After getting to the desk I see a stack of books beside a single book that has a title ''What You Will Need To Know'' Upon opening it on the first page there is a letter -"""- To Sapphire,Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions. I am Rain Fortuna. I am the one who has brought you into this world, using a part of my own soul to craft your consciousness. I am truly sorry I couldn''t stay to teach you anything, but I should of left all my knowledge to help you survive. This knowledge I left ranges from books of tips to keep you from being tricked by others to just about the world itself. My goal. When I started to create you was as a vessel to continue my research, but as time passed as I put more time into your creation I started to think of you as my own daughter. Silly, isn''t it? I believe that you should have your own freedom to make choices. You have my own soul so I have no doubt that you will one day dive into research on your own will, but you need not rush yourself as you are not like me. You are much more of a... completed package. You will not have to worry about having to eat, sleep, or the effect of age. You have a massive amount of magic resistance and your body is as hard as steel. You are stronger than 100 men and you have the beauty to rival Aphrodite, not to brag. You need not worry about restrictions, I allow you to take any path you like. Unlike a normal golem with a pseudo-soul you have an actual soul. What this means is that you can grow further by taking a job and class as well as taking the power from your enemies to enhance your growth. But beware, you are not invincible, there are many stronger than you. You must think through your actions, protect yourself. The whole world may not be your enemy but much of it will try to manipulate you for their own often nefarious purposes. But daughter o'' mine, you have much knowledge and skills inherited from me. You have a start many would dream of, but this is no exscuse not to stay humble, pride is your friend and your biggest enemy! Those who are consumed by pride have a habit of their nose being caved in, but it is also something all professionals must have to be respected. The world is a dangerous yet extremely beautiful place. I... just hope you can forgive me for leaving you alone. I hope you can find a family. A cyborg, which is a homunculi combined with an automata that I have taught so that you could have a friend (I went all out for you!). I did not use a pseudo-soul on her but used a spirit tear instead so she is as human as you are. I hope you guys get along and can enjoy an adventure to see the world. In the basement I have left two sets of equipment and plenty of necessary clothing (underwear, night clothes, ect.). There are also item bags, space rings, Sleipnir shoes, mithril spider tread clothing, and robes that are made through the most advanced techniques for the two of you. There are tons of potions in storage too. I can''t stop repeating that I hope you can forgive me that I couldn''t do more for you. I hope that one day you will call me mother if we ever meet in the void after you have passed *sniff*. I start going down stairs to the storage area and grab and throwing everything into the bags split between them. After I finish I take out one set of mithril spider web clothing for my self and another for my friend I''m about to meet. ...But before that I run upstairs and shove all the books up there into my chronus ring. I go down all the stairs and I see a mirror and see my appearance I am a white haired loli with sapphire colored eyes. I have two horns that wrap from back pointing to the front that are gold. I continue forward the large cryo-chamber holding Moms body. It seems like she isn''t even dead or for that matter even 30. The chamber that are holding mom are made mostly out of rare crystal similar to quartz to make them durable and see through. She is in a fluid full of nutrients with multiple pumps attached to her in various places to repair damage and to sustain her body. Her body is held in a extremely cool temperature to slow her bodies'' functions. I walk past her and see a second tube holding a...Goddess. I seem to have stood there for a minute I then walked over to the console and hit the release button. A large fan starts to spin, I hear a large vibrating sound as the top of the tube rises and all the liquid drains, the cords come off her body. Steam is released and a bed comes out catching her. I slowly walk over to her. She is so beautiful, she has long black hair that goes down to her knees as it flairs out, a small button nose, rosy pink lips. Her skin is a dark brown and is hyper smooth. She has ears reminiscent of a elf and 4 horns that are coming out of the back of her head. She has two large wings that are a deep crimson red. It was love at first sight. I slowly approach her face magnetized by her lips. "Her lips look delicious." My mouth suddenly gets filled by a warm tentacle tasting of a sweet chocolate cookie but somehow sweeter. It tastes addicting it makes you want more. A thin yet strong arm goes around my back pulling me closer as her tongue goes deeper into my mouth as my body gets hotter. After a minute she releases me and takes a breath and then speaks. SERIES] and [RUIN SERIES] due to the inheritance procedure." She also sounds quite human except for the inputed information. It was a this point we reached the main hall, It was a large room with a table in a simple room with a large monitor on the wall. There were two chairs in front of the table also in the corners of the room are tall book shelves that are magic tools with space magic on them. But all the dust you would expect from six months of no one in there is not there thanks to the maids. [SCANNING MANA SIGNATURES] [... One half went to create Sapphire and the other I kept to allow me to continue to move and ''live'' luckily my soul has grown over my long life so losing half will do nothing but lower my maximum amount of mana. If I give myself time I would normally recover. Well the reason I created Sapphire was so all my research could be continued since I would soon die. Originally I thought I was dying due to age, thinking due to me living almost 4 times longer then my race normally does. I thought my life span was most likely due to my massive mana pool practically stopping my aging by bringing me closer to magic particles. ...But the reason is not age but a disease. The disease normally is harmless to most people but I got infected with it. It is called Magic Circuit Crystallization (MCC) normally you can''t get it if you can control your mana but it can''t be helped. My only theory why right now is age or outside interference. Sadly as of right now there is no cure. It is the reason that most people can''t be mages. It passes through inheritance and the water. Well, anyway, I hope you can forgive me for that I couldn''t stay around and teach you about the world, about people, about love. ...But I hope you can get along each other and you two go and see the world together. I suggest that you two join the guild in the Millea Kingdom I was a old friend of the king and the upper nobles there, and taught the guild leaders everything they know. You won''t be discriminated there as it is a kingdom full of demons and beastmen and other races. I have also left two Chimeras to act as your familiars that will help you, and they''re abilities will change as they evolve. They are in the room to the left. All you have to do is run you mana into they eggs. So I just suggest you join the Adventurer Guild, they will protect you no matter which kingdom you go to. They have a policy of not allowing interference in their procedures, or promising adventurers from nobles. They are not part of any county but they are in all of them. They are the main defense against monsters, devils and mana beasts. "Thank you Mom" "Yeah, lets go pick up the familiars Creator-sama has prepared." We go to the room mentioned and see... 4-Dinner and new family ¡­ and see two large eggs, one white and one black. Large wouldn''t even begin to describe their size they are the same size as a house. No, they are bigger. I know chimera type familiar eggs tend to be big as they have a very amorphous form through their evolution,.Normally at best they are the size of people, because they get bigger and more unstable as more creatures DNA are added. Familiars are mana beasts that are one of two types. Type one is a monster or mana beast tamed by force (kicking their ass till they are half dead and then putting mana in them by the taming skill or slavery spell) or by mana conditioning before their birth, by hatching eggs with your mana cycling through theirs or as soon as they''re born putting mana into them slowly as you clean them. Type two is a contract that can be made by dragons, monsters, mana beasts, spirits, and devils can make giving some of their power or allowing you to summon them in return for something. The upside of type one taming is that you have complete control over your familiar and there is no real downside. Compared to Type two which the upside is that they give you some of the strength of the creature that you contracted and the downside that they are not under your control but equal partners. There are people who do both on the same familiar known as beastmasters, but most people only do one or the other. Mother studied them and created The technique we are going to use. "Well... just run our mana through the eggs!" We both put our hands on our egg. I picked the white one and Andria picked the black one and we slowly put about 95% of our mana in our eggs while invoking a constant contract spell. Then my egg is the first to crack...slowly the egg expands, and then it glows. Next, it shrinks into a small orb that has two horns. Color returns to it and shows that it is a slime with two horns. They both have rare skills, for Richt, there is Body Harden and Resonance, and for Nina all her abilities are rare. A quick explanation of the skills that aren''t instantly identifiable are Resonance, it lets you take the mana and strength from one to boost the other (take his to further strengthen me) and rapidly drain stamina (both of us have infinite stamina making it so broken that even I am aware). Landscape Method allows you to instantly transfer anywhere within 14 meters while touching the ground using mana as fuel, and finally, Shadow Arts which is the ability to enter and move around in shadows and be able to use shadow magic. I tell the capabilities of Andria''s chimera to her, while said chimera at the moment is the size of a house cat rubbing its face on hers while sitting on her shoulder. I''m curious about the feeling that makes me want to grab and throw it. "Isn''t Nina cute? But she has really rare skills, so she''s definitely a great draw." The feeling mysteriously goes away by looking at Andria''s smile. "I like the smooth, squishy feeling of Richt better. She also fits my fighting style better." We play with our familiars for awhile and the maid head comes in and asks us to "Please prepare for dinner." "Yes we are on our way" We leave the room and head for the dining hall. ... There are only two seats right beside each other...will this be okay? We sit down anyway, and the food is brought out. This time is apparently an orc fillet. The two of us don''t need to eat but it helps with mana recovery and it is just pleasant to eat good tasting food with other people. Andria cuts apart a part of her fillet slowly leans over flashes a quick smile and says "Say Ahh" My cheeks heat up with my heart and redden a little. It''s this, the legendary ''say ahh'' treatment, it was something from every single romance novel ever according to ''my'' memories. I blushed brighter the longer I thought about it. "If you don''t want it I''ll eat it." Instead of responding I jumped at it and ate it. After sitting for a minute the words " Here, say ahh" as put the fork in front of her with my hand keeping anything from dripping. "Oh my, why thank you." She acted surprised but it was clear that she was expecting it. Oh well, at least she seemed ecstatic anyway. Dinner continued with this interaction on repeat and ended in about twenty minutes. I knew we wouldn''t get sleep if I refused but "Un" was all I could get out. Both of us were tired so we fell asleep quickly. It was probably a good thing because if we didn''t we wouldn''t get any sleep. 5-Awake First The next morning before the sun rises. ~Andria''s side~ I woke up first and roll to look at Sapphire who is laying beside me she is cutely hanging onto me. Her arms are wrapped around me and her legs are tangled with mine with an extremely innocent face on. I couldn''t help but poke at her cheek and watch her squirm cutely. I was created when the Creator-sama was nearing the end of her life due to an illness she shouldn''t have been able to contract normally so she was trying to pass on her research to someone had the talent to continue it. I learned it all instantly surprising Creator-sama but due to my personality I wasn''t very good at research or innovation so I suggested she split her soul and then put her self on ice until a cure is found. While I would support her ''other half''. Due to this I even occasionally got to go outside with her so I could learn skills that she didn''t have because she was strictly a ''mage''. I believed this to be a complete lie, but she didn''t listen to it. I didn''t have magic suitability other than light, dark and enhancement, so I learned a support role with a lot of flexibility. I could do a little bit of everything, but the main style I learned is using the spear and dagger. I chose this so I could cover someone else or take out threats before they notice me. I learned a style that allows me to parry and control distance using the dagger and to land kill shots with the spear. She did a lot of research on the soul, the composition of the universe and the mana that gives us the power to live off this planet of monsters, devils, and deities. This was already a long time ago for her. She even ''interviewed'' (closer to interrogation in most cases) many devils and gods for knowledge on the soul, how it works, its structure, etc. There was one problem with spitting her soul, that was her soul was too high quality for homunculi or too big for automata even with it split in half. So she instead went to golems. Normally they are just precursors to learn the basics until one is able to make automata or they are used to make vehicles. ...But the one thing they have over all other options is flexibility. They can be so basic as just being a core and some mud to as detailed as magi tech suits. Magi-tech suits take the main core programmed to control hundreds of sub-cores that make up tiny ''golems'' to make up an armor that changes shape to match the situation. It is this concept that makes up our clothes they have a base made of mithril spider web and have ''golems'' to change its size, shape, and style. They are so proficient at it can create weapons like daggers or swords or whips then return to its original shape by filling it with mana and having an image. They also have a self-cleaning function and can also change color. She built a golem to place a part of her soul in. She made it with a dungeon core as its core and its ''muscles'' were made of a silicon-adamantine fiber. The bones were made with of orichalcum and the skin was a wing-fiber of an elder mithril dragon. The nails and hairs are made of mithril micro-golems that it could control to change its length leading to its white hair. Its golden horns are made of the freshly shed horn from a baby golden dragon to speed up its mana recovery by absorbing it from the atmosphere. The eyes are made of two refined and compressed storm spirit stones. Instead of blood, it has a liquid mana solution created by the dungeon core. It is also filled with micro-golems to repair the damage that is also created by the core. The golem named sapphire is predicted to be able to lift an entire mountain, survive being decapitated, and turn a lake into a desert with a single fireball. However, there was a limiter put on so her abilities would be released at a rate that they could be controlled, well her nigh indestructibility can''t really be changed. Compared to me who is a homunculus created using the blood of an ancient blood dragon, the progenitor of the vampires, and the sage Rain Fortuna. However, that was not all I was enhanced by using a blank dungeon core inside my heart as I was formed. This gave me a regeneration and mana recovery boost that pushed my survivability over the edge making my DNA samples couldn''t be killed without turning it into ash (which was also difficult due to dragon DNA). My arms and legs were replaced by synthetic ones made the same way as sapphires but with micro-golems instead of a solid structure and with an elder dark dragon instead of a mithril dragon. My organs replaced by various monster organs, my skin was grown based off humanized dragons so it is just basically a bunch of intertwined scales. One of my eyes was implanted from a thousand eye devil and the other is a transplant from a devil eye holder and it is a devil eye of mana perception. This allows nothing to escape my sight and a bit of future sight. my smooth black hair is based off the mane of an ancient Nightmare. It is practically an armor of its own. My brain has been enhanced with an AMC (automata memory circuit), APC (automata processor circuit) and my spine replaced with an enhanced one that allows me to control all the micro golems. My wings were taken from a war-angel but were tainted by my magical power letting me use light magic. My horns are a special as they are from an ancient devil named !@#$#$&^%, they are harder than any other material that creator-sama knew and give me an ability similar to space magic and allow me to use the same skills as the ancient devil though some of these are sealed with some of the power of the tech implants until my main body catches up in performance to handle them. Those are our base performances but there''re growth codes in the spells in the dungeon cores so that we will continue to grow after we reach those by altering the construction of our cells and materials. We still aren''t the strongest even with this. A great example of something stronger is a high devil at birth. It is stronger than our base performance, but with training and time, we can overcome them just like Creator-sama. Well, for now, we will adventure and become stronger and enjoy where the flow takes us. That is what Creator-sama would have wanted for Sapphire and me. Ohh it seems sapphire is waking up, can''t wait to see her react to my teasing today. I don''t mind if this continues. It''s better than some of the possible futures. 6-Prepertion and Departure ~Sapphires side~ "It tickles...stop it." I roll over and bury my face further into the mysterious soft object that''s in front of my face. "Come on stop it, wake up." I feel some shaking so I squeeze harder. "WAKE UP!" I open my eyes and look towards the voice and see two mounds to either side of my vision. It''s comfortable, soft and warm. "Good morning sleepy head are you going to stay there and keep sleeping or are you going to move and actually wake up?" It was at this moment that I was awake enough that I realized what I was burying my face into. I blush, release her, and jump out of bed in the process knocking Nina off the end of the bed. Luckily Richt saved me from hurting my butt. Seeming a bit disappointed Andria spoke "It seems you''re up now. Well, let us get dressed and check what we have and leave towards the city." I''m extremely embarresed while getting dressed, but I can''t stop peeking as she changes. I''m completely unable to forget the feeling of Andria''s breast. It was soft yet fle...NO stop thinking about it, stop thinking about it. "Are you dressed yet or do you need my help." Her lusterous smile is only annoying me right now and she knows it to. The reason I know she knows is as I glare at her, her smile grows. "No, I''m ready, let''s check our stuff." We walk to the main room and sit at the table across from one another and pull everything from our respective chronus rings and magic bags. We pull out; various encyclopedias, food and water, hygine products, a long sword, a short sword, five types and lengths of whip swords, twenty spears, a small hill of daggers, a large hammer, a great sword, gauntlet looking things that seem to increase power of your punches, gloves with metal over the knuckles, a few shields, a couple robes and outfits, three styles of slypnir shoes, more shoes, even more shoes... more shoes, light armor with knives and other things on it, and lastly is money. "Wow, thats alot of stuff" "Yeah, lets split it for now based on what the two of us could need." "Sure after that, I''ll store the excess in Richt." "I''ll take one set of the gloves, a few daggers, money, food, clothing, and all but three of the spears." "I''ll take one of everything... and now Richt store it!" Richt comes out of my shadow and proceeded to to jump, it was more like bounce, anyway, it jumped on the table and rolled over everything sucking it up. "Wow, where does it all go? How much can it hold?" Andria said while seeming suprised. "Probably in some sort of subspace in the slimes body. Ehh, It isn''t even a single percent full yet." "How are you able to tell?" I couldn''t quite understand myself so my answer came in a head tilt, but for some reason, she just blushed, looked away, and covered her face with her hand. It was also now that Richt finished storing everything and plopped onto my lap so I started petting her. After waiting a moment she looked back at me and spoke up after murmering something. "...Let us head out now the sun is starting to rise." "Okay, off to our adventure." I walked out from the main hall and down the hall to the glass garden and take the first step outside. ...And looking at the sunrise with Andria right beside me causes my heart to warm. 7-Random Encounter Outside can only be descibed as beautiful the sun rises causing the light to go through trees glowing a magnificent red, orange, and yellow. The morning dew ws causing it all to sparkle, I couldn''t help but gasp. "Amazing." Andria couldn''t put my thoughts into words any better. We sat and watched the sun rise, but we can''t stay like this for much longer. "Andria, I would like to watch this through, but we must start making our way." We both put our hoods up. "Yes, you''re right, Lets go." We make our way down towrad where the city was on the map the forest was suprising quiet, but we didn''t think about it. The ground was wet and muddy, for normal people it would be extremely difficult to wade your way through. But that isn''t the case for us two Andria used the cat-walk skill while I used a {Water Walking} spell. Richt stayed in my shadow while Nina stayed on the shoulder of Andria. We kept going while appraising everything untill we heard the sound of a scream and rushed over. We see a young girl in a light armor on the ground trying to crawl away from large bear having red colored fur. It stayed still for a moment before falling to the side and then Andria caught up. "What do I do here?" "I''ll handle it." "I''ll handle it" I responded and walk to the girl and grabbed her hand to get her attention as I checked her pulse. "Are you okay, are you injured?" "N...n...no." "Really? Thats good." I sighed in relief. "Are you the one who saved me?" I felt something glare at me while I still had her hand so I let it go. Not forgeting the person who was jealous. "No, I wasn''t." I pointed to Sapphire and use my eyes to call her over. "It was her." I watched Sapphire freak out for a minute before giving in and coming over. "H...hi, are you okay?" "Yes. "Isis!" ~Sapphire''s side~ It seems we''re going to go with Isis to the city. It is the first real person other then Andria I have spoken to, so I couldn''t help but feel nervous. I hope she dosen''t hate me. We walk for about twenty minutes and that is when we reach the road to take a break. 8- Event? We get to the road and decide to take a break because Isis seems tired. "I''m sorry for slowing you down!" "It''s fine, don''t push yourself." Andria said as she handed some water created by life magic that was in a cup. I pulled out a soft piece of jerky and put it in the hand of Iris. "Eat, it will let you recover stamina faster." "T...thank you!" Iris let out a bright smile as she munched on it "It is so delicious! I didn''t eat breakfast, so this is a welcome!" I nodded and backed up to stay behind Andria until the break ended. An adventurer man in his early twenties said. I pull out a great sword the same size as me and dash forward lightly using {Basic Magic Enhance} on my body and sword. Andria pulls out a short spear with a red tip and blue body and instead of dashing she used Qi enhance her body to approach and throw a punch right in a large man in full plate''s flank and blew him away. I arrive in front of the leader looking man and lightly slash down and he blocked it... or not. He just stood there surprised and was cut practically in two. Honestly, eww, next time I won''t cut them I''ll knock them out by punching or with the flat of the blade. Twenty minutes later We killed or captured all the bandits and in the process of stripping all their loot and the off to the side Isis was vomiting with Andria comforting her. "That thieving cat." I said it under my breath I don''t understand what it means but it felt right to say. I noticed all the adventurers are cowering in fear a bit away for some reason but I put if off for now. When Andria finishes she''ll get a punishment. Un, that''s right it is her fault to make me feel this way. ~Andria''s side~ It seems that Sapphire is feeling jealous. Her oppressive aura is completely causing the adventurers to tremble in their boots while the bandits are already fainting. I''m a bit scared of the smile and her nodding to herself. I had a fleeting feeling of dread but that is not for right now. When I move from Isis'' side to hers the amount of intimidation completely disappeared and the adventurers made their way over and Sapphire hid behind me. Even though there is quite the pile of loot it seems that there were 50 people in total in this group. it is honestly on the smaller side around this area. We have to decide how to split it up for now. The leader looking man from ealier is not the one who rushed over. "Thank you, My Lady, for saving us in our time of crisis. It was this half-elf apparently, the early 20''s leaderly looking man isn''t the party head. This 16 year old half elf is. He doesn''t look strong but his stickly limbs have some power to them he probably has a gift of some sort. His armor and weapon is pretty good for a commoner but not good enough for a noble, and with his speech earlier he probably is a son of a fallen noble or is an illegitimate child. The males tend to be aggressive while the females are docile and they have dexterous fingers. They sell high as slaves due to their history of making excellent silver works. Kobold started off as a monster race similar to orc and goblin however over time a new superior more intelligent kind known as high-kobold who mixed in with society creating their own villages and integrating thanks to merchants. High-orcs aren''t similar to their lower counter part due to high-orcs evolution they had done what orc couldn''t do, have females. High-orcs are like 8ft humans with small tusks and covered in muscles and they are now proud warriors. Goblins had females originally but taking a wife that wasn''t a goblin let that child have talent similar to the mother advancing the species. eventually high goblins appeared and now are considered proud mages. There are many cases similar to these lamia, and Arachne are good example. There are people and countries which are still hateful against tribes originating from monsters and beasts but the Millea Kingdom is not like that. We raid their bases take the gold the go with the merchants as a guard at the rear guard with Isis. After about an hour, I got used to talking to Isis a bit. I learned a bit about the cities overall structure. Apparently, this city is called Falter city of the Millea Kingdom, it is one of the main trading cities in the Millea Kingdom due to its location and the four forests adjacent to it making it have tons of herbs and monsters. It also has a one hundred floor dungeon and a deal with its dungeon master, it is like the second capital of the Millea Kingdom. It is ruled by Duke Philler Millea the older brother of the current king. It has a population of over 60 thousand in the main city and in his whole territory a little over 250 thousand with the whole kingdom over a million. He gave up his right to the throne after falling in love with his current wife and retiring from seventy years as a general. If he was a human he would have grown old but he is a half dragon elf who''ll live for millennia easy with a shot for immortality and his wife is a high elf with no definite life span. Talking about his wife, her name is Tallia Millea and was an adventurer who took a request from the military during a war and during the battle was saved by Philler. This was the first time they met and where their story started. After the battle, he had her taken to his tent and requested a long term request as his personal guard as he wasn''t able to be honest with his feelings right away. Over time the two of them became closer and closer where at some point King Millea told them to just get married and forced Philler to retire. Now the two of them are famous because they flirt while shopping and as great rulers. At the moment there are no children but there is a rumor from the maids that work there that you can hear them in the servant area at night. The King and Duke actually have a really good relationship and don''t talk how nobles normally would as the King still calls the Duke aniki. The King is a high elf a little over 60 years old and was taught magic by Mother apparently. The current King has only been king for 15 years after the previous king retired to an island he bought from his wealth from when he was an adventurer almost a thousand years prior. Andria and I continue to listen to history and gossip until we reach the city. At the gate. "Hello, I need to do a quick check for your carriages. Please wait patiently." Twenty minutes later "I''ll check your IDs" "Sorry the two of us don''t have IDs," Andria spoke up to get the attention of the knight. We meet up with Isis and head into the city after getting the bounties from the guards. 10- Meeting grandma and making medicine "We are done here, lets go to your grandmothers." "Yes, thank you." "Sorry, You said one of you could make her medicine if you had the material, right?" I was the one to speak up this time because I was the one with the necessary skills for the task. Although I didn''t gain the skills my self and instead were implanted from the start. I still puffed my chest out proudly. "Yes, depending on the medicine and the materials." She pulled out dried flare mushrooms and poisoned ash grass and some holy water. All the materials are uncommon but nothing crazy. It would probably cost a silver coin. These materials alone can make many magic medicines Potions aren''t the only type of magic medicines. Potions are a type of fast acting magic medicine that can be applied to the wound or ingested to heal wounds or enhance combat abilities. Magic medicine is only a branch of alchemy and has many categories including potion making, pharmacology, epidemiology, etc. "Here they are." "What illness does your Grandma have?" "It is multiple burns on her magic circuit in varying intensity according to the doctor. My grandma was purifying an undead horde for the church because a request. Until she was caught in a trap and transitioned with a sub-boss lesser lich with a bunch of ghosts fighting by herself until her party recovered her and they could retreat. Grandma''s party was also injured so they can''t help her at the moment, so we are left on our own." "I see." One''s mana circuit is a semi-physical pathway that is overlaid with our circulatory system allowing our body to adapt and use the mana in our atmosphere. It allows us to use our mana to alter the physical world and is extremely important for one''s life even if you aren''t a mage. If you use magic it lightly damages it but only enough for it to heal over night and become thicker allowing it to have more mana under your control, just like working out muscles. However if it takes major damage it can be life threatening. For example if you take an attack from a undead spirit-type monster, like a Broad Ghost, it would deal damage to your psyche and if left alone it would eat away at and burn your mana circuits. I take the material to a side room shown to by Isis that was used for medicine making and pull some advanced tools from Richt to put out onto the desks. The ones I pull out are only a burner, pot, boiler and a few bottles because I can do most of the sequence with magic alone. To heal a magic circuit you have to make a magic medicine that is ingested that stimulates the regeneration of undamaged sections while dissolving the damaged scab. I use the life magic {Dry} to dry the materials, and use the boiler to boil the ingredients into a soup while filling it with my magical energy of the light attribute. While waiting I go through the information of the magical medicine I''m making. I''m making a magical medicine called Frost''s Brew, it uses the effect of holy water that changes the dangerous toxins into a healing antidote when filled with light attribute mana. Flare mushrooms causing a burst of flame if collected wrong when boiled in activated holy water it will dissolve the damaged layer of mana circuits. While poison ash grass the ash looking seeds will stain and stick to anything and poison anything that ingests it, but if heated to a certain temperature it instead will speed the healing of the mana circuit of those who consume it. After waiting for it to boil away all the water that isn''t full of the seeds and liquid from the mushrooms. I take it and use the spells {separation} and {condense}. I put the remaining milky blue liquid into the warm bottle into the pot that is submerged in magic water on to the burner. I then brought it back to room temperature and cast the spells {Complete Freeze} wait a second... and {Boil} a few times to rapidly change the temperature to finish the magic medicine. While I wondered what to do with the waste so I looked around until I fed the waste to Richt. He seemed happy with the taste though. So I had him store everything again. I wait for it to return to room temperature... and done! With this it is finished, it looks like a red and dark blue colored lava lamp but it will fix the damage to the magic circuit up to a certain point. It will also let mana recover faster and the circuit will recover faster so it will also help with magic training. Let us take this to Isis... or not? It seems to be the middle of the night. I''ll go to bed on the living room couch for now. Luckily Frost''s Brew doesn''t need any storage procedures. I go out to the living room and see Andria sleeping across from Isis, so I take my rightful pace with my head on her thigh while taking the whole couch. It is just the way things belong...Yup. After putting a blanket on the both of them I snuggle up to Andria while having Richt in my embrace and fall gracefully into a deep sleep. 11-Morning and Introductions ~Andia side~ I talked to Isis and gained some information about the town until we fell asleep waiting for Sapphire. I wake with a weight on my legs and a blanket over my shoulders I definitely didn''t have yesterday. For now, I''ll let her sleep she did stay awake late to make a difficult magic medicine. She''s really cute sleeping like this. I start lovingly petting her head. Lately there has been a rumor about people going missing in the food court area of the shopping district and a lot of people with red hoods in the city. Isis thinks that they are connected but isn''t so sure. According to her weird people show up in this city often, so this isn''t out of the norm. I''m starting to think I need to go to an Information dealer and hear about what could be dangerous in this city for both of our sake. After healing Isis'' grandma I''ll have us go and sign up for the guild and turn down all the clan invitations. The guild is a central unit now but at one point it used to be separated in the mages guild, warriors guild, and tons of others. Now that it is a central unit you only have to sign up once and more details are added depending on contributions.. For example; if you hunt monsters you''ll gain a warriors mark but if you make a potion you will gain an alchemists mark. It is rare but some stores have permission to have the guild mark be put out and that meant that they are backed by the guild and give a discount for their members and will have (comparatively) high quality gear cheaper than most. Oh, It looks like sapphire is getting up now. ~Sapphires side~ I wake up after noticing that I was being petted by Andria. Her hand is soft and warm. "You awake?" Andria asked in a more rhetorical tone then an inquisitive one. "Yes." I roll over to look at Isis and start to sit up. "I''ll cook breakfast you wake up Isis and her grandma." I go to the kitchen and check the appliances and see it is about the same as a fallen noble. She has a magic fridge, stove, freezer, pressure cooker. I check the fridge and find a few lesser rock bird eggs and veggies. I check the freezer and find orc. With this I can make omelets. First I dice the orc meat into cubes and take the veggies with the cubes into a pan. I then take the eggs put them into a bowl and whisk them. I mix everything once to keep them from burning and then add the eggs. After a minute I flip them to finish the first omelet. I repeat this process three more times and put the completed product onto plates. "Breakfast is finished!" I set the table and then take plates and place them in front of all the seats. When everyone comes in I hand the potion to Isis'' grandma who is seeming to be having trouble speaking at the moment. She drinks it. It won''t heal right away but it will heal over the next few hours. ~Andria''s side~ I woke up Isis and had her help me to take her grandma to the table. We also watch her drink the magic medicine made by Sapphire. We sit down and start eating and we learn quickly that Sapphire... can''t cook. It is a disastor. I''m sure that she followed the recipe perfectly. I look at the other two people who were sacrificed with me. I watched the life leave their eyes when they see Sapphire looking at us waiting for our opinion. "I...it is D...deli...cious." Isis look at me the same as she would look at a death sentence. Instead of looking at them I quickly shovel my food into my mouth to get it over with. They seem to get what I''m trying to do and follow my example stuffing themselves. After we were done we watched Sapphire eating. It was amazing, she ate it completely normally. Seriously does she have taste buds. This food was close to instant death poison. I know she inherited this from Creator-sama. I heard stories from Creator-sama''s friends and students that she was more dangerous in the kitchen then in battle. We always had dinner made by the maids so I never got to experience it. ...But now I understand. The three of us made a tacit agreement to never let her in the kitchen again. Twenty minutes later We have all calmed down I decided to speak with Isis and her grandma while Sapphire cleaned up after breakfast. "How Did you end up like this...?" I ask Isis to guide us and pick up Sapphire to head towards the Guild. 12-The Guild ~Sapphire''s side~ We left early after Isis returned from putting Jeane into her to bed to rest. I wonder why she was looking iller after eating? We are walking down one of this district''s main streets. It is really clean and has stalls with various types of skewers. There are some that use orc meat from the dungeon, which I immediately drag my companions over to buy some. Isis doesn''t look hungry so I''ll grab one for Andria and me. "Two servings please!" "Ten coppers." "Here." I give him the coppers. "Your order." He handed me my order and I handed one to Andria. We munch as we head to the adventurer guild. 15 minutes later We make to in front of the Guild and It is a beautiful wooden building with a couple of entrances with signs above them. We go to the main hall that deals with registration and testing, at least according to Isis. We walk up to the lady who is standing at the station that has the ''registration'' sign above it. Said lady is looking at a book ignoring the noisy guild. "Hello, we''d like to register." "Got it." She pulls out an orb. "One of you put your hand here." I decided to go first. She isn''t even looking at us while we do it. It''s kind of amazing "Name?" "Sapphire." "Mage, warrior, scout, etc.?" "Magic warrior." "Race?" "Pseudo life form, Golem." "Rare, golems have gone out of fashion for a while now. Anyway, finished. I''ll do the next person then would you like the Guilds explanation?" "Yes." Andria switches with me. "Name?" "Andria." "Mage, warrior, scout, etc.?" "Magic scout." "Race?" "Artificial alchemic life form, Homunculus." "And done. Here are your Guild cards, you are F rank. I''ll start the explanation: The guild is an organization that doesn''t belong to any country and was made to handle the threat of monsters and to handle requests of the people who can''t do them themselves. There are multiple ranks that you can work your way up allowing you to take more difficult, and more importantly, more profitable requests. The ranks go from G,F,E,D,C,B,A,S,SS,SSS, and Ex. G rank is for those under the age of ten. Professional adventurers start at D rank. Top class is B-A rank and S class and above aren''t considered mortals anymore. The biggest rules you need to remember for the guild are; 1: The guild will not intervene in fights between guild members. 2: You are not allowed to kill another member of the guild. 3: If you commit a crime and there is proof the guild will not protect you. 4: You can not be ordered by anyone but the guild unless you wish to. If someone tries the guild will protect you and assist in any way possible. Here are some tips. You can go to guild-related stores and get a discount. You can rent out Magic bags for a fee so you can carry out more requests faster. And that''s it. Here are your pamphlets, please look it over on your own time." Amazing. We then make our way over to the dismantling center. When we get there we see the dismantling center which is just a long building with a ton of doors. There are signs above the doors indicating the size and colors on the door indicating if it is in use. We enter one that will fit the red bear and see a guild employee, show our cards, and put out the red bear that I haven''t dismantled yet. The employee looks to be an older beastman gentleman wearing a butchers outfit. We pay the dismantling fee and leave it to the professional. "It''s quite da kill. After that, he cut the meat from the bone and pulled the fangs. He finished the dismantling pretty quickly after removing the organs. Andria seemed a bit confused with why I took what I did. She''ll find out soon enough. We then head to the rank up area following Behind Isis as she leads us. When we get there we see a training center that is the size of a colosseum. ~WORLD INFO~ This world has a no waste policy. Since being out side a city in most cases is extremely dangerous due to the threat of monsters. Bones will be used in making weapons or being ground into fertilizer. Organs will be cleaned then eaten or if it is poisonous it will be purified then turned into compost. Everything eatable will be eaten. The furs will be treated into leather to make armor or leather products or be sold to nobles to show off their wealth. The guild exists to make sure no one is screwed in a deal. It keeps nobles from not paying and keeps adventurers from getting in over their head and wasting everyones time. That is why monsters and adventurers have a rank to give a rough estimation of their strength. So here is a break down of how many adventures are in in which ranks. G-E: 50% D-C: 35% B-A: 14.45% S-SSS: .5% EX: .05% (Side note: red bears are weakest D class monsters) 13-Guild rank up to E ~Andria''s side~ Sapphire and I made it to the training center. Once we got there I see the person who is in charge of our exams and a line of people waiting for the exam. We line up at the end of the line. "Next set!" A group of ten goes in and we reach 2 from the front of the line. Isis started explaining what the rank exam is. It is really basic. It is a battle with a C rank adventurer and the examiner decides if you pass or not. We won''t have any issues according to Isis. "Next set!" We walk in and the arena is a mess except for a circle where the examiner is. He is an older human looking man wearing a light set of armor made of Wyburn skin. "Let''s start, I''m not the normal examiner I''m a retired A rank adventurer. Names David. I just finished the B rank test so I''ll give you the same test. You''ll attack me and if I''m impressed you''ll pass." I volunteered to go first I pull out a Naginata and a dagger to dual wield them. I take a stance to give me the most possible power in a single blow. I lower my body and cast {Body Enhancement}{Polar Enhancement} and {Boost}. "Start!" I dash forward. I can tell that trying to trick him and control where his attention is or trying to find an opening. So I go straight forward and I send out a simple trust at the same time using half of my mana to strengthen my body. I also condense all the mana that leaves my body into a point in front of my spear to eliminate all the waste. My spear hits the barrier he put out. The ground explodes the wind blows away everything. I jump back preparing to see the result of my attack while making sure not to have an opening. "HAHA Impressive, You pass." After the dust settles I see an old man standing there with a huge smile on his face without a single wound. I could have pierced most sub-dragons and killed them in that single attack. He still is untouched he doesn''t even have dust on him. Did he use a barrier? But I didn''t feel mana from the casting of a spell. so this is the gap that I and Sapphire need to close. I leave the area and sit to watch Sapphire''s test. ~Sapphire''s side~ Andria''s fight was a beautiful show of power inside a single strike I''ll reward her later. I walk up to the examiner and pull out a Warhammer twice my own size. "Start!" I cast {Polar Enhancement}{Weight Up-Activation Type}{Boost-X5}{Physics Enhancement} and dash right into his face and swing right down onto his barrier. Activating {Weight Up-Activation Type} increasing the power of the blow by a 50x total. instead of making a huge explosion a high pitch squeal comes from the mysterious barrier. Then I''m blown backwards so I store my hammer and do a flip to kill my momentum. While dust and stones are throne from where I was. After The dust cleared I see an unharmed old man cover head to toe in the dust with a huge smile. The barrier has a small hole in it. I decided to say the first thing that came to my head "Yuri Love A+S" ...Why is Andria face palming? "I''m not going to respond to that. You now what, our party name will be ''Floating Roses''." Andria said while blushing and throwing playful punches. We get our updated status cards back and meet with Isis and Andria asked her. "So, It''s still early so would you like to take a request?" Seeming a bit surprised she had a bit trouble responding but she managed. "Yes please! Could we take a subjugation and some permanent requests." "Yes pick out the requests so we can do them. Prioritize fastest possible completion rate." "Alright, let me see..." She picked all subjugation requests. She picked wolf, goblin, kobold, and orc requests. Isis sounded a bit excited when she told us. "Well, lets go!" We leave the Guild and head off to do our full request. 14- The Eastern Forest ~Andria''s side~ We leave the city after we return our temporary passes. We then follow the road for twenty minutes to go to the eastern forest. The eastern forest is the safest monster forest by the city because it doesn''t have a monster over D rank. Monsters are naturally attracted to places with mana in the atmosphere. The more there is the more and the stronger the monsters are in that area. I go ahead to track the footprints until we find some goblins. "Isis you have the lowest combat potential we could give you tips so you could improve." While I was training with Creator-sama I met other people training under her at the time so I have a pretty good Idea how to teach. Creator-sama at first wasn''t sure at the start how smart her successor would be so I learned how to teach as a backup. It wasn''t necessary but now it will be useful. "I got it I''ll go first." Isis goes around to behind and pulls a bow and quiver from a magic pouch on her armor She draws back her bow and attaches a string of mana to her arrow. She fires 4 arrows one after the other and kills the goblins. Afterward, she collected her arrows and the magic stones of the goblins. Honestly, they didn''t have all that much power and they weren''t well aimed but with a bit of practice, she could improve quickly. "Good work. It''s good for an amateur. Your accuracy could do some work. To help you with that when you draw the bow do it all at once as you raise it. Also with the hand holding the bow hold a few arrows and stick out your first finger. For now, I teach you pure bow work so you won''t use any mana strings to help accuracy" I walk behind her. "Let me help you by letting you experiencing it." I wrap my arms around her grabbing her hands to guide her movement. She starts blushing and fidgeting. "Here." I have her start by putting her bow lose at the waist. Then I lead her through drawing and raising it simultaneously and having it release as soon as it is lined up with the target. Then she follows my lead and takes the next arrow draws and fires. I help her practice for twenty minutes and then have her do it own for thirty more. While letting her practice on her own I go back to Sapphire who I completely forgot about. I look at her and she is sitting on a stump of a tree. You could see that she is fuming and a dark aura is radiating from her scaring all the bugs and small animals away. If the trees could run they definitely would. It''s really scary and intimidating. "W...what''s wrong?" I couldn''t help but have trouble enunciating with the pressure being released in my direction. "Nothing." She eyed me telling me to sit beside her... I couldn''t disobey. I sit down beside her and she scoots right into my side. "Oww!" And she stabs me with her elbow right into my kidney. "What is it?" Why is she angry? All I did was teach Isis the bow. ... ... ... Ah, I forgot that Sapphire is a really easily jealous type. I wrapped my arms around Isis then forgot about her. To attempt to appease her I put my arms around her and squeeze her into my bosom, in a huge hug. "I''m sorry. Okay, can you stop jabbing me with your elbow." "Hmpf¡­ forgiven if you stay like this for a bit longer." It seemed to have worked for now in repairing her mood. I sit like this until Isis returns. I''ll be more careful not to get caught on the jagged edge on this gem next time. Isis walk back over covered in sweat and looking a bit tired. She probably focused quite a bit understanding and getting used to the change in technique. Now that I think about it, what does her appraisal look like? I''ll ask Sapphire later. I give some water and jerky to Isis so she can recover and Sapphire casts {Clean} to fix her appearance. After that, we head out and Sapphire secretly casts {Plant Appraisal} on all the vegetation collecting herbs and other foliage. My job is to find and track the monsters we want and not some other monster instead, so I leave Sapphire to her own devices. We run into a pack wolves that are monsters and Sapphire casts {Monster Appraisal} and makes note of the result to show me later. Normal wolves aren''t but here in this forest the amount of mana is poison to normal wolves so all the ones in here are monsters. They, however, are close enough to normal wolves they aren''t given a separate request in the area. The only difference is that they have a magic stone and can evolve into a higher species, but they will move to a different forest at that point so they can be somewhere with thicker mana. So we won''t have to worry about running into a higher species. "Isis might as well have some combat experience with your new technique. Also instead of just attaching the string of mana to help with aim while you''re not good at mana control yet. You could just focus some on the tip of the arrow and learn mana control faster." The string of mana attached to the back of the arrow is a simple art that goes by many names, but I was taught it was called [Arrow Guidance Art] it is an intermediate technique used by all top class archers. It requires fine mana control but just because it is difficult doesn''t make it efficient training. If you don''t learn the basics first your skill set will end up skewed in a weird direction. Instead of letting Isis fall into that trap I''m having her use the most basic art I call [Increase Arrow Power Art]. It is a basic pretty self-explanatory art. It is an art so common even hunters learn it to make hunting easier. Even at the minimum output, it will let you ignore the leaves and twigs that are in the way of your shot. But if you can get it to a high enough output it can make dragon scales feel like paper. So let us see how much she has improved with a few tips. 15- forest adventure (part one) ~Isis side~ I pull out my bow from my magic pouch. There are 10 wolves in front of me and they haven''t noticed me yet. I draw and release an arrow that I have focused mana on the tip of into the closest wolf and hit it in the head. I shoot another two while they were panicking. They determine my location and start rushing over I half kill three. I start backing up and putting a bit more of my mana on the tip of my arrows. I aim care fully and take out another. the last one is to close to shoot with my bow so I throw a poison dagger from my theigh at it instead. It hit it''s leg but it still jumped at me so I avoided by rolling. While rolling I threw another knife and this time it hit its throat. The drawing of my bow is already a noticeably smoother action then from when I shot my first wolf. I understand why Andria had me do this. I walked up to Andria and Sapphire went to start dismantling. "You did great. With more practice you could shoot them all before they get close." "Y...yes. I don''t know why she couldn''t, well I''d still like to do a few. ~Sapphire''s side~ I walk back to Andria and Isis after dismantaling the wolves. Andria speaks up when I was walking beside her. "You can find the next group and hunt them." I''m a bit confused but I accept anyway. I cast {Life Search} and cover a 1km radius. There are a lot wolf reactions but I''m going to go for orcs. They are the strongest E rank monsters brecause their attack power is in line with D rank monsters but their attacks are slow and predictable. They have low inteligence but they tend to work in a group. The most efective way of killing them is stealth. The thing about orcs is that... they taste out of rank. In most cases a higher rank monster will taste better. But orcs don''t follow that, a E rank orc tastes as good as a C rank monster. Most monsters that taste out of rank are rare, but the orc isn''t. The orcs are pretty close so I give directions to Andria and start making my way over. A couple of minutes later. I see two orcs standing and three sitting. There is no reason for me to to take them out with stealth. I boldly walk out and pull out my weapon of choice. Is it going to be a: sword? brass knuckles? hammer? maybe a spear? nope. It is a Pile Driver! I pull out a pile driver that locks on my arm. It is made mostly of a rare magic metal; Flash Gold. Flash Gold is a metal that saves and stores energy and releases it from a single point when mana is injected. the reason it is called Flash Gold is when activated it releases a flash of light. I run at the closest one jump and smash its skull in. I pull my fist from the cavity I made and swing the pile driver into one of the ones sitting down. They get startled and start clamoring and the standing one runs and swings at me. I use my pile driver to block its branch and it starts to glow. I then get in close while it was suprised and punched it in the face with a big and heavy chunk of gold. The other two have gotten up up and get ready to attack. I''m not going to let them. I dash in and upper cut one of the orcs causing it to blow backwards and flip over itself. I''m down to one orc now. It dosen''t feel any fear even though I killed all its compainions. It is a thing of it own pride. ''After all how could I lose, I''m better then they are'' is what it is thinking. Well, dosen''t matter to me, it won''t change the result. I slowly walk toward it and it lifts it''s arm. I punch it in it''s face knocking it down. I collect the bodies and cast {Life Search} again and head to the next group after the next group until I complete the orc subugation request. Then I help locate wolves for Isis'' practice and it becomes noon. [end of part one] ~World Info~ Gods are in a heirarchy. The world god is at the top and after him is the gods how embody an element like for example; fire or water. After them are gods of concept like gods of war, law, or madness with their strength changing depending on the amount of worshipers that god it self has. then below them are the local gods. Spirit trees are local god who have a phisical form. They are an old tree that gained a spirit. They have the ability to grant a blessing or an artifact far easier then the higher gods but it won''t have much power. And the lowest and weakest gods are sud-deities like demi-gods, kupua, etc. They are more then human but they are still ''mortals''. Some have immortally or eternal youth but they can be killed and still die. Gods can''t die, they can lose their phisical body but with time they can regain it. Spirit tree''s when they ''die'' the lose their phisical form they spread thousands of seeds and reincarnates into a new deity never truly dying. There are execptions to this hirearchy for example; the god of lies and trickery Heopetath, the demi-god pleadedaids, or the world tree. Gods aren''t the only things with this level of strength Dragons, Devils, and Spirits are a similar type of existance. They will get their own paragraph in their own chapter. 16-forest adventure (end) ~Andria''s side~ The sun is in the center of the sky so we stopped to eat lunch. I learned from this morning and confiscated the cooking materials and tools. I just cooked simple burrito with a side of stir fried rice. "Delicious!" "Delicious! It''s not poison!" "Thanks. We don''t know what is in there, but we don''t want to get trapped by something. "Let examine the edge of the radius of the anomaly and report it." We go to the anomaly and it looks like a dread forest but I can tell just by looking all the life has been taken. It is like it was drained by a {Drain Life Force} spell. It smells like rotting flesh. There''s no mushrooms on these trees either. Squrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!! "What was that?" "Let''s not find out." We turn around and start to return to the city but we run into a pack of kobolds. Sapphire killed them with a single well aimed {Ice Barret}. She had Richt collect the bodies and we kept running. A couple of minutes later we made it to the road. "What do you think that was?" Isis asked. Sapphire was the one to respond with. "It was probably a high rank undead." Undead are uncommon so you won''t find one most days, but you will likely see one once every few months if you travel. Undead are a huge problem though, because there is no way to kill them for most people. You can slash, beat hit them with most types of magic and with a bit of time they will fix themselves. It is this reason that most country ask you to have one person report it and have one person watch it. Every town has a group dedicated to dealing with undead, either purifying or sealing it to call in back up. Most of the time undead have a territory they stay in especially as they get stronger. Undead have ranks but they aren''t the same as the guilds ranking system. It goes; red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, magenta, grey, black. your basic walking skeleton is red and a greater draconian lich is black everything else is somewhere in between. Where also is a white rank but only undead who are able to mix with humans can be in this rank. In the capital a white rank undead teaches at the royal magic institute. He is a lich whose strength is equal to a black rank undead or an EX rank monster. His name is Grimm. "Let''s make a report to the guild A.S.A.P." We ran to town made a report as we entered town. After that we ran to the Guild and enter the information center. "We have a report to make on a undead!" I spoke a bit more loudly to get the receptionists attention. I walk up to one of the stations and explained what happened and our evidence for our claims. Which was some of the bark from the trees. "Alright. Thank you for your report we''ll spread the information to minimize the damage." We leave then go to another counter for completing requests in the building beside this one. It has the ''Request Turn In'' over it. "We''d like to turn in these request." I hand over all the requests and our guild cards. "Alright, completed. Here is your payment." The receptionists handing our money and cards over as she spoke. "You two can stay at my house again tonight if you''d like." I said as we were leaving the guild wondering what to do next. I look at sapphire and she nods so we decide to go with her. 17-Another Morning The next day ~Sapphires'' side~ I wake up in the guest room of Isis'' house beside of Andria. She is adorable. She has a relaxed expression with a tiny bit of drool coming out. Andria is laying there all defenseless. I can do some mischief, right? She smells great. Normally we would cast {Clean} on our selves so we wouldn''t smell, but you can''t cast spells while sleeping. So her natural scent came through. I crawl over so I don''t wake her up. It was so perfect that mushrooms couldn''t grow from the rot. from the squeal, it seemed like a high-rank undead so we reported it to the city. Honestly, it gave me the creeps." There seems to be a large amount of undead appearing lately. It shouldn''t be an undead king because it hasn''t been a hundred years since we killed the last one. Maybe we should call over Grimm? "That''s fine for now we hope we can contain and purify it before it becomes a problem." Undead are a real nuisance but we should have plenty of options in this city. This place is called the second capital of the Millea kingdom. We have the same population in this city as some medium-sized countries. We have many preparations for this. Looking at how excited she is anyway, makes it impossible to refuse her. A couple of minutes later and we are on our way to the slums. Isis seems a bit worried. I understand she is the one experiencing the most risk. I feel kinda bad for her. We are standing out like a sore thumb. While most people here are wearing old worn out clothes, we are wearing literally the best clothes possible. Some of them are looking at us with greed in their eyes. There is a boatload of dark guilds taking advantage of the slum dwellers. A dark guild is an organization that accepts requests that are less than legal. The most common is intimidation requests from merchants. This is normally to threaten and eliminate competition. They''ll pay after you do the work if you get caught and arrested you get nothing. There is also the occasional assassination request from nobles to eliminate people they deem dangerous. Dark guilds often participate in illegal slavery and human trafficking "Is this the location?" Sapphire asked while seeming confused looking at the directions given to us by the guild. "Yes" Isis responded to her. We walk into the store and it is a mess. "Hello!...He-y!...Anyone here!?" "I''m here! I''m here! I''m coming, shut up already!" An old messy dwarf old man comes from the back while rubbing his head. He looks like a common drunk you''d find everywhere. "We came for the request you posted to the guild." The request was a simple cleaning of potion bottles and preparation of materials. But seriously this store is a mess. The shelves aren''t lined up neatly. There is no organization of the potion they are lined up where ever there was room. The thing is they are all high quality, yet they aren''t being bought. Sapphire looking at this seems a bit upset. "Yeah, let''s head to the back. All you have to do is clean bottles, and set leaves out to dry." We follow him into the back and it is a disaster. everything is everywhere. Sapphire is looking blankly until all of a sudden she blew up. "What are you doing! You have all this excellent produce yet none of it has been bought! Your store is a disaster and a mess!" She cast 20 different instances of {Telekinesis} and started moving everything in the store. She lifted all the tools and fragile glass bottles to move them out of the way. She moves all the shelves from the front of the store against the walls and casts {Clean} on them. She then takes and color codes the potions. Each type of potion gets own shelf with the strength growing as it ascends the shelf. She walks into the back fuming. The store owner seemed to afraid to do anything to stop her. He is also snapped out of his hangover. Sapphire lift all the herb stores and moves them with the tools. She then collects all the trash and expired medicines and casts {Incineration} to burn it all while casting {Clean} on the bottles. She placed the herb stores on one side of the room and the tools on the other. She orders all the bottles beside the sink. Then she removes all the herbs, organizes them and places them all on different shelves in the stores. Then before being led, she goes into the drying room. She sees the drying racks, dismantles them while casting {Mist Wash}. Then she determines which herbs get trashed and which ones need more time and how much they need. She reassembles the racks in an orderly fashion and lays the herbs based on how long they have left till they need to be collected. "Hey! What are you doing t-Eee" The dwarven man started shouting at Sapphire but shut up pretty quickly when she glared at him. I sympathize but right now there is no stopping her. "Should I check the storage?" "N-no." He shrunk back crushed by an invisible pressure. "I see so I should clean that to then." She heads through the back door and down the stairs to the basement. It seems to be cooling area to maximize how long herbs and catalysts can be stored. ...And I thought upstairs was bad everything was just thrown in here. The boxes are stacked on one another and some of it is rotting. There are bugs down here. Sapphire casts {Detection} and {Organize} to figure out what is still good and not rotted. She lifts it up and casts {Flame Carpet} to burn the bugs and nasty and rotting herbs and catalysts. She then casts {Clean} on what''s left and the building itself. "Why are there no shelves down here?" "I-I forgot about it, t-then there was n-no r-room when I noticed." "Oh really? Then I''ll make some." She picked out a couple of bone type catalysts and casts {Morph} and {Fusion} to make 2 shelves on each wall and activates them with mana. Then she opens all the boxes, sorts between catalysts and herbs and places catalysts on one side and herbs on the other. "Now go through and do inventory. I''ll tell you now I didn''t find a single piece of paperwork while I fixed this mess." "Y-yes, sir." Twenty minutes later he returns and reports the inventory and calms down after Sapphire seemed satisfied. He also seemed to have cleaned himself up before returning. "Please sign the request completion report and put the necessary guild bonus points for the cleaning." He obeyed and we left to go home with me and Isis doing nothing but pitying an old man. "Oh wait! We never introduced our selves." It seemed Sapphire remembered something important a bit late. 19- Lawn Mowing ~Andria''s side~ We head home anyway and meet up with Jeane along the way. We talked about what Sapphire did and what Jeane found out during her search. It turns out that they managed to seal the undead but they need someone to go and purify it. We get to her house to eat dinner go to bed. The next day we take a lawn mowing request and get paid for yesterdays request plus the bonus. We head over to the mowing request. We go into the noble district into a small house with only a single guard. It looks a little worn down but still is well taken care of. "Hello, we came to complete the request lawn mowing from the guild. Here are our guild cards." "I''ve checked please come in, the maid will guide you." There is less than the bare minimum normally present. You would normally have statues, works of arts and magic tools but this place doesn''t have any of those. It also seems that there aren''t very many employees. We haven''t run into another maid and we are almost at the lord''s room. It is still extremely clean and the building has no damage that would come with a building with some age. We make it to a simple yet elegant door and the made knocks. Knock knock "You may enter." "Yes, master." We walk in and see a clean and proper man a little over thirty sitting in a leather chair seeming extremely tired. "Hello, I''m baron Bagdue. The request is quite simple. All you have to do is mow the lawn and the same for the garden since it has overgrown for a bonus." We accept and split up with Sapphire dealing with the front lawn and I go to the ''garden''. It is seriously over-grown the ibil weeds have covered all the walls. Let see, I''ll use {Shadow Manipulation} to create a blade connected to a tentacle and slice the Ibil weed...or not. It is too hard to be cut with this it seems. I pull out a dagger and all of a sudden the ground starts shaking. Three thick stems come out of the ground. Shit, how do you leave it here like this and let monsterfication happen? Ibil weeds are weeds because they bite people but they are also magical plants so they help the plants around them to grow faster. If you plant them and raise them on magic power it is possible to tame them as long as you don''t leave them to grow out of control. If you do let it go out of control it has a high chance of monsterfication. Monsterfication is the phenomena when non-monsters turn into monsters, simple. When mana is absorbed if it goes over that creatures limit it goes through monsterfication. It will cause it to become stronger and overall more aggressive. Normally Ibil weed would be removed before monsterfication or would be tamed when it happened and be a tamed monster. It is a crime not to report it though, and then you have to put a demonic neckless on it. Well, I don''t have a choice, let''s kill it. I dash forward while doging wood magic and tentacles fron the vines. I reach the main stem cover my body and weapon in a layer of mana and slice into the stalck but failed to cut through it. I jumped back to retreat and started avoiding the increased flurry of earth magic that was added on top of all the previous attacks. After two minutes an opening apeared and I took the chance and cast the {Light Speed} enhancement and finish cutting through the main stalk. The ground started shaking and the corpse of the Monsterfied Ibil weed started glowing and compressing into... ~World Info~ There are a few types of political structures the main one is the monarchy. The largest country is an empire with an emperor and even the Millea kingdom with the king. The noble ranks go in the Millea kingdom: The King The Prince- Canidit for next king Pro-Kings- Child of the king but not a canidit for the next king, tends to become a minister. Grand Duke-The person who can act in place for the king in case of emergancy. It can not be passed down. Duke-Has the blood of the royal family running in them and is a back up royal family. Marquis-The highest noble rank without any royal blood. Count Earl- Ministers are treated as this rank even if the aren''t nobles. Viscount Baron- Lowest land owning noble. Chevilier- Higher than knight but can be passed down, normally called knight families. Knights- A noble right given to those who are serving other nobles. 20- A Seed and a Little Girl ~Andria''s side~ A huge seed. It is the size of a watermelon and is pulsing. The ones in here primarily look like large eyes connected by a large grotesque tentacle to a thick body with no other appendages. They have a pseudo-soul allowing them to be sacrificed to devils for a contract. They, for some reason, aren''t counted as living beings so they an be store in magic bags and Chronos rings. According to the history book that was left behind for me 500 years ago a mage used 1,000,000 of these to summon and contract a devil who leads a force of 10,000 lesser devils. He used this army to conquer the surrounding countries becoming the king of the nation called Retaillier. Cursed items are similar to enchanted or blessed items. An enchant allows a passive effect on a weapon; they can also have more then one. Blessed items are similar but only have a single random effect that is more powerful then an equivalent enchantment. Cursed Items have even more powerful effects but come with a powerful down side. Some will have effects that will kill the user in some gruesome means after an arbitrary time limit, others will cause the user to go into an unstoppable rage. The most famous is a katana that''s blade becomes sharper with the blood it consumes and strengthens the users body but it eats away at the sanity of the wielder. The next is the Golden Slime kingdom. The last slot changes reguarally ,about once every thirty years, but at the moment is held by the Horizon Shield Republic. At the moment all the countries in the seven powers have a peace treaty. The strength of the kingdoms is determined annually by a tornament in Kimin City arena. The ranking is detemined in a normal tornament style with a solo, a duo, trio, and team battle. Each country nominates a team and sends them for the tornament. During the time of the tournament It is impossible to attack another country due to the gods decree. It isn''t uncommon for gods to place bets and assist their favorite teams by giving temporary blessings. They are all equiped with heavy armor that can ignore attacks coming from Poor Drafts (a sub-dragon closer to a scaly bird then a dragon). It is made of a type of magic steel highly resistant to physical shocks and magic. They come with many weapons ranging from full auto stake launchers that easily pierce weak armor to hammers the same weight of carriages that come paired with a sheild that can stop a charge of a sprint dragon(a large and fast sub-dragon with no wings) without breaking. They tend to all carry at least four seperate weapons at once to allow for them to adapt to most situations. They have multipule factions who have a seperate perpouse ranging from defending the empire to clearing all living things in a particular area. The most famous is the insane Bleeding Knight Order who with only twenty members cleared out an entire devils nest in under a week. They give up their humanity to gain more power than an average rock dragon(A sub-dragon that has no wings and is covered in a stone like carparace). 26- The Date(Part Five) ~Sapphire''s side~ As we walk around we start to smell a hunger inducing scent coming from a small store that is a little off to the side. It is a simple two-storied wooden building with a thick dark handmade wooden sign. The door and windows are left open and people are slowly walking over. I look over to Andria to see her drooling. The Akashic Records are exactly that a set of records that holds all the information of everything on this planet.
