《Micro-Management: Survival Base》
1- A Bored Genius and a Game
This Age of today is an age of exploration, where new ideas and new dreams could take place. yet he could not feel, hear, nor see any of this dream coming to him.
Duncan put my head down on the desk and look out the window to my right. "Oh God or Goddess, can''t you make my world interesting for once" Duncan sighed
Around him his classmates murmured at how unrestrained Duncan was, visibly not paying attention in class. Despite all that Duncan did they couldn''t complain, Even if the teacher did call on Duncan, he would get the answer right, he would pronounce the correct meaning, pronunciation and syllable to the corresponding word, It was all the achievements of a genius that made everything in life appear easy.
A few people were jealous of Duncan but the person in question cursed his life. If there is nothing to excite him then naturally he would find his surroundings boring.
In hopes of curing his boredom he tried everything. He attempted to get addicted to material things such as books, games, even drugs, yet nothing could hold his interest for long, the books had plot holes that even the authors couldn''t solve, the games were just repetitive, with little to no original content. The drugs were downright disgusting to him, he pondered about how people could lose themselves to such horrid tasting items.
Next he tried finding a person to be with, any potential friends only drew blank stares when he attempted conversations with them, the few girlfriends he did have couldn''t make his heart pound or move in any way. Due to all this, he soon found it trivial to even talk to people so he just kept to himself.
The last bell of the day rang and Duncan sluggishly got up from his desk and started for home. Pulling out his phone, Duncan looked at the app store once more, as usual nothing has changed, the same boring apps that littered the front page.
Knowing that the front page was trash, Duncan decided to delve deeper into the store and under the recommended section of the page was an usual game that, for once, caught his eye.
"Hmm, Micro-Management huh? What an interesting title" Duncan murmured and he looked at the synopsis
| Micro-Management is a game bestowed upon those who seek a meaning to life, is the world to hard to live in? To mysterious? to unnatural? To Boring? Then spend your time away on managing the inhabitants of the game through thick and thin from the many events and disasters that befall them. From the tiniest insects, to the most complex AI, can you keep alive?
Warning: This is a one-time offer, if you do download this game then you are subjected to the terms and service, there will be no turning back after downloading it.
Terms: You are playing with the lives of actual people, they can make decisions of their own in the time you are gone. In the event of a wipe (No survivors) you are forced to be one of the players in another person''s Micro-Management game.
|
Duncan scoffed at the bullshit that posted in the warning and downloaded the game for the heck of it. It''s not like the game will actually suck him in or anything.
He allowed the game to download as he walked home, in the time that he got groceries from the store, admired the sunset as it went past the hills, and plop down in his room. The game had finished downloading and he opened up the title screen.
| "Welcome Den Master, Do you wish to play the tutorial? |
"Sure why not" Duncan shrugged and he pressed yes.
| Welcome to Micro-Management, a game of lives in the apocalypse, you are the overseer of the place the survivors call home, or Den as it is called. Each den has a variety of variations, some are simple dirt and mud holes in the ground while others are advanced space age space stations. You will get a random one through a lottery at the end of the tutorial.
In these Dens are your inhabitants or Survivors who are living through the middle of an apocalypse, each instance of the apocalypse will be random per Den and you are allowed any number of dens you wish to manage. Remember the more Dens you have the more responsibilities you have to face and the more chances you have at being taken into this game itself.
Unauthorized use: this story is on Amazon without permission from the author. Report any sightings.
There are three modes to this game, one is the management mode where you provide for the inhabitants, reward them for their bravery by upgrading their home for more comfortable living conditions or upgrade the residents, to have them a better chance of surviving.
The second mode is the World Mode: Your survivors have to be somewhere, it may be based on a fantasy world or world you do not know, it may be the same world, but this allows you to see any and all details in the current country you are in. Look for resource deposits, natural resources, survivors, even danger zones.
The last mode is the Universe Mode: this mode allows you to look at the universe as a whole, you can use points that you save up to buy a planet and conduct experiments on there. Create horrors that you never dream off and take your top team there. On planets you buy you are not punished.
Is there any questions so far?
|
That was a hefty explanation but Duncan understood the gist of it.
Duncan was in control of a shelter, and he''d have to adapt it or the people inside of it to the current apocalypse. It was a simple task really, Maybe this game would be boring after all though the concept was great in itself.
"No comments" Duncan said the game continued explaining.
|
"To interact with characters, simply tap on them. You will be given many options and each will be explained in time. The three most important features though are [Issue Order] [Enhance] and [Information]
Issue Order- This option will allow you to influence the survivor by mentally giving them an order, depending on their stats and afflictions of the current time, there will be a chance the order will not be followed.
Enhance- This option will allow you to grant your survivors special upgrades to make their lives easier in the hard times of their current apocalypse. All enhancements are available to you, but the compatibility between two enhancements may conflict with each other and kill the host instead.
Information- This option will allow for you to look at the information window of a survivor, this will tell you their stats, enhancements and bloodlines, afflictions or diseases, and more. It is a great help to many as it helps them plan for the future.
Is there any questions?
|
This game was starting to intrigue Duncan rather deeply, He was now earnest to start the game so he pressed for the tutorial to go forward.
|
From time to time there will be event drops that may benefit or hurt the Den, so exercise caution or suspicious details. From time to time a raid event may happen. This means another player has accessed your world, When in your world the player may do the following: Steal resources, Cause the Den to go Extinct, Make the Current Apocalypse worse, Improve the conditions of your world. and more. You also have the same capabilities when entering another''s world.
You are nearing the end of the tutorial, Since you took the time to go through it, you are allowed to choose on of the following bonuses.
Choices:
1. In addition to the 1000 starting points, you will receive a bonus of 500 points and a point multiplier of 200%.
2. You can tame up to two creatures that roam the world in the apocalypse, All needs, costs, and features will be taken care off without the use of points.
3. You will be able to choose the location of the Den, the apocalypse is not up for choosing however.
|
Duncan smiled at the messages that popped up.
"I wonder, What should I choose?"
_________________________________________________________________________________________
Hello dear readers, Its Sederance again with a new story.
I know that I haven''t been working on Frontier Online, Space Games or Creator of Worlds for a while, but here is something new to add to the schedule. If your interested why not suggest some ideas for this story?.
The choices are simple, One, Two, or Three.
2- Begin: Colony Aigen
Duncan looked at each of the choices that appeared before him and thought of the pros and cons of each.
1. The 500 additional points and 200% increase to points, Duncan had no clue how useful points are, but if 500 points were a big deal, then it must be pretty important. He could afford many things with 1500 points, and his point income would be stable. On the other hand, More points means more responsibilities as he would use those points on bigger projects.
2. Taming two beasts would ensure he had a research subject to find out about the apocalypse he might appear in. It might also offer an adequate defense system so he could focus on other places. The thoughts of cross breeding is also viable to integrate into his survivors. The downside is, it specified that it was a creature, anything mechanical like rouge robots or harmful AI units would be out of his reach.
3: He would be able to choose the location, this offered him the chance of choosing a great place to settle, It made it possible to avoid dangerous locations like an open field or a broken space station. But if he settle in too good of a place, then bandits or other dangerous people will come and attempt to take it over, costing him points to upgrade defenses and personal.
In all honesty Duncan was bored with his life, he wanted a challenge to face, Easy points would make it easier on him, Taming a beast would be taking a gamble and choosing a location he had the option of choosing a difficult starting place.
Thinking about it, the game''s aim was to have him manage a Den to ensure it is not wiped out. It would choose a location that was bad in itself but was not totally destroyed, then chose an appropriate apocalypse to coincide with the shelter chosen. If He chooses the location, then the apocalypse will be chosen as another.
Duncan grasped his head and rubbed his hair, trying to think of what to choose. Lets take a gamble he finally decided and selected his option.
| Option Two Selected: You are now able to tame two creatures, free of all expenses, as well as an instantaneous taming process. You are now entering the game, here is the following occasions.
A virus from a lab has escaped from confinement and has infected the populous. The effects of the virus mutants the bodily structure of it''s host, giving the host new powers that you are unable to understand. The powers that appear vary per host, but there is a ranking system with Rank 1 being the lowest and Rank 10 being the highest.
Welcome to the Aigen Colony: A beginning Den of survival.
Your group of survivors have barricaded themselves in a broken down train tunnel, rocks have collapsed on one side, a door opens up to a generator room, storage room, and a series of dark tunnels. The other side of the tunnel is opened up to the wild, though a hasty barricade has been put up to repel intruders.
You have a total of 20 survivors, 5 female humans, 7 male humans, 3 Insects, 2 AI Units, 1 Dryad, 2 Sahuagin.
|
The darken screen lit up after the message and I see a cylindrical room with a side room branching from it. A tall wall of rubble closed off one of the entrances of the cylindrical room. As the game said, a series of dark passage ways were connected to the side room. The side room further broke into a storage room, generator room, bathroom, and a small closet.
The cylindrical room had train tracks on it, on the tracks were 2 train cars, both of them storage cars while a third was crushed underneath the rubble. A wooden barricade was propped against leaning sticks, several ivies were draped across the board to offer partial camouflage.
Duncan observed the situation, The 12 humans were huddled together, trying to scavenge around the room, the dryad and the sahuagins were guarding the front by the barricade. he checked the area around the base and found it was near a highway, a broken down bus was nearby as well as a traffic jammed highway, mostly filled with broken cars. No other life forms for miles around. Next to the highway was a forest, the trees were spread apart to offer some vision but it was also packed so that people could not see far.
Situated in this forest was the Den he now had to manage.
"I''m glad that I chose the second option now, I can find out about these special powers and whether I can copy them. I should look at the species that are not human.
The dryad was a nature-based creature, but she required souls to nurture herself, she could provide for the group by farming, and healing, physically and ,for the boys, mentality. The Sahuagin were water-based creatures, they would require meat to continue, something the Dryad could not provide. They also needed to be submerged in water from time to time or else they would dry out. They were excellent fighters as well.
The insects were two palm size creatures, One was a Mantis, the other a Centipede. Other than that the humans didn''t really stand out, a few round people, a few thin ones, a range of tall and short. Common hair colors of black, brown and blond. The three that caught my eyes were a tall smiling and muscular guy. A medium-build lanky, kid with wild eyes, and disheveled blond hair. and a small petite girl who seemed scared of everything.
I selected the three people of interest and looked at their information.
| Connor Loveheart
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Traits: Sexist, Flirt, Physically durable, Lust Oriented,
History:
Loveheart was part of an agency that fought against the beginning stages of the Activator Virus (Named for its power of activating abilities in people). After losing most of his comrades over various missions, He escapes with his one true love, only to have her disappear. He now stays with this group to prepare himself and others around him to go and find his lost love. He is commonly called his last name due to his habit of flirting with any and every girl around his age. Though notoriously shot down for his sexist comments like "You should make me a sandwich" and "Women should stay at home and cook me food"
|
| Eric "Twitchy" Syndrome
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Trait: Enhanced Body, Single-Minded, Obsessed, Cockroach-endurance,

Syndrome was part of an agency that fought against the beginning stages of the Activator Virus, After losing many comrades over various missions he was persuaded to follow Loveheart as he promised him chocolate. He is with the group because he is still awaiting the chocolate that was promised to him. He was nicknamed Twitchy due to his tendency to not stay still, he occasionally shakes, twitches, randomly rotate parts of his body and more. His obsession with chocolate drives his life, he will do Anything* for chocolate.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. |
| Sandra Jerricho
Age: 12
Gender: Female
History:
Jerricho was a sheltered girl, who doesn''t know much about the outside world, when the virus first outbreak her family was one of the first to be hit, her overprotective parents told her to run as they sacrificed themselves. Finding Loveheart''s group as she ran away she now stays with them, seeking knowledge and a shelter to protect herself.
|
Interesting people, If Duncan take the warning into consideration, these are actual people in real life who failed the game.
Issueing orders for Sandra to interact with the insects. Duncan noticed that the group designated Loveheart as the leader, despite his negative influence over the girls in the group so he had him set up a schedule, this included a boy and a girl, along with one of the sahuagins to be at the barricade as guards. Groups to go scavenging and exploring as well as searching for other survivors and another group to repair and expand the Den.
After Duncan got that situation handled he looked around the base to see what he could do to improve it. First off he used 400 of his points to get a fresh water and salt water pond. The salt water was for washing and home to the Sahuagins and the fresh water was for drinking purposes.
Next he lit up a few of the passage ways in the smaller room for 50, it revealed a corridor with about four doors, three of the wouldn''t budge for now and the last opened up to a dark stairway, echoes could be heard from above. He granted one of the humans knowledge on crafting makeshift weapons and daily necessities. He also spawned in materials for them to use, such as upgrading the barricade which cost him a good 300 points.
Finally he chose to upgrade the generator room to include a small computer lab, with the upgrade, the two AI units that he previously had now had a place to work from. But with that he burned through all his points.
Now that Duncan was out of points he decided to investigate the two AI units that woke up.
| AI Units: Lincoln and Rosa.
Specialties:
Lincoln: Crafts AI units, knowledgeable on how to build structures and defense networks.
Rosa: Farming techniques and livestock. Capable of increasing genetic variations and successful cross-breeding.
Functionability:
Lincoln: 2% knowledge accessability (Needs a better CPU and Memory)
Rosa: 0% knowledge accessability (Requires suitable environment and body)
|
Duncan grimaced at the percentages that showed up, and that is when he realized he felt something new. "This game..... made me feel something?" Duncan was shocked at the revelation of it all. "For once I feel excitement, anticipation. Can I finally break free of this boring world?"
Duncan put the phone down and sat on his bed, contemplating on his newly emerged feelings. "Not once has a game brought this type of influence on him yet this single game for an hour at the most made him feel alive.
Should he stop playing? No that would be stupid, where else would he sense this feeling. His pace was faster than usual, his body felt funny but he recognized it as adrenaline, he actually sported a piercing headache for concentrating on the game for so long. "I should see the costs for items for the future" Duncan confirmed and he checked the list and almost fell over.
Den Upgrade Window:

....... Previous Page (1) of (100)...... Next Page........
|
Not to mention the amount of pages, but the points alone made Duncan choke on air. Although he did include some upgrades, it was low tier and didn''t cost that much points, but the points he saw on the screen can as an unexpected surprise, Duncan has yet to know the point yield of his Den and that was when he remembered the first option, if 500 points was a big help, then what kind of progress did he miss?
"Points are everything in this game" Duncan sweated.
Duncan heard a knock on his door, distracting him from the game and a voice calls to him.
"Duncan dear, come down for dinner, it''s your favorite" a womanly voice announced.
"Coming mom, let me just put away my phone first" Duncan replied... after tasting all kinds of exquisite foods, he sort of lost the taste for food, almost everything seemed bland to him so nothing could really be called his favorite, but if he knew that his mom had made the steak cooked medium well, a dash of Himalayan salt on the steak and a side of corn, carrots, onions and peas.
Taking one last look at his phone before he set it down, Duncan got up and left for dinner.
Hello again dear readers, I am glad to see the enthusiasm of everyone for this series, Duncan wants a challenge, so why don''t we suggest some challenges for him, leave a comment below if you want to contribute :D
On another note, I should be able to pump out another chapter of one of the other stories by tomorrow if not the next day, so this series will be getting a chapter after that. Kudos to you all and please support the author by sending praises and compliments

Short Story 1: Base Raid
Duncan sat himself down at the table, his parents sitting on one side of the table while his elder sister was tapping away on her phone.
"Laura, please put away your phone when we eat" Duncan''s dad asked and Laura ignored him.
"Laura, listen to your father, I don''t have to ask you again" the mother said softly, and with a roll of her eyes and a groan Laura put her phone on the table.
"Anything else you want to tell me" Laura said sarcastically.
"Come on Laura, why can''t you be like your brother, see how he is sitting there ready to eat dinner.. Without any problems" the dad pointed out and Laura huffs. "You see as a huge disappointment don''t you, compared to him I''m nothing" Laura exclaimed and she stormed off.
"Laura its not like that" the mother calls and she gets up from the table and chases after her.
Duncan''s eyes followed both of them and then he turns to look at his dad who shrugs and takes his portion into the living room.
Duncan was glad that he didn''t have to eat dinner at the table, he wouldn''t have to act like he was actually enjoying life. Taking his plate into his room, he looks onto his phone to see a creature attacking the newly improved walls.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, What is that thing?" Duncan exclaimed.
The creature were huge invertebrates that were commonly labeled as centipede, unlike the one in the colony, this one was a monstrosity, it would tackle the barricade attempting to get in while the mouth part of the creature drooled out a corrosive liquid.
Duncan didn''t want to waste one of his two taming charms on the creature so he influenced the people to stop cowering in fear and start attacking it.
To get Syndrome to attack the creature was easy, just whisper into his mind and say, "The creature has chocolate, kill it and you shall find"
With an outburst of chanting "Chocolate", Syndrome launched himself into the fray. The others were more reluctant in joining but when Syndrome tore a part of the creature''s body off, their morale increased significantly.
Duncan sat back and watched the show, analyzing the attack patterns of the creature, first it would rush forward in a charge, the jaws grabbing anything in the way. then it would coil itself in a defensive position and eat the thing it grabbed. if it didn''t grab anything then it would search for another target to charge at.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
In total the lost creatures included 1 male and 2 female humans, with many more injured.
The two sahuagins and several of the remaining uninjured humans dragged the creature in, and a total of 5 points rolled in for defeating the [Rank 1: Lesser Acid Centipede]
Duncan was mildly taken back by the amount of points he received. All that for only 5 points?
Duncan chose for the three remaining females to remain inside the base at all times, they were not allowed to leave in fear of them dying off.
He unlocked the door for one of the rooms and he changed the empty space into a minor laboratory for 200, It had some of the most basic equipment and none of the advanced stuff used for analysis. He then used the remaining 55 points to give one person biological knowledge and tools for research.
"Alright, show me what this thing is made up of" Duncan smiled and he ordered the person with biological knowledge went into dissecting the creature.
"Now that everything has settled down, no creatures in the perimeter, lets get a status report, [Give Base Status]
| Aigen Colony: Tier 1 Base
The barricade is mildly damaged, signs of wear and corrosion are spotted on it, 3 dead humans, 4 injured humans, and 1 injured sahuagin.
Results of the last hunt include:
3 deers, 2 birds, and some edible fruits.
Food stock: 29 days
Water stock: 3 months
Points: 0
[+29 from last hunt]
Grand point counter: 29
Interesting facts:
Sandra has befriended the insects, they are capable of breeding.
The Lesser Acid Centipede has unfertilized eggs.
Scouts have reported that there is a hive nearby, it has been seen that captured people are brought into the hive by dragonfly-like creatures.

Sorry for the short chapter, I had been studying for my PSATs and that took its toll on me. Hope this satisfy you guys till I can get an official chapter out
3- Growth: Base Expansion.
Duncan took the information her gained and had everyone go to the eggs, the males anyway and inject their sperm or "seeds" into them.
| Lesser Acid Centipede eggs: Chance of hatching (10.8% overall)
Number of eggs: 63
Calculations based on A.I. Rosa: Variants included:
Centipede: 25%
Mantis: 12% [Lesser Poison Mantis] [Lesser Razor Centipede]
Sahuagin: 3% [Aquatic Centipede] [Minor Poison Sahuagin]
Humans: 0.18 % [Acid-blood Human] [Sentient Centipede]
Approximated hatch time: 24 Days (Time conversion to real time: 3 days)
|
Duncan calculated the percentages and looked at each of the variants.
The centipede eggs had about 63 eggs but only about 6 of them would hatch. of those 6, about 1 of them would be a one of the mantis variants, 18% chance of one becoming a sahuagin variant and the humans would have a chance of about 1.08% for one of their variants.
The rest of the centipedes would be a Lesser Acid Centipede, taking natural instincts into account, the centipedes would start fighting to eat each other. He would have to separate them on birth in hopes of capitalizing from this benefit. He could then use Rosa to gauge their growth potential now that they had some "livestock" if they can be called that.
Duncan ordered people to fix the walls, and also to get the girls pregnant, He may be getting 6 centipedes but what he needed was able-bodied humans. There was also the dryad and the female sahuagin, but he left the male sahuagin to get them done. He had the three girls, scared at what they had to do, gather into a room, and he selected three males to accompany them.
Duncan chose the other three males to scout out and expand the Den. Once the eggs hatched, if they do, then he will need a place to put them. He ordered them to move the rocks from the collapsed tunnel to make a basic wall. There were holes in the wall, nothing big enough for anything to get through, but Duncan ordered them to reinforce and block these holes because if a centipede became a monster the size of a horse, then what type of creature would appear next?.
Duncan checked on the females, and they were gasping for air, moaning as the three males drilled them. Sandra had tears falling from her eyes as she tried to crawl away from it all, but she couldn''t physically resist. Syndrome just kept chanting chocolate as he plunged followed the orders I gave him, his partner screamed in pleasure as a result.
The salt water pool was bubbling and splashing about, and Duncan knew the two sahuagins were getting it on, meanwhile the Dryad was waiting by the pools edge, waiting for her turn.
Duncan closed his phone and called it a night. He would check on how things were going in the morning.
POV: Sandra
I laid there, cold, naked, violated. I couldn''t move my body, filth covered from especially from down there. The girl next to me was still going, screaming out for more before gasping and screaming with pleasure.
I wanted it all to end, for the male in front of me to leave me alone, but I knew he was being driven by orders, the same voice ordered me into this room to go through this hell. I gripped the ground, I attempted to crawl away but I felt the disgusting rod insert itself in me again.
It hurts, IT HURTS. I attempted to scream out but no sound came. I felt the tears streaming down my eyes again and I tried to kick him away. The male took the hits like it was nothing and continued to plunge my pussy. I could feel the liquids entering my womb. The blood of my first time had already dried staining us both.
I just closed my eyes, praying for anyone to help me, I remembered vaguely on the insect colony I was raising in my Den, before a fire element beast came and destroyed everything, burning all my precious insects to ashes.
The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
In the darkness of my shut eyes, thinking as my body was ravaged. I contemplated what I could have done to change the outcome of all this, who the player of my world is now? What reason, purpose, or goal did someone in their own twisted mind would do this to any of us.
I thought long and hard, the pain from the person roughly jabbing his penis into my body, helped stimulate any painful thoughts I could associate with it. It was quite a while before the hell stopped, my body unmoving as if lifeless itself, my mind partially broken, yet still enduring, my sight, hazy and unfocused.
Next to me a girl smiled in her sleep, and beyond her a girl who was tied up in some sort of BDSM play yet left there for her own devices.
This world is a twisted place, how I long to go back.
Duncan awoke that morning to find the couples still going at it. "The instincts of animals" he muttered and he ordered them all to stop and wash up. He was disgusted about the state of how the females were treated, left naked, covered in cum and thrown to the side as if abandoned.
He wasn''t one for dealing with human relations, but he grew up learning that this type of abuse was simply unacceptable. That aside, Information states that all three of them were pregnant and was expected to give birth in about nine months, which can be shortened by a growth elixar, though the cost was a bit much, 1,000 points to decrease the time it required to birth a baby, and 10,000 for a permanent boost.
Checking on the AI Rosa, with introduction of the "livestock" and a suitable area to grow them had increased her accessibility by 3%, the basic walls Duncan had the other males built increased Lincoln''s knowledge by 1% making both of them at 3% knowledgeable. They haven''t attempted to speak to the others but he is sure that is because of the lack of speakers and a good processing unit.
The female sahuagin and the dryad, named Khe''Shera and Ambrosia respectively, both were napping in the shallow waters, Duncan had one of the humans move Ambrosia as salt would damage her systems, sadly both of them were not pregnant despite the ordeal they went through.
Checking the inventory of the base, Duncan saw that he had several left over blocks of wood and stone as well as cement, a few cloth and fabric sheets, sticks and branches, as well as wires and metal parts. What he needed was seeds for growing and Duncan looked around the area that was revealed to him, wide flat grassland cut by a highway, one side of the highway housed deep woods with mountains, the Den was located in these mountains, and further along, a hive was being built, all types of meat, fresh and alive, or dead and decaying, were being brought to it by dragonfly-like creatures. They had the wings and body of the dragonfly, yet its body was a luminous purple, they had visible spikes along the back of their body. judging from how they take things into their mouths and ripping them to shreds, their bite and leg strength was worthy noting.
The abandoned cars on the highway offered some protection from the dragonflies yet Duncan had seen a couple of dragonflies picking up a car to grab a man to take to the hive. His screams that day still made the scouts uneasy. Duncan had the hunters stay in the base and craft better weapons, as soon as he hatched and cared for the eggs, he knew what he was going to do.
"We have to eliminate the hive before it posses to much of a problem on my development" Duncan smiled, thinking up of all the ways he could go about this.
Sorry for the short chapter yesterday, my SATs were killing me, all that studying for such a test.... whooo glad thats over.
Now we got some interesting development in this Den of Duncan''s, and now you guys get to help him too.
Vote above and see how you influence the story line.
4- Expand: Invade the Hive.
In the real world, Micro-Management was Duncan''s only solace in the boring world.
In the two days that he had to wait for the eggs to hatch, Duncan had fought against more [Lesser Acid Centipedes] as they probed his Den''s defenses. The sounds in the stairwell grew excessive at times, sometimes the door leading to the stairwell jarred from shock as something kept ramming into it. Measures have been taken to barricade the door as of now.
Duncan kept thinking about what could possibly be on the other side of the door. He knew the creature couldn''t have a way to open the door, hence the ramming but this creature knew that there were good things for it if it did get through the door.
Points from the hunts in the morning, afternoon, and evening of the two days had accumulated into a total of 43 points, and five of those points came from a [Lesser Acid Centipede] that the survivors killed in the raid. Luckily they learned from the past experience and no one managed to die.
Finally for the moment of truth, from the cluster of 63 eggs, about 8 of them wiggled. Duncan watched intently as the eggs started to crack and hatch. From these eggs 8 centipedes hatched. He checked the information window of each centipede as Duncan couldn''t tell if a variant has appeared and after checking a few of them he checked the information on a centipede and something interesting showed up.
| Rank 2 Sentient Centipede
Name: [Unnamed]
Age: 10 minutes
Trait: M [Single-Minded, Reckless] F [Obsessed, Enhanced Body]
Growth Potential (Courtesy of Rosa): 39%
Extra: Born from a human and a centipede, this creature has the body of a centipede but is aware of itself like a human. The traits it inherit from it''s mother and father, this rascal is reckless, only thinking about it''s obsession, and it''s enhanced body allows it to withstand hits.
Mother: Lesser Acid Centipede.
Father: Eric Syndrome
|
The chances of getting this variant was so low, Duncan might have considered that he spent his entire life''s luck on this single creature. "Interesting, interesting, but what are traits exactly? Can I find out what they are?"
"Help: Traits" Duncan said as he wondered how the traits worked in the game and an explanation popped up.

Traits determine the individuality of a survivor in the den. Whenever breeding between two survivors occur, they pass half their traits to their offspring. In some instances, a trait may change depending on actions or mindset of a survivor. These changes occur as they are growing or traumatizing experiences as well as how well a survivor copes with a situation and actions on overcoming a particular trait.
|
Duncan looked at the traits of each of the centipedes and he put together the traits that the lesser acid centipede had. [Single-Minded] [Reckless] [Sense Heat] and [Scent Driven]. Sense Heat allowed the centipede to locate their Den, which would explain why it attacked. Since they were situated in a cave, no natural heat signatures would be given off, but since humans are warm-blooded, the centipedes followed the heat. Scent Driven can be interpreted to the attack that happened a few days ago. If the first centipede had sprayed a chemical agent, then the other centipedes could follow that scent and therefore find the Den.
Duncan looked at the 8 centipedes, each separated from each other in fear of them killing each other.
The centipedes cried out, their satiety low as they wailed for food, and finally they were fed, the morsels of deer and wild dog.
The eggs that didn''t hatch were fertilized again, the sentient centipede included despite how young it was. With a centipede of it''s own species, the chance of hatching was raised from 25% to 75%, and that would mean more Sentient Centipedes would appear.
The centipedes grew, Rosa began calculating some results on selective breeding and showed the best possible route to take for the centipedes, they could be raised as mounts and shields if interbred with [Tough Body] or [Enhanced Body] traits, As for the Sentient Variant, [Sense Heat] and [Scent Driven] would make them excellent scouts.
Duncan had the centipedes fight with each other and ruled out the weaker ones from the breeding pool. The sentient one became more and more aware of itself and as observed, started to formulate plans on how to overcome it''s opponent. After the fight was over the girl Sandra was sent in to patch up and care for the wounded. The centipedes were wary of her at first, some even tried to attack her, but a quick order was given and they backed off, some were reluctant to let such a meal pass, but Duncan killed one randomly.
The centipedes were shocked at the outcome but when they attacked again another one was killed. As for a third time, the other centipedes attacked the one that was attacking, nearly killing it.
Truthfully Duncan was contemplating whether his strategy was good, He randomly killed two potentially good centipedes, but all in all, the centipedes had learned that attacking Sandra came with dire consequences. The 6 remaining centipedes surrounded Sandra and waited.
As time passed by to see which side would move first, the people at the wall cried out in alarm, the Dryad was screaming loudly, as a Dragonfly swooped down and grabbed her. Taking her back to the hive. Duncan growled in anger at the loss of a valuable asset, but he couldn''t be weak now. So he moved his plans further ahead of schedule.

Duncan passed the time quickly, waiting for a sizable army to grow. Within 6 days, a total force of 17 centipedes, one sentient centipede, one poison-blood human, and two lesser acid mantises were born and raised. Of the 21 newborns, all of them were ready for combat with the exception of the poison-blood human.
The points from the various hunts during the days had brought a total of 103 points, and the wild lesser acid centipedes were beginning to become more and more aggressive. Duncan normally won against the centipedes, but he would occasionally lose one or two of his hatchlings who were growing up to fight, thus bringing his forces to the 21 he had.
As for the base, the corridor with the 2 rooms were nice and tidy. The science room was being worked on trying to understand it, The hatching room was where all the fertile eggs, and pregnant people were located, The generator room is functioning properly, Lincoln had increased his accessibility to 5%, while Rosa with the addition of the centipedes was at 7%.
Duncan gave the knowledge of weapon making and set up a specialized workshop for such, costing him all his points. Luckily the remains of the iron tracks from the railroad could be salvaged and converted, as well as the deer hide and bones.
Outfitting the group for an attack, Duncan had left the scientist, the crafts-smith, and another male to be left behind while the other three were sent out to fight, the sentient centipede, and poison blood mantises were left behind as well while the 17 other centipedes were ushered toward the hive of the dragonflies.
The centipedes swarmed the bottom of the hive, entering through the bottom, the three humans closely following behind. Loveheart was leading the way, spear in hand leather armor protecting his vitals. After some orders he went in.
Loveheart POV:
I recieved the order as soon as the latest batch of centipedes grew.
| You are to attack the hive today, lead your forces well |
I gulped once the message popped in front of me, I wanted to disobey it but my body already moved me to grab my spear and armor.
"Might as well eliminate the threat now" I thought to myself, I saw that Derek and Henry were joining me, the two non-specialized people. "Ready to go out and do some hunting?" I asked flashing them a smile and they both reluctantly smiled back before following my lead.
The centipedes were rowdy, they could sense that they would be able to go and kill, and that put them into a frenzy. "If only Favor was here, What would she do" I said under my breath and looked at the centipedes, before having Sandra release them.
Sandra was slumped over in a gloomy mood when she did release the insects, and she gave the order "Attack the Hive"
The centipedes with the [Single-Minded] trait immediately rushed out of our Den and rushed toward the hive.
"A good distraction, quickly, follow them and make use of their sacrifice." I ordered and charged alongside the others.
Upon the raid site, the five Single-Minded centipedes were already reduced to two, but the corpses of a few dragonflies were strewn about.
"Derek take one of the dragonflies back to base, have Arnold examine it." I said to him and with a salute Derek left with a relieved face. Leaving the two single-minded behind the rest of our forces entered the lower portion of the hive. As we entered I noticed the ground was very soggy. "Great place for the Sahuagins right?" Henry joked and from a hole above, a Dragonfly bit Henry and pulled him into the hole, his screams Reverberated inside the hive. I ordered the centipedes to stand guard and attack any movement. An we slowly progressed, We collected some eggs for later taming.
Progressing through the hive, I fought against many dragonflies, I pierced the abdomens of the insects, I smashed them into the wall. I witnessed some of the centipedes biting the dragonflies in half and vice versa. The carnage of going through the hive was taking a heavy toll on our forces, of the 12 centipedes that entered the hive with me, about 5 of them were left.
In the center of the pod a huge mound of dead bodies were strewn about, and a large dragonfly queen was sitting there, laying her eggs in the water, while the larva ate the bodies floating on the surface of the pond.
"If we had the Aquatic Centipedes this might be a bit better, but CHARGE" I ordered and I rushed in alongside the remaining centipedes that hadn''t died in the battle.
As soon as we did show our face though, the water erupted with dragonflies, the walls also became alive as dragonflies dropped down from the walls and ceiling.
Oh..... crap" Loveheart exclaimed as the swarm approached his group.

Being on the Other-Side
Loveheart followed his instincts, he ran like a coward. The four centipedes waiting for their commands stayed, but a few of them followed after Loveheart. The two left behind did their best to fight off the swarm but they were quickly torn apart.
Loveheart passed a tunnel, narrowly avoiding the dragonfly that lunged out, he couldn''t say the same for the Centipede that was following him.
Another centipede decided to stay behind and stall the dragonflies as best as he could as well.
Loveheart emerged from the side of the hive and just kept on running, the dying screams of the last centipede was heard as it didn''t make it out in time.
Running along the highway Loveheart frantically made his way back to base but tripped on a decayed corpse. A dragonfly swooped down to grab him but it was thrown to the ground by a centipede.
The single-minded. he had forgotten about the two. He ordered them to cover him as he flee and the centipedes followed after him.
Finally, after avoiding the dragonflies Loveheart got back to the Den. Derek ran over to Loveheart and asked "Hey what happened?, where is everyone?, did you subjugate the hive?"
Loveheart looked up, panting. "No.... we almost got annihilated" The sound of wings were heard and the wall that barricaded the front of the cave shuttered, as if something collided with it.
"Crap they followed us back, Tell everyone to prepare to fight, except the girls they need to rest."
Derek nods and he rushes to get everyone.
Duncan looks down at his phone, He tackled the hive to early, his scouts only told him that a few dragonflies were entering and leaving the hive day and night, he didn''t know that the majority of the forces were protecting the queen.
"I should have thought of all the possibilities" Duncan groaned.
From the aerial view of around his base, it looked like the entire hive was attacking. With the forces I currently have, I wanted to save the acid mantises for later, the sentient one would be a huge loss as well. The Humans were needed and the sahuagin added diversity. Duncan sighed to himself, everything wasn''t expandable, the only ones he was willing to give up was the newly born centipedes, all of them were regular lesser acid so it wouldn''t have been a huge loss if he sent them out to fight.
Much of the materials were used to set up a spiked barricade to prevent the dragonflies from entering, The few points he got for them eliminating the dragonflies in the raid allowed for some minor purchases but I looked toward the eggs and my available points.
231 points: Duncan could do a very dangerous radioactive enhancement on one of his survivors, the fatality rate for this was 95% but adversely of reason I needed something powerful.
Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings.
Duncan decided to take the gamble and the newly born centipedes as well as a mantis were put a room. He then nuked it with 200 points of Radioactive enhancement.
The centipedes cried out as one by one they died, the group of 6 centipedes were no more. As for the mantis is just froze, it''s body was turning to stone until it became a stone statue. Duncan sighed in disappointment, the gamble just decimated his forces and now he lost points too.
Everyone was frantic, Sandra was crying, hugging the last remaining centipede within the group, the eggs for both the centipedes and dragonflies were of no use in this siege.
He could make a wall to stop the hive from advancing but then he would lose the farm land and pasture outside. He could try the door but he remembers that something tried to get in between an army and an unknown danger, he had a better chance of fighting the unknown then grasp a 1 in a trillion chance of winning.
Duncan sighed as he made up his mind, he made a wall to block the barricade, and gave the order "Try the door best chance of getting out" I recommended, everyone was hestitant but now that the door tunnel was sealed the only way was remove the rubble to clear the rest of the tunnel or they could take the door.
Derek''s POV:
The atmosphere was grim, the hive on top of us and no way out with low supplies, man it just sucks. I didn''t like being encased in this stuffy underground tunnel, my base was a moving nomad circle, if one area was dangerous then the people I commanded could move to a different location, I had a few harpies and bird people and a few good animals to pull the weights but I was unlucky to encounter a bandit clan that chase down their prey to the last man.
My survivors were killed by exhaustion from running or slain by the bandits.
Man I couldn''t take it anymore I abruptly stood up and grabbed a spear heading down the hallway. "Hey where are you going? a girl called and I looked back at her. "Testing the waters, I hate being holed up, you shouldn''t worry about me just deliver that baby and live on"
Man trying to be cool in my final moment I thought to myself. I approached the door and opened it, Spear pointing up and looking around.
It was dark, the only light source coming from the door behind me and..... wait two light sources?
I looked up into the darkness and saw some flashing lights, eccentric designs that captivated me. I notice it growing closer and closer before it stopped some feet away. The lights flashed and everything went dark for me.
Extend Tunnel
Duncan looked to see Derek being dragged into the darkness, stunned by the sudden flash of light.
There appeared to only be one of the glowing beasts but he had to be wary of more since they were hidden in the darkness. If only he had a [Heat-Seeking] trait centipede then the number of enemy personal would be easily found out.
The sentient centipede has an idea and crawls forward to the rock slide that blocked the tunnel, it pries some of the rocks loose and motions for people to grab the metal from the railing.
Loveheart caught hold of what the centipede wanted to do and grab a piece and slide it above the opening, while someone else propped up the sheet of metal.
A minor opening was made and a notification on Duncan''s screen popped up.

[Train Tunnel: Extended] Unlocked, Leads to three potential areas, Danger levels: unknown.
|
Duncan looked at his survivors, three pregnant females, four males, two sahuagin, one mantises, 1 baby, 1 centipede. 1 lesser acid mantis, and one sentient centipede.
A total of fourteen survivors in the den.
Syndrome would have to go in. This is what Duncan decided to do, though others could go if they wanted to, Syndrome was required to go.
Duncan watched as Syndrome prepared his gear to advance forward, The sentient centipede reared on it''s hind legs, also wanting to go. Sadly it was just the duo that was going, everyone else was reluctant to leave, but the swarming of the dragonfly hive outside was slowly getting on their nerves.
Duncan watched as his people suffered. He was a genius, why wasn''t everything turning out good?, why was he losing people one by one. Duncan grew afraid of what might happen to him, Sure he might be over-thinking this but what if they did take him into the game, to die a gruesome death.
Duncan put down the phone and just sat in his chair and just thought for a moment.
His mind wandering to outside his room, letting it freely drift. Forgetting everything that was happening at the moment,

Sentient Centipede''s POV:
The energetic on, my father apparently, was chosen to go on what seemed to be a death mission. I knew my father was strong, but not the brightest light in the world. Actually he was pretty dumb. I felt oblige to help my father but pointing him in the right direction so I chose to follow him.
Sandra gave me a sad look as I left, as if she would never see me again, but I wanted to assure her that we both would return and with some great supplies as well. I knew that Sandra was sad about the rushed death of the newest batch of centipedes so I went up to her and snuggled her a bit before nodding my head and going with father.
I decided to go first through the passage to scout out any dangers that Father may have The other side of the passage was more railroad tracks, and the rest of the train. The appearance of what was left of survivors was shown, bones and a single decaying body. I went further to find a barred door and two collapsed tunnels. The rest of the train included 4 rail cars which appeared to be living areas, and the locomotive engine.
I scouted the train while Father obsessed himself over chocolate that was secretly hidden.
AFter checking out the train I listed the things that we had found: Coal, Working Engine, Change of clothes, Medi-kits, Water containers (no water) Utensils from the dining car, A working stove and oven and microwave. Words learned from descriptions of what people wanted. They all will be happy.
Danger level was almost non-existent, but that doesn''t mean that there wasn''t any danger. I went around searching for it, probably a bad idea if you thought about it, but all I could think about at teh time was Father''s safety.
Syndrome''s POV:
Chocolate?
Chocolate, is there chocolate? I smell chocolate.......
FOUND YOU. CHOCOLATE!!!!
*proceeds to eat all chocolate*

Merry Late Christmas and a Happy New Year
The Light in Darkness
Duncan awoke from his daze, his body ached from staying in a fetal position for to long. Shaking his head Duncan looked toward the phone that he threw aside and saw the gains from the train tunnel.
He was ecstatic about the stove and oven as well as a dining car. He ordered for the males to move the cars to make a campsite, it was basically the stone wall, with the train cars forming a barrier on each side, in between each train car was a gap that people could enter and exit.
Duncan looked toward the breeding grounds to find the women groaning as the time for giving birth was drawing near, a few of the eggs were also going to hatch soon, Dragonfly hatchlings were nymphs that required water so he had to transport them soon or risk them dying out early. He also needed to find them meat.
The engine was moved to the workshop and it was helpful in smelting new weapons. No longer the days of modified railroad tracks, now it was actual swords, spears and armor.
Duncan was beginning to feel relieved, no more losses, just need to rebuild his den and experience no more losses.
Duncan turned his phone off and went to sleep, hoping for the best the next day.
Rosa looked at the new dragonfly eggs and started to calculate the results
Spiked War Dragonfly x Human : 7% fertility rate: Crossbreeding: Spiked War Humans 2%/Sentient Dragonfly: 3%.
Spiked War Dragonfly x Lesser Acid Mantis: 40% Fertility Rate: Spiked War Mantis 25%/ War Toxin Dragonfly 30%/ Imperial Dragon-Mantis 0.5%/ Blade Dragonfly 10%/ Scythe Wing Dragonfly 14%/ Sky Reaper Mantis: 0.5%.
Spiked War Dragonfly x Sahuagin: 13% Fertility Rate: Water War Dragonfly 15%/ War Sahuagin 25%.
Spiked War Dragonfly x Lesser Acid Centipede: 40% Fertility rate: War Centipede 13%/ Spiky Armored Centipede 23%/ Acidic Dragonfly 30%/ Venomous Dragonfly 40%. Armored War Dragonfly 15%.
.
Andre , the scientist boy, had gathered some materials and tried to research how to transform some of the substances into usable objects. The addition of the oven and microwave could boost research. but Andre had to reserve one of them for food use so he chose the microwave as his equipment.
Mark was busy rewiring the room so that the working engine would help power the room and help with both incubation and heating.
Mark after finishing with it he was passing by the CPU stations and saw Lincoln computing a defense network that could prevent the dragonflies from entering. The problem of the dragonflies was that they were always trying to strip away the wall that seperated them, now that they had a working engine he could make a heat net, it would be able to keep the dragonflies away but the heat could also make the Den uncomfortable with everyone sweating.
Mark decided to start to build it, he found suitable wiring from the train cars as they would not need the wires anymore, He started to work on it.
Duncan woke up to find the women growning and ready to give birth, a few of the eggs were hatching as well,
Duncan grew excited about the growth in population, he also noticed the defense network that Mark was building with the help of Lincoln. Duncan grew hopeful.
The women were lying in the breeding room and the first girl, Tina groaned, she was yelling out as the other girls stayed by her side. The Sahuagin female had moved her to the pool of water to help the baby come out more easily. It took a full day for the baby to come out and it was a boy.
| Congratulations Tina Alamontie gave birth to a baby boy, he is of good build and strong vitality
[Traits] Physically Durable, Lust Orientated, Careful, Klutz
Growth Potential: 45%
A strong baby, he is careful and durable but since he is a klutz he won''t be able to handle weaponry that well. He is also lust orientated so charm traps will be able to undermine him.
Mother: Tina Alamontie
Father: Connor Loveheart
|
After the birth of the child the mother decided to name him Ryan, Tina looked at the child with love and cuddle with the crying baby and went to nurse him, People came to move her into one of the cars and help make her comfortable, the rest just waited for more events to happen.
The next births were the eggs, this time around 3 centipede eggs hatched, 2 regular Lesser Acid Centipedes and 1 Aquatic Centipede. Alongside them were 2 Dragonfly eggs both of them were Spiked War Dragonflies.
The other girls were not ready to give birth and Duncan was relieved that his forces grew.
He ordered for a Loveheart to start training everyone for combat, with the exception of the females since they needed their rest.
Stolen novel; please report.
He also wanted to scout out the dark area where Derek was taken so he had Sandra send the small Mantis and Centipede, their size would not draw attention so they were perfect for scouting.
He also needed to go find a way to get out of the den so that his people could hunt not only for food, but for points that he could spend. With the dragonflies monitoring him 24/7 it was nearly impossible to leave the den to do anything useful.
Thankfully with Mark working on the defense network he might be able to slip people in and out of the wall.
Duncan only had 17 points left, a single point was worth a few in-game days of food and with the amount of time with the amount of people inside that were trapped, it was draining fast.
He was thankful for the refilling pool of fresh and salt water, he also wanted to upgrade the CPU so that he could draw out more information of both Lincoln and Rosa, but he also needed fuel to keep the computers running or else the two AI could be lost forever. With the addition of the engine he extended his limited fuel from a couple of months to about a year or two with the addition of the coal car. Of course they would not last long if there was no one to refill the engine/ power centers.
After Derek was taken he had barricaded up the door and the glowing beast was still trying to get in, Duncan remembered how the beast flashed a light when someone was looking at it.
"Manny, I order you to let the glowing beast in, the rest shall prepare any reflective surface they can find, when the beast comes in, everyone hide behind the reflective surface and Manny shall stare at the beast. The light was intense enough to stun a person, can it stun the beast as well?.
Derek''s POV:
I awoke in a cocoon, It was dark outside and I struggled to get out, The cocoon was tough, my fingers couldn''t penetrate the tough string and I gave up after a while. Eventually I checked my person and discovered I had my spear on me, I tried to move it without cutting myself and moved it to make indents in the cocoon and eventually cut it.
I gasped for air as I got out, the cocoon was suffocating me. I looked around to find myself in a den, surrounding me were millions of cocoons, I cut open one of them and out popped out a half changed corpse, there was legs protruding from the back of the corpse and mandibles were coming out of the face of the once pretty lady.
I looked at it with disgust and tried to look for newer cocoons, It was just a maze of webbings and everything was dark. I wandered everything was interesting old books, old machines, weapons here and there, most of them corroded, even the corpses of people and people-hybrids.
Wandering and gathering, I didn''t want to take to much but I begin to notice that the webbing was newer, more sticky as well. I tried to avoid getting my spear caught by the webs because if webs were on it, then the sharp side of the blade might become a blunt blade as the webs could become a cushion against it.
I heard a scream and I turned sharply to the noise, I saw a light in all the darkness, and the screaming grew louder

The Glowing Beast
Manny gulped as he looked at the door that lead to the dark staircase.
Sweating profoundly he looked back and gave one last look puppy dog look in hope someone giving him pity yet to his dismay it looks as if they were all inure to his advances.
Jana had crawled from the nursery and raised her hand unaware of the dangerous expirment that was about to take place, Tina took Jana into her hands and alongside Ryan, took both of them back to the nursery.
"The quicker you do this the quicker you can step off the pedestal" Mark said
Was it a threat or a helpful suggestion Manny didn''t know, he was busy being pushed by the polished metal closer and closer to the door.
Not able to take the pressure anymore, Manny roared and rushed the door, opening it and retreating as far back as he can.
"I did the deed, let me go now" Manny whimpered but Loveheart was unyielding, "The beast has to stun you Manny, you know that right?"
Manny gave another whimper and something in the dark stairwell landed with a thud.
Manny clawed at the polished metal but one bash from Mark sent him stumbling back and falling onto his butt.
He also looked at the being that had dropped down and was mesmerized by the lights that assaulted his eyes.
Manny was in a stupor, his feeble mind attempted to think about the view in front of him "Are you an Angel?" Manny attempted to say but the words lodged themselves into his throat.
In front of him was a peerless beauty with a slender frame, pale snow-white skin and she was outfitted in a robe with her clothes were on the borderline of hidden and revealing. Her hair was as black as the night, covering most of her face but firm and straight white teeth.
She gave Manny a dazzling smile and bent down to pick him up Manny reached out to grab her when a sudden bright flash of light blinded him, overriding his sense and he blacked out.
Screeching took up the entire hallway, the beauty was clawing her eyes as she blinded herself due to the reflective mirrors, Loveheart and Andre had rushed forward and bounded the girl in ropes and dragged her into the encampment.
Feeling restrained, the girl screeched even louder, her back suddenly shredded open and four spider legs were flailing around, Andre was suprised and involenteerily let go but Loveheart called out "Twitchy, Chocolate tackle her" and with enough force to be practically flying, Syndrome body tackled the girl and held her down.
"Andre I hope we can get good results from this specimen" Loveheart panted, he winced in pain as he turned to look at his left arm, badly damaged and bleeding profoundly from all the cuts and wounds that laced its frame.
"We can get that patched up...... probably" Andre said after looking at the arm.
"What do you mean probably?" Loveheart said
"No one really knows anything about medical knowledge, though I have no clue about Manny or the girls. " Andre explained himself
Loveheart sighed and went to go find some bandages.
Duncan looked at the captured specimen and chose to identify it,
/window
Stitcher Variant*
Stitchers are nasty individuals who mimic objects or other creatures drawing them closer before attacking them with paralyzing venom and letting them decay over time, they will feast on them whenever they think they''re ready. Their true form is unknown but it is hypothesized that they are closely related to arachnids.
Variant*- This Stitcher is known as a Flash Grinder, They use huge amounts of luciferin in their skin combined with stored oxygen to emit a blinding flash of light which overload the sense causing immediate blackout. The Flash Grinder uses this mechanism to stun their targets and encase them in a cocoon which eventually grinds their prey into a mush which they like to slurp up.
Duncan looked at his point total: 47
Duncan just looked at it with regret, Points are truly to hard to get, Of course Duncan had gotten a landslide of points due to the defensive network first starting up, but now that the War Dragonflies were aware of this threat only the occasional creature would wander into it and give him a point or two.
Gene Modding was a very expensive to acquire, a good 8000 points to be able to freely manipulate the gene pool. Duncan could only be ebullient about it and possibly daydream of the day he would have enough. Sadly his funds were spent in an enclave of survivors in a world of survival of the fittest.
This novel is published on a different platform. Support the original author by finding the official source.
For now Duncan can only give partial knowledge on the subject and he hopes for the scientist to figure it out, Only 5 points to send a simple message with a very basic explanation and he took it.
Duncan gave the suggestion to go look at the side door on the extended tunnel, there was also the cave in at the other end of the track.
The side door was locked but there was a fogged window that prevented others from seeing into the room, This gave the indication that whatever was on the other side, it was either humid or cold.
The person who went to check out the door, Mark I think his name was, had only peered into it when something clashed with the door, feral howling and laughing was coming from the other side, and a bloodied and clawed hand scratched the window. Mark bolted from the area and back into base camp.
Duncan became aware that he had to stay cautious of the feral creature. "What to do, what to do?" Duncan knew that confronting the creature would be a dangerous matter, the feral his a high chance of being sentient, He also had to be careful because there could be more than one of them, no kidding or guess about what else could be on the other side of the door.
Duncan finished giving out orders and turned his phone off, and headed toward bed. He gave his door a look and sighed. Finally the banging on the door had stopped, the urging for him to come down and eat something, anything. , Duncan didn''t feel like eating a meal tonight, so naturally he didn''t answer the calls. Tonight. Duncan decided to starve.

I was writing this throughout the time and I finally finished it. Hope I can get another chapter out soon.
Another Overseer
Duncan watched the settlers as they experimented on the Flash Grinder. Andre was busy disecting the Flash Grinder and obtaining useful parts of the figure. A sac of silk , Sac of Luciferin, The armored legs of the spider. The corpse was studied by the scientist Andre while the others were recuperating.
When the Flash Grinder died Duncan gotten a few points from it so he wasn''t complaining.
Using his fingers to scroll he went to check out the areas under his control.
The main tunnel, the back tunnel, a breeding room, a storage room, a few tunnels, a generator room, a laboratory.
These were what he had unlocked. Duncan looked at the current residents. There was many more mantises, dragonflies and centipedes due to the fact that the engine helped with the incubation. Allowing for them to have a higher growth potential and life-spans.
Since Duncan''s residence had went outside before Duncan could see what was outside of the tunnel. The dragonflies seem to have left the area alone for the most part so Duncan ordered Andre to disable to defense network so that the people could go outside for food.
Duncan finished up some final preparations and then closed his phones and went off to school.
__________________________________________________________________
Sandra was caring for the many baby insects. The remains of the Flash Grinder was fed to them and they all wiggled happily and moved around. Another Sahuagin was born and made the total into three. The Nymphs had finally grown up and were buzzing around wanting to find food but Sandra had trained them well to not attack humans. The mantises were like sentinels of the den, they stood motionlessly keeping vigilance for any mishap, disturbances that the hatchlings could cause.
The Centipedes were clearing the rubble and moving them to make structures. Simple homes and hives for the residents.
When the tunnel barricade finally cooled down a few centipedes were sent out to gather food. Manny was also sent out to make sure they stay in line.
Loveheart was organizing the mirrors to capture another Flash Grinder. Due to Andre''s research they''ve been able to find out that the silk would make great bandages, as well as cloth armor. A live specimen that could produce these silks would be a great addition to the colony so he was having Eric as bait so that the Flash Grinder could paralyze itself once more.
The colony was now mostly insects but they listened to the humans as if they were their mothers. Sandra was the main mother but they trusted a few of the other humans. An example was the sentient centipede''s father Eric, they also trusted the mothers that gave birth. They didn''t really like Loveheart nor do they like Andre but both were oblivious to the hate.
The sahuagins were being aggressive to those who came close to their child who happily played in the pond with the dragonfly nymphs. After a few hours production of the Flash Grinder silk and a successful hunt started to make things worthwhile.

At school Duncan was busy taking a test in his history class.
What empire came after the Roman Empire in which the east half of the Roman Empire was successful?
Byzantium
What King in England united the rest of Britain and formed a nation?
William the Conqueror
The era in which all production increased by as much as 30% and where did it originate? With what invention?
The Industrial Era (Industrial Revolution) originating in Great Britain with the invention of the Steam Engine.
More and more questions went by and Duncan felt at ease. The test was a breeze for him, easily finishing within the time given left Duncan with plenty of free-time to do things he wanted to do. Duncan asked his teacher for leave from class and sat down in the library. Checking his Den he was surprised by the sudden influx of points. The last time he checked it was only about 55 points but now he had a total of 271 points.
Not only that but many of his eggs had hatched successfully and he even received a few variants. Such as the Spiked War Mantis and the Venomous Dragonfly. However there was just two or three of these while the rest were just normal mantises and dragonflies.
Duncan was looking at his forces and then remembered the failed attempt on the Dragonfly Hive and how it almost eliminated his Den. "Should I get revenge or should I stay back and move away?" Duncan thought to himself.
The benefits of staying away would definitely out way the differences of having to confront the hive but the problem of staying away was that the hive could become strong enough to burrow into the ground or become heat resistant. Duncan remembered the virus mutated the body of the host and gave them special powers. The Dragonfly became the size of a park bench as one of their mutations. Who couldn''t say that the mutation would give it more powers.

Duncan''s forces were weak right now, the humans were barely adequate in their jobs and the Insects were not capable of fighting yet. Sure attacking the hive was suicide but elimination of the Hive Queen was more beneficial than not.
Duncan closed his phone and started to walk out of the library thinking about what he could do to gain more points when suddenly his phone vibrated.

WARNING!!! WARNING!!! Active Overseer #17852 has established a link to your current world. A scouting party has entered your realm.
Due to the first time being invaded you will gain additional defense points and an information bonus.
Bonuses:
A.I. Lincoln will be upgraded from 6% to 15%, the necessary requirements will be met with the bare minimum computer to run him.
In addition you gain 500 points to use exclusively for defense, any points used for anything else will cause an information bonus for the opposing side.
Information Bonus: Overseer #17852''s scouting party consist of 13 entities. 7 humans, 4 Synthetic Animals, and 2 A.I. You are allowed to know one information about one of the three entities.
|
Duncan was shocked by the sudden announcement but quickly snapped into focus.
Duncan thought for a bit then chose the animals. Knowing the animals is important because the A.I. are mysterious but since it is only two of them then it should be easy to handle. The humans are also predictable, at most they would be scouts with little to no combat power. As for the animals? If one of them caught Duncan''s attention then he can use his capture creature reward to bring it to his side in a critical moment. And what better way to determine which creature to choose than to understand them completely.
Not long after Duncan chose to receive the report on animals did a notification appeared.
|
Synthetic Animals.
These animals were made by the residents of World #17852. The disaster of this world mainly involves demonic beings going around slaughtering and enslaving humans to use them as a food source.
These animals were made by the demons to hunt humans but humans have managed to tame a few.
Alpher Kaisa Cobra- Cultivated and bred to detect heat signatures, they sense the world through biological heat. They are known to be able to use their poison as a tracker and their main specialty is ensnaring their prey by latching onto them with their teeth and holding on. (Traits: Strong Jaw, Heat Sense, Night Vision, Scent-Driven.)
Grounded Cebidae Bat- Bats that lost the ability to fly. They were bred to become nimble on the ground growing limbs closely related to that of a monkey. Closely listening to the winds to detect noises and then they follow them to their source. They are blind and reliant on sound to be able to move with confidence. They hate fighting but when forced to they take the habit of disorientating their foes with sound waves before smashing them with their fists and claws. (Trait-Strong Lungs, Nimble, Sensative to Sound, Bloodthirsty)
Armored Stag Beetle- These beetles have layers upon layers of keratin armor which is denser than steel. They move slowly but when threatened they rush forward with unstoppable force. Perfect for using as a mount to carry weight. They have a hard time moving when flipped over and their underbelly is vulnerable to most strikes. (Traits- Thick Shell, Enhanced Body, Quick, Strong Muscles)
Armored Dragon Ant- These ants are as capable of lifting buildings. They were created to destroy strongholds by ripping apart the ground itself. They are capable of breathing fire and the spine on its back allows for defense on its usually weak carapace. They normally work together in hoards and swarms but individually they are still powerhouses. (Traits- Enhanced Strength, Enhanced Senses, Razor Jaw, Sharp Legs)

Duncan sweated at the information that was displayed. If the synthetic creatures that were displayed this powerful then what about the humans and A.I.?
Duncan first looked at the map to see where exactly the portal was opened. From the map the portal had opened in an area where Duncan hadn''t explored yet but it far from the Den. A shroud of darkness covered the area but from the silhouettes he could see a large circular object that was fluctuating. Suddenly a large object took to the sky and with a screech went to circle the area.
Before coming back down. Duncan was perplexed by this phenomenon. No flying creature was reported in the information so Duncan had to assume that it was either a human with powers or an A.I. piloting a robotic unit.
''What should I do?'' Duncan thought to himself as he sat at the table.
Confrontation
Duncan twiddle his thumbs before having a squadron of centipedes led by Loveheart to go meet the scouting party.
As for defenses Duncan had 500 points to spend. Looking at the long list of items that could be bought Duncan finally chose to hire a low-grade training A.I and a small drone
The A.I. was a Tier 2: Minor Tactics A.I costing about 350 points while the body itself for the A.I was only 50 point due to it being only a neural transmitter box that could project images.
As for the remaining 100 points Duncan bought Lincoln a small roaming ball body much like BB-8 from Star Wars but it didn''t have the head and could only do simple tasks.
As for Loveheart and the squad of Centipedes they came across the scouting party, or to be precise they were surrounded by the scouting party.
The centipedes scuttled into a circle and waited as Loveheart put on a smile "Hello, I am Conner Loveheart and I would like to meet the Leader of this party"
The Cobra hissed, the bat screeched, and then three humans walked forward. One was a girl dressed entirely in red, a sword hung at her belt and a red fedora sat atop her lustrous auburn hair. The trench coat hide most of her figure giving her a mysterious air.
The second seemed like a carefree guy, his complexion shown brightly and he always seemed to be giving off a dazzling smile. His blond hair was wind-swept and he didn''t wear a shirt revealing toned abs. His only clothing was some tattered shorts but a trident was slung across his back.
The last figure was a girl in black and white in a yin-yang pattern. Her eyes seemed hazy but carrying a tea set she opened her mouth "Come then friend, let Yinna and you talk for a while"
Making a table appear from nowhere the girl sat down and put forth two cups of tea. "Yinna wants to know more about this world, will you aid Yinna?" The girl speaks and takes a sip of tea.
Loveheart found it odd to be casually having tea with the enemy but he knew that the base did not have the forces needed to take on these invaders. With a smile Loveheart sat down and took the tea into his hands and took a sip.
"Minty" Loveheart commented and Yinna put her cup down. "The information?"
"To tell you the truth we do not have much resources and our base is still expanding, we were unable to explore much due to a hive of monsters nearby."
"Yinna sees"
Yinna ponders for a bit before calling the duo that had accompanied her to her side and they started discussing in low voices.
Finally they broke apart and Yinna calls forth "We off you a deal, provide us live samples of a few of the creatures here and we can provide you some residents for your Den.
Loveheart paused as he waited for the Den Master to make a decision.
Duncan thought about the option in front of him. He could think accept the offer but then risk having spies inside of his camp. Or he could refuse them and lose the squadron of residents right there.
Duncan thought about it for a minute more before giving the answer.
Loveheart unclenched his teeth and replied to Yinna: "We refuse the personal, though a reward for us is in order, to put it short. We require knowledge. Combat techniques, cultivation and defense tactics. Etc. If you can agree with that we got a deal"
Loveheart waited for an answer, the sweat started to run down his back as he waited in anticipation of the trio had once more gotten together again to discuss before finally Yinna walked forward again. "We agree with your terms of service as an incentive to get us what we want the knowledge you seek shall be given to you. With this she motioned for someone to walk forward and a metallic humanoid walked forward. Everything about the body was humanoid shape, if flesh was there instead of the metal plates then the body would have turned into a mid-30s woman with lime hair. The eyes that was glowing orange would have been orange iris.
"Hello, I am A.I. Nala, Do you have any technological storage devices?"
Loveheart was surprised by this turn of events before fumbling around his body to find a tiny cubical storage device that Duncan had bought in the instant they said their proposal.
A.I. Nala looked at the cube and frowned, or move the face to mimic a frown. "This cube is inferior but it shall do, 5% of the current knowledge given, further acquisition will be provided when you provide the materials asked for.
Loveheart could only lower his head in thanks before turning to leave but he noticed one of the centipede were not moving. Yinna only looked over "Payment of the knowledge" she said simply and a sudden force threw Loveheart and the rest of the squadron.

Loveheart rode the swarm of Centipedes toward the base looking intently at the cube in hand.
"What knowledge could possibly be contained in this cube?" Loveheart was deep in thought and rushed back toward the base. Suddenly the sound of wings and one of the centipede let out a loud screech. A bird the size of a cat had flocked down and impaled the centipede.
The centipede curled around the bird and strangled it until it fell unconscious. Loveheart went up to it and stuffed it into the games bag. The centipede that was impaled crawled forward slowly before it laid on the ground dying. Loveheart sighs and has the centipede drag the body back.
"Keep some of the animals alive as we hunt" Loveheart ordered and the Centipedes nodded their head and spread out. "Oh game master I pray to the overseer that you''ve made the correct decisions" Loveheart prayed and grabbed some of the wild plants growing nearby.
The most important thing in any situation is knowledge, even the smallest bit of information can change the tides of how well a community is doing. Loveheart knew this and he hoped his game master Duncan also knew of it. "If I had known then I wouldn''t have foolishly sent out my best warriors on the expedition" Loveheart mumbled to himself and looked up to see the sun starting to set.
Loveheart brought his fingers to his lips and let out a shrill whistle. Soon after the centipedes converged into a group again and brought back live game. There was a few deers with plated armor. The remanents of what appeared to be a squirrel beast, a few lizards with green spots and a large pure white beetle.
Loveheart was happy with todays haul despite how dangerous the situation was a few moments ago and then he set off for the den with his loot.

After the confrontion between the two forces Duncan could only sweat at what was before him. Duncan had gotten up and was walking home thinking deeply into what had happen in the afternoon. "A higher more advanced player had invaded his world. The intentions are unknown but there is a possibility of annihilation due to the beasts that were brought. "Two Siege beasts and two locator beasts, both specialized to hunt humans " Duncan could only image what the other person would do.
"If only my point yield wasn''t so bad I could actually advance myself to defend against him or her. Whoever this person is. " Duncan could only frown and enter his home. "Duncan are you going to eat?" his mom called after she heard the door close. "I''ll take something later just stick it in the fridge" Duncan answered her and hurried to his room.
Duncan opened his phone and clicked on a button and said "Give Base Stats"

Aigen Colony: Tier 1 Base
The Walls are currently off but has an inlaid defense mechanism where it produces heat. Though it can ward of most beasts, any beasts with a store of water or heat-resistance/heatproof would be able to penetrate the barrier.
The train has been converted into proper houses for the human residence. Many residence are happy due to the fact that there is an adequate amount of food and water. The energy turbines show signs of stress and it is recommended that you upgrade or fix it. Requirements to do so is listed in the drop-down.
There are a total of 216 unfertilized eggs due to the surplus of insect inhabitants.
A.I. Rosa is capable of an upgrade. She needs the proper equipment to perform her next function: Gene Splicing (Adding genes to animals)
Den Resident Andre is capable of furthering his progress in his research if he gains the proper materials to work with, upgrade his research lab in order to further his research speed and discovery.

Duncan looked over what had happened and what was currently in the base and was surprised with a few things.
What were classes? How could they help me. Duncan pressed on the help button next to the notification and a window popped up.
| Classes:
Classes are upgrades that grant certain bonuses to stats, skills, and talents that a person may have. A person who has the class Magician is more capable and can exert more effects from spells and magic-based abilities. Likewise a person who has the class Blacksmith is more likely to create a better and more durable weapon or armor than a person without the class.
|
Duncan was intrigued now that he knew what classes were. He scrolled the screen to view Sandra and next to her was an exclamation point which signified her upgrade. Upon clicking the exclamation point a new screen popped up. "Classes available to Sandra Jericho-
Beast Whisperer: Being able to communicate with the beasts she can mediate between species and help solve their problems gaining their trust. Skills gained: Speech translation. Stat gain: Charm + 5, Intelligence + 3, Charisma + 5
Animal Tamer: Caring for animals is one of her best trait, she understands how to care for them and have her animal companions grow. Skills: Tame, Enhance Growth, Link. Stat gain: None.
Shaman: Caring for animals gave Sandra the recognition of the animal spirits. The spirits can be called by Sandra to aid her in various ways. Skills: Spirit buff, Empowerment, Spirit Shield, Spirit Avatar (Inferior). Stats: Wisdom + 6, Intelligence + 2, Constitution + 4.
[/window]
Duncan was shocked by the information before him. "All these choices before me, are to good to be true" Duncan thought about the pros and cons about each class. Since it was his first Class selection he didn''t know if classes could overlap but he wouldn''t want to take the risk and choose one that he knew he would need.
Beast Whisperer could help form bonds between the non-humans and human species, and any intelligent beast or animal could then talk to the group as long as Sandra was present. However in order to utilize the full potentional of the power the person would have to get close to the beast or animal in question. It was fine with the centipedes or other tamed beasts but wild beasts may kill Sandra at any moment.
Animal Tamer was a good class, it gave a free tame skill which could get many creatures to Duncan''s side, it also allowed for their potential to be boosted showing more signs of growth. A link could also be formed so that Sandra could see, hear, smell and touch things from what the beast senses. However taming has a high chance of failure and Sandra would have to concentrate heavily to form a link or complete a tame and to make matters worse she would have to be right next to the creature in order to initiate the taming contract. The creature could reject the contract as well as muster enough strength to lash out and kill Sandra.
The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
The Shaman seems like a good class due to the recognition of the spirit elders. She would gain many benefits from being a shaman like aid and foresight from the spirits to guide her through her troubles. They could also offer protection against dangerous foes. However if at any point in time the spirits are blocked or they decide to abandon her then she would be stuff with a class that might not be able to change, likewise she could also be cursed.
Duncan though hard about which class would be the best in the situation he may or may not face. Duncan decided to hold the decision for later and looked at the day''s haul from the hunt. He looked at the few creatures that came. There was the usual armored deer. squirrel carcass would be fed to the insects, the bird was new but what really caught his attention was the beetle.
"Identify" Duncan clicked on the beetle and bird and two screens popped up.
|
Rank 2 : Ciconiiforme Spear Beak - These birds have evolved from their Rank 1 counterparts: ??? (Have not discovered) and are capable of impaling through the tough armor of the Rank 1: Scaled Deer, they normally live in flocks of 50 and are heavily protective of their young.
Rank 3: Blinder Beetle:These beetles have evolved from their Rank 2 counterparts: ??? (Have not discovered) and they are pure white due to their pigments on their chitin which uses the surrounding lights to create a flash and heavily disorientate any predators that may threaten them. After releasing their flash they stay still due to exhaustion of energy. They love to bathe in light and can store sunlight in their chitin.
|
Duncan ordered Andre to dissect the beetle, with an additional order to wear shades to lower the risk of being blinded. Duncan also wanted to keep some of the sperm so that he could fertilize some of the dragonfly, mantis, and centipede eggs that he had.
Duncan was ready to move on to A.I. Rosa and Derek but a knock on his door took his attention away and before he could get up to open it the door opened and Laura was standing there.
"Duncan come eat, food is ready" Laura said abruptly and Duncan turned his head away from her and replied stubbornly "Not eating, go away, leave me alone"
"Duncan you need to take care of yourself, This family is bad enough already but please promise me that you''ll eat" Laura cried out
Duncan turned to face his sister who seemed to be on the verge of tears and he sighed. "Fine if you bring the food up here I''ll eat it with you is that alright with you."
Laura''s face immediately lit up and she gave a small smile before turning away. "You got it big brother" and she bounded down the stairs to grab the food.
Duncan quickly checked on A.I. Rosa and used 400 points for an artificial chunky body with a few moving parts and hooked it up to the mainframe where Rosa began to download into. The transfer was going to take about a year or two due to the instability of the energy source and obsolete parts of the system but in real life days it would take approximately two months. Of course the time would be shortened if he upgraded the computer or energy source but he didn''t have the points to do so.
Duncan felt someone push up against him and Duncan looked over to see his sister with a plate of food and a spoon. "Say ahh" Laura said and Duncan reluctantly opened his mouth.
The spoon full of corn went in and Duncan closed his mouth to chew and swallow whilst turning his attention back to the game.
"What is this you''re playing?" Laura asked when she peered over to look at the phone.
"A game called Micro-Management. Its pretty interesting though most of my inhabitants are mutant insects"
Laura''s face wrinkled in disgust at the mention of insects but she continued watching Duncan play the game. Duncan had now flicked his screen over to Derek who was staying close the the wall in an underground subway. In his hands was a spear and his shoulder looked as if something had torn it to shreds. Derek was also limping and leaving a trail of specks and blotches of blood. However there were signs with writing on them pointing in the direction that Derek was going with messages like "Camp here, Safe Haven in this direction. Food/ Water/ Companions. You want them we have them. "
Derek turned the corner and out jumped a humanoid creature with a rotted body, from Derek''s status came a condition called Nauseated and Duncan could tell that the smell must have been horrid to disorientate Derek. Derek , despite being muddleheaded, had swung his spear to knock the humanoid to the side and then impaled the head.
Derek quickly checked the body before extracting the heart and continued moving. "Identify" Duncan clicked and a window popped up
|
Rank 1 Ingredient: Rotted Heart.
This heart came from a Rotted Dweller. It can be used to create a synthetic beast of inferior quality.
|
Duncan was astounded by what Derek was gathering and checked his skills.

The mass of information blinded Duncan but after reading it through carefully it appeared as if Derek was top tier material. Based on the explanations of the Bonuses, the numbers in the parenthesis would change based on current state and traits/classes. However the numbers outside of the parenthesis were innate stats or the natural stats of the person.
Duncan kept on focusing on the game while Laura was feeding him till the plate was empty.
"If you''re so focused on the game then what if I played it and joined you, It looks like a Game of War type game. I can join your guild or something like that" Laura offered.
"Yeah go ahead and make an account. However I do not know my player I.D. so you''re going to have to find me in the world" Duncan said.
"Alright I''ll download it tonight and get back to you in the morning" Laura said cheerfully, and she bounded out of the room plates in one hand and phone in the other.
"Oh well, its only a game whats the worst that could possibly happen" Duncan glanced at Laura''s retreating figure before focusing on the game once more.
Sisters World
Duncan woke the next morning to find Laura in his room with her phone in hand. "I downloaded the game, I went through the tutorial and chose the 200% point gain bonus" Laura said simply and Duncan got up.
"What is your group, starting location and apocalypse?" Duncan asked as he pulled himself out of bed and faced his sister.
"My group is 20 beings, I have 11 humans, 3 A.I., 1 Gorilla, 2 Plant Species intelligence, and 3 dwarves. As for the starting location my group is currently in a destroyed cruiser drifting in space in the midst of a debris-filled asteroid belt. This area was the site for a large-scale war between two civilizations and almost all ships here are destroyed to some degree.
My group has found a ship that has a working bio-system but other than that there is minimum supplies. Water can be recycled through a water purifier but food is all but non-existent.
The apocalypse is probably the space field I am in. Everywhere I look there is just debris. Even the ship I am on currently has sectors that are in open-space. There is hope on rebuilding the ships to make them operational but with the current tech it is hopeless." Laura sighed.
Duncan thought about her circumstances before saying aloud "Your location is good but the situation is not. The Plant Beasts do not need oxygen to survive but the surrounding area is to cold for them. Otherwise they''d be able to go out into space unprotected and all. The addition of the dwarves to your group was a good start as they are masters of metal. With them it is not completely out of the question on rebuilding the ships or even getting ships together to create an artificial planet or space station. Tell me, what are your three A.I. units like"
"The A.I. are:
Corwin: Construction Expert: 2% availability
Kasper: Astronomy: 5% Availability
Shandra: Robotic Assembly: 0% Availbility"
"The possibility of you building a space station is high, just make sure you can create a working habitat and upgrade Shandra and you should be fine. " Duncan advised and Laura nodded her head.
"In that case, my Den currently has one central area with about 3 hallways connected to it. One hallway ends with open access to space with an emergency door separating the hallway and space. The second leads to four open rooms, and the last splits into hallways shrouded in darkness it is unknown what is beyond that since there are hazards preventing entry such as jagged metal, sparking electricity lines and more"
Duncan thought about what to do with the 1500 points Laura currently had but then he thought of a better idea. "Since its your den you should make the choices, however a forge is very important and you should get something to tackle space"
"Alright big brother" Laura smiled and then bounded out of the room.
Duncan grabbed his phone and opened up the app and looked to see what was happening. The points seemed to have increased to a total of 107 points. There was also a huge wave of insects ranging from Mantises, Dragonflies, Centipedes.
"I think I''ll choose the Beast Whisperer Class" Duncan thought and made the choice. At once the changes took affect and Sandra slumped to the ground as information overloaded her brain along with the voices of hundreds of insects.
Duncan immediately went and upgraded Sandra''s brain to handle the surplus of information and watched his points go down the drain.

Duncan then looked at the remaining insects.
A force of about 500 with various degrees of experience and traits.
Appointing the Sentient Centipede as commander, appointing Sandra as commander. Duncan ordered and the insects gathered into separate corps. Loveheart was introduced as a scouter corp.
Duncan scrolled around the map and took a look at the hive. He saw multiple dragonflies flying to and from the hive going deep into the forest.
Duncan looked at his forces and then to the hive once more. "Maybe its time to get my revenge".

Laura settled down on her bed and brought the phone close to her face. The 1500 points was currently unused. Laura made a room into a small farm with a few packets of seeds such as Maize and cabbages for 500. Another room was turned into a workshop with a very small assembly line which costed Laura 800 points. With the remaining 200 points she decided to save it and have the Plant Species start to clear the dark hallway. The dwarves and a few humans were in the workshop trying to install Shandra.
A few humans also went to help the plants while the remainder was either lolling around or working the farms. The ape was sitting in the corner just minding his own business and two humans were fixing up the last two rooms to make them sleeping habitats for the inhabitants.
Laura watched the inhabitants for only a bit before exiting and going to do something else.

In the world one of the males clearing the dark hallway collided with a container and fell. "Who fell, are you okay?" a voice called out and the guy replied in a loud voice. "I''m fine, just hit something big, If only there is a light somewhere"
"I don''t like this darkness, it feels unnerving" a person spoke up "Reminds me of what one of my inhabitants said about darkness being the his best friend".
"Really now, what did he say about it?" the guy who fell asked.
"He said that his location was a dark place such as this. To appease his inhabitants he provided them with light. But that only became a beacon for horrors to come and invade them. A never ending wave of horrors. "
"So darkness is better?" a girl''s voice asked. "I belie.... AHHHH" the sound of scuffling and the screaming grew more and more distant".
"intruders, lets get back to the Den" a person spoke and ran. The guy who fell scuttled to his feet and then ran. The light of the den. Tendrils launched themselves from the darkness and the guy avoided it narrowly, however one of the girls was dragged away screaming. The guy bolted across the door and pulled a person in before closing the door tightly.
An object collided with the door leaving a massive dent before it cried out and retreated back into the darkness.
"What was that?" a girl asked and the guy looked at her. "I don''t know, but they heard us, and then came for us"
" We lost three" an elder spoke up and they all looked around and confirmed that they did lose three.
A middle-aged man, a middle-school girl, and a boy who was no older than 7.
"Lets hope that we go out more prepared next time" the elder said and slowly walked off to organize the objects they did manage to collect.
