《Traitor's Creed》 Im Dead [Chapter 001] ''It''s so dark...'' ''Where am I...?'' ''I remember... I was at school... in the classroom...ugh! '' I suddenly encounter a sharp pain going on in my head as a light source slowly comes into view. As I flail around I notice that I''ve lost my sense of touch...Er, not just my sense of touch but also my sense of smell... Having nowhere else to go I decide to head towards the light, I don''t feel my feet hitting the ground but in my head, I''m properly walking forward. It''s a strange feeling but the growing brightness of the light ahead of me assures me that I''m at the very least moving forward. As I reach the end of what I assume to be a wide tunnel, I see where the light is coming from, A small humanoid creature standing in front of a completely empty room. Its entire body was made out of blue flames, it was small enough that it could barely reach my waist if we stood side by side... It''s kind of cute actually... " Greetings traveler " The voice of an elderly woman suddenly echoed inside of my head, I quickly flick my head to the side looking for the origin of the voice... After doing a 360 my eyes finally land on the Wisp like creature in front of me... ''Was that y-'' Before I could even finish my sentence the small blue wisp interrupted me, its tiny blue body floating upwards to meet me at eye level. " Yes, that was me. My name is Lis and I am your assigned transmigration assistant into the world #1025, named Babylon. Since it seems you''ve calmed yourself- " ''Wait, wait! hold on! This is too much info for me to process all at once! Transmigration!? As in I died and you''re transferring me to a new body? How''d I die!? What about my family? I was just at school and I-'' As I began rambling a sudden calming sensation washed over me, my frantically beating heart slowing down. As my panic was gone, the thought of how crazy the current situation was still occupying the back of my mind... " Your questions will be answered child, but one at a time... "The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. Support the author by reading it there. Right.. questions... Get my priorities right and ask the important ones first I guess ''Am I really...Dead? And if I am.. then how did I die?'' The wisp stood silent for a moment before a noticeable change occurred to its body, its flames that formed its head grew brighter, maybe that''s what it looks like when it thinks...? Cute... " Yes...And no" It''d pause for a moment before floating closer towards my face "A slight anomaly has happened between you and the world you''re about to go to, or well I suppose it''s better to rephrase myself... Your entire class physically died due to a blunder in a summoning ritual done on this side... by this side, I mean the planet Babylon " ''I see... So that means because of a failed summoning, we all died... This sucks.'' As I go to cover my face with my hands I notice something... I had no hands to cover my face with, nor legs to walk with. It was like I was a floating head! "Indeed... Right now you''re in a human''s most basic form, a soul. " ''Wait... It, Er, She can hear my thoughts?'' " Yes. In limbo, no thought could be concealed. A soul will speak it''s mind no matter what. It''s a helpful way to determine what kind of person they really are. " ''I see... what about my classmates? You said my entire class was involved so that means they should be here as well right?'' The blue wisp shook its head lightly " Only two souls managed to survive the aftereffect of the failed summoning, your soul barely manage to make it in one piece. The others are being reformed as we speak. " ''Two? Then where''s the other one?'' " He''s a bit.. problematic. He insisted on not communicating with us and stated that he did not want to cooperate with us either " ''Strange. What''s his name?'' " This one is not aware of their Earth name. Although he is Traveler E-005. And you are Traveler E-006 " ''I see. So since there''s twenty of us in class that means we''ll be labeled as E-001 to E-020?'' The blue wisp shook its head once more before flying around me in a circle once. " The numbering of your class will begin at E-005. The previous four travelers from earth have long perished and returned to the cycle of rebirth, but to honor their memory and merits, their existence will be recorded till the end of time. The same goes for your class" I pause for a moment to take it all in ''Woah, that sounds... really important'' "Of course. Interdimensional travel is only achieved by a select few. In Earth, your home planet, the only way to achieve the status of traveler is to have devoted your entire life to spirituality. At the moment of their natural death, they will be awarded a chance to transmigrate with all their memories intact but into a newly born body. You could say it is a second chance in life." The blue wisp would stop circling me, stopping at its original location "There are a few exceptions to this of course. By the off chance that an accident is caused by the mismanagement of a different world''s God then the victims will be compensated with a body similar to their old ones but improved in order to assure a long life in the other world." ''Improved how? With magic and stuff? Like those in the novels?'' "Indeed. The world you will be transferred to is filled with ''magic'' but also danger. The gifts that will be given to you are all hand-picked by the god managing Babylon to fit your personal desires and attitudes." ''My desires...'' "Your true desires. May it be for good or evil, you all will be free to do what you want in that world" As I stood in thought, a sudden feeling of warmth covered my entire body... Er, soul. My sight soon starts to fill with bright light, the soothing voice of the wisp slowly fading away. "My father wanted to leave a message for you to pass on to those you trust in your group, remember..." "The errand boy only delivers destruction..." Those were the last words I heard from her before I was completely blinded by the bright light. Welcome To Babylon [Chapter 002] After a few seconds of being blinded, my senses started to return to me. I started to hear the signs of life around me, as my vision returns completely I see my (what I assume to be) my entire class, uniform and all, curiously looking around seemingly completely unaware of the situation they''re in. I look down to my own body to check if everything was there... Black Sailor uniform, check. Stockings, check. Loafers, check. Yep, all there. Flat chest and all... As I was busy checking for all my body parts, my ponytail was tugged on. A vein probably popped up on my forehead showing how stressed out I am just because of that simple action. It''s not really the hair pulling that makes me mad but the person doing it. Only one person is brave enough to pull my hair like that and its the Class douchebag Dean. I turn around to face the blond haired idiot while folding my arms at the same time "What?" Dean pointed to the side, an uncharacteristically worried look on his face as he urged me to look. I simply roll my eyes at him before turning around, seeing what looks like a priest standing next to royalty. I guess this is the typical novel beginning where they ask for our help right..? As this thought crossed my mind, I turned to look at my fellow classmates. I wonder how they''d react if they knew that they were originally killed by their (The people of this world) mistakes... For now, I''ll keep quiet to avoid conflict with the other party. Speaking of the other party, the priest and the eldest of the royals (I''m assuming its the king himself) start to whisper with each other, a baffled look on their face as they often send glances towards our confused group. Seeing everyone eye me as if to say ''go ahead, talk to them'' I bravely take a step forward, hoping to communicate with the otherworlders properly. I clear my throat before speaking, try as I may some of my nervousness still shows.Stolen content warning: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. "Where are we, and who are you?" Haaaahh. Thank god I didn''t stutter... that would''ve been embarrassing... The faces of the priest and king quickly change into a more neutral look. The old man wearing a crown stepped forward as well as two fully armored knights behind him, I guess with all this security it means that he really might be the King... "Greetings heroes! Welcome to the mage kingdom Hearth, I am it''s current ruling king Leonidas" As the king spoke he adjusted his posture, standing straight up he revealed a tall stature, a relatively well-built body could be seen hiding under all the layers of clothing the king was wearing. Although his hair was now white, he had clear sky blue eyes and a well-trimmed beard. He extended his arms sidewards as if giving us all a warm welcome as he put on a cheerful smile. "Heroes...!? Like in the novels and stuff!?" An excited voice shouted out behind me, turning around I see that it''s one of the class'' anime fanatics. He had both hands raised in excitement as if he''s been waiting for this to happen his entire life. In response to this, Dean simply elbowed the boy in the gut to quickly silence him. Seeing that everyone else is silent, I guess I''ll continue asking questions. "Why''re you calling us heroes?" I pause as I point to the anime geek "Is what he said correct? Are you going to tell us that you forcibly took us from our own world just to beat some big bad demon king?" I stress on the term ''forcibly'' so that the situation we were in was made clear. This was pretty much kidnapping a bunch of teenagers to work for you for free. A frown appears on the cheerful king''s face at my mention of the kidnapping, he then clears his throat once to catch everyone''s attention. "For centuries our kingdom has had the honorable task of summoning heroes using the worlds excess mana, you see the more mana that accumulates out in the open, the bigger the chance of monsters being born, there is even a possibility of creating a monster so strong that it would have the ability to rally all other creatures of darkness under it and pose a threat to Babylon itself!" This... is new. This isn''t at all what I expected... "So what you''re saying is, kidnapping children from another word is the only way to use up the mana in your atmosphere? There''s no other way? Like maybe I don''t know, use all that mana to help the people already in your world? Like, grow crops and stuff?" I have an impatient tone in my voice as I ask this "And let me guess. There''s no way for us to get back to our original world is there? We just have to live our lives here forever, till we die. Is that it?" The room falls silent, the realization that they might not be able to go back to their own world finally sets in for my other classmates. "I wish we could use the mana for other means as well. Trust me my lady, but the mana naturally generated by Babylon works in mysterious ways. The summoning ritual itself was given to us through an oracle... Ever since the first summoning we''ve been researching for ways to bring the summoned back to their original world." I pause for a moment to process what he says and suddenly come to a startling realization "How long has it been since the first summoned?" The room falls silent due to my inquery, king Leonidas turned to the priest once as if to ask him a question, which the priest responds with a simple nod. "From our kingdom alone...It has been exactly eight-hundred and twenty-four years since the first ever summoned." Blessings [Chapter 003] Eight hundred and twenty-four years... His words echo within my mind as I blank out in the middle of our conversation. More than eight hundred years of research... It seems like I wasn''t the only person shocked by his words as my other classmates began to stir about, the delinquent Dean began shouting out questions that obviously had no answer. "What the fuck! Then how are we going to get home!" I continue to look around, my classmates all had the same expression of shock and disbelief on their faces as the realization started to set in... the lives they had back in earth... their parents and siblings... As I began to tear up, a calm but loud voice jolted me awake. "I''d rather skip the sobbing. Just do what you came here to do" That voice... I turn around to see one of my more quiet classmates, he had short black hair and an ordinary face, one that you could find anywhere. His uniform was always bigger than it was supposed to be so it sagged here and there. I think his name his Alex. I never took him to be one to look for conflict so I was quite surprised to see him act this way... The king in response raised a curious brow. Placing his hand under his chin for a moment to think in silence "Ah... I see we have a visitor.." The old king paused once more before asking a question which I couldn''t understand "So which are you, child? A sponsored or a chosen?" "Mind your fucking business watcher" The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. The entire class was shocked by Alex''s response, the king''s guards even hovered their hands over the handle of their blades with an angry expression on their faces. The atmosphere suddenly tensed up as I started having a hard time breathing I break into a cold sweat as my limbs start to shake uncontrollably... I see... It is a fantasy world after all... It wouldn''t be a stretch to say that the king''s guard is unimaginably strong. Strong enough to make normal humans like us shake in fear with just sheer intimidation. Amidst all this Alex seems to be fine, his arms still crossed as he stares at the king eye to eye. In response to Alex''s rude remark, the old king simply raised his hand, signaling for his men to stop their hostility "Do not be rude to our guests...bring the chalice here" With the old kings command the atmosphere went back to normal as the guards lowered their hands, that felt horrible... the priests standing behind him did a quick bow before taking out a simple wooden box. Both priests took out a key each, inserting it into the box at the same time to unlock it. With great precaution, they gently took out a golden chalice that seems to be glowing in a holy golden light. "The gods have blessed us with this chalice with the ability to unlock another worlder''s latent abilities." As he said that, a golden light begins to fill the room. Slowly condensing into wispy almost smoke like chunks of golden light slowly flowing towards each person. Soon, the gas like formations of light condensed even more to form small balls of light, the number of balls surrounding each person varied. Some had no more than two, while others like Dean had at least ten of them surrounding him. I on the other hand... The single ball of light floated gently in front of me, once the ball of light finished condensing into the size of a baseball a sudden translucent window appeared in front of me, words written in a language I didn''t understand covered the entire screen Slowly the unreadable writing began to make sense, forming into letters and words that I could understand... [ The Maiden of War and Justice would like to give you a blessing. Will you accept?] [y / n ] Almost like a game..and whats with that scary title... As I looked around I saw some of my classmates taping something invisible in the air, I''m assuming it''s the same thing as what I have... Of course, some of us are dragging their finger across the air as if scrolling down... Did Dean really get that many.. ''blessings''? Continuing to look around, I see a few people at the end of the room writing something down. I guess these balls of light are important..? As I turn my head to look back at my screen, I catch the gaze of Alex staring right at me. I reply with a glare of my own, making him roll his eyes and look away in response. Now that I mention it, how many orbs of light did Alex get? "Eh?" I let out an audible sound of confusion as I see zero balls near him. Its as if the balls of light are even making an effort to avoid him. Why? I continue to look around, counting the orbs of light surrounding my classmates..he has two, five, three, eh? That person has only one like me. After taking a minute to count the orbs I''ve come to the conclusion that Dean is using some sort of Cheats... I mean how else can he have THAT many balls of light! That''s just unfair! My thoughts were interrupted by the king''s instructions "Please choose carefully heroes, for you can only choose one God to give you their blessings. Of course you''ll gain more blessings as you grow but for now, you can only have one" Ah, I see... Well, it''s not like I have a choice in the matter since I only got one blessing... I raise my hand to quickly tap the big Y button in front of me before a sudden burst of energy seems to seep through my body. Along with the sudden feeling of overwhelming strength, my vision starts to blur into white as I feel like I''m being taken to another place. It started out as a distant sound of metal hitting metal, then it grew louder and louder, footsteps of more than a thousand people all meshed into one garbled up noise. My body tensed up as I hear the drums of war come closer and closer... A Dream [Chapter 004] The drums of war. The loud beating of the drums, the synchronized footsteps of soldiers, as well as the silent prayers those near you are muttering to themselves... As i continue to listen closely to the sounds my other sensations come back to my body, I could feel the cold touch of metal to my skin, the smell of sweat and blood, as well as my loudly pounding heart. I open my eyes to see the horizon of enemy soldiers, raising flags of different nations who''s betrayed my motherland.. ''Wait,, ''my'' mother land?'' ''Thats not right.. these arent my memories...'' ''But it seems so real.'' My thoughts were interupted by the sound of a rough, deep voice calling out to me "Matrona! The army is ready and the city has been evacuated.." Without my consent my body began to move by itself, opening its mouth to speak. A gentle womanly voice came out, a voice not of my own. It sounded more tired but strong. "Good. Then we can fight to our fullest." With those words she... No, I raised my sword and let out a mighty war cry "FOR THE MOTHERLAND!" As i shout, a bright red glow covered me and my allies as a feeling of overwhelming strength similar to what i felt back in the castle filled my body. Following my battle cry, my two thousand or so allies shouted the same thing, their synchronized voices almost shattered my eardrums in how loud it was. The loud war cries of my allies blocked off the worried voices in my head as i lead the charge towards the enemy. You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author. With both hands holding my weapon I charge bravely towards the enemy that outnumbered us atleast by ten times... Then everything went black. As i begin to regain my senses i start to hear the gentle chirping of birds nearby As i open my eyes i realize im no longer in a battlefield, nor am i in the platform that we were summoned in. Ah it was a dream When did I pass out..? Laying on a modest wooden bed I raise my head to see what looks like a simple room decorated with a table and chair with a mirror hanging next to it, as well as a wooden cabinet at the corner of the room. As i look down i notice that im no longer in my school uniform, instead I have on me a white night gown that reached down to my ankles. With a sudden realization i quickly raise the night gown to see me wearing loose cotton underwear.. Thankgod they have underwear in this world. Wanting to find something more comfortable to wear, I head towards the cabinet. As i open it I find my old uniform already washed and dried, neatly folded in the corner of the cabinet. The other clothes were a pair of matching outfits that had a dyed blue cotton shirt and pants as well as a simple leather chest plate with an image of a three headed hydra on it. It''s probably the insignia of the kingdom or something... Wait.. how do i even put this thing on..? I stare at the leather chestplate for a moment before deciding to wear the shirt and pants first as well as the pair of boots placed neatly next to the cabinet. Since i didnt know how to put the leather chest plate on I temporarily bring it with me. As i go to leave my room i notice a key placed on the table, im guessing thats the key to my room? I pick it up and head outside, locking the door behind me. Alright. First order of business is to find Alex. That guy seems to know a lot more than I do about this situation.. Is he the person that the spirit said ''didnt want to cooperate'' ? Maybe. Either way i gotta talk to him first. As i walk down the corridor I see a few doors similar to mine, Im guessing the rest of my class is in there sleeping still, or maybe they''re already awake like me. Either way I havent seen a single one of my classmates the entire time ive been walking, actually except for the one or two maids who passed by me that were cleaning I was the only one here.. Strange. Not knowing where to go, i decide to ask one of the maids. As i go to call out to one of them I notice the person have a cat tail that swished about behind them as they cleaned.. Hearing me call out, the maid slowly turned around, now that i see her face she seems to be a younger girl with a bit of brown hair peaking out of her white cap. She paused for a moment before deciding to speak "Nh, y-yes madam?" Ah she stuttered, how cute. "Im looking for one of my classmates.. er one of the people i was summoned with? I dont know what room they''re in you see." "Ahh, If its that then nyah-i can help" She answered back with a bright smile, as if she was happy to help, this kid is too cute "Nyah dont know the honorable sir and madam''s names but if you describe their faces to me i''ll know them nyah" Hngg. Besides the overwhelming cuteness of this catgirl infront of me I start to think about Alex''s face, he REALLY didnt have any discernable features other than how ordinary he looked... Ah! "He has an ordinary face and always looks tired,he also has short black hair thats long enough to cover his eyes a bit" "Ahh." The cat maid paused for a bit to think, placing one of her fingers on her chin as she tried to remember. Her tail showed alot of what she was thinging, at first it was idly swinging around while she tried to remember, then it stood straight for a moment probably when she foundwhat she was looking for, then it slowly went limp as if it was dejected... eh? Dejected? "Nyah-am sorry but uuwh.. The person you are lookin for has already left.." Tears and a Grave [Chapter 005] He already left? I sit there dazed, not knowing how to respond. It''s the first day if the new world and he already decided to leave the safety of the castle? This is strange, he MUST know something. I''m sure of it now. As I swim around in my thoughts, the cute kitty maid in front of me fidgeted about, not knowing what to do after the person she was talking to suddenly went silent. "Ahn-umm Nya-I just remembered that the king wanted to talk to your class representative~ Said it was important nya. And since madam is awake then we should go to the throne room~ " The maid casually told me something very important causing me to hang my mouth open for a moment in disbelief. "Alright.. well then lead the way.." I say in almost a murmur Seeing me finally respond, the kitty maid showed me a cheeky grin before turning around and skipping, that''s right skipping not walking, towards what I assume to be the throne room. As we walk down the long hallway, with its paintings of its past rulers, the empty fantastical suits of armor idly standing to the side, as well as the several maids whos races varied from human to straight up slime girls made me finally realize something. After all this time it only hit me now, this isn''t a dream. This is my reality now. I died and was transported to another world with no way back home. If the emotions swelling inside of me back when we were summoned could be represented by a small gust of wind, my emotions now were a raging hurricane which was about to burst out. As we stopped in front of the massive double doors of the throne room, the kitty maid turned to face me, surprised by the sudden tears streaking down my face. I quickly try to wipe away the tears using my shirt but it didn''t stop, all the memories I had from my old world kept flooding into my head reminding me that I may never go back... This sad truth made me cry actual tears, something that I haven''t done since I was a child. As I continued to cry, my knees turned weak and I had to crouch down onto the carpeted floor, continuously wiping away the tears that came out. The kitty maids surprised expression turned soft as she realized what was happening, crouching down next to me she began patting my head, speaking in a whisper like voice to comfort me This book''s true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience. "It''s going to be okay nyah~ We''re sorry for doing this to you~ But always remember, no matter what we will be your ally. As long as the kingdom is here no one will hurt you" We sat there for a few minutes as I cried and she comforted me, along the line a few more maids saw us as they passed by and did the same, comforting me as I cried.
Outside the walls of the Capital of Hearth, a boy was kneeling down onto the muddy ground, using his hands to continuously dig a hole, desperately digging as if his life depended on it. As time passed by his once clean school uniform became caked in mud and grass, his hands showing small cuts here and there due to the excessive manual digging. After nearly two hours of digging with his hands, now with a hole a few feet deep he finally got what he wanted, underneath the earth was a large wooden coffin, even though the paint that covered it was long gone due to the passage of time the wood the coffin was made out of was surprisingly still intact and in near perfect condition. With ragged breath, the boy covered in mud let out mad laughter "Hahaha! It''s here! It''s really here!" As he spoke to himself, the boy quickly pried the coffin open. Inside was the remains of what looked to be a warrior, its age similar to the gravedigger that found it. The warrior''s once shining armor was now rotten and unusable, the magic accessories that the warrior once wore now lost their light, all magic lost due to the passage of time. All that was left was a shining golden spear, seemingly still in perfect condition that the skeleton held tightly. With shaking hands he slowly went to pick the spear up from the grave, as he made contact with the magical weapon it let out a bright golden light which quickly enveloped the dark forest the boy was in. As the bright light grew stronger and stronger, it sent a wave of subtle but powerful mana that quickly covered a very large area of land surrounding the forest. Several men and women from different kingdoms including the king of Hearth himself suddenly felt their skin crawl, even the ancient beings that slumbered beneath the earth opened their eyes due to this familiar feeling. All of these powerhouses turned to look towards the same direction, a blinding tower of light that originated from the forest of darkness located at the borders of Hearths Capital. Sponsored or Chosen? [Chapter 006] Hearth castle, just outside the throne room. As I finish wiping away my tears the kitty maid next to me let out a small sigh of relief, lowering her head right under my hand to snuggle up to me just like a cat would... Ah... I''m being healed. With my emotions temporarily calmed down I stood up with the help of the kitty maid next to me as well as with the support of the other maids that stood near. It seems that this wasn''t the first time this has happened, where a summoned hero broke down and cried, hence they were trained to comfort us and help us get through our troublesome emotions. With my still reddened eyes, we enter the throne room and spot the king who¡¯s leisurely sitting on the throne whilst talking with a lanky man with short black hair. Hearing the throne room doors open caught their attention, as the lanky black hair man turned to face us I noticed his unique Asian like features that stood out from the more western faces that filled the castle. The lanky man smiled as I met his gaze, gesturing for me to come closer. Giving one last glance and a smile to the kitty cat maid I began to walk forward, the king''s old wrinkled face showing a kind smile as I stopped just a few feet away from them. ¡°Good morning your majesty..¡± I said before doing a slight bow ¡°I was informed you wished to talk with me..¡± Nodding in reply, the old king let out a hearty chuckle ¡°You woke up earlier than expected, you must have a strong soul¡± At the mention of souls I was reminded of my encounter with the wisp right before we were summoned, the wisp told me the same thing... Before I or the king could say anything else a sudden eerie feeling crept up my spine, it was as if my whole body was touched by something intangible. It wasn''t just me who reacted to this, it seems like the king and the lanky man behind him felt it too as the king''s Eyebrows shot upwards as if surprised. Moments, after the chilling presence was felt five people wearing all white, appeared out of nowhere and surrounded the king, each of these people held an ivory staff as they made a circle around the throne as if preparing to defend against an incoming attack. Several thoughts raced across my mind in the short span of time this happened. I honestly thought that the people in white were assassins aiming for the king''s life... Luckily they were his guards... where did they come from? Come to think of it I didn''t see anyone else inside the throne room aside from the king and the lanky black haired man. Wanting to ask what was happening I went to open my mouth to speak but was quickly interrupted by the king with a hand on his chin as he rubbed his beard ¡°What powerful mana...And its origins are so close... but where from.... !¡± It seems like the king came to a sudden realization as he quickly stood up, raising his arm to command the guards around him ¡°Assemble the Magistrate and send a squadron of knights towards the slumbering forest at once!¡± With a quick nod, the guards in white left as fast as they came, their entire bodies seemingly vanishing right in front of me. As startled as I was, I still had something important to ask the king so I spoke up and interrupted the two who began speaking to themselves. ¡°E-Excuse me!¡± Turning to face me, the king let out another surprised expression as if he completely forgot about me being here. ¡°Ah, hero. I apologize for the interruption but I have something important to attend to. Kato, can you please escort the miss back to her quarters. We can talk again later today..¡± ¡°Eh B-but-¡° Before I could finish my sentence I was quickly escorted out by the lanky man named Kato This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author''s work.I became frustrated as I was led out of the throne room, folding my hands and puffing my cheeks in frustration. Seeing this, Kato who was standing beside me let out an awkward laugh before apologizing. ¡°I apologize for the king''s behavior, I¡¯ve never seen him react like this before so it must be important.¡± He said as he bowed his head Feeling embarrassed about such a sincere apology i quickly told him to raise his head, telling him it was okay. ¡°Waah raise your head, please! It''s not a big deal.. I just wanted to ask a question is all..¡± ¡°A question?¡± ¡°Yeah, I wanted to know where my classmate Alex went. I was told he already left.¡± Like the kitty maid, Kato took a moment to think of who I was talking about. ¡°Ah, you meant that guy.... huh¡± Showing complicated emotions on his face, Kato began to walk back to my room while urging me to follow him ¡°That''s a bit complicated... the person himself told us not to tell anyone but...¡± ¡°But I need to know, I''m the class representative and I¡¯m pretty much responsible for everyone''s safety!¡± I tried my best not to laugh as I told my excuse. Hopefully, Kato falls for it, if not then I¡¯ll have to think of another way to find out. ¡°Ehh...ah... hmmm¡± The lanky man beside me started making strange faces as he thought of what to say ¡°Fine... but don''t tell anyone that I told you this okay?¡± I excitedly nod my head in response ¡°Okay... I trust you... Ya see that Alex kid is a bit... special.¡± ¡°Eh? Like, slow in the head?¡± ¡°What? Hahaha no no, not that kind of special. I mean his entire existence is special. Over here in Babylon, we call them either a Sponsored or a Chosen-¡° ¡°Ah, I remember the king asking him that.¡± ¡°Aye, A sponsored is someone brought to this world through other means aside from a summoning circle, usually it''s through A godlike entity sending them over. In most cases, they were already strong in their old world and was sent here to do something for the god that sent them¡± I see.. so its sort of like a student with a scholarship I guess? ¡°And a chosen is basically someone chosen by a god, instead of proving themselves through years of hard work like a sponsored, a Chosen was blessed by a god from birth so that they would grow into some super soldier that does the gods bidding. Usually, these types of people are fanatics and tend to be a little on the crazy side¡± I nod in understanding, so a sponsored would be like a student with a scholarship while a Chosen is a child from a rich family who was accepted to school through his parents ¡®donating¡¯ large amounts of cash. ¡°So which one is he?¡± ¡°That... ah, we actually don''t know. He didn''t tell us after all, he simply left without telling anyone- It¡¯s a mystery how he got past the guards..¡± I see... who knew Alex hid a secret like that- but wait, he never showed anything like superpowers back in earth... ¡°But... Alex never showed any powers or anything like that back in Earth. Is it because there was no magic in the first place?¡± ¡°No magic? So you mean there was no magic or mana in your homeworld?¡± Kato looked surprised at what I said, it seems like worlds like earth with no magic is unique?
