《Reincarnated as a cute little wolf!》 Prologue "Urgh...." It was a normal windy day in autumn. I kissed goodbye with my fiance after an evening date. I still remember how she smiled happily as she waved goodbye at me. Also how she suddenly turned stern. I was stabbed "!!!!!!" She screamed my name and ran toward me as my sight fading away. Looking at the bright blue sky as I fell down on my back. And then... I died. The next vision I saw when I opened my eyes. I was sitting in front of a modern looking office desk. White floor and white wall...? Actually I couldn''t see the wall at all. It was just a white bright space. With a slim metallic laptop placed on the desk and a person sitting behind it. "Excuse me" I called him out of curiousity. He was facing the other side, kinda mumbling. "Ahem!" I cleared my throat and he jolted a bit. Then he finally swing his chair and face me with a forceful smile. "..." He looked like something stuck in his throat. "Where am I? Who are you?" And so I started throwing him question. I can see a lot of thing is going through his mind trying to find proper words before he speaks. Just what is this old weird looking geezer doing. "I- I''m sorry!!" Thats the first thing he said which certainly annoys me more. I stare at him unsatisfied. He scratched his head and wipe off sweat.Enjoying this book? Seek out the original to ensure the author gets credit. "You haven''t answer me" He gulped. Then I noticed a name tag with a text written [Koalemos] on his shirt. "S-sitting here means... you are dead" He softly whispered. Well of course i am dead. That would explain this bizarre looking place and how I dont feel any pain from that stab anymore. Actually there''s no visible wound on me at all. So it''s the end of my life huh. All those hard works for this short life. Just when I had the money and the power. I feel bad for my fiance.. eh.. what is her name again? I couldn''t seem to remember. What''s my name? "Actually y-you are not supposed to be dead" "Huh?" "I made a typo and accidentally sent you to the...err.. death list" What the hell is he talking about. So it was his doing that I''m dead? I let out a big sigh. I am angry. I am frustrated. But it''s not like he can return me to life, otherwise I wouldn''t be sitting here. "So what now?" I glared at him. He smiled awkwardly. "I''m sorry it was my mistake. So, how can I compensate you?" He asked. I smirked. If he is a being close to god, that means I can ask for anything right? First of all it''s his mistake that I ended up here. "Following the life book rule, a person will be reincarnated once they are dead. But they will be reincarnated into another world." He explained. "What can you give me" I bluntly asked. "I can grant you anything. Strength. Wisdom. Power." Another world? I''m not quite understand but well, I might as well just leech him off since he offered. "Then let me reincarnated into a wealthy and powerful family, with abundance of intellectual, strength, wisdom, and luck. Don''t forget to make me a very good looking person." The old geezer sighed and nodded reluctantly. I dont think he is allowed to grant these but he had to since he screwed up. "A-Alright." He answered as he is typing into his laptop. A moment later a paper appeared out of no where with my portrait printed into it. He placed the paper on the table and searching for something in his drawer. He looked confused. "Is everything alright?" I asked. Having a weird feeling. "A- err.. yeah.. i think this is it." He pulled out a seal stamp and stared at the word printed on it. He seemed unsure. I took a peek on the word imprinted on the side of the stamp as he already stamping down. It has the [wolf] written on it. And then my vision fading as I see him kinda realized what mistake he has made. Chapter 1: Hello world! ¡°wroof¡± That''s the first sound I made as I opened my eyes. In the middle of a forest. I observe the surrounding, there''s no sign of life except me. The trees beside me look strangely huge as if I am a tiny person. Not that I am a person now I sighed internally and turn my head to see the back of my body which covered in silver-ish grey fur. Looking very fluffy, soft and light as a cloud. I kind of have an idea of what I''ve become as I looked down and saw my tiny paw and the print I left on the ground when I lift it. I am a wolf... pup? That¡¯s the conclusion I have for now. It doesn''t seem like I was just born from a mother wolf. Didn¡¯t God say I will be reincarnated? Instead, I looked like I suddenly appeared out of nowhere standing with my four legs in this unfamiliar world. So I''m a wolf. Damn that God. Did he make a mistake again? Just how clumsy can he get. ¡°Oiii! God! Can you hear me!! Return me at once!¡± I shouted, hoping that he would hear me but I guess that''s a waste of energy. I''m sure that once he stamped that paper. My life has been set up. He didn''t just kill me. He also didn''t grant the wish I requested? I''m angry but moreover, I''m hella confused. Just what should I do with a body of this pup? I tried to move around but it was quite difficult to coordinates the movement of these legs. Well, I never walked on four before so don''t blame me. I swayed from left to right as I walked. My nose is sharp as expected of the animal sense. With no destination on the mind. I am tracing for other life existence. I did pick up a smell and so I followed it. A smell of human sweat. Should I just follow? Wouldn''t it be dangerous if they are hostile toward me? I decided to sneak around the bush as I trace. Walking is easier now. I have mastered this new body in no time. I can run, crawl, and jump too. It''s weirdly light to be traveling with this fury body. I feel limitless if compared to my previous human body. I can tell I have a good sense of hearing since I picked up the sound of things that are far away from my sight. Then, I picked up a ¡®human'' voice. ¡°Mira! Don''t go too far!¡± a shout from a middle-aged man sent alert to my nervous system. I quickly hid in the largest bush I see in sight and freeze. Making no movement while peeking through the leaves. This could be a death and alive moment for me. How does the human see wolf in this world? I don''t have any clue. Since wolf is a wild animal and commonly feared in my previous world. I should stay low. I can sense a little human walking toward my location. She smells sweet and her movement is quite clumsy. She made a lot of noise while walking, therefore, she couldn''t have noticed me. I should stay low and observe- Huh? Take back my words. That girl actually staring at the bush I am hiding. Does she know? It couldn''t be, right? I gulped in anxiety, subconsciously letting my tongue out while started breathing heavily. Stop it, body! I couldn''t control how this body reacts to the situation. ¡°Papa! There''s something here!¡± Oh shit! Should I run? I should run but this body feels paralyzed. It is too nervous to run. Shouldn''t I have the animal instinct and run for my life??This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. A short moment later, I feel the ground slightly vibrate as an adult human thumping his way here. My ears drooped and my tail tucked between my legs like a coward. Arrrgh is this the end? The adult human smells sweaty. The smell I picked up before was his smell. I regretted my decision for following his trace. I should''ve been more careful. What if he is a hunter. I could be shot. But I didn''t smell any gun powder like things. Did he not carry any weapon? I tried to peek through the leaves. Take a good look at the two human standing just two meters away from me. The little girl seems to be around 6 years old. She has blonde hair and green eyes just like her father. He seems to be around 40s. The father stood in front of the little girl as to protect her I guess. Carefully, he guided her to step backward by giving her a hand sign. His eyes glued to my location. Good, go away, don''t come closer I thought they were retreating but it''s not the case. Because the bush I''m hiding in suddenly split in two. ¡°Whaa!!¡± I was surprised. My animal instinct finally worked as I started to jump away. Run for my life. But then I was stopped mid-air. What what what-what. What''s going on??!!! I swung my legs in confusion. I was stuck mid-air. Legs above the ground. I''m flying? No, I''m stuck! I can feel something shrouding my body. It''s both cold and warm. It''s a very weird sensation as if I am in a hot sauna but also feel like I''m covered with the windy autumn breeze. It''s not uncomfortable but it''s not a good sensation either. ¡°A puppy!¡± The little girl shouted in excitement. I rolled my eyes to see what''s going on behind me. The adult is holding his right hand up, palm down while he looks like he''s the one who stopped me mid-air. M-Magic??? Thus I remembered what that God said to me. He did say that I will be reincarnated into ¡®another'' world. What I thought that time is just another parallel world which is the same earth but different world line. Never have I thought that it will be a world where Magic existed. ¡°P-Pardon my life sir! I mean no harm!¡± I quickly begged for life as I realize it''s no use for struggling up here. The father didn''t react to my pleading. But the daughter reacted instead. ¡°Papa, you are hurting him!¡± She stood in front of her father and raised both hands as if to stop what her father is doing. She spreads her hands left and right, making a line between me and the father. The father glanced at me and sighed. He finally lowered his hand down and simultaneously dropping me to the ground. But I still can not move my body as he seems to be still controlling me. ¡°Can I have this pup, papa?¡± The little girl pleaded. The father looked unsure but then he sighed again after taking a long stare of me. It seems like my appearance isn''t something threatening to the human. They didn''t seem to be afraid of me. Well, I am just a pup. What can I do else than a bite from this underdeveloped puppy jaw? I would''ve run if he didn''t stop me anyway. But, they do not seem to be hostile to me. Since the girl has asked to keep me. It''s actually a piece of good news for me. There''s no guarantee that I wouldn''t encounter another human or predator in this forest if I wander around. Those I encounter next could be hostile. Following them is the best option that I could think of now since they looked quite friendly. The father released the magic that''s binding me. This is my chance! I walked toward the father, carefully, as to not arise his alertness. I nudged his leg with my head and give him the best puppy eyes I could make. I hope I look cute. He stares at me indefinitely. Please please please. ¡°Please Papa please!¡± The daughter hugged the father as she pleads and also beaming with puppy eyes. ¡°I will be a good loyal pup sir¡± I pleaded as I continuously giving him puppy stare. ¡°Alright. We need a guard dog anyway.¡± The father agreed. ¡°Yaaaaayyyy!!¡± The little girl jumped in excitement. ¡°Thank you, papa!¡± She crouched down and hold me up to her chest. She hugged me so tight that I''m gonna end up stop breathing. ¡°S-stop it. I c-cant breath¡± I complained. But the hug is tighter. Am I gonna die like t-this ¡°Mira don''t hug that tight. You are going to kill the pup¡± The father finally spoke. Haahh I can finally breath The girl loosened her death hug and apologized, ¡°Ah- I''m sorry puppy¡± She then gently pat my head and scratch my chin. What''s this.. this feels so good... No, what am I doing? I should keep alert. Ahh but but... The scratches gave me butterflies and it really really feel so good that I think of the girl. She must be an angel. I will follow her forever. And that is how I''m adopted into the Wood family as a guard dog(?). Chapter 2: Gray In the middle of the forest where beautiful and lush mountains spread across the horizon. There lies a lovely townhouse in the area which only connected by a single unpaved road leading to the other side of the mountain. Although remoted, it''s not like there''s not single soul passing the road at all. Instead, there are horse carriages going around back and forth every once or twice a day. Pulling boxes of fruit in the carriages. Yes, I have been adopted into a family who runs a fruit farm. Looking at the size of the farm spread across the area. It is quite a big scaled farm. Every box they use to store fruit has the word ''Wood'' carved on it. Not that I can read, that''s what I heard from the merchants and farmers talking. "Graaaayyyy! Fetch!!" There she goes again. "Ooof!!" I responded to the command by immediately hopped away with four legs and chased after the stick she threw pass me. I caught the stick with my mouth while jumping mid-air. "Good job!!" She complimented as she waved as a hand sign to retrieve it back to her. Never have I been thought that I will be doing this kind of thing. Throwing my pride as a human being. Not that I am a human anymore. Sigh... I held the stick while running back to her. She patted my head as she continues complimenting me. "Good boy, good boy." Then, she scratched my chin. Uhh... But I don''t hate this feeling tho. It has been a month since I stayed with the Wood family. This little girl, Mira Wood, named me Gray just because I have grey fur. I don''t mind since I don''t remember my previous life''s name. Actually, I kind of has forgotten quite a lot about my previous life. My family, my friends, my lover, they all have a blurry face in my memory. Including my own look too. I remember how the previous world looks like, how the society works, and many more. But I don''t remember how I lived that life. All I know is that I have a fulfilling life, everything was perfect until that damn God killed me with his clumsiness. And then turned me into a wolf in my current life. All his sweet promises went vain. But, when I think of it. The request of being reincarnated into a wealthy family. It''s not actually wrong. I am now residing in a wealthy fruit farm owner family anyway. In a wolf body tho. So, did the request actually applied to me at all? I requested intelligence, strength, wisdom, and luck. If to observe other wolves, I do have the intelligence surpassing a normal wolf. Because the other wolves that areadopted in the farm to guard the fields are not that bright at all. I can communicate with them but they are very simple-minded. All they think is do command, get the reward, eat and sleep. I could say, I have the body of a wolf with the mind of a human. As for the strength, wisdom, and luck, I am not sure at all. I guess I should be considered lucky to have a safe place to eat and sleep. "Greeting Miss Mira. Oh hey, little gray, you look as fluffy as usual." A farmer walked pass by Mira and me while holding a big box of fruit harvest. With a big smile, the guy put down the box and head toward me. "Look at this! Gray is so smart!" Mira bragged at the farmer guy as she raised her hand toward me. She opened her palm, "Hand." She commanded. Although reluctantly, I raised my paw and rested on her palm. "Woof!" I responded.A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. "Oh my... how smart!" The farmer guy seemingly impressed as Mira looking so satisfied with her achievement. "I can''t believe how this tiny pup learns thing so fast." The farmer guy continued. Of course, I am, don''t compare me to those stupid dogs there. The farmer guy crouched down and mimic what Mira did. And so, I moved my paw to his palm. His eyes beam with surprise. As if this is not a normal thing that should happen. Well, there are a few things that I''ve learned since I came to this world. First thing first, they don''t understand what I speak at all. To them, I was probably just whimpering and barking. But I can understand their language well. I am not sure why but this is an advantage to me. I have become the Wood favorite wolf by understanding what they want and act smart. Second, the setting of this world is similar to my previous world but seems to be in the medieval era. The residents wear medieval looking dress and shirt. The housing also built in a vintage way.The living being like horses, chickens, rabbits, dogs, and fruits are the same. Except that there are additional creatures which they called ''Magical creatures''. There are goblins, slime, and even dragons. I''ve never really encountered those. It seems like they don''t lurk around the area that''s protected by the national magic barrier which includes The Wood Farm. I guess I need to learn more. Third, this world is heavily oriented in magic. Yes, magic! I''m not sure how it works but it seems like every living being has a dose ofMana that can be processed into a magical command. Just like how the father bind me before. The weird sensation I felt before was of his mana shrouding me in order to bind me. I don''t know the detail yet since I can only listen to the information they provided once a while when they converse. Mira and her half brother Ken studied magic from a tutor that comes to the house every day. Since I am not allowed inside their main house, I could only learn this much. I need to find a way in. That''s what has been my target since I came to this house. To be allowed to roam inside the house. Thus I tried my best to gain favors of the Wood family member for a month. Beside Mira, there''s the father whose name is Maven. That''s what I learned from the wife Daisy as she called her husband by his name while the farmers and merchant, of course, would call him Mr. Wood. Maven is a very strict employer but also wise. He treats his servants well therefor the servants also respect him as a result. There are only two children resides in this family. Mira and her half-brother Ken which means Daisy is Mira''s stepmother. I haven''t heard about Mira''s biological mother. I assumed that her mother might have been dead thus the father remarried. Daisy is a good wife and a loving mother, even to Mira. I can see that she''s genuinely cared for her. Not like the normal stepmother plot in the most story. I could say, this is a well-balanced happy family. Mira''s half brother Ken is only two years younger than her which is currently 4 years old. In my previous world, human baby in their fourth yearwould be just playing around while learning to converse and associate with their surrounding. But here, Ken is already be required to start learning magic. That just shows how important magic is in this world. "Mira! Come in! The dinner''s ready!" Daisy called Mira in distant. She stood at the terrace of the house calling her to come back. "Yes Mama!" she replied immediately. "See you tomorrow Grey!" Mira patted my head once more and rush toward the house. Sigh... another day ended without learning anything new. As I watch her back drifting further, she dropped her handkerchief in the middle of the rush. That''s when I was struck by an idea. This is my chance! I quickly hauled up the handkerchief in my jaw and chased after her. Mira is about to go into the house. I couldn''t bark as the cloth will be falling off and so I whimpered. But it was too late. They have gone behind the closed door. In disappointment, I subconsciously drooped my ears while sitting in front of the door. I really need to get in or I won''t get to anywhere like this! A risky thought flashed through my mind. Even though I am still tiny, a three-months-old puppy or so that they described me. I believe I can make the jump to that open window if I wanted. But, will I be welcomed? Maven, the father, seems to be satisfied with my smart attitude. I once alerted him when he has a letter fall from his suitcase. He praised me and said how it saved him. So, maybe, I will get away by this. I am returning Mira''s item anyway. So, I have an excuse. Alright, I will just go for it! Chapter 3: Cliche So I started my mission of invading the house. While still holding the handkerchief in my mouth. I walked around the terrace and observed the windows. They are tightly shut. Breaking the glass wouldn''t be a good idea. They will despise me for destroying the property let alone letting me stay in the house, I might be chased out of the farm. I shook my head and canceled that idea. I trotted out of the terrace and start circling the house to see if there is an opening.Strange, the windows are all shut. They normally would''ve opened one or two. Couldn''t find any openings. I almost gave up on this thought. But that is when I see a rat hole beneath the wall on the back of the house. The hole is not big but is enough for me to squeeze in if I dig. Curiosity draws me closer to that hole. With the tiny paw of mine. I tried digging one leg into the hole to kinda feel around. It feels like there is some space in there. Therefore I started digging the dirt to widen the opening more. I stuck my muzzle into the opening.Sniff sniff, all I can smell is dust and rust. I pushed myself in until my head finally popped out of the other side of the wall. It is pitch dark. Luckily my wolf eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness and gained vision. So, this is a storage room. I can see a lot of dusty boxes lying on the racks. I further pushed myself in until my whole body went through the hole.Pop!I rolled into the room slamming into one of the boxes. It made quite a ruckus since the box collided with another one and fell over. Crap! I hope they didn''t hear it. Instinctively, I hid behind the rack and boxes to see if there is anyone coming to this room. Although I am supposed to openly bring this handkerchief to Mira. But I don''t want to be caught making a mess. I don''t want to lose all the points I''ve gathered for a month. By points, I mean their impression of me. A short moment passed. There''s no sign of living coming toward this room.Geez, that was close. I crawled out of the rack and head to the door. Of course, it is locked from the outside. Just what am I expecting. Struck by disappointment. I turned around and about to head out of the hole. But then, my adventurous self whispered to me.Since I''m here, it wouldn''t be hurt to look around, right? It is not a big storage room. Probably can fit only three or four adults in here with all the thing scattered around. I bet this place has been abandoned for quite some time.Probably just some useless stuff.I thought to myself. I jumped on to an old desk to get a better view of this room. Since I''m tiny, it hurts my neck to look up all the time. Well,it''s not a bad thing to be a wolf. At least I didn''t end up a frog or something like that. Could have been worse. "Hmm... boxes, tools, chests, and books" I mumbled as I scan through the things that look like have not been touched in decades. The books piqued my interest. But, there''s no way I would understand the words written in it.The chests are locked and the tools are just old and rusty farming equipment. I jumped from rack to rack as I rummaged through the boxes. But it only contains papers and letters that I couldn''t read. Sigh, I wish I can read.I need to think of a way to understand their written language. The excitement I had before is gradually diminished. Sigh. I take a look around the dirty storage room once more to see if there''s anything besides ones I had scanned through. I looked above me as I aimlessly scan the ceiling. Then, I noticed something weird with the ceiling floor. The ceiling looks strangely uneven. The more I focused on the area, the more suspicious it is. It looks like some kind of a hidden door that''s not closed properly. When I re-observe the room, I noticed that on the doorknob, there is a sign of it being touched recently. There''s a sign of footprints on the floor too by judging how the dust weirdly scattered around it. A normal human wouldn''t have noticed these signs. Since I have the eyesight of a wolf. But shouldn''t wolf unable to see color? But here I can see the color just fine. It works just like my previous human eyes. But I can see further and wider. Any slight movement in my line of vision will be known to me.I wonder if the other wolf in this world also sees the same. Connecting the available clues, I''ve concluded that the last human who came into this room went directly for the secret area in the ceiling.I wonder what''s in there. The ceiling isn''t particularly high up and surely the height of the room doesn''t match the height of the first-floor wall that I see from the outside. There must be quite some space built on top of the ceiling. I jumped from rack to rack to get to the highest point of the room. When I was about to jump to the nearest rack to the ceiling. I miscalculated the landing and fell down off the rack.Thud! It made quite asound. I wriggled in pain for a while before I caught the floor reverberated by heavy footsteps.Someone coming! This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. Ijumped into the nearest box and hid in the dark. The sound of the footsteps gradually come closer until it stopped right behind the door. The silence is driving me crazy.Should I sneak out? Click Thedoor was unlocked. Slowly the door is creaking open.I dare not take any big breath.Slowlyslowly.Itry my best to not break out into nervous panting like this body used to do.Ido have better control over this bodynow.Footsteps are followed after the door hit the wall. I cannot see who is the person walking into this room and I am not planning on peeking too.But that person didn''t seem to be looking for the source of the sound I caused. Instead, she pulls out the chairbehind the desk and climbed on it, at least that''s how Iportrayedfromall the sounds I hearandI was right. From the littleopening of the box I hid in, I can see quite clearly of the ceiling area where I see a pair of hand trying to slide open the little door I was trying to reach earlier. what''s with that behavior? Stepmother, wealthy landowner,a suspicious looking potion. Doesn''t those feel familiar? Wealth. She gained power and control. Mira will lose her standing. I may be abandoned! puppy to my ear. The vocal cord hasn''t been developed maturely yet. Well, this is quite embarrassing. Gotta find Daisy,I thought to myself. relaxfor the night." Daisy explained as she hands out the teacup to Maven. I won''t let you have your way!I thought as I determined myself to knock the teacup. But I was too late. Maven has taken a sip of it before I crashed into Daisy.Shit! die!or so I thought. But, I do not see any reaction from him. Eh? Am I wrong? I must be. Maven seems alright to me. I stayed for a while and didn''t seem to hear any screaming or weird sound from the house. The sun is starting to set and the night passed peacefully. The day ended normally.
