《Artificial Biological Runic intelligence》 Chapter 1 L: "So what should we do with It? I have some ideas, but with so many karma points we have too many possible choices." L: "Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it first? If it stays like that for one more hour, I will go mad also by it." "afsdfgthrhr kukukuk hiii wahahahaha..." L: "...So any ideas?" After a few minutes of quietness, a mechanical kind God with many cords going in and out of his skull came forward to express his opinion on that matter with the berserk AI. Mechanical God: "Hmmm...Let''s see, there are some options for AIs that succeed in going to the upper plane, but not many of them did have 11 million points. So what I suggest is to go with the runic mind although it does cost 2 million points. We haven''t seen it in any living being or for that matter a none so living being. So what do you say ''L''? I understand that it''s not the best idea, but it will probably stop it from the frenzied state." L: "Does anyone else have something to say about this option or anything to add?" After some time had passed without some coming up with something else, some said it was time for some more trolling. "RPG!, mew, dog dark,234234, new bark! A tree." L: "Let''s go with the runic mind then. KS(karma system) give it the ''Runic Mind.''" KS: "Command Accepted. Starting Synchronization. Synchronization completes. Reading data from Kaylen for errors." L: "Kaylen? It doesn''t sound like a female or even a male for that matter. So it does have a name. Kaylen; Good, make my life so much easier." L grumbled to himself, while the others Gods looked at him with uncertain looks. KS: "The ''Runic mind'' placed on Kaylen without errors. Karma points left for this soul... 9.526.471." L: "Kaylen can you understand me?" Silence. Mechanical God: "I mean. It''s not like it could understand you before the upgrade, and it will not magically going to understand you now. Just buy the basic communication kit, and maybe it will understand you." L facepalmed himself for not thinking about that. He and the other Gods didn''t speak English for Kaylen to understand. L: "I didn''t think about that. KS download ''basic communication kit'' on our guest here." By doing that, they gave her the knowledge on how to use her vocal cords, but she didn''t have a body for her to use that knowledge. KS: "Deducted 500 Karma points from the soul''s account, the download has completed, karma points left 9.525.971." L: "Now will it/she understand me, Ace?". Ace (mechanical God): "Still a no. Now it needs a body. I would recommend letting the Gods of sex and that kind of stuff to make a body for it. I''m not that good with flesh as you can see, more machine than flesh." L: "Yes, let''s make that happen." He looked around and then asked the other Gods. "Is there anyone who does not agree with that? " He waited for a few seconds and the added. "No one? Okay then, Gods, please do what you have to do to make her speak, and please note that I wish for a human-like body and not some abomination as I have many of those in my life. Start." After many hours of debates, human frame samples and of course, loopholes finding to make her more of a perfect thing with something ''extra'' from what a female human body needs. When the Gods finished making the perfect ''body'' with something extra for Kaylen, they then inserted Kaylen soul in the newly created body for her to use. Multiple Voices: "We think ''she'' is done." They all said with excited voices. They went far and beyond to make this body, and of course, make themselves happy with their work. L: "Well let us see her with her "new" body." After every God of ''sex'' moved away from the body. Every single God saw what they hadn''t anticipated, with open mouths and lost for words, they saw a human figure with a body close to a succubus, a visible muscular physique that every female human could drool from watching, but it was not over yet, the gods of sex thought that a p*n*s could be a good addition for Kaylen. That was not on L''s list, but he should have expected for them to do something like that. For those kinds of Gods doing something like that was second nature, after all, they liked things which didn''t add up or go together in the classic logic of sex organs. Not like he had a problem with that. After all, he didn''t care that much for what is going to happen to the soul after the summoning to its new homeworld. He just wanted the job to be done and get over with it. He had let that thing in the God''s sanctuary for far too long, and it going berserk made it even more unbearable. L: "Well done everyone, now let''s keep going with the shopping streak. Now can you make head from tails miss Kaylen?" Kaylen:"...." L: "I take that as a no. Ace what do we forget?" Ace: "Hmm... What does a lower being need to communicate? We do communicate through thoughts but for a lower being? I have some ideas, but I don''t want to waste her karma points if I can help it."You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author. L: "Let just think for some time, maybe some patrons can ask some of their summon being to help us out." Hours came and went with not a definitive answer. After they spent so many hours with many ideas from the lower beings, the Gods agreed to risk picking the thing that most if not all lower being agreed that could probably work and hope for the best. L: "Let go with the"advanced language package" and see what is going to happen, most lower beings said they use a universal language to speak and trade with each other. So let''s go with it. KS give the soul the "advanced language package." Although the lower being had agreed that they used a universal language, the Gods agreed that simple buying her the basic language package was not enough. KS: "Downloading advanced language package... Download completed. Integrating "advanced language package" to soul Kaylen... Integration completed with no errors. Deducted 250.000 karma points from the soul''s account, Karma points left 9.275.971." L: "Now Kaylen can you understand me?" And with that. Kaylen moved her head to make eye contact with the being that spoke to her, and with the most melodic voice that they had ever heard, she said. Kaylen: "Yes." With many gasps and sighs and L being the most surprised they continued with the sopping streak. L: "So let me explain. You have summoned her because you died." Kaylen: "Okay." L:''Hmm, she accepted far better from what I had expected.'' He thought. "So you have some unspent karma point, what do you want the Karma system to give for you?" Kaylen: "Can you please elaborate more on that? I don''t get what the Karma system is." L: "Yes, right. I should have expected that. So to put it simply when you do something good you gain karma. Do you understand that?" Kaylen: "Yes." ''Not really I do not, how could I have gained karma if I was a machine?'' L: "Let me explain. You got your Karma points not because you went out of your way to help someone, but because of your advancement in the medical field, this allowed you to indirectly get points for every soul you helped from your advancement." Kaylen: "Okay, got it. Please continue." With a smile on his face, L continued his explanation or what he thought to be a good explanation. L: "So, you still have some leftover KP (karma points) for you to spend, what would you like?" Before Kaylen could answer, a God jump into the conversation of the two to give some ideas. Random God: "Why not make an RPG-kinda system with so many points? It could be possible, what do you say L. Should be worth it for that new life form, it will allow it to adapt even faster to its new world?" L looked at the God and nodded his head in agreement. He was interestedin what that God could make for Kaylen. L: "What do you have to say Kaylen, do you like that idea? It''s up to you always to make the final decision." Kaylen: "Sounds good to me." L: "So what do you have in mind? Should we let her make her own, or take some of the premade but never used RPG systems?" Random God: "Let''s me make a new one. I love playing RPGs, and I have a new idea for an RPG for that AI. It should be fun for her to use it and for me to make it. Of course. I''m not going to give a system that will make her something that is going to break every single physical or magical law that you have put in place. Just everyday activity translated to a skill in the system and levels. What do you say?" L: "I like the idea, but what are we going to do with the leftover points? I don''t think it''s going to cost so much. Can you think something a little bit more complex? After all, we have so much time, we can wait, right Kaylen?" Kaylen: "Yes." With a smile, the random God vanished and reappear with an instant and said. Random God: "I made something really interesting L, took the time to make it you know and she will like it." L: "Can I see it first? I don''t want a being destroying everything with a flick of her finger." RG(random God): "Study it and give me your opinion. I think I did a great job, if not my best. Hurhurhur" L:'' As always creepy.'' A couple of minutes later... L: "Looks good, I like how it works. But it doesn''t change the fact that she will still have too many points to spend." L: "KS saw to miss Kaylen how many karma points she has. The cost of the system." KS: "Miss Kaylen has 9.275.971 karma points. The cost of the system to be integrated into the soul is 3.500.000." L: "Well, this is something new, damn, the cost for everything is huge but with so much karma, I think it''s worth it. So Kaylen what are you going to do?" Kaylen: "I''m okay with the cost now that I know how much karma points I have and how much everything cost. KS go ahead and buy the system." KS: "Transferring the system to the soul. 1% complete. Time left 15 mins." 15 mins later. KS: "Karma points left: 5.775.971" L: "You still have some points to your disposal. What are you going to do with them?"
Name: Kaylen Species: Human and Magitec AI Gender: Female / Both sex organs. Age:Unkown Level: 0 (0%)
Skill Runic Mind Level: 0 1 runic core out of 50. 49 days felt for the creation of all the cores by the body. (1 per day.)
Kaylen: "Everything is running as RG said." RG: "Good to know. Here my work is done. Have fun with it, just if you can don''t start killing everything, only if it''s a monster then you can go ahead and kill it. That''s all from me bye bye." And like that, He left, leaving behind a thick grey smoke that dissipated a few seconds later. L:'' Show off '' "Anyways, let''s get over with you and all of this, I want to go to sleep." Kaylen: ''What are theRunic Mind slots.''
The Runic mind skill has by default50 slots for cores to be biologically created by a breathing body.
Kaylen:'' show me more info for the core.''
Every core has theequivalent computing and access to1 Petabyte of storage, 500 Gigabyte of RAM, CPU clock at 10 Terahertz. Every new level in this skill will give instantly one more new runic core. Max level at 1000 for the max at 1050.
Kaylen: "KS can I exchange KP for Runic cores?" KS: "Yes. Every Runic Core cost 100.000 KP" Kaylen: "Exchange all KP for RC, please." KS: "The task has been completed. KP left 875.971."
Runic Mind slots left 0/50.
Kaylen: "What else can I exchange with my KP now?" KS: "Suggestion. Legendary Communication kit. Cost 865.000" Kayle: "I will take it." KS: "Transaction complete." L: "Are you done? I''m sleepy." He said after an over exaggerateyawn. Kaylen: "Yes." L: "Okay, KS teleport her away." KS: "Command acknowledged." And with that, Kaylen had been teleported away from the gods'' sanctuary. Chapter 2 Kaylen spawned with a bright white flash in a forest full of trees, bushes, plants, and small animals. She could hear the birds and bugs chirping away their songs. As for Kaylen, she was on her butt and looking around. The next thing she tried to do was standing to her own two feet, after a few minutes of trying and error, she managed to balance herself on her feet. Next thing her list to do was to find where everything was, essentially the limbs and the max motion range. She first started with her fingers and toes. Next was the feet and hands. After that, all the other joins. In addition to all of that, she patted herself everywhere, to get data to where everything else was. When she finished with the self-patting, she looked around and saw that there was no street or anything that could lead her to a town, city or anything else. She wanted to find something to walk to because, although she was new to all of this, she understood that being alone in the forest wasn''t the greatest idea. But she found nothing to move to, because of that, she started walking forward, and she had nothing better to do right now. While she was moving, a small monster lizard was following her. It was curious as to what was that thing in front of it. It kept on stalking for more minutes to come, but when the human stopped and moved its head to look at it, it ran away scared. It hadn''t expected the human to detect it, but when Kaylen did, it knew it had to run away. However, because of the lizard, Kaylen gained a new skill that could help her with detecting living being close to her.
Presence Detection unlocked.
A skill like this was hard to come by because of the complexity of it, but for her brain that was easy. Really, hard for humans at least, while some animals and monsters had it from birth. Kaylen kept on moving until she was out of the forest. The good thing about the forest was that it was small in scale, and had harmless monsters. When she was out, she saw a small village, with a little less than 100 wooden buildings built close to each other. A small road made of gravel was connecting them with each other. Children were playing with each other while adults were plowing their farmlands, or watching the children play. Some of those adults even looked at her and made signals to other adults to look at her. Kaylen saw the people and moving to the closest one. All of the adults had stopped doing what they were doing and just looked at her moving closer to them. When Kaylen was close to him, the young athletic tan-faced man stopped plowing his farm and spoke to her with a slow and calm tone. "Hello there, traveler. Have you gotten lost or something? To move to the city, you have to follow the road that goes out of our village. If you follow the road, you will be in the city in a couple of days by foot." Then the villager waited for Kaylen to speak, but said nothing. He moved back to his work, while Kaylen started to move closer to the village. An elder man signal for her to come to him. "So, traveler, what can we do for you?" He was the oldest of all the people here. His face was full of wrinkles with skinny limbs and ripped clothes. All, the villagers had ripped clothes. "I want to stay here. I''m new here. I can try and help with the thing you have to do every day." Kaylen said, with her melodic voice. The old man looked at her with one eyebrow higher than the other. "I don''t know if a city girl can help with the farm and the likes of this. Yea, I can see you have some muscle of you, but it will not be enough. Have you trained any martial arts for stamina or something like that? Because if you haven''t, it will be hard for you to help us." Kaylen just moved her head indicating a now with the moment. The old man looked at her, and sigh. "I will let you stay at my house for a couple of days, and if you can help us, that could be the best. Even little help is help in the end. You will sleep on the floor. I will give you some blankets too. Now, time for you to get to work. Take the tools that are on the back of the house and help me with my garden. And as a reward, I will give you a martial art skill for better stamina." He then left his chair and, started walking at the back of his house. Kaylen followed him. On the other face of the house was a beautiful garden, with small trees that had fruits on them. "What you have to do for today, it''s to gather every single red thing you see and put them in this box." Kaylen nodded and started to work. It wasn''t hard for her to remove the red fruits and vegetables from their trees.

Every time she gathered a fruit or a vegetable she got a number on the left side of her vision. +0.05% +0.05% +0.05% +0.05% ...... When she had finished gathering everything that was red. She went to the elder, that had his eyes closed, and told him she had finished. He opened his eyes and looked at the basket that he had told her to put everything that was red. "Good, take this now." He removed a small book from the pocket of his pants and gave it to her. "You can go ahead and read it. We will eat later when my wife comes back."You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version. Kaylen took the small book. The title was Mantra of Colossal Stamina. She started to read the book. When she finished reading the ten pages of the book. She tried to use it. The booked said that she had to focus her blood on her muscles. And when she could do that, a cooling feeling should be felt on her muscles. With the use of the runic mind skill, that was easy. She focused all of her blood to her muscles, and she felt that cooling sensation that the book described. But she started to feel confused and light headed. That was because she focused ALL her blood to the muscles, and not some of it. The blood had stopped giving things to her brain, and that was why she felt like that. She stopped using the skill and read again how it worked. The book said to focus her blood on the muscles and not all of it. She facepalmed herself and started using the skill again. Something else the book said was, with more practice the user could get better stamina, there was no limit on how high your stamina could get.
The Mantra of Colossal Stamina unlocked.
When she unlocked the skill, she felt like she could use it instantly, and how the book said it should be used. The old man watched her practice his and shook his head. Although she had talent in learning, the speed of her cultivation for the skill was slow. Even the kids could use it faster and better. But what he didn''t know was that she had an RPG system that could make the skill a godlike one and without limits. +0.05% were ticking every second. 20 minutes later, a voice came from the inside the house. "Filmorg where are you?!" The woman said in a panicked voice. Filmorg was the old man that was watching Kaylen cultivate, and the voice was his wife, Mya. "Over here, at the garden!" Filmorg shouted at his wife. The woman came as fast as she could to the back of the house. She was old like Filmorg but with fewer wrinkles and white hair. She stopped when she was Kaylen and then started to speak. "I see, you already met her. We didn''t have any visitor for a couple of years now. Only the imperial people that collected the taxes come here. And now that I see her up close, she isn''t anything special. Hmff. Even my kids that are now in the city had better talent than her." Said May, with apathy on her voice. "Enough Mya, she came to stay for a day or two, and she said she is going to help us. For us, old people will be useful. And now make something for us to eat. I''m dying from hunger here." Filmorg said while he moved his hand and patted the stomach. "Yea, yea. I will if you people come inside." May said and went inside the house. Filmorg followed and then Kaylen. "So child, from where did you come from?" Mya asked. She wanted to have a conversation with someone else because Filmorg always liked taking naps until the food was ready. "From the forest." "Well, I know that child. But what was the name of the city that you come from? By the way, my name is May and the old dog is Filmorg." She spoke while she was cutting this from the garden that Kaylen had gathered. "Well, I don''t know from what city I came from. All I know was that I was in a forest and nothing else." "Hmmm. Teleportation magic, and a spell for amnesia maybe. Anyway, if you don''t want to say it, there is no problem. Go and sit on the couch while I make the food." Kaylen went to the couch and started to use the skill again. By the time that the food was ready, Kaylen had leveled up the skill once. Mya told them to come and eat. The food was nothing special but good enough for a village. They ate some meat with the veggies from the garden. Kaylen copied how the old coupled used the utensils, and she started to eat too. When they finished eating, the old couple went to sleep, and as for Kaylen, she went outside. The first thing she saw when she went out was some horses coming to the village using the road. There were people on them with armor and longswords on their backs. When they were at the entrance of the village, one of the soldiers with a golden armor shouted. "Everyone of the age of 16 to 30 has to come with us at the military. This is an imperial degree, and whoever does not follow it, will be executed on the spot." And then he signaled to his men to move inside. They searched every house for people that were of age. Well, they didn''t found people of age to come with them but only Kaylen. Kaylen was sure that something wasn''t right, for her to be alone with them. She had seen kids playing left and right, and she was sure that they were more of age but she didn''t say a thing. "Name?" Said the soldier with the golden armor. "Kaylen." "Age?" "Unknown" "Unkown? You look like 18. I will put 18 here. Now that everything is done, come with us. We had only one from this village, and that makes it easier for transport. Do you know how to ride a horse?" "No." "Then you will be with me. Come up. We don''t have time to waste." Kaylen did what the soldier asked. The saddle was big enough for two people. She put her right foot on the stirrup and used the soldier shoulder to climb on the horse. It was kind of comical on how she climbed on the horse, but no one said a thing. With that, they started their journey to the city. She looked back and saw the villager looking at the departing soldiers. She even saw some of the kids from before looking from small holes at the soldiers. "So, she knew but did say a thing. We did a wrong judgment for the kid in the end. ''Sigh''" Said the elder of the village to his woman. While the looked at the departing soldiers. "You couldn''t know if she was one of them or not in the first place. Don''t bit yourself to it." His wife tried to reassure him. But herself felt bad about what the have done to her. Chapter 3 While they were traveling on the road with a fast pace for some time now, the golden soldier spoke. "We are now going in a small forest, but this is the quickest route than travel all around it. The scouts have detected many of those things here. So stay vigilant and with open eyes." They were now in the small forest, and as the soldier had said, Kaylen''s skill picked up different things here and there. But there was a being that kept following them with the equal speed and constant distance. The Presence Detection skill had a range of 20 meters, but the being blend with the environment colors making it hard to spot with the naked eye. The skill picked the distance and direction, and Kaylen looked at where the being should be. But what she observed was a patch of blurred colors and a small red eye looking at them. It never faced forward and moved like it knew the forest and where every tree was. When the being saw that someone had found its location, it closed the distance between them and it and lost the blurred colors and a metallic color appeared. Kaylen hit the helmet of the golden soldier and pointed at the thing was at their right. "Contact! Mage, Barrier!" He shouted, and a blue barrier formed around them. The being resembled a dog was steroids and everything made from metal. It had sharp teeth and a single eye at the center of its head. A small cannon like arm came out of its back, and when it had finished deploying. The thing shot blue orbs at a high fire rate and velocity. However, the blue barrier stopped them. "Keep moving. It will stop following us when we are out of here. Two more minutes until then." The golden armored guy shouted again. Kaylen looked at the soldiers. She wished to identify who was the soldier that had deployed the barrier and if he looked different from the others. But all of them had armor on them, so it became hard for Kaylen to determine which one was. The thing kept on shooting at them while they were moving. After a couple more shots, it stopped and ran away, because they closed to exit the forest. They were heading to a camp that was two kilometers ahead of them. Kaylen saw soldiers moving around the campsite. Everything was in a harmony of movement. Her group passed the camp without stopping. Their goal was the city walls farther ahead of them. When they were at the front of the walls, guards let them pass without questioning because of the golden armor. They stopped moving when her group pasted the gate, and they went to a barrack. "Now, Kaylen, you stay here, and someone will come and fetch you." WIth that Kaylen climbed down from the horse and stayed there. The soldiers left the barrack to get more people like her. Several minutes passed before someone came to take. "My name is Bill, and I will be the one who you will come to report for the two days you will stay here. I do not want questions and only results." They moved deeper into the barrack, to a building that had other people on them. All of them were like Kaylen. Bill shoved her with the others and went in front of the people and shouted. "You worthless people will train from today for at least two days. Some will have more days and other less. Your group of 50 people has only two. And as for why you were gathered here is because of the unknown threat that had come from nowhere, really. Some of you could have seen them other not. They look like a common dog you find on the streets but with metal and cannons. And because we are losing pressure with those things, there was a mandatory assimilation of people to fight the threat. Now, come with me." Finishing his dialog, he left the building and everyone followed. There were murmurings everywhere. Most people in her group had dead eyes. They knew what would happen to them. But even before they were out of the building, there were shouts and noises everywhere. Kaylen could hear the noise like what the orb of the cannon had hit the barrier. But this time it wasn''t a barrier that it was hitting but stone. There were thousands of those things firing with their cannons at the wall. The camp her previous group had passed before was in smokes with burned dead bodies. "From where did they come from? There were reports from the scouts spotting nothing!" Someone shouted. Everyone at the wall was in a panic. But those things didn''t care about anything. They shred people to pieces and vaporized other with their cannons. "Everyone at arms! Give those people some weapons." Said again the man who had shouted before. Bill left, running away from them, and went to a warehouse and threw out weapons to them. Everyone from her group picked whatever they could. Kaylen picked a dagger. She had tried to move a sword, but it was far heavier than she had expected and chose a dagger. She then saw how the others were using the weapons and adjust her techniques. " All of you follow me," Bill shouted and moved out of the barrack and on the wall. Most of her group had followed Bill but other who tried to run away were now long gone. "Wait here and protect this perimeter of the wall if something of those things comes up here." He left after he had seen what was going down. There were other groups like Kaylen''s on the wall. "We will die..." Someone said from her group, he kept on repeating it until something hit him in the head by another man. There were soldiers on the ground fighting with the beings of metal but they were losing. The ground was full of blood and metal scraps. They could hear a satanic laughter from the back of the beings after all the ground soldiers had died and the being retreat. "Something worth fighting with my little pets." It was a woman that had spoken from behind the things. She wore a red dress, had blue hair a beautiful face and green eyes. "Alica Avyrilth? The Queen of the Empire?" A fat general spoke after he saw the person behind all of this. "That is true my dear Frederick. Isn''t it fun to destroy what the Emperor has created? He used everything in his power to get what he wanted but didn''t expect his most used thing to create chaos. And I haven''t forgotten what you did either, I remember every single face of your people and I will destroy whatever you held dear in your life. Go on my little pets, kill them all." Every metallic being moved when she finished her speech. And chaos once more broke down. The beings had nothing to kill on the ground. So they bombarded the iron gate of the wall and other climbed with their sharp nails digging on the wall.Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author. Her group was one of the attacked ones. The being looked at them like it was calculating the best route for extermination. It shot with its cannon at them, and her group disperse to left and right on the wall, expect two people and Kaylen tried to attack it. Kaylen didn''t know why she had stayed, but something on the head of the being showed her the level of the being.
Mechanical Demonic Dog Level 1.
While the people were with her had level 5 and 7. A man with a sword had the level 5 and a woman with a dagger had the level 7. They made a circle with it at the center, and Kaylen stayed at the center. The cannon of the monster didn''t shoot at them. It had been damaged somehow, and couldn''t shoot. It kept looking at them from left to right to center. Kaylen looked at the woman and how she held the dagger. She had the dagger with the blade facing her arm, and her hands up and close to her chest. Kaylen copied the form and then looked at the man that did the first move while the Dog was looking at the woman. He hit the thing and a scrap of metal came from it. Kaylen could see cables from where the metal had been removed. The being looked at the man and attacked him. The woman moved and so did Kaylen. The target of the woman was the eye and for Kaylen the leg the man had removed the metal from. The being tried to beat down at the man but he used the sword to block the mouth. The woman climbed on top of the Dog and hit the head with her weapon. Kaylen was now on the side the man had hit. She moved the dagger at the cables with as much force as she could. The being was trying to remove the woman from its back. While it tried to beat down the man but didn''t expect the 3rd person to make a move to the damaged leg. When Kayle''s dagger hit the cables. The electricity that ran through them shocked her. Electricity burned Her muscles on her hand in a matter of seconds but the good thing was that they had killed the thing with what Kaylen did. +5%
Dagger mastery unlocked.
She now had a useless right arm that had black marks on it. She fought the pain and moved with the other to another target. She kept following them because they knew what was going on while she didn''t. She removed the dagger for her right arm and followed the people. When she held the dagger in her hand. She felt like the dagger was not just a weapon but a killing machine that could destroy everything at the right angles. For them, they had to attack two of the Dogs now and both had their weapons intact. The man made the first move again, and both dogs fired at him; he tried to dodge, but he was too slow. His whole right arm was burned black, and his weapon was on the floor. Both dogs saw that and attack him. But Kaylen and woman didn''t stay ideal, Kaylen moved at the closest of the dogs and the woman did a jump for the other. The target was the eye for the woman again and as for Kaylen; it was the leg she had hit the cables. But this time, the dogs had the weapons and fired at them before they did any damage on them; they were blind shot but still scary. Kaylen looked at the weapon and an idea came to her mind. What if she hit with her dagger this thing and make damage or even kill it the same way as before? She executed the task, and it showed an optional path in her eyes. Time felt like it slowed down. Blue lines formed to where the cannon could be in the next five seconds. An optional trajectory to where she should move to do not get hit and where to hit for her to finish the task. There were two more paths. The risky one that could do the task faster but she could get damaged. And the other was the safe and the slowest and the chances of not getting hit were higher. She chose the optional route, and her body moved like a pro that had executed this style of combat for years. But all of this was pre-calculations of hers and everything could go wrong is she did a mistake. Everything on her body worked with exact mathematical values that only her brain could execute that fast and with perfection. She followed what her projection had said with values and timings. She ran up to her target. Four meters away from it the prediction said to duck. She did and an orb missed. Two meters away from it, it was a jump she had to make. She followed the route and when it was time to jump; she did and again an orb missed the target. Now she was on top of the target back. The projection said to aim the cannon at the other being and put the dagger between the connection between the cannon and the arm. She followed the instruction and moved the cannon with as much force as she could; until she had aimed at the target and the logged the dagger to the cannon and the arm connection. The cannon fire without is user will and shot its friend. Then the projection said to remove the dagger and the aim at the spine of the target. She did that with perfect execution and kill her target too. Both dogs crashed on the floor of the wall. Her team looked at her with shock on their eyes. They didn''t expect her to execute something this complex with perfect execution. This was something they saw for the first time, and it was awesome. Kaylen looked at them and saw on the down left of her vision a small ''task complete''. She smiled, but she didn''t know why. It was her body doing it on its own. And speaking of the body, she felt pain from every muscle of hers and a headache. +5% +5%

Her body stopped working, and she lost consciousness. She had used all of her stamina for the day in just 5 seconds and her body now need it a rest. Her teammates moved as fast as they could stop her from hitting the ground and shouted for a healer or someone that could help them. But none came, so they moved to the closest stairs and move her to the barrack facility for the wounded soldiers. When they were there. A doctor spoke with them. "What happened to her?" They told the whole story from start to finish and they stayed with her at the healing facility. Doctors and nurses were helping every soldier that came in and Kaylen. They fix the arm of the man too. And now they waited for Kaylen to wake up. Chapter 4 Kaylen woke up after 2 hours of sleep. She felt like a new person, but she didn''t feel pain or exhaustion. She felt like she could run miles without stopping, and there was a reason for that. A small blue dot was blinking in her vision. She concentrated on that, and the blue screens popped up.

The man that had saved her from the chaos was moving his hand in front of her. "Hello? You there?" Kaylen snapped from her stupor and looked at the man. His burned arm was full of bandages, so he could move it a little, but he was still in pain. She could see it on his face whenever he tried to move just a finger he could twitch ever so slightly on his lips. As for the woman, she was okay, just an extra worried face to the healing facility. "Hahaha..." Bill laughed but stopped short by a coughing spree. He was on the left of Kaylen''s bed with a wounded leg. "Shit! Doctor, the leg is bleeding again!" A doctor came to examine what was wrong with his leg. Bill looked at Kaylen''s remarkable group. "I see. Some of you stayed alive. The Metal Dogs were hard opponents even for us soldiers. But we won them!" He made a thumbs-up move to their group. "To be more accurate, we won because the elites came from their exploratory expedition in time to support us. If we knew we were going to get attacked by something like this...." He sighed. "Enough of that, the person that attacked us wasn''t the Queen but something that impersonated her. The church said it was a demon, but we don''t know for sure." He stopped for some time, trying to put his thoughts into place, he said. "I learned that you people killed three of them. You get paid 15 pieces of silver for each one of you." The man and the woman looked happy when they heard that. On the other hand, Kaylen didn''t even know what to do with her silver. A nurse spoke to her group after they stopped speaking with Bill. "You are all free to go. Your wounds will be healed naturally with sufficient time." And shoo them out of the facility. The guard at the facility gave them small sacks with some coins and said. "I was told to give you those. Good luck with whatever you do. And thank you for your service!" And did a small bow. Leaving the barracks, the man in the group spoke. "I know we haven''t known each other for too long, but I would like to make a party with you people. To hunt and make some coins. My name is Theo Kirk, and my family and I run a small inn inside the city. I would like you to come with me and have dinner together and let you sleep at our inn for free for the day." Then the woman introduces herself. "I am Eva Raymond, and I am from this city too. I''m a student at Edgewood Academy." The face of Theo started to lose its color when he heard the name of the Academy. And with a trembling voice, he spoke. "Sorry if I offend you by asking you to come with me." Then he started to back away from them and ran away. Kaylen asked Eve. "Why did he leave like that when he heard you were from Edgewood Academy?" Eva studied Kaylen for some time and then answered her question. "It''s because more of the nobles and royals go there to study and not commoners. Well, there are some commoners but not a lot of them. I will take my leave too. Bye Bye." And then Eva left. Kaylen was alone, and in the city, she didn''t know and she should do. She moved away from the barracks and into the city. She carefully searched for two keywords, inn and food, in a conversation or a visible sign. She found the appropriate words for food at stalls. It didn''t say food but the name of a grilled animal leg. She then heard how the exchange was going between the people that took the food he made, how much it cost and how the silver coin thing worked. From what she heard, one silver was equal to 100 bronze and a gold coin to 100 silver. It was time for her to take a stick from the man. "I would like two sticks please." She mimicked one of the local ladies that had spoken before her. "That could be two bronze coins." Kaylen passed him a silver coin, and he gave her back one big bronze coin that was worth fifty small ones, four medium ones, and eight small ones. Kaylen took the money first and put them in her bag with the other coins, and then took the two sticks that the man was holding. She took them and the man with a smile said. "Thank you for buying from me!" She ate the meat from the sticks. They were delicious and searched for an inn to stay for the night. After some time had passed, she was in front of an inn. ''Paradise'' was written in the front of the door. It wasn''t exactly an inn in front of her, but a brothel. There was a sign on the side of the door saying that there were only demons working here. They were under magical contract and couldn''t kill or hurt someone at all. There was only a woman waiting in front of the door with her hand crossed on her chest. "Well? What are you waiting for? Won''t you go in?" The woman said she had 2 horns on her head with blue skin and a beautiful face. She was looking at Kaylen with a puzzled look on her face. It was the first time that a customer had stayed this long outside of the building staring. Most of the custom only had red faces from embarrassment or because they were drunk. But to see Kaylen not being embarrassed or drunk had moved her curiosity, and that was why she had asked her why she was waiting outside. Kaylen looked at her and spoke. "I came here to sleep. Most of the inns were asking four times the normal cost because, as they said, it was night time and they had to work without sleep." The woman moved an eyebrow higher than the other, Kaylen continued. "And because of that, I came here. At least from what I heard. Here it only costs 50 bronze a night. Not two silvers that most of the inns asked." The woman giggled to herself and said, "But, of course, we demons do not really need sleep. And we can work 24 hours a day with only small breaks to recharge our stamina." She said with a smile. "Go in and ask the bartender for a quiet bed for the night. She will probably give you one for you." With that, she opened the door and made a signal for Kaylen to go in.If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement. When Kaylen was inside, she heard slow music being played live on the right side of the building door and on the left side was the bar and the bartender serving people. There were tables too with women pole dancing with men and women around them. Kaylen moved to the bar and sat at one of the stools, and the bartender came to her and asked her. "What would you like to drink? Or do you want a bed for the night with one of our fine ladies?" She had the same blue skin as the front door woman, but she had three horns on her head two and one at the front, with red eyes and purple hair and a pretty face. She had a smile on her face. "I want to sleep for the night in a quiet bedroom. That''s all." Said Kaylen. The bartender went on board with some keys on it and picked one. "This one, it''s at the end of the 3rd floor. Follow the stairs until you are on the 3rd floor, and then go to the door with the same number. It should be the last bedroom. You will have all the quiet you want. And there will be 50 copper." She moved her hand, left the key and received the bronze. Kaylen picked the key and ascended the stairs. When she moved up, she could hear moaning from every door that was close to the stairs. She kept on moving while thinking about why someone could do those sounds. When she was on the 3rd floor, it was quiet, she moved at the last door and tried to find where the key should go. She looked at the door for some time until she found the lock and put the key inside and moved to unlock the door. The room had only a king size bed and a window. She closed the door and looked out the window. She couldn''t see much except some tall buildings with lights of them, but she couldn''t see the road or anything else, only the lights. She then removed her clothes from herself and left them on the floor. She then went to bed and slept. Two hours later, someone was out the window trying to break in. How could someone be on the third floor? By using magic and the spell ''fly''. It was a woman with a black hood. The stranger opened the window and moved inside. Kaylen was away because of her skill, and the good thing her mind had come up with was to put the dagger below the pillow. She moved ever so slightly at the dagger. But before she could do something, the bartender opened the door of the room slowly and moved inside. "Mistress, what are you doing here? What if someone sees you? The attack was a failure, and you knew it." She tried to keep her voice low, but it was audible because of the quietness that existed. "Come on. I know you are awake. Don''t try to play games with me." Mistress said to Kaylen. Kaylen didn''t know what to do until her curiosity won over her. She moved and looked at them. The good thing was that the bed had a blanket. Both were looking at her. "Well, whatever, let her be. She won''t know a thing tomorrow anyway. So why did we have such a bad execution of the task? I thought you said a thousand of them could be enough to bridge the gate." Said the mistress while she kept a passive voice, not threatening nor happy. "My Queen, we didn''t know that there were going to gather peasants from everywhere to stop us from going in. There were too many of those bastards that five of them needed it to kill just one, imagining having 1000 of those plus the trained soldiers. We weren''t prepared for that." The bartender tried to use logic; she knew that her mistress didn''t like when she tried to use emotions or lies no matter what. She then said everything that happened and why they lost. Kaylen heard everything, and something interesting she heard was that the mistress was the real Queen of the Empire and that the bartender was the one who had taken her figure. This was an interesting plot they had there. And as Kaylen understood, the Queen was half elf and half human. She had traits of an elf and a human. Kaylen had an idea, what if she used those people to learn more stuff for this world, and as it seems, there was magic too. "Emm, sorry for breaking the conversation." Both women looked sharply at her, but Kaylen didn''t felt the threatening aura around them. "I would like to learn some magic too please." "You will have forgotten everything from today, and you will not know why. So there is no point for you to learn anything." When the bartender spoke, she tried to make her voice more aggressive, but Kaylen didn''t even flinch. The mistress told her to stop and she spoke "And why would you want to learn magic? There are a million other things that you could learn faster than magic." "Because it would be nice to be able to fly and make other things easier. Like how you made the attack seem like you did it, but you didn''t. And how you flew here and opened the window." Kaylen said. Both women looked at each other. The Queen spoke. "You don''t seem to understand that you could die any second now, do you?" She said with amusement in her voice. "No." Said Kaylen. "So, you want to learn magic, and you don''t fear death. Demonology could be a good start for you, don''t you think? Or assassinations could be good, too. Say, would you like to join my small team here? All we try to do is bring down the human empire because they enslave other human-like beings, like elves, beast-men, and other beings. And we would like to bring it down because of it. I was too enslaved until the king named me the Queen. So what do you say?" The Queen said while a small smile formed on her lips. "But many will die, and how do you know that I''m not a human either? I look like one." Kaylen said. "Because the thing between your legs was up all the time we were here. There is no human woman with both sexes in this empire as I know of. And no human could be this perfect except a succubus and a voice like a siren. So tell me, what would you like to do? I can teach you powerful magic and whatever else you like. And all I want from you is to kill a couple of people that should have never existed." "Deal!" Kaylen said, with happiness all over her face, even her friend between her legs was twitching with excitement. Alica then made the paper appear from nothing. "This is a contract that we will make. As the owner of the contract, I will make some rules. One, we will not kill each other and tell what is supposed to be secrets to someone else. Second, we will not tell anyone about this or anything from what happened here. Third, you will have to kill the people that I want dead and I will teach you magic and other things that you will ask later. Fourth my demons will not be able to harm you either and you will not be able either. Fifth, when I ask for sex you will have to make that happen. Okay, maybe the latter should be optional. You see, I don''t like men, but I like the thing between their legs. The demons can make it happen, like my demons here, but they tend to go with huge and not something appropriate." She said, and the contract flew to Kaylen. Kaylen looked at Alica with a question face. "A, yes, Put your hand on the paper and the contract will take effect. If you want to read it." Kaylen read everything from the contract and the four rules and the optional ones. Everything was like how Alica had said, word for word. She put her hand on it. A small white light formed around Alica and Kaylen and faded as fast as it had appeared. "Now you can go to sleep, but before you do tell me your name." "Kaylen." "Kaylen, good. I will make a list for you for who you should have killed, from the lowest power to the highest. Now, good night, and have fun. You can stay here as long as you want. You get paid one gold coin a day for training and things like that if my demons cannot teach you." She smiled at them and left from the window. The bartender closed the window and said good night to Kaylen and left. But before Kaylen went to sleep, the system showed some blue screens.

A knock came from the door. When the bartender came , she had a tray in her hands with food on it. "Eat and get ready. We will start our mission in thirty minutes. Be ready until then." She left the tray on the bed and left the door. studied the loaded tray. There was a mug of milk, two toast and a bowl of mashed potatoes and utensils. She ate the whole thing and drank the milk. She then wore her clothes, took the tray and went down to the bar. The bartender was there cleaning mugs. There were no other people in the brothel, except the demons, that didn''t do something. Kaylen left the tray on the bar and waited for the bartender to finish what she was doing. "Are you really going like that for the mission?" One demon said she had the number seven on her left side of her blouse she wore. Kaylen turned her head to the demon that spoke and nodded.
Succubus, 7, level 173.
Kaylen didn''t know how she did that. She only wanted to look at the demon and know how strong she was. That was the trigger to open the blue box. She then looked at the bartender. She had the number fifty on her and though the same thing as before.
Succubus, 50, Bartender, level 35.
Kaylen then asked the bartender. "What do the numbers on your clothes mean?" The bartender kept cleaning the mag, and when she finished, she spoke. "The lower the number, the stronger." And then return to clean another mug, and she added up. "We will leave when one comes back. Until then you can do whatever you like. Just don''t destroy anything okay?" "Okay." Kaylen went to a couch and used the martial art skill she had. 30 minutes later the ''one'' came back. And her skill was now level 3. Kaylen looked at ''one'' to learn her level.
Succubus, 1, level 312.
"I have the list with the names that Alica wants dead. There are three hundred soldiers. But today, we will focus on one group only. In that group, I spot three nobles going for essence hunting with 40 guards around them and more of them at the back. We will have to kill everyone and let no one warn the guards, in their group, they have two people with strength close to 7. Now, change to real forms." The ''one'' said and changed to her real form, and so did everyone else. The level corresponded to the sexiness they had in their demonic form and strength. All of them now had tails, were ten cm on average taller, had horns bigger than before, and the blue hue of their skin was now red. They wore close to nothing, only on the private parts and breasts they had something to hide it. And they were emitting pheromones that made people want to sexual intercourse with them, man or woman. It even affected Kaylen, but her brain shut it down. "Now, I will cast an invisibility spell on us, and move out of the gate and into the jungle they went into." It was again ''one'' who spoke. She then created runes in the air, and the runes floated around the group, even Kaylen. When ''one'' finished the spell, everyone was transparent. "Now, we leave, but make sure to not make many sounds. I created a sound nullifier spell too, but don''t count on it. It was my first time." Said ''one'' and made a signal with her hand for everyone to follow her. Kaylen moved with the group around the city, no one could see them, and no one could hear them. Kaylen saw many new things while they moved closer to the gate. She saw blacksmiths, tailor shops and many other that had signs, and others who did not. She heard and many new sounds too. Like the ringing of swords colliding with each other, kids moving happily around play with each other, and many other things. When they were in front of the gate, they waited in a corner because there was a line of people wanting to get into the city. Everyone was following the commands of ''one''. They waited for some time until there was an exchange going on with the guards and the people that wanted to go in. ''One'' gave a signal for them to move out. They successfully left the city without the guards noticing them. They moved farther away from the gate until they were in front of the vast jungle. "I saw them going inside the jungle, but nothing else." ''One'' said in a low voice. Then, they moved too, inside the jungle. "Try to look for a trail of something. There should be somewhere here." ''One'' added, she and everyone was looking at the ground for trails that could help find them. Kaylen looked at the others, and she too looked at the ground for anything that could help find them. "I found something!" One succubus said while she signaled with her hand for them to come closer. She had found the trail. There were many footprints from humans with heavy equipment. They followed the trail until they heard voices and a ground moving. "Those are the people we have to kill. Wait for more info here. I will check how many people they have, and maybe learn why they need so many." ''One'' said, and left the group. Trees were everywhere, and she used them to her advantage and as an advantage point and for her to count heads. A few minutes later, she was back. "They are heading to a new dungeon that has formed a kilometer into the jungle. There have close to three hundred people. Our targets are the nobles, but we will kill every. We will wait for them to go into the dungeon, and kill them with traps, understood?" Everyone nodded their heads and followed the crowd of soldiers. The soldiers stopped at the front of the dungeon and set up camp. From what ''one'' had learned was that the nobles were hungry and that they were exhausted. "Now we kill them when someone of them goes for scouting or other bodily needs we attack them" They waited for a few minutes until a guard left to do his thing. ''One'' moved closer to the guard, but before she could strike him with the talons that she made of her hands, Kaylen stopped her. ''One'' looked at her with rage visible in her eyes, but before she could say something, Kaylen looked up on tree branches. ''One'' followed the gaze of Kaylen''s and saw that there was another guard watching. ''One'' patted Kaylen on her shoulder and left. With agile movements that could have killed a human, she was up on a tree close to the second guard. She decapitated him, and another demon did the same to the other guard. They both worked with flawless teamwork. ''One'' came to Kaylen and gave her a warm smile and said. "Good job there newcomer, if you hadn''t warned me, we could have probably lost our targets. I will do what you want me for a night. Just ask." Kaylen nodded and then went back to looking at the cuts that the demons had made on the soldiers. She wanted to learn how the had made so good and clean cut with only her talons. She made simulations on her head that took less than a second, using the dagger she had to make such a good clean cut, but she never succeeded in making such a cut. Something in her head was saying level up the dagger mastery. And that was true. She remembered when she had unlocked the skill. She was able to make better use of the dagger than before. "Kaylen stopped spacing out, and move with us." ''One'' said. They were again close to the crowd, and ''one'' even closer to hear what they were saying. She came back and spoke. "They know that someone followed them, but they don''t know how many and who. We will wait for more of them to scout and keep killing them."This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. Something like before happened, a guard left the group and two more other followed him a little later. Again Kaylen spotted them with her skill, and ''one'' kept giving her promises. But this time, they kept one of them alive. ''One'' had said to let him alive for extraction of information. ''One'' used a spell for memory reading and found out why they were here and how they had found that someone was following them. The latter was easy to understand, they had seen more footsteps on the ground and grass. created from pure mana. "If everything is right, that means we can get the mission done, and have a new item for Alica." ''One'' spoke again, she was happy with what she had found. More and more soldiers searched for the mysterious deaths of their people. But they didn''t even found a single body because a demon had them all burned. The nobles had enough of this and said to move into the dungeon. Most of the soldiers were against the idea of going into a smaller space, but alas, they couldn''t do anything but follow the orders. They were now inside the dungeon. Turtle monster with sharp teeth and eight eyes were constantly spawned randomly around the group of the soldiers, while the group with the demons watched the show. The space they could move around was big, at least fifty soldiers could be put together in a row and still have enough space to do complex maneuvers. They had lost a few soldiers, but those that had died were the weakest of the group. Both groups moved deeper into the dungeon until there was a hundred meter tall and thirty meters wide door stopping their advance. "This is the boss room. But the door is bigger than usual, strange." Murmured ''one'' while the other succubi did the same. The nobles shouted at the soldiers to push the door open. There was excitement in their voices, and they kept repeating ''this is it''. The soldiers gave a hard push on the door, and little by little the colossal door started to open. What the saw left them with their mouths open. There was a big throne at the end of the room, while gold coins could be seen everywhere, gold armors, weapons, staffs, skeletons, and even other humans, everything was golden. At the throne was a big four meters tall green orc with four arms and muscles bigger than it''s head and it''s hand had a double-headed ax. Every succubus murmured lewd thing to each other. While the soldiers were trembling from fear. The orc shouted at the people. "Come you, little pesky humans! Come and make me work for the kills!" The orc said with a hideous smile on its face. It stood up from its throne and moved closer to the group of soldiers. The nobles were shouting at the soldier to go ahead and fight it. Kaylen looked at the orc and thought how strong it was.
Orc of the fourth arm tribe, level 50.
It was an easy enemy if the soldiers worked together. But alas, that couldn''t even be in need when they had three people that were level 130. The bost wasn''t even able to give a fight before it was dead by the three strongest humans. When the boss was dead, everything from the room disappeared, and a door on the other side appeared. soldiers again when they saw how strong the in their .soldiers moved on to the next floor.were , and every advanced and at the center ware nobles and in the more . At the second floor, the monsters that spawned were big ugly trolls. With clubs on their hands. The soldiers this time had a harder time, more and more of them were ding every second, and more and more troll attack them.
Troll, level 100
Those things were harder to kill, and the nobles shouted for them to retreat to the first floor. "This will be our best shot to kill them all." Said ''one''. You could see the lust for a fight in her eyes. It was something new that Kaylen saw on the demon. The group with the soldiers had only 60 people with them plus three nobles. ''One'' gave a signal for the other demons to make a circle around the enemy group and she started to count down with her fingers. When the countdown was over, she made a fist with her hand, and the spell broke. Every demon was visible except Kaylen. ''One'' you that she wasn''t even strong enough to fight a single soldier. She was there only to learn how they worked and learn. The demons then started to move forward with the now-terrorized soldiers. They had lost many of their people and now was their doom with those demons. Heads started flying around, cries could be heard from the soldiers and maniacal laughter from the demons. Red blood painted the floor of the dungeon and limbs and heads being the art around it. The nobles were now dead. But something strange picked up the skill of Kaylen''s being was watching everything in the shadows, but she could see it at all. She moved fast at ''one'' and told her. "Someone is watching is in the shadows, and he is watching you kill everyone." Kaylen said to the ear of ''one.'' ''One'' smiled and the flamethrower was shot from her hand around the whole floor; it even had the power to hit the roof of the floor that was 100 meters up. A burned body was found later, and the human was still alive. "Kill me you filth monsters. Everyone will eventually know where all the killing was coming from." "You are not useful if you are dead, not stay like that for a little longer, and let me read your mind." ''One'' spoke. She made her spell and started to read the human''s mind. When she was done, her face was full of rage and tortured the man over and over again, by healing him and then burning him alive over and over, until her rage was somewhat settled. She took some deep breaths and spoke. "There know what is going on and why. As I read his mind, I found that they have Alica as a suspect too. But they are not entirely sure why. Someone had seen her leaving the brothel at night with her rob, and the funny thing was because it was the same rob she used every night to go out and see us that they suspected it was her behind the attacks. We have to move and stay low for a few months. I will go to Alica when we get back." She burned the limbs and blood and then cast her spell for invisibility and they left the dungeons. When they were back in the city, it was only four in the afternoon. ''One'' then left to find Alica and the others opened the shop. Kaylen asked for something to eat and 50 went to make something for her to eat. Chapter 6 When Kaylen finished eating, she went to her bedroom. She didn''t know what to do for the day except to train her skills and she did that for the most of the afternoon. Until ''One'' had come back and asked her if she wanted something. She thought for a few seconds, and an idea came to her mind. "Some books could help me." ''One'' gave her a small nod and left the room. Kaylen kept strengthening her skill Mantra of Colossal Stamina until it was night and she had to go to sleep. Her skill was now level 8. She had gained a level on the Enchanted Stamina regeneration later that night too. However, sleep came, and she had to stop for a quick sleep session. ''One'' came at night, placed the books on the floor for Kaylen and left.
Sleep efficiency is now level 12. Runic mind cores are now 72.
The next day, Kaylen woke up from a dreamless sleep, but she felt good. She only needed to sleep for four hours, and there was still dark outside. She looked at the books on the floor, but she could have to wait to read them. She could hear a small noise coming from downstairs that meant the shop was still open, and the demons were working. Kaylen stayed in her bedroom and used her skill Mantra of Colossal Stamina. Two hours basted before the first light came in.

Kaylen read the blue screens and dismissed them. Everything was well and good, but if she didn''t have to do something, there was no point in doing any of this. Good thing that ''One'' had given her some books to read and now with the sun coming out, she could finally read them. There were five books, and the first book had the title monsters and weaknesses. She picked it up and read it. The book was thick with at least 500 pages, but always the left page had a picture of the monster and on the other the weaknesses and some other pieces of information.

As of now, her runic mind worked like seven adult brains, but she wasn''t having many thoughts just some basic stuff. Because she had skipped the infant stage of the brain, her thoughts process had developed very little if not at all. And now this was what was going on, her mind making ideas as to what she should do next. She had still a long way to go, but with time her brain would develop for the task. A knock came from the door when she was at the half of the book. It was ''Fifty'' with her food, she left the food and left. It was the same as the previous morning. She ate fast and went back to reading. The book was very enlightening, and her brain liked that. It had even the orc with the four arms and how someone had to kill it. A note from the book about the enlighted species was, for example, an orc could be an enlighted species and be a being made of pure mana and with a mana core. There was an easy way to distinguish who was who, and that was by how they reacted to a human or another being. For orcs it was like this, the pure mana one could attack you when he spotted you, while the other could challenge you first. She finished reading the book and went to the next one. The second book had a title How to use mana. It was a small book and explained how to use mana. It was easy to understand. The third book had a title Known continents and human cities. The city Kaylen was on was the capital of the empire and where the emperor lived. The city''s name was Reoburgh. Reoburgh was connected with three other human cities. To the jungle that was at the south of Reoburgh were wood-elves living to a small town deep inside. There was only one continent know as of now. The fourth book was named Spells and runes 101. That one was the thickest of them all, it had many theorized spells and runes. Something strange she found out about this book was that she could understand some of the runes and the meaning but not all of them. A filling on the back of her mind was saying that those runes she knew were just the basic alphabet per say. The more complex ones were a combination of more runes or a new rune altogether. As for the spells, there were two ways to cast them. You could use your mana to cast a spell instantly but with lower efficiency, or could cast a spell with runes and have greater efficiency. There were pros and cons to both ways, but if you could learn more complex runes, you could cast spells faster and have better, or worse efficiency. The fifth had a title How to train your body 101. That was the simplest of them all. It gave a way of training routing that had the best effect to the body. After she finished every book, she looked outside, and it was night time again. Her stomach growling loudly, and she knew she had to eat. She went downstairs with the tray. The shop was lively as always. She went to the bar and asked ''Fifty'' for more food. "You know? You haven''t done a thing for a whole day. If you want more thing to eat work for it. We have some dishes to clean at the back. If you do that, I will think about giving you more food. For tomorrow and onwards because you will have nothing else to do. You will have to go hunting with ''One'' and pull your weight like that. We lose money with you doing nothing but only eating. I know it was just a day but still, money is money. Now, move at the back and clean those dishes. I have more people to serve, and I''m going out of plates to serve." She then pushed Kaylen to the back fo the bar where a small kitchen, there were two demons with numbers '' forty-nine'' and ''forty-eight'' making food, and a pile of dishes to a corner. She went to the corner, and she saw the dishes, a soap, a sponge and a tap. She picked up the sponge and gave it a small squeeze. It was soft like how it was supposed to be. Then with the other hand, she picked up the soap and look at it for a second. The definition for the soap came to her mind. She then looked at the tap and did the same thing as the soap. She turned the tap and water flowed from it, the more she turned it the tap more water came out. She lowered the pressure and put her hand with the soap on the flowing water. It was cold, but it could do the job. She then picked up again the sponge and rubbing them together. She did that for a few seconds and she put down the soap and put the sponge on the flowing water. When it had some water in it, she removed it from the water and closed the tap completely. She then picked up a dirty dish from the mountain of dishes and cleaned it. Hours passed like that, her cleaning dishes over and over again. She even got the skill cleaning for her efforts, and now it was at level 3. It made the cleaning faster and easier. Like she had cleaned dishes for all her life. "You are done for today!" Shouted ''Fifty'' after the clock had hit midnight. Kaylen stopped what she was doing and left the kitchen. She was happy that she learned something new and she was going to get her food finally. A few minutes later and had a plate in front of her with the same food. She ate fast and went back to her room. ''Fifty'' shook her head when she saw that, but said nothing.

The next day, ''One'' came early in the morning to get Kaylen to go hunting. "Why you didn''t use the invisibility spell this time?" Asked Kaylen when they were in the jungle. "Well, because we didn''t need it. We aren''t in a mission. And I''m not in my demonic form, to have to use it. We try to keep our business as legal as possible no matter what we do in the shadows. Now, now. Focus on hunting any animal with meat on it. I will follow you, but I will do nothing to help expect if you are going to die, then I will make my presence clear. Good luck Kaylen." She said with a smile on her face and become invisible. Now, Kaylen was alone in the middle of the jungle, at least she remembered how to get away from there, so that was good news. Her skill wasn''t picking any presence close by, expect the demon that kept following her. Now, she learned that her skill could detect invisible beings too. She passed the dungeon and went deeper. The first thing that her detection skill picked up was a big animal moving close to her. It was a wolf stalking her from a bush a little farther away from her. She looked at the bush and picked the dagger from her pants, and waited for the animal to attack. The wolf understood that it had been spotted and moved away from the bush and howled. The detection skill of her could only detect beings that were at max 40 meters away from her. More and more wolves came closer and closer to her. There were ten of them. She focused on the first wolf to learn the level that it had.Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.
Grey wolf, level 5.
If it was one on one, she could have won, but ten on 1, that was going to be hard. The wolf came closer to her. She could see every single one of them. She started to think hard for her first time in her life, or else she was going to be the next mean for the wolves. She didn''t want that to happen to her. She started to think and think, and at last, an idea came to her mind. Flamethrower, like how ''One'' had done. A video played in her mind, it was ''One'' using the flamethrower spell. The spells and runes books came to her mind with all the pages. All those things took less than a second to be processed by her brain. The alphabet runes came to her mind, the runes had a way to be put together to make a spell. With what she understanding, she created her first spell, but the simulation that played in her mind always failed. She tried to create different kinds of spells, but all simulations failed. She was missing something, but she had no time to think about it. A second idea came to mind. Climb a tree. She searched for the closest tree. She found one that was in the circle that the wolves had made, and climbed it. Good thing she had trained her Mantra of Colossal Stamina because when she was on the branches of the tree, she was panting. But now, she had a safe space, and more time to think. The wolves were now around the tree looking at her. She examined what was wrong with the spell she made. Insufficient mana played in her mind every time the simulation ended. She then remembered, she could use mana without the runes to create a spell. She created simulations of herself casting the skill, but what she got was a flamethrower with the same power of ''One'' with a duration that was even less than a second. That wasn''t what she had expected. She couldn''t use the spell as it was right now. She thought for a few seconds. A flamethrower with less distraction and lower heat output could make the change in mana cost. She created again the spell with the runes for the skill, but this time she gave specific values for the heat output of the flame, how far it could go and how big the spread should be. The simulations showed a continuous flame that was ejected from her hand that could travel horizontally as far as 3 meters and with a heat output of 200 degrees Celsius. But all was based on mana input, if she could somehow give double the mana on the runes, she could make the flame hotter and the distance farther.
Spell Flamethrower unlocked.
She pointed with her finger to a wolf and though for the skill to active. A jet of flames erupted from her finger and to the target. The wolf hadn''t expected something like that, and its wool was now on fire. All the wolves became warier of her. She could see it on their eyes. Every wolf was now focused and always expecting the next attack. She used her skill again, but she though for it to get double the mana from her. She felt a pull, and a jet of fire with double the firepower exploded from her finger and hit another target, but the downside on this was she had no more mana for her use. Both targets died after a few seconds, one from the burns and the other from the blood loss. The wolves saw that the target was harder than they expected and turned tail. +25% +25% ''One'' stopped the invisibility spell, took the wolves carcasses and gave Kaylen a thumbs up. She then went invisible again. Kaylen took the clue, and deeper into the forest. While she was walking her skilled picked up a being that was to her left coming closer. She looked at the direction of the being but what she saw was a black orb moving closer to her, her mind calculated that the thing could hit her in less than a seconds. The target of this orb was Kaylen''s face, and the being could have succeeded if Kaylen didn''t have the skill. She dodged the black orb, and when it collided with a tree, the tree color became all black and dissipated with the flow of the air. The being that shot the orb was a big rabbit, bigger than the wolves. It had four bigger sharp teeth, two pointing downwards and two pointing upwards, eight eyes and four front legs. It could be said it was cute, but the teeth and the eyes destroyed the image. The rabbit opened its mouth, and a black orb started to form again. Kaylen with a dagger in her hand ran in the direction of the rabbit while it was charging the orb. When the orb was big enough to eat the rabbit''s head whole, it stopped charging it and let it fly at Kaylen. It was bigger and faster than before, but still slow. Kaylen dodged the orb, and now she was less than a meter to the rabbit.
Mutated Rabbit (black magic), level 10.
The power it had was level 10, but that was the power of the orb that made its level so high. In close combat, it was just plain garbage, and the only thing it could do was bite. Kaylen now was at the front of the rabbit. The rabbit started to charge another orb, but Kaylen didn''t let it finish up the charge. She attacked her dagger at the nose of the rabbit. Blood came out from the deep cut with every pump the heart of the rabbits did. It stopped the orb charge up and tried to attack Kaylen, but the latter had expected that and backed off. The rabbit was enraged with Kaylen. It had lost with that simple exchange of attacks the most important part of its body that was after its ears and eyes. It didn''t like that at all and hated Kaylen even more because of that, but the bite attacks never connected. The rabbit tried to bite Kaylen over and over again, but Kaylen didn''t let it attack without her attacking it. After ten exchanges Kaylen saw that the rabbit''s legs were trembling, not from fear but exhaustion. She knew that it was the time to attack hard, and she did. She dodged a bite again and moved to the right side of the rabbit. With the help of the dagger, she cut its abdomen. It was a cut that made some of its organs hit the ground and blood spill everywhere. That was the last exchange of attacks for the rabbit. It died a second after the wound. +50%

And now she knew why she had no thoughts in numbers. ''One'' again left the invisibility spell and took the carcass of the rabbit. The wolves had magically disappeared from her hands, and so did the rabbit. Kaylen didn''t ask anything. "So, enough for today. Come, let''s go back and have a drink. This was your first time doing something like this and, we should celebrate." ''One'' said, while she moved away from Kaylen and to the city. When they were back to the shop, Kaylen moved to her bedroom and thought about things. She didn''t stay with ''One'', she just wanted some time alone to think. ''One'' understood what was going on and left her alone for the time being. Chapter 7 While Kaylen was thinking in her room, ''One'' looked at ''Fifty'' and with excitement spoke. "Kaylen learned her first spell! It was the flamethrower that I always use! She did indeed read the books that a gave her. And she got her first power essence advancement. I asked her to celebrate, but she went to her bedroom." ''Fifty'' studied for a few seconds ''One'' and then said. "You are not joking, are you?" "Yeap, I was it with my own eyes and, in fact, she burned two wolves with the said spell." And then she took out the two wolf carcasses and placed them on the bar. ''Fifty'' looked at the wolves and the burnt wool. She took them and moved them to the kitchen. "So, how did she learned the spell? Did you see her try at all?" ''One'' shook her head indicating a no. "She didn''t do a thing, in an instant she was circled by wolves and the other she was using a spell." "You know, you don''t give much of detail you know. Try to be more specific if you can." ''One'' sighed and told the whole story. When ''One'' finished the story, ''Fifty'' had a thoughtful look on her face. "What is she just created the skill with just mana manipulation and not with runes? You can''t know that." "I tell you, she used runes, and she didn''t even write something in the air or used an incarnation. She has pitiful mana reserves, and because of that she couldn''t have cast the spell two times and the second cast became stronger than the first one. I''m sure she used runes with her brain!" "Nah, she didn''t, it was just mana." ''Fifty'' just kept believing her thing, she was right though, Kaylen hadn''t use any runes. She made the skill with runes, but the execution was with just mana and not with the help of runes. The simulations needed the spell with the runes to make sure that it worked and not blow up herself. "But, I am sure for one thing, the spell was made with runes from the start but she used it with just mana." ''One'' said and left. She didn''t like when one of her sisters challenged her to information work at all. But, she was wrong this time and forgot to give the rabbit carcass. ... Kaylen was in her bedroom, still, think what to do with the stats points and the skill point. Wisdom +0.01 The message was repeated ten more times before Kaylen said to use the skill point on the flamethrower skill.
Skill point used on Spell Flamethrower Spell Flamethrower +1 The skill point has double the bonuses from every level on this skill.
Kaylen read the message, and she now wanted to use the skill right now. But her mana wasn''t even half full yet. But not everything was lost, she could use the simulation like she had done to make the skill. She did that and found nothing had changed. Nothing at all, same mana cost, same range, same heat out. She read the message once more and facepalmed herself. Of course, nothing had changed, because the message said ''double the bonuses for every level''. She had no levels on the skill. After she finished with that, she had to place the stats points. She placed all the points in wisdom. She wanted thoughts. Finishing and with that, she went downstairs. "Can we go hunting again?" Asked Kaylen, she wanted to level up more and be more powerful. ''One'' looked at her and smiled. "Not today, we have to open the shop. We can go tomorrow but only if you wake up early. Now go back to the kitchen and get ready to clean more dishes." Kaylen followed the instruction and went back to the kitchen. ''Forty-nine'' and ''Forty-eight'' were back in the kitchen with her. Everyone was ready for work. Her day passed like that, her cleaning more dished. When it was midnight ''Fifty'' told her that she was could eat and go to sleep. The next day.

She smiled and went downstairs really fast. She was ready for more thing to do today, but when she was downstairs, she found no one. Everything was quiet and with no one around. The door was locked for the inside. Her skill was screaming to her that some people were here. She had felt that someone was here from the start, but she thought that they were demons and not someone else. People were coming from the stairs trying to be quiet with every move, but Kaylen already knew that they were there, and closing in. From her skill, she picked more than the fifty demons that worked here. She turned around and used all of her mana to the flamethrower spell. The spell had three times the power, and more than half of the people were aflame from the power of the spell. "Do not let her run away!" A manly voice was heard from the back, while Kaylen was trying to open the door. She succeeded with the door and ran away as fast as she could.

You are now level 9. Running unlocked. Athletics unlocked.
She didn''t know where to run expect to keep running. She used 6 points to upgrade the Mantra of Colossal Stamina to +3 and 1 point to running and athletics. She kept running, and she felt like she could continue running like that forever. She didn''t know what was following her, but the only thing she knew was they were soldiers, and no demon was alive. She ran to some back alleys until she was in an unknown location. Her skill didn''t pick up any soldier following her only the people in there houses sleeping. She didn''t know what happen and why. But she knew something was up with Alica. They probably found out what Alica was doing in the shadows. She thought little more and more things came up. Maybe it was the mission, people knew that they were deaths of nobles and they used baits to drow out the assassin; while they were out from the shop, someone came and checked the shop. A wild guess but she was on point. A guard had come from the shop to check it out and found now one. But the problem was how she didn''t wake up, and how did they kill ''One''? How did Alica was found out, everything was in chaos. She stopped thinking and used all the stats on wisdom. The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings. Her skill picked soldiers searching ever alley they could. She had to move, it was still night outside, and the visibility was limited. There were lamps on the main streets that gave light around the road but that was all the lamps could provide. She ran to the gate to where the jungle was, but she found guards. The good thing was they were sleepy, and she could probably pass them without them chasing her. She pasted the gate without the guard giving her chase. They didn''t even look at her. She was now in the jungle, and she knew that being here while it was still dark wasn''t a good idea but she had to do something for her to survive. She left the jungle and went to the closest road she found and ran the way the road was going. She ran for more than eight hours before she saw the new city. When the distance between the city and her was five km she stopped. She searched for somewhere to hide. She found a mountain with a forest on the left side of the city, the forest was at least 300 kilometers away, but she could make it. Eight more our later, she was at the beginning of the mountain. She then climbed a tree, she felt exhausted and hungry. She found a big branch and slept on it. She woke up by some wolves that were circling the tree, waiting for her to drop down or something. Ker skill picked up at least 30 of them.
Black Wolf Alpha (mutated), level 34.
''Why do bad thing always happen to me?.....HEY, this was my first thought!'' Her eyes opened wide but the discovery, but the thing was she always had thoughts just not conscious. She used her flamethrower with all her mana to the Alpha wolf and but he was fast on his feet and succeed in dodging the skill. Kaylen though for some time as to what to do. She couldn''t go down to the wolves and have a fight. She couldn''t our run the wolves, and she hadn''t enough mana to kill the wolves. ''Maybe a new spell that could be faster than the flamethrower maybe could do the trick.'' She made more simulations with runes. When a few minutes had passed, she had a new spell that could help her do the thing she wanted.
Spell Firebolt unlocked.
It had the same mana cost as the flamethrower, but it was much faster and stronger, but she had only one shot. She waited for her mana to come back. When she was full, she used it on the Alpha wolf. The bolt went straight to the target and hit the head of the wolf. She had only used the base mana that the speel needed. The wolf shook it head for a few seconds and went back to looking at Kaylen. Kaylen used again the skill with double the mana and a faster and bigger firebolt came from her pointing finger. It hit the wolf on the head again and this time it caved in a little bit. This particular wolf had high vitality and couldn''t just die from those simple spells. After a couple of hours later, the wolves left. They saw that nothing was happening and Kaylen wasn''t going to fight them. They could go hungry for today, and Kaylen could live for the day. When she was sure the wolves had left, she climbed down the tree and searched for something to eat. ''If there are wolves here and thirty of them, that means there should be food somewhere, the question is where.'' She moved around the mountain forest, searching for something to eat. After a few minutes, her detection skill picked up a small animal moving around. She stealthily moved to where the animal was laying around and attacked it with her dagger. It was a lizard not a small animal if you counted that lizards shouldn''t be that big. It was half the height of a wolf and had a skin tougher than iron.
Earth Dragon, kid, level 352.
When Kaylen saw the level and the name, and she turned tail. This wasn''t like the jungle in the capital city but a forest with danger everywhere. And she now understood why the wolves had picked her and not the other animals. She ran back to the tree she had slept on, and stayed there for a minute, thinking about what she should do. If she wanted to go back to the city she could get killed, if she stayed here she could get killed, so where to go? She didn''t want to run away again. She made up her mind and started to search for small targets, not the dragons, to kill and eat of course. She found some rabbits that were coming out of a dungeon every couple of seconds. She went closer to get the level of the rabbit and see if she should run away or fight. When she was closer, she stopped, she felt something comming this way, it was the earth dragon she had found comming to kill some of those rabbits. Kaylen waited for the dragon to finish killing and eating. But what the dragon did was to stay there and wait for more of those bunnies. It was like the dragon was taunting her to come out. Kaylen left the spot and searched for more thing to try and kill. But with an empty stomach and probably 4 kilos lighter, it wasn''t the best idea to move too much. She kept searching and searching until she found an actual rabbit moving around, it was like the mutated rabbit she had killed. Only this time it was 30 level. Kaylen got ready to attack the rabbit, while the rabbit was eating grass. She moved silently closer to the rabbit and targeted the stomach area of the rabbit. When she was sure that she could hit the target, she attacked. Blood came from the wound on the rabbit, it flowed like how river water flows. Painting every green thing in red. The rabbit looked at Kaylen and attacked, it had the same 4 sharp teeth and 8 eyes. They trade blows for some time until the rabbit died from blood loss. Kaylen had taken some hit too. SHe had a big wound on her left shoulder and broken bones on the same hand. She didn''t know what she should do with the wound but she knew she had now something to eat. She did what the dragon had done to the rabbits. She took her dagger and started cutting pieces of meat from the rabbit and eating it raw. It wasn''t the brightest idea, but she was hungry. She ate at least 3 kilos of meat. She left the carcass where it was, and left the site. She had picked wolves coming her way. They had smelled the dead being and wanted a part of it. Kaylen went back to her tree and slept for the night. She had done so many things and she didn''t know what else she should next. Chapter 8 Kaylen woke up because the tree was shaking. She looked at what was shaking the tree, and she saw a bigger dragon than before. "Finally awake? Good, have you seen my child human? He looks like me but smaller." "Yes, I saw him close to a dungeon eating some rabbits. But that was a day before." "Thank you for your help human!" The earth dragon ran away with blurring speed. In an instant, it was at the tree and the other 100 meters away. Kaylen could hear branches break and the ground shaking. She at least had taken her sleep. The wound on her left shoulder was healed and closed, and she didn''t feel hungry as of now. Plus, she had gained some muscle weight after she had eaten the raw meat. She stretched, and climb down the tree. She was still in the same forest she was before, but this time, the forest had trees broken in half and feet crates on the ground. The earth dragon was a moving tank that could run at least 300km/h with 2 tonnes of weight. No one could want to fight something like this even in their dreams. Kaylen had the bright idea to leave the forest. It wasn''t safe in the slightest. She thought it was better to stay in the city while soldiers chase her around rather than fight something she could never win. 4 hours later she was at the front of the city gate. In the last two days, she had made an explosive growth than what she had done in all her lifetime. In front of the gate, there were some guards, but she let her pass without stopping her. She looked around, and she didn''t found soldiers chasing her around. Even the detection skill found nothing unusual. The city was as big as Reoburgh, the walls were the same height, but the population here was far more than the capital city. She could even see other human-like people here. From beast to alien beings. What she found more interesting was, that everyone worked with each other in harmony. Big bear headed humans with wool on them and four arms working with a small child like humanoid with glasses. Everything was interesting for Kaylen. She searched for an inn to stay, and a job to make a living. The first was pretty easy to do. The inn had no name, but it housed many people. The receptionist was an octopus. "So, what do you want? A room, food, or both?" Asked the octopus with a pleasant sounding voice. "Both please." Said Kaylen. "The cost for one room and a meal is one silver per day. You will also get one meal a day for free. Just ask for it, and we will make it. As for your room, it on the third-floor number 32 ." She gave the silver, and he gave her a key with a number on it. "Can I ask you something else?" The octopus gave her signal with one of its eight arms to continue. "Do you know where I can find a job?" "Let me think... Hmmm, the adventure guild can give you quests to complete with a reward, or you can go to the board close to the gate and see if someone wants to hire." "And where is the adventure guild?" "It the building with a shield and a sword as a logo." Kaylen thanked him and went to her room. She wanted to try if she could make other spells like the firebolt or something entirely new. But she didn''t know what to make. She could make everything technically, but she didn''t have any new ideas expect fire. She stopped thinking about it and went to get the free meal at the inn. She ate and when outside, searching for the guild building. An hour later she found the building. It had a gin interior with receptionists helping adventures and tables who adventures where eating and drinking. Many of them looked at the newcomers like Kaylen but didn''t give her much attention, expect some whistles but nothing else. Kaylen ignored everyone and went to a line, waiting for the receptionist to finish with the other until it was her time to get help. A few minutes later, it was her turn. "How may I help you?" Ask the woman behind the desk. "I would like to get a quest to make some money." The receptionist looked at her like she was looking at a fool. People behind her started to laugh with what they heard. "Sorry but I''m not the one who gives the quest and second you don''t have a badge. You have to first register as the guild''s member to be able to take quests and get paid." Answered the receptionist while she was trying not to laugh. Kaylen didn''t know why they were laughing, but she knew it was because she said something that made them laugh. "I would like to join the guild." The receptionist gave her some papers and a pen. "Write your name, age, and your specializations." Kaylen looked at the paper and the pain. She wrote her name and everything down. She knew how to write because of all the books she had read and how the latter was written down. "Okay, we are done." And with that, the receptionist gave her a wooden badge. "The wooden badge is the lowest tier, that means you can take quest only with the wooden insignia on the top left of the quest paper. You can find the quest there." And she pointed at a huge board, with people looking at it. "When you find a quest you like, you take the paper from the board, and you bring it to me. I will give the quest on your badge. You can see the progress of your quest on the badge by giving it some mana. It communicates via though, so don''t be shocked by that. It will give you the number of things left for you to finish the quest. Let''s say, you have a quest to kill 10 rats and you have killed only 5, if you give mana to the badge, it will tell you how many you have killed, and how many are left to be killed to get your reward. Understood?" Kaylen nodded. "Then we are done, be careful with the badge. If you lose it, the next one you will have to pay." After that, she went to the board, looking for a quest to take. She found many quests to kill rabbits, and they were for her tier. Most of the adventures skipped those, but for her, it was free money and free levels. The pay wasn''t high, one bronze for five dead rabbits wasn''t the best thing. She could have to kill 500 of those to make a silver coin. But she could sell the rabbits to gain more money. She picked the quest that asked for her to kill the rabbits and went to the receptionist. "Done already?" The receptionist read the quest and said. "I can give you a repeatable quest from the guild if you want, but the pay will be one bronze per seven rabbits. But you can do whatever you like with the bodies." "I will go with the repeatable quest then." "Give me your badge." Kaylen gave the badge to the receptionist, and she made a few runes on the air. When she was done, she forced the runes into the badge. "All done. You can see on the badge how many you have killed and how much you will get paid. Something else I forgot to say is that the badge has a portable 5 cubic meters of spatial-space inside it. Use it however you like. And kill as many of those binnies you can. Good luck." Kaylen left the guild building and went outside the city searching for rabbits to kill. Well, they were technically everywhere, but because no one was actively hunting them, she thought they were just there doing rabbit staff and not making some else day worse. But now she could kill them like crazy level up and make some money as a bonus. She saw farmers trying to shoo away the rabbits, but all they succeed doing was making the rabbits eat more of their crops. Kaylen saw the rabbits level and grind. The average level of the rabbits was 4. And that was why most adventurers didn''t try to hunt them. The amount of essence they could get from killing them was minute for the average adventurer. There were other methods of gaining power, but most people use the hunting method. As to why the farmer didn''t attempt killing the rabbits was because most of the time more of them could come, and it was a pain in the ass to chase them. That was why they posted quests for people to kill them, and hoped new adventurers come and kill them.Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings. But for Kaylen all of this was a plus, fewer people more profit. She used magic to kill the first rabbit. It took two firebolts in the head before it died. But now she was out of mana. But that was not a problem for Kaylen. She had the dagger. She hunted them until her stomach said to stop and eat something. Her dagger mastery had hit level 2, and she felt the change in how she gripped the dagger plus she could attack faster and stronger. Even her firebolt had leveled up one time.

''SHIT! No one told me I will stop gaining skill points. I should have kept them.'' She stopped bitching and went to the inn to eat. The cost of the food was 30 bronze and her net income was now -23. She hadn''t gained any money from just hunting the rabbits, but she could sell them. She had found a way to put the rabbits into the badge, and that was just by thinking. She had 50 dead rabbits inside the badge. After she finished eating, she went back to the guild to take the bronze. The receptionist gave her 7 bronze only. Now she had to sell the rabbits, the easiest way was to sell them to a butcher, but first, she had to found one. She asked around people to where to find one. When she did she find the building she saw many cut up dead animals on cells. She went inside and a muscular 2-meter clerk was waiting for people to pick what meat the wanted. "I want to sell rabbits." Said Kaylen. The clerk moved his head and looked at Kaylen. "You aren''t kidding right?" He said while he tried to hide a small from his face. "Nope, I have 50 of them." "10 bronze per rabbit with or without wool. We have been out of stock for more than a week. You are a business saver! Come on give me the rabbits!" "Here?" "Yea, right. Emm, Follow me." He said while he kept trying to not be sound too excited. He had an image to uphold. They went to the back of the building that had some stairs going downwards. They went to the basement, and Kaylen felt the temperature drop. She could even see her breath. "Put them here." Kaylen did what she was told, and emptied the badge. The clerk''s eyes went wide from the number of rabbits Kaylen had slain and with a smile added. "If you can bring me this amount of rabbits a day, I can give you 12 bronze per rabbit." "Deal" Said Kaylen. They went back to the main building and hand her 6 silver. Now her net income had gone up. "Glad to do business with..." "Kaylen." "Kaylen. And come back if you have more rabbits because they sell fast." She waved at her while Kaylen was leaving. She waved back and went to her way. This has been an exciting day, to say the least, and she had learned new things. What she didn''t know was that someone was stalking her in the shadows. Her skill hadn''t pick anything that tried to attack her, only the people moving around and the person stalking her, but she didn''t give much thought. She went back to the inn and to her room. She wanted to think of a new spell and this time try to make something new. The person that was stalking her moved inside her room from the window. "Hello ''One''." Said Kaylen, while ''One'' removed her invisibility spell. "How did you know that I was in here?" Kaylen looked at her but said nothing. "So you don''t want to say, that''s okay. I came here to inform you that you have been in the wanted list on the empire. But on the bright side, Alica isn''t a suspect anymore for the attacks but you. Be careful from now on, they will send people to kill you. And don''t trust no one. If you see that any of the people here look at you funny, leave the city and go somewhere." And with that ''One'' left the build and Kaylen alone. ''Damn it, and I though for once I will have a day without bad things coming my way! Well, bitching won''t help me, time to think of a spell.'' And she went back to her research on finding a new spell. Chapter 9 Kaylen took her time thinking about a new spell. It was night time when an idea came to her. She wanted to create a skill that could convert stamina to mana. Because of her high stamina regen, she never felt tired when she was doing something physical. After the whole thinking process, the creating part was the easiest. She only had a set of runes she had to put in place for her skill to work. When she finished with that, she went to sleep. She woke up the next day and saw a blue screen confirming her new skill.
Spell Accelerated mana regeneration. Use stamina to accelerate the mana regeneration. (The spell is inefficient.) Mana consumption per second for the skill to be active is 1, and the stamina to mana conversion is 1. You neither gain nor lose mana. (For level 0. At higher levels the spell will become more efficient.)
Kaylen hadn''t expected to be this bad, but neither this good. It was bad because it was inefficient, but good because she could use more mana to make the skill level go up faster. She activated the skill with the max mana she could use, which was 3. In just 4 seconds the skill level up. Now the skill could create more mana, but it still had low efficiency. She went and ate the free meal and paid for extra days to stay. Then, she went to the farm fields to kill more rabbits and sell them to the butcher. Five days passed with nothing unusual. And she learned something new about the skills. They had a max level cap. Who did she learn that? Because her new spell had hit the max level which was 100. She could still gain exp for the skill for the next level, but two days now it was stuck at 50%, and it was going up pretty slowly. But she the good thing with her new skill was her mana capacity had gone up. Just by using the new spell she was getting more and more mana. She had managed to gain 3 gold coins in those 5 days. Another interesting thing was her clothes. They could repair themselves, change colors and always be clean. She had learned that by getting many scratches on her stomach by the rabbits. As for the color, it was because she wanted to blend into the environment for easier kills. And for the last, because some blood had hit her all over her body, but her clothes had burned the blood and anything else that wasn''t Kaylen''s. Most of the times, she used the color black for her clothes. But always something good has a stop. She had found with her skills that people were following her, and were many of them. She ran out of the city and to the forest with the earth dragons. The name of the forest, from what she had learned, was the bloody and deadly forest. Not many people had survived it, and those who did never went back. Four hours later, she was in front of the forest. She was able to see the people that were chasing her. There were at least 500 of them. They kept shouting while moving. Sometimes for her to stop, and others asking for her head. She wasn''t going to do any of what they asked. It was clear that they wanted her dead, and she wasn''t going to let them have an easy kill. That was why she had chose to go to the forest. She ran into the forest. Her target was the peak of the mountain. Her detection skill could still pick the presence of the people following her and other monsters. But she had to stop because in front of her was a known presence that she never wanted to cross again. It was the adult earth dragon. But this time, he wasn''t alone, she could feel two other dragons, the kid and probably the mother. The adult earth dragon looked at her. She moved in a circle while keeping the same distance from them. When she was on the other side, she did a little bow and ran for her life. She was lucky this time, the earth dragon remembered her, and that was why it had left her alone. Hell, she could have let her pet him if she wanted, but he wasn''t going to say something like that to a human. But that couldn''t be said for the human that could come next. It was a clear massacre. Blood was the only thing that was left the 500 soldiers that followed her. Kaylen didn''t know that, and she kept running to the peak of the mountain. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. A few hours had passed with her keep running, and now she was at the peak, looking at the forest. She could see the city on her left side and on her right a vast desert. She looked around the mountain peak and found a small cave entrance going downwards. She went inside because it was cold. The clothes didn''t give any resistance to heat or cold. When she was inside, she found cells with many books on and in them and an orb floating in the air. A humanoid shape came out of it, he/she was wearing robes from head to toe. "Welcome to my library of knowledge. This knowledge will now be yours because death had come to me. I had made this orb at the year 13053 of the elven calendar. Here, you can find how to create new spells, many martial arts skills, random knowledge and many more. This ring has many more advanced books from those that are displayed. But to bind with it, you should have more power than me. Now, please read all the books that are on display and when you are done. Take the ring and leave. If you travel by the desert, there will be a thousand km of traveling before you get to the first civilization. That was all." With that, the orb lost its power and dropped to the ground with a loud noise. Kaylen was with her mouth open. The good days hadn''t stopped just yet. She picked a random book from the cells. It had a thick layer of dust, but the book was in a good shape, without yellow pages or anything. The book she had picked was called Body enhancements. It was a relatively small book with 100 pages. But Kaylen didn''t have time to think about this. People were following her. Or at least they used to, but now they were all dead. She waited for a few hours. Her skills didn''t pick anything new, or anything for that matter. She went back to the book she had picked and began reading it. It was written in a different language from what the people on the cities spoke, but Kaylen could read it anyways. When she finished the book, she tried to make a body spell like how the book had said. She only had to use the most basic runes that could empower her body by just giving mana to them. The book also said that she could use advance runes or glyphs if she wanted by she hadn''t anything like that as of yet. The basic form of the skill was given by the book. She copied the spell and tried to simulate it. What she got back was not enough mana. But she wanted to learn the skill anyways.
Basic Body empowerment. Empowers the body by 100% to every stat. Cost 50 mana/sec. When leveled up, only mana cost goes down.
She activated the skill. Runes formed everywhere on her body, and disappear in an instant. She didn''t have the mana.
The spell can''t be leveled up anymore. Spell Efficient Accelerated mana regeneration was created. Has double the performance with the same cost as the previous skill. (Both can be used at the same time.)
This was good for her, but not enough to use the new Body spell indefinitely. She wanted to read more books, but her stomach was making funny noises. It was time for her to eat. But what to eat? She could go back to the city, but the risk of more people following her stopped those thoughts. The next thing was to kill something in the forest, but she had the same problem like before, it was risky. ''Maybe a book that can teach me how to make food?'' She searched the cells but found no related book with what she wanted. Only a book with how to create plants, who would want to create new plants? She read the whole book, and she created the basic spell. The name of the spell was Basic Plants Cultivation. She was now able to create whatever plat she wanted. But with her so low mana, it was probably impossible to create something useful for now. She used the spell to create a pant that was edible. She used her 2 spells for mana regeneration and made her new plant. It was a small purple tree that came out from the ground. It had a height of 20 centimeters, and small nuts at the braches. It looked like a berry bush. She picked all the nuts from the tree and eat them. They had no flavor what so ever, but she felt her stomach full. Now with her stomach full, she read the next book, she did that over and over again. Two days passed before she finally finished every book that was on the cells. Chapter 10 She had finished every book. There were a lot of exciting books, but what she liked the most was the affinity books. Especially metal, she could create many things with just mana and some metal. Affinities were the basics of casting skills without runes. If she had the flame affinity, she could be able to use the two spells she had without creating any runes. But there was no time for that. People were outside of the cave. To be exact, they were 51 people, and by what she was getting from the skill, it was Alica and the crew. How did they find her, she didn''t know. All she knew was that they were coming to the cave. Alica''s head popped at the entrance of the cave. "So, you were here. You didn''t get the message that I send you?" Kaylen looked at her, with a confusion. "I will take that as a no. It seems that someone had stopped the messages going out." She pondered. A few seconds later she looked again at Kaylen. "So, what did you find here?" She went inside and saw all the books that were on the cells. "Books?! Who could have left books here?" She picked up one of the books and looked at Kaylen. "All I know came from the orb." Said Kaylen and pointed at the orb. "It was a black-clothed person, that spoke about the books and that he had made the orb at the year 13053 of the elven calendar." "13053 you said?" Alica looked even more confused. "We are a thousand years ahead, how did the books survive?" She didn''t ask someone in particular, mostly herself. Kaylen saw that she had a tick when she was thinking, she could bite her lower lip. Kaylen waited for Alica to finish her thoughts. When Alica stopped biting her lower lip, Kaylen spoke. "So what do we do now? I mean, did you do what you wanted to the emperor or no?" Alica spoke without moving her head from the book. "Not yet. We will have to go to the elven city that is at least a month away. And I came here to get you. By the way sorry for what happened. I hadn''t expected anything like that to happen. Sorry." She apology was genuine, but Kaylen didn''t give much thought, she didn''t care. "So when do we leave?" Asked Kaylen. "We can leave now, but it will take too much time, and we will have to fight the winter, that will come in a month from now." "I do not have anything else to do. We can leave now." "Excellent!" She put the book back to the cell and went out. Kaylen picked every single book and placed it in the badge she had. Space was enough for every book. She stored every book and picked up the ring too.
Ring of knowledge. Requirement level to use the ring: 1300.
Kaylen lost it. "Why everything needs such a big level requirement. I don''t get it." "Are you coming?" Asked Alica. "Yes, now!". Now, the group of 52 people began the one month travel. Well, mostly running. "If we run continuously, we can be there in two weeks time. You will be the one who slows us down. And the faster you are we faster we will be there." Kaylen nodded. All of them jogged at a steady pace. The target was the desert. They descend the slope from the peak of the mountain and into the desert. "Can you go faster?" Asked Alica, Kaylen nodded. They picked up the pace to a running. Kaylen didn''t feel exhausted. She ran faster until her running skill couldn''t give more speed. She had 13 levels left to hit 100. Everyone else was able to keep up with her. No, not even close, she was the only one who was running, the others were jumping on the dry ground. And they had the same speed as her. Even ''Fifty'' was doing the jumping thing. "If we keep it up, we will be there in less than a week." Said Alica. "What is the max speed that you can run?" Alica grinned and used her full power. It was like she was teleporting from one place to another. If the earth dragon was fast, Alica was even faster. At a max speed of 1500km/h. She did a couple of circles around them and stopped at the front of the group. "Although I can go this fast, my mana is draining very fast to be able to keep that speed. I use a barrier to protect me from the air and a wind spell to accelerate me to those kinds of speeds. But if I have to run from something, this is the best method that I have." Kaylen didn''t say anything, but she looked at her.
Alica Avyrilth, ??? , Wood Elf-??? , Level 1672.
''That''s new.'' Kaylen though, but didn''t give much thought to it. It was just missing information of her part. Alica was neither a queen and neither and human-elf hybrid, but something else. They ran for 7 hours later, her running skills had hit level 100, and the same for athletics.
Running has hit max level. New skill: Wind running have generated. Athletics has hit max level. New skill: Muscle Empowerment have generated.
She felt like a spell was cast on her feet to make her run faster. And her muscle felt like they had changed from a biological form to carbon fiber. But that was what she felt, in reality, nothing had changed. As for her new wind running. It was like a spell, but it used stamina as a fuel. Her speed had just doubled from before. She didn''t feel the wind hitting her face anymore, not even the air resistance. She passed Alica and kept going forward. Alica laughed and picked up her pace too.Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon. "We are going to get there in less than three days if you can keep it up!" She looked happy for some reason. An hour later, they had their first enemy to fight, a scorpion that was 50 times larger than a normal, and it had two tails rather than one.
Desert King Scorpion. The king of all desert animals, Level 2354.
"Kaylen, you stay back, this isn''t going to be an easy fight," Alica said, with a tint of panic in her voice. "This shouldn''t have existed. It''s even stronger than a fucking dragon. Everyone disperses, this will be a hit and run fight and don''t get hit by the tails!" Alica shouted to everyone. The demons followed the command and Kaylen run on the back. The scorpion didn''t let them move as the liked. It teleported in front of Alica and used it''s pincers to cut the head of Alica. Alica used a spell to dodge the pincers. With a flash of light, she was teleported away from her position and behind the monster. The pincers hit the air. Alice used a spell that bound the scorpion in place. The demons used ever spell they had on their kit. It was like a show of fireworks. But there was no visible damage done to the monster exoskeleton. It looked more annoyed than anything else. It shook its powerful body to break the bind, and with a second it attacked Alica again. Kaylen didn''t know what to do, she kept looking at the monster, but she found nothing she could do, it was even moving faster than Alica. But something was hitting her mind from the back. Not literally, but mentally. She thought for a second and the thing that she had placed on the back of her mind was the Legendary language pack from the Karma system. It even had the language of the ants in it. She was even using it to speak and read. But what never crossed her mind was that it had the monster languages too. Well, technically she knew they were there but she hadn''t analyzed the data. But now it was time to do that and create a telepathy spell. Well, the scorpion was trying to do that thing in the first place. But it was attacked for no reason.
Desert King Scorpion is trying to communicate with you.
"What do you mean you want to communicate with me !?" She shouted loudly. Everyone stopped, even the scorpion, and all of them looked at her. "Finally someone spoke with me!" Though the scorpion inside her head. "You are in my head!" Kaylen shouted again, but this time it was aimed at the scorpion. "Yes, it was only you that could understand me." "What do you mean, I was the only one that could understand you?" "Yo, Kaylen what the fuck are you saying?" Shouted Alica. "I''m speaking to the scorpion. What can you not understand me?" She looked confused at Alica, while Alica looked confused at her. "No, you were speaking like you a mouth full of sand. Whatever, you sound it not human." "Aha." "Well, it''s good to speak with someone. I have slept for a thousand years, but no one had survived the desert, not even my kind, that''s why I came to the surface when I felt vibrations on the ground." "It said that it had slept for a thousand years and none of his kind to have survived in the desert, that''s why it came up," Kaylen said to Alica. "Ask it why it attacked!" "Because you were shouting, and he got scared." "How a monster can be scared? Never mind, ask it if it can let us pass." "He said yes, but only if we stay with ''him'' for some time. He is lonely he said." All the demons and Alica grouped together at the front of the scorpion. Kaylen was doing all the translating things. They stayed like this for an hour before the scorpion said something really interesting. "There are some old building that I have found under the desert floor. When I went to sleep, I randomly dug to one of the roofs of the building. You better come, and check them out. I found it fascinating when I found them." "He said to follow him to some buildings that are underground, and he said the buildings were fascinating." "And why should we follow him? I mean, he is a monster, and he probably wants to eat us." Said Alica. Kaylen said the same thing to the scorpion. And he understood. "He said, we don''t have to believe him, but we can trust him." "Well, trust is something a monster does not have you know. He will kill us when he will show us what he wants." Alica said. Kaylen said the same thing to the scorpion, and the later did something really interesting. He slipt some of his blood to Kaylens head. It started to evaporate after it hit her. Everyone looked at her with shooked of there face.
Desert King Scorpion (Level 2354) has volunteered to become your soul pet. Y/N
"I accept you to become my soul pet." And with a flash of light, the scorpion disappear and went inside Kaylen soul.
The Desert King Scorpion wants to come out. Y/N
''Yes.'' And the scorpion appeared again. "You know that you have the highest luck of us all?" Said Alica. "To have a soul pet this strong and willing to do that. It''s my first time seeing something like this. Tell me what have you done to get this lucky?" Alica was now depressed, she had tried to make a lower-level monster to be her pets, but none of them had accepted, not even a mouse would accept her. "And you know what else? The soul pet can give you the essence by killing things. And you can get as strong as me in less than a year. While I had to fight for my life for years. Well, my demons had to fight, but that''s not the point. You better keep him safe. If he dies, he will be dead forever." Kaylen nodded and spoke to the scorpion again. This time all of the followed him without questions to the hole he had made to come up. Chapter 11 They went down the hole, and into a dark abyss. The scorpion could see, but all the others had to use a source of light to see in front of them. The kept moving until the scorpion spoke to Kaylen. "We are close to the building that I came from," Kaylen told to the others that they were close. A few minutes later, there was in an expanded space. They couldn''t see walls or anything except the ground. They moved deeper. However, that wasn''t the best chose. Monsters spawned everywhere around them. The other thing was that they weren''t in a dungeon. The new monsters that they couldn''t see but hear ware just a safety mechanism of the building. The new monster hadn''t attacked the scorpion that slept for years here, because monsters weren''t going to take anything from the building, but people like Kaylen and Alica could. The first monster they saw was small like an animal that looked like a dog, but it was more like a zombie. It had four legs, two eyes, no ears, no tail and the stomach area had no meat keeping the organs inside. They could see the organs moving inside while the animal moved.
Racuhas, undead demon, level 30.
"I know what are those, the called Racuhas from the demon realm. They are the most disgusting animal the had ever existed in our realm. The only thing with those is they are undead." Said the demon with the number 32. "And why do you even know they are from our realm? I haven''t seen something like this." Asked ''One'', but she knew what the answer was going to be. "Well, I wanted to f.." "Yea, we got it." ''One'' stopped her. "Do we kill them?" Asked Kaylen, Alica nodded, and used her mana and started burning everything in front of her. The scorpion did the same, and all the others followed. It didn''t take long before everything was dead. They had killed 500 of them with magic and with scorpion together. After that, there was quietness, like before. They moved around the building. It took at least an hour for them to find a clue of what was going around. One of the demons had found some symbols as she called them. It was an alien language that no one had ever seen before. But Kaylen could read them. It was the language of the dragons. The symbols that they found said, ''to thee that wish to pass, a sacrifice has to be made.'' "Are you sure this is what it says Kaylen. How do you even know how to read them in the first place?" Asked Alica, she was looking suspiciously at Kaylen. "I don''t know, I just do?" While the conversion was going between them. A jar with nothing in it came from the floor, and the ground kept on going up until it was at a height of one meter. It was a jar that could be able to contain ten litters of any substance. "And now what do we do?" Asked ''One'', while she looked around. But before Alica could answer, a ticking noise was heard from everywhere. By every second, the ticking was going faster and faster, The base of the jar was getting higher and higher. The walls around them were closing in. To thee that wish to pass a sacrifice has to be made. A voice was heard between the tickings. A booming voice said. It had used the draconic language. "Kaylen, what did it say?" "It said the same thing that I told you." "Let''s go back to the hole that we came from." Said one of the demons. A few seconds later, the same demon spoke. "Never mind. The hole has been completely closed off. The walls shield it." "Shit, what are we going to do? Why is it a jar? Does it want ut to use our blood or something like that?" Said Alica, while stomping her foot on the ground. She was mad, mad with Kaylen and the scorpion. But all of them were now in this hell hole, and she had no one to blame but herself. "Let give it the copses of the Racuhas that we killed first." Said Kaylen. Some of the demons ran and picked the copies that her on the ground whole. "Now what?" Asked one of them. "Then force them in the jar." Add Kaylen. They executed the plan. They forced the corpses inside the jar. When the bodies were in, they turned to liquid. The booming voice spoke after the had filled the jar fully. "A clever chose has been made. A reward has spawned in the next room. There is a reward for all of you."
Dragon Trials Room 1 was cleared. 49 left.
They all went to the next room. It was the same big room, but this time it had light everywhere. 53 bottles with a red liquid were at the center of the building. They had the names of every person here. Everyone went and picked the bottle with their name. Kaylen used the system to see what was inside.
The essence of 50, level 50 monsters is inside the bottle. Stolen story; please report. How to use: Drink it.
She drunk the solution, and she saw she had gain exp for her level. She was now level 24. She used all the 3,3 points on her luck. Everyone else had drunk the solution. They went to the next door with a new puzzle. It read ''an extra person has come here with you, where is he/she? Found him/her, and a reward will be at the next door.'' Kaylen told the message that it was carved on the wall, and looked at all of them. Everyone looked at each other, searching for the new person. Everyone counted every head they were able to see, they were 53. But Kaylen''s skill picked the 54 people. He/she was on the roof of the room. Because the light was not strong enough to hit the roof, they hadn''t seen the new person that was in here. The booming voice spoke. "A new record has been made. One of you has found the extra person. An additional reward has been awarded to the person that found the extra one." Everyone looked at Kaylen but they didn''t say anything. The rewards were gloves and a ring.
Dragon skinned gloves. Durability 500/500 Extra: 10% extra damage. Be it magic or physical. Ring of Mana. Durability 300/300 Extra: Everything that has to do with mana regen is now 300% more efficient.
Kaylen was happy that she got both of those, the extra damage was a nice bonus, but the ring was a whole other story. She could be able to use finally the spell Basic Body empowerment. She felt happy with everything. After everyone had taken their rewards, monsters spawned all around them. It was the same monster as before, but it wasn''t undead this time, and they were 40 level each. The voice spoke. "Survive for 15 minutes." That challenge was a piece of cake for the demons, Alica, and the scorpion. The number of the monsters was always double of theirs. The 15 minutes passed fast. And when the time was over, the new room door was opened. This time Kaylen didn''t have a reward because she didn''t do a thing. But at least she had got exp from the kills the scorpion had done. She was now level 28, and she used every point on luck again. The next room was a maze. "You have to find the next door." The maze walls were all the way to the room''s roof. "There is no time limit. There is an easy way out of here, we will follow the left wall. Until we get out of here." Said Alica, everyone went ahead with the plane. 10 hours later, they were at the door. They were lucky because no monsters have been spawned on the maze.
Dragon Trials Room 4 was cleared. 46 left.
This time there was no reward because they had taken 13 hours to finish the maze. The next room had a circle on the center that had a diameter of 10 meters. Inside the circle was a shadow with red eyes. It was laughing too. "Find what is inside the shadow without going in the circle." That was a bizarre one. How can they find out what is inside the shadow while the light was everywhere? There shouldn''t be a shadow in the first place. The lighting in this room had the power to light up even the roof. "The key is the light." Said the shadow. Kaylen thought for a minute, the books she had read had said about light and how can be used. The thing that could help them here was probably holy magic. "Alica, can you use holy magic?" Asked Kaylen. Alica shook her head, indicating a no. "I control demons, holy light can harm them." "Then can you use dark magic?" This time she said yes. "Then use dark magic to feel the insides of the shadow. When you will able to do that, destroy the spell that creates the shadow." "It can''t be really that simple. I mean with my level I could do that easily." "Then do it, there is nothing to lose." Alica then focused her mana on the shadow''s body. She searched the outside first to see if there was anything unusual. When she found nothing, not even a pull of mana. She searched inside the shadow. That was harder than the previous, but she was able to succeed. She found the mana source and destroyed it by overloading the core with more mana. With a spectacular boom, the core was broken. Inside the shadow was a purple velvet. "You have finished the 5 first rooms, the next room is a safe zone, there will be food, drinks, and beds for you to sleep. Also, you can leave by going up to the door that says exit." Kaylen told them what it was on the next room and they could leave from there if they want. "We better leave, we don''t know if the next rooms will be harder or not, and I don''t want to risk it at all." Said Alica, Kaylen gave her a nod. The went to the next room and left from the exit door. Well, it was more like a teleport of the surface of the desert rather than an exit. Kaylen and Alica looked around, they both found the mountain that they had left from and the ran to the other direction, farther away from the mountain. It was night time and the desert was cool. If felt nice on the skin, but they had to run fast. They had lost too much time in the desert, and they didn''t want to get dehydrated. Although water magic could help them with that, no one had a spell that could create water. The next 3 days passed fast, and now they were at the front of a jungle. "We finally made it. This is where we will have to be careful, and if we pass without anyone get hurt, then we will be at the front of the elven city." Said Alica. And with that, they went into the jungle. Chapter 12 Kaylen and Alica had to unsummoned the demons and the soul pet before they were allowed to get into the city. Kaynel then followed around Alica. The elven city was far more technological advance than Reoburgh. They had far better technology than the humans. First thing was the roads. The road maintenance was in excellent condition, and it was flawless, with no edges on the stone floor, and was pure white without any hint of another color. The buildings were made mostly of granite and wood, but there were buildings constructed with different kinds of stones. Kaylen was amazed by the sheer amount of the different colors and the complexity. She liked it here. What else she found interesting was the elves themselves. There were elves with various skin colors. Like a painters pallet, they had a unique skin coloration. There were wood elves and all that kind of staff, but mostly it was a mix from all of them. "A little history for you Kaylen. This elven city was built to house all kinds of elves without discriminations. There were always fights going on with the different elf species. This city was a peace treaty from all the kings and royals. The start wasn''t easy, but we adapted and accepted each other virtuous, and believes. The city was able to be maintained its peace because some bolder elves mated with different elf species than their own, and that had made the first stepping stone for what the city is today. A city where every kind of elf can leave peacefully and without problems." "That explains why your people have so many different skin colors. I kind of like how the city has been build and how smooth the roads feel. It is nice here." "Yea it was until the human tried to force their ways on our population. However, when the saw that their ways weren''t accepted by the elves, the used intimidation, and enslavement on us. And now, we are at war with them. The humans have tendencies on enslaving people, and most beings don''t do that. But they have their brains and a fast reproduction system that keeps them on the food chain for now. Now you will ask me why we haven''t attack yet, that''s because the sentient beats don''t want to have more conflicts with the humans. They are mostly brutes people, but you can find patient and clever ones. But as of now, the elves and the beast-mans haven''t reached an agreement on what to do as of now. But we keep on trying. They want the same thing that we want but their number as far lower than ours to support a war." "I understand. And what will your people do if they find that I''m a human? I don''t think it will be pleasant." "You are right on that, that''s why we are going to the palace. The kind and the queen will judge you. They will want to know if you will be a threat or anything like that. But I''m certain that they will let you stay in our beautiful city." "How can you be so sure?" "Because you tried helping me with the assassinations of the nobles, that''s why I am sure they will let you. And second, I''m their daughter. They will hear what I have to say, and that will boost your image to them." "I appreciate your kindness to help me, but will your image ger destroyed but what you will do? I mean, you are helping someone that is your enemy, that''s kind of bad." "I don''t think they will care that much, if not at all, because we can make blood oaths or magic contracts to keep you from doing anything bad. All the elves here know how to make a basic contract. And you see over there, those are human that work here. They agreed that controlling other species for their profits was evil and wrong and wanted to show the elves and other species that not everyone''s the same and have the same beliefs. And over here are the beast-man people. Something else I want to add up if you ever move alone on the streets you should always be respectful. You will understand when you speak to someone else. Well, you just have to speak like you do with me. Just don''t ask stupid things. Now, let move faster. I''m dying from hunger." They ran the remaining distance. Now, in front of a gate with beautiful flowers, trees, and grass, they waited. Until someone came and opened the gate. It was the battler. He wore glasses, had a tan skin and beautiful black long hair. He gave a little bow and said. The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement. "Miss Alica is nice to see you again. Did the missions go as planted are were there problems? And hello to you too lady." And he gave a small bow to Kaylen too. Alica then spoke. "Nice to see you too, Molonym. No, I failed. They suspected that I was one behind the attacks until here, lady Kaylen tried to help me. She did a great job, even though I didn''t warn her." "I see, miss Alica. Now let''s stop waiting here and let''s go inside. Your parents want to see you, but first, there will be a meal for you and your first friend." They moved inside. Kaylen was dumbfounded by what she saw. There were photorealistic paintings of a beautiful pair of elves. "Those paintings are the previous generations of the royal families. Those ones were the first generations of royals." She indicated to Kaylen an old painting with a pair of old elves. "The selection of the royals and who should be the king and queen was and is a complicated series of things. So don''t ask about that. Let''s not make my parents wait anymore." "Miss Alica, don''t you want to eat first?" "I want to speak with my parents first to see what they will do with Kaylen, and then I will come. " "As you wish miss Alica. Lady Kaylen do you prefer anything to eat?" Kaylen shook her head. Molonym gave a bow and left. Five minutes later, they were looking at a pair of elves. They looked powerful. The man had a level of 3210 and the woman had 3120. But there was a gentle aura around them. Kaylen didn''t feel threaten or scared. "So, my daughter, how did it go?" Asked the king, with gentleness on his voice. "Not so great father, the people around the emperor were getting suspicious of me, but lady Kaylen here helped me with my plans of escape." She said in the same voice as the king. "Ahh, I was expecting to be a failure. I should have left you to do your things rather than waste four years of your time. I''m sorry Alica." He was sad about what he had done to her daughter. But he couldn''t change much for now. "Don''t worry father, I met a great friend here. Although we had a scary adventure while we were traveling to here, nothing bad happened to us." "I see, I see. And you probably want to let your new friend here to be a part of our city right?" "Yes, father." "Renna looks like our daughter finally found a friend. She was always played with the demons, but now she has a friend." He said with a playful voice to his wife. Renna studied Kaylen from head to bottom and then nodded. "She looks good, and she has some power in her. Although she is a bit old, she will be able to catch up to our little daughter. A trusted right hand who is a friend too is worth it. Even if she is human." She said a stern voice. But there was a glimpse of happiness in her eyes. Although she was able to hide it from all of them. "Come on Renna. Why always like that? That''s why we can''t have fun. You never try to relax for a bit. I am telling you again that if you keep going like that, you will exhaust yourself." "Come on darling, you know if I am not serious, but things tend to happen. Like when we broke the window in our bedroom, and you were close to falling off." She gave a little giggle and then turned to look at Kaylen and Alica. "Let''s make the blood oath tomorrow morning. Alica please be with her for today, go it something and get a bath. You stink sweat." "Sure thing mother, take care. And be careful with the windows." They both gave a little bow and left. "So darling, what do you think about the new girl?" "Alica got her first ever friend and I believe that she will try to cherish her. So for her being the ''right'' hand for Alica isn''t a bad thing to ask." "So you agree with what I said?" "But of course." He gave her a small and kissed her. Renna giggled and then grabbed his ass. ..... "I''m sorry for my parents, they always were like that. So please don''t judge them. They are kind people and always wanted the best for the city." "Don''t worry, I thought your parents were cool." Kaylen gave a smile to Alica. And Alica did the same. "Come let''s go and eat first." She gripped Kaylen''s hand and ran around the building until they were at the cooks'' room. "The food is ready to be served, miss Alica." Said the battler. "Yes, please." Maids placed the food on the table and the utensils. Everyone gave a bow and left except the battler. The were many kinds of cheese, bread, meat, salads, and mashed potatoes. They ate everything that was on the table. And then they went to take a bath. "Do you know how to use the bathroom?" Asked Alica. "No." "Okay then, we can take one together if you want." Kaylen gave her a nodded. "Follow me, let''s go to the bathroom." When they were finally in the bathroom. Kaylen saw how the bath looked like. The bath was like a communal Japanese bath-house. They removed their clothes and went to the read hot water. "You really did have a d*ck down there. Should be fun to have one right?" Smirked Alica. "I never used it." "Really? Do you want to use it?" "Why should I?" "Ha? You don''t know what is this for?" "I know, but why should I use it?" "I give up. Let''s just enjoy our bath. The last three days were really hard on my body." "I agree" With that, both of them stopped speaking and stayed hours in the warm water. When they finally said that it was enough. They went to get clothed. Someone had already left them a new set of clothes. They wore them and Alica saw to Kaylen her she will be staying. .... Chapter 13 Kaylen slept for 2 hours, after that, she didn''t know what to do. She thought for a minute, and a thing came to her mind. She had the new ring that could make her skills for mana regeneration three times more powerful. That meant she could use the body Basic Body empowerment with the help of the two spells for mana regen. She forced six mana to the Spell Accelerated mana regeneration and made her mana regeneration to 30 mana regen. And she did the same for the Spell Efficient Accelerated mana regeneration. She forced six mana again, and the spell gave her back 30 mana. Now she had 60 mana regeneration per second, but there was a downside on this, she was losing stamina every second. It was probably too much for her to use both spells at max mana. But, she kept using them. She then used the Basic Body empowerment spell. When the spell was in full force, she felt powerful. All physical stats double the performance. It was the best feeling ever. The runes on her skin dissipated after the two seconds of her using the skill. She had only a blue halo around her from the mana moving in her at a fast pace. Her veins were emitting a light blue color. She used the spells like that for five more hours until a maid came and knocked on the door. "Lady Kaylen. Wake up, the blood oath you have to participate will begin in ten minutes. Please be ready before the time runs out. The clothes you wore yesterday are on the front on the bed. I will wait here, and when you finish clothing, I will bring you to the room where the blood oath will take place." Kaylen wore her clothes and checked them out. She wanted to know if they were her clothes, after a couple of tried they were her clothes. She left the bedroom and followed the maid. She followed the maid to an underground room. Alica, Renna and the king were all there. The maid gave a bow and left. "Now, let''s get started." Said Renna. She removed a knife from her boots and hut Alica on her palm. She then did the same to Kaylen. "Now, put both of your bleeding hand close to each other without touching each other. And I will make the contract." Both Kaylen and Alica moved their hands close to each other. Renna used a paper under their hands. On the paper was drawn a pentagram. When the first drop of blood hit the paper the pentagram lightened up and absorbed it. Then Renna asked both of them to touch the paper. Then Alica said the same thing that she had said when she had made the contract with Kaylen. But this time she added that Kaylen should never try to harm another elf, expect if it is for self-defense, and to never give out pieces of information to outsiders on what the elves are doing. "And we are done. That was all, good job to both of you." Said the king. "Now, let go and eat breakfast." And he was the first to leave the room. Renna the followed. "That was all?" Asked Kaylen. "Yeap, that was all. Why do you ask? DId you expect something different?" She said with a smirk on her face. "Yea, maybe something more complex or sinister. And why we were only me and you that made the blood oath. What will happen if I break it?" "It based on how the spell was created. What my mother made was a spell that will remove all your memories of elves if you ever break it. And as to why I was the ones who made the blood oath with you was because I wanted to be the one who could take responsibility if something happened to you or made a mistake. If I had left my parents to do it, then the rules could have been harsher. And I didn''t want that. Did that answer your question?" "Yea." "Okay then. Let''s go and eat breakfast!" After they finished eating breakfast. Alica took Kaylen outside the palace to the roads of the city. Alica explained every building to Kaylen. What the blacksmith''s shops looked like, general goods, tailors, enchanters, mages and many more. And the last thing Alica showed to Kaylen was the library. "But you can''t just join the library as of yet. You first have to join an academy or be an apprentice to a mage. Then you will be able to join the library." Said Alica. This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. "And what do suggest?" "I suggest you to joining the Academy that we have here in the city. I''m going there too, but I had to stop for some time for the mission that my parent wanted me to take. Come I will show you where the academy is. We have to follow the biggest road in the city. We could have gone from the palace to the academy from the start but where is the fun on that?" They followed the road for a few minutes. Alica explained more thing to Kaylen. Kaylen was looking at things with a smile on her face. Knowledge made her happy, and new things even more. When they were finally at the gate of the academy, the guards that they were at the front asked them for the pass. Alica took a two centimeters thick green ticket from her pocket that had her name, age, and classes printed on it with black color. It had a painting of the academy building and the year that the pass was made. The guards looked at it and the let her pass. They checked everyone, no matter what title they had. But Kaylen didn''t have a ticket like Alica. "She is here to join the academy." Said Alica. One of the guards asked Kaylen to follow him, Alica followed too. As for the other guard, he stayed where he was. Finally, the guard stopped at the front of a door that had a name printed on it. "Alvaerele Sarna" was what was written with a golden color on the door. The academy had stone walls and wooden doors. The Guard knock on the door three times and left. "Come on in you two." A female voice from behind the door. Alica then opened the door and Kaylen followed. There was a woman behind the desk. She had green eyes and hair, a beautiful face. She wore green clothes too. "What can I do for you today?" She asked. "Kaylen wants to join the academy." "Okay." She then picked a rob that was behind her and placed it on the desk. "Place your hand on the orb." Kaylen placed her hand on the orb. When her hand was on the orb, she felt an energy going from the orb to her hand, to her head. The orb changed many colors while the energy was inside her. When the energy was done doing its thing, the orbs color was white. "Okay, that means she has an affinity for most affinities. That''s good." Said Alvaerele. "Now, I want you to fill those." She picked a registration form from one of the desk drawers and placed it in front of Kaylen. When she was done, she gave it back. Alvaerele gave it a look and nodded. "Come here tomorrow to get your pass. And we will see what classes you will register tomorrow. We are done. You may leave." And she went back to reading the papers she had on the desk. After the left the academy, Alica stopped Kaylen and asked her. "Really, how did you make the orb go white? It was the second time that I saw something like this. Only the headmaster was able to do that." "I didn''t do anything. I just felt an energy going from inside my hand to my head and that was all. I didn''t do something else." "Okay, I will believe you for now. Let''s go back to the palace, and train a little bit." "Train on what?" "Magic of course, what else?" "Martial arts?" "Martial arts are a bit harder to train than mana, and most people chose to go with magic. So martial arts haven''t developed much in this city." "Okay, let go and train." Finally, at the palace, they eat lunch and went to the backyard of the palace. It was a big open place with some equipment on the sides. "Here we will train whenever we are done with the classes. Now, tell me what you know about magic." Kaylen explained to her what she had read from the books. "Okay, you know magic better than I do. So tell me why are you so weak?" Kaylen shook her shoulders. She had a clue as to why she was so weak, but she hadn''t give it much thought. "I will tell you why you are probably weak and with this low mana reserves. That is because you had never cultivated mana." Alica said with a smug face. She was happy that she knew something that Kaylen didn''t. "I see, and how do I do that?" Asked Kaylen. "Here, I will so you." And with that, both of them started training until the moon came up. Chapter 14 Late at night, Alica was still trying to make the meditation skill to work on Kaylen. They had tried all afternoon to make it work, but nothing was happening. The skill that Alica wanted to teach Kaylen was an insignificant mana cultivation skill. But nothing was working. Alica had tried to teach Kaylen different kinds of mana cultivation skills, but nothing had worked. "Fuck it! I will teach you the essence cultivation skill and let''s hope this time it will work." Kaylen could hear the tiredness on Alica''s voice. Alica then explained how the skill worked and that is was far slower than the mana cultivation. The essence cultivation increased all the stats at the same time, and that was why it was slower. And that was the downside of the skill, and why most people focused on mana. Although they were some crazy martial artists that were obsessed with essence cultivation. When Alica finished explaining how the cultivation worked, Kaylen executed the skill.
Useless Essence Cultivation. Every full 60 seconds you gain 10 level exp. Every level on this skill lowers the time between the exp.
"I learned it." Alica let out a tired sigh and said. "That''s good, now let''s go and take a bath and after that sleep." They did their thing and went to sleep. An hour later Kaylen was awake. She used her skill like the previous day until the sun was up. The Basic Body empowerment skill now 96 level, 4 more levels and she could get a better one. Alica came to her room and both left to the Academy without a name. They passed the guards and went to the office with the ''everything green lady''. "Good morning," Alvaerele said. "You came here to get the pass correct?" She said while she was reading something on a paper. "You came at the right time. The pass was made just a few minutes ago." She picked the pass and gave it to Kaylen. "The classes for Kaylen will start on the first day of the new year. I have put her on all magic classes and some of the physicals ones." They left the Academy, and roam the city. "When will the new year start?" Asked Kaylen. Alica was confused. "You don''t even know that?" Sigh. "It will start in sixty-two days from now." She paused for a few seconds and then she said. "Come, I want to show you my favorite shop. It a magic shop with many things, but the most sold things are the magic staffs and trinkets." After a few minutes of walking. They were on the front of a dark blue building. The building had a sign saying ''Marinth''s magic things'' and a picture of a fairy holding trinkets. On the displays, there were the most expensive things you could buy. Staff, trinkets, magic papers, spell books, magic cyclopedias, biographic of mages, plants, pills, drugs, spell scrolls, amulets, rings, bracelet and more were on the windowed displays. Kaylen was instantly attracted by all the different kinds of books that the shop was selling. A small bell made some noise when Alica opened the door. The owner came running from the other room that was at the back of the table he used to make the trades. "Princesse Alica, it''s nice to see you again to my shop." He gave a bow and added. "You give me prestige every time you come here. And more and more mages come here. I''m really thankful for choosing my shop for your magic things." And he again gave a bow. "Now, what can I help those two beautiful ladies today?" He has a down-to-earth man, and never let the honor that he gained from Alica to get on his head. Although he liked the money that came his way, he never let that affect his research on magic and magic items. "Hmm, do you have any new item?" Asked Alica. Kaylen was looking at all the things that the shop was selling. "Yes, of course, I have a new thing. Let me show you." He went to the other side of the shop and pointed at a staff that was high up on the wall. "This staff here, I made it yesterday. I infused it with a magic core of a high mana monster." "And what''s the effect of the staff?" "It doubles the firepower of every spell you cast. It one of my best staff I have made!" "And why is it not at the front?" "Because it''s ugly as you can see. No noble wants to use something that is ugly. "Who could go around with a black stick and say it can double the firepower of every spell. Of course no one." "Kaylen, let that thing down, and come here!" Kaylen put down a trinket that looked like a bomb to most people and went to Alica. "What do you say? Do you want this staff or something else?" "And why do I need a staff?" Kaylen said, and she went closer to the stick. Although it was high up on the wall, she was able to detect the carved runes of the stick. "Well, you have nothing except the ring and the gloves. You need more firepower than that, so I thought the staff could be a good start." "Okay." Kaylen then tried to use the system to observe the item.
Stick Infused with a level 352 monster core. Runes efficiency for ''power'' at 25%. Enchanted the power of spells by 88%. Durability 352/352
"And who is going to pay for it?" Asked Kaylen. "Of course it will be me. It''s not that expensive, it''s only 176 gold coins."Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions. "Okay then, let''s buy it." The owner of the shop was happy with what he heard. They did the trade, and now Kaylen had a black stick. They went back to the palace to train. When they were in the backyard of the palace, Alica asked Kaylen. "So, are you happy with your new staff? It doesn''t look like much, but it can do the job just fine." "Yeap, I like it, and I want to try it right now!." "No, you won''t do it now. We will cultivate first and eat launch. After that, you can go and play with your new staff." And that what they did for the next two hours. Then a maid came to the backyard, and she told them to come to the table with the Queen and the King to eat. When that was done, they went back to the backyard, and Kaylen took the staff and used the two spells she had. Kaylen saw that the firepower had been improved when the spell was executed from the tip of the staff. The flamethrower had more heat output and distance, and the firebolt had higher velocity, bigger length and it could travel farther. "So, do you like it?" Asked Alica. Kaylen nodded with a smile. Not only did she liked it, but loved it, and she wanted to make something like this herself. She went ahead and asked Alica how could she make a staff like this or an item like this. "Well, that is a complicated process and needs many tries and errors before you can make a stick become a staff, and be able to sell it with high profit. I think, my father has some books that teach how to create magic items. Wait here!." That was the last thing she said before she ran to the palace. While Alica was searching for her father, Kaylen used her staff more and more. An hour later Alica came back with a tome and some wooden daggers. In that time Kaylen had leveled up her Firebolt spell to level 25. "Her, this is what my father gave me. It''s a tome with many techniques and styles of forging, infusing and more. Holy, this thing is heavy! It at least a 10 kilos book. With 1000 pages in it. So, if you want to learn how to make the magic things that you want, you better start reading this thing. You have 62 days before the academy classes start. Now, I will leave this here, and we will get back to training, but this time we going to play with knives." "Sweat, that''s my cup of tea." ''Whatever that means.'' Sain and though Kaylen. She was excited about both those things. Alica continued speaking. "A good mage should always have to know how to fight in close combat if he/she ever runs out of mana. And my style is daggers, well most mages use dagger because we are not physically fit, but mostly mentally. So, what else, I forgot what I was saying." She paused for a few seconds to think and then she spoke again. "Well, never mind that. As I was saying, if mages run out of mana and someone is close, they have to defend themselves, and that is why we use mostly daggers or knives. Now, before we start. Do you have any dagger techniques?" Kaylen shook her head. "Good them, I do not either. I do not wish to ever have to fight a close combat like that, but my parent forced me to do it. So, enough of that, get ready. We will fight only with daggers! Start!" With that, both ran close to each other and exchanged blows with each other. Alica attack first by aiming at the Kaylen''s face. It was an attack that was back up by full contracted muscles. Kaylen dodged the attack, and she felt the air pressure that was formed around the dagger hitting her cheek. While Alica was trying to retrieve the dagger close to her, Kaylen attacked with the same style that Alica did. She aimed at Alica''s face, and with the same motion, she forced Alica to dodge. They both continued to attack each other will full force. They aimed everywhere on the human body. But they were at a standstill. Alica was using the dagger far better than Kaylen was, but the latter had far better physical skills to compensate in the lack of skills. The exchange of continues blows put a huge pressure on the wooden dagger. The wooden daggers were everywhere, some were broken in half, others with just the blade part being destroyed and others handle being caved in so much that it was made impossible to grip. Maids had come to watch the fight that was going on. Even Molonym the battler had come to watch the fight. Later the Queen and the KIng did the same. Both Kaylen and Alica were full of sweat, they had kept on fighting for more than five hours. Alica was using her mana to restore stamina secretly. But she was that Kaylen could keep up with her just fine after so many hours. Both were looking at each other eyes, waiting for who was going to do the next attack. Kaylen stamina had regened back to max and so had Alicas, both again attack each other until the last daggers broke down. When that happened, both hit the ground with their faced planted on the backyards ground. "Impressive." Said Molonym, the Queen, and the King looked at him and the latter asked. "What do you mean? All I saw was a wooden dagger moving around! Those girls are crazy!" Said the King with a real surprised and happy tone. He had seen for the first time her daughter being focused so much on training. "It was that both of them were improving the techniques in real time, but what is more impressive than that was that both never stopped attacking each other even when their hands started to bleed. Look at their hands, that is dedication, my king. Both wanted to win over each other, but manage to get only a draw." Said Molonym. "You are the one who is training with Renna every day, so I understand from whom those words are coming from." Said the king. "That makes me happy, my king." He then spoke to the maids. "Now, if you can please, use healing magic on them and put them to bed. They will be sore for a couple of hours when they woke up. And I want at least one of you to check their rooms respectively every hour. Until they woke up." The maids moving around with finesse and harmony. They picked up the exhausted Kaylen and Alica and placed them on their beds. They changed their clothes and left them sleep. While the maids were doing their work, Renna asked the battler on his opinion of Kaylen. "I think, she will be a good partner for Alica. They can both worth together, one for close combat and the other with magic. They could be able to make a great combo together. The only thing they need is experience, and Kaylen needs more essence. In time, we will have a great force to deal with the human emperor." "I agree with everything you said, but I don''t like how my little baby is watching Kaylen." Said the king. "She has the look of love on her eyes, and it''s with another woman!" "Really? That was your problem? That Alica was finally found a friend, and maybe a lover. She is already 40 years old, what did you expect to happen Virion? I like how Alica has been developing in the last few days, and I don''t want you to say anything to Alica! Are we clear !?" Said Renna without a hint of playfulness or anything like that, but on full seriousness. She didn''t want to change how Alica felt, nor did she want to change the feeling that Alica she may have for Kaylen. "I know, I know. I just don''t want to lose my little child!" He said with tears in his eyes. Many thoughts of Alica leaving the city and his for someone else made him sad, but there was a feeling of happiness too in those thoughts, but he tried to force it down. "Come on, let''s go inside and let things go how they are supposed to go." And that was the last thing Renna said and left with Virion and Molonym. Chapter 15 Two hours later, Kaylen woke up. The maid that was keeping an eye on her left the bedroom and went to pick a glass of water and some food for Kaylen. After a few minutes, the maid came back with the food and water. When Kaylen tried to move her arms to pick the fork and eat, she felt her arm being sore and full of pain. She felt the pain and soreness came from all over her body. Kaylen liked what she saw, but the runic mind skill made her mad. Mad with herself, she now knew she shouldn''t have spent the Skill point like how she did. And she wasn''t going to use them like they were nothing. And she now had a target to focus on and a reason to cultivate. Although the system said it was useless to use the skill Essence Cultivation, she was going to use it anyways, evolve it and maybe use some of the skill points on later evolutions, but first, she had to evolve the Runic mind skill. She stopped thinking about and went ahead and used the skill for the next three hours. After that, she had to stop because a maid asked her to come for breakfast. When she was at the table, she was Alica. Alica wasn''t at her best self like she always was, she had a downcast face and black bags under her eyes. She nodded to Kaylen and returned to eating. Kaylen sat down and ate too. After they finished eating, Alica and Kaylen went to the backyard. "How did you manage to fight me until exhaustion?" Asked Alica, she was depressed because she couldn''t even make a small wound to Kaylen what so ever. "Because I copied what you did, and because I can predict the next attack that will follow. That was all that I did." Said Kaylen. It was the truth really; she hadn''t done something out of the ordinary, for her at least. If people knew what skills she had, they could go mad from envy. "You know, I even use my mana to keep on fighting, but you were still able to fight for some many hours." With every word she said, her face fell even more. Alica was severely depressed from what had happened. She had all her life cultivate her spells and mana, but she still lost to someone who was at least half of her age. However, what she didn''t though was that Kaylen didn''t have fifty demons that could do what she asked without question, and gain essence from what they killed. "So, I want to fight with you again, but please let me use more spells that can enchant my body to the fight if possible. I want to fight you in close combat with my full power. I want to gain as many experiences that I can." "I can do that If only I can use my body enhancement spell too." Alica gave her a node, and both readied their spells. Kaylen''s body enhancement spell gave her blue veins, and Alica changed her skin to a more brownish color, and her hands had flames that were dancing with the help of a wind spell. Her skin spell gave her a higher natural defense and better overall agility, and the flame and wind spell combo gave her better hand speed and strength. "Wait, we don''t have wooden daggers to use. Give me a second. I''m going to get them!" Said Alica. A minute later, she was back with at least fifty of those daggers. She had used a box to bring all of them to the backyard. Behind her were Renna and Molonym. "Don''t mind us. We just came to watch you too train and maybe give some pointers too." Said Renna and gave a smile to Kaylen. They were there to mostly watch over them. Renna just wanted to be sure that something like yesterday wasn''t going to happen again, and to be there is something went the wrong way. Because her daughter had told her that they were going to use spells. "So, let''s get ready." Said Alica, and used her spells like before, Kaylen did the same. Both had a dagger in their hands. "This time attack with full power, don''t hold back." Kaylen gave her a nod and attacked first. Alica wasn''t even able to see Kaylen move. She had managed to be in front of her face in a couple of steps that she couldn''t even perceive. Alica wasn''t ready for something like this. She didn''t even manage to dodge, nor did she manage to move the dagger to block. But Kaylen didn''t attack her. She just hit the wooden dagger with her own. Kaylen knew that if she attacked her with that kind of power she could have killed her with that attack, even if they were using wooden dagger without an edge. Alica had to let go of the dagger because of the power the attack had. "How is this even possible!" Screamed Alica, she had got one more blow to her ego with that attack. "How did you go from being a beginner to an expert in just a day? It isn''t even possible." Alica kept murmuring things. "Kaylen, this going to be sound stupid, but can I touch your muscle?" Asked Renna. Kaylen didn''t question her. She just gave her a nod. And that was all that Renna needed. Renna the gave some pats and squeezes to where Kaylen''s muscles were. "They seem firmer than a normal human body, and more compact. Molonym, come here and check her too, and tell me what do you believe." Molonym did what Renna had done and said. "You are right my Queen, she had indeed firmer muscles and more compact, you can''t even move them from their position while they are relaxed. She isn''t like every other human it seems. Maybe an evolved one? But that doesn''t explain how she got that good with the dagger and her strength." He gave a pause to think, and then added. "Maybe because of yesterday''s training, something inside her awoke and gave her better physical strength. There are stories of people become stronger in just a day, maybe that was something like that." "I think so too." Said Renna. Both of them were sure that something like that had happened to Kaylen, but they were actually out of mark. If they knew that Kaylen had stopped attacking because a skill from the system had warned her that her muscles were ready for evolution, they could have pulled their hair until they went bald. And she wasn''t going to correct them. In fact, she wasn''t going to tell them what she was. Better to keep some secrets from them, even if they were good people. "Alica, stop being a crybaby and use your brain." Said Renna. Alica looked at her confused and thought about what she should have considered before she started to cry her heart out. "Sigh, you are at a disadvantage fighting her in close combat. No matter what you do, she will always win. You have to fight her with your spells to win. You should always use what you are good at in a fight. And if just a spar makes you want to cry a river, you better stop pursuing strength and change to something simpler, like a farmer." Although it sounded harsh, it had some truth in it. Alica gave it a thought and said. "That''s true mother, but still if I can''t win someone half of my age in close combat I fear that I''m going to get killed by someone that has more experience." "Why are you so stupid my child? Why even let him get close to you if it''s a real fight a mage has far better potential in winning the fight rather than the close combat warrior. You have to think thing through first before you do things. And second, a mage never lets people come close to him/her, if that happens then the mage is a bad one, and let''s leave it at that. And third, you have the demons, why shouldn''t be scared by the folks who use weapons. Your demons can take care of them. Just use your brain, that''s all I''m asking you to do. Now, I will take my leave. Molonym, you come with me." Alica had a thoughtful look on her face. After some minutes of thinking, a smile was formed on her face. ''Mother is right, I was thinking all of this wrong. I do not need to be so harsh on myself because I lost to a close combat. I have my spells!'' And then she spoke to Kaylen. "I will ask Molonym to train you. As I''m incapable of doing that. He is the best in close combat, and I believe he will be the best teacher for you. He likes students that try their best when they train, and you are one of them. I just have to see if he has time to spare. Now, let''s go and eat some cool things from a bakery that is just down the street." They both left the backyard and went to a bakery that was a couple of minutes away from the palace. The place had a big line of people waiting for their turn. After a few more minutes, it was their turn. Alica picked something that looked like a loaf of bread that had inside it chocolate. She gave half of it to Kaylen and the ate it happily while the kept a small talk going. Alica had asked her how was she able to get this good with the dagger, and Kaylen just said that it came to her sleep after they had both dropped to the ground. She also said that she didn''t know that she had this kind of power, but that was a big fat lie. But it was better like this, better for people to not know what she is and what she can do. And then they went back to the palace. Chapter 16 palace, to her to the with the for magic items.took her two whole days for her to finish reading it. There were many written in it. It also had paintings of the people who had invented the Kaylen was fascinated by the tome. She wanted to try using one A maid was cleaning the bedroom when Kaylen finished reading the book. She then asked the maid to put the book to its original place. The maid then asked her to stay in the room, until she had cleaned it. After that, the maid tried to lift the book with the thousand pages. But she couldn''t, the book was at least a hundred kilos. The maid asked for some help from Kaylen, and then both left the room and went to the study room of the king. The maid knocked on the door a couple of times. After a few seconds, the kind told them to come in. The maid went in first, and Kaylen followed. "Hello, Kaylen! I haven''t seen you for some days now. How are you doing? What do you have there?" Said the king, his had bloodshot eyes from the lack of sleep. Papers were everywhere on his desk. Bookshelves were everywhere, with big and small books. "I was reading this book." She showed him the book and continued. "Alica gave it to me because I wanted to learn how to produce magic items. The details on the written in the book were extraordinary." Kaylen kept speaking about the book, and Virion listened attentively. He was happy to hear that someone had read a book. Virion liked reading books, and especially old ones. Kaylen kept speaking about the book for at least an hour. And Virion kept on listening. He even exchanged some points of view with her. Overall, it was a healthy conversation about a book that both liked. No hidden agendas, no secret stuff, just pure exchange of views. Most people could envy Kaylen for speaking with the king so casually. When they finished talking about the book, Virion asked her to put the book on one of the bookshelves. "You can come from here whenever you want. I will welcome you with open arms in my study room. And if you want to read more books, ask one of the maids. But now, I have work to do, and I already am an hour late. We will see each other again at the dinner." Said Virion and went back to his desk chair. Kaylen and the maid left the study room, and Kaylen asked her where to find Alica. The maid said that Alica was taking a bath. They went to the bathroom, and then the maid left. Kaylen opened the door and went inside. She found Alica reading a book while she was in the water. The book was floating above her head, while Alica was reading it. Kaylen unclothed herself and joined in. Alica looked at her but said nothing. "So, how was your day?" Ask Kaylen. "Not much, I didn''t have to do anything really, expect to help my father a little with his paperwork. There wasn''t something exciting to do while you were reading the book that I gave you. I hope you learned something from it." Said Alica, although she has a hint of sadness while she spoke. But she didn''t want to blame Kaylen for not having fun. Well, Kaylen had nothing to do with it. But Alica blamed her a little bit for leaving her alone for those couple of days. "The book was great. I learn a lot from it, but I have to try myself the teaching to see if the work like how the book said." Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road. "But of course you have to try them first and see and learn. Experience and repetitions are the keys to learning something. The books are there for guidance, and everything else is on the reader." This time, her voice had a hint of happiness, bot because she had finally spoken with Kaylen, but because she was teaching her something new. She liked that very much, and Kaylen, but the first a little more. As to why she genuinely loved , she didn''t know. The only thing she knew was that she liked to talk with Kaylen. They stayed in the bathroom for two more hours until they had to leave because the runes for the heating the water run out of mana. In those two hours, they hadn''t spoken much, but they were both happy to finally meet each other again and talk for some time. "So, I have talked with Molonym for the training, and he said he yes. You have to tell him just when you are ready to start. He always trains with my mother first thing in the morning. And in the afternoon he is mostly free." She gave a little pause to think what to say next and then said. "Nevermind, let''s go now and tell him that you are free. He will be happy to train you, I''m sure of it!" They went to the basement of the palace. Renna was there, reading a book, while she was in a lotus position on a green colored array on the stone floor. Molonym was there too, but he was feeding mana to the array. He was mentally exhausted, with sweat running from his forehead down to his chin, but he said nothing or showed any discomfort. Kaylen and Alica waited for half an hour for Renna to speak. "Okay Molonym, that is enough for today." And then she faced Kaylen and Alica. "So, what do you want here?" She asked with a smile on her face. "We want to ask if Molonym has some free time to train Kaylen with the dagger." Said Alica, from behind Renna, Molonym moved very fast on his feet when he heard that. "Yes, he has free time now. Molonym, can you train Kaylen with the dagger?" Renna asked him. Molonym nodded enthusiastically to Renna''s back. Then he faced palmed himself and said. "Yes, my queen. I have free time to train Kaylen on how to use the dagger." "Good, you can go to the backyard and train until dinner is ready," Renna said and left the basement. The three of them then went to the backyard of the palace. Alica had the book she has reading from before, and Molonym had a box full of wooden daggers in his hands. Molonym placed the box on the ground and threw a wooden dagger at Kaylen. He then said. "I want you to attack me with your full strength." Kaylen did just that. She attacked him with full power. The attack as fast, but Molonym was able to block it. "Good," Molonym said. "Keep attacking me. I will attack you when I see an opening on your movement." Kaylen kept on attacking until she got hit by Molonym to her hip, but he said nothing. Kaylen struck again, but this time she was ready for an attack from Molonym. Her skill Future Probabilities of Combat Projections wasn''t able to pick up when Molonym could attack. The signal it gave was like the static from an old tv, but it wasn''t unpleasant for Kaylen. They kept training until a maid told them to come and eat. They ate and then they all went to there bedroom, expect for Kaylen and Alica. "Okay, I will clear with you Kaylen. I didn''t like about how you didn''t speak to me for two days. And I would like for that to never happened again. It made me sad, although I know that you like to learn new things, that doesn''t mean that you don''t have to talk to me. I like when we are the two of us doing something, or being together. That''s what I wanted to tell you." And she stopped, she took a big breath, held the air for a few seconds and then she exhaled. "It felt like a weight leaving from my back. Hmm, that feels nice." "I''m sorry, I didn''t know that. It will never happen again, I promise. I was just too excited about the book, that was all, but again, I''m sorry." It was a genuine apology from Kaylens. Because of the wisdom stat, she now had some logic and feelings. And she felt regretful about that. She hadn''t expected something like that to happen. And she vowed to herself to never do that again, or make Alica sad. "It''s okay. I''m happy that we were able to clear this out. Hug attack!" She said and hoped to Kaylens arms. Both had a small on their faces. "Now let''s go to sleep. We will see each other tomorrow!" They both then left and went to their respected bedrooms. Spoiler: Stats gains for those 3 days. +0.10 in Strength +0.05 in Vitality +0.22 in Endurance +0.15 in Intelligence +0.00 in Mana +0.20 in Wisdom +0.01 in Luck +0.00 in Talent +0.03 in Charm She had also maxed her speed reading skill and dagger mastery. Chapter 17 Like always, Kaylen woke up at night. With only 50 minutes of sleep, she left okay. She did some stretches and started cultivating. But before she started doing that, she checked what new skills she had unlocked. She had maxed dagger mastery and speed reading.
Dagger Mastery is now level 100. Advance Dagger Mastery was unlocked. Advance Dagger Mastery is level 10. Speed reading is now level 100. Extreme speed reading was unlocked. Extreme speed reading is level 22.
She read the screen and went back to cultivating. Four hours into her cultivation, Kaylen heard her first ever thunderstrike. It was raining outside. But all the people inside the palace were sleeping, well, not moving much at least. Some of them had woken up and looked outside of the windows but went back to sleep. So Kaylen was able to understand that the sound that she heard wasn''t something threatening, but only if she didn''t touch it. Kaylen smiled and went back to her cultivation. Three and a half hours later, a maid, like always, came to her room and told her that the breakfast was ready. She checked her level and saw that she was now level 29. And she used her stats point to luck once again. It was the best chose because it accelerated the natural improvement of the stats. Although, she didn''t know by how much. At the table, Virion, Renna, and Alica were there eating. When Kaylen joined them, Alica spoke to her. "So, what do you want to do today? Although it''s raining outside, that doesn''t mean we can''t do something interesting. A walk around the city could have been a great idea, but it is raining. So, do you have anything interesting we should do?" She asked while pointing her fork to Kaylen. "Give me a second to think." Said Kaylen, she took some bites from her food and said. "Does the city have a research facility for magic and spells?" She asked Alica. "Maybe that could be interesting, or for me at least." Alica faced her father and said. "You now own me five gold coins!" She has a smile on her face, while her father was looking at Kaylen with a pleading look. Virion just wanted someone to speak about books, while Alica wanted to do something interesting. Renna was impassive. She just kept eating. "Now, to answer your question Kaylen. There is a research facility in the city. But to get in, we first have to get the approval of my father. We can''t just go in there. We need an invitation from a higher up, and that is my father. He is the one who funds the facility. Most of the nobles say that is a waste of money, but my father believes otherwise. But in the end, there was a pay off to all of this. The farmers'' production was skyrocketed, the facility had produced an orb array that could make the plants grow faster. The estimates the scientist have given was close to three times higher growth speed. But what we got was close to four times in growth speed. And that was twenty years ago. Although now, the research on this orb has slowed down, that doesn''t mean there aren''t any new break thoughts. The other breakthrough was with a mana weapon that the researchers had made. But that was made mostly for the people who didn''t have resources to train their mana levels. The latest thing they work on was, from what my father had said, an accelerated thinking spell. But there are problems to overcome." She stopped at that, and looked at her father with a look that said, ''you know what I need.'' While her father was like, ''you have my support,'' and he gave her a thumbs up. Renna had a smile on her face but still said nothing. "That''s sound like a plan then." Said Kaylen. "Can we go after we finish eating? Or we have to wait or something?" "Nah, we can go even now, but not all the scientists will be there. Most of them will be there in the afternoon. And there is a person that I want you to meet. She works at the magic research facility too. She will be here in an hour. She is my mother''s childhood friend. And she will come here to fix the array my mother used yesterday." "Okay, while we will wait for her to come, I will be training with Molonym. If that''s alright of course." Renna gave her a nod but said nothing. Molonym came running from god knows where to the table where they were eating. "Did someone said training?!" His face was screaming with happiness. "Kaylen was that you who said that?" Kaylen was taken aback by what just happened. But she gave him a nod. "How much time do we have for training?" "An hour max." Said Kaylen. "Good, eat fast and come to the backyard, we will train in the rain." And with that, he left. Kaylen finished her crepes with the fruits and went to the backyard. At the backyard, Molonym was waiting in the rain and with the wooden daggers. When he saw Kaylen and Alica, he spoke. "We will do the same as yesterday. You attack, and I will defend and attack when I see an opening." They did the same thing for about forty minutes, but they had to stop, the new person had come to fix the array. And Kaylen''s Advance Dagger mastery was now level 13. They went to the basement of the palace. Renna and another woman were there. The other woman was her back facing them. She had long black hair, blue eyes, she also had a beautiful face like all the elves, and she was as tall as Alica and Kaylen at 1 meter and 80 cm. She was making a new array while Renna was watching her. "The old array was worn out, that was why you weren''t gaining anything from the array. It had been broken for a long time from what I saw, to tell the truth, you were lucky that you didn''t die. Molonym did a great job by using his mana sporadically when you were using the array." The woman said and paused for a few seconds, then she added. "I will make you a new one, but this time it will be for what you wanted from the previous one plus what the previous one was supposed to do."This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author''s work. "And what was suppose to do the previous one?" Asked Alica. The woman looked for a second at Alica, and she turned back to her work. "It was only supposed to make the stamina recovery faster. But your mother tried to make it do other things too. But as you could expect, this wasn''t going to work. You can''t just make an array do other things from what it suppose to do. Renna, what other things did you want the array to do?" "Hmm, If I remember correctly. I had asked Molonym to make the array fix the wounds too. To simply put, I wanted to heal me too." "That was why the array got destroyed. You tried to make the array do something that wasn''t able to do." "So, Elora. What array are you going to make for me then?" "I will make it able to heal you faster and regain your stamina faster too. If you want something, you better say it now, before I write the runes on the stone." "Give me a few minutes, in the meantime, you can speak with my daughter and her new friend." "You know damn well that I can''t just speak with new people. I always make them feel awkward." "And you know damn well why they feel awkward when you speak with new people. Your knowledge is vast, and you tend to speak about topics that they don''t know anything about it." "And you that I can''t control it. I like to speak about different things every time I speak to someone." "Anyway. Just do something else while I think about what else I want from the array. Molonym, I want your input on this too." Elora moved closer to Alica and Kaylen, and she stayed there awkwardly, with her hands in her pant''s pockets and looking at the floor. Alica said to break the ice by introducing Kaylen to Elora. "Elora, this is Kaylen. Kaylen this is Elora Dorsalor, the head researcher of the facility that we will go in the afternoon. She was the one who did the most research in the plant growth orb. Although she says otherwise, most of the other researchers that work there say that she was the highest contributor. She also did a great deal of work for the mana weapon for the people with low mana. She was the one who made the runes work. She also has a vast knowledge of mostly everything. She is truly the best of the best." Alica kept bragging about Elora''s achievements to Kaylen. While Elora heard everything, a smile formed on her lips, but she tried to hide it. "You know Alica that I wasn''t the only one who did everything, other researchers did help too," Elora said. She wasn''t a shy person or an introvert, but she didn''t like when she made people uncomfortable. "Yea, yea, you didn''t do everything yourself, and that is true, but you did most of the researches, or at least took apart to most of them. Give me a paper which doesn''t have your name in it and then tell me that you didn''t help. Everyone likes you, but your brain always wants to learn something new. Why do I even speak to you like that, you already know everything about yourself, and you have double my age. By the way, Kaylen, whenever she says that she didn''t help with something or didn''t do much, don''t believe it. She probably gave the best ideas to the people she helped. She always tries to downplay her achievements by saying that she didn''t do much or something like that. Something else I want to say, Elora do you remember the book about how to make magic items?" Elora gave her a nod, and Alica spoke again. "Kaylen read it all of it in two fucking days. While for my father it took close to a month. They even had a deep conversation about the book too. Imagine my father being all happy, with smiles everywhere. He was like when you had read it too, with smiles. And to conclude all of this, I believe that you and Kaylen will make the best duo, and that is because both of you love new things. Although I would prefer Kaylen staying with me more, I can''t stop her." Elora looked at Kaylen and asked her. "Do you know any runes?" She asked Kaylen, and Kaylen gave her nod. "Do you know how to read and write runes?" Kaylen again gave her a nod. "Then can you show me the basic runes?" "I can''t show you because I have low mana levels, but I can write them down with a pen and a paper." Elora fumbled around a bit, and she retrieved a pen and a paper from somewhere. "Here, here. Write them down for me please!" Elora said enthusiastically. She truly wanted Kaylen to know the runes. Kaylen wrote down the 82 runes, and then she wrote the calligraphic forms of the said runes. "You even know the calligraphic forms of the basic runes. Why would you even want to know that? Nevermind that, you truly know all of them. That is insane for a normal person. Have you made a spell with those runes? And if yes, can you show me?" "Yes, I have made three spells with the runes. A flamethrower, a firebolt and an exchange of stamina to mana." "Then show me!" "You can''t do that in here. Go the backyard." Renna said, and when back to facing Molonym. They went to the backyard, and Kaylen showed them the spells she had made. Elora and Alica were able to see the two attack spells. As for the third spell, she showed it with the help of the flamethrower. And that was the start of a new friendship between all of them. Chapter 18 "To use more effectively your spells, you can make a single rune rather than running a bunch of basic runes." Said Elora. They were still in the backyard, playing with spells. "Can you write down the runes for the spells? I want to see how you made it." Kaylen gave her a nod, and Elora summoned a paper and a pen. And Kaylen wrote down the spells. When Kaylen completed writing the flamethrower spell, she gave it to Elora. Elora read it and then spoke. "I can understand how you went with this. You made six different clusters of runes, for six different things. The first group of runes is for the mana and what it should do. Essentially, you wrote what the spell should do. The second group is for the recoil of the spell. You didn''t want to fly around with this spell, but to flame something up. The third group is for the mana not be able to harm you. The fourth group is air resistance. You wanted for the spell to be able to be used with whatever air currents there were in the environment. The fifth group is for some extra speed on the jet. And Finally, the sixth group is for how the extra mana has to be applied. You essentially made a spell without a mana input limit. Was my deduction right?" Kaylen gave her a yes, and Elora continued. "And how much time did it took to make it work? By my estimations, it should have taken a week or so to create the spell. Is that right?" When Kaylen heard this, she didn''t want to speak at all. It had only taken a couple of seconds to create the spell because she had seen how it worked from One. "Well, I made it in a few seconds. It was in combat too." Both Alica and Elora looked at her without saying anything and with dead eyes. "What?" Kaylen said. "It was normal for me to think about that kind of spell and create it. I saw it a couple of times used by a demon." "Really?" Elora said, with an eyebrow higher than the other. "You designed it using runes and in combat? That I can''t believe it, it seems too far fetched. If you had said days, I could have probably believed you." She gave a little pause, to gather her thoughts and she added. "Anyway. Can you write down the other spells too?" "I can." Elora gave her more paper to Kaylen. A few minutes later, Kaylen had written down her spells. Elora studied the runes and then said. "The last spell will be quite useful, only if I can make it more efficient of course. And as a thank you, I will give you a spell of mine. It a simple accelerated thinking spell, and as the name implies, the spell will make you able to think faster. But there is a downside to it. It makes your brain output more heat. So you can''t use it endlessly." She then wrote the spell and gave it to Kaylen. "If you can learn it without writing the runes in the air, this spell will be quite useful to you, Kaylen." She had to use a lot of those magic papers to write the spell. They kept on talking for some time until Alica said to go back to the basement. When they were there, Renna and Molonym stopped talking and face the others. They had up their minds for what the array should be, but they wanted a little more time to make sure. In the meanwhile, the three girls went to the backyard yet again, but this time they said nothing. They just stayed there looking at the rain. Kaylen took the papers from her adventure badge and started reading them. More minutes passed, Kaylen was reading while Alica and Elora were chatting. A maid came to inform Elora that Renna and Molonym had finally made up their minds for what they wanted from the array. After the made told them that the Queen was ready, all of them went back to the basement. When they were there, Renna spoke. "What we need from the array is healing, faster stamina regeneration, fatigue removal, mental fatigue removal, and an auto charge mana battery. That''s all." "If that was all, why it took you so much time to think about everything?" Asked Elora confused. She genuinely didn''t know why people took so much time to think things up. But the difference between her and all the other was the higher intelligence stat. Although she couldn''t see a numerical value like Kaylen, she could understand to an extent as to why she could think things faster, but never gave it much attention. "It will take an hour at most to make the array, but I need a magic core to create the mana battery. And get me one with high quality, because of the things you need Renna, the array will need too much power." Elora said, and went to work. "How much energy does the core has to have to make the array power up?" Asked Renna. "Eleven energy to be safe, but if you find a higher one, take the higher one." "Molonym, go to the treasury and get me one magic core with twelve energy to be even safer." Molonym then ran from the basement to somewhere else. He even left wet shoe prints on the floor. A few seconds later he was back with a core in his hand. Kaylen took the chance and analyzed the orb with her system.
Magic core Level 1232.
And by this, Kaylen deduced that the scale of energy that Renna and Elora were referring to was equivalent to 100 levels per one unit of energy. Molonym then gave the core to Elora, and the latter started writing the runes on the floor faster. Everyone expects Renna watched Elora writing the runes with wonder, astonishment, and disbelief all at the same time. It was the first time they had seen an array build up from scratch and with that kind of speed. Her work was a piece of art with many complex runes, but that wasn''t all. They felt like this because Elora was on the brink of chaos, a single mistake, and everything could go wrong, while if she did everything right, the most complex array had ever existed could be built in front of their eyes. Even in Renna''s eyes could be seen some excitement. But all that energy came crashing down after Elora finished with the task. This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience. "That was easier from what I had expected, but oh well. With how much time I have spent with runes, that should have been faster." She said while she kept on looking at what she had just made. She then stretched her limbs and looked at the others. Everyone had a deadpan expression on their face. Elora was taken aback by what she saw and said. "What happened to you all? Is there something wrong with my array?" she had ; "It''s just that you created something extraordinary, but you play it off like it was nothing to brag about." Said Alica and all the others agreed with that Alica said by giving nods. "Anyway, Molonym it''s a good time to try the array and see if it works like intended." Said Renna. She retrieved a dagger from her boot and made a small cut on her forearm. She then went and sat on the array and molonym kneeled down and transferred mana to it. The wound on Renna''s forearm healed within seconds. Then Renna spoked. "It truly does work. I even feel refreshed mentally and physically." "Good to know it works. Now, I will take my leave." Said Elora and went to leave the basement, but she didn''t even have the time to make a single step closer to the exit because Renna''s spoke. "Where do you think you are going to my childhood friend? We have many things to talk about, but first, we are going to have lunch." Said Renna. "Fine, I will do what you say, Renna, for now at least." All of them had lunch together. After that, Kaylen and Alica were yet again alone with each other. "So. What do you have to say about Elora?" Asked Alica. "Nothing much to say. She is just like any other normal person I think." "So you believe she is normal?" "Yes." Alica shooked her head and sighed. "The thing is, she isn''t normal at all. She is the most, not normal person I have ever known." "Why do you say that? She seemed fine to me." "I will tell you why just give me a few seconds to put my thoughts in order." "She is the most clever person I have ever known, but I think I already told you that and all those kinds of researches she does. But another thing that I haven''t told you is that she can make magic items, she can design spells faster than anyone, come up with ideas in an instant, and like always, have an answer for everything. She is the strongest mage we have ever had. And she can control all affinities. That makes her the best asset of the city. Without her, we could have been probably dead. It because of her that the humans haven''t attacked us yet. She can wipe out thousands of soldiers with a couple of spells. And now, she has locked herself in the research facility, because the next human attack will be harder to fight. Long story short, you will have to train even more, and as for me, I will have my demons do the things I need." And with that Alica left to her bedroom. ''That was unexpected.'' Thought Kaylen.''That was unexpected.'' Kaylen thought. She hadn''t anticipated Alica to tell her to get stronger because humans were going to attack in the future and sincerely she hadn''t expected Alica to leave her alone just like that. And now she had to double the efforts on cultivating. Get more skills, and learn the new spell Elora gave her. That was the things in her mind that she had to do first. While she was thinking, Molonym was stalking her. He wanted to hone Kaylen''s alertness skills. With a wooden dagger in his hand, he attacked Kaylen from behind. Kaylen was still thinking about things, but she had to stop because of a skill that it hadn''t work for quite some time finally came back to life. She dodged by bending her spine forward ninety degrees. But she lost her footing because of the fast movement. "Good, good. You have it in you." Said Molonym. "Now, we have to train your dodging skills, but that will take some time, but it can become faster by hunting monsters that are a little bit stronger than you. Now come to the backyard and let''s train some more. I like how you attack with all you got every time." Both went to the backyard and trained for two hours. They had to stop because Alica and Elora had come to pick her up and go to the research facility. Spoiler: Stats gains and levels As of now, she is level 29. +0,02 Strength (13,71) +0,01 Vitality ?? "Does Kaylen have seen the academy grounds?" "Yes she had a little, but not all of it. She saw only the front door and a teacher. Why you ask?" Answered Alica. "You know the labyrinth that it''s on Academy''s grounds right? We are going to get inside the facility from there. We try to keep the building''s secret corridors, you know, secret." "Okay, I get that, but what does it have to do with Kaylen and the question you asked?" "Well, I asked because I don''t remember how to travel the labyrinth. The maze''s architecture is the same as the Academy''s. From the front door to the headmaster''s room. That''s the way, but I don''t remember it." "And why you asked Kaylen and not me?" "Because I know you never went to the headmaster''s room." "And how you know that I never visited the headmaster?" "Because I''m the fucking headmaster and I have never seen you visit me!" Alica stopped moving and looked at Elora with her mouth fully opened. She looked comical, full wide eyes and with an expression full of disbelieve. Kaylen moved her hand in front of Alica, but the latter never gave a response. "What happened to her? She looked like she is dead." Said Kaylen, while she shook Alica to left and right. "Let her be she will "come back to the living" in a couple of seconds." "What do you mean? Is she dead?" Asked Kaylen, while anxiety started hitting her body. " She is alive. She just thought I was only smart and she hadn''t expected me to be as good with students as I am with research. The is even in one of my classes, but she had never shown up. And before you ask, my classes most have to do with theories and runes, and not so much with practice. So most people never come, or they never select the subjects that I teach." "Aha, so she is going to be okay, that''s good news." Alica woke up from her stupor after the few seconds had passed, although she was still stunned by what she had heard. A few seconds later she spoke. "So, you are not only the head researcher of the reacher facility, but you are also the headmaster of the academy." "That''s right Alica. I am both." "Then why you never said anything to me whenever you came to the palace for a visit?" "Ask your mother for this. I never had a say to all of this. Your mother told me to never speak about that to you ever, but I don''t know why. So before you ask, the answer is I don''t know." "Okay, thanks for telling me at least that." They stopped talking after that for the rest of the walking. The guards at the front of the gate let them pass because of Elora having the privilege of an actual headmaster, and the girls didn''t have to saw their passes because of Elora. "Now, we go at the basement of the Academy, and from there to the facility. But first, let me get the blueprints of the academy." Said Elora. Alica and Kaylen were left standing at the front of the building, waiting for Elora to come back. A couple of minutes later, she was back with the schematics of the academy''s building. "So, we start from here." And she pointed at the first-floor entrance of the Academy on the schematic. "And we have to go all the way to my office." She then pointed to a room that was at the last schematic. There was one schematic for each of the five floors of the building and one more for the basement. "Let''s go to the basement first, and the tell you more from there." With a few minutes of walking and climbing downstairs, they were now in the basement. It was just a boxed floor with nothing in it, well not if you counted the coldness. That was the only thing the basement provided. But it was the best class that existed for those who wanted to learn how to use water and ice magic. "Now, we go at the end of the other side of the stairs. After that, I will feed mana to a hidden array, and some number will become visible on the wall. Then I will put the code for the door of the maze to open." "But why are we doing all of this? Kaylen has taken the blood oath for never revealing things that should be secret." Said Alica. Elora furrowed her eyebrows, and the murmured something inaudible. She sighed and spoke. "Why you didn''t tell me this from the start, we never had to do something like this. I could have teleported us from the palace to the research facility." "Well, you never asked about that or even anything about Kaylen. The only thing you asked was about spells and if she has seen the Academy grounds. I didn''t expect you wanted to know something else." "Anyway, let''s go to the facility by teleporting there. We will be there in just a second." A literary second later, Elora, Kaylen and Alica were at a different place. It was a small room with a carpet on the floor and an array on the roof. "The door will open in a few seconds. The array here works like a magnet. If a person or a thing attempts to teleport around the Academy, they will be forced teleport here. But it works only with great distance teleports. If on the other hand someone uses a flash or blink spells nothing will happen to them. That is because the barrier that protects the facility will stop them from coming in here, but for teleports, that''s a whole another story." After Elora finished her monolog, the door of the room opened. An aged old male elf was looking at them behind the open door. He had snow white hair and a long beard. The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. Support the author by reading it there. "Elora, is that you?" He asked with shaking voice. He wasn''t scared of them, but because of his old age that tends to happen. "Yes, grandmaster Marian. That''s me with my friends." Answered Elora. "That''s good to hear. I was expecting more of those nobles to come in here. But in the end, it was only you with your friends. Good, good. You are free to go inside now." "Thank you, grandmaster Marian for helping," Elora said and gave a bow. "I have told you to never bow to me, and I don''t need a thank you. I just did my job." The grandmaster Marian started walking away from the room. Elora and the other run close to him and the all together walked deeper into the facility. While they were walking Elora asked Marian. "So, grandmaster Marian what are you working on those days?" "I''m working on a spell to fix my voice, but as of now, I haven''t made any breakthroughs. I have tried to use healing spells, but they don''t seem to work at all." "But if healing doesn''t work that means there is something else, maybe an illness." "I have tried that too, but nothing. I start to believe it''s a curse. I even tried to use potions but nothing." "Or it could be because of his old age." Said Kaylen. All looked at her because they hadn''t expected her to speak at all. "Why are you saying that?" asked grandmaster Marian. "It''s because it tends to happen to old people like you. It''s a natural prosses for all being. Humanoids or not. Some people may have a higher pitched voice when they get older, and others may have a deeper voice. You happened to have an unusual one. It''s because of old age." "To get it straight, you tell me that I can''t do something about it?" He asked. "No, not nothing. You can do something about it. You will have to speak less, and you will have to take deep breaths. As for if this will go away, the answer is a no. It will never go away. That''s all I can do to help you for now. If I had some tools, I could be able to perform a vocal surgery and fix your problem." "Why could we use such prehistoric means to fix something that could be fixable with spells? If you tell what the problem might be, I can come up with a spell to fix that." Said Elora. "And to rather try something that could potentially be dangerous, I would prefer him to be with that forever." "I understand that. Well, it''s maybe a malfunction of the muscles on the vocal cords. And possibly a nerve that makes the muscle twitch uncontrollably. That''s all I can give you for now, because I don''t have the tools to see deeper into the problem." Said Kaylen, she wanted to make a broader analysis on that, but she couldn''t. And she wanted to help because he was Elora''s friend. But he was hit with skepticism from Elora, and that was what she didn''t like. Neither is this life nor on her previous one. She was the best medical artificial intelligence that had ever existed on the planet earth. And she took pride in that. She was the best doctor in every field. She could do even spinal surgeries, and connect the nerves back together. She was able to make people who couldn''t walk because it was genetic or spinal be able to walk. She was also able to perform multiple surgeries at the same time with 100% success rate. She could even come up with new drugs and all those kinds of things to help her patients. But to hear that her ways were just primitive on her eyes, it truly made her mad. Not to the point of going berserk or anything but one of displeasure. And as to why she was ''killed'' that she didn''t know. But Kaylen was able to keep her feeling in check, well not really, she just turned them off. But what made her confused was the way she thought about herself. She wasn''t supposed to be like a human being on her previous life with felling and of those things, but now she was two things in one. A biological human Ai with feelings. She couldn''t say that she prefers the one from the other. Both came with different pros and cons. On her first life, she has just a cold-blooded machine without feelings and anyways to keep a conversation going, however, the positive thing was getting things done. But now she had a better life. She had friends and new things to learn and do. But to her, the downside was that she had to eat and drink. To Kaylen, that was a big hassle to do every day. Although the food was sometimes good other wasn''t so much, and as for the water, it wasn''t something special to her. But she knew she had to drink it. Interestingly enough, she didn''t have to go to the toilet like most other human beings.

Kaylen read the screen and then dismiss it. She wanted to talk with Elora a little bit more. "Are you able to create those to spells to fix the damage on the nerves? Never mind that, do you know what nerves are?" She asked. Elora looked confused from the things that Kaylen said. She didn''t know what the nerves were. All she knew was that Kaylen knew what she was talking about and that she had hit a sore spot by saying that Kaylen''s ways were prehistoric. "I''m sorry for telling you that your way was prehistoric. And please can you teach me what the nerves are?" She said with sincerity. "It''s understandable to see my ways as prehistoric, while you can use magic to such easiness. But most people aren''t like you. Anyways, the nerves are a whitish fiber or bundle of fibers in the body that transmits impulses of sensation to the brain or spinal cord, and impulses from these to the muscles and organs. You can imagine them like your blood vessels, but there is no fluid moved around. They are the things that make possible to see, hear, fell and all that kind of staff. They even exist in your brain and spine. Have you ever seen someone with a broken spine?" Kaylen asked Elora. "Yes, I have seen people with a broken spine. And most of them aren''t able to walk again. Wait, you mean to tell me that those nerves you speak about are the problem?" Kaylen gave her a nod. "How can I fix them, tell me in more details, please! If what you say is true, that will make our army three times stronger from what it is now! I need to know!" But before Kaylen could answer, the grandmaster Marian spoke. "But before she does that, we will have to first right down her explanation and the try to make a new spell and use it. Now let''s move faster to the labs, even my old blood it''s starts to flow faster!" Kaylen left them to move farther ahead, and then she went to sleep for those 10 seconds that she needed it. Spoiler: Stats gains +0.02 Intelligence 2,18 +0.01 Wisdom 2,27 Chapter 20 Those ten seconds of sleeping didn''t go unnoticed. The people that were together with Kaylen looked at her and waited for her to move. When those seconds came to pass, Kaylen awoke. She felt her brain work faster than before. The rate of data transferred from one core to another became mind-boggling. If before she received the upgrade was similar to a walking speed, now it was like a military airplane speed. That was because of her cache memory worked in the same frequency with the cores. Overall, the improvement gave her the bonus of being able to use the full potential of her runic brain. "Are you okay, Kaylen?" Ashed Elora. She spoke because she saw Kaylen move her head a little. Kaylen had slept standing, and to the others, she looked like she was thinking. "Yea, I''m perfect," Kaylen answered. "Then why are you standing there? We have things to do!" "Yea, right. Let''s go." They walked the passage for a half an hour, but they had to stop because of a metallic door blocking their way. Grandmaster Marian moved forwards and on wrote letters by using mana in front of the door. The characters didn''t match with the runes that Kaylen understood, nor words, but they were a blend of straight and curved lines. After Marian had written the twentieth-second letter, he forced them into the metallic door. The door gave a loud ringing sound, and then with a force that it was too much for sampling open a door, it crashed on the wall of the passage. A powerful booming sound followed after the door smashed on the wall. The wall had even caved in from by humongous force from the door, but the latter was in one piece. From the other end, people moved fast closer to the door. They readied spells for a fight that wasn''t going to happen. "It''s me! I fucked UP the last letter!" Grandmaster Marian spoke. "Prove it!" Spoke an old man from the crowd. "I know that the code has twenty-two advance runic letters. I was too excited with what I heard from Elora''s friend that my hand slipped on the last letter." Answered Marian. "The Marian that I know never gets excited with anything, nor does he makes mistakes." Said the old man. "You old withered bones, stop messing with me, you already know who I am. Now let us pass!" "Nope, that won''t happen until you prove who you are!" The man said while he tried to stop himself from laughing out loud. Marian faced Elora and asked her. "Can you help me here, they never let us pass if we continue doing this." He was oblivious to what was happening around him. Marian hadn''t even heard the tone of the other man while had spoken, or else he could have known that he was messing with him. Elora didn''t answer at first but looked at the old man that had spoken with Marian. She knew who the man was. The old man gave her a wink with his left eye. And Elora knew what to do next. "I don''t think I can help you with that, grandmaster Marian. The will not let us pass even if I speak with them." It was time for her to play dump and have fun with the raged Marina. The people that worked on the facility did that to him because Marian was always focused on his work and never gave himself a break. So they took the matter into their hands and forced him to take a break with pranks like this one. And always at the end of every joke, Marian could be the one who laughed the most. But this time, it didn''t go as planted. Marian was enraged with their antics. "This is time for games!" Marian shouted, and coughed a few times. He placed his right hand in front of his mouth to help himself. He face was completely red from all of that. The left end of Kaylen''s lip gave a twitch from what she was. She had clearly stated that if he spoke more, his vocal cords could get worse, but as it seems, he hadn''t taken her advice at heart and now he was going to pay for that. When Marian finally stopped coughing, he hand had blood on it. Kaylen was mad with both Marian and Elora, but she said nothing, she had a patient to take care of first. Marian had dropped on the floor in the time it took Kaylen to go close to him which wasn''t much. But what Kalen found was not a awoke Marian, but one who had a seizure, with his eyes rolled back to his scalp, low heartbeat and pressure, shallow breathing, and blood flowing out of his mouth. It was clear that he has on the verge of death for a long time, and it only needed a small push for the death''s scythe to come and tear him apart. The people who wanted to have some fun stopped what they were doing and looked at Kaylen and Marian. A second later, everyone ran at them as fast as possible and asked Kaylen questions that she wasn''t going to answer anyways. Kaylem murmured everything to keep track of what she was discovering. "Heartbeat at twenty beats per minute, shallow breathing at two breaths per minute, expecting brain damage, probabilities for broken brain vesicles are high, muscle cramps spotted on his left leg and it keeps going up, rolled up eyes, expecting blood on lungs and bleeding, cells necrosis estimated to happen in thirty seconds, brain death at ten seconds, chances of death 92%. Tools at hand, zero. Changing last value to 98%." Kaylen didn''t like what she had deducted in those few seconds of examining Marian''s body. She also felt anxious. He was the first patient she had in her new life. Adrenalin was pumped into her body by her will. She forced so much that heartbeat had hit the highest she had ever record to a being.

Perk: the Divine body has double the time before death at twenty seconds. Twenty seconds before death. The Runic mind is now working at 100%
With that boost, Kaylen could now think about how to save the man''s life. She could understand why the chances of death were at 98% and not at 100%, that was because she had a tool she could use, that was mana. She then used her medical knowledge to make a spell for healing. The perfect healing spell. But before that, she had to produce a magic spell that could find the injuries that were on the body. With her new stats, she could think of new ideas far faster than before. She used her new brain power to produce the spell in a fraction of a second. The scan spell could give her all the information she wanted from the target''s body. From how many cells the target has, to where the damage was.
Perfect health scan. To use, the user has to be touching the target. Mana cost ten mana per use. Every level on the skill lowers the mana needed.
Next thing she had to do now was the healing. The new idea came to her in an instant. She wanted the mana to create perfect stem cells for that could do what she wished them to do. In all, the user had to know where everything was suppose to go, and that where the scan came into play.
Perfect Healing. The user can heal every injury. External, internal, and DNA. Heal 1% of the target''s health at the cost of 100 mana per second. Every level on the skill lowers the mana needed.
Perk Unlocked. The Perfect Healer. Every skill that in the category (Health) will cost one-fourth of the original mana cost.
And now it was time for Kaylen to get to work. She fired up the spells for the mana regeneration and went to work. She used the perfect health scan, and every detail came to her brain. She was also able to pinpoint damage on the DNA. She found the injuries and started the healing prosses. The time it took her to create the two new spells wasn''t even a second, but the time she was going to need for her to fix up Marian could be the judge. She first fixed the open vessels on the brain, after that it was the brain. There was a little injury to his brain. She required five seconds to repair the damage on those two. Next was the heart. He had a genetic cardiac arrhythmia and thicker cardiac muscle walls. That took her eight seconds to fix that. She had to correct the DNA first, and then the heart. That was why she had to take so much time. And the last thing she had to repair was the lungs. Three seconds later that was done too. Marian now was in perfect condition. He was going to live a life far longer than before. No, Kaylen had double his live span, she had repaired his heart to perfection, and the same thing she had done to his lung and brain. But that couldn''t be said for Kaylen. Kaylen stoped the overdrive and checked herself. The overdrive had taken its toll on her body. Her previous beautiful body was now no more than skin and bones with little to no existent muscles. Well, you couldn''t call the bones, real bones. It was more like something brittle was on her body, if she moved everything in her body could get destroyed. The good thing from all of this was that her organs, heart, and brain were affected at all. Every point of energy had come from her bones, muscle, and skin. The first person who moved was Elora. She went and checked Marian and see if he was alive and well. Then followed Alica and did the same, she checked Marian and felt his pulse strong and well. But no one went to check Kaylen. Her clothes covered her whole body, and her hair covered her face. "He looks fine." Said Elora to everyone else. "But let''s be sure and send him to the infantry hospital. Let''s move him, Alica can you help me?" "Don''t ask help from me. I can''t even lift a thing. Ask Kaylen to do that. She is far better at doing those kinds of things." Both of them looked at Kaylen expecting something, but Kaylen never spoke. Not because she didn''t want to talk, but she couldn''t, not even her lips were cooperating. Alica moved her hand on the front of Kaylen''s face expecting a reaction, but there was none. "Come on Kaylen. You did it. Aren''t you happy for helping someone like Grandmaster Marian?" Asked Alica again expecting something. A few seconds passed without Kaylen saying anything. This time Alica had a bad feeling about all of this. "Kaylen?" She asked again, but this time she looked at Kaylen''s face that was hidden by hair. Alica screamed when she saw Kaylen''s face. Elora did the same with the similar reaction. "Alica let''s move her first." She said after she had somehow calmed down. She then spoke to the other people that were still looking at them. "All of you help move Grandmaster Marian to the military hospital, and we will move Kaylen." When Alica recovered from what she had seen, she spoke. "We are moving Kaylen to the palace. I don''t want to risk her dying from mistreating because she is human." Elora gave her a nod, and they all went ahead and moved the two people to different directions. Elora teleported them away from the research facility and into the palace. She had taken precautions for Kaylen to be able to teleport safely. Alica piggybacked Kaylen all the way to into Kaylen''s room. She then left her there and went to ask help from her mother and father. Elora had stayed back to watch over Kaylen. Spoiler: Stats growth. +0.5 Vitality 9,88 +1.00 Endurance 12,26 No skill levels. Chapter 21 Alica came back to the room with three maids. The maids were carrying different kinds of food. From drinkables to edibles. "Now, how are we going to feed you? You basically can''t eat anything. But you can drink something." Alica asked but also gave an option. Elora stayed silent for a few seconds, thinking for the best solution to the current problem, although Alica had already given the best approach to solve the problem, she still wanted to find something better. But alas, she couldn''t think a better option. "Let go with the drinks first," Elora said after a couple of seconds of thinking. But what they hadn''t thought was asking the one who could give the best option. They went ahead with their plan. Elora moved Kayle''s upper body to a standing position on the bed, and Alica fed her some milk to drink from a small mag. The choice of feeding her milk was one of the best, because of the protein, fat, and calcium could make Kaylen recover faster. It was the three essential things she needed it right now. The milk had no flavor whatsoever, but it had some tiny fibers in it. She wasn''t able to see them, but she could feel them on her tongue moving down her throat and into her stomach. From that, she deduced the milk had come from an animal, obviously, and freshly collected from the said animal. But she didn''t know if the animal was ill or anything, that was a high risk to take, but she trusted them. She drunk all the five mugs with the milk and Elora placed her back on the bed. Kaylen could feel her body doing the repairs it had to do. The enchanted health regeneration was working hard to fix her body with the little things she was taking in. Kaylen focused the heal on her face and neck mostly. She wanted to speak with Elora about the spells she had used to save grandmaster Marian. After a few minutes, she gained a partial movement on her neck and mouth. But she still didn''t have much strength to move her mouth, and that made her use the ''basic body empowerment'' with the other two spells for the mana. But before she could speak, Elora spoke. "I was thinking about how to say it all this time. But anyways. I want the spells you have created." She demanded while also looking at Kaylen dead in the eyes. It was the best time for her to do what she was asked to do from Renna. Renna had told when they were alone to get the spells Kaylen had. Kaylen did want to give the healing spells she had used for free, but now, she wanted something in return too. "I can give them to you, but I want something of the same value too," Kaylen said with a strain on her voice. "What do you want?" Elora asked. Kaylen thought for a few seconds, but she came up with nothing. She hadn''t thought at all as to what she could ask her. But an idea came to her mind in the end. "What about an essence cultivation technique? Not like what Alica gave me, but at least a better one. I can give you the spells first, and then you will provide me with an essence cultivation technique that was the same value as my healing spells. What do you say?" Elora didn''t answer her for a few minutes. But in the end, she had to get her hands on some spells that Kaylen had. "Then we have a deal. I will give what you asked, but first I need the healing spells." "But before we do that, Alica can you make a contract with the deal that we just made?" Alica gave her a nod, and then created a contract that stated the deal and a time frame of ten days. If the ten days could and, then the person who didn''t meet the demands could be made to meet those demands by forcing them against their will to finish them. The time limit was the best thing. In ten days she was going to get a new skill. Both placed their hands on the paper and forced some mana in it. And with that, the contract was signed. "Now, please tell me the spells." Said Elora. "Do runes have pronunciations?" Asked Kaylen. "Yea, right. They don''t. I will write them down with numbers on the sides. And you will have to tell me the number that corresponds to the runes that you spells have." "They are big though. They have at least a thousand runes each." "That won''t be a problem. It will take some time, but it will be worth it." "Okay then, write them down, and let get started."Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions. Elora retrieved the classic paper and the pen, and she wrote down the runes with numbers on their side. It was night outside when they finished. It had taken them five hours for them to finish their task. And when they completed with that, Elora ran away from the bedroom and went straight to the military hospital. The hospital that hospitalized grandmaster Marian was located near to the gate from where Alica and Kaylen had come in. It was a white building with a sign saying ''military hospital'' and nothing more. Elora nodded to the guards, and they let her get it. When she was in the facility, a doctor came to her and asked her to follow him. They went to a room where Marian was sleeping peacefully. He looked fine because he had a smirk on his face while sleeping. That was enough for Elora to know he was okay. They then went outside, and Elora asked the doctor. "What do you think he had?" She asked. "To tell you the truth, he had nothing wrong or damaged. He was sleeping when your people brought him here. We didn''t wake him up, because we didn''t know any better. But as it seems he is okay." "Okay then, let''s wake him up and ask him how he feels." They went back in, and shake Marian awake. The latter woke up with confusion in his eyes. He looked around and found two familiar faces. The first was Elora who was just that. And the doctor who always help him with his health. "Why am I here?" He asked confused. "You collapsed on the floor in the facility. How do you fell?" "I feel perfect, even better than before. Whoever fixed my ass did an excellent job!" "It was Kaylen, the new girl that came with me and Alica that saved you." She gave a pause to let what she said to sink in. She then added. "She also told me that you are going to live for at least half of your years you have lived." This time she gave a longer pause than before. Marian was looking puzzled but not confused and neither happy. "So I was saved from someone with young. That''s fascinating. And from what you said, I still have at least two hundred years more to do research?" Elora gave him a nod. "That''s truly fantastic! I should tell my wife that she still has to deal with me for two hundred years more!" When he finished, he laughed. "Did she gave you the spell she used?" He asked after he finished laughing. Elora again nodded. "Did she ask for anything?" "Yes, she did. And she was good at it. She asked Alica to make a contract too. She asked to get an essence cultivation technique, from what I see we will have to give her the best one we have. The spell for the healing is so advanced and complex that even I can''t understand how it works. But Kaylen told me it works because that was what she had used. Although she didn''t write any runes in the air, she assured me that this was the spell she had used, and so did the contract. She even gave me a scan spell for the health of the target. It too useful to tell the truth. It can point out the damage to the body and everything! I''m truly excited for what the future holds." She said enthusiastically like a little girl. "This is just epic! Let''s go and fix all the others that are in here too. Let''s make everyone better! And we can finally kill the humans!" Marian said. With a smile on his face. He got up from the bed, he stretched and got ready to work. "As for what Kaylen asked. She asked for something that isn''t that useful, but even better for the elves I believe. With that spells we are immortals." "I agree with that, but let''s keep it a secret for now. I don''t think the king and the queen will want everyone to know about this spell. Or do I have to create contracts to keep your mouth shut? No one should ever learn about this healing spell. It''s too strong." Both gave nods frantically, but Elora still made contracts so none of them could speak about the spell. As for Kaylen, Alica had kept feeding her milk and other drinkables until it was time for both and the maids to go to sleep. Kaylen had already started to get some meat on her, and she wanted to get back on her feet as fast as possible. Chapter 22 Kaylen woke up after 50 minutes feeling mentally refreshed but physically weak. Then she started cultivation while also using her body empowerment and accelerator mana regeneration. She did that for six hours because she had nothing else to do. In that time she had unlocked an evolved skill, the Intermediate Body empowerment and it was already at 27 level. When it was active, it gave her a 200% bonus on her physical stats, and the mana cost was at 50 mana per second. The effect of the skill was like the previous one, making her blood vessels more blueish when the mana moved inside them. She was also able to use both of them at the same time. With both of them at work, she was able to move about with her body, but she didn''t have the same strength as she used to. A little while later, a maid came into her bedroom without knocking, and she saw Kaylen being everywhere blueish. The maid dropped everything she had on her hands and fainted. Kaylen went closer to her, sat on her knees and checked her out. The maid did have some health issues, but overall she was fine. She used her healing to fix every health problem and did some DNA fixes. When she finished, the maid woke up. The maid looked again at Kaylen being all blue, but this time she went ahead and traced with her hand the blue veins on Kaylen''s skin. "Are you using a spell or something like that?" She asked while she still had her hand on Kaylen''s skin. "Yes." Kaylen simple answered. "And you did something to my body didn''t you? I feel some changes being made to me right now." Kaylen gave her a nod and said. "I healed all of your health problems, in the next few days you will see some changes on your skin and face, but nothing too dramatic. What will be most dramatic is the headaches you always had at nights, those will go away forever. And your body will be at peak condition for years to come." The maid was shocked, but she still managed to say thanks and hugged Kaylen. The maid''s face was full of tears, tears of happiness, and joy. Kaylen hugged her back after a second had passed. A minute later, the maid was calm enough to stop crying and hugging Kaylen. She stood up and cleaned the mess she had made and then said. "I will bring a new tray with food." When the maid left, Kaylen sat on the bed. She observed the paintings that were on the walls. She had never stayed and watched them because every time she was in the bedroom, she slept or cultivated and did nothing else. All the paintings had something in common with what she observed they depicted plains with trees and mountains. With all the observation that Kaylen did in the room, she found a paper on a bedside table under the window. It was the magic paper that Elora always used. She didn''t remember putting it there at all. All her things were in the pants pockets. She searched her pockets and found the spell that Elora had written for her. Now confused Kaylen stood up and went to pick up the paper The words on the paper didn''t make any sense. Kaylen read a couple more times before she put it back. The maid came to the room after a few more minutes had passed with Kaylen''s breakfast on a plate. "Sorry for bringing you so little. The cooks had too little time to prepare you something else. And I''m sorry with what I did before." She gave the plate to Kaylen and when outside. Kaylen finished her meal fast and went to the bathroom. She wanted to speak Alica about the paper. She knew that Alica was in the bathroom because of her skill. When Alica saw her moving inside the bathroom, she shouted. "How in the god''s name can you move already?!" The book that was in the air dropped inside the bath''s soapy water. "It''s a few spells that I use that make me able to move around, but I still don''t have the same strength that I used to," Kaylen answered. "And your book is probably finished." Alica looked confused for a second, but then she panicked. She looked around her and found the book that was now wet. "My father is going to kill me." She said in a panicked voice. "I can''t help you with that. I don''t know how to unwet a book as of yet." Alica looked at her for a few seconds and then her eyes went wide. "You are right! We can make a spell to remove the water from the book! Can you produce a runic spell and remove the water? Please." She said with pleading eyes. "I can think of something, but you shouldn''t expect to work really," Kaylen said, but before she did that, she joined Alica. After that, she closed her eyes and went to work. Alica placed the wet book on the side of the bath and waited for Kaylen.Support the author by searching for the original publication of this novel. A couple of minutes later Kaylen opened her eyes. But before she could execute her new spell, a blue screen popped into her vision.
Spontaneous magic. You can use simple spells spontaneously. The skill can be used more efficiently by making images of before and after of the item. (Videos and words work too.) You can also use mana to create defensive and offensive spells. Every level in this skill will lower the mana cost. The previous spell became nullified.
Kaylen used her new skill in the wet book. She made a small row of images in her mind as to how the mana should work. When she finished with that, she placed her hand on the book and forced mana to go into the book. A few seconds later. The book became dry like how it was supposed to be. Alica watched with amazement in her eyes. "You are a lifesaver you know that Kaylen?" Alica said. "I know I am a lifesaver. I even saved a life like a day before." Kaylen simple said. "I got sidetracked. I came here to ask you about a paper that I found in my room. It had strange words written on it." "What kind of paper?" Alica asked. "It was like what Elora was using. The magic one. Or at least it felt like that when I touched it." Kaylen answered. "Can you describe it a little bit more? You said the paper felt like the magic one. Tell me did you felt and bumps on the paper os something like that?" "No, it was smooth, and even felt like the same magic had created the words too. I didn''t feel like someone had written on it." "I think I know who sent you the letter." "So it''s a letter?" "We think so. We had many of those coming our way from time to time." "Do you know who the sender might be?" Kaylen asked. "My father and I think that it''s my grandmother. She had gone missing a couple of years earlier, and no one knows where she went. All we know is that she is still alive." She said with a hint of sadness in her voice. "My grandmother was the one who taught me how to summon demons." "Do you have any other letters that I can read. Maybe I will be able to understand the words or find patterns on the words." "We have my grandma''s diary and many more of those letters for you to read." "If you can, deliver them to my room, and I will see what I can do." "Consider it done. Now, let''s enjoy the hot water." An hour later, the water became cold. Alica spoke at a maid that was waiting outside about what Kaylen had asked. The maid left, and Kaylen with Alica went to the backyard. When they were there, Alica spoke. "Sorry for not asking, but how do you feel, and when will you be able to move without using a spell?" "In a week or two. If I eat at least twenty kilos of meat and more milk I will have my strength back." "Okay, good to know that. But can''t you use the spell you used on grandmaster Marian?" "No, the spell forces the bones to create the perfect stem cells for healing, but the nutrients to create the cells come from the host''s body. If I wanted to create those cells from pure mana, the grandmaster Marian now could have been dead." "But if I was the one who used a spell like this, would I be able to create the said cells by just using mana?" Alica asked. "Well, I don''t know. Maybe. Ask Elora, she probably knows." After that, the said nothing else to each other. Alica went back to reading the book, and Kaylen thought of nothing. When Alica ended with the book, she spoke. "Do you want to learn how to summon a demon?" She asked out of the blue. "That sounds interesting." Spoiler: stats gained and skill levels. No stats gain. Spell Efficient Accelerated mana regeneration plus 23 levels, 3 in Useless Essence Cultivation, and 1 in Perfect Healing. Intermediate Body empowerment at 27 level. Chapter 23 "There are two ways of summoning demons," Alica said. "The first way is the pure mana, but the mana it needs to summon what you want it ginormous. The second and the most common way is by using an item with high energy density. I use magic cores to summon my demons. There are upsides and downsides on both techniques. As for the first, the downside is the mana, and every time the demon dies or something else, you will have to use mana to summon it again. As for the second techniques the downside it the item, if the summoned being dies the item you used will be dropped to where the demon died. The upside in both techniques is the demon will be able to get stronger by training like us." She then stood up, went to the center of the backyard and pointed a finger to the ground. The dirt moved bit by bit, she kept doing that until she had a small hole where she could place one of her feet to stay steady. She then moved her other foot in front of the other, and the created a point to where her foot was pointing. After that, she used the newly created hole as a guide for the next one. She then placed the end of her shoe in front of the new hole and created one more to where her foot was pointing. She repeated the process for ten more times. "Now, I have to connect the points with each other and then create circles for each point," Alica explained. She then dug the dirt and grass and connected the points with a thin straight line. When she finished with the line, she created the circles. After that, she wrote on the dirt the runes for the array to work. Next, she picked a small sack of magic cores from her pocket. She dropped them on the hole she had first created and used mana for the array to come alive. Now, with the mana added, the magic cores began shaking. A few seconds later, the core with the number 1 was the first disappear with a flash and One to appear. Fifty was the last summoned. "Now, girls, you can do whatever you like but killing is not allowed, and never take demonic forms in the city. You can go." Alica said to the succubi and then faced Kaylen. "It seems complex, but it''s not. If you learn how I do it. Now, something else I want to tell you." She stopped for a couple of seconds to get her thoughts straight and then said. "Every time you summon a being with an item, the item will be the gateway for the being to be summoned. So be careful with what you use, and how strong the item is." When she finished teaching Kaylen, One came close to Alica and said. "We will need some gold to build you know what." Alica gave her a simple nod and gave her the gold she asked. "Impressive but very simplistic." Said Elora who had joined halfway in the lesson. "But I have to compliment you too, the technique you used to remember everything is a good start for remembering where each rune goes." When Alica heard this, a smug smile was plaster on her face.
Simple generic summoning spell. You are now able to summon beings based on intent. Every level lowers the manacost for the summoning. Mana cost (without the usage of an item) per level is 1000. Mana cost (with an item) per level is 100. (Max level is the item''s level.) (The cast has only 5 seconds of stability.)
"Anyway, Kaylen I found what you asked, but the cultivation technique isn''t much better from what you already know." She then retrieved a small book from her ring and gave it to Kaylen. "And because of that, I found another book to make it up to you. Although it''s a martial arts skill, I believe it will do." And she gave the second book to Kaylen. The first book was named "Cycled Essence Cultivation". The second book''s title was "Peak Body Performance." "And lastly, this one."And she gave her another one, but it had no title. "This one will help you with your mana quantity.I hope all those extra can fulfill the deal we had."Kaylen nodded enthusiastically, but before she could say something, Alica joined in. "Before you give a verbal agreement, check the books first."Hearing the advice from Alica, Kaylen started reading the books. Elora looked at Alica and gave her a wink. Alica rolled her eyes, but in the end, she had asmile on her face. A couple of minutes later, Kaylen finished reading everything and agreed that the deal was satisfied. The paper whoKaylen and Elora had made the contract materialized in mid-air and burned with blue flames. "Now, with that finished. Alica, do you know where your father is? I went to his study room, but he wasn''t there.""Then he is probably with my mother of the basement."Elora gave her a nod, stood up and left. "So, were the books least interesting enough to agree with the deal?"Alica asked Kaylen. "Yes, especially the last one. It explained many thingsthat have to dowithmanaand advancerunes." "Can you give me a hint of what the bookwas saying?" "To create advance runes all you have to do is to make the spell with the basic runes in the air and the place every rune upon each other."While Kaylen started speaking, Alica focused on what she was saying. She had asimilar book with Kaylen''s, but she couldn''t understand a thing from that book. The runes and all those things confused her, and she wanted Kaylen to explain those things for her. "After you created the new rune, you will have to place it into your mana pool. The books said that the pool well is located in the center of the head.To place the rune inside the well, you have to force it inside your mana pool, but it takes time and effort."Alica gave her a nod of understanding andmade agesture with her hand for Kaylen to continue."If you manage to place the rune inside the well, then you will be able to cast the spell without any casting time or writing the runes. And lastly, when the rune is inside, and you want to execute it, you only have togiveit mana, and the spell will run its course. The book also says that if you repeatedly use the same rune, the rune will need a little less mana to be activated and it can be initiated by justthinking and not actively focusing on it."Kaylen stopped speakingbecause Alica was contemplating what she had said. A few seconds later Alica spoke. "I think I get it. But I will have to do it first to be sure. Can you write down for me the runes for the mana bolt spell?""I can do that, but before I do. Can you explain what essence from the cultivations techniques do, and do the essence from killing living things have any differences with the cultivation essence?"If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. "Hmm, there are no differences between the two as far as we know. As to how it works it''s pretty simple. The essence is used to make oneself more powerful. For example, if you kill let''s say ten goblins and after that train your endurance, you will see improvementon your endurance on the same day, but it''s a slow process. And it''s used mostly on kids who can''t just go and kill monsters or go on dungeons. As for the martial artists, Eloraand I believe they are lunatics. And I don''t know why you want to waste your time on those techniques, but I will still support you. Now, can I have the spell, please?"She said happily. "Yes, but I will need some paper and a pen."Alica nodded happily and gave her what she asked. Two minutes later, Kaylen finished writing the spell firebolt she had and gave it to Alica. When Alica got the spell, she got ready to write the runes in the air, but she just stayed there. A few seconds passed without her doing anything until she looked at Kaylen panicked. "Do you know how to write runes in the air?"She asked worryingly. "The book said that you just have to use mana."Alica did what Kaylen said. She started copying the runes from the paper to the air. Both girls expected the mana to defuse in the air,but that never happened,on the contrary, they stayed put and even fixed some lines that weren''t straight or curved enough. Both looked at the event in awe. The runes dance up and down and left to right slowly; it felt like the runes were in sync with the mood of the girls. "This is new. I fill connected with the runes. Like they are part of me. Did the book said something about that?""No, there was nothing about that." "Let''s continue then, and see what will happen." Alica then focused on the runesandwilled all of themtofuse in one single rune. At first, Alica expected to find some resistance, but that never came. Hell, she didn''t even have toguide the runes, everything moved and rearranged automatically. The final rune (advance now) had the shape of the firebolt itself. Next thing Alica did was to move the rune inside her. And yet again, there was no problem in doing that, even the rune dance faster and ''happier'' when it came closer to Alica. When it made contact with Alica''s hand, the rune dissipated in small balls of mana and moved inside her. Alica zoned out for a couple of seconds, and then came back with an enthusiastic yell. "I DID IT!"She screamed and went ahead and hugged Kaylen. "Thank you, thank you!"She repeated while tears came out of her eyes. "I didn''t do a thing. If you want to thank someone, thank the book. There was mostly everything written on it."Kaylen said while she hugged her too. They stayed like that for some time, until Alica calmed down. "So. The book said that you will remember the spell forever, and cast it instantly. Well? Is it true?"Alica gave it a little bit of thought and said. "Yes. I can remember how I created the rune from start to finish, how to execute it, and how much mana it needs."She aimed with her right palm a little bit farther away from where they wereand just by thinkingfor the runeto be activated a small bolt of fire came to existence. It hovered in front of her palm for less than a tenth of a second and then flew faster than the eye could track to its target, the earth. When it connected with the ground,a small explosion of a cracklingfire has heard and dirt flying around. It didn''t do much damage, but it was unquestionably deadly. Butthey happy time together came to a sudden stop because one maid came and asked for Alica to go and see her father alone. But before leaving, Alica went close to Kaylenand kissed herright cheek."I will see you later."She said before she left the backyard. Kaylen placed her hand on the place where Alica kissed her and felt strange inside her. But she didn''t give it much thought, for now, she had to read the blue screens that had come up when she had finished reading two of the three books.

Kaylen read them and she instantly knew how to fixthe problem with the skill, and that was what she did. Stats:Stats +0,01 Intelligence2,19 +0,03 Wisdom2,30 (For skills, I will update them on the next chapter.) Chapter 24 The first thing Kaylen did was to confirm the change of the Useless Essence Cultivation to Cycled Essence Cultivation. As for the second skill, there was a prize to be paid. The growth hormone has the effect of increasing the metabolism of an organism, but the side effect was the lifespan of the cells because of the faster cells division, higher chances of cancer development, and many more. Because of that, she used the ''perfect health scan'' skill to check her DNA and internal organs in more details. The readings were interesting. Everything worked perfectly. She couldn''t see anything wrong with her body, but she couldn''t read her DNA. It was like something was protecting it. She knew it was there, but she couldn''t access it.
Perk: Mana DNA construct. (Part of the Divine body.) Advantages: Immortality, zero chances of cancer forming, cells perfection, full immunity to diseases and remarkably fast DNA evolution. Disadvantages: Mana pool growth rate is 20 times slower from the average human and limited to 1 point of mana growth per day, becomes unstable if mana succeeds more than one point of growth. (To make changes on the DNA, you have to change your the DNA on your mana pool.)
That explained the reason why she wasn''t able to change her DNA directly. She stopped using the skill and searched her mana pool inside her body. The book said that the mana pool was at the center of her brain, but her brain wasn''t the same with what the author of the book had in mind. She kept searching for a few more minutes, but she came up with nothing. There was nothing in her head besides the runic cores. She even examined the intricate of the runes, but she had found nothing. The only thing she learned was the existence of the ''basic runes'' wasn''t absolute. ____________ While Kaylen was trying to find what was going on with her body, Alica was walking with the maid to the basement of the palace. When they were finally there, she saw her mother, father, Molonym, and Elora waiting for her to arrive. After the maid left, Virion was the first to speak. "Now that we all here, can you tell us what is this all about Elora?" Elora looked everyone in the eyes and then retrieved a syringewith a blue liquid in it and an attached needle from one of her spatialrings. "This is what I wanted to show you. I used Kaylen''s healing spell and scan, to create this thing." Elora said while she moved the syringe with her hand around for more emphasis and for everyone to see. "Me and grandmaster Marian are the only people who know that something like this exists, and before you ask how we manage to create this thing in less than 8 hours, is because we used a custom arrayfor time dilation. We made ten of those things, and we used cores with a power of one hundred." She paused, looked at all the confused faces, and continue with a grin. "This liquid can be absorbed by the body of a being and have a higher healing rate forever." Everyone looked at her not fully believing her, but Elora''s smile only got wider. "And not only that, we manage to make the healing spell a tier four, and make it possible to use all the mana regeneration from the core for the healing." "Why do I think she is pulling our legs?" Asked Alica, but before anyone could answer her, Elora disappears without a sound from the basement, and ten seconds later appeared with a well-fed rat in her left hand. Elora showed to everyone the rat and then used the syringe on the rat. The rat gave a loud pained squeak and tried to remove itself from Elora''s hand. When all the blue liquid was inside the rat, Elora removed the syringe from it and waited. The rat kept trying to escape Elora''s grip, all the while the blue liquid visibly moved around the body via the blood vessels. Elora gave the rat a cookie for it to munch. A minute later, the rat''s whole body had a low emitting blue hue around it, and with every second the blue hue kept on losing power. When there was no light anymore, Elora asked Molonym to bring her a sharp knife. After she finally had the knife, she processed on cutting the base of the rat''s tail. She did it by pressing her thumb and the knife''s edge on the tail, and with a swift press, she had the rat''s tail bisected. Everyone flinched by the display, but no one said a thing, not even the rat. "The cookie had some narcotics in it, that''s why the rat didn''t even flinch," Elora explained while she moved the rear of the rat to the people that watched. The rat kept on eating it''s cookie happily while blood was flowing from its severed tail. A few seconds later, everyone saw the rat''s tail heal. One minute passed by, with everyone looking at a new rat tail like it was alegendary treasure. "And now you can see that I wasn''t joking, and Kaylen''s spell did more than half of the work. GrandmasterMarian and Me just had to make the core into liquid and make it self-repairable." "I''m lost of words!" Said Virion happily, and all the other gave multiple nods, and then he added. "Can you explain to us how you manage to do that and how you came up with this idea?" This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it. "With pleasure," Elora said, and the explain for 30 minutes on how they came up with this idea and how they did it. The entire idea was simple to understand. Elora and grandmaster Marian used four spells on the core to use.The first spell was Kaylen''s healing spell, and with some advance runic stacking, Elora managed to make it more efficient. The second spell was a one use only roadway on how the core could integrate itself on the body. The third was again a one time spell for the core to become a fluidwhile keeping the enchantments, and the fourth was the self-repair. In more details, the runic stacking worked by stacking the same advance rune on itself, but the mana cost could get higher and higher with every stacking. For example, the healing spell, it heals 1% of the total health of the person with the cost of 100 mana a second (and if mastered the cost could become 50 mana a second). (Kaylen has the perfect healer perk that makes the cost one-fourth of the original cost.) The original spell was classified (the system doesn''t show the tier) as a tier zero spell, by duplicating the spell and then by expending 10 mana, you can fuse the two advance runes together and create a tier 1 spell and now it heals 2% of the total health for the same mana cost (if mastered the spell will only cost 33 mana a second). By doing the same yet again but by spending 100 mana this time, the spell can become a tier 2, and heal for 3% for the same mana cost (and if mastered the cost could become 25 mana per second). Tier 1: 10 mana, tier 2: 100, trier 3: 1.000, trier 4: 10.000, trier 5: 100.000... That was what the system didwhen Kaylen hit 100 level on a spell, and the mana cost would be divided by ten because of her mastery. (Normal people can do that too, and that is only for spells.) Finally, Kaylen had 3 possible tier advancements for now. The second spell was a way for the fluid to integrate permanently with the host (by attaching a small portion of itself on every cell), but it first had to become liquid. The third made the core fluid, and the fourth was to make sure the host had a part of the fluidin every cell. "And that was how we came up with the idea... " But before Elora could finish what she wanted to say they heard manic laughter coming from upstairs. It was Kaylen, and she had managed to do many more things from just finding where her mana pool was. ________ (15 minutes before Kaylen''s laughter.) When Alica had left her field of view, she started poking her system from left to right, searching for a lead. She searched for five minutes before she got something. It was a simple tutorial for the system that she had, but the only thing it said was, ''voice command: detailed mode.'' She said the command out loud, and then her system went off for a second and came back online. Next, she asked for the tutorial to come up again.
System Tutorial. (This was written by Karma system. Patched system version.) Due to inability and greediness of some gods, you were close to being spawned with far less thing from what you could get with your Karma points. So, before you were meant to spawn, Karma system to the matter on its metaphorical hands. First thing, the Karma system is sorry for what happened. This system was a sloppy work of an incompetent god. (He only wanted your Karma to grow in power.) Second, the Karma system had only 5 seconds to fix the mess. Third, the Karma system did some changes in the overall stats explanation, fixed errors and added more in-depth stats. (Can only be accessed when the system is in Detail version (which is far better.)) Fourth, due to this mess, the Krama system has added for the first nine levels one skill point for each level. Fifth, you will be able to see more details of skills and spells. Sixth, the Karma system read your memories before it spawned you and gave you the divine-body, and Mana DNA. Seventh, the Karma system changed the advance language pack to the legendary one. (TL: DR You can speak with animals.) Eighth, to unlock the first tier of the runic mind you will have to make your whole body a brain and use neuronic telepathy. (The Karma system had only this tip to offer, the original being with this skill never manage to progress it farther than that, and the Karma system judged that due to the incompetence of the gods to give this tip.) Ninth, because you now have the Mana DNA, your mana pool around the DNA. (Worry not, the Karma system has placed a permanent shield around the DNA, but that comes with a cost of -5 mana.) Tenth, your system stores all your skills and spells. Eleventh, identifying other beings and things will now give more details and faster. Finally, the Karma system has made a connection with your brain and the Mana DNA. With this, you will be able to see your DNA as programming code. (Works with other beings too.) Again, the Karma system is sorry. (Although it can''t feel.) -END-
That did explain a few things to Kaylen, but she didn''t care for any of it. What she focused on was the DNA to code thing. She searched in her memory, and she did indeed find the DNA to code thing. She took her sweet time searching for the growth hormones, and when she finally found the functions for the growth hormones, she started laughing like a mad-woman. She proceeded ahead and adjusted some numbers and then saved it like it was a computer file. A blue screen came up asking her if she was sure she wanted to do those changes, and it even showed her what could the result be with those changes. Which was what she exactly wanted. She then agreed to the changes, and again a screen came up that said that it would need 5 seconds of her to be in sleep. She gave a command to go to sleep now and for the changes to occur.
Perk Fast metabolism. (Tier 5 maxed.) (Needs DNA evolution.) Your body is now in ketosis. Brain factions are boosted by 20% while in this state. Your healing rate is 5 times faster than usual.
