《Omega System》 Prologue and Chapter 1 - The Royal Academy

Prologue

¡°Hmm, fascinating world. They named it Earth? Why would they name it after dirt?¡± The ancient being sat in his chair in an unknown space. He was beyond bored, but something about this planet had caught his interest. ¡°I think I¡¯ll change this world just a tiny bit.¡± The being started to move his finger towards Earth, which was seated snugly in his palm. This being proceeded to alter the world to his liking. ¡°Let¡¯s see what happens now that I¡¯ve made some changes.¡± This ancient being smiled as he started to inspect the effects of his actions.

Chapter 1

January 23, 2023 On this day, the earth changed completely. One minute, everything was normal, the next minute, Earth became like a fantasy novel. Unique powers called skills awakened in the residents of Earth. This day the world changed was called Omega. Technology was advanced further than what it had accomplished with human power alone. With the addition of skills and magic, many technological advances were made, full immersion VR, hoverboards, and many machines that operated on magic power were invented. When this change took place, the world was in shock. Everyone had no clue as to what had happened. As years passed, many people that are now famous, had discovered about skills and how to use them. With these skills, they conjured magic and improved the world, technology was only the start. The people that had discovered skills founded schools that taught children about these skills and how to control them. These schools are called were named Academies. 14 years later, present day England. *** September 7, 2037 Today was Damon Zellar¡¯s first day of high school. He had been accepted into the most prestigious Academy in England, the Royal academy, a school attended by many nobles¡¯ and wealthy people¡¯s children. Coincidentally, Damon was born in the year that Omega happened. ¡°Hm, it¡¯s finally the first day of school, where¡¯s my uniform?¡± Damon mumbled to himself as he groped around in his closet. He was excited to get to school. Damon looked around his bedroom for his uniform and finally found it. It was a red dress shirt with a black tie, with matching black dress pants. Damon picked up his clothes and brought them to the washroom to get changed. Damon lived in a run down apartment that had existed in the neighborhood for years. It had 4 rooms, his bedroom, washroom, kitchen, and living room. Once reaching the washroom, he put on his contacts. Everywhere he went, people questioned him about his red eyes. That¡¯s why he choose to wear brown contacts instead, so he wouldn¡¯t get bothered as much. He had inherited his red eyes from his father, but had been a nuisance his entire life. After that, Damon headed towards his kitchen for breakfast. Damon took some food out of the refrigerator and started cooking. He heard a DING DING DING sound once his food was finished, so he carried the food onto the table. After, he sat down at his small two person table, and started eating his breakfast. His food was simple, consisting of only bread and eggs. He never spared a thought on it, because he was all too used to it by now. Damon never had money to spare, so he couldn¡¯t enjoy luxuries like a decent breakfast. Mother, I hope you¡¯re proud of me. I¡¯ve finally made it into the best school in England and I¡¯m safe and healthy. As Damon was about to get another serving, his alarm rang. Looking at the time he realized he would be late for school if he didn¡¯t leave now. School started soon, so he quickly put the dishes in the sink and left his apartment. The Royal Academy was within walking distance of his apartment, so he sprinted towards it. Damon saw many others in the school''s uniform walking towards the Academy¡¯s direction. They were all in groups talking together, while Damon was all by himself. I hope I can make some good friends at this academy, and walk to school together like those kids. I hope that we all have a great school year together. Unfortunately for Damon, things wouldn¡¯t be that easy for him at his new school. *** Damon walked in to find a teacher directing some of the students to a training hall. ¡°You, you¡¯re new, right?¡± asked the teacher. Damon realized the teacher was looking at him. ¡°Yeah, this is my first day!¡± said Damon proudly. ¡°All new students need to go to Training Hall A for assessment. You¡¯ll be ranked and assigned to classes accordingly.¡± ¡°That way?¡± asked Damon, pointing to where the other new students were going. The teacher had moved on to other students, leaving Damon to follow the crowd and ponder what he¡¯d just learned. There¡¯s a class ranking system? I hope I don¡¯t get placed in the lowest ranked class. Damon¡¯s stomach churned as he thought about somehow being placed in the lowest class. As Damon was heading towards the training hall, another student approached him. She was around 10 inches shorter than him. She had purple hair and looked like she was a descendant of a noble. The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement. ¡°Hi! My name¡¯s Rachel. I¡¯m the daughter of Duke Hamlet, and I have telepathic powers. You could call me an esper.¡± ¡°Hello, my name¡¯s Damon. How can I help you?¡± Damon was confused. He knew he didn¡¯t look like the other wealthy kids here. Why is this girl talking so casually as if I¡¯m her friend? She just appeared out of nowhere! The girl looked him up and down. The girl looked him up and down like he was a product to be bought in a shopping mall. As her critical gaze swept over him, Damon took the opportunity to get a good look at her. Besides her obvious height and hair color, Damon could see the uniform she wore wasn''t standard issue. It looked the same, but was made of high quality cloth and was perfectly tailored to her frame. She stood with the easy confidence that could only come from a lifetime of every whim being catered to. ¡°You seem like your pretty fit, can you hurry up and introduce your family name and your powers already? I don¡¯t have all day.¡± The girl seemed like she was in a hurry and that talking with him was a waste of her time. Her eyes had been looking around, not focusing on him and she seemed a bit hyper. She kept bouncing on the spot. Maybe she ate a lot of sugar with breakfast? ¡°Um, I live by myself. I am pretty good physically, but I don¡¯t have any unique skills,¡± admitted Damon. His bluntly honest self-assessment blurted out of his mouth before he could stop it. Rachel¡¯s face instantly distorted. ¡°What? Are you saying you¡¯re a commoner that doesn¡¯t even have any talent? How dare you try talking to someone as noble as myself you disgusting filth. You¡¯re not even worth any of my time.¡± Rachel¡¯s words caught Damon by surprise. ¡°Why are you acting like¡ª¡° Damon tried to say. Rachel immediately interrupted him.¡°Stop talking to me you commoner. You don¡¯t have the right to speak to me starting from now,¡± The girl was clearly spoiled, and now she was on the verge of making a scene. ¡°But you¡¯re the one that spoke to me first!¡± spluttered Damon, his mouth unwilling to quit while his mind raced to catch up. Rachel¡¯s face twisted even more. ¡°How dare you talk back to a noble like me you trash?! I¡¯ll make sure you get punished accordingly!¡± After saying that, she angrily stomped away towards what looked like the direction of other students while muttering about wasted time and how she could have made connections with some talented freshmen instead. Damon was bewildered by the rapid mood change, simply because he admitted to being poor. What in the world just happened? If the whole school is like that, the divide between the powerful and weak must be larger than I thought. Little did he know, his guess was right on target. *** [Training Hall] The training hall was basically just a gigantic gym, like Damon had seen in tv shows. It had a huge open space bigger than a football field. There were also side rooms with more specific equipment for what you wanted to do. As Damon entered the door, he could see hundreds of students lining up for the class placement exam. There were students from many different backgrounds, some looked like royalty while others just looked like regular high school students. He could easily see the class differences between the rich and poor. The wealthy and noble were showing off to their friends, while the normal students were just casually talking with their friends. There were several lines, and many teachers conducting the tests. Damon walked towards the registration line to take the exam. ¡°Hello, are you here for the class placement exam? Could I see your letter of acceptance into the Royal Academy to confirm?¡± said the registration lady. Damon quickly pulled out his letter of acceptance from his coat pocket. ¡°Here you go.¡± Damon handed the letter to the lady, and stood there waiting. After the lady examined he letter, she asked for his name, and wrote it down on a sheet of paper. After finishing registration, he proceeded to the first line up - the Physical Combat Test. As he was standing in line, he saw a particularly well dressed girl conducting the physical test. She certainly looked like royalty. Her uniform had extra gold lining, and an expensive red velvet cloth. She had blonde hair and blue eyes that made a good match. Also, the air around her just yelled out ROYALTY. Her uniform was neat and she walked in a fancy way. Her legs were going one in front of another and she even flicked her hair behind her head once. She was standing in a blue ring that looked like a boxing ring, just 10 times bigger. Let¡¯s see how she performs and see if she is a powerful student. I should be able to gauge how strong the students at this school are from this fight. The well dressed girl¡¯s opponent was another girl, about the same height as her with blue hair. She was one of the normal looking students, and she had a nervous expression on her face. Her clothes were more worn than her opponent¡¯s and they were wrinkled in various areas. She didn¡¯t give off the same vibe and she didn¡¯t walk in any particularly fancy way. Her description could be defined as a commoner. ¡°Go Siena! Go Siena!¡±The crowd chanted and cheered for the blonde haired girl causing her opponent to start forming beads of sweat on her head. The instructor managing this test informed the two girls about the rules. After the explanation, the instructor got out of the ring and started counting down. ¡°3¡ª2¡ª1¡ªSTART!¡± The two girls didn¡¯t move from their spots, they eyed each other trying to figure out and predict their enemies¡¯ moves. This stalemate took two minutes, before the blue haired girl made the first move. She rushed forward while chanting something. The result was her fist being covered with a light blue light. Before her fist could hit the target though, the blonde girl also chanted something and a yellow force field like barrier appeared, and surrounded her body. The blue light covered fist clashed against the yellow barrier. Sparks flew as the two forces met, but the blue haired girl couldn¡¯t break through the barrier. ¡°As expected of the King¡¯s daughter, truly fitting results for the princess. That magic barrier was excellently made,¡± exclaimed one of the teachers to another in the seats near where Damon was standing. ¡°It¡¯s almost guaranteed that she¡¯s going to make it into the S-class.¡± Damon continued to hear praise for her as the two continued to fight. Clearly, she was a favorite of the teachers. She certainly is strong, I hope I don¡¯t have to go against someone that strong when it¡¯s my turn. As the blue haired girl continued to hammer down on the yellow barrier, the blonde girl was watching closely for an opening. The moment her opponent took a small break from her assault, she disabled the barrier and rushed forward. She chanted something and her fist was covered in a similar light to the blue light from before, but this one was shining brighter and with a harsher intensity. She swung her arm towards her enemy¡¯s stomach. When it connected, the blue haired girl flew backward and fainted. The crowd cheered, as the instructor concluded the battle. Suddenly, Siena turned her head towards somewhere in the room. She had a confused expression, but after a few seconds, it returned to being composed. Siena looked around the room until her gaze landed on Damon. ¡°You. Come up here right now. I¡¯ll be your opponent for the combat exam.¡±

Chapter 2 - Class Placement Exam: Physical Combat The crowd was suddenly quiet. Damon felt his heart beating faster, anticipating what would happen next. ¡°Why fight against me? Also, didn¡¯t you just finish your combat exam?¡± ¡°I¡¯m sure that the instructors can make an exception this once, can¡¯t they?¡± The instructors looked at each other, and then discussed something for a few moments. They agreed this once because the requestor was the King¡¯s daughter. ¡°See, there¡¯s no issues.¡± Siena smirked as she placed her hands on her hips. She seems overconfident and she acts like she owns the school. That type of personality is clearly disliked, but why do so many people love her? Is it because she¡¯s a princess? Damon¡¯s face furrowed into a frown. She might be strong, but it seems like she has a superiority complex. I hate people that think they¡¯re better than others. I¡¯ll lose face if I back down here, but how can I win against her? ¡°I¡¯ll even put a restriction on myself, to lower myself to a commoner¡¯s level. I won¡¯t use any magic.¡± The crowd gasped. They were baffled that the princess would do a lowly person such a favour. Damon¡¯s face started to turn red with fury, people were assuming that he was a powerless commoner? Someone that couldn¡¯t even defend them self? I¡¯m going to beat this brat up, and teach her a lesson about respect. ¡°You better accept you commoner. You better not disgrace the lady!¡± the crowd shouted. Damon¡¯s anger continued to rise due to the crowd¡¯s insults. He felt like his head could explode at any moment. I¡¯ll show them that a COMMONER can beat a noble. I¡¯ll prove you all wrong!!! With these thoughts in his head, Damon started walking towards the ring. His opponent was facing him about 5m away. They stared at each other, trying to analyze the other party¡¯s traits or combat ability. Damon already saw Siena fighting once, so he had a vague idea of how she fought. How they were treating me is similar to how Rachel treated me. She doesn¡¯t have anything to do with this right? She did state that she would punish me though¡ The rules were:
  1. No weapons or killing allowed (magic use not permitted for Siena)
  2. Once either party is unconscious or surrenders, the opponent wins
  3. No set time limit
The judge¡¯s countdown brought Damon back to his senses. He got in a fighting stance, with his fists up to shoulder level, and his legs spread evenly apart. Siena did the same. The crowd got louder and louder as they cheered for her. ¡°Come on Siena! Show this commoner who¡¯s boss!¡± the spectators cheered.Love this story? Find the genuine version on the author''s preferred platform and support their work! ¡°3¡ª2¡ª1¡ªSTART!¡± This time, Siena struck first unlike her past battle. She sent a kick towards Damon¡¯s head, but he dodged to the left just in time. The kick scraped his cheek, even though it didn¡¯t connect, Damon could feel the force behind it. It was enough to shatter a huge boulder into several pieces. He retreated backwards agilely, Siena didn¡¯t even give him a moment of rest. She chased after him and attempted a few more swift attacks. Damon stopped retreating and went on the offensive. Dodging one of the blonde girl¡¯s punches, he feinted a punch with his right hand aiming at her head, and luckily, she took the bait. As Siena was raising both of her hands towards her right side, Damon struck from the left onto her side. ¡°Ugh¡¡± Siena let out a small groan, and retreated backwards. I finally got one hit in, seems like her defensive capabilities without magic aren¡¯t really high. The girl in front of Damon eyed him with curiosity. ¡°How can you do that much damage without using magic? I guess your physical capabilities are high just like that person said.¡± Siena was looking Damon up and down just like Rachel had done on the front yard. Just like that person said? Who could¡¯ve gave her that information without me knowing? Soon after these thoughts raced through his head, Siena started attaching again. This time, she closed her eyes as if she was meditating. The air surrounding her started to steam; she looked as if she was about to burst forward with the pent up energy she had gathered. Suddenly, within the span of seconds, Siena stopped meditating and burst forward like a flash of lightning across the sky, Damon¡¯s eyes could barely track her movements, and in the next instant, he was sent sprawling. Siena was standing where he was before he got rammed into. There were black streaks on the ground that must¡¯ve appeared from the heat Siena released from performing that move. Damon¡¯s whole body was throbbing with pain. His ribs felt broken and his arms and legs felt like butter. ¡°Surrender now and you won¡¯t get hurt any further. I can at least grant you mercy even though you don¡¯t deserve it.¡± Siena looked down at him with a disgusted expression. Her body was clearly saying that she was superior. Her arms were crossed and she didn¡¯t even look him in the eyes. ¡°You look so pitiful, just go home already¡ª- this is boring. I thought you could have provided me with more entertainment than this, but I guess I was wrong¡¡± Siena then started getting closer to Damon, presumably to deal the finishing blow. Who does this bitch think she is? I¡¯ll beat the crap out of you, just wait and see! Before Damon¡¯s opponent could deal the finishing blow, he rolled to the side and instantly sprang back up. Damon and his opponent were both worn down and tired after Damon had received countless wounds, and Siena using that one attack that enhanced her speed from before. Damon was bruised all over, with blood trickling down out from several places on his body. Siena was probably similarity tired, although she barely showed it. The only thing you could tell was her light panting, but it was barely noticeable if you didn¡¯t concentrate on it. Probably to keep her dignity of being a member of the royal family. As a last attempt, Damon¡¯s as about to start punching Siena consecutively, but it seemed she had a similar idea. Unfortunately for Damon, she had reacted quicker than him, She then started to assault Damon with a barrage of punches¡ª-Damon barely managed to dodge them all. As the strikes were getting faster and faster, he got more cuts and grazes than before. The cuts burned as each hit grazed his skin. Sweat was starting to form on his brow, and it felt harder and harder to keep up. His muscles were screaming in agony because of the stress he was putting them through. Fortunately for Damon, Siena looked like she was on the verge of collapsing, while trying to keep up the assault, causing her to expend almost all of her energy. ¡°I must end this in one blow! Otherwise, I won¡¯t be able to win like this! I¡¯m barely keeping up and it looks like my opponent will at least be able to keep up her attacks for a few more minutes .¡± As he took steps backwards, the opponent chased after him, but this caused her to show the perfect opening that he was looking for. Right as Siena was taking the step forward towards Damon, her left side was left unprotected. Damon took this splendid chance that he was given, and mustered all the strength he had into his right hand. At that very moment, he took a big step and leaned forward, using the speed of his step to further increase the strength of his punch. Right before the opponent was going to deal the battle ending blow, Damon struckfirst. The result was devastating. Siena was sent flying backwards like a bullet being shot, and smashed into the wall. The wall was left with a big hole with a girl lying Inside it. Damon was breathing heavily and sweat was dripping down his face. The instructors walked up to his opponent and examined her. They reported that she was unconscious that Damon had passed the Physical Exam. ¡°The winner is¡ª- Damon Zellar!¡± The students watching all booed and shouted in anger. Their idol had lost and received many injuries too. Plus, her reputation had been damaged from this one loss to the ¡°commoner.¡± Damon received piercing and judging gazes from the students. Damon ignored all the whispers and gazes, because he was incredibly tired. He walked slowly to the resting station and collapsed. This was because the strain he had placed on his body had gone over the limit, but his body¡¯s condition was totally different to his mind¡¯s. I¡¯ve done it. I passed the physical exam! His heart was beating wildly as he bathed in happiness. He joyfully headed to another line and started waiting for the Magic Test after getting healed by one of the doctors stationed nearby. Chapter 3 - Magic Test Along With An Unexpected Grudge Little did Damon know, a group of students standing in the dark corner were keeping their eyes on him. These students wore dark clothes and wore chains all across their body. They watched Damon walk away with enraged expressions on their faces. When it was finally Damon¡¯s turn for the magic test, he stepped forward. He could use any type of magic skill he wanted to destroy the dummy in front of him, and depending on how damaged it was, he would receive a suitable score. Now the instructor is asking for my skills too? I thought that purple-haired girl was the only person that cared.I should get some skills for myself sometime soon. Damon thought about how he should carry out this task. I¡¯ll just run up and punch the dummy, that should work, right? As he was lost in thought, the instructor ushered him to hurry up. ¡®It¡¯s not that hard, just strike the dummy with any skill you want. Hurry it up, there¡¯s many other students waiting in line.¡± Skills¡ I gotta get one soon. I don¡¯t know how to use magic either, so I guess I¡¯ll just go ahead with my plan. Damon proceeded to walk up to the target and punched it with as much strength he could muster. The result was a small dent. ¡°You were supposed to strike it with magic power, anything else won¡¯t damage it. Next please,¡± the instructor said with a bored expression on his face.¡± Was I not supposed to do that? Everyone¡¯s talking about skills ¡ª where can I get one? Oh well, I¡¯ll try to do better on the knowledge test. ¡°Did he seriously punch that? Does he have any common sense? It¡¯s a magic test, not a physical test.¡± ¡°As expected of a commoner, I don¡¯t see why this school even allows them in here. How did he even beat Siena with pitiful skills like that?¡± Many other students talked badly about Damon, but he just ignored it. The people standing in the corner were still carefully watching Damon. He felt gazes on his back and turned his head towards their direction. Why are they watching me? Are they angry or something? I think I did see them cheering for Siena during the fight---- I should focus on my current task instead of these guys. The insults continued, they were drowning all other sounds out. Damon could tolerate a few, but this was too much. They were really starting to get on his nerves, before Damon was about to explode with anger--- Stop, I need to stay calm. Take a deep breath. I can¡¯t let my old personality take over again. It needs to stay locked away just like Mom said. This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. Damon calmed himself down and tried to not let the insults get to him. As time passed, the complaints died down, and all was quiet once again. He headed towards a worn out wooden bench and sat on it. Damon looked around the training hall, he saw many different things. Students conducting tests with unfocused expressions, others whispering together in groups while occasionally glancing at Damon. Even though Damon¡¯s physical test had been over 10 minutes ago, the only ones that seemed undisturbed by it were the instructors. Everyone else was gossiping about the fight. Damon was clueless, everything that was taking place happened because he had achieved victory over Siena, yet Damon was the only one oblivious to that fact. Suddenly, the group of boys watching Damon from the corner approached him in a rude manner. They crowded around Damon, who was sitting on a bench, resting. They were chewing gum and held blunt objects in their hands. Damon was confused as to why they walked up to him. ¡°Can I help you?¡± ¡°Yes ya can, get on ya fucking knees and beg for forgiveness. You disgraced our lady in front of the whole school. We won¡¯t let you out of this one unscathed, until you beg for mercy and apologize.¡± ¡°And why would I have to do that? It was a fair fight, and I¡¯m not even the one that requested it.¡± Damon¡¯s body ached from remembering that battle he had gone through. ¡°The lady hadn¡¯t even used her full power. If she used her magic, you would be a pile of shit on the ground right now.¡¯ The guy with a sturdy body build was the one speaking with Damon. He seemed like he was the leader of this small group of troublemakers, because his buddies were listening attentively and nodding to his every words. ¡°But she didn¡¯t use her full power, you heard her say she wouldn''t use magic too right? Don¡¯t tell me you¡¯re deaf.¡± Damon provoked the group leader a little, because he was irritating him. It was his precious recovery time, he had to use this time wisely to prepare for the knowledge test, yet these guys were bothering him. Can they just leave already? Otherwise, I might show a bit of hostility. Damon started to voice his thoughts to the people standing in front of him. They wore glowering expressions on their faces as they heard each word that left his mouth. ¡°I think this guy needs a beating, right guys?¡± The leader with the big build, and the gold chains rattling on his chest, received nods from his group members. They moved forward with blinding speed and sucker punched him. He staggered backwards, as his opponent landed a few more strikes in the same spot. His ribs felt like they had snapped, but the group of boys continued to advance while simultaneously attacking. They dealt a few more bone breaking blows all over his body until he collapsed. Blood was streaming down his face, and his body was crumpled on the ground. Damon was shocked that these people had managed to inflict so much damage in a short amount of time, but he couldn¡¯t focus on that. The pain was overloading his senses, so he couldn''t even think straight. They bent down and held Damon¡¯s head in their hand. Their hands were as rough as gravel, and were decorated with scars. They tilted Damon¡¯s chin toward themselves. ¡°Here¡¯s a little info for ya kid. Don¡¯t go messing with the High Rankers. Otherwise us Middle Rankers are gonna come for you Low Rankers under their orders. Trust me, that ain¡¯t good for ya buddy.¡± The leader finished with his little lesson of how the school worked, he called his buddies and then they strolled away. That was so quick, that it had not even felt like a few seconds had passed. Damon was left sprawled on the ground, unable to move a muscle. Blood was splattered everywhere, but no one else gave a look in his direction. It seemed like what had just happened was a regular occurrence in this Academy. Damn BASTARDS! I¡¯ll make sure to pay you back 100 times as hard when I get the chance! FUCK, it hurts like hell. Curses were coming out rapid fire in his mind, but after spewing out these words for a few minutes, he returned to his old, timid self. ¡°Once I¡¯m strong enough, I¡¯ll become whatever these High Rankers are and rule the school. Once that time arrives, I¡¯ll make sure you beg for mercy and apologize!¡± What concerned him more was which High Ranker had gave them the orders to beat him up. It couldn¡¯t have been Siena, because that group had been watching Damon ever since the battle with with Siena. There was a high chance that whoever hired those thugs was the same person that had grabbed Siena¡¯s attention when she had just finished her 1st battle of the Physical Combat exam. Why me again though? I haven''t been in contact with anyone at this school, because it''s only the first day! He had a confused expression, until he thought back to the situation that had arose at the front yard of The Royal Academy. In reality, there was one person that Damon had talked to before this had all started. Damon visualized that person in his mind, their way of talking having left an impression, and their distinctive bright purple hair having grabbed Damon¡¯s attention the moment he had laid his eyes on it. Chapter 4 - The Infirmary Rachel. Damon uttered that single word as realization dawned on him. It must have been because of their meeting at their front gate that had caused all this to happen. Was it because of what I said? He pondered on that thought for a minute, and it seemed like the only logical reason behind the series of unfortunate events that had occured. Damon lay on the ground like that for a few more minutes while thinking about what to do. I want to go to Rachel and ask for an explanation right this second, but those guys from before might come ba--- A boy about the same age as Damon had interrupted him. He looked to be about 5 foot 7, and had ash brown coloured hair. He had a expression on his face that was full of concern.. ¡°Are you ok? Those guys sure beat you up hard, huh.¡± The boy held out his hand, the kind gesture calmed Damon down. Damon took the other boy¡¯s hand and he helped him up. Damon patted off the dust on his clothes, and tried to wipe his blood off on his clothes. He tried to at least, it was futile, there was just too much blood. ¡°Why¡¯d you help me? I can clearly see that you¡¯re the only one that offered,¡± said Damon, not caring about the condition his body was in. His suspicion of the person in front of him rose, but the boy quickly interrupted him. ¡°You¡¯re hurt, first, we got to get you to the infirmary. I¡¯ll tell you more about myself when you¡¯re all patched up.¡± *** [Infirmary] Damon had limped all the way here. One of his arms had been around the other boy¡¯s neck as they had slowly moved towards the infirmary. Damon felt like he owed the boy for helping him out this much, so he made a mental note to not forget to pay back the favour. The moment he entered the infirmary, he was shocked at how decorated and vibrant it was. Damon thought the infirmary to be a boring space, full of white painted furniture and walls, with the occasional potted plant. Contrary to Damon¡¯s expectations, the room was anything but that. When you entered, there was a friendly receptionist that greeted you with a smile, there were colourful paintings hanging on the wall, and the walls were painted orange, which gave off a warm feeling that soothed your heart. There were more than a few potted plants, the room seemed like a jungle! There were plants and flowers in every corner, as if the decorator had tried to squeeze as many pots of plants as he could into this one room. The infirmary was about the size of a cafeteria, it was pretty gigantic compared to other infirmaries. This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it. Well, it is the best Academy in England after all. There were many soft, leather couches spread across the room, against the walls, which was 10 times better than the usual plastic chairs. There were even magazines and books resting on small tables, spread out evenly throughout the infirmary. Towards the back, there was a hallway, probably that led to the areas where students were treated for their injuries. ¡°Hi, how can I hel--- Why are you in such bad shape?! Doctor! Get over here, there¡¯s a student that needs urgent care!¡± the receptionist yelled. As Damon and the brown haired boy waited, Damon heard the person beside him say something. ¡°Leon, call me Leon. My full name is Leon Rojas, call me by my name, so it won¡¯t be as awkward.¡± ¡°Sure thing Leon, thanks for the help, I will make sure to pay you back.¡± Leon¡¯s face lit up with a smile in response to Damon¡¯s words. He seemed glad that they had become friends without problems. Then, the doctor arrived in front of them. He was a middle aged man, with black hair and brown eyes. He was about 5 foot 7, around the same height as Leon. The man looked like a typical doctor, a white coat along with a stereoscope around his neck. He motioned his hand in a follow me gesture. ¡°Come this way, I¡¯ll patch you up, and heal your wounds.¡± The doctor proceeded to walk towards the hallway at the back of the infirmary that contained the patient rooms. When they entered, Damon instantly went and lay on the bed, seemingly very tired and in pain. The doctor motioned for Leon to exit the room, so he could focus on the healing. Throughout the world, magic had developed tremendously. People could control magic better, therefore they found many more ways to utilize it, including healing. Doctors around the world made many technological discoveries with the help of magic. Diseases and illnesses that couldn¡¯t have previously been cured, now had cures, such as cancer. The Royal Academy¡¯s Infirmary helped students using healing magic. It was now the standard of the medicinal world to have the ability to treat injuries and other things that could potentially harm humans. After Leon left, the doctor started the healing process. He brought out his hands from his pockets and hovered them over Damon¡¯s body. He chanted some unrecognizable words, and suddenly, green light spewed forth from his hands. ¡°This might hurt a bit,¡± said the doctor in an attempt to comfort him, Then, the green light connected from the healer¡¯s hands and connected to Damon, enveloping him in the same light. Damon felt a warm feeling as his wounds started to close. The feeling was like taking a hot bath after a long day of hard work. It felt like bliss to Damon, who had just experienced healing magic for the first time. His bones knit themselves back together, his mind calmed down, and all the tension in his body was released. After approximately a minute, the doctor finally stopped. ¡°You should be fine now,¡± The doctor helped Damon up and showed him a mirror. His reflection was clean, and rid of all the injuries inflicted on him from before. Healing magic sure works wonders! Damon continued examining himself until he was satisfied that he was completely back to his old self. Then, he walked back towards the waiting room. Damon was greeted by Leon, who had a relieved expression on his face. ¡°Do you feel better?¡± ¡°If you mean not having to suffer from broken ribs, then yeah, I guess,¡± remarked Damon, sarcastically. After thanking the doctor, the two boys headed out of the infirmary. Leon asked about how Damon had ended up in that state, and Damon explained. They headed towards the Training Hall once again, to finish the Class Placement Exam. They walked in through the door, everything was the same as before, people hustling about, minding their own business. Damon looked around the room for Rachel, wanting an explanation, but he stumbled upon an unexpected person. They were staring straight at Damon. Damon¡¯s eyes widened in surprise as his gaze met with the person in front of him. What?! Why is THAT person here?! Chapter 5 - Childhood Friend Standing 5 feet in front of him was a girl with bright blue eyes, long hair as crimson as blood, and a cute face that resembled that of anime girls¡¯. She was shorter than Damon, about 5 feet 6, but the aura she gave off made it seem like she was towering above him. The two students studied each other for some time, Damon because he was speechless, and the girl, because she was waiting for him to talk first. ¡°W-what are you doing here Kalli? I thought you were still visiting your parents in France!¡± ¡°Always getting straight to the point I see. Well, I came here because I heard you were attending The Royal Academy, plus it¡¯s the best Academy in England, probably the best in all of Europe too.¡± Damon gave Kalli a puzzled look. He seemed like he was deep in thought over why this certain person was here. ¡°Where did you hear that I was attending this Academy? I swear no one else knew other than me and the school.¡± Kalli gave Damon a sly smile that creeped him out. While the two people were conversing, Leon went off to the side, trying to observe the conversation attentively. He was continuously eyeing the girl he thought was cute, in front of him, while trying not to be caught in the act of doing so. ¡°Honestly, I didn¡¯t know that you were attending here either. It was just a coincidence that I somehow managed to meet my wonderful childhood friend once again,¡± Kalli said sarcastically, with a smirk on her face. Damon¡¯s face flushed red when Kalli handed out a compliment. His hands could be seen sweating a little, so he hid them behind his back, as he continued the conversation. Leon inwardly muttered to himself about would of having reacted the same if a girl like that gave him a compliment, while feeling a little down that Damon had such a beautiful girl as a childhood friend. ¡°H-how about we take a seat on a table, so we can talk comfortably?¡± ¡°Sure,¡± Kalli said while she sauntered towards a table, pulling Damon by his arms. Damon¡¯s face turned redder than before from this tiny action. He seemed to have some weird thoughts going through his head. Once the 3 individuals sat down, Kalli started explaining about how she ended up at The Royal Academy along with how she and Damon had become childhood friends to the confused Leon. Kalli Reid¡¯s parents were good friends with Damon¡¯s mom when they were little. Before Omega, their parents had attended the same University together, and slowly bonded over time. When the Kalli and Damon were born, they hanged out every weekend that they could have, playing together at the park, or at each other¡¯s houses. Kalli¡¯s family had lived in England before Omega, a close distance to Damon¡¯s house, but a few years after Omega, Kalli¡¯s mom and dad had mastered their skills they had awakened, and were offered a high paying job in France. That¡¯s why they were spectated but they still stayed in touch. Both families were happy until something happened. ¡°The day my mom¡¡± Damon barely whispered those words, but his voice was clearly shaken. His friends didn¡¯t hear them and continued on with their conversation casually. ¡°Ahhh, I feel like I understand a little more about the situation now,¡± exclaimed Leon. ¡°My name¡¯s Leon if you didn¡¯t know already. Leon Rojas.¡±Support the creativity of authors by visiting Royal Road for this novel and more. ¡°I¡¯m Kalli, I¡¯m happy to see that Damon actually somehow made one friend,¡± said Kalli in a mocking tone as she looked at Damon. ¡°He hasn¡¯t made any friends throughout elementary school and middle school.¡± ¡°Hey! That isn¡¯t true, don¡¯t listen to her Leon!¡± The group started laughing at the hilarious remarks everyone was making. When they calmed down, Kalli put on a serious expression and started explaining the important reason why she had applied for The Royal Academy. The atmosphere instantly altered to that of seriousness. ¡°Damon, listen carefully to what I am about to say¡± She motioned for Damon to come closer, and once he did, she whispered something in his ear Damon¡®s face turned pale, and he had a disorientated expression on his face. He started shivering, and started to frantically look around the room, seemingly looking for someone. Kalli immediately stopped what Damon was doing and told him to calm down. ¡°What are you doing? I said in the next month! Not today! Why are you acting so afraid when we¡¯re right here?¡± What did she mean by what she said? Damon was thinking, while completely deaf to what his friend was saying. Why are so many unfortunate things happening to me! ¡°Damon! Damon! Snap out of it,¡± Kalli quietly shouted, so no one else would hear, while also shaking Damon. Her combination of words and actions caused Damon to return back to his senses. Leon had a bewildered expression painted on his face. He had no clue what was happening. Damon stopped his shivering and looked towards his two friends, at ease once more. ¡°Is what you said right now the truth? If it is, how did you even obtain this information?¡± Damon could feel his heart thumping faster, because if what Kalli said was the truth, he was pretty much screwed. Please tell me it¡¯s a joke. Please! ¡°I overheard my parents talking about it in their study one night. They were concerned about you, so I decided to take action, and come here to warn you about it. Little did I know, someone somehow heard I was coming to give you a warning, and delayed trip by a few days. Otherwise, I would¡¯ve told you sooner, and stopped you from going to school.¡± Kalli recalled. ¡°Thanks for telling me though, I¡¯ll be more aware starting from now.¡± Leon was squirming in his seat wondering if he should ask about what they were talking about. Right before he gathered the courage to ask, Kalli started speaking again. She stared at Damon once again. ¡°Make sure not to tell anyone! It¡¯ll endanger you more than you already are,¡± insisted Kalli. ¡°Even Leon over here, do not tell him until you are 100% sure you can place your trust in him.¡± ¡°Ok, ok, you can stop your nagging now, I understand.¡± Damon was back to normal, speaking as he normally would. ¡°I owe you one Kalli, I sincerely thank you and will make sure to pay back this favour in full. I promise¡± Damon replied sincerely and from his heart. He intended to keep this promise, along with the one he made to Leon at the Infirmary. Ask anytime, you can ask for anything you want. Kalli¡¯s face turned red, but she quickly stood up and turned around. When Damon had said that, her heart had fluttered a bit. ¡°I-I will be going then! S-see you later!¡± Kalli rushed out of the Training Hall, no longer needing to stay, because she had finished her Class Placement exam. Her face still red even though she had left Damon¡¯s presence. She placed her hands on her red cheeks and slapped herself softly once. She focused back on her walking. ¡°Oh wait, I forgot to tell Damon what class I¡¯m in! Oh well, I¡¯ll tell him later,¡± thought Kalli as she was walking toward her dorm, still a little flustered about what Damon had said. Damon and Leon were still sitting at the table, discussing among themselves. ¡°Come on Damon, tell me, please? I¡¯ll even consider this as the favour you promised me!¡± Hmm, if I tell Leon, he could protect me as well. He doesn¡¯t seem like too bad of a guy, considering that he brought me to the infirmary even though he didn¡¯t have to. Also, I won¡¯t owe him a favour anymore. Still, Kalli said not to tell anyone, that means not even Leon. ¡±Sorry Leon, I¡¯ll pay you back in another way later.¡± Leon felt left out, but even if he was just a little bit sad, he couldn¡¯t change the fact that Damon wouldn¡¯t tell him the secret. ¡°Can you at least give me a hint?¡± asked Leon with a curious expression on his face. ¡°I need to get stronger as quickly as possible, so I can defend myself when I need it,¡± declared Damon. What caused this fierce desire for strength, was caused by Kalli¡¯s words, which seemed like something very important to Damon, depicting a situation where he could risk losing everything in the blink of an eye. Something so significant that it had caused him to shiver with fear and lose his sense of reason just from hearing the words. Damon had become the target of an assassination. Chapter 6 - Knowledge Test [Training Hall] It was finally time to complete the final part of the Class Placement Exam. The knowledge test; both Damon and Leon had not done it yet, so they decided to wait in line together, still mulling over their talk with Kalli. ¡°Just forget about it for now Leon. I don¡¯t wanna talk about it, we have enough time to train anyways.¡± Damon was currently talking with Leon, they were almost at the front of the line for the test. ¡°Ok man, I¡¯m just saying. If something happens, I don¡¯t know anything, ok, so don¡¯t blame anything on me.¡± Leon was having fun with his jokes, but Damon had taken it seriously. ¡°How am I going to blame you if I¡¯m dead?¡± Leon told Damon it was a joke, and Leon was surprised by the sudden statement about someone being dead. The 2 friends continued to joke around, not minding what Damon said until it was finally their turn to take the knowledge test. The area where the knowledge test was taking place was a square shaped room that was normally filled with equipment, but it was all taken out to give room for desks and chairs. The walls were painted white, and there weren¡¯t any windows. The only decoration was a clock on the wall. This seems more like an infirmary than the actual infirmary. The room could hold about 20 students at a time; Damon and Leon entered along with 18 other students. They took the seats at the front, next to each other, while the others slowly filed in one by one, and sat down. No one talked to each other, because they were afraid that the instructor would kick them out like the other students that had talked while taking the test. The instructor entered once everyone was seated and started explaining the rules while simultaneously handing out the tests along with No. 2 pencils. The rules were that you had an hour to finish, no cheating in any way, and talking will result in a fail. Once the rules were explained and everyone had obtained a piece of paper and pencil, the instructor said that they could start, and just like that, the knowledge test had begun. This doesn¡¯t look too hard. It¡¯s simple math problems! At least the Academy resembles a real school in this one aspect! Unauthorized content usage: if you discover this narrative on Amazon, report the violation. The knowledge test was simply grade school math problems. Damon was excellent at math in middle school, so he solved the questions with ease. Leon on the other hand, was struggling with his answers. He performed the Physical Combat and Magic Tests well, but it seemed like he spent too much time on his body and not his brain. The two guys continued like that for the hour, Damon finishing early and taking time to check his work, while Leon on the other hand, taking 5 or more minutes to solve one question. The other students were in similar situations, because most of them prioritized their training over studying. Therefore, they were having difficulty with the knowledge test. 1 hour later ¡°That was soooo hard, right Damon?¡± ¡°No, that was pretty easy, I thought I was in middle school again!¡± ¡°You sure? Those questions were hard for everyone in that room, I looked around and saw a lot of people with scrunched up faces in there.¡± ¡°Oh really? I guess I just studied a lot more on math than training skills, since I don¡¯t have any.¡± Leon was surprised at what he said. His head instantly turned around with his mouth hanging wide open. ¡°I was good at math ok?¡± ¡°No! Not that! T-the other apart about your skills! You don¡¯t have any?¡± Leon rapid fired a bunch of questions, Damon didn¡¯t even have time to react with all of them, because Leon continued talking. ¡°I get it now¡ no wonder you were beat up for what happened to Siena. A commoner with no powers beating up a noble, huh.¡± Leon had answered his own question before Damon could do anything. Damon was feeling a bit hurt that Leon cared so much about skills, almost as much as Rachel. Also, he used the term ¡°commoner¡± which left a bad taste in Damon¡¯s mouth. ¡°Is there a problem with that? Not having skills and still beating that brat Siena?¡± ¡°No no no! There¡¯s nothing wrong with that. I was just a bit surprised that you didn¡¯t have any skills.¡± Leon stammered. ¡°It¡¯s just that everyone other than you has skills in this school. It¡¯s a requirement, so how did you even get in?¡± ¡°I don¡¯t know, I just received an envelope in my mailbox saying that I was accepted, that¡¯s all. I don¡¯t remember seeing any requirements to enter The Royal Academy.¡± Leon was lost in thought, but he eventually gave up because he couldn¡¯t figure anything out. ¡°Let¡¯s just forget about it, and wait for the Class Placement Exam results.¡± Damon agreed, and they went and sat down on a bench, waiting for the results to be released. They had to give time for the instructors to mark the individual tests and give suitable assessments for each student. It took some time and it was was around 12:00 pm when the rankings were finally revealed. There were a bunch of names under each label from Class F to Class S on a board the size of a small billboard. Class S was the highest ranked class that could be seen on the board. The lowest ranked class was on the left, being Class-F. It went from low to high starting from left to right. Only nobles and the wealthy were in the higher up classes throughout The Royal Academy¡¯s history, They had the most resources to train their skills, so naturally, they were at the top. Most of the commoners were Class C and down, but the number of commoners in Class C could be counted on one hand. Damon and Leon walked up to the board to check their rankings. Many other students were doing the same thing, nervous about what class they would be in. ¡°What class do you think I¡¯ll be in?¡± Leon asked. ¡°I don¡¯t know. I haven¡¯t seen your abilities yet, so I have no clue.¡± ¡°Let¡¯s hope we¡¯re in the same class though!¡± They walked towards the board, hoping for a high rank, which was the same thing everyone else was thinking. They started at the left side moving their way to the right while scanning the board. Their hopes rose higher and higher the more they read. After getting through all the classes, it was the last class. The one to the very right. The two boys tensed up as they finally laid their eyes upon the board and scanned the final class. Damon and Leon finally saw their names, right next to each other in the same section. There hearts beat wildly as their faces expressed disbelief. They were speechless at the results of their efforts. Not only were they in the same class. They were also in¡ Class-S. Chapter 7 - Class-S Damon and Leon found out that they were in the famous Class-S together. They were shocked beyond imagination. Out of all the students that wanted to get in Class-S, they were the ones chosen! What caused me to be put in this class? Me of all people! Leon, on the other hand, was shaking with joy. Damon swore that he could actually hear his heart jumping around. ¡°No way! We made it to Class-S Damon!¡± Damon attempted to quiet Leon down, because they were getting many cold stares from the other students that had not been as fortunate as them. Suddenly, an announcement resonated throughout the Training Hall. (Students who have been admitted to Class-S, please come to classroom 127 for your special briefing. We will be starting in 15 mins.) ¡°Guess we gotta run to classroom 127. I wonder what our classmates are gonna be like. I didn¡¯t recognize any other names other than ours on the board.¡± ¡°Let¡¯s worry about that later, we need to go now.¡± Damon said with a resolute tone. The pair walked out of the Training Hall while many people stared at their backs. A familiar group was watching Damon carefully, as if they were stalkers. This group of guys immediately walked towards another familiar girl with purple hair once Damon and Leon had left the area. ¡°What should we do about that guy, leader?¡± The biggest guy of the group addressed Rachel in a polite tone. He, a Middle Ranker dared not to offend the High Ranker he was talking to. Rachel looked at the leader of the group and gave him his orders. ¡°Don¡¯t do anything now. I don''t know what tricks he pulled to get into Class-S, but you can¡¯t deal with him now. I''ll take action because that lowly commoner is somehow in my class! A class that is supposed to be for nobles and the rich!.¡± Rachel was talking spitefully, as if Damon was an insect that needed to be crushed. She hated commoners more than anything else, especially if he was ranked in the same class as her. A well respected noble! ¡°Gather information for me. Look into his background, and if he¡¯s actually hiding his skills on purpose. There¡¯s no other way to get into this academy, much less Class-S!¡± ¡°We will make sure to do that, Ma''am.¡± The group of boys exited the hall and went to look into Damon¡¯s background. Damon was obviously oblivious to this huge event concerning him. He was too busy trying to find classroom 127! *** [The Royal Academy, Main Campus, 1st Floor] ¡°Where are we! Do you have the map?¡± Leon was currently having trouble leading Damon to the briefing room; they were lost. ¡°Hand me the campus layout paper! I¡¯ll do the leading from now on.¡± Damon snatched the paper away from Leon quite forcefully. It seemed that he was annoyed that they might be late for the very important meeting because of such a careless mistake! Damon finally spotted where the class was and started walking towards that direction, but they stopped abruptly. Standing in front of them was a person clad in black, seemingly one with the shadows. He looked like a man, but you couldn¡¯t tell from their appearance. This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version. Damon and Leon froze in their spots. The murderous vibe that the person was giving off was so strong that the two boys immediately got the thought to get as far away as possible. The man in black eyed Damon and then Leon. The vibe he had earlier changed and his clothes turned to that of a teacher! A pure white uniform with a tie. ¡°Hello students! Sorry for scaring you there, I was just monitoring the school grounds and I just came back.¡± The man¡¯s voice was deep, but soothing. It didn¡¯t match the vibe from before, but Damon and Leon decided to just forget about it. Leave it in the back corner of their mind until they actually needed it. ¡°Yeah, we¡¯re here for the briefing for Class-S students. Are you our teacher?¡± said Leon, while still wary of the man. ¡°As a matter of fact, I am your teacher! You can call just call me Dan. I don¡¯t give out my name, because it¡¯s a business thing.¡± Dan smiled at Leon and told them to go in the class and wait for the meeting to start. ¡°I¡¯ll be there in a minute, I just need to get something,¡± said Dan as he rushed off somewhere. Damon and Leon walked in the room, silently agreeing to not talk about their encounter. They could hear many voices coming from the room, but not as many as they thought. Class-S was a special class, only for those that had exceptional abilities. Therefore, the class currently only had 10 students in it. An equal amount of boys and girls were present, sitting on chairs while talking in their respective groups. Damon¡¯s first impression of the classroom was that it was big. It was a 100m by 100m room with its own personal training centre along with an area designated for eating and learning. It looked like a classic university lecture hall, with the benches going upwards in rows starting from the front of the room. There was a huge blackboard at the front, and Class-S Meeting was written on it. The 8 other students were sitting on the benches and chatting away, but once Damon and his friend entered, the class quieted down and stared at them. Damon could see 2 people he was familiar with. Siena and Rachel, sitting side by side giving Damon dirty looks. The other students went back to chatting with each other once they realized Damon and Leon weren¡¯t anything special. Damon walked into the room and took an empty seat. Leon sat beside him. They were at the front most set of benches where it was empty. There were only 10 students after all, so many seats were vacant. Siena and Rachel started to stand up, while giving Damon piercing gazes. They looked like they were about to start a fight. They¡¯re expressions and curled fists clearly indicated that, but before they could do or say anything, the classroom door opened. ¡°Hello class. I¡¯ll be your teacher for this year. My name¡¯s Dan, nice to meet you all!¡± The man in black (now white) greeted Class-S with the same joyous tone he had before when he talked with Damon and Leon. Then, Danproceeded to get everyone to introduce themselves. Rachel went first. ¡°Hi, my name¡¯s Rachel! It¡¯s a pleasure to be your classmate everyone!¡± Rachel sounded like she was giving a rehearsed speech, all the sentences sounded like they were planned out to give out the perfect result she desired. She talked whithout a hint of negative emotions until she said a particular sentence. ¡°Except for that guy over there. He¡¯s a lowly commoner that tried to rape me!¡± Rachel pointed at Damon with disgust, while also adding disgust into her voice. She was trying to convince the class that he had done something wrong! ¡°W-what are you saying? I never did something like that! That¡¯s a false claim!¡± Damon raised his hands up in exasperation. He was confused and angry at the same time. He had been falsely accused by this noble girl, and now everyone was giving him suspicious looks! ¡°Stop lying! All I did was talk to you, and even then, you insulted me for being a commoner!¡± Damon retorted. The class stared at Damon with cold expressions. The 5 girls and 3 boys started agreeing with Rachel. ¡°That sounds like something a commoner that doesn¡¯t know his place would do.¡± ¡°Yeah, we should believe Rachel. After all, she¡¯s part of the Hamlet family.¡± ¡°How dare a scumbag like him try to rape her! He should be expelled out of this school instantly!¡± The students shouted out loud, insulting and accusing Damon of something he didn¡¯t do. Before Damon could yell out in a fit of rage, Dan interrupted them. ¡°Let¡¯s leave whatever you¡¯re talking about for later ok? We¡¯ve got a meeting to get on with, so continue your arguments later.¡± Dan calmed the class down, but Damon kept getting disgusted and horrified gazes from the other Class-S students. From this situation, it was clearly shown that the nobles that attended the school hated commoners. It was enough that they made it to Class-C, but one making it to Class-S? It was too much for them to handle. That¡¯s why they criticized Damon even though there was no solid evidence to what Rachel had claimed she had experienced. Siena was looking at him with pity for some reason. She was probably mad that Damon had beaten her in the Physical Combat test, so even she joined in on the argument. Still though, whenever Damon looked at her, she turned her eyes away as if she was shy. She also didn¡¯t contribute much to the crowd when they were making fun of him. Maybe Siena isn¡¯t so bad after all? That time she challenged me in the test might just have been a misunderstanding right? After all, she didn¡¯t even look at me until after she received some kind of signal back at the ring. Damon shut away his negative feelings for now. He was used to doing it, so it wasn¡¯t so hard, and concentrated on his train of thought. I still don¡¯t know if she¡¯s completely innocent though. I will have to gather more information later. For now, let¡¯s just listen to Dan. Damon stopped thinking about finding at least one more ally in this class other than Leon. He would do that at a later date. Right now, he needed to concentrate on Dan, so he could understand how the school worked, and learn about other important information. Damon focused onto the figure standing at the front of the room, ¡°So this meeting will contain all the information you need in able for you to be a Class-S student at The Royal Academy. The school operates like this¡¡± The first meeting in the soon to be famous Class-S had begun. Chapter 8 - The Trip 1 hour later¡ Damon and Leon were still sitting in their benches, thinking about all the information they had just gathered. A lot of it was just things about the school such as how it was founded, its history and that type of stuff. Dan also explained where everything was located in the school along with how their school year road map would look like. There was a lot more general things as well. An example would be information about when you got summer break, winter break etc. Also, how many years you would stay at the school. Currently, you had to attend the academy for either 4 years, or prove you had the ability to graduate. Damon had focused more on the school year roadmap for Class-S though. For the first part of the year, they would be training in physical combat. There was an upcoming trip that was going to happen within a month as well. For the second part, it would be magic and monster knowledge training. Official classes were going to start tomorrow is what Dan had announced. Damon and Leon had the rest of the afternoon to do whatever they liked, and they decided to tour around the school. They visited the library, school cafeteria, and the sports clubs areas. They also explored the side sections of the training hall dedicated to different training methods for different people. There was a shooting range for long range attack types, dummies to practice hand to hand combat on, and even a gravity room for training under different levels of gravities. *** 3 PM ¡°Wow, this school sure is big,¡± said Leon. ¡°Yep it is.¡± Damon was talking to Leon at the front gate, right before they were about to leave. School ended at 2:40 pm and the two friends were departing in different directions. Leon lived in the school dorm, so he couldn¡¯t walk home with Damon. ¡°It has its own dorm as well. I¡¯m living there, so sadly, I won¡¯t be able to talk to you for any longer.¡± ¡°That¡¯s ok. We¡¯ll have plenty of time to talk tomorrow.¡± Damon bid Leon farewell and walked off the school campus towards his apartment. He felt a little sad that he couldn¡¯t talk to his new friend for longer, but he had no choice. He looked back and saw that Leon had done the same. They gave each other a smile and finally turned around and left towards their respective destinations.Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more. What a tiresome day. I made one friend at least, but a lot more enemies¡ Damon was sitting on his bed, while replaying the day inside his head. He had brought some chips from his kitchen and was munching on them. Every bite making some crunching sounds, but leaving crumbs on his bed. He did not care though, because he was too busy thinking of the consequences of making so many enemies. Especially that group of thugs that beat him up. Damon was almost 100% sure that Rachel was the one that ordered them to attack him. When I get the chance, I¡¯ll ask her why she did it. If it¡¯s an unreasonable explanation¡ I¡¯ll make sure to thoroughly destroy her, High Ranker or not. I¡¯ll get rid of her lackeys too - damn bitch. He lay down on his bed, drowsy from all the events that had unfolded throughout the day. Slowly, his consciousness drifted away and he closed his eyes. The day had finally ended. *** January 24, 2023 Damon did everything he had done yesterday, basically his morning routine. After that, he walked towards school. He was looking forward to conversing with Leon, and finding out how an Academy actually taught their students. Would they be like any other boring high school, or would it be action packed with practice fights between students? Damon didn¡¯t know, but he wanted to find out, so he quickened his pace in order to get to school a bit earlier.. As Damon got closer to the front gate, he could make out a figure leaning on a wall, with his backpack slung across his shoulder. Leon greeted Damon with a pat on the back and the two of them walked towards Classroom 127. [Classroom 127] When Damon and Leon entered, it was loud because everyone was talking to each other in excited voices. But the moment they entered, the noise level went down surprisingly quick. It was the same as blasting music at the max volume, but clicking the mute button all of a sudden. It went that quiet that fast. The whole class gave Damon piercing glares, probably still hung over on what Rachel had boldly declared yesterday. I¡¯ll just ignore them. If they treat me like that, they aren¡¯t worth talking to anyways. This gives me more reason to beat that purple haired brat up when I get the chance. ¡°Just ignore them, they aren¡¯t worth your time.¡± Leon said in an empathetic tone. Leon had said the exact words he was thinking. Damon was a bit touched that Leon cared for him, even if it was just this once. He had finally experienced what having a real friend felt like, and he was satisfied with it. They walked towards the benches while still receiving the glares from the other students. They sat at the farthest seats from the front, side by side. The view was to Damon¡¯s liking even though it was a bit far away. At least, he didn¡¯t have to look at his classmates¡¯ hateful expressions of him. At 7:30, the bell rang and Dan strolled in. He said in an pleasant voice, ¡°Good morning class! Hope you had a wonderful time touring the school yesterday!¡± The class listened to Dan¡¯s greeting with anticipation of what he was going to say next. In the briefing yesterday, he had explained something about a trip to an abandoned dragon¡¯s cave. Everyone was eager to go, so they waited for Dan to explain the trip. Finally, after his lengthy greeting, he finally started talking about the awaited upon subject. ¡°So class, we will be going on a trip tomorrow~, to an abandoned dragon¡¯s cave! Make sure to bring¡¡± Damon¡¯s mind started thinking, drowning out Dan¡¯s voice. He was excited for the trip, but he wasn¡¯t sure if he should go or not. He had a ominous feeling that something would happen if he attended. What if those people that Kalli told me about attack? What then? Damon dreaded for the near future. What if he died? He¡¯d be really mad if he died pointlessly, all because of making one wrong decision to attend an unimportant field trip. What are the chances though? The attack will be within a month, not exactly tomorrow right? It''s not like I have to atten- His thoughts were cut short by his teacher who made an announcement that left Damon dismayed. He longer had any options left to choose from, he now only had one choice. ¡°Tomorrow''s trip will be mandatory, please bring everything you need and make sure not to be late.¡± Chapter 9 - Lunch Break ¡°Hey, why do you look so down? Is it because of that ¡®thing¡¯ your other friend said?¡± said Leon while he tried to comfort the disheartened Damon. ¡°If it is, don¡¯t worry! I have plenty of strength to protect us in case of an assault,¡± boasted Leon in an attempt to lighten the mood. Damon was in the cafeteria on lunch break with his brown-haired friend. The cafeteria had a rectangle like shape, with two floors. Many food vendors could be seen selling their dishes to the students hungrily waiting for them. There were two spiral staircases on either side of the room that led upstairs to where the eating area was. There were many long tables with chairs that students of the Academy were sitting on. The whole second floor was littered with them. Damon was sitting on one such table, eating some type of sandwich while listening to Leon blabber some words. His eyes were unfocused, as if he couldn¡¯t think properly. The sandwich tasted bland as he chewed, causing Damon to gag a little. ¡°Damon, get a hold of yourself. It¡¯s just a school trip. What¡¯s the worst that can happen?¡± Damon glowered towards his right, directly into Leon¡¯s eyes as if trying to convey a message through eye contact. The message was something like ¡°my life being lost is the worst that can happen-duh~.¡± After he gave his fierce gaze, he went back to munching on his sandwich while Leon stammered, trying to get a good comeback in. Suddenly, a lunch tray was placed on the opposite side of the table. Smooth, pale hands could be seen on either side of the tray, and a female uniform could be spotted when she sat down. Damon glanced upwards to see who it was that decided to sit with them. As his gaze moved up, he could see some features of the girl. Crimson hair, and a familiar set of bright blue eyes. Before Damon could say something to his childhood friend, Leon blurted out a greeting.. ¡°H-hey Kalli! How nice of you to join us for l-lunch! If you don¡¯t remember me, my name is L-leon!¡± He could barely get out those sentences as Damon could visibly see his face turning a reddish hue. Kalli gave Leon a small smile before starting to eat her lunch. She didn¡¯t say a word, and just focused on her food. Damon expected her to say something, anything that would provide him with some insight on the situation. Unfortunately, that didn¡¯t happen like Damon had wanted. He was too obsessed with gathering information that he didn¡¯t even spare the time to give Kalli a proper greeting. Therefore, Damon decided to introduce the topic first to get the information he needed. ¡°Hey Kalli-¡± Damon started to say, but was cut off by another voice. Kalli had started talking, but in a light tone unlike what he had been expecting.Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon. ¡°I know what you''re going to say. Just forget I said anything ok?¡± said Kalli while opening a pack of crackers. ¡°My class is attending the trip anyways, so you don¡¯t have to worry. Who would dare attack two classes?¡± ¡°What class are you in anyways?¡± questioned Leon, seemingly back to normal. ¡°Ah, that. Well, I¡¯m in Class-A,¡± sighed Kalli. ¡°I wanted to make it into the same class as you guys, but sadly, I couldn¡¯t. Still, the two highest ranked classes go on trips together, so it¡¯s not like we¡¯ll be separated all~ the time.¡± ¡°Oho, so you aren¡¯t that unskilled? From the impression I got-¡± Leon¡¯s words didn¡¯t make it out of his mouth, because a piece of bread was stuck in it. Kalli had made a very calculated throw in a fit of anger to shut Leon up. Before a small fight could break out in the cafeteria, Damon voiced his opinion out loud and the conclusion he came to. Damon had thought about it for a while and finally made a decision. He¡¯d just leave it as it is, he wasn¡¯t going to do anything. I¡¯m overthinking it, just do what everyone else is doing, no need to take any extra unnecessary actions. ¡°Let¡¯s have fun tomorrow at the cave guys. We will enjoy this rare occasion that we get to see a real dragon¡¯s cave.¡± It seemed like Damon had made the prefered choice because his friends had grins plastered on their faces the moment he spoke those words. ¡°Nice choice!¡± ¡°That¡¯s the first time you said something that actually made sense, muttered Kalli while rolling her eyes with a smirk on her face. ¡°What did you say? Do you want to start a fight, huh?¡± Damon could only inwardly laugh as he was filled with energy once again from the duo¡¯s constant bickering. They sure are some nice friends, aren¡¯t they. It¡¯d be nice if nothing bad happened to them because of my risky choice. Damon could feel the urge to stop the bickering, but it was too difficult for Damon to handle. Well, if you can¡¯t beat them, join them. With that thought in mind, he joined in on the conversation with jokes already prepared in his mind. *** [Unknown Location] ¡°Are you all prepared for tomorrow?¡± asked a man shrouded in darkness. He received many nods from the people sitting around the table. The room these 8 men were in was bland, with only a table and 8 chairs. The surroundings were rocky and holes littered the ground. Not a hint of sunlight could be seen, but these people could see each other very clearly. It was as if the darkness didn¡¯t hinder them one bit. ¡°Make sure to do the job thoroughly, and make sure all witnesses are taken care of. We cannot be noticed. I repeat, we cannot be noticed. Doing so will result in the discovery of our whereabouts and bring about our demise,¡± ordered the man sitting at the head of the table. He was the leader of this particular group of people, and was in charge of making sure the plan was carried out flawlessly. He received a direct order from ¡®Him¡¯ so he had to make sure the plan succeeded no matter what. Failing to do so would result in unimaginable consequences. ¡°Gather everything you need, we¡¯re heading towards the location soon.¡± The leader shouted at the other men to get ready. They carefully stood up and went separate directions to prepare. They were very obedient, just like professionally trained dogs. ¡°Be here within 1 hour with all of the necessary equipment so we can arrive before the break of dawn,¡± said the man with conviction. He was planning on succeeding and giving a good impression of himself to ¡®Him¡¯. He sat back down in his chair with a mischievous smile on his face. He couldn¡¯t wait for tomorrow. Chapter 10 - Trip Commences! January 25, 2023 ¡°Is everybody here? I¡¯m doing the head count now!¡± yelled out Dan while standing in front of a magic portal. The magic portal was one such machine that had been invented due to the advancement in technology. It operated using spatial magic, which had been infused into a mana crystal by a spatial magician. It was a purplish blue color with no clear border or frame. If you focused too much, it would basically become transparent, and it would seem like there was nothing there. It was the morning of the awaited class field trip. Class-S and Class-A were lined up in lines, single file, and the teachers of the respective classes were doing a headcount. They also searched through the students¡¯ bags, confiscating all prohibited things and depositing it in a big gray box. Damon was standing in front of Leon, who was excited for the trip, yet hesitant at the same time. Kalli could be spotted in the opposite line, directly side by side to Damon. She was talking to another girl, but she occasionally glanced at him. She didn¡¯t do or say anything though. Kalli stood there as if she was oblivious to Damon and Leon¡¯s presences. The two boys were doing the same, but they weren¡¯t doing it on purpose. They were totally clueless of their surroundings , and someone could easily spot the cause of that. Rachel and Siena were standing right in front of them in line with grumpy looks painted on their faces. They pretended that Damon wasn¡¯t even there and faced forward, while engaging in a conversation with each other. The two boys likewise did the same. The two groups didn¡¯t even glance at each other once. There was practically sparks flying in the air, showing the distaste and discomfort from being within a few meters of each other After a few minutes had passed, Dan and the teacher of Class-A, Nick, starting announcing the rules and guidelines of the trip. Everyone¡¯s ears perked up and they started listening attentively to the two teachers. ¡°Today, we will be going to a dragon¡¯s cave as a field trip. I¡¯m sure everyone is already aware of that. Before we arrive though, we will explain the rules you must follow if you want to return safe and sound.¡± Nick¡¯s voice sounded like the opposite of Dan¡¯s. It was high pitched, almost sounding like a girl¡¯s, but the concern in his voice for everyone''s safety could clearly be discerned. The cave may had been abandoned, but anything could happen in there. The only protection from monsters and the like were the two teachers, but they were certain that it was fine. They had scouted out the area before and even informed the company managing the cave. The company had said it was perfectly safe, so the two classes had the chance to explore it. ¡°You will have to travel in groups of four for your own safety. We will be choosing the groups for you. No complaining you hear?¡± declared Dan. There were still many complaints thrown out and lots of sighing could be heard from the students though. They definitely wanted to go with their friends, but what could they do? They stood in line with dejected faces from the unfairness that was being thrown upon them.Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. The teachers started counting ¡°one, two, three, four¡± over and over again, grouping students together. After a while, Dan stood in front of Damon, Leon and the two girls in front of them. He had a wicked smile on his face when he stood in front of the four as if he had something up his sleeve. ¡°You four- Damon, Leon, Rachel, and Siena will be in a group together.¡± ¡°WAIT, WHY!¡± screamed Rachel and Siena at the same time. The two noble girls immediately started complaining loudly enough for all the students to hear. ¡°Can¡¯t you group us with someone else? Anyone other than that kid over there! PLEASE!¡± Rachel and Siena were practically pleading with Dan to get grouped up with somebody else. They even fell to their knees and started repeating the same line over and over again. Huh, so they hate me that much eh? Wait till we get to the cave, once no one can see us, you¡¯ll be in for a beating you assholes. I¡¯ll make sure you get to experience EXACTLY what you made me go through on the first day. Why was it on the fucking first day of school, dammit! Dan started to explain his reasoning in a calm and relaxed manner. ¡°Well, you guys seemed like you knew each other, right? What with you girls shouting at the top of your lungs to these boys right when they entered class. Wouldn¡¯t you love to bond a bit with them more on this trip?¡± Hmph! Both girls turned their backs on Dan, who had a big smile plastered on his face. Nobody knew that this choice would actually have a very severe consequence. Something that would cause Dan to painfully regret his foolish actions for a lengthy amount of time. Finally, all the groups were chosen. The teachers started directing the kids through the portal one at a time. Dan had went first, and he would be waiting on the other side. Nick, the teacher of Class-A was the one guiding the students though. Damon and Leon stood facing Rachel and Siena. Before the girls could utter out harsh remarks, Nick called on them to be the next ones to go through. The four students hesitantly walked forward into the portal. Damon felt a slight chill, and his vision blurred. He could hear his stomach protesting from the sudden movement. Damon felt like throwing up from it as he walked through an unknown space. Why is it taking so long to get through to the cave? Isn¡¯t it supposed to be instantaneous? This feeling alone makes me regret going through this detestable portal! Damon couldn¡¯t see the exit yet even though a few dozens of seconds had already passed by. Suddenly, he could see a distant object floating in the purplish space connecting the two portals. On closer inspection, it had a face and a body, but it was too small to be a human. Damon was shocked so much that the teleportation feeling completely disappeared. There were a pair of majestic, white wings attached to the back too! Damon couldn¡¯t make out anymore features of the angel-like being that had appeared out of nowhere. He looked away from the mysterious person and finally saw the exit. It was in the shape of a circle with flashing lights surrounding it. I¡¯m so relieved and overjoyed, I thought there was a problem with the machine and I¡¯d get stuck in here forever! That thing was starting to creep me out. If it starts talking, then- As Damon started to walk out with that thought in his head, he could make out a voice coming from the direction of the tiny body with white wings. SHIT. What was that?! There were very few words that were spoken, barely enough to make up one sentence. But it was enough to make Damon shiver in fear, and question if he heard it correctly. The voice, unlike this eerie, dark space, sounded full of life and energy. It sounded like, to Damon, a young girl¡¯s voice that was waiting in anticipation for something. Also, the excitement put into her voice matched perfectly with the words that were spoken aloud. ¡°I can¡¯t wait to see you soon, boy!¡± Chapter 11 - Dragons Cave When Damon exited out of the portal, he was drenched in sweat from the sudden encounter. He couldn¡¯t believe what had happened just now. That being had said a ominous phrase which could be interpreted in many ways. Before Damon could start attempting to decipher what the being had said, a loud voice could be heard. ¡°Move out of the way boy We got more students coming, so get out of the way unless you want someone crashing into you the moment they walk out of the portal¡± Damon apologized to Nick, and started walking towards where the majority of students were located. ¡°Damon, this place looks awesome! I can¡¯t wait to explore it!¡± Leon¡¯s voice could be heard as he ran up to him. He guided Damon towards the other kids, but Damon was lost in thought. Did he not notice that I took longer than usual to teleport? What the heck is going on here!? Does no one care? None of the students or teachers noticed anything unusual, it was as if time had been paused just for him inside the space during the teleportation. He couldn''t think any more on the topic though, because his eyes widened at the scene all around him. The beauty of the abandoned dragon¡¯s cave shocked Damon out of his gloomy mood. The roof was about 25m above ground, and it was curved in a dome like figure. There were many crystal stalactites hanging down giving off vibrant glows. These crystals looked like oversized gems that could be sold for a lot of money. Also, they were so big that 10 students could fit inside of it if it had an opening. The walls were smooth and glowed similarly to the stalactites. The ground was no exception, it was flat, with no rock intrusions or holes. Best of all, everything was shining with a purple hue, 10 times brighter than the colour of the portal. Damon scanned his eyes around as he walked closer towards the group of students. There were many doorways large enough that a dragon could pass through that led deeper into the cave. These passageways were not as bright as this center room, but still not completely dark either. The room Damon was standing in was about the size of the training hall that Damon had seen a few days ago. If one was standing in the center of this room, they could see everything that was visible due to there being no obstacles at all blocking their line of sight. Damon kept on walking in a slow pace with Leon in tow. What are those kids looking at? Is it something that interesting? This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. As Damon got closer, he started to gag from a horrible smell. It smelled like a toilet that had been used over 100 times, but not flushed once. Damon and Leon started coughing which was what all the other students of Class-S and Class-A were doing. Everyone stood in a circle around something, and as Damon moved closer, he could hear many whispers and cries of fear. There was a pool of a red substance that could be seen on the ground, and when it finally came in view, what everyone was looking at was¡. A dead body. The students were staring at it in awe, fascination, and disgust. Some of the girls even turned around and ran towards the teachers, telling them about the body. Damon examined the body, seemingly with a blank expression, but he was trying to mask the fear in his eyes.. What could¡¯ve happened? Could it be? Damon didn¡¯t care for the body, it was already dead, but he feared for his safety now. The teachers and announced that the cave was perfectly safe, but a dead body comes out of nowhere! The man lying on the ground had a hole where his heart should''ve been. It was a clean stab, granting instant death to the man. He was wearing a guard uniform, which probably meant that he was patrolling before he was killed. All the blood was dry, which meant that the killers were probably long gone, but Damon¡¯s heart couldn''t be put at ease. If those guys are the same guys---I will need to be very careful in this cave. I don¡¯t wanna end up like that poor guard over there. Leon reacted way more wildly than Damon. He clutched his stomach like he was about to throw up from the mere sight of the blood. He was definitely not looking like his cheerful self. Right before Leon was going to puke, Damon turned his head away with his hand plugging his nose, and spotted Dan and Nick running towards them with a few girls beside them. Dan and Nick finally arrived on the scene. They had worried looks on their faces as they fished their phones from their pockets. They called someone and motioned for the students to go back to the center of the room, away from the horrific corpse. Everyone listened and headed towards the middle of the room. Damon could hear two particular girls talking to his left. One was blonde and the other had purple hair. Damon¡¯s mood turned even worse when he started to make out what they were saying. ¡°Why is our trip time wasted on that old dude. He wasn¡¯t even anyone important, only a lowly commoner, so why is our time being wasted like this?¡± argued Rachel. ¡°I agree, our families didn¡¯t pay a huge sum of money so that we could stand around watching a dead commoner be dragged away.¡± replied Siena in a less angry tone than Rachel. Rachel looked around as if she making sure no one was watching. Before her eyes could land on Damon spying on their conversation, he turned around as if minding his own business. When he heard Siena and Rachel resuming their conversation, he went back to the same stance as before. Facing the girl¡¯s direction, but not looking directly at them. He could still hear fine with his ears though, and there were one or two students blocking Damon from their line of sight. Damon¡¯s ears perked up when he heard what Rachel had whispered carefully. Damon could barely hear her words, but he could get the gist of it. Siena had looked at Rachel with a smile on her face. She nodded her head as if agreeing to something and the two started to sneak away from the other classes towards a large doorway behind the teachers. Damon¡¯s guess was right on. He was astonished that they were brave enough to explore the cave on their own even though there was definite proof on the ground that it was dangerous. Damon made a split second decision before Siena and Rachel could disappear from his sight. He looked at Leon, but he was too busy kneeled over on the ground, puking his stomach out that Damon decided not to bring him along. I¡¯ll be fine by myself. If I run into trouble, I can just run away as fast as possible. Damon walked stealthily behind the girls without them or anyone else noticing. Just like that, the three students split off from their respective classes. Two trying to tour the magnificent dragon¡¯s cave, and one oblivious to the mess he was getting himself into. Chapter 12 - The Kidnapping ¡°What¡¯s with this cave? It¡¯s getting darker and darker,¡± complained Rachel, while walking deeper into the dragon¡¯s cave. ¡°It¡¯s probably going to get lighter soon,¡± replied Siena. The two girls were walking while trying to look for beautiful things worth taking a look at. Dragons are beings that loved treasure, so they thought there would be at least be something that had been worth ditching the group for. Damon was frowning in the back as he followed the pair while hiding in the shadows cast by the walls. He noticed that it was definitely getting darker, just like Rachel had said, but he had no idea why. It had only been 10 minutes since leaving the two classes, but it was already so dim that one could barely see a few meters ahead of you. He just didn¡¯t understand, the walls weren¡¯t noticeably darker, they were emitting the same amount of light as before. There must be a third party doing this. There is no other explanation. It was a very clear opportunity that enemies could exploit to get at Damon or whoever they were targeting. Some students mysteriously wandered away from the group and were never seen again would probably be put on the headlines of a newspaper to describe what had happened. After all, no one would have any evidence. This increased Damon¡¯s sense of urgency. They had to meet back up with the others or else something bad could happen without anyone noticing. That time came faster than Damon had expected though. *** ¡°All units ready?¡± spoke a man cloaked in black into a mysterious device. ¡°Unit 1 Ready¡± ¡°Unit 2 Ready¡± ¡°Unit 3 Ready¡± There were a total number of 3 units that were needed to carry out this mission, led by the man in black. They were situated in the shadows of a certain corridor located in the dragon¡¯s cave, everyone was wearing dark clothes to blend in with the surroundings and were waiting for a signal. Soon enough, 2 students appeared within their eyesight while chattering and complaining about something. One had blonde hair and another had purple hair. They wore an uniform that belonged to The Royal Academy, just like what the description of their target had described. This caused the units to ask their commander for the signal to attack. ¡°No, not yet. The descriptions don¡¯t match. Wait, because Unit 1 had confirmed 3 students walking this way. The target was definitely one of them, so be patient,¡± ordered the commander while looking behind the girls in search of somebody else.Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! Finally, a boy with silver hair arrived. He was attempting to hide in the shadows, but the man in black could clearly spot him. After all, he was an expert at trailing and becoming one with the shadows. The boy was looking around with a questioning expression. It seemed like he had noticed something wrong with his surroundings. ¡°Oh ho. He¡¯s pretty good at detecting magic,¡± said the man while his eyes glistened with a murderous light. ¡°All units, kidnap the boy in the back and bring him to me without letting the other two notice. Hurry up, because it seems like he has begun noticing the spell we cast on this area of the cave¡± The moment he said that, the other men hiding in the dark sprang out with an assortment of equipment in hand. Unit 1 had to stay on the lookout in case there were witnesses, Unit 2 was in charge of subduing the boy, and Unit 3 was in charge of tying him up and bringing him to their boss. The plan had finally commenced. *** Is this a magic spell? It sure seems like it because it¡¯s definitely not a natural occurrence that¡¯s causing this phenomenon. Damon was observing the people in front of him, but his attention was more focused on the darkness. The further he walked, the more he seemed to detect something in the air. It seemed that that was the cause of the cave fading into blackness. Damon¡¯s as so lost in thought that he lost sight of Rachel and Siena. This immediately caused Damon to freak out. A shiver went down his spine as he looked around as if trying to find something. Thank god, seems like Kelli was wro¡ª Out of nowhere, a gloved hand grabbed Damon¡¯s mouth quite forcibly. Damon reacted quickly and tried to elbow his abductor. Unfortunately for him, he felt two more pairs of hands knock out his knees from under him and plant a hard grip around his hands. BADUMP! Damon fell to the floor with a grunt. Although he was pushed down, he wasn¡¯t very injured, which caused him to get a vague idea of what the men were trying to accomplish. Are they trying to kidnap me instead of kill me? I swear Kalli said they were after my life! Damn it, I gotta escape first! He didn¡¯t even spare the time to reminisce over the warning Kallu had gave him. Damon struggled against the hands pushing him against the ground, but he couldn¡¯t even hinder them one bit. It seemed like another group of people had come, because a coil of rope was strapped around him, and a cloth was placed in his mouth. This completely immobilized him, he couldn¡¯t even move a muscle even if he wanted to. Damn it, is this how I die? I knew I shouldn¡¯t have followed those bitches!!! Fuck this!!! Damon started showing his bad side as he struggled against the kidnappers. His anger and distraction was boiling to new heights because of the hopelessness of the situation. More than 10 men against one teenage boy. What could he do? As realization dawned upon him, he finally stopped his struggle, realizing it was futile. He had no control over the situation anymore, but then he realized something. Wait, there¡¯s still those bitches! Even though it pains me, they¡¯re my only hope now! As if reading his mind, one of the men lifting Damon up from the ground spoke. ¡°Don¡¯t even think of asking for help. We made the necessary precautions to make sure no one would even be able to lift a finger.¡± At this statement, Damon¡¯s hopes plummeted down. He went limp in the men¡¯s arms and let himself be carried away, but his will had not been broke yet. I''ll just wait for the perfect chance to escape! The moment their attentions change targets, I¡¯ll sprint away as fast as possible! I¡¯m at least co fixent in my physical ability. Damon¡¯s will had been broken down, but not been destroyed completely. He believed that someone would save him, he HAD to. If he didn¡¯t, who knows what would happen to his mind. While this all happened, his surroundings were brightening up bit by bit. After a few minutes of being carried, he was finally dropped onto the ground in a dimly lit room. The room wasn¡¯t big, around the size of a medium sized bedroom. Damon was still tied up, so he couldn¡¯t move around to examine the room even if he wanted to. The only thing he saw was a man cloaked in black clothing sitting on a wooden chair in front of him. When Damon looked upon his face, his mind starting racing. He recognized his face, he had a vague memory of seeing it in a photo before. Damon only felt confusion, he didn¡¯t know why someone he somewhat knew would try to kill him. Damon could barely utter out a demand for an explanation before his words were cut off by the man¡¯s deep, baritone voice. ¡°Welcome back Damon, the last time I saw you was when you were a little baby. Time sure flies quickly, don¡¯t you think?¡± Chapter 13 - Omega System ¡°Do I know you?¡± asked Damon while struggling to break free from his bonds. ¡°It seems like you¡¯ve forgotten, it was a long time ago after all. I feel sorry for your parents that sadly died when you were little.¡± spoke the man in a gentle voice that didn¡¯t match his appearance. Damon¡¯s anger flared once again at what he thought was a mocking comment towards his parents. A man he barely knows suddenly kidnaps him and starts talking about his parents. One could not imagine how insulated Damon felt at that moment.. ¡°Don¡¯t you dare talk about my parents like that. I don¡¯t even know you so just let me go,¡± said Damon while trying to keep his composure. ¡°Oh, you may not know me, but I clearly remember you,¡± said the man with a creepy grin on his face. ¡°I don¡¯t care, just let me go. I swear I won¡¯t tell anyone about this encounter, so unbound me.¡± The man looked carefully at Damon before he flicked his finger. One of the men standing to the side walked up to him and landed a blow on his chest. This caused Damon to topple over onto his side and start wheezing in pain. ¡°I don¡¯t think you understand the situation Damon. We are in control right now, and you can¡¯t do a thing. We decide whether you live or die, so act nicely or else,¡± advised the man sitting on the chair. Damon had no choice to comply, so he sat still waiting for his abductor to talk. Contrary to his expectations, he didn¡¯t say anything else, but took action instead. He motioned once again for the men standing against the walls to start moving. Some people hauled Damon onto their backs, still tied up, and started moving once again. The walls were getting brighter and brighter the more steps they took. The passage started to widen out as well. Is this a second exit from the cave? This must be where they came in from. DAMN, how do I get out of this situation now, especially when there is no one nearby?! Damon was complaining over and over again in his head about the unlucky situation it was in. Worst case scenario, they would kill him, but that hadn¡¯t happened yet. This let Damon to believe that there was someone else that had ordered them to deliver Damon to the hirer. Suddenly, they arrived in a largely lit room, with a ceiling even higher up than the one Damon arrived in. There were no other exits that could be seen on the walls, the only way out was the passage they just came through. There were many murmurs of confusion before the leader spoke out. This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. ¡°We must have made a wrong turn, everybody move back! We don¡¯t have much time left, so make it outside to the trucks as quickly as you can!¡± ordered the man Damon had vaguely recognized. As everyone was moving backwards with Damon on their backs, a loud sound was made. THUD! A wall had appeared out of nowhere, blocking the group¡¯s movement through the tunnel. A ripple of panic went around through the men, because their only escape route had been blocked by a mysterious force. [If you want to live, drop the boy and leave. Otherwise, you will suffer a painful death.] Everyone heard the voice, but they didn¡¯t know what to do. The only one that even had an idea of what was happening was stunned, because he recognized the voice. It¡¯s the same voice from earlier! I don¡¯t know if I should be relieved or scared right now. Damon was feeling a mix of joy and fear at the same time. On one hand, the being from before seemed like it wanted to save Damon, but on the other hand, he was afraid of what would transpire after his kidnappers were scared away.. ¡°What should we do boss?¡± There were many voices that asked the same question, and finally, an answer was given. ¡°Drop the boy and get the hell out of here,¡± stammered the leader, while being the first one to run towards the exit. The wall from before had disappeared, and allowed passage through. The commander wasn¡¯t dumb, he knew when it was a smart choice and when it was just plain stupid. If someone who had the power to create walls, and amplify their voice at will was about to start a fight with him, he would gladly run away. He didn¡¯t have a death wish after all. Slowly, one by one, the men in black trickled away outside of the large area Damon found himself in. There was no one left inside of the room except for Damon, who was still bound. A large concentration of light appeared out of thin air in front of Damon. A small female-like figure could be spotted in the middle of the light, but there was one thing that didn¡¯t fit with regular humans. A large pair of feathery wings, resembling that of an angel¡¯s, was attached to the being¡¯s back. It really is the person from before isn¡¯t it. Damon couldn¡¯t even be anxious about the coming events, because he was in awe at the beauty of the being. ¡°It¡± had a tiny body, like that of a young girl¡¯s, that at one glance could be labeled as underdeveloped. There was short, golden hair on her head, and she also had pale, smooth arms and legs. The reason he was in awe was not because of her looks though, it was the majestic pair of white, feathery wings. He admired them for a few seconds before he realized something about the girl. She was about the size of Damon¡¯s head. Why is she so tiny? Also, how could that little body perform those incredible feats from before? It just doesn''t make sense! Damon didn¡¯t care about that though. The most important thing was that he was saved from his impending doom! He was still alive, and his body was functioning properly! He moved his arms and legs the moment the ropes were removed by the girl. [Hey, don¡¯t focus on your body condition right now, I got stuff to talk to you about!] The miniature sized girl puffed out her cheeks in a cute manner as she moved even closer to Damon¡¯s face. [I am a fairy, and I have come to bless you with a wonderful gift!] Damon understood more about the size of the girl, as she got straight to the point of their encounter. He listened carefully to the words of his saviour. [I hate all the formalities and stuff, so like, here¡¯s your gift, blah blah blah. Figure it out yourself. I got a party I got to get to, see ya! ] The fairy waved her hands, and light surrounded Damon¡¯s body. His body was undergoing a fundamental change, and at the same time, the fairy was slowly starting to fade away. With a POOF, the fairy was gone and the room was empty once again. That was quick, I should meet back up with my class as soon as possible. Before that though¡ Damon was looking at the words that had appeared in front of him the moment the feeling of his body changing had left. It seemed like he had successfully received the gift he had been granted by the mysterious being known as a fairy. Damon started smiling as he started listening to the words being played directly into his brain. {Welcome to Omega System.} Options: -Select NEXT to proceed Chapter 14 - First Monster Kill Damon was reading the words shown to him, with awe strewn across his face. He had just received a gift from the fairy and it seemed like some sort of system. Omega System hm? I wonder what it does. Damon selected next and a brand new screen popped up. [Name] Damon Zellar [Class] None Level: 1 Strength: 5 Defense: 4 Agility: 5 Magic: 0 [Special Stats] Luck: 5 Intelligence: 4 *** Has not been unlocked yet [Skills] None Wow, this is just like a game! It even shows my stats, which I¡¯m guessing is my capabilities. Damon was surprised at the numbers shown. The stats for a grown man was 3, but his strength, defense, and agility were all one or two points above that! That proved that his training of his body had been worth it. My magic is 0 though¡ maybe that¡¯s related to the skills everyone is talking about? I heard they use magic to carry them out. Then, the screen known as Omega System started using arrows and text boxes to give a brief tutorial of what everything did. Ah, so they¡¯re just like any other game stat wise. The stats do exactly what you think they do. Strength gives you more power, defense increases the condition of your body to make it easier to block attacks, agility makes your movements quicker, and magic is the element you have available to use on skills. Damon finally understood those things, but there were still the special stats that he didn¡¯t know how they worked. This was because of the title of [Special Stats]. Intelligence and luck could be easily interpreted, but there was a hidden stat that hadn¡¯t been unlocked yet. I¡¯m sure that I¡¯ll find out later. Let¡¯s not stress over that right now. Also, he had a few questions about his levels, but Damon had a vague idea about it. He had read many light novels before with game elements, and you usually leveled up from killing monsters. Since monsters were present on Earth, he just had to find one and he¡¯d level up eventually. The why he left it it in the back of his mind, and he¡¯d come back to it later. Damon looked over his system once again, and then started walking back towards the portal he entered from. The kidnapping experience didn¡¯t leave that big of a trauma on him, because he had suffered similarity in the past. Therefore, Damon treated it like any other event, on any other day. The only thing is that man I talked to. I¡¯ll remember him, and one day, I¡¯ll ask him some questions about how he came in possession of the info about my parents. The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. Damon continued on his trek back towards his class with determination showing on his face. It was only a few minutes though before he encountered his first obstacle. ¡°Guess it¡¯s time to see how this system works,¡± said Damon out loud instead of thinking it inside his head. A weird looking creature was standing in front of Damon. It looked like a mutated dog, it¡¯s teeth were way longer and sharper than usual. Also, it¡¯s fur was ash black, and it¡¯s eyes were a dark red colour. It was also bigger than a normal dog by a lot. [Lowest Rank monster detected] It was the first time Damon had met a monster, but he wasn¡¯t particularly worried. It didn¡¯t look too menacing, and even if it did attack, he was ready and on guard. So there¡¯s a ranking system for monsters too? I wonder how powerful a higher ranked monster would be? Damon measured up to the monster in front of him. The dog like monster was looking behind it, so it hadn''t noticed Damon yet. He thought he had enough strength to defeat it, especially because it was smaller than him. Since I can¡¯t use magic, I guess my only option is a one on one fight. Suddenly, the monster turned around and looked right at him. It didn¡¯t attack though, it started to trot closer to Damon. It wasn¡¯t readying an attack, it even had a somewhat happy expression on its face. What? It¡¯s not attacking? The monster didn¡¯t harm Damon, it went on it¡¯s back as if asking for a belly rub like a regular dog. Something weird was going on that Damon didn¡¯t know about. He didn¡¯t know what though, so he decided to just do what he was aiming for from the start, regardless of the monster¡¯s unusual actions. Damon moved closer to the dog like monster, but it still didn¡¯t show any signs of attacking. One could even hear a small panting sound coming out of its mouth. So weird¡ Damon was finally within touching distance. He got his hands ready and started attacking in the only way he could. He started beating the monster mercilessly. HUROWW!! The monster even whimpered like a dog, and finally, after being attacked it finally started to retaliate. Or at least it tried to. By the time it tried, Damon had already sent several punches into the same area, it¡¯s head. There was blood leaking out of several places, and Damon was still punching. Eventually, the whimpering stopped, and the monster lay still in the ground. That was way easier then it should¡¯ve been. Why didn¡¯t it attack at all? Damon had no idea of what had just transpired, but he was sure of one thing. He had received a notification from his system! [Stealth(F) has been learned!] A notification had shown up in front of Damon in a game like manner. He examined the skill he had learned first. Stealth hm? I¡¯m pretty sure that¡¯s a skill that can hide you from other people? He opened the description of the skill and took a look at it. [Stealth(F) Hide your presence from others. At this rank, you can only hide your presence from people weaker than you. 1/3 Skills that do not require ¡®Magic¡¯] ¡°Cool! I can stay hidden if I want to now! It¡¯s similar to invisibility, but it¡¯s not a bad skill,¡± said Damon excitedly. ¡°Also, I don¡¯t need magic to use it but sadly, it has a limit..¡± This was his first skill he had ever learned, and from his first monster kill nevertheless. The other notification was important to Damon as well. He was baffled by what this system could accomplish. It was basically the saying that he could improve himself without him having to do the work himself! He could even go beyond the limits of a human because it seemed like the system had no limit to the amount you could increase your stats. Amazing, just amazing. Damon imagined one day where he was the strongest person in the whole world, and he had no equal. He could also punish everyone who had treated him badly, and he¡¯d have the power to find out more about his parents. I¡¯d finally be able to take action against those nobles that heck treated me horribly. I¡¯ll make sure you don¡¯t act the same once I¡¯m done with you! Damon opened his system after thinking about the future to test out his new skill. To activate a skill, one had to say the name of it in their head, and it would automatically activate. Activate Stealth! [Stealth activated] If someone was looking at Damon at this moment, they would have been rubbing their eyes, thinking they were seeing things. He completely disappeared from view, but he didn¡¯t know that. There was no one around to test it on, so he didn¡¯t have a clue if his skill was working or not. Is it working? It should be, because there was even an announcement saying it was activated. Damon walked through the cave, back towards that bright room he came in. He decided that he would join up with his school again, making sure that no one was busy worrying about where he was. At the same time, he could test out [Stealth] with his classmates. He didn¡¯t care for Rachel and Siena who were answering around the cave, they would come back eventually. Let¡¯s hope my classmates are weaker than me, otherwise, the skill won¡¯t work. Damon walked back the way he came from, blending in with the surroundings with his presence being hidden. Even if a normal person walked in this exact same passage, they wouldn¡¯t notice a thing. g. Chapter 15 - First Quest Loud talking could be heard from a few meters in front of Damon by the time he was within hearing distance. Damon who was still hidden, walked into the room without a sound. Nothing noticeably happened, no one noticed the blood splattered Damon walking into the room. This was only until the teachers spotted him. They were obviously of a higher power level then the student named Damon, so they could detect his presence. Hm, so I guess I am stronger than the students here? I don¡¯t see those two girls around though¡ how long are they going to wander this cave?! The teachers turned their heads from their conversations and stared at Damon. ¡°Was that a skill Damon? Why did you activate it now when we¡¯re not in any danger?¡± asked Dan. ¡°Um¡ it was... by accident!¡± he replied as he deactivated [Stealth]. ¡°Ok, I know you were scared of the body, but control your magic ok?¡± advised Nick. ¡°Wait, Damon activated a skill?¡± ¡°I didn¡¯t know he had any!¡± ¡°Yeah! He didn¡¯t use any at the class placement exams!¡± ¡°Now that you bring that up, that is weird, right?¡± The students of both classes has picked up on the teachers¡¯ words, and were curious about Damon and his skill. Unfortunately for Damon, he couldn¡¯t provide an explanation, he wanted to hide the fact that he had received a special gift enabling him to obtain [Stealth]. Leon and Kalli walked up to him, seemingly having been talking about something before. A pat was placed on Damon¡¯s back for no reason. A weird smile could be seen on their faces, a look kind of like jealousy. ¡°I didn¡¯t know you had a skil like that Damon¡ congratulations!¡± said the pair while showering him with praise. ¡°Uh, thanks?¡± replied Damon, confused. Having a skill was common, but having a useful one wasn¡¯t. Imagine being able to cook food, or being able to turn invisible. Which one would you choose? Well, that was the same for skills as well. A skill that could hide your presence was uncommon compared to a skill that made you levitate a few centimetres off of the ground. Only about 1 out of 100 people possessed this skill, so Damon was likely the only one that had it out if he two classes. ¡°The teachers decided that we should head back to the school cause they said it wasn¡¯t safe,¡± informed Leon. ¡°It was a wise decision,¡± declared Kalli. ¡°We should be thankful instead.¡± ¡°Yes, we should be very thankful indeed,¡± said Damon, causing Kalli to look at him out of curiosity. But then she turned away once Damon started staring back at her. This book''s true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience. Is she scared of me or something? Why is she acting differently around me now? Damon, unable to see Kali¡¯s face, couldn¡¯t see that it was on the verge of turning red. She was surprised at the sudden direct eye contact with him, so she looked away. With all that aside, it was time to go head back to The Royal Academy. The students lined up and went back through the portal. Damon remembered about the face he saw, but he wasn¡¯t worried anymore. He had a received a gift from that fairy after all! Sure enough, he passed through swiftly and safely, and ended up hack where he came from. It was now the evening. It seemed a lot of time had passed since the start of the trip, and the day was already over. Lots of rustling sounds could be heard when Class-A and Class-S field out of the purple portal. ¡°Ahhhh that was a long day,¡± said Kalli, while stretching her arms. ¡°Yep, I need to go now ok? See you guys tomorrow!¡± Damon was planning on finding out more about his leveling system by himself. He decided to hide this fact from others, even his friends, because he didn¡¯t want the extra trouble of explaining things. After waving goodbye to his friends and informing his teachers that he was leaving, he headed back home. When he arrived, he immediately took off his school uniform and changed into casual clothes. A mix of some type of t-shirt and a sweater with a pair of jeans. Curiosity was blooming in his head, Damon was dying to know more about his system, especially when it concerned him getting stronger. He opened his system and started looking around until he found a tan common in RPG games. [Quests] Wow, I wasn¡¯t expecting it, but I guess this really is like a RPG game! [Quest - 1/day] -Do 100 pushups -Do 100 sit-ups -Run 10 km [Reward] -Strength +2 It seemed like he could gain 2 strength from completing the quest. Also, he could complete it once everyday, and the reward was two times as much as a level up. So quests reward more then? Quests granted more rewards then a level up, but Damon didn¡¯t know why, he didn¡¯t care either. I guess I¡¯ll do today¡¯s quest then. I wonder what an extra 2 points of strength feels like? He started doing the 100 push ups and sit ups. Sweat was running down his body by the une he was done. He grabbed a quick snack and then headed outside for his 10km run. With his coat on, he went out into the cool evening and felt a slight breeze blowing on the back of his neck. It was a nice feeling, and it relaxed Damon, relieving a bit of the stress he had conceived throughout the day. He ran for the 10km, and ended up back inside his small apartment. A message had popped up, leaving Damon with anticipation for what was about to come next. [Quest Completed!] [Strength +2] The moment that message showed up, Damon could feel a change happening in his body. Unexpectedly, it wasn¡¯t painful, it was a pleasurable feeling that one would indulge in if given the chance. There was no outer change, but he could feel his insides changing, ever so slightly. Then, the addition to his stats finally ended. Wow, I do feel a bit stronger, even if it¡¯s a little. [Name] Damon Zellar [Class] None Level: 1 (1/10) Strength: 7 Defense: 4 Agility: 5 Magic: 0 [Special Stats] Luck: 5 Intelligence: 4 *** Has not been unlocked yet [Skills] Stealth(F) He checked his menu to confirm that he had received his reward, and there it was. Stealth could also be seen towards the bottom, indicating that he actually had a skill now, unlike before. To test out his newfound strength, he tried picking up his bed. Before, he could barely hold it up, only accomplishing it by using his whole body strength, but now, he could easily pick it up with both his hands. I wonder what the other stats would do, would I grow huge muscles and get rock-hard abs? Damon¡¯s thoughts were in a dream-like state, thinking about what his future looked like if he continued to increase his stats. His level had not increased yet, but when he asked Omega System about it, they responded saying that he had to kill monsters in order to increase his level. He had killed that 1, the dog-like one, so now there was a 1/10 showing up beside his level. He was guessing that he needed 9 more kills in order to level up to level 2, but where was he going to find monsters to kill? Damon didn¡¯t want to think about it today, he¡¯d leave it for tomorrow. With one movement, he grabbed the covers and pulled them over himself as he started to fall asleep. Chapter 16 - Level Up! When Damon arrived at school, there was Leon once again to greet him. This time though, Kalli was with him. With a wave, Damon ran over and they started talking while walking towards room 107. Currently seated in the class, Damon was listening to Dan giving a lecture about monsters and how to kill them. The part he most wanted to hear was finally explained by Dan. ¡°To find monsters, one would have to go to a hunting ground. There are a few nearby that are managed by the government, but you¡¯ll have to get permission to enter,¡± explained Dan. Damon had finally heard the info he had been waiting for. When the day ended, he left for home without notice, leaving Leon and Kalli wondering about what had happened. His destination was indeed one of the hunting grounds nearby. It was a park, a large wildlife park that was infested with creatures not known to this world. It was a Level 1 hunting ground, meaning even the least powerful humans could hunt there. You only needed verification granted from the government confirming that you had at least one skill to be able to participate. The security around was lax though, after all, it was only a Level 1 hunting ground that no one paid attention to. I should be able to sneak in with Stealth right? Damon¡¯s plan was to sneak into this area secretly, because he didn¡¯t have a verification. He could obtain one, but then he would expose his skill and potentially his system. That wasn¡¯t a risk worth taking, so this was his only option. I need to level up as quickly as possible, so I can increase my stats. Damon was almost obsessed with his stats. Just the thought of wiping the smug looks off of the noble¡¯s faces pleased him to no end. That¡¯s why he was focused on leveling up today. He had already completed his daily quest and this time, he but it into defense. Having balance stats was important, being all strength or any other stat would just be stupid and would lead to one¡¯s downfall. Name] Damon Zellar [Class] None Level: 1 (1/10) Strength: 7 Defense: 6 Agility: 5 Magic: 0 [Special Stats] Luck: 5 Intelligence: 4 *** Has not been unlocked yet [Skills] Stealth(F) Now that it was night time, Damon finally moved out with his stealth skill activated, and headed towards the park. It wasn¡¯t far away, it was within walking distance of his house. The entry level posted by the government, and the close proximity to his house were perfect circumstances that he didn¡¯t want to let slip by. There was no reason for him not to go, he was confident in his physical abilities after all. The streets were quiet at this time of night, there were almost no cars or people that could be seen. The only things present were the street lights illuminating the dark roads. Without making any sounds, Damon sprinted to the wildlife park even though his stealth was activated. He wanted to stay cautious in case some high ranked officers were around. In England, the police force didn¡¯t contain regular citizens, it contained high ranked skill users. Ever since Omega, the appearance of humans with skills caused concern for the people without skills for their safety. That¡¯s why the government decided to hire the people with powers to protect its citizens. These kinds of people had excellent benefits and were often treated with the utmost respect. It was a wonderful job that everyone worked towards, but few actually made it.If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement. Damon was on the lookout for these people until he finally arrived at the hunting ground. A black gate could be seen in front of him that was being managed by some lazy guards, but he wasn¡¯t going to enter from there. After some inspection, he found a small hole just big enough for him to fit through. He pushed himself through, barely able to fit. Some of his clothes got stuck, but he managed to pull it off, leaving a tiny bit of cloth stuck behind. Finally pulling himself through, he could spot several signs indicating danger, and signs saying beware of monsters. He didn¡¯t even glance at them and chose to walk into the woods. One didn¡¯t notice it until they got close, but the woods were riddled with noises. Screams, screeching, all kinds of sounds you wouldn¡¯t think were possible could be heard. So that¡¯s where the monsters are. Damon headed towards the direction of the sounds and came to a clearing filled with monsters. They were short, green and very ugly. The classic goblins from fantasy stories were right in front of him! With a fearless step, he showed himself to the monsters, but they only turned their heads. [Lowest Rank monster detected] Goblins were the lowest ranked, comparable to that dog-like monster from the dragon¡¯s cave. They could only be found in the lower leveled hunting grounds, and rarely in the higher leveled ones. Normal people could probably kill them if equipped with a simple knife or sharp utensil. That¡¯s how weak they were. When the goblins spotted Damon, they took a quick look at him and did something that confused Damon once more. They got on their knees and kneeled! Not even humans, monsters! Goblins were kneeling to a human being! A never before seen event was unfolding, but no one was around to witness it. So these goblins acted the same as that dog¡ I still don¡¯t understand why though. They¡¯re monsters-right? Even though they were showing obedience, Damon still needed to level up, so he brought out the knife he had brought from his kitchen and creeped closer. The only skill Damon possessed was stealth, so he couldn¡¯t resort to any special attack magics to kill the goblins. He had to do it by hand. It may be messy, but Damon¡¯s determined face showed otherwise. The goblin¡¯s heads were pointed downwards, so they were very vulnerable. Around 10 goblins were kneeling, they traveled in groups and were rarely alone by themselves. That¡¯s perfect, I can level up just from this hunt! Damon was delighted at the situation, what would he get from a level up? These types of thoughts were spinning inside his head as he slit the throats of the goblins, one by one. Finally, after 10 strikes, there were 10 corpses lying on the ground. [Level Up!] Corpses of monsters were sometimes worth money. Occasionally, they dropped gold coins which could be traded for cash, and that¡¯s what Damon found. One gold pieces was worth about $50 USD, so you could potentially make a living out of hunting monsters. Damon had found two and that brought his mood even higher. Something weird also came out though, a golden piece of paper came out of the 10th golbin. [Upgrade Pass(F) Found] Damon read the description window and was elated by what the upgrade pass was capable of. There was a near impossible chance to get an upgrade pass from a monster, but he got one! It could upgrade a skill of your choice by one level depending on the level of the pass. An upgrade pass like the one he had just found could only upgrade F ranked skills. Perfect! I can use this on stealth and upgrade it to E rank! Damon pocketed the two gold coins, and opened his system. His level had increased just like he thought, and there was a notification on the level up reward, but he wanted to save that for later. Increasing the rank of his skill came first! To activate the item, he just had to rip it in half and say the name of the skill he wanted to upgrade.. ¡°Stealth,¡± announced Damon, while ripping the upgrade pass in half. Almost instantly, a message popped up [Stealth Upgraded to Rank (E)] [You are now able to maintain the skill for 5 minutes instead of 3.] Awesome! Now let''s get onto the rewards for the level up! [Level Up Reward Options] -Strength +1 -Defense +1 -Agility +1 -Magic +1 Damon decided to put the 1 point into agility, because his strength and defense were already upgraded, and he didn¡¯t need magic yet. His new system page looked a bit nicer than before. Name] Damon Zellar [Class] None Level: 2 (1/10) Strength: 7 Defense: 6 Agility: 6 Magic: 0 [Special Stats] Luck: 5 Intelligence: 4 *** Has not been unlocked yet [Skills] Stealth(E) I accomplished a lot today haven¡¯t I. I earned some money, and I even increased my stats, skill, and level! As Damon walked out of the park and headed back home, he activated Stealth just in case. Little did he know, that was the best choice he could¡¯ve made. A familiar group of teenage boys were waiting outside of the park, having been tracking Damon ever since he left his apartment. ¡°Where is he! I swear I saw him enter, but he still hasn¡¯t come out yet!¡± complained a member of the group. ¡°You think he died from the monsters or something?¡± asked another. ¡°Shush you morons,¡± yelled the leader. ¡°Just wait, we¡¯ll jump him the moment he comes out, and question that commoner until he begs for mercy.¡± They waited and waited, but nothing happened for the rest of the night. Damon on the other hand, received a peculiar notification. [Special Stat *** (1/5) unlocked. 4 more narrow escapes from death needed to unlock the Special Stat ***] Chapter 17 - Battle Between Classmates What was that? A narrow escape from death? A narrow escape from death? Damon didn¡¯t know what that was all about, but he had just received a clue on how to unlock the special stat. 4 more narrow escapes from death until he unlocked it. Since that wasn¡¯t going to be happening anytime soon, he didn¡¯t linger on that thought. The next day, Leon commented on Damon¡¯s appearance. ¡°Is it just me or did you get some muscles?¡± ¡°Did I? Even if I did, I didn¡¯t notice,¡± replied Damon, clearly knowing about it. So the stat increase did do something. Will my appearance change entirely if I upgrade my stats a bit more? They headed towards their class in a hurry, not wanting to be late. After school ended, Leon invited Damon over to his dorm room, but Damon declined. ¡°Why not? Kalli is there too so why not come as well?¡± whined Leon. ¡°I got things to do,¡± replied Damon. He wanted to hang out with his friends, but he had more important things to do. It wasn¡¯t like this was the last time he would see them right? He and Kalli had been hanging out for years, and Leon wasn¡¯t lonely anyways. That allowed Damon to not feel guilty about his choice. ¡°I¡¯ll see you tomorrow, I¡¯ll come over on another day,¡± said Damon as he turned his back and waved goodbye. ¡°Ok,¡± muttered Leon with a dejected face. Damon wasn¡¯t heading home, but actually towards the Level 1 hunting ground from before. He wanted to increase his stats as soon as possible, so he could challenge the other hunting grounds that were higher leveled. A few strides later, he was in the park, having crawled through the hole from last night. This time though, he headed in another direction, an area that was isolated and couldn¡¯t be seen by the guards. A group of monkeys with black fur were jumping around through the trees, but when Damon arrived, the phenomenon happened again. He didn¡¯t let it go to waste, and just killed them. Another 8 monsters killed, leaving him with one more needed to level up. Suddenly, while Damon was wiping the blood off the knife with a leaf, a girl appeared out of nowhere. She had purple hair, and was wearing the same uniform as Damon. ¡°Why the hell are you here?¡± demanded Damon towards Rachel. ¡°Ew, can¡¯t believe I found a commoner in these parts,¡± said Rachel, clearly intending to insult Damon. She had immediately recognized Damon, his silver hair was one of a kind after all. ¡°What are you doing here?¡± Rachel directed the question right back at Damon. ¡°I¡¯m hunting monsters! So get the fuck away from me before I mess up your nose.¡± Damon was not trying to hide his hostility towards the noble girl, he didn¡¯t need to. Rachel knew he hated her after all. This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. ¡°Do you even have the entry pass? I thought I saw you crawl-¡° ¡°Shut up!¡± yelled Damon in anger. ¡°Or what? You¡¯ll kill me?¡± mocked Rachel. ¡°I bet you don¡¯t even have the power to do so, idiot. How did you make it into Class-S anyways?¡± ¡°Want to see me try, asshole?¡± retorted Damon. Just like that, the two began a fight with their pride on the line. Damon didn¡¯t know why Rachel was here, but all he did know was that he wanted her gone as soon as possible. That¡¯s why he started this fight, if he showed his dominance, maybe she would stop ridiculing him all the time and start treating him like a real human. Damon activated stealth, while Rachel started chanting a spell. He disappeared from Rachel¡¯s view, but the skill she used allowed her to increase her perception, therefore enabling his skill useless. The moment Rachel spotted Damon, who was flying towards her with knife in hand, she dodged while preparing another skill. She couldn¡¯t win in close combat, she wasn¡¯t oblivious that she would lose physical ability wise against the boy. Thad why she chose to fight with long range combat, throwing offensive spells at him until he lost. Damon¡¯s only skill was stealth, so if that failed, he wouldn¡¯t be able to get close and land some hits. An unfavourable situation, that¡¯s exactly what it was like. With accuracy and speed, Rachel hopped from one place to another, keeping distance from Damon. She used many skills like fireball repeatedly, and finally, her magic supply was beginning to run out. One could say the same for Damon though. He was getting tired from the repeated chasing and dodging. He wouldn¡¯t be able to last another few minutes before he got hit by one of Rachel¡¯s attacks. His went on for another few minutes before Damon finally let his guard down, and got it by a fireball. Both of them were panting, sweat dripping down from their faces. There was a burn etched onto Damon¡¯s right arm, causing severe pain to him. The pain was unimaginable for him, he even wanted to cry out, but he couldn¡¯t show weaknesses in front on that noble brat. That¡¯s why he stayed silent, trying to tend to the burn. ¡°You said you wanted to kill me right?¡± said Rachel while panting. ¡°Well, guess I¡¯ll be the one to kill you instead.¡± The nobles in England weren¡¯t particularly fond of violence. Unless they were acting against commoners or someone who insulted them. Damon fit into both of here categories, which gave Rachel enough reason to want to kill him. Rachel walked closer and closer. Time seemed to stop for Damon as he watched a massive fireball around the size of a car form in her hands. Am I really going to die here? Damon could only watch in horror as he waited for his impending doom. Fuck, I¡¯m not going to lose do this damn girl. The thought of losing to the person in front of him once again sparked his desire to win. With all his strength, he tried to get up, but the burn was causing him to fail. Dammit. He didn¡¯t expect he would end up dying today, he didn¡¯t want to. With difficulty, he pushed his pride away and yelled for help. ¡°Someone, HELP ME. I AM GETTING KILLED BY A CRAZY GIRL!¡± Nothing happened, Rachel gave him a smirk containing pity. ¡°No one is going to help you commoner. You may as well just give up and accept your fate.¡± Suddenly, something burst out in front of Damon. It consumed the massive fireball that Rachel had aimed at Damon like it was nothing. It even sat down with a loud burp. What?! Why did a panda just save me? ¡°What the hell was that,¡± said Rachel with surprise. ¡°A panda? Why is something like that here? And trying to save you nonetheless?¡± Damon was speechless at the sight in front of him. A panda, a darn panda had saved him. It wasn¡¯t even a human being. What is it then? A normal panda couldn¡¯t have survived that attack? Is it a monster that looks like a panda then? ¡°I don¡¯t care, but I¡¯ll kill you too, damn panda,¡± shouted Rachel ruthlessly. She started preparing another attack with the magic power she had left, but the monster panda made a move. It ate Rachel whole, blood splattered everywhere and Rachel¡¯s remains were now in the creatures stomach. Damon didn¡¯t even know what to think anymore. He did want Rachel dead, but a panda doing the killing? Also, why did a monster like that respond to his call anyways? Was it similar to what happened with the monster he had met so far? Now that Rachel was dead, he would have to deal with many questions from the authorities, and her family. All cause of a damn panda. Ughhh, someone just died and I don¡¯t care. I guess my ruthless side has come out again. His alter ego has made an appearance once again, this time, with more seriousness. With care, the panda moved closer to Damon¡¯s and sat down. Anyone would think it was cute if they hadn¡¯t experienced what it had just done. What do I do with this guy now? It¡¯s not like I can take it home just because it seems friendly. It¡¯s a monster for god sake! After contemplating what to do, Damon decided to just leave it here and head home by himself. ¡°Thanks monster panda,¡± said Damon. The words sounded weird coming out of his mouth. ¡°I¡¯ll come back some other time,¡± Before Damon could leave, a notification popped up. [Level Up!] Wait, what? Why did I level up!? Chapter 18 - Modified Hide and Seek [Level Up Rewards] -Strength +1 -Defense +1 -Agility +1 -Magic +1 Damon pushed the level up message to the side and focused on his stat page. Name] Damon Zellar [Class] None Level: 3(0/10) Strength: 7 Defense: 6 Agility: 6 Magic: 0 [Special Stats] Luck: 5 Intelligence: 4 *** Has not been unlocked yet (1/5) [Skills] Stealth(E) What the! How did I level up? The only thing that died after the monkeys was¡ Damon came to a suspicious realization as he looked at the panda monster. It looked back as if trying to tell him something. It even pointed one of its paws at its mouth. That damn smart panda. Why did the kill it got from Rachel show up on my stat page? Damon plugged his nose from the blood smell as he tried to turn his head back towards the panda monster. Nothing could be found though, the panda was long gone, not even footprints could be seen. It was as if it had disappeared into thin air. Where did it go? It¡¯s gone already! He had some guesses, but he couldn¡¯t confirm them if the monster wasn¡¯t here. With a sigh, Damon left the park, distressed with the events that had unfolded today. There would be questions about Rachel, and Damon hoped that no one would be able to track it back to him. He activated stealth once again and left for home. *** ¡°Why is Rachel not back yet? I swear I heard a fight going around in there,¡± asked a member of Rachel¡¯s lackeys. ¡°Should we go in and find her?¡± ¡°We could, but what if that low ranker saw us?¡± ¡°I don¡¯t think he¡¯s smart enough to comedy the dots between us and Rachel.¡± Love this story? Find the genuine version on the author''s preferred platform and support their work! ¡°No, you¡¯re the ones that dumb!¡± ¡°SILENCE!¡± shouted the leader with gold chains and tattoos on his body. ¡°I¡¯ll go in and find Rachel, you guys stay on guard, and if you spot Damon, send someone to get me. The leader walked into the park by himself, not caring about the dangers it posed. Something even more threatening than monsters had went inside, and if that person got angry, the leader of the gang would suffer an even worse fate than if monsters attacked him. *** The next day, there was a big commotion at The Royal Academy. Supposedly, Rachel from Class-S had entered a hunting ground, but never came out. Her parents had even made some time to come to the school to demand answers from the headmaster. Urgently, the school made an announcement that whoever gave information about the incident would receive a suitable reward from Rachel¡¯s family. No one went up though, but that was until one of Rachel¡¯s lackey groups, as people liked to call them, provided some info. The only clue they got was a piece of the academy''s uniform found ripped to shreds at a Level 1 hunting ground nearby, but that didn¡¯t give them any leads. Damon knew the truth, but he was currently relaxed in a game of hide and seek and couldn¡¯t be bothered to tell anyone. After all, he¡¯d be punished if anyone ever found out he was involved. The game of hide and seek Damon was playing was part of his class training program. It wasn¡¯t an ordinary game of hide and seek. You were allowed to use your skills to hide or seek for other students, and that changed the game a lot. Within a minute, the game could be ended if one had the matching skill to seek.. The same could be said for if you had the perfect hiding skill, such as stealth. Then, the game could continue for as long as one wanted. ¡°I¡¯ve never seen you use skills before. How did you get into Class-S anyways?¡± asked Damon. ¡°I¡¯ll show you soon in this game of hide and seek,¡± said Leon. The rules were a time limit of 30 mins, you were allowed to use skills of your choice to hide or seek, but no permanent injuries were allowed. Temporary ones such as a flash of light to blind the seeker was an example of an acceptable attack. A fireball aimed towards another student though, was harshly forbidden. Then, the game started. The seeker was this blue haired boy in his class. He seemed to be timid, and not that menacing unlike the others in the class. While everyone else was riled up over the disappearance of Rachel, he wasn¡¯t all that bothered about it and just stayed quiet. He did the same when Damon had first entered the class, so he held the blue haired boy in a good light. I think his name was Dean Pratt. I heard he was from a wealthy family. Dean was the son of a family that owned a well known company in England. His family taught him the things necessary to get into The Royal Academy with the wealth they possessed. Along with money, they also had good connections, allowing Dean to successfully make it into the school. Currently, this blue haired boy had his eyes covered by his hands while counting down. In thick green bushes, Damon and Leon were watching Dean countdown close by. They were a few meters away, but they were trying the trick of hiding in plain sight. Just in case, Damon planned on using stealth, but he had no clue about Leon. No knowledge of his skills came to his mind, so he just decided to wait and see if he used anything special. ¡°Ready?¡± whispered Leon. ¡°I¡¯ll show you my awesome skill I¡¯ve been perfecting!¡± The moment Dean opened his eyes, Leon said something, and Damon also thought something. Stealth activate! ¡°Invisibility!¡± [Stealth Activated] Damon¡¯s presence instantly disappeared, but when he went to look at Leon who said something about invisibility, he wasn¡¯t there. With caution, Damon extended his hand out, and he felt Leon¡¯s shoulder. ¡°Don¡¯t worry, I¡¯m right here,¡± whispered Leon even more softly than before. Dean was pretty close to them now. ¡°I¡¯m invisible!¡± ¡°Wow, cool. Now be quiet.¡± Silence descended on the two as Dean walked closer and closer. The suspense was making Damon sweat with anticipation, he didn¡¯t want to be found because he was aiming for the win! The one that could last the longest received a reward, but no one knew what kind of reward it was. It could be money, fame, or even a rare skill scroll. Omega brought about many changes, and skill scrolls was one of them. They may seem old fashioned because they were written on paper, but no one could change that. As time passed, skilled users killed more and more monsters, eventually discovering the skill scrolls. One could learn a random skill from one of these scrolls, the rarity depended on your luck. You could pull from a common all the way to a legendary, but that obviously was close to impossible to get. If Damon won, he could get a new skill, and just that thought urged him to win this modified version of hide and seek. Sweat rolled down his cheek as he and the invisible Leon hid in the bushes. Light footsteps got nearer, and Dean stopped right in front of their hiding place.. Please don¡¯t look in here. Please! ZIPPP! Out of nowhere, Damon heard a zip sound. Why the hell is he unzipping his pants! SPLASH! SPLASH! Damon could spot a yellow liquid splashing on the bush right next to him. The disgust was clear on his face, and he was sure the same could be said for Leon if he wasn¡¯t invisible. After Dean was done doing his business, he walked away while having thought no one was around to witness that. We didn¡¯t get caught, but I don''t even know if that close call was a positive or negative anymore. With a sigh, Damon waited the whole game out with Leon in that stinking bush. Chapter 19 - Skill Reward Dean found everyone except for Damon and Leon at he end of the match. Sadly, Leon mistook the game as over and ran out into the open screaming that he won. The seeker immediately headed towards the noise and found Leon, meaning Damon had won instead! Once Dan officially announced that the game of hide and seek was over, he called Damon over to receive the prize. His classmates poked at him with envy, finally forgetting about the incident on the first day of class. Without angry stares anymore, it finally seemed peaceful in classroom 127 for once. It calmed his heart for a bit, but it started speeding up the moment he saw the words written on the skill scroll. A legendary skill! [Teleport has been learned] [Name] Damon Zellar [Class] None Level: 3(0/10) Strength: 7 Defense: 6 Agility: 6 Magic: 0 [Special Stats] Luck: 5 Intelligence: 4 *** Has not been unlocked yet (1/5) [Skills] Stealth(E) Teleport(F) [Ability to teleport to a location visited within the past 5 hours. 2/3 Skill that does not require ¡®Magic¡¯] A legendary skill! I can¡¯t believe I actually got one from a game of hide and seek! But that means there''s only one last skill that I can acquire before I have to put points into my Magic stat. His excitement seeped all the way down to his bones, and it registered with the whole class. They began shouting out in surprise, but it was mostly jealousy. They could¡¯ve been the ones to get the legendary skill, but this commoner has received it instead. It wasn¡¯t received we¡¯ll be the many nobles in the class, which caused them to start shouting complaints at Dan. ¡°Now now class, that was completely luck based. We had nothing to do with the skill he received,¡± said Dan while trying to calm his class down. ¡°We are interested at what skill you got though, Damon.¡± Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon. This time, his teacher directed his gaze at Damon, having his interest piqued by the sudden appearance of a legendary skill. ¡°Sorry, I won¡¯t be sharing the info with everyone. I would love if it could stay a secret,¡± responded Damon solemnly. The class was disappointed, but they couldn¡¯t do anything about it. Some insults were thrown at him, but that was probably because they were jealous that they weren¡¯t the ones that received the legendary skill. Next, Damon sat down and class started for real. Dan talked about monsters and how to deal with them for the whole day. The talks were a bit boring for Damon, so he ignored most of it until the end of the day. ¡°See you tomorrow Damon!¡± said Leon, while waving goodbye. ¡°Don¡¯t even think about disappearing because class is so boring!¡± ¡°Don¡¯t worry. I won¡¯t disappear forever just cause of a boring lecture,¡± replied Damon sarcastically. The two turned their backs on each other and headed towards home. What should I do tonight? Hunt some more monsters? So far I¡¯ve hunted one kobald, some goblins and monkeys. In his head, Damon was trying to remember all the monsters he had killed so far. Serves her right. She was a monster, so I guess it counts when she died. He silently chuckled to himself about the clever joke he made about Rachel. It was a serious topic, but he paid that no mind. He didn¡¯t care anyways. BUZZZ ¡°ugAhhaA,¡± shouted Damon out loud. A pain inducing headache was splitting his mind. It came out of nowhere, and brought Damon to his knees. Imagine setting fireworks off inside your skull, that would be about the same as what Damon felt. I-I¡ gotta get out of¡ here¡ Damon was struggling against the force, fearing that his life might be on the line. If a being could do this to him so easily, what would happen if he got caught? Tele...port¡ Acti...va- Out of nowhere, a familiar voice resonated inside the boy¡¯s head, interrupting the activation of his newly acquired skill. [You think you could shake me off with a measly skill like that? It doesn¡¯t seem like you¡¯re ready to face off against ¡®them¡¯ yet boy, so how could you face off against me in your current state? I¡¯ll have to speed up the process a tiny~ bit, just so you can get a little bit stronger.] ¡°Damn fairy! What the hell are you doing to me!¡± screamed Damon at the top of his lungs, but there was no one nearby that could hear him. [Do not worry~ You¡¯ll definitely have become stronger after this ordeal!] Her voice sounded cheerful and full of excitement, but this ordeal she talked about sent shivers down Damon¡¯s spine. What kind of ordeal was it that a mythical being had came to pick him up herself? She wasn¡¯t there in person, but the fairy¡¯s voice was chilling. ¡°Wherever you are, stop¡ gAHhh!¡± You wouldn¡¯t think he could collapse further than his knees, but that¡¯s exactly what happened to Damon. He fell unconscious, sprawled on the pavement. [Darn, now I have to do some work! Maybe I shouldn¡¯t have shouted that loudly so you could follow me yourself. Ugh-] With dissatisfaction, the fairy picked Damon up and opened a portal. [There you go boy! See ya!] Without hesitation, she tossed Damon through the portal to who knows where, and then closed it after confirming the boy had successfully made it through. [After this, I hope you¡¯ll finally have enough strength to do what I need you to do- that¡¯s why I gave you that gift after all!] A white portal, unlike the black one the fairy had just opened for Damon, opened up and the being went through it. As she passed through, a voice could be heard beyond. ¡°Where did you go!!! I never said you could go down to Earth! COME HERE RIGHT NOW YOU CURSED FAIRY!¡± [Hehe~] While the fairy was being scolded by someone, Damon was busy suffering in an alternate dimension. Where the hell am I! Where did that fairy take me! [Hell. That¡¯s where you are.] The being that spoke these words had a voice that was clearly not form this world. It had an unimaginable deep tone, that resounded throughout the whole place, and gave one a feeling when they heard it. One word, and it would make you cower in fear. It was the voice of¡ a devil. Chapter 20 - Its Hell? Damon faced a devil situated on a pedestal. The devil wasn¡¯t actually a devil, the material it was made out of was stone, and no body parts could be seen moving. It wasn¡¯t alive, but the voice was still coming out from the statue, which probably meant that there was magic involved that was transmitting the voice. The statue was about 5m tall, and it was shrouded in a black mist. A pair of huge black wings protruded from its back, and a face resembling that of a human let out its voice. [Welcome to Hell Damon. That damn fairy notified me that you were coming here to become stronger right?] ¡°Y-Yes, she d-did.¡± Damon could not help but stutter in the presence of this otherworldly being calling itself a devil. [Your goal is to stay alive until the set amount of time runs out.] [You will become stronger, yes, but you will change in not so positive ways too.] ¡°W-what do you mean ¡®not so positive¡¯?¡± [You¡¯ll see after.] One could almost hear laughter coming from the stone statue. Probably because of the unknown fate of the puny teenager that dared to take up it¡¯s challenge.. ¡°Wait! Answer my questions!¡± yelled Damon, but the devil statue spoke no more. It was all silent once again, and there was now time for the silver haired boy to take a look at his surroundings. It was.... Hell. The ground was made of red sand, there was a red haze in the air which contrasted with the black mist emitted by the statue, and black jagged pieces of rock littered the walls and ceiling. It seemed Damon was underground, but he couldn¡¯t tell, the red haze messed with his vision. The vastness of the space could not be seem, the ground seemed to stretch on forever Fuck, what do I do! Damon looked around for possible exits out of here, but there were none. The portal he had arrived in had disappeared, and not a single structure was built nearby. How the fuck do I survive here with no food and water. There¡¯s literally NOTHING! As if to prove him wrong, a loud growl rang out which startled Damon. Wondering about the source of the noise, he walked closer to investigate. After about 10 meters though, he had this strange premonition that shouted out for him not to get closer. It was his body telling him to not get closer to whatever had made that sound, because he would likely be in danger if he got any closer. His body screamed for him to get out of there, but his curiosity won over. If something made that sound, that meant it was alive. Therefore, he could eat and survive if he caught it. I have to catch it!This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author''s work. Damon prepared to activate stealth, but in those few moments, something pounced on him from its hiding spot! ¡°Gahhhh!¡± Damon tumbled down the hill with the thing on top of him, but it didn¡¯t make any moves. Not yet at least. He was lucky, because he didn¡¯t get impaled by any of those sharp stones on his way down, but the possibility of him still to survive from this encounter was not looking good. Once the two stopped rolling down the hill, which seemed to take forever to Damon, the thing stood on top of him. This thing was definitely a monster, anything that could survive in this hellhole was probably one. It¡¯s red fur allowed it to perfectly blend into the surroundings, which had helped in its ambush on Damon. Sharp canines protruded from its mouth, and dirty claws were attached to four legs. Damon had never seen this kind of monster before, and his monster training class never mentioned anything about it before. Was it a new species living in this weird place? Damon put that question aside because he had a more pressing matter to deal with right now. Why isn¡¯t it attacking? It¡¯s a monster, right? The phenomenon Damon had experience many times already happened again. Maybe that¡¯s why he wasn¡¯t shivering in fright right now. The feline like creature sniffed at Damon for a while before getting off of him. Standing up, it seemed to be around the same height as him, but if it only stood on its hind legs, it was probably double his height. As Damon slowly tried to get up while not making any movements that might anger the beast, he examined his body. It wasn¡¯t that injured, only a few minor cuts and bruises could be seen, and a little bit of blood that could be tasted inside his mouth. Probably him biting his lip on the way down the steep hill. Since he stood up properly, internal injuries wasn¡¯t a problem. After his quick inspection of his body condition, Damon looked at the giant, red.... wolf? Its species wasn¡¯t known, so he just decided to base it off of a similar animal he had seen in a zoo on Earth. The wolf in question, was standing still, as if waiting for Damon to greet it. Instead of it baring its fangs, they were tucked back into its mouth like it had turned passive all of a sudden. Instead of the ferocious growl from earlier, a purr fitting of a cat registered in his ears. To take a closer look at the creature, Damon put his doubt to the side and approached it cautiously. Up close, it didn¡¯t seem as menacing. It¡¯s eyes didn¡¯t give off an aura of ill intent, and its posture screamed obedience. This caused him to lower his guard just a tiny bit. Now that the initial encounter was over, there was enough time for Damon to think over his situation. Should I kill it for food? That might not be a good idea. If this thing is like the other monsters from before, it would actually be more beneficial to keep it with me. The wolf had been living in this place for a long time. That means it knew the layout of the land, places for food and water, and it could even offer protection as Damon walked. ¡°I¡¯ll call you Buna,¡± said Damon, all traces of unease gone from his voice. The wolf looked at Damon as if it liked the name. It even came close and started cuddling with his face. This implied that it understood him, even though it wasn¡¯t possible for it to communicate back. Guess it isn¡¯t hostile anymore. ¡°Show me where the food and water is Buna. Also, protect me from other hostile monsters,¡± ordered Damon. If there were any others that were willing to listen to Damon, he wanted to meet them and make them do the same as Buna. He could eventually create a monster army! That dream of his was near impossible on Earth, but in this place¡ it just might be possible. Buna nodded its head in agreement. ¡°Now, are you a girl or a boy?¡± wondered Damon. It would be nice to know, so Damon looked toward its rear. ¡°A girl it is.¡± Having found out a lot about his new subordinate, Damon followed the wolf, Buna, hoping to find some food and water. Just standing in this humid air made him thirsty, so Damon urged Buna to be quicker. [Special Stat *** (2/5) unlocked. 3 more narrow escapes from death needed to unlock the Special Stat ***] It seems like my system deemed this as a narrow escape from death. If was any other person and this strange phenomenon didn¡¯t happen again, they surely would have died. Having understood the message for once, Damon continued being led around by Buna. While this continued, a being was watching Damon from above, while staying hidden. [Oho, it seems you got a few unique traits there, human boy. Not only the legendary Omega System, but ¡®that ability¡¯ as well.] Giant black wings flapped in the air, as this familiar devil watched the human boy¡¯s progress through the devil¡¯s territory. [I wonder how long you¡¯ll last here boy. It¡¯ll be interesting to watch you attempt to survive in my world.] With a small smile on the corner of the devil¡¯s face, it continued to follow Damon from far above without the boy knowing at all. Chapter 21 - Battle for Survival! As Damon traversed the difficult terrain, Buna started showing signs of aggression. She was sniffing the ground, as if searching for prey and she started leading Damon to a dark cave. She stopped right in front of it and turned her head towards Damon. What should I do? Does Buna want me to go in first? As if reading his mind, the wolf started pushing Damon into the cave, but he didn¡¯t want to suddenly get attacked. Quietly, he activated stealth and started walking in. Buna didn¡¯t seem surprised by the erasure of Damon¡¯s presence¡ maybe she didn¡¯t sense the change at all? Hm, maybe stealth doesn¡¯t work on beings that I deem are allies? Damon had thought of Buna the wolf as kind of a pet now, so the system might have allowed Buna to see through stealth. Or¡ Buna is stronger than me and stealth doesn¡¯t work on her. Just imagining something able to endanger his life walking a few steps beside him freaked Damon out. If the wolf hadn¡¯t stopped attacking¡ Forget it, she didn¡¯t attack, so why am I even worrying about it? Not wanting to think about the matter more, Damon switched his attention onto his cave exploration. A faint disgusting smell was in the air, it was like the smell of rotting corpses. That meant that there was definitely a living thing in their that was eating or hunting whatever the corpses were before they died. If Damon sent Buna in to fight, he could probably secure some food without having to do anything! But what does monster meat taste like¡ I rather not try it, but if there¡¯s nothing else¡ Damon hated facing the fact that his only source of food was going to be from the meat from the monsters living in this hell like place. Plants didn¡¯t seem like they could grow here, so that option was out. He needed water to survive too, but where would he find that! The hot temperature probably evaporated all the water already---even the sweat on his back was gone. ¡°Buna, what do you drink here?¡± Damon decided to just ask Buna, because she was a resident of this horrible place and she was clearly still alive. Buna stopped in her tracks and sat down on its hind legs. At the sudden stop, Damon watched Buna to see what kind of response she would give to him. Would the wolf show him a water source or not even be able to understand his question? But she seemed like she had understood some of his words, because of earlier, so there was a good chance she would try to answer Damon¡¯s question now as well. The wolf¡¯s claws came out again and she scratched her other paw. Then, blood started gushing out, and Buna raised it up towards Damon¡¯s face. ¡°Wait, you drink blood?!¡± asked Damon surprisingly. Buna seemingly nodded her head and motioned for Damon to drink.A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. Is blood their only source to keep themselves hydrated? Then won¡¯t you just run out of blood eventually¡ unless you drink the blood of monsters you hunt¡ Damon, having drank water to keep himself hydrated since forever was inwardly puking at the thought of being forced to drink blood from now on to stay alive. He decided to drink it later if he had to, and that would only be when he was seriously dehydrated to the point he could die. Damon told Buna that they would walk in deeper, and they started. The farther they went, the stench of corpses assaulted their noses more and more. Damon started pinching his nose, but Buna didn¡¯t seem affected. She probably had to deal with this smell everyday in the search for food. Now, the source of the smell finally came into view, but there was a giant thing sitting in front of it. It was 3m tall, had rough, green skin, had a tiny tunic covering its private part, and had a giant wooden club in hand. A troll?! A troll from classic fantasy tales had just appeared in front of his eyes! Damon felt anxious standing in front of it even though it was sleeping, but he had to kill it if he wanted food. Having made a plan together with Buna, they started their sneaky assault. The plan was for Damon to hide behind the troll when it was sleeping, and hit its head as hard as he could. Then, when it woke up, Buna would distract it from Damon while he got on its back and strangled it. It was dangerous, yes, but necessary. Having Buna and the troll fight one on one would be a rash decision that would end in his demise. Damon got behind the troll and initiated the plan by throwing a big rock at the troll¡¯s head with as much strength he could muster. The result was clear. The troll burst awake with a loud shout. GaaRHH! The moment the troll awoke, Damon stood silent behind it while Buna started attacking with her sharp claws and canines. Scratches appeared on the monster¡¯s whole body, but it didn¡¯t seem fazed. It dumbly chased after Buna, but she evaded with speed and accuracy. It was almost like a game of tag between a baby and an adult. Finally, the troll got tired and stopped in place. It thought Buna was the only opponent, so it didn¡¯t even think of protecting its back. It was the perfect chance for Damon! Finally, he got to test out teleport. Earlier, to make sure he had ¡®visited¡¯ the troll¡¯s back, he had touched it lightly with his hand. Now, he could make it up there without having to climb! Teleport activate! [Teleport(F) Activated] Damon¡¯s body disappeared and reappeared on the troll¡¯s back. It was an instantaneous movement, but the instant teleportation didn''t faze Damon at all. He was determined to win this fight, it showed on his face and through his body language. GuRgH!! The troll started making choking sounds as Damon strangled it with his hands, while exerting the maximum amount of power he could. The troll tried to shake him off, but he hanged on as best he could. Buna, seeing his efforts, started attacking viciously as well. She bit the troll¡¯s legs and impaled them with her claws. The combined efforts of the two ended up bearing fruit. The troll finally fell down on its face after having struggled against strangulation and fierce bite marks and puncture wounds. Trolls were supposed to have strong regenerative abilities, but one couldn¡¯t heal not having access to air. This fight ended in Damon¡¯s victory, mostly because of his well thought up plan. A familiar message popped up in front of Damon. [Level Up!] What? But I only killed one monster! Didn¡¯t I have to kill another 10 to level up? Damon was confused as he attempted to clean himself after touching the dirty, dirt riddled troll. But then, his gaze shifted to the pile of corpses. He counted exactly 9¡ which meant¡ Does the system count the number of monsters a more powerful monster, that I defeated, has killed before? So this troll killed 9 monsters¡ plus me killing the troll itself would equal 10! A new discovery about how the system gave out levels provided more insight on how Omega System actually worked. Leaving Buna to watch out for him and take care of the troll, Damon started playing with his system. [Level Up Rewards] -Strength +1 -Defense +1 -Agility +1 -Magic +1 Damon chose defense, because Buna could do the attacking, but he needed to be able to defend himself too. A familiar feeling of his body changing occured, and then he checked his stat page. [Name] Damon Zellar [Class] None Level: 4(0/10) Strength: 7 Defense: 7 Agility: 6 Magic: 0 [Special Stats] Luck: 5 Intelligence: 4 *** Has not been unlocked yet (2/5) [Skills] Stealth(E) Teleport(F) Considering an average adult male back on Earth had stats of about 5, Damon was already in the top percentage, physically wise. Deciding on finding out what one stat in magic looked like next time, he moved onto the main event of the day¡ the troll. Chapter 22 - Mythic Class The once imposing monster was lying still on the ground, with Buna doing something beside it. The blood was still leaking out of the body, and the wolf was drinking it. I¡¯m getting pretty thirsty too, especially from that fight right now¡ but I don¡¯t want to drink blood. Ugh, one gulp won¡¯t hurt me right? Damon contemplated whether drinking the blood would hurt him or not, but he was more worried about the taste. If it had a foul taste, he would probably gag and spit it back out. Doesn¡¯t matter anymore, it¡¯s either now or later so I may as well just get it over with. Damon crouched down and collected some blood that was dripping in his hand. Without a second thought, he tilted his head backwards and drank the blood in one motion. It tasted¡ Surprisingly good? He thought the moment he substance entered his mouth, he would start gagging but that didn¡¯t happen. It slid down his throat and even got rid of his thirst. Wow, it doesn¡¯t taste half ba- A few moments after taking in the blood, a change in his body occurred that was different from the usual level up sensation. Is this because of the blood? Damon could feel his control over his mind slipping, and his body received a spontaneous increase in strength. From Buna¡¯s point of view, one could even observe his eyes turning dark red after ejecting his brown contact lenses, and his silver hair shining more brightly than it usually did. Also, two pairs of jagged teeth could be see on the upper and lower jaw of his mouth. They were about as sharp as Buna¡¯s own, and probably boasted the same amount of attack potential as well. Before Damon could completely lose himself, his system saved him. [An unusual occurrence has happened to the host.] [The Mythic Class ¡®Progenitor Vampire Descendant¡¯ has been granted to the host.] [This Mythic Class grants a +10 increase to all stats other than the special stats for 10 minutes, on the requirement that the host ingests blood.] [Once mastered (Currently 1%), the class will evolve.] What the hell just happened! Damon had just gotten a flurry of notifications from his system that confused him greatly. Just taking in a little bit of blood from a dead troll had caused this big of a change in his system, so he was completely lost. This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it. The important thing was that he finally has been awarded a class. It was a mythic class, but it wasn''t clear what that meant. Classes didn¡¯t exist on Earth until now, that was until Omega System bestowed it upon Damon. I guess it¡¯s rarer than a legendary item? A mythic item wasn''t mentioned in class, so maybe it¡¯s an even higher ranked rarity? The name didn¡¯t make sense to Damon, because how could he be the descendant¡ Wait, my hair is silver¡ my eyes are red, and I don''t know anything about my father. Also, blood doesn¡¯t taste bad to me. It can¡¯t be a coincidence¡.right? A clue to his family had been given to Damon right then and there, but since further investigation could not be conducted, he let go of his curiosity for now. He inspected the description and was surprised by the buff the class gave him and the chance for the class to evolve. You mean I could get even stronger!? It''s already increasing my stats by 10, yet it could potentially increase it by more?! What an overpowered class, no wonder it¡¯s mythic ranked. [Name] Damon Zellar [Class] Progenitor Vampire Descendant (Mythic) Level: 4(0/10) Strength: 7(+10) Defense: 7(+10) Agility: 6(+10) Magic: 0(+10) [Special Stats] Luck: 5 Intelligence: 4 *** Has not been unlocked yet (2/5) [Skills] Stealth(E) Teleport(F) He looked at his stat window, and indeed, all his stats other than the special stats had been buffed by 10 points. Now that I found out that it doesn¡¯t taste too bad, I guess I can drink it without hesitation now. Damon grabbed a few plastic ziplocs that were in his bag, and started filling them to the brim with the troll¡¯s blood as Buna watched him curiously. When Damon arrived in this different dimension, his school stuff didn¡¯t disappear, his bag and other belongings were still on his back unharmed. After a few minutes of collecting blood, the energy from his body started to decrease bit by bit. It seemed like the buff was finally wearing off after the 10 minute mark that had been stated in the description. All I have to do is ingest some blood, so even a drop of blood would be fine. Also, it didn¡¯t say there was a limit to high many times I could use it, so I could use it 24/7 if I wan- Almost if on cue, Damon¡¯s body collapsed on the ground from the toll on his body. If one was supplied power greater than one¡¯s body could handle, it¡¯d overload it and cause great stress, sometimes, it was even fatal. The only reason Damon didn¡¯t lose his consciousness or suffer a greater consequence was because of his strong body. He had trained it rigorously, so unlike others who focused on the power in their skills, Damon could withstand the side effect because his body was barely enough to handle the power from the buff. Damon lay there catching his breath for a little while, but he couldn¡¯t afford to rest for too long. His battle with the troll would have caught the attention of surrounding monsters, because Buna showed signs of hostility and her ears and nose were pointed towards the mouth of the cave. Now, let¡¯s see if the troll dropped anything and gather some of it¡¯s meat for later. Damon had already adjusted to the lifestyle he would have to be living in this hellhole. Blood instead of water, and monster meat instead of normal Earth food. He was already prepared for what''s to come, so he didn¡¯t bat an eyelash at having to preserve the troll¡¯s meat for later. Slowly, Damon stood up with the help of Buna and the two started dissecting the troll. When he was little, he had to help with a lot of cooking, sometimes involving dissecting the chicken and other animals. Now, that skill came to use as Damon grabbed ahold of how to dissect monsters. Monsters aren¡¯t that different from animals huh? It¡¯s really easy to separate the meat from it¡¯s bones and organs. After some time of tirelessly cutting up the troll, Damon came to a stop. How am I going to carry all this meat though? There¡¯s almost enough to fill up a whole car! Realizing his dilemma, his spirit dropped, until he saw a glint coming from the dead monster. Carefully, he picked it up from the remains, but it was just a leather sack Darn it, I thought I found an useful item for one second. [Spatial Bag Acquired] [Any item that is placed inside the Spatial Bag has it¡¯s time suspended, and it¡¯s weight reduced to 0.] I guess it¡¯s going to be useful then! With efficiency and the help of Buna, the stacks of meat were successfully stored inside the spatial bag, which was kept inside of one of Damon¡¯s zipped pockets. As the two were on their way out, another rather similar roar to the one they heard before resounded through the cave. Dammit, I¡¯m still single yet these damn monsters have already found partners?! Fuck this place! Chapter 23 - New Subordinate GaRHhhH! A troll angrily lumbered towards Damon as he and Buna prepared themselves for a fight. It seemed like the smell of its partner¡¯s blood had driven it into a frenzy. Dammit, one after another eh. This is really bad, but if I could take it down¡ Damon thought of the reward he could reap from this other troll if he took it down as the seconds ticked past. With the teamwork between him and the wolf, it wouldn¡¯t be too hard to kill the monster because they had a successful plan made already. The only thing was that Damon was exhausted, and could barely fight properly. I need to succeed on my first try, otherwise, I¡¯ll be in for a beating. Finally, the troll arrived in front of the two who stood waiting. It was a meter taller than the one from before and looked even more savage. Having confirmed that he would need the power of his mythic class to win this one, Damon took out one of the stored packets of blood and drank it. Instantly, his body was revitalized as the notification that the +10 stat point buff had indeed been activated. [All stats other than the special stats will receive a +10 buff for the next 10 minutes.] Let¡¯s do this! And then they sprang into action. Buna attacked fearlessly at the troll¡¯s legs and lower body, inflicting many shallow puncture wounds, but keeping its attention nonetheless. With the new vampire fangs and claws gifted to him through his newly acquired class, Damon jumped onto the back of the troll. He grabbed onto the troll¡¯s head and stabbed at its eyes, while it attempted to shake him off. Having recognized that Damon was more of a threat than the wolf with red fur down below, the monster tried to slam him against the wall to knock him off. Fortunately, Damon¡¯s claws had dug deep into the monster¡¯s eyes allowing him to stay hanging. GArghhHa! The troll was now blind, for both of its eyes had been wounded by the person on its back. Because of the horrendous pain from losing its eyesight, the towering monster started going into a frenzy, attacking in all directions with no thought. ¡°Buna! Get away from there-¡± Buna tried to retreat, but somehow, one of the troll¡¯s arms that it was swinging around randomly with all its might smashed into the wolf¡¯s side. aAAWooHH! Damon¡¯s pet wolf howled in pain, bones clearly crushed from that one fearsome attack. Dammit, I need to save Buna quickly! But what do I do wit- Damon had to jump out of the way from another one of the monster¡¯s random attacks. It was lumbering around swinging its arms like a rabid beast without a care if it hit the enemies or not. Finally seeing that the troll wasn¡¯t headed towards his injured companion, he sprinted towards her. ¡°I still need you Buna, don''t die now!¡± Remembering something useful from one of his classes, Damon came with an idea. If he truly was a descendant of a powerful vampire like his system stated, then his blood could heal others. Slowly and carefully, Damon let some of the blood from one of his wounds fall into the wolf¡¯s mouth.Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site. Damon¡¯s companion¡¯s breathing calmed down, and it seemed like her body had healed a little bit. A familiar notification sound rang, but it¡¯s owner was currently occupied. Now that he had assured that Buna wouldn¡¯t die anytime soon, the blood drenched teen had to take care of the enemy swiftly. Damon decided that aiming for the throat was a good idea this time, after all, if any living thing didn¡¯t have access to air then they would die. Most of his body¡¯s energy was transferred to his legs because they would be doing most of the work for this final strike, at least Damon hoped it would be the final strike. Hup! The teen that very much resembled a vampire leaped into the air towards the troll¡¯s head while it was still dumbly swinging its arms around. This would be Damon¡¯s last chance at winning this battle. Buna was injured and most likely not able to fight, and even his own buff was close to running out. If this strike didn¡¯t hit¡ no he had to make sure it hit! As Damon soared through the air, he yelled out something which made the troll turn towards the sound. The neck was now in clear view, and Damon prepared himself. ¡°Dieeeeee!!!¡± Flying straight towards the monster¡¯s exposed neck through the air, Damon pulled his arms back and thrust his arms forwards with his remaining energy. The claws pierced right through the neck of the monster. The two were so close that the foul smell coming off the body of the troll invaded Damon¡¯s nose. That wasn¡¯t important though, what was important was that his claws were deeply imbedded into the monster¡¯s thick neck and blood was gushing out. GuUrgeLAgaA! The choking sound coming from the dying monster was unpleasant yet strangely satisfying to his ears. Making sure that the thing was finally dead, Damon removed his hands and lay down on the ground while breathing heavily. ¡°Are you ok master?¡± asked a girl¡¯s voice out of nowhere. Huh!? Out of surprise, the tiredness he had been feeling was quickly gone as Damon turned his head towards the origin of the voice. Buna was nowhere to be seen, but a girl with fur was standing in her place. She was...cute. Wow, she¡¯s cute. Her clear skin and fine face stood out the most, her body was well developed with a bouncy pair of things attached to her chest, and her legs were long and slender. After the initial look at her though, Damon noticed something unusual about the girl. She had a pair of wolf ears and a tail, both which were covered in red fur. ¡°Is that you¡ Buna?¡± questioned Damon in a weak voice. ¡°Yes it is master. It seems like you need some help there,¡± replied the changed Buna. As Buna came to help Damon sit upright, the baffled teen body that no longer had weapons attached to his body (Claws and fangs) asked several questions. ¡°How did your body change? Also, why are you calling me master? How can you speak!¡± ¡°I don¡¯t know honestly. I blacked out for a few moments after you graciously healed me, and then I awoke to a dead troll and you collapsed over here,¡± said Buna in a matter of fact way. ¡°More importantly, I am very grateful to have been saved by master!¡± Damon remembered something important that had occured in the middle of the battle, so he told her to save the thanks for later. A notification had appeared around the same time he had healed his companion. His system was opened and the notification said, [The target¡¯s ¡®Obedience Level¡¯ has went from (Cooperative) to (Loyal) after ingesting the host¡¯s blood.] [Owner] Damon Zellar [Subordinate Name] Buna [Obedience Level] Loyal [Power Level] 2 [Form] Werewolf (Evolved from ¡®Wolf¡¯ due to the consumption of Progenitor Vampire Descendant¡¯s blood.) Ability when fighting alongside ¡®Owner¡¯: -Owner¡¯s stats other than ¡®Special Stats¡¯ +2 -Subordinate¡¯s ¡®Power Level¡¯ increased by 0.5 All of that information popped up when Damon requested for info on Buna inside his mind. It seemed like Buna had evolved and became completely loyal to him only because she consumed some of Damon¡¯s own blood. Does that mean any monster that tastes my blood becomes my subordinate? As if to answer his question, the system responded.. [To obtain a ¡®Loyal¡¯ subordinate, the blood of a Progenitor Vampire Descendant must be consumed by one who has a ¡®Cooperative¡¯ ¡®Obedience Level¡¯ first. Also, the subordinate will increase their power level because of the consumption of the blood.] So it seems because of my class, my blood will make cooperative subordinates completely loyal and give them the extra push to make them stronger. It seems like my blood also has the option to evolve their form. That explains why Buna looks like a human and can communicate with me now. There were certain buffs if she fought along with Damon too, including a buff to all his stats by 2 and his new subordinate to receive an increase in strength. ¡°Why are you so happy master? I am still so very happy that you saved me back there!¡± said Buna excitedly. ¡°No problem,¡± said Damon with a cheerful smile on his face. ¡°You¡¯ll be a big help with my battles from now on as well, so I¡¯m also glad I saved you.¡± ¡°Thank you so much master!¡± said Buna in admiration. I got an excellent subordinate, who¡¯s pretty cute too! Not only is she pretty, she increases my battle strength as well! This is such a great turn of events! ¡°Do you need me to collect possible drops from the troll master?¡± asked Buna. ¡°Yeah sure, just let me bathe in happiness for now,¡± replied Damon dazedly as he watched his cute, loyal werewolf look for item drops while also thinking about what he could accomplish now. Ah, if this wasn¡¯t an alternate dimension resembling hell that is ruled by a devil, I¡¯d say I would be blessed.¡± With a sigh, Damon resigned himself to some rest and to watch Buna do her thing, now that there weren¡¯t any monsters around.
