《A Time for Leisure》 Prologue On the continent of Tairo, mortals tend to live a very content life, even if most of them are under the fingers of cultivators. The strength of cultivators, even the weakest of them can easily kill 10 mortals in a few swipes. The strongest do not even need to be near them for their lives to end abruptly. Cultivators can be seen everywhere, maybe a young child walking around the streets, maybe an old man begging for money in exchange for a fortune, or maybe that nice older woman down the road. While some prefer to hide their cultivation, most love to flaunt their power in front of people that they deem to be unworthy to even be in their presence. Most of the time, it''s young cultivators that think their strength can rule the world. Cultivation is a long and arduous task for many to even begin, all the mindless killing for resources, accidentally offending a clan and having to hide and get stronger for even an attempt at revenge while the clan tries to hunt you down for some petty reason like not showing respect to their younger generation. Then there''s our protagonist, a monstrosity at cultivation, but that is his only talent, he is youngest person to ever achieve Godhood, but he''s tired of all this mindless killing even on the higher realms, the only reason he ever went through all this bullshit, was just so that he could relax and not have to worry about not being able to protect himself from idiots attempting to murder him for some stupid reason, and now that he''s at the top of the world, it still keeps fucking happening? "Screw this shit, I''m still young, why would I want to kill random people I don''t even have a grudge with all my life?!" (Caz)Love this story? Find the genuine version on the author''s preferred platform and support their work! Caz couldn''t take it anymore, he was only 23 for crying out loud, did people really expect him to do this forever?! What if I want to find love, marry a couple thousand ladies and settle down?! WHERE''S MY CHOICE?! He was "forced" to help the other Gods with random things, most had to do with taking care of rogue Gods that just happened to piss off someone that they should have avoided. The only good thing about going to the higher realm, is that the Goddesses there were world dominating beauties, at least he could flirt somewhat with them, the age gap between them wasn''t a very major thing, since the lifespans of cultivators is almost endless, even at the lower levels. In the end, he didn''t have much more to do anymore, there weren''t any important things that had to be done, just lazing around was his routine for a few years. No one really ever tried to mess with him, for some reason, he was curious, but didn''t really feel like asking. Caz couldn''t really take the boredom anymore, the Goddesses were busy with matters in their clans, the Gods as well, even some of his closer friends had no free time to even grab dinner together, so he had a lucrative idea, what if he just goes down to the lower realms? That sounds like fun, a whole new adventure to play around with. Most people spend most of their beginning cultivation years within the lower realms, but Caz was an exception, as he was a monster when it came to cultivation, he was blindingly fast when it came to "leveling up", so he only spent a good 3-5 years down there before he ascended. It''s pretty weird for a 15 year old boy to just suddenly ascend to the higher realms by himself. "Hmm... I do still think about the people in the village from time to time, old granny Johanna made the best muffins, eh fuck it, might as well have a little vacation, I think I deserve it! Look at me, the most handsome Devil you''ll ever see, who would dare say I don''t deserve a little break?!" (Caz) And so, just because he missed the muffins from his village elder, the young God decided to take a little break from this duties, let''s see how much of a mess he''ll make, shall we? Chapter 1: Guess Whos Back? A tear in the space suddenly appeared at the edge of a lush green forest, surrounded by many huge trees. The trees were huge, even 4 burly men couldn''t wrap their arms around them. Inside the space crack, a young man stepped out warily, looking at his surroundings with a cheerful expression. The young man was Caz, unsurprisingly. The place he just "teleported" to was near the Kalo Village, the same village that Caz spent most of his earlier cultivation days in. The village wasn''t the best place to enjoy cultivation in. The Qi density was almost depressingly scarce, though not very surprising. Almost every being in this world absorbs Qi, people, beasts, plants, and even the giant trees in the forest. Trees take up quite a bit of Qi, though it doesn''t do much for them because they take up so much Qi, over half of the absorbed amount begins to slowly excrete its way through the trees husk, and that excretion is called ''Spirit Sap''. Spirit Sap is a very valuable thing that many cultivators covet, though not very helpful at the later stages, many lower stage cultivators would literally kill just to get a lick of it. Caz looked around with a nostalgic expression on his face. It had only been a couple years, but he still held this place close to his heart. Most of this was because of the village that he used to live in. Though some people there didn''t take too kindly for a Devil to move in suddenly, they warmed up to him eventually. There are many different races on Tairo, but as you would probably assume, Humans practically rule the world. This isn''t very surprising, given how many humans there are, even on the other continents. The only ones that come close to Humans in power would have to be the Devils. Unfortunately, Devils are a very rare sight to see nowadays. After the Great Destruction War that happened about 4 Centuries ago, the Devils went into hiding, hoping to save their kin from the clutches of the victorious humans. Humans are known as being very greedy, even towards their own kind. Then again, what race doesn''t have even that slightest bit of greed? Most continents are ruled by a Human power, though there are a few exceptions. Tairo isn''t one of those exceptions, as it is ruled by the so-called ''Human Emperor'', some random Half-God that couldn''t break the shackles of the Mortal world, he had the talent to break through, but who in their right minds would leave all the power that he held at the tip of his fingers, just to start over again in a shitty "Higher World". Going back to the present, Caz had an idea of where he was currently located. He figures that he was very close to his old Village. The distance between the village and the forest was less than a mile. Caz thought about just teleporting a bit further and getting to the village instantly, but he felt like just enjoying the walk would be way better. He got especially excited imagining the expressions of everyone when they see their "precious" little Devil boy come back. About a mile away, there were 2 guards standing outside of a certain village. The guards didn''t look very intimidating, as shown by their carefree attitude. The village was a relatively cheerful place, occasionally a fight would break out between two drunkards, but the worst thing that would happen is that someone would go home missing a tooth. The guards that were standing outside were just lazily keeping watch, one of the 2, George, was busily picking his nose, occasionally flicking it towards the other guard, Michael. The 2 guards were close friends after years of standing guard, but Michael was regretting every day of it, having to deal with this idiot. "You do that one more time, and I''ll let you pick this foot out of your ass instead" (Michael) Michael was visibly irritated, his left eyebrow constantly twitching, while his hand was slapping George on the back of his head. "Jeez, you''re no fun. I just thought you wanted an extra protein snack. It''s not good for your health to stand around in the sun all day without some nutrition, right?" (George) "I could say the same, the offer about my foot up your ass is still here, I''ll even throw in an extra fist to go down your throat, free of charge!" (Michael)Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon. While the 2 village idiots were bickering, a young man with an odd appearance was walking directly towards them, not very far from them. They didn''t seem to notice him as they were still fighting, but as he got closer, Michael finally noticed him. He quickly stopped wrestling with George and stood up straight to greet the new traveller. As Michael finally laid eyes upon the youth, they were soon as wider than a bowl, with his mouth slackjawed. George was confused with the look on his face and took a peek for himself. He quickly joined Michael with the same expression on his face. The reason they were dumbfounded was simply that they recognized this youth. Standing in front of them stood a man with a height that was barely above average, had a childish looking face with a relaxing and very cheerful smile waxed onto his face. His very short and black unkempt hair only added to his carefree aura. All of this would have made the young man a relatively attractive looking person, were it not for his unusual terrifying eyes. The entirety of both eyes was as black as the abyss, this wouldn''t have been enough to deter someone, but in the middle of those horrifying eyes, there were 2 long white vertical slits that closely resembled reptilian eyes. If someone thought that this was just some type of eye disorder, then they wouldn''t have an excuse if they saw his rapidly swinging string-like tail, pitch black as well with no fur, almost like a rubber line, the tip of the tail was shaped like an arrowhead. If you had some knowledge of the Devil race, you''d know that all devils had tails, the looks of the tips may differ from Devil to Devil, but the stringy base of the tail was the same. After a good 20 seconds, the Guards finally loosened up and a large smile taking up over half of their face appeared, replacing the dumb look they had before. They walked up the man and slapped him on the back before heartily laughing. ""Caz!"" (Michael/George) "I see that you 2 morons are still doing the same boring job, huh? It''s great to see you numbskulls again, I''m back bitches!" (Caz) The 2 guards quickly led him further into the village, where he got surprised stares from the ones that recognized him and curious stares from the newer ones he hadn''t seen before. After a good few minutes of walking, they reached a normal looking house with a white fence outside. Caz was kind of nervous when they were walking towards the door, as this was the house of his "granny". He felt kind of guilty to just walk back into the village without informing anyone, mostly because of how he left a few years before. He left a letter near his bed that just told everyone that he was going towards the higher realm to run a few ''errands''. As he was leaving the village that day, he was glad he left before Johanna could find him, as she would never let him go to a place that was filled with danger. All of a sudden, the door gently opened. Walking out of the house was a beautiful looking young woman, with long red hair going down to her back, matching her cute red eyes, supple and soft looking skin, cherry red lips and a voluptuous figure that would make even the Gods tremble in desire. Caz would have loved to admire the woman he spent most of his childhood with more, but he had a large chill run up his spine as her eyes met his. As the initial surprise left the woman, soon came to a wave of fiery anger that she had been holding for years erupted. She quickly walked over to the man and slapped his head over and over again. Slowly, the anger was fading, and with tears in her eyes, she stopped and fiercely hugged the man, sobbing quietly in his embrace, occasionally pinching him in different locations to appease her anger. After a few minutes, she slowly stood up and stared right in the eyes of Caz, those eyes which would make even the strongest military veteran have nightmares and slapped his head one more time. "Why?" (Johanna) "Why what?" Caz said in an ignorant tone, hoping to edge his way out of this demons embrace. "Cut the bullshit, you know what I''m talking about, leaving for that long and thinking a simple note would relieve the anger everyone felt. Did you think that no one would care if you left suddenly, you dumbass? Think about the others for once in your life, you idiot!" At the end of the sentence, Johanna was yelling loudly, with tears still in her eyes. Caz sighed, knowing full well that what he did was irresponsible, how could they not worry? A 15-year-old boy suddenly deciding to go into the Higher Realm. What kind of idiotic decision was that? Alas, there was not much they could do besides sit and wallow in their own anger. (I''m sorry, okay? I just had a feeling that if I told you guys, that you would lock me in my room until you could beat the idea of leaving out of my head. Don''t worry, I''m back. I don''t think I''ll be going back into the Higher Realm anytime soon, alright?" Even an old hermit would be affected by the tears of this young maiden, much less the young 23 year old. He quietly rubbed her head as she was still in a tight hug. "Mhm..." Johanna nodded and silently crawled out of the embrace and looked at Caz, the latter then cheerfully smiled and kissed her forehead quickly before backing off. Johanna was mildly blushing and tried to slap his head again, only for him to dodge the "attack" and quickly ran inside the house. "Feels good to be back, don''t ya think so, granny Hanna? HAHA!" Caz was laughing evilly while "granny" Johanna was furiously chasing after him as soon as he said the word "granny". Hearing the terrified screams of Caz as the door slammed shut, the 2 guards quickly walked off in terror of what would become of them if they stayed any longer Chapter 2: Reminiscence On that bright and sunny day without a cloud in the sky, the Village of Kalo soon heard the terrified cries of a young man, most knew of him, but the ones who didn''t were visibly shaken. To be honest, back before Caz had left the village, this was a relatively common thing to see. It happened at least once or twice a week. You see, it always starts with Caz doing something idiotic, sometimes on purpose, and sometimes by a complete accident. Most of the time, it''s just Caz being a smartass. While on his journey throughout cultivation, many things about Caz changed, but there is one thing about him that never changed, much to the dismay of anyone who has crossed paths with him. He is the epitome of a shameless person. He will openly admit to anything he has done with a straight face. Even if one of the most embarrassing things happened right in front him, he''d still have that cheerful and carefree expression on his face. Most of the people in the village, that are acquainted with Caz, still can''t figure out how Hanna has dealt with his shenanigans for so long. As soon as they heard the screams, they quickly had a dumb nostalgic smile on their faces, quietly remembering the old times of Caz being ''bullied'' by the serious Hanna. Caz and Hanna are complete opposites on the aspect of personalities. Hanna is a very serious person, and not many things can make her smile. One of the only things that made her genuinely happy, was seeing Caz scream like a little girl when she was angry. Caz and Hanna have known one another since Caz was found near the village, curiously walking around with an uncomfortable stomach. Some of the people were a bit scared to just suddenly see a Devil boy walking around, but Hanna wasn''t nervous. She quietly walked out and asked him if needed anything to drink or eat. Caz suddenly took that curious look off his face, and it was replaced with awe and reverence. ''Where did this lovely angel come from?'', Caz had these words in his head as soon as he heard the word ''food''. There is only one thing that can make Caz serious. Food. Even if he was in the fiercest battle of his life, as soon as he saw/smelled food, the bloodthirsty Devil was replaced with a young boy with drool creeping down his chin. He was known to drop anything and everything if food was in the conversation. Hanna at the time was just trying to help the boy out since he seemed like he was starving. She did not expect this little favour to change her life forever. It was only about a week after staying at the village, that the people started to see this odd Devil as their own. He might have been mischevious, naughty, and just a plain prick, but he had the kind and caring nature that they hadn''t seen in a boy his age. As such, even though their personalities attack each other, they still see one another as family. It would help that Caz had lived in the same house as her since the beginning. People were worried at first since one of them was a Devil and the other was just a little girl, but their worries quickly vanished as they realized that the little girl was actually a demon as well. Not literally a demon, she was still human. She just had the qualities that only a sadistic demon would have, and she loved to have a toy to tortur- I mean play with. They quickly started to become friends, and even after all these years of constant bickering, they still see each other the same way they did as kids. Most of the village people see this affection they show each other as pure familial love, while the elders among them know that there was more to see behind the walls of their house. It wasn''t that surprising, the familial love might not have been as impressive as when they were kids, but kids go through puberty. Who knows, maybe after all these years of staying beside one another, those pure thoughts the kids once shared might be corrupted by something known as ''love''. . . . . Inside the house, Caz was running away from the monster that kept him company throughout his entire childhood. This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there. "Hey, we can talk this out, right? It was just a joke okay? Do you really wanna hurt your handsome, heroic, and mighty childhood friend?" Caz was visibly terrified from the anger in the eyes of Hanna. "You''re right! Why should I bother hurting you?" (Hanna) "Whew. See? Was that so hard, of course, you wouldn''t touch a hair on my beautiful hea-" Caz was immediately cut off as Hanna leapt at him and started laughing like a maniac. "Why bother hurting when I can kill instead? Thank you Caz, you''ve really broadened my horizons!" Hanna was still laughing and started staring in the eyes of the person she was currently on top of. "Now that''s the Hanna that I missed!" Caz laughed as he tightly embraced the woman on him. If anything, Caz had truly missed the village, and especially missed his little demoness. Hanna expected the hug as she quietly returned the hug with tears threatening to fall out of her eyes. Caz might have missed the village, but the village missed him just as much, if not more. They were worried their little mischevious devil would suddenly find himself into a heap of trouble, given that horrid personality of his. What they didn''t know, is that they were dead on the money. His mouth had made many people try to kill him, he was pretty sure that he had offended almost every God or Goddess one way or the other, and that was his proud achievement, he had asked many times for an award because of this. They held each other for a few minutes while the tears of joy between them were still visible. Hanna was the most excited out of everyone in the village, why wouldn''t she be? The one she cherished the most had finally returned. She didn''t have many friends her age. Her parents had passed away at a young age, but before their death, they had hoped that this village might be a safe place for the young Hanna to live freely. They had begged the village elder to take her in as his own, and he reluctantly obliged. Even though he was hesitant at the start, it didn''t take long for the Elder to truly see this young girl as his own. To this day, he is still very overprotective with her, as she is his one and only daughter. On the reason of why she doesn''t like being called grandma, a few years before Caz had left, the 2 were on their weekly shopping trip to stock up on supplies. On the way, they met a couple of village children. They surrounded a smaller child with a scrape on her knee, with concern plastered on their faces. She had accidentally fallen while playing with her ball. Tears were filling her eyes quickly, and Hanna rushed over as soon as she saw the girl. Pulling a little vial of red liquid and a small napkin out of her pocket, she poured a small amount onto the napkin and gently started wiping the knee of the crying girl. The liquid was a simple Oroa Potion, it may sound fancy but it was mainly only used for small cuts and bruises. It would heal the skin at a fast rate and would fight against infection. It was pretty much just a liquid version of a pill but was much quicker. The little girl that was initially crying now had a huge smile on her face, and quickly stood up and bowed to Hanna. Hanna had a gentle smile on her face at first, but the little girl''s words still resounded in her mind to this very day. "Thank you granny!" When Caz heard it, he was almost certain that it was the loudest he had ever laughed. Since that day, Caz had repeatedly bugged her by calling her ''granny'' much to the anger of Hanna. She attempted to beat it out of his head every time, and to no avail. It seemed like it only made Caz say it much more often. Even after all these years, it still made her furious whenever Caz said it. The little girl that caused it would never know that such simple words caused the ''granny'' that helped her so much misery. While reminiscing about their younger days, their faces were unknowingly brought closer together. Caz was the first to wake out of his daze and stared into the little red eyes of his childhood sweetheart, a genuine smile had latched itself on his lips, and for the first time since Caz had come to this village, a tear could be seen rolling down his cheek. Hanna was a bit surprised, but as she was getting over the surprise, she was even more surprised when Caz suddenly put his lips directly onto hers. She struggled a bit in the beginning but very quickly turned into the more aggressive one as she strongly wrapped her arms around his neck and brought him even closer. It was like she wanted to pull the man she loved into her own body, and never let him go. Ever since Caz had left, her life had lost its glimmer, she felt like a large part of herself had suddenly flown outside of those tall village gates. All the pent up frustration she had felt over the years released when she saw the young man outside her door, nervously waiting for his deserved retribution. Her usual cold heart had instantly melted while she was in arms, while the tears rolling down her cheeks just wouldn''t stop coming. She was just hoping that all of this wasn''t just a realistic dream, while Caz was just immensely joyous that his demoness hadn''t changed throughout the years, and was still his little princess. Chapter 3: Flying Mountain Sect The days passed as Caz reunited with Hanna and the village. George and Michael were still the same brutes, the elders of the village were also more or less the same as well. Not all of them, as some of the older ones in the village had sadly passed away. Caz expected this but was still greatly depressed. He knew most of the ones who passed away, a nice grandma only 2 houses down, and a stern but kind grandpa who ran the bakery in town. After the grandpa passed, his nephew decided to take the business over in hopes of letting the grandpa rest easy. Caz didn''t want to let depression take over, so he decided to take a stroll around the village, mostly to catch up with his old friends. He didn''t really feel like just sitting inside all day, as he had been doing the past few days while ''catching up'' with Hanna. It was early in the morning when Caz stepped out but the village was still lively. People began walking out of their homes to work. Most worked in the shops the village had and the others had jobs outside the village, mostly gardening. Caz was greeted by some of the older folk as he passed by. Even though he wouldn''t say it, Caz has missed all these people dearly. It gets lonely in the Higher Realm sometimes, sure he had some friends but they didn''t visit very often. He did have one friend that visited quite often, though. A Goddess to be exact, she was one of the people who came to receive Caz when he ascended. People in the higher rankings would often attempt to seek out talents to see if they would join their clan or sect. If the person agreed, then they would be generously welcomed, but if they refused, they would take that as a personal insult and would most likely make you regret it by making your life hell. The woman came to him asking him if he would like to join her clan. He was originally going to refuse but luckily the woman mentioned one word that could make him completely obedient, food. She boasted about how the chefs that she had hired were top of the line and not even seen in the Royal Kingdoms. That''s all it took for Caz to be hooked and immediately accepted her offer with a serious face. While the woman was purely looking in the best interest of her clan, since who wouldn''t fight over a cultivation genius, they soon became friends. Caz had depended on her for many things, mostly knowledge about the Higher Realm. As Caz was walking around the village, Michael and George were curiously watching as a caravan was slowly making its way down the old beaten path. One look at the people around the caravan and you could tell that they belonged to a sect. The duo didn''t have a clue as to why there would suddenly be some cultivators around these parts. Most of the time, it''d just be simple merchants coming back and forth throughout the forest. The caravan stopped a few feet in front of the duo and a woman suddenly jumped from the top of the wagon. She walked up to Michael and George and bowed. "Hello there, apologies if we have startled you, we were simply hoping we could trade some supplies and tools for food? We''re from the Flying Mountain Sect. We were sent by the sect to complete a mission but unfortunately, we underestimated how long we''d be gone and didn''t bring enough supplies for the entire caravan, would it be possible for us to purchase some food from this village?" The woman sounded polite, which surprised the duo. Most cultivators are snobby pricks who love nothing more than to think that everyone and everything is below them. The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation. "Of course, we just had a pretty good season here so we have more food than needed at the moment. I''d recommend going to the general store, it''s one of the first stores you''ll see on the inside. Owned by Phil, he should be able to get everything you need." Michael responded with a smile while giving directions to the woman. The woman had gorgeous looks with a cute but mature face, long green hair with yellow eyes. A body that could easily be comparable to Hanna, while having a much more mature and sexy feeling instead of Hannas young and innocent aura. Her long legs made her taller than the average woman. She nodded and gave her thanks to the duo and led her companions inside. She noticed that the village was quite a bit larger than she had originally expected. She saw the general store that Michael told her about, it had a big sign out front with ''Everything Needed'' on it, appearing to be the store''s name. Reaching the front door she quickly walked inside and was greeted by a young Devil man cheerfully talking to an old bald man at the front desk. She was shocked to see a Devil this far away from their home continent. Calming down, she quietly walked towards the front desk where the old bald man finally spotted her and ignored the man that was bickering with him. "Welcome to ''Everything Needed''! How may I assist you, madam?" The old man, Phil, gestured for the woman to take a look at the catalogue. "No need, I''d just like to purchase food of any type, 50 pounds of it." (Woman) "Alright, I''ll be back in a jiffy, Caz you lazy ass, come over here and help me carry this stuff." Phil started yelling at the man to come help him. "I can''t believe you''d make me use my frail body for such a barbarous act, how could you?" The young man said with a teary expression. Phil didn''t buy his bullshit and pulled him by the ear into the back room where Phil and Caz emerged about a minute later. Caz looked like a pack mule carrying about 7 bags on his shoulder. "Where should I take these bags, gorgeous?" Caz asked the woman as he made a charming smile, or so he thought. While he might have thought his smile was charming in his head, the woman had thought this smile was terrifying. It looked like his eyes were about to swallow her, but his smile brought her out of his daze. He had the smile of an innocent and gentle child while his eyes looked like they could stare into your soul. The woman quickly calmed herself, she might have been relatively young but she was still a powerful cultivator. "My name is Luri, not gorgeous. Please take those bags and place them at the back of the wagon, Mr Scary Eyes." Luri smiled as she made a joke in return. Caz laughed as he walked out of the store and quickly found the wagon. He placed the bags into the wagon and started talking to the other people that were apart of the caravan. Luri came out shortly after and saw the devil talking to her companions. She smirked and walked over. "Well, it has been a pleasure Mr..." (Luri) "Oh, the name is Caz. You probably heard the baldy call me that" Caz laughed as his gaze was completely focused on Luri''s chest. Luri had noticed this and started gently laughing. "I don''t know if you can handle this, young man. Many have tried and none have succeeded." She had a confident air as she spoke these words. These words ignited the inner pervert in Caz as he quickly put his hand up to her chin and looked into her eyes. "Maybe we can get to know each other a little better sometime?" He had a dumb perverted smile on his face. These words dumbfounded Luri as she was the one doing the teasing most of the time. There was a slight blush on her cheeks as she laughed loudly. "It''s been too long since a young man had the courage to talk to me this way. If you''re ever in Cou Kingdom, find the time to visit me. I''m almost always inside of the Flying Mountain Sect. Just ask for Elder Luri. See you later sweetheart." Luri waved to Caz as the wagon slowly departed into the forest. Caz had a mischievous grin on his face. This grin only meant one thing, something had piqued his interest. If any of his close friends saw this smile, they could only feel pity for Flying Mountain. "A sect, huh? I''ve never had the chance to visit one. I wonder if they accept devils?" Chapter 4: A Whole New Adventure After watching the caravan leave, Caz walked back to Phil before leaving the store to go back home. He had been walking around for a few hours now, mostly playing around with the children and catching up with friends. He thought more and more about the sect Luri had told him about, sects had always intrigued him. Caz never really did anything a normal cultivator would do when he started and because of this, sects were a new thing for him. He saw a few up in the Higher Realm but most of them wouldn''t allow outsiders to come inside, he could have forced his way in but he had a feeling he''d be scolded by the older gods. Those damned old fogeys. They would yell at you for hours, going on and off topic many times. Caz still has nightmares of when he was scolded for 11 hours straight. Walking back to Hanna''s house, he casually walked inside to see Hanna still sleeping. Like the gentleman he was, he wasn''t going to wake her. That would be a very rude thing to do, with that said, he jumped directly on top of her and started screaming "WAKE UP WAKE UP". She woke up with a start and when she realized what he was doing, she quickly beat the snot out of him. A few minutes later he was on the floor with stars in his eyes. Hanna laughed at his miserable expression, Ignoring him she walked into the kitchen and started making breakfast. Caz jumped up instantly at the smell of eggs and toast. He sat down at the table and stared at Hanna with puppy dog eyes, Hanna tried to pretend he didn''t exist to no avail. She finally gave in and made him some as well. As they were eating their breakfast in blissful silence, Caz suddenly broke it. "Oh yeah, nom nom, I thought about going to Cou Kingdom. I heard there was a sect called ''Flying Mountain'' near there. I''ve always wanted to experience a sect." Hanna was immediately angry. "Oh, so after only a week, you already want to leave? Nuh uh, if you''re going, I''m going. You aren''t ditching me this time." "That''s why I told ya dummy, but I''m going to go there on my own first. To check everything out and make sure it''s safe for you." Caz bullshitted. The only reason he wanted to go alone was so that he could have more chances to flirt. He was also interested in the food, Hanna wouldn''t let him eat as much as he wanted. Then again, his stomach was a bottomless pit, a whole kingdom probably won''t be enough for his desires. You need to make sure it''s safe for me? When we both know that you''re probably the strongest person on the Lower Realm right now." Hanna said seriously. She didn''t buy a single word coming out this idiots mouth. "Uhm. Y-yes?" Caz gave in. He didn''t really have an excuse for the sudden downfall of his genius plan, how could this demon see through his plan? If one had to know, it took Caz 15 minutes to come up with this plan. His close friends would be filled with disbelief if they knew Caz thought for this long. "*sigh* Fine, you just make sure that you come right back to pick me up. You have 2 weeks to get it done with. If you aren''t back by then, hmph." Hanna had a furious and manic expression. Even though Caz had a God Cultivation base, he wouldn''t dare underestimate a woman''s anger. "O-okay darling, just put down the knife. I''ll be back to get you as soon as possible." Caz tried to reason with the raging monster as she eventually calmed down. Caz thought about leaving tomorrow morning but decided against it as it was still early currently. He then made up his mind to leave at noon. He was just going to teleport near the entrance of the Kingdom and attempt to make his way in. He didn''t want to sneak or force his way in. That is just savage, how could I lower myself to a mere criminal? I''m a young noble devil, the embodiment of all that is holy! As Caz was embracing Hanna, he had somehow elevated his own position as he added ''holy'' onto his ''noble'' title, he had also made the noble title long ago for himself as well. Caz held Hanna in his arms for hours until the time finally came for him to depart. Luckily, this time he''d be back within a week or two. "I''ll find you myself if you aren''t back soon, understand?" Hanna held his head with her hands and looked into his eyes while she had a ''friendly'' smile on her face. "Yes, Master. This lowly slave wouldn''t dare disappoint!" Caz said seriously whilst saluting. "Good. Now leave before I change my mind." Hanna said this with red eyes, Caz gave her one last kiss and secretly made another invisible barrier around her body. He did this once before he left the first time and now because he was stronger, he upgraded the barrier to the max. The barrier would simply guard against any attack that threatened her life. It would also reflect most of the attack back towards the assailant. Nothing in the Lower Realm would be able to hurt her, this put his mind at ease. Caz quickly teleported away before he himself changed his mind about leaving as well. --------------------- Outside of the giant walls of the central city of Cou Kingdom, a young man appearance suddenly jumped out of a space crack. While the man had an extremely odd appearance, his expression was even weirder. His face was almost entirely covered by the huge smile that he had. "Hehe, a whole new world for little ol'' me to explore." Just as he was about to walk towards the entrance, he was entranced by a certain smell. As soon as the smell entered his nose, he dashed towards the location of where the smell originated with a perverted smile latched onto his lips. Chapter 5: A Senior Sister A few hundred meters away from where Caz was, a young girl was sitting around a campfire with a big pot of what seemed to be stew. She had a cheerful smile on her face as the stew slowly cooked. The girl was Alicia Commery, a 16-year-old cultivator in the middle of the Body Strengthening realm. Comparing her cultivation to others her age, she was actually faster than most. While not a monstrous genius, she could easily catch the eye of powerful sects like Flying Mountain. She originally came from a relatively large city. The city itself was almost like a Kingdom, a small kingdom, but still bigger than most. She was the younger ''princess'' of that city, she had an older sister which made her the youngest and this made her father and mother pamper her to no end. While some would say she was a bit arrogant, they also knew that she had a heart of gold. Alicia would often teach the young kids nears the slums around her city. Things like how to read, write, simple math and other common things that they might need. Alicia learned that she had an innate talent for cultivation from one of her father''s friends. The friend of her father was a semi-powerful cultivator at the Martial Warrior realm. He noticed that her talent for cultivation was nearing even the genius level. He quickly recommended her to one of his buddies at Flying Mountain. The man''s friend was an Elder there and was more than happy to accept Alicia if she chose to join. After about a year of cultivating at Flying Mountain, she had rapidly advanced to the middle of Body Strengthening. She was quite happy with her progress as countless praises rained upon her from peers and elders alike. Even though some people might think that sect disciples treat one another as nothing more than cannon fodder, it''s actually only partially correct. While they don''t treat everyone they meet like their long lost cousin, it doesn''t mean that they despise every person they meet. It might help that Alicia is a beautiful girl, medium length white hair with blue eyes, pretty short standing at about 4''11 with a petite but growing figure. She always had an innocent and naive aura about her, and this hasn''t changed in the last year of cultivating. She was just returning from a sect mission, sects allowed certain people to propose quests for the disciples to take on. Once a mission was completed, they would be awarded money, but if it was just money then not many disciples would care for it. The main thing about missions is that they allowed you to get Sect Credits, the credits allowed you to purchase resources and Martial Art Skills. Martial Art Skills or just Skills were, in the simplest manner, just fancy moves that allowed for greater boosts to attack strength, agility and soul power just to name a few. Before heading inside of the city, Alicia decided to take a break from walking and set up a little fire to make a small pot of stew for herself. It had only been a week since she had left but it felt like an eternity for the young girl. Alicia was excited to just be back and out of harm''s way, accepting missions is very mentally exhausting, even for senior disciples. Something could go wrong at any minute. While making sure the stew was done, she grabbed a bowl out of her carrying bag and was about to dig in when she noticed a man who was sitting next to her with an expression that screamed ''feed me please''. "HYAAAAAAAAAAA!" Alicia started screaming and fell over. "KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" The main beside her let out a feminine scream himself. "WHY ARE WE SCREAMING?" "Who are you?! Where did you come from?!" Alicia questioned with a deadly but scared glare. She never even felt this man''s presence, she barely caught a glimpse of him when she grabbed her bowl. "Oh sorry! My name is Caz, I thought I smelled something delicious when I was about to enter through the gates, so I followed the smell and saw you. Can I have some?" Caz had puppy dog eyes that would make someone feel like petting him, or if you were Hanna, beat him.Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. "Why should I give you some? You''re suspicious, suddenly appearing like that out." Alicia had calmed down but still warily glaring at Caz. It was rare to see a devil on Tairo, especially a devil with this kind of appearance. She could justify the tail that was rapidly swinging from side to side like an expectant puppy looking for food, but those eerie eyes made her shudder. She would have instantly attacked the man if he didn''t have that childish smile on his face. Seriously, how can you have eyes like that, but still have the grin of an 8-year-old playing with his toys? Seeing the long vertical slits follow her around as she picked up her bowl made her feel creeped out, yet oddly safe. "Please?! I''ll do anything, I haven''t eaten in 2 hours! If I go any further, I feel as though my soul might soar into the heavens, would you let little ol'' me die from starvation? This would be bad for your karma, just watching a starving man while you eat a bowl of st-" "SHUT UP, SHEESH. Fine, I get it! Eat all you want." Alicia didn''t know this man, but she could feel that if she didn''t stop him from talking, it was a big possibility he wouldn''t stop talking for hours. "I knew you''d come around, they always say cute girls are the kindest. *slurp*. Oh god, this hits the spot. Delicious!" Caz had already grabbed a bowl even before she finished her sentence. Quickly slurping down the stew. "C-cute, huh. Maybe you aren''t so bad. My name is Alicia Commery, I was born in the city of Comm. Have you heard of it?" Alicia suddenly felt like this man wasn''t so bad if he could call her cute. Her future self would like to come back and slap her for this thought. "Comm, huh? Doesn''t ring any bells. This is my first time travelling around these parts, so I''m not surprised. As I said before, I''m Caz, no last name. If you haven''t noticed somehow, I''m a devil. Tails are neat, right? You humans should get some." Caz said while he had a curious tone, almost seriously wondering why humans didn''t have tails. "You can just grow a tai- Whatever, why are you suddenly travelling to Cou? Any reason in particular?" Alicia asked with an inquisitive expression. "Hmm, not really. I just felt bored and wanted to explore. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I was going to see if I could see the Flying Mountain Sect thingy." Explained Caz with a cheerful smile that only children would have. "I see! If you want, I could guide you towards the sect! Coincidentally, I am a disciple of that sect. I''m sure you could join if I put in a word for you. How about it?" Alicia asked him with a happy face, she always wanted to be a senior sister who helped her juniors with cultivation problems. She mostly wanted to do this to get back at her sister. Alicia''s sister was a Disciple of the Ferocious Fairy Sect. It was an all-female sect, they didn''t have anything against men, it''s just that their founder only taught girls in her younger days, so they just kept up with tradition. Adding onto that, most of their techniques weren''t suitable for males anyways. Her sister loved her, a bit too much. Since the Sects were relatively close, she saw her sister quite often. She always helped Alicia with any question towards cultivation, so this ignited Alicia''s determination to become a senior and guide juniors as her sister did with her. "Hmm. I have a question before I answer." Caz said with a serious face. It was like his cheerful and carefree attitude didn''t even exist. Alicia was stunned and slightly fearful of his aura but still nodded. "O-of course, ask away!" "Are the female disciples just as beautiful as you?" Caz still had the serious look, as though this question would decide life or death. Alicia didn''t know how to respond at first but when the question finally clicked, her face had a blush that extended to her ears. Stuttering slightly after a bit, she responded in a small voice, "yes, t-there are even ones that I can''t even compare to." If Caz''s ears weren''t amplified by his cultivation, he would have never heard her. He looked angry when he responded. "What? You dare lie to me?" Caz said while he quickly stood up and looked offended. "W-what do you mean, I told the truth!" Alicia looked very confused as she was still somewhat stuttering from her previous blush. Caz started laughing. "You did lie to me! How could there be someone more beautiful than our very own Alicia?! Show me the way so that I may rip the disguise from their face!" He thought he looked like a mighty hero in his head. Alicia just thought he was a moron. "Ehehe~. While I do appreciate the compliment, please do not start clawing at the faces of the disciples." She warned him with a joke. For some reason, she felt that if she didn''t do this, he would really jump on random people and attempt to take their "disguise" off. Caz laughed while his cheerful expression quickly came back. "Fine, I would never do that! *Probably*." "Did you just mumble something after that?" "No." "Hmm, alright then. Enough talk, let''s head into the city. It''s almost noon. You have some of the weirdest luck I''ve seen, the yearly entrance exam at around 2:30." Alicia said as she was looking in the direction of the Kingdom. "Huzzah! I knew those lousy Gods would bestow me with their luck!" Quickly holding a small pot with both hands, he slurped the rest of the stew down while a dumbfounded Alicia was staring at him. He put the pot down and patted his stomach with a burp. Alicia laughed loudly at the sight. ''What a weird man''. What Alicia didn''t know, was that this ''weird man'' was going to bring endless grief towards the elders of Flying Mountain. Chapter 6: Mine After walking for a few minutes, they reached the front gates. As most cities or towns have, there is an entrance fee. For Alicia, this wasn''t a problem as she already had her cultivator badge. Every disciple or elder of the Flying Mountain Sect would have a badge that allowed them a small amount of authority within the Kingdom. Caz wasn''t the same, he didn''t even have the money to get in. No one ever trusted him enough to even carry a few coppers. The last time he was given money was back in the Higher Realm, one of his close friends had given him the exact amount of money needed to buy a mansion for Caz to use. Things didn''t go the way his friend intended as Caz spent exactly 5 million gold on candy. How Caz had found so much candy that it was worth the same price as a mansion, his friend would never know. Caz was in a small predicament until Alicia told the guards that he was with her. The guards were slightly shocked to see a disciple of Flying Mountain outside of the sect. "Okay, we still have about an hour or so until the entrance exams start, so I''ll show you around the city," Alicia said with a bright smile, still eagerly fantasizing about teaching her future juniors. "I''ll give you a couple silver coins to spend on anything you might need." As soon as the words left her mouth, the money in her hands disappeared along with Caz. She was dumbfounded for a second until she saw Caz again next to a stall that was selling sweets. Caz currently had a doughnut in his hand while he was using his other hand to eat a cookie. He had a look of pure bliss on his face. Alicia started thinking about if it was a good idea for this man to join the sect. If one didn''t know, after the entrance exams were over, the Elders of the sect would prepare a feast to celebrate and give the new disciples a warm welcome while the older disciples would mingle with them. She could imagine the look on his face if he passed. Now that she was thinking about the entrance exam, she forgot to ask if Caz had a cultivation base already or not. Some people join sects only after they have set foot on the cultivation path. Most of them are still ordinary mortals with a little extra talent when joining, however. Alicia thought about just checking for herself but decided against it. She couldn''t feel any cultivation aura at all coming from his body so she just thought that he was a mortal. This might also explain how he sat beside her without her noticing. After chasing Caz around for 20 minutes, the time for the exam was near. She quickly scolded Caz for eating so many sweets before dragging him by his ear towards the centre of the city for the exam. They soon saw many cultivators and mortals alike brimming with excitement at the chance to join such an illustrious sect. Meanwhile, Caz was picking his nose with a bored expression as he sat in line. Alicia had excused herself as she quickly found some of her friends and sat down beside them. She watched Caz pick his nose while her face twitched with anger. His face had more excitement when he was eating the cookie earlier compared to his. Shouts were heard up ahead within the exam area as a young woman fought a skinny but tall man. The young woman was one of the current princesses to the Kingdom. While Alicia and she might have the same princess title, they are worlds apart in terms of rank. Alicia is only the princess of a small-to-medium sized city while the young woman was the princess to one of the bigger kingdoms in Tairo. There was only one trial that the students had to go through. It was a simple fight between one another. While you were encouraged to go all-out, they wouldn''t allow you to kill your opponent. The young woman/princess was standing over the kneeling man with a sword to his throat, even though the man had lost, he still had a bright glimmer within his eyes. He was actually quite honoured to fight the so-called ''Battle Princess''. While the princess had never actually participated in a war, she was known to be quite the battle maniac. Even at the ripe age of 20, she was already at the Foundation Establishment realm. While she was a once in a lifetime genius, this was to be expected from the daughter to the Holy Couple, the King and Queen of Cou Kingdom. They had quite a reputation in their earlier days. The princess had quite the advantage compared to others taking the test, so the elders had made exceptions for the losing side. If they could last a certain amount of time while fighting the princess, they''d still be allowed to join the sect. They had to make a new rule out of nowhere, it wasn''t unexpected, though. The princess was the only one here within the new disciples with a Foundation Establishment cultivation. Even if she somehow lost, they would gladly take her as a core disciple. Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. Caz watched the fight for about 3 seconds until his mind was occupied with something more important, something that could very well end the world. Trying to get the booger out his nose. The feisty little thing wouldn''t give up. Without him noticing, the line shortened and shortened until he was next in line. The sect elder watching over the exam was stupified when he saw the young man in front of him. The main reason was because of his serious expression while picking his nose, the second reason is that he was of the Devil race. While the people in Tairo didn''t discriminate much with some of the other races, it was still very rare to see anyone other than a human. Especially those odd eyes, while some races had different eyes, he''d never seen a type of eye quite like this. Quickly snapping out of his thoughts, he quickly got the young mans attention by waving his hand in front of his face. "Excuse me, young man, you''re next in line. Hurry up to the stage, please." The elder said with a slightly angered voice. "Oh. Sorry gramps, I was fighting a war." Caz said with a confused smile. "So I just have to fight someone and then I''ll be able to join the sect?" "Fighting a war with boogers.... *sigh*. Yes yes, just hurry. Make your way to the stage and wait on your opponent. Don''t lose too easily haha!" The sect elder said with an evil laugh. ''What poor luck this fool has, the princess is going to wipe the floor with you.'' Thought the elder as he watched the cheerful man walk up the stairs leading into the fighting area. As Caz entered the arena, his opponent was already waiting for him. It was the princess that he saw earlier. He smiled and waved at the girl. "Hey, cutie! How about we meet up for a meal after the fight?" The princess was surprised that someone dared to talk to her this way. Most of the time, people would hurriedly walk away whenever they saw her, in fear of offending the Kingdom. Now after all these years of being avoided, someone actually offered to take her out on a date. She slightly smiled, at least this guy was interesting. "Alright, sure. I''ll accept your invitation. If you can beat me, that is." She replied back in a slightly mocking tone. "Really?! Woo! 2 beauties in one day, what more can a guy ask for?" Caz did a victory pose as the princess laughed a bit. "So all I gotta do is defeat you and you''ll accept? Challenged accepted, girly!" The princess was a bit irritated with his response but her interest in the guy had increased. What kind of backing or skill did this man have to talk to the princess this way? She held up her sword and slowly got into a fighting stance. Caz just awkwardly sat there making no movements towards her. This made her a bit angry, she''d show this guy what it meant to not take her seriously. She charged at him in a zig-zag movement with a lightning fast speed. After only a second, she was already behind him and was about to swing down onto his shoulder. As soon as the blade was only an inch from his shoulder, the sword flew out of her hands and embedded itself within the arena walls. The princess was struck dumb as she looked at her hands where her sword once was. She quickly got over the fact that she didn''t have a sword anymore and was about to charge with her fists when she realized that she couldn''t move. She quickly found the reason she couldn''t move, his hand was wrapped around her neck and was holding her in the air. She looked down into his eyes and her soul almost jumped out of her body. A dark bottomless pit sucked her into as she fell into despair. She was going to die here. All her hard work was finished, now all she had to do was sit back and wait for the demon to put an end to her life. There was nothing she could do as 2 tears slowly worked their way down her cheeks. She opened her eyes as she was curious as to why she was still alive. She looked down and saw that her feet attached themselves onto the ground again. The princess turned her eyes toward the direction of the man when she felt something soft on her head. The man was staring at her with a worried expression. "Are you okay? I didn''t hurt you, did I? I could have guaranteed that I didn''t use any force." His hand was attached to her head and she felt a warm sensation journey through from the top of her head into her body. The despair she felt quickly vanished as a soft moan escaped her lips. All she felt was pure relaxation. She opened her eyes again and saw that the man was looking into her eyes with a curious expression. "You''re okay, right?" Caz asked her while he still had a worried expression. "...mhm" The princess meekly nodded her head as she was shy from seeing the concerned look on the man. The only other people that would give her this much concern could be counted on one hand. Her father, her mother, her older sister and her personal maid. "Whew, that''s good. Then why were you crying? Damn, don''t tell me you find me so unattractive that you''d rather die than go on a date with me?" Caz joked with a horrified face. ".....ahahaha......Ahahahahaha!" The princess couldn''t take it anymore and burst out laughing. She actually laughed for almost 2 minutes, the longest she had ever laughed since she was born. Caz had a wide smile on his face the entire time, wondering if his jokes were that good. "It''s good to see you''re okay, don''t forget about our date, okay? It''s not good to lie." Caz reminded with a laugh of his own while still patting the head of the princess. "Hehe, I''ve decided." (Princess) "Decided what?" Caz responded with an inquisitive tone. "I''ve decided that you''ll become mine" The princess replied with a creepy smile that made even the young God tremble for a second. The response had completely dumbfounded Caz and the audience. Chapter 7: The Monster Hunts While Caz was shocked, the audience went into a meltdown. Their jaws touched the floor as they stared at the two in the arena. Earlier when the sword flew out of her hands, the spectators were slightly shocked. The princess was in the early Foundation Establishment stage after all, so if one wanted to deflect an attack like that, they''d either have to have a higher cultivation or some kind of defensive treasure. The treasure route was a no-go. All of the people who decide to take the exam are thoroughly searched to make sure they don''t have an unfair advantage. The higher cultivation route was about the same. A cultivator will leave some excess aura around them that depicts what stage they are in. The young man, Caz, had no aura whatsoever. They had assumed that he was a mortal. While you might think that it is unfair for a mortal to fight someone with a cultivation base, the sect didn''t care. This rule, while very brutal, teaches their disciples that the world is a vicious place that waits for no man. That said, they would have easily accepted Caz if he had even lasted a second against her. Any mortal that can even stand in a cultivators aura is deemed worthy to Flying Mountain. While they were still trying to figure out how Caz had deflected the attack like that, they were in disbelief as he held the princess in the air by her throat. None of the elders watching the tournament had even noticed Caz move before the girl was in his hand. They were about to put an end to it before things got worse. Even though they were a very powerful sect, they still didn''t want to offend the Kingdom. The Patriarch of the Flying Mountain Sect was very good friends with the current King of Cou. If the kings youngest daughter were to be injured or even killed, they couldn''t imagine how angered the Patriarch would be. He had considered the princess to be his granddaughter since she was born. Some say he even doted on her a bit too much. They saw the man quickly put her down and pat her head. They didn''t even think about if this was an attack as the man had a worried look latched onto his childish face. All of them saw the look of despair on the princess'' face disappear as it if were never there and be replaced by a look of pure bliss as she even quietly moaned in satisfaction. Some of the elders saw this and were visibly shocked. They could see small strands of Qi making their way through her body as they healed any type of damage, mental or physical. The personal handmaiden of the princess was about to intervene when the princess had started laughing. Seeing the princess laugh so genuinely had shocked the handmaiden. She could count on one hand about the number of times the princess had laughed. The handmaiden had a small smile on her face before it froze over. "I''ve decided that you''ll become mine." This small sentence had made several people suddenly faint. Some of the older ones had their hands over their heart as they started breathing heavily. Going back to the present, Caz was shocked for a second. "Wh- Become yours? Why would I become your property?" He asked with a stupid expression. "My property? I meant to become my frie- Actually yeah, become my property. *ehehe, once you''re mine, our time together will increase*" She had muttered something under her breath at the end. Unfortunately for her, Caz had the hearing of a God, quite literally. He had visibly paled at the amount of obsession in the young girl''s eyes. "O-oh. I see, h-haha. I don''t think I can do that at the moment. I want to put my full attention to cultivating in the sect." Caz bullshitted with a straight face. "That''s fine since I''m joining the sect as well, we''ll be near each other 24/7, isn''t that great?" The princess didn''t care for his excuse. In her mind, there was nothing Caz could do to escape. Her creepy smile had appeared again. "Haha, y-yeah, that''s great. By becoming your property, do you mean a servant?" Caz questioned warily, he had no experience with this type of girl. "Servant is fine too, you''re making really good points today. I''ll ask daddy to open a slot for you to be my personal servant as well. Even better!" The princess was slightly blushing and heavy breathing as she recalled the gentle face he had when he was healing her. "Hehe, while the offer is ''very'' attractive, I''ll have to decline," Caz replied with a dry expression. While any sane man would instantly agree to become a servant to a beautiful woman who had long white legs, a very curvy but small body with long blonde hair coupled with small cherry lips and a pair of white eyes that could make any kneel in pleasure, he wasn''t that type of sane man.The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. Well, it can''t be said that he wasn''t fully okay with declining. He was quite tempted to accept, in all honesty. The girl was absolutely adorable, it was just a shame that she had this insane aura around her. The look in her little white eyes that were filled with obsession scared the shit out of Caz. "You decline? Huhuhuhu, why would you do that? Be a good boy and come here." The princess tilted her head cutely, well it would be cute if her face didn''t have that manic smile. To a bystander, this smile would be enough to make their heart flutter. It made Caz''s heart flutter as well, but not in the same way. It was as if Caz was a small pig waiting to be slaughtered by a magical beast. "YesIrefusehaveagooddayprincess" Caz quickly said then dashed off to get finish the exam. Running towards the elder who was still dumbfounded, Caz grabbed his sect uniform and badge and ran towards the Sect with the speed of a thousand men. The audience was only now waking up from their daze as they started laughing. It seems the princess had met someone she liked. They felt that the young boy had too much luck. If Caz could read their inner thoughts, he''d beat the daylights out of them. Why don''t you come down here and take my place? My body doesn''t feel safe around this girl! Making his way towards the sect, he was stopped by the guards outside. "Show us your badge!" When he felt like he was at a safe distance from that ''monster'', he stopped and had a sigh of relief. Caz walked up to the guard that shouted at him and took the badge out of his pocket. Now that Caz could get a look at it, in the middle of the badge, a mountain was engraved. ''How unoriginal'', he thought. The guard nodded his head and told Caz where to go. The guard had noticed that Caz was most likely an eager new disciple by how fast he was running. He was reminded of his earlier days and shook his head with a bitter laugh. The guard gave Caz a slap on the back and told him to follow the road to meet the elder that looked over the new disciples. Quickly thanking the guard, Caz walked on the path. Caz was taking in the scenery for a few minutes before he met the elder that the guard was talking about. A middle-aged man with white hair, it seemed the man was older than what his appearance showed. "Only one this time?" The elder asked Caz with a dumb look. "Oh sorry, I was just too ''eager'' to get here so I ran off after I got my badge," Caz answered with a sheepish grin. "Haha, it''s fine lad. It should take a few minutes for the others to get here, then. I''ll take you to your residence. If you didn''t know, all new disciples get their own residence. It''s more like a large hotel, actually. You happen to have a large amount of luck, as your room is on the first floor." The elder laughed as they continued to walk. "First floor? How many floors are there in total?" (Caz) "Oh, I forgot to explain. Sorry, lad. It seems my age is catching up with me. There are only 4 floors in each residence. While this may not seem like enough to hold all of the new disciples, it''s actually more than enough. Each room is very large with enough room to even practice in. The housing we''re going towards now is for the newer disciples. Each rank of disciple has their own residence according to that rank. The inner sect disciples have a much bigger residence compared to the outer ones. Lastly is the core disciples, they live near the top of the mountain, alongside the elders. There are only a few core disciples, so they do not take up much space." The elder explained with a small smile on his face. "I see that you have an inner sect badge, not bad for a newbie, hahaha!" "Inner sect badge? There are different badges?" Caz asked with a curious tone. As Caz had never really entered a sect, this was all a new experience for him. "Yes, the outer sect badge has 1 mark on it, the inner has 2, and core disciples have 3. Each rank has their own set of authorities and responsibilities. Outer disciples have a small amount of authority and not many responsibilities. Inner disciples have much more authority with around the same amount of responsibilities as outer sect disciples. Core disciples have insane amounts of authority, almost reaching an elders level, and they have little to no responsibility". "Hmm, I see. I''ll have to trouble you for other questions some other time, gramps." Caz said while he digesting the knowledge. "Ahaha, good kid. We''re here." The elder pointed to the large building in front of them. While it wasn''t anything extravagant, it was the fanciest thing Caz had seen so far in the Mortal Realm. Walking inside, the elder asked the one managing the house to give him the key to room 16. "Here ya go lad, it''s just right down the hall. Have a good rest, come back soon if ya need anything, haha." The elder handed Caz the key and walked through the front door. Caz walked down the hall and quickly found his room, it was one of the first ones. Unlocking the door, Caz quickly walked in and shut the door. the room had most of the things a person would need. It even had 2 couches that were very soft and bouncy. While the sect had strictly encouraged their disciples to never be lazy when it came to cultivation, they wanted them to at least have a comfortable place to relax. Even someone at the later stages of cultivation would have to relax every now and then, lest they wanted to enter a stressful form of Cultivation Deviation. Slumping down onto the couch with a lazy expression, he closed his eyes, or at least he wanted to. He had almost closed them when a knock at the door suddenly woke him out of his daze. Annoyingly, the lazy young master jumped off of the couch and walked towards the door. When he opened it, he wished that he would have just ignored it. Outside of his room, the princess was standing there with her trademark creepy smile. "Now that we have met each other once more, allow me to introduce myself. I am the youngest princess of Cou Kingdom, Amelia Cou," Amelia bowed as she finished her introduction. "Now, why did you run away from me, Caz?" She stood up again and looked directly into his eyes, trying to pierce his soul. "Hello Amelia, it''s nice to see you again," Caz said. This would have been a normal way to continue the conversation if Caz didn''t quickly close the door as he said this. *BAM* *shnk* He didn''t forget to lock the door as he shut it. Chapter 8: Killing Intent You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story. It seemed Caz had found a blanket and pulled himself and Amelia under it. She was sitting right beside Caz as her body fell upon his. Her head was on his shoulder as his face was still on the pillow. Chapter 9: Idiot "What the fuck do you think you are doing?" Caz was extremely angry. This man had attempted to assassinate his friend right in front of his face. "W-who are you? Where did you come from?" The assassin would have kneeled in the face of this pressure if he wasn''t being held up. The assassin had no time to even think before Caz''s hand suddenly found itself latched on his throat. "Why do you want to kill her? Hmm?" Caz asked while his lips formed into a gentle smile. The assassin found this smile to be more terrifying even compared to his eyes. The assassin said nothing as he had sweat rolling down his face. "Don''t wanna talk, eh? Fine by me! It just makes my job so much easier." Caz flicked his forehead as the man was instantly unconscious. Amelia was still sitting there wide-eyed, Caz threw the assassin on the floor and walked over to her. She flinched as his hand landed on her head. She felt the same sensation she felt yesterday at the entrance exam flow through her body as she calmed down. "All good? It must have been quite a scare for some pervert to suddenly come into the house, right? I bet he must have wanted to steal my underwear. Disgusting!" Caz joked in an attempt to make her relax. Amelia instantly threw herself onto him as she wrapped her arms around him. Even though she was called ''Battle Princess'', it was more of a complimentary title given to her by her father. She had never participated in a war but she was well aware of the feeling of killing intent. Although she had felt killing intent before, it wasn''t anywhere near the same level compared to the assassin. The killing intent she felt before wasn''t aimed at her, the assassin, however, had focused the entirety of it on her. Caz smiled as he gently started to pat her head. "It''s alright, I''m here." This continued for a few minutes before Amelia finally calmed down. Slightly sniffing, she said "What do we do now?" as she looked up to him. Caz found this to be extremely adorable but it wasn''t the right time for this, unfortunately. "Hmm, we should go find Elder Diaz," Caz said after thinking for a bit. Elder Diaz was the elder that brought the disciples to their residence. "mhm, okay." Amelia gave a quiet nod. Caz separated from Amelia as he picked the assassin up with one hand and dragged him out of the hotel. Even though it was still very early, there were quite a bit of people around. Looking at Caz dragging someone, they were surprised at first but soon got over it. They had seen weirder things. "Excuse me, where may I find Elder Diaz?" Caz asked with a polite bow towards the residence manager. The manager glanced at the man. "Uh, sir? Who is this man and why are you dragging him?" The manager said while his mouth slightly twitched. "It''s an assassin. I caught him in my room." Caz didn''t say much but the words had terrified the manager. The manager, while not the strongest in the sect, was still very strong. He had not even noticed this man come into the residence and he had been standing at the front desk since yesterday. The manager had cold sweat running down his back, this ''assassin'' could have killed him at any time and he wouldn''t have even noticed. "Elder D-Diaz should be around the front gate. He usually stands guard there." The manager said with a slight frown on his face. How could this boy take out the assassin of which even he couldn''t detect? Caz quickly gave his thanks and walked out the door with Amelia. Caz had knocked the poor assassin into the next world as he wouldn''t wake up anytime soon. While walking down the road towards the entrance, Amelia played with her fingers as she thought about the previous experience. Luckily Caz had been there or she would have perished right then and there. This had made her terrified, but a strong resolve could be seen in her eyes. The resolve to get stronger. Finally reaching the gate, they saw Elder Diaz sitting in a chair while reading a book. Elder Diaz looked up and saw the duo walking towards him with a person being dragged behind them. He frowned a bit and stood up. "Good morning, who is that and why are you dragging him?" Elder Diaz said with a slightly annoyed voice. He could feel a headache coming on.Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road. "Good morning Elder, this man is a big pervert. He tried to sneak into my room and steal my underwe-," "Shut up! This man came into the room and almost killed me! I would have been dead if Caz wasn''t there. Where were you, huh?" Caz tried to speak first but was quickly interrupted by Amelia with a snarky remark. "What?! You''re sure?" Elder Diaz was shocked, how could this assassin make his way to their residence without being noticed? Clearly, whoever wanted the princess dead must have paid top dollar. "As sure as shit, now where should we take this guy? I''m getting tired of holding him," Caz complained as he starting stretching lazily. He didn''t get enough sleep last night and this guy just had to come knocking. Amelia gave a quick jab to his stomach. "We must take this man to the Patriarch, he will contact the King. Normally we''d just kill this man but since the life of the King''s daughter is on the line, we can''t do that." Elder Diaz was quite worried about this, he knew he would be reprimanded for such a major fault. He grabbed Caz, Amelia and the assassin and started flying towards the top of the sect. Landing on the ground near a giant door, Elder Diaz inserted the head of his ring in a little hole. The door slowly opened with a loud creak. "Come on, we haven''t got all day," Elder Diaz said as he started walking again with a brisk pace. Before long they came up to another door, this one was much smaller but had a sturdier feeling than even the giant one. Elder Diaz walked up to the door and gently knocked in a weird pattern. "Come in." An old ancient voice echoed from the other side of the door. Elder Diaz gently opened the door and gestured for Caz and Amelia to walk in. "Oh? Hello little Amelia, it''s nice to see you again." The Patriarch said with a smile. The Patriarch looked like a kind old man that you could find anywhere, but his vigour was still visibly going on strong. He had ignored Caz''s presence when he saw Amelia. She was basically his granddaughter, why would he care about some random new disciple. He had a gentle smile on his face until he saw the unconscious man. His expression suddenly changed as he looked a bit serious. "Greetings Patriarch, I apologize on the sudden disturbance but I thought this was of great importance. An assassin was caught sneaking attempting to murder the princess." Elder Diaz bowed and said with a very respectful tone. It was clear that he had fully admired this Patriarch straight down to his bones. "Hmm, I see. And why did no one detect this intruder?" Patriarch Mountain said with a grim tone. This little girl was basically a long lost relative to him, why would he not be fuming when he heard that she was almost murdered. "We believe the assassin has a cultivation base that rivals even the stronger elders, sir." (Elder Diaz) "A very strong assassin sent to kill a mere Foundation Establishment cultivator? How cowardly." Patriarch Mountain snorted with disdain. The elders of the sect were at Core Formation or above. The stronger ones were even at the Spirit realm. "And how did you catch this assassin, then?" "None of the elders can take credit for this one, sir. This young disciple knocked the assassin out and brought him to me." Elder Diaz said before making a weird face at the end. He had never realized, how had this young man knocked out an assassin at the Spirit stage? Why did he never question this? It was almost like his body assumed this to be a natural thing. "What? You expect me to believe this child has done what even the elders couldn''t do? Do you take me for a fool?" Patriarch Mountain was fuming once more as he even stood up. "I don''t see the big deal, he''s just a mid-Spirit stage cultivator." The disciple in question lazily scratched his head and looked at the Patriarch with a bored expression. "Who said you could talk, young man?" Patriarch Mountain said as he sent some of his aura towards this youngster. He meant no harm, he just wanted to teach this child some manners. "Calm down old man, I''m just as anxious as you. My friend was almost murdered and you''re more worried about how I act?" Caz said with a slight smile on his face. The Patriarch was slightly stunned for a second, this young devil really had some guts, he had to admit. Looking at the young man now, he was quite surprised to see a Devil around here. He had seen quite a few in his time but he never recalled any being in the sect. Most chose to cultivate in other continents where there were more races besides humans. "Hahaha, you''ve got some guts, kid! I like it." Patriarch Mountain suddenly laughed as he slapped Caz on the shoulder. "One second, let me contact her father, he needs to know about this." Patriarch Mountain went to a corner in the room and lightly tapped on a small rune. The rune lit up and the place began to glow as 2 figures suddenly appeared in the room beside Patriarch Mountain. It was a man and a woman, the man was quite handsome with medium length brown hair with blue eyes. The woman was like an exact replica of Amelia with blonde hair and white eyes. "Mommy, daddy!" Amelia exclaimed as she ran towards them with a big smile on her face. "Amelia!" The woman quickly walked towards her and tightly embraced her. These 2 people were the rulers of Cou Kingdom, the King and Queen. They had already been informed by Patriarch Mountain as soon as he touched the rune. They had quickly teleported here through the Teleportation Device in the rune. The King smiled as he watched his wife and daughter, but soon his attention was turned to the lazy looking Devil standing next to Elder Diaz. "I heard that you saved my daughter. I don''t know if I can believe that a young man like you saved her from a Spirit stage assassin, I don''t want to accuse you but it seems very likely that you''re an accomplice to this man." The King said as he eyed Caz with a wary expression. "Father!" Amelia yelled when she heard this, she wouldn''t just sit there and listen to him berate Caz as if he was the assassin''s helper. Caz just stood there while calmly picking his nose. "Are you some kind of idiot or something?" Chapter 10: Protect "Are you some kind of idiot or something?" Caz asked while he still had a lazy look on his face, the look made anyone who saw it want to give him a good beating. "Hmm, perhaps. I just can''t trust you at the moment, your motives aren''t clear." Even the Queen was surprised that her husband wasn''t fuming. The King calmly looked at Caz as if he hadn''t heard the earlier remark. "My motives, huh? To be honest, I don''t really have any at the moment. I just want to experience something new, ya know?" Caz said sincerely. He truly hadn''t thought of any goals, yet. He just wanted to escape the boring life in the Higher Realm, he didn''t carefully think about his plans, he sort of just did it on a whim. "I see. Though this does give me some relief, it still doesn''t seem like you should be able to fight this assassin. By the look of things, you shouldn''t be a day over 25. What is your cultivation, lad?" The King said with an oppressive aura towards the end of his sentence. He needed to make sure his daughter wasn''t in danger while she was around this boy. It was quite clear that Amelia had certain feelings for the boy but this wasn''t enough to just let her constantly stick to him. The King was a Middle stage Heaven Defiance cultivator and even then, he couldn''t see any cultivation aura around this boy. The only close thing that he could see that might have anything to do with cultivation would be his eyes. These eyes were simply abnormal. It wasn''t rare for a cultivator''s eyes to morph into something different compared to their natural ones if they practised certain techniques, but he had never seen any type of eye that even remotely resembled Caz''s eyes. The King was very curious about his eyes. What kind of technique could this boy have studied for his eyes to become like this? He would ask if it wasn''t considered rude to ask a fellow cultivator about which technique they cultivated in. "My cultivation? As I told your daughter earlier, somewhere beyond the Zenith realm. I haven''t checked it in quite some time and I haven''t felt the need to, still don''t." Caz said honestly, even though he didn''t quite like the King''s attitude it was still reasonable for him to act this way since his daughter was on the line. "Zenith Realm? Hmm, I do not think I''ve heard of this. Do you perhaps come from a different continent? I''ve heard that some continents have their own cultivation realm names," The King pondered over the name ''Zenith Realm'', it sounded slightly familiar but nothing really came to mind. "Ah yes, I do come from a different continent but I don''t think that it has different names for cultivation realms," Caz said as he playfully smiled at Amelia who was playing with his tail. "Which continent do you originate from, if you do not mind me asking?" (King) Caz just smiled at the King and said nothing. The smile contained small amounts of sadness and nostalgia. His eyes seemed to lose focus for a bit before quickly returning to their natural terrifying hue. The King simply nodded his head and once again turned his attention to the assassin. He slowly put his hand over the man''s head and quietly said ''Soul Memory''. While others might not hear it, Caz did. ''Soul Memory'' was an ability that allowed people to search through the memories of the victim. While not dangerous to the person using Soul Memory, it was very lethal to the person that they were using it on. At the very least, they would suffer from brain damage and become mentally unstable for their entire life. At the worst, their brain would explode the second Soul Memory was completed. The King did not care of this assassin died, interrogation was the least of his worries since he had Soul Memory to help him. There was a slight problem while doing this, though. Someone had placed a seal on his memories, this wasn''t very uncommon as many Assassin Organizations would use this to keep both the identity of the customer and the location of their Organization a secret from anyone that might soul search them. The King would normally be able to instantly crack the seal but this time it seemed like the assassin had come prepared. He had used another seal for his soul, while memory and soul seals were normally quite easy for a powerful cultivator to break, once they were used together, this would only decrease the chance of being able to successfully complete the soul search. While The King could break both of the seals, he would need at least 4 hours. Although he could easily use Soul Memory for that long, the assassin would be dead within the first hour from the intense invasion towards his brain and soul. Caz noticed this and secretly a small invisible strand of Qi into the soul to drastically weaken it. The King instantly noticed that something strange had happened and sent a grateful glance at Caz. After only a minute the King had successfully completed his soul searching and immediately erupted into complete anger. "How dare he do this to me! I have treated his family with nothing but respect since they came to live under my name, and he repays me with this?!" The King was bright red with anger, you could almost see smoke coming out of his ears. "Dear, what''s wrong? Who are you talking about?" The Queen was no fool, she knew that her husband had use Soul Search and had found out who the perpetrator was. "Duke Qoe! That traitorous bastard was the one who ordered the assassin to murder my daughter! He figured that when she was out of the picture, it would be one less royalty to worry about," The King had a murderous expression on his face when he said these words. He still couldn''t believe that one of his most trusted allies would stab him in the back like this. The King''s emotions were out of control, he was depressed, vengeful and angry, but none of these could make him feel any less betrayed. Duke Qoe was one of his most personal friends, he never thought that there would be a day like this. "Duke Qoe?!" The Queen was equally surprised and angry, she and her husband had always thought of Duke Qoe to be like an older brother that they never had, all of that family love had instantly flushed itself down the drain when she heard that the Duke had wanted her own daughter to be murdered. She would make the Duke regret being born. ''No one will touch a single hair on my daughter''s head.''This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it. Amelia was surprised that her own Uncle Qoe would want her to be murdered, he always doted on Amelia when he stopped by, giving her presents, sweets and toys. She was heartbroken to hear that one of her only uncles had wanted her to die simply because she might be a liability in the future. Tears started forming near the corners of her eyes as she stood there. Her mother noticed this and quickly ran over and embraced her. Amelia quietly sobbed while her head was on her mother''s shoulder, even while all this was happening, she still had her hand on the tail of a young devil close to her. For some reason, this tail gave her a sense of security and comfort. Caz just sighed and let her do whatever she wanted, it wouldn''t be right for him to ignore her in her time of need. He too had felt the intensity of betrayal once, it''s a very painful experience to even think about. How could this girl who is barely 20 withstand the emotional abuse she was going through without any type of love or care from others? His tail gently wrapped itself around her hand like a tiny snake climbing a tree. He watched as the King started talking to Patriarch Mountain about his daughter''s situation. He asked if it was possible to hold her in the sect for the time being, at least until he fixed this whole thing. Luckily, it wouldn''t take more than a few days at most. While Duke Qoe was a power cultivator with a private army of over 2000 men, this meant nothing to the King and his own personal army. He would completely wipe Duke Qoe from existence for this little stunt he pulled. Walking over to his wife and daughter, he gently started to pat her head as he listened to the sobs of his youngest princess. While the heartbreak from the betrayal of his closest friend was immense, his heart felt like it was wrangled by a wolf as he saw his little girl crying. Duke Qoe would no longer mean anything in the Kingdom after today. "Sweetie, listen. Your mother and I are going to take care of this, immediately. Please be obedient and stay within the grounds of the sect for a few days until this blows over, okay?" The King had tried his best to sound as gentle as possible to avoid any further heartbreak from his daughter. It probably hurt him and his wife more to see their children cry than anything else they could think of. Amelia didn''t reply immediately but slowly nodded her head as she wiped the tear stains from her cheek. She knew that she was probably safer to stay here than to go back to the palace. Even though the Elders hadn''t detected the assassin, this was because they had never experienced something like this before. No one dared to attack someone within the sect before, so they didn''t have any caution towards these types of things. Now, however, they would constantly be alert. In the coming days, the elders seemed like completely different people as they guarded certain areas like their lives depended on it. They would not let something this idiotic happen again. "Lad, please protect my daughter while she is here. I know that you''re stronger than you look, you might be even stronger than me. I just can''t let a single thing happen to my daughter, I can''t let another mistake happen," The King seemed almost melancholic as he said these words to Caz. "Please honey, if you can''t do this for us, do it for my little girl. I can tell that she has a place within your heart already, so I don''t think any more words of encouragement are needed," The Queen added in as well. What mother would she be if she didn''t want her daughter to be safe? Caz sighed and nodded. While Caz didn''t say anything, he would never let anyone hurt Amelia. Even though they had only met the previous day, he felt a special bond with this girl. Although she might be a bit possessive and a bit terrifying at times, she was just a spoiled little princess. "Let''s go, we need to settle this before the situation becomes something more disastrous. Once again lad, please protect my daughter," The King had grabbed his wife after hugging Amelia and quickly leaving through the Teleportation Device. Patriarch Mountain just quietly sighed as he looked at Amelia. ''This poor little girl, already experiencing betrayal at such a young age. Hah~, at least she will have to rely on this devil boy for the moment.'' "Alright, you''re all dismissed. Amelia, stay with this young man for a few days, he will be able to protect you. I''ll also assign a few elders to secretly guard the residence for extra protection, though hopefully, you won''t need it." Elder Diaz didn''t walk them back as the Patriarch asked for him to stay. "Keep an eye on Caz for a while, we still do not know of his history. He doesn''t seem like a threat towards Amelia but for all we know, this could be an act." "Yes, sir. Would it be possible for me to state my opinion on the matter?" Elder Diaz was very humble and respectful while in the presence of the Patriarch, the complete opposite of his carefree nature on the outside. "Of course, Diaz. I keep telling you that you do not need permission for such petty things." (Patriarch Mountain) "Thank you, sir. While the others might be suspicious of the young man, Caz, I for one do not feel any hostility or malice from him. And, on the assassin matter, I feel like it''s almost impossible for him to be an accomplice. While I cannot feel any cultivator aura on him, for some reason, whenever he stares at me, my Qi turns completely docile, as if it would be useless to even attempt to fight back. With that said, the princess also apparently slept within his residence yesterday, he could have murdered her at any given time, but he didn''t," Elder Diaz politely explained his reasoning as to why he trusted Caz. Patriarch Mountain nodded as he thought about what Elder Diaz had said. He was about to reply to him about the matter when he recalled that Elder Diaz said that Amelia stayed in Caz''s room yesterday. "She did WHAT?!" Patriarch Mountain''s roar could be heard all the way throughout the hall of his chambers. --------------------------- Caz and Amelia were silently walking towards back towards the residence. Amelia was still holding onto his tail as she walked a bit behind him. "I''m sorry," Amelia suddenly said while her voice sounded hoarse, probably from all the sobbing she had recently done. "Hm? Sorry for what?" Caz was momentarily confused. "I''m sorry for dragging you into my own troubles, but please, you''re the only one I can rely on at the moment," Amelia''s voice was getting even harsher as she talked. Tears threatened to appear once more as she tightened her grip on his tail. Caz sighed and suddenly walked towards Amelia and gently embraced her. She was a bit surprised but almost immediately returned the hug with an even tighter one. The young girl felt extremely exhausted from all of the sudden announcements today. She woke up to an assassin attempting to take her life, found out that her uncle was the one who ordered her assassination and then learned that she was to stay within the grounds of the sect until the matter was finished. She wasn''t stupid, she knew that her parents would exterminate Duke Qoe and any of his accomplices. She suddenly felt very sleepy as she dozed off while she was embracing Caz. The latter was quick in his movements as he gently picked Amelia up and slowly walked towards his room. After a few minutes of walking down the old dirt road did Caz finally see the residence. Quickly walking inside and ignoring the curious gaze of the manager, he opened his door and walked towards his bed. Caz slowly sat Amelia onto the bed and wrapped her within a blanket. He was about to go sit on the couch to relax when an arm suddenly grabbed his sleeve. He turned and looked at the sleep-deprived Amelia who had a frantic expression. "Don''t leave me...please." Caz gently sighed as he sat on the bed while Amelia started to tightly hold his sleeve as she closed her eyes once more. A little smile slowly found it''s way onto her lips as she quickly found herself back in the dream world. The young man slowly started to find a comfortable position for himself before looking at the sky through the window in his room. He just quietly watched the clouds flow by as the little princess beside him peacefully slept. Chapter 10.5: Love The hours passed as Amelia peacefully slept beside Caz. It was about 6 AM when Caz and Amelia caught the assassin and brought him over to Elder Diaz and it only took about an hour or so to get the situation ''handled''. It was still very early now as it was only 9 AM. Caz had decided to let Amelia sleep for a few more hours as she must have had a lot of mental stress from the events that happened earlier. The main reason as to why he let her sleep was because Caz was too lazy to get out of bed. Sleeping in late was considered a relatively big taboo in the cultivation world, as you went higher up in cultivation, sleep wasn''t a necessity. Caz never cared for this as he always went to sleep early and woke up late. Caz closed his eyes a few minutes after Amelia fell asleep, and unsurprisingly, Amelia woke up first. Amelia saw that Caz was loudly snoring again and rolled her eyes. She was still holding onto his sleeve when she woke up, for some reason, it felt like as long as she held onto his sleeve, no harm would ever befall onto her. She was curious as to why this happened at first but eventually threw the thought to the back of her mind. She gently pulled the blanket off and walked towards the kitchen and quietly made a pot of tea, as it was still early and no new disciples had anything to do for the first week or so, even core disciples, she just decided to laze around until her ''lockdown'' was over. It seemed that Caz had an influence over her as she never liked being lazy until now. Pouring the tea into a small cup, she walked back over to the bed and sat down and pulled the blanket over her legs as she sat up straight. She slowly sipped on her tea as she just looked at the childish sleeping face of Caz. It gave her a sense of comfort and security when she was around this seemingly unreliable boy. The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings. Still loudly snoring, Caz had no idea that someone was staring at him. He was in his own little world as he tossed and turned in his sleep. Amelia restrained her laugh with her hand as she saw Caz wiggle in his sleep. As she laughed in her head, the gentle look in her eyes had increased. She never expected that in her time of need that her saviour would be this boy that was only about 3 years older than her. While looking at him, the unfamiliar feelings appeared in her heart once more. She had a vague feeling as to what these feelings were but was a bit too embarrassed to admit to them. Something about this boy had made her feel something she had never felt before, she wanted more of it. Putting her cup of tea on the table beside the bed, she slowly pulled the blanket over the rest of her body. Turning her body to face Caz, she slightly smiled as she pulled herself towards him and started clinging to his arm. Caz made no movements as even his snores didn''t stop. Amelia just gently smiled as she looked at him still snoring away. Amelia felt even more secure as she leaned her body against his. This man had made her awaken to something she hadn''t felt before, in just the short span of about 2 days. It was something that she had craved for years and years, ever since she was a child, ever since she could read, and ever since she could start cultivating. Love. Not familial love, but pure old-fashioned love. Now that she had this unexpected feeling, she was not going to let anything take it away from her. If someone or something wanted to take this feeling from her, they would have to take it from her cold, dead corpse. A wave of comfort and drowsiness suddenly hit her as she clung to his arm tightly. Slowly closing her eyes with a peaceful smile, she entered the dream world once more with Caz in her embrace.
