 Background

    Author''s Note: Bwahaha! I''m here to bore you with a boring info dump of the world! I will probably update in the future so it can be relatable in the future chapters as well. Lets see if you survive my "Info Dump" Attack!


    Food:


    The meat scale fish. The fish sheds scales every week and with those sheded scales comes meat. The meat is dead tissue that is excessively overgrown from the fish. This provides a steady sea food supply.


    The Shed Sheep. The sheep is similar to the scale fish. They shed their skin after they have been sheared. This is due to the coldness of the weather freezing their skin causing them their biological system to set a defensive measure of growing having a different layer of skin under with a thin sheet of wool as protection against the cold.


    Geography:


    Boos live in the Haunted forest that which is well known for the quality of wood but sadly many do not dare journey into it for the fear of the dead.


    The Chain Chomps live in the Chomp Valley where they can run freely and wreck havoc. It is known that they have created a extended tunnel system for unknown reason and it is not known how deep it runs.


    The Mushroom Kingdom is controlled by Princess Peach with her Toad citizens.. The Toad kingdom though is the most peaceful and ¡®friendly¡¯ Kingdom known.


    Yoshi Island! Yoshi island is a mythical island that has no rulers but its filled with freedom with Yoshies living freely. Yoshi island is filled with lush vegetation that bare much food for the Yoshies allowing them to live a peaceful life of leisure. They only travel sometimes into the mainland in order to seek thrill, adventure or a Master.


    Bowser kingdom is a dangerous land filled with carnivorous plants and all kinds of dreadful creatures such as Goombas and Piranhas. Beware of edges as there might be lava underneath.


    Rulers:


    The boos live in their spooky mansion and the forest around it consists of some of the sturdiest wood used to create it. The ruler of the kingdom is King Boo who is well known for his pranks but sadly Boos are not the most creative thus they have difficulty entertaining themselves.


    In the Mushroom Kingdom is Princess Peach. She is known as the merciful kind ruler but deep inside though she is quite scheming as she manipulates the situation to create such an image.


    In Chomp Valley there is the Chain Chomp King who rules through his ferocious might as he brings the most devastation into the land. He is known to hold himself in a cave where large crunching and tremors are heard. He is quite active thus spends his time enjoying the small destruction that he inflicts in fear that someday he might destroy the world and have nothing else to entertain himself.


    In Bowser¡¯s Kingdom the ruler Bowser spends his days planning for the next invasion while scheming to marry Princess Peach in order to further expand his reign.


    Yoshi island does not have a ruler as it is a island protected by the world allowing the species to live a leisure life.


    Resources:


    The haunted forest is abundant in trees that have sturdy properties.


    Chomp Valley has high quality metals.

    Politics:


    The Boos are ruled by the King Boo but the Boo King acts more like family instead of a ruler.


    Chomp Valley is ruled by the Chain Chomp King but he secludes himself not dealing with Chomp Matters. The chomp king is respected by all Chain Chomps making him the leader. (Similar to the leader of a group of gangsters.)


    The Mushroom Kingdom has an active ruler that manages all aspects of society for the benefit of the living state of the toads. Princess Peach is known to use manipulation to boost her status with the Toads.


    Bowser is a tyrant who uses his fellow citizens as tools to achieve the greater schemes that he has laid out. Bowser uses his intimidating presence, strength, and powers to forcefully command his ¡®troops¡¯ that are his citizens.


    Yoshi Island is similar to a large family with no head. They decide things through random betting or first finders/harvesters.


    Architecture:


    The Boos live in their mansion where each of them have their own room. With little to no need of eating or taking care of other bodily functions they are capable of living in smaller places.


    The chain chomps generally live in caves while others live in the tunnel system. They do not have an deep requirement for living as they are living metal without the need to take care of their bodily function.


    In the Mushroom kingdom the toads live in their mushroom top shaped buildings. The generally range between 1-2 floors and the most financial stable ones have 3 floors. There is little difference in classes though. The princess though lives in a castle at the center of the town of toads.


    Bowser and his minions live in castles or fortresses constructed through the land. They maintain a vigilant patrol of the land to capture any trespassers.


    Yoshies live in herds and do not have any constructions as they take shelter through the lushes vegetation.


    History:


    The world was created long ago but its nature was lifeless. This was until a shooting star fell and brought life to the whole world with the creations of the first beings. These beings were primarily grass, shrubs and trees. No one knows which the first sentient being was but one thing is known. That with the arrival of the shooting star it brought sentience to all kinds of life forms from plants to clouds and even stars themselves.


    Chain Chomps were created from the eruption of a volcano that shot out a large piece of iron with a string of it behind it. Falling onto the earth it quickly solidified itself and gained sentience to become what is known as a Chain Chomps. They carry few memories as they have short term memories for most things except for the fun they had from destroying things. This though brought much displeasure to the already living organisms on the world and were led towards the Valley where they can act without restrain.


    In the mushroom kingdom it is known that the toads have been around since long ago before the appearance of princess Peach that led to further the prosperity of the kingdom. As for the arrival of the princess it is unknown but there are tales that a couple from a different world arrived to settle down and bared a child. That child later turned into Princess Peach while her parents died in her mid age. (Teens)


    Bowser¡¯s Kingdom was created through the arrival of a powerful sorcerer who planned the birth of the strongest being which was Bowser. Bowser from young was taught by Kamek and soon gained the demeanor of a ruler that had the desire of conquest. Now Bowser holds the dominant role but still holds some respect to Kamek as he still avoids getting rid of him when knowing Kamek is a powerful adversary if he were to betray him. Through their combine might they gathered other beings into their kingdom and sought to further enlarge their kingdom.


    Yoshi island was once a barren land at sea where no life ever bore fruit. This was until the shooting star landed chasing the properties of the world and allowing this land of death become filled with vitality and give birth to the most lush and peaceful environment in the world. Furthermore it was guarded by the rise of energy imbedding any beings with malicious intentions from finding it. One day though a group of horses were swept into sea and arrived at the island. Throughout countless of years they changed to become the Yoshi we know today.


    Author''s Note: Oh... you made it... I''m surprised you read all of this. God you must have quite a bit of spare time... I will upload the next chapter when I can. I need to get approved by RoyalRoad first.


    P.S. Ignore that I put King since I''m too lazy to change it. I put genderbender for a reason. Our protagonist is male though so sorry about that those that wanted a female protagonist. Hopefully I make a female character that you people will adore in the future.


    P.S.S. As for romance... I have no idea. Should I add it or should I not. Its a tough question but so far I don''t plan on doing so. I feel like it would ruin the story but we will find out eventually.

 Chaper 1 - The arrival

    Chapter 1 ¨C The Arrival


    Another portal opens up and another Abyss is shot out. In his mind he complains ¡®Will this kid ever take a break of making Abysses left and right?¡¯


    -Author: Nope! Thank you for all your hard work~!


    Abyss sighed as he knew his existences literally stems from a single kid¡¯s imagination. Most Abysses are grateful to him others hate him because he made them too OP. Either way. Abyss will just let this child do as he pleases within this world. During the times he doesn¡¯t write he will enjoy life the way he wants it to be.


    Abyss fell face flat on the ground. He groaned knowing this is something he must endure. Turning around he was relieved to find his body intact without broken bones. Looking around he saw many strange things. To begin with there were mushroom style buildings.


    The first thought was ¡°Did I enter the Smurfs? I know the person writing this is childish but really¡­¡± Upon closer inspection though he saw toads. Abyss smiled as he said ¡°Thank god it is not the Smurfs! I would have killed them all!¡±


    Standing up he decided to visit princess Peach. Why does he know there was a princess Peach when he just arrived? Simple, he has played Super Mario before just like his creator and his creator will make it so he meets her.


    Abyss began jogging for an hour before arriving at the dick shaped town. He chuckled thinking it this way. There were some advantages with the structures being like this but seriously someone must change this kind of architecture.


    Many toads stopped to stare at him. Abyss looked around and chuckled. This poor innocent fools. He was not the kind of Abyss that would act as a hero for some special reward. He was the lazy kind that doesn¡¯t mind what others do while they don¡¯t mess with him.


    It took another hour before he reached the castle gate where two toads were guarding seriously. He was about to laugh but held it in. Walking over with a forced smile he said ¡°Can I see Princess Peach for a moment?¡±


    The toad looked at him and said ¡°Do you have an appointment?¡± Abyss shook his head and said ¡°I just got here. Tell her that a man from a different planet came here by accident. I want to settle down and enjoy life.¡±


    The toad ignored him though as it said ¡°No appointment no entrance.¡± Abyss grinned as he said with surprise ¡°Incredible for such strict toads to exist but¡­ there is a small problem.¡±


    The toad looked at him with annoyance as it said ¡°What is it?¡± Abyss chuckled as he said ¡°I do not¡­ take no as an ANSWER.¡± His voice was dangerous low at the end. This caused the armed toad take a step back as it felt Abyss becoming a frightening existence.


    Abyss smiled as he said ¡°Are you not supposed to protect your princess? How could you back down when a dangerous person stands in front of you?¡±This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Report any appearances on Amazon.


    Hearing this Toad felt embarrassed and said ¡°How dare you threaten Princess Peach! I must arrest you!¡± Abyss laughed evilly as he said ¡°Try catching me then.¡± He jumped onto the gate and began climbing at an alarming rate.


    The toad was momentarily shocked as it said ¡°Open the gate! Get the guards to secure the entrance!¡± Abyss though had already reached the top and jumped off with a playful smile. Landing on the ground safely he turned around and waved ¡°See ya.¡±


    Abyss began running away ignoring the yells of the approaching guards. He who no longer held back ran at an alarming speed eventually entering the castle before word got there. Many toads were surprised by the sudden arrival of Abyss but considering that no one could enter without permission they somewhat ignored it.


    Abyss walked to one and asked ¡°Do you know where Princess Peach is?¡± The toad nodded and said ¡°She is at the plaza garden having a tea party with Maria and Luigina.¡± Abyss nodded and thanked the toad ¡°Thanks! Also if guards come here tell them I flew into the air.¡±


    The toad was confused but just shrugged it off.


    The Guard Toads soon arrived and question the nearest toad ¡°Where did a man about the height of this spear go?¡± Toad looked up and said ¡°He flew up into the sky.¡±


    Silence¡­


    The guard toad said ¡°I quit. I¡¯m sure Princess Peach will be alright with Maria and Luigina with her.¡± On this day a guard toad decided to quit its job for a more leisure life. He did not regret it for a moment.


    Abyss soon arrived at a large garden after asking several toads for direction and telling them all kinds of stories of what they should say if a guard was to ask for him. One such story was him being a ghost and phasing through the walls. Another was that he was a fish and the toad helped him enter the sink to survive but the tap popped off causing him to sink down and disappear.


    The remaining guard toads began regretting their existences as they were sent on several different goose chases. Abyss laughed playfully as he said ¡°This time what should it be? Bowser appearing to eat me or King Boo taking me away?¡±


    Abyss soon appeared in front of 3 girls. He sighed bitterly as he said ¡°Aw man! I was having so much fun! Great! Now I have to take care of business¡­¡± There was a tinge of sadness in his voice. His small outburst quickly drew the attention of the three girls. The red shirt girl with overalls jumped and shouted ¡°Who are you?¡±


    Abyss shrugged as he said ¡°I have 3 names currently so which one do you want to hear?¡± The red shirt girl with overalls became confused as she said ¡°You have three names?¡± Abyss nodded as he said ¡°Yeah. My original name is Abyss. The name that is most popular with the guard toads is Trickster and finally the less known one is a person from a different world. Well, I guess two of them are more titles than names.¡±


    Princess Peach stood up as she asked ¡°What do you mean you are known as trickster for the guard toads?¡±


    Abyss shrugged as he said ¡°Can I dine with you guys. It should be explained within half an hour.¡± Princess Peach quickly agreed with a smile ¡°Sure.¡±


    So for the next 30 minutes Abyss spent it relaxing with tea and sweets. He learned that the red shirt and hat girl was named Maria and the green shirt and hat girl was name Luigina. He already could guess this were genderbend Mario and Luigi of the world. He decided to ignore it.


    30 minutes later¡­


    ¡°Found him! Finally!¡± The guard toad who shouted broke down in tears of joy and grieve. Several other guard toads followed shouting words of gratitude that their wild goose search was over.


    Abyss chuckled at this while the girls were left speechless. Princess Peach looked at Abyss carefully and asked ¡°What did you do to them?¡±


    Abyss smiled playfully as he said ¡°I told every toad in the castle a different story of my whereabouts so they could search around the whole kingdom for me.¡± Princess Peach shivered hearing of his mischievous actions ¡®What a frightfully cunning and merciless man.¡¯


    If she knew that he almost sent her guard toads to Bowser and King Boo she might even call him the devil.

 Side Story

    POV Guard 1


    I felt annoyed needing to chase after a man who somehow managed to enter the castle without permission. It was not the first time but it was a man. ¡°Have you seen a black haired man come this way?¡±


    The toad that was inside nodded as he said ¡°He jumped into warp pipe 17 which leads to the city sewer system. In the process I saw him turn into a turtle.¡±


    Hearing this I felt miserable. For the next 25 minutes I spent them running around like a maniac inside the town¡¯s sewer system. It was not that I was awfully desperate to capture the intruder but I found something. No, it is better to say it found me.


    ¡°I don¡¯t want to die yet!¡± I shouted at the top of my lungs as I ran while carrying a bunch of turtles with me. The giant alligator though chased me behind with persistence. Its eyes showed a glint of hunger as it kept chomping its snout.


    I interrogated the turtles but got no answer. It was clear that toad was forced to lie to me! Once I get my hands on that man who forced the toad to lie I will beat him up!


    POV guard 2 (Fish that entered the sink)


    I was happy that there was finally some action around here. This place was boring but finally something happened. With these thoughts I questioned a toad ¡°Have you seen a man pass here?¡± The toad nodded and said ¡°He transformed into a fish right before my eyes. I took him to the sink to help him live but before I knew it he went down the drain. Shouting ¡®I will destroy the drainage system!¡¯ or something like that.¡±


    Hearing this my face paled in terror and I was filled with excitement. I went to the castle¡¯s basement and entered a passage that leads to the drainage system. For the next 10 minutes I searched the entirety of the place but with no luck. Surely he couldn¡¯t have gotten far.


    Maybe he is hiding inside one of the cleaning systems that allow the water to be recycled. With these thoughts I headed to the filtering part of the place. The closer I got the more I trembled with despair. This place was disgusting to say the least.Love what you''re reading?     It reeked worse than spoil eggs and milk. I had to cover my mouth and nose to barely be able to withstand it but when I reached the place I found a door. Opening it was similar to unleashing all the smells of hell. I blackout and entered a comatose state with foam leaking out of my mouth.


    If I survive I will surely force this person into this area. It is clear that if he made it here he would surely die from the stink itself. I subconsciously crawled out of the place closing it and passing out for another 5 minutes. Finally my conscious returned and I began my search again with every toad that I approached covering their mouth and nose to avoid puking from my stench.


    POV guard 3 (Phasing through the walls)


    I was awfully bored and tired from my job. I was planning on retiring soon but it appears that someone had to intrude and make things interesting. I groaned as I asked ¡°Have you seen a man running around here?¡±


    The toad nodded and said ¡°Indeed! I saw him phase right through that wall. I nodded not caring what he was speaking about. I just had to figure out how to enter this wall. He surely can¡¯t hide in there forever. He was a fool letting someone phase through a wall while some was watching.


    This also brings to question how he phase through since it was oddly suspicious but who cares. Surely none of the other toads would question another toad¡¯s words. So I didn¡¯t either since I did not want to be bothered.


    I spent 5 minutes searching for a way inside and finally I found a door. The door was really well decorated for some reason and smelled kind of nice. This person must have been lucky getting into such a neat room. Who knows what he is doing there.


    I opened the door and entered it without a second thought. It is my job to capture this man and it will finally be over. Walking deeper inside while only keeping an eye out for the man that was said to have black hair I did not notice something important.


    Inside this place were neatly placed pieces of clothing that were not from the guards or male toads. When I realized this it was too late. I opened the door to heaven and hell. The female toads were bathing and I happened to intrude. Their piercing eyes landed on me and I felt my existence shiver as if I provoked death.


    Seeing their bodies though I had a nose bleed and could only stutter feeling shocked ¡°I- I- I ca-¡° I was sent flying by a female toad throwing a fist to my face. For the next 15 minutes I was relentlessly beaten black and blue by them before being tossed outside as if I were trash.


    It took me 5 minutes to wake up from the coma I entered feeling all my body aching. It was worse than having bones broken even. If I ever find the man I swear I beat him up until he can¡¯t stand. With this grudge in mind I stood up and began my search with renewed resolution.


    For the first time since becoming a guard I gave it my all.

 Chapter 2 - Gaining a Fief

    Chapter 2 ¨C Gaining a Fief


    Abyss stared at the toads eyes filled with grievances and desire for vengeance. He laughed deep inside his soul enjoying their misery. This is what they get for daring to offend him even a small hidden part of him was smiling deep inside but let us ignore that part.


    Nonetheless he did not forget his business ¡°Princess Peach right? I have business to talk to you about. It would be for the best if no one is here to intervene with the conversation although I don¡¯t mind these two girls being there if they make you feel safe.¡±


    Abyss said this only to get rid of the toads that looked as if they were ready to go and mug him. Princess Peach nodded as she said ¡°My dear Guard Toads. There is nothing to worry about. You can all return to your stations.¡±


    The toads hearing this nearly collapsed in despair. They wanted to stay and take care of their own ¡®business¡¯ with the man but the princess has spoken for them to return to their stations. They love the princess and most were willing to give their life for her thus they left begrudgingly without another word.


    Abyss smiled as he said ¡°Safe!¡± Maria and Luigina looked at him with suspicion while Princess Peach looked at him with her princess demeanor. Abyss chuckled and said ¡°Oh Merciful Kind Princess Peach! I besiege you to give me a fief of my own to call home. That is what I would say if I was really that desperate. Let us cut to the chase though. I want a fief to call my own and if I don¡¯t get one I will change it to ¡®Oh so cruel and merciless Princess Peach denied sanctuary to a homeless man without anything but his clothes.¡¯ Of course I won¡¯t be saying it but someone will.¡±


    Abyss smiled as he looked at the sky in this open space garden. Princess Peach did not hesitate to speak as she said ¡°Of course you can have a piece of land to settle down. I¡¯m not too certain what you mean by the second half of your speech though.¡±


    Abyss hearing what he needed said with a smile ¡°Oh nothing. I was just talking nonsense. Princess Peach is truly merciful and kind that her name will forever resound through the Mushroom Kingdom.¡± Princess Peach smiled but deep inside she was cursing him.


    She knew the last portion of his speech was a threat to ruin her precious image that she worked so hard to create. She was not certain if he could do her harm but considering the display he created he surely can do some damage if he set his mind to it. It would be best to play it safe while having a spy toad keep an eye on him. She would also have to keep him close in order to avoid anyone from using him against her too so she already planned on creating a fief for him near toad town.     Abyss grinned widely as he said ¡°Can I have a map outlining my fief? You can personally get it or sent someone else. I¡¯m certain that no one will mind your requests.¡± Princess Peach nodded as she excused herself to retrieving and outlining the map for him. Abyss looked at the upset Maria and Luigina. He smiled as he said ¡°Is there something wrong?¡±


    Maria was the first to speak ¡°The princess might have not understood what you were saying but we did. You better watch your words in the future.¡± Luigina followed up with ¡°Yeah or you will be dealing with us in the future.¡±


    Abyss chuckled as he said ¡°Calm down ladies. I will leave this castle for almost for good. I can¡¯t guarantee I won¡¯t come back but you can be certain of something. If no one goes around provoking me I will have no reason to play games with you all.¡±


    Maria was becoming angry at Abyss¡¯s casual tone. Abyss seeing this got up and took a few steps back holding his arms up saying cautiously ¡°Easy easy. It is just a misunderstanding. Your princess is definitely great as she is kind and caring so those words were unnecessary but if you go around attacking me and Princess Peach just happens to witness this what do you think she will think? What will the toads around her think ladies? Let us just call it a truce to not bother with each other unless is absolutely necessary.¡±


    Maria huffed as she calmed herself town. Luigina tried to help her by placing a hand on her shoulder and saying ¡°His right Maria. We can¡¯t go around causing trouble to someone that has yet to do anything wrong. It was just some careless words.¡± Abyss nodded with a smile showing that he was pleased.


    The doors leading to the garden opened with Princess Peach entering. ¡°I have retrieved the map. Oh my, is there something wrong?¡± She said with a worried face but deep inside she was pleased that both Maria and Luigina defended her. Abyss chuckled ¡®nervously¡¯ as he said ¡°Nothing is wrong. You arrived just in time to join us in our game of charades. Am I right girls?¡±


    Both Maria and Luigina nodded as Abyss swung his arm around as if he was hitting something. Maria eyes lit up and shouted ¡°Hammer!¡± Abyss laughed and said ¡°Correct!¡± Returning to looking at Princess Peach he said ¡°I apologize that I must go so soon. I have many things to take care of. Maybe in the future I can play charades with you but until then I will take my leave.¡±


    Princess Peach nodded and showed a ¡®caring¡¯ smile as she said ¡°No worries. I will love to play charades with you another time.¡± She handed him the map and Abyss walked out of the place silently through the garden entrance. The rest of the way he was running and laughing as the toads gave chase still wanting to exact their vengeance upon him.

 Chapter 3 - Messing with Toad Town!

    Chapter 3 ¨C Messing with Toad Town


    Just as Abyss was about to reach freedom he found out that it was surrounded by toads holding sharp spears. Abyss cursed in his mind ¡®Fuck you!¡¯ He was just having a bit of fun did they really need to point those spears at him? Sure everything he said might have caused them to face perilous situations but how would he know what they faced?


    In the end he ended up running towards the side of the wall guarding the castle. Seeing that their plan worked the toads followed after him hoping to corner him off. Sadly for them they underestimated Abyss¡¯s ability to escape. Upon reaching the wall he jumped and climbed the wall like a lizard.


    This shocked many toads as they stared dumbly at Abyss who was straining his fingers to climb up the wall. Finally reaching the top he took a breath of relieve before looking at his bloody fingers. He was not prepared for some wall climbing so his fingers were quite delicate.


    He could only sigh as he vowed to avenge them. Jumping down he began running through toad town as the guard toads began following. Abyss smiled as he had already came up with a plan of revenge. Entering a random toad store he looked around the place and upon seeing the store owner sleeping he grinned madly as he found a nice cabinet where he could hide.


    This was phase one of his plan. Toads could be heard quickly rushing into the place and interrogating the poor store toad. Sound of rustling could be heard and when they reached his cabinet he grabbed it hard just to make sure it won¡¯t budge. When they tried to open it they found out that it was pointless struggle causing them to ignore it. Afterwards Abyss heard the footsteps of the guard toads walking out. With a smile he sneaked out surprising the store toad.


    Looking at him he glared and placed a finger in his mouth to say that he must keep his silence or else. The store toad nodded quickly not wanting to get into trouble with either the guards or Abyss. Abyss walked out of the store and shouted ¡°You guys aren¡¯t bright are ya!? Can¡¯t find me even when I¡¯m hiding in such a small place haha! Useless!¡±Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.


    The guard toads froze hearing this. Now it was time to move to the next phase. He rushed out of the place finding another store and grabbing the store toad he rushed outside through the back door before locking it. He made sure toad could not speak as loud sound was heard inside.


    Thinking of what he saw inside he could only feel pity for the store toad since his shop was an antique shop. By the sounds the he was hearing it was clear the guard toads were furious enough to forget that they were damaging property. After 5 minutes of pure havoc inside and mental torture for the store toad Abyss finally heard them leave.


    Walking inside he grinned madly as he saw the place was wrecked. Abyss rushed out leaving a crying store toad.


    These actions repeated with many different store toads with Abyss only making the guard toads more furious over time. Finally Abyss was cornered in an alley. The guard toads now had red faces out of anger shouting ¡°Finally we got him! Brothers its time to exact our ve-¡°


    At this point another voice was heard behind the guard toads ¡°Finally we caught you all! Your going to pay for all the damage you have caused!¡± The voice sounded even more furious than the guard toads. The guard toads had cold sweat as they turned around to meet a large mob. Abyss took this opportunity to climb out of the place.


    The guard toad in the head said ¡°We can explain this! We were chasing a criminal! His right over there!¡± The guard toad that wanted to justify himself by pushing the blame to Abyss but was got off guard as he was now only point at air. This though did not sit well with the store toads as they said ¡°Who cares for what reason! Even if it was true you¡¯re all going to pay!¡±


    For the next hour miserable screams echoed in the valley. Once the store toads finished beating them up they left one by one. The last one walking out said in a cold voice ¡°Remember you all have to come to work at 7 am sharp until 5 pm. If not we will complain to the princess about the destruction you all have wrecked.¡±


    The guard toads were more than miserable at this point as they made their way back limping to the castle vowing to never stand in that man¡¯s way again. They had to go through hell at the castle and even more hell at the town. Not to mention now they will not get discounts from all the toad stores in the town they could only hope they could earn more money to survive.


    Abyss who at this point was covered in sweat was resting at the edge of the town exhausted. On his face was a bright smile as he managed to hear the echoes of a bunch of foolish toads. He felt really happy having this kind of fun in his life. He should visit the castle sooner than he promised. He is more than certain they would ''welcome'' him.


    Once they begin the chase the fun will start again.

 Chapter 4 - Striking a Deal

    Chapter 4 - Striking a Deal


    Abyss who had rested for a while finally got up. He looked at the map that he had received from the Princess and wondered ¡®where the hell am I?¡¯ He could see his designated area for he had no idea where in Toad Town he was. He got on top of a building to see if he could tell with the distance of the castle and the general direction it was facing.


    In the end he learned something. He is not that smart so he gave up and asked a nearby toad about the his location in the map. He also low key hinted he was hungry. ¡°Hey Toad! I was wondering if you can give me direction to the place on this map. Also I¡¯m starving.¡±


    Yep! He kept it as low key as possible. The toad looked annoyed at the end of his sentence but sighed and said ¡°Alright. Let take a look. I can also ask my friend if he can bake you something. It is rare for strangers to come around especially so unprepared.¡±


    Abyss knew the Toad was mocking him but who cares? There was directions and free food. What can a few bad words do to him? In the end he only smiled and acted somewhat polite to the toad. The toad ended up telling him where exactly he was which to his surprise wasn¡¯t too far from his designated area.


    He was quite lucky. He then followed the toad to a nearby restaurant and got some free food. The food consisted of meat and more meat. How lavish¡­ Did they forget to bring the vegetarian menu into this world? He could only feel pity to those vegetarians that arrive in this world. They would surely starve to death soon after.


    Looking at the receptionist toad that looked somewhat annoyed he smiled and said ¡°Hello I¡¯m new to town. Might telling me a bit of history and culture around here?¡± Abyss voiced his question respectfully causing the toad to somewhat relax and sigh. Looking at him with little to no interest he began informing him.


    ¡°Welcome to Toad town then. Here we have the kind and merciful ruler known throughout the kingdom as Peach Toadstool. We specialize in selling meat products and other small utilities like shoes, clothes and hammers. I did hear a few other empires have some people that work on those areas but they are mainly for the privileged. There are several kingdoms the one we are in is called the Mushroom Kingdom. The others are less friendly and the Bowsette Kingdom is outright hostile. Make sure to keep out of their land or you be captured. Where you come from though? I haven¡¯t seen a human since the appearance of the twins.¡±The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.


    Abyss shrugged while swallowing a piece of meat and said ¡°If I tell you then you might not believe me.¡± The Toad nodded wondering if he was from Bowser Kingdom since he would find it hard to believe. Abyss who felt that he still has not finished his repayment asked ¡°Do you have anything you need? All I got is this map which I¡¯m using but I can help you out with it.¡±


    The Toad looked at him and said ¡°Let me take a look. I heard from my friend that you got a small fief in the outskirts of town.¡±


    Abyss took out the map to allow the toad to take a look through it. The toad glanced at it for a second and said ¡°In that case I do have something you can do for me. You see that fief you got was the place which gave the jumpstart to my business. In that place there is a nice pond filled with water, kel and meat scale fishes. Problem is that when I started my business I overfished that area of the meat scale fish leading to the seaweed that used to be eaten by the meat scale fish to overgrow. Mind helping me solve my problem?¡±


    Abyss smiled as he asked ¡°Do I get paid? I¡¯m sure you don¡¯t want that seaweed to be wasted.¡± The toad laughed for once as he said ¡°Sure! You bring be a box filled with seaweed and I give you a meat scale fish in exchange. This way you can start your own meat scale fish farm although I would appreciate it if you don¡¯t open up a store.¡±


    Abyss chuckled as he said with joy ¡°Deal!¡± Abyss was previously worried of what he was going to eat. Looking at the toad he said ¡°I¡¯m hate to impose but I might need to borrow some supplies such as a small wagon, boxes and food to survive until production becomes steady to feed me. I sell you the extra or just give it for free if you like.¡±


    The toad smiled as he said ¡°You sure know how to treat others.¡± Abyss nodded as he said in a leisure manner ¡°Of course. If you don¡¯t get in my way I won¡¯t interfere with you. If you help me then I will accommodate to help you back.¡±


    So the deal was struck and Abyss soon ended up on a small wagon with 9 empty boxes. The 10th box was filled with provisions that could last him until he got a return from the meat scale fish that would be given to him for the exchange of seaweed.

 Chapter 5 - Cleaning the Pond

    Chapter 5 ¨C Cleaning the Pond


    It took 20 minutes to arrive at the fief. The sun was already beginning to set thus Abyss decided to cover the wagon with the covering that it had. This way it can avoid letting his provisions and boxes from getting wet. He himself entered and laid down in between the boxes.


    On his face was a noticeable smile as he said ¡°I got a lot of work ahead of me. I might as well catch up on my rest and begin tomorrow.¡± Closing his eyes he let his conscious drift off into dreamland where he went scuba fishing.


    200 feet away from Abyss there were a pair closely watching him. ¡°Maria, I don¡¯t think we should be keep an eye on him. It is rude and he hasn¡¯t done anything wrong.¡± The one who just spoke was Luigina. Maria though answered with a scoff ¡°Not yet but you never know. He might be planning something. Let''s keep an eye on him for a couple of days. Plus its already clear he is here with malicious intentions. Did you not see how he caused trouble around Toad Town and the guard toads had to pay for it?¡±


    Luigina sighed not knowing what to make of it. She looked at Maria and said with uncertainty ¡°Maria we are not even sure if he is planning anything malicious. All we know is that the Guard Toads don¡¯t like him enough to chase him. This is no reason to instantly suspect that he has ill intent for the kingdom.¡±


    Pouting Maria gave in ¡°True but I just want to make sure. You will help me right?¡± Maria looked at Luigina with puppy dog eyes causing Luigina to sigh in resignation ¡°Fine.¡± Maria cheered for a moment before returning to watch Abyss with a keen eye.


    This though did not continue long because Luigina quickly set a schedule of an on and off duty so they could at least sleep for a while.


    Abyss woke up the next day with the musky air filled with the scent of grass and rain. Taking a deep breath he looked at the map. There was now a blue area inside the red colored area that designated his fief.


    Rolling up the map he began moving slowly towards the location. He was worried that the seaweed might act as a covering that would lead to a disastrous event if he were not careful. It took me 20 minutes of searching to find the pond. Looking at it he was grateful for his cautious nature. It was somewhat difficult to tell the difference between the limit of the solid ground and the pond.


    Getting up he began to unpack the boxes before stopping to stare at the seaweed imaginary eyes. He glared as he said ¡°I will definitely clean you out.¡± After finishing a great battle ensued. He jumped into the pond only to scream in terror as he said ¡°AAAAAH! Disgusting! It is wrapping around me!¡±


    He soon disappeared into the pond causing both Maria and Luigina to worry about him and wonder if they should run over to help him. This lasted only half a minute as they  prepared to rush towards Abyss aid.


    Inside the pond Abyss was struggling to fight the mighty seaweed, god of the small pond. Throwing kicks and punches only led to the seaweed tightening around him. 10 seconds passed in this manner until Abyss just snapped. Opening his jaw he bit down hard tearing through the seaweed. This repeated until he finally freed himself. He soon popped out of the pond in hurry to take a deep gasp of air. Crawling onto solid land he let his body collapse.


    This thing is more dangerous than the guard toads maybe they should place this thing as a guard instead of them toads. Looking back at the pond he sighed as he said ¡°This is going to take forever.¡± Finishing these words he ran 10 feet away from the pond and puked. A seaweed infested pond was really disgusting. Especially when one had to use their teeth to liberate themselves letting the water touch his taste buds.


    Maria and Luigina were giggling at this sight. Luigina was the first to recover as she said ¡°See? How can this person be dangerous? He nearly got himself killed by seaweed.¡± Maria nodded with a smile as she said ¡°True. I¡¯m starting to doubt myself now but I still want to keep an eye on him a bit longer. I feel like he will do more silly stuff.¡± Luigina smiled as she said ¡°Count me in.¡±This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Report any appearances on Amazon.


    If Abyss knew these two girls were watching him for the enjoyment of his suffering then he would have most likely charged a fee. At least that way his suffering goes rewarded but he did not know of this.


    Nonetheless Abyss was a quick learner so the same tragedy happening twice to him was rare. Instead of jumping into the pond he began to trim down the edges. This continued for 5 hours until he had 3 boxes filled with broken pieces of seaweed. His mouth was now covered with its taste but his expression was focused.


    He did not mind going through a bit of suffering to accomplish his goal. Now he had a clear sight of the edge of the bond. Now it was time to begin the next phase of the excessive seaweed removal. He once again took a step into the pond but with caution as he soon felt the floor. Standing at the edge of the bond he grasped a pair of seaweed and tried to yank it only for it to break apart. Abyss groaned knowing that it would be pointless to do it like this.


    Thinking for a moment he thought of how he would remove weeds when he was younger. He would grab their base and yank it out. This though was because the ground was hard. With these thoughts in mind he crouched down and dug his hand into the muddy floor of the pond. After loosening the mud he grasped the roots of it and pulled it out.


    To his surprise the method was effective as the entire piece of seaweed was removed. It was 7 feet long by the looks of it too. Abyss smiled idiotically as his brain went to an auto work mode. His focused smiling expression was completely integrated as he worked with gusto throwing the seaweed into boxes.


    2 hours later he woke up as he felt that a good portion of the pond clear up. Looking around he calculated that he at least cleaned a good 15% of it. The boxes were full though so he could not longer continue.


    Walking to the wagon he began pulling it back to the shop. Maria and Luigina though were just silently watching. Maria was hoping for something humorous to happen but to her surprise it did not. Luigina though was confused as she did not understand what exactly was going on in Abyss¡¯s mind.


    She even began to question if the Abyss she met back at the castle was this current Abyss. His actions appeared too honest and pure hearted to be related to the devious demon of not long ago. She just shook her head and stayed silent. She was the younger of the siblings and she did not want to upset Maria just because she wanted to express her opinion.


    Abyss reached the store that the previous toad brought him. Entering he smiled as the receptionist toad was still working. Walking over he sat down and said ¡°I got 10 boxes filled with seaweed. Also, what are you going to use them for? I¡¯m more than sure you found a perfect balance in your meat scale fish farm.¡±


    The toad just gave him a smile and said ¡°Can never be too safe. I will freeze them to preserve in case I ever have a need for it. Also I can sell them for a bit of extra cash. Haven¡¯t you realize around this place there is where little edible plants?¡±


    Abyss nodded as he said ¡°True. Well, thanks for the job though. Also, I never got your name. Mind telling me?¡± Toad chuckled as he said ¡°Isn¡¯t it rude to ask for someone else name when you haven¡¯t said your own? Well whatever. You can call me Doff.¡± Abyss nodded as he said ¡°I got only 1 name for people of your kind. Abyss. That¡¯s my real name not a title that I carry.¡±


    Toad looked at him and without restrain said ¡°What a strange name.¡± Abyss laughed hearing this as he said ¡°I got it from my parent. He saw an endless Abyss in me so he called me Abyss. You¡¯re not much better Doff. I can¡¯t make any sense of it.¡±


    Doff laughed hearing this and said ¡°My name is Doff for certain reasons. I will tell in the future.¡± Abyss shrugged as he said ¡°Better late than never.¡± Doff laughed at this before asking Abyss to exchange the boxes for new ones.


    For the rest of the day Abyss spent it working diligently. When going to Doff store he talked to him for a while before going back to work. In the process he asked about how to take care of the meat scale fish and received plenty of answers. A single meat scale fish can live their life in peace with a single seaweed plant.


    This means that the seaweed plants and meat scale fish must be in a 1:1 ratio for the pond to be at a balance. Abyss began announcing his worries of how much he needs to keep himself alive while also keeping the fish living well.


    Doff calmed his worries by answering all his questions while also giving advise of how to manage them. Abyss paid careful attention to this as the idea of living off Meat Scale Fish became more feasible. By the end of the day Doff offered him a small room to stay as he learned that Abyss technically did not have any place to go.


    Abyss expressed his sincere gratitude as he did not reject knowing full well that it would be similar to devaluing his friendship with Doff. If Doff ever needed him that Abyss would definitely take action to help him in any matter even if the matter involves blood.

 Chapter 6 - Establishing Himself at the Fief

    Waking up with a blanket and pillow Abyss yawned lazily. It was rare for him to be able to sleep so peacefully. He trusted Doff so he did not mind falling asleep without a worry at his place. After fixing himself up slightly he walked outside. Doff looked at him and sighed saying ¡°Take a shower. There is a private room upstairs with a bathroom. One of the walls is hollow. That place holds a bath. I made it just to relax here but I guess I don¡¯t mind lending it to you.¡±


    Abyss smelled himself and instantly regretted it. His brows wrinkled as he agreed knowing that if he didn¡¯t it would not only burden him but it would also burden Doff. Doff nodded with satisfaction as he said ¡°Leave your clothes outside. We toads have a quick way to do laundry.¡±


    Abyss nodded not worrying about this request. He arrived at the top floor and found the shower quickly behind a fake wall. Removing his clothes he left them outside and took a nice bath. He wondered why Doff was being so nice to him. Usually there was no one that would do things for free. He was certain that the money earned through seaweed would not bring big revenue either. Was Doff hiding something from him?


    Abyss sighed as he let his thoughts dissipate and he focused on taking a bath. After a nice 30 minutes he finally finished and exited the bath to find his clothes completely clean. Putting them on Abyss walked down to the first floor and sat down on the counter. The place was silent as Doff noticed Abyss was thinking of something.


    Abyss was not a person to avoid voicing his thoughts so it only took two minutes before he spoke ¡°Why are you helping me so much?¡± Doff continued his work by cleaning his glass cups and said calmly as if expecting the question ¡°You are not a bad person. You have good self awareness and don¡¯t act arrogantly when in front of those that help you. You clearly also value the favors people do for you. Why would I know help a person like you? You know, maybe one day something terrible will happen. If on a random day I refused to help a stranger that could have help me overcome it then wouldn¡¯t it be a tragedy?¡±


    Abyss smiled as he said teasingly ¡°Isn¡¯t that a long shot? One in a million that you help someone that would help you back?¡± Doff laughed as he said ¡°Indeed but why not give it a try? I don¡¯t lose much and have much to gain if something does happen even if nothing happens then I could say I made a new friend.¡±


    Abyss grinned hearing this as he said ¡°Darn right!¡± Abyss loved Doff¡¯s answer. It was not something that solely focused on using the stranger in the future but actually forming a bond with them. Abyss found this people to be as rare as phoenix feathers in his previous world. Now here there was a toad with that kind of mentality!


    Abyss stood up and said ¡°I guess I be back to working. See you soon.¡± Abyss returned to his Fief and began working hard to remove the seaweed. He also took account to the quantity of Meat Scale Fish that Doff planned on giving him. It was enough to keep two people alive without a problem. This was a pretty large quantity considering that it could feed 2 people for their entire life if taken care of well.


    Doff though stated that he had several times more causing Abyss to feel curious at how large of a pond he had. Time passed and in half the time Abyss already filled the boxes.     Abyss continued his work and finished taking out the rest of the seaweed that he wanted. He kept only the quantity recommended for the meat scale fish to eat from allowing them to keep it in check. It was already nearing night time but Abyss made the journeys short as he practically sprinted with grace towards Doff place. This repeated a few times until he finally delivered all of it. Abyss was at this point soaked in sweat causing him to stink quite a bit.


    Doff did not mind this as he was surprised at Abyss sudden progress. He expected Abyss to take at least half a week to do this job or worse. Not that he did it in less than two days it left him somewhat shocked. Abyss smiled seeing Doff surprised face. Doff though decided to take revenge as he said ¡°Take a bath you stink!¡±


    Abyss felt a bit embarrassed hearing this. Sure he managed to do the job but now he stinks no better compared to yesterday. Doff laughed seeing Abyss embarrassed expression as he said ¡°Hurry along. I will let you sleep here again.¡±


    Abyss laughed as he ran upstairs like a kid given permission to stay at home instead of going to school. Doff only shook his head with a smile as he said ¡°He really is that person that caused havoc for the guard toads. I truly wonder why he did those things. The guard toads said he was trying to cause trouble for no reason but I don¡¯t believe it. He clearly has self restrain and control of himself. Who cares though since if no one wants to help him I might as well do it. That kid won¡¯t get far without me.¡±


    The process repeated itself as Abyss came out dressed nicely. He began wondering what kind of magic toads have to clean clothes so fast. It made no sense. Shaking his head Abyss decided not to impose on asking the secrets of the toads. It was a toad thing. Sighing he wondered where to get more clothes since he seriously had a lack of them. There was also a problem that he had yet to address but he still had to finish what he had on his plate.


    Arriving downstairs Abyss asked ¡°So, I left 30 seaweed that should grow to be a few more by tomorrow. I will need around 40 meat scale fish to feed two people so I need to wait another day or so to get place them in right?¡±


    Doff smiled as he said ¡°Yep although you could make it instant by taking some seaweed back. I will get the 40 scale fish transport to you tomorrow. They produce meat scales daily so you don¡¯t have to worry of not having food for a day.¡±


    Abyss nodded as he said ¡°Alright we have that planned out but now I have a problem.¡± Doff laughed hearing this as he said ¡°Let me guess. You don¡¯t have building materials or tools to construct a place for yourselves.¡±


    Abyss scratched his head shyly as he said ¡°Sorry for bothering you so much.¡± Doff shook his head and said ¡°No worries I can help you gather the tools but there is a problem. The materials to build are quite special around here. You can say us toads were fortunate to finish building most of our houses before they appeared.¡±


    Abyss raised his brow filled with curiosity and asked ¡°Who is they?¡± Doff face became deadly serious as he said ¡°The Boos. It was long ago since they appeared out of nowhere and took over the forest. Initially they were living beings but now they are ghosts that haunt the forest.¡±


    Abyss frowned hearing this as he said ¡°You mean to get building materials I need to travel to the haunted forest right?¡± Doff bitterly smiled as he said ¡°I fear that is the only way.¡± Abyss laughed as he said ¡°Easy! I¡¯m am invincible in this world. There is nothing that can threaten me.¡±


    Abyss began to boast about his abilities but deep inside there was a bit off worry growing but he could not back away. He had to charge forward and gather the wood he needed to build. Doff frowned for once and said ¡°Don¡¯t be overconfident even with your supposed great abilities you must be careful. They are able to possess your body.¡±


    Abyss smiled lightly at this warning as he said ¡°No worries. I will come back as quick as lightning.¡± Doff sighed as he said ¡°Very well but you better take some food. I heard there is nothing to eat out there anymore.¡± Abyss nodded in appreciation as he head to bed.


    Morning came and Doff somehow had 2 barrels filled with 20 meat scale fish and a few seaweed plants inside. Abyss took little time to transport it to the pond and return back where Doff gave him a farewell gift in preparation for his journey.

    I am not planning on dropping this for quite a while... Until I get like 30-50 chapters out. Right now I''m planning on slowing down my posting to around 2-3 a week because I need to study for my end of the year exams in high school which I have to say aren''t going to be easy.


    Especially math...


    Also I came to a dividing point in the story. While writing the story I already had a plan laid out in front of me but something happened. I let my creative take advantage and the story ended up shifting from the happy go lucky MC to a more cold andcautious MC. I like both honestly but considering this story started with haappy go lucky MC I''m not sure how things will come out. He might become more calculative which may be something you guys won''t like and so on.The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.


    So here is the deal. I will make a poll and we will vote. Those that want happy go lucky will have a fun and interesting story while the colder and more cautious MC will have to sit on the corner until I decide he can come in just for $hits and giggles.


    Honestly I hope you guys vote for the Happy go Lucky but I already wrote the chapter with the colder and more cautious MC beginning to develop so I decided to leave it to a poll. If the latter wins then I won''t change that chapter. If the former wins then I will change the chapter so the MC can have a lot of fun in the chapter that I was planning.

    Abyss thanked him as after receiving directions began heading out. It appeared that the Haunted Forest was south of the Mushroom Kingdom. As he was leaving he found two girls looking at him. Abyss sighed as he said ¡°You girls stop spying on me.¡±


    Maria coughed hearing these words as she said ¡°We weren¡¯t spying!¡± Luigina though was honest as she said ¡°Alright but where you going this time? It is clear you are not heading back to your fief.¡± Abyss raised his brow and asked ¡°Is it important where I go?¡± Maria frowned as she said ¡°Of course! We can¡¯t let a spy of Bowsette infiltrate the kingdom.¡± Luigina sighed as she said ¡°Please ignore my older sister. I doubt you are heading to the Koopa Kingdom where Bowsette is considering the direction your traveling. Could it be the haunted forest?¡±


    Abyss chuckled as he said ¡°It appears most of the brains ended with the younger sibling.¡± Maria hearing this was enraged as she said ¡°Shut it!¡± Abyss only glanced at her and asked ¡°You know you are getting on my nerves.¡± Maria hmph with displeasure as she said ¡°Alright fine. I will stop bothering you if you swear on your life to not threaten the princess again.¡±


    Abyss eyes became cold as a dangerous feeling was beginning to leak from his being. Glancing over he asked ¡°What did you say.¡± Maria shivered and Luigina quickly intervened to meditate the situation ¡°She said nothing. She is just very worried for the Princess safety that is all.¡±


    Abyss''s dangerous feeling disappeared as he spoke in a sage like tone ¡°Is that so? Does suspicion give her the reason to threaten me? Have she investigated me thoroughly to the point she knows all my thoughts by the smallest movement of my body? I doubt it. Now listen up both of you. Upset me one more time and I don¡¯t mind giving whoever this Bowsette is a perfect plan to marry the princess. So¡­ SCREW OFF!¡±


    Abyss hmph with displeasure as he said ¡°You siblings have no respect for other and if I do something then that person or group of people deserve it. You guys are still safe but if you take action I swear that I will not stay my hand.¡± Maria frowned but did not say anything.


    Luigina could only bitterly sigh as she said ¡°Please forgive us. Maria is just more bold and strong headed compared to others. She also has been protecting Princess Peach for nearly all her life and swore and oath to do so. Can you try to understand that?¡±


    Abyss stopped walking and turned to Luigina and said ¡°I understand that. That is the reason why I haven¡¯t taken action against you siblings. I could easily pull off a small stunt to teach you both proper manners but considering her personality it would be similar to adding fuel to fire. Not exactly a good combination. She is bold, unrestrained, and does as she pleases. Sure she is more docile with the princess and her own friends but if she continues going against me. I will not show mercy as I will not add fuel but water to her little flame.¡±A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.


    Luigina fell silent now knowing what to say. It was as if they were talking of different topics. She could only shake her head and say ¡°I understand. We will stop bothering you but out of curiosity can you tell us what you are planning on doing?¡± Maria wanted to speak but Luigina''s glare quickly stopped her causing her to pout.


    Abyss seeing this smiled as he felt a bit of goodwill form for Luigina. She was not self centered like Maria and clearly she understood her sister clearly. This meant one of two things or both of them. First they were really close that they understood each other very well. Secondly she has been living in her sister shadow all her life that she came to understand her sister perfectly.


    Abyss was inclined to believe that it was the latter due to the clear way the surrounding toads treated her. Furthermore Maria personality does not appear to be the kind to share the spotlight. Most of the toads looked at Maria with admiration while a few looked at Luigina in respect. Clearly Maria was standing in the higher platform of the Mushroom Kingdom.


    Abyss smiled lightly as he said ¡°Fine. I¡¯m going to the Haunted Forest to gather wood to build at my fief.¡± Maria was surprised hearing this while Luigina showed a different reaction. Her face paled as she spoke somewhat nervous ¡°You- you are joking right?¡± Abyss shook his head and said ¡°Do I look like a person to joke in a serious conversation? Don¡¯t answer that! The point is that I am being serious. I need wood to build a good house so off I go.¡±


    Luigina quickly got in front of Abyss and took a cross stand as she said ¡°Don¡¯t go! The Boos will possess you!¡± Abyss looked at Luigina in surprised before giving her a smile and saying ¡°No worries.¡± Luigina though did not move causing Maria to become worried for her sister. Abyss clearly was not a friendly person and did not fear them. Although it was likely he did not know of them but he should at least have already found out that they had a high status in the Mushroom Kingdom.


    Abyss shook his head seeing Luigina still standing in his way. Walking up to her he stopped a foot away and started petting her head consoling ¡°You worry too much. No one in this world can harm me. I¡¯m like Maria. Even if I do have a few problems here and there everything will work out okay.¡±


    Luigina looked at him with doubt but Abyss face which beamed with confidence caused her to finally give way. ¡°Alright, just be careful.¡± Abyss chuckled as he said ¡°I did not expect you to say that after all the things I said.¡±


    Luigina frowned as she said ¡°Although you are very rude that does not mean that Maria and me wish something bad to happen to you.¡± Abyss looked at Maria and asked ¡°Is that true?¡± Maria averted her gaze and pouted saying ¡°Luigina don¡¯t speak for me.¡± Abyss laughed hearing this. Maria became upset but did not know who to complain to.


    Abyss shook his head and said ¡°Alright enough talking. I really need to go.¡± Luigina and Maria nodded as they finally let Abyss go on his way to the Haunted Forest. Luigina wanted Maria to follow him but Maria though refused. She felt that it would be unnecessary due to the way Abyss was so filled with confidence. There had to be a reason for that confidence and so she let it be and did not go to look after him.


    Luigina though felt worried but trusted her sister enough to believe that it was fine to just let him go. If he ends up missing for a week or two then they would go into the haunted forest to rescue him. Maria agreed to this idea without putting up a fuss since she did not want to worry he sister to dead by having her have a guilty conscious.

    Abyss felt something hit his head before passing out. (Well¡­ I need to move him to another setting.)


    After an hour he woke up to discover that he was somewhere completely different. His surroundings were of trees and clouds. It was strange considering that clouds should be in the sky not on the ground but there were on the ground here. Moving over he placed his hand and made physical conduct. It was as if he was touching the softest of cotton causing him to want to bury his whole body inside.


    He did! He threw himself into the cloud letting it swallow him with its vast soft texture. This was haven! If he was allowed to sleep on this cloud he might never wake up again. After letting his desire to touch such softness be satiated he forced himself to leave it returning to where he was.


    In front of him was a giant egg. Walking towards it he tapped it at first but did not manage to get any response. He wondered what kind of creature laid this egg. The egg was decorated with a nice green design around it as if there were waves and a light blue at both the top and bottom. It was a beautiful egg.


    Nonetheless he really wanted to know what was inside. Sure he could be called a murderer if it was the child of some creature but considering that it was right in front of him as a ¡®gift¡¯ he decided to break it open. That and if he was taken here it meant that it was food for whatever were to hatch from this egg. He was not prepared to become food for whatever it is.


    Pulling his arm back he thrust it breaking the egg scalp. An incredibly sweet aroma exited the egg causing Abyss to drool unconditionally. Breaking the scalp that blocked his view he saw a tiny chocolate bunny at the bottom.


    Grabbing it he ate it not caring of any of his previous thoughts. Upon placing it on his mouth the sweetness caused him to tear up slightly as if he was eating the most delicious candy ever. Looking at the sky he shouted ¡°Sooooo Goooooooooood!¡±


    After he finished swallowing it he looked around and had an idea. If there was a random egg here then there should be more somewhere else. He couldn¡¯t hold his excitement inside. This place was truly mystical!


    The trees were giving out a radiance filled with vitality and the clouds added a hint of mystery to whatever place he was at. The grass was large reaching his knees but did not inhibit his movements as if it made way itself to let him pass.


    Abyss rushed towards a random direction in hopes of finding another egg. The same scene was seen in several places.

    Bowsette who was initially relaxing in her castle was suddenly transported into this place. She was furious causing her to instantly destroy the egg out of rage. This though let out the smell of heaven and upon tasting the chocolate she was consumed with a single thought ¡°Too delicious! I need more! It is all mine!¡±


    She rushed breaking trees that stood in her path to search for more eggs with the divine chocolate that should have never existed.

    Similar to Bowsette Maria and Luigina found themselves in the forest. Maria looked around with curiosity as she asked herself and her sister ¡°Where are we?¡± Luigina was somewhat frightened at the sudden change of location. He hugged her sister and asked ¡°Maria where are we?¡±


    It was not that she was not paying attention but she was too frightened to think clearly. Maria sighed and said ¡°I don¡¯t know but there are two eggs in front of us. Maybe they hold answers.¡±


    Maria walked over to one of the eggs and jumping on it she smashed the top by stomping it. She rebounded a bit higher in the air before falling down to the ground. The smell did not escape her notice causing her to have saliva build up in her mouth instantly.


    Nonetheless she was a hero that saved her princess countless of times. She had a certain degree of self control of herself even if she was headstrong in personality.


    Walking over she looked inside seeing a chocolate bunny. Luigina that was previously frightened was looking at the chocolate bunny like a starve person as she asked ¡°Maria can we eat it!?¡± Maria grabbed it taking a bite she couldn¡¯t help herself from shoving the rest into her mouth. The taste was just too extraordinary to resist.

    Maria and Luigina looked at each other with mutual understanding. Maria spoke first ¡°We need to find more.¡± Luigina nodded her head vigorously shouting ¡°Yes!¡± Before running of Maria said ¡°Maybe with this I can gain Peach¡¯s affection and you Daisy¡¯s.¡±


    Luigina froze as she started to slightly blush thinking of handing the heavenly good to her and receiving a heavenly kiss. Nodding her head she said eagerly ¡°We should hurry!¡± Maria did not complain as both rushed deeper into the forest.

    Abyss had already broken a good dozen eggs and devoured their chocolate bunnies before rushing off to the next. This time though he was shocked at what he saw. ¡°Bowsette!? Why are you here!?¡± Bowsette noticing Abyss gave a nasty grin as she said ¡°To claim what is mine!¡±


    Abyss eyes directed themselves to the egg then at Bowsette who did the same thing. They glared at each other as silent fell upon the place. Suddenly a small breeze passed by and both rushed madly towards the egg! Abyss slid down kicking the egg to the side while tripping Bowsette. Getting up Abyss laughed as he said ¡°The chocolate is mine!¡± Bowsette angrily roared ¡°Never!¡±


    Soon Abyss was being chased for holding onto a chocolate bunny which he ripped out of the egg he kicked. Bowsette was spewing flames towards him hoping to hit him but unfortunately for her Abyss was quick to dodge them. Reaching the top of the hill that both of them were racing on Abyss saw another egg. Without hesitation he jumped onto the egg and road it down the hill.


    Bowsette growled as gave a strong kick to the ground causing cracks to appear and sending her flying towards a tree wish she stomped. The tree being unable to bear such a powerful kick from Bowsette snapped in three. The tree trump and top of the tree were left behind while Bowsette road the trunk down like a snowboard. Abyss was shocked seeing Bowsette still chasing after him.


    Nonetheless he focused on escaping. Bowsette though was raging as she kicked the ground to push her speed further. It did not take long before she caught up to Abyss and began attacking. She tried to claw him and trip him with her tail but Abyss ducked her claws and jumped over her tail avoiding falling off.


    The battle continued for a few seconds before Abyss who was forced to ducked a fireball saw Bowsette eat a branch to the face knocking her off the trunk. Being unable to hold down his laughter his laughter exploded as he shouted ¡°That¡¯s what you get!¡±


    As if the world heard him he was suddenly struck at the back of his head by a branch causing him to fall off the egg he was riding. Bowsette laughed seeing this before she mocked him ¡°Spoke too soon huh!¡± Abyss felt upset but nonetheless he had a victory item that declared him the victor of the argument.


    Pulling out the chocolate he got previously he ate it in front of her. Bowsette exploded in rage as she rushed towards him wanting nothing more than rip the chocolate bunny out of Abyss stomach. Abyss though ran away laughing trying to catch up to the egg he lost track of when he was knocked down by the branch.


    During this time Maria and Luigina managed to find 7 eggs. Maria had saved 2 chocolate bunnies while Luigina saved 3. The rest were eaten by them since they couldn¡¯t bear giving them all up. They were now searching for more eggs until one rolled their way. Maria smiled as she said ¡°My luck seems to be good today.¡±


    She spoke too soon as Abyss at the other side. He was surprised seeing them as he asked ¡°What are you girls doing here!?¡± Luigina was the first to speak anxiously ¡°We are collecting the chocolate bunnies to give to Peach and Daisy.¡±


    Abyss looked at the egg then them. He grinned mischievously as he said ¡°Don¡¯t you mean me? Don¡¯t worry I will get it!¡± Abyss rushed towards the egg shocking them. Abyss grabbed the egg and sprinted off. Maria and Luigina finally recovered from the shock of the events.


    Maria screamed in fury ¡°Thief! Give it back!¡± She ran after him with Luigina shouting behind Maria ¡°Yeah! Give it back!¡± Bowsette soon joined the group shouting ¡°It is all mine!¡± Abyss laughed crazily as he continued to escape his pursuers. It took 10 minutes before Abyss reached the end of his escape.


    In front of him was a giant lake that was swirling towards the center as if it was a giant whirlpool. He froze not knowing what to do. Just as he thought of running to another side he felt 3 bodies crash against him causing all of them to fall into the water. A large battle began in the swirling lake as Abyss, Maria, Luigina, and Bowsette struggled furiously to pull the egg to themselves.


    5 minutes later Abyss did something that no one expected. He punched the egg and stole the chocolate bunny right in front of them again! Abyss raised the bunny and roared ¡°It is mine!¡± before suddenly realizing that something went terribly wrong. He felt everything rise as he suddenly sunk! The girls screamed noticing that they had suddenly reached the center of lake where there was no escape.


    Even Bowsette with her powerful body found herself helpless as she sucked inside screaming ¡°Noooooo!¡± Maria and Luigina did not fair any better as they shouted ¡°Not yet!¡±


    ======


    Abyss suddenly woke up with a start. His body was completely wet and he was in his room. Looking around he was surprised but then he felt something on his hand. Looking over he grinned noticing it was the chocolate bunny he stole from the girls. He chuckled as he said ¡°I will keep you for a souvenir.¡± He walked over to the kitchen and placed it in the fridge.


    Honestly the chocolate was delicious but if he had to choose between his memories of the whole events and the taste of the chocolate he would honestly prefer to keep his memories intact rather than the taste of the chocolate. This though did not mean he would refuse the taste of the chocolate if he was allowed both.


    Moving his hand he grabbed inside the pocket of his pants before pulling out 5 chocolate bunnies! He grinned mischievously as he said ¡°I better enjoy these gifts of Maria and Luigina got for me before they change their mind."


    Abyss was the eventual winner of the Easter Chocolate Bunny Search Competition.

 Chapter 8 - Arrival at the Haunted Forest

    Chapter 8 - Arrival at the Haunted Forest


    For the next two days Abyss was traveling through the land meeting a few sparse toads here and there. He spoke to some of them and learned that not all toads enjoy living all packed together so they spread through the land. Abyss smiled as he took enjoyment at knowing that there was uniqueness with more Toads than he expected.


    After talking with them for a while he took the time to double check the direction he was heading to make sure he was not straying too far from the path. The Toads obliged to tell him but also warned him of the dangers of entering the Haunted Forest. Abyss just shrugged it off telling them that he would be alright.


    Finally on the 3rd day he arrived at the forest in the early morning. He smiled as he felt the surroundings become colder compared to what he was becoming used to. Looking around he saw that the haunted forest most likely derived its name from two places. First being the ghosts that happen to live there while the second place was the forest itself.


    Looking at the trees he saw that the leaves looked like hands while the branches were hanging awfully close to the ground. If he had to guess he would say they were around 5-7 feet in height all around.  This would surely be considered a Forest that no one wants to enter.


    Taking a deep breath he sighed as he said with relief ¡°Finally here huh? I guess I just have to journey into this place and find myself a few trees worth cutting.¡±


    Abyss did not hesitate to walk into the forest even if the leaves gave me a really uncomfortable feeling as they brushed against his arms, shoulders and head. He though endured it as he tried his best to look passed all the leaves that were blocking his line of sight.


    It did not take long before he hit a tree from the lack of vision causing him to feel irritation. Should he solve the matter by burning down all the trees in the area? Also, why was it so dark? He looked up to notice that the sky was cloudy. This would have been strange or just a coincidence that it might rain but what made it odd was that it did not cover the area where he came from.


    Abyss groaned as he said ¡°This really is a haunted forest. It looks like there are dark clouds always covering this forest.¡± Abyss shook his head wondering what he should do. Thinking about it he never met a Boo before and maybe he shouldn¡¯t since everyone appeared to be scared of them.


    Abyss though felt that this was challenging his bravery. He grinned mischievously as he said ¡°So what if they say they would possess me. I¡¯m more than sure I be fine.¡± So he decided that instant. He had a clear goal in mind. Find the Boos and hopefully they who lived in the forest for so long had some spare wood and wagon to lend him.


    Doff wanted to lend him his wagon but Abyss adamantly refused as he worried that he might destroy it or lose it. So he came to the haunted forest without having a wagon to transport the wood.


    Abyss laughed as he began running forward ignoring the leaves and branches rubbing against his body. Abyss continued running until he tired out. His smile though remained on his face as bright as day. He noticed that he was getting closer. It was not an instinctual kind of knowing but the surroundings were beginning to give more of a haunted feeling.     Abyss continued running for 3 hours until he heard the sound of laughter. Abyss instantly slowed down as looked around wondering if instead of finding a Boo they found him. This though ended up as false as it appeared the voice was quite distant and was not directed at him.


    Abyss he was curious as to why someone or Boo was doing began approaching the place where the sound came from. It did not take long before he reached the place. Looking at the scene he was utterly disgusted. There was not many things that could force him to feel like that. This though did.


    There was a Boo lying on the ground on unmoving as a group of Boos laughed. The one in the head said ¡°Good luck next time mister ¡®architect.¡¯¡± Abyss he noticed something from this words saw a small pile of wood scattered in pieces. This was out of place due to the ground only being covered by leaves up to this point. He might have been running but he paid attention to his surroundings to avoid getting lost in the future.


    Abyss heart began to rage as his mind worked quickly to think of a way to mess with this pitiful Boos that dared to do such disgusting things in his presence. A idea quickly appeared but it was risky and really troublesome. Looking at that disgusting smile of satisfaction in the floating Boos faces he decided to do it.


    Sitting down he concentrated in bringing out his energy and even if he was the favored child of the author he still needed 10 seconds to do so. Nonetheless the great power that doing so brought was worth the bother.


    Sadly the Boos were already finishing their small activity ¡°Lets go guys haha. This fellow doesn¡¯t have anything worth destroying anymore.¡± Abyss felt upset not being able to react faster but continued concentrating in his energy. Within 5 seconds they already traveled around 12 feet away.


    Abyss felt lucky as the energy in his body escaped at this moment heading towards the surrounding trees. The mischievous smile appeared on his face as he whispered ¡°Want to destroy things? I don¡¯t mind destroying your reality.¡±


    At this moment all the trees shook as if foreshadowing the events that were about to occur. The Boos themselves froze up as they felt that something was not right. If they were still living they would feel cold sweat on their backs. It was at this moment the trees began bending while the leaf stretched towards them. Shocked they instantly attempted to escape while trying to phase through the trees and ground. Sadly Abyss was prepared for this as the instant they tried that they all slammed against what they planned to phase through.


    Ghost usually could phase through most things but there was something they could not exactly phase through with ease. That is matter filled with energy. When facing an ordinary object the Boos would be able to phase through it without trouble as their body made of energy would not be affected by it. They could also solidify their existence to touch objects. Sadly they felt to realize that if energy itself was around in large quantities then it will act as something physical for them.


    Abyss used this to his advantage to block their escape. Once they realized that they could not phase through things it was too late. Abyss moved the branches and trees to bend over and attempt to grasp them. This could be slightly scary but considering that there were thousands of leaves that looked like hands reaching out for you made it terrifying.


    They screamed in fear as Abyss forced the energy in the trees that was grasping the Boos to split causing the tree trunk itself to split open into what looked like a large mouth. The Boos struggled more violently seeing this as Abyss began to ¡®feed¡¯ the tree.


    One ghost, two ghosts and the final 3rd ghost that was cruel enough to try and ruin someone dreams. Abyss grinned as he said ¡°I hope you have a nice flight.¡± All the other trees stopped moving as the one tree holding the Boos inside its opening bended backwards until the tip of its top touched the ground.


    Finally he released the control of the energy all around the tree while slowly dissipating the energy that trapped the Boos. The result was glorious as the tree which returned to almost normal flicking the ghosts out into the distance.

 Chapter 9 - Meet Poof

    Abyss face was slightly paled as the amount of sweat covering his body increased. He felt disgusting as he wished that this kinds of things did not happen to him. In the end he could only sigh as he walked out and sat next to the unmoving Boo. Abyss chuckled as he said ¡°Stop pretending. Your shivering gives you away.¡±


    The Boo who did not realize that it was trembling the moment the other Boos screamed froze in terror. Abyss smiled as he said ¡°Don¡¯t worry. If I wanted to harm you why would I go for those Boos when you were there unconscious?¡±


    Hearing this words the Boo somewhat relaxed realizing that the person that attacked the other Boos was not aiming for him to be precise. The Boo slowly floated up and looked at him before becoming shocked. It was extremely rare for anyone to ever enter the Haunted Forest especially a human.


    Abyss grinned as he said ¡°Hey, I¡¯m Abyss.¡± The Boos stuttered ¡°I- I- I¡¯m Poof.¡± Abyss nodded as he asked ¡°What is going on Poof? First I was running through this place then I found you on the ground unconscious.¡±


    Poof hearing this showed a saddened expression as he said ¡°I was out here building a small bird house but before I knew it they found me. Boos no longer respect architects since we already possess a mansion so architects are found as useless now. Only those¡­ that waste their life still do it.¡±


    Abyss frowned hearing this as he said annoyed ¡°What nonsense. How could Boos be so idiotic to say something like that? Let me see how the King of Boos answers my questions then.¡± Abyss nodded with determination to head to the haunted mansion to have a ¡®nice¡¯ chat with the King of Boos.


    Poof though looked confused as he said ¡°We don¡¯t have a King.¡± Abyss tilted his head dumbfounded. How come they did not have a King? He was certain that other than Bowsette who was probably a genderbent Bowser but the rest would likely remain unchanged.


    Poof though explained ¡°We have Queen Boosette. She is really kind though. She was the one who provided me the wood to build the bird house.     Abyss mouth fell down in shock. How come there is a Queen and she was so nice? Why are architect Boos disrespected then? As if reading Abyss mind Poof continued explaining in a bitter tone ¡°Although the Queen cares for all us Boos as if we were family. The other Boos are not like her though. They believe that Architects are no longer necessary as they are not able to pull of pranks. You see us Boos really love having fun but since Architect Boos can only build with physical material we are unable to prank anyone. The Boos we try to prank would just phase through our builds. So as Architect Boos our inventions and we are looked down by others except for the Queen.¡±


    Abyss felt sad for Poof but he smiled as he said ¡°How about this. Come with me! Join my fief and make a home for yourself. You can build all the birdhouses you want. You can even build homes for the Meat Scale Fish at the pond I have. You can also enjoy pulling a few pranks on the nearby residence.¡±


    Poof though looked shocked as he said ¡°You want me to go to the outside!?¡± Abyss nodded as he said with excitement ¡°Of course! I need an Architect with me to help build my fief from the ground up. You are perfect. Maybe this small birdhouse is a bit of a long shot but with enough experience and learning I¡¯m sure you can build a mansion just as good- No! Better than the Haunted Mansion you Boos live in.¡±


    Poof shook his head hurriedly as he said ¡°I can¡¯t leave. I need to stay with my family.¡± Abyss frowned as he said ¡°Your family? Other than the bullied Architect Boos and the Queen who else treat you like family? I also do not believe your fellow Architects would stick together.¡±


    Poof lowered his head remembering his life. It was true that even though the Architect Boos are bullied they do not stick together. They rather just look at each other with bleak eyes and hope for the future to be better. Only the Queen was holding him down. He knew this in his heart as she was the only one who gave him encouragement to continue building.


    Abyss sighed seeing Poof suddenly become like a deflated balloon. In other words feel depressed. He tried patting his back but it just fazed Poof but Abyss still said ¡°How about this. We go and talk to your supposed Queen and see what words she has to say to you. If she truly wants you to stay I believe she will figure out a way to solve your problem. If she doesn''t want you to stay then come with me.¡± In his mind he said a final line ¡®If she wants you to stay but can¡¯t fix it then¡­ I will fix it for you.¡±


    Poof looked up as he said in a conflicted tone ¡°Alright.¡±

    With that small matter resolved Abyss stood up and gestured Poof to lead him although it was clear from the sky which direction he should take to reach there. This was really a big flaw for the Boos if they wanted to live a secluded house but it made a great haunted atmosphere.


    Poof began leading him deeper into the forest in silence. Abyss took this silence as Poof thinking about what he was going to do with his future.


    It took around an hour to finally reach the end. Abyss looked around and saw a large mansion surrounded by a large iron fence with an iron gate in front of him. Abyss nodded as he said ¡°This place really is well made although I don¡¯t want a haunted house or mansion at my place kind of vibe.¡± Poof snickered as he said ¡°It wasn¡¯t always like this.¡±


    Abyss nodded as he said ¡°True I can see a portion of the greatness of its past. The flowers blooming the birds chirping and the smell of spring settling into the air. The trees would be incredibly luscious and tall causing its beauty t be further defined. A masterpiece of the past which is now only a shadow.¡±


    Poof looked at Abyss in awe as he said ¡°You can see that much just by looking at it?¡± Abyss laughed as he said ¡°Kid, it takes a bit of imagination to bring the beauty of the world for the eye to see. If I did not have creativity I would have long since died.¡±


    Poof nodded with new found respect for Abyss. Abyss though just shrugged it off as he knew these words were truly all part of his imagination. If he was living here then that would be the way he wanted the place to look instead of this haunted like look.


    Abyss smiled he said ¡°Lets go in then. I¡¯m sure everything will work itself out.¡± Poof nodded as he led Abyss into the mansion after he jumped the gate. Boos could phase through objects but Abyss still had to go through the long method to enter.


    Finally Abyss was in front of the Great Haunted Mansion the home of the Boos. Abyss smiled as he wondered what would happen once he enters. Boo faced through the wall and Abyss tried to open the door to no result¡­


    ¡°Poof cover your ears.¡± Poof phased back through and asked ¡°What?¡± Abyss repeated himself ¡°Cover your ears if you have any for a moment.¡±


    Poof laughed a bit as he said ¡°Boos don¡¯t have ears.¡± Abyss sighed as he said ¡°Nevermind then. Open one of the windows so I can enter.¡± Poof nodded as he disappeared back in the mansion. It did not take long before a window opened. Abyss sprinted and leaped inside. Rolling on the floor and stuck the landing with a smile. He wanted to do this before but never found a good time to do it.


    Inside Abyss looked around and asked with curiosity ¡°Where are all the Boos?¡± Poof scratched the back of his head and said ¡°They should still be sleeping. I kind of got up early and those guys that you threw somewhere woke up because of the small racket I caused.¡±


    Abyss nodded in understanding as he asked ¡°Mind leading me to the Queens chamber?¡± Poof nodded thinking that Abyss would patiently wait outside. Abyss though had other plans. He did not want to be around if the Boos were aggressive. Poof was a decent Boo but who knows about the rest.


    Abyss followed Poof for several minutes before reaching in front of a beautifully adorned chamber door. Abyss smiled as he readied to kick the door open in a huge dramatic way. Poof though shouted in a whisper ¡°What are you doing!?¡±This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.


    Abyss looked at him and said ¡°I¡¯m going to talk with the Queen.¡± Poof shook his head furiously as he said ¡°You can¡¯t do that!¡± Abyss groaned as he asked with annoyance ¡°Why?¡± Poof face palmed and said fiercely ¡°She is the Queen of Boos.¡± Abyss shrugged as he said ¡°So what? I dare to threaten the Mushroom Kingdom Peach in front of her trusted heroes. How big of a difference is it between threatening a princess and barging into a Queen¡¯s chamber?¡±


    Poof was shocked but still responded ¡°A huge difference!¡± Abyss sighed as he said ¡°Fine! I won¡¯t barge in.¡± Abyss feeling disgruntled sat down. Poof finally let out a breath of relief seeing Abyss calm down. Abyss though felt dissatisfied that he could not do as he pleased. Nonetheless he listened to Poof because he was worried of getting him into trouble.


    Looking at Poof he said ¡°You should go to your room and rest. I will wait here until the Queen comes out.¡± Poof though shook his head and said ¡°No I need to stay and make sure you don¡¯t do anything rash.¡± Abyss sighed as he explained why Poof should return to his room ¡°Look. Previously I screwed up and did not think ahead. I might be safe from Boos but you are not exactly fully protected by them right? You can be attacked by Boos if you stay with me.¡±


    Poof hearing this trembled for a moment. He just realized that he was running a big risk by bringing Abyss to the mansion causing him to begin feeling nervous. Abyss nodded with satisfaction and said ¡°Now go to your room. I will wait for the Queen to wake up.¡±


    Boo wanted to refuse but knew that he couldn¡¯t really do so.  Poof sighed as he admitted defeat ¡°Alright but don¡¯t go around causing trouble.¡± Poof left Abyss to what should be the direction of his room. Abyss grinned as he thought ¡®It worked! I can go mess with other Boos!¡±


    Even though Abyss did cared for Poof that did not mean he should wait here doing nothing. He was a young man that wanted to have lots of fun before the day he died. So he quickly stood up and began wondering the halls sneaking peeks into some rooms where Boos were sleeping. Abyss smiled as he began setting up pranks for those poor sleeping souls.


    If Boos loved pranks then he would be the greatest prankster this mansion ever had. Abyss even found some items that he thought were nonexistent. A marker for crying out loud! He thought that this world hadn¡¯t reach the level to create such object.


    Soon countless of Boos fell victim of having their faces written all over. The worse part about it was that they were ghosts that even if they looked into a mirror they would only see floating words. Abyss grinned evily as he decided to return to waiting in the front of the Queen¡¯s door.


    It did not take long before the door opened by a white gowned woman. Abyss looked at her carefully before realizing she was somewhat transparent. She did not realize he was there though as she floated away. Abyss followed her silently waiting to see what was about to happen.


    If the Queen was truly a mother figure for the Boos then it is likely she wakes them up. A minute later they were in the middle of the living quarters as she shouted in a sweet voice ¡°My children is time to get up.¡±


    1¡­2¡­3 Screams of surprise, shock, disbelief, and so on echoed. Hearing this the Queen became worried as she looked around shouting ¡°What is going on!?¡± Her tone showed she clearly cared for her children. As to why she was not surprised at seeing Abyss was easy to explain. She did not see him. Abyss reacted swiftly and followed her back waiting for the show to unveil itself.


    A bunch of Boos rushed out of their room with all kinds of things on them. One was covered by a blanket unable to escape, another was trying to escape the room since there was a rope tied to him and another had panda eyes with different pieces of black fabric glued onto it making it look like a panda.


    Abyss upon witnessed this scene couldn¡¯t hold his laughter as it burst out as he laughed at the poor Boos. It reached to the point that he started tearing up and balling on the ground ¡°This is hilarious haha! Comedy gold! Haha! Argh! It hurts! Hahaaha!¡±


    The Queen Boosette froze as she slowly turned around seeing Abyss rolling on the ground laughing madly. The Boos though raged as they tried to free themselves and attack him. Some of them were free thus they were the first victims of trying to attack Abyss.


    Abyss who was laughing at on moment stopped and shot up from the ground causing the Boos to crash onto each other. Abyss smirked as he said ¡°Nice try.¡± Boosette was too surprised to do anything though as Abyss landed back on the ground gracefully.

 Chapter 11 - Creating Entertainment

    Chapter 11 - Creating Entertainment


    Looking at Boosette he said ¡°Nice to meet you. My name is Abyss and I¡¯m wondering if you could give me some sturdy wood to build my house.¡± Boosette covered her face with a blush taking over she shouted ¡°Look away!¡± Abyss who was confused did as he was told. He turned around.


    There was a breath of relief behind him. Abyss who was smart enough to figure some complexities of the world instantly realized what happened. Abyss chuckled as he said ¡°Alright, let us try this again. My name is Abyss and I came here for two reasons. My primary goal is wood and the second is a bit more personal. Mind if we talk in private instead of letting your children glare at me when we talk?¡±


    Abyss looked around him avoiding looking back. The Boos had flames in their eyes as they glared at him. Abyss waved at them and said ¡°I hope you enjoyed your gifts haha.¡± Boosette ignoring Abyss said ¡°Children go get yourselves cleaned up. I will deal with this arrogant fellow.¡±


    Abyss nodded no caring about this little title she gave him. Honestly he was being a bit too arrogant for his own good and he acknowledges that. He came to someone else home and pulled a prank on a decent amount of the residents. Boosette turned to leave and said ¡°Follow me.¡±


    Abyss smiled with satisfaction as he turned around Boo froze and said ¡°Turn around!¡± Freezing Abyss felt like life was too harsh. This Queen Boosette is unable to bear the gaze of strangers in the slightest. He groaned as he turned around trying to walk backwards. Boosette continued floating no making a sound causing Abyss to have difficulty trying to follow her.


    It wasn¡¯t long before he tripped on himself and fell on his back. Abyss groaned as Boosette shouted ¡°Don¡¯t look!¡± She was floating a fair distance from him as Abyss stole a glance. Abyss stood up feeling annoyed. Hell with this world! Think! Think! How to move without needing to see her! It did not take long before a somewhat simple but taxing idea appeared.


    Abyss took a deep breath and stood still. Boosette who heard Abyss¡¯s steps stop turned around and asked ¡°Is there something wrong?¡± Abyss stayed silent. Boosette becoming worried said ¡°Um¡­ Are you alright? Are you mad?¡± Silence¡­ Abyss finally finished releasing his energy and closing his eyes he said ¡°Nope! I just had to do a quick thing. Thanks for waiting.¡±


    Boo was surprised as she said ¡°Um, alright. Follow me then. We will talk about it in my chambers.¡± Abyss who was using his energy to ¡®see¡¯ the surroundings stopped and said ¡°Wait what? Shouldn¡¯t you avoid bringing people inside there?¡±


    Queen Boosette giggled as she said ¡°I doubt you would care about that mister wanting to bust into my room.¡± Abyss body froze with cold sweat as he said ¡°I- um- I can explain this. When did you know?¡± Queen Boosette smiled and said ¡°You know us Boos don¡¯t make much noise when moving through thin air unlike someone who has to walk to reach in front of my room.¡±


    Abyss groaned as he realized his mistake. Haunted mansion that is practically empty and no ghosts usually make noise during the day. Of course his steps would be amplified. Wait! Then why did she not realize he was following him?


    Abyss being too curious asked without hesitation ¡°How come you didn¡¯t know I was following you then?¡± Boosette blushed as she said awkwardly ¡°I did. I just¡­ Fine! I fell asleep and did not remember you were out there.¡±


    Abyss laughed hearing this as he found it funny how honest Boosette was. This only further increased the redness in Boosette transparent face. Boosette could only sigh with irritation at Abyss laughter. Abyss though shook his head as he said ¡°You have a really good personality. I wouldn¡¯t mind making friends with you.¡±


    Boosette froze as she said ¡°You- you want to be my friend.¡± Turning around she looked at Abyss who was facing backwards. Abyss nodded his head and said ¡°Why not? You are kind from what I hear and honest from what you just said which are great qualities for any friend.¡±


    Boosette blushed as she said quietly ¡°Thank you.¡± Abyss smiled as he said ¡°No problem.¡±


    Turning around they walked in silence for a minute before reaching Boosette chamber. She was feeling a bit shyer because of what Abyss said so before entering she told Abyss ¡°Wait here!     Abyss shrugged as he agreed in a nonchalant way ¡°Sure.¡±


    For the next 3 minutes Abyss heard rustling noises causing him to become slightly curious but not enough to peek. He already gave his word that he would stay here and it was to a girl. Poof is like a small friend that he could goof around with. Nonetheless the Queen of Boos surely takes his word seriously.


    This caused him to stay put even if he wanted to know what exactly was happening inside. Finally after those long 3 minutes Boosette opened the door and said ¡°You can come in now. Abyss who was facing the wall opposite to the door walked in backwards.


    He began to wonder how long he be forced to do this. In the end he had no answer as he had to take care of the problems around here before then. Not to mention that he was carrying food in his backpack that he got from Doff. He should be good for two days but after that he would have to starve. He sighed no knowing what to do.


    Boosette hearing him asked with worry ¡°Is there something wrong?¡± Her tone was clearly nervous as she thought that her room was being judged by him. Abyss only shook his head and said ¡°It is nothing important. I¡¯m only thinking of what to do now that I only have little food left.


    Hearing the word food Boosette eyes brightened as she said ¡°You have food!?¡± Abyss nodded as he suddenly felt a tugging on his back. He did not turn around as Boosette spoke ¡°Mind¡­ if I have some?¡± Abyss chuckled as he said ¡°Only if you let me look at you directly. It¡¯s hard to move around like this and it takes a lot of energy from me.¡±


    Abyss was not lying as he had to constantly keep a vague sense of his surroundings by having his energy spread around him. Boosette pouted as she murmured ¡°But¡­ I get too embarrassed when¡­ people look at me.¡± Abyss pouted as he murmured ¡°But I can¡¯t see where I¡¯m walking or who I¡¯m talking when I don¡¯t look forward¡­¡±


    Silence¡­ Both of them began laughing for a while before they calmed down. Abyss was the first to speak ¡°So how about it?¡± Boosette placed a finger on her chin and began to debate the pro and cons with herself. A few minutes later she gave in ¡°Fine! Just give me food!¡± Abyss smiled as he felt that things might become easier.


    Turning around he took of his backpack and began taking out the food. It was already late at night but it should be fine to eat. Boosette looked at Abyss with expectant eyes. Abyss took out two different meats and a small pastry. Doff gave him all the food and was kind enough to give him something sweet just for the journey.


    Boosette eyes stuck to the pastry as she began salivating. Abyss chuckled as he said ¡°This is sweet bread. Its really good but sadly there is too little back in the Mushroom Kingdom. My friend Doff himself can¡¯t afford too many himself.¡±


    Boosette was surprised as she asked ¡°Really!?  Um- Can I eat it?¡± Abyss shrugged as he said ¡°If you want.¡± Without hesitation Boosette grabbed the wrapped pastry and ate it quickly. Her eyes shone with immense delight and her body shivered in pleasure.


    If Abyss was not watching this in the first perspective he would have a lot of questions and doubts of what was going on. His stomach growled causing Abyss to smile slightly as he said ¡°Guess it¡¯s my turn to eat.¡±


    Both of them dug into their food with Boosette getting the sweet bread and Abyss the meat. Abyss finished eating and putting the rest of the food away he said with a half casual and serious voice ¡°Alright so lets get to business.¡± Abyss looked at Boosette who was now covering her face as she nodded ¡°Al- alr- alright.¡±


    Abyss sighed no knowing what to do. Well it was kind of cute seeing her like this so he could let it slide. Clearing his throat he said ¡°I¡¯m here for two reasons as mentioned before. I need wood to build and am here to help my buddy with his problem. Well the second mainly lands on your shoulders though. First off I need enough sturdy wood to build myself a nice large house. Then I need you to help my friend Poof.¡±


    Boosette who continued covering her eyes stuttered ¡°I- I- I understand. I can- can help you with th- the wood but- your I¡¯m un- unable to help your- your friend.¡±


    Abyss frowned slightly as he asked ¡°Why? I¡¯m sure all Boos will respect your decision if you say ¡®No more disrespecting Architects. They are valuable assets.¡¯ Or something like that.¡± Boosette turned around causing her to finally relax a bit more. Taking a deep breath to calm her ¡®nerves¡¯ she spoke ¡°I can say that but I can¡¯t control their thoughts.¡±


    Abyss sighed as he said ¡°I understand¡­ but is there really nothing you can do to help?¡± Boosette shook her head and said ¡°I know him and the problem. Unless he is able to prove the worth of being an architect then there is no point.¡± Abyss wondered how they proved their worth and asked ¡°If a Boo wanted to prove the worth of their ability what do they need to do?¡±


    Boosette answered without hesitation ¡°They must be able to create something that serves as entertainment. For example one of my children is a painter as he does beautiful arts which confuse other Boos into thinking they were teleported into another world. It was really funny seeing that child play around where there was only an empty room with paint on the walls.¡±


    Abyss nodded as he said ¡°So your telling me if Poof is able to create something that can entertain others than they profession will be acknowledged.¡± Boosette nodded. Abyss sighed hearing this. How would they do that? He might be able to help with creating simple games but the Boos would just phase through them and say they are boring.


    Closing his eyes Abyss began to think hard as to what to do.¡±

 Chapter 12 – Creating the Boo Games!

    Chapter 12 ¨C Creating the Boo Games!


    Nothing! He had nothing! His head already went through countless of possibilities but they were always hindered by the fact that Boos just phase right through material objects. Abyss groaned as he looked at the floor in defeat.


    It was at this moment something caught his eye. The crumbled wrapping of the pastry that he gave to Boosette. Feeling curious he asked ¡°Can Boos control the way they phase through objects? For example grab material objects?¡± Boosette nodded as she said ¡°We can do that but it takes a little effort from our part.¡±


    Abyss grinned as many ideas began appearing in his mind. He then said ¡°If ¡®Poof¡¯ were to ¡®create¡¯ an event that can happen once a year would that count as creating entertainment.¡± Boosette thought for a moment before saying ¡°Only if the Boos find it fun.¡± Abyss laughed madly as he said ¡°Then its done! I know how to fix the problem.¡±


    Shocked by this statement Boosette turned around before freezing as she felt immense shyness fill her. Covering her face she peeked at Abyss between her fingers and asked ¡°Are- are you- you really- really serious?¡±


    Abyss grinned as he said ¡°Of course! Poof is going to create¡­¡± Abyss waited allowing for suspense to build up. Boosette wanted to hear the answer really bad that she shouted angrily ¡°Tell me!¡± Abyss chuckled as he said ¡°The Boos Games! It will be an event that can be held once a year or more if you like. It will consist of 5 games which the Boos will surely enjoy.¡±


    Hearing the word games Boosette became excited. She herself was a Boo and thus loved having entertainment just like the other Boos. She tried to speak hurriedly ¡°No way! I can¡¯t wait! What are they going to be!? Tell me! Tell me!¡± Due to her immense excitement she ignored her shyness and shook Abyss back and forward without realizing it.


    Abyss though just smiled as he said ¡°Nope! You are going to have to wait just like the others Mwahaha!¡± Hearing these words Boosette felt despair as she shouted unintentionally in despair ¡°NOOOOO!¡± Abyss though froze as he realized ¡®I screwed up!¡¯ It was at this moment countless of Boos rushed towards the exact location of the Queen¡¯s chamber.


    Abyss was quick to react as he said hurriedly ¡°Don¡¯t say I¡¯m here or I won¡¯t make them!¡± He rushed underneath Boosette bed before hearing the sound of countless of Boos phasing through the walls, ceiling and even floor!


    Boosette who was left behind became flustered as many Boos began to question her filled with worry as to why exactly she screamed. It took around half an hour before she managed to calm the situation and shoo away the Boos that wanted to stay near her just to make sure she was safe.


    Abyss who finally saw the coast clear up sighed in relief as he got out complaining ¡°Man, making a woman scream really is frightening. One moment there was only us two then the next there are around hundred ghosts crowding the place.¡±


    Boosette giggled while avoiding looking at Abyss. She was slowly becoming accustomed to Abyss looking at her back since she did not want to face him face to face. ¡°That is what you get for not telling me.¡± Abyss groaned as he said ¡°What is the point of telling if it ruins the surprise?¡±


    Boosette nodded as she said ¡°You better go on and create those games though. I guess you will need help from the architects right? I will write you a note.¡± She went to her drawer and looked around only to find it devoid of writing utensils. There were a few pieces of paper though. Abyss chuckled as he said ¡°I got a marker you can borrow. I ¡®definitely¡¯ did not steal it from one of your children.¡±


    Boosette only shook her head with a bitter smile as she did not want to find out anything about this marker. Abyss handed the marker and Boosette wrote a note telling the architects to listen to Abyss requests and try their best to fulfill them. Abyss was not sure if this would work since architects are probably not very happy to be led by a stranger. Furthermore Boosette could not force them even if it meant that they would get rid of the unfair treatment that they have been experiencing.


    Nonetheless he took it and after asking direction towards the area with Poof he soon arrived there.


    With A smile he knocked on the door causing Poof to angrily run out shouting ¡°Are you crazy! It was bad enough to cause trouble with other Boos but to even cause trouble to Queen Boosette!¡± Abyss tried his best to calm down Poof before saying ¡°Alright there were a few things that were out of calculations. I did not expect for Queen Boosette to grieve so much over the fact I did not tell her my plans.¡±


    Poof hearing this was curious as he asked ¡°What plans?¡± Abyss smiled as he said ¡°The exact same plans that Queen Boosette gave me to deal with your problem. You see she as Queen could no favor any side as everyone is family so when I arrived she told me all this amazing ideas of creating something called the Boo Games! She even told me to direct the whole thing for her! Isn¡¯t she amazing!? Only problem was that I wanted to ruin the surprise to everyone which caused her to scream.¡±


    Poof sighed as he said ¡°I knew it. She really cared for us and planned everything. Also you shouldn¡¯t have tried to ruin her fun!¡± Abyss chuckled seeing that Poof was na?ve enough to buy into his lies. It was clear that Boosette cared for everyone so he decided to only get the wood. Poof can stay with this caring family of his. He was more than sure that in a few years their relationships will improve all around.


    Also, he really enjoyed the fact of creating the Boo Games which satisfied his nature enough to give up taking Poof with him. He was not a demon that would create the situation that would always suit him. Sometimes he would help others when he wanted to. It would also be interesting to see what new inventions Poof and the other make upon his return in the future.


    So with those thoughts in mind he got down to sharing ¡°Boosette¡¯s¡± ideas of the Boo games constructions. Poof was excited hearing them as he quickly agreed to help gather other architects to help construct the places for the games.This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road.     This though was not easy as the Architects put up quite a struggle of defiance as they just wanted to stay sour all their life. Abyss was left hopeless but was lucky enough to gave at least 16 or so Boos willing to help him. Abyss looked at Poof and said ¡°He is my deputy. Make sure to follow his instructions. Got complains? File them to the nonexistent complain room. Now that is clear lets organize ourselves! Bring me the tools available!¡±


    The Boos quickly got to work with most of them groaning with dissatisfaction. Abyss ignored this as soon the tools arrived with 3 less Boos. Abyss knew there were going to be more quitters but he did not care. What truly mattered was the end result of still having a few left.


    Looking at the materials he was happy with what he got. This mansion was really well built and so were the tools. It made sense considering that the tools needed to be up to par in order to create such an amazing mansion. Next up was organizing the troops. ¡°Alright, we all know we have specialties. So lets say them.¡±


    The result ended with 5 Boos being good with cutting wood. Another 3 Boos were good at inscribing designs onto wood. Finally the last 6 Boos were good at creating constructions from the wood. Abyss was more than happy with this composition of the Boos.


    He quickly smiled as he said ¡°The project shall start today at 11:59 pm sharp!¡± The Boos were quite confused and Abyss was forced to sigh as he said ¡°When the sun sets again. Now go and enjoy yourselves since soon you will be working on creating a future for yourselves filled with fun!¡±


    The Boos did not cheer as they felt somewhat annoyed at Abyss even Poof glared at him angrily and said ¡°Why so much later! We all want the change right now!¡± Abyss could only try to appease him by saying ¡°Sorry sorry. I need the Queen to hand me the blue prints to the constructions. I can¡¯t do anything about it.¡±


    Poof sighed as he took this as an acceptable excuse but still said ¡°Make sure to get them quickly.¡±


    Abyss nodded his head as he waved him goodbye. After seeing each of the Boos left to their room he visited Boosette an asked for a favor ¡°Can I borrow an empty room?¡± Boosette was not too mean to deny him as he said ¡°No problem! You can borrow the one on top the top floor left wing 312.¡±


    Abyss gave his thanks before leaving. Arriving in his room he took out a few pieces of paper he stole from his friendly Boo neighbors. Abyss chuckled as he became dead serious the next moment with his brain began planning his constructions.


    For the next 20 or so hours he spend his time locked in the room working himself tiredly to create the blueprints of the creations he had in mind. He had to take several variables into mind with little information. Nonetheless he made everything decent enough to fix each problem. This though took a few instances of look with observing Boos playing around outside.


    He made a rough estimate of everything and was satisfied. There were also a few hypotheses that he added but hoped for it all to work since they were ghosts after all. Finally he finished the blueprints with a tired expression. He was ready to pass out but he had no time.


    Grabbing all the blueprints he rushed outside and hurried to the place that he last held the meeting. Some Boos were waiting impatiently as Poof was the first to greet him. ¡°Abyss what happened? Your late. Also why do you look so¡­ exhausted?¡±


    Abyss chuckled tiredly as he said ¡°Boosette is a really fun Queen. She had me look for this blue prints for fun haha!¡± The rest laughed at Abyss joke filled with exhaustion. Handing over the blueprints he said ¡°You all go outside. I will manage the project at the top of the mansion.¡±


    Leaving to the top floor of the mansion he opened the window and climb to the top. Looking below he shouted ¡°Alright! Lets begin! I want the wood cutters to focus on chopping trees with the specifics of the blue prints. Wood Designers I need you all to go dig up the back for me. Wood constructors help the wood designers make a nice grave hole. Chop chop everyone!¡±


    All the Boos soon began to leave to do as they were told. Abyss supervised the projects while giving his own opinions and arguing with Boos. He also had to warn a few times for the Wood Cutters to be careful how they cut the tree since they needed the tree to remain intact.


    The Boos showed quite a bit of dissatisfaction but his deputy Poof encouraged them and help meditate the problems. Abyss was thank as she shouted to the diggers ¡°Make sure to make it perfectly rectangular. Remove the useless shrubbery and make sure there is only a half a foot space between each grave!¡±


    The Boos groaned as they continued working. They day ended with tired Boos as they gave Abyss spiteful glares. Abyss ignored them and shouted ¡°Great progress. Tomorrow we will continue.¡±


    Getting down the roof he entered back the mansion. Poof followed after him and said ¡°You should be careful. They clearly don¡¯t like you even when considering that the Queen assigned you to direct the project.¡±


    Abyss could only laugh as he said ¡°So what? They can¡¯t do anything to me for now right?¡± Poof sighed as he said ¡°I warned you. Us Poof really like pulling pranks so you should be careful if you plan on continuing this. Abyss laughed at this as he did not place it in his mind. He then shoo Poof away and entering his room he quickly fell asleep.


    Waking up he stretched for a bit before eating some of his food. Going outside he inspected the progress and noticed a few problems. Abyss groaned as he knew he could not let this go. The graves were slightly more spaced out than planned. Another problem was some trees having a deep gash and cracks on them. If he were to use them for the construction there would be a good chance they would not hold as long as the mansion itself. He needed these things to last if not what was the point of building them?


    Returning to the mansion he waited for the time for the Architects to return. Once they arrived Abyss quickly reprimanded ¡°What the hell guys? I went and checked up your work and it was sloppy. I did tell you to watch the trees and make sure they don¡¯t fall wrong. You diggers I expected more from you. You guys were supposed to dig graves not holes. Go fix our mistakes then we will continue.¡±


    The Books became more upset hearing Abyss say these things but they still left to work. Abyss sighed as he said to Poof ¡°It appears they really aren¡¯t good architects. Poof you¡¯re the deputy. Your supposed to manage this small issues.¡±


    Poof shook his head and apologized ¡°I¡¯m sorry but I can¡¯t. Most of the Boos are beginning to question if the Queen truly set you in charge. They also don¡¯t think someone that was just introduced to architecture is not fit to supervise them.¡±


    Abyss groaned as he shouted ¡°Damn it! Is it really that hard!? I just want to have fun then be done with it but they really are making it difficult for us.¡± Poof shook his head and ignored Abyss. Abyss appeared to be quite selfish recently in his eyes.


    Previously he thought that Abyss was a good and patient person but from the looks of it he was wrong. Abyss though felt that he was right. He worked hard for this ungrateful Boos to not work diligently. How could they expect him not to be upset over their crappy effort?


    Abyss decided it was time to personally act to fix these mistakes. For the next few hours Abyss was on the ground running and ordering the Boos to fix their mistakes where he saw them. The Boos began to spiteful glare at him but he ignored them.


    It was similar to force labor but Abyss did not care. He just wanted things done right. If they failed then he would do it himself even if he starved in the process. At the end of the day Abyss was pleased with the work even if he was exhausted. Yawning he said ¡°Alright. Let¡¯s do this again tomorrow. At this rate we should finish within a week.¡±


    He left to go to sleep. He really needed his energy to supervise them personally. The Boos were angered though. Abyss fell asleep that morning and the Boos decided to stay awake a bit longer.

    Boo 1: I really don¡¯t like that guy! He is driving me nuts! I know how to do my job there is no need to tell me.


    Boo 2: I know right! He constantly keeps warning us where we should avoid hitting with the axe as if it would make a difference!


    Boo 3: Yeah! One of us should be in charge no a human. Us Boos understand each other bother.


    Poof: Guys I¡¯m not sure. I think he is doing a good job even though he is really going too far with the way he is supervising.


    Boo 2: Are you defending him? Clearly he does not care about us. He only wants us to work for him and nothing else. I really don¡¯t know what the Queen saw in him to place him in charge.

    Boo 1: You see! He has no qualifications. Sure the Queen is not in position to favor us due to her position but that doesn¡¯t mean we have to take this!

    Poof frowned as he said ¡°True but I¡¯m part of you guys. I¡¯m supervising as well.¡±

    The other Boos laughed as Boo 2 said ¡°We have several hundred years of experience. How much do you have? 50? Haha!¡±


    Poof felt depressed hearing this. He had only around 2 decades of experience but he was confident in his skills to build a birdhouse.


    Boo 1 shook its head and said ¡°Just stay out of it. We will clear up this problem soon. Right guys?¡±


    Boo 2 & 3 ¡°Yeah!¡±


    The soon left to continue their discussion. Poof was left alone in the room feeling bad about himself. What was he thinking! What was Abyss thinking! Why did he set him in charge!? Why did he take the position!? He knew that the other architect Boos did not see him as an equal but he still wanted to prove himself.


    Sadly for him it was all pointless as the Boos completely ignored his effort and we too indulged with their so called abilities to acknowledge anyone else as fit.


    In another room...


    Boo 1: I think here should be fine. Now here is the plan. It¡¯s clear that in order to supervise us the human must be healthy enough to move around.


    Boo 2 & 3 nodded in agreement allowing Boo 1 to continue.


    Boo 1: So in order to get rid of him we just have to slightly injure him. I say the floating bed trick outside the window should do before dropping him. It be great!¡±


    Hearing this Boo 2 & 3 shouted ¡°Yeah!¡±


    Boo 2 added on ¡°If he can¡¯t move then he can¡¯t get on top of the mansion to shout at us.


    Boo 3 chirped in ¡°Even better is him not being able to run around anymore! We won¡¯t have to bare his annoying voice so close to us again!


    They all laughed in glee as they began the slowly disappear. 30 minutes later they found Abyss¡¯s room where he was sleeping silently. They felt lucky that the place was really spacious and accommodated many things. His room also had a balcony which eased the problem of floating the bed outside.


    All three Boos possessed the bed causing it to float outside. Currently they were in the 3<sup>rd</sup> story but they did not hesitate as they said in whispers ¡°In the count of three we drop him. 1¡­ 2¡­ 3¡­ GO!¡±


    The bed suddenly flipped over sending a shadow flying towards the ground. The Boos laughed silently as they rushed back inside to not get caught. They couldn¡¯t wait to hear Abyss scream miserably.

    Abyss woke up with a start as he felt that his bed was moving. Looking around he saw that he was approaching the balcony on his now mobile bed. He did not question many things as he hopped off and waited to see what happens.


    Inside his mind he already had a faint idea what was going on as he reconsidered Poof words more seriously. He silently cursed all 18 generations of the Boos ancestors for trying to pull off this stunt. Seeing the bed flip he has a shit eating grin as he saw the bed rush towards him before freezing.


    He waved and said ¡°What a great night to ride a flying bed huh.¡± His voice sounded as if he was jesting but his eyes contrasted his intentions as there was a glint of mischievousness in them. Before speaking he was already concentrating in pulling out his energy. It did not take long as it rushed the still floating bed.


    The bed was frightened by a sudden sense of danger but before being able to escape they suddenly felt as if they became part of the bed. Abyss laughed as he shouted jovially ¡°From now on you guys will act as my ride!¡± If the Boos could be seen with their white texture body then people would be surprised as it further whitened out of trepidation.


    Running over Abyss jumped off the railing of his balcony landing on top of his bed. He did not give the Boos trapped in the bed opportunity to toss him off as he grabbed onto it as if his life depended on it with a wide smile. The Boos were frightened at the suddenness of the situation thus attempted to thus Abyss off without luck.


    Abyss laughed as he was having fun riding this floating bed. The bed did all kinds of aerial maneuvers such as back flips, spins, diving, soaring into the air and so on. Abyss grasp did not weaken in the slightest as he saw himself reach the dark clouds in the sky. He was not scared of falling considering that he already fell of such height at the time of his arrival. A minute later they burst through the low hanging dark clouds revealing the blue sky.


    It was an astonishing sightseeing the white puffy clouds and the sun radiant light brightening the world after being stuck with a sky filled with a deep depressing feeling. Abyss roared in excitement ¡°Onward into the heavens! I want to taste the clouds and feast on the air at the top!¡±


    Even though the Boos wanted to stop they found themselves awkwardly being forced onward by an unknown force.     Abyss though could use his own energy to drill into the Boos and forcefully control their actions.  Abyss soon found himself reaching the clouds and when trying to touch it he felt saddened that the cloud was not solid against his expectations. Abyss cursed ¡°Damn you author!¡±

    Abyss sighed feeling helpless before shaking his head clearing his previous thoughts. Sure he could not sleep on a cloud bed or feel the mythical softness of it. BUT! He shall swallow this cloud! Forcing the Boos to level the bed he stood up and he place on hand on his neck making sure to close the Pharynx in order to avoid feeling his lungs with water.


    Then he started inhaling part of the cloud rapidly causing his previous thirst to be parched. (This is fiction remember) He let out a satisfied sigh as he let go of his throat to resume his normal body functions. There was a thin smile as he said ¡°Well, I guess you guys will be escorting me until I decide to leave. I hope you enjoy your current body since you will be stuck in it for a while.


    The sound of whimpering was emitted from the bed but he paid it no mind. If he did not wake up when he did then he was not certain that he would come out uninjured. He would have definitely not stayed and would have return later to exact vengeance.


    Abyss stayed on the floating bed refusing to return back to the haunted mansion. He wanted to bask on this beautiful sight before having to return to the gloomy forest down below. Instructing constructions of a few unruly Boos was not the most fun activity but the end result was what mattered.


    The Boo games were designed for the Boos but he did not care. He would break the race barrier and join the games when the time arrived. That reminds him. He was running out of food at a breakneck speed. If this continues he would be forced to starve his body a week or more in before eating.


    Honestly he did not care but it would definitely affect his games. Nevertheless he was resolute to play even if he was starving his own body. Lying down on the bed he closed his eyes and relaxed. It was annoying controlling the Boos inside the bed but it could not be helped.


    He set his mind to partially keep a tight hold of their movements as he fell asleep. If the Boos were to suddenly struggle to toss him down then they would fail. Soon night came and Abyss woke up lazily. Looking down he said ¡°Let us return.¡± The Boos groaned feeling exhausted. For the whole duration they were forced to hold the bed and Abyss in the sky causing them to feel miserable beyond words.


    Sure they were ghosts but that did not mean they could not feel exhaustion. For them hearing the words return were as if the heavens gave them pardon causing them to rush towards without hesitation. Abyss laughed as he held onto the edge from the sudden surprise descent. He did not realize how happy the Boos were to return.

 Chapter 14 – Joining the Construction

    They were creatures that found themselves more comfortable in their haunted forest and mansion rather than in the sky having to constantly hold their position. Arriving at the bottom they stopped their descent with decent speed but Abyss was able to hold on no matter what. Finally reaching the ground the bed dropped to the ground.


    Abyss only gave them a friendly reminder as he said ¡°We aren¡¯t done yet to don¡¯t get too comfortable.¡± Wails of despair were emitted from the bed as Abyss walked off to greet his fellow coworkers. Arriving in front of them he laughed slightly at their expressions. Poof was shocked but also happy deep inside. The other Boos were horrified at the sight they were seeing.


    Sure they did not understand big picture but they understood that the Boos trapped inside the bed were suffering beyond believe. They did not know how to react as they were suddenly frightened by this former bossy man that they believe was just a figure head.


    It was clear that this man was not as simple as he made himself out to be. Abyss only glanced at them for a moment before saying ¡°We have temporarily shifted 3 works into a different department. In exchange I will be getting my hands dirty with the rest of you all. Please take care of me hehe.¡±


    His chuckle at the end was playful but the words before that were serious as if he was a manager speaking to employees of some changes in staff. They were left speechless but feeling that the poor souls inside the bed wanted nothing more but mercy they did not question his demon in front of them.


    Returning to their work stations Abyss decided to help the Wood Cutters first since the trees could not be replaced so easily. Before starting to work with them he began explaining his thoughts and reasons to his previous suggestions and orders.


    The gist was that the trees needed to stay intact when chopping them. Sure they are sturdy but a sturdy tree does not mean they should be mistreated. He even reviewed some of the trees chopped the previous day and pointed out many flaws. The tree had a gash on one side thus causing it to be uneven. It would require a lot of work and adjustments in order to align the pillars he planned on creating.


    He went deeper into explaining that this would only cause the duration of the construction to lengthen causing the Wood Cutting Boos to feel embarrassed. Abyss just waved his hand and said it was alright considering that it has been too long since they did cut down trees. It is only understandable some of the basics would be ignored but that doesn¡¯t mean they should be forgotten.


    He humbled himself further as he stated ¡°I¡¯m just giving a bit of a reminder. It is nothing you guys cannot figure out given another day or two.¡± The Boos were quick to reciprocate Abyss positive change as they said ¡°Your right. Next time we will be more cautious.¡±


    Abyss though laughed as he said ¡°Good! But I want to cut a tree too.¡± One of the Boos quickly handed him an axe. Abyss looked at the surroundings and after running a few calculations in his mind he began cutting it down.


    It did not take long before the echo of the tree splitting sounded out. Abyss quickly moved out of the way and shouted ¡°Timbeeeeeer!¡± The tree fail down onto the planned area although it was slightly off the damage to the tree was minimal.


    The Wood Cutting Boos chuckled at Abyss¡¯s antics before deciding that they would try to do it when chopping the next tree. Returning the axe Abyss called over the exhausted bed and rode it to the graveyard Boos.


    Arriving there he waved at them. The Boos tried to ignore him but Abyss did not let it happen. ¡°Poof! Come over! I need your help gathering this guys and gals here.¡± Poof only nodded before going to work. The graveyard Boos were quite reluctant to stop working knowing that Abyss being here meant that the moment they stopped he would take control.


    Nonetheless Poof quickly stopped them and gathered them in front of Abyss. Abyss grinned as he praised Poof ¡°Great work! The future appears bright for you Poof. Being so young and able to already work with Boos that have a misplaced ego.¡±


    The graveyard Boos hearing this roared with indignation ¡°Shut it! You don¡¯t know how to digger any better than us!¡±


    Another one roared ¡°Not to mention inscribing beautiful patterns onto the walls of the graves!¡±


    Abyss roared furiously ¡°Shut it you nonsensical fools! What beautiful patterns!? What digging!? As far as I see you¡¯re all just building a whole with random lines!¡± The roar frightened the Boos but nonetheless they kept their defiant glare at Abyss. Abyss ignored them as he said sternly ¡°Sure I haven¡¯t done this work before but I can do it better! To you its just digging a whole but for me its digging the sight of The Boos Games! Such a sight cannot be allowed to look so pitiful s you all made them look! Give me your tools before I decide to take them.¡±


    The Boos could only throw their tools at Abyss trying to please their ego of feeling superior compared to this newbie that came out of nowhere. Abyss though was disgusted by their actions as he reacted quickly in catching each tool before placing them down.


    His eyes filled with disgust stared them before reprimanding them with a voice filled with disgust ¡°Disgusting! You call yourselves inscribers? Builders? What kind of builder and inscriber mistreats their tools? Their tools are supposed to be treasured not thrown as if they were mere tomatoes. Next time you pull such a stunt I want you all gone. I don¡¯t care whether I finish in a year or two while I get rid such unworthy Architects.¡±

    Abyss grabbing a few of the tools walked towards one of the grave before jumping down. Looking at the uneven wall he felt annoyed. He began using all the rulers he took with him to measure the supposed grave he had. He found that the grave was too small. There was around 7 centimeters missing.


    Sure not many would pay attention to this detail but Abyss did since it was something that was supposed to look beautiful. Yes it was a grave but it was not a grave. It was a sight that would bring countless of people of all over the world into this land.


    He did not want to create a one time event. He wanted an event to last for decades if not centuries. The place where all races and people would gather to compete or watch the games unfold. Getting to work he shouted ¡°Watch and learn!¡± The Boos encircled the grave and mocked Abyss handwork.


    It was crude and somewhat barbarian but Abyss did not care. He continued working hard for several hours. At the end his moves were cautious and deliberate. The Boos were no longer jeering as they saw Abyss was taking the construction of a single grave so seriously.


    The Boos still pride themselves as Architects thus they were unable to laugh at Abyss incredible focus and effort in making the grave into exactly what the blue print wanted. Abyss finally finished and wiped the sweat on his forehead. He had to throw a lot of crumbs of dirt outside as he did not want to dirty the bottom. Furthermore he had to repeatedly grab the crumbs and pleasure them onto the wall with precise pressure to avoid imprinting the shape of the tool while adding a bit to the size. He was finally satisfied.


    The grave was perfectly rectangular and matched to the prescribed matters set on the blue prints. Looking at the inscribers he said ¡°What you guys looking at? There is nothing but a wall. It is your job to create a majestic but haunted feeling manifest from it. I can only do so much.¡±


    Abyss knew that this was his limit. Sure he could try his hands inscribing the wall with great ominous but majestic lines. He could even succeed with the help of his creator but he knew that he would not be given such a freebie thus he ordered the Boos.


    The Boos ego had deflated during the course of the construction of the grave. They called Abyss methods crude but looking at the results of the hard work achieved they were silenced. Who was the one that was crude? The one with the amazing technique but poor results or the man with poor technique but great results?


    The inscribers felt embarrassed too since they knew inscription was not easy and seeing Abyss stopping at this point showed that he respected their skill but not their attitude. These actions caused them to feel shame that they never thought they would feel. Sure they were unhappy with their treatment and upset that they were never respected now but they were never ashamed of themselves.


    On the contrary they prided themselves on the knowledge that they build this mansion and not the other Boos. Now seeing an upstart do better than them and showing them who was ¡®better¡¯ they could only be ashamed. The Boos that knew inscription nodded as they said with a more solemn voice ¡°We will take over from here.¡±


    Abyss nodded. Getting up he felt his spine make cracking sound causing both ache and relieve. The Boos were surprised at this since it has been too long since they had a body. From the look of Abyss relief but pained expression they understood that he stayed there even when knowing that his body was not supposed to be doing such an action for long periods of time.


    Abyss stretched a bit before jumping out with some oomph. Abyss sighed as he said ¡°I will return to check your progress in two days. Poof will be managing the rest. I need a break.¡± Abyss walked off wondering what the future held. He had fun playing with the construction of the grave. Sure he wasted a lot of time of the construction but he considered it more of an investment.


    His thoughts were spot on though. The digger Boos began to re-measure all the graves and several issues arose in the process. Their graves were too small and if they were to fix them then their graves would be too packed together. This led to a drastic change in the process of digging. They began focusing their attention in correcting their previous mistakes before creating lines around the area designating the area for the future graves.


    The Boos that knew inscription did not throw themselves into the grave right away. They knew that a single mistake would cause them a lot of trouble thus they began planning their inscriptions. They even went and gathered some fellow Boos that had good eyes to evaluate their work.


    Abyss at this time though was too busy sleeping in his room to realize the drastic change he brought to the group. The only Boos that were discontent with their position were the ones stuck in the bed. Abyss though ignored their cries of mercy and slept soundly.
