《Hell on Earth [You Decide What Happens]》 Chapter 1: Im already in Hell "You humans constantly embrace the devil''s warmth, punishment must be enacted by my will!" "Wh..who was that?" "Kekekeke, father had finally lost it, it''s time to reign Hell on Earth!" "Father, you cannot! Humans can be good, you mustn''t do this!" "Quiet all of you! My command is law!" "Sorry father, but I won''t stand for this, I will side with the humans once again" "You dare question my order? If you leave now, you may never again return to Heaven!" Was someone playing a joke on him? "These bastards..." He mumbled in annoyance and anger. "If it''s fine with you, father, I''d like to start the apocalypse now" "Yes, begin immediately" "You are all too much! Humans, if you are listening to this, I know you may be confused but, please overcome the coming apocalypse and work together to survive! I will give each and every one of you the power to face dangerous situations, farewell humans, I have faith!" "You dare! Come take your punishment!" It sounded like a thunderous clap, quick and precise, like a flyswatter swatting a fly. If he was to assume, the man who had faith in humans was killed by his father. Then there was the more sinister sounding voice, the one who wanted to start the apocalypse. "Hey, why are you guys playing around with me like this? If you want to kill me, then just kill me dammit!" He yelled and yelled for someone to end his misery, but there was no response. Suddenly, a bright big ball of light descended through the ceiling. His eyes went as wide as a camels'' back. The sight was magnificentand eerie at the same time, it was as if a heavenly entity was calling out to him. The light emitted a warm and fuzzy heat and began to descend slowly and innocently while waddling side to side like a duckling following its mother. He reached out his hand unconsciously, it was an instinct hidden deep in the heart. A single tear had fallen down his face as the light was absorbed into his body. He didn''t know why he had cried just then, but all he knew was that he should. There was no more light, it was gone, but he could feel it in his bones, and his brain, his organs, his arms and leg and his blood. It was as if he has taken love in itscelestial form by swallowing it whole. ''Was this the thing that power that was given to us?'' ''I don''t feel anything speci...'' You have received a divine blessing! Scanning body for further analysis... Beep beep beep beep...Scanning Complete! Suddenly, a bunch of words appeared in his mind. I''m not going crazy or hallucinating or anything but is the apocalypsereally happening?'' "......" ".........." "HahahaHAHha..." ''I don''t know why I''m laughing, but it looks like I''m really going to die a virgin...'' ''I don''t have anyone to love anyway, there is no point in living anymore, maybe I should just accept my fate...'' ".........." As your greatest sin is Sloth, you shall be given the class of Sloth. Please choose a Beginners Sloth Ability. [Note, you can only choose one, which will be your designated pathway, please choose wisely] A: [Claws of Sloths -Permanently hold a single retractable claw in both knuckles, able to cut through common trees] B: [Sweet Dreams - When sleeping, your body regenerates at a much faster rate] C: [Good Night - Shoot a manifestationalpulse towards a target which does magical damage and offers a small chance to sleep] ''So this is what the power is supposed to be...'' ''But why do we get sin themed abilities? Shouldn''t we get something more holy? I guess the celestial being meant for us to fight fire with fire in this apocalypse...'' ''Will any of these abilities even help me escape?'' Would he even want to escape? He is already in hell, and what''s waiting for him outside is an even worse hell. Sometimes he just wants to lay back and let fate roll the dices. The only single thing that tethers him to the realm of the living is that he still believes in love, which is a naive thought. No one loves him, not even his parents. Jon Jovhoski was kidnapped. Sitting inside a cell all alone with barely any food to eat, he had been locked up for approximately two months. His capturer''s intention was to blackmail his parents into paying a sizeable paycheck for his release, but it seems that they refuse to pay any cent. Being alone in a cold wet cell does a number on people. His only way to hold latch himself onto sanity was to live in his dreams. He constantly created his own world in his mind and lived in them so he doesn''t have to think about reality too much. His most common dreams are obviously about love, but for some reason, they always end in disaster... Why must he always be obsessed with relationships? Is it because he was deprived of any real-life social communication? Hell, he didn''t even have any friends! He shook his head before thinking clearly on the matter in front of him. ''All three abilities are actually very useful'' A: Could possibly help him cut through the lock on the door, freeing him. B: Could help him regenerate and replenish his sickly body. There is a chance that this ability will also solve his hunger. His body is very weak and skinny due to being greatly starved most of the time. Maybe he could essentiallylive forever? But only if sleeping helps replenish lost nutrients. C: This is useful if his capturers walk into his cell. Shooting them down with an energy pulse and stealing their key sounds satisfying. There is also a chance of causing them to sleep. ''But there is a lot of what ifs'' What if the claws from ability A isn''t enough to break open the lock? It could be used to attack the enemies if they enter the cell, but within his weakened state, it is wishful thinking that he would be able to inflict any damage to them this way. Ability B making him immortal seems too good to be true, what if he is just overrating the ability and it doesn''t replenish lost nutrients to satiate his hunger. The only positive right for this in his current situation is to rejuvenate his weakened state just by sleeping, making him return back to 100% health. Ability C seems like the best choice if the enemy does indeed enter. But that just it, or maybe not. Maybe the energy pulse can be used to shoot open the lock? ''If I was already outside, I may have chosen B, being able to regenerate in the apocalypse is a very strong ability, there may be deadly disease everywhere and if there are monsters... As long as you can runand hide, any of your wounds will be mended.'' ''If I want to get out, Awould be the best option, but with my weakly body, I won''t be able to do much against the enemies if they are still here in whatever damn location I reside in...'' ''C could also break the lock, but is least likely than A, but this is the best option to fight against other people, or monsters if there are any in this apocalypse. With a weak body, it seems to rely on this magical energy as an attack form makes more sense than relying on your physical body. ''It seems that I can''t make a decision...'' "Maybe my indecisiveness is what would kill me in this apocalypse" Jon openly mocked himself before laying silently on the cold hard ground. "Maybe I should let you guys decide what I should pick?" Jon suddenly looked up towards the ceiling and saw many faces of people with different age and races. Jon likes to call these people spectators, he depends on these people to make a decision for him when he can''t make a choice. He has been seeing these people after one monthof his imprisonment and he is aware that he is hallucinating. Chapter 2: Uncanny Bear The faces looked down on Jon like a murder of crows. Their dark expression twitches constantly betweensmiles and frowns. It seems they were arguingwith each other unintelligible sound. Just looking at the grotesque faces sent shivers down his spine. Jon definitely did not dare to summon them too much, but only when he was stuck in a blockage of some sort. Down in the cold chilling abandoned prison, locked inside a foul-smelling cell. There were no prison bars but instead, he was inside a squared room with nothing but a flickering light and a large door with a small windowless window for delivery of his nasty sour meals. Furthermore, he didn''t even have clothes to cover up or keep warm, there were only a thin old sheet and a teddy bear. He hugged the small uncanny bear while he was near paralysed when spectating the ghoulish spectators. This is what he must bare through when he needs something else to make the decision for him. After a period of brief silence, eachthe of the faceswhispered their answerwithout hesitation before smiling sadistically. This moment always gave Jon goosebumps as thedisappeared hazing into specks of air like drifting sand while as they came to a decision. You could be reading stolen content. "I choose ability C then..." B had the lowest amount of votes, while A and C were the only competitors running. Ultimately it was C that came out victoriously. "You have chosen C, this is the Mage Route, are you sure you want to pick this ability?" Yes/No? The mage route? So the claws must be the combat route, and regeneration must be the defensive... "Yes I am sure" Congratulations, please check your new status screen. Human: Jon Jovhoski / Age: 23 / Male Class: Sloth Lvl 1 Energia: [12/12] Abilities Good Night: Lvl 1 [Cost 1 Energia] [ -Shoot a manifestationalpulse towards a target which does magical damage and offers the target a small chance to sleep] ''But what are the exact chances of making a target sleep? Can''t you at least tell me that?'' Suddenly, a bone-chilling breath of winters air entered the gap from the meal delivery hole. Jon could barely seesomeone on the other side of the door. He didn''t dare to move, the air went so frosty that his lips turned blue and his sweat frozen. He found it really hard to breathe and he tried to hide his presence to the best of his ability. But for some reason, he regretted not choosing option B. If he could just sleep, then he could survive through this bitter moment. Suddenly, he heard a loud scream. Chapter 3: Escape! The screams were hysterical and deafening, "Get away, get away, GET AWAY!" Jon clutched the teddy bear into his chest, his fingers were shivering and bony, and the air condensed into small white frosty fogs as he breathed slowly and quietly. It was impossible to wire his jaw shut because his teeth were clattering. "Arrrrrgh" The sound of a regretful final gasp before the sound of blood splatting, bone-cracking gnawing of the flesh was present for all to hear. "Clickity clack" Jon''s teeth clicked rapidlydecided to stuff the corner of the thin sheet in his mouth.Fear held him captive in the arms of a hungry beast. This wasn''t the same type of fear that he had with the spectators, the spectators were a figment of his imagination. No this... This was real fear which shackled him to the bones. The thing has already moved past his door, but he didn''t dare to check. He could still hear the chewing and swallowing of flesh and bones. The temperature was getting lower and lower by the minute. He wished to sleep and forget all his troubles, but sleep is what would cause his death. It was getting too cold, he needed to move quickly otherwise he would very much freeze to death before he would dieof hunger. But how was he going to escape? That thing wasstill on the other side of the door. Should he shoot whatever he sees with his newfound enemy? That''s a viable strategy considering that there is a small gap in the doorway. But he hadn''t exactly figured out how his ability works, what if he misses? Jon decided it was time to stand firmly on his two legs which were shaking like a blowing leaf branch. Most of his muscles and fat had disappeared and what was left were very skeletal limbs with blue veins flowing vibrantly like a full body tattoo. He folded the sheet in half then wrapped it around his waist like a skirt, leaving his upper body bare. This way he would be able to move freely while walking without dropping thesheet. This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. He unconsciously tucked the bear underneath his armpit as he tiptoedquietly towards the cold door. Each step felt like a landmine as making a sound be very alarming. Before, he was simply lucky that the thing was too busy tearing apart its prey to notice that a scared tooth clattering man wasnearby in a locked room. He estimated that he would die in about five to ten minutes if the temperature were to continue dropping, so he bravely made his way over to his destination. Icicles hangdown the tip of his eyelids and lips due to his tears, sweat and saliva succumbing to thefrigid environment. Jonmade a decision not to pluck any in case they fell and resonate across the ground. The gap was within reach butjust staring down at it made him feel very nauseated. It was still loudly gormandizing a feast, slurping, relishing and devouring the bloody organs and slimy intestines like wet noodle broth. Jon didn''t want to waste any more time and finally peered through the hole. His head was filled with alarm! The thing was gone and all that was left was a bloodied mangled corpse. "Shit" He muttered softly as he recognised the man who was ripped apart thoroughly. His cap was yellow and bloodied. Jon only knew one man who wore a yellow cap. It was one of the kidnappers who had the responsibility of delivering his meal. But this bastard purposely held back some meals while taunting haughtily. He sometimes showcases really aromatic meals in front of Jon and eats it like a pig. "Karma''s a bitch huh..." There was also something else. This guy also gave him the teddy bear, not out of goodwill, but to bring him despair. As Jon remembered, the man told him that the teddy bear belonged to another prisoner who was successfully sold... Jon was glad to see the scum get what he deserved but this scene made him recall the fact that there are other prisoners out there. He searched around through the gap once more before finding the outermost area to be free of movement. His felt like there tiny wolves biting his skin with icy fangs. Itdo or die, he pointed his right pointy finger to the lock before thinking about his ability. "Goodnight" A small purple light glowed at the tip of his finger and a small bolt of energy rushed out like thunder. The lock broke apart easily but brought forth a largebanging sound which reverberated throughout the hallway. It was too loud! The door creaked opened but Jon was scared witless at the development of his escape. He shooked out of his stupor and shoved open the door. He could see two exits along a long narrow hallway, and he was sandwiched into the middle. Where to run? Towards the right where the corpse is? Or to the left? He quickly summoned the spectators again, and they floated around his headspacewith high interests.
