《The Atlas》 Prologue Legend has it there are numerous devices of strange and unimaginably potent power. These devices are thought to have been created by an ancient race of beings that can only be thought of as gods compared to us mere mortals. The differences between us are so astounding that we cannot even comprehend their shape, let alone what they are and what motivates them. That said, due to the oddly spherical motif many of their creations share, we can make an assumption that when perceived in three dimensions they were likely spherical themselves. But I digress. One such Device is simply known as the atlas, a device that gives power to the wielder while allowing travel through the multiverse. The nature of this power is unknown at best, and a complete mystery that seems to be able to circumvent the apparent laws of physics. Fortunately, how the device allows travel is reasonably simple to conceptualise, in that the device seems to act as an anchor for a pocket universe. How this works exactly is still unknown, but it is thought that the pocket universe is superimposed in the background of the universe where the anchor is located. This allows the wielder to essentially shift themselves between universes, and once inside the pocket universe it can be controlled to latch on to another universe. The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation. With an Archive Fragment, another of these Devices, I will follow the journey of the Atlas as it finds itself in the possession of a relatively young man. This is done in the hopes of learning more about the multiverse and documenting how the atlas seems to work such that a simplified version may be produced allowing travel between universes. That¡¯s the hope anyway. Intro 1-1 ¡°So, you want to hear my story? Well it started with a good old stabbing. The previous wielder was minding his own business, looking pretty wealthy in a poor neighbourhood, when two men tried mugging this man. In hindsight I¡¯m not sure what happened, how he didn¡¯t use the power of the Atlas to put an end to the mugging before it even started. Anyway, upon being stabbed in what I believe was the stomach, our surroundings seemed to almost fade away while a large room seemed to fade in. I now know this to be part of the Atlas¡¯s ability to shift the wielder between their current universe and the Atlas pocket universe. All four of us were transported. I think it was due to him losing control that he also took me, I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I think he also shunted the two wannabe muggers out of the pocket universe, as shortly after arriving they disappeared. This left the man and I alone inside the pocket universe, with him seemingly bleeding out. I was petrified, and there was nothing I could do to help him.Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. Eventually he bled out, and in doing so his body seemed to break into tiny, barely visible, specs of matter that all floated towards the centre of the room. You¡¯re probably wondering what this room looks like, now that I think about it. Well it was spherical but with the floor at what was approximately a third of the height of the sphere. The walls were bare and devoid of anything to differentiate one spot from another, lacking even the slightest variation. The dull blue/grey colour added to the insignificant feeling the walls were giving off. The floor itself was a dull silver grating, with indentations in a clockwise spiral with eight lines spaced evenly. Once my attention was attracted towards the centre though, is where the truly amazing phenomena begin. Above a circular slab of what appears to be quartz that¡¯s about a meter high is what looks like a hologram of the universe. Now that I know what it is, I can say it was actually a simplified map of the local universes, which I still can¡¯t explain properly. Nevertheless, this 3D hologram-esque map contained almost countless small spheres of varying colours and sizes. And this, is the base form of The Atlas." Intro 1-2 Once the body of the strange man had disappeared completely, the only reasonable thing to do was touch the circular magical object that I can¡¯t fully comprehend. Upon doing so a small jolt ran through my body, and with it a screen manifested in front of my eyes.

As the final screen appeared then faded out, a strange energy suffused my body and I felt I knew the Atlas and how to shift between the anchored universe and the Atlas¡¯s pocket universe. After the shock of seeing a man stabbed and dissolving in front of my eyes, I felt that some homely comfort was exactly what I needed. Shifting over to where I was before everything went down, I find myself a few meters to the side, where the old owner of the Atlas was. Seeing as there¡¯s no-one around, I shrug mentally and continue through the alleyway on my way home. Nothing exciting happens as I walk the remaining few minutes. I reach my apartment building, climb to the third floor and enter my apartment. A pretty lacklustre place, sparsely furnished by ikea and cheap things I could pick up that gives my place a ¡®broke student¡¯ look. Mostly white or cream coloured matched with light woods, it¡¯s nothing special. I reach into the fridge and take out one of the few remaining colas, before jumping onto my bed and pulling out my phone. Wasting time scrolling through social media and watching random videos, I finish the cola and decide to just sleep for a bit. Intro 1-3 Morning came with no fanfare. I woke to a great hunger due to forgetting to eat last night, so I roll out of bed, still in yesterday¡¯s clothes, and look for something to eat. Finding nothing edible in the fridge, I move on to the pantry which is also empty except for two-minute noodles. Deciding this¡¯ll have to do, I prepare them and wait until they¡¯re ready to eat. Having my meal, and not particularly enjoying it, I sit down and bring up the news on my phone. My parents always told me it¡¯s good to know what¡¯s going on, but frankly nothing interests me nor does anything that¡¯s reported actually affect me. Unsurprisingly there¡¯s nothing about an attempted mugging or a disappearance of the man I saw, leading me to hope it was just a dream. Done with the news and my ¡®meal¡¯ I have a quick shower and get ready for uni.If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. Although only a short trip, I don¡¯t have the money to afford petrol let alone maintenance on a car, so I take the bus to the city. There¡¯s still time before my lecture, so I walk unhurriedly to the classroom. Arriving with time to spare, I make my way to my regular spot at the back and settle in with my notepad and stationary in front of me, just in case I decide to take notes for once. Eventually the lecture starts, with the lecture hall about half filled. The lecturer drones on about Kepler¡¯s laws of planetary motion and how minor variations due to external forces or nearby large masses will not have a major impact on the orbit due to the two major loci normally being defined well enough that only a slight variation to the orbit will occur. Soon the lecture ends and bored out of my mind I make the commute back home. The events of yesterday all but forgotten like most dreams. Nothing out of the ordinary happens. Upon arrival at my apartment, I throw my bag in the corner and flop onto my bed. Intro 1-4 Barely five minutes of relaxing had passed before a screen appeared, confirming that what I had experienced wasn¡¯t just a fever dream.
Mission Available:
Retrieve [Architects Core Fragment] from Planet [Gibrides] Realm [Abbamos]
When ready, return to Atlas
One thing you may have noticed is that it¡¯s never really the happy content people who go on dangerous adventures, unless there¡¯s something to do with the fate of the world resting in their hands. And I am no exception. While perhaps not the most adventurous of people, I am definitely within the group that would jump at the chance to escape my dreary existence. As such it should be no surprise my first thought wasn¡¯t ¡®what is going on¡¯ but rather ¡®great let me get a bag together.¡¯If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. And so, I did. I packed miscellaneous stuff I thought I might need, such as a swiss army knife, a regular knife, about five days worth of food, spare clothes. The essentials. All of it I place in a hiking bag I got for a birthday once. With very little tethering me to this world, I initiate the shift to the Atlas pocket universe. Upon arrival I notice a pulse coming from one of the holographic orbs above the central cylinder. I move closer, and as I do the word [Abbamos] appears above it. Below it is [Tier 1; Rank 6]. Before I could investigate further, another screen blocked my vision.
Initiate Mission?
Yes No
Although I don¡¯t understand how to interact with these screens other than ignoring them until they disappear, saying ¡°yes¡± out loud seems to get the point across, as next thing I know the hologram zooms in to the [Abbamos] orb, showing what looks like a two-armed galaxy. It doesn¡¯t stop there, and soon another orb comes into focus. Hovering above it is the word [Gibroides].
Exit when ready
