《Douluo Dalu Fanfiction: The Journey of Li Tian Tian》 Chapter 1: One body, three memories On a sunny afternoon day, within a range of tall mountains covered in a dense layer of green vegetation, one can hear the sounds of many beasts of the land and air going about doing their daily activities. Some are hunting for food while others are being hunted down as food. Some are also fighting with each other for territories. However, all of these beasts have one thing in common; each one possesses terrifying powers that are enough to destroy a city inhabited by normal humans. Suddenly, an uproarious laughter sounded within a mountain range. The laughter managed to scare the beasts so much that they abandoned whatever they were doing and hid themselves inside the first place they can find. ¡°I did it! I finally did it!¡± shouted the voice. ¡°I finally understand the secret to reincarnation. I can finally run away from those bastards and hide myself in one of the lower realms. They will never expect me to do something like this at all. When the time comes where I become much stronger than I currently am, I will get back at them for chasing after me for so long.¡± When the voice ended, a streak of light can be seen rising up from one of the mountains up into the sky, piercing through the clouds. From the distance, waves of powerful spiritual undulations can be felt approaching. When it ended, two figures can be seen floating on top of the mountains. ¡°Damn it! We let him get away¡± said one of them. ¡°We missed the chance of snatching that treasure from him.¡± The other person replied, ¡°He better hide himself well otherwise he is going to suffer a lot when we catch him.¡± After saying these words, both of them flew away into the distance. All the beasts slowly came out of hiding while looking at the sky with fear. Meanwhile on earth A group of two boys and one girl were walking down the road as they finished school. They all appeared to be discussing a new game that is going to be released with a great amount of interest. Clearly, it must be something really popular among the youth judging by how enthusiastic they were. ¡°I can¡¯t wait to try out the all new game called Sword Art Online when I get back home.¡± Said Wu Tian, the only girl in the group. ¡°Yeah, I can¡¯t believe how long the line to the store was on the day the game was out on sale. Good thing we waited in line all night in front of the store, else we would not have been able to get a copy.¡± Added his friend Li Di while pumping his fists into the air. This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. ¡°Let¡¯s quickly go back to our homes so that we can log in as soon as the game launches in about an hour.¡± Said Li Ming, the third guy in the group. He was the most excited among the three as he had always dreamed of becoming a warrior in a fantasy world. Everyone agreed to what Li Ming said as they were all eager to reach home as early as possible to take care of all their necessary tasks so that they can log into the game and play without anything to stop them. Hence, after saying goodbye to each other, they all went their separate ways at the crossing. However, just as Li Ming was crossing road, a group of reckless boys riding a motorcycle appeared at his side of the road. As they wanted to avoid waiting for the green signal, the rider decided to speed up and ignore the red signal and go through the crossing. As a result, when Li Ming appeared in front of them, the rider got panicked and used the brakes as hard as he good. This caused the motorcycle to skid across the road and crash onto Li Ming. Li Ming did not expect that anyone would try to break the signal. Therefore, he was careless while crossing the footpath and ended up in the motorcycle¡¯s trajectory. When he finally noticed, it was already too late. The motorcycle had already appeared in front of him. The sudden misfortune that appeared in front of him rendered him completely immobile due to fear. Thus, he could not avoid his fate and got ran over. The sudden noise of the accident prompted Li Ming¡¯s friends who were nearby to turn back to look at what was going on. When they realised that their good friend was involved in the accident, both of them rushed up to him. At this point, all the nearby vehicles had stopped around them. There were also a few voices shouting for someone to call an ambulance and the police as soon as possible. When they could finally see him clearly, they were horrified to see the injuries that he had sustained. There, Li Ming lay on the road in a pool of his own blood. The impact from the motorcycle had flung him a few meters back into the middle of the crossing where cars and busses were crossing. If Li Ming could somehow survive the crash, he certainly would not survive being run over by a bus. Seeing this horrifying sight, Wu Tian with a pale face started to fall to the ground. The nearby Li Di quickly extended his hands to support her from falling. After receiving support from Li Di, she started to wail hysterically on his chest. (Author¡¯s Note: That is why you should always stick to traffic rules when riding or driving on the road. While walking, always be aware of the surrounding vehicles to avoid such a thing happening in real life.) At night in the Douluo Continent Inside a cottage in a village on the outskirts of the capital city of Star Luo Empire, Star Luo City, a young girl lay on her bed soundly sleeping. The innocent expression on her face while sleeping would make anyone looking at her want to pinch her cheeks. Suddenly, the girl opened her eyes as if something had startled her awake. ¡°Where am I?¡± the girl groaned as she sat up with a confused mind. A lot of memories started flashing in her mind. After some time, she said, ¡°I remember now, my name is Li Ming. Why am I still alive? I thought I died in that accident. Where is this place, and why does my voice sound funny?¡± As she said those words, she looked down at her body. Noticing that something was off, she quickly removed the blanket that was covering her body. When she saw what was underneath the covers, she got the fright of her life. There lay on the bed a girl who had yet to reach puberty. Suppressing her urge to scream, she thought, ¡°Why am I a girl? How did I end up in this body?¡± A lot of questions started to fill her mind at this point. Suddenly, she entered into another state of epiphany. This time, it lasted for a shorter period of time. When it ended, a lot of things became clearer to her. She had received the memories of the young girl from the time she started to remember things to the present. ¡°So my name is now Li Tian Tian. I seem to be six years old this year. I seem to be living in a place close to Star Luo City of the Star Luo Empire in the Douluo Continent.¡± As she thought up to this point, she lay back down on the bed and fell asleep, as her body became tired from the sudden douse of memories it received in a short period of time. As she lay sleeping, her tired mind started to assimilate all the new memories so that her body can adjust to the sudden increase in information. Chapter 2: The awakening ceremony Early in the morning, Li Tian Tian woke up feeling refreshed. Remembering last night¡¯s events she quickly looked down to check her body. ¡°So it was not a dream. I really have died in that accident¡± she said sighing. ¡°I was looking forward to play Sword Art Online as well. I wonder how those two are dealing with my death.¡± After lamenting about her death for a while, she decided to update herself on her situation. ¡°According to the memories of the girl, my name is now Li Tian Tian and I live in a place called the Douluo Continent? It¡¯s quite different from earth. Let¡¯s see, the people living here seem to have an ability called martial souls which they awaken at the age of six, and if you get lucky, you might be one of the few who will have soul force. These people can cultivate to become soul masters. It reminds me a lot about the wuxia novels that I used to read back home.¡± After going through the memories of the girl, she found a few more things. For instance, today is the day of her own awakening ceremony. She would be going with her parents to the town hall to have her martial soul awakened. Another more important thing she noticed is that there seems to be another set of memories in her mind as well which did not belong to the girl. However, even after she tried very hard, she could not make any sense out of it as it was too vague and blurry. ¡°I wonder whose memories are those. I just hope that it is nothing bad.¡± She mused. At this point, a voice came from downstairs, ¡°Breakfast is served! Come have it before it gets cold. We still have to go to the town hall after this as well!¡± Hearing the voice, she quickly changed her clothes according to how the girl would always do in her memories and go downstairs to the kitchen. Once there, a beautiful woman of around twenty five could be seen standing in front of the stove preparing to serve breakfast on the table. Sitting on one side of the table, there is a man around the same age as the woman sipping a cup of coffee. He had a handsome face with a head full of blue hair, a contrast to the black hair of the woman. The couple she saw are naturally her mother and father respectively. Her silky black hair were inherited from her mother. ¡°Good morning dad, mom.¡± She greeted and went to her usual seat, which is to the right of her father in accordance to her memories. ¡°It¡¯s a good thing I have inherited her memories else I wouldn¡¯t know what to do in this situation.¡± She thought as she sat down. ¡°Good morning.¡± They both replied. ¡°So my little princess, are you nervous regarding your awakening ceremony? You don¡¯t seem as cheerful as you usually are.¡± Said her father who seem to notice something was different with his daughter. This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it ¡°Oh honey, you don¡¯t need to worry. You will always be our beloved daughter no matter what martial soul you awaken and regardless of whether you have soul power or not.¡± Added her mother. She nodded her head as a sign of saying ¡°yes¡± to her parents and began to eat the breakfast which is served on the table. In truth, it¡¯s not her fault that her parents noticed something different about her behaviour. Even though she had inherited the memories of the young girl, she found it embarrassing to act fully on the mannerisms that the girl had after having lived for sixteen years as a boy. Just thinking about being in a girl¡¯s body would make her embarrassed a little even without the acting. After having breakfast, the family waited for fifteen minutes before setting out for the town hall that was just a thirty minute walk away. While walking through the village, she looked all around her to take in the scenery. Even though all of these were within the memories of the girl, actually seeing it for herself was a whole new experience. Occasionally, there would be some people who would greet her parents and wishing them good luck for the awakening ceremony of their daughter. In response to the greetings, her parents would always thank them politely for their well wishes. When they reached the town hall, they saw that a few other families were already present. The families were waiting for their turn to go inside to awaken their child¡¯s martial soul. People could be seen coming out with a variety of expressions. Some were happy, some were disappointed, while others were indifferent. Li Tian Tian¡¯s father went to sign her up at the registration counter. After waiting for some time, it was finally her turn. The family was led by a staff member to one of the rooms in the town hall. Inside the room sat an old man with a circular array in front of him. After getting instructed by the staff, Li Tian Tian walked up to the old man and held her arm up towards him. Placing both his arms on her, he said, ¡°Don¡¯t be nervous. Stay relaxed as this will not hurt.¡± After saying some reassuring words, he spoke with a loud voice, ¡°Martial Soul, Awaken!¡± Immediately, her body started to glow brightly, blinding everyone within the room. After a few seconds, the glow slowly faded to reveal her silhouette. However, there appeared to be nothing different that happened to her. Feeling perplexed, the old man asked, ¡°Child, do you feel anything different?¡± In response to his question, she answered, ¡°Yeah, it feels like the world has suddenly become much clearer to me. It¡¯s as if all my senses have become sharper.¡± Hearing the answer, the old man exclaimed, ¡°She¡¯s got a very rare martial soul; her brain. Quick, let¡¯s see what her innate soul power is.¡± Sensing how the old man was agitated, the staff member quickly brought forward the soul testing orb to the old man. Receiving the orb, the old man quickly instructed Li Tian Tian to place her hands on it. Complying to his instructions that bordered towards being an order, Li Tian Tian quickly placed her hands on it. However, even after waiting for a few seconds, nothing seemed to happen. The old man sighed in disappointment, ¡°Haah, I got excited for no reason. She has no innate soul power at all making her just an ordinary person. What a waste, what a waste of such a martial soul.¡± Upon hearing what the old man said, her parents also couldn¡¯t help feeling disappointed in their hearts. No matter how much they told themselves that it didn¡¯t matter what the results were, they could not help feeling that way. They tried their best not to show it in their expressions and went to console her. ¡°Don¡¯t worry honey, it¡¯s alright even if you have no soul power at all. With the help of your brain martial soul, you can still do many things.¡± Said her mother trying to comfort her. Standing by the side, her father said, ¡°Let¡¯s go, there are other people waiting to get their martial souls awakened.¡± The family was escorted by the staff member to the outside where he led another family back in. Even though they tried to hide it, Li Tian Tian could still sense the disappointment in her parents¡¯ emotions with the help of her newly awakened martial soul. Chapter 3: Another way to cultivate After arriving home, Li Tian Tian went straight to her room and locked the door in order to avoid getting disturbed. Her parents thought that she was depressed by the results so they did not go to disturb her in order to give her some time to herself. The reality of the matter was much different from what her parents thought. During the awakening ceremony where her body started glowing for a few seconds, something special had happened within her mind. A part of the second set of memories which she received suddenly became clear as soon as her martial soul was awakened. Even though it was good news, she chose to remain silent as her intuition told her not to say anything about it yet. Thus she waited until she got back home in order to make sense of those memories and to ponder on whether to tell the truth to her parents. Slowly, dinner time arrived and the family gathered it. By this point, she had made up her mind to tell her parents the truth. After all, she did not want to keep the secret all to herself and telling the truth would lift of a lot of pressure from her shoulders. As she sat down at the dining table along with her parents, she said with a bit of hesitation, ¡°Dad, mom, I have something important to tell you.¡± ¡°What is it sweetie? If it¡¯s about your awakening ceremony, you don¡¯t have to worry. Your dad and I don¡¯t mind your result.¡± Said her mother. ¡°Yes, it¡¯s related to that but it¡¯s not what you think. You see, I have two secrets that I want to tell you. Promise me that you won¡¯t do anything.¡± She said with a bit of fear of how they will react with her confession. ¡°Don¡¯t worry my princess, we promise you that whatever your secret is, we will not punish you, right love?¡± Her dad said while turning to her mother to which she approved, ¡°Of course!¡± Feeling a bit reassured, Li Tian Tian began to recount everything that happened to her. ¡°Dad, mom, I¡¯m not exactly your daughter.¡± When she said this, she looked up at her parents to see their reactions. Noticing that there was no change, she continued. ¡°I¡¯m actually from another world. It is very different from this one as everyone over there does not have any martial souls or soul power.¡± When she said these, shocked expressions appeared on her parents¡¯ faces. However, they did not say anything and let her continue. ¡°In that world, I used to be a teenage boy called Li Ming until I met with an accident where I met my end over there. Who would have thought that I would be lucky enough where I would wake up inside the body of your daughter? I¡¯m really sorry uncle, auntie. I don¡¯t really know what happened to you actual daughter, but I¡¯m afraid I might have killed her when I woke inside her body last night as I seem to have inherited her memories.¡± At this point Li Tian Tian broke out into a sob. Hearing this, the couple sighed. ¡°Who would have thought that this is actually what happened. We actually noticed something was wrong with you in the morning, but since we could sense our daughter¡¯s aura within you, we did not say anything. Everything makes sense now after you told this to us.¡± ¡°If my conjecture is correct, nothing has happened to our daughter. The reason why you feel as if you have taken over her body as well as her life is because your past life memories were so well preserved that it overpowered the memories of your time prior to your awakening. After all, you were more than twice your current age in your previous life.¡± Said her dad.A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. He added, ¡°Although I must say, doesn¡¯t this make our daughter special my love?¡± ¡°Yes, I¡¯m so proud of her.¡± Said her mother while going to give Li Tian Tian a hug. Hearing her parents¡¯ words, Li Tian Tian felt comforted in her heart. Thus, she started crying even more she lay in the woman¡¯s arms whom she started to truly accept as her mother in her heart. Tonight will be one of the most memorable nights for her as she had gained people whom she could call her parents because when she was Li Ming, her parents died when she was of a very young age. After they died, her relatives who were well off took care of her. However, due to their busy schedule, they never really interacted much. This left her with a lot of free time to do many things without restrictions. Even though she had a lot of freedom, she always envied those kids who had parents to look after them. Although the independence had given her life skills in order to survive, a child still needs the love of their parents during their early phase of life. As a result, at this moment, after confirming her new parents¡¯ stance on this matter, she was filled with a lot of happiness which made her cry a lot more. Although she started crying due to guilt, she ended up crying tears of happiness in the end. After a few more coaxing, her tears finally ended. ¡°Thanks mom, thanks dad.¡± She said after all the crying. ¡°Why are you thanking us? Isn¡¯t it our job as your parents to make sure that our daughter is fine? However if you really want to thank us, you could tell us what the other secret of yours is.¡± Said her father. Her mother gave him a look after he said this. ¡°Oh I almost forgot.¡± Said Li Tian Tian noticing the awkward situation he was in. ¡°Remember I said that I am not from this world? After I woke up¡ err¡ after I awakened my memories last night, another set of memories were also imprinted into my mind. Although it¡¯s a bit hazy, I¡¯m sure with time they will become clear. Earlier today during the awakening ceremony, a part of that memory became clear when my martial soul was awakened. The part which became clear apparently teaches me a method to cultivate soul power. However, it required me to start cultivating it starting from zero soul power. That is why, during the awakening ceremony, using a method that I got from it, I dispersed my innate soul power without harming myself.¡± ¡°I chose to do that as according to the method, it will allow me to continue advancing without having the need to absorb soul rings from spirit beasts resulting in eliminating the need to find a suitable soul ring every time I reach a bottleneck.¡± Said Li Tian Tian. ¡°Interesting, but doesn¡¯t this mean that you will be forgoing the benefits of absorbing those rings?¡± asked her father. ¡°I also had this doubt, but I had a feeling that dispersing my innate soul power would be a better option in the long run.¡± Replied Li Tian Tian. ¡°Alright, since it¡¯s already done, there¡¯s nothing we can do about it anymore. Let¡¯s go back and rest. Today has been a long day, I need some time to digest all this information. Don¡¯t misunderstand, I really don¡¯t mind what has happened, it¡¯s just a lot to take in during a short period of time. I believe we no longer need to teach you how to meditate.¡± Said her father. ¡°Okay dad. I just have one question for you and mom.¡± Said Li Tian Tian. ¡°Okay, what is it?¡± Replied her father. ¡°How come you were so sure that you could sense your daughter¡¯s aura in me?¡± Asked Li Tian Tian. Hearing this question, her father looked at her mother who gave him a nod. Seeing the look of approval from her, they both released their aura inside the room at the same time. Two yellow, two purple, four black, and one red soul rings appeared on both of them. The rings appeared only for one second before they vanished as the couple retracted their aura. Li Tian Tian was in awe to discover that her parents were Titled Douluo, something that was very rare amongst the populace of the continent. These people can be considered the cornerstone of every kingdom as they can influence the tide of war in a very big way. She now understood that if her parents still could not do something like this, they would no longer be considered Titled Douluo. Even the Li Tian Tian in the past did not know that her parents were Titled Douluo. They always kept it hidden from her until today when they felt it was time to reveal it to her. The family exchanged ¡®goodnights¡¯ with each other before they went to sleep in order to digest the day¡¯s events, especially for Li Tian Tian, taking into account the emotional rides she had during the day. Tomorrow will mark another important day for Li Tian Tian as it would be the day where she begins her journey to cultivate into becoming an Immortal, something she had still kept from her parents as it still seemed to be absurd to her.
