《I Got Reincarnated Into The New World》 The Beginning of a New Story Darkness It was all Yuuto could see. Where was he? What happened? Then it hit him "I''m dead" In a rush it all came back. The squealing of brakes. The sound as his car crashed into the bushes. The sight of a rock straight ahead. Then nothing. What next? That was his biggest question. Would he just stand here forever? For that matter, how was he standing? Then he noticed it. A steadily growing light. Yuuto decided to try to walk to it, and to his surprise he found himself getting steadily closer. As he reached the light he saw it was coming through what he guessed was a door. He couldn''t see much beyond, but he could make out what he thought was a tree. Without warning a small blue see-through window apeared. "What the fuck?" Yuuto thought. The screen had a message on it and as Yuuto read it, he only got more confused. "Welcome to The New World. Your inventory has finished transfering. Would you like to enter? Yes No" The New World. It was a familiar name. Yuuto had played that game since it came out. He was ranked as one of the strongest players. What the hell, his best friend was one of the creators, yet now he was seeing it after death? This made no sense. What did it mean? Whose "inventory"? Finally Yuuto made a decision. "Yes, " he said, "anythings better than staying here" The light started getting brighter until Yuuto couldn''t see a thing. This book was originally published on Royal Road. What he had at first seen as a tree turned out to be a whole forest of trees. He seemed to be about half-way up a mountain. Below him was a large valley. There were many farms, dotted with a few towns. However beyond that he couldn''t see much. Next he turned his attention to himself. Yuuto gasped. His body had changed. Drastically. He was now in what seemed to be his teens. His height was about 7'' 6", a good 3 inches taller that he used to be. His hair was pure black, and styled in a rather unruly way. He wore a black coat that went to his knees, a black pair of semi-loose pants, and a black pair of boots, with a red highlight. looking closer he noticed the etching of wings that curlled along the sides. On his back were a red and a blue sword. after a few minutes of admiring himself, Yuuto realized something about himself. "This character is the one I created in The New World." That was the moment the window decided to appear again. "All transfers have been made. Would you like to name your character?" It left a blank space for him to put the name. What had he called this account?Itsuki? No that was for a different game. After a moment he remembered. "I chose the name Touma." "Verry well. Welcome to The New World. Many things await you Touma. If you have any questions, don''t hesitate to ask the help function." As the window dissapeard Yuuto decided to check a few things. After several tries, he discovered he could operate a status window, similar to the game window, by using his mind. Simple commands were still in place. If he said map, the map appeared. If he said inventory, up popped the inventory. The inventory itself was a wonder. all the items he had collected in the game were there. As a bonus, there was no limits placed on the inventory. The amount, size, shape, and weight made no difference! One he had checked everything out, Yuuto made the decition that he would head towards a village. There he could buy anything he needed, as well as find out a few things. Yuuto was so glad that his money had transferred weith his inventory! Yuuto quickly checked his gear, then set his sights on a village. "Let''s go!" He yelled, as he began to run. The First Day in The New World As Touma ran towards the town, he noticed that the majority of the monsters in that area were low-leved foxes and rabbits. this seemed rather strange, but he decided not to worry about it at the moment. When he reached the first town, Touma decided it must be a smaller town. There were only around 40 buildings, including the business''s buildings. After looking around for a moment, Touma entered the saloon to get a drink. As he entered he heard someone talking. "I heard Dragon is on the move again." "That damn guy! He has been too full of himself ever since he beat the Ogre''s army." "Yeah, and I was one of the ones there that helped. He only fought about 5. The rest of us had to kill the other 20." "Damn, what happend to the rest of the army?" "No one knows. They say an unknown adventurer killed most of them before we got there. There were signs of fighting farther up and several dead ogres, but no one knows for fact what happend to them." Suddenly a barkeeper said, "Hey, you gonna order or what?" Touma started. "Oh yeah, one beer please." "Comin'' right up." By the time the barkeeper stopped talking the two men had finished and left. Touma made a mental note to find out more about this Dragon, but for now he was more interested in finding out where he could become an official adventurer. A moment later the barkeeper returned with his beer. "Where can I register to become an adventurer?" Touma asked. "Try the city of Madan. They have a guild there." Was the answer. "Thanks." Touma had been hopeing for a better answer, but with his map function it wouldn''t be too hard to find the city. Touma quickly finished up, paid and left. "Map" He said. A screen appeared, showing his position. He could see some red dots, but they were just the rabbits and foxes he had seen earlier. Finally after a few secconds of searching he found Madan. It wasn''t much bigger, but it had a populaition of around 800, plus adventurers. It would take him about three hours if he ran, but Touma decided to walk. It would take longer, but it would give him time to test some skills. His fist priority was to check if his equipment was the same. This book''s true home is on another platform. Light is his to command, but only for as long as God allows. Touma checked his other gear everything else was the same, but these ''special effects'' confused him. There had never been special effects in the game. Not to mention that these were almost too OP, but what did it mean when it said ''the light is his to command "as long as God allows"'' Touma wondered. Well these questions would have to be answered another day, because it was almost dark. Touma headed for a nearby forest. He woud camp there. He knew he had some blankets somewhere...
