡®Blue Strangler¡¯ killed merciless. As he went through the gate, he saw the empty streets. It was creepy to walk in a dead silent town when just a few days ago you had enjoyed life to its fullest in it. As he wanted to turn to the side alley to his teaches house, his way was blocked. Two figures appeared out of nowhere and grinned at him. ¡°Now now, what do we have here. Our little hero from last time. We heard you survived, but you know what? That will change very soon.¡± It was them! The two thugs from last time. They came back for revenge. Chapter 8 Burn the witch! Chapter 8 He didn¡¯t hesitate and activated his skill [Shadow knife]. The bigger one wanted to hit him hard with his fist but before his fist could even reach him, he had already disappeared. Out of the shadows came his knife and hit the thug in the back, this time the strike was deadly. Without any sound the big thug fell to the ground. Blood was flooding out of the back where he was hit. The other thug trembled and ran away. He didn¡¯t give chase, he had to hurry back and help his teacher to cure the people. Back at his teacher¡¯s house were a lot of people. They were sick or had relatives, friends or comrades with them who had the sickness. After he made his way into the house, he saw lot¡¯s of people lying everywhere and some nuns and his teacher who were running from bed to bed to help the people. At first, she didn¡¯t notice him but after he shouted her name she finally saw him. With a tired expression she came to him and asked if he had the herbs. He showed lots of herbs to her. Her expression suddenly brightened up and she took the herbs and ran to her alchemist laboratory. They finally had a cure! After his visit at his teacher¡¯s house, he went back home and noticed relieved that his parents were not sick. They had avoided the town and his father worked in the forest, so they weren¡¯t at any risk. For the next days and weeks Ragen helped his teacher to cure the people. But even with the herb there wasn''t a 100% gurantee that the person would be healed from the illness and so there were also those who still died. They could save around 60 to 70% of the people but the other 30% died and one of those deceased was a son of a noble. The father, an influental aristocrat saw the guilt in Janets treatment. The reason for that was, that Janet didn''t treat the nobility special and handled them the same like the normal pedestrians. The noble was furious after the death of his son and started to spread rumors about Janet. How she didn''t treat everyone the same and that she used black magic for the treatment. He even went to the local church and persudaded them to do an investigation on Janet. With the help from the underwolrd of the town by spreading rumors and the church which started an investigation the problems started to turn into a crisis. It was normal day like any other. After he went for his first time back into the library to read some books and eventually meet Victor again, he saw a small figure approach him. It was the poor boy who had been attacked by the two thugs. He whispered to Ragen: ¡°Come with me I have something to tell you.¡± Ragen was surprised to meet this boy again and followed him. They walked into a side alley where the boy took out a paper and showed it to him. On the paper stood: To all citizens of San Tomas kill the evil witch Janet who spread the ¡®Blue Strangler¡¯ among us. Seek for Justice! He couldn¡¯t believe it. Why would the people of this town think that Janet had spread the virus? He asked back: ¡°Who spread this leaflet?¡± ¡°They call him the rat. It¡¯s one of the debt collectors. I think you know him. He now works together with some nobles and the church. They hired them to damage the reputation of the healer called Janet. You saved me from him. I am thankful for that. I heard you have killed his companion and now he wants you dead.¡± ¡°Can you help me? I will reward you if you want. I need to find this rat.¡±-Ragen. ¡°I owe you a lot Ragen. So sure, I will help you. By the way my name is Elijah.¡± ¡°Good where can I find this rat? Where is his hideout?¡±-Ragen. ¡°Follow me and I will show you his hideout.¡± Elijah headed to the east part of the town and Ragen followed him. They walked trough small and dark alleys into one of the poorest parts of the town. On the street was dirt and some beggars approached them, but they didn¡¯t stop for them. Finally, they stopped in front of a shabby building near the harbour. It was an old warehouse. Elijah climbed up to the roof and Ragen followed him. Inside of the warehouse were a small group and one person who stood in the middle on small chair and shouted about some evil deeds. ¡°Hear me citizen of San Tomas, the evil witch Janet has spread her black magic among us and soon we will all die. She will target me because I have revealed the truth, but you will spread my word of truth among our people and together we will strike back.¡± He heard applause and calls to kill the witch. He didn¡¯t know what to feel. He was enraged, sad and hated them. They didn¡¯t deserve to be saved from Janet. This trash needs to die. Without thinking he jumped down and attacked the speaker. With one swift strike with his knife he had killed him. The people started to cry but he didn¡¯t show mercy and started to kill them randomly. While he was totally enraged, he heard a ding sound.

He didn¡¯t listen to the AI and continued his cruel massacre until most of them were dead and a few had fled. Then he turned around and saw the face of Elijah who was deathly pale. ¡°Ragen you went too far. This were innocent people who just were blinded. You can¡¯t kill them like this.¡± Ragen remained silent and stared into the wall. ¡°I know you are enraged and angry, but this isn¡¯t justice, this is just cruel. Stop now.¡± Ragen looked up and stared at Elijah and in his eyes was the rage still burning. As Elijah saw the hate and rage in Ragen¡¯s eyes he knew that Ragen wouldn¡¯t stop until he was dead, or his rage was satisfied. He made a disappointed expression and said: ¡°Ragen you went too far, and you know it. Now the whole town will search for the culprit of this. If they find me, I will be dead. I will leave this town and go to another country. You should do the same. I wish you goodbye.¡± With that Elijah turned around and left the warehouse. Ragen waited a moment before he also went home. At home he checked his new skill.

He was please with the results. The next days, Ragen often hunted and explored the forest. He improved his archery skill from novice to apprentice. The difference seemed small at first but in reality, it was huge. He now could even aim at targets further away and still hit them perfectly. Another was his time he needed for shooting. With novice he needed around one minute to reload the bow and aim. Now he needed around 40 seconds. At first it didn¡¯t look like a big improvement but in combat every second counted and so it was quite important. In his hunts he had collect a large amount of furs and dried meat. So he went to sell it. Furthermore, he had heard that there was magic store which even sold some magic books and skill scrolls. So he wanted to pay it a visit after he had sold his furs. When he got into town, he noticed instantly the change in the atmosphere. People were wary and the guards looked like they were searching for something. He ignored it for now and went to the market. After a couple of minutes, a costumer came and wanted to buy some furs. While they were trading, he asked the customer what was happening in town. The person looked first surprised and then realized that Ragen probably wasn¡¯t aware of the situation in town. He replied: ¡°Rumours has it that a little demon appeared near the harbour and killed a group of people. Today is the trial for the culprit and everyone is afraid that the little demon will come back to save it¡¯s master. That¡¯s why everyone is so upset.¡± Little Demon? Master? Culprit? He didn¡¯t know what the man was saying but he felt like had role in that. So, he asked: ¡°Where will be trial be held?¡± ¡°They will make it in public, so the trial is on the main piazza in front of the mayors house. I think it will start around late noon.¡± After that he sold the rest of his furs and then headed in the direction of the main piazza. On the way he spotted the shop with the magic books and scrolls. So he made a short break and looked at the goods. At first, he didn¡¯t find anything interesting there mostly spells for everyday life like ¡®Body cleaning magic¡¯ or ¡®Bread baking¡¯ but nothing interesting. The shopkeeper was an old man who looked at him and then asked: ¡°What¡¯s such a young kid doing here? Where are your parents?¡± He looked at the old man and said: ¡°I¡¯m alone old man and I am searching for some spells for my bow. I want to hunt with it.¡± The old man made a mischievous grin and then asked: ¡°Does this young one even have enough money to buy something like that? Normal prices for such books are around 3 to 8 gold coins. Can you even afford that?¡± Ragen grinned back and opened his pouch. Inside were a lot of silver and gold coins. The old man became silent and nodded. It didn¡¯t matter how old this boy was. He had money and was willing to pay so he was a normal customer. The old man said: ¡°Please follow me dear costumer. I will show you the books and scrolls which you need.¡± He guided Ragen to corner in the shop where some big and heavily books were. They had titles like ¡®Dragon Flames¡¯ or ¡®Piercing Ice Lance¡¯. He thanked the shopkeeper and looked around. There were plenty books, but he couldn¡¯t buy them all and he didn¡¯t need all of them. Around half an hour later he was finished and left the store with three new books and one magic scroll. He went into an alley and activated appraisal and learn.

He was surprised to see that [Tracking] and [Shadow Knife] had improved too. Even his stats had increased a bit and he would soon reach level 4. He left the magic scroll for later. When he exited the alley, he saw a lot of people heading towards the main piazza, so he followed them. The first thing he saw was a small hill which was out of wood and he suspected oil. He had a real bad feeling at this moment and hoped not to see what he was thinking about. Beside the large amount of wood was a small podium. After a couple of minutes, he heard a loud voice: ¡°Dear citizens of San Tomas we are here today for the trial of the witch case of Janet the healer. Our Mayor and thechurch of the town declared her guilty. Her crime was to use black magic to make all the rightful people in this town silent. Also there is a high possibility that this witch is spy from the empire and wanted to spread a deadly virus in town, to kill all the important people. We church will save this town. With my rights as an executioner of thechurch I will execute her now. Bring the culprit.¡± He just thought NOOOOO! How can this be. This old innocent woman will be executed? Because she saved those trash lives? He couldn¡¯t believe it. He was too shocked to move and could just watch how they brought her up and bound her on the wooden hill. Then the priest made a pray and asked if she had any last words. Janet said loudly: ¡°All of you made a mistake and you know that, but I will forgive you. The goddess knows that I am not guilty and so I don¡¯t have to fear anything.¡± Then she stopped saying anything. The executioneer said some last words to person behind him and the had a burning torch in his hands. "The goddess wants this sinner dead and I will carry out her will now." With those words he throwed the torch on the small wooden hill. It went up in flames in no time. Right when Ragen saw the flames he realized it. They really intended to kill her. He shouted: ¡°Noooooooooooo, you bastards let her free. You trash scum. You all should burn there but not she.¡± Everyone looked at him and Janet too noticed him. Before the flames swallowed her, she smiled at him. Right at this moment someone shouted: ¡°That¡¯s him the little demon of the witch. Kill him!¡± Everyone now focused his attention on him and he knew he was in deep shit. Chapter 9 Escape and training Chapter 9 All the people on the piazza stared at him and there was this short silence. Then he turned around and started to run. All the people in the back started to shout and followed him. ¡°Kill the devil!¡± ¡°Kill him!¡± ¡°Don¡¯t let him get away.¡± He ran as fast as he could, but he knew that they got closer. So, he ran into the labyrinthine alleys of the town. The gates of the town were already closed, and swimming was no option for him. The only choice left was to hide himself. He desperately searched for a place to hide, when he entered another small alley, he heard a weird sound and his whole vision became white. A white dust cloud enwrapped the alley. It was flour. Nobody saw anything, not he and not his pursuers. Before he could react, a hand grabbed his collar and dragged him through a small door. The door was shut, and he looked at Elijah. ¡°I shouldn¡¯t have saved you. But I have done it. Now we are totally even with our debts.¡± Ragen stared a moment at his saviour and then asked ¡°Why are you still in town? I thought you wanted to leave?¡± ¡°Yes, that¡¯s still my plan. But the ship where I signed goes in around three to four days. But enough from me and let us concentrate on you. We should leave this place. They will soon start to search the houses to find you.¡± Ragen was relieved and thanked Elijah for the saving then he followed him to a wall. At the wall Elijah pushed on some bricks and the wall revealed a secret passage. Stairs went down to a dark basement. When Ragen stood in front of the stairs Elijah said: ¡°You should stay in the basement for now. After this mess has ended you should leave the town immediately. I know you want revenge, but please calm down and prepare your escape instead of your revenge.¡± Ragen stared at him and started to think for a way out of this mess but there was no other choice then to hide. So, he decided to stay and prepared the stuff to escape. He needed some money, food, daggers and a bow. Elijah brought him whatever he needed. Three days passed, and the people still searched for the little Demon. Luckily for Ragen they couldn''t find even a clue where he was hiding. After the fourth day passed, he could finally leave his hideout. Disguised as a beggar he left the hideout and walked to the town gates. The guards of the gates didn''t take notice of him and let him through. His first destination was his old home. He hoped that his parents were still alive. After a longer walk he arrived in front of the ruins of his home. The townspeople burned his home down and it seemed like they killed his parents. In desperation he searched the ruins for the corpses of his parents, but they weren¡¯t there. It was a bit relieving to know that his parents didn''t die here. Perhaps they could flee from the townspeople or they were captured. He hoped that not the second thing happened, but he had to go back. He couldn¡¯t stay in this place. His only choice to find any clues about his parents was to go back to town. When he arrived in front of the town gates, he already saw a long queue. For an unknown reason the guards were quite alarmed. They wanted to see everyone who wanted to enter the town. That was quite a problem for him. When he was thinking about the solution, he saw a carriage which transported straw. He didn¡¯t think long and hid inside straw. He hoped that the guards wouldn''t search the straw for someone suspicious. It must be his lucky day that the guards were lazy and didn''t search the carriage. Inside the town he couldn''t find his friend Elijah. Elijah had probably left the town already, so he couldn¡¯t count on him anymore. So, he tried to ask people on the street about any interesting things which were happening right now. When they asked him who he was he answered them that he was a disciple of a traveling storyteller. Most people believed him and told him what they knew. The first important thing he found out was about his parents who were capture by some slave merchants. They had already left town and sailed to the southern islands. He felt horrible, he couldn¡¯t save them and now they out of reach. He didn¡¯t know if he ever would see them again. Even tough he couldn¡¯t save his parents now he swore to save them in the future when he was able to save them. The second important thing was about some rumors from the neighboring islands which were conquered by an enemy empire. Now the whole town was afraid off an invasion from this empire. The guards were on high alert and less and less ships entered the harbor. Some rumors even stated that the major of the town prepared to flee. Even though he should feel worry, he felt calm. There was even a small voice in his head which told him that the town should just burn. But now was not the time for revenge. He went back to the hidden basement and took everything he could find. Some coins, dagger, food and a bow. Then he left the town for once and all. He knew the next time he would see this town then it would burn.Stolen novel; please report. He passed through the gates and headed towards the big forest. Before he wanted to encounter his new master, he started to hunt. At first animals like boars, deer¡¯s, rabbits and wolves. He lived in a small cave and tried calm down and sort out his thoughts. Two days passed, and he was finally able to go to his master and start his training. Bane was already waiting for him. He welcomed Ragen and said to him that he knew everything that happened in town. He had seen it with magic. Bane said: ¡°I know how you feel. I myself once lost everyone who was dear to me. But I regained my calmness and took revenge later.¡± He told him to focus his anger and hate on the training and improve himself like this. The first thing he taught Ragen was how to breath correctly in meditation and combat. Even though it looked easy at first, it was quite hard to learn. He needed weeks to master basic breath techniques but after a long and hard training he was able to do it. Bane Firestorm trained him hard and merciless. Bane told him that he must at least train for around 10 years and before this time hasn''t passed he wouldn''t let him leave. Ragen was angry at him because he wanted to save his parents and burn the town down but Bane didn''t discuss with him about this any further. A mad Ragen trained under the waterfall and on rocks and even on trees. Bane gave him missions like hunting down goblins or and a weird species called leaf hunters. Those leaf hunters were small and agile. They were just as big as a child and lived on the trees. They had small spears and shields. One found them in the inner parts of the forest and they were quite aggressive. They sat on branches and waited for wanders or animals to pass by and then assault them. He haunted dozens of those leaf hunters and dozens of goblins. Three months passed, and Bane told him to attack smaller goblin villages. He firstly attacked those villages with burning arrows and then during the chaos he appeared out of the shadows and massacred the rest of the village with his [Shadow Knife] skill. Those training''s missions and the training itself made him stronger and leveled him up. He thought status and heard a ding sound.

He had already reached so much strength, but he knew very well that he was still weak in comparison to the strong leading figures in this world. Alone Bane must be around hundred times stronger than he was. But that wasn''t so bad he still had years to train under Bane. Still many years to become a demon lord. He remembered the quest from Lazarus. This was the opportunity to gather more strength and sped up his training. He already killed many goblins, but he never saw a hobgoblin. That means the hobgoblin must live in the norther forest. The northern forest was much more dangerous then southern part. In the north happened scary things and scary creatures lived there. Creatures like giant spiders or birds who were bigger than he and hunted in big groups. The northern part of the island was unexplored and dangerous. There even some legends that some legendary monsters lived far up in the northern part. And that was also the reason why Bane had prohibited him to go there. He thought that if he could avoid the big creatures, he would be able to hunt down the hobgoblin and get the quest reward. He knew he had to come back in four days. So, he had enough time to make a small detour to a small piece of the northern parts. Before he started his small journey, he took the feather jewelry of the village chief and then turned around and went away. His new target was the hobgoblin in the northern parts. Chapter 9.5 Sidestory Chapter 9.5 A short side story My name is Agnes and I work in the harbour of San Tomas. I have two sons and a cheerfully husband. My husband works like me in the harbour. While I account and control the fish of the fishermen¡¯s fish, he loads goods from the ships into warehouse. We are quite a happy family even though we are not rich. But two months ago, everything changed. Some seafarers brought a terrible illness into the town. We were lucky to not get infected with the illness. My kids and husband stayed at home while I was the only person who went to work. The townspeople were afraid and stayed at home like my family and so the town was empty and felt like a ghost town. But not only were there no people in town there were also nearly no ships in the harbour. On good days there were around 10 big and midsize ships around plus 20 small boats. But on bad days like these there were just some small and no big ships around. All the merchants who heard about the illness left the town. So, my work too decreased day by day. Finally, after some hard days there was positive message. A boy found the needed herbs for the cure and now people started to retake their daily lives. In those days I had lost many friends who were dead. I cursed in my mind the people who brought us this disease. My husband too lost a lot of friends and work colleagues. In the end I was relieved that my family was fine. Yes, I felt bad for thinking like this but that was life. The crisis was over, and our daily lives began from the start until that horrible day. The day I lost so much. It first started with rumours. Rumours about the Janet the town healer. I didn¡¯t know her because my family were not rich like most people of the town and so we couldn¡¯t afford the fees of her. The rumours said that she was a witch who wanted to make money with this disease. A wicked person who hates normal humans. There were even some leaflets in the streets where it was written. I more and more believed these stories. I got angry at this witch and my family too felt anger. One day my husband went out with some friends to attend a speech of one of the victims and a witness of her crimes. I still had work to do and couldn¡¯t accompany him.The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. I worked long and was tired when I came back home. My kids were at home and asked where their father was. I was surprised he should be back by now. While I prepared dinner for us, I heard a loud knock on the door. So, I went to the door and opened it. Some friends of my husband stood there and looked sadly and serious at me. I could read it in their eyes. Something happened to my dear husband. I asked where my husband was, and they answered me to calm down listen to their story. After a lot of crying, cursing and whining later they went away. I felt lonely for the first time in my life. They had told me that little demon had come and killed nearly everyone in the warehouse. Just a few survivors were left. They searched now for him, but the chances were low to find him. I started again to cry and wanted to despair. If I still hadn¡¯t my kids, I probably would commit suicide. The days went by and they didn¡¯t find the demon, but they arrested this evil witch. Just she alone had a reason to kill my husband who knew the truth about her. She should just die this bi***. And then finally today was her execution day. I went there early and stood in the middle of a lot of people. They all suffered under this witch. When they started the fire, I heard a loud ¡®Noooo¡¯ and turned around. I saw a young boy. He couldn¡¯t be older than 6 years. He looked similar like one of my boys. Small figure and a pale face. Instinctively I knew that he felt anger and was connected to this witch. Then someone shouted that he was the little demon. This kid should be the demon? I didn¡¯t know what to think or do, when the boy turned around and fled. I think I would have done the same if I was in his situation. He had nearly no chance to escape this mob. The thought to help him crossed my mind but I stayed silent and waited. Perhaps he was really the little demon and not a small kid. In the end they couldn¡¯t catch him, and he disappeared. I was a bit disappointed, but I went back to my life and my kids. I worked hard, and the days went by again. Right when I thought that everything would turn back to its normality, I heard new rumours. Rumours about war. I was shocked and afraid for my kids but what should I do. I needed to work here and in the end, I persuaded myself that nothing would happen to a neutral small town like ours. I was wrong. They came. They came with big ships and hundreds of troops. They brought fire and destruction. I tried to flee with my kids, but it was useless. They blocked the harbour and invaded the town. I hid my kids in wooden barrel and throwed it in the ocean. I hoped they would at least survive. Then I turned around and ran through flames and destruction. I tried to help the people but I and everyone else knew that there was no end to it. Chapter 10 Undead army and goblin village Chapter 10 The forest thinned out and the trees lost in height. Even though the trees lost in height the trunk became much thicker. The trees in the forest of the south were around 90 meters high and 2 to 3 meters thick. But these trees here in the north were around 40 meters high and 7 meters thick. Ragen was fascinated by these trees. He had never seen such trees before. Not in his previous life and not in this life. He climbed on such a tree and observed his surroundings. According to his memories the southern parts were around 10 miles to the south. He looked back and could faintly see the other trees from the southern part. They looked like a green wall to him. On his right site he saw vast plains with green grass and small hills. On his left site were this special landscape with grass and these trees. But when he looked in front of him, he saw a problem. There was a small mountain range and as far as he knew behind that mountain range did the island end. Those mountains must be the Dolrhia mountains. He didn¡¯t know much about them. Just the name and that it was dangerous to go there. He went down from the tree and picked up a stick. He let the stick decide where to go. In the end the stick fell to the left. So, he turned left and started to walk. The wind blew in his face and he felt the breeze of the sea. When he arrived on top of a hill he saw what he searched for. A few hundred meters away from him was a small goblin village. But this time the village had defences. It had a small wooden wall and one small wooden tower. What surprised him was the equipment of these goblins. They had daggers or bows do defend themselves and not some primitive clubs or axes. He hid behind a rock and observed the village. Then he used appraisal to get more knowledge about them.
Goblin village: Ildreg Inhabitants: 56/100 Village Chief: Tulma the ugly
It was surprising that [Appraisal] could even appraise a village. But it was convenient for him. He appraised the other goblins and found out that they were around level 15. The level was higher that the other villages. He had to be careful. While he was observing the village, he noticed that the gates opened, and a small group of goblins came out. They headed towards the forest with the thick trees. He knew that this was a big opportunity and followed them. The goblins had bows equipped and it looked like they were chattering among them. He sneakily followed them through the high grass and came even close enough to overhear their conversation. Goblin A: ¡°Today is hunting day. Tulma wants food!¡± He heard how the other grumbled something and then another voice: ¡°Why do we have to follow this goddamn asshole.¡± This voice must have mentioned the village chief who he had seen on his appraisal skill. ¡°Shut up you two and let¡¯s just concentrate on the mission. The boss wants some fresh meat than we bring him that fresh meat. Perhaps we even find a little bonus on our way.¡± The group was silent again and continued its journey. He took out both of his knifes and followed them. When they entered the forest of the thick trees Ragen activated his [Shadow Knife] skill and started the combat. He attacked the leading figure first. With some fast steps he had already reached the leader and before anyone could react, he cut the throat of the goblin in front of him open. A gurgling sound and a falling corpse followed. The other goblins finally reacted and shouted: ¡°Shit an ambush, group together and attack¡±. Ragen started to inhale how his master had showed him and then rushed forward. With his improved skill [Shadow Knife] he could finally use it on another level. The name shadow in the skill had a meaning. Now he could use the shadows of his opponents to stab them from behind. It was without sound and the opponent mostly notice too late from where the attacks come. This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. The group of goblins who stood now together wouldn¡¯t notice an attack from behind. He used the skill and heard a miserable cry. ¡°Who¡¯s the bastard which stabbed me from behind. AAAAH¡± Then a goblin fell to the ground. The two remaining goblins wanted to run but Ragen took out his bow and shot the first one. When he aimed at the second one, he shouted ¡°Stop or I shoot you¡±. The goblin froze and turned around. ¡°How can you speak my language human?¡± ¡°That nothing which you should concern yourself with. I want to make you an offer, are you interested?¡±-Ragen. ¡°What do you want?¡±. ¡°I want you to take me as a prisoner to get into your village. In the village you personally must bring me to your village chief. If you agree to this deal, then I will let you life.¡±-Ragen. The goblin hesitated but finally gave up. ¡°Human you win. I will take you as a fake prisoner and guide you to Tulma. But swear with magic that you will spare me!¡± ¡°I swear it.¡±-Ragen. While the goblin was waiting Ragen started his preparations for the attack. It was the first time in his life that he used the skill [Necromancy]. He activated the skill and used it on the three dead goblins. At first nothing happened but then the goblins started to awaken. The bodies stood up and took their weapon with them. Even though they looked alive at the first sight one saw in their eyes nothing other than emptiness. The remaining living goblin shivered. He felt relieved to accept the deal with the human. Out of curiosity Ragen looked at his necromancy skill in detail.
Skill [Necromancy] Undead capacity: Lesser undead:?????3/20 Average undead:????0/5 High undead:??????0/0
Now he could summon up to 25 undead creatures. An idea popped up in his mind. Why should he attack alone if he could create some small kind of force? He went to the goblin and said: ¡°I have used a special magic on you. I have created a magic dome around your heart. If you ran away or betray me the magic dome will crush your heart and you will be dead. I have some short business to do until then you wait here ok?¡± The goblin was confused. ¡°What about the prisoner thing? I thought you wanted me to guide you back into the village?¡± ¡°We will do that later. For now, I need to prepare something. So, wait here.¡± Without another word he left the goblin back. The undead goblins followed him into the forest. Back in the forest with the thick trees he started to scan the area for prey. He needed more soldiers. He hunted different kind of animals and even encountered another small group of goblins. They became all soldiers in his small army. When he wanted to go back, he noticed an unnatural movement. When he looked at on of the trees, he saw something truly scary. It was a snake. A giant snake which was winding itself around the tree. Before he could react, the snake attacked them. It instantly ate one of the goblins and started to look at Ragen. He started to sweat but calmed down. Slowly he took his bow out and prepared a magic arrow with a mix from ice and fire. The snake aimed at Ragen but in the last second, he jumped away and shot his arrow. The ice was very effective, and the snake started to slow down, but when the fire from the arrow activated its movements became lively again. At this point he knew, he had to use ice. The snake was enraged due to the pain of the fire and the arrow and turned around. Its eyes send murderous stares at Ragen, then it started another attack. This time from above. That was his chance. While the snake opened its mouth to swallow Ragen, he shot his arrow at her. It hit, and the snake crashed on the grand. It was still not dead but fatally wounded and the ice made her slowly. He didn¡¯t dare to kill her himself, because of her aggressive defence and so he ordered his new underlings to do the job. Suddenly a ding sound.
Congratulations you have levelled up. Player is now level 8.
When the snake finally died, he had lost three more underlings, but he gained another level and a new undead. The snake was now under his control. Together with the rest of the goblins and animals he hunted a few more to fill up his ranks and then went back. The goblin was still waiting there even though a few hours had passed. Ragen looked him in the eyes and said: ¡°Preparations are complete. Let¡¯s go to your village.¡± The goblin nodded and guided him back to the village. Not far away but not in sight followed a small army, ready to attack anybody who dared to mess with their master. Chapter 11 Killing Tulma and dominating the village Chapter 11 Ragen stared at the wooden walls. From up close he could see how crude they were made. On top of a small platform sat probably the goblin who was responsible for the gate. He looked down on a tied up Ragen and his new friend. ¡°What do you bring now? A human? And where is the rest of your group?¡± The goblin became a bit nervous but replied: ¡°A beast of the forest was chasing after him. We captured him and the rest chased after the beast. They said to me that I should bring this lowly human to Tulma.¡± The gatekeeper looked at him and then scratched his head. ¡°Ok, wait here I come down and open the gate.¡± A moment later, the gate opened and Ragen could enter the village. The village was more like a camp. There were no real buildings and just some kind of tents, which were made from fur. In the middle a big free space and some leftovers from a fire. They walked through the village and stood on front of the biggest tent. A raspy voice ordered them to enter. The insides of the tent were plain. There was a big torch on one of the pillars and in the corner was a chest. On the right side was a small bucket filled with water. When he turned his head, he saw a big chair probably meant as a throne and he saw Tulma. Tulma the ugly was really the right name for this creature. His body was slightly bigger than the bodies of the normal goblins. But he was quite fat and lied on the chair. He had strong legs but weird arms. The left arm was longer that the right one and he had on the left hand 5 fingers, but on the right were just two fingers. Like every goblin was his cloth made from fur and bones, but his head was decorated with feathers and some bones which faintly looked like a crown. The real ugliness lied in his face. His nose looked like a pig nose and his mouth was contorted. One could clearly see his black teethes. His eyes were quite small, and he had an arrogant gaze in his face. ¡°So, that¡¯s the human bastard who dared to come into our territory? I will personally teach him some manners. You can leave for now.¡± The goblin nodded and left the tent. Ragen thought about the best way to defeat this Tulma. Now he was level 9 and it wouldn¡¯t be strange if he could level up again. With level 9 he should be able to kill that hobgoblin. His small army should already be in position and he just had to give the signal for the attack through his mind. With a short thought his army started to move. Tulma got up and walked to him and then grinned. ¡°Now little puny human, how should I kill you?¡± While Tulma was thinking about a method he turned his back to Ragen. That was his chance! He cut the ropes with his knife and aimed at Tulma. But before he could reach his target, it had already noticed the danger. Tulma tried to doge. Even tough Ragen couldn¡¯t stab him in any vital points, he hit Tulma. The hobgoblin stared at him in shock and then shouted: ¡°Goblins, gather around me and kill this human!¡± But nobody answered, instead they heard loud shrieks and the sound of clashing weapons. ¡°What is going on? What did you do, you damn human?¡± Ragen grinned at Tulma and then jumped 5 meters from the hobgoblin away. He had his bow in his hands. Tulma on the other side of the tent took his mace out. He shot two fire arrows at the hobgoblin, but they missed the target ad set the tent on fire. In the tame Ragen had shot the arrows, Tulma approached him his mace in his hands. He dodged and he countered with his knife. A painful cry was heard when Ragen cut one of the arms of Tulma. Tulma staggered out of the tent. What he saw shocked him. The battle outside of the tent was cruel and the goblin were in unsure who enemy and friend was. The gate was destroyed due to a giant snake which ate every goblin who came near to it. At the same time came wolves and boars through the gate and attacked everyone. And if that was not enough there were even some small groups of goblins which were on the side of the attackers. All in all the situation was bad, no hopeless for the goblins. Tulma stood outside of his tent and saw how his life and home was burned down. He noticed the presence from behind but was unable to find the courage to attack that evil being. He wanted to flee. Right when he wanted to jump over the small wall, he felt pain. Intense pain flooded his body and he knew that everything was over. He stared at the source of the pain and saw an arrow which was stuck in his stomach. The area around the arrow was red then slowly turned into ice. He tried to get up but failed. He felt pity for himself and his kind and then everything turned black. Ragen watched as the hobgoblin died.

Congratulations. You have reached level 10. You have unlocked the [SHOP]
What a shop? He was bewildered. There was something like a shop? But before he could think more about that, he heard another message.
Player can use [Domination] on the goblin village. Does player want to dominate the village YES/NO
So, he could already use [Domination] on this village. Without much hesitation he thought YES and something miraculous happened. The battle in the village instantly stopped. All the goblins in the village prostrated on the ground before him and said: ¡°Hail the lord.¡± He didn¡¯t expect that to happen. A short silence went by and one of goblins sat up and asked: ¡°Oh great King what is you desire? How can we serve you?¡± He pondered but then replied: ¡°Goblins of this village, you are now under my rule. You will obey my commands and orders. For the time being you all shall repair this village and treat your wounds.¡± The goblins bowed and then followed his orders. While the goblins started to extinguish the fire and fix the gate, he sat on the ground and thought [SHOP].
Welcome to the SHOP. Here you can buy different things. Now you just have access to low level items and the categories, with higher levels you can also access higher goods: - Scrolls - Magic books - Low level weapons - Low level minions - Low level skills You pay with coins or souls. Do you want to buy anything from these categories?
He wanted to buy some new weapons. Suddenly a lot of different pictures and text popped up in his mind. There were categories like swords, daggers, axes and many other things. He thought about bows and instantly saw the different bows which he could buy. They were pefectly listed after theirs price. He scrolled through the assortment and finally saw a bow which was suited for him and didn''t cost too much.
Dark Wind Bow Price : 200 silver coins / 60 lesser souls Rarity: rare Additional Shadow damage Additional Wind damage Requirements: Level 10 User must already have a [Shadow] skill.
He still had some coins left from the last trade and so he thought ¡®buy¡¯. He noticed how his pocket became lighter and suddenly a beautiful black bow began to materialize itself in his hands. The bow had beautiful curves and patterns on it. It stretched from his feet to his shoulders and the bow string was out of a black metal. When he lifted the bow with his hands, he noticed how light it was. It was just a masterpiece. It was perfect. Before the rebuilding of the village was finished Ragen had bought another thing. The skill [Soul Collection]. With this skill he was able to store lesser souls in his mind and then trade them for more items. But now he was broke and couldn¡¯t afford any more items or skills. When the sundown began the last big damages were repaired in the village. All the goblins now gathered around him on the small square in the middle of the village. ¡°All of you who are now my minions should now, that from now on there are some rules in this villages First: Never disobey my command. Even if it means to die. Second: Stop the fighting without reasons. If you have a grudge against each other then you will hold a duel by fist. No deaths! Those two rules will do it for now. For the time until I come back, I want you guys to scout the area and find any interesting place which we could conquer. If you encounter an enemy refrain from any violence and retreat to the village. Until I come back this goblin here (He pointed on the goblin, who went back with him) will lead you guys. He shall be my first commander. What is your name?¡± The goblin was stunned and then answered: ¡°Great lord, we lower goblins don¡¯t have any names.¡± Ragen thought a moment and the replied: ¡°Then from now on you should be called Unoreth my first commander.¡± The goblin looked up at his lord and cried in happiness: ¡°I have a name. I am Unoreth!¡± Ragen nodded and then said: ¡°Until I am back Unoreth will lead this village. So follow his orders.¡± He then turned around went to the gate. Unoreth followed him. The rest of the goblins disperse and went to sleep or further work. Ragen patted Unoreth on his shoulders and said: ¡°Until I am back, I want you to guide them. Improve the defence wall and the housing of the village. For defence I will let you have my undead minions. Don''t use them reckless, just when you really need them. Also scout the area for anything interesting. I trust you.¡± Unoreth smiled and replied: ¡°Yes master, I will not disappoint you.¡± Ragen left the village and went back to his master. He had a bad feeling, he had been longer away from his master than he should have been. The time which was given to him, had ended around two days ago and now he arrived all in all three days later than it was scheduled. His master greeted him with a murderous stare, and he knew, he had made a big mistake which he would regret now. Chapter 12 Becoming a half demon Chapter 12 Bane was silently starring at Ragen. Even tough Ragen was five meters away from his master he could feel the anger. One minute passed, two minutes passed, and nobody moved. Even breathing became hard for Ragen. Finally, after a short while which felt like an eternity Bane started to talk. ¡°I know you are young, and you want to prove yourself and so on. BUT! Never ever disobey me again! Never! Did you understand me?¡± ¡°Yes master, I am so sorry.¡±-Ragen. Bane looked him in the eyes. ¡°I will punish you for this mistake. When your punishment is finished then I hope you have learned your lesson.¡± Ragen never expected his master to punish him, but he accepted the punishment. His master told him to follow him and they entered a cave near the waterfall. In the cave was a hole and down there were some weird plants. His master turned around and said: ¡°I wanted to train you in the self-regeneration skill but without much pain. Due to your misbehaviour you will now learn it the old way. Take this magic stone with you. Inside the stone is the magic which activates the self-regeneration. When the plants start to eat you, then you activate the magic. Sooner or later your body will start to regenerate without the stone. Don¡¯t come out without the proper skill. I will test you. Now jump down!¡± He took the stone and jumped into the hole. At first nothing happened but then the plants started to move themselves around his body. Small needle from the plants started to invade his body. He could feel a sharp pain and then the plants started to eat him. Under extreme pain started the self-regeneration stone to work. He didn¡¯t know how long he had been in the hole, but it felt like weeks. Everyday was filled with pain. Finally, after a long or a short time he wasn¡¯t sure anymore, started his body to regenerate itself. At first it was just the small holes from the needles of the plants but then after some time the scratched places on his body started to heal. He heard a sound and saw the message from the system.
Player has acquired the skill [Regeneration] (novice)
But he knew that novice was too low to heal bigger wounds. So, he had to stay and wait. Not till he could heal missing limbs would he leave the hole. He guessed that day passed until he was finally satisfied with the skill level. He thought status and looked at his stats.

After a while his master got up and walked towards him. He just asked: ¡°Are you finished?¡± Ragen nodded. All of a sudden, his master pulled out his arm. Even for the harsh training which Ragen attended, this was quite extreme. And so he cursed loudly when he saw his arm in the hand of his master. Despite the curses and the extreme bleeding remained his master calmness. He observed how the arm started to regenerate. When the missing arm slowly but steadily was replaced by a new one he started to show a pleased expression. ¡°I hope you have learned your lesson. In tree months you will be allowed to return to that special forest again. Until then your friends must wait. Did you understand?¡± Ragen was shocked that Bane knew about his friends. ¡°Yes master, but how do you know that?¡± His master looked at him and then replied: ¡°My disciple, you should know that there are some people who have the skill [Mind Reading]. I know everything about you.¡± Ragen again was shocked. His master knew from the beginning that he was a ¡®player¡¯. ¡°My disciple, I will train you that in such cases like this, you are able to defend your mind. But for now, we just train your physical body. I have created a quest for you. Fulfil the quest every day. When you are finished then find me and we will train you fighting abilities.¡± When Bane finished talking, Ragen heard a sound and saw a message.
Player got a new daily quest: Finish these exercises everyday: - 20 kilometres running - 100 push-ups - 200 sit-ups - wear 30 kilograms during the training Rewards: + 2 VIT + 2 STR + 3 AGI If the ¡®player¡¯ does not fulfil the quest everyday Bane will punish him.
He was stunned but then accepted reality. His master handed him some special clothes where the weight was, and some special spells were engraved. Ragen started his physical training. At first it was like hell to him. Every inch of his body hurt when he went to sleep and, in the morning, he had to fight some stiff muscles and limbs. When his physical training was over, he had to spar with Bane. For that he used the daggers and fought fiercely. Bane won every time they sparred and didn¡¯t show any mercy to Ragen. So, besides the [Shadow Knife] skill he also trained [Regeneration]. When three months passed, he could see the fruits of his training. The results of his training were amazing. His vitality went up to 304, his strength went up to 325 and his agility went up to 354. It was just amazing. He had long struggled to improve his stats and he just knew that it was possible trough levelling, but that was just one part. Even though he was just level ten, he felt like level 15. His master came to him and then said: ¡°I know that you have the scroll ¡®path of a demon¡¯. Now you are strong enough to open the scroll. For a weak physical body, it would be unimageable to wander on this path, but with our training you should be finally able to walk that path.¡± Ragen was surprised he hadn¡¯t thought about the scroll and had even forgotten about it. The scroll was stored in his mind and so he had to think about it. It appeared in his hands. The scroll was heavy and was made from leather from different races. Perhaps even humans. He opened it and there was a lot of text:
Hello wanderer of the demon path You have finally reached the first step. With the following instructions your body will evolve into the stage between a demon and a human. But be reminded that there is no going back if you follow this instruction. When you turn into a full Demon, then will you not only lose your race but also your name. Every Demon gets his name from the God of the Demons on their awakening. If you are sure follow these steps.
¡ The scroll had a clear instruction for how he could reach the first stage, but he would need some ingredients to reach the first step. When he wanted to ask his master for the location of the ingredients, his master started to grin. He said: ¡°Happy birthday Ragen. As a gift, I will give you this ingredients, use them wisely.¡± Bane opened his eyes and showed him a hand full of weird plants and stones. There were some red plants which were the so called the fire roots, and some grey leaves which were the ashen hands. The stone was blue, and it must be the magic stone which was mentioned in the instruction. He thanked his master and then took everything into the cave where he lived right now. On a big stone he started to grind the root and the leaves. The colour was red mixed with brown. It smelled good, like a campfire. He brought some water and mixed everything, then he drank it. His throat was on fire and the taste was bad. It tasted like ash and he didn¡¯t know how to describe it but the most similar thing would be fire. When the fire finally ended in his throat he noticed a burning feeling in his whole body. Then he felt like his whole body was on fire. That feeling continued until a certain moment came. He noticed the letters which started to appear on his body and he knew that the right moment came. He teared his chest open. He knew, without the pain training and the [Regenerate] skill it would be impossible for him to do this, but now he did it. He felt his heart beating fast when he took the magic stone and started to fuse it with his heart. He never felt as much pain as this. His heart was torn into pieces while his whole body was on fire. He didn¡¯t know how much time passed or how he could remain sane, but he started to lough out loudly, when the process was finally finished. He had become a half demon. He felt how his skin had changed and his heart was connected to the magic stone. He was now a step closer to become a Demon Lord. Chapter 13 Visiting the goblin village Chapter 13 Ragen went out of the cave and walked towards the river. He looked at the water and saw a young boy with slightly tan which was new. Another change was his body size. Before he started to evolve he was around 1.30m tall but now he was around 1.70m. That was quite the change in his body size. He thought status to see his stats.

The results of the training bore fruits and he was now three times stronger than before. When he was finished to observe his body and his status he went to his master. Bane greeted him and he sat in front of his master. He sat there for around an hour before his master opened his mouth. ¡°My disciple, you have finally reached the first step of your long journey. But still, your training isn¡¯t finished yet. In the next few years you will fight with different creatures to sharpen your senses and experience some real battles.¡± Ragen thought about the snake he had defeated and was inwardly excited to fight against more such creatures. ¡°But before my dear disciple, you should visit your friends once and assure them of your health. We will start with the training in a week from now, so don¡¯t be late. And a little advice from me. Acquire the skill [Mind Communication].¡± Ragen nodded and stood up. His master allowed him to go to the north and he would gladly follow his master¡¯s advice. The forest was calm as ever and Ragen enjoyed the fresh air from the forest. Now for him it was like a walk in the garden. He could crush most of the low monsters in the forest with his bare hands. With his new strength he started to gather more and more souls for the store. When he reached his goblin village, he had successfully bought the skill in the shop. He stopped in front of the door and saw the changes in the village. When he conquered the village, it had just some small walls which looked more like a fence. The height of that fence was around 6 feet but now it was around 9 feet. The gatekeeper who prostrated before him had also changed. He now wore something like a chain mail and his spear was made out of iron. When the gate was open, and he could enter some nice wooden lodges entered his view. In the middle of the village was a stone statue located. The only thing which was entirely out of stone. When he walked towards the statue a lot of goblin started to come out and bowed down in front of him. In front of the statue he stopped. The statue showed a warrior with a bow who aimed at a point far away. He instantly knew, that this statue showed his old self. The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. A sound from behind attracted his attention. His first commander and two guards came to him and bowed down. ¡°Welcome my lord. I hope you had a pleasant journey.¡± Ragen looked intensely at his subordinate. He saw with [Appraisal] that his underling had improved quite a bit. Before he had conquered this village Unoreth was around level 4 but now he was level 7 and he had new skill. One of them was the [Leader] skill. ¡°Your majesty I know you perhaps dislike the statue, but the people wanted it like this. I had no other choice.¡± Rag replied: ¡°If the other want it then let it be. Now more important how are the thing over here?¡± Unoreth got up and answered: ¡°The settlement is growing, and we have a lot more followers. There are around 400 goblins now under your command. Not everyone is a warrior, but they are ready to contribute everything for you. We also have successfully scouted the area in a radius from 20 miles. We have found some smaller settlements, villages and an orc fortress. Right now, we don¡¯t have any problems, but we are bit short on food.¡± Ragen looked at his surroundings. Indeed, the village underwent quite the growth, but he didn¡¯t think that around 400 goblins would swear their loyalty to him. He turned around and faced Unoreth. ¡°About the food, I have a solution for that. We will start to cultivate the land around this village, and we start with stock farming. The big difference between humans and goblins is the difference in agriculture but now that will change. Now I will explain it in detail. You first¡¡± Unoreth watched how his master explained the cultivating process to him and the now gathering goblins. He felt a large amount of excitement in his heart. They would reach the same stage as humans! ¡°¡.Like I told you before that was the basic things about agriculture. Now leave and start to cultivate the lands.¡± The goblins dispersed in all directions and started to gather tools for cultivation. He turned to Unoreth and said: ¡°I have another thing for you. Take this scroll it contains the skill [Mind Communication] with this skill we will be able to stay in contact during my absent time. Now show me where the headquarter is.¡± Unoreth took the scroll and guided his lord to a building which was on the north side of the village. It had only one big room inside it. In the room was a large table on which a map was placed with some red markers. The red markers stood for the villages and there was even a green marker. He guessed it was the orc fortress. He looked at the map and said to Unoreth: ¡°Unoreth we need to become stronger. I have a smiting skill role and a formula for swords, shields and armour, but we don¡¯t have enough iron. Do you have an idea how we could gather some iron?¡± Unoreth thought a moment and then replied with excitement: ¡°Just yesterday we had some newcomers from the mountains. They have the skill [Metal Detection] I think that should help a lot.¡± Ragen was surprised that his commander had found a solution for his problem. With a smile he answered: ¡°Good, gather some of them and distribute them into different groups. Send them into the mountain, in areas without much danger and let them dig for some iron.¡± His commander nodded and ran out of the house to find the goblins. Ragen observed the room again and found a small chair in one of the corners of the room. He sat down and started to sleep. He needed a bit of rest, he was still not a demon. Meanwhile the goblins gathered and started the digging. Other goblins started to collect wood for the processing of the metal. When Ragen woke up and went out of the house he saw how a lot of goblins started to process the materials. Soon there would be enough iron for weapons and armour. He saw how Unoreth approached him and then said to him: ¡°I hope your majesty had a good rest?¡± Ragen nodded and said ¡±Yes I had and now follow me we have some things to discuss.¡± Unoreth followed his master into the house and they started to plan. Ragen knew that the goblins right now could defend themselves, so he took his undead underlings with him. His necromancy needed to improve. He had found out that the creatures just needed magic to be summoned but they needed no magic to stay in this world. That was very convenient. While he was thinking on how to improve his necromancy skill, Unoreth started to ask him: ¡°What about the other villages?¡± Ragen looked up and then replied with an evil grin: ¡°Conquer them all. One by one and if there is any resistance then don¡¯t show any mercy. About the orc fortress. We have to wait I need a clearer picture on those orcs and their defence. And improve with all means our military strength.¡± Unoreth nodded and then responded: ¡°That will be a piece of cake.¡± Ragen laughed and then told him to be always wary of the opponent. He also told him, that his commander now had to report him every three days about the situation of their forces. If any emergency should occur, he should tell him immediately. After the short discussion he left the building and the village. He had to improve his [Necromancy] skill until his return. Ragen and his undead followers entered the forest. They slaughtered every monster and creature they encountered. The most work did his giant undead snake. The undead goblins were more like cannon fodder for the monsters. Ragen himself noticed another important thing. The creatures his underlings killed turned into experience for him and he could level up with their help. That was a pleasant surprise. His skill started to improve slowly. When they had butchered over a hundred creature, he finally saw that his skill evolved from novice to apprentice. He could now summon higher undeads. Chapter 14 A giant gorilla Chapter 14 Ragen opened the skill window for necromancy and read about the progress of his skill. With the higher level he could now summon up to 125 undeads. When he turned the defeated creatures into undeads he could now change them. He could choose to let them be like they were or turn them into Zombies, Skeletons, Wights or Ghouls. He turned some of the creature under him into ghouls and skeletons. The skeletons wore automatically rusty swords, spears and bows and the ghouls had long tentacles for their attacks. While he watched how his subordinate were observing their new bodies, he noticed a movement between the trees. Around half a mile from their position started the trees to fall over. He heard loud steps and a roar. Something was coming and it was not friendly. He ordered his subordinates to take a defensive position, while he walked up to a small hill. The first thing he saw was giant head with lots of black fur. Then the face of the monster entered his vision. It was a giant gorilla?!? The Gorilla spotted its target and took one of the fallen trees. It aimed at Ragen and throwed the whole tree at him. He instantly dodged the tree and gave some orders to his underlings. The skeletons started to shoot at the gorilla while he ordered the snake to slow the gorilla down. While his subordinates followed their orders, he started to chant some spells onto his arrows and aimed them at the gorilla. While the arrows hit the gorilla, he activated [Appraisal].

He was surprised to see that much with [Appraisal]. The title Guardian of the forest was also quite interesting. His slaughter must have been noticed by this gorilla and he wanted him to stop. Ragen grinned. This was a perfect chance to test out his ability and perhaps he could even receive a new underling. In the meantime, his underlings had started to attack the gorilla but they weren¡¯t quite effective. Just the snake was able to slow him a bit down, but right when she was on his shoulder to reach the neck of the gorilla, the snake was caught and thrown away. When Ragen saw that his underlings were losing terribly he started to run towards the gorilla. The gorilla wanted to grab him, but he was faster and ran through between the legs of the gorilla. When he was behind the gorilla, he shot two fire arrows at the hollow the knees of the gorilla. The arrows hit and the gorilla went down in pain. While the gorilla was on the ground and confused the snake started to wiggle herself around his neck. When the gorilla noticed the change in the battle, it was already to late. The snake was around his neck and on top of the head of the snake stood Ragen with an arrow aiming at the gorilla¡¯s head. The gorilla closed his eyes and waited for the last hit, but nothing happened. While he was wondering why he wasn¡¯t dead, yet he heard a voice. ¡°Pledge your loyalty to me and I will spare you. In exchange you have to follow me forever.¡± The gorilla didn¡¯t know how he could understand this creature. He answered: ¡°I have already lost human. If you want to kill me do it now.¡± He pondered serving a human. Was that possible? While he was thinking about this, the human answered: ¡°I don¡¯t want to kill you. Just submit and in exchange you will live.¡± The gorilla didn¡¯t know how the human was able to communicate with him. The gorilla became curious. There was something about this human, that was extraordinary. Something that he hadn¡¯t seen until now. The gorilla knew, that in front of him was somebody worthy to be his master. ¡°Human, I the guardian of this forest submit defeat with my vow to serve you.¡± Ragen was pleased he had found another underling who was strong. While the snake loosened the grip on the gorilla and the gorilla bowed down in front of Ragen, he heard a ding sound. The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Through all that slaughter and killing the creatures in the forest for the last days he became quite a bit stronger. He talked to the gorilla and told him, that he needed to attend a training under his master Bane Firestorm. When he said that name, he was admiration the eyes of the gorilla. So even the gorilla knew who his master was. He then also told him that until he was at the training, the gorilla would stay at the goblin village. It would protect it and help them to subjugate the other villages. When they were finished talking, he went back to the goblin village with the gorilla. When they were around 200 meters away from the village, he heard them shout: ¡°It¡¯s a monster. Mommy help me!¡± He saw how they prepared their bows to shoot at the gorilla. In the last second Unoreth noticed his master and ordered them to stop immediately. All the goblins were amazed that their master was able to make such a monster into his underling they again bowed down deeply and shouted: ¡°Long live our lord!¡± Ragen still wasn¡¯t adapted to such attention and was bit embarrassed for a short moment. He asked Unoreth how everything was going and got the expected answer. They started successfully to cultivate the lands, but they had just begun. Also, the subjugation of the other villages was just at the beginning and they still planned on the perfect tactics for the different villages. He patiently listened to Unoreth and then said to him, that he would leave the gorilla to them. He also told Unoreth about his training which would start in two day from now. Unoreth nodded and then said: ¡°My lord, I know you have to go soon but before you go please have a feast with us about your victory.¡± Ragen hesitated, but in the end decided to stay. The feast was a big occasion for the village, and they brought their best wine and food to him. On the middle of the village was a big amount of wood piled up and set on flames. While they ate some of the warriors showed their fighting style and entertained all of them. Even the gorilla laughed and had his fun. Ragen didn¡¯t know when he smiled so much the last time and enjoyed the feast to its fullest. After a long night he got up and readied himself for the short travel. At the gate waited Unoreth and his gorilla, they both were a bit sad, that their lord had to leave. He bid farewell to them and then ran back to his master. Thanks to his improved strength and agility he was now as fast as a car when he ran with full speed. He didn¡¯t need long until he finally arrived at his master¡¯s place. His next training stage would now start. Chapter 15 The water temple Chapter 15 Bane looked at Ragen and said: ¡°My disciple, I have studied your battle style and found the perfect training method for you. But before we begin with this method you have to learn a bit more about magic. And we have to change your clothes. You are still wearing those old clothes. You need a new armour or a robe.¡± Ragen looked at his tattered clothes and felt embarrassed. He had never cared about his clothes. Bane continued: ¡°Whenever I saw you fight, you never used magic, just on your bow or necromancy. A proper demon must know how to use magic. Not only in combat but also in other aspects of live.¡± Ragen listened and thought that his master was right. He just knew the spell [Magic Shield Dome] and a bit of necromancy. That was insufficient for a battle. His master looked a short moment at him and then took a magic stone out. He said: ¡°Before I will teach you some magic and spells, I need to know what affinity you have. There six main affinities and twelve minor affinities. Every being in this world has at least one. So, put your hand on the stone and le some mana flow into it.¡± Ragen followed the orders of his master and looked at the stone. At first nothing happened, but then the stone turned black and became cold like ice. One could even see his own breath near the stone. After that it changed again it¡¯s colour and became blue, humid and smelled like the sea. His master looked at him and said: ¡°I never such an interesting combination. You have two main elements and two subelements. The main elements are darkness and water but your subelements are ice and death. Both are quite special.¡± His master looked at him and the nodded. He defiantly had thought about something. He started to talk again: ¡°My elements are Fire and Earth. That¡¯s why Ragen I can¡¯t directly teach you those magics, but my personal spirit and some of my summoned beasts should be able to teach you.¡± His master took a step back and started to chant magic. A big circle appeared on the ground. A short moment later a beautiful woman appeared inside of the circle. She had blue hair and blue eyes. She looked at his master and bowed down. ¡°The spirit of the ocean Naida greets her master.¡± Ragen was stunned to see such a beauty suddenly appear and bow down to his master. Bane looked at him amused and said:¡± Naida this boy here is my disciple. I want you to teach him water magic. You can use every method you want. Just teach him properly.¡± With that Bane turned around and left those two. Ragen still fascinated from the beauty of the girls didn¡¯t notice how she started to cast a spell. A blue door appeared in front of him. He was a bit shocked due to the sudden appearance of the door. ¡°Disciple of my master. Please enter the door and be prepared for your training. After we are finished you shall use water magic like you were born with it.¡± Ragen walked to the door and had his hand already on the doorknob when Naida spoke again: ¡°Before you go remember this. Feel the bond between the water and your soul, just then you will be able to solve the coming trial.¡± She disappeared and he opened the door. Right after that he found himself again in the water. There was just water everywhere around him. He swam inside of an ocean!! If he hadn¡¯t learnt how to swim in his previous world, then he would now be drowning. While he looked around to find any clue about his position, Naida reappeared in front of him and said: ¡°My quest for you is easy. Go to the ground of the ocean and find the temple of my kinfolk. The temple of the water spirits. Inside of that temple is a room with lots of fruits. Pick only one and eat it, then return. That is all good luck.¡± With those words she disappeared and left a confused Ragen. When she left, he heard a ding sound and a window popped up.
Player has a new quest: Obtain a spirit fruit of the sea. Rewards: [Water magic] +500 XP
He looked at the window and then started his search for this temple. After a few hours he gave up. The temple must be under water and he couldn¡¯t hold his breath for such a long time. It was too deep and dark to find anything. While he was floating on the surface, he thought about the words which were told to him by Naida. The bond between his soul and the water. He tried to feel the water, but it was useless. He started to close his eyes and trying to find another solution. While he was concentrated, he started to notice something. It was like a rhythm in the waves of the ocean. He listened to the rhythm. Slowly but steadily he could feel how he became accustomed to the water around him. The water was now not an obstacle to him, but it was like a nice cushion. The rhythm for the water and the feeling became stronger. Finally, he understood. The water once gave birth to his kind and now he was back home. He smiled, it felt like he was in the lap of his mother. With a relaxed face he started to dive into the sea.Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon. When he was underwater, he could see clearer. There was even a faint shape of a building deep on the ground. He tried to dive deeper, but he noticed that he hadn¡¯t much breath left. Right when he wanted to turn around and go back to the surface a shadow figure appeared. The shadow rammed its giant figure into his body. Ragen was turned upside down and lost orientation. While he was confused the shadow, figure appeared again. He now clearly saw, that the shadow was a shark which had attacked him. He needed a way to fight this thing, but before that he needed air. He finally was able to see where the surface was. He swam into that direction and saw the shark behind him. He used [Magic Shield Dome] and the shark was repelled. As Ragen tried to swim again to the surface, he noticed how the edges of his eyes became blurred. His mouth opened out of instinct to breathe and he didn¡¯t drown. His eyes became round when he started to notice that he could breath under water. He now understood the meaning of Naida completely. He was now in his element. The shark which was still confused of the shield which suddenly appeared, started again to swim into his direction. Ragen knew he had to find a way to deal with this fish. He couldn¡¯t use any skills down here and he didn¡¯t know if water magic would deal any damage to him. Then he got an idea. If he couldn¡¯t fight if with water, then why not to drive it away. He turned his head to shark and started to think about a strong stream or waves. The shark came closer and closer but around 5 meters in front of Ragen it stopped. Then slowly the shark got further away from him. The shark clearly tried to swim to him, but it was useless. The shark was driven away by an invisible hand. When he didn¡¯t see the shark anymore, he started to head to the shape in the distance. When he came closer, he could finally see the so called ¡®temple of the water spirits. It was tower which was spiral and was made from corals. It had faint blue colour and the entrance was on the highest floor. A big white gate stood in front of Ragen. He stood in front of the gate and tried opening it, but the gate didn¡¯t open. He then placed his hands on the gate and let some mana with some water magic mixed in flow into the gate. Finally, it opened. Behind the gate were some round stairs which went downwards. After the stairs came a long corridor and then again, a gate. This time it was blue. He opened the gate and saw a grand hall filled with all type¡¯s fruits. One had a blue colour and a cubic shape, others were round and red. There even some silver and gold ones. He remembered that Naida said that he could pick any of the fruits, but he could just pick one. He looked around and saw lots of interesting fruits. He walked through the hall, when he noticed on purple fruit in the corner of the hall. It looked like a human skull and had purple colour with some black points on it. He felt like that this one was the right fruit and picked it.
Congratulations you have successfully completed the quest from Naida. Rewards: [Water Magic] + 500 XP
He went out of the temple and back to the surface. Then on the surface he closed his eyes and ate the fruit. It had an interesting taste which he couldn¡¯t describe. After he had eaten the whole fruit, his eye lids suddenly became heavy and he fell unconscious. He didn¡¯t know how much time passed but a voice told him to wake up. In front of him was a young girl floating the sea. ¡°Master, please wake uuup!¡± Who the hell was that? That was his first thought when he saw the girl. ¡°Who are you and why are you here?¡± The girl crossed her arms and said: ¡°Didn¡¯t you remember, you ate one of the spirit fruits for a contract with a spirit. I am now your spirit und you are my master.¡± He did what? Another voice was heard. ¡°Good disciple of my master, you have successfully completed my quest. We will now move on to the next stage.¡± Ragen looked at Naida and replied: ¡°No, wait please. Explain me the situation here first.¡± Naida looked at him and said: ¡°For a deep and save bond you have to obtain a spirit. That happened here. Be aware that for your subelements you don¡¯t need one. Now let¡¯s go.¡± He was still a bit confused but now he understood why he had a spirit. Before Naida could speak any further of their mission, the spirit girl came to Ragen and asked: ¡°Master could you please give me a name?¡± He was surprised: ¡°You don¡¯t have one?¡± The girl shook her head. He though a moment and then replied to her: ¡°Good from now on you will be called Celia my personal water spirit.¡± The girl smiled happily and bowed down to him. Naida who waited now said: ¡°Good you two, now come. We go to the next stage. She opened another portal. This time it was a white door. Behind it was a cold world. Naida went in first, Ragen and Celia followed. Chapter 16 Ice world Chapter 16 He stood on a frozen lake. In the north from him was a mountain range with lots of high mountains. At this place it must be early morning, the sun was just rising. The ice was shining in the sun and it was cold. Naida were so kind to dry his clothes so he wouldn¡¯t freeze to death instantly. He saw his breath in the air and started to shiver. When he turned around to look at Celia, he saw that she was quite happy to be surrounded by water even though it was frozen. While he was shivering, he saw that Naida took a white crystal out. The crystal was probably out of ice. Naida turned her head towards the mountains and said: ¡°Behind these mountains is a small hut. Walk to that hut place the crystal in front of the hut. And then wait until the door opens and then you will receive the blessing of the ice spirits. With the blessing you should be able to return. Here is the crystal. Don¡¯t stop until you have arrived.¡± She gave him the crystal and disappeared. He and Celia looked at each other and then started to walk into that direction. It was cold. That was all he could think about. The snow was crunching under his feet and the wind brought a cold breeze and snow. When the sun was high up in the sky, he arrived at the borders of the mountains. With blue fingers and shivering hands, did he start to climb the mountains. When he reached a mountain pass and made a break to catch his breath, Celia approached him. She hugged him tightly and he felt how her body started to warm him up. Even tough Celia was not a human she had a human like body temperature. They hugged each other for around an hour before they continued their arduous journey. The sun went down when they finally saw the little hut. From this point on, did Ragen run. He wanted to feel the warmth of the hut. When he stood in front of the door, he placed the crystal in the front and knocked twice. Celia stepped to the site and was curious what would happen now. After a short while he heard heavy steps and an old man opened the door. He had a long grey beard. His eyes were grey like steel and he wore a white robe. He looked at Ragen and then asked: ¡°What is fragile but falls from the sky? It has all kinds of shape but its always the same. What is it?¡± Ragen knew this was a quiz that he had to solve. So, he started to think. It falls from the sky? The only things that falls from the sky is rain? No wait, there is another thing. A snowflake! He replied: ¡°It¡¯s a snowflake.¡± The man looked at him and nodded. ¡°Good young one. You have proven yourself. Take this scroll and read it. Then give your spirit this potion. That will be all.¡± The man gave him a scroll and the potion and then closed the door. He turned around and started to read the scroll. When was at the beginning of reading, he suddenly stood above the clouds? He was quite shocked to that sudden change. A voice spoke to him: ¡°Calm down young one. It¡¯s me the old man from before. I will now tell you some things through this scroll. That you see this vision means just, that you are worthy to learn ice magic.¡± Ragen calmed down and then looked at the scene which was unfolding in front of him. ¡°Ice was at the beginning¡± said the voice and he saw giant asteroids out of ice flying towards a planet. The scene changed again, and he saw the planet coming nearer. ¡°Ice gave life to this world, but it also took life.¡± The scene changed again. A white wall came from the north to the south. It destroyed everything on its way. Mountains, forests and entire continents. ¡°Ice means calmness and eternity.¡± He saw an arctic landscape where months and years passed by. Nothing happened in this landscape. There was just ice and snow everywhere. ¡°But ice and snow can also come and go in a short time.¡± He saw a landscape in the middle of the winter. There was a forest and plains which were totally under a layer of snow and ice. But suddenly the sun appeared, and he saw how the snow melted and the ice disappeared like they never were here before. ¡°Now you know what ice is and what it can do. What you choose to do with this knowledge is up to you.¡± With those words he came back to the world and Celia. Before he noticed anything, he saw a message popping up.
Player has acquired [Ice Magic].
She already was shaking him like crazy and he said: ¡°Stop everything¡¯s fine.¡± She looked at him and observed if anything had changed inside of his eyes. ¡°Master I thought you never would wake up from your trance. I was seriously worried about you.¡± He smiled at her and then gave her the potion from the old man. ¡°Drink this Celia. It will help you and about the trance its alright now so don¡¯t worry about it.¡± She was satisfied with his answer but followed his order. She opened the bottle and then drank the potion. He instantly could observe that she entered a trance like him. 5 Minutes passed and he finally saw a change. The iris of her eyes which were a deep blue before became brighter. While he was waiting for her to wake up, he noticed that he didn¡¯t freeze anymore. No, it felt quite pleasant for him to be outside. He knew that it was the effect of the [Ice Magic]. Another two minutes passed, and she finally woke up from her trance. She looked at him and said: ¡°Master I successfully acquired the ice attribute. I can now use both [Ice] and [Water Magic].¡± He nodded satisfied and said: ¡°We should now head back. I think Naida is waiting for us.¡± He started walk back and Celia followed him. On their way back, they just needed half of the time because the coldness couldn¡¯t reach them anymore and he found out that he could now walk over snow, like it was normal earth. Naida waited for them on the lake and greeted them. She said: ¡°Well done disciple of my master. You are alive and from the energy I can feel from you, you mastered the [Ice Magic]. We should head back to my master.¡± With those words opened another portal door. This time it was a plain brown door. He opened the door and Celia, Naida followed him. On the other side of the door stood his master waiting for him. Bane looked intensely at him and then started to laugh. ¡°My disciple you have done well. Not only did you master the magic from the elements. No, you also brought a beautiful lady back.¡± He grinned at his last words. It was a bit embarrassing for Ragen. With a small hint of red in his face Ragen answered: ¡°I have come back master. Can we now continue my training?¡± Bane noticed the red in his face and his grin widened. He replied: ¡°Before we start you should eat something and have some rest. In 5 hours, you can come back. Then I want to test you. I mean you were 6 months in that space.¡± Ragen was startled when he heard, that he was 6 months away from home. How could he even survive six months without food and water? Bane saw that his disciple was thinking about his words and so he said: ¡°The time in the world of the spirits flow differently then the time here in our world.¡± Ragen nodded that was quite logical. So for him it was just around a few days but in this world it was a longer time. ¡°Now go and rest. Eat something and then come back.¡± Bane turned around and went away. Ragen walked to his bed and sat down. Meanwhile Celia went to the waterfall. Water Spirits didn¡¯t need to sleep so she went to play. Before he could sleep he heard a sound in his head. ¡°Your lordship? Are you there? Can you please answer?¡± It was the mind communication skill which he had given to his commander. He answered in his head: ¡°Yes I am here Unoreth. What is the matter?¡± He heard something like a sobbing and then a relived voice answered him: ¡°Oh lord you are back. I thought something happened to you. You never answered when we tried to call you. Where have you been?¡± Right Bane had told him that six months had passed but he never thought that his underlings would start to worry. He sighed in his mind and replied ¡°I was on a trip in the spirit world. But more importantly why did you call me?¡± There was a short silence before Unoreth answered. ¡°You should come to us and see for yourself lord. It is a bit difficult to explain it.¡± He wondered what could have happened. He said: ¡°I will look that I can come soon, but firstly I need to train with my master until then you have to wait. Unoreth seemed happy and said: ¡°No problem. We will wait for your return my lord.¡± With that he finished the conversation and went to sleep. This text was taken from Royal Road. He had levelled up and that twice! Also, the two elemental magic were now shown in the screen and his intelligence increased remarkably. It was perhaps due to the visions and his new spirit which he had summoned. When he stepped into the open and headed to the waterfall where his master mostly meditated, he saw how Celia followed him. She greeted him and then want ahead to his master. His master still in the meditating position greeted him and then got up. He looked at Celia and then at him. ¡°My disciple. The first thing I must teach you is: how to summon and send your spirit back. You can¡¯t let her run all day in our world. She will become weaker with the time flowing. You need to give her a rest in the spirit world. So, look closely.¡± His master told him that he had to think about her and then she would be summoned. The returning worked the same. Every time you summon an elemental spirit it will need some of its own element to appear. While you have just to think about her she will appear but in returning she will need some elements of this world. Its like a shell for them. The element is their linking to this world. With that they can hold onto this world.¡± Ragen nodded he thought something like this was the condition for the summon. His master looked at Celia and then said: ¡°Your element is water. So, it¡¯s quite easy for you to summon her. But be prepared that she could take water from your body to appear. Don¡¯t summon her too much in a short time or you will be dehydrated.¡± His master went to the nearby river and said: ¡°If you are near some water like this than just summon her as many times as you want. She will always draw water from natural sources instead of her master.¡± He went back and looked at Celia then he said to Ragen: ¡°Good now you can send her back. I want to train with you.¡± He followed his master commands and sent her back. ¡°Now that we are alone, I want to know how far you progressed with your magic. Show me what you are capable of. Attack me first with everything you have and then defend yourself.¡± Ragen looked at his master and then started. He first shot some water balls at his master which were quite useless against the almighty barrier of Bane. Then he created a 3-meter-high wave from the river wit his magic. When even that failed, he used his magic to turn the water into ice spears and throwed them at Bane. But it was all useless his master stood there like a rock. He looked at the magic and shouted: ¡°You still have much to learn. Now defend yourself I will attack you!¡± Ragen instantly casted an ice barrier around him and hid himself in a giant waterfall. What he saw next struck him in awe. His master opened his hand and had a green flame in it. He hold the hand in front of his mouth and blow a bit into his direction. The green flame flew like a small leaf into his direction. Around two meters in front of his ice magic barrier it exploded into a green hell. The ice just evaporated in an instant. He felt how the heat came to him. The water around him started to boil and he needed all his magic to cool it down that his water ball didn¡¯t turn into a giant stew with him as an ingredient. When the green fire went out, he fell on his knees. Most of the water ball had evaporated and the rest was hot water. His master went over to him and said: ¡°You still have much to learn. That wasn¡¯t even around 10 % of my power and you nearly died. First rest. I think you have around two weeks from for free time. I have something to do. Until I come back you can do what you want.¡± He looked up at his master and asked: ¡°Where are you going master?¡± His master shrugged with his shoulders and then said: ¡°I need to acquire some training material for you. Naida will take my soul to a special place. My body will be here, but I will sleep until I return.¡± His master wanted to get some training material for him? Whatever, he was pleased that he could have some free time and he now could visit his commander and the village. He told his master about his short plans and his master agreed to them. Then Ragen went back to sleep and rest for a bit. After some hours of rest, he prepared everything and headed out towards his village and his commander. What possibly could have happened there that Unoreth told him to come?
